- 0:04[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to Three Yards Perkati, a podcast covering the Miami Dolphins and the NFL.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_01]: Now, here's your host, Chris, Alf, and Simon.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: And we're on.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: This is Three Yards Perkati.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: I'm afraid of our Tiaga.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: Chris Kaufman is here.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm in Clancy as here.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_00]: We have the full cast.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_00]: And this show is brought to you by progressive insurance.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_00]: America's number one auto insurer, go to progressive.com for more details.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_00]: All right, we're doing a little fan service here to start the show fans on Twitter on our feed that they've been asking I got very quick answer about this joy port of juniors headed to the Dallas Cowboys so the Dallas Cowboys are now they've turned Mike a Parsons now into because they use one of those picks.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: into Kenny Clark, Quinn and Williams, at first front pick and joy ported junior.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if they've won the trade yet.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, although Michael Parts has been injured.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_00]: But fans have been asking, it costs a second around pick, why aren't you involved?
- 1:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'll give my opinion and then you guys can go.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_00]: I'll get Simon in here first.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_00]: My opinion is very simply this.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think Joey Porter Jr is all that great.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: He's a fine football player, but paying a second-round pick and for the privilege of paying him at least $25 million a year.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: In March, not for me, not for this team.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: No interest whatsoever.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: Your thoughts, Simon.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm pretty similar to you, a nice player.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_02]: He said one really good year, a couple of, is he going to make it kind of years?
- 1:43[SPEAKER_02]: He's extremely, he's extremely physical.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's arguably a physical corner in the league, potentially he's pretty grabby.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not saying it's off the old concerns, but he's a bit shipy.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_02]: But also, just looking at the coverage usage, DVLA, coverage matrix, and things that I was looking at earlier today.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_02]: more this morning.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_02]: You know, the dolphin seemed to be running zone at 68, 69%, 21, 22% in man.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_02]: Now, my salary jack, who's the great ESPN, dolphins report, a great guy, was saying, he has some numbers that were kind of closest, like 55, 45 in favor of his own, but I think we're paying them more zone than that.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_02]: It just doesn't suit Joey Porto, Junior, and I'm just not an advocate of giving up around pigs for guys who I don't think are elite talents.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_02]: when you're looking at two what looks like two really good dry under the game at the 2028 second rounder but what looks like a couple of elite drafts coming down the pipe for a guy who's going to cost you the money that you just said plus the draft capital when Sally wants to use that draft capital to build the team.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_02]: That's to me I'd rather spend the free agent money next you on DJ Turner who's a better cornerback and is going to be you know you're not I'm to give up any money for I'm not going to give up any picks for so that means an absolutely no
- 3:02[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think that it goes with the reluctance and we'll talk about like some of the general trade options for the dolphins because it's not just Joey Ford Jr. that has now already gone off the board, but you know we're talking about Marvin Harris and Jr. the GMs are looking out for him.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_03]: The thing that you have to be very careful with is it's very similar to the free agent thing that John Eric Sullivan has stated explicitly that they are not interested in, which is
- 3:32[SPEAKER_03]: you know buying mercenaries from other teams.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_03]: Who are these players that you're trading for except guys who are problems on their current roster and and and so now you put them on this roster and a building team and
- 3:49[SPEAKER_03]: you know, you don't want that infection of mindset at these early stages, that's the reluctance.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_03]: So if they're going to trade for somebody, they're going to have to feel really exceptionally good.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_03]: about the reason why that person is available that player is available and what he's going to present in the locker room.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_03]: Notice even in the offseason, they had experience with, um, with what Dante be in Wix, right?
- 4:18[SPEAKER_03]: Um, but they didn't trade for him, right?
- 4:20[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, and he went off to the Eagles and he's been, I believe it's been fantastic with the Eagles.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_03]: He's been, he's been a very, uh,
- 4:32[SPEAKER_03]: you know, as far as his production or how he's looking out there, um, but they they had ever reason with this receiver core to say, you know, hey, maybe we can take on the 25-year-old DanteVian wicks for a fifth round pick and they didn't do it.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_03]: And DanteVian wicks was a notable discontent, um, or malcontent, uh, within the back packers, uh, roster last year.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_03]: And I think it's this,
- 5:01[SPEAKER_03]: prioritizing that lockerery vibe to such a maximal maximum degree.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: Just to put joy ported junior here to bed, Simon has the cobblestone finally won the trade or there's still fell short.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: It's it's Quinn and Williams Kenny Clark, a first from pick joy ported junior for Micah Parsons.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_02]: Marker Parsons is still a Hall of Fame player and the most, there's very few players in the NFL who can take over games.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_02]: Marker Parsons is one of those players and probably one of only two defensive players, maybe three if you can outfread Warner.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_02]: Miles Garrett, Michael Parsons, Fred Warner, I mean Parsons is, he will go down as an all-time great, and to me that's, you know, when you consider that you might end up paying Joe y'all the same as what you're going to pay Michael Parsons two years ago.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_02]: I had to make no sense to me what sort of a Kenny, Kenny Clark is Welsh, Squidward Williams is a decent player, but I'd rather have my advice since he's just a, you know, he's a top five player in this league at any age five, so, you know, you know, you never want to be doing.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and they have a first front pick still outstanding.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, we got to see what they turn that first front pick into.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: And that will complete that trade.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm with you.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I still, I'd rather have micropersons.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not one of these people I like to pay $45 million to the defense of players.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I'd rather have micropersons.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: All right, moving on.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: And I guess I'll start with Chris here first.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody like, you know, teams bad.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: or they're not great, they're not very good.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, they're bad.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: And everybody, when you're bad, everybody says, oh yeah, you're not buying anything.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: You're selling off more pieces.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: I don't necessarily think that that's true.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: I think John, John, or Xelvin will be at the deadline.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: You're something presents itself at the right price.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_00]: I think he might be a buyer for a long-term piece.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe there's a savvy trade somewhere.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_00]: I keep forgetting the details of that one trade that Bill Parsell's made, but he made the trade where they won in 1510.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so it's kind of the same thing where he swapped picks.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: He ended up with Anthony Fassano here and another player.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: I keep forgetting who it was.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, he ended up becoming the special teams captain.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: Then went to the Ravens.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: for you had a Nigerian name.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_03]: I am the day, Joe.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_03]: There I am, the day, Joe.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm the day, Joe.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: So, Err.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_03]: So, Err.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_02]: So, Err.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_02]: Was a family?
- 7:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_00]: So, that was a pretty savvy trade, okay, to add a starting tight end and your special teams captain.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: I think John Eric Sullivan might be a buyer at the deadline.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_00]: And if he's not, I think he's probably missing out.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: There should be something out there that can improve the team for the long term.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_00]: Your thoughts, Chris.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_03]: I think that he's going to have, for reasons I've, that I've already, you know, mentioned that the, the standards for what they can do, by the way, was it might have been branded ionification, not not a family, I don't know, just looking at it, but anyway, I think the standards are going to be higher for the incoming players than the outgoing players.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_03]: If that makes sense, like as far as what we do at the trade deadline and what kind of activities John Eric Sullivan might part agent, I think the the guys that are coming in, there's going to be all signs are pointing toward an extremely high bar for what these guys have to meet from a, you know, a locker room, compartment work ethic, you know, everything like that standpoint, you know, why are you available, essentially.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_03]: Whereas the guys that are outgoing, it might be a little bit of a loose sort of decision.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_03]: I do imagine that, you know, even those axiomers playing, I think an important role to them in helping the defensive line pieces, you know, kind of get used to playing defensive line and like a like a true professional,
- 9:19[SPEAKER_03]: At some point in the season, it's going to be like, okay, well, you've had a training camp and half of the season to to help those young players along and now we're going to send you somewhere where you can be you can play for a real competitor.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_03]: And that's, I think that's going to be a consideration to start hoarding our draft picks, especially if you know by that time, you know, imagine we're winless by that time, you know, it's so I think there's that I think Austin Jackson is certainly on the board.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_03]: I think that they're the probably encouraged.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_03]: Even even that like the way Jeff Hathley spoke about him.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_03]: He sort of had like a different tier for Austin Jackson in the way that he talked about like the offensive line and you know is oh yeah we got really good stuff out of, you know, out of Patrick Paul and Aaron Burr there's said they're such good players and you know and and
- 10:28[SPEAKER_03]: You know, like that, that's how it came off and and I've sensed a sort of arms-like distance with Austin Jackson throughout the off season throughout the training camp process, throughout everything.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_03]: That kind of continues on and to be fair to him, Jeff Haffley is the one that brought up, you know, with his struggles against Max Crosby and Nick Bowson's success weeks.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_03]: If we're honest, we didn't
- 10:56[SPEAKER_03]: and that was very true.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_03]: And then what did they do in this game?
- 11:00[SPEAKER_03]: Well, we had more guys held in the block, and the previous two games combined.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_03]: So, and that's going to by the way we're previewing the Vikings game.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_03]: That's probably going to be the same against the Vikings, because they have blitz tendencies.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_03]: According to Jeff Halfway, the blitz tendencies are very similar
- 11:26[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, I think that Austin Jackson is still up on there on the board to be traded and and at some point they're going to make the decision that Caden Wallace who they are putting into the games.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_03]: What are you losing by going down from us to Jackson to Kate and Wallace?
- 11:51[SPEAKER_03]: Like, what are you really losing?
- 11:53[SPEAKER_03]: You know, and I think that's going to be a serious decision.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_03]: So again, lower bar for the outgoing players than for the high bar for the incoming players.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_02]: The other thing to consider as well here is that, you know, you go back and look at the history of Green Bay and the history that John Eric Sullivan has been a part of, you know, you go back to like, from 2019, almost, and that's just as far back as I'm just going there, what Chris is talking, but you know, in 2019, before the deadline, I traded for BJ Goodson, I traded a 7th round peak in 2019 for the BJ Goodson in 2020, they did a draft trade with us, but nothing after that, but then,
- 12:27[SPEAKER_02]: No, they traded players.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_02]: They traded a six round of a Corey Bajorquez that the punter in 2021, in 2022.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_02]: They traded for Colvam Larnan or Tradi Colvam Larnan to the Janks.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_02]: you know that so that the active in the trademark it and he has been part of that 2023 they traded Russell Douglas to the bills for a third round pick in 2024 they traded Preston Smith to the Steelers for a seventh round and then traded the seventh round pick for Malik Willis in August 2024 and then obviously last year apart from the market Parsons trade they also traded the sixth round pick to the Eagles for Daryton Cannard.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_02]: So it's not like he hasn't been part of incomeings
- 13:10[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's not just the market pass that's traded even in part, so I think he understands that if there's a market out there, there will be some guys that potentially could upgrade the team, but also that he could move on for a higher pixel of the ones he might end up giving away.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I tend to agree and you know, you had you shared some some names.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if you want to share them here Simon, but you have some names that maybe could be of interest at the time.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I need to look actually because we take each other and I've been in the phone for that last six hours and all I've got in my head is that phone call.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_02]: There was three players that just mentioned to me, not by Dolphin Source because they were just by a league source, but three players that I think, and not directly involving Miami necessarily or their Miami's name was floated in this arena, let's say.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_02]: And they were Kenneth Gainwell, they were running back obviously because of the injury to Von Hann.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_02]: Again, we're going to do a little bit of everything, run, receive those sorts of things.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_02]: We'll call it all who's kind of a little bit on the out with Jacksonville and could be a could be a possibility to cover, you could play right tackle, it's played left tackle, could play right tackle, could play it inside.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_02]: He's quite a bit, you know, he's a first star player and then obviously the more of this name is Marvin Harrison Jr.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_02]: who clearly just needs to change a scenery from what's happened in Arizona, it's not been working there and you have to kind of wonder why and you look at some of the route running and some of the effort and you're like, you know, is this a team thing or is this a Marvin Harrison thing and you look at his dad and you think, you know, it's not genetic surely to be able to not get around a little bit like this, you know, what's the maybe just needs a different
- 14:44[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, those are the three names that I mentioned and all three would fit, you know, with Miami, potentially.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_02]: They said he wouldn't stop you from drafting a general ask me if there are.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_02]: you know, a Melvin Ciani or whoever it is in terms of that there's equal positions next year and certainly with the running back group when when any Chinese backer Kenneth Gamel just helps that group rather than hinders it so you know I'm not saying it will happen but those were three names that were floated and then one kind of outgoing knowing I know you touched whilst injecting the other name as Josh Uchay who I've heard in a couple of circles as somebody that could be you know obviously my name is part of so she isn't very good
- 15:19[SPEAKER_02]: but I might be able to get something for Joshua UChay, a fifth, a sixth rounder, maybe, for a team looking for some, for some, you know, rotational edge help, so it's that I guess a name would keep an eye on.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, UChay, he was really really good against the chief, so hopefully most of the league was watching.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_03]: One reason that you focus on a Josh U.J.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_03]: as a potential outgoing is because I think he's regarded around the league as a guy who fits in really well with any team as a fifth rusher.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, a good culture fit, but also like, you know, your fifth rusher is that sort of past rusher specialist kind of guy.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_03]: And, and I think that Uchi is starting here.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_03]: So he's one of the four wrestlers, right?
- 16:12[SPEAKER_03]: You know, he's he's starting up at Chopra Robinson.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_03]: But I think that he's regarded well enough around the league that he can plug into a very discreet and popular role.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_03]: around league and he's a good culture guy and he's on the he's on a he's on a low contract as well.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_03]: So so I think that I think that yeah, that's that's a good point.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_03]: The basic minimal contract that he's on.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_03]: Remember that they prepaid they just recently prepaid out.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_03]: So when you pre-pay guys out like that, it just makes them easier for the other team on the other side to absorb.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_03]: Walker Little, you brought up just to put that in context.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_03]: He does, I think, have like an $11 million salary that he's working on for this year.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_03]: But by the time you get them at the trade deadline,
- 17:13[SPEAKER_03]: half of that is probably already paid or almost half of that is probably already paid.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_03]: So it's it's not a small chunk of money to expect Miami did You know take on like say six million or some of the seven million or something like that with a walker little but it's it is a chunk of money and so you know that again it's going to be a pretty high bar for some of the like Marvin Harris and junior I would really not
- 17:40[SPEAKER_03]: Because I think it falls exactly in that, you know, why are you so unhappy?
- 17:44[SPEAKER_03]: Why are things not working out here?
- 17:46[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, okay, we're gonna put you here.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_02]: We're things are not going great.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_02]: That's it.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the new coaching staff, there's not working for either.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_03]: And we're going to put you here where things are not going well either, you know, but we know they're not going well, you know, we know the reason they're not going well, so maybe you feel better about it but still things are not going well here either.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_03]: So it would be a curious decision kind of game will does does you know interest me a little bit like our at least I be curious what they really think.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_03]: Um, they're about him, uh, but yeah, I think I think you brought up a good one with a U. J. Thuroma on the board with Austin Jackson, his ex-healer is possible out of guys or just a kicker in, you know, that might happen, you know, the for some conditional seven or something like that, you know,
- 18:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I completely agree all right.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna go to break and when we come back we'll talk Vikings Dolphins with certain defensive coach on the other side line but first these words and we're back Well Simon it's the Vikings and I haven't seen the line Chris you have a line on this game because I haven't seen the line I know that it was off earlier today
- 19:02[SPEAKER_03]: I can still remember if it's off, that's probably the problem.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_03]: Well, you know, they're waiting on is they're waiting for more clarity on the Justin Jefferson situation, right?
- 19:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't think he's playing.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_00]: He hasn't practiced all week.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_03]: That's the guy that doesn't need to practice.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_03]: So, so that's, you know,
- 19:20[SPEAKER_03]: He, he, he, he of anybody does not need to practice and and it's not a new offense either.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_02]: In points.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, it's minus a minus 600 on the money line.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, yeah, they, they've turned it off on on the acts that I follow, but that's probably where was like before they're starting to wonder what what's going on with Jefferson.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so it's 10.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_00]: This is, I think the first time in a long time, I think that Miami could be competitive and not because they're going to do anything special, it's because the team to plan against happens to have the worst offense in the entire league.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_00]: So by default, they might be in a close game, but I guess you overall thought about this game coming up here Simon.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_00]: I guess it'll be Calamari, who's going to start?
- 20:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I would imagine, sir.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, this is the game that you could just fart around for three quarters and you could look up at the scope where you might be down and touch them.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_00]: So you're thoughts overall on this game coming up on Sunday.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think if it was in Miami, maybe I just think on the road, that stadium was loud, that defense is next level.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_02]: You look at, you know, we talked earlier on and half obviously talked yesterday about the blitzing and, you know, spanks blitzing a lot.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_02]: The chiefs are second of the league in, in terms of blitz rate.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_02]: And there, I think there are like 38.9% or something.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_02]: The Vikings are at 68%, you know, it's all, it's double pretty much what the, and it comes from everywhere, it's Mattella, someone play, then it's Eric Wilson, he's playing like it's out, then it's Harrison Smith, then it's the corners, then it's the, you know, and they're coming, they're mugged up, they're doing all these different things, you know, so it's going to represent a huge change from a league, and it's not like Brian Flores has a point to prove.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_02]: So, I think, you know, especially without A-chan, there's going to have to be some serious...
- 21:15[SPEAKER_02]: It's so hard when you're getting blitz and you've got rookie receivers as well, because they're just not used to the things that you need to do when blitz is happening, when they're kind of in different places in terms of breaking off their routes, or doing what they need to do to help the court survive.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, it's good for milk, because he's mobile, but I suspect he's going to be running around
- 21:35[SPEAKER_02]: in Dallas, Thomas, if I'm Brian Flores, I'm getting him over, Austin Jackson, and all of a lot, and you know, you're expecting the same sorts of level of pressure, certainly in obvious passing situations that we saw with Max Cross being week one and in week two with Nick Bosa.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_02]: So, I think that, I think that,
- 21:53[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't be surprised if we saw the highest blitz rate in any game this season, just because of the inexperience overall and the offense of the fact that Malik's got really young receivers and the Dolphins are a really hamster.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_02]: Look, there may be an opportunity for explosives because when you blitz and he's in the house and we can find the right guy, you know, we get guys free and you sort what happened on Monday night with that brilliant performance by Kase Keenham in terms of Kase Keenham.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_02]: Ollie Gordon or Jalen Wright to come up and rock a blitz.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's an Eric Wilson at 255 pounds or whatever it's going to be.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_02]: And you're kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm supposed to be out here helping Austin Jackson.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_02]: Because here comes Dallas Thomas.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_02]: And oh my god, here's somebody else through the middle.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_02]: And oh my god, here comes a blitz and nickel corner that I haven't seen.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_02]: And who's this guy coming late on a loop?
- 23:09[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, stick or twist.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_02]: And you have to pick the right guy or the one you call it when it's going to get crunch.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_02]: So it's going to be a very, very difficult task, I think.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_02]: be flows going to mean is bad completely because why not, you know, there's a history here between the two teams and he just wants to continue to show, you know, what we can do and and what happened when the bullshit just simply let him go.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_02]: So, yeah, I wouldn't want to really leave some of the Sunday, I think.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I haven't forgotten that this whole mess started to put that head coach and, you know, cost was a first and a third round pick to you know, you could be the good soldiers just take the money and don't snitch on everybody.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_00]: Chris your thoughts.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_03]: I know that this was a different defense, but you know, it kind of, I think back to the last time the Dolphins played Kyler Murray and how he played like a damn hero in that game, right?
- 24:05[SPEAKER_03]: Like he was the Dolphins players came away.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_03]: like, wow, that is a, you played tremendous football.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_03]: I think that the Vikings getting their offense back on track is more inevitable than the dolphins getting their offense on track, if that makes sense.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_03]: Um, you know, there's, there's more reason to suspect that a Vikings offense that has been abysmal, uh, and with quarterback, you know, carousel and all those things going on.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_03]: Um, and the first three games is going to get back and track at home.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, against a dolphin's defense that frankly, we don't know if this defense plays well in the road yet.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_03]: Um, because I pointed this out another podcast.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_03]: In Green Bay there was a decided difference between their effectiveness as a defense under Jeff halfway on the rain versus at home.
- 25:00[SPEAKER_03]: And we've already kind of seen that here, even though it's just one home game, you know, versus two or two road games, right?
- 25:09[SPEAKER_03]: And this is this is at the Minnesota Vikings.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_03]: This is going to be the loud environment.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_03]: It's the crowd is going to be
- 25:18[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm not sure that we're, I'm not sure that we're really on top of things defensively, when an offense has a nice quiet, easy atmosphere to do all their communications to do what they want.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_03]: You know, we mentioned in the previous podcast with Patrick Mahomes getting together with Travis Kelsey to, you know, seeing how the dolphins are playing him.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_03]: And how they're getting lined up prior to this, to the snap, you know, hey, this is what we're going to do.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to hurry it up so that we would get things going before.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_03]: Before they can the defense can get aligned and react to to where we're playing Kelsey.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_03]: You know, stuff like that you can do when you're at home and you have a nice quiet atmosphere and a familiar environment.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm not sure that dolphins defense is up to snuff at defending that kind of thing yet.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_03]: So I think that we, I think we can lose this on defense.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_03]: And and offensively, if Caleb Douglas were playing, I think it would be a little bit of a different story because we missed on a bunch of deep balls against the chiefs.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_03]: And in football, you have a kind of what those kind of have a way of turning around within a week.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_03]: Like, hey, we're driven crazy by the fact that we missed on these deep balls for these various reasons.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_03]: Like, so here we go this week.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to get it down.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_03]: And then, and then before you know the next week, you connect on some of those.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_03]: And, and so normally, I think that that would work out well for the dolphins.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_03]: And also, I think it would work out well for the dolphins that they just had a test run.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_03]: for how to keep in extra blockers and how to play versus a very blitz-happy defense, right?
- 26:55[SPEAKER_03]: So not in in in steps the brain floor as defense.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_03]: Those are things that kind of work in favor of the dolphins except Caleb Douglas is not there.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_03]: So you got like five foot 10 inch four four eight kind of speedsters run in these deep routes.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_03]: instead of a six foot four four three eight kind of guy.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_03]: And I think that that that matters unless Chris Bell just goes off right you know if Chris Bell just goes off and you know who knows.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_03]: So I think the dolphins offense could get some things done.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_03]: But I see the Dolphins defense kind of reverting on this one.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the box, the box face third and 36, third and 29, third and 19, third and 17 and third and 16 last weekend on nine drives.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_02]: The thing I, and I watch a little bit of that take, the thing I find that's kind of so diabolical of what flow is doing is that
- 27:48[SPEAKER_02]: They're blitzing, but they're hot dropping to take away the hot read, the quarterbacks hot read, so you look at what happens against Chicago.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_02]: They're mugging up the linebackers in the middle.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's complicated to explain without shot, but essentially, so they might have six men on the line.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_02]: They blitz the two linebackers, while the defensive tackle drops out,
- 28:10[SPEAKER_02]: and one of the ends for the opposite side drops out and covers the hot dropper and then they blitz the nickel as well and it's just like you have no idea who's coming, why they're coming, where they're coming from, on the next down, the mugged up guys mug up both ends drop out and then both corners, and the safety is kind of, you know, it's it's why the way that he's doing it, he has a line back as sort of dropping back as a third safety in the two safety's go out,
- 28:35[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, that middle safety slash linebacker isn't being threatened because you just don't have to have to throw the ball, you know what I mean, it's just impossible.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_03]: I brought it up.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_03]: I'll just say real quick.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_03]: I brought it up on the previous podcast that, um, well, uh, you know, that alpha and I did, you know, on that fourth and sixth that effectively ended the game, um, for the dolphins this last week, you know, that was a zero blitz that's bags brought, right?
- 29:03[SPEAKER_03]: And, and yes, the dolphins were hurrying up to line because there was operations issues.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_03]: But, um, but it was, uh, it was a zero blitz and I would swear to you, but by looking
- 29:13[SPEAKER_03]: that Dolphins did not read the zero blitch and did not break off hot.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_03]: And Malik Wallace was looking for him, and so he had to, he had to move over to Kevin Coleman, who wasn't going to be open against press in that route.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_03]: And so that just ended up looking at very pathetic useless play.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_03]: The Dolphins are now on top of their hearts, in my opinion.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_03]: You know, a schematically and, and from a teaching standpoint and everybody reading the right things and being on the same page with one mother.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_03]: This is not the team to get tested against if you're not on top of your hots.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_00]: People forget that, that a brand force came into prominence by smashing shummit vase offense on consecutive games, including one of them being the Super Bowl.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_00]: And then it became actually a thing when he went to Minnesota.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_00]: He played the Rams a couple more times and man, those problems continued for Sean McFey until Sean McFey decided, you know what?
- 30:13[SPEAKER_00]: Let me go in the lab because this thing looks like it could be a thing going forward with the Minnesota Vikings especially after they won 14 games that one year.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_00]: So Sean McVay decided to revamp his attack against those zero blitzes and Brian Flores's defense.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_00]: And what he started doing and they had a lot of success and of course we're talking to Pook and a cool we're talking Matthew Stafford, Karen Williams, we don't have those players.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_00]: But still, it's a, it's a strategic point because his offense is work getting smashed by Brian Flores.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_00]: He started building in run actions on every single play and essentially moving the pocket because of the run actions and that was delaying the pressure.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_00]: And by delaying the pressure, it was buying a little bit more time for the quarterback.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_00]: what I'm most interested in in this game.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_00]: And I guess we'll go around the around the horn here, what we're most interested in before we do our picks.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_00]: What I'm most interested in, what is the plan from Bobby Sloak?
- 31:15[SPEAKER_00]: What is he going to do?
- 31:16[SPEAKER_00]: What is his plan to defeat this pressure package that Brian Flores is gonna bring?
- 31:22[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I'll be watching.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_00]: To see if they do something new or they're just gonna sit back and just call hots
- 31:30[SPEAKER_00]: or just move the pocket.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_00]: But I want to see if they do something creative like what Shawn McVade did, where it was in Cessan.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_00]: It was just run action, run action, run action, every, even on third and eighth, they're running a run action.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_00]: Because it was delaying the rush.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_00]: So I guess I'll start with you Simon.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_00]: What are you most interested in seeing in this game?
- 31:52[SPEAKER_02]: Think a lot of what they've done already.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_02]: You go back and look at the Washington Precies and gain the single drive.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_02]: You go back and look at how they're able to move the ball against the radar.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_02]: You go back and look at those long drives against the 49ers last week, the 17 plane 93, 91 or whatever it was, y'all drive.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_02]: What they've done a really good job of, I think, is those short passes to be able to move the chains.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_02]: And that's what you do to defeat a blitz.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_02]: So it's the best way to get around a blitz.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_02]: It is short, quick passes into spaces that are left open underneath the slarts, the flats, some of the screens before those guys can tear off.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_02]: It's identifying where the hot drop is at, which is very hard to do, but I think that's flowing and the leak is done a really good job of just getting guys leaked out into the flat on their short yard on the short place where you're picking up five, six, seven yards.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_02]: If you can supplement that with a couple of Olly Gordon runs, pick up three on first down and
- 32:40[SPEAKER_02]: and four on second now so that you don't get behind the sticks and then you're faced with third and three, the milk can use as legs to pick up a first out or you can find those soft areas when you're facing blitz to be able to just hit those little lead count throws, the Casmaric or Dolce H or whoever it is that the fallback Herman picking up four or five six yards just keep moving the chains.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_02]: They've done a really proficient job of doing that.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_02]: and then taking advantage is the holes that you find and they will be things that you find on tape you know and hopefully they can see one or two of those to to take some shots down the field as Chris says I don't think Caleb Douglas will play this weekend which is going to be you know a problem and you're taking their two best offensive weapons out with a channel of a seat but you know I think there can be hate there is hate to be had if they can find the right you know openings but I do think it's going to be a tough afternoon for some of the unfortunately
- 33:32[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think that Simon is right to bring up those long drives because I think, you know, if you're worried about the design of blitzes and and pace of blitzes from a Brian for as then.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_03]: you know what takes that out is the run game right is that if you can if you can get that going um then it can really it can really minimize uh those situations um but in order to do that you have to play clean football you know you have to play clean and clean.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah yeah and and we haven't seen that there listen there I'm not gonna kill them on penalties they're around the middle of the league
- 34:13[SPEAKER_03]: and recorded NFL history emphasis I'm recording because that's an interesting he said once you cross midfield we're first in the league well yeah i i i think that's i don't know i think that that's data i think that data diving um a little bit like uh you know yeah there's always
- 34:31[SPEAKER_03]: whenever there's always going to be some split that stands out like oh my god that's it's crazy but like no I think they're about middle of the league penalties which for a young team that's an accomplishment but at the same time they're not low of the league and probably they're they're middle of the league and penalties this is the situation where you probably can't afford them against this defense in particular.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_03]: So they're going to go, they're going to try and go with the run.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_03]: I would keep an eye on Malik Wash to set up before in the run game because, you know, we're all like, oh, is it going to be all at Goallie Gorgon?
- 35:02[SPEAKER_03]: Is it going to be Jalen Wright?
- 35:04[SPEAKER_03]: I think Malik Washington has a role to play here in non-standard run, run plays, you know, stuff that you might have seen in a Mike McDonald playbook, which surprisingly, you know, I was kind of comparing them a little bit what we're doing this year from personal groupings and kind of what we're doing and
- 35:21[SPEAKER_03]: You know, there's there's there's still a lot of carryover from from the Mike McDaniel offense in this offense.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_03]: So I think that, you know, watch out for him, but otherwise we're going to see more people kept it to keep a cleaner pocket and give Malik Washington as much time as he can to to find what he what he needs to as much time in his and space as they can to find what he needs to.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_03]: They're probably going to be
- 35:51[SPEAKER_03]: And they know they have to keep like listen you got a guy with 60 art arm and last week that's what he did on several deep balls like I am going to throw it heave that ball 60 yards, you know, and show you that loosens up a defense and stairs defense coordinator on its own.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_03]: you know, just even if you don't necessarily complete them.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_03]: But I think they're going to keep taking some of those.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_03]: They're going to focus otherwise on the the run game, the short runs, the screen, kind of stuff to make you pay for those blitz approaches.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_03]: And then, you know, ultimately it's just, you know, I see just kind of a balance of the, I think we have some things
- 36:36[SPEAKER_03]: And so, you know, it's kind of a balanced approach, whereas on the defensive side of the ball, I think, you know, I think Minnesota's offense has more going in their favor, especially just in Jefferson does end up playing that our defense does.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_03]: in a different and a eroded environment.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_00]: All right, it's time to pick the game and I'll go first.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_00]: The total is 38 and a half and the game is now on and where I play these games and they have it at 11 for for the Vikings.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_00]: I'm tempted to take Miami to cover here, but I think it's going to fall right on the number.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_00]: And, but I do like the under.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_00]: So I think I, I think we're going to have another game where we're going to look at the defense and say, you know what?
- 37:20[SPEAKER_00]: They were kind of good enough.
- 37:23[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't think that the offense is just going to get right against this defense in particular, which I think is a high level defense.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_00]: I think it is a top 10 defense in the NFL, so man, I'm going to drop them right on the number, and I'm going to say Vikings 20 Miami 9, so right on the 11, your thoughts Simon.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, same vein, but maybe not 36.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_03]: I was going to go with like a 28 17 and the over on the the point scoring.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_03]: I think Minnesota gets going offensively.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_03]: It gets back to start to get back on track.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_03]: But I do think that the dolphins could do some damage
- 38:09[SPEAKER_00]: Alright, one last thing that I forgot to mention it, I said we're gonna do a little bit of fanservice here.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_00]: Jacob Rodriguez is now the favorite to win defensive rookie of the year.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_00]: Very quickly, your thoughts on that Simon.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, a long way to go, but I mean, you can't feel to be impressed by how he's played, but also the thing about Rodriguez is, and this thing, these things matter, he's a very
- 38:34[SPEAKER_02]: likable, bankable, personality, and story in terms of that kind of, you know, how the NFL loves a great story.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_02]: You know, one of the Buckress, one of the Bombardy, one of the bednarric, you know, one pretty much every defensive award he was possible to win last year.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_02]: He's got the task, he's got the, you know, he's got the Y through flies in the military.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_02]: It's a great story for the NFL to get behind.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_02]: But, you know, he's matching that, you know, it's not going to be given to him, but he's certainly matching that on the field with some pretty stellar play.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_02]: He's also a green door, you know, in his first season, and they aren't making that many stupid mistakes, which I think fundamentally says an awful lot about how what he's doing.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_03]: First, heading, coming out of the draft, I thought he would probably be the best, the best rookie on the dolphins, right?
- 39:20[SPEAKER_03]: And, you know, just based on how he played.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_03]: But there was one thing that you had to get beyond,
- 39:26[SPEAKER_03]: then initial, you know, make your debut.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_03]: Are you, are you bullshit or not, you know, forgive my pardon, my French?
- 39:35[SPEAKER_03]: You know, he, no, he's the same player he wasn't called.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_03]: And since since you already know that he is the player that he was in college at the NFL level, it's not too big for him.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_03]: It's not, you know, something weird didn't happen, something spooky didn't happen.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_03]: Then you have to say, again, this is probably our best draft pick.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_03]: this is probably you know put them all stack them all next to each other.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_03]: He's going to have a better career than Caden Proctor and Chris Johnson and everybody else and that's not a denigrating you know that's not denigrating any of those guys but he's going to be their best after it.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_02]: That's it.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_02]: It's like he did against Chris Jones that we can.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_02]: He is going to be a long term old pro.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he is
- 40:18[SPEAKER_03]: quite good.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_03]: He was very, and I say that, like, proctor is the guy that will threaten because of that potential, like Quentin, that Quentin Nelson is within his range, right?
- 40:29[SPEAKER_02]: It was a serious type of the weekend.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so the encouraging.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_03]: So those two kind of might be neck and neck, but ultimately I think in the horse race you would have to say three weeks in at this point now that we found out that yes he can play at the NFL level that's our best draft draft pick right now.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I've never been so excited for a bad team ever.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_00]: This draft class has been feeling a certain kind of way.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_00]: Even the three wide receiver, I like the three wide receivers.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_00]: And Chris Bell's tape looks better and better.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_00]: The more you watch it from last week, I posted one play where he absolutely demolishes Nick Bolton.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_00]: And that's another thing that all three guys have going for them.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_00]: All three wide receivers, they like to block.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_00]: They get involved in the run game.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, the team is not very good.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_02]: Can I just say, it wouldn't take much for this team to be really good, really quickly, okay?
- 41:26[SPEAKER_02]: If these drafted players who are going to get huge amount of experience this year can continue to graduate and if Malik continues to graduate, you look at next year's, you know, Miami gonna have a hundred plus million houses spinning free as you see, and I know that I know that Sally has talked about, you know, being careful of whatever, but they're gonna have to spend some money on some players,
- 41:47[SPEAKER_02]: and they'll spend the money on the right players.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_02]: But just just look for a minute and think.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_02]: go out and get yourself a Josh Downs, for example, from Indianapolis, okay?
- 41:56[SPEAKER_02]: Samlookort is a free agent.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_02]: Let's just say you can add those two players on offense, okay?
- 42:00[SPEAKER_02]: And then you drop Jeremiah Smith.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_02]: All of a sudden, your offense has got an offensive line that looks pretty good, especially left through middle, okay?
- 42:07[SPEAKER_02]: You've got a quarterback that you're pretty confident about, and you've got Devon H, and one of the best running backs in the NFL.
- 42:12[SPEAKER_02]: I receive it, and then you've got Chris Bell, Caleb Dougness, Josh Downs, Jeremiah Smith, and a tight end of York Cosmetic, and Samlookorter.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_02]: All of a sudden you like
- 42:20[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, this team looks pretty good.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_02]: And then defensively, you add yourself, let's say a DJ Turner from Cincinnati, and then you get yourself one of those past rushes, whether that's bright, you're one of the rounds, whether that's Yard, the RB, whether that's to E2, Bluetooth, and you add a couple of defensive stalwarts in the draft as well.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_02]: And all of a sudden, you're like,
- 42:40[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, this team is suddenly training towards, you know, nine and eight and in seven, you're knocking on the door of the playoffs because this is still a young team.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_02]: You're investing a Brian Brach is a free agent and I was kind of the knee injury, but you know, and if you draft well, let's say you manage to, let's say you have the number one pick and you manage to move down because somebody wants Mr. Maker or somebody wants, you know, CJ Carr or whoever it is.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_02]: And you'd go down a couple of spots, you pick up a couple of extra picks, you still land
- 43:09[SPEAKER_02]: and you use that second first round.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_02]: There's a, say for example, Melvin Ciani at right tackle or you use it on another corner, like an Ashton Hampton or whatever.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_02]: And all of a sudden, this thing turns around really, really, really quickly.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_02]: They've got the money to do it.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_02]: If you draft really well and they bring in three or four really good, well researched under the radar free agents, like a DRB, like a downs, a couple of others, and you're like,
- 43:34[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, this team has gone places in a hurry and I don't say that lightly and I'm you know me very well know me for 20 years.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gas half empty but the vision appears Equically the road map appears pretty quickly.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_02]: I'm front at me.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_02]: I think at this point
- 43:50[SPEAKER_03]: And I just I want to extend on that just a little bit and focus instead of on the outside on the internal a growth that that that that's going to happen and how quickly that can happen because what you're seeing right now is nearly all bill parcel saying if they don't fight as puppies they don't buy right so what that translates to for with all these young players is the good looks really good.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_03]: Like you're seeing, you're putting on tape, you're like, wow, that Chris Bell, that Chris Bell route looked phenomenal, you know, or that that that Caleb Douglas route looked phenomenal, that, you know, the good looks really good, but the bad also looks really bad, because the bad is like rookie mistake level bad, which is I'm literally not in the right place.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_03]: I'm literally, you know, not lined up when I end we get a touchdown called back because of it.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_03]: I'm looking, you know, these, the bad is really bad, but the good is really good.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_03]: that lower level, the bad being really bad is what comes up.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_03]: The floor comes up on a young guy, as he gets more and more experience.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_03]: Like there's less of that really bad and the extent of the bad gets comes up quickly.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_03]: That's the thing that happens the most quickly with these young players and rookie and rookies is they start eliminating the really bad and when you have the good looking really good in the bad looking really bad what do you have.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_03]: But a team that looks exactly like the dolphins do they're getting blown out because you've got to string together play after play after play and you can't do that when the bad is that bad, you know, it's just it's a mathematical possibility actually, you know, so as that floor starts to come up on these young players.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_03]: The difference will make your head spin like how quickly that difference can happen will make your head spin and it's because of that internal growth.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_03]: It's because of where those young players start getting to to where they can be consistent and they're not you know like my bad is no longer going to be that I we get a whole play called back because I just didn't know where to line up.
- 45:54[SPEAKER_03]: You know, like that's not going to, if that doesn't happen any more than what does happen, or you're going to see a lot more of that good, you know, and you're going to see, you're going to see it result in points on offense or defensively, you know, fewer plays like that, you know, that Travis Kelsey, some of those Travis Kelsey bangers from the weekend.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, just like a photo Panthers head coach Paul Maurice was asked over the weekend, you know, about all the over women talent that the Panthers have a mask, and what does it mean to him as a head coach, and he said, it just means I can make many more mistakes on the bench, and they'll just overcome it with talent.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_00]: Miami is not it.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_00]: They're not there yet.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_00]: I think it could be in years time.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_00]: Alright, that's it.
- 46:39[SPEAKER_00]: There is no more a Monday.
- 46:41[SPEAKER_00]: We will be armed with results.
- 46:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's a possibility.
- 46:44[SPEAKER_00]: This could be a rock fight.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_00]: If it is, you never know.
- 46:48[SPEAKER_00]: But, till then.
