- 0:02See her picture on the table? Don't look like she'd be able.
- 0:11George Jones. I told my buddy Tim Dugger, I
- 0:15said man, I said I found I found George Jones about 3 years ago.
- 0:22We were down in Florida as a big family and he's like, Herman,
- 0:26are you kidding me? I said yeah.
- 0:27I said I'm embarrassed, but it's all I listen to anymore.
- 0:30I, I know George Jones's soundtrack on my phone.
- 0:35Every time I fly, put those earbuds in, I listen to George
- 0:40I. So happy Thursday morning,
- 0:44everybody. It's a beautiful day.
- 0:46As you can tell, the swimming pool is closed.
- 0:51Very sad day, because I love summer.
- 0:54I always tell my grandbabies winter sucks.
- 0:58Poppy says winter sucks. They love winter though.
- 1:03They know Poppy, they love me and we have great grandkids.
- 1:09When I was young, snow was cool. Now that I'm old, snow is not
- 1:14cool because it don't stay around anymore, damn it.
- 1:17It snows and then it's slushy the very next day.
- 1:19All right, enough of that, Herman.
- 1:21A minute and 20 seconds of nothing but well, that was good
- 1:25talk. All right.
- 1:27Today's subject matter. It's kind of a deep 1 you you
- 1:31would not think it would be deep, but it is why Dale
- 1:39Earnhardt junior simply going to run a late model stock race.
- 1:45But Florence respond right here, Dale Earnhardt junior running a
- 1:50a nice little late model stock or whatever, whatever.
- 1:54OK in Florence, but they're going to put the number 8
- 2:00Budweiser paint job. See, you can tell I'm old school
- 2:08nowadays. Hell, I even think my my buddy,
- 2:12my redneck friend, Nick Hoffman, he, I had caught him call
- 2:15calling it livery, a livery. I'm like, come over here so I
- 2:21can slap you guys. So Dale Junior and everybody
- 2:26there at Junior Motorsports has announced that they're going to
- 2:32put the number 8 Budweiser paint job, the paint scheme, the
- 2:35design, not the livery. Livery is something over there
- 2:40in Europe. Livery.
- 2:43Give me my tea. So they're going to put that
- 2:48that design on one of his late models.
- 2:53Now, it did not surprise me that the fans responded so well, so
- 2:59nice. So the the subject matter today
- 3:03is OK, Dale Junior Simply put in the number 8 buzz wise.
- 3:07But Herman, there you go again. Slow down.
- 3:10I know you're excited, buddy. Calm down.
- 3:14OK, Herman, Jesus, why are the fans jacked up on sun drop about
- 3:24the number 8 Budweiser paint job There, I got it out.
- 3:31All right, let's let's break this down.
- 3:32It goes a lot deeper than it sounds like a OK, there you go
- 3:38now you happy? Hey Wallace, we got your coffee
- 3:41mug up there for there is so much negativity.
- 3:49There is so much anxiety. Have you ever learned that you
- 3:51know that that anxiety, that word I'm like when in the world
- 3:54did this anxiety start all over the world.
- 3:57I got anxiety. I'm like, well, I could get
- 4:00nervous. I don't know if I got anxiety in
- 4:03in some weird way. Now respond right here.
- 4:07Tell me why you're jacked up on Sun Drop about the Budweiser
- 4:11paint job on a nice little late model at a nice little Florence,
- 4:17SC race. It's not like this paint job is
- 4:20going in NASCAR, OK? It the paint job, from what I
- 4:25understand, is not going to run a NASCAR race, any type of
- 4:29NASCAR race. The Budweiser #8 paint job is
- 4:33simply going on one of his late model stocks at a nice little
- 4:38short track race. But everybody has lost their
- 4:41their minds and I love it. But let's break it down.
- 4:46Why everybody's jacked up on sun drop about this because of the
- 4:50anxiety nature because of the the elections.
- 4:55Your guy, your girl might not be doing the way you want them to.
- 5:00Everything's negative. Everything's bad.
- 5:02Not Dang. The only thing good in the world
- 5:04is the NFL, right? Because I always tease you all.
- 5:07You know, people bitch and complain about the prices, but
- 5:10if I tell you, you got to pay 2000 for the year to watch the
- 5:15NFL, you going to pay it. That's how much you love the
- 5:18NFL. So I think the NFL must really
- 5:22help people respond right here. If I'm wrong on that, 'cause I,
- 5:26I told my relative, he's a, he lives in Milwaukee and he owns,
- 5:30he paid $25 and he's got that certificate.
- 5:33He owns part of the Packers. I teased with him one day and he
- 5:36got aggressive with me. He goes, I don't care what I got
- 5:38to pay. I'm like, oh God, just acting
- 5:40silly. I was acting silly, Joe, but
- 5:44man, when you when you challenge people on paying for their NFL,
- 5:49they're like, we love the the game so much.
- 5:51We don't care. I think that's the only thing
- 5:55going good in in America right now is the NFL Now respond right
- 6:00here. OK, we already know it's a money
- 6:02machine, but we don't care because we love the game so
- 6:05much. So this this Budweiser when when
- 6:11Junior Motorsports and Dale Junior and Mike Davis and
- 6:14everybody when they put this on Dirty MO Media, I think what it
- 6:19did is you, you know how they say you, you cannot go back home
- 6:24or you can go back home or you cannot going back into the past.
- 6:31You know, sometimes you can go back home, is what I'm saying.
- 6:34Yes, you can. You just got to put an effort
- 6:37into it. And I think what this did simply
- 6:41this, it was like a signal when Dale Junior and them announced
- 6:45this number 8 Budweiser paint job, it, it made everybody feel
- 6:50like they were 30 years younger. Took us all back to when the
- 6:54economy was kicking ass. Things were going good and if
- 6:58things were bad, we didn't know it.
- 7:00That's key right there. I want you to listen to that.
- 7:03When Dale Junior had that paint job, when Dale Junior had the
- 7:08number 8 Budweiser paint job, if things were bad, we didn't know
- 7:12it. We thought it was a good time
- 7:15because I got the receipts. I'm going to bring you right now
- 7:18for a fact. The height of NASCAR was 2006.
- 7:23So let's say we were having fun all the way up to 2000 and six.
- 7:282008 is when shit hit the fan bad.
- 7:32We know that. That's when the housing crisis
- 7:34kicked in. That's what everybody started.
- 7:39You know, things started going bad, right?
- 7:43All the drivers started retiring.
- 7:46Things weren't fun after 2008. So I, I believe in ending in
- 7:52ending, I believe the number 8 Budweiser paint job took us all
- 7:58back. It's like a therapy session
- 8:01there. That's what I was trying to get
- 8:02to. The number 8 Budweiser paint
- 8:05job. Paint scheme is like a wonderful
- 8:08therapy session. Everybody looked at that and
- 8:10they're like, what? Dale Junior's going to drive
- 8:13that? We don't care if it's in NASCAR
- 8:15or not. That's awesome.
- 8:17Oh, I remember those days. And I know for a fact all around
- 8:21America, all around the world right now, people are just
- 8:24talking about not literally the race Dale Junior's going to run,
- 8:29just that Budweiser. Listen, I'm in Saint Louis.
- 8:33I live right here. I can go down to Anheuser Busch,
- 8:36and I know those guys. Yeah.
- 8:39You know, you got to get legality right and all that
- 8:41mumbo jumbo. But when you get down to the
- 8:43brass tacks, what does the hell does that mean anyway?
- 8:46Brass tacks? I've never used that damn
- 8:48phrase. Herman.
- 8:49What? Where'd you get that from?
- 8:51I don't know. It just came out of nowhere.
- 8:54Brass tacks means what's the real taxes?
- 8:57What? What am I going to pay?
- 8:59I think Budweiser thought this is you know, hey, hold on now.
- 9:02Oh controversy Herman. I think this is AI think this is
- 9:07a good way for for Budweiser to clean up some of their own masks
- 9:10too respond right here. I think I think this is a good
- 9:15way for Budweiser to clean up some of their their tough
- 9:18situations they've been in right.
- 9:21So in ending, this is good therapy for all of us.
- 9:26Junior is back. He's running the number 8
- 9:30Budweiser card. The same paint job when I was
- 9:33happy, when Junior was doing good.
- 9:37All right. Hey, you know what I remember?
- 9:39I remember this race here when Junior was running, man, I'll
- 9:41tell you what. Yeah, I remember that too.
- 9:43Joe. Bob.
- 9:44Oh, man. I'll tell you what.
- 9:45My dad, he put down $10 on Junior when he had that paint
- 9:49job. He won.
- 9:50My dad took me out for an ice cream.
- 9:52It was awesome. I'll never forget it.
- 9:54Man, I love that paint job that. See what I'm saying?
- 9:58That's what happens. All right, everybody respond
- 10:01right here with your Dale Earnhardt junior #8 Iconic paint
- 10:07job memories. And if one of you says livery,
- 10:10I'm going to come through the phone.
