- 0:00SPEAKER_04: Hi everybody, it's me, Gloria Steph, and welcome to Let It Loose with Carlos Robin West.
- 0:07SPEAKER_03: Don't miss it.
- 0:11SPEAKER_03: Welcome back, everybody, to another episode of Let It Loose.
- 0:15SPEAKER_06: Hello, hello, hello.
- 0:17SPEAKER_03: I'm so excited for part two.
- 0:19SPEAKER_03: Wes is so excited.
- 0:20SPEAKER_03: We because what I'm gonna remind our listeners that we are still on a field trip to Wes's home planet, the world of collectors.
- 0:30SPEAKER_03: Uh, and Carlos and I are we're out of our depth before, but we're severely out of our depth with part two because this is where we're diving into the nitty-gritty, the granular stuff of the things that these people have collected over the years and you know the the art of the chase, as it were.
- 0:49SPEAKER_06: So this is where I become the listener.
- 0:53SPEAKER_06: So I'm excited to listen to let it loose for the first time.
- 0:57SPEAKER_06: Absolutely.
- 0:58SPEAKER_06: So you know what, Wes, go ahead, kick it off.
- 1:01SPEAKER_04: All right, let's start this.
- 1:02SPEAKER_04: All right, guys.
- 1:02SPEAKER_04: So we're gonna dive into our Gloria collections.
- 1:05SPEAKER_04: Um, before this, I told all of our guests, I was like, let's bring five things to the table that are our most prized possessions, which is impossible for like the huge collectors that we are because there's so many things that we could go off and talk about.
- 1:20SPEAKER_04: So I said, let's bring five um and just discuss them and hopefully you know share a little details about them.
- 1:28SPEAKER_04: So wait, you said we won't bring five, right?
- 1:30SPEAKER_03: And you that was your rule that you made up.
- 1:33SPEAKER_04: Uh that was my rule that I made up.
- 1:34SPEAKER_04: And if you tell them that if it's broken, it's okay.
- 1:37SPEAKER_03: Tell the people how many things you brought to the table.
- 1:40SPEAKER_04: Well, I have like maybe 15 things here spread out.
- 1:44SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna like show two things at the top.
- 1:47SPEAKER_06: We said that we were gonna behave.
- 1:49SPEAKER_04: I am behaving.
- 1:50SPEAKER_04: We've already gotten in trouble for picking on West.
- 1:52SPEAKER_04: So and um I may think like not discuss one of them or another.
- 1:58SPEAKER_04: Like, I got a couple cassettes here, and um, don't don't listen to him.
- 2:03SPEAKER_06: This is your show, and you can do whatever you want.
- 2:08SPEAKER_04: I think so.
- 2:09SPEAKER_04: What I want to start with, um, which a lot of people may not know about, Anton, I know you have copies of them.
- 2:15SPEAKER_04: Um, and there's really not a lot known about them, um, because for one, they don't look really anything special whatsoever.
- 2:23SPEAKER_04: They're basically a CDR that has a plain white piece of paper as the insert that has Sony Music Studios or um this one I am going to discuss came from Tony Moran's studios.
- 2:36SPEAKER_04: They're called CDR like master copies.
- 2:40SPEAKER_04: Um, we don't know how many copies are made, but basically, what in a nutshell they come from like Sony Music Studios or the DJ studios, those are sent to the artist people, okay?
- 2:52SPEAKER_04: And they listen to the tracks to decide what goes on what format.
- 2:57SPEAKER_04: Um, so the cool thing about those is you may get remixes or mixes that were never released on a commercial or promotional single.
- 3:05SPEAKER_04: So Sony Music Studios, I have a couple of here.
- 3:09SPEAKER_04: Like, if you actually look at, Shanton is aware of these, um, it says Sony Music Studios on the front.
- 3:15SPEAKER_04: It actually has the client name, the date, what single it is, the master number.
- 3:21SPEAKER_04: So this one here actually has like if you're uh into Sony Music collecting, there's what's a um like the center, uh, the center label there.
- 3:32SPEAKER_04: It's etched, the catalog number.
- 3:34SPEAKER_04: So Sony Music releases our XSS and then the catalog number.
- 3:40SPEAKER_04: So this is a copy of the actual promo or 12-inch single of Don't Let This Moment In.
- 3:47SPEAKER_04: I think it's part two.
- 3:48SPEAKER_04: So some of these mixes were only released on vinyl back in the day.
- 3:51SPEAKER_04: So now you can get CD quality versions of them, which now are released digitally.
- 3:55SPEAKER_04: But you know, when I bought this, you couldn't.
- 3:57SPEAKER_04: So you could all you could get was the the the audio or the the poor audio quality version of the vinyl on um if you ripped it.
- 4:07SPEAKER_04: But the one I'm bringing to the table is Tony Moran's.
- 4:09SPEAKER_04: I found this on eBay, and it's from it says Tony Moran, wwwtoni moran.com, and it has his email address.
- 4:17SPEAKER_04: Glow, and it's a it's titled Gloria Medley.
- 4:20SPEAKER_04: It's the 70s Moment Medley, so it's the mixes that he put together sent to either Sony or Glorious Camp.
- 4:28SPEAKER_04: They decided which ones they were going to release on the singles.
- 4:31SPEAKER_04: So there's the three versions that were released on all the formats that we know, which is like there's a DJ-friendly version, which is like 15 minutes long of the 70s Moment Medley.
- 4:42SPEAKER_04: There's a the edit that was released on all the singles, and then there was another slightly shorter version of the long version that the DJ intro was cut, but on this particular CD single, there's alternate seven-inch versions that he used alternate songs, so those two have never been released commercially.
- 5:02SPEAKER_04: So it's kind of cool to hear those.
- 5:04SPEAKER_04: So that's my first thing.
- 5:06SPEAKER_04: The CDR Masters.
- 5:08SPEAKER_04: Oh, one more.
- 5:10SPEAKER_04: This is an interesting, unique copy.
- 5:13SPEAKER_04: This came from the UK, another CDR Master.
- 5:16SPEAKER_04: This it says Greatest Hits Volume 2, plain white piece of paper.
- 5:20SPEAKER_04: It says not for production, but it came from Whitfield Mastering Studios, I believe.
- 5:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah, Whitfield, you or Anton and Steve, you and Jimmy, you probably are familiar with this.
- 5:33SPEAKER_04: This is Greatest Hits Volume 2, the album.
- 5:36SPEAKER_04: The track listing is in a complete.
- 5:38SPEAKER_04: Well, some of the tracks are in a different order, arrangement, but the unique thing about this one is is it has Don't Let This Moment End on it and not Heaven's What I Feel.
- 5:48SPEAKER_04: So I'm not sure how that can.
- 5:51SPEAKER_04: I'd love to hear the story behind that.
- 5:52SPEAKER_04: I know Gloria, I know she was asked back in the day, you know, why that song wasn't included on there.
- 5:57SPEAKER_04: I think we had like a conga chat or something like that.
- 6:00SPEAKER_04: And she said, I think she wanted to give Naiib the chance for to remix Conga.
- 6:07SPEAKER_04: They included that instead of Don't Let This Moment End.
- 6:10SPEAKER_04: So questions about those?
- 6:13SPEAKER_04: Um, because they are so unique.
- 6:15SPEAKER_04: Anton has you have a lot more than I do, and I thank you for sharing those with me because he gave me some he ripped some of the audio uh the remixes for me.
- 6:24SPEAKER_04: Um but if you have any questions, just hit me up.
- 6:27SPEAKER_04: And like I said, I have we'll show some images of our releases on our um social media, and I have all this stuff on my social media account or Instagram account.
- 6:38SPEAKER_04: All right, let's move on to let's start with you, Anton.
- 6:40SPEAKER_04: What do you got?
- 6:42SPEAKER_08: Well, if we start with CDs, I have this one.
- 6:46SPEAKER_06: Oh wow from Brazil?
- 6:48SPEAKER_06: From Brazil, yeah.
- 6:48SPEAKER_06: And Anton, uh, for those listening, uh describe what you just showed us.
- 6:53SPEAKER_06: It's a CD.
- 6:54SPEAKER_04: So cool.
- 6:55SPEAKER_04: Uh it's how many mixes?
- 6:58SPEAKER_04: I think there's like 10 on there.
- 7:00SPEAKER_04: Am I right?
- 7:00SPEAKER_04: So it's from the Gloria.
- 7:02SPEAKER_04: Mixes?
- 7:04SPEAKER_08: It only happens what I feel.
- 7:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 7:06SPEAKER_04: And isn't Corazon prohibido on the end there?
- 7:09SPEAKER_04: A couple of those traps.
- 7:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's a really cool one.
- 7:13SPEAKER_03: So for everybody listening, the packaging's really cool.
- 7:15SPEAKER_03: It is a disco ball that like opens up.
- 7:18SPEAKER_03: It's really I've never seen anything like that before.
- 7:20SPEAKER_08: That's really the CDUC many times, but it also there's a paper in front.
- 7:25SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I've never seen that.
- 7:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 7:30SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we've got to get some pictures of these and we'll put them on our social media so people can see what we're actually talking about.
- 7:38SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that one's cool.
- 7:39SPEAKER_04: All right, Steve, let's see what you got.
- 7:41SPEAKER_07: Um, okay, let's see.
- 7:43SPEAKER_07: So the first one, I was digging through a lot of CD singles, but we've talked about this, but I think one of the the the hardest finds I had was the the remix CD, the remixes CD of Abre of La Paranda from Abriendo Puetas.
- 8:00SPEAKER_07: Um I've never listened to it because it's sealed.
- 8:03SPEAKER_07: I've never had the courage to open it, which I know a lot of people say that that's counter counterintuitive.
- 8:10SPEAKER_07: The things are to be enjoyed, but it's so beautiful.
- 8:13SPEAKER_07: I just actually just like looking at it, to be honest.
- 8:16SPEAKER_07: But I think if I get a chance to meet Glory again, I would maybe like to get that autographed.
- 8:20SPEAKER_07: So it may get opened at some point.
- 8:22SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 8:22SPEAKER_07: And if that happens, then I would definitely play the CD.
- 8:26SPEAKER_06: How many remixes are on that?
- 8:29SPEAKER_07: Uh there.
- 8:30SPEAKER_07: There are four remixes.
- 8:32SPEAKER_07: So there's the Latin Moon mix, then there's Till the Dub Comes Up mix, the Drum Apella mix, and the Remix Radio Mix.
- 8:38SPEAKER_07: So it doesn't have the original version on, it's pure remixes.
- 8:42SPEAKER_07: Um so yeah, I mean, I don't know, Wes, maybe or Anton, that you've got more insight into you know why it's so rare, etc.
- 8:50SPEAKER_07: But um it's it's absolutely beautiful.
- 8:54SPEAKER_07: Absolutely beautiful.
- 8:56SPEAKER_07: Um was manufactured.
- 8:57SPEAKER_08: There are two versions.
- 8:58SPEAKER_08: Yep, two versions.
- 8:59SPEAKER_07: There are two versions, okay.
- 9:00SPEAKER_08: So yes, the other one is only the normal the normal song.
- 9:05SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I've got that too, but the remix is one I just think it's because it's so rare and it's so nice.
- 9:10SPEAKER_04: That was actually the last the last single released from Abdien the Portas.
- 9:15SPEAKER_04: It was released in I mean, it was those are only promo.
- 9:18SPEAKER_04: So um 97, I think is when it appeared on the the charts, the billboard charts.
- 9:25SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 9:26SPEAKER_07: I love the picture.
- 9:27SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I love that picture.
- 9:28SPEAKER_07: So I love those photo sessions, and that's just such a nice alternative to the to the album cover.
- 9:34SPEAKER_07: Actually, I can't I couldn't say which one I prefer.
- 9:36SPEAKER_07: I know that's what I'm thinking.
- 9:38SPEAKER_07: Gloria's face is more straight on.
- 9:40SPEAKER_06: Um I think I prefer that one.
- 9:42SPEAKER_06: I think the the La Baranda.
- 9:45SPEAKER_06: Just the her little the the tilt of her head and just the Yeah, there's just something very nice about it.
- 9:51SPEAKER_07: Very, very natural.
- 9:53SPEAKER_07: All right, Carlos.
- 9:54SPEAKER_04: You're you're gonna have to send her uh side by side, send her an email or a text with both of those and ask her what her favorite was.
- 10:03SPEAKER_04: I'm curious.
- 10:04SPEAKER_06: Oh, what her what Gloria's favorite?
- 10:05SPEAKER_04: Her favorite is, yeah.
- 10:06SPEAKER_04: Obviously the album cover, or it wouldn't have been the one, right?
- 10:09SPEAKER_04: You would think, but you know what I'm gonna say?
- 10:11SPEAKER_03: It's nice to see variants of the same photo shoot that are actually real and not AI.
- 10:16SPEAKER_03: So I really appreciate it.
- 10:17SPEAKER_06: Oh my god, everything is AI now.
- 10:19SPEAKER_03: Everything is AI, crazy.
- 10:21SPEAKER_03: Stop inventando everybody, just enjoy what what we've gotten over the years.
- 10:25SPEAKER_06: Uh well, you know what the thing is that everything is so rare, it's rare to I mean, she doesn't do photo shoots anymore.
- 10:32SPEAKER_06: Yeah, right?
- 10:32SPEAKER_04: And a lot of the old photos, the the quality of the photo shoots, they're you know all these images are from the late 90s, internet, a lot of them felt right.
- 10:44SPEAKER_06: But I understand cleaning them up, right?
- 10:46SPEAKER_06: Because I I think that what we've seen some uh some fans take up uh an old picture with that didn't have the best quality and they clean it up using whatever programs they they use.
- 10:59SPEAKER_06: There's that, and then there's others that are just like making up new like something completely new image of Gloria.
- 11:08SPEAKER_06: And it's like it's not even Gloria.
- 11:09SPEAKER_06: It's that's not her.
- 11:11SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 11:11SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it doesn't even look like her.
- 11:13SPEAKER_03: I cringe, but we went off track.
- 11:15SPEAKER_03: I'm very sorry.
- 11:16SPEAKER_03: We did go off track, sorry.
- 11:18SPEAKER_04: All right, Jimmy, you know what you got.
- 11:21SPEAKER_01: Okay, so my first one was something that I found randomly, which is um a UK primary seven inch for Congo.
- 11:29SPEAKER_01: Now it's not much to look at, um, but it does contain an airplay editing because obviously Congo itself was too long for radio, they decided.
- 11:41SPEAKER_01: So it's about three minutes 30 that version of Congo.
- 11:45SPEAKER_01: Um and and it's quite it's quite rare because I don't think any of our other singles got released as a seven-inch promo.
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: They uh they up they what they used to do is use to put a sticker on the commercially available one, yeah, on stamp.
- 11:59SPEAKER_01: And uh and um you sometimes a lot of the times actually you've got the press release sheet in with it.
- 12:05SPEAKER_01: I've got a lot of those as well, but um but this one was a a a a weird find because it was just listed under the normal conger at the time.
- 12:11SPEAKER_01: I think actually the discogs listing is my my version now.
- 12:15SPEAKER_01: But um but it's it's it was quite a cool find that didn't know existed at the time.
- 12:19SPEAKER_04: Yeah, for people to elaborate more on that is what he's saying is you know, in the early 80s or the I'd say through yeah, pretty much the early 80s, or early to late 80s, a lot of the vinyl were basically the same as the commercial releases.
- 12:35SPEAKER_04: Um the catalog numbers weren't different until the 90s.
- 12:39SPEAKER_04: Um, and they would just put a promo stamp on them.
- 12:41SPEAKER_04: And like the CDs where the catalog numbers are different, you can easily tell the difference by looking at the catalog number to whether it's a commercial release or a promotional release.
- 12:51SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 12:53SPEAKER_05: All right, so let's jump into number two.
- 12:56SPEAKER_04: I wait, I wanna go off topic here, not topic, but but um back to the La Paranda, just for everybody knows, because this one I feel is a rare one.
- 13:06SPEAKER_04: The I don't know about you guys, but I think I've only seen one copy.
- 13:11SPEAKER_04: So there were two copies of La Paranda, like everybody, or like we were just saying, there's the one-track version, which is an epic release, it's got the epic promo catalog number on it.
- 13:22SPEAKER_04: I feel that this one's more rare than the remixes.
- 13:25SPEAKER_04: I mean, both of them are extremely rare.
- 13:27SPEAKER_04: I've only seen one copy of this and I bought it, or and the other copy was Anton's, but I've only seen one for sale.
- 13:33SPEAKER_04: But Steve, you have the other one, you have one both of them as well.
- 13:36SPEAKER_07: Yes, it's swimming around somewhere.
- 13:38SPEAKER_07: And I know uh I know David Riley has a copy too.
- 13:41SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 13:42SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, we can't we can't forget David Riley.
- 13:44SPEAKER_04: He's another person, like David is how David and Anton are how I became what I am, collectors, because I learned so much from them.
- 13:54SPEAKER_04: David and and then Ignacio from Spain, but yeah, the the remix is La Paranda is released on like the Sony, what says Sony Tropical, which is like the Sony Discos label, you know, back then.
- 14:06SPEAKER_04: But all right, so let's do my number two.
- 14:10SPEAKER_04: My number two is thanks to Jimmy.
- 14:14SPEAKER_04: I had looked for this one for the longest time.
- 14:17SPEAKER_04: Um and the thing that's unique about it is it's got you know the UK, even back, you know, vinyls, there was always a part two, like there was with C singles.
- 14:28SPEAKER_04: So Can't Stay Away From You was released twice.
- 14:30SPEAKER_04: As we all know the story behind that.
- 14:32SPEAKER_04: The first time Can't Stay Away From You was released, it was a major flop.
- 14:37SPEAKER_04: It peaked at number 88 on the UK charts the first time around.
- 14:41SPEAKER_04: But part two of the 12-inch, it's black at the top, it's the dreamy pose for those out there.
- 14:47SPEAKER_04: But the black version, which is part two, was extremely rare.
- 14:51SPEAKER_04: You can find the white one everywhere.
- 14:53SPEAKER_04: Um, Anton, I even think you found or you maybe you was the one that pointed out to me.
- 14:58SPEAKER_04: I know you have it, but the you and the unique thing too is it says includes extra track bad boy as featured in Three Men and a Baby movie.
- 15:06SPEAKER_04: That's right.
- 15:07SPEAKER_04: They added that promo on there.
- 15:08SPEAKER_04: They were really trying to do the best they could to like set this those singles off.
- 15:14SPEAKER_04: Um, but yeah, for whatever reason, initially in the UK, it did not catch on.
- 15:18SPEAKER_04: But that black one is extremely rare to find.
- 15:20SPEAKER_04: Um, but the funny thing is, is they released re-released Can't Stay Away From You a year later or so, like early 1989.
- 15:28SPEAKER_04: And in I mean, look, the first time it was released, it peaked at number 88, which they didn't sell, so that's why they're so hard to find.
- 15:38SPEAKER_04: They probably destroyed the copies that didn't sell.
- 15:42SPEAKER_04: But when it was reissued a year later, the song went to number seven.
- 15:48SPEAKER_04: So for the same exact single to go from number 88 to number seven in a year.
- 15:53SPEAKER_04: Isn't that wild?
- 15:55SPEAKER_01: It's crazy.
- 15:56SPEAKER_01: And that that that issue of uh can't stay revenue as well, has the what one of the two UK things I don't own still, which is the seven-inch poster bag.
- 16:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that one's a hard one.
- 16:07SPEAKER_05: You don't have it either.
- 16:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I've never seen that come up.
- 16:09SPEAKER_04: Anton and David have David has a copy.
- 16:13SPEAKER_04: Oh, you don't have it?
- 16:14SPEAKER_08: Yes, it's the only one I'm missing.
- 16:16SPEAKER_08: Wow.
- 16:16SPEAKER_04: So see what David has it?
- 16:19SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they didn't sell and they destroyed all the copies that were pressed, you know, which is wild.
- 16:24SPEAKER_08: Because on Discourse there are like like 300 people are looking for it.
- 16:27SPEAKER_08: Nobody uh never popped up, never sold.
- 16:30SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah.
- 16:31SPEAKER_01: I look for every day on eBay.
- 16:36SPEAKER_08: All right, Anton.
- 16:37SPEAKER_04: Maybe one day, one day.
- 16:38SPEAKER_04: One day.
- 16:39SPEAKER_04: All right, Anton, let's see what you have.
- 16:42SPEAKER_08: Well, uh, I have a question.
- 16:43SPEAKER_08: Um before the Miami sound machine in uh 1984 or sorry, in 1977, uh Gloria and uh Mercy did uh back vocals for Dino Silvani.
- 16:58SPEAKER_06: What is this wow?
- 17:01SPEAKER_06: This is this is new info Gloria and Mercy.
- 17:06SPEAKER_08: Who was the artist?
- 17:07SPEAKER_08: It's from 1976.
- 17:12SPEAKER_08: Dino Disco, it's a Miami label.
- 17:15SPEAKER_05: Wow.
- 17:19SPEAKER_05: Breaking news.
- 17:20SPEAKER_04: That's wow.
- 17:22SPEAKER_04: It's you can learn so much from him, he's amazing.
- 17:28SPEAKER_04: What is the name of the thing?
- 17:32SPEAKER_04: What's the name of the song again?
- 17:33SPEAKER_04: Is it on discogs?
- 17:35SPEAKER_04: I'm sure you you added it.
- 17:37SPEAKER_04: I think yes.
- 17:37SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 17:38SPEAKER_04: We'll have to look it up.
- 17:39SPEAKER_08: It popped up sometimes on eBay, this record.
- 17:42SPEAKER_08: Really?
- 17:43SPEAKER_04: Very good.
- 17:46SPEAKER_08: Back focus, glory and mercy.
- 17:48SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 17:49SPEAKER_04: All right, Steve, what do you what what do you have?
- 17:52SPEAKER_07: Uh so my next one is obviously I love concert memorabilia, so I this one I do love because it's in fantastic condition.
- 18:01SPEAKER_07: The tour that I love.
- 18:02SPEAKER_07: It's the the Let It Loose tour program, um, which I know a lot of people still want.
- 18:08SPEAKER_07: But it is it's in virtually new condition still.
- 18:11SPEAKER_07: Um love the pictures inside, I love all the photography from that era.
- 18:17SPEAKER_07: Um I'm always intrigued though by concert memorabilia and just you know the backgrounds to it.
- 18:23SPEAKER_07: One thing I've never discovered, and I don't know if anybody has here, but is memorabilia from the primitive love tour.
- 18:30SPEAKER_07: I have never ever seen anything on that tour.
- 18:34SPEAKER_07: I don't know if anybody has merchandise, even if Gloria has merchandise in her archives, but I just love this program.
- 18:43SPEAKER_07: There's just something about it.
- 18:44SPEAKER_07: It reminds me of the 80s as well.
- 18:46SPEAKER_07: So it just has that 80s.
- 18:49SPEAKER_07: Uh sponsored by Pepsi, which obviously into the light in the UK in Europe was also sponsored by Pepsi.
- 18:57SPEAKER_07: So a bit of a relationship there.
- 19:00SPEAKER_04: You know, Steve, you that you mentioned funny that you mentioned that.
- 19:02SPEAKER_04: I saw a photo of a t-shirt once, and I don't know if it was just like a promo to the record stores or the record company, but there was a t-shirt that I don't remember what color it was, but it just had the primitive love logo written on the on the that was it.
- 19:16SPEAKER_04: I don't know if it was a tour shirt or not, but it just had primitive love, the the logo.
- 19:20SPEAKER_03: I saw that on eBay once, and I remember being like, well, it's out of my price range because it was exorbitantly high.
- 19:26SPEAKER_07: Yeah, if anybody sees that, please send it my way.
- 19:31SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I've got to see those early those early albums and the let it lose tour, as I've mentioned many times.
- 19:38SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 19:40SPEAKER_04: All right, Jimmy, what do you have?
- 19:43SPEAKER_01: Oh, wait, back to me, are we?
- 19:44SPEAKER_01: So I've picked this is a this is a um Mexican 7-inch of uh Renaissance 2 or more with Comigo.
- 19:55SPEAKER_01: And I just love it because the sleeve is great, although it's one of those kind of flap sleeves, but um it's a real fun picture, yeah.
- 20:04SPEAKER_01: It's a it's a really nice sleeve.
- 20:06SPEAKER_01: Um I was really lucky to get it, although I can I can actually tell you that that it's almost almost correct because once I received it, the 7-inch came out of it, and the 7-inch is for some totally different band.
- 20:24SPEAKER_01: Oh no.
- 20:25SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's no, I've got the sleeve, I've got the sleeve, but I don't have the seven inch, but actually a lot of these things are.
- 20:32SPEAKER_01: Ah, that's what I'm saying.
- 20:34SPEAKER_01: I have I have also because the sleeves are actually harder to come by in some of these South American kind of releases, so actually, I'm hoping I find an unsleeve version at some point that I can just pop in there.
- 20:49SPEAKER_04: Alright, so we'll move on to number three three.
- 20:54SPEAKER_04: Hopefully three.
- 20:55SPEAKER_04: Alright, I'm gonna go to Japan.
- 20:59SPEAKER_04: This one's pretty rare.
- 21:00SPEAKER_04: I've only seen a couple.
- 21:01SPEAKER_04: I'm I'm sure Anton has it, and I think so, David.
- 21:05SPEAKER_04: I'm not sure if you do, Steve, but this was what they call like an in-store promo of the Gloria album.
- 21:12SPEAKER_04: The unique thing about it is it comes in like a cardboard sleeve.
- 21:17SPEAKER_04: And the track listing is different.
- 21:19SPEAKER_04: Um, it goes from Heaven's What I Feel, Don't Stop, Oh yeah, Back to Heaven's What I Feel, Real Woman, Don't Let This Moment In.
- 21:28SPEAKER_04: Back to Heaven's What I Feel, I Just Wanna Be Happy, Cuba Libre, Heaven's What I Feel, and then two remixes of feeling and then don't let this moment or don't release me.
- 21:38SPEAKER_03: So it's like an in-store continuous, then, right?
- 21:41SPEAKER_04: Like that means that they must not be they kept adding in Heaven's What I Feel because that was the lead single.
- 21:47SPEAKER_04: So they were playing it in store.
- 21:49SPEAKER_04: So there's the track listing on the back, and it um the key the CD even looks is different from the the color of the CD is different from the um the album.
- 22:09SPEAKER_08: Before Dino Giovanni there was the Miami Latin Boys.
- 22:15SPEAKER_08: I have a magazine from uh Cubano Libre from 76 an announcement of there was Miami Latin Boys.
- 22:28SPEAKER_05: Oh that's cool.
- 22:32SPEAKER_08: It's an uh it's a magazine from uh Cuban people living in Miami and uh you can book them as he signed it uh last time I I uh when I saw Gloria, she is he even didn't know it was existed.
- 22:50SPEAKER_08: But it's very um I like I like also the picture of the of the group.
- 22:55SPEAKER_06: Yeah is that that's Emilio sitting on the chair, right?
- 22:59SPEAKER_06: Yes, yes, correctly.
- 23:01SPEAKER_06: Love that.
- 23:04SPEAKER_03: Very special.
- 23:06SPEAKER_03: Very Steve.
- 23:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's really cool.
- 23:09SPEAKER_07: Okay, what's next?
- 23:11SPEAKER_07: Let's see.
- 23:12SPEAKER_07: Um okay, so not a bit of like release memorabilia of such, but something from my collection, which I will take with me when I leave this earth.
- 23:23SPEAKER_07: But it is um it is a necklace that Gloria owned and that she will the front door.
- 23:29SPEAKER_06: Oh my god.
- 23:30SPEAKER_06: Shut the front door.
- 23:31SPEAKER_06: You are not rubbing that in our faces right now.
- 23:34SPEAKER_06: Please describe what you're holding in your hand.
- 23:37SPEAKER_07: So I am holding, so this is from the uh On Your Feet tour.
- 23:40SPEAKER_07: Uh Gloria wore this.
- 23:42SPEAKER_07: So it is uh, I would say it's like a it's a cross, but um, I'll hold it up, and maybe somebody can describe it better than me.
- 23:51SPEAKER_07: It's so it's like a brass cross, but it's got uh flower effects um molded into the center and all around.
- 24:00SPEAKER_07: But the corners of the cross, they're kind of like um they're almost rounded, so it's almost like an ace of spades, but a cross version of it.
- 24:09SPEAKER_07: Um, and it's a lovely uh rope chain as well.
- 24:15SPEAKER_07: So I got this from Gloria in 2017.
- 24:21SPEAKER_07: Uh, it was auctioned at the Conga Bash.
- 24:25SPEAKER_07: And before it was sent to me, um I've got some lovely pictures of Gloria wearing it and holding it up to the camera for me and stuff.
- 24:34SPEAKER_07: So it's a really nice moment.
- 24:35SPEAKER_07: It's a tour that I didn't see, obviously, because of what happened, uh, unfortunately, to Gloria.
- 24:42SPEAKER_07: But I love the fact that this has traveled significantly around the world.
- 24:46SPEAKER_07: It's been with Gloria and that she was gracious enough or kind enough to, you know, release it from from her archives, from her personal memorabilia.
- 24:55SPEAKER_07: And you know, I actually I hang it with the Barbie doll from the on your feet first, so it kind of teams with the theme, so to speak.
- 25:04SPEAKER_07: But it's a lovely item, it's got a nice heavy weight to it.
- 25:08SPEAKER_07: Um, I used to hang it over my bed, but it created a bit of controversy because you know, in Northern Ireland, you know, if you have a cross, it can kind of signify what your religion is, and that can be so with workmen coming to the house and stuff, they would look at it.
- 25:26SPEAKER_07: And so I decided just to take it away and store it somewhere differently.
- 25:30SPEAKER_07: But yeah, I just love it.
- 25:31SPEAKER_07: It's just it's nice to know that you know it's it's a unique piece and that nobody else has.
- 25:37SPEAKER_06: I mean, if you'd like, you could you could ship it over to me.
- 25:39SPEAKER_06: I'll wear it every day, all day, 24-7.
- 25:45SPEAKER_06: That's a really cool piece, though.
- 25:46SPEAKER_06: It really is one of the kinds of very cool.
- 25:48SPEAKER_07: It's one of the kind.
- 25:49SPEAKER_07: And so I'm I I couldn't believe it when I was able when I when I won it.
- 25:53SPEAKER_07: And when when I won it, um, I mean, I think some people know um I had cancer at the time and I was going through chemotherapy, so I couldn't go to the to the batch.
- 26:05SPEAKER_07: So it was kind of like almost like a talisman or just a like a nice way to connect me to Gloria because obviously, you know, I have an emotional connection with uh Gloria and I listened to her a lot actually when I was was unwell.
- 26:19SPEAKER_07: So I just felt like this was like a meant-to-be piece.
- 26:22SPEAKER_07: So it's very special, it's a good look charm.
- 26:25SPEAKER_03: Steve, how do you store that in your home?
- 26:27SPEAKER_03: Is it framed or is it in a box?
- 26:28SPEAKER_03: Like, how do you protect keep that?
- 26:30SPEAKER_07: Well, it's it's actually it's not framed, it's actually just hanging draped over my Barbie doll of Gloria on your feet tour, because since obviously that's where Gloria wore it.
- 26:42SPEAKER_07: But I should really frame it, but I feel that it's too special to frame.
- 26:46SPEAKER_07: I like to be able to hold it and stuff and just keep it tactile.
- 26:50SPEAKER_03: Right on.
- 26:52SPEAKER_07: I love it.
- 26:52SPEAKER_03: That's beautiful.
- 26:53SPEAKER_03: Jimmy, you're up next.
- 26:54SPEAKER_03: Try to beat that.
- 26:56SPEAKER_01: Well, I'm not gonna try and beat that back, because I found my worst thing I've got.
- 27:01SPEAKER_01: Uh I'm gonna go with um, so I have this uh 12-inch single from the UK.
- 27:08SPEAKER_01: It's um actually the Miami Sound Machine Falling in Love, for those who can't see what I'm holding up.
- 27:14SPEAKER_01: But it's a called a 12-inch double pack.
- 27:17SPEAKER_01: So it's stickered and sealed, and what they did is they sealed um bad boy with it from a pre which was a previous release, um, to kind of promote the new single Fall in Love.
- 27:29SPEAKER_01: Um didn't work to their plans because Fall in Love wasn't a very big hit.
- 27:33SPEAKER_01: Um, but this this sleeve is the naked sleeve because it was released twice as one sleeve which has a group uh photo, and this is the naked which isn't Gloria, it's just a random person.
- 27:44SPEAKER_01: I don't even know if anyone knows who that is on the naked sleeve.
- 27:48SPEAKER_01: I'm not sure.
- 27:48SPEAKER_01: I was wondering.
- 27:50SPEAKER_01: Um I believe it's just a random person.
- 27:53SPEAKER_01: But maybe there is a couple of things.
- 27:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's a really random sleeve.
- 27:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 28:00SPEAKER_01: But it's quite it's quite rad too.
- 28:02SPEAKER_06: Sometimes you end up in a position when you're falling in love.
- 28:04SPEAKER_06: So yeah.
- 28:05SPEAKER_06: And that was that was only released in the UK.
- 28:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that cover.
- 28:09SPEAKER_04: And then they reissue it later with a different catalog number with the cover that was released worldwide, you know, with the the group photo.
- 28:17SPEAKER_01: Okay, yeah.
- 28:20SPEAKER_04: All right, let's start with.
- 28:23SPEAKER_04: I think I'm gonna go with it's two and one, but it's the same release.
- 28:28SPEAKER_04: Um, this comes from Australia.
- 28:30SPEAKER_04: I think the cassette is actually more rare than the CD, but the I I didn't realize how highly sought after this one is, but in Australia, they released a 12-inch mixes collection from some of the Sony artists.
- 28:45SPEAKER_04: I've seen one by Michael Jackson, and I know there's some other artists that they released.
- 28:49SPEAKER_04: But the CD and the cassette cover are completely different.
- 28:53SPEAKER_04: Um, it's called 12-inch mixes.
- 28:55SPEAKER_04: Here's the CD cover that's it's basically the same.
- 28:58SPEAKER_04: It's Bet You Say That.
- 28:59SPEAKER_04: Um, there are 12-inch mixes of Dr.
- 29:01SPEAKER_04: Beat, Conga, Bad Boy, Betcha Say That, and Rhythm is gonna get you.
- 29:05SPEAKER_04: The track listing is the same on the cassette as well, but why they chose a totally different photo, I don't know.
- 29:10SPEAKER_04: It's like an early photo probably from the Eyes of Innocence era of Miami Sound Machine.
- 29:19SPEAKER_04: Here, have you you've ever seen that one?
- 29:21SPEAKER_04: I've never seen it.
- 29:22SPEAKER_04: I've never seen it.
- 29:23SPEAKER_04: Do you have one, Anton?
- 29:26SPEAKER_04: I knew he had one, yeah.
- 29:27SPEAKER_07: Up hang the nice.
- 29:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 29:30SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I so I had never seen that.
- 29:31SPEAKER_04: So I guess it's um so I had to buy the because I wasn't a huge cassette collector because it's such a crappy format, but then I finished all the US CD singles or cassette singles and UK singles.
- 29:45SPEAKER_04: But now those are making a comeback because the they look cool, right?
- 29:51SPEAKER_04: All right, Anton, what do you have?
- 29:53SPEAKER_08: Um I have something, but I don't know um where it's from.
- 29:57SPEAKER_08: It's a towel.
- 29:59SPEAKER_08: One side is glory, the other side is the Miami sound machine.
- 30:03SPEAKER_08: Oh it looks like from the get on feet.
- 30:05SPEAKER_06: Is that from I was just gonna say the get on your feet era?
- 30:08SPEAKER_08: It's from a concert, but I really don't know from which one which I can remember.
- 30:14SPEAKER_08: I have a very long time stored in in uh in a box.
- 30:17SPEAKER_08: And I can't remember how did I get it.
- 30:19SPEAKER_08: Uh it's from a concert, but if they throw it to the public and I cut it, I really don't know.
- 30:25SPEAKER_03: It's still so you've kept very good care of it.
- 30:30SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it looks like it looks very similar to the uh from the um you know the what she wore on the into the light.
- 30:38SPEAKER_04: Into the light, that's what yeah.
- 30:42SPEAKER_04: You know, rhythm is gonna get you.
- 30:43SPEAKER_04: It looks like it could be from that era too.
- 30:45SPEAKER_08: I was at the show, so maybe it's from there.
- 30:47SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 30:48SPEAKER_08: Amazing.
- 30:50SPEAKER_04: How many concerts did you go to?
- 30:52SPEAKER_04: I'm curious.
- 30:54SPEAKER_08: Um I went only in the Netherlands and in Spain.
- 30:57SPEAKER_04: Yeah, so you've been you've seen Get on Your Feet tour into the Light.
- 31:01SPEAKER_08: You've seen Feet into the Light.
- 31:03SPEAKER_08: Um 1996 uh tour.
- 31:10SPEAKER_08: The 2000 and I don't know if it was seven, and last time when she was in Barcelona and in Madrid, Zaragoza.
- 31:18SPEAKER_08: I went there.
- 31:19SPEAKER_08: That's awesome.
- 31:20SPEAKER_04: Just twice.
- 31:21SPEAKER_04: Well, three times for me.
- 31:23SPEAKER_04: All right, Steve, what do you have?
- 31:26SPEAKER_07: Okay, so I don't know if you can see behind me.
- 31:28SPEAKER_07: I was trying to think, you know, things that are unusual.
- 31:30SPEAKER_07: I can't dangle this, but if you can see a framed picture there of Gloria from I can't remember the sessions that's from, but that's from Alma Carivania.
- 31:41SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, from that era.
- 31:42SPEAKER_07: Um, so that actually um used to belong to Lario's on the beach.
- 31:48SPEAKER_07: Um, and then Gloria decommissioned it from uh Lario's and then had it in her home, from what I can understand.
- 31:55SPEAKER_07: And so I was lucky to obtain that too.
- 31:58SPEAKER_07: So it's it's it's a one-off, it's a unique piece again.
- 32:02SPEAKER_07: Nobody has, and Gloria had two of them with different pictures, and because I I took one, she decided to release the other one.
- 32:08SPEAKER_07: So another member of uh Conga was able to obtain that one too.
- 32:14SPEAKER_07: So um, and I received it autographed, but my cat decided to walk up alongside it, so the autographs partially now, not the Gloria part, but my name kind of erased.
- 32:27SPEAKER_07: So it it makes it a little bit unique, but that hangs in my home, and I absolutely love that because it's you know it's it's a very happy picture.
- 32:34SPEAKER_07: Um I love the framing, but I remember seeing that in Larry's years before, so it just has that connection, that reminder of being in Miami to Miami too, and so little did I know it would wind its way all up here in in Northern Ireland.
- 32:51SPEAKER_03: And how unique, like nobody else probably has an autograph that says two stove.
- 32:56SPEAKER_03: Two stove, oh really one of a kind.
- 33:02SPEAKER_07: Yeah, that um so yeah, so it's it's beautiful when it's hung up, but the way that it's uh set set against it looks really nice, and a lot of people comment on it when they come to visit the house too.
- 33:15SPEAKER_07: So I get again it's one of those unique things, so it's not a collector's collector's thing, but it it's it's personal to me as a collector.
- 33:24SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that's awesome.
- 33:28SPEAKER_01: Jimmy, you're up.
- 33:31SPEAKER_01: Okay, I'm going back to Mexico.
- 33:35SPEAKER_01: And I've got this 12 inch of Dr.
- 33:38SPEAKER_01: Beats that I love.
- 33:39SPEAKER_01: I only just recently got it.
- 33:41SPEAKER_01: It's not in the best condition, especially the sleeve.
- 33:43SPEAKER_01: The sleeve isn't anything special, but it's a lovely green vinyl.
- 33:46SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's pretty.
- 33:47SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's very pretty.
- 33:48SPEAKER_01: That's really nice, yeah.
- 33:50SPEAKER_01: There's actually a few of these, different colours that you can get um from the early Mammy Sand machine days.
- 33:55SPEAKER_01: I this is the only one I have though at the moment.
- 33:58SPEAKER_01: Because the poster packaging from South America is criminal.
- 34:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah, the quality of vinyl from South America back in you know the 80s is pretty bad.
- 34:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, even really, very beat up on a lot of these sort of things.
- 34:15SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they don't um they don't last long, let's just put it that way.
- 34:21SPEAKER_04: The piece of paper and stuff.
- 34:24SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's awesome.
- 34:26SPEAKER_04: Alright, I think the next one I'm gonna go with is Thanks to Anton.
- 34:32SPEAKER_04: And this is a unique single.
- 34:35SPEAKER_04: Um, European singles are trick a little difficult to figure out sometimes, like if they're released throughout Europe or certain regions, unless it says, you know, you know, the catalog numbers are different.
- 34:50SPEAKER_04: There's a different code on each European release that I could go into.
- 34:55SPEAKER_04: It's called a format code, or it's um like a Sony code.
- 34:59SPEAKER_04: The first two numbers indicate like where the the release is intended.
- 35:04SPEAKER_04: So if it's 01, it's intended it's intended for throughout Europe.
- 35:08SPEAKER_04: And then it has the catalog number and then it has a format code.
- 35:11SPEAKER_04: So there's say 01, then the catalog number, and then two other digits, depending which indicates the format.
- 35:18SPEAKER_04: Um, so each country has their own code.
- 35:20SPEAKER_04: Like 42 is Spain, um, 31 is the UK.
- 35:25SPEAKER_04: Um this Oye single has an earlier catalog number than the one that we all know with the music video image.
- 35:33SPEAKER_04: Um, and I just couldn't figure out where, you know, the reasoning behind this one with a completely different cover, if it was intended for a certain country or if it was released worldwide.
- 35:43SPEAKER_04: But there aren't I never have seen many copies of it.
- 35:46SPEAKER_04: Um, it's the same cover as the Heavens What I Feel cover, which is unique that they use the same image but different colors for two of the same singles.
- 35:56SPEAKER_04: Um, but yeah, the track listing I think is pretty much the same.
- 36:01SPEAKER_07: Um the French one, yeah.
- 36:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and then there's a French the French one has the same um cover art as um the video, and the French one has one of the French remixes on it.
- 36:15SPEAKER_04: So I don't know if maybe this was released in France.
- 36:18SPEAKER_04: I mean it doesn't have a it has the O1, which indicates like you know, it's throughout Europe, but it never really made it throughout Europe.
- 36:26SPEAKER_04: It doesn't have a specific country code on it, so I'm not sure you know what country it was released from, but I like that cover because of the colors are different.
- 36:35SPEAKER_04: But yeah, thanks to Anton, he sent me this one.
- 36:38SPEAKER_07: Probably my most wanted item, believe it or not.
- 36:40SPEAKER_04: Oh, I was gonna have to ask you.
- 36:42SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I I've never seen one for sale.
- 36:44SPEAKER_04: He had an extra card.
- 36:45SPEAKER_08: A lot of in Discos.
- 36:47SPEAKER_08: You can find two or three pieces now from this one.
- 36:49SPEAKER_04: Oh, so they have them available?
- 36:51SPEAKER_04: Okay, good.
- 36:52SPEAKER_07: They're pretty poor quality, what I've been able to find.
- 36:54SPEAKER_07: So obviously, I'm looking for a mint one.
- 36:58SPEAKER_07: So I just need to be patient.
- 37:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, a lot of those have writing or massive stickers on them, didn't they?
- 37:04SPEAKER_04: A lot of them did, yeah.
- 37:05SPEAKER_04: And then you couldn't get the sticker off, but then yeah, then the stickers are cool.
- 37:10SPEAKER_04: Well, sometimes the the the hype stickers are cool depending on the font, you know.
- 37:14SPEAKER_04: I I love I love a hype sticker.
- 37:15SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, you're a hype sticker guy.
- 37:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 37:18SPEAKER_06: I absolutely love them.
- 37:20SPEAKER_06: I just learned what a hype sticker was this year.
- 37:25SPEAKER_06: Yeah, and you know, it's that's that's how out of touch I am.
- 37:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah, as kids, you you know, when you would open them up, uh when even when I was a kid, I was like, you know, we gotta keep the sticker and pull the sticker off and put it on there on the on the cover.
- 37:38SPEAKER_04: A lot of people just opened it and threw it away, you know.
- 37:41SPEAKER_04: So it just makes it look cool.
- 37:43SPEAKER_08: I have like 30 or 35 different records from primitive love, and they all have a different sticker on it.
- 37:50SPEAKER_08: Well, yeah, with the with the Smash It's Conga, with Bad Boy, or in in Spanish, or whatever, uh CBS 20 years.
- 37:57SPEAKER_08: Uh there are a lot of hype stickers on the Primitive Love albums.
- 38:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, one of the Primitive Love hype stickers is quite interesting, isn't it?
- 38:04SPEAKER_01: On the UK one where it's where it mentions the hit single Primitive Love.
- 38:09SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, that's right.
- 38:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 38:11SPEAKER_01: That's really interesting.
- 38:12SPEAKER_01: So they obviously plan to release it as a single at some point, but yeah, they didn't.
- 38:15SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I don't know if you guys, Rob and Carlos, like when the albums come out, they it'll say featuring the hits.
- 38:22SPEAKER_04: I know the Gloria album says Heavens Would I Feel, Don't Let This Morning, Oh yeah, and it says, Oh, what's the other don't stop?
- 38:30SPEAKER_04: So it makes me wonder if Don't Stop was intended to be a single in the US.
- 38:35SPEAKER_03: And they didn't that was always my question as a kid, like when it had those four tracks, like are though were those supposedly the intended future releases.
- 38:44SPEAKER_04: It makes sense to me.
- 38:45SPEAKER_04: The let it loose, I don't know, I can't say for certain, but even the let it loose LP that I have from the US, it has it includes Surrender.
- 38:54SPEAKER_04: So and Surrender was never released as a single.
- 38:56SPEAKER_04: All the remixes of Surrender made me realize made me wonder if like that was a plan single.
- 39:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 39:02SPEAKER_03: Going back to what a tune.
- 39:04SPEAKER_04: But the release don't stop in Spain.
- 39:07SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it was a promo in Spain, right?
- 39:09SPEAKER_06: Yeah, and in Miami, we got to hear that on the radio, not too many times, but I did catch it on the radio a few times.
- 39:19SPEAKER_04: Very hard in time.
- 39:20SPEAKER_04: Who's next?
- 39:21SPEAKER_08: Well, we're speaking about French, the French promo of uh Abriendo Puertas.
- 39:25SPEAKER_08: So wooden house doors.
- 39:27SPEAKER_04: Oh my god, yes, you can open it.
- 39:32SPEAKER_03: Holy cow!
- 39:33SPEAKER_07: That's cool.
- 39:35SPEAKER_07: That existed.
- 39:36SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I don't I don't think I no, I don't think I knew that.
- 39:39SPEAKER_04: It's a wooden box with two doors that open it.
- 39:44SPEAKER_08: It's uh it's a French uh yeah, stuff about the the music and bringing up what it has.
- 39:50SPEAKER_04: Oh, that's really cool.
- 39:51SPEAKER_04: Yeah, send me some pictures of that.
- 39:53SPEAKER_04: I'd love to see it.
- 39:54SPEAKER_07: Inside, I didn't know that exists.
- 39:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I don't think you ever sent me pictures of that.
- 39:58SPEAKER_04: That's the unless my memory is not so good anymore.
- 40:02SPEAKER_04: But yeah, that's really cool.
- 40:04SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 40:05SPEAKER_03: Our listeners are gonna really want to see that.
- 40:07SPEAKER_03: So yeah, we would love to post pictures of that for everybody.
- 40:12SPEAKER_04: All right, Steve, you're uh okay.
- 40:14SPEAKER_07: Yeah, last minute change.
- 40:15SPEAKER_07: I've just changed my mind on what I was going to show.
- 40:18SPEAKER_07: So um, this is a actually a trio of Japanese editions of earlier Gloria albums, which were released.
- 40:26SPEAKER_07: It's almost like uh pseudo album covers with obese, which are pretty rare and pretty beautiful.
- 40:32SPEAKER_04: So the mini LP series, yeah.
- 40:36SPEAKER_04: Yeah, those are very expensive now.
- 40:38SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I really I really struggled to find the primitive love one.
- 40:41SPEAKER_07: And in fact, when I I found it, I posted it on on social media and Gloria actually commented on it saying she didn't even think that she had it.
- 40:49SPEAKER_07: So that kind of says it all.
- 40:52SPEAKER_07: So there's the primitive love there.
- 40:54SPEAKER_07: Um, let it lose.
- 40:55SPEAKER_07: I absolutely love the Eyes of Innocence one.
- 40:57SPEAKER_07: I just think that album cover is so beautiful.
- 41:01SPEAKER_07: Um it it's probably a little bit more, I think you know, for a casual record buyer's maybe a bit more appealing than the the one that's been used.
- 41:09SPEAKER_07: Um I'm a real sucker for an obese strip.
- 41:13SPEAKER_07: So when I see things with obese strips, I'm I'm I I I just go straight for them, you know.
- 41:20SPEAKER_07: Um, and these ones are lovely.
- 41:22SPEAKER_07: So I display these actually.
- 41:24SPEAKER_07: Um, they're not just sitting stacked with CDs.
- 41:26SPEAKER_07: That's how much I love them.
- 41:29SPEAKER_07: And the fact that they're rare, that's a bonus, but I don't think of them in monetary values.
- 41:33SPEAKER_07: I just love you know how well they're put together.
- 41:36SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they really are.
- 41:37SPEAKER_04: They're they're um they released a lot of artists, like three-issued.
- 41:40SPEAKER_04: Um, they're basically mini, it's like a mini LP series.
- 41:44SPEAKER_04: They take they were le they were reissued in 2009 um to make a CD look like exactly what the vinyl looked like when it was reissued.
- 41:52SPEAKER_04: But the th you the the the good thing about those is they included bonus tracks that weren't on the vinyl.
- 41:58SPEAKER_04: So we got bonus tracks on on those.
- 42:00SPEAKER_04: I can't remember.
- 42:01SPEAKER_04: I think I'd have to look and see what the bonus tracks were.
- 42:04SPEAKER_04: I'll mess them up now.
- 42:04SPEAKER_04: But yeah, those are highly sought after.
- 42:07SPEAKER_04: Um and I think I don't know that they were remastered.
- 42:11SPEAKER_04: Um, I don't think they were remastered, but they sound very good.
- 42:14SPEAKER_07: What's that?
- 42:15SPEAKER_07: Um I've never played them, so um they sound really good.
- 42:19SPEAKER_07: Yeah, but um let it loose just has the two bonus tracks from the CD.
- 42:24SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it has the four bonus tracks, like the international, and then it has I think anything for you Spanish version, and then the dub mix of one, two, three.
- 42:34SPEAKER_04: Is that right?
- 42:36SPEAKER_07: It uh it's uh rhythm is gonna get you special dance mix and spit that you say that special dance mix.
- 42:42SPEAKER_04: Yeah, so that's the international version, and then there's two other ones.
- 42:45SPEAKER_04: There's two other remixes on there as well that they included for that Japanese release.
- 42:52SPEAKER_07: Just not on this version that I have.
- 42:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they may have not put it on the backtrack listing.
- 42:57SPEAKER_07: Uh no, they they haven't.
- 42:59SPEAKER_07: It it says no 14.
- 43:00SPEAKER_07: Actually, there is two more.
- 43:01SPEAKER_07: I don't read Japanese, so yeah, you're right.
- 43:04SPEAKER_04: Here I can.
- 43:05SPEAKER_07: But it doesn't have it on the the albums.
- 43:07SPEAKER_04: You can bring it up right real quick.
- 43:13SPEAKER_04: So for those listeners out there, I have those um on my Instagram so you could look at them.
- 43:20SPEAKER_04: But um yeah, those were reissued in 2009.
- 43:24SPEAKER_04: Eyes of Innocence included for the first time on CD.
- 43:31SPEAKER_04: Eyes of Innocence included two bonus tracks, I Need a Man long version and Dr.
- 43:36SPEAKER_04: Beat long version.
- 43:38SPEAKER_04: Um, and then the Let It Loose included the two international bonus tracks that we didn't get in the US, which he Steve just mentioned.
- 43:50SPEAKER_04: Rhythm is gonna get you 12-inch version and um Bet You Say That 12-inch version.
- 43:56SPEAKER_04: Then the two additional bonus tracks for The mini LP series was the extended version of 123 and anything for you Spanish version.
- 44:05SPEAKER_04: So those were the two re um bonus tracks for that.
- 44:09SPEAKER_04: Now last one, Primitive Love, it was the four remixes on the international version, and then they included one bonus track for that particular release, which was the sheepettibone dub version of Bad Boy.
- 44:26SPEAKER_05: Jimmy, what do you have?
- 44:28SPEAKER_01: Well, I'm actually gonna go completely off piece.
- 44:31SPEAKER_01: One second.
- 44:33SPEAKER_01: And really.
- 44:36SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 44:39SPEAKER_01: So this is Gloria.
- 44:42SPEAKER_04: Oh my god!
- 44:44SPEAKER_03: That is awesome.
- 44:45SPEAKER_01: She's 14.
- 44:47SPEAKER_03: She's 14.
- 44:48SPEAKER_03: Oh, look at her.
- 44:48SPEAKER_01: Yep, so for those who are listening, this is my pet dog, Gloria.
- 44:52SPEAKER_01: She's a Bijan Friese.
- 44:54SPEAKER_01: Um she um beautiful fluffy white dog.
- 44:59SPEAKER_01: Um and she was obviously named after Gloria.
- 45:04SPEAKER_01: Does she also sing she she she's quite vocal when there's other animals on I'm gonna put her down because um she's quite vocal when there's other animals on TV.
- 45:15SPEAKER_01: She yap she yaps a lot of those sort of things, but she doesn't she's not she's not the best singer.
- 45:20SPEAKER_01: Some people might say she's annoying, but um, I remember when when she when we first brought her home, I did tweet about it and Gloria did respond to it.
- 45:28SPEAKER_01: Um and she she said, Oh, we look the same, got even got the same hair thing going on.
- 45:33SPEAKER_01: It was quite funny.
- 45:34SPEAKER_01: She had a booth on hair.
- 45:36SPEAKER_01: So yes, I went a bit of peace there just to bring a bit of a light relief.
- 45:41SPEAKER_04: Oh, I love it.
- 45:42SPEAKER_04: Nerdiness.
- 45:43SPEAKER_04: Wow, that's awesome.
- 45:44unknown: Wow.
- 45:44SPEAKER_03: Stove, you were so close to winning, but I'm sorry, Gloria won it.
- 45:48SPEAKER_03: That's awesome.
- 45:50SPEAKER_07: All right, let me take a lot of different choices.
- 45:52SPEAKER_07: Have been we've all had very different choices.
- 45:54SPEAKER_03: No, I agree.
- 45:55SPEAKER_03: It's super cool.
- 45:56SPEAKER_03: Um this is our last round, right, Wes?
- 45:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it is.
- 45:59SPEAKER_04: And I um changed my mind.
- 46:01SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna go grab something.
- 46:02SPEAKER_04: I'll be right back.
- 46:03SPEAKER_03: Oh, pause.
- 46:04SPEAKER_04: Field trip.
- 46:05SPEAKER_02: Okay, bye.
- 46:08SPEAKER_06: All right, Rob, you wanna play some music right now?
- 46:10SPEAKER_06: Are we vamping?
- 46:11SPEAKER_03: Like, what are we doing?
- 46:12SPEAKER_03: Elevator music.
- 46:14SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna find some elevator music.
- 46:16SPEAKER_03: Both these.
- 46:17SPEAKER_03: Boy, oh boy.
- 46:18SPEAKER_03: Oh, you gotta love West.
- 46:21SPEAKER_03: So for our listeners, Wes just is easy.
- 46:25SPEAKER_03: Just got up and left.
- 46:29SPEAKER_01: I thought the fat he switched his came off as well.
- 46:34SPEAKER_03: Never let them anticipate your next move.
- 46:43SPEAKER_07: I think I would piss myself.
- 46:46SPEAKER_03: He's like for my last piece of memorabilia, oh Rob, can you imagine if he comes back with uh anything for you sweater?
- 46:55SPEAKER_03: But shit, we're just jacket.
- 46:56SPEAKER_03: I would I would lose my mind.
- 46:58SPEAKER_04: All right.
- 46:58SPEAKER_04: Um my last, all right, here we go.
- 47:00SPEAKER_04: My last one.
- 47:01SPEAKER_04: I think we we mentioned this earlier about cancelled, unreleased things, or they were released or manufactured, but they were pulled at the last minute and destroyed.
- 47:15SPEAKER_04: So 1995, June of '95, this single was due to be released.
- 47:22SPEAKER_04: It's too late.
- 47:22SPEAKER_04: Share Shayle FM, is that how you pronounce it?
- 47:25SPEAKER_04: In the UK.
- 47:27SPEAKER_04: But for la for some reason, last minute they pulled the release from the shelves and they were destroyed.
- 47:33SPEAKER_04: But some copies, I guess, leaked because I was able to find one.
- 47:37SPEAKER_04: There was supposed to be two CD singles and a cassette single.
- 47:45SPEAKER_04: So I'm not sure how many copies leaked, but most of them were, you know, destroyed because they decided not to release it.
- 47:52SPEAKER_04: Has two remixes of the radio mix of It's Too Late and the Piano Mix, and then the Radio Club Mix and album version of Chercher La Femme.
- 48:03SPEAKER_04: But I'm sure Anton, you have that one, I'm sure.
- 48:05SPEAKER_04: Steve, you have a copy of that one.
- 48:08SPEAKER_01: So I don't know how I only have the promo, so I don't have that one yet.
- 48:12SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 48:12SPEAKER_04: I'd love to know if they manufactured like part two and the cassettes, but I've never seen those.
- 48:21SPEAKER_02: Me neither.
- 48:24SPEAKER_04: Alright, Anton, what do you have?
- 48:26SPEAKER_08: Uh is this the last round?
- 48:28SPEAKER_06: Um Anton's like, I have everything.
- 48:32SPEAKER_08: There's some uh some uh some uh colour vanilla this uh Rio on the blue vinyl.
- 48:38SPEAKER_08: Oh yeah, it's from uh Colombia.
- 48:42SPEAKER_08: Then we have the primitive love on the yellow on CDS Discos Internacional, and this one is from Colombia, it's also primitive love on blue vinyl.
- 48:59SPEAKER_04: See South America and Central America were doing the colored vinyl long before we were everywhere else.
- 49:05SPEAKER_04: I think some of the US and Mexico, there's a some Mexican colored vinyl.
- 49:10SPEAKER_08: This is a Canadian Conga seven inch from Canada.
- 49:13SPEAKER_04: I've never seen that.
- 49:14SPEAKER_04: Wow Canadian and US releases look pretty much the same.
- 49:20SPEAKER_04: They're the same catalog numbers, pretty much.
- 49:23SPEAKER_08: But they say made in Canada.
- 49:25SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they'll say made in Canada.
- 49:26SPEAKER_04: And some of the Canadian releases will have a C in front of the catalog, like EK in is like the the first two letters in a catalog number on a C D.
- 49:36SPEAKER_04: Um it'll have C in front of it.
- 49:38SPEAKER_04: That's correct.
- 49:39SPEAKER_04: You can you can tell.
- 49:41SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's cool.
- 49:44SPEAKER_04: All right, see, what's your last one?
- 49:46SPEAKER_07: Oh, I thought we had done five already, right?
- 49:49SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 49:49SPEAKER_03: Um, but even if if I'm sure you can find something.
- 49:53SPEAKER_07: I do I did inspire something because I thought maybe it was a bit indulgent, but I think you know, a lot of my collecting, you know, just going uh when we've been doing this, I've been thinking a lot of the things that I love the most are things that are extremely personal to me.
- 50:06SPEAKER_07: Yeah um I did go through the phases of love loving, you know, buying all the different um country editions, but this along with the necklace are probably two of my favorite things in my Gloria collection, along with the signed Destiny, of course.
- 50:22SPEAKER_07: Um so when I turned 40, um, and actually when I turned 52, I know I only looked 25, but um got a lovely birthday card from Gloria.
- 50:33SPEAKER_04: Oh, that's awesome.
- 50:34SPEAKER_07: Congratulating me, which I have framed, and it says, Have as beautiful a 40s as I enjoyed, which I thought was very special.
- 50:42SPEAKER_07: She was sharing a little bit about herself and her life and her experiences, and that meant a lot.
- 50:47SPEAKER_07: That geared me up for my 40s because when I turned 40, I did not um cope with it very graciously.
- 50:55SPEAKER_07: Um I don't know if you've seen that episode of Absolutely Fabulous where Adina turns 40 with me, and that was kind of very gracious.
- 51:05SPEAKER_07: So that really, really was a you know, it was a great motivator for me too.
- 51:09SPEAKER_07: Um, but I just love that, you know.
- 51:10SPEAKER_07: I just I think it just says it all about who Gloria is as a person.
- 51:15SPEAKER_07: So I obviously didn't let her know.
- 51:16SPEAKER_07: I was turning 40.
- 51:17SPEAKER_07: A very good friend who I've mentioned his name before um on the podcast, um, he organized that for me, and so I was not expecting that at all.
- 51:27SPEAKER_07: But it was so so nice of Gloria, not just to take the time, but to put that personal message on.
- 51:32SPEAKER_07: So I just love that.
- 51:34SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he's a good guy, that's for sure.
- 51:36SPEAKER_04: That's very special.
- 51:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he's very special.
- 51:40SPEAKER_05: So that's me.
- 51:41SPEAKER_05: Alright, Jenny, take us home.
- 51:44SPEAKER_01: Oh goodness, I thought I did do five.
- 51:47SPEAKER_01: One second.
- 51:48SPEAKER_01: What am I gonna do?
- 51:49SPEAKER_06: Do we lose a count?
- 51:50SPEAKER_06: We don't know how to count over here for those countries.
- 51:53SPEAKER_03: This is your yeah.
- 51:55SPEAKER_04: Okay, I'm going to if you don't have anything prepared, it's fine.
- 51:59SPEAKER_01: I've got a massive part here, but yeah, I know.
- 52:03SPEAKER_01: But um, I I do you know what I've been get really getting into recently?
- 52:08SPEAKER_01: Laserdiscs.
- 52:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 52:09SPEAKER_04: And they you don't have to have something rare.
- 52:11SPEAKER_04: I love laser discs.
- 52:12SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 52:13SPEAKER_01: So like for instance, this is the Japanese Intel like World Horror Japanese one, yeah.
- 52:19SPEAKER_01: It's uh I just the reason I love them is because I love the vinyl so much.
- 52:24SPEAKER_01: And the and there obviously isn't any live vinyls for Gloria.
- 52:29SPEAKER_01: Commercially released live vinyls for Gloria.
- 52:32SPEAKER_01: Um so these fill a nice little hole in the uh in the collection.
- 52:37SPEAKER_01: So that because they're the same size.
- 52:39SPEAKER_01: Um I don't have a a Laserdisc player, but they just they fill that hole for me.
- 52:45SPEAKER_01: And I know the tracks are on there, don't I don't need to watch it.
- 52:48SPEAKER_04: So the funny thing about Laserdisc is um I watched like the homecoming concert so much, and VHS tapes are horrible in quality, as we all know.
- 53:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and you remember when they you have to mess with the tracking to make it look good.
- 53:04SPEAKER_04: I rewind it and fast forwarded so much, I like broke I don't know how many VCRs from the homecoming concert.
- 53:13SPEAKER_04: So my dad's like, we're just getting rid of a VHS VCR, and he splurged on on Laserdisc, which Laserdisc really never caught on because for want of cost, but the they're they were quite more expensive to buy a laserd than a VHS tape, and but the the quality video quality is so much better than a VHS.
- 53:32SPEAKER_04: It's it's one of those formats that I don't think a lot of people know really know about.
- 53:37SPEAKER_01: No, it's a cool format, it's basically like a large CD, really.
- 53:41SPEAKER_04: Speaking of and speaking of video formats, I had this one prepared.
- 53:45SPEAKER_04: It's pretty rare.
- 53:46SPEAKER_04: There's only in Asia were they popular.
- 53:49SPEAKER_04: What with this format was a thing.
- 53:51SPEAKER_04: It's called video CD.
- 53:52SPEAKER_04: The quality is horrible.
- 53:54SPEAKER_04: Um it's terrible.
- 53:56SPEAKER_04: Um, yeah.
- 53:57SPEAKER_04: So there's a it it's a V C D um or a video CD.
- 54:01SPEAKER_04: This comes from South.
- 54:03SPEAKER_04: I bought this one in from Taiwan, but it looks like it's Casiga La Tradition.
- 54:09SPEAKER_04: Um, I just love the artwork so much.
- 54:12SPEAKER_04: I rarely ever watch it because the DVD is so much better in quality, but um, and the the CD is red.
- 54:20SPEAKER_04: Um and it came with an OBI strip as well.
- 54:24SPEAKER_04: But yes, video CD is probably one of those formats that a lot of people may not know about, but only two of her albums were officially released or home videos were officially released on the video CD format, and that was Everlasting Gloria and Casey Galatradicion.
- 54:40SPEAKER_04: A lot of there's a lot of video CD bootlegs out there.
- 54:44SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 54:45SPEAKER_04: Now my question for you guys are you still collecting?
- 54:50SPEAKER_04: Are you?
- 54:51SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 54:52SPEAKER_04: I really don't.
- 54:53SPEAKER_04: I I I'll buy new things that are reissued as like what we've been lucky to have the music on vinyl reissues, but anything new that comes out, yeah, I'll buy.
- 55:01SPEAKER_04: But I don't really look at eBay or discogs anymore to look every once in a while I'll look back at things um to see what they have.
- 55:08SPEAKER_04: But there are two.
- 55:09SPEAKER_04: Here's gonna lead into my next question.
- 55:12SPEAKER_04: Every we have holy grail items that we're on the hunt for.
- 55:16SPEAKER_04: Um, and I have two things.
- 55:21SPEAKER_04: I'd say the one that's I love the most, Anton, you have, which is from Ecuador.
- 55:28SPEAKER_04: I love the the the photo.
- 55:31SPEAKER_04: It's the 12-inch single of Ivoia Perderte.
- 55:36SPEAKER_04: And that's the only country that released that 12-inch single with that.
- 55:40SPEAKER_01: It's quite unique, Steve, hasn't it as well?
- 55:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, right?
- 55:43SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I want that so bad.
- 55:45SPEAKER_04: Yes, that's the only place that the country that that was released.
- 55:48SPEAKER_04: It's popped up on eBay last week two times.
- 55:51SPEAKER_04: Why didn't you call me or let me know?
- 55:53SPEAKER_08: But I didn't know that you're gonna have to pay it.
- 55:54SPEAKER_08: But you have to pay for it, huh?
- 55:56SPEAKER_08: Oh no, but now I'm gonna be$50 already.
- 55:59SPEAKER_08: Yeah, they're gonna be expensive, people.
- 56:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I I'd that would be the only thing I would I think I would splurge on, or that and me buen amore US C D the promo CD single, because then that would finish out my collection of I have every promo CD, US promo CD.
- 56:17SPEAKER_04: And the funny thing is, is I that one's so highly sought after, and I want to complete that collection, but I don't really like the cover art at all.
- 56:24SPEAKER_04: And that's one of the skip songs for me.
- 56:26SPEAKER_04: Rob's gonna hate me for that, but um, but I don't know why that one's so rare.
- 56:31SPEAKER_04: You can find the other ones pretty easily.
- 56:35SPEAKER_04: But maybe, maybe this too.
- 56:37SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 56:37SPEAKER_04: I have to mention this.
- 56:38SPEAKER_04: I don't know if you all know this or not, but Jimmy mentioned it initially.
- 56:45SPEAKER_04: Um, this unreleased uh versions of singles.
- 56:49SPEAKER_04: Um, maybe not everybody out there knows, but wrapped plant was planned to be released in the UK.
- 56:55SPEAKER_04: So we wonder if there were any like copies that were manufactured that leaked out to the world.
- 57:02SPEAKER_04: I doubt there have been, or we would have seen them.
- 57:04SPEAKER_04: Um but wrapped there were going to be two CD singles of Wrapped.
- 57:08SPEAKER_04: The first CD single, the the the Sony Music UK released the catalog numbers and track listings on their website back when um Unwrapped was coming out.
- 57:20SPEAKER_04: And so we I remember like waiting to find that when it was released, but they never did show up online anywhere.
- 57:27SPEAKER_04: But part two had just three tracks, it had wrapped and like can't stay away from you and don't want to lose you.
- 57:35SPEAKER_04: Um so it'd be it'd be interesting to see you know what the planned cover art looked like and what they were gonna do with that.
- 57:42SPEAKER_04: Um hopefully maybe we'll find out someday.
- 57:46SPEAKER_04: But the one that's really, really cool that never came to um see the light of day was, and this came from an official document from the Netherlands, actually, from Sony Music.
- 58:02SPEAKER_04: Um, they sent a friend of mine who was writing a book, a friend of us, the their catalog or discography of Gloria, of their releases.
- 58:13SPEAKER_04: So believe it or not, and I have the catalog numbers here in the formats that were scheduled to be released.
- 58:21SPEAKER_04: Steal Your Heart.
- 58:22SPEAKER_04: There were gonna be Steel Your Heart was gonna be released in Europe.
- 58:25SPEAKER_04: There was gonna be a CD single, CD Maxi single, and a 12-inch vinyl single of Still Your Heart, but they canceled it.
- 58:32SPEAKER_04: So that cover art of No Better Thin Though, Steel Your Heart was great.
- 58:37SPEAKER_04: Wouldn't imagine that in 12-inch single if we if we would ever be able to get a copy of that.
- 58:44SPEAKER_04: If it was ever made, we know we'd never know.
- 58:49SPEAKER_04: But yeah, this has been fun.
- 58:50SPEAKER_04: We could talk and talk and talk about stuff.
- 58:53SPEAKER_04: Anton, your stuff was you have a massive, massive, great collection.
- 58:59SPEAKER_04: Just that Abriendo Puertas promo thing you showed us.
- 59:03SPEAKER_04: I had never knew that existed.
- 59:05SPEAKER_04: No, that was really cool.
- 59:06SPEAKER_04: No, I've never seen that one.
- 59:07SPEAKER_06: Yeah, you guys have some pretty cool stuff.
- 59:09SPEAKER_06: It's especially, yeah, I mean, for me, it's it's pretty interesting because since I'm not in that world, you know, I really have I have no idea what's even out there.
- 59:17SPEAKER_06: So you know, it's it'll be fun.
- 59:19SPEAKER_06: I I hope you guys will be willing to share some pictures so that way, you know, everyone else out there and let it loose land could uh could take a look at this.
- 59:28SPEAKER_04: Pretty much everything I showed is out there on my Instagram account.
- 59:32SPEAKER_04: So um it's already out there on Gloria Steph on Record Collector, but you guys, we want to see your stuff, photos of your stuff.
- 59:39SPEAKER_04: So that'd be great if you could send us some rare things.
- 59:43SPEAKER_04: Even if you didn't show it on here, we would love to share it with people because I think a lot of people will there's a lot of collectors out there who would want to know.
- 59:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 59:51SPEAKER_06: Did everyone already share their holy grails?
- 59:55SPEAKER_04: I shared mine.
- 59:56SPEAKER_04: Let's hear what what are your no, they didn't.
- 59:59SPEAKER_03: No, they did not.
- 1:00:02SPEAKER_04: So Antony.
- 1:00:07SPEAKER_08: Still for the seven inch of uh can stay away from you.
- 1:00:10SPEAKER_04: Can't stay away from you.
- 1:00:11SPEAKER_04: You mentioned that earlier.
- 1:00:11SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's right.
- 1:00:12SPEAKER_08: Yeah, the uh the white poster sleeve.
- 1:00:14SPEAKER_08: Same, save.
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_08: Yes, and it's also an a Japanese um it's a CD single.
- 1:00:24SPEAKER_08: I don't know if it's out of nowhere.
- 1:00:26SPEAKER_08: It's a white sleeve.
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_04: David Riley has one.
- 1:00:29SPEAKER_08: Yeah, it's that's also one still looking for.
- 1:00:31SPEAKER_08: And the last one I was uh looking for was this one, but I found it on uh it's from France.
- 1:00:36SPEAKER_08: The French one showed me that last time.
- 1:00:38SPEAKER_08: Yeah, and what is it?
- 1:00:40SPEAKER_08: It's a cassette single, only in French.
- 1:00:42SPEAKER_08: Coming out of the dark.
- 1:00:44SPEAKER_08: Okay, yeah, but it's only released in French.
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_04: Okay, yeah, I just thought of another holy grail since you showed the cassette single, and I don't know.
- 1:00:51SPEAKER_04: I'll mention this because I don't think a lot of people know about it, because I didn't.
- 1:00:55SPEAKER_04: Um back in 2001 when Sony released or Sony Epic released part two of Out of Nowhere, um, the CD single version of the close-up image from the music video.
- 1:01:08SPEAKER_04: I remember online that the CD single was being released, and it also listed a cassette single.
- 1:01:15SPEAKER_04: Um, the radio edit of Out of Nowhere and Polo Umbeso was tracked too.
- 1:01:19SPEAKER_04: But never did the cassette single get released.
- 1:01:22SPEAKER_04: I it was canceled.
- 1:01:24SPEAKER_04: So I never knew that they even manufactured it.
- 1:01:28SPEAKER_04: And one day one of my followers um sent me a message on inst on um Instagram and showed me that he had bought an online auction in Japan and it was a sealed copy of I don't know where the US cassette single.
- 1:01:40SPEAKER_04: And I was like, that is the only one that I know it exists.
- 1:01:43SPEAKER_04: So he's like, he's like, Steve, he's not opened it.
- 1:01:46SPEAKER_04: And I was like, you gotta open it and send pictures and see what it looks like on the inside because nobody's ever seen one, but he still hasn't opened it.
- 1:01:53SPEAKER_06: Interesting.
- 1:01:54SPEAKER_06: And uh Jimmy, your holy grail was the can't stay away from from you, right?
- 1:01:58SPEAKER_01: Well, there's two can stay wave and use that that I might that I constantly look for.
- 1:02:02SPEAKER_01: The other one is the uncut picture disc.
- 1:02:05SPEAKER_01: So in the UK it was released in a shaped picture disc.
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_01: And I and Anton's about to show us the uncut.
- 1:02:11SPEAKER_01: Yep, there's the uncut one.
- 1:02:16SPEAKER_04: I love this one better than the shape.
- 1:02:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, I can imagine.
- 1:02:19SPEAKER_04: I have that one.
- 1:02:20SPEAKER_04: I've never played it before.
- 1:02:21SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_04: I've never played it on the turntable.
- 1:02:25SPEAKER_08: But that that's one thing was what I'm missing from Gloria.
- 1:02:28SPEAKER_08: It's like picture disc, shape picture disc.
- 1:02:30SPEAKER_08: There's only this release, there's nothing more.
- 1:02:32SPEAKER_08: But like Madonna in the 80s, every single, if there's a picture disc, a shape picture disc.
- 1:02:37SPEAKER_08: Yeah, that's what I'm missing from Gloria.
- 1:02:43SPEAKER_04: They they um they get a bad rap, and I think I know what they're the sound quality on picture discs aren't very good, is what the the true audio files say on the vinyl, because it's a picture.
- 1:02:53SPEAKER_08: It looks nice on the wall.
- 1:02:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it looks right.
- 1:02:55SPEAKER_04: It's just for looks, it's not for sound quality.
- 1:02:59SPEAKER_04: All right.
- 1:03:00SPEAKER_06: How about Steve?
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_07: Uh I think I've touched on mine, which is definitely the OA and the Destiny S that I've mentioned.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_07: Um, I'm a little more selective.
- 1:03:10SPEAKER_07: I mean, I am active on eBay, but because I have so much stuff, because I collect other artists too.
- 1:03:16SPEAKER_07: I try to be really selective now in terms of what I buy, but yeah, in terms of holy grail now with Gloria, really ideally I would like to have some more vinyls signed by her that I could um that I could frame.
- 1:03:28SPEAKER_07: So uh cuts both ways, let it loose, and hold me thrill me would be fantastic.
- 1:03:34SPEAKER_07: But in terms of actual items now, not so much other than those two, I think.
- 1:03:38SPEAKER_07: Uh if I see something though, that Ecuador 12-inch looks very, very nice.
- 1:03:43SPEAKER_07: Yeah, that could be something I start to to look out for, but um nothing else screams to mind.
- 1:03:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah, unless something pops up that you don't we don't know about, right?
- 1:03:53SPEAKER_07: Yeah, that that that too, but primitive love tour merch, if that ever was to appear, then I would definitely be going after that.
- 1:04:00SPEAKER_04: That's something we've talked about a lot on here.
- 1:04:02SPEAKER_04: We would love some reissued merch, wouldn't we?
- 1:04:04SPEAKER_04: Like from the tourers, yeah.
- 1:04:06SPEAKER_03: That would be amazing.
- 1:04:07SPEAKER_03: That I do agree with.
- 1:04:09SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like you know, nostalgia's cool.
- 1:04:11SPEAKER_03: Nostalgia's in right now, so why not?
- 1:04:14SPEAKER_03: That's awesome.
- 1:04:18SPEAKER_01: Oh Madonna.
- 1:04:19SPEAKER_07: Yeah, her last her celebration tour, she did like re revamped t-shirts from her old tours.
- 1:04:26SPEAKER_07: So for Gloria to do something like that would be that's cool.
- 1:04:30SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and they have I think they have still access to that because I saw a picture of Naive.
- 1:04:36SPEAKER_04: Um his wife had a story one.
- 1:04:40SPEAKER_04: I mean, this has been many years ago, but the end of the light tour, there was an end of the light tour shirt that had a close-up of her face, and the shirt, it was on the front and the back, it was just a white t-shirt.
- 1:04:52SPEAKER_04: But he was wearing his mom's shirt from the end of the light tour, and it wasn't all that long ago, so it had to have been recently.
- 1:04:58SPEAKER_04: Um, it was then even an extra one or or something, but they they could still give us those.
- 1:05:03SPEAKER_06: Let's let's we need a trip to the vault.
- 1:05:05SPEAKER_06: Yes, we do.
- 1:05:06SPEAKER_06: Oh, yes.
- 1:05:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah, let's do a supermarket sweep through the vault.
- 1:05:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, okay, have that that that VHS that legend legend says Amelia tried to destroy all copies of.
- 1:05:19SPEAKER_01: I have a bootleg of the bootleg.
- 1:05:21SPEAKER_01: It is a bootleg.
- 1:05:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:05:23SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I have the bootleg of it, of the bootleg.
- 1:05:26SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, it's a bootleg copy.
- 1:05:29unknown: Interesting.
- 1:05:30SPEAKER_04: Um, Anton has it.
- 1:05:31SPEAKER_04: Anton has it right behind him if you look right above on sitting on top of his head.
- 1:05:36SPEAKER_04: That's the one we're talking about.
- 1:05:37SPEAKER_06: Oh, yeah, that's it.
- 1:05:38SPEAKER_06: That's it.
- 1:05:39SPEAKER_08: The video.
- 1:05:40SPEAKER_06: The video, yeah.
- 1:05:41SPEAKER_08: Yeah, no.
- 1:05:42SPEAKER_08: I've thought so on D V D.
- 1:05:45SPEAKER_08: Oh yeah.
- 1:05:46SPEAKER_06: You have that on D V D.
- 1:05:48SPEAKER_04: It's an illegal copy, but it's it worked.
- 1:05:50SPEAKER_04: Somebody converted.
- 1:05:51SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:05:52SPEAKER_06: Yeah, that that has some interesting videos.
- 1:05:55SPEAKER_04: Yes, it does.
- 1:05:56SPEAKER_06: Very interesting videos.
- 1:05:57SPEAKER_06: So all right guys, so we have reached the The segment of our show, very last part of our show where we get to let it loose.
- 1:06:04SPEAKER_06: Now, of course, Gloria does you know tune in every once in a while.
- 1:06:07SPEAKER_06: So if there's something that you guys want to share, whether it's just something related to the topic that we spoke about today, or just a message to Gloria or anyone in Let It Loose Land, this is your moment to let it loose.
- 1:06:19SPEAKER_06: So uh, does anyone want to go first?
- 1:06:24SPEAKER_06: Does anyone want to go?
- 1:06:25SPEAKER_06: Period.
- 1:06:26SPEAKER_01: I'll I'll go first.
- 1:06:28SPEAKER_01: Jimmy, go for it.
- 1:06:30SPEAKER_01: Okay, so for me, my let it loose is I want more.
- 1:06:35SPEAKER_01: I want more vinyl, more reissues, more colored vinyls, I want box sets, I want expand extended expanded versions.
- 1:06:45SPEAKER_01: I just want more.
- 1:06:47SPEAKER_01: So and I I was so happy when Races was released and then and they did them the kind of marble uh smoky marbled vinyl, and then they also did the lenticular version.
- 1:06:57SPEAKER_01: That's what I want to see more of, more of those sort of things.
- 1:07:01SPEAKER_01: So I want all the I want all the old Manami Sound Machine LPs reissuing vinyl stuff.
- 1:07:07SPEAKER_06: They're supposed to be listening.
- 1:07:12SPEAKER_06: We've been here hearing that for like three 30 years now.
- 1:07:15SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and all of them have been like remastered for digital audio.
- 1:07:19SPEAKER_04: You know, we two of the albums were released digitally a few years ago, but we're waiting on the others.
- 1:07:24SPEAKER_06: Yeah, so Gloria, if you're if you're listening, Jimmy wants it all.
- 1:07:28SPEAKER_06: He wants more, more, more.
- 1:07:30SPEAKER_04: I'm wanting a lot of machina digital, that would be great.
- 1:07:33SPEAKER_04: I love that album.
- 1:07:34SPEAKER_06: So Anton, do you have a let it loose?
- 1:07:38SPEAKER_08: Yes, I have.
- 1:07:39SPEAKER_06: All right, go for it.
- 1:07:41SPEAKER_08: But uh also the release, but I also like to uh to get a live album officially from any tour.
- 1:07:48SPEAKER_08: I don't know, but a live album is missing, also.
- 1:07:52SPEAKER_08: And second, um I I met Gloria a lot of times, but there's one uh thing that um is really uh special because she was here for one week in in Holland to promote uh On Your Feet musical, and she took us out for dinner.
- 1:08:09SPEAKER_08: 20 fans.
- 1:08:10SPEAKER_08: We went to a Japanese restaurant with Gloria, and Gloria was walking in the city Utrecht without any um uh how do you say it?
- 1:08:18SPEAKER_08: Any uh bodyguard, nobody, no, just walking on the street, talking with her fans, and then sitting in a restaurant reserved under the name Estefan, and we were there with 20 fans eating a sushi with her.
- 1:08:32SPEAKER_08: It was incredible.
- 1:08:34SPEAKER_04: That's awesome.
- 1:08:34SPEAKER_08: That's my my that's that's her part.
- 1:08:36SPEAKER_08: There's no other artist in the world who is so special with with her fans, so uh closed, so open, she loves us.
- 1:08:44SPEAKER_08: We are Conga peeps, Migenta.
- 1:08:48SPEAKER_08: She's so special.
- 1:08:49SPEAKER_03: Love that.
- 1:08:50SPEAKER_03: Absolutely, I agree with that.
- 1:08:51SPEAKER_08: Thank you for sharing that, Anton.
- 1:08:53SPEAKER_08: Yeah, and and the second is that my daughter is now 14 years old, and I hope she will get one day the possibility to meet her in live because she only knows the stories and the photos from us.
- 1:09:04SPEAKER_08: Yeah, but maybe one day she will get uh to in touch with her and to see her.
- 1:09:09SPEAKER_08: Well, when she goes on tour next year, yeah, or she's coming to a TV show.
- 1:09:14SPEAKER_04: After all the years, my first time was last year.
- 1:09:17SPEAKER_04: I had never even, yeah, I didn't she didn't know who I was until last year.
- 1:09:22SPEAKER_04: So it's it'll happen, Anton.
- 1:09:23SPEAKER_06: And I got to witness that.
- 1:09:25SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:09:26SPEAKER_06: So Steve, it's time for you to let it loose.
- 1:09:30SPEAKER_07: Uh well, uh kind of it's been said by the gents before me, but I came on thinking Miss Little Havana and vinyl is absolutely a want to love an eight, but a word that's a lime green version of that wouldn't that would look so good.
- 1:09:44SPEAKER_07: Yeah, that would just set me off.
- 1:09:46SPEAKER_04: Oh, yes, lime green version, yes.
- 1:09:50SPEAKER_07: But we've we've talked a lot the word eras, you know, uh during the conversation today.
- 1:09:54SPEAKER_07: And what I mean as a collector, but I think what would be lovely, you know, for Gloria to celebrate her legacy, would you know, either by virtue of some sort of like photo book which would go through an evolution, if you will, of you know, all her images, or maybe like a limited edition run of like lithographs of you know classic photos that fans could, you know, well, you know, collect, but that'd also be a fantastic way to celebrate Gloria's career.
- 1:10:26SPEAKER_07: It's not over by any stretch, but you know, we talked about you know, you know, why is vinyl so popular, but you know, so many um artists who've had long-established careers, they're really, really doing a lot to celebrate what they've done.
- 1:10:40SPEAKER_07: And I would love to see Gloria do a bit more.
- 1:10:42SPEAKER_07: I know she's got so much going on in her life, and maybe it's not important, but I think it would be a brilliant way just for her legacy to be um still put out there and remember because there's so many people coming up the ranks all the time, so many be many people being promoted.
- 1:10:58SPEAKER_07: So it'd be nice to keep her name at the forefront where it deserves to be.
- 1:11:03SPEAKER_06: Yep.
- 1:11:04SPEAKER_06: I will co-sign on that.
- 1:11:06SPEAKER_06: And I think that's that's one of the important things that Rob Wes, um, myself, Laura included, that's what we're trying to do with with this podcast.
- 1:11:16SPEAKER_06: Because, you know, sometimes we're we're hearing about all these uh upcoming, or you know, we hear about the Shakiras and the Carol G's and the bad bunnies, and slowly I feel like you know, Gloria's not being mentioned as much.
- 1:11:31SPEAKER_06: So, and you know, my job and our job is to to make sure that the world realizes that she's still around, you know, and uh and there wouldn't be the Shakiras and the Carol G's and the bad bunnies had it not been for her, had it not been for Emilio and everything that they did um back in the 70s and 80s.
- 1:11:52SPEAKER_04: We don't want people to forget, and it's it really means a lot to me to like, you know, I created that record collector account back during COVID because nobody was doing anything, right?
- 1:12:02SPEAKER_04: We what do we know to do with ourselves?
- 1:12:05SPEAKER_04: And I kept seeing a lot of Madonna accounts, Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey fans that were making these record collector accounts, showing off their collection, right?
- 1:12:16SPEAKER_04: And I'm like, you know, that's a good idea.
- 1:12:18SPEAKER_04: There's not any gloria.
- 1:12:19SPEAKER_04: I want to spread and maybe get some people, younger generations, to collect your stuff, you know, to see all these things that we love.
- 1:12:30SPEAKER_04: Um, so I always tell people I wasn't creating that account to show off by any means that I have all this stuff.
- 1:12:36SPEAKER_04: That's not what it was about.
- 1:12:37SPEAKER_04: For one, we what do we know what to do with ourselves during COVID when we were all hibernating?
- 1:12:43SPEAKER_04: And um, I was able to connect with a lot of younger kids that are interested in.
- 1:12:49SPEAKER_04: I was able to hook them up with some things, even sent them some extra stuff.
- 1:12:53SPEAKER_04: And that's what really um really set it off for me was wow, we it means a lot to see others, the younger generation, like getting getting into her music and wanting to collect it.
- 1:13:03SPEAKER_06: Absolutely.
- 1:13:04SPEAKER_06: Well, listen, I gotta, I just want to thank you guys for taking the time.
- 1:13:08SPEAKER_06: Um, Jimmy, you know, it was it was fun seeing you uh here to today after we celebrated last year in in Spain and got to meet each other.
- 1:13:18SPEAKER_06: Um, that was uh a blast.
- 1:13:20SPEAKER_06: Anton, uh it was nice meeting you virtually uh today.
- 1:13:24SPEAKER_06: Yeah, and and Steve, you're my my prisoner of love partner.
- 1:13:29SPEAKER_06: I um we love having you you here, and we hope that you guys will will come back, you know, for for another episode.
- 1:13:37SPEAKER_06: Um I'm sure I'm sure you guys got have plenty more to to talk about.
- 1:13:43SPEAKER_06: Absolutely.
- 1:13:44SPEAKER_06: So thank you for for taking the time to to be with us today.
- 1:13:47SPEAKER_06: And Rob, do you want to go ahead and yeah, absolutely?
- 1:13:50SPEAKER_03: You know, what I love about show totally, what I love about doing this show is that um we have really highlighted different ways in which people celebrate being a fan.
- 1:14:01SPEAKER_03: Like the way that uh they uh lean into their fandom today was by collecting uh all sorts of memorabilia.
- 1:14:10SPEAKER_03: Some people it's by creating fan art, some people it's by making remixes, and we've been able to celebrate all the different ways in which people lean into their love for Gloria and their love for this music.
- 1:14:25SPEAKER_03: And I feel like that wouldn't have existed uh decade years ago had it not been for fan podcasts where people can really let their sort of freak flag fly and their nerdiness that uh people we would hide for so long.
- 1:14:38SPEAKER_03: So um I'm so excited that we have this platform and that you all joined us today.
- 1:14:43SPEAKER_03: So if you out there have uh random memorabilia, I would we would love to see it.
- 1:14:48SPEAKER_03: We would love for you to share with us.
- 1:14:50SPEAKER_03: Maybe we'll do like a put in a story, like submit a photo.
- 1:14:53SPEAKER_03: Um follow us on Instagram, uh, Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, give us five stars, email us at let it loosepod at gmail.com, leave us leave us a voicemail on Speakpipe, and let's keep the conversation going.
- 1:15:07SPEAKER_03: And we'll see you next week.
