- 0:02Speaker 1: This is a Bramble Jam podcast. Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark,
- 0:24Speaker 1: a homemark review podcast. I'm Megan and I'm a longtime
- 0:27Speaker 1: Homemark fan. I'm Wendy. I'm a former Hallmark hater. I
- 0:30Speaker 1: feel like the listeners should know that we're recording remotely
- 0:33Speaker 1: today and when Wendy popped into our recording session, usually
- 0:36Speaker 1: it says Wendy. Today her name is listed as former
- 0:38Speaker 1: Hallmark hater. It made me laugh. I don't know why
- 0:42Speaker 1: I felt compelled to do that today six years later.
- 0:46Speaker 1: You know, I don't know. I'm just in a mood.
- 0:48Speaker 1: I don't feel good, so you know, I'm sorry. Well,
- 0:51Speaker 1: it did make me laugh. On today's episode, we're discussing
- 0:56Speaker 1: the second movie in our vintage Valentine series, All Things Valentine,
- 1:00Speaker 1: which originally aired ten years ago in January twenty sixteen.
- 1:06Speaker 1: You can stream it on Hallmark Plus and it is
- 1:10Speaker 1: also re airing this weekend. Really, it is re airing
- 1:15Speaker 1: this Sunday at two pm on Hallmark Channel. If you'd
- 1:18Speaker 1: like to rewatch it, I do Apolodays. We didn't match
- 1:21Speaker 1: these reviews up with them airing on Hallmark Channel. We
- 1:25Speaker 1: don't have the schedule that far in advance to be
- 1:26Speaker 1: able to do that. So if you want to rewatch
- 1:28Speaker 1: this movie, it's on this weekend, on the fifteenth. Hallmark's
- 1:31Speaker 1: really dipping into their Valentine in fact ives. In fact,
- 1:36Speaker 1: all of the movies from our Vintage Valentine's series are
- 1:39Speaker 1: airing this weekend. A Valentine's Match will be on Friday,
- 1:42Speaker 1: February thirteenth, and The Secret Ingredient will be on Sunday,
- 1:46Speaker 1: February fifteenth. My Secret Valentine is on Valentine's Day on Saturday.
- 1:49Speaker 1: So you can check the Hallmark Checklist app if you
- 1:53Speaker 1: want to look them up movie by movie, and you
- 1:54Speaker 1: can look at the Hallmark schedule at Hallmark Channel dot com. Yeah,
- 1:59Speaker 1: didn't we get an email somebody was asking like where
- 2:02Speaker 1: or last last week's review? Yes, they thought I was aired.
- 2:08Speaker 1: They thought hopefully the movie would be on the same
- 2:10Speaker 1: day as our review. Unfortunately it was not. I'd love
- 2:14Speaker 1: to have a deeper look into Hallmark's future schedule to
- 2:17Speaker 1: be able to plan that way, but unfortunately we can't.
- 2:19Speaker 1: So it's Hallmark Plus or cross your fingers. I mean,
- 2:22Speaker 1: and some of these movies that are ten years old,
- 2:24Speaker 1: they might be on YouTube. Oh yeah, I mean, I
- 2:27Speaker 1: don't know. I don't know for sure, but you know,
- 2:31Speaker 1: you can go look anyway. Anyway, Hey, if you have
- 2:36Speaker 1: some thoughts on our reviews, or some feedback or an
- 2:41Speaker 1: opinion about anything, really email us. We were at Hello
- 2:45Speaker 1: at Girls Gone Hallmark dot com. Let's kick off our
- 2:49Speaker 1: discussion of all things Valentine with a synopsis A blogger,
- 2:55Speaker 1: which lol. A blogger who has had terrible luck on
- 2:59Speaker 1: Valentine meets a handsome veterinarian. Then she finds out he
- 3:04Speaker 1: is the one who has been leading root comments on
- 3:06Speaker 1: her Valentine's Day articles, and she questions if her luck
- 3:10Speaker 1: has changed at all. She's not a blogger. She works
- 3:13Speaker 1: for a newspaper. I don't understand. I know. Does it
- 3:18Speaker 1: make you think of Real Housewives of Orange County last season? Why?
- 3:22Speaker 1: Because they kept talking about the blogger, the blogger who
- 3:25Speaker 1: had outed them, and it was like even Andy was like,
- 3:27Speaker 1: it's not a blog blogger. It was a podcaster who
- 3:30Speaker 1: was talking about these things like get you guys are
- 3:32Speaker 1: one hundred years old. Yeah. Anyway, by the way, I
- 3:38Speaker 1: am watching Real Housewives Beverly Hills and I'm all in
- 3:41Speaker 1: and I have strong opinions. So about who everybody can't
- 3:45Speaker 1: stand Amanda but the worst. But also I'm like, Kyle's
- 3:50Speaker 1: house is so pretty, I just want to be Kyle
- 3:52Speaker 1: Richards her house. I don't think I ever really like
- 3:56Speaker 1: her backyard clocked it. Well, I'm you can have that
- 4:00Speaker 1: too if you move to Encino. I could not have
- 4:04Speaker 1: that too. In Nancio. I don't think it's a direct
- 4:07Speaker 1: trade from what I'm living in right now. Anyway. Anyway,
- 4:11Speaker 1: All Things Valentine was directed by Gary Harvey. Gary currently
- 4:14Speaker 1: has forty three directing credits, with his most recent work
- 4:17Speaker 1: being Murdoch Mysteries BT Dubs that is streaming on Hallmark
- 4:21Speaker 1: Plus these Days. Hallmark movies include Welcome to Christmas, Walking
- 4:26Speaker 1: the Dog? Is this the most uninspired movie title? Ever?
- 4:29Speaker 1: And Love by Chance? Okay, As I was putting these
- 4:32Speaker 1: notes together, I was like walking the Dog, I'm like,
- 4:35Speaker 1: what the heck is that? And then it came up
- 4:38Speaker 1: time and time again as I was going through the
- 4:41Speaker 1: actors in this project, and is it about walking the dog? Oh?
- 4:47Speaker 1: I have no idea, but I know Sam Cage stars
- 4:49Speaker 1: in it too. Is it possibly like walking the dog
- 4:53Speaker 1: is like a euphemism for something? Oh? No, I don't.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Oh no, the movie poster is Walking the Dog. It's
- 4:59Speaker 1: too be walking their Dogs? What's this? What's the synopsis
- 5:03Speaker 1: of it? Oh? Kimberly sstads In it, rival lawyers battle
- 5:06Speaker 1: each other in court as their respective dogs fall madly
- 5:10Speaker 1: in love, bringing their guardians together at every turn until
- 5:14Speaker 1: they reluctantly realize it may not just be the pups
- 5:18Speaker 1: who are each other's true Valentine. Jennifer Finnigan is the
- 5:22Speaker 1: female love interest. Guys, that's bad. That's gotta be bad.
- 5:28Speaker 1: That's your pups fall in love? What and the Wolf?
- 5:33Speaker 1: Although I'm looking at the IMDb, oh, six point five
- 5:37Speaker 1: actually not the worst IMDb rating I've ever seen. Oh
- 5:41Speaker 1: my god, it sounds terrible. Guys, email us hello at girls.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Go on Hallmark dot com if you've seen and like
- 5:46Speaker 1: this movie and tell us why. I mean, I mean
- 5:52Speaker 1: stampack but funny and worth of you is the first review.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Next is amazing. It is so worth a watch you'll
- 6:02Speaker 1: finish with a smile on your face. Loved the ending,
- 6:05Speaker 1: very cute, very smart. Oh my god, yes, adore, this
- 6:10Speaker 1: is one of my favorite Guys. Do we need to
- 6:12Speaker 1: review Walking the Dog? Dogs are the glue? This all
- 6:19Speaker 1: will surprise you, and I highly recommend it. The dogs
- 6:22Speaker 1: are so lovable and cute. Oh this is the female
- 6:26Speaker 1: lead is somewhat of an acquired taste, but she grows
- 6:29Speaker 1: on you. Ouch. It's like Tara Lipinsky and Johnny Weir
- 6:35Speaker 1: are writing these reviews. Oh too funny. He drops some
- 6:39Speaker 1: truth bombs. Have you been listening? Mm mmm, I haven't.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Was listening yesterday. Johnny's like he kind of skates like
- 6:45Speaker 1: a starfish. My husband's like, I don't even know what
- 6:46Speaker 1: that means. I'm like me either, but it doesn't sound nice. No,
- 6:50Speaker 1: I haven't. We haven't really watched a lot it's been on,
- 6:53Speaker 1: but like not listening closely, you know. So you're not
- 6:57Speaker 1: Olympics guys. You're not all in on the Quad God.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Oh I have seen that name, but I don't know
- 7:06Speaker 1: who it is. He's a figure skater, Ilia Malanin from Virginia.
- 7:12Speaker 1: He's quite spectacular. Anyway, Apparently you're all in. Yeah, Yeah,
- 7:18Speaker 1: I'm gonna get you a T shirt that says like
- 7:21Speaker 1: Quad God number one thing, just his face all over it,
- 7:25Speaker 1: like you'r Ian Harding shirt. Look, I'm sure it exists.
- 7:28Speaker 1: Someone posted a photo of him and they're like, I
- 7:30Speaker 1: need to know who his biggest rivalry is right now?
- 7:34Speaker 1: That is so funny? Then like he did rivalry anyway? Yeah,
- 7:37Speaker 1: I get it. Wow, really funny, really funny. How did
- 7:40Speaker 1: we get from walking to walking the dog to that?
- 7:43Speaker 1: Don't know? Sorry about it. It's one of those days. JB.
- 7:47Speaker 1: White wrote the script for All Things Valentine and he
- 7:49Speaker 1: currently has thirty three writing credits. His last project for
- 7:52Speaker 1: Hallmark was Road Trip Romance from twenty twenty two. Sarah
- 7:56Speaker 1: Rafferty stars as Avery. This appears to be her only
- 7:59Speaker 1: Hallmark project, but she's been busy since with projects like Suits, Chicago, Mad,
- 8:04Speaker 1: and My Life with the Walter Boys. Sam Page stars
- 8:07Speaker 1: as Brendan. Sam currently has eighty one acting credits and
- 8:11Speaker 1: has starred in many other Hallmark movies, including Rescuing Christmas
- 8:15Speaker 1: and One Summer. Don't miss Out on One Summer, Guys,
- 8:19Speaker 1: that was real good. He will appear in the newest
- 8:22Speaker 1: season of Shrinking on Apple TV. That's right. As of
- 8:26Speaker 1: the recording of this episode, only the first episodes are
- 8:29Speaker 1: out and he is in episode two. He walks in
- 8:31Speaker 1: I go, Sam Page, that's amazing. It is amazing, and
- 8:37Speaker 1: that season is gonna rip our hearts out, y'all, just
- 8:40Speaker 1: letting you know. Should we review that? It's too late,
- 8:44Speaker 1: too late? Only two episodes in? Oh, no, three seasons in?
- 8:47Speaker 1: You want to go back to the beginning, but I
- 8:50Speaker 1: don't know. Okay, We've got big ideas over here and
- 8:53Speaker 1: not enough time. I would. Okay, write me down on
- 8:58Speaker 1: your list. I will talk about I want you to
- 9:00Speaker 1: know that. In our Pop Culture Club episode that dropped
- 9:04Speaker 1: this week on our Patreon feed, which listeners can find
- 9:07Speaker 1: at patreon dot com, slash Megan and Wendy, a listener
- 9:11Speaker 1: sent a screenshot of the exact moment in time during
- 9:14Speaker 1: that episode in which you said, are we going to
- 9:17Speaker 1: do a West Wing podcast? And they said, don't tease
- 9:19Speaker 1: me with this? Oh that's exciting. Was it you that
- 9:23Speaker 1: did that to myself? Send it to myself? It was
- 9:27Speaker 1: a DM directly to me. Did IDM myself and say
- 9:29Speaker 1: don't tease me with this? Yes? Yes, No, they said,
- 9:34Speaker 1: a straight up recapped won't connect. But the format you
- 9:36Speaker 1: use for Hallmark movies might maybe having a third person
- 9:40Speaker 1: every so often during the big episodes. Cough cough. That
- 9:42Speaker 1: person is a Hallmark listener, So you know who you
- 9:44Speaker 1: are just food for thought. Oh interesting, I don't hate
- 9:49Speaker 1: that idea. Mm hmmm, I don't hate that idea at all.
- 9:53Speaker 1: We're still in news and notes. I apologize to the listeners. Wow,
- 9:57Speaker 1: sometimes they like our tangents and they don't. Heather Dirkson
- 10:02Speaker 1: appears as sister Hannah. Heather currently has ninety six acting
- 10:06Speaker 1: credits and might look familiar for her roles in Debbie
- 10:08Speaker 1: mccumber's Joyful Missus Miracle and Oh Whitewater Romance. I remember
- 10:13Speaker 1: liking a Whitewater Romance. I think you hated it. I
- 10:16Speaker 1: wish I could remember. I remember the movie. I can
- 10:19Speaker 1: like envision them on the banks of the river. I
- 10:22Speaker 1: cannot remember what I thought about it. I think Dan
- 10:25Speaker 1: Jana is on that. I think you might be right.
- 10:28Speaker 1: I think I could be picking the wrong wavie though too.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Kim Release says that appears as McKenna. This movie came
- 10:33Speaker 1: two years after The Nine Lives of Christmas. Funny enough.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Kim also appears in Walking the Dog. Jeremy Gibo appears
- 10:41Speaker 1: as Kit. Jeremy has a deep resume of Hallmark and
- 10:44Speaker 1: Hallmark adjacent movies. His last Hallmark project appears to be
- 10:47Speaker 1: Christmas Waltz in twenty twenty, Jeremy, if I mispronounced your
- 10:50Speaker 1: last name. Hello at girls Conhollmark dot com. Hillary Jardine
- 10:55Speaker 1: plays Prue. We last saw Hillary on Hallmark in the
- 10:58Speaker 1: miniseries Holidays, but she's got several homework titles under her belt.
- 11:04Speaker 1: This movie, as mentioned, did originally air on January thirty first,
- 11:07Speaker 1: twenty sixteen. Pre February. Oh weird. I mean, I wonder
- 11:15Speaker 1: today she was February. Just how the cookies crumbled? Yeah, exactly, exactly,
- 11:19Speaker 1: But I know, but like now, in twenty twenty six
- 11:21Speaker 1: we got like a full slate of January movies, right
- 11:25Speaker 1: move into February movies. Yeah, well, I mean it kind
- 11:29Speaker 1: of sounds like perhaps you know that was a five
- 11:33Speaker 1: Saturday month for January, and they're like, huh, we only
- 11:35Speaker 1: got four winter movies, so roll it on over. Yeah,
- 11:38Speaker 1: maybe let's take a quick break and come right back
- 11:40Speaker 1: with first impressions. Hey, Wendy, what was your first impression
- 11:52Speaker 1: of all things Valentine? Well, if you removed the dog Buzby,
- 11:56Speaker 1: this movie would lose one full star for me. Whoa Buzzy?
- 12:01Speaker 1: He was so cute? Buzby was really cute. I have
- 12:06Speaker 1: a real want right now. Look, I have two dogs
- 12:09Speaker 1: at home, and I've been really wanting like a small
- 12:12Speaker 1: boy dog to be like my little lap dog. Yeah,
- 12:16Speaker 1: like my little Bailey. Yeah. My husband's like, you gotta
- 12:19Speaker 1: be out of your mind. You have two dogs who
- 12:22Speaker 1: are high energy dogs that need lots of exercise, which
- 12:25Speaker 1: he takes the lion's share of is. He's like, no,
- 12:28Speaker 1: that's not happening. You're not gonna believe this. But I
- 12:30Speaker 1: was trying to talk my husband into a third dog yesterday.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Was only trying. I know, I was only trying to
- 12:35Speaker 1: talk him into it, knowing he would never ever, ever,
- 12:38Speaker 1: ever ever agree. So it was like a safe conversation
- 12:40Speaker 1: for me to be like, look, because there are the
- 12:45Speaker 1: cutest chocolate shitsuos right now. Oh my god, truly the
- 12:49Speaker 1: cutest dogs I've ever seen in my life. From there,
- 12:52Speaker 1: can I tell you this Friday in my neighborhood, there
- 12:56Speaker 1: is an event called Puppies and Lattes and it's an
- 12:59Speaker 1: adoption event where they're gonna also have like Valentine lattes
- 13:04Speaker 1: and crap like that. I want to go so badly,
- 13:09Speaker 1: I really want to go. He's like, no, don't go.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. You're gonna come home bringing a dog?
- 13:14Speaker 1: You guys, I need these chocolate shit suos. Truly the
- 13:17Speaker 1: cutest dogs I've ever seen. I'm like, and they're girls.
- 13:20Speaker 1: We don't have a girl dog, like, we only have
- 13:23Speaker 1: boy dogs. You're crazy, I know. I My two are
- 13:27Speaker 1: too much. Especially dogs is a ton of dog poop.
- 13:32Speaker 1: It is a lot of dog poop. It is, it is.
- 13:35Speaker 1: But I feel like having like two little dogs would
- 13:37Speaker 1: just like I know, when we got two dogs, genuinely
- 13:41Speaker 1: the biggest mistake of my life. So everyone's like, we're
- 13:45Speaker 1: gonna get another dog. I'm like, goe to luck with that,
- 13:47Speaker 1: and then I secretly get mad when it was easy anyway,
- 13:51Speaker 1: you already did your first impression, Yeah, what was yours?
- 13:55Speaker 1: My first impression is you know, E've been doing this
- 13:57Speaker 1: a long time. When I recognize Kimberly Sestad simply by
- 14:00Speaker 1: her voiceover, oh totally right. I was like, that's Kimberlys,
- 14:04Speaker 1: says dad in my notes, and then they cut to her.
- 14:07Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, well, that wasn't quite the reveal that
- 14:10Speaker 1: I thought it was going to be. Yeah, I gotta
- 14:12Speaker 1: tell you, I you know, I didn't know she was
- 14:14Speaker 1: in this movie. You either, you know. Prior to sitting
- 14:17Speaker 1: down watching it, I was like, Calisa's dad, what are
- 14:19Speaker 1: you doing here? Why are you not the lead? Yeah?
- 14:23Speaker 1: I got thoughts on that. I'm going to talk about
- 14:25Speaker 1: it my wishes as well, but let's talk likes, okay.
- 14:31Speaker 1: I personally really liked the leads in this movie. Same.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Sarah Rafferty I thought was very enjoyable. Sam Paige as
- 14:41Speaker 1: a light always. They had to me like, aside from
- 14:47Speaker 1: their dueling keyboard wwareness when they were together, they had
- 14:55Speaker 1: a nice, easy, adult chemistry. It didn't feel like overly
- 15:02Speaker 1: precious in this like Valentines movie. Yes, it's like a
- 15:05Speaker 1: grown up meet cute, Yeah exactly. And they were just
- 15:09Speaker 1: like hanging out with each other and talking and getting
- 15:12Speaker 1: to know each other. I liked that their relationship unfolded
- 15:16Speaker 1: naturally mm hmm, which came in such contrast to Brendan
- 15:23Speaker 1: and McKenna, which they set up at the very beginning,
- 15:27Speaker 1: and that was exhausting from the jump and we only
- 15:30Speaker 1: have like a few minutes of their fallout. Yeah, but yeah,
- 15:35Speaker 1: I really liked Sarah Rafferty and Sam Page. I did too.
- 15:38Speaker 1: I think it's a shame that we don't get Sarah
- 15:39Speaker 1: Rafferty in more Hallmark movies. I loved her as Donna
- 15:41Speaker 1: in Suits. I feel like I need to tell you
- 15:44Speaker 1: that we were original watchers of suits before Megan Markle
- 15:47Speaker 1: was royal, so you know I claim that. But she's
- 15:51Speaker 1: fantastic in suits. If you haven't seen it, that movie
- 15:54Speaker 1: is that movie, that series. It's just really beautiful to
- 15:58Speaker 1: look at. Like everybody in it's beautiful. It's also pretty
- 16:01Speaker 1: well done. So I found Netflix if you're interested. But
- 16:04Speaker 1: I also thought this movie was really beautifully shot, starting
- 16:09Speaker 1: with the opening scene when we have Sarah Rafferty's character
- 16:14Speaker 1: Avery walking to her love interest house with the balloons
- 16:18Speaker 1: with her flowy skirt. I mean, it's gorgeous, and then
- 16:21Speaker 1: when she runs away and the skirts blowing, the shot
- 16:24Speaker 1: is beautiful. The rest of the movie is really beautiful
- 16:27Speaker 1: and nice to look at two, which goes a long
- 16:30Speaker 1: way like this felt like a fun, happy Valentine movie.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Props to the cinematography team on this one. Yeah, but
- 16:38Speaker 1: it wasn't like cute scene, No, it was just beautiful
- 16:41Speaker 1: to look at. Yeah. Yeah, well I like that it was.
- 16:47Speaker 1: In my opinion, I thought it was a little more
- 16:48Speaker 1: serious leaning than your average Valentine. Yeah, you know, I
- 16:53Speaker 1: keep going back to last year's An Unexpected Valentine, which
- 16:57Speaker 1: I really liked so much much because it was like
- 17:02Speaker 1: fun and light but not cheesy. Like to me, that's
- 17:07Speaker 1: like the bar that we're trying to reach with these
- 17:11Speaker 1: Valentine's movies, because I think the Valentine's movies kind of
- 17:15Speaker 1: skew a little bit cringey. Mmmm hm, like last week's
- 17:21Speaker 1: movie I did not really like. So this feels like
- 17:26Speaker 1: more in line with that, like a higher tier Valentine movie.
- 17:32Speaker 1: I agree, and with that, there's some comedy in this movie.
- 17:36Speaker 1: At one point, Avery says I don't have a phone
- 17:38Speaker 1: with the hook. I think someone says like take your
- 17:40Speaker 1: phone off look, and she was like, I don't have
- 17:42Speaker 1: a phone with the hook. Made me laugh. There's also
- 17:44Speaker 1: a funny love actually is a Christmas movie line, which
- 17:46Speaker 1: made me laugh because of course it is. It's not
- 17:48Speaker 1: a Valentine's movie. The fact that she included it on
- 17:50Speaker 1: a Valentine's movie list is laughable. She also had another
- 17:53Speaker 1: line that I wrote down and said, I don't have
- 17:56Speaker 1: a comfort zone. I have varying degrees of anxiety. I'm like,
- 17:59Speaker 1: this is ahead of its time in twenty sixteen, put
- 18:03Speaker 1: that on a sweatshirt. I loved it. I'm very relatable, yep,
- 18:10Speaker 1: very relatable. And I just love that damn dog, Busby.
- 18:13Speaker 1: That dog was so cute. Busby was incredibly cute. Is
- 18:19Speaker 1: that all for your likes? Oh? I have one more like.
- 18:22Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I'm not sure that it's intentional, but I
- 18:24Speaker 1: do like the message that making mean comments behind a
- 18:27Speaker 1: computer has repercussions and that you're talking to a real person.
- 18:31Speaker 1: And I kind of as much as I will dive
- 18:33Speaker 1: into those comments in my wishes, I liked the juxtaposition
- 18:37Speaker 1: of the person behind the keyboard and the real person.
- 18:40Speaker 1: I think it's prescient for this day and age. Yes,
- 18:43Speaker 1: I agree. Now let's talk wishes. What's the big one?
- 18:48Speaker 1: Brendan is too mean? Oh that's not my big one,
- 18:51Speaker 1: but okay, let's talk about it. I have a big
- 18:53Speaker 1: one about Kimberly, so I said too, I would say
- 18:54Speaker 1: they're balanced. Brendan behind the computer is too mean. Yes,
- 18:59Speaker 1: to me, it's a giant flag, one hundred percent. I
- 19:02Speaker 1: have the exact same note, red flag. I think I
- 19:05Speaker 1: would have a hard time forgiving him, seeing how mean
- 19:09Speaker 1: he could be with very little reason. She didn't deserve
- 19:14Speaker 1: his ire. He clearly wasn't into the relationship with McKenna.
- 19:20Speaker 1: That's clear the fact that she called him out on
- 19:23Speaker 1: it just because, and did she go a little hard maybe,
- 19:26Speaker 1: but she didn't end the great love of his life.
- 19:29Speaker 1: He didn't want to be with McKenna either. I don't
- 19:32Speaker 1: know why he was so defensive about it. Yes, he
- 19:34Speaker 1: just he was just mad that Avery called him out,
- 19:38Speaker 1: and he was like a dog with a bone and
- 19:41Speaker 1: he couldn't let it go and everything she said he
- 19:44Speaker 1: needed to have a comeback, and his comebacks were unnecessarily mean.
- 19:49Speaker 1: They weren't even like playfully ribbing each other. He was
- 19:52Speaker 1: just like, let me think of the meanest thing I
- 19:54Speaker 1: can say and send. And I just thought beyond finding
- 19:59Speaker 1: out that this is the person who's been giving you
- 20:01Speaker 1: a hard time. If I were Avery, I'd be like, wait.
- 20:05Speaker 1: It concerns me that he can be that mean to
- 20:08Speaker 1: someone he's mad at, because how long until I do
- 20:11Speaker 1: something that irritates him and then he turns into that person? Exactly?
- 20:15Speaker 1: Did I go too far with that? I just it
- 20:17Speaker 1: made me uncomfortable. No, I absolutely agree, and it makes
- 20:21Speaker 1: me think about you know, because everybody on like Reddit
- 20:24Speaker 1: or TikTok or whatever, Instagram, Facebook has an opinion about
- 20:29Speaker 1: everything to me, right, And okay, fine, everybody's entitled to
- 20:33Speaker 1: their opinion. But there is this comfort that people have
- 20:37Speaker 1: behind their keyboards yes that they would never say in
- 20:41Speaker 1: real life. It's the face to people. And if I
- 20:45Speaker 1: had realized that I was dating somebody who was like
- 20:49Speaker 1: hiding in the dark and writing these mean yes, like
- 20:53Speaker 1: that tells me who you really are, you should have
- 20:58Speaker 1: ran great. The wish I have that comes from this
- 21:04Speaker 1: part of the story, though, is the misunderstanding. So when
- 21:07Speaker 1: Brendan finds out who Avery is, and then Avery finds
- 21:10Speaker 1: out who Brendan is, Avery assumes that Brendan knew the
- 21:14Speaker 1: entire time that she was the quote unquote blogger, she
- 21:19Speaker 1: was the coach or whatever. The dear abby. Yeah, this
- 21:25Speaker 1: could have been solved in one easy conversation. But she
- 21:30Speaker 1: was like, you knew the whole time, and you presented
- 21:34Speaker 1: yourself this way and blah blah blah blah blah blah
- 21:36Speaker 1: blah blah. This is classic Hallmark. Yes, I agree that
- 21:43Speaker 1: to me was like, no, he didn't. I mean, yeah,
- 21:48Speaker 1: that part I'll forgive. That's not the unforgivable part though,
- 21:52Speaker 1: like you deceived me part right exactly exactly. Let's move
- 21:56Speaker 1: on to Kimberly sasaid wildly underused in this movie. Yeah.
- 22:00Speaker 1: I had such conflicting feelings about her role because I
- 22:04Speaker 1: was like, I want to root for her, but kind
- 22:07Speaker 1: of unlikable. Like I felt like, do you disagree? Sorry, no,
- 22:13Speaker 1: the woe is me. It was a heavy handed and
- 22:17Speaker 1: when like girl, no, and it when it became clear
- 22:20Speaker 1: that Brandon wasn't into her and she kind of like
- 22:22Speaker 1: kept pushing, I was like, just take the l and
- 22:24Speaker 1: move on, Like he's just not that into you. Why
- 22:26Speaker 1: do you want someone who doesn't want you? Yeah? Whoof
- 22:31Speaker 1: that's rough, it is, it is. But I see this
- 22:35Speaker 1: and I'm look, I'm married for a long time, so
- 22:37Speaker 1: I haven't had to do this, but I am certain
- 22:39Speaker 1: that I did things that if I had to watch
- 22:42Speaker 1: them back, I'd be like, WHOA, girl, that's too much.
- 22:46Speaker 1: But I've never understood. You see it in movies a
- 22:49Speaker 1: lot where someone's breaking up or they're having a conflict
- 22:52Speaker 1: and the other person's pushing back, and I'd be like, whoa,
- 22:54Speaker 1: if they don't want to be in this relationship. Please
- 22:57Speaker 1: do not talk them back into it. No, who wants that? No?
- 23:01Speaker 1: I think that's like a young mindset, you know, if
- 23:04Speaker 1: it's not a hell, yes, it's a no. Right, Yeah, exactly.
- 23:08Speaker 1: And I did feel bad for her at some points.
- 23:10Speaker 1: I felt like she was collateral damage in this whole thing.
- 23:14Speaker 1: But like I was, like, not into her, Like Avery
- 23:18Speaker 1: did her a favor. Cut him loose and move on.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Find someone who's as excited about you as you are
- 23:23Speaker 1: about him. Yeah, exactly. Did you have any other wishes?
- 23:26Speaker 1: That's it me too, let's talk. Did you see that?
- 23:30Speaker 1: I have a few. Actually, Okay. Avery was painting on
- 23:33Speaker 1: a canvas with no paint on her brush, water, no color,
- 23:38Speaker 1: just vibes, dry rush on campus. Did you see it?
- 23:42Speaker 1: I said, just vibes. I'm going to get that made
- 23:45Speaker 1: into a neon sign. I was like, what's happening here?
- 23:49Speaker 1: Make it a little bit believable, right. I also have
- 23:52Speaker 1: another one, the dancing scene at the very end of
- 23:55Speaker 1: the movie in the Mexican restaurant. Everybody is dancing like
- 23:59Speaker 1: it's an uptempost song and the music is slow. Yeah,
- 24:03Speaker 1: and even our two leads are slow dancing, and everybody
- 24:06Speaker 1: else is like fast dancing. That's the only lie put it. Yes,
- 24:13Speaker 1: I know, because they don't play music when they're filming those,
- 24:15Speaker 1: and they added in later and nobody has any idea
- 24:17Speaker 1: what to do. Yeah, it's terrible, terrible, terrible. My last
- 24:22Speaker 1: did you see that? Is when this is just one
- 24:25Speaker 1: of those things that bothered me. Avery's dad is uh,
- 24:29Speaker 1: he's like declaring that Brendan is the one after a
- 24:33Speaker 1: few days. Like he's like, that's a man that's in love.
- 24:36Speaker 1: I'm like, you're not trying to save some twenty year
- 24:38Speaker 1: old marriage here. It's like they've known each other for
- 24:40Speaker 1: two weeks. Like, give it a rest, dad, Yes, yeah,
- 24:45Speaker 1: let it just let it be a little bit. Yeah,
- 24:49Speaker 1: what do you have? Only that the raspberry scone that
- 24:52Speaker 1: Prue serves Kit is absolutely not a scone. It's a Danish.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Oh why wouldn't somebody go, this is not a scone.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Can we just change the line to Danish? Seriously, I
- 25:07Speaker 1: don't understand that kind of stuff. It just isn't a scone.
- 25:11Speaker 1: I'm sorry, looked it looked delicious, but yeah, change the
- 25:16Speaker 1: line on the fly. Sorry, we couldn't get a scone
- 25:19Speaker 1: at our prop bakery. This morning, so whatever, it doesn't matter.
- 25:24Speaker 1: I'm it doesn't matter whatever. Yeah, but uh, let me
- 25:30Speaker 1: hear what you rated this one. I gave it three
- 25:33Speaker 1: point seventy five stars. I gave it three stars. I
- 25:37Speaker 1: did find it enjoyable three stars. Sorry, I know I'm
- 25:42Speaker 1: really picky on these Valentine movies for some reason. Yeah,
- 25:46Speaker 1: this one was head and shoulders above my secret Valentine
- 25:50Speaker 1: for me. I actually found it really enjoyable to watch.
- 25:53Speaker 1: I just had some thoughts like, oh yeah, yeah, but
- 25:57Speaker 1: enjoyable to watch. Yeah, that's fine. From all those other things.
- 26:02Speaker 1: It's kind of like the era of sloppy Hallmark movie making,
- 26:07Speaker 1: Like this is a movie where you can find like
- 26:09Speaker 1: lots of digite that's in it, don't you think so? Yes?
- 26:12Speaker 1: But I also think if you were like I think
- 26:14Speaker 1: it deserves a place on the what Valentine Movies should
- 26:17Speaker 1: I watch? List? Yeah? This would be up there. Yeah,
- 26:21Speaker 1: last week's not up there. Yeah yeah. Hey, thanks for
