- 0:06Dayna Roselli: It does sound fun, though.
- 0:08Sean McAllister: Dana's first in-person boxing fight, and it was a good one.
- 0:12Sean McAllister: What it was like inside T-Mobile Arena for the Spence Crawford match Plus doughnuts and ice cream.
- 0:19Dayna Roselli: Hey, it's a new trend.
- 0:20Dayna Roselli: Where you can find it here in Las Vegas.
- 0:22Sean McAllister: The chain smokers have been performing it in Las Vegas for years and we finally got over there and wow, you have to put this on your to-do list.
- 0:31Dayna Roselli: Plus, we try out a new Israeli Mediterranean restaurant over at the Venetian Palazzo.
- 0:37Sean McAllister: All that and more coming up this week on Vegas Revealed.
- 0:40Dayna Roselli: Let's spin that wheel.
- 0:40Dayna Roselli: Let's go to Vegas, baby, let's go tonight.
- 0:48Dayna Roselli: Welcome everyone to episode 180 of Vegas.
- 0:51Dayna Roselli: Revealed Dayna Roselli, along with Sean McAllister.
- 0:55Dayna Roselli: We have a lot to go over this episode, but first we wanna tell you we have a new sponsor.
- 1:00Dayna Roselli: We are excited to welcome Hot Works and let me tell you, sean, we have a great deal for everyone coming up.
- 1:07Dayna Roselli: So stay tuned and we're gonna explain to you more about Hot Works, the benefits and what it is you actually work out in 125 degrees in infrared sauna.
- 1:17Dayna Roselli: It's amazing.
- 1:18Dayna Roselli: So we'll have all those details coming up in just a little bit.
- 1:20Sean McAllister: Yeah, we've both done it.
- 1:21Sean McAllister: Hot Works gets our stamp of approval, so we're excited that Hot Works is on board here on Vegas Revealed.
- 1:27Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I know you just took a drive speaking of Hot Works right through an area that was actually having experiencing a wildfire.
- 1:34Dayna Roselli: Right over the border, the Nevada California border, there has been a wildfire burning in California.
- 1:39Dayna Roselli: It's blown a lot of smoke our way and a lot of people have been obviously noticing it looking up in the sky.
- 1:44Dayna Roselli: How was the drive?
- 1:45Dayna Roselli: You just took a drive to San Diego, right.
- 1:47Sean McAllister: Yeah, it was a quick few day trip out there for some beach time and a concert, but on the way out to California it was, there was really thick smoke.
- 1:58Sean McAllister: I mean the visibility was super low as we were driving through.
- 2:02Sean McAllister: You couldn't see any of the flames from the highway, but you could definitely tell that smoke was billowing across from where that fire was burning and that was driving out.
- 2:14Sean McAllister: Driving back it was crystal clear.
- 2:16Sean McAllister: So I don't know if the winds had changed or what I know.
- 2:19Sean McAllister: The fire is still burning, so it's not out, but it was much better driving back into town.
- 2:26Dayna Roselli: Good, good, well, listen, we've got a lot to get to on the podcast.
- 2:29Dayna Roselli: I know we wanted to touch on something, though, that we didn't plan on touching on, but last night we experienced, and that is the traffic that everyone's talking about all around the Las Vegas Strip.
- 2:39Dayna Roselli: It's becoming more and more of a nightmare.
- 2:40Dayna Roselli: We are planning to have a Formula One race in November, and the track is being created, and they have warned us that there are going to be road closures, there are going to be lane closures, but I don't think anyone thought it was going to be this bad, and I know we've got a little bit of a rant, but we also, more so, want to pass this on to you so that you are aware, because you have to be aware.
- 3:02Dayna Roselli: We always think we're going to get around it, right?
- 3:04Dayna Roselli: Oh, we'll just leave a little early or we'll take a different road.
- 3:07Dayna Roselli: The options are very limited.
- 3:09Dayna Roselli: It took you and I.
- 3:10Dayna Roselli: We lived very close to the Strip.
- 3:12Dayna Roselli: We went to the Venetian last night.
- 3:14Dayna Roselli: It took us an hour each to get home, and we live.
- 3:16Sean McAllister: I live five minutes down the road you live about eight minutes yeah, I mean 12, if I'm catching lights and it took it was actually more than an hour, an hour and 20 minutes to get from the Venetian back home and it was absolute insanity.
- 3:34Sean McAllister: And I think the issue is that like there aren't clear signs letting you know that if you're turning down a road that you're not going to be able to get through, or turn left or yeah, I mean, all of a sudden you just end up in these road cones and if you haven't read ahead of time where the closures are taking place on any given day, then I mean you're kind of out of luck.
- 4:01Sean McAllister: And once you're in that traffic you're stuck.
- 4:04Dayna Roselli: You are stuck.
- 4:04Dayna Roselli: It's a nightmare.
- 4:05Dayna Roselli: And listen, I was sitting there thinking yesterday, as we were trying to get out, like it.
- 4:09Dayna Roselli: I mean, is this what LA is like every day?
- 4:12Dayna Roselli: I mean I would lose it.
- 4:13Dayna Roselli: And I know we're very lucky and maybe we're a little spoiled because we don't have a lot of traffic issues usually.
- 4:18Dayna Roselli: But this is just, you're right.
- 4:21Dayna Roselli: The problem is there's no path.
- 4:23Dayna Roselli: It's like you think, okay, I'm moving, and then you realize like, oh, by the way, the rest of Sands is closed.
- 4:29Dayna Roselli: But you don't know until you get there.
- 4:31Dayna Roselli: So then you have to go right down Cobal and all you see are lights.
- 4:34Dayna Roselli: There's nowhere to go.
- 4:35Dayna Roselli: So then I turned right to go toward the Venetian parking garage and then I decided to go under the Harris sign through the best I don't know if it was a best Western or whatever it was parking garage.
- 4:45Dayna Roselli: It would lead me to the strip.
- 4:46Dayna Roselli: All the pedestrians are trying.
- 4:47Dayna Roselli: I got.
- 4:48Dayna Roselli: I mean it took an hour and it's very frustrating and I'm not sure it's the safest plan.
- 4:53Dayna Roselli: Every traffic's all over the place.
- 4:55Dayna Roselli: It's frustrating and I don't know.
- 4:58Dayna Roselli: I feel like something else could be done that would be better.
- 5:04Sean McAllister: Yeah, I mean it really is a nightmare right now, and we talked about this earlier in the spring.
- 5:11Sean McAllister: We said that this was going to happen.
- 5:12Sean McAllister: They're doing this road paving project from April through September.
- 5:19Sean McAllister: I mean we're getting, hopefully, the final stretches of it now, but I mean we're getting into rough stretches of it now and, to add insult to injury, a lot of the roads that you turn on to after you get out of the Formula 1 paving construction are also now under construction.
- 5:39Dayna Roselli: So it's like yeah, it's not no where to go I know I feel I had someone write us and say Well, I'm coming this weekend like we're and I'm like you're going to have to walk, stay in the hotel.
- 5:48Dayna Roselli: You stay in and walk or take the monorail.
- 5:51Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's just not easy to get around.
- 5:53Dayna Roselli: I mean it's difficult.
- 5:55Dayna Roselli: So anyway, we're not going to go on and on and on.
- 5:56Dayna Roselli: We could go on forever but we need to move on.
- 5:58Dayna Roselli: But just a heads up for anyone if you're coming to visit us or if you live here, I wouldn't even say tack on 10 minutes.
- 6:04Dayna Roselli: You got to tack on probably 45 minutes at least to your commute at least.
- 6:09Sean McAllister: I mean an hour to be safe, which is mind boggling to even think about.
- 6:14Sean McAllister: But there's your tip.
- 6:16Dayna Roselli: All right, Well listen.
- 6:17Dayna Roselli: Speaking of traffic, I Ubered over to the boxing match over at T-Mobile Arena last Saturday.
- 6:23Dayna Roselli: It was the first time I've ever seen a boxing boxing match in person, so I was really excited.
- 6:28Sean McAllister: And what were your observations?
- 6:31Sean McAllister: What were your first?
- 6:32Sean McAllister: You know opinions of it.
- 6:34Dayna Roselli: So we were stuck in a little bit of traffic, by the way, on Frank Sinatra, and I guess that's why I made the transition, but we got through pretty quick.
- 6:40Dayna Roselli: Also, you know boxing has such a rich history here so I've always been fascinated with it.
- 6:45Dayna Roselli: You know Muhammad Ali, and I mean all the way up till, more currently, you know Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather.
- 6:51Dayna Roselli: So it was the Arrowspence Junior and Terence Crawford fight and it was, you know, supposed to be a really good fight.
- 6:57Dayna Roselli: A couple notes.
- 6:59Dayna Roselli: Well, crawford kind of stole the fight as in like, it wasn't really a good fight.
- 7:06Sean McAllister: But no contest, no he had no contest.
- 7:08Dayna Roselli: So initial thoughts were just that I it was quieter than I thought here and this is the reason, because there's when it's on like I guess it was on pay-per-view and showtime there's commentators.
- 7:20Dayna Roselli: Well, you can't hear those commentators when you're in the arena, so it's quiet while they're actually boxing Interesting, so you're watching but you could hear a pin drop.
- 7:29Dayna Roselli: Well, we were high up, but you know it's quiet until something happens, a move happens or a good punch or whatever.
- 7:36Dayna Roselli: Then everyone you know kind of gets a little rowdy and stuff, but very respectful and very quiet in there as the boxing match was taking place.
- 7:43Dayna Roselli: I thought that was interesting, it was great.
- 7:46Dayna Roselli: Eminem showed up.
- 7:46Dayna Roselli: He was actually Crawford's Terrence Crawford's hype man.
- 7:50Dayna Roselli: So I love Eminem.
- 7:51Dayna Roselli: So I was like, oh my God.
- 7:53Dayna Roselli: So he came out to one of his songs and Eminem was actually there with him.
- 7:56Dayna Roselli: You know you got the hoodie on and the whole, the whole slow walk all the way to the ring.
- 8:00Dayna Roselli: Oh, that was very exciting.
- 8:02Dayna Roselli: I loved that and you know that that's really it as far as like it was fun to watch Crawford celebrate at the end, the whole his family come up there, you know the whole, where they kind of get to the edge of the ring and they, you know, kind of climb up.
- 8:15Dayna Roselli: It was everything that I expected it to be, and a lot of fun.
- 8:18Dayna Roselli: I would definitely go again, enjoyed it.
- 8:21Sean McAllister: Nice.
- 8:21Sean McAllister: I love that.
- 8:22Sean McAllister: You know, mma and UFC have have really taken over a lot of the live fighting events that are held here in Las Vegas and I love seeing boxing like really making a comeback again.
- 8:38Sean McAllister: Yeah, you know, like you said, it was huge here for decades, but then I feel like UFC kind of took over right in the fight realm.
- 8:46Sean McAllister: But boxing really is making a big resurgence and there are a lot of homegrown boxers coming out of Las Vegas right now Exactly.
- 8:55Dayna Roselli: So yeah, it's a big deal, you know, and that's the thing that I've never seen a UFC fight.
- 8:59Dayna Roselli: I don't know, that might be a little too bare knuckled, bloody for me, but you know I'd still go, just because it's part of you know what?
- 9:07Dayna Roselli: What happens in Las.
- 9:07Sean McAllister: Vegas.
- 9:08Dayna Roselli: UFC was born here.
- 9:09Dayna Roselli: Also wanted to quickly mention a great after party over at Topgolf for Terrence Crawford.
- 9:14Dayna Roselli: Blank Entertainment put it on invited us.
- 9:16Dayna Roselli: It was great.
- 9:18Dayna Roselli: Just really enjoyed my whole experience and something that I did even after that that night I'm going to talk a little bit about in our tip segment coming up.
- 9:27Sean McAllister: And I'm excited about this too.
- 9:29Sean McAllister: All right, now we have a warning for anybody who's coming into Las Vegas or going out on the strip.
- 9:36Sean McAllister: There's a trend that we have been notified about that is Pretty scary trend and you really need to keep your eyes open, keep your belongings to yourself.
- 9:49Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean this happens, you know, I guess for decades all over the world.
- 9:52Dayna Roselli: But sometimes you hear about it like happening more and more often.
- 9:56Dayna Roselli: And we're talking about People's you know leaving their drinks and someone putting something in your drink.
- 10:02Dayna Roselli: You're unaware, you take a sip, all of a sudden, you're not feeling good.
- 10:05Dayna Roselli: And a Trusted source of mine that works at a property on the strip said that they have been seeing more of this happen and you know they're getting reports about five a day of people saying I don't feel right, something's wrong.
- 10:17Dayna Roselli: I didn't even.
- 10:18Dayna Roselli: I had like half of a drink.
- 10:20Dayna Roselli: I don't understand.
- 10:21Dayna Roselli: And so Big kind of warning to our listeners that are coming into Vegas, our locals Just always have your drink in your hand and keep your eye on it.
- 10:30Dayna Roselli: Just, you know odds are something happening to you probably not, but you never know it could be you.
- 10:35Dayna Roselli: And if this is happening More and more often, we want to let people know Keep an eye on your drink, do not put it down, go do something, come back and pick it up.
- 10:43Dayna Roselli: You can't do that.
- 10:44Dayna Roselli: So just be aware, if you're out with your friends, if you're you're out for a drink, even by yourself, waiting for someone, and maybe you're looking at your phone.
- 10:53Dayna Roselli: Just be careful.
- 10:54Dayna Roselli: You got to keep your eyes on your drinks.
- 10:55Sean McAllister: Yeah, keep all your stuff right in front of you.
- 10:57Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that's what you got to do now.
- 11:00Sean McAllister: Let's get to the event that we went to down on the strip before we got stuck in all of that F1 Repaving construction project.
- 11:10Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and, by the way, it took me 45 minutes to get in, so it wasn't that much better on the way in either true.
- 11:15Dayna Roselli: But we had a fabulous dinner and a great night out so it was worth it.
- 11:19Dayna Roselli: And we were over at Hassalon at the Venetian Palazzo.
- 11:22Dayna Roselli: It's a new restaurant and I love this.
- 11:24Dayna Roselli: On it was Israeli Mediterranean.
- 11:26Dayna Roselli: I had never had this before and I was super excited to try it out.
- 11:30Sean McAllister: And boy did it deliver every single dish that came out.
- 11:35Sean McAllister: It seemed like Every dish topped the previous one and everything was delicious, and what I really love is the freshness of everything that we had.
- 11:47Sean McAllister: A lot of it is vegetable base.
- 11:49Sean McAllister: They do have a lot of meat on the menu as well, but they really strive to never have more than three or four Ingredients in any of their dishes.
- 12:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that avocado toast.
- 12:03Dayna Roselli: I've never seen it done like this before.
- 12:06Dayna Roselli: Usually it's like everyone like adds a new thing on top and they're like ours is, you know, tastier than another one, but this was like chunks piled high.
- 12:15Dayna Roselli: It was delicious.
- 12:17Dayna Roselli: With a little bit of salt, it was great.
- 12:20Sean McAllister: So I was sitting kind of at a bar area where you get to watch the food preparation Happen right in front of you, so I was watching every single avocado toast that went out of the kitchen.
- 12:30Sean McAllister: I saw it made.
- 12:31Sean McAllister: So it's on like super thick, cut, really delicious bread, and then it's toasted.
- 12:38Sean McAllister: They rub a clove of garlic onto the bread.
- 12:42Sean McAllister: The avocado is just tossed in olive oil and some sea salt.
- 12:47Sean McAllister: So good, and then piled high on top of this toasted bread.
- 12:52Sean McAllister: So simple but incredibly Delicious.
- 12:57Sean McAllister: And that's the same thing with every dish we had.
- 12:59Sean McAllister: It would just packed with so much flavor and really like natural flavor.
- 13:04Dayna Roselli: Yeah my favorite main course was the eggplant.
- 13:07Dayna Roselli: It was and I'm, you know, I grew up my mom's you know eggplant parmesan.
- 13:13Dayna Roselli: This was thinly sliced, not really fried on the outside, but the cheese.
- 13:18Dayna Roselli: You just taste the cheese and the sauce and the flavor.
- 13:20Dayna Roselli: It was Delicious.
- 13:22Dayna Roselli: That was my favorite thing of the night.
- 13:23Dayna Roselli: What was yours?
- 13:24Sean McAllister: Mine was the a beetroot carpaccio.
- 13:27Sean McAllister: Oh, okay, yeah, that was good also a thinly sliced beetroot laid out on like this gold tray With some olive oil, some sea salt and pepper and shaved horseradish.
- 13:43Sean McAllister: Yum, it was just with some creme fraiche and it was all.
- 13:48Sean McAllister: Joe, it was delicious, every bite was so good.
- 13:54Dayna Roselli: We got to sample a lot of the different dishes.
- 13:56Dayna Roselli: I wouldn't say there was a bad, they were all good.
- 13:58Dayna Roselli: So if you go, you know depends what you like.
- 14:01Dayna Roselli: Order, you know, look around, but it was great.
- 14:04Dayna Roselli: So here's the deal.
- 14:04Dayna Roselli: The vibe let's talk about the vibe.
- 14:06Dayna Roselli: So every now and then you're gonna hear a little bell.
- 14:08Dayna Roselli: Right, they're gonna bing, bing, bing and you're like, and it's a reminder that you're supposed to be having fun during this.
- 14:14Dayna Roselli: Okay, it's a little bit more laid back earlier in the evening, but as it gets later and later, you will notice that the party vibe will pick up a little bit.
- 14:23Dayna Roselli: In there.
- 14:23Dayna Roselli: People will be throwing their napkins in the air and whizzing them around.
- 14:28Dayna Roselli: You're allowed to get up on the table if you want to.
- 14:30Sean McAllister: I mean there were people standing up on their chairs and dancing.
- 14:34Sean McAllister: There's a DJ in there.
- 14:35Sean McAllister: The servers get in on the action hyping everybody up.
- 14:39Sean McAllister: It is a fun time.
- 14:41Sean McAllister: I had a blast.
- 14:43Dayna Roselli: It was great we were just dying.
- 14:45Dayna Roselli: It was such a fun night out and I could imagine having dinner and appetizers and drinks and just really spending a couple hours there.
- 14:53Dayna Roselli: And then at one point there were windows where you can see up and it actually looks out toward the wind, and then when the shades come down, that's the real time that you're really supposed to kick it up.
- 15:03Dayna Roselli: Okay, now no one's looking.
- 15:06Sean McAllister: You know it feels like that From the outside so you can do whatever you want.
- 15:10Dayna Roselli: Stand on your chair.
- 15:11Dayna Roselli: The wait staff is good looking, they're vibrant.
- 15:13Dayna Roselli: It is a great Vegas night out, a great dinner.
- 15:16Dayna Roselli: Go try it out.
- 15:18Dayna Roselli: We love it.
- 15:19Dayna Roselli: We love this concept.
- 15:20Dayna Roselli: It's just, we had a blast.
- 15:22Dayna Roselli: We can't stop talking about it today.
- 15:23Sean McAllister: Yeah, highly recommend it.
- 15:25Sean McAllister: It's Hassalon, over at the Palazzo just off of the casino floor.
- 15:30Sean McAllister: Put it on your to-do list.
- 15:32Sean McAllister: Next time you're here in Vegas you will not be disappointed, we promise yes.
- 15:38Dayna Roselli: Hey, I wanted to mention something that's coming to Las Vegas, because a lot of people have been talking about it and we've seen some plans.
- 15:45Dayna Roselli: So it's called Swingers, right?
- 15:47Dayna Roselli: So you're like, wait what?
- 15:48Dayna Roselli: This is coming to Mandalay Bay Swingers, but it's actually and you'll get the name in a minute it's an adults-only mini golf experience.
- 15:56Dayna Roselli: It's set to open inside Mandalay Bay in about 2024, and it's going to be in a 40,000 square foot venue.
- 16:05Dayna Roselli: They're going to include street food, drinks, miniature golf.
- 16:08Dayna Roselli: It sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun.
- 16:10Dayna Roselli: I like the idea.
- 16:11Sean McAllister: It does, and having it be an adults-only attraction is really fun too.
- 16:16Sean McAllister: I believe it's taking over the space where Light Night Club used to be.
- 16:20Sean McAllister: That's kind of as you follow the signs to the self-parking garage over at Mandalay Bay.
- 16:27Sean McAllister: It's right there on the right-hand side, across from Lupo the restaurant, but it looks like the inside is going to be inspired by an English manner a state facades of the English manner, I think Bridgerton S, with the wisteria dripping down and it looks like it's going to be really interesting and it sounds like it could be a lot of fun.
- 16:52Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I love the idea.
- 16:53Dayna Roselli: I think you know we've always knew things coming.
- 16:55Dayna Roselli: I have said ever since I moved here we need more places for miniature golf.
- 16:58Dayna Roselli: I was shocked that like there aren't more locations.
- 17:02Dayna Roselli: So I mean, no, and I wasn't even talking on the strip, I was talking off the strip.
- 17:05Dayna Roselli: But so I love that there's something coming to the strip.
- 17:08Dayna Roselli: Miniature golf is fun.
- 17:09Dayna Roselli: I mean, I grew up playing miniature golf in Rochester, new York, because in the summers that was the one thing that we could do to be outdoors.
- 17:15Dayna Roselli: It was.
- 17:16Dayna Roselli: That was fun you know, and play the arcade and stuff like that.
- 17:18Dayna Roselli: So I love this concept.
- 17:20Dayna Roselli: That's what we know about it.
- 17:22Dayna Roselli: We know it's going to cost about $50 million to make this and so we can't wait to see it.
- 17:27Dayna Roselli: And you know we're getting more and more things like that on the strip.
- 17:30Dayna Roselli: You know we've got places where you can play darts now and you know we've got different kinds of museums and interactive immersive things.
- 17:37Dayna Roselli: So I think this is really going to add to that list.
- 17:39Sean McAllister: Yeah, so swingers coming to Mandalay Bay in 2024 will keep you posted as an opening date is announced.
- 17:47Dayna Roselli: All right, let's do some tips.
- 17:52Sean McAllister: All right, dana, you mentioned earlier that the second half of your boxing fight after party was to go and see a couple guys who've been around Las Vegas for a while.
- 18:05Sean McAllister: But we have not gone to experience yet.
- 18:08Dayna Roselli: Yeah, you know, and I don't know what took me so long because you know, and maybe it's you know, I don't hit the nightclubs a lot, but anyway, I went over to XS Nightclub over at the win and it was a night that the chain smokers were performing.
- 18:20Dayna Roselli: Okay, so I was there for a little while relaxing and just enjoying the atmosphere.
- 18:26Dayna Roselli: We had a booth, our friend, jay it works over there and got us in and anyway it was so nice just first of all to be outside and enjoy the music and the vibe of the nightclub.
- 18:40Dayna Roselli: But then the chain smokers came out and let me tell you, the crowd went wild.
- 18:45Dayna Roselli: First of all, all you know, all of their music, everyone knows.
- 18:48Dayna Roselli: Yeah they know the words, they know the verses, you know and the collaborations that they put together, and then they kind of stand up on the I don't want to say they stand up on the DJ booth.
- 18:57Dayna Roselli: I was behind, so what they're facing?
- 19:00Dayna Roselli: There's a section that faces inside the club, another section that faces outside, and I was in the outside but they would work the whole circle.
- 19:07Dayna Roselli: Anyway, they put on a great performance, the crowd, the vibe.
- 19:12Dayna Roselli: I had so much fun.
- 19:13Dayna Roselli: I just want to tell everyone go see the chain smokers.
- 19:16Dayna Roselli: So they've been there Actually since 2017, they re-signed another contract in 2019.
- 19:22Dayna Roselli: And they were even saying gosh, I can't even believe how many shows we've done, because they do Angkor Beach Club too.
- 19:27Dayna Roselli: They've done like over 200 shows and so they've been doing it for a while and it's because they're hit.
