- 0:14Speaker 2: This is the Best of Stugatz & Company live on
- 0:17Speaker 2: Fox Sports Radio.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Show number five today. And Israel Gutierrez is back from
- 0:26Speaker 1: a long weekend. How was it, Izzy?
- 0:30Speaker 3: Very relaxing, Stu. Very relaxing.
- 0:33Speaker 4: If I'm going to start a podcast called Where Izzy,
- 0:35Speaker 4: I have to disappear for a while.
- 0:37Speaker 3: And so we missed you very much. I missed you
- 0:42Speaker 3: very much.
- 0:43Speaker 4: Thank you, man.
- 0:44Speaker 5: Yes.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Taylor and Mikey, they wanted to be here for radio.
- 0:50Speaker 1: I have told them that radio is no longer their responsibility.
- 0:53Speaker 1: That this is a burden I have to carry after
- 0:56Speaker 1: we do three or four shows every single day. And
- 0:59Speaker 1: I have told the audience that I, you know, crawl
- 1:01Speaker 1: through a river of podcasts just to get to them.
- 1:04Speaker 1: And I would appreciate it if they would call in
- 1:06Speaker 1: 877-99 on Fox for the entire two hours. Say hello
- 1:11Speaker 1: to Izzy. Say hi to me. Talk about whatever the
- 1:13Speaker 1: hell you want to talk about. I will stop whatever
- 1:15Speaker 1: it is I'm doing to take those phone calls. But Izzy,
- 1:19Speaker 1: we did miss you.
- 1:20Speaker 3: They wanted to be here for the entire show today,
- 1:22Speaker 3: and I thought that was a nice touch.
- 1:25Speaker 4: You guys are the best, but I have a question
- 1:26Speaker 4: for Dan Beyer. Dan, are you there?
- 1:28Speaker 3: Yeah, you can't see him, though. His computer's not working.
- 1:30Speaker 6: I am here, Izzy.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Nothing's changed, by the way. I mean, you're back from
- 1:33Speaker 1: a long weekend, but everything's the same. That's the same
- 1:35Speaker 1: sandwich that was sitting there the last time you were here.
- 1:38Speaker 4: Well, the smell is definitely the same. I don't know
- 1:42Speaker 4: if I just noticed this or what, but Dan, you
- 1:45Speaker 4: say your name at the end of the update. Is
- 1:48Speaker 4: that just a you thing? Is that a Fox thing?
- 1:51Speaker 4: Or is that an every update person thing? Because I
- 1:54Speaker 4: seem to remember other update people saying their name at
- 1:56Speaker 4: the beginning of the update.
- 1:57Speaker 7: No, that has never happened. It's always at the end.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Interesting.
- 2:01Speaker 4: Yes, because we have a nugget that I've never paid
- 2:03Speaker 4: attention to. But I guess after being away for a
- 2:06Speaker 4: long weekend, it's just something that popped in my head.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Thank you for that, Dan.
- 2:10Speaker 7: It's good to see your midseason form criticizing me again.
- 2:13Speaker 3: That's something that never changed.
- 2:15Speaker 4: It's not a critique. I was just questioning.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Dan Byer not happy that Izzy is back.
- 2:21Speaker 4: I spent my entire time away stewing because I have
- 2:25Speaker 4: never really won the Mount Rushmore Monday.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Do you want to do a Mount Rushmore today? Try
- 2:30Speaker 3: to redeem yourself?
- 2:31Speaker 4: No, not if Dan's here, no.
- 2:33Speaker 6: Why?
- 2:33Speaker 3: Because you know you won't win?
- 2:34Speaker 4: Of course.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Yeah, tell her.
- 2:35Speaker 8: Do not give Stu Gatz any idea what the name
- 2:38Speaker 8: stewing right now, because we are in podcast creation mode.
- 2:42Speaker 8: I don't need another podcast called stewing.
- 2:45Speaker 3: I'm thinking about it. You read my mind. All right, guys,
- 2:49Speaker 3: my results are in.
- 2:50Speaker 4: We didn't do a Mount Rushmore, but Izzy is in
- 2:52Speaker 4: fourth right now. Get out of here.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Mute him. Mikey A., how happy are you to see Izzy?
- 3:00Speaker 1: I haven't seen his smile all day, and you're smiling now.
- 3:03Speaker 9: Well, that's mostly because I hate you right now, but
- 3:06Speaker 9: after five shows, it's good that we have Izzy here
- 3:09Speaker 9: with all the trainers he goes to.
- 3:10Speaker 8: He's going to have to do a lot of heavy lifting.
- 3:11Speaker 1: You're going to have to do a lot of heavy
- 3:13Speaker 1: lifting on this show today.
- 3:14Speaker 4: I've been doing chest three days a week.
- 3:16Speaker 10: Yes.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Izzy, the platform is yours today. So I don't know
- 3:21Speaker 1: where you want to start and what you want to
- 3:23Speaker 1: talk about and what takes you've been sitting on. I
- 3:27Speaker 1: know you, you know, you went to University of Florida.
- 3:29Speaker 1: They have a big game against Mississippi.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Yes.
- 3:32Speaker 1: But again, we will start wherever you want to start.
- 3:35Speaker 1: I feel like asking you about every basketball transaction that's
- 3:38Speaker 1: happened since the last time you were in here.
- 3:41Speaker 3: But where would you like to start?
- 3:42Speaker 4: Well, before I get to what I want to talk about,
- 3:44Speaker 4: does anybody want to talk about that Thursday night football
- 3:47Speaker 4: game yesterday? Is Michael Penix Jr. anything worth noting, or
- 3:51Speaker 4: should we just move on?
- 3:53Speaker 1: I think he's definitely worth noting. The Falcons look like
- 3:56Speaker 1: a different team.
- 3:57Speaker 3: They look like a good team.
- 3:58Speaker 1: We were making the joke that there are guys who
- 4:00Speaker 1: are starting in the NFL right now that would quit
- 4:02Speaker 1: their current situation just to be in that situation.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Quarterbacks. Yeah. So Penix looked good. He was good enough.
- 4:09Speaker 1: They're talented enough on offense where if they just have
- 4:11Speaker 1: a competent quarterback, and that's what he was last night,
- 4:14Speaker 1: and hopefully he'll get better. But if they have that,
- 4:17Speaker 1: then that offense is going to be very, very good.
- 4:19Speaker 3: Don't you agree?
- 4:20Speaker 4: I mean, I've said this for a long time. Well,
- 4:22Speaker 4: for as long as they've had these guys. But Drake London, B.
- 4:25Speaker 4: John Robinson, those guys. are so good, as long as
- 4:27Speaker 4: you give your quarterback a seemingly competent quarterback, any sort
- 4:30Speaker 4: of protection, you should be able to have one of
- 4:32Speaker 4: the better offenses in the league. That said, I didn't
- 4:35Speaker 4: watch much of it. I think it was at 10-7,
- 4:39Speaker 4: where my internet was busted yesterday, and I was watching
- 4:42Speaker 4: TV off of... you know, how you use your phone
- 4:45Speaker 4: for a hotspot or whatever, and it was just not
- 4:48Speaker 4: that fluid, so I just decided to watch something else.
- 4:50Speaker 4: But when I saw the final score after my Wi-Fi
- 4:52Speaker 4: came back on, I was shocked.
- 4:53Speaker 5: Yes.
- 4:54Speaker 4: And I just don't understand Jordan Love, LeFleur, and that
- 4:57Speaker 4: whole Packers team.
- 4:58Speaker 3: I thought they were supposed.
- 4:59Speaker 8: To be good.
- 5:00Speaker 5: Yes.
- 5:00Speaker 3: LeFleur is overrated.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Jordan Love is probably overrated. I'm tired of hearing about
- 5:04Speaker 1: them headed into every single season, and yet they do.
- 5:07Speaker 3: That last night.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Like, enough of LeFleur. And enough of Jordan Love. It's
- 5:12Speaker 1: just that Packer team is not very good. And for
- 5:14Speaker 1: LeFleur to be so confused and can't figure out as
- 5:18Speaker 1: to what happened last night.
- 5:19Speaker 3: That's not what you want to hear from your head
- 5:20Speaker 3: coach after the game. Yeah, Mikey.
- 5:23Speaker 9: I'm just saying, if the Jets could pick up a
- 5:25Speaker 9: fourth and one, the Packers are 0-3. That's the story.
- 5:29Speaker 10: I know.
- 5:30Speaker 9: Bajon Robinson is the fireworks, but the story... Packers are
- 5:34Speaker 9: really freaking bad.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Yeah, but I have gotten over that jet loss until
- 5:38Speaker 1: I watched the game last night.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Did you have the same reaction? Exactly. I was like, no,
- 5:42Speaker 3: now this makes me feel worse.
- 5:44Speaker 4: You guys should absolutely be 2-0. I don't understand how
- 5:47Speaker 4: they lost that game. I flipped that game and all
- 5:50Speaker 4: of a sudden they're in overtime and they're losing that one.
- 5:52Speaker 4: I do have one more NFL note before I get
- 5:55Speaker 4: to everything that I really want to talk about. I
- 5:57Speaker 4: just want to plant my flag here. Everybody's down on
- 6:00Speaker 4: Justin Herbert, right?
- 6:01Speaker 3: That's kind of the going... you know, opinion. Taylor's kind
- 6:05Speaker 3: of the president.
- 6:06Speaker 8: We are leading the charge.
- 6:07Speaker 1: I would say everyone, but Phil Sims who joined us
- 6:10Speaker 1: on one of the five shows we did today.
- 6:12Speaker 3: And he loves Justin Herbert.
- 6:14Speaker 8: Is he Stugat said he wouldn't be surprised if Madison
- 6:17Speaker 8: beer called off the engagement.
- 6:19Speaker 3: I didn't say that.
- 6:21Speaker 8: You didn't observations.
- 6:23Speaker 6: They're yours.
- 6:24Speaker 4: I don't know who to put this on, whether it's
- 6:27Speaker 4: Mike McDaniel, whether it's just as offensive line or, I
- 6:30Speaker 4: don't know. Just the fact that they don't have the
- 6:32Speaker 4: right skill position players. But I'm telling you, he has
- 6:36Speaker 4: not lost it. Some people might say he never had it,
- 6:39Speaker 4: but he has not lost it. I still think he
- 6:41Speaker 4: is actually very, very good. And I mean, I don't
- 6:45Speaker 4: know who it was, but somebody went through all of
- 6:48Speaker 4: his skill position players drops. You know, you have that
- 6:50Speaker 4: one famous one where somebody came and defended his own
- 6:53Speaker 4: receivers play and knocked that one down. And it was
- 6:55Speaker 4: just there are so many things going wrong with that
- 6:58Speaker 4: team right now, it feels like. that they're all just
- 7:00Speaker 4: taking it out on Justin Herbert, I still have faith
- 7:02Speaker 4: in that man.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Phil Simms said that, you know, if you lined up
- 7:06Speaker 1: all the quarterbacks, essentially, many teams would have Justin Herbert.
- 7:11Speaker 3: Like they would die to have him right.
- 7:13Speaker 1: He would be in their top five quarterbacks that they
- 7:15Speaker 1: would want to be the quarterback of their team. But
- 7:17Speaker 1: you have to win at some point, don't you? Like
- 7:19Speaker 1: if you're that talented, I understand the talent. We all
- 7:21Speaker 1: see it. We could all see it in spurts. But
- 7:24Speaker 1: eventually you have to be a guy that's going to
- 7:25Speaker 1: help your team win.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Right. Yeah, I agreed.
- 7:27Speaker 4: And I think, you know, at some point, everything has
- 7:30Speaker 4: got to come together for him for that to happen.
- 7:32Speaker 4: And normally you've got these great, great quarterbacks that can
- 7:35Speaker 4: lift their teams through anything. I'm just saying it feels
- 7:37Speaker 4: like things internally are working against Justin Herbert, at least
- 7:41Speaker 4: so far this season.
- 7:42Speaker 8: One of the quarterbacks you wouldn't take or you would
- 7:45Speaker 8: take over Justin Herbert, Stu, Josh Allen, who the Chargers
- 7:48Speaker 8: play this week. So it's not getting any easier for
- 7:51Speaker 8: the Chargers.
- 7:51Speaker 10: Right.
- 7:52Speaker 1: A must win game. And you have to face Josh Allen,
- 7:54Speaker 1: who's 2-0 and playing better. than any quarterback in the
- 7:57Speaker 1: NFL right now.
- 7:58Speaker 4: It's a matchup of quarterbacks with celebrity.
- 8:00Speaker 8: Wives, right?
- 8:00Speaker 3: Yes. But Justin Herbert's, you know, his should leave him.
- 8:08Speaker 3: That was Taylor. I didn't say that. I'm just telling
- 8:10Speaker 3: you what Taylor told me to say.
- 8:12Speaker 8: And just to be clear, I think no disrespect to
- 8:16Speaker 8: Madison Beer. Haley Steinfeld's in a league of her own
- 8:20Speaker 8: in terms of celebrity.
- 8:21Speaker 4: Oh, okay.
- 8:22Speaker 3: You did the whole no disrespect.
- 8:24Speaker 1: No disrespect, but I'm going to disrespect you in two seconds.
- 8:27Speaker 8: Madison Beer, probably like a B minus celebrity.
- 8:31Speaker 3: What is she known for?
- 8:31Speaker 2: Hmm.
- 8:33Speaker 4: Good question. So maybe a C minus.
- 8:37Speaker 3: Put it on the poll, Taylor. Do you know what
- 8:39Speaker 3: Madison Beer is known for?
- 8:41Speaker 8: Can you ask what somebody's famous for? And then there'd
- 8:44Speaker 8: be a four second pause where nobody has an answer.
- 8:48Speaker 4: So you're definitely right on that. Josh Salad has the
- 8:51Speaker 4: more famous wife.
- 8:52Speaker 3: All right.
- 8:53Speaker 4: So I'm going to stick to the NFL here because
- 8:55Speaker 4: I'm curious.
- 8:56Speaker 3: I mean, look at this guy. He comes back from
- 8:58Speaker 3: a long weekend. All of a sudden he wants to
- 8:59Speaker 3: talk a little football. We're good.
- 9:01Speaker 4: It's been multiple weeks of football since I left. And
- 9:05Speaker 4: one of the things that has just been kind of
- 9:06Speaker 4: painful for me is I've actually watched these Dolphins games.
- 9:10Speaker 4: And it's just awful. And I'm not even going to
- 9:13Speaker 4: talk about what they're doing this year. But I'm wondering
- 9:16Speaker 4: if Dolphins fans are nervous about the fact that they're tanking.
- 9:22Speaker 3: For a quarterback.
- 9:23Speaker 4: I mean, you know, some people would say, Jim, maybe
- 9:25Speaker 4: Jeremiah Smith, nobody's tanking for a wide receiver, so it's
- 9:27Speaker 4: got to be a quarterback, right?
- 9:28Speaker 2: Yes.
- 9:29Speaker 4: Because are they going to get it right? Are they
- 9:33Speaker 4: going to get it right? Is it, Mikey, help me
- 9:34Speaker 4: out here, is it Arch Manning above all? Because I
- 9:38Speaker 4: don't really see that, especially after, you know, last season
- 9:41Speaker 4: and the first part of this season.
- 9:43Speaker 6: Right.
- 9:43Speaker 4: Is it, you know, Moore and Dante Moore in Oregon?
- 9:47Speaker 4: Because I don't love him as a franchise changer anymore.
- 9:51Speaker 3: Is it Ole Miss quarterback, Trinidad Chambliss?
- 9:55Speaker 10: Right.
- 9:56Speaker 4: Because he is probably the best, I don't know, total
- 9:59Speaker 4: package dual. threat type of guy, but I see a
- 10:01Speaker 4: lot of flaws in his game, and who knows exactly
- 10:03Speaker 4: how he's going to translate. In fact, hang on, I'm
- 10:07Speaker 4: going to need his name for a second. Is it Taylor,
- 10:09Speaker 4: Camario Taylor?
- 10:10Speaker 3: Camario Taylor.
- 10:11Speaker 4: Camario Taylor at Mississippi State.
- 10:12Speaker 3: Future Kane, yeah.
- 10:13Speaker 4: But he's not draft eligible this year, so it just
- 10:16Speaker 4: makes you wonder, like, Are the Dolphins going to tank
- 10:19Speaker 4: and just bomb with this quarterback pick? Is it going
- 10:22Speaker 4: to be another situation where it's just like, great, we
- 10:25Speaker 4: were terrible for another year, and we've got nothing out
- 10:28Speaker 4: of it? Because Arch Manning is probably where your fingers
- 10:31Speaker 4: are crossed saying, okay, he is the guy who will
- 10:33Speaker 4: most likely turn out just based on his last name
- 10:36Speaker 4: and the odds of the other Mannings that have been
- 10:38Speaker 4: in the NFL?
- 10:38Speaker 6: Yes.
- 10:39Speaker 4: But, man, that is certainly not a sure thing. It's
- 10:41Speaker 4: not like tanking in the NBA for LeBron James or
- 10:44Speaker 4: Tim Duncan. Like, this is a huge question mark.
- 10:47Speaker 6: Agreed.
- 10:48Speaker 9: Arch Manning is a really good quarterback. He's a really,
- 10:51Speaker 9: really good quarterback, but he's number one status is based
- 10:54Speaker 9: on the name on the back of his Jersey. So
- 10:57Speaker 9: if you were to take Trinidad Chambliss and you have
- 10:59Speaker 9: him take his Jersey off, you put Arch Manning's Jersey
- 11:01Speaker 9: on Trinidad Chambliss is going first.
- 11:04Speaker 4: That's what's going to happen.
- 11:05Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 11:06Speaker 4: I mean, I don't, again, I don't, I don't know
- 11:07Speaker 4: what it is about Dante more that I don't love.
- 11:09Speaker 4: Maybe it's just his frame. Maybe it's just the fact
- 11:13Speaker 4: that he hasn't won the bigger games. I'm not sure.
- 11:16Speaker 4: I'm not convinced that any Oregon quarterback really But yeah,
- 11:20Speaker 4: it's just, it makes me very, very nervous. And I'll
- 11:23Speaker 4: live with Arch Manning just for the excitement of it.
- 11:26Speaker 3: It's like, hey, we got a Manning. The name, yes.
- 11:29Speaker 4: But I'll be absolutely terrified if he goes on to have,
- 11:33Speaker 4: I don't know, a three-loss season, gets hit a bunch
- 11:35Speaker 4: like he did last week against an inferior opponent, and
- 11:38Speaker 4: then comes into the league with all these expectations.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Man, I just don't know.
- 11:42Speaker 8: Izzy, you mentioned a bunch of quarterbacks that the Dolphins
- 11:45Speaker 8: could target in the draft. One quarterback you didn't mention.
- 11:49Speaker 8: What if I told you if you wanted a quarterback
- 11:52Speaker 8: on the Miami Dolphins, you might not even have to
- 11:55Speaker 8: leave the 305 because right in Hard Rock Stadium, the
- 11:59Speaker 8: Miami Hurricanes, Darian Mensah has gone from Tulane to Duke
- 12:04Speaker 8: to Miami, and every year he looks like a better
- 12:08Speaker 8: and better quarterback.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Yeah, but I think to Izzy's point, you have no
- 12:11Speaker 1: idea if it's going to translate to the NFL, and
- 12:13Speaker 1: this is the year the Dolphins have decided to tank,
- 12:16Speaker 1: and they're doing it the right way.
- 12:17Speaker 3: They're not even trying to win games. It doesn't feel like.
- 12:19Speaker 3: And so they might have one win. They might have two.
- 12:21Speaker 3: They might have no wins.
- 12:22Speaker 12: Who knows?
- 12:23Speaker 3: But Izzy doesn't feel like.
- 12:24Speaker 1: There's a quarterback that's such a surefire thing that this
- 12:27Speaker 1: is the right season to tank, you know?
- 12:29Speaker 4: Izzy, you.
- 12:31Speaker 9: you watch all these dolphins games so let me ask
- 12:34Speaker 9: you the question is malik willis the problem like are
- 12:37Speaker 9: you going to get a quarterback and all of a
- 12:38Speaker 9: sudden you're like oh we're good now or is that
- 12:41Speaker 9: just a really bad team with a quarterback who we
- 12:44Speaker 9: have no idea how good he can be because that team.
- 12:46Speaker 1: I feel like malik is doing exactly what they signed
- 12:48Speaker 1: them for losing football games he's the mvp I don't.
- 12:52Speaker 4: Love Malik Willis.
- 12:53Speaker 3: Like, he's OK.
- 12:54Speaker 4: He doesn't make great decisions. He's not like extremely athletic or,
- 12:58Speaker 4: you know, great out of the pocket. I think he
- 13:00Speaker 4: probably thinks he's better because sometimes he makes some choices
- 13:03Speaker 4: to roll out where I'm just like, no, no, this
- 13:05Speaker 4: play is over. What are you doing? But Darian Mensah
- 13:08Speaker 4: was on my list. And that's just one of those
- 13:10Speaker 4: where is the hometown team really going to do that? Like,
- 13:13Speaker 4: are they going to this whole, you know, restructuring of
- 13:16Speaker 4: the of the front office, of the coaching staff?
- 13:19Speaker 3: And, you know, being terrible.
- 13:20Speaker 4: For a full year just to fall in love with
- 13:22Speaker 4: the local guy where the rest of the country is
- 13:24Speaker 4: going to be like, ha, these idiots.
- 13:26Speaker 3: Izzy, earlier I.
- 13:27Speaker 8: Was trying to make the point that the Dolphins might
- 13:29Speaker 8: be getting the Cam Cameron season where. If Jeff Halfley
- 13:33Speaker 8: goes 0-17, Stu Gatz was making the argument that Jeff
- 13:36Speaker 8: Halfley's trying to go 0-17. Coach of the year, if
- 13:39Speaker 8: he does it, yes. No head coach is trying to
- 13:41Speaker 8: go 0-17. And I get that this is a rebuild
- 13:43Speaker 8: project for the Miami Dolphins, but I don't know how
- 13:47Speaker 8: you can convince a fan base you have the right
- 13:49Speaker 8: coach if he can't even stumble into a win and
- 13:52Speaker 8: he goes 0-17.
- 13:54Speaker 4: I don't think I got to tell you guys this.
- 13:55Speaker 4: I was still here when practices were starting, but... This
- 14:00Speaker 4: is when I recognize that I don't know if I
- 14:02Speaker 4: like the head coach either, because literally the first day
- 14:06Speaker 4: of practice and I don't know which starter it was
- 14:08Speaker 4: because the person who told me this wouldn't tell me
- 14:10Speaker 4: which starter it was.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Right.
- 14:11Speaker 4: But there was a projected starter on the team that
- 14:13Speaker 4: got hurt the first day of practice. Nothing long term,
- 14:16Speaker 4: nothing serious, but got hurt the first day of practice
- 14:18Speaker 4: while they were practicing practice.
- 14:21Speaker 3: Field goal blocks.
- 14:23Speaker 4: What are you doing on the first day of practice
- 14:25Speaker 4: using your projected starters to attempt to block field goals,
- 14:30Speaker 4: which happens how often? I mean, I know it happened
- 14:31Speaker 4: last night, I think, but how often?
- 14:33Speaker 3: Yeah, it's ridiculous. What you're trying to do is go 0-17.
- 14:35Speaker 4: Apparently, you're trying to get your whole starting lineup injured.
- 14:40Speaker 3: All right, listeners, listen to me.
- 14:42Speaker 1: I don't want to yell at you. I am telling you,
- 14:43Speaker 1: we have done three shows, four shows already, okay? God
- 14:46Speaker 1: bless football, college football, Woods to Gods and Bear. I
- 14:49Speaker 1: think with Stugatz and Hawk, Stugatz and company, Mikey A
- 14:52Speaker 1: and I had an argument. He doesn't believe that we
- 14:55Speaker 1: get phone calls. He doesn't think we can get phone
- 14:56Speaker 1: calls because we're not on Sirius XM. And I still
- 14:59Speaker 1: believe in AM radio. And so I want phone calls
- 15:03Speaker 1: for the next two hours.
- 15:04Speaker 3: That's all I want to do.
- 15:05Speaker 1: I want to talk to Izzy, and we want to
- 15:06Speaker 1: talk to you. 877-99 on Fox, and I don't care
- 15:10Speaker 1: what it is you want to talk about.
- 15:12Speaker 3: 877-99 on Fox.
- 15:14Speaker 1: That is 877-99 on Fox.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Gatz and
- 15:19Speaker 2: Company live weekdays at 3 p.m. Eastern, 12 p.m. Pacific
- 15:24Speaker 2: on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
- 15:29Speaker 1: 877-99 on Fox. Israel Gutierrez is back. He's made us
- 15:33Speaker 1: all happy. I could sit there and watch you and
- 15:37Speaker 1: Taylor do my radio show for the rest of time.
- 15:42Speaker 1: We'll get to the calls here in just a second.
- 15:44Speaker 1: But Izzy, while you were away on your long weekend here,
- 15:48Speaker 1: Taylor fell apart. A couple of different times, as did I,
- 15:52Speaker 1: by the way, because we missed you that much, as
- 15:54Speaker 1: did Mikey.
- 15:55Speaker 3: We all missed you.
- 15:57Speaker 1: But Taylor, you want to set these up? Because I
- 15:59Speaker 1: went into the room before and I said, hey, were
- 16:02Speaker 1: there any flubs you can remember that Taylor made? Not me,
- 16:05Speaker 1: just Taylor. since the last time Izzy was here, and
- 16:07Speaker 1: there were two that stood out to Taylor.
- 16:10Speaker 8: Yeah, so Izzy, we did a celebrity guest picker parlay,
- 16:15Speaker 8: plus 277, and Steve Spurrier was our celebrity guest picker parlay.
- 16:21Speaker 3: It hit.
- 16:21Speaker 8: And it hit. It hit, courtesy of our friends over
- 16:24Speaker 8: at FanDuel. And as I was talking about it, I
- 16:28Speaker 8: was trying to say the old ball coach, Steve Spurrier,
- 16:32Speaker 8: And this is what came out instead. To get the
- 16:34Speaker 8: all boat. Hold the phone.
- 16:42Speaker 3: You had Steve Sperrier on?
- 16:43Speaker 6: Yes.
- 16:44Speaker 3: Well, no, he did a, you know, celebrity parlay for us.
- 16:47Speaker 8: He just made four picks for us.
- 16:49Speaker 4: Also, I was going to say, because if he was on,
- 16:52Speaker 4: even if you did get the old ball coach out,
- 16:54Speaker 4: he would say, no, no, it's the head ball coach.
- 16:58Speaker 4: It's not the old ball coach, which is what people
- 16:59Speaker 4: turn to after a while, but it's the head ball coach.
- 17:02Speaker 1: He doesn't like to be called old. How would he
- 17:04Speaker 1: respond to this, though?
- 17:05Speaker 8: To get the old bull. The old bull.
- 17:09Speaker 3: It sounded like you were going to say the old
- 17:11Speaker 3: bull or the old bulk.
- 17:14Speaker 8: That was me hearing it halfway through, Izzy, and going...
- 17:18Speaker 8: Halfway through, you could hear in my head the wheels
- 17:22Speaker 8: turning saying, this is not going well.
- 17:25Speaker 3: One more time.
- 17:27Speaker 8: To get the all bowl. The all bowl. The all
- 17:29Speaker 8: bowl team.
- 17:34Speaker 3: All right, the second one, I believe it was Express Pros.
- 17:36Speaker 4: Is that right, Taylor?
- 17:37Speaker 9: No.
- 17:38Speaker 4: That's a tough one, man.
- 17:39Speaker 8: No, it was the Weeble.
- 17:42Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, Weeble.
- 17:43Speaker 8: Get your financial portfolio game ready is what I was
- 17:46Speaker 8: supposed to say. Izzy was also a day that we
- 17:49Speaker 8: were supposed to have Sal Licata, and Sal was having
- 17:52Speaker 8: technical issues.
- 17:53Speaker 10: Yes.
- 17:53Speaker 8: So then I had to talk more in the episode.
- 17:55Speaker 10: Right.
- 17:56Speaker 8: And as I got to the read, again, I'm just
- 17:58Speaker 8: running on E here, and this is the Weeble read.
- 18:02Speaker 3: It's time to.
- 18:03Speaker 8: Get your point... It's time to get your... Get.
- 18:09Speaker 4: Your punt.
- 18:11Speaker 3: I'm always there for you.
- 18:13Speaker 1: He is so tired. I'm so tired. He can't speak.
- 18:17Speaker 1: I can't speak. And I'm just laughing at him.
- 18:19Speaker 8: It's time to get your punt. It's time to get your....
- 18:25Speaker 4: I was thinking about getting a pint of beer.
- 18:27Speaker 3: It is tough.
- 18:27Speaker 4: It is like you really have to have the lips
- 18:30Speaker 4: ready for get your portfolio game ready. It's just, you
- 18:33Speaker 4: can't just be lazy with the mouth at that point.
- 18:35Speaker 3: Right, but how about the old ball coach? The old ball.
- 18:38Speaker 3: Should just roll right out of the tongue, no?
- 18:42Speaker 8: To get the old ball. It hurts.
- 18:46Speaker 3: It's like I'm being punched.
- 18:48Speaker 4: I'm sorry to do that to you, Taylor. I will
- 18:50Speaker 4: never leave you again. That's false.
- 18:51Speaker 3: That's false. Please don't.
- 18:58Speaker 6: Oh, gosh.
- 19:00Speaker 3: Taylor, I'm sorry I did that to you. You're tired.
- 19:03Speaker 3: I'm tired. Mikey A is tired. Mikey is questioning whether
- 19:06Speaker 3: or not.
- 19:07Speaker 1: You're not sorry at all. All right. So let's move
- 19:11Speaker 1: on here. Israel, how is softball going with Taylor?
- 19:17Speaker 4: You should know that my career batting average remains at
- 19:20Speaker 4: triple zeros.
- 19:20Speaker 6: Right.
- 19:21Speaker 4: But that's because I haven't played softball since. What I've
- 19:24Speaker 4: only realized recently, because I don't know, I guess Anthony
- 19:28Speaker 4: doesn't share as much information with me as he should.
- 19:30Speaker 4: is how many of my folks are on this team. Like,
- 19:32Speaker 4: he's got this new team, and instead of me, he
- 19:35Speaker 4: brought in a bunch of all-stars.
- 19:36Speaker 3: Yes, he brought your friends in who are good.
- 19:39Speaker 4: Guys who are in our football league still. Taylor no
- 19:41Speaker 4: longer in that league. And yeah, they're doing great. And apparently,
- 19:45Speaker 4: I think Taylor's line to me was, when Ian and
- 19:48Speaker 4: myself are the two worst hitters on a softball team
- 19:50Speaker 4: you got a great team and i'm just like wow
- 19:53Speaker 4: i'm so glad everybody misses me over there is if
- 19:55Speaker 4: it makes.
- 19:55Speaker 8: You feel better we have your jersey hanging up in the.
- 19:58Speaker 4: No you don't no you don't because that would make
- 20:00Speaker 4: me feel way worse you were lying i'm so proud
- 20:03Speaker 4: of you.
- 20:05Speaker 3: Because they'll never know he's never going back to that
- 20:07Speaker 3: diamond again no.
- 20:08Speaker 4: And not only that i think you guys have actual
- 20:10Speaker 4: like softball uniform or at least jerseys now right.
- 20:13Speaker 8: Yeah we've upgraded major and we've also done a pool
- 20:16Speaker 8: that we have a group chat where they were like
- 20:18Speaker 8: everybody if you want to put in ten dollars and
- 20:20Speaker 8: whoever has the highest on base percentage at the end
- 20:23Speaker 8: of the season we'll get the money in the pool
- 20:26Speaker 8: me and ian looked at each other and go we
- 20:27Speaker 8: can't hit so we're definitely not entering.
- 20:29Speaker 4: This pool Is there a minimum at bats there? Because
- 20:32Speaker 4: I can come in as a free agent one week
- 20:35Speaker 4: and just take a walk and then just quit for
- 20:37Speaker 4: the rest of the game. And my on-base percentage is
- 20:39Speaker 4: a thousand.
- 20:40Speaker 8: This is probably like getting into like the rookie of
- 20:42Speaker 8: the year or the MVP conversation where it's like, you
- 20:45Speaker 8: need a minimum 80 games to qualify.
- 20:48Speaker 3: No, but Izzy needs one. He needs one at bat
- 20:50Speaker 3: and the perfect season for you. I kind of do
- 20:52Speaker 3: want to come in and just get a hit.
- 20:53Speaker 4: Like just come in for one game and just be like, Hey,
- 20:56Speaker 4: Do they have DH?
- 20:57Speaker 3: Let me catch whatever. Let me get one hit.
- 20:59Speaker 4: That's just so I can say that I've gotten a
- 21:00Speaker 4: hit in my career.
- 21:01Speaker 3: Just a hit because you're 0 for your lifetime. How
- 21:03Speaker 3: many games do you think that would take? Just the one, Mikey.
- 21:05Speaker 6: Shut up.
- 21:06Speaker 1: He's 0 for a lifetime, and yet he thinks he
- 21:08Speaker 1: would come back in one game.
- 21:10Speaker 3: Suddenly he's Babe Ruth.
- 21:11Speaker 4: I would actually prepare as opposed to just showing up
- 21:14Speaker 4: completely cold. Let's go out to Connor, who's in Syracuse today.
- 21:19Speaker 3: Connor, go ahead. You're on Fox Sports Radio.
- 21:20Speaker 6: All right, guys. I really like your show.
- 21:23Speaker 8: It's really good.
- 21:24Speaker 3: Thank you. Appreciate it.
- 21:27Speaker 10: There was a call earlier that said that Patrick Mahomes
- 21:30Speaker 10: is better than Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, but Patrick
- 21:33Speaker 10: Mahomes also has had a better defense, a better coaching staff,
- 21:37Speaker 10: and a better front office than Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson.
- 21:40Speaker 6: Have ever had.
- 21:43Speaker 4: I mean, Lamar Jackson had John Horbaugh. I mean, which,
- 21:46Speaker 4: you know, to his credit, that was probably a detriment
- 21:49Speaker 4: to him. Look, I think Patrick Mahomes is... gets overrated
- 21:55Speaker 4: because when he was at his best he was absolutely
- 21:57Speaker 4: spectacular but has not been especially good since about 2022
- 22:00Speaker 4: right we've all just been granting him top of the
- 22:04Speaker 4: league status he has all the ability in the world
- 22:06Speaker 4: i would you know in terms of football iq i
- 22:08Speaker 4: don't know if there's a better uh player in the
- 22:10Speaker 4: league but he has not been great great like top
- 22:12Speaker 4: of the league great since about 2022 so yeah i
- 22:15Speaker 4: think would i rather have josh allen or patrick mahomes
- 22:18Speaker 4: this year i probably fast forward to the end of
- 22:20Speaker 4: the year and i'll tell you the answer to that
- 22:21Speaker 4: which is cheating But I do think that, you know,
- 22:25Speaker 4: appeared out.
- 22:28Speaker 3: Yeah, Mikey.
- 22:31Speaker 9: Forgive me if I'm wrong here, but Baltimore Ravens and
- 22:33Speaker 9: defense kind of go hand in hand. I believe they
- 22:36Speaker 9: had the top scoring defense in 23, the third top
- 22:40Speaker 9: scoring defense in 22, the second top scoring defense in 2020.
- 22:45Speaker 9: When did Lamar Jackson not have a defense?
- 22:48Speaker 10: Right.
- 22:48Speaker 3: Fair.
- 22:49Speaker 8: But to that caller's point, I do think a lot
- 22:51Speaker 8: of being a quarterback in the NFL is situational. Like
- 22:54Speaker 8: If Josh Allen had the benefit of having Andy Reid,
- 22:57Speaker 8: Tyreek Hill, and Travis Kelsey, now Dalton Kincaid is turning
- 23:01Speaker 8: into something, maybe Travis Kelsey light. But if you gave
- 23:05Speaker 8: Josh Allen those weapons, that's why it's unfair to compare
- 23:08Speaker 8: quarterback situations sometimes because it's apples to oranges.
- 23:12Speaker 1: You could also say those last two Super Bowl victories
- 23:15Speaker 1: for Mahomes.
- 23:15Speaker 3: I mean, the defense was really.
- 23:17Speaker 4: It was spags.
- 23:18Speaker 3: It was that credit pie.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Well, yeah, the defense helped them win two additional titles.
- 23:22Speaker 1: I mean, that's a big deal. I think that's what
- 23:24Speaker 1: the callers say. I mean, these other quarterbacks don't have
- 23:26Speaker 1: some of the things that Patrick Mahomes has had early
- 23:29Speaker 1: on in his career.
- 23:29Speaker 3: That's fair, right?
- 23:30Speaker 6: It is.
- 23:31Speaker 2: It is.
- 23:31Speaker 4: And, you know, again, he still won without Tyree kill,
- 23:34Speaker 4: but he still had all those other advantages.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Right.
- 23:36Speaker 3: He had the defense.
- 23:37Speaker 2: Yes.
- 23:37Speaker 8: And also, don't forget the time that he had the
- 23:39Speaker 8: field advantage to that first one against The Eagles, Ed
- 23:42Speaker 8: Mangum screwed everybody.
- 23:44Speaker 3: Yes. Patrick Mahomes is back, right?
- 23:46Speaker 7: Is he?
- 23:46Speaker 3: I mean, he's back. It seems like it.
- 23:48Speaker 4: I mean, he's going to have another great week against
- 23:50Speaker 4: the Dolphins this week. And so probably that conversation will
- 23:53Speaker 4: continue until he decides to have a stinker.
- 23:55Speaker 1: Taylor, put it on the poll. If Jeff Halfley and
- 23:57Speaker 1: the Dolphins go 0-17, should he win coach of the year?
- 24:01Speaker 8: Or get fired.
- 24:04Speaker 3: The rare coach of the year that gets fired. How
- 24:06Speaker 3: about that?
- 24:07Speaker 4: Two extremes with Halfway.
- 24:09Speaker 3: Let's go to Ron, who's in California today. Ron, go ahead.
- 24:13Speaker 3: You're on Fox Sports Radio.
- 24:17Speaker 6: Ron?
- 24:20Speaker 12: Can you hear me?
- 24:21Speaker 3: Yes, we can hear you, Ron.
- 24:22Speaker 12: Hello?
- 24:23Speaker 4: Okay.
- 24:25Speaker 12: Yeah, man, I just want to say happy Friday. NFL
- 24:28Speaker 12: is back, baby. But I want to talk about my ratings.
- 24:33Speaker 6: All right.
- 24:34Speaker 12: I do like the fact that we're 2-0, and, you know,
- 24:37Speaker 12: I'm happy with what I'm seeing on the field, you know,
- 24:40Speaker 12: watching Jim T. March up the field and Kirk Cousins
- 24:43Speaker 12: putting in work. But, you know, we still got a
- 24:45Speaker 12: long road ahead of us, you know, because after the Saints, hey,
- 24:48Speaker 12: it's showtime. You know, we got the Chiefs. You know,
- 24:51Speaker 12: we have the Patriots, the Bills, and then L.A. Jets
- 24:54Speaker 12: I'm pretty confident about. But right after that, we go
- 24:56Speaker 12: right back to working hard against San Francisco. So, you know,
- 25:01Speaker 12: I like what I see. But, hey, we still got
- 25:03Speaker 12: some work to do.
- 25:04Speaker 4: Still got some improvement.
- 25:05Speaker 12: You know, it's still early in the season. I like
- 25:07Speaker 12: what QBX is doing as a smart coach, you know,
- 25:10Speaker 12: for our offense.
- 25:11Speaker 5: Yes.
- 25:12Speaker 3: For you, are you underwater? I'm a truck.
- 25:17Speaker 12: Driver, so I'm in my truck.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Okay, respect. Respect to you. I'm sorry. I apologize to you,
- 25:24Speaker 3: and keep up the fine work, sir. My apologies.
- 25:26Speaker 4: I will say this about the Raiders. I think it
- 25:30Speaker 4: is great to see, you know, Kirk Cousins doing his thing.
- 25:32Speaker 4: It's kind of like the, so far, probably the, I
- 25:35Speaker 4: don't know, the most fun success story so far of
- 25:38Speaker 4: the early NFL season. I do really want to see
- 25:41Speaker 4: Fernando Mendoza, though.
- 25:43Speaker 3: I don't know if you've seen him.
- 25:44Speaker 4: Have you seen that his latest thing is he's given
- 25:46Speaker 4: financial advice?
- 25:47Speaker 5: Yes.
- 25:48Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 25:49Speaker 4: Like, we need more Fernando Mendozas.
- 25:51Speaker 3: In the world.
- 25:51Speaker 1: I love him, but you're not going to see him
- 25:53Speaker 1: as long as they're in playoff contention. You're not going
- 25:55Speaker 1: to see him. By the way, that caller just assumed
- 25:57Speaker 1: they're going to beat the Saints this weekend.
- 25:58Speaker 8: Stugatz, that's exactly what I was going to say. Because
- 26:01Speaker 8: he went right to the Chiefs and the Patriots. Mikey, Raiders,
- 26:05Speaker 8: Saints this weekend? I think this is a something has
- 26:08Speaker 8: to give game because the Raiders are coming in hot
- 26:10Speaker 8: and we got Tyler shuck on the other side.
- 26:12Speaker 3: It's also a who's who. I mean, I called it.
- 26:15Speaker 8: We're going to find out who's the fraud game.
- 26:17Speaker 7: Yes.
- 26:20Speaker 1: But he just blew right past the saints as if
- 26:22Speaker 1: it's a victory for the Raiders.
- 26:24Speaker 3: You're not going to see Mendoza.
- 26:25Speaker 1: I don't think as long as they're in contention and
- 26:28Speaker 1: Kirk cousins is playing well, and he.
- 26:29Speaker 3: Was very good last week.
- 26:31Speaker 4: It was okay.
- 26:31Speaker 1: In week one, He was very good last week. I
- 26:33Speaker 1: don't think you're going to see Mendoza.
- 26:35Speaker 3: That's fine with me.
- 26:35Speaker 4: We didn't see Patrick Mahomes his first season either. But, yeah,
- 26:40Speaker 4: going back to the Saints, is Olave going to make
- 26:43Speaker 4: the Guardian helmet cool? because that guy's having a heck
- 26:47Speaker 4: of a start to this year, and it still looks crazy.
- 26:49Speaker 3: It still looks crazy to me.
- 26:52Speaker 8: I'm trying to think what the situation would have to be,
- 26:54Speaker 8: but I'm with Mikey on this one. Like, I get it.
- 26:57Speaker 8: The Guardian cap is, if it makes even a little
- 27:00Speaker 8: bit safer, I'm all for people wearing the Guardian cap.
- 27:02Speaker 3: I don't think we get it, and I don't think
- 27:04Speaker 3: you get it. It makes you safer by a lot.
- 27:07Speaker 8: By a lot. Let me see the numbers by a lot.
- 27:10Speaker 3: The data?
- 27:11Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 27:11Speaker 8: All of a sudden you're coming up with medical claims
- 27:13Speaker 8: over here with all your research and your data.
- 27:17Speaker 1: I'm just saying no one would dare look that ridiculous
- 27:20Speaker 1: on a football field if it didn't make them a
- 27:21Speaker 1: lot safer.
- 27:23Speaker 4: Speaking of injuries.
- 27:24Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 27:26Speaker 4: I know you guys talked about it. Caleb Williamson, remind
- 27:29Speaker 4: me what your guys' response was to his reaction to
- 27:34Speaker 4: his injury.
- 27:34Speaker 3: We'd rather have Jackson Dort.
- 27:37Speaker 8: I think our official show stance, Izzy, was we agree
- 27:41Speaker 8: that he got hurt, but you cannot take the cart
- 27:45Speaker 8: ride for a grade one hamstring strain.
- 27:47Speaker 3: Okay. All right.
- 27:49Speaker 4: So the part with him getting hurt, first of all,
- 27:52Speaker 4: the main reason I thought it was an Achilles injury
- 27:55Speaker 4: is because he looked back, right, as.
- 27:58Speaker 3: He's making the cut, right?
- 28:00Speaker 4: And so that's famously everybody thinks that they get kicked
- 28:02Speaker 4: when they have an Achilles injury.
- 28:03Speaker 3: So I was like, oh, no.
- 28:05Speaker 4: That's an Achilles. He must've looked back to see who
- 28:07Speaker 4: hit him. And it wasn't that.
- 28:09Speaker 3: And he wasn't touched, right?
- 28:10Speaker 7: Right.
- 28:10Speaker 4: Cause he wasn't touched. Now he was clearly to me anyway,
- 28:14Speaker 4: just ridiculously frustrated. Like at that moment, no matter what
- 28:18Speaker 4: the injury is, he knew he was going to miss time.
- 28:21Speaker 4: And for somebody who has all of these stakes, I mean,
- 28:23Speaker 4: probably MVP stakes, like career type of stakes, like bringing,
- 28:27Speaker 4: you know, the Chicago bears back into the elite of
- 28:29Speaker 4: the league. Like that's so frustrating. Like I held like a, whatever,
- 28:35Speaker 4: I don't know, who howls? I howled like.
- 28:37Speaker 3: Something who howls the other day.
- 28:38Speaker 4: When we got rained out from a flag football game
- 28:42Speaker 4: because I want to play as long as I can.
- 28:44Speaker 4: This guy got hurt and realized, oh no, this is
- 28:47Speaker 4: going to suck for me. Whether I'm out two weeks,
- 28:50Speaker 4: five weeks, whatever, this sucks. Oh, can everybody else hear
- 28:53Speaker 4: me yelling?
- 28:54Speaker 3: My bad.
- 28:55Speaker 4: You guys should have not been so quiet. But the
- 28:57Speaker 4: cart thing cracks me up. Because, Stu, when you play golf,
- 29:00Speaker 4: you walk in or you're in the cart?
- 29:02Speaker 3: In the cart.
- 29:02Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 29:02Speaker 11: Walking.
- 29:03Speaker 4: Everybody here would take a cart ride. to their car
- 29:08Speaker 4: in this parking lot if it got offered to them.
- 29:11Speaker 2: 100%.
- 29:11Speaker 4: Because why the heck not? And on top of it,
- 29:14Speaker 4: if you've got a hamstring injury, you probably just don't
- 29:18Speaker 4: want to be walking. Now, if people want to criticize
- 29:20Speaker 4: him for it looked like he was crying, the towel
- 29:22Speaker 4: was covering his face, whatever. What do you want him
- 29:24Speaker 4: to do? Point to his hamstring and be like, it's okay.
- 29:27Speaker 3: It's just this.
- 29:27Speaker 4: I'm okay. Like, whatever. Everybody's taking a cart. if they
- 29:31Speaker 4: wanted to. Jackson Dart not taking one was idiotic.
- 29:34Speaker 3: It was idiotic. You got a knee injury. Get on
- 29:36Speaker 3: the cart. Take a ride to the locker room.
- 29:37Speaker 4: Yeah, but he's a gamer.
- 29:38Speaker 3: I mean, please. doesn't play in games.
- 29:43Speaker 9: Izzy, he gave the fist pump like when guys have
- 29:47Speaker 9: to immobilize their neck because we're worried about them being paralyzed.
- 29:51Speaker 9: And he was like, and they give the thumbs up
- 29:53Speaker 9: just to let you know, hey, I can still feel
- 29:55Speaker 9: my limbs.
- 29:56Speaker 2: And he was like, I'm going to be.
- 29:58Speaker 8: Dude, he got the same.
- 30:00Speaker 3: Injury I get mowing the lawn.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I know, but Mikey, we need Izzy's opinion and
- 30:05Speaker 1: reasonable thoughts around here.
- 30:07Speaker 3: Otherwise, it's the three of us saying we'd rather have
- 30:09Speaker 3: Jackson Dort.
- 30:10Speaker 9: Mikey, nobody is happier Izzy is here than me living
- 30:14Speaker 9: in a world of Taylor and Stugatzes, okay?
- 30:17Speaker 4: Nobody is happier.
- 30:19Speaker 3: But at the same time, That was ridiculous.
- 30:22Speaker 4: But, Mikey, what would you have wanted him to do? Like,
- 30:25Speaker 4: do you want him to give, like, a half thumb
- 30:27Speaker 4: and just be like, oh, it's not that. He wants
- 30:28Speaker 4: him to walk off.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Walk off.
- 30:30Speaker 11: No.
- 30:31Speaker 4: Walk off. You want him to walk off. And that's
- 30:33Speaker 4: going to make you feel better about what? If you're
- 30:36Speaker 4: a Chicago Bears fan, if he's walking off, it's going
- 30:38Speaker 4: to make you feel better about what?
- 30:40Speaker 3: His toughness.
- 30:41Speaker 2: I mean.
- 30:42Speaker 9: There isn't a player in the NFL either on his
- 30:45Speaker 9: team or against him that isn't looking at him side-eye like, dude,
- 30:49Speaker 9: you took a cart.
- 30:50Speaker 3: For a hamstring.
- 30:52Speaker 1: Yeah, but then you see Tyson Bajan and you're like, man,
- 30:55Speaker 1: please come back.
- 30:56Speaker 3: I mean, we need you.
- 30:58Speaker 8: Tyson Bajan also hurt.
- 30:59Speaker 3: Special Bajan.
- 31:00Speaker 8: It's supposed to be Case Keenum this week now.
- 31:02Speaker 6: What? Yeah.
- 31:04Speaker 8: Izzy, you sound like a Bears fan right now because
- 31:06Speaker 8: Bears fans are very defensive this week about Caleb Williams.
- 31:10Speaker 8: And Big Cat, a friend of the show from part
- 31:13Speaker 8: of my take, Stu, he offered a take that I
- 31:15Speaker 8: don't think I've heard anybody say.
- 31:17Speaker 6: All right.
- 31:17Speaker 8: He said, what if Caleb Williams is just Wolverine with
- 31:20Speaker 8: healing ability where that injury was that bad, but Caleb
- 31:23Speaker 8: Williams is so superhuman that he's already healed up.
- 31:27Speaker 1: So the reaction in the moment was the correct reaction
- 31:29Speaker 1: because he actually was feeling that bad.
- 31:31Speaker 3: But by the time he was being carted off the field,
- 31:34Speaker 3: it had healed.
- 31:34Speaker 8: It had healed already.
- 31:36Speaker 4: Do you think it was Caleb Williams requesting a cart
- 31:38Speaker 4: or do you think the team sent a cart and
- 31:40Speaker 4: he's like, OK, whatever?
- 31:41Speaker 3: I think the team set the course.
- 31:42Speaker 8: Exactly.
- 31:43Speaker 6: Yes.
- 31:44Speaker 3: I don't care.
- 31:45Speaker 8: I don't care. He got on it. He did the
- 31:47Speaker 8: thumbs up.
- 31:48Speaker 9: I can still feel my limbs on a grade one
- 31:50Speaker 9: hamstring strain.
- 31:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm sure the Giants fans are loving Jackson Dart today,
- 31:54Speaker 4: even though he's not going to play for the rest
- 31:55Speaker 4: of the season because he walked.
- 31:57Speaker 3: Get out of here.
- 31:58Speaker 1: 877-99 on Fox. That's how you know you've made it
- 32:01Speaker 1: in your city, though, right? When everyone is, all the
- 32:03Speaker 1: Bears fans are defending Caleb Williams. That was not the
- 32:05Speaker 1: case a year ago even, right?
- 32:07Speaker 4: Which is why he was so upset when he got hurt. Like,
- 32:09Speaker 4: he had so much momentum going his way outside of
- 32:12Speaker 4: that Minnesota Vikings game.
- 32:13Speaker 3: That was a tough one. Well, he was about to score, though,
- 32:14Speaker 3: and he knew it.
- 32:16Speaker 4: But it was like he's got so much momentum going
- 32:18Speaker 4: for him, and then it just gets stopped suddenly, and
- 32:20Speaker 4: he knew it immediately, and he was like, oh, this sucks.
- 32:22Speaker 3: Yeah, well, golf court.
- 32:23Speaker 2: Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Gotts and Company.
- 32:27Speaker 2: live weekdays at 3 p.m eastern 12 p.m pacific.

- 32:49Speaker 3: Izzy, everyone's so happy to have you back. We have
- 32:51Speaker 3: a full board of calls. How about that?
- 32:53Speaker 4: Yeah, but none of them want to talk about me.
- 32:55Speaker 4: They want to talk about others.
- 32:57Speaker 3: Should we take them or should we allow you to
- 32:59Speaker 3: talk about the things that you want to talk about?
- 33:01Speaker 4: Let's take one call and take the temperature of the
- 33:04Speaker 4: call room right now.
- 33:05Speaker 6: 877-99 on Fox.
- 33:05Speaker 1: That is 877-99 on Fox. We'll get to Dan Byer
- 33:07Speaker 1: and the sports update. In just a second, I think
- 33:13Speaker 1: Dan Beyer had a question for us. Yes, in the
- 33:15Speaker 1: first segment as well.
- 33:16Speaker 3: That's all right.
- 33:17Speaker 4: I had more to say.
- 33:19Speaker 3: Get in line. Let's go to.
- 33:21Speaker 4: I love the beef.
- 33:22Speaker 1: That you have with Dan Beyer simply because you've never
- 33:26Speaker 1: won a Mount Rushmore Monday. You're still holding on to it.
- 33:30Speaker 1: Welcome back from a long weekend. Let's go to Chad,
- 33:33Speaker 1: who's in Pennsylvania today.
- 33:34Speaker 3: Chad, go ahead. You're on Fox Sports Radio.
- 33:39Speaker 6: Chad.
- 33:42Speaker 3: Great start.
- 33:42Speaker 4: Great start.
- 33:44Speaker 3: Well, let's see. Hold on, Mikey. Me and Mikey are
- 33:46Speaker 3: playing a game.
- 33:47Speaker 1: We are battling. All right, let's start again. Let's go
- 33:50Speaker 1: to Chad in Pennsylvania today.
- 33:53Speaker 3: Chad, go ahead. You're on Fox Sports Radio.
- 33:56Speaker 5: Yeah, first of all, I was going to say I
- 33:57Speaker 5: love the show, you guys. I'm glad to have you
- 34:00Speaker 5: out here. But, yeah, you guys got to remember, AM
- 34:02Speaker 5: radio is still dominating. There's all parts of the rural country.
- 34:05Speaker 5: We got no satellite in between the mountains. That's what
- 34:09Speaker 5: I'm talking about. And then, also, I wondered what you
- 34:14Speaker 5: guys thought the chances of Aaron Rodgers surviving this year
- 34:18Speaker 5: with this offensive line play from the Pittsburgh Steelers. I'm
- 34:20Speaker 5: watching the guy get killed against the Patriots.
- 34:22Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 34:23Speaker 10: All right.
- 34:23Speaker 3: Thank you. Thank you, Chad. Izzy, you want to comment
- 34:26Speaker 3: on that? The chances of Aaron Rodgers surviving this season.
- 34:30Speaker 4: I mean, I haven't been paying that close of attention
- 34:33Speaker 4: to his offensive line play. I'm more paying attention to
- 34:35Speaker 4: what he has to say afterward. And, When he says
- 34:38Speaker 4: it starts with me and then starts to blame the
- 34:40Speaker 4: entire coaching staff is bleeping hilarious. The guy's going to
- 34:44Speaker 4: walk out the door never taking blame for anything that
- 34:46Speaker 4: goes wrong. What I've realized from Aaron is just like
- 34:50Speaker 4: it's not that he doesn't have anything anymore, but he
- 34:53Speaker 4: doesn't have it. And he's like the whole offense is
- 34:55Speaker 4: predicated on these short passes and behind the line of
- 34:58Speaker 4: scrimmage passes. It feels like even with McCarthy and it's just.
- 35:01Speaker 4: It doesn't feel like anything that can sustain any sort
- 35:05Speaker 4: of success. And so, you know, unless that defense carries
- 35:08Speaker 4: them for stretches, he's going to probably be a below
- 35:12Speaker 4: average quarterback in his final year. And no, I don't
- 35:15Speaker 4: think he'll survive if his offensive line keeps playing this poorly.
- 35:18Speaker 8: Izzy, there was a play in the Patriots game. where
- 35:20Speaker 8: Aaron Rodgers got absolutely folded like a lawn chair. And
- 35:26Speaker 8: I'm watching that game. And it's sad watching Aaron Rodgers
- 35:29Speaker 8: out there because when you're watching him, you're thinking about
- 35:31Speaker 8: the guy that was an MVP in this league. If
- 35:34Speaker 8: I'm Aaron Rodgers, I'm packing up my locker and I'm leaving.
- 35:36Speaker 8: And I'm saying, it's been good, Pittsburgh. We don't need
- 35:39Speaker 8: to finish this out.
- 35:40Speaker 3: Yeah, Mikey.
- 35:42Speaker 9: For the record, he never said anything like that when
- 35:44Speaker 9: Mike Tomlin was in charge. He never said anything about
- 35:48Speaker 9: the coaching staff. Maybe Mike McCarthy doesn't quite have the
- 35:53Speaker 9: respect he thinks he has with Aaron.
- 35:55Speaker 1: I'm glad you brought up Tomlin. Izzy, if Mike Tomlin
- 35:59Speaker 1: calls the Green Bay Packers today, what do you do?
- 36:03Speaker 4: If I'm Green Bay, I'm answering that phone call. I'm
- 36:06Speaker 4: spending about an hour on the phone with Mr.
- 36:08Speaker 6: Mike. Mr.
- 36:09Speaker 3: Personality.
- 36:09Speaker 4: Mike Tomlin all of a sudden. And yeah, I think
- 36:12Speaker 4: he's got a better track record than LeFleur.
- 36:15Speaker 3: 877-99 on Fox. Go ahead, Taylor.
- 36:16Speaker 8: Yeah, so Stu, I put this out on social media.
- 36:19Speaker 8: You're the Green Bay Packers. Mike Tomlin calls. What do
- 36:21Speaker 8: you do? I almost put it out on social media
- 36:23Speaker 8: just saying it and not really expecting much of a response.
- 36:27Speaker 8: Then I get back to my phone and I see
- 36:29Speaker 8: over 500 notifications. And it's just a bunch of people
- 36:33Speaker 8: just responding what the Packers would do if all of
- 36:37Speaker 8: a sudden they got a caller ID in Mike Tomlin.
- 36:39Speaker 8: And a majority of them are saying Mike Tomlin's happy.
- 36:43Speaker 8: Stop mentioning his name for jobs. And then the other
- 36:46Speaker 8: half was saying, if you're the Packers, pick up that
- 36:49Speaker 8: and make sure Tomlin's on your sideline on Sunday.
- 36:51Speaker 4: They don't have caller ID in Green Bay yet.
- 36:54Speaker 3: It's on the way.
- 36:55Speaker 4: 50-50, Taylor.
- 36:57Speaker 1: That's what sports radio is all about. I mean, that's
- 36:59Speaker 1: why it's a good question. All right, Dan, stay right
- 37:02Speaker 1: there for a second. I am told that you have
- 37:03Speaker 1: a question for us. I'm told that Taylor has a
- 37:05Speaker 1: question for us. Everyone has questions for.
- 37:07Speaker 3: Us, is he? Let's start with Dan Beyer. Dan, what
- 37:10Speaker 3: do you have for us?
- 37:11Speaker 7: To a point that Mikey made earlier about Arch Manning.
- 37:15Speaker 7: When you guys look at Arch Manning, you say if
- 37:17Speaker 7: his name was on a different jersey or if it
- 37:19Speaker 7: wasn't his name, things would be different. Do you look
- 37:22Speaker 7: at it as Arch is the next Peyton or that
- 37:25Speaker 7: Arch is not going to fail because he's a Manning?
- 37:28Speaker 7: Because I think that there are two different discussions in
- 37:31Speaker 7: how you look at Arch Manning. And I was just
- 37:33Speaker 7: curious when Mikey brought up the point of how you
- 37:36Speaker 7: guys look at it. Is it because Arch could be
- 37:38Speaker 7: the home run of Peyton or because you know he's
- 37:41Speaker 7: not going to just ultimately fail and wash out like
- 37:43Speaker 7: a Josh Rosen?
- 37:45Speaker 4: No, I look at it as they have the physical capabilities, right?
- 37:49Speaker 4: They're almost raised as quarterbacks, but when you get to
- 37:52Speaker 4: a certain point, you have to not just be that
- 37:54Speaker 4: level of great, not just be all in, but it
- 37:57Speaker 4: has to be it has to dominate your thinking. It
- 37:59Speaker 4: has to be the one thing that you care about,
- 38:02Speaker 4: the first, second, and third thing that you care about.
- 38:04Speaker 4: And while Arch has the physical tools, that's not the
- 38:08Speaker 4: only thing that's required to be a great NFL quarterback.
- 38:11Speaker 4: You have to be, like I said, just 100% committed
- 38:14Speaker 4: and your brain has.
- 38:15Speaker 3: To be nothing but football in there. And I just
- 38:17Speaker 3: don't know if that's who he is.
- 38:18Speaker 4: I don't know that. I don't know if it's just
- 38:19Speaker 4: because his personality seems to show through a little bit
- 38:22Speaker 4: or because it's just a new age and you just
- 38:24Speaker 4: never really know. You're not going to go 100%. on
- 38:27Speaker 4: quarterbacks in the same family. If he was an Eli Manning,
- 38:31Speaker 4: like a fringe Hall of Famer, I'll take that.
- 38:34Speaker 6: Yes.
- 38:35Speaker 1: To say he's going to be the next Peyton Manning
- 38:37Speaker 1: is ridiculous. We shouldn't say that about anyone. We shouldn't
- 38:39Speaker 1: put that expectation on anyone. I think he can be
- 38:42Speaker 1: a good quarterback. I don't know if he's going to
- 38:44Speaker 1: be an all time great quarterback, which is what his uncle,
- 38:48Speaker 1: not his dad, his uncle was.
- 38:50Speaker 6: In Peyton Manning.
- 38:50Speaker 4: Did I say dad?
- 38:51Speaker 1: No, but I think people just, they just assume that
- 38:53Speaker 1: Arch Manning, that Peyton is his dad. He's not. And
- 38:57Speaker 1: I don't think Arch Manning is going to be the
- 38:58Speaker 1: next Peyton Manning. Why? Because he's a once in a
- 39:01Speaker 1: lifetime quarterback, Peyton Manning. And so I feel like that's
- 39:04Speaker 1: too lofty of an expectation. What do you have Taylor?
- 39:06Speaker 8: But the hope is that you are drafting the next
- 39:08Speaker 8: Peyton Manning with just athleticism because that that's the, the
- 39:13Speaker 8: promise with arch where that, that touchdown he had in
- 39:16Speaker 8: the bowl game last year against Michigan, where he's streaking
- 39:19Speaker 8: through the field where you're like, Oh my God, we
- 39:21Speaker 8: didn't know a Manning can move like that. And then
- 39:23Speaker 8: you kind of forget that Cooper Manning was the athlete
- 39:25Speaker 8: in the family.
- 39:26Speaker 6: Yes.
- 39:26Speaker 3: Arch can scoot. What do you got Mikey?
- 39:28Speaker 4: It's a fantastic question.
- 39:30Speaker 9: After Dan asked it, I was trying to figure out
- 39:32Speaker 9: what is it that I think. And I just cannot
- 39:35Speaker 9: see a floor so low with somebody named Manning where
- 39:38Speaker 9: you'd be like, oh, that guy was a bust. He
- 39:40Speaker 9: might not live up to Eli or Peyton, but I
- 39:44Speaker 9: just can't see that. a kid like that, a Manning
- 39:48Speaker 9: come in and, and be just an absolute failure.
- 39:53Speaker 3: Look, I do think you're right.
- 39:54Speaker 4: The floor is, is higher than probably any of the
- 39:57Speaker 4: other quarterbacks that I mentioned just because of everything you
- 40:00Speaker 4: just said. But again, there's a huge difference between middle
- 40:04Speaker 4: of the league quarterback and elite quarterback. One will get
- 40:08Speaker 4: you through a season. The other ones will actually make
- 40:10Speaker 4: you win. And if you're going through this mud and,
- 40:12Speaker 4: of being god-awful just for one year, really, but for
- 40:16Speaker 4: a long period of time for the Dolphins, You need
- 40:19Speaker 4: that payoff.
- 40:20Speaker 1: If Eli doesn't make two throws in the postseason, two
- 40:22Speaker 1: of the best throws we've ever seen in the postseason, his.
- 40:25Speaker 3: Career is kind of a bust, right?
- 40:26Speaker 4: I mean— I wouldn't call it a bust, but it
- 40:28Speaker 4: certainly wouldn't be— yeah, it wouldn't live anywhere near what we're
- 40:31Speaker 4: talking about right now. We wouldn't be talking about the Mannings.
- 40:33Speaker 4: We'd be talking about a Manning.
- 40:35Speaker 3: I offended Mikey A. What happened there? You're shaking your head.
- 40:37Speaker 3: What happened? I mean, he made two throws. That's it.
- 40:41Speaker 9: That's what makes him a fringe as a— as he
- 40:45Speaker 9: put it, a fringe Hall of Famer, but that's not
- 40:46Speaker 9: what made him a good quarterback.
- 40:48Speaker 3: He was a good quarterback.
- 40:49Speaker 9: He just, those throws made him in consideration for the
- 40:53Speaker 9: Hall of Fame.
- 40:54Speaker 3: Whose career would you rather have, Eli's or Peyton's?
- 40:56Speaker 8: That's not even close.
- 40:57Speaker 2: Why?
- 40:58Speaker 6: That's not even.
- 40:58Speaker 9: They both have two Super Bowls.
- 41:00Speaker 3: No, you know what? Yeah, but Eli, he beat the
- 41:02Speaker 3: Patriots in both those Super Bowls. He beat Tom Brady
- 41:05Speaker 3: in both of those Super Bowls.
- 41:06Speaker 9: So did Peyton.
- 41:07Speaker 1: I know, but Peyton Manning, Mikey, Peyton Manning had nothing
- 41:10Speaker 1: to do with that second Super Bowl.
- 41:12Speaker 3: Nothing.
- 41:13Speaker 8: The only argument I think you can make for Eli
- 41:16Speaker 8: Manning is the fact that he did it in New York,
- 41:18Speaker 8: and if you do it in New York, you're just
- 41:20Speaker 8: going to be more beloved in your market. Like, I
- 41:22Speaker 8: know Peyton Manning... is huge in Indianapolis. Eli Manning could walk, like,
- 41:27Speaker 8: who cares if you could walk anywhere in Indianapolis and
- 41:29Speaker 8: get a table? Eli Manning could walk anywhere in New
- 41:34Speaker 8: York City and get a table.
- 41:36Speaker 4: After Jalen Brunson.
- 41:37Speaker 3: It's a fair point, and it's how we should be
- 41:38Speaker 3: doing this. Yes, after Jalen Brunson. 877-99 on Fox. Taylor,
- 41:44Speaker 3: did you have a question for us? Yes, I did, actually.
- 41:47Speaker 6: Okay, go ahead.
- 41:48Speaker 3: What do you have?
- 41:48Speaker 8: So I was thinking about this when I was watching
- 41:51Speaker 8: a report earlier, Jaden Daniels and Jackson Dart, where they're
- 41:55Speaker 8: getting second opinions on if they need surgeries or not.
- 41:58Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 41:59Speaker 8: How do you guys feel about second opinions? Because it
- 42:01Speaker 8: just feels like the second opinion is you just want
- 42:04Speaker 8: the doctor to tell you what you want to hear.
- 42:06Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 42:06Speaker 3: No, I'm a big fan of second opinions. Of course
- 42:08Speaker 3: you are.
- 42:09Speaker 4: Man, I do not trust every doctor. Do not trust
- 42:12Speaker 4: every doctor I see. As somebody who's been to several dermatologists,
- 42:16Speaker 4: they're guessing. They're guessing on most things. And yeah, I'm
- 42:20Speaker 4: okay with going to another doctor, somebody who might be
- 42:23Speaker 4: I don't know. It just might be more advanced on
- 42:25Speaker 4: certain areas. But with a dislocated elbow?
- 42:29Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 42:30Speaker 4: With something like that, you kind of can look at
- 42:31Speaker 4: it if you're a regular doctor and be like, yeah,
- 42:33Speaker 4: you got to fix that thing.
- 42:34Speaker 3: Everyone's fired up to talk here. Go ahead.
- 42:36Speaker 8: So, Izzy, what happens if the first doctor tells you A,
- 42:40Speaker 8: the second doctor tells you B, do you then need
- 42:43Speaker 8: a third opinion?
- 42:43Speaker 4: Yeah, you got to go Rochambeau two out of three.
- 42:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 42:46Speaker 3: Well, what's the answer you're looking for, though?
- 42:49Speaker 1: If the second doctor gives you the answer you want,
- 42:53Speaker 1: then you believe him, right?
- 42:55Speaker 3: Or her. What do you have, Mikey?
- 42:58Speaker 9: I was going to ask what Taylor asked. Like, at
- 43:00Speaker 9: what point have you heard enough opinions? Do you have
- 43:03Speaker 9: to get, like, a best of five, a best of seven? Like,
- 43:06Speaker 9: what is it?
- 43:07Speaker 1: I got to tell you, I want to go to
- 43:09Speaker 1: one doctor, and whatever that doctor— I want to trust
- 43:12Speaker 1: my doctor enough that if he tells me I need surgery,
- 43:15Speaker 1: I need surgery.
- 43:15Speaker 3: I don't like second opinions. I hate that.
- 43:18Speaker 4: Yeah, no, I mean, look, and this kind of takes
- 43:20Speaker 4: me to this Caleb Williams conversation, which I'll get to later, but, like, yeah,
- 43:24Speaker 4: for these players— It's not just as simple as, oh yeah,
- 43:27Speaker 4: you need to get that elbow fixed. Like I want
- 43:29Speaker 4: to know to what extreme can I push it so
- 43:32Speaker 4: that I can play football. Because it's all they care
- 43:36Speaker 4: about right now. And, you know, it seems like a
- 43:38Speaker 4: long season. It's 17 weeks, 18 weeks, whatever. If you
- 43:42Speaker 4: can somehow survive, if you can tell me, hey, as
- 43:44Speaker 4: a player, hey, try not to fall on your left
- 43:47Speaker 4: side while catching yourself.
- 43:49Speaker 3: Cool.
- 43:49Speaker 4: I'll do that.
- 43:50Speaker 3: Just keep me on the field somehow. Yes. 877-99 on Fox.
- 43:55Speaker 3: Look at this, Mikey. Full board of calls.
- 43:56Speaker 6: AM radio.
- 43:57Speaker 3: It is alive and well. Let's go to Steve in
- 44:00Speaker 3: South Dakota today. Steve, go ahead. You're on Fox Sports Radio.
- 44:04Speaker 6: Hey, guys, long-time listener, and I like your show, especially
- 44:08Speaker 6: when you said Peyton Manning had nothing to do with
- 44:11Speaker 6: winning that second Super Bowl. He didn't.
- 44:13Speaker 3: Yeah, they won it for him.
- 44:14Speaker 6: He didn't, man. He's a loser. Anyway, I want to
- 44:18Speaker 6: talk about Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson. How great are they?
- 44:23Speaker 6: How many championships have they won? Can we quit comparing
- 44:26Speaker 6: them with the greatest? What would you rather have, a
- 44:30Speaker 6: league MVP or a Super Bowl MVP?
- 44:34Speaker 3: Super Bowl MVP every time. What do you think, Izzy?
- 44:36Speaker 4: I would like to have a quarterback that gives me
- 44:38Speaker 4: a chance every year. And then the thing with those
- 44:41Speaker 4: two guys is, with Josh Allen in particular, is it's
- 44:45Speaker 4: almost like he's above criticism, which bothers me. It's like
- 44:48Speaker 4: the guy's still going to make mistakes. He's still going
- 44:50Speaker 4: to throw some interceptions. He's still going to probably do
- 44:52Speaker 4: too much or try to do too much with his legs.
- 44:55Speaker 4: And everybody, when he does lose, will look to any
- 44:58Speaker 4: other reason. Oh, he doesn't have those receivers. Oh, the
- 45:00Speaker 4: offensive coordinator. Oh, it's the head coach.
- 45:02Speaker 10: Oh.
- 45:02Speaker 4: And it's just like, all right, it's okay to blame
- 45:04Speaker 4: him because, again— He hasn't won you anything, really. Lamar
- 45:08Speaker 4: Jackson seems to get criticized whenever he loses and, you know,
- 45:12Speaker 4: when he trusts his legs too much or when he
- 45:14Speaker 4: overthrows somebody. But nobody's going to remember necessarily Mark Andrews
- 45:19Speaker 4: dropping an obvious touchdown or two-point conversion, I can't remember,
- 45:23Speaker 4: in the end zone.
- 45:24Speaker 3: It was a touchdown.
- 45:24Speaker 4: Just make the criticisms fair is all I'm saying. But
- 45:27Speaker 4: I'm with you. I'd love to have a championship, and
- 45:30Speaker 4: it doesn't matter if I have a middle-of-the-pack quarterback.
- 45:33Speaker 3: But for a.
- 45:33Speaker 4: Long-term fan, like I think Buffalo Bills fans are clearly
- 45:37Speaker 4: just ridiculously happy to have this guy because they assume
- 45:41Speaker 4: he's going to win them at least one. And we'll
- 45:43Speaker 4: have that conversation. If he never wins one, we'll have
- 45:45Speaker 4: that conversation when his career's over.
- 45:46Speaker 1: It was kind of like the Dolphins with Dan Marino.
- 45:48Speaker 3: Yeah, Mikey.
- 45:50Speaker 9: What does Stan want? Because he's talking about Josh Allen
- 45:53Speaker 9: and Lamar being losers, and then he's talking about Peyton
- 45:56Speaker 9: Manning with his two Super Bowls being a loser.
- 45:59Speaker 8: What does he want?
- 46:00Speaker 1: Well, this is why you don't get any calls, and
- 46:01Speaker 1: it's why I do, okay?
- 46:04Speaker 2: I would love to have a conversation.
- 46:07Speaker 9: Like, I have a feeling, like, he's one of those that, like,
- 46:09Speaker 9: Bart Starr is the only guy that's ever been a
- 46:11Speaker 9: good quarterback in his life.
- 46:12Speaker 3: Let's go north of the border. Who's the caller there, Taylor?
- 46:15Speaker 3: I can't see my board right now.
- 46:17Speaker 11: Colin.
- 46:17Speaker 3: Let's go to Colin. Colin, go ahead. North of the border.
- 46:20Speaker 11: Hey, thanks for taking my call.
- 46:24Speaker 3: Yep.
- 46:25Speaker 11: I've been a Packers fan since 1989, and I don't
- 46:29Speaker 11: even know if I want to talk about them today
- 46:30Speaker 11: or not.
- 46:31Speaker 3: Okay.
- 46:32Speaker 11: Because that was obviously a pretty bad game last night.
- 46:36Speaker 11: I will say, though, that if I was the Packers
- 46:38Speaker 11: front office and Mike Tomlin called– I would either A,
- 46:42Speaker 11: think Mike Tomlin is just pranking us and just hang up,
- 46:48Speaker 11: or I would think it's a Bears fan, one of
- 46:50Speaker 11: my epic Bears fans, calling just trying to prank us too.
- 46:53Speaker 11: So yeah, either way, we're not taking that call.
- 46:56Speaker 3: I would take that call right in front of LeFleur.
- 46:58Speaker 4: You know those old movies where you have to keep
- 47:02Speaker 4: the person on the line long enough so you can make.
- 47:04Speaker 3: The recording, right?
- 47:05Speaker 8: So you can trace them.
- 47:06Speaker 3: Yeah, you can trace the call. I would be like, hey,
- 47:09Speaker 3: get the contract ready. Keep him on the line. We
- 47:11Speaker 3: got to get the contract ready right now. Let's go
- 47:14Speaker 3: to George, who's in Virginia today. George, go ahead. You're
- 47:18Speaker 3: on Fox Sports Radio.
- 47:20Speaker 6: What's going on, guys?
- 47:21Speaker 3: How y'all doing this afternoon? Good, man. How are you, sir?
- 47:24Speaker 6: Doing good.
- 47:25Speaker 5: Been a Bills fan since 1969.
- 47:27Speaker 2: All right.
- 47:29Speaker 5: So I've lived it, been it, done it. I'm patiently
- 47:33Speaker 5: waiting as well as I can. They will get the
- 47:38Speaker 5: defense fixed because every year their defense.
- 47:41Speaker 6: Always gets ragged on.
- 47:43Speaker 4: And as throughout the last year, their defense got stronger
- 47:46Speaker 4: and stronger as the year went.
- 47:49Speaker 5: Is this my year? Wow.
- 47:51Speaker 3: Is it? Oh, is that the question?
- 47:53Speaker 4: Yes.
- 47:55Speaker 3: Man, I wish I knew that. It's a great call,
- 47:56Speaker 3: by the way. Rack him. Anyway, go ahead.
- 47:58Speaker 10: Is it?
- 47:59Speaker 4: Is it his year? I wish I knew that for
- 48:01Speaker 4: sure because I would win a lot of money.
- 48:05Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 48:05Speaker 4: I think midseason is probably when you start to really
- 48:08Speaker 4: figure out who's who. Like, are the Bengals really a
- 48:11Speaker 4: Super Bowl contender? Are the Chiefs really back with, you know,
- 48:15Speaker 4: Patrick Mahomes? I feel like they're going to be up there.
- 48:17Speaker 3: They're going to be.
- 48:18Speaker 4: Well, he has a defense now, is he?
- 48:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 48:23Speaker 4: Is it their year?
- 48:24Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 48:24Speaker 4: It seems like he's in a great place. It seems
- 48:26Speaker 4: like they're comfortable with the new coach and everything else,
- 48:29Speaker 4: but it's hard to tell.
