- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:02Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. One of the things about Jeffrey Epstein and
- 0:07Speaker 1: the company that he kept is that a lot of
- 0:09Speaker 1: those people resided in ivory towers. They're the kind of
- 0:14Speaker 1: people that will tell the rest of us how to
- 0:16Speaker 1: live our lives, what we should do, where we should go,
- 0:20Speaker 1: what we should eat, what kind of music to listen to,
- 0:22Speaker 1: what shows to watch. And that's during the day, but
- 0:25Speaker 1: at night, when they're mass slips, that's when the bachan
- 0:28Speaker 1: all of debauchery begins. And in this episode, we're going
- 0:31Speaker 1: to focus on Jeffrey Epstein and his relationship with Deepak Chopra.
- 0:38Speaker 1: And to do that, we have an article from Salon headline,
- 0:42Speaker 1: Deepak Chopra, Jeffrey Epstein and those Q girl emails. This
- 0:47Speaker 1: article was authored by Nicole Carlis. In July twenty sixteen,
- 0:52Speaker 1: best selling author and wellness guru what the fuck does
- 0:55Speaker 1: that even mean? Wellness Guru Deepak Chopra contacted Jeffrey Epstein,
- 1:00Speaker 1: the wealthy financier and convicted sex offender, to thank them
- 1:04Speaker 1: for his hospitality by email. Chopra wrote that he was
- 1:07Speaker 1: glad that the philanthropist Barnaby Marsh had introduced them in person.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Chopra added that he was grateful for what he saw
- 1:15Speaker 1: as the beginning of a friendship. After Epstein was already convicted.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Mind you, this dude's out here, John about how great
- 1:24Speaker 1: of a time he's having with the diddler himself. Within
- 1:28Speaker 1: a few weeks this new friendship deepened. They exchanged gossipy
- 1:31Speaker 1: emails about Epstein's friendship with Donald Trump and Marlon Maples,
- 1:35Speaker 1: Trump's second wife. Epstein recounted a story about losing a
- 1:39Speaker 1: ten thousand dollars bet to Trump and about a friend
- 1:42Speaker 1: of Maples who was rumored to have used high hill
- 1:45Speaker 1: shoes as sex toys. What the fuck high hill shoes like?
- 1:50Speaker 1: Not for nothing? A dildo doesn't do the trick. Not
- 1:54Speaker 1: to get too far off subject here, but I've never
- 1:55Speaker 1: understood this. You see these stories of people that go
- 1:58Speaker 1: to like the emergency room with a mayonnaise jar up
- 2:01Speaker 1: their ass. Buddy, what are you doing? Go to the
- 2:05Speaker 1: sex store and get yourself the proper object. Choprah responded,
- 2:11Speaker 1: nothing human is foreign to me, attributing that to a
- 2:14Speaker 1: Roman poet whose name I forget. Paraphrase slightly. The quotation
- 2:19Speaker 1: is actually from the Roman playwright Terrence. Anything we share
- 2:23Speaker 1: is between us, Chopra wrote to Epstein later that same July.
- 2:27Speaker 1: I share nothing with anyone, but trust you. Imagine trusting
- 2:32Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein. Buddy, don't you have the Internet, Deepak Chopra,
- 2:36Speaker 1: wherever you live, whatever cave you're dwelling in, whatever billion
- 2:40Speaker 1: dollar mansion you live in, whatever it might be. If
- 2:43Speaker 1: you guys don't have the news there because everybody knew
- 2:46Speaker 1: at that point that Jeffrey Epstein was a sick, fucking degenerate,
- 2:51Speaker 1: and anybody's still spending time with them, Well, I have
- 2:55Speaker 1: to question you as a fellow traveler. To three and
- 3:00Speaker 1: a half million Epstein files so far released by the
- 3:02Speaker 1: Department of Justice, Chopra's name appears more than thirty three
- 3:06Speaker 1: hundred times. Since duplicate messages frequently recur in different places
- 3:11Speaker 1: in the Epstein files, the actual number of messages between
- 3:14Speaker 1: Chopra and Epstein is somewhat less than that. What the
- 3:19Speaker 1: numerous emails and texts between the two men suggest is
- 3:21Speaker 1: an intimate and affectionate relationship that went beyond the business
- 3:26Speaker 1: or financial connection. And that was Epstein, him and all
- 3:30Speaker 1: his little buddies all these so called elites breaking bread,
- 3:36Speaker 1: enjoying his largesse, and some of them enjoying a whole
- 3:40Speaker 1: lot more. Guess who wasn't enjoying themselves though, that's right
- 3:44Speaker 1: the survivors. While they came from very different backgrounds and
- 3:47Speaker 1: professional trajectories Epstein from the world of high finance and
- 3:51Speaker 1: Chopra from New Age philosophy, spirituality and medicine, the two
- 3:57Speaker 1: seem to enjoy discussing the nature of consciousness and the
- 4:00Speaker 1: other of truth topics. They shared an unexplained inside joke,
- 4:05Speaker 1: referring multiple times to the Tiger. Their exchanges suggest that
- 4:09Speaker 1: Chopra visited Epstein's homes in New York and Palm Beach,
- 4:13Speaker 1: locations where some of Epstein's abuse or apparent criminal acts
- 4:17Speaker 1: took place. There's no evidence that Choprah was aware of
- 4:21Speaker 1: Epstein's criminal abuses, but on at least five occasions, as
- 4:24Speaker 1: documented in the FBI files, Chopra mentioned Epstein's girls and
- 4:29Speaker 1: apparent reference to young women who frequently accompanied Epstein. How
- 4:33Speaker 1: Choprah perceived or understood these women's relationship to Epstein is
- 4:37Speaker 1: not clear. Oh, well, he'll tell you he had no idea.
- 4:41Speaker 1: They were just girls that were around Jeffrey Epstein, because
- 4:44Speaker 1: you know, Epstein was such a casanova, such a hunk.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I'm sure that all the women out there listening to
- 4:51Speaker 1: the podcast would just love to have a guy like Epstein.
- 4:54Speaker 1: I mean, don't women love ear lobes that run all
- 4:57Speaker 1: the way down somebody's head like a sideburn. Almost everyone
- 5:03Speaker 1: reading this has already heard a Chopra, who is one
- 5:06Speaker 1: of the biggest names in the New Age movement and
- 5:08Speaker 1: the wellness based Some might argue he's America's top well
- 5:11Speaker 1: being expert. The seventy nine year old physician and bestselling
- 5:15Speaker 1: author has published more than ninety books. Frequently described as
- 5:19Speaker 1: a guru, Choprah has served as a spiritual advisor to
- 5:23Speaker 1: some of the biggest celebrities in the world, including Elizabeth
- 5:26Speaker 1: Taylor and Michael Jackson. What No r Kelly No Diddy?
- 5:30Speaker 1: Choprah Todd Jackson meditation at Neverland, the late singers California
- 5:35Speaker 1: home where Jackson was alleged to have sexually abused at
- 5:38Speaker 1: least two young boys. There's no evidence that Choprah observed
- 5:42Speaker 1: any impropriety during his friendship with Jackson. I know people
- 5:46Speaker 1: have a lot of heated opinions about Michael Jackson one
- 5:49Speaker 1: way or the other. But I don't know enough about
- 5:51Speaker 1: the case to give you an opinion. I have no idea.
- 5:54Speaker 1: But the allegations that were made are concerning Oprah. Winfrey,
- 5:58Speaker 1: one of Chopra's or as champions and business partners, gave
- 6:02Speaker 1: him a huge boost with TV appearances in the early nineties.
- 6:06Speaker 1: In twenty twenty one, Chopra and Winfrey launched a meditation
- 6:10Speaker 1: course together. Chopra's website says he's on a mission to
- 6:13Speaker 1: create a more balanced, peaceful, joyful, and healthier world. Imagine
- 6:18Speaker 1: spitting that bullshit after hanging out with Epstein, being Epstein's buddy. Yeah,
- 6:23Speaker 1: you want to make a healthier world. What do you
- 6:25Speaker 1: mean by that? Is a world that's easier for you
- 6:28Speaker 1: to abuse? Right? Is that what you mean? His teachings,
- 6:33Speaker 1: Choprah has said aim to guide people to embrace their
- 6:35Speaker 1: strength and potential for both personal and societal growth. Well,
- 6:40Speaker 1: it didn't seem to work on Epstein, did it. And
- 6:42Speaker 1: let me just be very clear. Spiritual guides, gurus, all
- 6:45Speaker 1: these people, life coaches, fugazy frauds, snake oil salesman, and
- 6:51Speaker 1: in my opinion, Choprah is certainly one of them. There's
- 6:56Speaker 1: nothing in the Epstein files to suggest that Choprah was
- 6:59Speaker 1: involved in Epstein sex crimes or knew about them, but
- 7:02Speaker 1: for many observers, the embarrassing details of their friendship raise
- 7:06Speaker 1: larger questions that have less to do with Chopra than
- 7:10Speaker 1: with the nature of the New Age wellness industry as
- 7:13Speaker 1: a whole. To the extent that New Age spirituality is
- 7:16Speaker 1: built on liberating the self from all constraints, as well
- 7:20Speaker 1: as spreading universal love and positive vibrations, critics suggest it
- 7:24Speaker 1: may have helped create an environment where abusers like Epstein
- 7:27Speaker 1: can thrive. Yo, I don't know anything about the spiritual movement,
- 7:34Speaker 1: so everything I talk about will be surface level. I'm
- 7:38Speaker 1: not going to sit here and make pretend I know
- 7:40Speaker 1: about chakras and you know, retrograde venus or whatever the
- 7:44Speaker 1: fuck people talk about. I have no idea. I'm just
- 7:46Speaker 1: some dumbass from the South Bronx. A few months after
- 7:51Speaker 1: their friendship began, in a November twenty sixteen email included
- 7:55Speaker 1: in the FBI files, Epstein Sanchopra a link to a
- 7:59Speaker 1: Deli mail art article about a troubled woman who claimed
- 8:02Speaker 1: that she had been assaulted by Donald Trump when she
- 8:05Speaker 1: was thirteen years old at a party hosted by Epstein.
- 8:09Speaker 1: The article reported that those allegations had not been substantiated,
- 8:13Speaker 1: and that the woman's lawsuit against Trump was dismissed. Did
- 8:17Speaker 1: she ever drop civil case against you, Chopra asked. Epstein
- 8:21Speaker 1: responded with one word, yep, Choprah, good yo. I have
- 8:27Speaker 1: to tell you there is zero chance in the world
- 8:30Speaker 1: I'd be associating with somebody like Jeffrey Epstein. Hanging out
- 8:34Speaker 1: with diddlers goes against my moral code. You know, everybody
- 8:38Speaker 1: has their own private code, right, Well, mine does not
- 8:42Speaker 1: include associating with anyone who diddles people. And that's the
- 8:46Speaker 1: end of it. No exceptions, no excuses. Over the following
- 8:51Speaker 1: year that to continue to exchange greetings, ideas, and invitations.
- 8:56Speaker 1: In February twenty seventeen, Chopra invited Epstein by evil to
- 9:00Speaker 1: attend a course the following month called Journey into Healing.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Chopra added that he would also be leading a week
- 9:07Speaker 1: long retreat that June at a Canadian resort. He wrote
- 9:11Speaker 1: BAF presumably meaning BAF Alberta, and said the girls might
- 9:16Speaker 1: enjoy it. Whatever that means, What the hell does that
- 9:19Speaker 1: mean and look, I don't want to come off with
- 9:22Speaker 1: some prude. I'm not. I don't care what you do
- 9:25Speaker 1: in your life. I don't care what anyone does. As
- 9:27Speaker 1: long as everybody involved is consenting, and as long as
- 9:31Speaker 1: that occurs, it is not my business. I have a
- 9:34Speaker 1: funny feeling some of these girls, if not all of them,
- 9:38Speaker 1: were not consenting. In another email a few days after
- 9:43Speaker 1: that one, Chopra invited Epstein to come to Israel with
- 9:46Speaker 1: us to relax and have fun with interesting people. He
- 9:50Speaker 1: suggested that Epstein might use a fake name and bring
- 9:52Speaker 1: your girls. In April, Chopra emailed Epstein while on his
- 9:56Speaker 1: way from Los Angeles to Saudi Arabia, describing a female
- 9:59Speaker 1: friend as v sweet like your girls, adding an emoji
- 10:03Speaker 1: with hearts fries. In November twenty seventeen, he extended another
- 10:08Speaker 1: invitation to Ebstein and his girls, adding a prayer hands emoji,
- 10:12Speaker 1: suggesting that they attend Choprah's workshop in Switzerland. Oh that's
- 10:17Speaker 1: going to launch people into orbit the Israel story here. Oh,
- 10:21Speaker 1: people are going to run with that. What are they
- 10:23Speaker 1: going to Israel for? And look, good question, what are
- 10:26Speaker 1: they going to Israel for? In early February twenty twenty six,
- 10:32Speaker 1: after the large scale release of most of the FBI's
- 10:35Speaker 1: material on Epstein, Chopra released a statement on X denying
- 10:39Speaker 1: involvement in any criminal or exploitative conduct during his friendship
- 10:43Speaker 1: with Epstein. He described his contact with the convicted sex
- 10:46Speaker 1: trafficker as limited and unrelated to any abuse of activity.
- 10:51Speaker 1: What are these emails about girls? I guess you were
- 10:54Speaker 1: just talking, you know, guys stuff, right, Well, it would
- 10:58Speaker 1: be one thing if you were sending the emails to
- 11:00Speaker 1: somebody who wasn't a convicted sex offender. Whold different story
- 11:04Speaker 1: when you send him to Epstein. In July of twenty eighteen,
- 11:09Speaker 1: a text message exchange, Choprah suggested that Epstein might enjoy
- 11:13Speaker 1: meeting his son in law, a venture capitalist, but added
- 11:16Speaker 1: in parentheses, can't talk about girls. It seems like in
- 11:19Speaker 1: every single email it's about girls. Girls. This girls, that
- 11:23Speaker 1: everything's about girls. By the time Choprah and Epstein first met,
- 11:30Speaker 1: Ebstein was a registered sex offender who had been convicted
- 11:34Speaker 1: in two thousand and eight on two counts of soliciting
- 11:36Speaker 1: a minor for a prostitution and had served a brief
- 11:39Speaker 1: sentence in Palm Beach County Jail. The full extent of
- 11:43Speaker 1: Epstein's a parent sex trafficking network did not become clear
- 11:46Speaker 1: until his indictment on a broader range of criminal charges
- 11:49Speaker 1: in twenty nineteen and his subsequent death in a Manhattan
- 11:53Speaker 1: jail cell. That is always the excuse, right, We had
- 11:56Speaker 1: no idea what he was. But it's okay that he's
- 11:59Speaker 1: soliciting minor. That didn't give you a hint of the
- 12:02Speaker 1: kind of disgusting piece of shit he was. Okay, I guess.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Chopra said in his February statement that he was now
- 12:10Speaker 1: focused on supporting accountability, prevention, and efforts that protect and
- 12:13Speaker 1: support survivors. It was in the first time he had
- 12:17Speaker 1: spoken about his relationship with Epstein after details emerged about
- 12:21Speaker 1: Epstein's calendar in twenty nineteen, which recorded at least a
- 12:25Speaker 1: dozen meetings between the two in twenty sixteen, seventeen, and nineteen.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Chopra told CBS News in an October twenty twenty five
- 12:34Speaker 1: statement that their appointments had mostly concerned Epstein's sleep problems.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Oh yeah, sleep problems, and the girls. Let's not forget
- 12:44Speaker 1: the girls. After meeting, he shared he suffered from insomnia
- 12:49Speaker 1: and expressed interest in learning meditation, which I taught him.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Our meetings focused solely on practicing meditation, lasted about thirty
- 12:56Speaker 1: minutes each, Chopra said in the statement, guys an app liar,
- 13:00Speaker 1: and the emails back it up. See, all these people
- 13:04Speaker 1: that are out here running around telling falsehoods are all
- 13:08Speaker 1: being outed by their own emails. Salon has tried to
- 13:11Speaker 1: contact Choprah several times through the public relations firm that
- 13:14Speaker 1: represents them, but has not received a response. Very little
- 13:18Speaker 1: of the communication between Chopra and Epstein, based on the
- 13:22Speaker 1: evidence in the released FBI files, was about sleep. Well,
- 13:25Speaker 1: no shit, huh, he lied. I am shocked. Nobody has
- 13:29Speaker 1: ever lied to us about Epstein. Ever, In November of
- 13:33Speaker 1: twenty sixteen, Chopra told Epstein by email that sleep is
- 13:37Speaker 1: consciousness in its default mode. That appears to be the
- 13:41Speaker 1: only time the subject was directly mentioned in the publicly
- 13:44Speaker 1: available email and text exchanges between the two, although the
- 13:48Speaker 1: FBI files provide no information about what they might have
- 13:51Speaker 1: discussed in person. Well, how would they know? That seems
- 13:56Speaker 1: a bit weird, right, like the emails. That's evidence. We
- 14:01Speaker 1: can read the emails for ourselves. We don't know what
- 14:03Speaker 1: people were saying in private conversations. In their documented messages,
- 14:07Speaker 1: Chopra and Epstein were far more likely to discuss the
- 14:10Speaker 1: nature of reality and consciousness, topics Chopra has written about
- 14:15Speaker 1: for many years. All Right, folks, we're going to wrap
- 14:18Speaker 1: up the first episode here and in the next episode
- 14:21Speaker 1: we're going to pick up where we left off. All
- 14:23Speaker 1: the information that goes with this episode can be found
- 14:26Speaker 1: in the description box.
