- 0:04Speaker 1: You download the crazyes sh did you get you something
- 0:06Speaker 1: to drink? And you get ready? Talk from college football
- 0:08Speaker 1: with market Scottie Brother, How the hell are you? I
- 0:10Speaker 1: can see you're at home today.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Man, I'm good. My bulldogs finally broke through. Man, it
- 0:15Speaker 2: was ugly. I didn't even watch it. I mailed it in.
- 0:17Speaker 2: We got down two touchdowns. I'm like, here it goes again.
- 0:20Speaker 2: I'm done. I'm out. I went to a friend's house.
- 0:23Speaker 2: They had the Tech game on. They're like, do you
- 0:24Speaker 2: want to switch them? Like, now we're getting our ass kicked?
- 0:27Speaker 2: And so I pull out my phone to see the score.
- 0:29Speaker 2: I look at that. I'm like, we want She goes what.
- 0:32Speaker 2: I'm like, yeah, we want. So I may try that
- 0:35Speaker 2: on Saturday with the Georgia Bulldogs. We get down, just
- 0:37Speaker 2: quit watching, maybe we'll win.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Watch Scott're gonna trust some heroin. Are gonna watch the
- 0:42Speaker 1: Bulldog game? Let's try heroin. It seems like that would
- 0:45Speaker 1: be more entertaining currently watching the Bulldogs. But college football, baby.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Got a great weekend last weekend? What a I mean?
- 0:53Speaker 2: What if college football is getting hey? It is it
- 0:59Speaker 2: is a lot of fun because anybody can beat anybody.
- 1:02Speaker 2: These teams just aren't as good as they've been. There's
- 1:05Speaker 2: not nearly as much depth on any team. And I'm
- 1:09Speaker 2: gonna tell you kudos to the Ryan Day because I
- 1:12Speaker 2: don't know how he's getting that much talent to stay
- 1:17Speaker 2: and develop and grow. They're still rolling it out like
- 1:21Speaker 2: it's twenty nineteen. I mean, it is wild to me
- 1:26Speaker 2: the job they're doing, because they do it every week.
- 1:29Speaker 2: They just heavy hands you. They didn't play good last week.
- 1:32Speaker 1: You know, we could shoe polo. She's usually going his
- 1:35Speaker 1: hair and beard, and it just kids just gravitate to it.
- 1:38Speaker 1: It's just it's dark as can possibly be, and they're like, coach,
- 1:41Speaker 1: she got a Halloween go man.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Sometimes love. I love that he got his wife to
- 1:46Speaker 2: say he doesn't die is beard. All you're doing is
- 1:48Speaker 2: mad and her a liar to that's not cool. Don't
- 1:51Speaker 2: do that. Yes, he's gonna come before you, but we
- 1:55Speaker 2: all know it's not true. No man, listen cartoon.
- 2:00Speaker 1: I listened to a pretty good podcast with Cole Kublick.
- 2:02Speaker 1: He does a good job.
- 2:03Speaker 2: I don't gat job.
- 2:05Speaker 1: And he was talking about you know, coaches and all
- 2:07Speaker 1: these things and what it's going to take. And he said,
- 2:10Speaker 1: you know, we used to talk about him being a
- 2:11Speaker 1: good fit, and he goes, I don't think that's the
- 2:13Speaker 1: case anymore. It's the wrong term. And you're looking forward,
- 2:15Speaker 1: he said. He goes, the coaches that are going to
- 2:17Speaker 1: be successful in today's college football have to be relatable,
- 2:21Speaker 1: and he said the most relatable coach in college currently
- 2:24Speaker 1: at its top is Ryan Day. He said, players love him.
- 2:28Speaker 1: He said, coaches want to coach for him. He said,
- 2:30Speaker 1: he knows how to work with the alumni, he knows
- 2:32Speaker 1: how to work with the administration, and he just he
- 2:35Speaker 1: understands the position and that he's in in that job.
- 2:38Speaker 1: And I thought that was interesting.
- 2:40Speaker 2: I think that is a I think that's a fabulous
- 2:43Speaker 2: example of that. And I will tell you and certainly
- 2:47Speaker 2: not equating the two, but because they're not comparable, but
- 2:51Speaker 2: I do think that's a trait. Jeff Levy's got man,
- 2:53Speaker 2: He's really likable. I mean he I mean wearing cowboy boots.
- 2:57Speaker 2: He's got kids in school and art boy. You see
- 3:00Speaker 2: him all around town. But yet he can go hobnob.
- 3:04Speaker 2: I mean all the wealthy boosters love him. I mean,
- 3:07Speaker 2: it's just in obviously, you know, the athletic department. People
- 3:10Speaker 2: really like him, so it is a you know, I
- 3:13Speaker 2: think it is a very big deal to be relatable
- 3:16Speaker 2: because you've got to get guys out of the portal fast.
- 3:19Speaker 2: And I think that's one of the reasons Kiffen's having
- 3:21Speaker 2: a huge success is, you know, it's a transactional deal.
- 3:26Speaker 2: What are you going to get me? And yet the
- 3:29Speaker 2: kit Yet Kiffin is likable, I mean, and the kids
- 3:32Speaker 2: love him.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Yeah. And I remember a couple of years ago when
- 3:36Speaker 1: they had a bunch of portal guys come in and
- 3:38Speaker 1: you were talking about how's the chemistry and the locker
- 3:40Speaker 1: going to work. Of course, nobody knew at the time
- 3:42Speaker 1: how the portal was going to affect locker rooms. Uh.
- 3:45Speaker 1: But to your point, I think kiff instead a phenomenal
- 3:48Speaker 1: job of building a culture in that program that people
- 3:52Speaker 1: want to be there. I mean, no use, look at
- 3:55Speaker 1: you look at the relationship that these kids have with him,
- 3:57Speaker 1: and they they they may transfer in there, but very
- 4:00Speaker 1: few of them are transferring out, you know. And you've
- 4:02Speaker 1: got kids that are sitting on the bench waiting to play,
- 4:04Speaker 1: which you're not seeing. And one of the things I'll
- 4:07Speaker 1: say about this, and we're going to get to this
- 4:08Speaker 1: game this week is the biggest game in the country.
- 4:10Speaker 1: But you know, Joey McGuire gets a lot of flak
- 4:13Speaker 1: for being a high school coach, and he was Mike
- 4:15Speaker 1: you know, Matt Ruhle hired him from a high school
- 4:17Speaker 1: in Texas when he came down and took the Baylor
- 4:19Speaker 1: job because he needed a connection to the state. But
- 4:21Speaker 1: you listen to people talk now, and you listen to
- 4:23Speaker 1: him talking, and I think the reason there's working at
- 4:26Speaker 1: Tech with this you know, mercenary roster that they've got
- 4:30Speaker 1: that everybody wants to talk about is the fact that
- 4:32Speaker 1: McGuire's you know, he's he's got a culture there that
- 4:35Speaker 1: those guys want to play together. And he talked about
- 4:37Speaker 1: it in a podcast I heard this summer where he said,
- 4:40Speaker 1: in all the places I've been, he goes, this isn't
- 4:41Speaker 1: coach talk. He goes, We've got the culture in this
- 4:44Speaker 1: locker room like I've never seen before. He goes, these
- 4:46Speaker 1: guys understand the goal. He goes, they understand what be
- 4:49Speaker 1: a teammate works. And you're seeing that because otherwise you wouldn't,
- 4:53Speaker 1: you'd have problems on that and the smartest thing he
- 4:55Speaker 1: probably did was not trying to bring in a new quarterback.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Whether Baron Morton's the guy, he knew he was a
- 5:01Speaker 1: leader in that locker room, and they're going to roll
- 5:03Speaker 1: with him. And now you're seeing the benefits of it.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Is they you know, had the best, biggest game they've
- 5:08Speaker 1: had in Luby in nearly twenty years.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Yeah, just signed the number one high school quarter or
- 5:12Speaker 2: committed the number one high school quarterback in the country.
- 5:14Speaker 2: So you know, and you don't you don't see that
- 5:16Speaker 2: happening out at Tech very much. And oh, by the way,
- 5:18Speaker 2: they get a really good freshman who just got injured.
- 5:22Speaker 2: So yeah, text text doing some good things. It is
- 5:24Speaker 2: about being relatable with these kids. It's a different time.
- 5:27Speaker 2: You can't discipline, you can't grind them. What's going to
- 5:30Speaker 2: be interesting to me is when does the NFL really
- 5:34Speaker 2: buy into we got to change the college model, because
- 5:37Speaker 2: that's when this all gets fixed. And I don't think
- 5:41Speaker 2: the NFL is far from there. They're not getting nearly
- 5:43Speaker 2: as many NFL ready players as they used to get
- 5:47Speaker 2: because these kids aren't being developed. They're not They just
- 5:50Speaker 2: hit the road to go play and tea to get
- 5:53Speaker 2: on the depth chart, and hard work matters.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Hard work works to your point and where this is
- 6:00Speaker 1: NFL podcast. But look what happened this week at the
- 6:03Speaker 1: trade deadline. You know, you've got teams that are training
- 6:06Speaker 1: first round draft picks to get guys that are two
- 6:09Speaker 1: and three years in because they know they're developed. And
- 6:12Speaker 1: it's no different than you hear these guys talking about
- 6:14Speaker 1: if we can go get a kid from Toledo and
- 6:17Speaker 1: get him down here to Georgia. You know, we don't
- 6:19Speaker 1: have to worry about he's already learned how to go
- 6:20Speaker 1: to college. He's already learned how to make the roster.
- 6:22Speaker 1: We know what he's doing. And so they know how
- 6:24Speaker 1: hard it is to draft somebody and develop them and
- 6:27Speaker 1: make them any good. It's easier just to go get
- 6:28Speaker 1: a defensive tackle that you know can play and send
- 6:31Speaker 1: the first round pickoff because you may. I mean, look
- 6:33Speaker 1: how many first round picks people with on oh times.
- 6:38Speaker 1: So I you know, it's it's interesting how football is
- 6:41Speaker 1: a very copycat game, and so no, anyway, it's it's
- 6:44Speaker 1: and I'm excited. So this week we get college game.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Dan love it, Scottie, I'm gonna be there. I don't
- 6:48Speaker 1: know if I'm gonna make it the game day or not,
- 6:50Speaker 1: but I'll be interested to see if the storylines come about.
- 6:54Speaker 1: You've got the BYU Texas Tech Mike Leach connection, you
- 6:59Speaker 1: know Leech with to be where you was a grad
- 7:00Speaker 1: assistant there, and I wonder if they're gonna tell some
- 7:03Speaker 1: stories about that. Of course, the last time they had
- 7:05Speaker 1: game day there was seventeen years ago Halloween when Michael
- 7:10Speaker 1: Crabtree tiptoed down the sidelines.
- 7:14Speaker 2: A great story about that game. It's just a second.
- 7:17Speaker 2: So the so Crabtree's kid is evidently going to the
- 7:21Speaker 2: same school as my son. He's young. It's private school,
- 7:25Speaker 2: so it's all drades and he uh, his wife was
- 7:28Speaker 2: at an introductory press conference. My wife comes in and goes,
- 7:32Speaker 2: You're not gonna believe this, but his kid is at
- 7:34Speaker 2: our school. And I was like really, She was like yeah,
- 7:37Speaker 2: she goes she was introducing himself and was like, if
- 7:39Speaker 2: there's any tech fans you may remember my husband blah
- 7:41Speaker 2: blah blah blah, and my wife goes. All I could
- 7:44Speaker 2: think about was I dreamed it.
- 7:47Speaker 1: If you remember it, I dreamed it in my mind.
- 7:50Speaker 2: When they're interviewing him on this that was in my mind.
- 7:53Speaker 1: I dreamed it about it.
- 7:55Speaker 2: That's all Michael Crabtree will ever be to me, regardless
- 7:58Speaker 2: of that he was a good NFL player. Take all
- 8:01Speaker 2: that out. That's the funniest interview I've ever seen anybody do.
- 8:06Speaker 2: And if I meet the guy, that's exactly what I'm
- 8:08Speaker 2: gonna tell him. You should just tell your wife to
- 8:10Speaker 2: say I dreamed it.
- 8:12Speaker 1: I dreamed it in my mind, and I was like,
- 8:14Speaker 1: where else are you gonna dream things? But anyway, uh yeah,
- 8:18Speaker 1: it's gonna be a big time in loving man. College
- 8:20Speaker 1: football is interesting. The TV show that is the college
- 8:23Speaker 1: football playoff role this week. To be honest with you,
- 8:25Speaker 1: I haven't looked at it because it has no bearing
- 8:28Speaker 1: on anything I'm doing. I'm still looking at how we're
- 8:31Speaker 1: going to try to make money each and every week.
- 8:33Speaker 1: I'm betting I am waiting for the college coach that
- 8:36Speaker 1: comes out with the press conference to say I am here,
- 8:40Speaker 1: We're ready, We're gonna win the Natty. And if you're wondering,
- 8:43Speaker 1: we're gonna go ten and two every year ats and
- 8:47Speaker 1: just rock and roll. Baby.
- 8:48Speaker 2: That's your guy, your guest.
- 8:51Speaker 1: If you take the head coaching job at UNLV and
- 8:53Speaker 1: you came out in the press conference and said you
- 8:55Speaker 1: played to cover the spread every single week. I mean,
- 8:58Speaker 1: it would go so viral, it would be so.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Oh, you get so much attention. It'd be great, and
- 9:03Speaker 2: the college football people would be ready to run you
- 9:06Speaker 2: out of dodge. Although it is great that that ESPN
- 9:09Speaker 2: and those people are talking about the lines now because
- 9:13Speaker 2: it's always been relevant and people have always cared. And
- 9:16Speaker 2: Brent Musburger used to catch out when he would reference
- 9:18Speaker 2: it and stuff, and that was ridiculous because people care.
- 9:22Speaker 2: I believe if you're trying to set a great college
- 9:24Speaker 2: football environment, if your entertainment area for your boosters and
- 9:29Speaker 2: for especially young people does not include a gigantic area
- 9:34Speaker 2: where they can go watch games and catch up on
- 9:37Speaker 2: what's going on with the games they bet on and
- 9:40Speaker 2: what's going on around college football, you're making a complete
- 9:43Speaker 2: mistake for your atmosphere that people care, that's the bottom line.
- 9:49Speaker 2: And there are probably seventy percent of the people in
- 9:52Speaker 2: that stadium under sixty five or gambling on something that weekend,
- 10:00Speaker 2: and you just have to you just have to accept it,
- 10:02Speaker 2: especially if you're in a gambling state. So I just
- 10:05Speaker 2: think it's stupid that people don't talk about it more.
- 10:08Speaker 2: But that'll be a uh that's it would be fabulous
- 10:12Speaker 2: if a coach just came out, I'm gonna go ten
- 10:14Speaker 2: and two against the spread. We maybe eight and four,
- 10:16Speaker 2: we're gonna be ten and two ats that'd be fabulous.
- 10:20Speaker 1: You go to media days, the big you're out there
- 10:22Speaker 1: at CIRCA from the Mountain West Media Days, and you're
- 10:24Speaker 1: Timmy Chang. We're probably gonna go seven and seven and
- 10:28Speaker 1: five this season, but I think ten and two against
- 10:30Speaker 1: the spread. Look at it where we're at ten and
- 10:31Speaker 1: two against the numbers.
- 10:33Speaker 2: Light where our schedule falls. Catch some teams on sandwiches.
- 10:38Speaker 1: We got a total look ahead game against Boise State
- 10:41Speaker 1: Week eight. They're gonna look right past us, linkup to
- 10:43Speaker 1: the island. It would be awesome. It would be I
- 10:47Speaker 1: feel like I'm gonna I'm gonna dream that in my
- 10:49Speaker 1: mind tonight, Scott, I'm gonna dream that in my mind. Anyway,
- 10:52Speaker 1: let's get started, baby college football. I think we're a
- 10:55Speaker 1: week eleven. We wait for it all season long. The
- 10:58Speaker 1: only thing I gotta say is and Google, I don't
- 11:01Speaker 1: care who's forgot the bigger dick. Get college football back
- 11:05Speaker 1: on TV. The fact that I had to figure out
- 11:07Speaker 1: how to watch college football last week on the ESPN
- 11:10Speaker 1: app just pissed me off. But here we are, man,
- 11:13Speaker 1: it is. We're right here getting the nut cutting time,
- 11:15Speaker 1: starting to get things rolling. Thursday night. We did have
- 11:19Speaker 1: machin this week.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Who dudeo and the Max Scotti d This week. I
- 11:24Speaker 2: got me a little Ohio and got me a little Toledo.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Last night.
- 11:28Speaker 1: I was on the under in the Miami and Ohio
- 11:30Speaker 1: game in that one, and I was gonna take the
- 11:32Speaker 1: Toledo game, and I just couldn't get interested in it,
- 11:34Speaker 1: so I couldn't get there. But anyway, Thursday night, UTSA
- 11:39Speaker 1: will be traveling down to South Florida. Thirteen and a
- 11:42Speaker 1: half the line, sixty seven and a half the number.
- 11:46Speaker 1: This South Florida team is still in the running, trying
- 11:48Speaker 1: to get a chance to get the overall conference championship
- 11:52Speaker 1: and hoping to get the G five bid when it
- 11:54Speaker 1: rolls in here. I don't really have a play in
- 11:56Speaker 1: this game, but I will say this much. If you
- 11:59Speaker 1: think you're gonna that up for G five team, you've
- 12:02Speaker 1: got to be looking at South Florida. I would say
- 12:04Speaker 1: you got to be looking at Memphis, and you've got
- 12:06Speaker 1: to be looking at JMU and you could probably cut
- 12:09Speaker 1: a unit up three ways and put you know, part
- 12:12Speaker 1: of it on each one of these teams to win
- 12:14Speaker 1: the baddie knowing they're not gonna win, but if they
- 12:17Speaker 1: get in the tournament, you're gonna have a massive hedge opportunity.
- 12:20Speaker 1: We would because none of these G five teams are
- 12:22Speaker 1: gonna be a powerful whoever the Power five keep is
- 12:25Speaker 1: that they match up against. You got any thoughts on.
- 12:27Speaker 2: That, No, I agree with it. If that's the way
- 12:29Speaker 2: you're gonna do it, they definitely try to head. That's
- 12:32Speaker 2: I mean, that's the deal, sage, you're bet out. I
- 12:33Speaker 2: saw some guy who had this huge number and it
- 12:36Speaker 2: was like he was gonna win forty six thousand dollars.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Would you let it ride or not? And I was like, well, yeah,
- 12:41Speaker 2: if you're a dumb ass, you will or you'll go
- 12:43Speaker 2: hedge for you know, eighteen grand or twenty five grand
- 12:46Speaker 2: or whatever, how very much you want to win and
- 12:49Speaker 2: and and hedge the opposite way and get paid. I mean,
- 12:53Speaker 2: I was like, this is the dumbest thing ever. And
- 12:55Speaker 2: it was like a money line bet. I'm like, why
- 12:58Speaker 2: would you do that. I was like, it was it
- 13:01Speaker 2: was the dumbest thing ever. I'm like, this isn't even
- 13:03Speaker 2: a conversation. It's called hedge. Like, go take the opposite
- 13:06Speaker 2: side of it and get paid.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Well, it's got There's a reason hedge fund managers live
- 13:11Speaker 1: in big houses and gamblers probably have single better apartments.
- 13:15Speaker 1: That's right, you're not always thinking that way. I'm looking
- 13:18Speaker 1: at this one. I lean to the over. I don't
- 13:20Speaker 1: have a play here. Utsa fun to watch. They can
- 13:24Speaker 1: get it right. Last week big within Yeah we were
- 13:27Speaker 1: on it. Uh they play fast fast fast, man fast
- 13:30Speaker 1: fast fast, and so I would lean to the over
- 13:32Speaker 1: in this one. But I don't have a necessary play here.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I think what this feels like such a big
- 13:37Speaker 2: number that you're like, man, really, so it makes me
- 13:41Speaker 2: wonder if South Florida gonna be able to get it done.
- 13:43Speaker 2: I do believe they're a more talented team. But I
- 13:46Speaker 2: agree with you. I'm on pass on this game.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Georgia Southern Happy State. I got nothing here is the
- 13:52Speaker 1: other Thursday night game. I just a going a hard
- 13:55Speaker 1: pass here. But Appy State seems to have gotten a
- 13:58Speaker 1: little bit better. But still this program is nowhere near
- 14:01Speaker 1: what it needs to.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Be nowhere, nowhere near where it needs to be and
- 14:04Speaker 2: nowhere near where it's been. So agree with you pass
- 14:07Speaker 2: on that. I honestly, most of these week week games,
- 14:10Speaker 2: I'm not a huge fan of them.
- 14:12Speaker 1: I kind of like the Memphis game. Memphis laying three
- 14:16Speaker 1: and a half against two Lane. In this one, I
- 14:18Speaker 1: think Memphis has got a path. This is a really
- 14:20Speaker 1: good team. Now you are going to start hearing the
- 14:23Speaker 1: rumors of Ryan Silverfield getting picked up is a possible
- 14:26Speaker 1: choice to get on.
- 14:27Speaker 2: There by the West coach is gone next year.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I totally agree with you. And tou Lane
- 14:33Speaker 1: has kind of slipped a little bit. Their whole offense
- 14:36Speaker 1: is predicated on the way the Retz laugh can get
- 14:37Speaker 1: it done. But the other weird thing about this game's
- 14:40Speaker 1: kind it's in Memphis, but that kick off until nine
- 14:42Speaker 1: o'clock Eastern time. That's a super late start for these guys.
- 14:46Speaker 1: But I would lean Memphis minus three and a half
- 14:49Speaker 1: and the next game we've got headed out West USC
- 14:52Speaker 1: is laying fourteen and a half against Northwestern. I think
- 14:54Speaker 1: you're with me on this. I'm on the Lincoln Rally trip.
- 14:57Speaker 2: I do like this.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Yeah, I take USC here. USC's got one of the
- 15:01Speaker 1: most explosive offenses in the country. Its team has completely
- 15:04Speaker 1: outperformed what I thought. I thought they were gonna be good.
- 15:06Speaker 1: They're actually better than what I thought. The defense is
- 15:09Speaker 1: stepped up in places. I know they're giving up twenty
- 15:11Speaker 1: two points a game. But this is a good team.
- 15:14Speaker 1: I would buy the hook get you under fourteen. Northwestern's
- 15:16Speaker 1: not pretty good.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Yeah, look, Northwestern is exactly who I thought they would be.
- 15:21Speaker 2: They're better. I said on a preseason podcast that they
- 15:25Speaker 2: were one of my surprise teams in the Big Ten.
- 15:27Speaker 2: They're gonna get Bowl eligible, but it ain't gonna be
- 15:29Speaker 2: Friday night. I think they're gonna get rolled up. This
- 15:32Speaker 2: is a late game, late body clock, long travel. I
- 15:37Speaker 2: just think sees a touch too explosive unless they give
- 15:41Speaker 2: up back door and the differences. I don't think his
- 15:43Speaker 2: team's explosive enough to throw it down the field like
- 15:46Speaker 2: Michigan State was trying to do to get that back
- 15:48Speaker 2: door cover on us a couple of weeks ago. I
- 15:50Speaker 2: think USC wins this game. I came winning handily. I
- 15:53Speaker 2: think this I think this game might get might get
- 15:55Speaker 2: a little ugly.
- 15:57Speaker 1: I agree with you give it to me, usc minus
- 15:59Speaker 1: fourteen next one, I want to go to scott West Point.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Let's go to Temple plus six and a half. I'm
- 16:04Speaker 1: going to buy the hook here against Army. Temple's played
- 16:07Speaker 1: this wishbone offense. Temple head coach at Temple was at
- 16:10Speaker 1: Sam Houston State for years, did really well. Left that job.
- 16:14Speaker 1: He's done a hell of a good job his first
- 16:16Speaker 1: year at Temple. They're five and four straight up in
- 16:18Speaker 1: six and three against the number, and where we are
- 16:21Speaker 1: in the coaching carousel this year, I think he's actually
- 16:24Speaker 1: put himself in position to get a bigger job leaving Temple.
- 16:28Speaker 1: The Army to me is underperformed all season long. They
- 16:31Speaker 1: still are running an archaic offense. Last week they played
- 16:34Speaker 1: the worst defense they're going to play in air Force.
- 16:38Speaker 1: An air force pretty much shut them down and they
- 16:41Speaker 1: needed a field goal to win this game. At the end,
- 16:43Speaker 1: I think Temple's a live dog here. You're getting six
- 16:46Speaker 1: and a half. I'll buy the hook up to seven.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Give me the owls baby plus seven on a Saturday morning.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Hey, you know what I can get behind this game.
- 16:54Speaker 2: I do think Temple's a pretty good team that they've
- 16:58Speaker 2: had some chance that there were even people to talking
- 17:00Speaker 2: about of being able to cover against Oklahoma. We're not
- 17:03Speaker 2: there and that was there. I never could get on
- 17:06Speaker 2: board with that. But you had some big people talking
- 17:08Speaker 2: about that cover now here. I think they got a
- 17:10Speaker 2: chance to get this deal done. You're getting six and
- 17:14Speaker 2: a half. There's not that much spread between these two teams.
- 17:17Speaker 2: I ain't Temples, A live dog can't suit.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm completely done with you this next game. I
- 17:25Speaker 1: got on the boardscal We're here. You got a little
- 17:29Speaker 1: JMU Marshall. This is an interesting spot. This Marshall team,
- 17:32Speaker 1: since they switched quarterbacks, is actually undefeated. They're four and four.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Kind of a sleepy spot for JMU, who is spray
- 17:41Speaker 1: training themselves through the sunbelt of seven and one. Chesney,
- 17:45Speaker 1: the head coach at AT James Madison, obviously is leaving
- 17:48Speaker 1: at the end of the season.
- 17:49Speaker 2: If he is an athletic directors need to be fired.
- 17:53Speaker 1: He's done a helephant jobbing. And I mean he's seventy
- 17:56Speaker 1: one man and their only loss was to Louisville and
- 17:59Speaker 1: they were in that game all through the first half.
- 18:02Speaker 1: I had some turnovers in the second half that cost him.
- 18:04Speaker 1: But I don't know if I want to lay thirteen
- 18:06Speaker 1: and a half on the road in Huntington here, But
- 18:09Speaker 1: I'm interested to watch this game. I do think jam
- 18:11Speaker 1: you probably in my opinion, this is the G five
- 18:15Speaker 1: team that should get in the tournament. But I don't
- 18:17Speaker 1: know if I want to lay thirteen and a half
- 18:18Speaker 1: with them on the road this week.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Yeah, this feels like a touch too much on the road.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Marshall is playing better. But man, every time I doubt
- 18:27Speaker 2: James Madison, it feels like they go out and would
- 18:29Speaker 2: hit somebody. So take that as it will as a listener.
- 18:35Speaker 2: So I'm a little every time I've been unsure on
- 18:38Speaker 2: these guys, it's like they go laywood on somebody. So
- 18:42Speaker 2: just keep that, just keep that mind as well.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Let's start about a game that I guarantee you at
- 18:47Speaker 1: the beginning of the season nobody thought was going to
- 18:50Speaker 1: be a game nobody'd be watching Saturday night. Florida State's
- 18:53Speaker 1: traveling too Clemson. Florida State's getting two and a half
- 18:57Speaker 1: over under fifty six and a half. Florida State's for Castellanos,
- 19:01Speaker 1: the quarterback, came back last week. They looked really good.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Clemson bad, really bad pass interference call at the end
- 19:09Speaker 1: of the game last week.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Disagree with they're all showing it before they threw the flag.
- 19:14Speaker 2: When he's going he's holding him the whole way down
- 19:16Speaker 2: the field, and then he tries to cut and the
- 19:18Speaker 2: kid keeps holding him and he shoves him, and everybody
- 19:20Speaker 2: shows the shove. Nobody shows what they actually called. It
- 19:23Speaker 2: was passing Afferance well booked. Could not disagree more on
- 19:28Speaker 2: that call. If you watch it. I called it live
- 19:30Speaker 2: during the game. I told you I was passing a
- 19:32Speaker 2: Ferarance right in the middlettle field, and then they throw
- 19:34Speaker 2: the flag. I couldn't disagree more, but we digress. Go
- 19:38Speaker 2: ahead anyway.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Where you look at this one, Dabo is a mess
- 19:43Speaker 1: and you gonna start thinking, now are they gonna fire
- 19:45Speaker 1: his ass? But I don't know what's going to go
- 19:47Speaker 1: on there. But you've got Clemson minus three minus two
- 19:50Speaker 1: and a half. I like Florida State, and give me
- 19:52Speaker 1: two and a half.
- 19:54Speaker 2: I like Florida State too. Look, they had they had
- 19:56Speaker 2: a lot of issues. This defense is kind of a
- 19:59Speaker 2: man and hell, it ain't kind of a mess. It
- 20:02Speaker 2: is a mess, and I don't think anybody saw that coming.
- 20:07Speaker 2: And I just think Florida State's gonna be able to
- 20:09Speaker 2: get it going. They had all kinds of troubles with
- 20:11Speaker 2: mens last week. They had that. Look, they had a
- 20:14Speaker 2: lot of trouble with Virginia. They've had they are not
- 20:18Speaker 2: not Virginia. All the kid that ran the ball. Oh
- 20:22Speaker 2: what am I doing? I'm gonna bring dead earlier in
- 20:25Speaker 2: the year. And I just think an athletic quarterback is
- 20:28Speaker 2: gonna give them trouble. So I think Castellanos is gonna
- 20:31Speaker 2: be able to get into space extend some plays. I
- 20:35Speaker 2: just do not have confidence in this, in this Clemson defense. Uh,
- 20:39Speaker 2: when it's a team that can be multiple and this
- 20:41Speaker 2: is a rivalry, I mean, this is a this is
- 20:43Speaker 2: a much bigger gay rivalry. And and and people are
- 20:47Speaker 2: gonna get you know people, they're gonna this is gonna
- 20:49Speaker 2: be an intense football game. I think Florida State's got
- 20:52Speaker 2: a chance to win this ball game outright, like them
- 20:55Speaker 2: as a as a live dog.
- 20:57Speaker 1: Give me some, Give me some baby. Uh. If you're
- 21:00Speaker 1: into laying big numbers, Miami as at home minus twenty
- 21:03Speaker 1: eight and a half against Syracuse. If you have not
- 21:06Speaker 1: watched Syracuse this year, do yourself a favor and do
- 21:09Speaker 1: not watch them. Last week they started a kid at
- 21:12Speaker 1: quarterback that was a little lacross team last year who
- 21:15Speaker 1: that offense looks bad. I think Miami could get their
- 21:19Speaker 1: mad on and absolutely demolish Syracuse Saturday afternoon. I haven't
- 21:23Speaker 1: played it yet, but if you're going to lay a
- 21:25Speaker 1: big number, and you'd like to lay big numbers, I
- 21:27Speaker 1: would lay a Miami here.
- 21:29Speaker 2: Well, I think my you know, look, at the end
- 21:31Speaker 2: of the day, Miami is, you know, a total mystery.
- 21:37Speaker 2: He can figure out how to blow a good season
- 21:41Speaker 2: up more than any coach I've ever seen, and if
- 21:46Speaker 2: they lose another game or two, they may be talking
- 21:50Speaker 2: about firing him. I mean, and at some point an
- 21:54Speaker 2: athletic directly got to be disciplined in this deal, because man,
- 21:57Speaker 2: there ain't enough head coaches to go around. You talk
- 22:00Speaker 2: about there's some mediocre coaches about to get paid simply
- 22:04Speaker 2: because of all the job openings, and if anybody wants
- 22:07Speaker 2: to keep them, they're going to get a pay raise.
- 22:09Speaker 2: So I agree with you. I think this feels like
- 22:12Speaker 2: Miami should wood shed these guys.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Sou Indiana traveling to Penn State, everybody thought this would
- 22:20Speaker 1: probably be a big game, but now Penn State is
- 22:22Speaker 1: three and five, one and seven. They got the dead
- 22:25Speaker 1: cat bounce one week after they let James Franklin go pass.
- 22:29Speaker 1: This Penn State team has looked rough. Drew Eilers is out,
- 22:34Speaker 1: You've got a true freshman that's playing quarterback. Pretty much
- 22:37Speaker 1: their entire offense is key Tron Allen at this point,
- 22:40Speaker 1: and I think they're going to run into an absolute
- 22:42Speaker 1: wagon when Indiana comes to town Saturday morning. Indiana sninding
- 22:46Speaker 1: oh straight up the six and three against the numbers.
- 22:48Speaker 1: They're only giving up ten points a game on a defense,
- 22:51Speaker 1: but they're scoring forty six. Signetti, he doesn't care. Man,
- 22:55Speaker 1: this is the biggest job this guy's gonna get. He
- 22:57Speaker 1: just got paid. I think he likes to blow people out.
- 23:00Speaker 1: He is not there to make friends, trust me. And
- 23:03Speaker 1: he is recruiting every single one of these rosters he's
- 23:06Speaker 1: played against, and he's said, these kids want to play
- 23:09Speaker 1: for him. I am laying fourteen and a half with Indiana.
- 23:12Speaker 1: I think Penn State could hang around a little bit,
- 23:14Speaker 1: but I think they're going to boat race these guys
- 23:16Speaker 1: on it said and done.
- 23:17Speaker 2: I think Indiana puts puts wood to these guys. I
- 23:21Speaker 2: just I think they're going to crush these guys having
- 23:24Speaker 2: already gone to Oregon and one. They're used to this environment.
- 23:27Speaker 2: This is not going to be the environment it would
- 23:29Speaker 2: have been if this is a one loss or a
- 23:31Speaker 2: two loss team. Even these dudes are oh and five
- 23:34Speaker 2: in the Big Ten. Oh five, I mean, who saw
- 23:39Speaker 2: that coming? And look, I don't mean this bad like
- 23:43Speaker 2: the Big Ten's that good. They're good at the top.
- 23:46Speaker 2: The bottom half of that conference sucks. I mean, I mean,
- 23:49Speaker 2: what have they got? Fourteen doesn't want a game? Yes,
- 23:53Speaker 2: I mean it's all I mean, it's bad at the
- 23:55Speaker 2: bottom of the league. So I think Indiana puts I
- 23:58Speaker 2: think Indiana puts wood here. Much like I said on
- 24:00Speaker 2: heavy Hands last week, I knew. I knew Penn State
- 24:03Speaker 2: was gonna play with pride. Those kids have got too much,
- 24:06Speaker 2: too much on the line. If not gone to Ohio
- 24:08Speaker 2: State and played well, I just think they get heavy handed.
- 24:11Speaker 2: They're gonna get big played here. The differences STIGs will
- 24:15Speaker 2: draw it place, gore big plays, and it kind of
- 24:17Speaker 2: takes the fight out of you because this this offense
- 24:20Speaker 2: can't score enough to keep up.
- 24:22Speaker 1: I agree with you, Uh Wake Forest traveling to UVA
- 24:26Speaker 1: getting six and a half, I'll tell you what man.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Wake's done a hell of a good job of this season.
- 24:31Speaker 1: They're five and three straight up. Robby Ashford's back in
- 24:33Speaker 1: this week. Uva seems to find ways to win every
- 24:38Speaker 1: single week. It's unbelievable. Uh Chandlen Morris, the quarterback that's
- 24:42Speaker 1: up there, has done a great job. But the you know,
- 24:44Speaker 1: you look at this thing and the fact that Virginia
- 24:47Speaker 1: is the leading candidate when the ACC is super crazy.
- 24:51Speaker 1: But I would I kind of think they're fools gold here.
- 24:53Speaker 1: If I get a seven seven pops per Wake, I'm
- 24:56Speaker 1: gonna take Wake Forest plus seven. I think that's too
- 24:58Speaker 1: many points.
- 24:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I think Wake is probably a good play here,
- 25:02Speaker 2: although they have crushed me since this NC State Gaming Home.
- 25:05Speaker 2: I bet on them on Thursday night. They look good
- 25:08Speaker 2: in the first half and then just killed me the
- 25:10Speaker 2: second half. It was awful. So I'm still pissed off
- 25:13Speaker 2: at Wake. I've not recovered. But I do think this
- 25:16Speaker 2: is too many points. It does feel like Virginia is
- 25:18Speaker 2: a little bit of fool's gold and they may be
- 25:22Speaker 2: one of those teams that gets in a prime spot
- 25:25Speaker 2: and gets hammered by somebody.
- 25:28Speaker 1: All right, Scottie, let's get to the team that we
- 25:30Speaker 1: predicted the season start. We've actually been right on this one.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Mississippi State getting nine and a half points against Georgia.
- 25:37Speaker 1: Georgia quietly is the you know, one of the top
- 25:40Speaker 1: reaked teams in the country that no one's really talking about. Uh,
- 25:43Speaker 1: And you're trying to figure out is Georgia that good?
- 25:45Speaker 1: Where are they going to be? Where? State five and four? Man,
- 25:49Speaker 1: this team is so close to being Bowl eligible and
- 25:52Speaker 1: they're eight and one ATS. Just like you and I
- 25:55Speaker 1: said beginning of the season, this is gonna be the
- 25:58Speaker 1: worst team that's you know, the the record's not going
- 26:01Speaker 1: to reflect how good this team is, but the ATS
- 26:03Speaker 1: record does. And I think if you're Mississippi State, bring
- 26:06Speaker 1: that motherfucking cow bell and give me a plus nine
- 26:09Speaker 1: and a half plus ten. I think they're in this.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Game, man, I think they're in this game. There's two
- 26:13Speaker 2: things I'll tell you. First, man, you talk about catching
- 26:16Speaker 2: Georgia at the right time between the cocktail party and
- 26:22Speaker 2: Texas here and they're on the road, And normally I
- 26:27Speaker 2: would not like an eleven o'clock game, But I think
- 26:31Speaker 2: Georgia may come into this game sleepwalking. Georgia heavy hands people,
- 26:36Speaker 2: they beat you down, and beat you down, and beat
- 26:38Speaker 2: But I will tell you this, and I mean this.
- 26:41Speaker 2: If they can't rush the passer and they let Blake
- 26:45Speaker 2: shape and stand back there and throw, George is gonna
- 26:48Speaker 2: be in a dogfight the entire game. They're gonna you
- 26:53Speaker 2: better get pressure on him. The games that State has lost,
- 26:57Speaker 2: they have done it because they created big play sacking,
- 27:01Speaker 2: shaping or putting heavy pressure on George has not been
- 27:05Speaker 2: able to do that to anyone this year, and now
- 27:07Speaker 2: States lines backed up. So if they can do that,
- 27:11Speaker 2: then I think they're gonna win this game. But it's
- 27:13Speaker 2: gonna be a change that Georgia is not done. I
- 27:16Speaker 2: don't think you get great effort from Georgia. I think
- 27:18Speaker 2: this is kind of and this is a good team.
- 27:22Speaker 2: We're gonna come out, We're gonna go to work with them.
- 27:24Speaker 2: I think the Bulldogs are I think they're live dogs
- 27:27Speaker 2: in this year plus two seventy, I mean three seventy
- 27:30Speaker 2: on this You got a chance to make some hay
- 27:32Speaker 2: on this game. If they sneak up and win this game,
- 27:35Speaker 2: do I think they're going to? Probably not, because they've
- 27:38Speaker 2: lost three games against good teams that they should have won.
- 27:42Speaker 2: I mean, this team is now. Look, this team's four
- 27:44Speaker 2: plays away from being four and five. They're five and four,
- 27:50Speaker 2: but there are also three plays away from being eight
- 27:54Speaker 2: to one. You know that they could have lost at
- 27:58Speaker 2: Arizona State game on that one big play two, so
- 28:00Speaker 2: they could easily have lost it. But at the end
- 28:02Speaker 2: of the day, this team's two and three in close games.
- 28:05Speaker 2: They're they're trying to figure out how to win. Levy's
- 28:07Speaker 2: doing some good things. Georgia is in a terrible flat spot. Yeah,
- 28:11Speaker 2: I like the Bulldogs and the points here.
- 28:15Speaker 1: Give me the shit dogs. You know who's back this
- 28:16Speaker 1: week for the Dogs, gott Y my man Fluff Bothwell.
- 28:19Speaker 2: Bluff played a little bit last week, but he's backing
- 28:21Speaker 2: healthy this week, so it should be good. Bulldogs should
- 28:24Speaker 2: be a little bit better against the running need Albert
- 28:26Speaker 2: Reaches to be healthy on the offensive line. He does
- 28:28Speaker 2: kind of make that run game go a little bit.
- 28:30Speaker 2: But I will tell you Bulldog's got some great play
- 28:33Speaker 2: shaping had to go out. I know probably nobody watched
- 28:36Speaker 2: much of this game, and yes, after we lost, I
- 28:38Speaker 2: did go back and watch what I missed after we
- 28:41Speaker 2: came back and won. After I mailed in the game
- 28:45Speaker 2: But the thing I will tell you is they have
- 28:48Speaker 2: a great freshman quarterback. We've been talking about ca Mario Taylor.
- 28:51Speaker 2: He came in and did well two out of three
- 28:53Speaker 2: scoring drives on his three drives, and then they've brought
- 28:56Speaker 2: Shaping back in and the fan base is going nuts.
- 28:59Speaker 2: And of course he he leads a comeback victory. Threw
- 29:02Speaker 2: a pick on his first play that wasn't really his
- 29:04Speaker 2: fault but went through the receiver's hands. But I do
- 29:08Speaker 2: think George has got to get pressure on the quarterback.
- 29:10Speaker 2: And here's the deal. If they've got a blitz and
- 29:13Speaker 2: don't get home big play. City Bulldogs have gotten behind
- 29:16Speaker 2: everybody they lead. They got two guys that are gonna
- 29:19Speaker 2: have thousand yard receiving years. This offense can hang a big,
- 29:22Speaker 2: big play on you. George's gotta be George's gotta be careful.
- 29:27Speaker 1: I agree with you. Give me the Dogs player, give
- 29:28Speaker 1: me the Mississippi State Bulldog. More cow Bill here, A
- 29:31Speaker 1: and M traveling to Missouri. A and m's laying seven
- 29:34Speaker 1: here under unders forty seven and a half. This Aggie
- 29:38Speaker 1: team is good man. They're finally gonna do something for me. Kite.
- 29:41Speaker 1: This will be the year this will be ye. Are
- 29:44Speaker 1: they gonna get your No. I get to cash my
- 29:47Speaker 1: eight and a half win ticket Scott for the first
- 29:49Speaker 1: time in five years. I don't give a shit who's
- 29:52Speaker 1: cheered for these guys. They can wear their white milkman
- 29:55Speaker 1: suits or put some hot chicks and skirts. I get
- 29:57Speaker 1: to cash an eight and a half win ticket this
- 29:59Speaker 1: year because they play Samford. By God, I'm gonna go
- 30:02Speaker 1: the damn game to make sure they don't lose it.
- 30:03Speaker 1: But anyway, this AGGI team is good. I like what
- 30:06Speaker 1: they're doing here. They're improving. You talked about a guy
- 30:09Speaker 1: earlier that is relatable that the team seems to play for.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Elko's done a hell of a great job. They weren't
- 30:15Speaker 1: worried about winning the press conference. They just wanted a
- 30:17Speaker 1: good coach. Lay a seven. I like the under in
- 30:20Speaker 1: this one. Missouri's gonna be playing with their third string quarterback,
- 30:22Speaker 1: Sam Horne, the backup quarterback got hurt Week one Forbula
- 30:26Speaker 1: is out. They're gonna lean on a mad hardy the
- 30:28Speaker 1: running game here. And I think drink and I like
- 30:31Speaker 1: drink a lot. I think he's a hell of a
- 30:33Speaker 1: good coach, but I think he's going to try to
- 30:36Speaker 1: take the air out of the ball. A lot of running,
- 30:38Speaker 1: a lot of running into that Aggie defense, and I
- 30:41Speaker 1: think that it's gonna just wear them down. I don't
- 30:43Speaker 1: think they're gonna be able to hang around. But under
- 30:44Speaker 1: forty seven and a half is where I lean in
- 30:46Speaker 1: this game.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Yeah, it certainly seemed like it should be low scoring.
- 30:50Speaker 2: Aggies are not scared to you know, they won't be
- 30:52Speaker 2: scared to take the air out of the ball if
- 30:54Speaker 2: they get get a lead. Look that that Aggie offense
- 30:59Speaker 2: is balanced and he is growing as a player. Colin
- 31:01Speaker 2: Klein's a guy is gonna be on some some coaching radar,
- 31:04Speaker 2: I would guess with his back background as well. So
- 31:09Speaker 2: it's gonna be fascinating to see how that how that goes.
- 31:12Speaker 2: But I agree with you, I think Drink is a
- 31:13Speaker 2: great coach. Uh. He is a guy that if he
- 31:16Speaker 2: wants to leave, he's gonna have the opportunity to leave
- 31:18Speaker 2: and take some jobs with with with what he's done.
- 31:22Speaker 2: So be interesting to see how this game works out.
- 31:24Speaker 2: Should be low scoring. I agree with you, this feels
- 31:27Speaker 2: like it ought to be a low scoring ball game.
- 31:30Speaker 1: Next game's got in the game, I'll be at Lubbock, Texas.
- 31:33Speaker 1: Texas Tech at home, laying ten. This line's down and
- 31:36Speaker 1: popped around ten and a half. Obviously Byu took some
- 31:39Speaker 1: sharp money earlier in the week. Uh, BYU's coming in here,
- 31:42Speaker 1: eight and six and two against the number And I
- 31:45Speaker 1: know you you were on b YU before the season started.
- 31:49Speaker 1: Bear Backmeyer again. If you haven't watched Byu play yet,
- 31:52Speaker 1: when you see him Saturday morning, see number forty seven
- 31:55Speaker 1: take a snap. It's not a trick play. Their quarterback
- 31:57Speaker 1: does where the number forty seven that this team here? LJ.
- 32:01Speaker 1: Martin's coming back off the injury report. This one heavy
- 32:05Speaker 1: in the running game here, But I really think that
- 32:07Speaker 1: Texas Techs defense is the unsung hero of this team.
- 32:11Speaker 1: I don't think people have realized it unless you've watched him.
- 32:14Speaker 1: Morton was back last week. The offense provided to be better.
- 32:17Speaker 1: They've got some explosive plays in there, but the defense
- 32:20Speaker 1: is what I'm going to lean on in this one.
- 32:22Speaker 1: Give me the Raiders laying ten at home and love
- 32:24Speaker 1: it and continue on in their special season. I think
- 32:27Speaker 1: we could see these teams play again in Dallas in
- 32:29Speaker 1: just a month.
- 32:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree with you. I think these teams do
- 32:32Speaker 2: end up probably playing one another. I mean, don't they
- 32:34Speaker 2: both have two game leads pretty.
- 32:36Speaker 1: Much something like that.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I think both these teams probably do play each
- 32:40Speaker 2: other again unless something unless something crazy happens. But at
- 32:44Speaker 2: the end of the day, give me the Tortilla's baby,
- 32:48Speaker 2: give me the tortillas. I think they're going to get
- 32:50Speaker 2: it done. I think they get it done in convincing fashion.
- 32:53Speaker 2: But they went on the road last week and manhandled case.
- 32:56Speaker 2: They a team that likes to be physical at home,
- 33:00Speaker 2: man handle them, and I think you may see a
- 33:03Speaker 2: lot of the same thing today. This will be look
- 33:07Speaker 2: tech God love them is a lot like the Bulldogs.
- 33:10Speaker 2: Everybody looks down their nose out on. Very few people
- 33:13Speaker 2: respect them. That's a tougher place to play than people
- 33:16Speaker 2: think when especially when they're good. And I think it
- 33:20Speaker 2: will be rocking in lovewock on Saturday morning, post game day,
- 33:24Speaker 2: people are gonna be up at the crack of dawn.
- 33:26Speaker 2: Biggest game, probably the biggest game text ever had. I mean,
- 33:29Speaker 2: that's that's legitimate. If it's not, it's second only the
- 33:34Speaker 2: only two I dreamed it. That's that's pretty much it.
- 33:37Speaker 2: So this is a huge game for the Red Raiders,
- 33:40Speaker 2: and I think they answer the bill because of what
- 33:42Speaker 2: you said the defense and the defensive line. I think
- 33:44Speaker 2: they're able to stop this. I think they're able to
- 33:46Speaker 2: stop this run game. Try to make this more of
- 33:48Speaker 2: a one dimensional team, and if they do that, they'll
- 33:51Speaker 2: get some turnovers. And I think Techt stretches it out
- 33:54Speaker 2: wins this game comfortably.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Oh we'll see what we got. Baby, talk about this
- 33:59Speaker 1: dead cat, baby, you freeze, you know now they got issues.
- 34:03Speaker 1: He may have the cancers. I think you Freeze is
- 34:05Speaker 1: a fraud. He bought a good roster at Mississippi, proved,
- 34:09Speaker 1: you know, with that he could play, and then after
- 34:11Speaker 1: that he hasn't done jack shit. You turn around this week,
- 34:15Speaker 1: Auburn's getting six and a half. Traveling to Bandy even
- 34:18Speaker 1: sounds weird to say that. Bandy last week was all
- 34:21Speaker 1: but dead against Texas and my man, Diego Pavia just
- 34:26Speaker 1: leads him back, and I was like, good lord, what
- 34:29Speaker 1: can this guy not do? And his mom's still hot
- 34:32Speaker 1: sitting in the end zone. I mean, I'm getting down
- 34:34Speaker 1: with this thing now that I don't know if I
- 34:36Speaker 1: want to lay I mean, I don't really want to
- 34:37Speaker 1: lay it with Bandy that. I don't really want to
- 34:39Speaker 1: take Auburn at six and a half seven either. Do
- 34:41Speaker 1: you have any interest in this game at all? No?
- 34:43Speaker 2: And you know why because I love DJ Darkin. I
- 34:46Speaker 2: think Darkin's a good football coach. I mean, take out
- 34:49Speaker 2: of Look, I understand a guy died on his watch it.
- 34:52Speaker 2: I do know a little bit more about that story.
- 34:55Speaker 2: The strength coach that was running that deals an ex
- 34:57Speaker 2: Mississippi State guy. So it looked at the end of
- 35:00Speaker 2: the day, Durkin's a good football coach. Did he handle
- 35:03Speaker 2: that such a No? Probably not. Obviously a young man
- 35:06Speaker 2: has passed away, which is awful. But man, let's face it,
- 35:12Speaker 2: the guy can coach football. He's been a great defensive
- 35:14Speaker 2: coordinator everywhere he's been. I think the team lights him.
- 35:18Speaker 2: I think this will give them a fresh start. Make
- 35:20Speaker 2: no mistake, this roster's talented. If they had anyone, anyone
- 35:25Speaker 2: who could throw the football past ten yards down the field,
- 35:29Speaker 2: this team might have one loss. I mean, they are
- 35:32Speaker 2: a good football team except at the most important spot,
- 35:36Speaker 2: which is quarterback. And you're talking about Freeze. I don't
- 35:39Speaker 2: think he's a fraud, but I think he did a
- 35:41Speaker 2: terrible job identifying quarterback talent. And I think he lucked
- 35:44Speaker 2: into Bo Wallace, which is really what got him started.
- 35:48Speaker 2: Look all he did was stake two last chance you quarterbacks,
- 35:51Speaker 2: and that made his career. He got Wallace, who was
- 35:54Speaker 2: a East Mississippi kid, and then he took Kelly, who
- 35:58Speaker 2: was an East Mississippi kid. Pretty much every game he
- 36:01Speaker 2: ever had, so he's never developed anybody. And and I
- 36:04Speaker 2: think that is that bow Wallace was a hard nosed,
- 36:08Speaker 2: not the most talented kid, tough kid. He's don't have that.
- 36:11Speaker 2: If he had a Bo Wallace on his football team,
- 36:13Speaker 2: this team probably making the playoffs because that defense is nasty.
- 36:16Speaker 2: And let me tell you who, Cam Coleman. You talking
- 36:20Speaker 2: about dude about to get paid in the portal because
- 36:23Speaker 2: he's got one more year. He ain't gonna be on
- 36:25Speaker 2: the planes. He's gonna want to go somewhere. That's kind
- 36:28Speaker 2: of quarterback. That dude is about to get paid, paid, paid,
- 36:34Speaker 2: And he is awfully close to the two Mississippi schools
- 36:37Speaker 2: that are hanging up some big numbers with wide receivers,
- 36:40Speaker 2: and Kiffin's the portal guy. I don't know, man, he
- 36:44Speaker 2: may not have to go very far to hang up
- 36:46Speaker 2: some big numbers.
- 36:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I about Look, I'll tell you right now, I
- 36:50Speaker 1: may get involved with Auburn plus seven because I have
- 36:52Speaker 1: a feeling that defense is gonna rise up and play.
- 36:56Speaker 1: And after that, I think we could see the offense
- 37:00Speaker 1: finally get the ball down field. I know it. I
- 37:02Speaker 1: know it's crazy, but we'll see. I haven't played it yet,
- 37:05Speaker 1: but I lean Auburn plus six and a half. Next game,
- 37:08Speaker 1: we got Scottie Maya. If you would have told me
- 37:11Speaker 1: this game would not matter, I would have told you
- 37:13Speaker 1: were crazy after Week one. But LSU five and three
- 37:17Speaker 1: only team in the country to have fired their coach
- 37:19Speaker 1: that has a winning record. Currently, we'll go down to
- 37:22Speaker 1: Tuscaloosa or go up to Tuscalousa to play this Alabama
- 37:25Speaker 1: team seven and one. You get an LSU coach that's
- 37:28Speaker 1: gonna be the interim here in Frank Martin. If you
- 37:30Speaker 1: don't know who he is, google him. Baby. We'll just
- 37:33Speaker 1: steal it from Signetti. He is a lifer in this
- 37:36Speaker 1: LSU football program. Everybody loves the guy. Now you're hearing
- 37:40Speaker 1: all these toxic comments come out about Brian Kelly, but
- 37:43Speaker 1: this LSU offense has been flawed all season long. You
- 37:47Speaker 1: just gotta wonder if they're gonna play hard for him.
- 37:49Speaker 1: I lean to take LSU if I can get a
- 37:51Speaker 1: plus seven in the first half to play him, But
- 37:54Speaker 1: this Bama team is good, man, and I just can't
- 37:56Speaker 1: I don't know, I just can't quite get there. But
- 37:59Speaker 1: I think LSU is not going to play dead here.
- 38:01Speaker 1: I think they're going to give it everything they got
- 38:03Speaker 1: for Frank Markin on Saturday.
- 38:04Speaker 2: Nay, I think they're gonna give it all the guy.
- 38:06Speaker 2: I just don't think they have enough. You've got to
- 38:08Speaker 2: run the football to expose Alabama, and they haven't run
- 38:13Speaker 2: the football on anyone and I don't think they're gonna
- 38:17Speaker 2: be able to do it Saturday night either. I think
- 38:19Speaker 2: that's just going to continue to give Alabama possessions. This
- 38:22Speaker 2: LSU defense is good, and I do think they will
- 38:27Speaker 2: I think they will give great effort. But at the
- 38:30Speaker 2: end of the day, I think ty Simpson's very very
- 38:33Speaker 2: very much gonna be in New York for the Heisman,
- 38:36Speaker 2: and whether he wins it or not, I don't know,
- 38:39Speaker 2: but buddy, he's got a real shot, and I think
- 38:42Speaker 2: quarterback plays the difference, and I think he's gonna be steady.
- 38:46Speaker 2: He's at home. I think I think they're going to
- 38:49Speaker 2: really struggle and be a one dimensional football team. I
- 38:52Speaker 2: think Bama dials up some blitzes to get to nuss Meyer,
- 38:55Speaker 2: and I think I think we have some problems. I'm
- 38:57Speaker 2: gonna be interested to see do they make the switch
- 38:59Speaker 2: off from because Nuts is not healthy and that is
- 39:03Speaker 2: a huge part of what the problem of this team
- 39:05Speaker 2: has been. And do they switch to Van Baren when
- 39:09Speaker 2: do they make that move? Or do they make that move?
- 39:11Speaker 2: And thus match just says, you know what, I'm going
- 39:13Speaker 2: to prepare for the pros I'm out, or I think
- 39:15Speaker 2: Nuts has actually got another year? Does he hit the
- 39:17Speaker 2: portal and go somewhere else? So it'll be it'll be
- 39:21Speaker 2: fascinating to see what happens with that. But I'm wondering
- 39:25Speaker 2: is do they make the switch at some point, because
- 39:28Speaker 2: that's the one way they might be able to generate
- 39:31Speaker 2: some run game is get an athletic quarterback who can
- 39:34Speaker 2: run on some of these blitzes and things like that.
- 39:38Speaker 1: Next one, Scottie Iowa at home getting six and a
- 39:41Speaker 1: half hosted Oregon. This is the two completely different teams
- 39:45Speaker 1: that you've got here. But I don't know, man if
- 39:47Speaker 1: you haven't watched Iowa yet. Don't sleep on this team
- 39:51Speaker 1: having a chance to sneak themselves into the Big Ten
- 39:53Speaker 1: Championship and possibly even get into the tournament. Man the
- 39:57Speaker 1: quarterback play, They're gonna run, They're gonna run, and they're
- 40:00Speaker 1: gonna run some more. The quarterbacks. Actually, they've kind of
- 40:02Speaker 1: figured things out there, averaging thirty one points a game
- 40:05Speaker 1: this season. We're talking about Iowa and they're only giving
- 40:08Speaker 1: up thirteen. Weather in Iowa City is gonna be in
- 40:11Speaker 1: the thirties to forties, a little bit of win, and
- 40:14Speaker 1: it's gonna be rated. If that's not the most Iowa
- 40:17Speaker 1: thing I've ever seen, I don't know what is. But
- 40:19Speaker 1: give me six and a half and give me the
- 40:20Speaker 1: Hawk guys. I think this team's a live dog to
- 40:23Speaker 1: get this win in Oregon. They are going to hit
- 40:25Speaker 1: these fools in the mouth all damn day, and there's
- 40:29Speaker 1: gonna be a big special teams play that's gonna bust
- 40:32Speaker 1: this thing open. They've already played a team like this
- 40:35Speaker 1: in Indiana and look what they did there. They muddied
- 40:37Speaker 1: it up and hunt right in that game. Give me
- 40:40Speaker 1: Iowa one more time, baby, plus six and a half.
- 40:42Speaker 2: You know I like Kirk Fearnce. This is anybody's listening
- 40:46Speaker 2: to us for more than eight minutes knows. I love
- 40:48Speaker 2: this team. I mean, I love how he plays football.
- 40:51Speaker 2: I don't care that that he wins ugly. I don't
- 40:54Speaker 2: care that it's thirteen ten. The dude wins, and he
- 40:58Speaker 2: puts more tight ends in NFL than everybody else combined.
- 41:02Speaker 2: It is all one hundred and twenty seven of you.
- 41:05Speaker 2: It is the guy coaches hard nosed football and I
- 41:10Speaker 2: can't wait to watch this game. Gonna be a great
- 41:14Speaker 2: game Saturday afternoon. I wish it was a night game.
- 41:17Speaker 2: Oh what a great scene that would be. But I
- 41:20Speaker 2: think this is gonna be a tremendous football game, and
- 41:22Speaker 2: I agree with you. Give me the Hawkeyes. I think
- 41:25Speaker 2: this is a close game, and I think they got
- 41:28Speaker 2: a shot to win it.
- 41:30Speaker 1: Talking about stay in the Big Ten, Washington making that
- 41:34Speaker 1: two times on travel, but what they do is they're
- 41:37Speaker 1: gonna land in Madison, Wisconsin. Let me put you give
- 41:41Speaker 1: me some stats here. Whiskey has not won a Big
- 41:43Speaker 1: Ten game. Get this season. They're two and six, they're
- 41:46Speaker 1: three and five against the number. Whiskey has only scored
- 41:50Speaker 1: twenty seven points in Big Ten Play twenty seven. Team
- 41:57Speaker 1: is so bad? Are you gonna lay it with Washington
- 42:00Speaker 1: here on the road? Are we breaking our rule on
- 42:01Speaker 1: the time travel?
- 42:03Speaker 2: Yes, we're breaking our rule. Yes, I'm gonna lay it
- 42:05Speaker 2: on Washington. Wisconsin's terrible. I mean they are. They are
- 42:10Speaker 2: so bad and it's just hard to It's just hard
- 42:13Speaker 2: to get behind this team. And at some point this
- 42:16Speaker 2: starts to wear on you. Now, this is where they
- 42:19Speaker 2: You know, they almost beat Oregon in a similar spot
- 42:22Speaker 2: to this last year, but that was a much better
- 42:25Speaker 2: team than this. This team's bad. They are really bad offensively.
- 42:30Speaker 2: I mean, hell, they could barely score on Miami of
- 42:32Speaker 2: Ohio deay Kwon Finn that'd get hurt. They lose that game.
- 42:35Speaker 2: There's zeroed out in my mind. I am telling you,
- 42:39Speaker 2: this is one of the worst offensive football teams in
- 42:42Speaker 2: the country. And at the end of the day, I
- 42:44Speaker 2: like to quarterback play at Washington. They've already had the
- 42:47Speaker 2: goal across the country a couple of times, which does
- 42:50Speaker 2: concern me because they have made this trip a couple
- 42:52Speaker 2: of times. But at the end of the day, it's
- 42:54Speaker 2: this is more of a bet against the Badgers than
- 42:57Speaker 2: it is for Washington.
- 43:00Speaker 1: This board that we got here, Scottie, I kind of
- 43:02Speaker 1: like UCLA minus one and a half with Nebraska Delan
- 43:05Speaker 1: Reela quarterback in Nebraska's out the remainder of the season.
- 43:09Speaker 1: Here they're having to travel out to La late kickoff again.
- 43:13Speaker 1: Haven't played it yet, but I kind of like U
- 43:15Speaker 1: c l A in this spot. Don't look if you've
- 43:16Speaker 1: got an opinion of that one.
- 43:18Speaker 2: Yeah, kind of like you see it, kind of like
- 43:19Speaker 2: UCLA here. I agree with you. This seems like does
- 43:22Speaker 2: seem like flat spot here. Those late night travel games, man,
- 43:26Speaker 2: they just they just they it doesn't go well.
- 43:31Speaker 1: Next one, we're talking about what are we gonna do
- 43:33Speaker 1: with UCLA's head coaching job. Maybe we should hire a
- 43:35Speaker 1: guy that's already done it once in Jim Mora, who's
- 43:38Speaker 1: at Yukon. This team is six and three. They're hosting
- 43:42Speaker 1: Duke Duke off of that huge win in the pass
- 43:44Speaker 1: interference game place last week in the Clemson spot. But
- 43:49Speaker 1: Duke also has a chance if Duke's got Virginia next week.
- 43:52Speaker 1: Now they've got the out of conference sleepy spot. You
- 43:55Speaker 1: gotta go to stores. It's gonna be cold, it's gonna
- 43:58Speaker 1: be windy. And they got joy Pigano. Baby. I woulda
- 44:02Speaker 1: buy the hook get it to ten, but I think
- 44:03Speaker 1: Yukon's a live dog in this spot. This is a
- 44:06Speaker 1: really flat spot for Duke.
- 44:08Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what this really is about. That's first time
- 44:10Speaker 2: since nineteen eighty Dukes one at Clemson. Uh so as
- 44:15Speaker 2: a huge win for those guys. Whether you agree or
- 44:18Speaker 2: disagree with the cause of relevant, they got a w.
- 44:21Speaker 2: That's a big win. They've got a huge game next
- 44:24Speaker 2: week with Virginia on the on deck. This feels like
- 44:27Speaker 2: flat spots city. This is where these teams get upsets.
- 44:31Speaker 2: Is late in the season, when they're catching teams on
- 44:33Speaker 2: flat spots and Yukon's getting ten.
- 44:36Speaker 1: I do like.
- 44:37Speaker 2: I like Yukon and home here getting ten.
- 44:39Speaker 1: Let's go to the sun Belt. Maybe Southern Miss six
- 44:43Speaker 1: and two, man, this Southern Miss team was garbage last year.
- 44:47Speaker 1: We told you early on in this team was an
- 44:49Speaker 1: easy win on the over. They've already hit it. It
- 44:51Speaker 1: was four and a half games, baby, Southern Miss of
- 44:53Speaker 1: six and two traveling to Arkansas State getting them some
- 44:57Speaker 1: angry butch Joneses that are Arkansas State. Man, If you
- 45:01Speaker 1: haven't been paying attention, this team is improving, Scotty, How
- 45:05Speaker 1: are we gonna play this one?
- 45:07Speaker 2: Man? I like I like the home I like the
- 45:09Speaker 2: home team catching points. I mean it's a short it's
- 45:12Speaker 2: a short number. But I ain't Butch Jones gets it
- 45:14Speaker 2: done at home. I like Southern Miss. I like Charles
- 45:17Speaker 2: Huff think he's doing a good job. Dought he did
- 45:19Speaker 2: a great job at at at Marshall as well. He's
- 45:22Speaker 2: coming around, turned around this Southern program. And Charles a
- 45:26Speaker 2: likable guy, so good for him. But I just think
- 45:29Speaker 2: Jones is able to get it done quarterbacks athletic for
- 45:32Speaker 2: Arkansas State. Think he gives this defense for Southern myss
- 45:35Speaker 2: some problems.
- 45:36Speaker 1: I do too. I like Arkansas State live dog in
- 45:39Speaker 1: that we got a few of these, baby. I think
- 45:40Speaker 1: a lot of these dogs are gonna come home for us.
- 45:43Speaker 1: I don't have a play in this one's gotten last game.
- 45:45Speaker 1: Maybe Notre Dame. Navy's obviously in. I think they're winning
- 45:49Speaker 1: the American Conference currently. They're seven and one. They're kind
- 45:52Speaker 1: of where Army was last year. Now, if you haven't
- 45:54Speaker 1: watched this Navy team play yet, this is not your
- 45:57Speaker 1: granddaddy's Navy team. They got it more of a wide
- 45:59Speaker 1: open all offense. They put some points up, but this
- 46:01Speaker 1: Notre Dame team seems to be kind of trending in there.
- 46:05Speaker 1: You are you gonna lay four touchdowns with Notre Dame
- 46:07Speaker 1: or even gonna get involved in this week.
- 46:09Speaker 2: I'm man, it tells me so much to take Navy here.
- 46:12Speaker 2: But man, they they just did not look good at
- 46:16Speaker 2: all against North Texas last week. I watched a lot
- 46:20Speaker 2: of that ball game, and they just couldn't get it
- 46:22Speaker 2: done and couldn't get it done down in the red
- 46:23Speaker 2: zone a couple of times, and that's what kept us
- 46:27Speaker 2: under on that ball game. And then that allowed you know,
- 46:30Speaker 2: North Texas just grind clock once they had that lead.
- 46:33Speaker 2: They weren't going to take a chance of a turnover
- 46:34Speaker 2: or anything like that. So it says, yes, take take
- 46:39Speaker 2: the midshipman and the points. This is man, this has
