- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome back to SEC football addiction. Talking a little Ole
- 0:03Speaker 1: Miss LSU game of the week. Maybe the game of
- 0:06Speaker 1: the year in the SEC. We'll see how it goes down.
- 0:08Speaker 1: But Lane Kiffin comes back to Oxford, Mississippi for all
- 0:11Speaker 1: the drama that will happen off the field. We'll talk
- 0:13Speaker 1: about what happens on the field too, just a little bit.
- 0:15Speaker 1: But we are presented by PrizePix, where all new users
- 0:18Speaker 1: who play a $ 5 lineup and win get $ 150 in
- 0:21Speaker 1: lineups instantly if they use code HMA.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Will, this game has so many storylines off the field.
- 0:27Speaker 2: On the field.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Is it fair to say that the quarterback battle, though
- 0:34Speaker 1: I will lean Ole Miss pretty heavily here, may be
- 0:37Speaker 1: closer than a lot of people would have expected?
- 0:40Speaker 2: Have you been pretty impressed with Levitt so far?
- 0:42Speaker 3: I really have been. I had my concerns about him
- 0:44Speaker 3: health-wise coming into the year. He's going to be totally fine.
- 0:48Speaker 3: When it came to decision-making, he looked very good so
- 0:51Speaker 3: far this year. Now, once again, it was Louisiana Tech,
- 0:53Speaker 3: and who knows what Clemson really is, but at least
- 0:56Speaker 3: that first game was a massive spot, massive pressure. He
- 0:59Speaker 3: played so well. And, I mean, he looked very good.
- 1:03Speaker 3: That running game around him has looked incredible, which obviously
- 1:05Speaker 3: makes his job way easier. He has such an embarrassment
- 1:08Speaker 3: of riches in that receiver room to throw to. So
- 1:11Speaker 3: Levin has looked incredible, but when you go back to
- 1:13Speaker 3: what Chambliss did, I mean, through that first half against Louisville,
- 1:16Speaker 3: you kind of saw everybody tweeting it out at the
- 1:17Speaker 3: same time, like, Man, Lane Kiffin's gone, man, and Chambliss
- 1:20Speaker 3: is going to come back to earth. Then in the
- 1:22Speaker 3: second half, he scored, what, like 34 points, and he
- 1:24Speaker 3: put all that to rest. So both these quarterbacks seem electric.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Chambliss has not lost a step. He's still back to
- 1:29Speaker 3: where he was last year. Seeing these two guys duel
- 1:32Speaker 3: it out, it'd be pretty great if we got like
- 1:34Speaker 3: a touchdown for touchdown instead of like a punt for
- 1:36Speaker 3: punt game here. Really got to go see both quarterbacks
- 1:39Speaker 3: really shine and just have an awesome day. Kind of like,
- 1:41Speaker 3: I think it was, wasn't it like Baker and Patrick Mahomes?
- 1:43Speaker 3: And a while ago, we had like a thousand yards
- 1:46Speaker 3: of total offense. We'll get that. But just a game
- 1:48Speaker 3: like that style would be incredible to watch.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Who the way that we saw Ole Miss's defense in
- 1:55Speaker 1: the second half against Louisville. Now I'm kind of high
- 1:58Speaker 1: on Keenholz and I think Louisville is going to be
- 2:00Speaker 1: a good team this year, but I'm also high on
- 2:02Speaker 1: LSU and I'm high on, you know, Leavitt Ole Miss's
- 2:05Speaker 1: defense where they're, issues there? In that second half against Louisville,
- 2:12Speaker 1: was it just kind of like, hey man, they make
- 2:14Speaker 1: plays too? Does that worry you in this matchup where
- 2:17Speaker 1: LSU's offense certainly has shown the potential through two games
- 2:21Speaker 1: to get up and get rolling?
- 2:22Speaker 3: It does a little bit. I think it worked out
- 2:24Speaker 3: pretty well for Ole Miss that they kind of got
- 2:26Speaker 3: embarrassed in the And it didn't cost them a loss.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Because now you clearly have that problem. It's looking you
- 2:33Speaker 3: right in the face. You saw Golden get upset about
- 2:35Speaker 3: it in the middle of the game. It's very clear
- 2:36Speaker 3: that they identified it. But it didn't cost them a
- 2:39Speaker 3: loss in this era where two or three losses. Well,
- 2:41Speaker 3: three losses definitely kills you. And two might. So they
- 2:43Speaker 3: were able to get away with it to escape it.
- 2:45Speaker 3: And I think you're right. Louisville's offense is incredibly strong.
- 2:48Speaker 3: And there wasn't any tape on what Keen Holtz is
- 2:50Speaker 3: going on to do with Trey Richardson there and all
- 2:52Speaker 3: those guys. Now there's tape on what LSU wants to do.
- 2:55Speaker 3: And more importantly for Pete Golding, he knows exactly what
- 2:58Speaker 3: Lane and Charlie Weiss want to do. He's been in
- 3:00Speaker 3: their heads for years. It goes for LSU's way too
- 3:04Speaker 3: as to what Pete wants to do defensively. But there's
- 3:06Speaker 3: just so much familiarity there where I do think Ole
- 3:08Speaker 3: Miss' defense, they'll have a better day than they did
- 3:11Speaker 3: against Louisville if not because of now they're used to it,
- 3:14Speaker 3: it's week three, but because of what that environment might
- 3:16Speaker 3: be able to do to LSU's offense.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Where are the, I've been, I've been on this bandwagon
- 3:24Speaker 1: that Ole Miss has the best quarterback running back combo
- 3:26Speaker 1: in the entire country, not.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Just the conference. And I know there's good ones everywhere.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Like I know people hear that and be like, no,
- 3:31Speaker 2: it's our guy.
- 3:32Speaker 1: But like, I don't know. That's a, that's a hill
- 3:33Speaker 1: that I'm willing to die on. I mean, that's the
- 3:37Speaker 1: path to a win, right? Like it's gotta be on those,
- 3:40Speaker 1: you know, not to take away from anybody else on
- 3:42Speaker 1: Ole Miss's team and just, I'm not calling them a
- 3:44Speaker 1: two player team, but But in a game like this,
- 3:47Speaker 1: against an opponent like this, with all the off-field crap,
- 3:50Speaker 1: which I guess we haven't even gotten to yet, maybe
- 3:52Speaker 1: we will, maybe we won't, but it's got to be
- 3:55Speaker 1: on those two guys' back. Not that they don't have
- 3:57Speaker 1: more talent, but you need your superstars to be superstars
- 4:00Speaker 1: against a top-five-ish team in the country.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, Ole Miss had all those stars last
- 4:04Speaker 3: year in the Sugar Bowl, but who do you remember?
- 4:05Speaker 3: You remember Trinidad and Kiwan Lacy going bonkers for 60 minutes.
- 4:09Speaker 3: When Ole Miss is at their best, it really is
- 4:12Speaker 3: because those two guys are just unstoppable. So Hopefully, we
- 4:15Speaker 3: do have Lacey at 100%. He did play last week
- 4:17Speaker 3: against Charlotte after getting banged up against Louisville, so I
- 4:19Speaker 3: do think he'll be good. If those two guys are
- 4:21Speaker 3: at full speed the entire game, that is definitely Ole
- 4:23Speaker 3: Miss' recipe for success because then even once LSU finally
- 4:26Speaker 3: is like, okay, you two are not beating us. Oh,
- 4:28Speaker 3: there goes Deuce Alexander. He just scored from their own
- 4:30Speaker 3: 15-yard line. So the depth of talent at Ole Miss
- 4:33Speaker 3: is incredible, but it really does focus on those two
- 4:36Speaker 3: guys because when they were at their best, it was
- 4:38Speaker 3: because Trinidad and Lacey were just unstoppable from snap to snap.
- 4:42Speaker 2: What about....
- 4:44Speaker 1: On the other side of the ball, what, what problem
- 4:46Speaker 1: will LSU present Ole Miss that, well, not the other
- 4:50Speaker 1: side of the ball. It can be on from either side,
- 4:51Speaker 1: but just the other, the other matchup. What, what problems
- 4:55Speaker 1: does LSU present Ole Miss that will be the hardest
- 4:58Speaker 1: for them to overcome on Saturday on the field? We'll
- 5:01Speaker 1: talk off the field in a moment. Hey guys, I'll
- 5:04Speaker 1: get right back to chatting with Will, but first I
- 5:05Speaker 1: want to ask you two things. One, if you're not

- 5:40Speaker 1: We appreciate you guys for the support on the channel.
- 5:42Speaker 1: As we continue to grow it, trying to get 10,000
- 5:45Speaker 1: by the time the playoffs happen, we will certainly get
- 5:48Speaker 1: there with you guys.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Appreciate that. Now back to Will.
- 5:52Speaker 3: I mean, this LSU defense is just so wicked. I mean,
- 5:55Speaker 3: the personnel is incredible. Blake Baker is one of the
- 5:57Speaker 3: better DCs in the entire country. I think he'll be
- 5:59Speaker 3: a head coach next year. And Ole Miss' offensive tackle situation,
- 6:03Speaker 3: if you wanted to point to a question mark, it's
- 6:05Speaker 3: kind of that. So if you have offensive tackles that
- 6:07Speaker 3: maybe you're not in love with, and now all of
- 6:09Speaker 3: a sudden you have Umami Yellen and Jordan Ross coming
- 6:11Speaker 3: off the edge with a bunch of five stars in
- 6:13Speaker 3: the middle, that passers could get after it. Now you
- 6:15Speaker 3: have Trinidad Chambliss. So how much does that matter? But
- 6:18Speaker 3: the linebacker room for LSU, T.J. Dottery, Whit Weeks, incredible.
- 6:22Speaker 3: That secondary... That might be where Ole Miss can get
- 6:25Speaker 3: them because the secondary is so, so good as with
- 6:28Speaker 3: the starters, right? DJ Pickett, PJ Wooden, Ty Benefield, they
- 6:31Speaker 3: are incredible players. I still don't know what they have
- 6:34Speaker 3: behind them. So if you're able to make it a
- 6:37Speaker 3: track meet, right? If you're able to go up and
- 6:38Speaker 3: down the field, does that secondary get tired? Does one
- 6:41Speaker 3: of them have a hamstring cramp up? And now all
- 6:43Speaker 3: of a sudden you're able to test that depth down
- 6:44Speaker 3: in the defensive back end for LSU. If Ole Miss
- 6:47Speaker 3: is going to be able to exploit a quote-unquote weakness
- 6:50Speaker 3: for this Tigers defense, it's going to be the depth
- 6:52Speaker 3: of that secondary that but LSU's front seven is just
- 6:55Speaker 3: so good that if they're at the top of their
- 6:57Speaker 3: performance this weekend, it might not matter what that secondary
- 7:00Speaker 3: looks like at all.
- 7:02Speaker 1: We kind of hope just, I would assume we kind
- 7:05Speaker 1: of hope that this is a high scoring game. It'd
- 7:08Speaker 1: be a lot of fun to see, you know, what
- 7:09Speaker 1: we saw in the second half of Louisville Ole Miss.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Give me that for four quarters, just as a fan,
- 7:14Speaker 1: I want to see a touchdown every drive. That might
- 7:16Speaker 1: be like heart palpitations for fans of these two teams.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Um, Who does that favor?
- 7:22Speaker 1: If it is high scoring shootout back and forth, does
- 7:26Speaker 1: that favor one team or the other?
- 7:28Speaker 3: My gut kind of says it favors the team that's
- 7:30Speaker 3: got Lane Kiffin and Charlie Weiss, because at that point
- 7:32Speaker 3: you're like, okay, I trust those two to literally never
- 7:35Speaker 3: stop scoring. But emotionally, I think when you get to
- 7:38Speaker 3: this game, if Ole Miss's offense keeps giving the crowd
- 7:41Speaker 3: reasons to get up at a certain point, that place
- 7:43Speaker 3: is literally going to explode when LSU has the ball.
- 7:45Speaker 3: So I think because of what this environment might be,
- 7:47Speaker 3: if you keep going punch for punch, even if logic
- 7:50Speaker 3: kind of says, look, LSU staff, I mean, Lane and
- 7:53Speaker 3: Charlie Weiss, is there a better offensive coaching duo in
- 7:55Speaker 3: the country? I don't know if there is. I think
- 7:57Speaker 3: you're going to be in an environment with a defense
- 7:59Speaker 3: that is really hungry to go shut up this Lane
- 8:02Speaker 3: offense and Pete Golding with the judges that he can make.
- 8:06Speaker 3: I think it might be a perfect storm where eventually
- 8:08Speaker 3: Ole Miss' defense, Pete Golding, they can go get that
- 8:11Speaker 3: one stop or force that one turnover because I think
- 8:13Speaker 3: Leavitt is way more likely to turn the ball over
- 8:15Speaker 3: than Chambliss in this spot. So if that environment gets loud,
- 8:17Speaker 3: when the stage gets bigger, I like Chambliss over Levitt.
- 8:21Speaker 3: So because those are the two guys who are going
- 8:22Speaker 3: to be on the field as opposed to Lane versus
- 8:24Speaker 3: John David Baker on the other side, I would say
- 8:26Speaker 3: they may be favorites or Ole Miss a little bit.
- 8:28Speaker 2: What will be the difference in this one?
- 8:36Speaker 3: Probably the turnover, right? Wherever that turnover comes from. I mean,
- 8:39Speaker 3: it's college football. We're probably going to get a turnover
- 8:41Speaker 3: or two in this game. Is this LSU defense able
- 8:44Speaker 3: to just pressure Chambliss into a mistake to see if
- 8:46Speaker 3: they're willing to double coverage? Or... Do we see the
- 8:48Speaker 3: Sam Leavitt that we're used to seeing where it's, wow,
- 8:50Speaker 3: that was a great play. What in the world did
- 8:53Speaker 3: you just throw? Like I guess Louisiana Tech last week,
- 8:54Speaker 3: he had a couple of mind-numbing interceptions that just made
- 8:57Speaker 3: no sense for a guy who looked as good as
- 8:59Speaker 3: he looked in week one. Now you're going to be
- 9:01Speaker 3: on the road against a defense who will be flying
- 9:03Speaker 3: around a raucous environment. Could we see another head-scratcher of
- 9:08Speaker 3: a pick maybe at the end of the first half
- 9:10Speaker 3: that allows Ole Miss to go up by 10 or
- 9:12Speaker 3: go up by 14? I think that it will just
- 9:15Speaker 3: be a big turnover in this game And I think
- 9:17Speaker 3: that Leavitt is way more likely to make it than
- 9:20Speaker 3: Chambliss is. So I think that could easily be a
- 9:21Speaker 3: massive swing point, maybe not even late in the game,
- 9:24Speaker 3: but right before we go to the locker room at halftime,
- 9:26Speaker 3: all of a sudden Ole Miss makes a two-score game,
- 9:28Speaker 3: and it gets way harder for LSU to come back
- 9:30Speaker 3: in that.
- 9:31Speaker 2: We've spent about 10 minutes talking about on the field.
- 9:34Speaker 2: So I get to move to maybe the more fun
- 9:36Speaker 2: side of this for just a moment.
- 9:37Speaker 1: People are, people get mad at this and they're like,
- 9:39Speaker 1: just talk ball. And I'm just like, all right, well not, not,
- 9:41Speaker 1: you know, Lane doesn't just talk ball. I don't usually
- 9:45Speaker 1: buy into all the off field, you know, people would,
- 9:47Speaker 1: I mean, I, and really Ole Miss ruined this for
- 9:49Speaker 1: me last year, the off field, like, how is this
- 9:53Speaker 1: going to factor in every else? And then Ole Miss
- 9:55Speaker 1: goes out and wins two playoff games and really was
- 9:56Speaker 1: like this close to winning a third one and playing
- 9:58Speaker 1: in the national championship game. So, I don't buy the
- 10:01Speaker 1: off field stuff as much, but I kind of buy
- 10:04Speaker 1: it in this one. Like, I don't know how there's not.
- 10:06Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know what the percentage is. there
- 10:09Speaker 1: are so many guys on this Ole Miss team that
- 10:11Speaker 1: still play like that played last year and have played
- 10:14Speaker 1: under him. And there are so many guys on the
- 10:16Speaker 1: LSU team less, obviously that were in Oxford last year
- 10:20Speaker 1: and lane is so polarizing and it's him going back.
- 10:23Speaker 1: It's not Ole Miss playing on a neutral side or
- 10:24Speaker 1: going to Baton Rouge. It's him going back. And it's
- 10:27Speaker 1: the fan base that feels so jilted. Like I don't
- 10:30Speaker 1: usually buy into all the off field noise and all
- 10:32Speaker 1: the crap that's going on around. And I do think
- 10:34Speaker 1: there's an aspect of like, Man, when toe meets leather,
- 10:37Speaker 1: guys lock in and play.
- 10:38Speaker 2: But the drama around this thing and the, man.
- 10:41Speaker 1: You talk about making a big turnover late or a
- 10:44Speaker 1: big turnover that kind of like swings momentum or just whatever.
- 10:47Speaker 2: I think those are real things. Do guys press just
- 10:50Speaker 2: a little bit more in this game?
- 10:51Speaker 1: Like does that, because it feels like this game for
- 10:54Speaker 1: everyone involved, including us who have zero stake in it,
- 10:57Speaker 1: it feels bigger than anything else.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Like, yeah, there are big games, Auburn, Florida.
- 11:01Speaker 1: I mean, Texas, Ohio state last week, like there's huge
- 11:03Speaker 1: games that happened, but I think that when you look
- 11:06Speaker 1: at this one, Do people press a little bit more
- 11:09Speaker 1: because of how big this is?
- 11:11Speaker 2: We have no way of knowing that. I'm not asking
- 11:12Speaker 2: you to give a take there. But just those external factors,
- 11:16Speaker 2: I don't usually buy into them. I think I buy
- 11:18Speaker 2: into them this weekend.
- 11:19Speaker 3: I think I do too. It wouldn't shock me at
- 11:21Speaker 3: all from the first few drives. We get a couple
- 11:23Speaker 3: of offsetting dead ball personal fouls. You see a couple
- 11:26Speaker 3: of throws get airmailed. Just like for the first few
- 11:28Speaker 3: drives where everything's still setting in. right when you get
- 11:31Speaker 3: Keewon Lacey meeting TJ Dotter in the hole. If Umami
- 11:34Speaker 3: Yellen finds his way back to Chambliss in the pocket,
- 11:36Speaker 3: just if you literally see a physical reunion of some
- 11:39Speaker 3: of these guys who are on Ole Miss versus those
- 11:41Speaker 3: who left to go to LSU, you're going to see
- 11:43Speaker 3: a lot of chippiness, at least early on, and that
- 11:45Speaker 3: should be throughout the entire game. Yeah, there's an elevated
- 11:49Speaker 3: pressure rate in this game. It's for both sides. I
- 11:53Speaker 3: think the pressure is honestly more on LSU, even though
- 11:56Speaker 3: Lane will tell his players otherwise. I think the pressure
- 11:58Speaker 3: is on at least Lane to go back in and
- 12:01Speaker 3: prove that he made the right decision. Ole Miss is
- 12:03Speaker 3: kind of playing with house money here. Like, you know,
- 12:04Speaker 3: Trinidad Chambliss is playing against the coach who created him.
- 12:07Speaker 3: I think that's like a cool movie-like storyline. Like, there's
- 12:10Speaker 3: just so much around this game that gets me so
- 12:12Speaker 3: fired up for it. So I do think in the
- 12:14Speaker 3: beginning of the game, you're going to see maybe some
- 12:16Speaker 3: tempers flare. You're going to be able to see like, wow,
- 12:18Speaker 3: these guys have need to settle down. But then for
- 12:20Speaker 3: the back, you know, 45 minutes, I think you'll just
- 12:21Speaker 3: see a really good football game between two really good teams.
- 12:25Speaker 1: I'm going to get a score prediction from you in
- 12:26Speaker 1: a minute, but I've never asked this before ever.
- 12:28Speaker 2: So you're the guinea pig for it.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Last week, from a watchability standpoint, I would rate Texas-Ohio
- 12:34Speaker 1: State a 9 or 10 out of 10. Like, that was,
- 12:38Speaker 1: especially the second half. First half, a little clunky, but
- 12:41Speaker 1: second half, 10 out of 10. You'd probably rate it
- 12:44Speaker 1: lower if you're an Ohio State fan. When we get
- 12:47Speaker 1: to midnight on Saturday, what is the rating for this game?
- 12:52Speaker 2: Has it lived up to the expectation?
- 12:54Speaker 3: I certainly hope so. I mean, if we get like
- 12:56Speaker 3: a 38-35 back-and-forth offensive game like we're talking about, I mean,
- 13:00Speaker 3: I don't know how it won't be a 10, regardless
- 13:02Speaker 3: of who wins. I think if Ole Miss wins, by default,
- 13:05Speaker 3: the ranking will go up like a notch because of
- 13:07Speaker 3: the environment that it'll be. I mean, I don't see,
- 13:10Speaker 3: barring like an LSU blowout, because if Ole Miss blows
- 13:13Speaker 3: them out, everyone's going to love watching Lane get blown out.
- 13:15Speaker 3: But if LSU wins this away, like no one, like
- 13:18Speaker 3: the general public doesn't want LSU to win this game.
- 13:20Speaker 3: So barring LSU winning by like 17... This game is
- 13:23Speaker 3: going to be probably the most entertaining, energetic, fun watches
- 13:27Speaker 3: that we get, not really just this year, but maybe
- 13:29Speaker 3: if you go back through recent history. Like, wow, that
- 13:31Speaker 3: was just an awesome football game to watch. Totally live
- 13:34Speaker 3: up to it. Yeah, I mean, this could be a classic.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Score on this one?
- 13:39Speaker 3: I'm going to go 31-27 Ole Miss. I do think
- 13:41Speaker 3: they can get it done. I think you'll see a
- 13:43Speaker 3: bit of back and forth. I'd love it if that
- 13:45Speaker 3: was like 38-35, but I think the defenses are both
- 13:47Speaker 3: good enough where you'll see an extra stop in there,
- 13:49Speaker 3: maybe an extra turnover in there for both teams. So
