- 0:00Speaker 1: For all your mad bastards loving the Big Show podcast,
- 0:05Speaker 1: Get up even Closer on Instagram, YouTube and kicked off
- 0:09Speaker 1: for for dogging four to seven NET very weekday on radio.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Yeah, that's correct man.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Good eight feels. How are you going interesting day for
- 0:20Speaker 3: me today?
- 0:20Speaker 2: Yes?
- 0:21Speaker 3: Because it's pressing with rain. It's raining, guys, but I
- 0:24Speaker 3: chucked all my wit with the gears on. I've got
- 0:27Speaker 3: my waterproof boots, pants, your Motivate jacket, no umbrella, but
- 0:31Speaker 3: just parking and walking down to your office which is
- 0:34Speaker 3: in the center of the Awkland CBD. It's like a
- 0:36Speaker 3: twenty minute walk CBD. And in the pressing down rain.
- 0:39Speaker 3: There's something about being dressed appropriately for the weather and
- 0:43Speaker 3: getting out there which I quite enjoy it.
- 0:45Speaker 4: You like that.
- 0:45Speaker 5: I loved it because you weren't getting wet. No, i'd
- 0:47Speaker 5: step in and in your face forless people in.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Your face water, I'd step in like extra deep puddles
- 0:55Speaker 3: and they.
- 0:56Speaker 6: It's very precarious because it has been absolutely pressing down
- 1:00Speaker 6: all day.
- 1:00Speaker 2: When you're crossing the road because there's.
- 1:02Speaker 6: A very large there's large pools of water there and
- 1:06Speaker 6: the cars zoom and pass. That's it's sprayed.
- 1:10Speaker 3: He used to do like a triathlon to get back
- 1:12Speaker 3: to the car park.
- 1:14Speaker 6: But yeah, she's she's pretty grim. If others nothing you
- 1:18Speaker 6: can do about it, so.
- 1:20Speaker 4: Not good.
- 1:21Speaker 6: It's fucking flooding like a bastard. I feel for all.
- 1:25Speaker 6: My extended family went on a big camping trip about
- 1:31Speaker 6: a week ago, and I don't think it was great.
- 1:34Speaker 4: What's that? What's the story? There? Are we moving?
- 1:36Speaker 5: We move in the Christmas holidays? How do you feel
- 1:39Speaker 5: about that? Does not not not the Christmas holidays but
- 1:41Speaker 5: the end of the year holidays.
- 1:44Speaker 6: I mean, I was saying to my wife today, isn't
- 1:45Speaker 6: this supposed to be kind of primo summer time? But actually,
- 1:50Speaker 6: the more I think about it, feb and March are
- 1:54Speaker 6: the best weather.
- 1:56Speaker 5: Yes, it used to be back in the day when
- 1:59Speaker 5: I was grown up and you Jason, Yes, but yes
- 2:03Speaker 5: it was much Julia, even October, yes, but now they
- 2:07Speaker 5: have definitely moved the seasons in fairy March is one.
- 2:11Speaker 5: So what I'd like is to work through. I think
- 2:13Speaker 5: in the UK they have it, and you just you
- 2:15Speaker 5: have Christmas Day off, Boxing Day off, back to.
- 2:19Speaker 4: Work, News Years, New Years if you work New.
- 2:22Speaker 5: Year's Day off, okay, back to work because you can
- 2:24Speaker 5: go to work and have a pissed up afterwork, it's fine.
- 2:26Speaker 5: And then and then you have February off. Yeah, see
- 2:31Speaker 5: that sounds good, So that's better.
- 2:32Speaker 6: I had a mate that came around today because he's
- 2:34Speaker 6: fixing up a few broken windows at the old Hoody
- 2:37Speaker 6: j household and that's west windows and that no they're
- 2:40Speaker 6: not smashes, like cracks in them, but we never bothered
- 2:43Speaker 6: to replace them.
- 2:44Speaker 2: And dear, that's what he's doing.
- 2:47Speaker 4: Right.
- 2:47Speaker 6: He's worked through the Christmas period and now he's looking
- 2:52Speaker 6: for feb and they're going to do a big sort
- 2:53Speaker 6: of tour up north.
- 2:54Speaker 5: Because it's kind of it's slightly annoying combining these two things,
- 3:00Speaker 5: one of which is your end of year holiday, yes,
- 3:03Speaker 5: which is your family and you can have a vacational
- 3:05Speaker 5: holiday a period of non work, combining that with fairly
- 3:09Speaker 5: stressful family time. Not necessarily, but you know, the travel
- 3:13Speaker 5: and the catching up and all of that. I think
- 3:15Speaker 5: separating those things out would.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Be it'd be great. Yeah, just back to your point
- 3:20Speaker 3: of when you were younger, it was hotter in October
- 3:22Speaker 3: or whatever. Did you know that forty six BC. I
- 3:27Speaker 3: heard this fact a long time ago. Just googled it
- 3:30Speaker 3: basically because there's a reason why years have a leap
- 3:32Speaker 3: year every fourth year. Yeah, because the three hundred and
- 3:35Speaker 3: sixty five days a year doesn't perfectly align with what
- 3:37Speaker 3: the seasons are doing. And in forty six BC it
- 3:40Speaker 3: had gotten so far out of whack that Julius Caesar
- 3:42Speaker 3: was like, all right, we're stopping here, we're pausing it here,
- 3:44Speaker 3: and we're not starting next year until it aligns again properly.
- 3:48Speaker 3: And so I think they added hmm, let me just
- 3:52Speaker 3: let me fine, Ah, that's right.
- 3:53Speaker 4: There must be the amount of time it takes to
- 3:55Speaker 4: go around, yes.
- 3:56Speaker 3: And it's slightly off Kilton with how many days there are,
- 3:58Speaker 3: So that's why there are leap years. But even that's
- 4:00Speaker 3: slightly off kilter. Right, So that year had four hundred
- 4:02Speaker 3: and forty five days, an extra eighty days so that
- 4:05Speaker 3: the winter solstice was once again at the end of
- 4:08Speaker 3: the year or whatever it is for them.
- 4:09Speaker 6: Yeah, So I'd love to add eighty days to my year.
- 4:14Speaker 4: Really, think of all the additional shows you could do.
- 4:17Speaker 6: Hey, just on that front, you were talking about family stresses.
- 4:20Speaker 6: I was woken up at midnight with an absolute shocker
- 4:24Speaker 6: of a nightmare. I subsequently woke up at four point
- 4:28Speaker 6: thirty am and that.
- 4:30Speaker 4: Was that was.
- 4:31Speaker 3: It was the nightmare similar to nightmare as you've had
- 4:33Speaker 3: in the past. He told us about.
- 4:36Speaker 6: No, not like that, okay, but it just tells me
- 4:41Speaker 6: my subconscious is all up the fucking wazi. Why I'll
- 4:44Speaker 6: tell you the dream. I know it's teenious talking about dream.
- 4:50Speaker 6: It is it is now in my dream my head.
- 4:54Speaker 6: All my girls home for Christmas, right, Okay, So I
- 4:57Speaker 6: had my four girls, but my my wife was actually
- 5:02Speaker 6: somewhere else in the dream for Christmas Day. She's a
- 5:05Speaker 6: shocking And then and then three of my girls said,
- 5:10Speaker 6: oh Dad, we're actually we've got actually something else and
- 5:14Speaker 6: we're going to go to this thing.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Is worried about being left alone.
- 5:18Speaker 6: And I was like, oh, oh, well, like I was
- 5:22Speaker 6: trying to be a backbone about it and just go
- 5:24Speaker 6: well that course, you know, you go and enjoy yourselves.
- 5:26Speaker 6: But one of my girls was still with me for
- 5:29Speaker 6: Christmas Day. And then I was sort of doing a
- 5:31Speaker 6: bit of gardening. I walked up to the driveway and
- 5:34Speaker 6: my one girl that was staying with me, she said, ah,
- 5:37Speaker 6: and she was all she was all glammed up, and
- 5:40Speaker 6: I said ah, oh, where are you going?
- 5:43Speaker 2: And she said, oh, I've been invited to the scene.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 5:46Speaker 6: And I could I could tell him my dream, right,
- 5:50Speaker 6: I could tell him my dream that she felt really
- 5:51Speaker 6: bad about it.
- 5:52Speaker 5: She would have been having fun with you, just she
- 5:55Speaker 5: was hoping that you would be distracted by your garden.
- 5:58Speaker 4: She'd make it clean.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Ilean get away.
- 6:01Speaker 4: Well, this is where here you come.
- 6:03Speaker 6: This is where it's funny, right, And so she was
- 6:07Speaker 6: going and I was like, oh, ah, my wife was away.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Anyway. This big car tends.
- 6:11Speaker 6: Out with about as like an eight seater, and the
- 6:14Speaker 6: cartoons up and the door and the passenger door opens,
- 6:19Speaker 6: and I look. I look in the car, and in
- 6:21Speaker 6: the back sort of four seats, it's like four adults,
- 6:24Speaker 6: one of whom is my wife, and I and I
- 6:29Speaker 6: and she wouldn't look at me. She was just she
- 6:32Speaker 6: was just staring at the ground. And then my daughter
- 6:34Speaker 6: got in this car and fucked off. And I didn't
- 6:38Speaker 6: mention anything to my wife because I thought, oh, this
- 6:39Speaker 6: is gonna be awkward if I pretend like I've seen her,
- 6:42Speaker 6: and she was trying not.
- 6:43Speaker 2: To be seen.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 6:44Speaker 4: And then she drove off.
- 6:46Speaker 6: And then I was just standing on my driveway, going,
- 6:49Speaker 6: so you are.
- 6:50Speaker 3: You currently obviously worried about your family leaving you?
- 6:53Speaker 4: Oh no, I don't know. I don't know what it
- 6:55Speaker 4: was to the it's the abandonment.
- 6:58Speaker 5: It's the leaving of the family home, the place where
- 7:01Speaker 5: you've been five years, separation thing where all of your
- 7:04Speaker 5: children have grown up where you did, and so it's
- 7:08Speaker 5: a part of your family.
- 7:09Speaker 4: Yes, it is the.
- 7:11Speaker 3: Whole Archy Big Show week days from four on Radio Hururarchy,
- 7:18Speaker 3: The Wary Big Show Podcast. You are the House.
- 7:21Speaker 6: I was thinking the house I was sinking today, ignoring Yeah, yeah,
- 7:27Speaker 6: you the house on the house.
- 7:29Speaker 3: You know how the house feels.
- 7:31Speaker 6: But I was singing about that today and going, actually,
- 7:33Speaker 6: that will be quite emotional.
- 7:34Speaker 2: I think it's been a long time with me.
- 7:36Speaker 4: There thing that you keep it, you're keeping it. Yes,
- 7:38Speaker 4: that's true. It's good.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Yeah it was. And I woke up and I.
- 7:44Speaker 4: Was like, oh oh yeah.
- 7:47Speaker 6: So I went into the bathroom and sacked in my
- 7:48Speaker 6: bape for a little while and then I did wee
- 7:54Speaker 6: sitting down and I couldn't hold back a fart.
- 7:56Speaker 2: And I know, my.
- 7:57Speaker 4: Wife, I love that.
- 8:00Speaker 3: That's a big deal for you. Then hear me rip
- 8:05Speaker 3: so many times.
- 8:07Speaker 6: I got to the point now or I gave from
- 8:09Speaker 6: my morning wheeze, and I can't.
- 8:11Speaker 2: I can't help it.
- 8:12Speaker 4: Yeah, most people, most dudes can't completely standing.
- 8:15Speaker 2: I just can't not fart.
- 8:17Speaker 3: Well, I'm at the point of my relationship when I
- 8:18Speaker 3: said to my wife, hatches, he's betting down the hatches betting.
- 8:24Speaker 6: Do you want to do the little flap at your
- 8:25Speaker 6: buttocks there that you're talking about yesterday?
- 8:27Speaker 4: I wish I was actually thinking about the same thing.
- 8:29Speaker 4: I'll let you. Sorry.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Well, I was going to say, to be honest, this
- 8:31Speaker 3: is of zero worth. Basically, if I'm having like baked
- 8:34Speaker 3: beans or something for lunch, I'll be like, oh, it's
- 8:36Speaker 3: gonna be a bit of a nightmare.
- 8:37Speaker 5: Later on, I woke up early, and I don't hate
- 8:40Speaker 5: to hoidy J houghdy J, but I woke up at
- 8:43Speaker 5: three thirty. I'm sorry, best wake up in the world,
- 8:48Speaker 5: three thirty. So then I was up at four, got
- 8:51Speaker 5: up at four. But between three thirty and four I
- 8:54Speaker 5: was just ripping airs.
- 8:55Speaker 4: Yeah, well I don't know.
- 8:56Speaker 6: I mean, it's just ripping air, but guess must just
- 8:59Speaker 6: build up. It was funny because I woke up again
- 9:02Speaker 6: at four thirty and I was like, oh fuck, and
- 9:04Speaker 6: I knew there was no way I was getting back
- 9:06Speaker 6: to sleep, and I went, I can't. I can't wake
- 9:08Speaker 6: my wife up, isn't it? And I was just sort
- 9:11Speaker 6: of lying there and I was like what do I do?
- 9:13Speaker 6: And then it was like quarter past five and I
- 9:15Speaker 6: was like ah, and then I started sort of nudging
- 9:19Speaker 6: you know, ah, you know, and then like five thirty, Ah,
- 9:26Speaker 6: you're awake.
- 9:27Speaker 4: You're like a dog.
- 9:28Speaker 6: It just sort of because I didn't know what to
- 9:30Speaker 6: do with myself and I'll.
- 9:33Speaker 4: Do what I do, man, get up and do some work.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Well I could, I should. I love working in the morning.
- 9:38Speaker 5: The trouble we've got at the moment is we've got
- 9:40Speaker 5: Grandma suit. We haven't spoken about this, but Grandma Sue's
- 9:42Speaker 5: staying that my wife's grandma. So we've moved my desk
- 9:47Speaker 5: into our bedroom because it lives in the spear bedrow.
- 9:50Speaker 5: You got your work and your up and start pounding
- 9:53Speaker 5: away on the keyboard because my wife's you know what
- 9:56Speaker 5: I mean.
- 9:56Speaker 4: So yeah to the land, which was as.
- 9:59Speaker 3: I had thought literally yesterday, I was like, why didn't
- 10:01Speaker 3: I after doing breakfast last week and loving the hours,
- 10:04Speaker 3: why didn't I start getting up at six a m.
- 10:08Speaker 3: And drive. So there's a great walk you can do
- 10:10Speaker 3: on the peninsula. Drive there every morning, go for a
- 10:13Speaker 3: nice walk and just be up and out walking and
- 10:15Speaker 3: looking at the sunrises up every day and feeling awesome.
- 10:17Speaker 4: Why don't you do it three days? One day next
- 10:19Speaker 4: week tomorrow.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Tomorrow it'll be persing with rain, but like next week,
- 10:24Speaker 3: I should try it.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Walk that one too. I've done that walk.
- 10:27Speaker 3: But I know that because I don't have to get
- 10:29Speaker 3: up at that time. Yes, it'll be such if you
- 10:31Speaker 3: do it.
- 10:31Speaker 4: One day and just see what it's like. Yeah, there's
- 10:34Speaker 4: something about getting there is it feels there.
- 10:37Speaker 6: Is and and and particularly if you get up early
- 10:40Speaker 6: and you're productive with it.
- 10:41Speaker 2: I'm not productive with it.
- 10:43Speaker 6: I get up and just suck on my back and
- 10:45Speaker 6: have coffee and ship instead of nice. You know, it
- 10:48Speaker 6: would be good to set them just tap away my
- 10:50Speaker 6: typewrider or something.
- 10:51Speaker 5: Yeah, you could do that after a walk though, suck
- 10:53Speaker 5: on your vape and have a coffee on me.
- 10:55Speaker 6: Yes, well, my wife and I have been walking in
- 10:57Speaker 6: the mornings, but this week it's been fucked.
- 10:58Speaker 3: It has been ship because you know what is getting
- 11:02Speaker 3: as I was saying, putting all your fucking with the
- 11:03Speaker 3: gears on going up to the like why tuck of
- 11:05Speaker 3: the arrangers and doing one of those walks because the
- 11:07Speaker 3: trees kind of shelter.
- 11:08Speaker 4: And just flashing passers by.
- 11:09Speaker 3: And getting your buzzies out.
- 11:14Speaker 6: Actually, Kate had a really good idea I'll show yesterday.
- 11:19Speaker 3: I can't believe he's encouraging this by.
- 11:21Speaker 6: The way House talking about my body in the mirror
- 11:23Speaker 6: there and Bogie Et maybe.
- 11:28Speaker 2: I mean, I'm not telling you how to do your job.
- 11:29Speaker 4: Man. You stand in front of a mirror, but in
- 11:32Speaker 4: the mirror is Et.
- 11:35Speaker 3: But Et has got a bit of a honker on him.
- 11:40Speaker 5: Jason's Yeah, a couple of massive downstairs.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Hey you listen to.
- 11:48Speaker 4: Yeah, massive downstairs PAGs if you could.
- 11:51Speaker 3: Four to seven week days radio heard
