- 0:01Speaker 1: Here's the thing.
- 0:02Speaker 2: So we got serious things going on, critical things going on,
- 0:05Speaker 2: stuff we've got to do. And we're having a tiff
- 0:08Speaker 2: with Canada. And so we renamed the Gulf of America,
- 0:11Speaker 2: which I thought was actually kind of cool.
- 0:12Speaker 1: I like that.
- 0:13Speaker 2: And now all of a sudden we're going after Lake
- 0:15Speaker 2: Ontario and renaming it Lake America.
- 0:19Speaker 1: It's dumb.
- 0:20Speaker 2: It's a troll. It's silly. And there's a part of me,
- 0:23Speaker 2: the first thing that occurred to me is like, could
- 0:26Speaker 2: we maybe win the war? Could we maybe focus before
- 0:31Speaker 2: we stop? But then I stopped myself from that reaction.
- 0:36Speaker 1: I thought.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Don't overreact. It's just a troll. It's the latest Trumpian
- 0:41Speaker 2: troll of the day. No one is going to call
- 0:43Speaker 2: it Lake America. It ultimately doesn't matter. He's just trying
- 0:47Speaker 2: to thumb his nose at the Canadians. I ultimately found
- 0:52Speaker 2: myself lecturing myself not to just not to get real bothered.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Well, here's why I like I kind of like it.
- 0:59Speaker 3: And I saw some news last night that was pretty infuriating.
- 1:03Speaker 3: The CBC is Canada's equivalent of, you know, our big
- 1:07Speaker 3: national network or the BBC in Britain. They have a
- 1:11Speaker 3: huge Canadian broadcasting corporation there. And they are good friends
- 1:16Speaker 3: up in Canada.
- 1:17Speaker 1: They're so nice. Canada nice. They're so nice. Yeah.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Why have a beef with Canada? They're just our nice, friendly, warm,
- 1:24Speaker 3: fuzzy neighbors to the north. The CBC informed their staff
- 1:30Speaker 3: via a memorandum as we're getting ready to commemorate the
- 1:33Speaker 3: 25th anniversary of 9-11. Do not call 9-11 a terrorist attack. Now,
- 1:42Speaker 3: you let that sink in. They went out of their
- 1:45Speaker 3: way to inform the staff of journalists in Canada, do
- 1:50Speaker 3: not call it– here's what the memo said. Do not
- 1:53Speaker 3: refer to the September 11th attacks as terrorist attacks. The
- 1:58Speaker 3: hijackings led to passenger jet crashes in Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania.
- 2:05Speaker 1: And Manhattan.
- 2:07Speaker 3: It's like Elon Omar. Some things happen to some people.
- 2:12Speaker 3: The hijackings led to passenger jet crashes.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Just led to them. We've had hijackings forever. Do hijackings
- 2:20Speaker 2: usually lead to jet crashes?
- 2:22Speaker 3: No.
- 2:22Speaker 2: A hijacker tries to commandeer a plane. But there was
- 2:24Speaker 2: something particularly that made the jets crash. It's called terrorists
- 2:29Speaker 2: guiding them into buildings. And the CBC, you know who
- 2:33Speaker 2: wrote the memo? Know who wrote the memo?
- 2:35Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. I know exactly who wrote it.
- 2:38Speaker 2: He's the senior director of journalistic standards. His name, Bassem Boshra. Now,
- 2:44Speaker 2: I don't name shame anybody. I don't care where anybody
- 2:48Speaker 2: is from. But if Bassem Boshra is handling your journalistic
- 2:53Speaker 2: standards at the CBC... Maybe this is where your linguistic
- 2:58Speaker 2: police come from.
- 2:59Speaker 3: So I'm reading between the lines a little bit as
- 3:01Speaker 3: Trump is going back and forth on tariffs and his
- 3:04Speaker 3: tit for tat with Canada. And he has said on
- 3:07Speaker 3: a few occasions now.
- 3:09Speaker 1: They're jerks. They're not nice people.
- 3:11Speaker 3: The people making decisions on behalf of the of the
- 3:14Speaker 3: country of Canada are not negotiating in good faith. This
- 3:18Speaker 3: is Mark Carney. Mark Carney is a tool. He's not
- 3:21Speaker 3: and he's not happy with them at all. And so,
- 3:23Speaker 3: you know what?
- 3:24Speaker 1: Fine.
- 3:25Speaker 3: I noticed your news lady, Nikki, said the Lake Ontario
- 3:29Speaker 3: is now known as Lake America.
- 3:32Speaker 1: According to President Trump. Yes.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Your news lady with a little shade there because it's
- 3:38Speaker 3: only Trump.
- 3:38Speaker 1: And look, it's Trump being Trump. It is Trump. It's
- 3:43Speaker 1: what he does. Yes, I know.
- 3:45Speaker 3: He's only more popular than Ronald Reagan and Abraham Lincoln combined.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 3:50Speaker 1: So there is that.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Which led to the other thing in my own little
- 3:54Speaker 2: internal dialogue because you and I have also talked about it, Mr.
- 3:57Speaker 3: President.
- 3:58Speaker 2: How about not doing things that give the other side
- 4:00Speaker 2: the opportunity to beat your brains in? But even then,
- 4:03Speaker 2: another voice comes on top of that and says, what
- 4:06Speaker 2: harm is this?
- 4:07Speaker 1: Who's upset?
- 4:08Speaker 2: Only the people who hate him anyway. Is there anybody
- 4:11Speaker 2: who said there were a couple of people on Twitter
- 4:13Speaker 2: who tried to get away with this?
- 4:15Speaker 1: I voted for Trump.
- 4:16Speaker 2: I didn't vote for this. I don't believe those people
- 4:19Speaker 2: really for a minute.
- 4:20Speaker 1: I just don't.
- 4:24Speaker 3: My spidey sense goes up when somebody calls in, I
- 4:27Speaker 3: voted for him three times.
- 4:29Speaker 1: And it's like, get ready.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Here we go. Because you're going to hear a bagging
- 4:33Speaker 3: on Trump. Speaking of the man, about a month ago,
- 4:37Speaker 3: he warned us that other nations are trying to get
- 4:40Speaker 3: us to slow down. In being staying competitive with countries
- 4:45Speaker 3: like China. Yep. Well, he called it. Turns out there
- 4:49Speaker 3: was a bombshell released late last night. The global government
- 4:53Speaker 3: affairs team over at X, my favorite platform, revealed that
- 4:58Speaker 3: they had uncovered proof positive. of a foreign influence campaign,
- 5:04Speaker 3: turns out that roughly 200,000 suspected Chinese inauthentic accounts have
- 5:12Speaker 3: been trying to manipulate the debate in America over data centers.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Here we go.
- 5:19Speaker 3: China desperately wants to beat us in the field of technology.
- 5:25Speaker 3: We need these data centers. Yesterday, I shared with you
- 5:28Speaker 3: a story about a community in Washington State. Their poverty
- 5:31Speaker 3: rate has plummeted. It is a shining city on the hill.
- 5:35Speaker 3: They are thriving. They've got beautiful parks and a great
- 5:40Speaker 3: recreation center. What's it due to? Data centers. They've embraced
- 5:45Speaker 3: the data centers. And it turns out that they don't
- 5:49Speaker 3: use a ton of water. It turns out they recycle
- 5:52Speaker 3: the water. It turns out the water that the data
- 5:54Speaker 3: centers are using are way less than anybody thought. And
- 5:57Speaker 3: they recycle the water every 10 years. And when people
- 6:01Speaker 3: learn that, their attitude changes dramatically. People say, now, I've
- 6:05Speaker 3: been telling you, I know people who think these data
- 6:07Speaker 3: centers are secret surveillance sites.
- 6:10Speaker 1: I know.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Don't even go there.
- 6:12Speaker 1: But, Mark, wait a minute. You know where I'll bet
- 6:14Speaker 1: they got that from? The Chinese.
- 6:16Speaker 3: I'll bet they got that from the Chinese bots on X.
- 6:19Speaker 3: And I'm as guilty of this as anybody. I see
- 6:23Speaker 3: something online. I tend to believe it, and I'm really wrong.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Well, stop that.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Well, I know, but don't you post the things you
- 6:32Speaker 3: believe that you think are true?
- 6:34Speaker 2: I mean, my skepticism is usually on fairly high alert,
- 6:39Speaker 2: I mean, in most ways.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Really?
- 6:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 6:43Speaker 2: In today's fallen, deceptive, troll-laden universe, I'm probably inclined to
- 6:50Speaker 2: show skepticism to something that I should be more open
- 6:53Speaker 2: to rather than the other way around.
- 6:56Speaker 3: I mean, Nebraska, who's listening to us right now and
- 6:59Speaker 3: watching Eminem Experience on X, and we always stream it incidentally,
- 7:04Speaker 3: There's a great chance if you ever– I love X.
- 7:06Speaker 3: At Gallagher's show, I should be more skeptical than I am,
- 7:09Speaker 3: and I'm sorry that I'm not, but I'm going to
- 7:10Speaker 3: get better at it. Because you're right, Mark. I need
- 7:13Speaker 3: to be– look, I get duped. And it's because I'm
- 7:17Speaker 3: spending nine hours a night with my eyes bleeding, looking
- 7:21Speaker 3: doom-scrolling like a lunatic.
- 7:22Speaker 2: But that should hone your skills even further.
- 7:26Speaker 1: No, it makes them worse because I just believe everything.
- 7:28Speaker 3: But Nebraska just pointed out, did you know that your
- 7:32Speaker 3: local Walmart uses more water than a data center?
- 7:36Speaker 2: Oh, and golf courses.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Golf courses use more water.
- 7:40Speaker 3: But when people learn that, it's like, don't be Mike.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Don't be Gallagher. Don't get impacted. Don't throw yourself under
- 7:48Speaker 1: the bus. Right.
- 7:49Speaker 3: Don't buy the propaganda. We need these data centers. They
- 7:53Speaker 3: need to be responsible. That's okay.
- 7:55Speaker 2: But we don't need them in the middle of your ranch.
- 7:58Speaker 2: If this tech is so great. Two things about the
- 8:00Speaker 2: data centers, because I don't want to give the back
- 8:01Speaker 2: of my hand to all the opposition.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Nope.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Because there are people who say, wait a minute, does
- 8:06Speaker 2: it have to be right here where all these people live?
- 8:08Speaker 1: Because it is noisy. It is a blight.
- 8:10Speaker 2: It is unattractive. Let's find some place in the hinterlands
- 8:13Speaker 2: to put these things or put them in Flint, Michigan.
- 8:16Speaker 2: I was listening to Kurt Schlichter fill in. With a guy,
- 8:19Speaker 2: a guest on O'Connor this morning. And I think there
- 8:22Speaker 2: are places we can put them because we do need them.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Let's find better places to put them. And in your
- 8:26Speaker 2: Washington state example, imagine this Washington state doing something smart.
- 8:31Speaker 2: If a hugely rich company wants to put a data
- 8:34Speaker 2: center in a community, put a good sized tax bite
- 8:38Speaker 2: on them. in order to pay for something so awesome
- 8:42Speaker 2: that the locals will be thankful that the thing is there.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Totally, totally agree.
- 8:46Speaker 3: And speaking of technology, let's give a shameless plug for
- 8:49Speaker 3: today's podcast because later today I want to talk about
- 8:53Speaker 3: this new autonomous driving technology.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Here we go.
- 8:56Speaker 3: I'm driving my kid's Tesla a lot. I think I'm
- 9:00Speaker 3: going to confiscate it from him. I'm telling you, this
- 9:02Speaker 3: full-service drive is absolutely a game-changer today. It is transformational.
- 9:07Speaker 3: You'll never want to drive conventionally again. It takes a
- 9:10Speaker 3: little getting used to, but once you're in, you settle in.
- 9:14Speaker 3: And the robo-taxis from Elon and the Waymo vehicles.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Cars of the future on today's M & M Extra.
- 9:21Speaker 1: They're here.
- 9:23Speaker 3: That future is here, and it's right now on M &
- 9:25Speaker 3: M Extra. Check it out today, noon Eastern, 11 Central,
- 9:29Speaker 3: live on YouTube. And then we go up on all
- 9:32Speaker 3: the podcast platforms, Spotify. And boy, I'm getting the numbers.
- 9:35Speaker 3: The podcast continues to grow. And we have something, Mark,
- 9:39Speaker 3: that is fun. And we have some advertisers, like on
- 9:42Speaker 3: all of our platforms, on the podcast. One of our
- 9:44Speaker 3: sponsors is Preborn. In fact, they're our title sponsor because
- 9:47Speaker 3: you and I love Preborn. In fact, as we get
- 9:49Speaker 3: to the one-year anniversary of Charlie's assassination, I keep thinking
- 9:53Speaker 3: of our friend Charlie Kirk, who loved Preborn and did
- 9:57Speaker 3: a lot of good for them. And you and I
- 9:59Speaker 3: are going to spend a lot of time on the
- 10:00Speaker 3: 10th of September. I think we're going to devote the podcast, actually,
- 10:03Speaker 3: to Charlie. The anniversary of his assassination. And I'm going
- 10:06Speaker 3: to devote my show on September 10th to Charlie's legacy
- 10:10Speaker 3: and life. Talk to people who knew him well. I
- 10:13Speaker 3: can't wait. But Preborn is a real important part of
- 10:16Speaker 3: the Eminem Extra podcast. And one of the calls to
- 10:21Speaker 3: action that we have for pre-born is that you can
- 10:23Speaker 3: provide ultrasounds to young women and girls who are thinking
- 10:28Speaker 3: about an abortion.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Because when they see that baby growing in them, they're
- 10:30Speaker 2: more than twice as likely to choose life. So we're
- 10:33Speaker 2: paying for, we're helping to finance the occasional ultrasound.
- 10:36Speaker 3: And a lot of donors put in like $ 140. Five
- 10:41Speaker 3: mothers will get a free ultrasound.
- 10:43Speaker 1: We love that. And it's just wonderful. 833-850-BABY.com.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Or go to preborn.com slash mmextra if you want to help,
- 10:50Speaker 3: preborn.com slash mmextra. But there's one big ask. If somebody
- 10:55Speaker 3: is willing to donate a big amount, it's $ 15, 000, that
- 10:59Speaker 3: buys an ultrasound machine that Preborn will use to save
- 11:04Speaker 3: lives for many years to come. Well, I got to
- 11:05Speaker 3: thinking about this. We're asking for one person, but why
- 11:08Speaker 3: ask for one? What if we bring back an oldie
- 11:11Speaker 3: but goodie, Mike and Mark hosting a lunch, a private
- 11:17Speaker 3: exclusive lunch in a private room. You're going to have
- 11:20Speaker 3: time with Mark Davis and Mike Gallagher at one of
- 11:23Speaker 3: our favorite restaurants in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Here's the appeal.
- 11:28Speaker 3: If you're willing to donate three, and we're going to
- 11:30Speaker 3: limit this to five people, five donors, so that we
- 11:33Speaker 3: can buy an ultrasound machine for pre-born.
- 11:35Speaker 1: But each donor can bring somebody. You can bring a guest.
- 11:38Speaker 1: You can bring a guest.
- 11:39Speaker 3: And I've got another great caveat real quick at the
- 11:41Speaker 3: end of this. $ 3, 000 if you're interested in a tax-deductible
- 11:45Speaker 3: donation to save lives through pre-born and have a private
- 11:48Speaker 3: exclusive lunch with Mark and Mike. Send an email right
- 11:52Speaker 3: now with your contact information to mike at mikeonline.com, and
- 11:56Speaker 3: we'll follow up with you. $ 3, 000. We'll take the first five.
- 11:58Speaker 3: Just five now. Very limited. First five. And after five,
- 12:01Speaker 3: it's gone. So you might want to jump on this quickly. Now,
- 12:04Speaker 3: here's another offer I got. It was mindful that this
- 12:06Speaker 3: is a national platform we reach.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Sure. What if somebody's listening to somebody else? One spot, $ 3, 000.
- 12:12Speaker 3: If you really want to go big and you want
- 12:14Speaker 3: to buy two spots for $ 6, 000 anywhere in America, I'll
- 12:18Speaker 3: cover your airfare to get you to and from Dallas-Fort Worth.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Boom. I'll cover your air.
- 12:24Speaker 3: So if you're interested in $ 6, 000 from anywhere in America
- 12:27Speaker 3: and you always wanted to see what it would be
- 12:28Speaker 3: like to hang out with the two of us goofballs
- 12:30Speaker 3: over lunch at one of our favorite spots, hey, the
- 12:34Speaker 3: email address is mike at mikeonline.com. $ 3, 000 that will get
- 12:38Speaker 3: you a seat at the table.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Come on, join us.
- 12:40Speaker 3: Mike at mikeonline.com for your contact information. And after today,
- 12:44Speaker 3: my friend, after the podcast, I'm going fishing. I'm going
- 12:48Speaker 3: to take a break.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Oh, man, I'm so glad. I'm so happy for you.
- 12:51Speaker 2: It's been a busy time. Get a little R &
- 12:53Speaker 2: R before we come back and post Labor Day, head
- 12:55Speaker 2: into the home stretch. So I can't wait to get
- 12:58Speaker 2: back with you in this space of the podcast space
- 13:01Speaker 2: right after Labor Day. So safe travels and thanks.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Thank you, my friend.
