- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: Hey friend, welcome back to Bible Tract Echoes.
- 0:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'm Mike McCurray, your host.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much for joining me once again today.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_01]: We have today the third installment from a full length long form podcast interview that I did on the Mike McCurray podcast not that long.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_01]: a go, and what I'd like you to do is that I'd like you to listen intently.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_01]: Because, but the Scott Nettoville, he was the man that I was interviewing.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_01]: This was not too long ago, and not long before he passed on to glory.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_01]: You see what the Scott went to heaven on April 18, 2026, I had the chance to talk to him.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_01]: His body was racked with cancer, what ultimately took his life.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_01]: I had the opportunity to talk to him about how he got into ministry and what God taught him through his time in ministry.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_01]: He spent 27 years in different assistant roles and helping men have gotten learning so much.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_01]: And then God put him in full-time evangelism, and he's going to tell us about that today.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to ask you to listen with your heart and your ears, but in that of Bill, it's a good man.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_01]: I want to tell you, there are some folks I might introduce you to on this broadcast.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_01]: Among them, I would count this man a friend worthy of an audience, worth you listening to.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_01]: I want to thank you in advance for your attentiveness when it jump right into this third episode with Brother Scott Netterville.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_02]: Really to be honest for the next 17 years?
- 1:38[SPEAKER_02]: I worked in several different ministries for several different pastors and what gained a lot of experience during that time.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_02]: just learning the ministry and during that time became full time and I really don't even remember the year that I became full time because I even when I was in Bible College my junior year in Bible
- 2:22[SPEAKER_02]: you know working in the ministry from there and again for 17 years had worked for other men some full-time some bio-locational and then 10 years pastored.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_02]: in Pasadena Texas, and then in 19 nos pardon me, and 2014 moved to Bourbon A and started Ambassador Babies.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, if we were back up a little bit to that 17 years that you had working for different men, of course we know men of God are men at best, and we all have a feet of clay, and so we're not putting any of those men on a pedestal whether they deserve it or not.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_01]: Talk to maybe a young man that might be listening to this recorded, this recording, about the importance of learning where you're at.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_01]: And soaking up everything you can, and God gave you the opportunity to take so many things you learned, and you probably either consciously or subconsciously.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_01]: those things to other young pastors while when God had you in a place for six weeks helping a man and you got to convey some of those things when you came along so I would talk to a young man, it might be listening right now, whether they're frustrated with whether at or they're thinking they know more than they do or whatever it may be.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure you've never struggled with that with a net of lever in your life but but in all sincerity, talk to us about the importance of learning and soaking up everything we can while where God has us.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_02]: You know, one of the things that I guess comes to mind when with where I am now, one of the things I had to learn early on was that when you're working for others especially, you're not the boss.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_02]: And you have to learn to follow the man of God's lead.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_02]: God has you in a position of being an assistant, or whether I've worked as an assistant pastor and worked as a youth pastor, as an associate pastor, and so have run bus ministries in over Sunday school, help start a Bible college in four worth local church there.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_02]: and for worse, and so I had learned and to be honest, it might be a struggle when you first start out.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_02]: Because you have so many ideas and especially you come away from Bible college with all these ideas of Boy, you know, this professor taught me that or this teacher taught me this and boy, that really worked well And this worked well and so you want to tell the new pastor what you know and how he needs to do it their way
- 5:35[SPEAKER_02]: And you learn real quick that that's not necessarily the way that he has in mind and that you have to learn to rain your own thoughts and then your own desires and to accomplish what his will is because you're not there as the I remember.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_02]: this one time I was working as an associate pastor when hired a new youth pastor and one of his first questions was well when do I have time to just sit down and work on preaching messages and
- 6:11[SPEAKER_02]: I remember the senior pastor laughed and said, you don't have a pulpit ministry here.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_02]: And so it was a, you know, it's, when you're working for others, you learn to, you learn that,
- 6:36[SPEAKER_02]: It's best to curb your own will and do your best to accomplish, find out what the will of the pastor is, how God's directing him, and then implement
- 6:54[SPEAKER_02]: how God's directing him.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_02]: I remember teaching in Bible College in a class one time.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_02]: I brought the pastor in that morning.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_02]: His, it was Brother Mickey Holler's, was our pastor, and is a small Bible college at his church.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_02]: And brought him in that morning, saturday minute chair.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_02]: Got a
- 7:22[SPEAKER_02]: I had him take his shoes off and I watched his feet, and I said, fellas, if you can't watch your pastor's feet, don't work for him.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_02]: Well, if you can't humble yourself enough, and I still believe that today.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_02]: I believe a lot of young men could learn well from that, to learn, to be able to humble yourself.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_02]: Y'all can't use you.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_02]: until you're willing to, and that's what it says.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_02]: Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_02]: And he'll lift you up.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_02]: And so you have to learn to humble yourself.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_02]: And put your desires in your will to the side, to accomplish maybe another man's will until God can,
- 8:16[SPEAKER_02]: mold you and put you where he wants you.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_02]: Even as a pastor, I know that in pastor and I just I learned that, you know, it's still not my will.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's that will be done.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_02]: There's nothing
- 8:43[SPEAKER_02]: We have to learn to follow the will of God and even in all of that even in those years I still to be honest
- 8:58[SPEAKER_02]: did not feel I was in the right place until we started Ambassador Baptist Ministries, and brother from the unknown, I have to be honest, I talked with brother Angel about this.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_02]: I am exactly where God wants me, have been since
- 9:22[SPEAKER_02]: April of 2014, it's when we started Ambassador Baptist Ministries, I've never been happier in the ministry, never been more excited for other ministries in and just no one what God's will is being able to go out and do the will of God and to be honest.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_02]: But this is going to almost sound maybe aired in our songs, but not even having to think about it, just knowing what was going to put my heart and how to learn how to help through those 27 years, I had learned how to help.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_02]: And that's all ministry is, it's help.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_02]: And that's what,
- 10:15[SPEAKER_02]: Ambassador Baptist ministry is, it's a helps ministry.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_02]: And that was in my heart from day one to just, I wanted to help struggling pastors because there were so many out there that were struggling that some had been beat up.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_02]: Some had been just discouraged by circumstances.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_02]: some even discouraged by, you know, or can I say this discouraged by placement?
- 10:56[SPEAKER_02]: Because they go to a new place.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_02]: and it's different, people are different.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder if you're listening right now and you are a little discouraged because of the placement where God has you.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you're not a church planter, maybe you're not a pastor, but maybe where the geography, the location, location, location, where God has placed you is just a bit discouraging.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna ask you to pause, I'm gonna ask you to ponder.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: We're brother Nedaville shared with us here a moment ago.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't encourage you.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe just maybe you can be an encouragement to someone else.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you don't know how much someone else needs and encouraging word.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe they're down in the dumps just a little bit.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_01]: And you can be a Scott Nedaville to them.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: You can come alongside and just slap them on the back and say, hey, I love you, brother.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_01]: Love you, sister.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_01]: That's really what Brother Nattoville did.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_01]: He was a helper.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_01]: He was a servant.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: He was an encouragement.
