- 0:23Well, hey guys, good day, it is John
- 0:26C.
- 0:26Morley here, Serial Entrepreneur.
- 0:28You are tuned into Inspirations for Your Life.
- 0:30If you're wondering where I am, I am
- 0:32live here at Mount Christie University in between
- 0:34classes.
- 0:35So yes, it's exam time coming up very
- 0:38soon and the semester is ending and then
- 0:41a little break for a week and then
- 0:42on for 14 more weeks for the summer
- 0:44session.
- 0:45All right, guys, it's so great to be
- 0:47with you.
- 0:47This is your very first time joining me.
- 0:49I want to say welcome and I want
- 0:50to say thank you.
- 0:51If you're coming back, I definitely want to
- 0:52say welcome back and thank you from the
- 0:54bottom of my heart.
- 0:54Really appreciate that.
- 0:56Also, I'm so grateful to all of you
- 0:57that are supporting the launch of my new
- 0:59book, Drained to Driven.
- 1:02We are on a live campus, so sometimes
- 1:03we may get people walking behind me, around
- 1:05me, over me or what have you.
- 1:07So it's a live environment, so we can't
- 1:09really control things like that, but it is
- 1:11nice.
- 1:11The weather today is a little chilly, but
- 1:14not too bad that we have to wear
- 1:17gloves or anything like that.
- 1:18So again, don't forget to check out BelieveMeAchieved
- 1:20.com.
- 1:21You can actually learn about my brand new
- 1:23book there, Drained to Driven.
- 1:26And yeah, it's a great book, a six
- 1:30by nine hardcover book, about 136 pages, three
- 1:33appendices.
- 1:35There is also the Kindle version and the
- 1:38Audible version, which I did record.
- 1:40It should be approved, I believe, later this
- 1:42week.
- 1:42Amazon Audible takes a little bit of time
- 1:44for that.
- 1:44The ACX Amazon Creators Exchange, so that takes
- 1:47a little time for them to manually go
- 1:48through and verify it.
- 1:50But again, it is so great to have
- 1:51everyone here with me on the Inspirations for
- 1:54Your Life show.
- 1:55And it's great to be mobile.
- 1:57I can tell you guys, we're going to
- 1:58be doing more of these mobile shows, because
- 2:02you know they're catching on.
- 2:03People like when I'm on location as opposed
- 2:05to in studio or something like that.
- 2:06So this is Inspirations for Your Life.
- 2:08Oh, and if you're thirsty, if you're hungry
- 2:09or what have you, forgive me there, my
- 2:12manners.
- 2:12I just had lunch.
- 2:13But if you feel like having something, go
- 2:15grab it and come on back, get comfy,
- 2:17and let's start the show.
- 2:19So this is Inspirations for Your Life.
- 2:22Why small actions change everything.
- 2:26That is basically series five.
- 2:31And you know, it is show number 17
- 2:35and it's episode number three.
- 2:37And it is a Monday.
- 2:39Yes, it's a Monday.
- 2:39It's April 20, 2026.
- 2:41And the master topic that that all ties
- 2:44into for the week is how people actually
- 2:47take control of their life decision.
- 2:50The question is, do people take control or
- 2:52do they get pushed into something?
- 2:54Because I've said this before, just because you
- 2:56don't make a decision doesn't mean you've not
- 2:59made a decision.
- 3:00By you not deciding is actually you deciding.
- 3:03So you can read more about that in
- 3:05my book, Drained to Driven, and all some
- 3:07other great insights.
- 3:08But a lot of people just move through
- 3:09life and they don't really take the time
- 3:12to enjoy every moment.
- 3:14That could be eating, that could be walking,
- 3:16that could be enjoying a beverage, that could
- 3:18be, you know, just sitting outside or walking.
- 3:23So ladies and gentlemen, I am John C.
- 3:25Morley, serial entrepreneur, engineer, marketing specialist, video producer,
- 3:28podcast host, coach, keynote speaker, graduate student, passionate
- 3:32lifelong learner.
- 3:33And now, guys, very proud to be a
- 3:36official published author.
- 3:38So today, I'm not talking about massive breakthroughs,
- 3:44okay?
- 3:45I'm talking about something far more powerful.
- 3:48And like I told you, we're on a
- 3:49live environment.
- 3:50So again, we could get people around me,
- 3:53behind me, above me.
- 3:54Noises happen.
- 3:55We're not in a studio.
- 3:56So we're talking about something more powerful than
- 3:59what you imagine.
- 4:00Small actions, guys, because most people are waiting
- 4:04for a big moment to change their life.
- 4:06And I got news for you.
- 4:07The big moment is never going to happen
- 4:09to you unless you embrace the small moment.
- 4:12So a big decision, a big opportunity, a
- 4:14big shift.
- 4:15But real change doesn't happen that way, guys.
- 4:18It happens quietly.
- 4:19It happens consistently.
- 4:21And it happens through the smallest repeat actions
- 4:25that you take over time.
- 4:27Are you ready, guys?
- 4:27Let's get into the main topics.
- 4:29Number one, when we understand the small inputs
- 4:34compound results, they build over time.
- 4:38So what seems insignificant today becomes undeniable tomorrow,
- 4:43okay?
- 4:44And again, tiny actions, number two, scale faster
- 4:48than expected.
- 4:50Small steps kind of stay small.
- 4:53But when they get repeated, they really start
- 4:57to branch into something.
- 4:59So I think these are important things to
- 5:01notice.
- 5:02And so many people, if you just sit
- 5:04outside, like fly on the wall, and you
- 5:06observe people, whether they're talking, whether they're on
- 5:09their phone, whatever they're doing, they're not into
- 5:12the moment.
- 5:13They're into so many other things that they're
- 5:15trying to multitask because that's what the generation
- 5:17is saying you need to do.
- 5:18But multitasking is not great, I got to
- 5:20be honest with you.
- 5:21Number three, consistency beats intensity.
- 5:26I've said this before, and I'm going to
- 5:27say it again, every time.
- 5:29Because what you do regularly matters more than
- 5:33what you do occasionally.
- 5:34If you do something great one day, but
- 5:36then the rest of your week, you just
- 5:38don't do anything, that's going to be a
- 5:39problem for you.
- 5:40So if you, let's say, watch you eat
- 5:41on one day, and then on this day,
- 5:43you don't watch what you eat, and then
- 5:44over here, you actually come and now you
- 5:46watch, that's not going to be a big
- 5:48difference, okay?
- 5:48So number four, guys, minor shifts create major
- 5:52change.
- 5:53A slight adjustment, repeated daily changes directly, completely
- 5:58will change your life.
- 5:59Number five, guys, daily habits shape identity.
- 6:02So whatever day you have actually defines you
- 6:06by what you're doing over and over again.
- 6:08Not by what you do one day.
- 6:10One day doesn't set the pattern or the
- 6:12trajectory of your life.
- 6:13You don't become something big overnight.
- 6:16You become it daily.
- 6:17I didn't write Drained to Driven in five
- 6:21minutes.
- 6:21It took me some time.
- 6:22It took me several months.
- 6:23But it was consistent effort, working on it,
- 6:28then editing it at the end, and just
- 6:30being consistent doing a little bit each day.
- 6:34Working on part of a chapter, a concept,
- 6:37and then staying with that all the time,
- 6:39and the book got finished.
- 6:40Number six, guys, repetition builds momentum.
- 6:43The more you do something, the easier it
- 6:45becomes.
- 6:47I can speak about this being in grad
- 6:49school, a lot of times we're learning new
- 6:50formulas, and the formula seems like a real
- 6:52pain in the butt, okay?
- 6:54But when you've done it over and over
- 6:56and over and over again, it seems like
- 6:59the easiest thing because now it becomes comfortable.
- 7:04I've said that when something is uncomfortable, that's
- 7:07when success starts to breed.
- 7:09Number seven, guys, small wins reinforce behavior progress.
- 7:14So encourage more progress is what it's about.
- 7:17And I think most people are looking for
- 7:20the giant win.
- 7:21They're looking for that big, grand gesture, but
- 7:25the truth of the matter is, that's a
- 7:27movie.
- 7:28This isn't a movie.
- 7:29This is your life.
- 7:31So we need to start embracing every breath,
- 7:34every step, every thought you take, because the
- 7:38thoughts are what's going to lead you to
- 7:40the inspiration.
- 7:41The inspiration is what's going to take you
- 7:44to your success.
- 7:46You won't see results, guys, right away, so
- 7:48don't get disappointed.
- 7:49But they're building.
- 7:51They're working behind the scenes.
- 7:52Have you ever gone to a movie or
- 7:54a play, and a lot of times you
- 7:55know you're waiting there, but it didn't start
- 7:57yet?
- 7:57Well, they're working on the set behind the
- 8:00scenes, and then you see this fantastic Broadway
- 8:04play.
- 8:04Number nine, compounding takes time.
- 8:08Growth accelerates after consistency.
- 8:11Growth accelerates after consistency.
- 8:14And I think the more that we can
- 8:18be consistent, and I can share this with
- 8:20you in my math or my engineering problems,
- 8:22the more I do something, the more consistent,
- 8:26but not just a consistency.
- 8:28I notice the learning curve basically gets smaller
- 8:32so that I learn more in a short
- 8:34amount of time because of the consistency.
- 8:37So spending a large amount of time is
- 8:39going to be frustrating, but if you do
- 8:41short chunks, you keep taking the short-term
- 8:44and basically transferring it to your long-term
- 8:48memory.
- 8:49So number 10, guys, what you repeat grows.
- 8:52Whatever you feed expands.
- 8:55So what we think about, we bring about.
- 8:57I've said this many times before, but these
- 8:58are really important points that I think set
- 9:02the path for our lives.
- 9:06Whatever you feed expands.
- 9:07So when you focus on a thought, wherever
- 9:10you put your energy basically, so when you
- 9:13focus on a thought, the energy is going
- 9:15to flow to that idea, whether you want
- 9:17it or not.
- 9:18So it's about the thing that it's not
- 9:21just conscious minds.
- 9:22It's unconscious minds.
- 9:23I don't know if you guys know this,
- 9:25but throughout your entire day, you're actually being
- 9:27programmed to do things that you may or
- 9:29may not even want to do, but the
- 9:31environment around you is actually making you do
- 9:34things.
- 9:34You're saying, oh, that's not possible.
- 9:36Yes, it is.
- 9:38You go to a store and you suddenly
- 9:41buy extra junk that you don't need.
- 9:44That's an impulse buy.
- 9:45It doesn't work on everybody, but a lot
- 9:47of people, it does tempt them and they
- 9:49do buy that last thing that they don't
- 9:51really need.
- 9:52So what you repeat, you reinforce.
- 9:54You can hear the truck backing up.
- 9:56Like I said, I'm right here.
- 9:57There's actually a construction site not too far
- 10:00from me.
- 10:00They're actually building a new STEM center.
- 10:03So again, we are on a live, active
- 10:05campus with live people, live noise, live environment.
- 10:09It's fun, but it's also challenging.
- 10:11Number 11, guys, simplicity sustains progress.
- 10:16Simple actions are easier to maintain long term.
- 10:20Again, you're going to hear planks.
- 10:21You're going to hear all kinds of stuff.
- 10:24That's kind of the fun of being in
- 10:26a live environment.
- 10:28So simplicity sustains progress.
- 10:31When we make a concept simple, it's easier
- 10:34to repeat.
- 10:35And when it's easier to repeat, we can
- 10:37thus be consistent at it, maintain it, and
- 10:41we can actually get better at it over
- 10:43the long term.
- 10:44Number 12, guys, oh, and the sun has
- 10:46just come out.
- 10:46This is beautiful.
- 10:47Small effort removes overwhelm, right?
- 10:50You don't need to do everything.
- 10:53Just something.
- 10:56Number 13, guys, momentum builds gradually.
- 11:00Movement creates more movement, right?
- 11:03Movement creates more movement.
- 11:05When your body is standing up or you're
- 11:07sitting and you're starting to move one part
- 11:08of your body, it's like the rest of
- 11:09your body wants to get in too.
- 11:11Maybe you start dancing.
- 11:12Maybe you start dancing with your feet.
- 11:13And then your arms and your legs, your
- 11:16chest, everything wants to get involved with the
- 11:17dance.
- 11:18So that's what we mean about momentum.
- 11:21And momentum is energy, guys.
- 11:23Momentum is energy.
- 11:25That is important.
- 11:26Number 14, guys, inputs define results.
- 11:30What you put in determines what comes out.
- 11:33We said this before, but if we don't
- 11:35understand what goes in and we don't know
- 11:38how or we don't know what's being put
- 11:42in, then what we're getting out is just,
- 11:46well, a mystery.
- 11:47Sometimes we might like it.
- 11:49Sometimes we won't.
- 11:51But if we become aware of the inputs
- 11:56that our body is susceptible to, you know,
- 12:00see, touch, hear, touch, I see, hear, touch,
- 12:03taste, smell, proprioception.
- 12:06So every awareness right now, for example, I'm
- 12:09sitting here talking to you guys on the
- 12:11show.
- 12:12I can feel wind against my neck.
- 12:15I can actually, just as I said that
- 12:18I feel more wind, I can actually feel
- 12:20the temperature in my socks, in my feet
- 12:23right now.
- 12:24It's not too cold, but it's not actually
- 12:27very warm either.
- 12:28So it's kind of in the middle.
- 12:30I also can feel the texture right now
- 12:32as my feet are on this patio concrete
- 12:36here at school.
- 12:37I can feel the texture of my feet
- 12:40against the shoes and the soles against the
- 12:42concrete.
- 12:43And I think there's lots of things to
- 12:46become aware of.
- 12:47So just sitting here, and I've done this
- 12:49before, I could be aware of the building.
- 12:51I could be aware of the color of
- 12:53the building, like right to my right.
- 12:54If you guys, if I turn the camera
- 12:56here, you guys can see, this is actually
- 12:59the hall in which you guys can see
- 13:00that.
- 13:01Actually, I actually got to turn the camera
- 13:03to my, to my, there we go.
- 13:05And you guys can actually see it right
- 13:08over here.
- 13:08But this is University Hall.
- 13:10If I can kind of give you a
- 13:11little view of it.
- 13:11Can you see it?
- 13:12Hopefully you can.
- 13:13There's another building over there.
- 13:15And the building has a certain architecture to
- 13:19it.
- 13:19It has a certain color to it, a
- 13:21certain texture to it.
- 13:25In addition to that, the other thing that
- 13:28I noticed being here is I noticed the
- 13:31different sounds from the wind, even though it's
- 13:34not very vigilant.
- 13:37I noticed the bells or the chimes.
- 13:41I noticed when they were unloading stuff.
- 13:42Some people are opening a door, like there's
- 13:44some maintenance people here and they're doing some
- 13:46work and they open a door.
- 13:48So you can become aware of all these
- 13:50different things.
- 13:51And I think when we can become aware
- 13:54of things, we're able to understand everything much
- 13:57better.
- 13:58So for example, if we're in a movie
- 14:00theater, right?
- 14:01And let's say there's no sound at that
- 14:03movie theater.
- 14:04Well, we're going to miss a big part
- 14:06of that movie, right?
- 14:07You know, maybe you've gone to a theme
- 14:10park, beginning with a D or one beginning
- 14:12with a U.
- 14:13I'm not going to mention their names.
- 14:15But they add a lot of things.
- 14:18So they add animatronics.
- 14:19They add things to give us more awareness,
- 14:23like things that we can feel, things that
- 14:25we can smell, touch, right?
- 14:28They also create different types of motion patterns
- 14:32for us.
- 14:33Some can make you a little bit nauseous
- 14:34if you go too fast.
- 14:37But these are all things that we can
- 14:38gain awareness from.
- 14:40And just like that building, and just like
- 14:42I can notice standing here, sitting here, and
- 14:44I can notice the sky, and I can
- 14:46notice that there's clouds up in the sky.
- 14:48You may or may not, I don't know
- 14:50if you guys can see that.
- 14:50Let me just see if I can show
- 14:51you.
- 14:52Can you see the clouds?
- 14:53Okay, yeah, kind of hard to see, I
- 14:54know.
- 14:55So there's clouds.
- 14:58There is also, as I'm sitting here, there
- 15:02is an awareness that I have of the
- 15:05space that I'm in, okay?
- 15:07Noticing the proximity right now.
- 15:10Like I said, I'm watching.
- 15:11There's some repair people here.
- 15:13They're repairing a door, trying to do something.
- 15:15And I'm aware of all these different things
- 15:17around me.
- 15:18Across to me on my right, your left,
- 15:21there's a student sitting on their laptop doing
- 15:23some reading or studying.
- 15:24I'm aware of all the trees around me,
- 15:27okay?
- 15:27I am aware right now of just the
- 15:34environment.
- 15:35That I'm in like this little courtyard here,
- 15:37okay?
- 15:39And I'm aware of that.
- 15:41Other things I could be aware of, there's
- 15:43different people that walk in and walk out
- 15:45at different times.
- 15:46So I think what I want to tell
- 15:47you is awareness is a big key to
- 15:50success.
- 15:51If we miss awareness, then we really miss
- 15:56the signals that could take us forward or
- 15:58push us backwards.
- 16:00And that's an important thing to understand.
- 16:02So as I said, the inputs define the
- 16:05results.
- 16:05And those inputs come, ladies and gentlemen, from
- 16:07your awareness.
- 16:09Number 15, volume creates impact.
- 16:12More reps lead to stronger outcomes.
- 16:15For those of you that do, right?
- 16:18If you do three sets of 15 or
- 16:22three sets of 10, right?
- 16:24The more reps you do, okay?
- 16:27The more reps you do, the stronger the
- 16:29outcome actually becomes.
- 16:31So if you started, for example, with a
- 16:34set, and let's say one set has 10
- 16:38reps in it.
- 16:38So you might do three sets of 10
- 16:42reps.
- 16:43The more reps you add helps.
- 16:46And sometimes what we'll do is we'll make
- 16:47it to be more sets and less reps.
- 16:53The reason is we get a little break
- 16:55between the sets.
- 16:57And I think these are important things.
- 16:59You don't need a perfect plan, guys.
- 17:02You need a consistent action.
- 17:04You need that every day.
- 17:06You can't say, well, gee, you know what?
- 17:07I don't want to do it today, okay?
- 17:11Because I don't feel like it.
- 17:13And you can't do that because you're going
- 17:16to break your pattern.
- 17:18Once you've gotten into a pattern, and once
- 17:20you're doing it so much that it just
- 17:23becomes automatic, like I got to do that,
- 17:27that's when life starts to change.
- 17:28It won't change overnight.
- 17:30Number 16, guys, small changes reduce risk, okay?
- 17:35Big changes fail fast.
- 17:39Small ones stick.
- 17:40We could talk about a car dealership and
- 17:43how they decided to make this a huge
- 17:45expansion, or one that I know of not
- 17:48far from us in Naples, Florida, where this
- 17:51guy was opening a pizzeria.
- 17:52He got a little bit, let's say, too
- 17:57aggressive, and he decided to buy another store
- 18:02next to him.
- 18:02So he was double.
- 18:03What happened a few months?
- 18:06He couldn't pay his rent.
- 18:09And he also opened another store in another
- 18:12part of town, and he couldn't pay that
- 18:13one either.
- 18:14So then he went out of business.
- 18:15So we got to be careful about these
- 18:17things.
- 18:18So a small change might be something like,
- 18:20when we serve food here, we're going to
- 18:24have a signature napkin, or we're going to
- 18:26make sure that we put a certain type
- 18:29of free app on the table, a couple
- 18:31of them, so people can taste it, and
- 18:33maybe they might order that app today.
- 18:35So that could be how that works.
- 18:37Number 17, guys, big results start small.
- 18:43I've said this before.
- 18:43Every major outcome that's ever happened began with
- 18:48a step.
- 18:50You can't complete a marathon until you first
- 18:53put your foot forward for the very first
- 18:55step.
- 18:56You can't complete a repair until you take
- 19:01the step to get the screwdriver.
- 19:03You can't learn something until you take the
- 19:07step to want to learn, be open to
- 19:11learning.
- 19:12Number 18, guys, patterns scale very fast.
- 19:16What you repeat is automatic.
- 19:18But be careful with what you make automatic.
- 19:22If it's something that dwindles away your time
- 19:25or dwindles away your purpose, you're going to
- 19:29be chasing an eight ball and saying, you
- 19:31know what, I feel like my day slipped
- 19:35through my fingers.
- 19:36Because you're not aware of the moment you're
- 19:39in.
- 19:39If I took nine out of 10 students
- 19:41at this campus, and I asked them, are
- 19:43you aware of anything?
- 19:46They'd look crazy.
- 19:48They'd be on their phones, you know, like
- 19:49this, walking across campus, doing some stupid stuff.
- 19:52And if I asked them, are they aware
- 19:54of what's around them?
- 19:56Are they aware of the sunshine?
- 19:58Are they aware of things?
- 19:59Now that I told them about it, they
- 20:01probably are.
- 20:02But they weren't aware of it before.
- 20:05And the pattern interrupt comes where we need
- 20:08to automatically start slowing down.
- 20:11And becoming aware of these things around us.
- 20:14Something drain-to-driven actually does a really
- 20:17good job of explaining firsthand.
- 20:19Number 19, guys, discipline beats burst.
- 20:24Short-term effort fades.
- 20:26Structure states.
- 20:29Structure states.
- 20:31The bursts may seem like they're doing this
- 20:34phenomenal job.
- 20:37But they quickly burn out.
- 20:40Number 20, guys, minor upgrades stack.
- 20:44Each improvement builds on the last thing that
- 20:47you worked on.
- 20:48The last thing.
- 20:50Small improvements, guys, don't stay small.
- 20:52Nope.
- 20:53They get bigger.
- 20:55I remember the first time I built our
- 20:57own custom website with our own system.
- 21:00It was very small.
- 21:01It was one page.
- 21:01And then we added all these modules.
- 21:04And now we're out to like a scheduling
- 21:06system.
- 21:06And that's a whole other thing.
- 21:07But my point is it started with just
- 21:09something that could manage webpages correctly and properly.
- 21:12And be 100% secure.
- 21:15Not something that had a million features.
- 21:18It had the core features.
- 21:19And then we added on additional options as
- 21:22we needed to.
- 21:23But we made sure that that was going
- 21:25to be scalable.
- 21:26And able to work in any of the
- 21:27environments we deployed it in.
- 21:30Number 21, guys, growth builds quietly.
- 21:33Most progress happens before it's visible.
- 21:36Yep, that's true.
- 21:38Most progress happens before it's visible.
- 21:40It's like the iceberg.
- 21:44The real heart or the meat of the
- 21:47iceberg is below.
- 21:49Way, way down.
- 21:51Not at the tippy top.
- 21:54Number 22, guys, persistence multiplies results.
- 22:11When we're consistent, we can actually get better.
- 22:16I'll give you an example.
- 22:19So many years ago, I didn't know I
- 22:21played pool pretty well.
- 22:22Even have my own stick, have my own
- 22:23cue things to, you know, basically make sure
- 22:27the stick is good and all ready for
- 22:29the ball before we play.
- 22:31But I didn't understand stick etiquette.
- 22:33I didn't understand how to play.
- 22:35I didn't understand how the angles work.
- 22:37But once I started to play and I
- 22:40was consistent with it, okay.
- 22:42And again, we're in a live environment here.
- 22:47And it looks like there might be like
- 22:50an ROTC or something that's doing some type
- 22:55of a run or a walk or something.
- 22:59Looks like that's what they're doing.
- 23:01So again, we're at a live campus here
- 23:04today.
- 23:05And again, you just never know what you're
- 23:07going to get, who you're going to get,
- 23:09or what they're going to do.
- 23:11Number 23, guys.
- 23:13I always try to pick a location that's
- 23:14kind of out of the beaten path, but
- 23:17somehow things sort of still find me.
- 23:19Number 23, structure creates stability.
- 23:23Systems hold the progress in place.
- 23:25You might have one of the most complex
- 23:27things you have to do, right?
- 23:31Create a system for it.
- 23:32In my book, I share how the systems
- 23:36I built have helped me and continue to
- 23:38help me grow every single day.
- 23:40People say to me, John, why didn't you
- 23:42do this earlier?
- 23:44Because I wasn't aware.
- 23:47Because I wasn't aware.
- 23:50And that awareness awakening changed my life.
- 23:54Number 24, guys.
- 23:56Stability creates consistency.
- 23:58When things are stable, they repeat almost effortlessly.
- 24:03So I've said to you guys that success
- 24:05starts where it gets uncomfortable.
- 24:08Well, then how is that working, John?
- 24:09Well, once you learn the pattern or once
- 24:11you know what to do, it's not hard
- 24:14anymore, okay?
- 24:16It's not hard anymore.
- 24:17It's not as uncomfortable.
- 24:21But in order to grow, you have to
- 24:23keep pushing yourself to doing things that are
- 24:25uncomfortable, not painful.
- 24:26I said uncomfortable.
- 24:28Number 25, guys.
- 24:30Consistency creates outcomes and results follows repetition.
- 24:34So results will follow the repetition.
- 24:37In a few minutes, we're going to have
- 24:38a whole bunch of people walking behind me
- 24:39here.
- 24:39So consistency is what turns the effort into
- 24:43results.
- 24:44It's not like you're just going to wake
- 24:45up one morning and bam, it's going to
- 24:48hit you.
- 24:49No.
- 24:50Those are the people that get extremely disappointed
- 24:52in life because they don't put the effort
- 24:55in.
- 24:55People think showing up is the total answer.
- 24:58It's not.
- 24:59Showing up is a big part of success,
- 25:01but it's not the entire piece.
- 25:03Like I said, it's a live environment here.
- 25:05So we have students walking behind, around.
- 25:08And again, this is just one of the
- 25:10things you get a benefit or non-benefit
- 25:12here, our pitfall of being on campus.
- 25:15Again, before we were very quiet and now
- 25:17it's like we're the last few minutes and
- 25:18then we're getting all these people just popping
- 25:19up.
- 25:20So focus compounds faster.
- 25:23Distraction slows growth.
- 25:25Focus accelerates it.
- 25:27That's pretty cool.
- 25:29Number 27, guys, small progress prevents stagnation.
- 25:32Small progress.
- 25:33When I was writing my book and I
- 25:36started several years ago for another book I
- 25:38was going to start, I had it on
- 25:41the calendar.
- 25:41I scheduled it, but I never would put
- 25:43the time into actually write the book.
- 25:46And I would have it on a calendar
- 25:48and I'd be like, oh, I'll do it
- 25:49another day.
- 25:49And I never would do it.
- 25:52What got me to write it was a
- 25:53system.
- 25:54You know what?
- 25:54I need to outline.
- 25:55Then I got in the outlining for a
- 25:57couple of weeks.
- 25:58And I'm like, oh, wait a minute.
- 25:58I've done enough outlining.
- 26:00I need to stop the outlining and actually
- 26:01write.
- 26:02And then if there's something different, I could
- 26:05change it.
- 26:06But I need to get something down in
- 26:07the system, in the computer.
- 26:09So as I said, small progress prevents stagnation.
- 26:13And that is consistent small progress, okay?
- 26:17Number 28, guys, repetition creates an identity.
- 26:20You become what you repeatedly do.
- 26:24You want to be a great actor?
- 26:26Keep repeating it.
- 26:27You want to become a student?
- 26:30Keep repeating that behavior.
- 26:32You want to become a great leader?
- 26:35Keep doing it.
- 26:36Keep repeating it.
- 26:38Leaders are not born, guys.
- 26:40They are made.
- 26:41I know.
- 26:41I went through scouting and that was the
- 26:45shift.
- 26:46When I was doing it, I didn't realize
- 26:49how scouts was shaping me to be a
- 26:53great leader.
- 26:54I didn't know that.
- 26:55I knew there were some great skills, but
- 26:57I didn't really appreciate it back then.
- 27:00Now I do.
- 27:02So direction shifts gradually.
- 27:04Change doesn't feel big, but it is.
- 27:08And when it happens, you're like, oh my
- 27:09gosh, is that really happening?
- 27:12Number 30, small actions win long-term.
- 27:15The smallest consistent actions always beat the biggest
- 27:17occasional ones.
- 27:20A lot of people say, you know, I'm
- 27:21going to domino that.
- 27:22And that's great.
- 27:22You want to domino it.
- 27:23But are you going to keep being able
- 27:25to do it consistently?
- 27:26Nope, you're going to burn out.
- 27:28Small actions today create big outcomes tomorrow.
- 27:31You don't need to build the entire palace
- 27:34of Rome in one day.
- 27:37Here's the shift, guys.
- 27:38You don't need a massive change right now.
- 27:40You need a small action you can repeat
- 27:43daily, consistently.
- 27:45Because the problem isn't that people don't want
- 27:48to grow.
- 27:49Nope.
- 27:50It's that they overestimate what needs to happen.
- 27:54They wait for motivation.
- 27:55They wait for the right time.
- 27:57They wait for something big.
- 27:59But growth doesn't wait, guys.
- 28:01It builds quietly, daily, through repetition.
- 28:06So instead of asking, what big move should
- 28:09I make?
- 28:11Ask, what small action can I repeat today?
- 28:14Because that answer is your future.
- 28:18Pretty cool, guys.
- 28:20For insights, check out BelieveMeAchieve.com, including my
- 28:22book.
- 28:23And I'll catch you guys real soon, because
- 28:24your next level is not built in one
- 28:26moment.
- 28:27It is built one action at a time.
- 28:29So get started now.
