Latest / On Air with Ryan Seacrest / Are You a Hugger or a Handshaker?
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: If you are not a hugger and you meet a
- 0:03Speaker 1: hugger like Tanya and you go in with a handshake,
- 0:05Speaker 1: that creates a very awkward collision.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I've had some awkward moments, but I will say
- 0:10Speaker 2: most of the time if people go in with the
- 0:11Speaker 2: hand and then they see me coming in for the hug,
- 0:13Speaker 2: they'll come in for the hug.
- 0:14Speaker 1: They'll change.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Well, Michaela, when you met all those guys on Blind
- 0:18Speaker 1: Isn't Love or Love Isn't Blind and narrowed it down
- 0:21Speaker 1: to Rusty, your choice, you had to meet and say
- 0:24Speaker 1: hi to all the guys at some point. Did you handshake, hug,
- 0:28Speaker 1: do the one cheek kiss?
- 0:31Speaker 3: Oh, so I went in for a hug, but one
- 0:33Speaker 3: of them went in for a handshake. So it was
- 0:35Speaker 3: kind of awkward, but I don't I don't know what
- 0:38Speaker 3: the right thing to do is anymore because I'm a hugger.
- 0:41Speaker 1: It really is, I think, individual dependent. I mean, I
- 0:44Speaker 1: think at work you just extend your hand. But then again,
- 0:48Speaker 1: at our work with artists and the kind of vibe
- 0:52Speaker 1: we have, a lot of people hug.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Right.
- 0:56Speaker 1: I mean, Mark, what do you do? I'm a handshaker
- 0:59Speaker 1: because I don't want to assume hug.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:02Speaker 1: It's weird as a male to assume hug, right?
- 1:04Speaker 2: But I feel like people don't like shaking hands anymore.
- 1:06Speaker 4: What about hugging other guys? Hugging other guys is okay,
- 1:09Speaker 4: but then you do that kind of like half hug,
- 1:11Speaker 4: that kind of smack on the back one time. Yeah,
- 1:14Speaker 4: I know, but I find that to be so contrived
- 1:17Speaker 4: and weird that we do that.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I think if you are a hugger, people can see
- 1:22Speaker 1: you coming. You go ahead and you keep that. But
- 1:24Speaker 1: if you want to have an absolute zero chance of
- 1:28Speaker 1: an awkward collision, just extend the hand. That would be
- 1:31Speaker 1: the best way to keep it clean and simple. You're
