- 2:16Speaker 5: an awesome Juicy Scoop interview today with the stars of
- 2:20Speaker 5: the new show, Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. They were here.
- 2:23Speaker 5: We recorded it. You're going to die. It's so good.
- 2:26Speaker 5: Just wanted to cover a few hot topics that happened
- 2:29Speaker 5: over the long weekend. I hope you had a wonderful
- 2:32Speaker 5: weekend as well. But we know that Brittany of Vanderpump
- 2:38Speaker 5: Rules has filed for divorce. Jax Taylor has actually come out,
- 2:43Speaker 5: and he was in treatment, and he says that he
- 2:46Speaker 5: now has been diagnosed with bipolar and also PTSD. We
- 2:50Speaker 5: don't know exactly what that means as far as how
- 2:56Speaker 5: he'll interact with the rest of the cast on The Valley,
- 2:59Speaker 5: but he says he feels like he's going to be
- 3:00Speaker 5: in a better place for his son, so wishing him well.
- 3:06Speaker 5: Burning Man happened this weekend. I don't know if you
- 3:08Speaker 5: follow anyone. It still looks like a nightmare. I follow
- 3:11Speaker 5: some people that are really wealthy that they go, like,
- 3:15Speaker 5: the five-star, I don't even know, seven-star way. And so
- 3:20Speaker 5: they were showing me the camp, but then part of
- 3:22Speaker 5: it is, like, the bartering and stuff of Burning Man. Like,
- 3:26Speaker 5: even though you're, like, living in this nice tent and
- 3:28Speaker 5: maybe you have a chef or whatever, then you also
- 3:30Speaker 5: have to be, like, a housekeeper for these people. It's
- 3:33Speaker 5: so weird. I just... I just will never get it.
- 3:37Speaker 5: I don't understand it. If you went and had a
- 3:40Speaker 5: great time, I've talked to people that go every year,
- 3:43Speaker 5: and I know they like wearing the Mad Max outfits,
- 3:46Speaker 5: and it's just, I just will never understand the appeal.
- 3:51Speaker 5: But to those who went, I'm glad it didn't rain
- 3:54Speaker 5: like the previous year. George Clooney and Brad Pitt made
- 3:59Speaker 5: their debut as a couple. No, they're in the Venice
- 4:02Speaker 5: Film Festival. They have a movie coming out. And Brad
- 4:05Speaker 5: Pitt came out with his girlfriend that we've heard about
- 4:08Speaker 5: for a while. He is 61. I mean, he looks amazing. Yes,
- 4:13Speaker 5: I believe he's had some work done. Who cares? He
- 4:15Speaker 5: looks fabulous. His girlfriend is only 31. And she's really smart.
- 4:20Speaker 5: She speaks four languages. She's really pretty, classy, like not
- 4:26Speaker 5: overly done, brunette. She looks kind of like George Clooney's wife.
- 4:30Speaker 5: Like they could honestly be sisters.
- 4:32Speaker 7: And.
- 4:34Speaker 5: But that's a huge age difference, even for someone like that,
- 4:37Speaker 5: mature and smart. She's a jewelry designer and a lot
- 4:40Speaker 5: of the stars, I imagine it's just simple gold, just
- 4:43Speaker 5: a simple gold necklace, you know, that I sell to
- 4:45Speaker 5: the stars. I'm sure she's lovely. But that was kind
- 4:49Speaker 5: of a big deal that he was on the red
- 4:51Speaker 5: carpet in Venice with her for the first time, even
- 4:54Speaker 5: though we've like seen a couple pap photos of them.
- 4:57Speaker 5: And then on a sad end was Leah Remini. of
- 5:03Speaker 5: King and Queens and also, you know, big Scientologists who
- 5:07Speaker 5: then did podcasts about leaving Scientology. She's been with her
- 5:10Speaker 5: husband for, I think, 27 years. They've been married. And
- 5:14Speaker 5: she announced via social media that they are getting divorced,
- 5:19Speaker 5: that it is nobody's fault, and they're going to stay
- 5:22Speaker 5: co-parents to their daughter, who is like, I think she's
- 5:24Speaker 5: a junior this year. Because I remember there was a
- 5:27Speaker 5: big controversy that Leah Remini didn't go to the wedding
- 5:31Speaker 5: because at the Georgian plantation for J-Lo and Ben. And
- 5:35Speaker 5: people wondered, did she not approve of this wedding? What
- 5:37Speaker 5: was it? No, she was moving her daughter into college,
- 5:40Speaker 5: which I think most women wouldn't miss that opportunity for
- 5:44Speaker 5: their one daughter for their best friend's fourth wedding. So
- 5:47Speaker 5: I never held that against. We've seen them. She was
- 5:50Speaker 5: at J-Lo's birthday. So a lot of people are like,
- 5:52Speaker 5: what does this mean now as two women that have
- 5:56Speaker 5: worked together, have been best friends for like 20 years,
- 5:59Speaker 5: They're the same age, essentially, and now they're both single.
- 6:04Speaker 5: You know, there's one of two things that can happen. One,
- 6:07Speaker 5: they just have their fun and do their own thing.
- 6:10Speaker 5: And the second is the more likely one, a podcast together.
- 6:13Speaker 5: J-Lo and Leah, you know, third chapter. Who knows what
- 6:18Speaker 5: they'll call it? But, you know, am I surprised about
- 6:24Speaker 5: Leah Remini? You know, I knew them. through social circles.
- 6:28Speaker 5: And my husband knew him from golfing or whatnot. And
- 6:33Speaker 5: it's just really hard to say why. I just hope
- 6:35Speaker 5: it stays nice and friendly and that they're both hopefully
- 6:40Speaker 5: on the same page and no one wanted it more
- 6:42Speaker 5: than the other because that's what it turns ugly. It's
- 6:44Speaker 5: very rare that you're both like, hey, you know what?
- 6:48Speaker 5: Would you want to maybe get divorced? Oh my God,
- 6:50Speaker 5: I was thinking the same thing. Yes, yes, queen, go
- 6:53Speaker 5: for it. Yes, king, do it. Ah, so glad we're
- 6:57Speaker 5: on the same page. Rarely happens, but I'm hoping that
- 7:00Speaker 5: that is the case for them. All right, you guys.
- 7:05Speaker 5: I'm so excited for this interview. I think you will
- 7:08Speaker 5: really enjoy it. This is a juicy show, but you
- 7:11Speaker 5: don't have to know anything about the show or my
- 7:13Speaker 5: guests to get into all the things we uncover about
- 7:16Speaker 5: their juicy lives. So here we go with the girls
- 7:20Speaker 5: from Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Hello and welcome to
- 7:25Speaker 5: Juicy Scoop. Well, I have two of the new stars
- 7:29Speaker 5: of the hot new show on Hulu, Secret Lives of
- 7:33Speaker 5: Mormon Wives. Welcome. Both of you, gorgeous.
- 7:38Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 7:38Speaker 5: First of all, I tried to make my hair look
- 7:41Speaker 5: like yours. They're both long locks, honeysuckle. We've got Jen
- 7:47Speaker 5: Affleck and Demi, tell me what your last name is. Angaman. Angaman.
- 7:51Speaker 5: And I have watched four episodes, you guys. This airs
- 7:57Speaker 5: on September 6th, Friday on Hulu. And they were nice
- 8:01Speaker 5: enough to give me the screeners. And so I saw
- 8:04Speaker 5: one and I'm like, oh, that's all they're going to
- 8:05Speaker 5: give me. And then I watched four and I'm so
- 8:08Speaker 5: excited for the Juicy Scoopers because I thought- I can't
- 8:12Speaker 5: believe they gave me this many episodes. Like, what are
- 8:14Speaker 5: they thinking? Because it's so juicy. And then I was like, oh, God,
- 8:17Speaker 5: they're going to piecemeal it. And I'm like, they really
- 8:19Speaker 5: should give it to them, give us it all so
- 8:21Speaker 5: we get hooked. And then if you come back, if
- 8:24Speaker 5: they want to string us along once a week, I
- 8:27Speaker 5: think that's the way to do it. And that's what
- 8:29Speaker 5: they did.
- 8:29Speaker 3: Yes.
- 8:30Speaker 4: I like that.
- 8:31Speaker 5: So I love that everyone can listen to this interview,
- 8:34Speaker 5: get a little familiar, and then watch it. Yeah, for sure.
- 8:38Speaker 5: Because I think it's really good. And I'm not just
- 8:41Speaker 5: blowing steam up your blowout.
- 8:44Speaker 3: Good, good, because that's— We haven't watched it, so whatever
- 8:48Speaker 3: you've seen, we have not seen.
- 8:50Speaker 4: We lived it. Yes, we definitely lived it, and it
- 8:52Speaker 4: was definitely juicy, no question.
- 8:55Speaker 5: Okay, so let's just start from the beginning of why
- 8:58Speaker 5: some people might be already familiar with you guys, but
- 9:01Speaker 5: you don't have to be, is you started this TikToking
- 9:06Speaker 5: sensation where where all you guys who are young Mormon
- 9:10Speaker 5: moms living in a close-knit area of Utah were influencers.
- 9:15Speaker 5: Some of you were influencers on your own. And then
- 9:18Speaker 5: who was it that first said, hey, do you guys
- 9:20Speaker 5: want to come over for soda? Because you don't drink
- 9:24Speaker 5: or do coffee, or at least you're not supposed to.
- 9:27Speaker 5: And let's dance with our long locks. Like who thought
- 9:33Speaker 5: to go, let's put the camera here. And let's all
- 9:37Speaker 5: like go like, and also what's with this move? Okay.
- 9:41Speaker 5: I'm just doing it.
- 9:41Speaker 4: Let's see it.
- 9:44Speaker 8: Oh, that was good.
- 9:47Speaker 4: That was good.
- 9:47Speaker 8: That was better than me. You're officially part of mom talk.
- 9:50Speaker 5: And popping the ass as you turn.
- 9:53Speaker 4: Yeah, baby.
- 9:54Speaker 5: A wing.
- 9:54Speaker 8: In the trailer.
- 9:55Speaker 5: Yeah, that's it.
- 9:56Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 9:56Speaker 4: That's it.
- 9:57Speaker 5: Oh, yes. Yes.
- 9:59Speaker 4: Oh, my God. We're going to do a TikTok after this.
- 10:01Speaker 3: Yes.
- 10:01Speaker 5: You're in. You're in. So who thought of that first?
- 10:06Speaker 5: And who's a real dancer and who's just someone that
- 10:09Speaker 5: can do the moves?
- 10:11Speaker 3: I mean, I don't think that anyone really thought of, like,
- 10:16Speaker 3: TikTok for Charlie D'Amelio and Addison Rae, definitely.
- 10:19Speaker 5: Oh, that's right. They kind of started doing that with
- 10:21Speaker 5: the camera on the stand.
- 10:23Speaker 4: Yes. It's definitely Gen Z.
- 10:25Speaker 8: Okay.
- 10:26Speaker 4: But it was like, yeah, that's the thing.
- 10:29Speaker 3: When I got on, I remember so many people being like,
- 10:31Speaker 3: get the moms off of this app. Like, they do
- 10:34Speaker 3: not deserve to be here. They should not be on here.
- 10:36Speaker 3: You're so old.
- 10:37Speaker 5: And like, I mean, even to you. This old mom
- 10:41Speaker 5: is on it.
- 10:41Speaker 4: I'm like, what are you talking about? I'm like, you're
- 10:43Speaker 4: talking to Jenny from the lab.
- 10:45Speaker 5: Excuse me.
- 10:45Speaker 4: I'm just kidding.
- 10:46Speaker 8: No, like they would say it to anyone over 18.
- 10:49Speaker 8: I swear. No, they're like, you're old. Ooh, get off
- 10:51Speaker 8: this app.
- 10:52Speaker 4: So that was kind of how it started.
- 10:53Speaker 3: And for me, I was like, when you tell me
- 10:55Speaker 3: not to do something, I'm going to go so much harder.
- 10:58Speaker 3: So I just went hard on it. And then it
- 11:00Speaker 3: was Taylor who kind of started the group.
- 11:03Speaker 8: She had an original group.
- 11:04Speaker 3: That she would like do little satire videos with. And
- 11:06Speaker 3: then it became this whole thing where they would get
- 11:09Speaker 3: together and We all were influencers already, independent of MomTalk,
- 11:14Speaker 3: and doing it for, you know, work, you know?
- 11:17Speaker 4: And also for fun.
- 11:19Speaker 8: Yes, for sure.
- 11:20Speaker 5: Meaning work that you guys got sponsors and you were
- 11:22Speaker 5: making an income.
- 11:23Speaker 4: Correct.
- 11:23Speaker 3: Yeah, we had done influencing. I had done it for
- 11:26Speaker 3: almost 10 years at that time. And then I think,
- 11:29Speaker 3: I mean, she's a lot younger than me, so you
- 11:31Speaker 3: were pretty.
- 11:32Speaker 5: Fresh for me.
- 11:32Speaker 4: You guys are how old?
- 11:34Speaker 5: I'm 25.
- 11:34Speaker 8: And I just turned 30.
- 11:36Speaker 5: Oh, okay. Well, you both look like you're... 16. Must
- 11:40Speaker 5: be that good Mormon living.
- 11:42Speaker 4: I mean, look at Mitt Romney.
- 11:44Speaker 5: I mean, the guy was like, I remember like when
- 11:47Speaker 5: he was ready for president, I was like, how does
- 11:48Speaker 5: this guy look so young? Oh, that's right. They're Mormon.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:51Speaker 5: Um, no drinking, no coffee.
- 11:53Speaker 4: Yep.
- 11:54Speaker 5: Um, but so, so the big scoop was the big scandal.
- 11:59Speaker 5: And I spoke about it on here too, because when
- 12:02Speaker 5: I saw all this news, I was like, Oh, this
- 12:04Speaker 5: girl does look familiar. These videos have come through my feed.
- 12:08Speaker 5: And that was when your co-star, also part of the
- 12:11Speaker 5: mom talk you talked about, Taylor, she chose to go
- 12:15Speaker 5: on and just say, oh, by the way, I'm getting
- 12:17Speaker 5: a divorce because my husband and I are soft swingers.
- 12:21Speaker 5: And within our friend group, we would swing in the
- 12:24Speaker 5: sense of make out and do stuff with people. Don't
- 12:27Speaker 5: go all the way as long as the partner was
- 12:30Speaker 5: in the room. So it almost felt like a spin
- 12:33Speaker 5: the bottle thing. But more.
- 12:35Speaker 2: Yes.
- 12:36Speaker 9: Yes.
- 12:37Speaker 5: And so as I started to watch this a little bit.
- 12:41Speaker 5: And they kind of explained that at the first couple episodes.
- 12:44Speaker 5: I was like, okay, whose husband did she get with?
- 12:48Speaker 5: And not until I understood later, no, whoever she swung
- 12:53Speaker 5: with is not any part, is nobody's husband that we're
- 12:57Speaker 5: currently seeing on the show, correct?
- 12:58Speaker 7: Well, I mean, you know more than me because you
- 13:00Speaker 7: were actually like invited to.
- 13:02Speaker 8: Yeah, I was at the parties.
- 13:05Speaker 3: And if this is coming out tomorrow, I feel like
- 13:07Speaker 3: we should leave a lot of this like, I don't
- 13:11Speaker 3: want to spoil anything.
- 13:14Speaker 5: But some gets revealed.
- 13:16Speaker 4: It all gets revealed.
- 13:17Speaker 5: People will know.
- 13:19Speaker 3: In two days who was involved and who wasn't.
- 13:24Speaker 5: So when you were there, when you got invited to
- 13:26Speaker 5: the parties... Did you realize that this was, was there
- 13:31Speaker 5: a pineapple on the door? Was there a Luffy on
- 13:33Speaker 5: the golf cart? Like, was there any sign?
- 13:36Speaker 4: She was like, it was a flamingo?
- 13:38Speaker 3: No, I walked by Taylor a few times in the
- 13:40Speaker 3: grocery store, and I saw that upside-down pineapple in her cart.
- 13:43Speaker 4: Shut up.
- 13:44Speaker 8: No, I swear to you.
- 13:45Speaker 4: No, you did not.
- 13:46Speaker 8: I'm kidding.
- 13:46Speaker 4: No, I'm kidding.
- 13:48Speaker 8: You liar.
- 13:48Speaker 4: I was like, hi, Taylor. She's like, you don't have
- 13:50Speaker 4: to do that.
- 13:51Speaker 5: By the way, you just have to have the pineapple
- 13:53Speaker 5: in your cart. In the part where you'd keep a toddler.
- 13:57Speaker 8: Oh, so it doesn't have to be upside down.
- 13:58Speaker 5: No, you do it upside down if you take it
- 14:01Speaker 5: up the butt. No, I'm making up that part, too.
- 14:04Speaker 4: I'm like, no, no, no.
- 14:05Speaker 5: The upside down part I don't think is anything. But
- 14:09Speaker 5: that's why I heard that years ago from someone in Atlanta.
- 14:14Speaker 5: Then now people think it's kind of funny, but pineapples
- 14:18Speaker 5: are everywhere too, like clothing and stuff. Yeah. But then
- 14:21Speaker 5: it became the loofah thing in the Florida places where
- 14:24Speaker 5: different loofahs meant different things. Things that you were into
- 14:28Speaker 5: of how far you would go. Different colored loofahs. And
- 14:31Speaker 5: they put those on the golf carts. They put those.
- 14:33Speaker 8: Stop it.
- 14:35Speaker 5: And on cruise ships, they put the loofah... Or they
- 14:38Speaker 5: put things outside of their cruise ship doors to be like, hey,
- 14:41Speaker 5: if you're interested, we are too. Yes.
- 14:44Speaker 4: That is bizarre. So it's a whole thing.
- 14:46Speaker 5: It's a whole thing. But I think what you made
- 14:50Speaker 5: this interesting is, you know... The other documentaries that we've
- 14:56Speaker 5: seen throughout time on swingers, they're not attractive and young. Oh,
- 15:01Speaker 5: they're it's a hit or miss. And so I think
- 15:07Speaker 5: I like to think that. I don't know, there was
- 15:10Speaker 5: something sort of I think some people are trying to
- 15:12Speaker 5: almost find it appealing, provided families don't. break up because
- 15:16Speaker 5: you guys all um you know because you're mormon there
- 15:20Speaker 5: is this influx of marrying younger than than the average
- 15:23Speaker 5: american right and then you're all so attractive and so
- 15:26Speaker 5: it's like and you're all like fun and young and
- 15:29Speaker 5: god if you could make out with other people and
- 15:31Speaker 5: make the party a little more fun since you're not
- 15:33Speaker 5: like doing anything drug wise crazy could that be sort
- 15:38Speaker 5: of appealing like how long did it go before it
- 15:41Speaker 5: blew up with good.
- 15:42Speaker 3: People do you know I mean, yeah, it didn't go
- 15:45Speaker 3: well and it didn't last very long. I personally stand
- 15:49Speaker 3: behind the fact that that is just a means to
- 15:52Speaker 3: an end.
- 15:52Speaker 4: I agree. I don't know anyone and.
- 15:56Speaker 3: Maybe I don't know enough people that participate. It sounds
- 15:58Speaker 3: like there's quite a few people that do.
- 16:00Speaker 5: Well, I think the only time it really does work, sadly,
- 16:03Speaker 5: is with kind of older people that are maybe even
- 16:08Speaker 5: on their second marriage and they're like, hey, like we're
- 16:10Speaker 5: both really sexual. We're going to be part of these groups.
- 16:14Speaker 5: We have the rules. And even then it doesn't always
- 16:17Speaker 5: work out. The one couple I knew and it was
- 16:20Speaker 5: like a friend of was the rules broke. The two
- 16:25Speaker 5: people got together when it wasn't a foursome, come over
- 16:29Speaker 5: for steaks and jacuzzi. And, you know, and then they
- 16:32Speaker 5: started to do their own thing. That's usually what happens
- 16:35Speaker 5: is that it's very hard to find exactly two people
- 16:40Speaker 5: Four people. You really need four people exactly on the
- 16:43Speaker 5: same page.
- 16:43Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 16:44Speaker 5: Nobody likes each other more than the other.
- 16:46Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 16:47Speaker 5: So I think that's why the swingers that last, it
- 16:50Speaker 5: is go on a vacation and never see the people again.
- 16:53Speaker 5: Go to this party and never see the people again.
- 16:56Speaker 5: Not you're going through drive-thru and you're like, hey.
- 16:59Speaker 4: For sure.
- 17:00Speaker 5: Have your casserole dish. I don't really like your husband's
- 17:02Speaker 5: dick last night. I don't think. So you didn't pick
- 17:05Speaker 5: up lines. Like, I don't think.
- 17:07Speaker 8: That is ever going to last.
- 17:09Speaker 5: Yes, no. And I think the, you know, being naive
- 17:12Speaker 5: and young with your castmates and whoever those friends were,
- 17:17Speaker 5: I think they thought that they could do that.
- 17:19Speaker 7: Well, and I think it also is coming from just
- 17:22Speaker 7: boredom and being, like, a combination of being married super
- 17:25Speaker 7: young and then boredom.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:26Speaker 3: Right?
- 17:26Speaker 4: Because, like.
- 17:28Speaker 7: After being married for what, five to seven years, you
- 17:30Speaker 7: get to that stage where you're like, okay, yes, you're like, okay, like,
- 17:33Speaker 7: how do we keep this interesting? And like, you know,
- 17:36Speaker 7: some people, you know, you know, somehow. amp up their
- 17:40Speaker 7: sex life others start swinging in Taylor's case and so yeah.
- 17:45Speaker 3: No I definitely yeah especially in the Mormon culture getting
- 17:49Speaker 3: married so young not sure who you are before you
- 17:51Speaker 3: get married your brain's not even fully developed most of
- 17:54Speaker 3: the time when you're making the most important decision of
- 17:56Speaker 3: your life you're throwing kids into the mix you're becoming
- 17:58Speaker 3: a mom and all of a sudden you like look
- 18:00Speaker 3: at your life and you're like wait like I had
- 18:03Speaker 3: an idea of how my life was supposed to be
- 18:05Speaker 3: and like It all happened so fast. And so you
- 18:08Speaker 3: just find yourself in that limbo and in those.
- 18:11Speaker 8: But I will say a lot of it was brought
- 18:12Speaker 8: on by the husband.
- 18:13Speaker 4: Yes, that's true.
- 18:14Speaker 5: The husband's encouraging it. Yes.
- 18:17Speaker 3: Yes.
- 18:17Speaker 7: Yes.
- 18:18Speaker 5: And OK, so both of you were raised in the church. Correct.
- 18:23Speaker 9: Yes.
- 18:23Speaker 5: Both of your parents are still in it.
- 18:25Speaker 9: Yes.
- 18:25Speaker 3: Correct.
- 18:26Speaker 5: And so did you, what was your relationship with watching
- 18:31Speaker 5: reality TV growing up? Were you fans of reality TV?
- 18:34Speaker 5: Did you watch Housewives?
- 18:36Speaker 7: Yes, my mom is obsessed, like obsessed with Keeping Up
- 18:39Speaker 7: with the Kardashians.
- 18:40Speaker 4: In fact, when I told her, like, all of this
- 18:42Speaker 4: was happening with the show, she was like, you're going
- 18:44Speaker 4: to be a Kardashian. She's Hispanic. She's like, Kardashian, you're
- 18:47Speaker 4: going to be a Kardashian.
- 18:50Speaker 5: So she wasn't worried about.
- 18:52Speaker 4: It at all. No, she's all about this. My mom's
- 18:55Speaker 4: an actual pioneer. She's a pioneer. Yeah, she's a pioneer.
- 18:57Speaker 5: No, she is.
- 18:58Speaker 4: What does a pioneer mean?
- 19:01Speaker 8: I grew up watching Little House on the Prairie.
- 19:02Speaker 5: Oh, okay.
- 19:06Speaker 4: And I'm not kidding.
- 19:07Speaker 3: Like, you think I'm joking? It was the Carpenters and
- 19:09Speaker 3: Little House on the Prairie.
- 19:10Speaker 8: Stop it.
- 19:12Speaker 3: No.
- 19:12Speaker 5: The Carpenters as singers, you mean? Oh, yeah. One, two, birds...
- 19:17Speaker 5: Suddenly appear.
- 19:19Speaker 4: You know?
- 19:20Speaker 5: Every time you are near. Well, you know what happened
- 19:25Speaker 5: to her.
- 19:26Speaker 4: I know. God bless.
- 19:28Speaker 9: R.I.P.
- 19:29Speaker 4: But she's amazing.
- 19:31Speaker 5: She's amazing.
- 19:31Speaker 8: And I love that I grew up on the classics. Like,
- 19:34Speaker 8: I will say I had a very.
- 19:36Speaker 3: bubble bubble wrapped safe childhood like my mom was like
- 19:40Speaker 3: close your eyes we'd go to the strip and in
- 19:43Speaker 3: Vegas and she'd.
- 19:43Speaker 4: Be like everyone look forward don't look down don't.
- 19:46Speaker 5: Look up why are you going to the strip in Vegas.
- 19:48Speaker 3: Because my dad wasn't a member of the church and
- 19:50Speaker 3: he liked to gamble yeah.
- 19:52Speaker 5: And I did not and so how many how many
- 19:56Speaker 5: kids um are in your family four in total what
- 19:59Speaker 5: number are you I'm two oh okay and so was
- 20:03Speaker 5: that So was that hard for your mother to marry
- 20:06Speaker 5: a non-Mormon?
- 20:07Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 20:07Speaker 3: They got pregnant actually out of wedlock. And so, and
- 20:12Speaker 3: they came from like, my mom came from like a
- 20:14Speaker 3: very strong Greek Orthodox family who converted to Mormonism. And they're,
- 20:20Speaker 3: Greeks are just intense. We're just very, as I'm sure
- 20:23Speaker 3: you've seen so far.
- 20:24Speaker 8: But we're just intense.
- 20:25Speaker 4: We're passionate.
- 20:26Speaker 8: We, you know, feel things very deep.
- 20:28Speaker 3: And so it was like from Greek Orthodox to Mormonism,
- 20:31Speaker 3: we're all in. And so she got married or she
- 20:33Speaker 3: got pregnant out of wedlock. And her mom was like,
- 20:36Speaker 3: you get married immediately. And so it was just one
- 20:39Speaker 3: of those things.
- 20:39Speaker 5: Where it's like... Are your parents still together today? They are.
- 20:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 20:43Speaker 8: It's been rocky, but still together.
- 20:45Speaker 5: I appreciate you saying that.
- 20:48Speaker 8: Yeah, it was a rocky, rocky road. I mean, as
- 20:50Speaker 8: you can imagine, just the being.
- 20:52Speaker 3: so in the church and then not at all if
- 20:55Speaker 3: you don't have like a even a similarity in like
- 20:59Speaker 3: what you.
- 20:59Speaker 5: Believe you mean with her husband and he never and
- 21:02Speaker 5: he's never come around no he.
- 21:03Speaker 3: Got baptized when i was 16 so now he is
- 21:06Speaker 3: mormon yes but majority of my childhood it was like
- 21:09Speaker 3: what is going on like it was such a stark
- 21:11Speaker 3: contrast and.
- 21:12Speaker 5: Did your dad enjoy drinking or no Yes.
- 21:15Speaker 4: So he drank and smoked and did all the things.
- 21:19Speaker 3: And it was just the type of thing where he
- 21:20Speaker 3: would hide it from my mom or hide it from us.
- 21:23Speaker 4: It was just toxic.
- 21:24Speaker 3: You know, it was there was no gray. My mom
- 21:27Speaker 3: was like, this is right. This is wrong. And so
- 21:31Speaker 3: in my mind, it was always like my dad's bad.
- 21:33Speaker 3: My mom's good. And that's never healthy for a kid
- 21:36Speaker 3: to like grow up thinking that about their parents, you know.
- 21:38Speaker 3: So it definitely created some weird weirdness in my mind.
- 21:45Speaker 10: They think you're done for the day, but they don't
- 21:48Speaker 10: know about the drawer. The drawer. Just the one square
- 21:53Speaker 10: before bed. Or two, you know.
- 21:58Speaker 6: Nobody's watching.
- 21:59Speaker 5: You deserve a treat.
- 22:04Speaker 10: With eight flavours to choose from, you can choose the
- 22:06Speaker 10: flavour you favour with Cadbury Dairy Milk.
- 22:15Speaker 9: I'm Darman, and this is What Happens Next. Each week
- 22:18Speaker 9: on the show, I sit down with extraordinary people who
- 22:21Speaker 9: have faced tremendous setbacks and yet somehow have found a
- 22:26Speaker 9: way to turn them into their greatest strengths.
- 22:28Speaker 6: Life is one long lesson of chaos. I'm heading to
- 22:32Speaker 6: the Emmys, and I have police complaints filed against me.
- 22:35Speaker 6: When your free will was about to be taken from you,
- 22:37Speaker 6: what would you do if it was given back?
- 22:40Speaker 9: Where did that need come from where you thought that
- 22:42Speaker 9: you had to succeed in order to feel loved?
- 22:45Speaker 5: He said, I have a work dad.
- 22:46Speaker 4: I need a home dad.
- 22:47Speaker 5: What happens next? When I came in, he started crying.
- 22:50Speaker 9: Everybody in life encounters hardships. What defines them is not
- 22:54Speaker 9: those hard moments that they go through.
- 22:56Speaker 8: It's about what happens next.
- 22:58Speaker 5: I decided to risk it all. I realized how valuable
- 23:01Speaker 5: every day was.
- 23:01Speaker 6: You're worth the work.
- 23:02Speaker 4: Listen, Dara, I'm not going to pull punches.
- 23:05Speaker 8: You can use your voice even if it's shaped.
- 23:07Speaker 9: The stories are different, but the impact is the same.
- 23:10Speaker 9: Only one question matters. What happens next?
- 23:21Speaker 5: So I grew up Catholic, and I remember my mom
- 23:24Speaker 5: being like, oh, they're Mormon down the street. And the
- 23:26Speaker 5: girl did get pregnant. And I remember her sitting on
- 23:30Speaker 5: the lawn pregnant, and I felt sort of sorry for her.
- 23:33Speaker 5: And then we never knew, like, I think they maybe
- 23:36Speaker 5: gave the baby up for adoption or whatever. And so
- 23:39Speaker 5: I never really understood what the difference was between Catholic, Christian, Protestant, Mormon.
- 23:45Speaker 5: And then when I was in a mom's group, I
- 23:47Speaker 5: met this girl who was raised Catholic who married this
- 23:50Speaker 5: Mormon guy. And he actually was a director of all
- 23:53Speaker 5: these TV shows. And I went to her house and
- 23:55Speaker 5: she was like, oh, would you want this bottle of champagne?
- 23:58Speaker 5: And I go, oh, yeah, she she you know, they're Mormon.
- 24:03Speaker 5: They don't drink. And I'm like, yeah, I go, who
- 24:04Speaker 5: would give you that? You know, and she's like, oh,
- 24:07Speaker 5: every time my husband gets a job, his agent, his
- 24:10Speaker 5: Hollywood agent gives him a bottle of champagne. I'm like,
- 24:12Speaker 5: doesn't he know that he's Mormon? And she's like, no.
- 24:14Speaker 5: And please don't tell anybody. Because we could be like
- 24:18Speaker 5: blackballed from Hollywood, from working. Oh, I believe it. So
- 24:21Speaker 5: he had to act like, you know, whatever, like he wasn't.
- 24:25Speaker 5: And that's when I was like, wait, is that really
- 24:29Speaker 5: true that people can't be who they are in Hollywood?
- 24:33Speaker 5: And it is true to an extent, for sure. Or
- 24:36Speaker 5: just keep your mouth shut or just don't share your
- 24:38Speaker 5: actual feelings. And so I was like, oh. And so
- 24:42Speaker 5: I kept asking her, I'm like, what is the difference?
- 24:45Speaker 5: And So in the most simple way that I understand
- 24:49Speaker 5: it and tell me if I'm wrong and then we'll
- 24:51Speaker 5: move on to the juicy stuff, because I think so
- 24:54Speaker 5: many people don't really understand. We all hear about the
- 24:57Speaker 5: garments and the being strict and you believe in Jesus.
- 25:00Speaker 5: But is it that you believe that Jesus? What is
- 25:04Speaker 5: the difference that you believe that Jesus was not not
- 25:08Speaker 5: in Jerusalem, but in Utah or just a prophet from
- 25:11Speaker 5: Utah or. got sent these messages and created a religion
- 25:15Speaker 5: from Jesus. Which is it?
- 25:18Speaker 3: Yeah, we believe in the Jesus that you believe in.
- 25:21Speaker 3: We are the Bible meets the Book of Mormon.
- 25:25Speaker 8: We call it the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.
- 25:28Speaker 3: So it fell off and then it came back through
- 25:30Speaker 3: Joseph Smith and was restored through Joseph Smith, the prophet.
- 25:34Speaker 8: So it's the same Jesus, the.
- 25:36Speaker 7: Same God that you're taught about in And people think
- 25:39Speaker 7: that we're trying to make the Book of Mormon like
- 25:44Speaker 7: replace the Bible. That's not the case at all. It's
- 25:46Speaker 7: just another testament of Jesus Christ.
- 25:48Speaker 5: So we love the Bible.
- 25:49Speaker 4: And yeah.
- 25:50Speaker 5: Okay, good. Like I think that's, you know, and then
- 25:54Speaker 5: we know that for many years polygamy has not been
- 25:58Speaker 5: part of the church, but it was 200 years ago
- 26:01Speaker 5: it was. Kind of for a short.
- 26:06Speaker 3: Period of time during the time of restoring the gospel
- 26:09Speaker 3: and bringing people back.
- 26:11Speaker 7: From my understanding is it was with the intention of
- 26:15Speaker 7: trying to convert as many people as possible. And I mean,
- 26:19Speaker 7: I don't know too much about like the details of
- 26:22Speaker 7: like the history and whatnot, but.
- 26:24Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 26:25Speaker 7: I mean, we believe that more women are probably going
- 26:27Speaker 7: to go to heaven than men just because there are
- 26:29Speaker 7: more women. And so, yeah, it was the intention with
- 26:32Speaker 7: trying to convert as many people. And because, like, we
- 26:36Speaker 7: value the temple so much and going through the temple,
- 26:40Speaker 7: it was the intention of trying to get as many
- 26:42Speaker 7: women as we could to get through the temple. Oh, OK.
- 26:47Speaker 5: Good.
- 26:47Speaker 3: OK.
- 26:47Speaker 5: So, you know, as I'm watching this, you know, it
- 26:51Speaker 5: seems like there's a big question of, oh, my gosh.
- 26:54Speaker 5: you know, how angry the church must be that you
- 26:57Speaker 5: guys are giggling and having fun, you know, whatever. And
- 27:03Speaker 5: I believe whether they've told you this or not, but
- 27:06Speaker 5: I think the Mormon church loves this. I think they
- 27:09Speaker 5: love it as they, I don't even think they're mad
- 27:12Speaker 5: about Real Housewives of Salt Lake City either, because if
- 27:16Speaker 5: the whole thing is to let people know about the
- 27:19Speaker 5: word and you, and you, the, you know, the youth
- 27:21Speaker 5: goes off for two years and, How better to get
- 27:25Speaker 5: the word out than through influencers and reality TV and
- 27:28Speaker 5: showing fun, happy people that are still taking the elements
- 27:32Speaker 5: from the church to live the best of their life.
- 27:36Speaker 7: Right.
- 27:37Speaker 5: For sure.
- 27:37Speaker 7: I can't tell you how many people who have gotten
- 27:40Speaker 7: baptized after watching the Book of Mormon story play. Like
- 27:45Speaker 7: I know countless of people and. They just converted because
- 27:49Speaker 7: or just out of curiosity. They're like, OK, wait, what
- 27:52Speaker 7: is this religion all about?
- 27:53Speaker 4: This is crazy. And ended up reading the Book of
- 27:56Speaker 4: Mormon and then got baptized.
- 27:58Speaker 7: So, yeah, I'm also seeing this as an opportunity to
- 28:01Speaker 7: like share more about our faith. And also, like, I
- 28:04Speaker 7: hope everyone can see our friend group and anyone who
- 28:07Speaker 7: doesn't feel like they would be welcome.
- 28:09Speaker 4: They can see our friend group and think.
- 28:11Speaker 5: Oh, wait.
- 28:11Speaker 3: Oh, wait.
- 28:12Speaker 4: They're crazy too.
- 28:12Speaker 8: Wait.
- 28:13Speaker 5: Yes.
- 28:13Speaker 8: I can be crazy. They're not that.
- 28:15Speaker 4: Just like me.
- 28:15Speaker 8: No, like literally.
- 28:16Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 28:17Speaker 3: Like they're really, they're out here trying to figure out
- 28:20Speaker 3: their way. They're out here trying to figure out their
- 28:22Speaker 3: path and they're stumbling and falling just like me. Like
- 28:25Speaker 3: we're not these butter churning, bonnet wearing.
- 28:27Speaker 5: Speaking of butter churning and influencers, how do you guys
- 28:30Speaker 5: feel about Ballerina Farms who I've talked about on the show?
- 28:33Speaker 4: I'm obsessed with her. She's awesome.
- 28:35Speaker 5: So just to remind you guys, this is the girl
- 28:36Speaker 5: that was A ballerina fell in love with her husband.
- 28:39Speaker 5: The husband comes from a lot of money. The dad
- 28:42Speaker 5: owns JetBlue. But now they have a farm and a
- 28:45Speaker 5: very successful business together where they make food and food
- 28:49Speaker 5: that you can buy. And she's got nine million followers.
- 28:52Speaker 5: And there was a big backlash about her because she
- 28:56Speaker 5: did an interview. And the author of the interview, the journalist,
- 29:00Speaker 5: people believe that she wrote it to be that this
- 29:03Speaker 5: woman was trapped.
- 29:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:05Speaker 5: And then she came forward and said, no, I'm not,
- 29:08Speaker 5: you know, trapped. So I do feel like her videos
- 29:11Speaker 5: are very much like Little House on the Prairie, making
- 29:14Speaker 5: the things from scratch.
- 29:17Speaker 8: There's beauty in that.
- 29:18Speaker 4: Oh, yes.
- 29:18Speaker 8: Listen, I'm here for it.
- 29:20Speaker 3: And I think people will be so quick to find
- 29:23Speaker 3: the negative or find the hole that they can just
- 29:26Speaker 3: be like, well, I feel that way in some way.
- 29:28Speaker 3: So they must feel that way, too. And at the
- 29:30Speaker 3: end of the day, like there's seasons of life. And
- 29:33Speaker 3: maybe this is her season of life. And then she
- 29:35Speaker 3: goes and finds something for herself that she loves even
- 29:37Speaker 3: more than this. Or maybe this is her thing that
- 29:39Speaker 3: she loves.
- 29:40Speaker 8: For herself. I don't know.
- 29:41Speaker 4: I think it's I don't think it's fair to say
- 29:44Speaker 4: that she's trapped.
- 29:47Speaker 3: Like there's a lot of people that enjoy being a
- 29:49Speaker 3: mother that enjoy being a homemaker and a wife like
- 29:53Speaker 3: that's OK. And I hope that we showcase that in
- 29:56Speaker 3: our show as well, because we got a couple homesteaders.
- 29:59Speaker 3: We got people who are just like, I'm headed into
- 30:01Speaker 3: that era myself. I'm like, I've done this for 10 years.
- 30:04Speaker 3: My goal is to take opportunities that I can turn
- 30:06Speaker 3: into passion projects such as yourself and like have that
- 30:09Speaker 3: be something that I always do to have that creative outlet,
- 30:12Speaker 3: but also to be able to focus on like my family.
- 30:15Speaker 3: I would love to homestead. I would love to have
- 30:18Speaker 3: like things that I create myself at home and like
- 30:20Speaker 3: be a mom and a wife at home. And so
- 30:23Speaker 3: I think it's okay to want that.
- 30:24Speaker 5: And I think it's.
- 30:25Speaker 3: Okay to have that season of life as well. And
- 30:28Speaker 3: then be like, Hey, now I want to be a
- 30:30Speaker 3: boss bitch. And like, just focus on that. Like Jesse
- 30:32Speaker 3: in our group, you know?
- 30:33Speaker 5: So you, Jesse's the one who has the hair, the
- 30:37Speaker 5: hair business.
- 30:38Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 30:38Speaker 3: And you can't have it all, all the time, but
- 30:40Speaker 3: that's why I like to say the seasons of life,
- 30:42Speaker 3: like you ebbs and flows and you move through it.
- 30:44Speaker 5: And I want to say as a woman, you, you
- 30:46Speaker 5: could have it most.
- 30:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:47Speaker 5: No one can have it all.
- 30:48Speaker 4: No one can have it all.
- 30:49Speaker 8: Yes.
- 30:50Speaker 5: But, um, so yeah, So you are married to an Affleck.
- 30:56Speaker 4: Yes.
- 30:57Speaker 5: So explain how he is related to Ben Affleck, your husband.
- 31:01Speaker 4: Yes.
- 31:02Speaker 7: So he is my father-in-law's second cousin. So my husband's
- 31:10Speaker 7: dad's second cousin.
- 31:11Speaker 5: Oh, okay.
- 31:13Speaker 8: Yes.
- 31:13Speaker 7: And I mean, I haven't met him, Ben Affleck specifically.
- 31:18Speaker 7: Zach hasn't met him, but his dad has, and it
- 31:22Speaker 7: like was a long time ago at like a family reunion.
- 31:24Speaker 5: So then somewhere, somewhere down the line from these grandparents
- 31:28Speaker 5: that were siblings, one became Mormon because Ben was not
- 31:34Speaker 5: raised Mormon. He was born in Massachusetts, Boston.
- 31:36Speaker 4: I actually don't know for sure. I don't think he.
- 31:40Speaker 1: Was, but.
- 31:41Speaker 5: You know what? I don't know either, but I would
- 31:42Speaker 5: guess just being Boston is probably, you know, an Irish
- 31:45Speaker 5: Catholic thing, but that's just. stereotype. Who knows?
- 31:48Speaker 4: Yes. I'd love to ask him. Ben, were you raised Mormon?
- 31:52Speaker 8: Ben, do you know who the Mormons are?
- 31:58Speaker 5: Okay. So, and then you met your husband where?
- 32:02Speaker 4: I met my husband through mutual.
- 32:04Speaker 9: Oh, okay.
- 32:04Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 32:05Speaker 7: We come from completely different families. There's no way we.
- 32:07Speaker 5: Would have ever crossed paths. But were you raised Mormon?
- 32:09Speaker 7: Yes.
- 32:09Speaker 4: I was raised Mormon.
- 32:10Speaker 9: Yes.
- 32:10Speaker 5: Oh, okay.
- 32:11Speaker 7: Okay.
- 32:11Speaker 5: Great.
- 32:11Speaker 9: Yes.
- 32:12Speaker 5: And I thought it was really interesting on the episode.
- 32:14Speaker 5: You said, that your mom works at the same hospital
- 32:17Speaker 5: as his dad, but his dad's a heart surgeon and
- 32:21Speaker 5: your mom is in janitorial? Yeah.
- 32:24Speaker 7: So she's literally a cleaning lady in the hospital, which
- 32:27Speaker 7: is so crazy.
- 32:28Speaker 4: And that was before you met? Yeah, for the most part.
- 32:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:32Speaker 4: But we didn't even really like put two and two together.
- 32:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:35Speaker 4: That's how different our families are.
- 32:37Speaker 5: But they get along well?
- 32:38Speaker 9: Yes.
- 32:39Speaker 7: I was raised with foster kids and yeah, I shared
- 32:42Speaker 7: my bedroom with, these children my whole life.
- 32:45Speaker 4: Shared my closet.
- 32:45Speaker 5: Oh, your mom took in foster children. Yes, yes. Oh,
- 32:47Speaker 5: that's lovely.
- 32:48Speaker 7: And Zach, you know, definitely was just, I was raised
- 32:52Speaker 7: poor and he was raised with a lot of money.
- 32:55Speaker 4: And yeah, I mean, it's funny.
- 32:57Speaker 7: I feel like I relate to Ballerina Farms so much
- 33:00Speaker 7: because in a way, I mean, I don't know if
- 33:01Speaker 7: she personally came from money, but being, marrying into a
- 33:05Speaker 7: wealthy family when you don't come from a lot of
- 33:07Speaker 7: family and having the same religion and can cause a
- 33:12Speaker 7: lot of issues and expectations. But I love seeing just
- 33:17Speaker 7: Ballerina Farm and how she handles everything because I feel
- 33:23Speaker 7: like she, I don't know, sorry, I'm going all over
- 33:28Speaker 7: the place.
- 33:28Speaker 5: No, no, no, I understand what you're saying. Well, I
- 33:31Speaker 5: think what's really interesting is, I think the reason that
- 33:36Speaker 5: Mormons in America, there's so many that are successful, And
- 33:40Speaker 5: have successful businesses is because they do make them go
- 33:43Speaker 5: out and be rejected for two years straight.
- 33:46Speaker 4: That's the hardest thing you can do.
- 33:47Speaker 5: I mean, that's being the best salesman in the world
- 33:49Speaker 5: is that you don't let the rejection keep you going.
- 33:51Speaker 5: And I think you get that training as trying to
- 33:55Speaker 5: recruit people to the church and how many people must
- 33:56Speaker 5: say no and get away and look at you like
- 33:58Speaker 5: a weirdo. And then you do your business and you
- 34:01Speaker 5: have that same, like, tough skin. And then also I
- 34:03Speaker 5: think pushing people to get married young, also you're not– And,
- 34:10Speaker 5: you know, I'm just bringing it up. You're not fucking
- 34:12Speaker 5: around in Vegas spending your money on bottle service all
- 34:16Speaker 5: throughout your 20s and 30s.
- 34:18Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 34:19Speaker 5: You're actually like, okay, let's work really hard so we
- 34:21Speaker 5: can buy this house. Okay, now.
- 34:23Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 34:23Speaker 5: But then you might wake up at 28 and go,
- 34:26Speaker 5: would you like to go swing?
- 34:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 34:27Speaker 5: Because I didn't get to go to the bottle service
- 34:29Speaker 5: in Vegas. So there's the, you know, the switcheroo. Yes.
- 34:33Speaker 7: And not only that, like, I feel like in the
- 34:35Speaker 7: Mormon culture, like, everyone's all about image and how you
- 34:39Speaker 7: look and looking perfect and I think that causes like
- 34:43Speaker 7: comparison and it causes people to you know just like
- 34:47Speaker 7: meeting up with the Joneses it causes people to like
- 34:50Speaker 7: want to be better than the other person and that's
- 34:52Speaker 7: where I think you know the success you know comes
- 34:57Speaker 7: in within like the Mormon culture and why so many
- 34:59Speaker 7: people are successful is just you know there's just so
- 35:03Speaker 7: much comparison and so much like, okay, who can look
- 35:06Speaker 7: the best, be the best type of thing.
- 35:07Speaker 5: Well, that's also kind of interesting, too, because, you know, vanity,
- 35:12Speaker 5: it's oftentimes that's one of the seven sins, right? Yes.
- 35:16Speaker 5: But I guess it's okay to look as pretty as
- 35:19Speaker 5: you want. You can go to the beauty lab, Heather
- 35:22Speaker 5: Gay's beauty lab, and it was one of the scenes
- 35:25Speaker 5: as you guys are getting Botox, which I never got
- 35:28Speaker 5: in my 20s, but go for it. And prevent that shit. And, um,
- 35:33Speaker 5: And I've never heard, I mean, I just got it
- 35:35Speaker 5: the other day at Dr. Nassif's office, and I didn't
- 35:39Speaker 5: have any, I didn't even have numbing cream. But you
- 35:43Speaker 5: guys are doing laughing gas.
- 35:45Speaker 4: I've never heard of that. That's next level.
- 35:47Speaker 5: That is something that they only do. in Utah. I've
- 35:51Speaker 5: never heard of someone eating laughing gas for a Botox shot.
- 35:55Speaker 4: Yeah, I've never heard of that actually. I've never had
- 35:57Speaker 4: that done, but that's next level.
- 35:59Speaker 8: You've done that?
- 35:59Speaker 9: Yes.
- 36:00Speaker 4: Oh my God. It's amazing. It's a game changer. You
- 36:02Speaker 4: don't feel a thing.
- 36:04Speaker 5: And then you get a little high, a little fun high.
- 36:05Speaker 3: Yes, it's great.
- 36:06Speaker 8: I'm like, we're having a good time with my girlfriends.
- 36:08Speaker 4: We're laughing, getting Botox. It's great.
- 36:09Speaker 5: Because some of you drink and some of you don't.
- 36:12Speaker 9: Yes.
- 36:12Speaker 4: There's only one person.
- 36:13Speaker 5: You don't drink, right?
- 36:14Speaker 4: No, I don't drink.
- 36:14Speaker 5: And do you?
- 36:15Speaker 3: I don't.
- 36:15Speaker 4: I used to. I don't.
- 36:16Speaker 5: Oh, you used to.
- 36:17Speaker 8: I did for a short stint post-divorce.
- 36:19Speaker 5: It was a dark time.
- 36:21Speaker 8: So you got married before.
- 36:22Speaker 5: This current husband. And this current husband is a bit
- 36:26Speaker 5: older than you.
- 36:26Speaker 4: He is, yeah.
- 36:27Speaker 8: 16 years older.
- 36:28Speaker 4: Okay.
- 36:29Speaker 5: And so what was your first marriage about?
- 36:31Speaker 8: We, so I had an age gap in my first
- 36:33Speaker 8: marriage as well.
- 36:34Speaker 5: Oh, okay.
- 36:35Speaker 9: 12 years.
- 36:36Speaker 8: And I was 18 when I met him. He was 29.
- 36:39Speaker 8: Is that the right math?
- 36:40Speaker 3: Yeah. We got married at 20 and 31. So just
- 36:44Speaker 3: a similar story in the Mormon culture where you just,
- 36:47Speaker 3: I'm 20 years old getting married.
- 36:49Speaker 8: I'm older. I'm married to an older guy who has
- 36:51Speaker 8: lived life, gone through college.
- 36:52Speaker 5: Was he Mormon too?
- 36:53Speaker 2: Yes.
- 36:54Speaker 3: Yes.
- 36:54Speaker 8: And he still is very straight.
- 36:55Speaker 5: And did you have any kids with him?
- 36:56Speaker 2: Yes.
- 36:57Speaker 8: So that's my daughter.
- 36:58Speaker 5: Oh, that's your one biological child, and then you have two-step,
- 37:01Speaker 5: because then how did you find your husband that we
- 37:04Speaker 5: see on the show?
- 37:05Speaker 8: So I've known of him through family friends. We have
- 37:08Speaker 8: kind of a wild story.
- 37:09Speaker 5: Well, let's hear it. It's called Juicy Scoop for a reason.
- 37:14Speaker 8: We joke around.
- 37:15Speaker 3: And say, I've known him since I was 10, and
- 37:17Speaker 3: he was 26, and he was married with, I think,
- 37:20Speaker 3: one kid at the time.
- 37:21Speaker 8: Such a wild thing.
- 37:22Speaker 3: But the crazy thing is we never really crossed paths.
- 37:25Speaker 3: We never met each other.
- 37:26Speaker 5: But you knew him because of the church?
- 37:28Speaker 10: No.
- 37:29Speaker 3: So his family has a wild story. So his sister
- 37:32Speaker 3: was married to Larry King. His dad managed Marie Osmond
- 37:35Speaker 3: for 35 years.
- 37:36Speaker 5: Oh, wow.
- 37:38Speaker 3: And they were just in the entertainment industry. And so
- 37:40Speaker 3: everyone kind of knew the Engelmans and knew the Kings.
- 37:43Speaker 3: And my best friend's dad was good friends with the Engelmans.
- 37:47Speaker 3: And so I grew up like knowing of him. He
- 37:49Speaker 3: was the star quarterback at BYU, the Mormon school in Provo.
- 37:55Speaker 3: And so I just had always heard of him and
- 37:56Speaker 3: I was like, he's so hot. Like I was just
- 37:58Speaker 3: had like this little girl crush on him.
- 38:00Speaker 4: Yeah. I was like, I don't know.
- 38:02Speaker 8: I've always liked older men.
- 38:03Speaker 4: She's always been into the daddies.
- 38:04Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 38:06Speaker 3: Yeah. Um, so he gets married, has kids. I'm growing
- 38:11Speaker 3: up and he gets divorced, um, gets remarried. And I
- 38:16Speaker 3: had known of his second wife and we both were
- 38:18Speaker 3: kind of like, Ooh, are we sure?
- 38:20Speaker 4: Whatever. It didn't last long.
- 38:21Speaker 8: He was married for like five months, ended up playing
- 38:23Speaker 8: out the way that we all thought.
- 38:24Speaker 4: Gets divorced.
- 38:25Speaker 3: So my husband and I, my ex-husband at the time,
- 38:28Speaker 3: or my husband, my ex-husband, we run into Brett at
- 38:32Speaker 3: the gym.
- 38:32Speaker 8: And we're like, what is going on? Like, why? Like,
- 38:35Speaker 8: what is your luck? Like, you need to go on
- 38:37Speaker 8: The Bachelor or something. And he was like, never. I
- 38:40Speaker 8: never would. And we're like, no, we're literally nominating you.
- 38:42Speaker 4: You're going. You are perfect. You're such a catch.
- 38:45Speaker 8: Like, you need to go. He was like, don't you dare.
- 38:46Speaker 5: And you're saying this. with your current first husband.
- 38:50Speaker 3: Yes.
- 38:50Speaker 5: To this one that then became your second husband. Yes.
- 38:53Speaker 5: All while you're doing, were you doing squats while you
- 38:55Speaker 5: were having this conversation?
- 38:56Speaker 4: Yes, no hip thrusts.
- 38:57Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 38:57Speaker 4: Hip thrusts, I knew it.
- 38:59Speaker 5: And were you thinking anything like, I still have a
- 39:02Speaker 5: crush on this guy and I'm not really happy with
- 39:04Speaker 5: my current husband or everything was peachy at this moment?
- 39:07Speaker 3: I always thought Brett was cute, but I was super like,
- 39:11Speaker 3: I think I was pretty freshly married to my husband
- 39:14Speaker 3: and we were navigating all of those waters. So it
- 39:16Speaker 3: was more just like, oh my gosh, I've had a
- 39:18Speaker 3: crush on you like most of my life.
- 39:19Speaker 8: This is crazy, you know? And crazy that I haven't
- 39:22Speaker 8: run into you more.
- 39:23Speaker 3: And my ex-husband was working on like a business deal
- 39:27Speaker 3: with Brett. And they were like trying to make connections
- 39:29Speaker 3: in business. and then he also had connections in the
- 39:32Speaker 3: modeling world was trying to get my daughter to do
- 39:34Speaker 3: like modeling gigs what whatever so they had been in
- 39:36Speaker 3: contact so ran into him we're like we're nominating you
- 39:39Speaker 3: he was like don't you dare like I'll kill you
- 39:41Speaker 3: guys I could never do it not for me We
- 39:44Speaker 3: go home. We nominate him. They call him the next day,
- 39:47Speaker 3: and they're like, get out here.
- 39:48Speaker 8: It was Claire's season.
- 39:49Speaker 5: Oh, wow.
- 39:50Speaker 4: So they call him out.
- 39:51Speaker 3: He does all the B-roll, all the interviews, everything, geared up,
- 39:55Speaker 3: ready to go. And I had had a few friends
- 39:56Speaker 3: that had been on Bachelor, so I knew how it worked.
- 39:58Speaker 3: I saw that they had to take their Instagram pages down,
- 40:00Speaker 3: and I'd followed Brett since I was, like, 18 years old.
- 40:02Speaker 4: And I was like, oh, my gosh, he's there. Like,
- 40:04Speaker 4: his page is down. He's there. Crazy. So two months
- 40:07Speaker 4: goes by. I'm like, I can't wait to see this. Like,
- 40:10Speaker 4: we made this happen.
- 40:10Speaker 8: This is insane.
- 40:12Speaker 3: And then one day I see him posting that he
- 40:14Speaker 3: like something football related to his sons. And I'm like,
- 40:17Speaker 3: what is going on? Like, why is he posting? Like
- 40:19Speaker 3: they haven't even filmed yet. So I messaged him like,
- 40:22Speaker 3: what is going on?
- 40:22Speaker 5: Like, why?
- 40:23Speaker 4: Why? How do you have your account up?
- 40:25Speaker 8: And he responds. He's like, they sent everyone home because
- 40:27Speaker 8: of COVID.
- 40:29Speaker 3: The day before he met COVID time. So they sent
- 40:34Speaker 3: everyone home the night before he met Claire. And they
- 40:39Speaker 3: came home. Meanwhile, I'm going through it with my husband.
- 40:42Speaker 3: We're like, are we figuring this out? Are we not
- 40:45Speaker 3: therapy back and forth, back and forth?
- 40:47Speaker 8: Finally, I'm like, I can't do it anymore. So we separate.
- 40:50Speaker 8: Brett comes home. And like a few weeks later, we connect,
- 40:54Speaker 8: hit it off.
- 40:55Speaker 5: How did you connect? He deemed you back.
- 40:57Speaker 3: Yeah, so he actually mentioned, he was like, oh, by
- 40:59Speaker 3: the way, I heard back on something related to my ex.
- 41:02Speaker 3: He was like, let him know, I'll call him. And
- 41:03Speaker 3: I was like, funny story, we're actually separated. And he
- 41:05Speaker 3: was like, oh my gosh, I'm so sorry.
- 41:08Speaker 5: Oh, I'm sure he was so sorry.
- 41:09Speaker 4: I'm so sorry, let me come over and we can
- 41:11Speaker 4: call you, yeah.
- 41:12Speaker 8: No, he was definitely.
- 41:14Speaker 5: Like, let's go do some hip dress.
- 41:19Speaker 3: He was respectful and sweet, but he was very much
- 41:21Speaker 3: so like, I've been through this twice.
- 41:23Speaker 8: I know how it goes. This sucks. If you need
- 41:25Speaker 8: anyone to talk about it, I'm here. I'm like, yes,
- 41:29Speaker 8: you are, baby.
- 41:31Speaker 5: How does the father of your child and your new
- 41:36Speaker 5: husband get along now?
- 41:37Speaker 8: Best friends.
- 41:38Speaker 5: Oh, they're okay.
- 41:39Speaker 8: They're okay.
- 41:40Speaker 3: There was a little bit of weirdness in the beginning,
- 41:41Speaker 3: for sure, of just adjusting, but my ex-husband's so mature
- 41:45Speaker 3: and just gets life, and he's like.
- 41:47Speaker 8: Life's complicated.
- 41:48Speaker 5: Does he have a new woman?
- 41:49Speaker 4: He does.
- 41:50Speaker 3: They just got sealed in the Newport Beach Temple like
- 41:53Speaker 3: three days ago.
- 41:54Speaker 5: No way. So here's my question about divorce.
- 41:55Speaker 4: That's where I got sealed. No way.
- 41:57Speaker 5: Okay, so here's my question about divorce. Okay. In the
- 42:00Speaker 5: Mormon church. I know how it works in the Catholic church.
- 42:03Speaker 5: You have to get, what is the name of it? Annulled. Okay.
- 42:08Speaker 7: Okay.
- 42:08Speaker 5: Which is very hard to prove. It's almost like you
- 42:10Speaker 5: got to get your own Catholic lawyer. And then like
- 42:13Speaker 5: anything else, sometimes people throughout history that had more power
- 42:16Speaker 5: and money could get annulled you have to prove that
- 42:19Speaker 5: like there was some type of deception or you know
- 42:22Speaker 5: cheating or it can't just be.
- 42:23Speaker 4: Like we because you want to like we're.
- 42:26Speaker 5: Domestically we don't get along he fucking snores and i
- 42:29Speaker 5: hate his guts it can't be that it has to
- 42:30Speaker 5: be something more and and that's only because you might
- 42:34Speaker 5: want to get married again in the church otherwise you
- 42:37Speaker 5: can get divorced get married you can still go to
- 42:38Speaker 5: church you can still you know whatever So what is
- 42:41Speaker 5: the rule? How is it that you get unsealed and
- 42:43Speaker 5: then get resealed with somebody else in the Mormon church?
- 42:46Speaker 8: It's kind of a process.
- 42:48Speaker 3: So I actually and it's and it's complicated because the
- 42:52Speaker 3: men can technically be sealed to multiple women. But women,
- 42:57Speaker 3: if you want to like if I wanted to get
- 42:58Speaker 3: sealed to Brett, I'd have to break my seal and
- 43:01Speaker 3: I'd have.
- 43:01Speaker 8: To like go get that broken.
- 43:03Speaker 3: Um my ex-husband and his wife were already trying to
- 43:07Speaker 3: get married like they got married civilly first and then
- 43:09Speaker 3: they just got sealed a year later in the Newport
- 43:12Speaker 3: Beach temple and so they went through that process um
- 43:17Speaker 3: and got that seal broken so now at this point
- 43:19Speaker 3: like I can get married to Brett in the temple
- 43:22Speaker 3: no problem so.
- 43:23Speaker 5: But if you didn't do it do you have any
- 43:25Speaker 5: do you have any feeling of like Oh, my God,
- 43:29Speaker 5: if we both died in a car crash tomorrow, I
- 43:32Speaker 5: wouldn't be in heaven with my current husband? I mean,
- 43:36Speaker 5: you don't believe that, right?
- 43:38Speaker 8: No, I just, like, have a firm belief that everything
- 43:40Speaker 8: works out. Like, I think we're doing the best we
- 43:42Speaker 8: can down here. I think we're all a bunch of.
- 43:44Speaker 5: Little kids trying to figure it out. So if you
- 43:45Speaker 5: want to go through that process, you will. Yeah. When
- 43:48Speaker 5: you feel like you have the time or whatever.
- 43:50Speaker 3: Yeah, we're working towards it, for sure. We've definitely been, like,
- 43:53Speaker 3: up and down with the church, with, like.
- 43:56Speaker 3: You know, following all the guidelines and figuring out our
- 44:00Speaker 3: place in that. And so I went through the temple
- 44:02Speaker 3: when I was 20 years old and made a major
- 44:04Speaker 3: commitment that I would wear my garments and that I
- 44:07Speaker 3: would do specific things and go to the temple regularly.
- 44:09Speaker 8: And I wasn't ready to make that decision. And I
- 44:12Speaker 8: think that's a lot of people.
- 44:13Speaker 3: You go out as a 19 year old kid on
- 44:14Speaker 3: a mission and you commit to do all these things.
- 44:16Speaker 3: And it's like, wait, I didn't really know what I
- 44:19Speaker 3: was committing to. And I think it all works out
- 44:21Speaker 3: in the end, like either way. But for us, like, yeah,
- 44:24Speaker 3: we are working towards going to the temple and being sealed,
- 44:26Speaker 3: but I don't worry necessarily that, like, if we were
- 44:29Speaker 3: to die, like, would I ever see you again?
- 44:31Speaker 8: I think we all end up in the same place anyway.
- 44:33Speaker 3: Like, I think majority of us have incredible intentions and
- 44:36Speaker 3: are doing our best, and, like, we'll ultimately end up
- 44:39Speaker 3: where we want to be.
- 44:40Speaker 7: Yeah, and I think a true loving God isn't going
- 44:42Speaker 7: to be like, well, you didn't break your ceiling, and
- 44:44Speaker 7: so you have to be here.
- 44:45Speaker 4: No, a loving God is, you know.
- 44:48Speaker 5: So, I mean, it seems like people... in your circle from,
- 44:51Speaker 5: you know, your, your current husband willing to go on
- 44:54Speaker 5: the bachelor, that reality TV is something that you guys
- 44:58Speaker 5: thought was fun. You maybe kind of always thought in
- 45:00Speaker 5: your head you'd want to do. Was there any, um,
- 45:04Speaker 5: hold back of when you look at like housewives and
- 45:06Speaker 5: things like that and how it can really destroy families,
- 45:09Speaker 5: so many divorces and stuff. Was anybody in your world
- 45:12Speaker 5: being like, I don't think you should do this show.
- 45:16Speaker 7: Oh, my husband personally didn't want to do the show.
- 45:18Speaker 7: And I've, told him, like, no, I really want to
- 45:22Speaker 7: do this. Like, it hasn't been a dream of mine
- 45:24Speaker 7: to be a reality TV star, but it's always been
- 45:26Speaker 7: a dream of mine to be on camera. And I
- 45:28Speaker 7: do feel like taking this opportunity will lead to other opportunities.
- 45:32Speaker 5: So you always kind of wanted to perform and be
- 45:34Speaker 5: an actor, but you didn't necessarily go get an agent,
- 45:37Speaker 5: do these things, which is what is great about reality
- 45:40Speaker 5: TV is that you instantly are a star of a show.
- 45:43Speaker 5: Without having to take all these steps. But then the
- 45:46Speaker 5: other side of it is you don't just take off
- 45:48Speaker 5: your outfit and leave the trailer and be your private
- 45:53Speaker 5: person at home. It's 24-7, really. Especially with social media, too.
- 45:57Speaker 7: No, and at least for me, I really went into
- 46:00Speaker 7: the show with the intention of wanting to share my
- 46:02Speaker 7: own personal story and my journey, which I truly feel
- 46:04Speaker 7: I can inspire non-members and members.
- 46:08Speaker 5: And just.
- 46:09Speaker 7: Yeah, I wanted to make it very clear that we're
- 46:11Speaker 7: all different and our relationship with God looks different. And
- 46:15Speaker 7: I mean, everybody's relationship with God looks different. And yeah,
- 46:20Speaker 7: I think also with my husband going into med school,
- 46:22Speaker 7: I didn't actually feel like we had an option because
- 46:24Speaker 7: being the provider, I saw this as a huge opportunity
- 46:28Speaker 7: for me to be able to.
- 46:29Speaker 4: Make money and help us get through medical school.
- 46:31Speaker 7: Because I personally want to be able to provide and
- 46:33Speaker 7: tell my kids, no, I paid for our medical school.
- 46:36Speaker 4: I got us through it. It was me.
- 46:38Speaker 5: And I.
- 46:39Speaker 7: wanted to be that person for personally my daughter to
- 46:41Speaker 7: let her know that you can do anything you set
- 46:44Speaker 7: your mind to and that looks different.
- 46:47Speaker 4: Like you don't have to go to school.
- 46:48Speaker 7: You could be literally a young mom at home twerking
- 46:51Speaker 7: on her countertop and.
- 46:53Speaker 4: That can pay the bills.
- 46:54Speaker 7: Like you can do anything you set your mind to.
- 46:58Speaker 4: But no, that's really why I personally want to do
- 47:00Speaker 4: the show.
- 47:01Speaker 7: And also just, you know, I also wanted to Yeah,
- 47:05Speaker 7: represent the church in the way that like we are
- 47:07Speaker 7: all different. We're not all like the cookie cutter Mormon
- 47:12Speaker 7: that you see. Like we all like to twerk and
- 47:15Speaker 7: we also like to bake.
- 47:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 47:17Speaker 8: And that there's no cookie cutter.
- 47:19Speaker 3: Like everyone thinks there is this cookie cutter. And I'm
- 47:22Speaker 3: excited to break that stigma.
- 47:24Speaker 4: Yes.
- 47:25Speaker 5: So were there rumblings going around of like we'd love
- 47:29Speaker 5: to focus on a group of Mormon Yangmong TikTokers? I
- 47:35Speaker 5: heard that there was that kind of search among different
- 47:38Speaker 5: production companies, even like what, you know, what could this be?
- 47:41Speaker 5: And then, well, and then the scandal happened when she did.
- 47:44Speaker 5: So then she does this video. Let's get back to Taylor.
- 47:47Speaker 5: She decides to do this video exposing all of this.
- 47:53Speaker 5: And why did she decide to do that? Was it
- 47:56Speaker 5: because she got sucked into social media commentary that had
- 48:00Speaker 5: exposed it somewhere else?
- 48:03Speaker 3: I think that it had been exposed on Reddit, and
- 48:05Speaker 3: I keep getting the story mixed up, so correct me
- 48:07Speaker 3: if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty certain that someone in
- 48:09Speaker 3: the group had exposed her cheating scandal because she ended
- 48:13Speaker 3: up taking it to the point of having sex with
- 48:16Speaker 3: one of them, which that was like crossing their group boundary.
- 48:20Speaker 8: And that got exposed.
- 48:21Speaker 3: So then when she started to look like they were
- 48:24Speaker 3: demonizing her, she came out and was like, I wasn't
- 48:27Speaker 3: the only one involved in this.
- 48:28Speaker 4: Got it.
- 48:29Speaker 5: Okay. Got it. And what was that day like when
- 48:32Speaker 5: you're just like, is your phone just like, like everybody
- 48:37Speaker 5: texting each other or what?
- 48:38Speaker 4: At least for me, I wasn't part of mom talk
- 48:40Speaker 4: when that was going down. I was just like a follower,
- 48:42Speaker 4: like an observer.
- 48:43Speaker 5: I wasn't part of the group.
- 48:44Speaker 4: And for me, I was just like, oh my gosh, like.
- 48:47Speaker 4: I want to know the tea. Like I was like,
- 48:48Speaker 4: give me the tea. It was wild.
- 48:51Speaker 5: And were you friendly? So you were friendly with Taylor?
- 48:54Speaker 5: Oh yeah.
- 48:54Speaker 8: I was at the parties.
- 48:56Speaker 3: I was, um, friends with her. I'd gone to multiple
- 48:59Speaker 3: mom talk events. I had my step sons coming home
- 49:03Speaker 3: from school being like, my teachers and my classmates are
- 49:07Speaker 3: asking me like, if you guys are swingers, like, My
- 49:09Speaker 3: younger one's like, what's a swinger?
- 49:12Speaker 8: You're like, what did you say?
- 49:14Speaker 5: These are your kids that are 19 and 16 years
- 49:16Speaker 5: so what did you say to that I think.
- 49:19Speaker 3: We just were like it's not true and at the
- 49:22Speaker 3: end of the day like it doesn't matter what people
- 49:24Speaker 3: think and like sorry you had to deal with that
- 49:25Speaker 3: but also like it's not true you can either tell
- 49:27Speaker 3: them that or just say none of your business you
- 49:29Speaker 3: know yeah um so I think we just kind of handled.
- 49:32Speaker 8: It the best that we could but it was just wild.
- 49:34Speaker 4: We're like how?
- 49:35Speaker 3: Like I had been a part of mom talk for
- 49:37Speaker 3: a few months and then all of a sudden it's like,
- 49:40Speaker 3: everyone's asking me.
- 49:41Speaker 4: So how was it swinging?
- 49:42Speaker 8: Like, who are you?
- 49:43Speaker 5: Now I want to know, and maybe you have the answer.
- 49:45Speaker 5: You don't, but, Throughout time, or at least the last 10,
- 49:49Speaker 5: 20 years, have there been secret swinging groups within the church? Absolutely. Oh,
- 49:56Speaker 5: so this is like a common thing. And is it
- 49:59Speaker 5: this soft swinging that's like everything but penetration? I don't know.
- 50:02Speaker 4: I think that was specifically just Taylor's situation.
- 50:05Speaker 3: Yeah, that was their way of justifying their behavior, I think. Like,
- 50:08Speaker 3: if we could take it this far but not too far, then.
- 50:11Speaker 4: Until it just became swinging.
- 50:13Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 50:14Speaker 4: Which happens a lot in the Mormon culture, even just.
- 50:17Speaker 5: not related to swinging is like soaking a real thing
- 50:20Speaker 5: oh absolutely yes and soaking is you can put your
- 50:26Speaker 5: your penis in a vagina but don't move but not
- 50:29Speaker 5: thrust so then you have your friend jump on the
- 50:31Speaker 5: bed so it would so that it's it's so that
- 50:35Speaker 5: it's but is that that is all a real thing
- 50:37Speaker 5: this is not like a joke so then you have
- 50:39Speaker 5: your friend jump on the bed so then you're not
- 50:42Speaker 5: thrusting but you're inadvertently being able to thrust and get
- 50:45Speaker 5: some pleasure out of it.
- 50:47Speaker 8: Yeah, it's very strange at that point. Just do it.
- 50:49Speaker 5: Right?
- 50:51Speaker 4: No, at that point, it's real. What's the intention behind it? Yeah,
- 50:56Speaker 4: it's the same, so just do it. It's the same. Gazing, docking, soaking.
- 50:59Speaker 5: What's gazing?
- 51:00Speaker 4: Durfing. Gazing is like they take their clothes.
- 51:03Speaker 8: Off and you just look at them.
- 51:04Speaker 5: Okay, and then what's the next one?
- 51:06Speaker 8: Docking is when you just dock it.
- 51:09Speaker 4: Soaking.
- 51:10Speaker 5: Oh, dock the boat, but don't rock it.
- 51:12Speaker 4: Don't rock it.
- 51:13Speaker 5: Okay, go.
- 51:14Speaker 4: Don't you dare rock it. That's cute.
- 51:15Speaker 5: Okay, what else?
- 51:16Speaker 4: I didn't even know this.
- 51:17Speaker 8: Soak, I'm pretty certain, is the one where you, like,
- 51:20Speaker 8: have a buddy help you out.
- 51:21Speaker 5: Okay.
- 51:21Speaker 3: Jump on the bed. And then derfing is just the
- 51:24Speaker 3: high school, you know. Just dry humping.
- 51:27Speaker 5: Oh, zipper sparking. That's my favorite.
- 51:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 51:29Speaker 4: She's like high school.
- 51:31Speaker 5: I love it. Dry hump is all it's about. Okay,
- 51:37Speaker 5: so let's get into, okay, so Whitney. What I love
- 51:40Speaker 5: about the show is, I know we've talked a lot
- 51:43Speaker 5: about more in Mormons in the title, but I really
- 51:45Speaker 5: think something that I think is more universal to why
- 51:50Speaker 5: you'd like the show is that to me, it's really
- 51:53Speaker 5: the behind the scenes of these social media TikTok stars
- 51:57Speaker 5: that you see. And you feel like you have so
- 51:59Speaker 5: much insight into their home because you're watching their videos.
- 52:03Speaker 5: But this is really like, oh, I have this sponsor. Oh,
- 52:07Speaker 5: and then a little bit of the jealousy that goes on.
- 52:10Speaker 5: Like it's really great when people collaborate, but there is
- 52:13Speaker 5: also that kind of jealousy when you bring someone on
- 52:16Speaker 5: And you tag them and they get all these followers
- 52:18Speaker 5: and then later on they blow you off or they
- 52:21Speaker 5: feel entitled or they have an opportunity and they don't
- 52:24Speaker 5: invite you to do the big video with the star.
- 52:27Speaker 3: You just described the whole world literally in a few sentences.
- 52:33Speaker 5: But I think that's what I think is kind of
- 52:35Speaker 5: a very interesting conversation that hasn't really been had yet.
- 52:38Speaker 5: And I think we kind of see it. So we
- 52:40Speaker 5: see this girl, Whitney, who she takes off. after the
- 52:45Speaker 5: scandal for a couple months, and then comes back with
- 52:49Speaker 5: her husband, Connor, and she has a couple kids. And
- 52:52Speaker 5: we see Connor, and she reveals to you guys that
- 52:56Speaker 5: the reason she left is that, again, on the Reddit
- 53:00Speaker 5: or whatever, it was revealed that he was on Grindr.
- 53:04Speaker 4: Grindr?
- 53:05Speaker 5: No, I'm just kidding.
- 53:07Speaker 4: It's Tinder. Oh, I was like... It's Tinder.
- 53:10Speaker 5: I was like.
- 53:11Speaker 8: Newsflash.
- 53:12Speaker 4: I just wanted to see if you guys would catch
- 53:13Speaker 4: my joke. Oh my gosh.
- 53:15Speaker 8: I was like, did you know this?
- 53:17Speaker 3: Am I new?
- 53:17Speaker 4: I haven't seen it. So I'm like, oh no, it's
- 53:20Speaker 4: way worse than we thought. That got me so good.
- 53:25Speaker 5: No, but I was watching it. I was like, oh,
- 53:27Speaker 5: I know the joke I'm going to tell. Oh my gosh.
- 53:29Speaker 5: I was like, yes, I think I would have grossed her.
- 53:32Speaker 5: But whatever, they say Tinder. So she says he's flirting
- 53:35Speaker 5: with people on Tinder, but he never met sort of person.
- 53:39Speaker 2: Yes.
- 53:39Speaker 8: Can you imagine?
- 53:40Speaker 7: Yes.
- 53:41Speaker 5: Oh, no.
- 53:41Speaker 8: What's mutual?
- 53:42Speaker 4: A Mormon dating app. That's how I met my husband.
- 53:45Speaker 5: Oh, okay.
- 53:48Speaker 4: Grindr's way worse.
- 53:49Speaker 9: Yes.
- 53:50Speaker 5: Oh, yeah. But, no, it was Tinder, and that comes
- 53:53Speaker 5: out that he was, you know, flirting. And what I
- 53:56Speaker 5: really thought was juicy, and I had seen this going around.
- 54:00Speaker 5: I never put two and two together. I recently just
- 54:04Speaker 5: saw someone post. like a couple days ago, let's never
- 54:08Speaker 5: forget this moment where this mom danced as her kid was,
- 54:12Speaker 5: you know, in the NICU. And so Whitney reveals that
- 54:16Speaker 5: she does have some, well, she won't say she's jealous,
- 54:19Speaker 5: but the girls think that she's jealous of Taylor because
- 54:23Speaker 5: Taylor got to easily bounce back in her mind from
- 54:28Speaker 5: the forms of comments people made.
- 54:31Speaker 3: Which can I add, she's still bouncing back from. So
- 54:33Speaker 3: that is so false that it was just like a
- 54:36Speaker 3: bounce back.
- 54:36Speaker 4: Like she deals with that daily.
- 54:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 54:40Speaker 3: And it weighs heavy on their relationship. I was talking
- 54:42Speaker 3: to Dakota about it the other day and he was like.
- 54:44Speaker 5: And Taylor is Dakota's. I mean, Dakota is Taylor's. Boyfriend.
- 54:47Speaker 5: Boyfriend and also the father of her child. Because after this,
- 54:51Speaker 5: after the swinging thing, she gets divorced. She has two
- 54:54Speaker 5: kids with that husband. And then she meets this other
- 54:57Speaker 5: guy who also, is he a TikTok influencer person? He is, yeah.
- 55:02Speaker 4: He does social media.
- 55:04Speaker 3: And it's crazy because everyone thinks that he's the guy
- 55:06Speaker 3: that she cheated with.
- 55:07Speaker 8: In every article, it's Dakota, who she had the affair with.
- 55:10Speaker 3: And just to clear that up, that is not true.
- 55:13Speaker 3: She didn't know Dakota in the midst of the swinging stuff.
- 55:17Speaker 3: So that was a completely new relationship post-swinging, post-divorce.
- 55:21Speaker 5: And what's interesting about Dakota is he comes along And
- 55:26Speaker 5: he is honest about his addiction. He was addicted to fentanyl.
- 55:31Speaker 5: Thank God he got out of that.
- 55:32Speaker 4: I know.
- 55:34Speaker 5: But he's a real cute guy and happy to be
- 55:37Speaker 5: on camera like everybody else, which I think is good.
- 55:40Speaker 5: I think you've got to have everyone down to put
- 55:41Speaker 5: on the mic. And then he– so with him, then
- 55:48Speaker 5: he comes along and they have a baby. Well, they
- 55:52Speaker 5: get pregnant and unfortunately she miscarries. But then she gets
- 55:55Speaker 5: pregnant again and we see her pregnant in the show.
- 55:57Speaker 5: And that baby is six months old. And they are
- 55:59Speaker 5: not married yet. No. But they've had their issues because
- 56:05Speaker 5: they've had cops called when wicked fights have happened. Neighbors
- 56:08Speaker 5: have called cops. So she's kind of like going through
- 56:15Speaker 5: some stuff.
- 56:16Speaker 8: For sure.
- 56:16Speaker 5: So Whitney thinks that she bounced back too quickly. And
- 56:20Speaker 5: Whitney's bitter because Whitney... Had a scare with her son
- 56:26Speaker 5: with RSV. Is that what it's called? Yeah. With like
- 56:28Speaker 5: an infantile breathing situation. It can be really scary. And
- 56:32Speaker 5: then when she got better.
- 56:35Speaker 8: When she got better.
- 56:36Speaker 5: When she got better news that the child was doing better.
- 56:39Speaker 9: Yes.
- 56:40Speaker 5: The child was still not at home. The child was
- 56:43Speaker 5: in still a hospital situation with a plastic crib wrapped up.
- 56:48Speaker 5: And then she started to do the dance where you
- 56:51Speaker 5: do the writing, where it's like, when you're happy that
- 56:54Speaker 5: your child, da-da-da-da-da-da-da. And she did the hit.
- 56:58Speaker 3: The way she's describing the situation, I'm dead.
- 57:01Speaker 8: In a plastic crib wrapped up. It is like the most...
- 57:06Speaker 8: Like when you put it that way, I'm like.
- 57:08Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, it would kind of be different if
- 57:10Speaker 5: she was like, my baby's home. I'm feeding him or whatever.
- 57:15Speaker 5: Or like, oh my God, we made it back. And
- 57:18Speaker 5: so she's like, the intention was just, I was just
- 57:20Speaker 5: so happy. I had to dance about it. But then,
- 57:24Speaker 5: was it you? Wait, was it you? Kind of reveal.
- 57:28Speaker 8: Was it in Park City?
- 57:30Speaker 5: You sort of reveal that. At one time, she was vulnerable,
- 57:34Speaker 5: which I won't give everything away. And she said, I
- 57:37Speaker 5: did it because I wanted to get that attention and
- 57:40Speaker 5: likes and all of that stuff. And, you know, that
- 57:44Speaker 5: is just part of our world now.
- 57:46Speaker 3: I know.
- 57:46Speaker 5: And I believe everybody that has more than 100 followers
- 57:51Speaker 5: is thirsty.
- 57:51Speaker 4: 100%.
- 57:52Speaker 5: If you are on Facebook and it's only 86 people
- 57:56Speaker 5: because you want to show your kid off to grandma,
- 57:58Speaker 5: I believe you're not thirsty.
- 57:59Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 58:00Speaker 5: If you have 87 people... You're thirsty. You're thirsty. You're
- 58:04Speaker 5: trying it. You're trying to do something with this. You're
- 58:07Speaker 5: on it. You're active. You are like, I need to
- 58:10Speaker 5: feel like what was the response to this? And, you know,
- 58:16Speaker 5: many of us make a living out of at it
- 58:18Speaker 5: and then others don't. And you get wrapped up just
- 58:20Speaker 5: like anything else. You see that you weren't invited to
- 58:22Speaker 5: a party and that makes you sad. You see that
- 58:25Speaker 5: a lot of people liked your your thing. And it's just.
- 58:29Speaker 5: It's just part of our world, and I don't really
- 58:30Speaker 5: think it should be criticized anymore because it's part of
- 58:32Speaker 5: our world.
- 58:33Speaker 3: Yeah, but I will say this, that I think she
- 58:36Speaker 3: wanted the same treatment that Taylor was receiving, which she
- 58:39Speaker 3: wasn't receiving good treatment. But I think that the difference
- 58:43Speaker 3: that people saw was that she was willingly putting her son,
- 58:47Speaker 3: who was obviously not doing well, on camera doing the
- 58:51Speaker 3: dance right there, and regardless of what the intentions were
- 58:53Speaker 3: or what was going on behind camera, Taylor didn't create
- 58:57Speaker 3: her scandal like it just happened right and so I
- 59:01Speaker 3: think the difference was no you actually went on and
- 59:03Speaker 3: put the video on and did this whole thing you
- 59:06Speaker 3: yourself uploaded that and did that whereas Taylor anything that's
- 59:09Speaker 3: been shared has been, besides the video of her coming
- 59:12Speaker 3: on after it had already leaked, has been against her will.
- 59:15Speaker 4: And so that's the difference there.
- 59:18Speaker 3: And why I even said anything in the first place
- 59:20Speaker 3: was because I think it was Macy that was kind
- 59:23Speaker 3: of defending her. Well, her intentions, I'm like, but she's
- 59:25Speaker 3: the one that posted it. And she admitted that that
- 59:27Speaker 3: was her intentions. And so that's the difference in that situation.
- 59:31Speaker 3: But I also go on record saying that TikTok, especially
- 59:35Speaker 3: then when she posted that, was wild, wild west. Everyone
- 59:38Speaker 3: was throwing up the most gnarly.
- 59:39Speaker 4: Videos to see what would stick. It was such a
- 59:42Speaker 4: new platform.
- 59:43Speaker 8: And so I give her grace because I did the
- 59:45Speaker 8: same thing.
- 59:46Speaker 4: I've deleted so many videos that.
- 59:47Speaker 8: I'm like, ew, cringy.
- 59:49Speaker 4: Why would I say that? Why would I post that?
- 59:51Speaker 8: Ew, that kind of exposes my daughter a little bit.
- 59:53Speaker 4: I don't like that.
- 59:53Speaker 8: That exploits her a little bit.
- 59:54Speaker 4: Like, so.
- 59:56Speaker 5: I do think there's been more of a mirror now
- 59:59Speaker 5: where we do talk about, you know, I mean, a
- 1:00:02Speaker 5: big part of it, and that was going to get
- 1:00:03Speaker 5: to my next question, is, and I've talked a lot
- 1:00:06Speaker 5: about it on this show, I think Illinois is the
- 1:00:08Speaker 5: first state to make a law that children should be
- 1:00:11Speaker 5: getting money from the parents making money off of social media.
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: Yeah, I agree.
- 1:00:17Speaker 5: So if you had a big... cereal brand come to
- 1:00:22Speaker 5: you and your child's eating it and you do it
- 1:00:26Speaker 5: and you get 20 grand, then you should put 15,
- 1:00:29Speaker 5: 20% into an account for your child. That's a really
- 1:00:31Speaker 5: good idea. Especially because she's using.
- 1:00:34Speaker 4: People have... We were Hollywood kids. We had an agent....
- 1:00:46Speaker 5: My sister made a lot of money off of it,
- 1:00:49Speaker 5: way more than me, that she went on to be
- 1:00:51Speaker 5: an attorney. And back then, I remember they were like, yeah,
- 1:00:55Speaker 5: we're getting an addition. And they were like, thanks to
- 1:00:58Speaker 5: Shannon's Bold 3 commercial.
- 1:01:01Speaker 8: My sister doesn't care.
- 1:01:04Speaker 5: They paid for her college and law school. Well, actually,
- 1:01:07Speaker 5: she paid for her own law school. But had she
- 1:01:10Speaker 5: become the Disney star and then I was driving a
- 1:01:14Speaker 5: Mercedes and I had a big house and then my
- 1:01:18Speaker 5: sister at 30 wasn't making that money again, that would
- 1:01:21Speaker 5: seem pretty fucked up.
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: You know what I mean?
- 1:01:23Speaker 5: So it's like, I think now, because there's no rules
- 1:01:26Speaker 5: like that, like there is now for TV... I think
- 1:01:30Speaker 5: they're trying to do it. But I think you can
- 1:01:32Speaker 5: consciously do it. Maybe that can be something you can
- 1:01:35Speaker 5: share with other influencers. And then also just being really
- 1:01:38Speaker 5: careful that with some of these children that are just
- 1:01:42Speaker 5: so attractive and cute, and then people point out like, well,
- 1:01:46Speaker 5: this has been shared 18 million times. Now why has
- 1:01:49Speaker 5: this child eating a lollipop or a popsicle been saved
- 1:01:53Speaker 5: 18 million times?
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: The world is so disgusting.
- 1:01:56Speaker 5: And so I think you have to think about And
- 1:01:59Speaker 5: then they kind of point out, oh, this mom knows
- 1:02:03Speaker 5: that by having her daughter eat a hot dog and
- 1:02:06Speaker 5: a popsicle, it does better. And there has been cases
- 1:02:09Speaker 5: like that. Then if it's just her colorings. Or being like,
- 1:02:15Speaker 5: I want SpaghettiOs or whatever.
- 1:02:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:02:17Speaker 5: So it's kind of, it's weird. But I think in
- 1:02:20Speaker 5: the show we barely see your kids, at least the
- 1:02:22Speaker 5: first four episodes. I don't really see the kids at all.
- 1:02:24Speaker 8: We all were very purposeful.
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:02:26Speaker 7: It's really, yeah, it's really hard trying to figure that
- 1:02:29Speaker 7: out because, you know, part of us, you know, wants
- 1:02:32Speaker 7: to share like our mom life and what that's like
- 1:02:35Speaker 7: and our children because that's literally our life. But it's
- 1:02:38Speaker 7: also hard because we also want to protect our children
- 1:02:41Speaker 7: and the world is so scary.
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: So.
- 1:02:43Speaker 7: I think a lot of us are trying to figure
- 1:02:44Speaker 7: out that balance and what is best for our family.
- 1:02:48Speaker 5: Right. And then the husbands, you know, it's like you
- 1:02:51Speaker 5: got to protect those husbands because I don't I haven't
- 1:02:56Speaker 5: seen a lot in which the men could really be
- 1:02:58Speaker 5: criticized for. You have a. a blessing and your husband
- 1:03:03Speaker 5: is like, well, we want to keep it smaller. We
- 1:03:05Speaker 5: just want to keep it with the group that is actively.
- 1:03:09Speaker 8: She hasn't made it to Vegas yet.
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: She hasn't made it to Vegas.
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: What?
- 1:03:12Speaker 5: Oh, I haven't made it to Vegas yet. Oh, something
- 1:03:14Speaker 5: happens where he gets mad. Okay, so, but get ready
- 1:03:18Speaker 5: for a lot of people coming out. Now, hopefully he'll
- 1:03:21Speaker 5: be so busy in medical school that he won't see
- 1:03:23Speaker 5: his DMs or I would take him off.
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: Yes, and you know what? He doesn't care.
- 1:03:27Speaker 5: Honestly, I would maybe not have my husband on it.
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:03:30Speaker 5: On social.
- 1:03:30Speaker 4: And you know what?
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:03:32Speaker 5: Because I don't think they need to see, like, anybody
- 1:03:35Speaker 5: say that. I think what always happens with housewives' husbands
- 1:03:39Speaker 5: is these guys' traditional housewife husband is, let's say he's 50.
- 1:03:45Speaker 5: He's made a lot of money. He's like, sure, darling,
- 1:03:47Speaker 5: let's be on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Then
- 1:03:51Speaker 5: everyone's like, you were a dick at breakfast. You have
- 1:03:53Speaker 5: no jawline. And he's like, what? I have no jawline.
- 1:03:57Speaker 5: I'm a businessman. What?
- 1:03:59Speaker 8: I made it.
- 1:04:00Speaker 5: And then I think he starts fighting with her. And
- 1:04:02Speaker 5: then she's like, well, fuck you. This is my thing.
- 1:04:04Speaker 5: And I'm going to keep doing the show. The next
- 1:04:06Speaker 5: thing you know, there's another divorce. And so I think
- 1:04:10Speaker 5: I personally would just, if I was ever to be
- 1:04:12Speaker 5: on something like that, and I wasn't me. I was
- 1:04:15Speaker 5: just a girl that had never really been on TV.
- 1:04:17Speaker 5: I'd be like, yeah, my husband's not on social.
- 1:04:19Speaker 7: Yeah, no, that's definitely something we're also trying to figure out.
- 1:04:22Speaker 7: But he's also like in a way.
- 1:04:23Speaker 5: Also weird women will want to DM them and fish
- 1:04:28Speaker 5: and flirt just so that they can get clout and
- 1:04:30Speaker 5: they can do a TikTok and they're like, hi, look
- 1:04:33Speaker 5: who wrote me back.
- 1:04:35Speaker 4: No, absolutely.
- 1:04:36Speaker 7: As of right now, I feel like my husband's just
- 1:04:38Speaker 7: feeding into it because he's like, it's reality TV. Like
- 1:04:41Speaker 7: we're almost seeing this as a job now, like not
- 1:04:43Speaker 7: something that we're actually doing. trying to take home, even
- 1:04:46Speaker 7: though that's kind of what happened in our situation. But
- 1:04:49Speaker 7: moving forward, we're like, yeah, let's just like feed into this. And,
- 1:04:53Speaker 7: you know, as long as our relationship is good at home,
- 1:04:55Speaker 7: then we move forward with this.
- 1:04:57Speaker 4: If not, then maybe we have to step away from it.
- 1:05:00Speaker 5: Do you know any of the Real Housewives of Salt
- 1:05:03Speaker 5: Lake City women?
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: I don't, but you do. I do, yes. I know
- 1:05:06Speaker 4: a few. I've known of Whitney for a long time,
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: kind of like a family.
- 1:05:09Speaker 5: Yeah, you guys kind of have a similar story. Second marriage, older.
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: Oh, that's right.
- 1:05:13Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:05:14Speaker 8: It's very similar.
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:05:16Speaker 4: I didn't sign the papers to be taken off the
- 1:05:19Speaker 4: church's list.
- 1:05:20Speaker 5: Oh, that's right. They went through that. Their whole thing
- 1:05:22Speaker 5: is leaving the church. Bad Mormon.
- 1:05:24Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:05:24Speaker 5: Does that bother you at all as a Mormon, that
- 1:05:28Speaker 5: stuff being put out there? You don't care.
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: Again, everybody has their own story.
- 1:05:31Speaker 5: That's good.
- 1:05:32Speaker 4: And I think everyone should be able to share their story.
- 1:05:34Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: If we're allowed to talk about the things that we
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: are in our perspective, then other people should too. Yeah.
- 1:05:39Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:05:40Speaker 5: And so you kind of know her.
- 1:05:41Speaker 4: Yeah, I kind of know her. I've met Lisa a
- 1:05:43Speaker 4: couple of times. Brett's ex-wife.
- 1:05:46Speaker 5: I love that. I love that for you. Do you
- 1:05:48Speaker 5: like the Vita tequila? It's so wonderful.
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: I've never had it, but I'm sure it would be wonderful.
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: Brett's ex-wife was a friend of on the show.
- 1:05:59Speaker 4: Oh. Her name's Angie Harrington.
- 1:06:01Speaker 5: Oh, I had her on my show.
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: What?
- 1:06:03Speaker 5: Yeah, I had Angie on.
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: No way.
- 1:06:05Speaker 4: Blonde Angie. Yeah.
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:06:07Speaker 5: And are you friendly with her?
- 1:06:08Speaker 8: Yeah, we all co-parent really great.
- 1:06:10Speaker 5: I can't complain about our situation. Yeah, I remember that
- 1:06:14Speaker 5: she said that when she came on.
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:06:15Speaker 5: She was nice. Yeah. Good.
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: So yeah, there's some connections.
- 1:06:20Speaker 5: So you have, I feel like there was tentacles of
- 1:06:22Speaker 5: reality TV like touching you.
- 1:06:24Speaker 4: For sure.
- 1:06:24Speaker 5: Like it's like inevitable.
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: It was like it's coming for me and now it's
- 1:06:28Speaker 3: got me and now I got to make sure it
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: doesn't get me.
- 1:06:30Speaker 5: Right. I got to stay connected.
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: Humble and awake and just try to be purposeful in
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: how I move forward with it.
- 1:06:39Speaker 5: So do you think they're going to get jealous?
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: Who?
- 1:06:43Speaker 5: The Housewives of Salt Lake City.
- 1:06:45Speaker 4: Oh, for sure. I think so.
- 1:06:47Speaker 8: I would be.
- 1:06:50Speaker 5: I think so. I would be a little jealous just
- 1:06:53Speaker 5: because I feel like there's a new era. But I feel,
- 1:06:57Speaker 5: and I've talked about this because I kind of analyze
- 1:06:59Speaker 5: Housewives as well as have fun and do impressions of them.
- 1:07:02Speaker 5: I feel like, you know, the actual Real Housewives franchise,
- 1:07:05Speaker 5: they redid New York. And I feel like Hulu and,
- 1:07:10Speaker 5: you know, Jeff Jenkins, who's the producer of your show,
- 1:07:13Speaker 5: it's smart to kind of find different entities of this
- 1:07:19Speaker 5: brand of watching women who are moms and friendships Different demographics,
- 1:07:24Speaker 5: different ages, not necessarily all young.
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:07:26Speaker 5: You know, they're going to, like, they're doing Snowbirds, which
- 1:07:29Speaker 5: is going to be about New Yorkers who, you know,
- 1:07:32Speaker 5: are kind of early retirement age in Palm Beach. I
- 1:07:35Speaker 5: just think it's fun to watch different groups of people
- 1:07:38Speaker 5: in America, like, you know.
- 1:07:40Speaker 4: And kind of see. Different seasons of life.
- 1:07:42Speaker 5: Yeah, and that Snowbirds is going to have, like, a
- 1:07:43Speaker 5: gay couple. It's not going to be all women.
- 1:07:45Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:07:45Speaker 5: Like, there's going to be different kind of things that
- 1:07:47Speaker 5: you can see, but. I mean, personally, I'd be a
- 1:07:50Speaker 5: little bit, not that there's one or the other, but
- 1:07:53Speaker 5: I'd be a little bit like, I thought we were
- 1:07:54Speaker 5: the only thing happening in Salt Lake City.
- 1:07:56Speaker 7: Well, I think the thing that made Real Housewives of
- 1:07:59Speaker 7: Salt Lake City stick out was them being associated with Mormonism.
- 1:08:03Speaker 8: But now that's, like, our whole show.
- 1:08:05Speaker 4: Like, we're literally called the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:08:09Speaker 7: I mean, I could see how that's threatening for them.
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:08:12Speaker 4: And we just have, I feel like we also have
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: so much.
- 1:08:17Speaker 7: Like there's just so many more factors to our show.
- 1:08:20Speaker 7: We have Mormonism and we're young. So that means that
- 1:08:24Speaker 7: we also relate to the younger crowd.
- 1:08:26Speaker 5: Much longer time. Yes.
- 1:08:28Speaker 7: And the older crowd as well as TikTok, the swinging scandal.
- 1:08:32Speaker 7: I mean, there's just so many, so many factors to
- 1:08:35Speaker 7: our show.
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: The biggest thing that sets us apart is that I
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: feel like there has been this longstanding notion in society
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: to watch women tear each other apart and tear each
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: other down and compare who wore the dress better and
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: who did this better and whose husband, you know, who
- 1:08:52Speaker 3: did he marry next and all these things. Whereas in
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: our group, we genuinely are friends like we all are friends.
- 1:08:58Speaker 4: We talk every single day.
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: Day.
- 1:09:00Speaker 8: We get together very frequently.
- 1:09:02Speaker 4: We call each other when we're in a bind with
- 1:09:04Speaker 4: our kids and watch each other's kids.
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: And I feel like it's very typical for reality TV.
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: They film, they leave. And they come back, and they film,
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: and they catch up, and then they leave. And a
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: lot of them don't remain friends.
- 1:09:17Speaker 5: Don't hang out during shooting.
- 1:09:18Speaker 4: Don't hang out during shooting. I mean, not shooting. Didn't
- 1:09:21Speaker 4: they sign papers to not see each other off.
- 1:09:25Speaker 5: Camera, too? No.
- 1:09:26Speaker 4: That's not a thing?
- 1:09:27Speaker 5: No, they could see each other. They actually would want
- 1:09:30Speaker 5: them to. They get mad if they get together on camera.
- 1:09:35Speaker 5: I've been there at the Real Housewives of OC years ago,
- 1:09:39Speaker 5: and we filmed... Heather Dubrow's, do you watch Real Housewives
- 1:09:43Speaker 5: of Seattle? No. Oh, so this girl had a groundbreaking, like,
- 1:09:46Speaker 5: let's break the ground. We're going to build this house.
- 1:09:49Speaker 5: So she invited me. We were friendly. I came out
- 1:09:51Speaker 5: to it. And then that was it. The shooting was done.
- 1:09:54Speaker 5: And then that night, a couple of the other girls go,
- 1:09:57Speaker 5: let's go to Mastro's Steakhouse. Let's go to Shannon Bedore's house.
- 1:10:02Speaker 5: And somehow a producer was texting, and he was so
- 1:10:06Speaker 5: pissed that they were, like, getting together. And possibly talking
- 1:10:10Speaker 5: shit about one of the housewives, and the cameras weren't
- 1:10:12Speaker 5: there to see it.
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:10:14Speaker 5: And it was like, oh, no. There's a little bit
- 1:10:17Speaker 5: of that. Now, many people feel that Bravo being held,
- 1:10:23Speaker 5: being kind of from men that started Bravo, gay men, whatever,
- 1:10:29Speaker 5: misogynistic in some way, that these men... are sort of
- 1:10:33Speaker 5: controlling these Barbies, you know? And I think people, women
- 1:10:37Speaker 5: now are starting to see that like, wait a minute,
- 1:10:41Speaker 5: what it, what it was this fuckery that we've watched
- 1:10:43Speaker 5: for 15 years. Now, how do you think that you
- 1:10:47Speaker 5: guys can navigate that not happening? That, that the powers
- 1:10:51Speaker 5: that be won't be as, do you feel that the,
- 1:10:54Speaker 5: it's not like that on your show?
- 1:10:56Speaker 4: Yeah. I, what do you think? Cause I feel like
- 1:10:59Speaker 4: it is different. I feel like it's a different vibe
- 1:11:02Speaker 4: for sure.
- 1:11:02Speaker 7: No, and I feel like our producers have been, for
- 1:11:05Speaker 7: the most part, amazing. And I feel like they want
- 1:11:09Speaker 7: it to be as authentic as possible. And for it
- 1:11:11Speaker 7: to be authentic, we still need our relationships outside of
- 1:11:17Speaker 7: it and things to be separate from the show because
- 1:11:19Speaker 7: these are real friendships.
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: And I think they noticed that and they valued that.
- 1:11:23Speaker 7: And they also took, not took advantage of that, but
- 1:11:26Speaker 7: also monetized off of that because you'll see in this show,
- 1:11:30Speaker 7: we're our complete authentic selves. We're completely vulnerable, and I
- 1:11:34Speaker 7: think that's why we got such a good show is
- 1:11:38Speaker 7: because of that.
- 1:11:39Speaker 4: I think it's rare.
- 1:11:40Speaker 5: Well, I'm going to also say something about my generation.
- 1:11:43Speaker 5: We are awful. We are meaner than the millennials. We
- 1:11:47Speaker 5: are more jealous. We are bitchier. We are like the
- 1:11:51Speaker 5: show Heathers, the movie Heathers.
- 1:11:53Speaker 4: It's a different thing.
- 1:11:58Speaker 5: And some of us grew out of it and are lovely,
- 1:12:01Speaker 5: and some of us are still coming after. And I
- 1:12:05Speaker 5: think that sometimes the fandom of Bravo and Housewives, it
- 1:12:09Speaker 5: is so much because they love the girls and they're
- 1:12:12Speaker 5: cool and everything, but then there's this weird jealousy between
- 1:12:16Speaker 5: the fan at home and the star, and they'll bring
- 1:12:19Speaker 5: them up and they'll tear them down and they go
- 1:12:22Speaker 5: at each other. It's like a different kind of thing,
- 1:12:24Speaker 5: and I've noticed in watching... younger women and their relationships
- 1:12:29Speaker 5: and treating each other and Gen Z as well, it
- 1:12:33Speaker 5: is different. And there is a lot of positivity in
- 1:12:36Speaker 5: the younger generation of women that is kind of fun
- 1:12:40Speaker 5: to watch too.
- 1:12:41Speaker 4: Yeah, it is definitely the generation of learning better, doing better.
- 1:12:45Speaker 8: And I do like that.
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: And I'm excited to bring that element into the show
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: and for people to have some wholesome in the reality
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: TV world. Not that there's not, there's bits and pieces,
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: but I really hope people walk away feeling empowered and
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: like watch it and they they're not feeling like, oh,
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: I need therapy after that.
- 1:13:02Speaker 8: They're feeling like I'm inspired by that.
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:13:04Speaker 5: Well, I'm so glad that you guys came. Tell everybody
- 1:13:06Speaker 5: where they can follow you personally.
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: OK.
- 1:13:09Speaker 4: On TikTok and Instagram. Demi, Lucy May on TikTok and Instagram. Yes.
- 1:13:15Speaker 4: Jennifer Affleck. Just think of J-Lo and Ben Affleck. Jennifer Affleck.
- 1:13:19Speaker 4: TikTok and Insta.
- 1:13:21Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:13:21Speaker 4: You're the new.
- 1:13:22Speaker 5: Now you can do this.
- 1:13:23Speaker 4: I'm the one and only Jen Affleck. I'm the last
- 1:13:25Speaker 4: one standing.
- 1:13:26Speaker 5: She said, yeah, it was Jennifer Affleck, Jennifer Gardner Affleck,
- 1:13:30Speaker 5: then Jennifer Lopez Affleck.
- 1:13:32Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:13:32Speaker 5: And now there's just one Jen Affleck.
- 1:13:35Speaker 4: I'm the last one standing.
- 1:13:36Speaker 5: I love it. And of course, Mormon Wives is on Hulu.
- 1:13:40Speaker 5: Starts September 6th. You can binge it. You can... Separate it,
- 1:13:45Speaker 5: you know, those Mormons like sweets, but you can't have
- 1:13:48Speaker 5: it all in one sitting. So separate your dessert or
- 1:13:51Speaker 5: just watch it all. And then follow the girls to
- 1:13:54Speaker 5: get all the latest scoop and all their beauty hacks
- 1:13:58Speaker 5: and everything because you guys are all so cute, beautiful skin.
- 1:14:00Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 1:14:01Speaker 5: Lovely.
- 1:14:02Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 1:14:03Speaker 5: So good meeting you.
- 1:14:04Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 1:14:05Speaker 5: Once again, you guys, you're going to go to HeatherMcDonald.net.
- 1:14:07Speaker 5: That is where you're going to buy your tickets to
- 1:14:09Speaker 5: the live show. Note that there's been some changes. The
- 1:14:13Speaker 5: changes will be reflected on that website. And I hope
- 1:14:16Speaker 5: to see you guys at one of these shows. And
- 1:14:19Speaker 5: thank you so much. Remember, Patreon, all new, Friday, all

- 1:14:26Speaker 6: The car is beautiful.
- 1:14:28Speaker 5: Where did you end up going for it?
- 1:14:29Speaker 6: This exclusive place that Dad has connections with. They have
- 1:14:32Speaker 6: more cars for more dealerships than like anywhere else.
- 1:14:35Speaker 5: You have to put me in touch. What's it called?
- 1:14:37Speaker 6: It's Dune ADL.
- 1:14:39Speaker 10: Where?
- 1:14:42Speaker 6: There's an accent on the E.
- 1:14:45Speaker 5: Do you mean.
- 1:14:45Speaker 6: Yes, I got it on Done Deal Cars.
- 1:14:47Speaker 9: Lift, please.
- 1:14:48Speaker 5: Are you going past Kimmage? Oh, Kimmage.
- 1:14:51Speaker 9: No.
- 1:14:52Speaker 6: Done Deal Cars. You couldn't possibly go anywhere else.
