- 0:15Speaker 1: Let's take some calls. Eight hundred three two one to
- 0:18Speaker 1: zero seven ten is the number. Let's go to Maureen
- 0:21Speaker 1: in New York. Maureene, how you doing good morning?
- 0:25Speaker 4: More?
- 0:26Speaker 5: Yes, Maureen, I just wanted to tell you that I'm
- 0:30Speaker 5: really exciting you're what putting some kind of camera and
- 0:34Speaker 5: monitoring And I hooked him right because it's like the
- 0:38Speaker 5: wild West out there, so.
- 0:42Speaker 1: You want to speak on that road. Yeah, your phone
- 0:44Speaker 1: is cutting out. The call us back. Let's go to
- 0:48Speaker 1: Bob in Connecticut. Bob, how you doing.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Okay?
- 0:52Speaker 3: Mark?
- 0:52Speaker 2: But I get aggravated. I hear on the radio TV
- 0:57Speaker 2: they called this that disease that helped destroy our economy, COVID.
- 1:03Speaker 2: It's not you call it what it is, It's faucy disease.
- 1:09Speaker 1: All right. Foster Brooks checking in with us, Thanks for calling.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Let's go to Dave in Chicago. Dave, how you doing?
- 1:17Speaker 3: Good morning?
- 1:17Speaker 4: Mark?
- 1:17Speaker 6: I'm doing very well.
- 1:18Speaker 4: Thank you. Mark.
- 1:19Speaker 6: We know that recently Spirit Airlines has gone out of
- 1:22Speaker 6: business and seventeen thousand of their former employees are suing
- 1:27Speaker 6: A couple of questions, if you please, Who decides on
- 1:30Speaker 6: who gets their former roots and what happens to their
- 1:34Speaker 6: fleet of planes?
- 1:36Speaker 1: Well, I guess you can sell the planes. Other airlines
- 1:40Speaker 1: will take over those routes. I guess they got to
- 1:41Speaker 1: go to FAA and do all that stuff. Some of
- 1:44Speaker 1: the roots will just go away. But it's a good
- 1:46Speaker 1: question the employees. Hopefully they all find jobs soon. But
- 1:50Speaker 1: thanks for calling, Dave. Let's go to Stuart, South Carolina. Stuart,
- 1:55Speaker 1: how you doing, Hey, lor Caroll.
- 1:57Speaker 4: You know we've discussed this before about to speed cameras
- 2:01Speaker 4: and light cameras. I believe they're completely unconstitutional. You know,
- 2:06Speaker 4: many many people that I stopped, I gave breaks to.
- 2:09Speaker 4: In South Carolina, we allowed twelve to fifteen miles an
- 2:13Speaker 4: hour over When you start just carte blanch sending people
- 2:18Speaker 4: speeding tickets for whatever they set over the speed limit,
- 2:21Speaker 4: that's just communistic. You have a right to face your accuser.
- 2:26Speaker 4: I've never seen a speed camera show up in court
- 2:29Speaker 4: to testify against the individual that was speeding. I cannot believe,
- 2:35Speaker 4: at the bottom my soul that anybody would be in favor.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Of these things.
- 2:38Speaker 4: Well, it is completely outrageous. It's just a revenue getter,
- 2:42Speaker 4: is what it is.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're one of these, there are lawyers who
- 2:45Speaker 1: just do traffic tickets. But what they do. The only
- 2:47Speaker 1: thing you can do. You go into court. You argue
- 2:49Speaker 1: speed camera wasn't tested recently, wasn't calibrated correctly, that kind
- 2:54Speaker 1: of stuff. That's all you can argue the inspection of Yeah,
- 2:58Speaker 1: I'd just.
- 2:58Speaker 4: Like to say that if I go into court, if
- 3:01Speaker 4: I'm running speeding tickets, I go into court. If the
- 3:04Speaker 4: people pay off, that's fine. If they show up, I
- 3:06Speaker 4: testify against them. And if people want to pay off
- 3:09Speaker 4: these speeding tickets to the state, you know, that's fine.
- 3:12Speaker 4: But how do you go into court and argue about
- 3:15Speaker 4: this with a camera? You cannot do it. I think
- 3:19Speaker 4: they are completely unconstitutional. I'd like to know what speed
- 3:22Speaker 4: limit they're going to set these at? Over fifty five
- 3:26Speaker 4: and you know dorn Well, as you said, if they
- 3:28Speaker 4: go into work zones, they're going to expand these everywhere.
- 3:32Speaker 4: And it is just outrageous. At red lights when they
- 3:35Speaker 4: have these red light cameras, people are slamming on the brakes,
- 3:38Speaker 4: hitting people in the back. That they have a lot
- 3:41Speaker 4: of accidents at these things because people don't want tickets.
- 3:45Speaker 4: But then you sit behind that line and you're stuck
- 3:47Speaker 4: there because people keep going through the green, but when
- 3:50Speaker 4: it turns red, you can't go. If you do, you're
- 3:53Speaker 4: going to get a red light ticket. They're just an abomination.
- 3:58Speaker 4: And I cannot believe anybody's.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Out of work. It's replacing them. That's good.
- 4:03Speaker 4: Well, no, really, we have a lot to do, but
- 4:06Speaker 4: it is. Yeah, it is absolutely yeaut rageous.
- 4:09Speaker 1: All right, great call Stuart, thanks for calling. Let's go
- 4:12Speaker 1: to Mike and Yonkers. Mike, how you doing good?
- 4:15Speaker 3: Mark?
- 4:15Speaker 1: How are you good?
- 4:16Speaker 7: I just want to get back you both the h
- 4:19Speaker 7: the speed cameras back up and also the license plates
- 4:21Speaker 7: readers from last week. There's they did an investigation. There's
- 4:26Speaker 7: Ben Jordan, the technologist did an investigation. Is in heavent
- 4:29Speaker 7: flaws in these cameras and and their broke head. He
- 4:33Speaker 7: was able to access live data and archive data. It's
- 4:38Speaker 7: being broadcast directly to the open Internet without aim you
- 4:41Speaker 7: SI you know, you don't need any security to get
- 4:43Speaker 7: archive to to access it or anything like that. And
- 4:47Speaker 7: also it also has these cameras have artificial intelligence in
- 4:50Speaker 7: them where they can identify an individual and monitor their
- 4:54Speaker 7: movements as well.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a good point. Thanks for calling you. We
- 4:57Speaker 1: mentioned that a couple of days ago. These can these
- 5:00Speaker 1: speed cameras are not from the government. It's a private
- 5:03Speaker 1: company that makes them, installs them, and runs them. Government
- 5:06Speaker 1: hires this private company, and apparently they're collecting data on people.
- 5:10Speaker 1: You know, when the camera catches you speeding, that's one thing,
- 5:13Speaker 1: but it can also get your license number from that,
- 5:15Speaker 1: it can get your address, your name, it can start
- 5:18Speaker 1: investigating you all over the internet, selling your data. You know,
- 5:22Speaker 1: everybody assumes that's a government camera. It's a private company.
- 5:26Speaker 1: And other problems these speed cameras. Again, what do you
- 5:31Speaker 1: do in court? Now? A lot of people to get
- 5:32Speaker 1: a ticket, not a lot of people, but some people
- 5:34Speaker 1: will hire an attorney. There's attorneys who are great at
- 5:37Speaker 1: speeding tickets. Now, who wants to spend thousands of dollars
- 5:40Speaker 1: for an attorney when you could just pay the ticket
- 5:42Speaker 1: for a couple hundred. But you know, if you're a
- 5:46Speaker 1: rich guy and you've got a problem, and you've been
- 5:50Speaker 1: caught a few times and you don't want to lose
- 5:52Speaker 1: your license, or get it suspended. You hire one of
- 5:54Speaker 1: these attorneys and all they can do in the court
- 5:57Speaker 1: is argue that the camera wasn't properly installed. They'll check
- 6:00Speaker 1: the inspection stickers on it. It wasn't inspected recently, it's
- 6:04Speaker 1: not calibrated. Correct. You can do that kind of stuff.
- 6:06Speaker 1: But that's about it. Let's go to Mark and Staten
- 6:09Speaker 1: island Mark. How you doing?
- 6:11Speaker 3: Yeah, h these speak cameras. If I lend my car
- 6:14Speaker 3: to somebody and they speeding, who pays the insurance penalty?
- 6:18Speaker 1: Well that's an interesting question, but I think it's you
- 6:23Speaker 1: because otherwise you have to you have to go to
- 6:25Speaker 1: court and prove it. You'd have to go into a
- 6:27Speaker 1: courtroom and argue about it.
- 6:29Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, also, the fifty five mile hole speed limit,
- 6:32Speaker 3: with the federally mandated speed limit started with Nixon and
- 6:35Speaker 3: seventy three is responsibly opec oil crisis. I just want
- 6:39Speaker 3: to say that for your record.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Yeah, so again, the fifty five milar speedlim was only
- 6:44Speaker 1: to save gas, only to save oil, had nothing to
- 6:48Speaker 1: do with speeding being dangerous or anything like that. So
- 6:51Speaker 1: put it back to sixty five. It's still sixty five.
- 6:54Speaker 1: You know, you get outside the city. You're up there
- 6:56Speaker 1: on the you know, once you get past everything, sixty five,
- 7:02Speaker 1: everybody's going sixty five, they'll argue, well, safer at fifty five.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Everybody's been going sixty five anyway, so it wouldn't make
- 7:08Speaker 1: much difference. Hey, when we come back. The great comedian
- 7:12Speaker 1: Jimmy Fayla, he's on with us now every night, nine
- 7:15Speaker 1: to midnight. Excellent show every night, nine to midnight, and
- 7:18Speaker 1: we'll talk to him next on seven to ten. Wor
