- 0:00So many of our favors to watch well.
- 0:04Look, now they're being bashed. I guess that's what we should
- 0:09expect on the Bullied Nostalgia Podcast.
- 0:15Lookout for weirdos. Welcome to the Bullied Nostalgia
- 0:19Podcast, where we praise Beethoven and revisit movies
- 0:24from our childhoods as adults. You've got a lot to go through.
- 0:28As this season comes to a close, we're celebrating all things
- 0:32dinosaurs and all things grandma.
- 0:37Grandma. It's been a season where we
- 0:40reviewed both the highest rated movie according to Rotten
- 0:44Tomatoes as well as the lowest. Needless to say, it's been a
- 0:48wild ride. I hope we don't hit an iceberg
- 0:52and we end this season strong, but only time will tell.
- 0:56Well, don't forget to breathe in and out.
- 1:00I'm Tim and I'm joined by Kai. So that was 5 intros out of 51.
- 1:07Chance. That's me.
- 1:08And John? Hello, should we mention our
- 1:11special guest? Well.
- 1:13It sounds like he's going to be talking regardless of whether or
- 1:16not we are, so Chance's little one is sitting next to him too,
- 1:20so he might chime in at any point.
- 1:22We'll see. Yeah, he'll give his two cents.
- 1:24Isn't that right, bud? No incorrect.
- 1:30So for anyone looking for us or more of our podcast, you can
- 1:34find us at bulliedpod@gmail.com or on any of the socials.
- 1:40We're all over the place now. Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, you
- 1:44name it. And you can find our merch on
- 1:48redbubble.com by searching Bullied Pod.
- 1:52Today's episode has us look back at the last year and review the
- 1:57big hits and big misses of our fourth year podcasting together.
- 2:03Before I get into the data, what are people's hot takes on Season
- 2:094? Looking back, how do you feel
- 2:12about it? I think we were remiss to not
- 2:16feature some of our more beloved guest stars.
- 2:20I've said before that the episodes with Eric are some of
- 2:22my favorite and unfortunately we were not able to have an episode
- 2:26there this last season. Yeah, due to a scheduling
- 2:30conflict, Eric wasn't able to join us, and I was going to talk
- 2:35about this during our lunatic session, but that was supposed
- 2:38to be the Babysitter's Club with Eric, and John watched the
- 2:43Babysitter's Club before that movie.
- 2:47I sure did. Good thing I made notes so I
- 2:49won't have to rewatch it again are.
- 2:52You sure it won't be fresh in your mind?
- 2:54It's in my brain, my brain, the center of my chain.
- 2:57OK, he did take notes or he just watched it tonight.
- 3:01It's hard to say. John, what are your thoughts on
- 3:05Season 4 I. Feel like season 4 was maybe the
- 3:09most amount of properties that I haven't actually seen before, so
- 3:13it's getting a little bit more exposure to watching some things
- 3:17I was vaguely familiar with or had never seen, which was
- 3:20exciting, getting exposure to that stuff.
- 3:22Until after you'd seen it and then you're like oh crap.
- 3:26True. I just, I just think Chance and
- 3:30Kylan are so lucky to watch all these things they've never seen
- 3:33before. I've now seen the absolute gift
- 3:36it is to be exposed to new things.
- 3:39And I mean, I like dinosaurs, so the more dinosaurs you fit into
- 3:43anything, I think it only makes things better.
- 3:46Did we have a dinosaurs count? Did anybody keep that?
- 3:48I did OK, John. What?
- 3:50Really. How?
- 3:50Many was it. We mentioned dinosaurs in six
- 3:54episodes. The most notable dinosaurs sore
- 3:57episode apart from Land Before Time and Dino writers was
- 4:01Miracle on 31st St. We had so much time before
- 4:04action that terrible and he. Hate the Miracle on 34th St.
- 4:08episode. I was told to be a lawyer and
- 4:12you wouldn't have any of it. OK, we'll just come back to that
- 4:16guy. Tell us your thoughts on Season
- 4:184. It felt.
- 4:19Both shorter and longer than it was.
- 4:23OK, elaborate. When I scroll to the.
- 4:25Bottom of season 4. It's like, that was a long time
- 4:28ago. But then I scroll to up and it's
- 4:31like OK, that was very recent. It has both episodes that I have
- 4:36classified in long term memory and in short term memory in the.
- 4:40Past I've shared fun data about where we are in the search list
- 4:46when you're looking for podcasts.
- 4:48That number continues to improve for people who are looking for
- 4:53anything nostalgia related. We are now the 14th podcast that
- 4:58you will find I. Nostalgia for like, anything or
- 5:02nostalgia for movies. Well I mean if you Google
- 5:05nostalgia on Spotify there's 14 train podcasts.
- 5:10That's what I was wondering. Two separate metrics, John.
- 5:13We are 14th for nostalgic TV, but also we are 14th for just
- 5:19straight up nostalgia. So if you were to change it up
- 5:22to like nostalgic quilting, we probably would drop quite a few
- 5:27metrics, but this was. Too many people doing nostalgic
- 5:30quilting. Yeah, we're catching the people
- 5:32who aren't specific that they're looking for quilting.
- 5:34Crazy enough, we're actually #7 on nostalgic quilting.
- 5:39I don't know what the crossover is there.
- 5:41But it's a very tight knit fan base.
- 5:44Tight knit. Tight knit?
- 5:45I didn't even know. That wasn't conventional.
- 5:50No, no, I thought that was just reaching for the lowest Berry.
- 5:53Fruit. No, I'm always there.
- 5:55I'm always with the lowest Berry.
- 5:58I also talked a little bit about this year's metrics in our 50th
- 6:02episode. So I don't have a ton more that
- 6:05I want to share, except that our little Canadian podcast has seen
- 6:10quite a bit of growth South of the border this year.
- 6:13Over the last few months, US listeners far outnumber Canadian
- 6:18ones for the first time. Speaking of North America, we've
- 6:22had listeners in most parts of it.
- 6:25People have listened to our podcast in 35 States and seven
- 6:29provinces from a back end perspective.
- 6:34Another change about this season is that our podcast joined
- 6:38TikTok. I've been making 32nd clips for
- 6:42the last year and they've been seen by 10s of thousands of
- 6:46people, some of which have come over.
- 6:49That feels weird. You can't see that.
- 6:52Some of them have come over and actually listened to our
- 6:55podcast. OK, before we breakdown the
- 6:59season, I wanted to give people an opportunity to find their
- 7:04inner bad movie. Earlier this year, John had us
- 7:09pick which Land Before Time character we would embody.
- 7:14So I thought it would be fun for each of us to be the avatar of
- 7:19one of our episodes this season. They don't want us to pick for
- 7:23ourselves. Which episode this season do you
- 7:29think most embodies John? Oh, can we give him lunatics?
- 7:34I don't think lunatics is quite an.
- 7:36Embody. Well, I think it does.
- 7:39We see so much of the positive, but lunatics is a rare instance
- 7:43in which you truly hated something, and I think it was
- 7:47one of my favorite moments in the whole season.
- 7:49I think John do this day product.
- 7:51All right, John, sounds like chance picked for you.
- 7:54Do you think I am? So are we just picking episodes
- 7:57that people hated them? Is that the consensus?
- 8:01We good. Break the change on be the
- 8:04change. For Tim, he got most off the
- 8:10rails in Miracle on 31st St. He wasn't a judge or a lawyer,
- 8:15he just kind of got to. Showed up in the courtroom be a
- 8:19wild. Card he.
- 8:20Was the dinosaur. Because Tim was so focused on
- 8:24dinosaurs in that episode, his avatar is Mr. Attenborough, the
- 8:31Santa Claus actor riding on the back of a dinosaur from Dino
- 8:36Ride. Can I rephrase John's since I
- 8:38was offered and then Chance gave it for me?
- 8:41John is Michael Jackson singing Have You Seen My Childhood?
- 8:46But he's stuck in the jail from Elbow and Grouchland.
- 8:50Am I inside an Orca outfit? If you want to be, I guess,
- 8:56might you ask that? Do you really?
- 9:01Want to? Chance also needs to keep 1
- 9:04friend. John, just so you know, there's
- 9:07a ton of battle damage going on over there.
- 9:10Me. Yes.
- 9:11What's? The sound you're hearing like I
- 9:13don't. Look like.
- 9:15You're in a wind tunnel. Yeah, it's fine.
- 9:18Right now. It's like it's rustling against
- 9:20clothing or something periodically.
- 9:22OK, All right. I'm going to give chance.
- 9:26The embodiment of Archer from small soldiers and he is
- 9:31carrying the metallic whip from Spot hard that gets seen and not
- 9:37used because Archer doesn't fight.
- 9:41He would have a cool weapon just for show.
- 9:43All right, Chance, What's ties Avatar?
- 9:47Kylan is the bad guy from Adventures of Elmo and
- 9:51Grouchland, yeah. OK, that's it, that's it.
- 9:57OK, so let's jump into the episodes this season and chat
- 10:01about them. The season opener this year, I
- 10:05was very excited to circle back to a joke that we had made a
- 10:10year ago. I put out this episode on the
- 10:13anniversary of the fluffy episode the year before and in
- 10:18retrospect to you guys, I am super embarrassed by that joke.
- 10:21And she was all good. It was really bad.
- 10:24Oh, that's the Free Willy episode, by the way.
- 10:26Yeah, I know Free Willy. We joked about it on that
- 10:30episode that that would scare people away from our podcast,
- 10:34and I think it did. It did.
- 10:35I think that it definitely stopped a lot of potential
- 10:40listeners. Kim, you've got to take risks
- 10:43and you took a risk and that's OK.
- 10:46Not all risks pay off to avoid confusion.
- 10:51This is the Free Willy 2 episode where somehow Tim did a Fluffy's
- 10:56anniversary as what if they took over the world.
- 11:00But we are talking about Free Willy 2 right now.
- 11:02Yeah, every once in a while you'll make like a little album
- 11:05cover for one of the episodes and I'll be like, oh, that's
- 11:08kind of horrible. I'm loving Tim's album covers
- 11:12and especially his synopsis. Has anybody looked hard at the
- 11:15Ewoks cover? Not particularly should I?
- 11:19Anyways. It's Kirby falling down the
- 11:23chasm, yeah. Amazing.
- 11:25Anyways, Free Willy, it was weird having an episode where we
- 11:31come back to it later in the 50th episode.
- 11:34Right, because because we end up watching the cartoon episode.
- 11:38Absolutely. It was very weird hearing us
- 11:40talk about this TV show, like it's this wild and crazy thing,
- 11:43and it's like, yeah, I know. Sucked shut up.
- 11:48Past version of me. That's fun.
- 11:51Free Willy twos where we started getting into some AI battles
- 11:54between Eagle and Orcas. Let's talk about that.
- 11:57John gave out a bunch of awards last year.
- 12:00This year we used AI to force fights between orcas and eagles
- 12:06and to write chances dialogue for him.
- 12:08I. Forgot about that.
- 12:11Good. If we were giving an award to AI
- 12:13this year, what would it be? What?
- 12:15Would you say like most controversy guest host?
- 12:19OK. So this is where I realized that
- 12:21my rating system sucked. It says try to grasp straws for
- 12:25anything. Oh yeah.
- 12:26What was your rating? It was this.
- 12:28Adjective system. Instead of saying this is a
- 12:30three out of five, because that doesn't mean much, I would say,
- 12:34oh, this is a pretty good movie that is.
- 12:37Right, your two word descriptors is the.
- 12:40Yeah, I was using actual adjectives that fit the
- 12:42scenario. So I would say it was a fun but
- 12:45not very great movie. Kind of.
- 12:46This is a black and white movie. Chance, is this you just getting
- 12:51revenge for someone else's rating system?
- 12:53It is, yeah. At the start of the season, I
- 12:55was keeping track of how many times I disagreed with chance.
- 12:59I only noticed one episode where I agreed with your chance and
- 13:04every other episode I was adamantly against whatever
- 13:07ranking you had made. Was the one you agreed really
- 13:11Dino riders? OK, well let's talk about Dino
- 13:13riders. I mean anytime Land before Time
- 13:16is brought up I'm a fan so imagining Spike with the machine
- 13:20gun on his back going it was pretty good.
- 13:25Do you think it's funny that we did the Lamb Before Time episode
- 13:28right after and we didn't brief Brad on what the Dino Riders
- 13:33episode was and it hadn't even come out yet when he recorded
- 13:37the episode with us? And somehow all of his
- 13:40conspiracies tied perfectly into Dino Riders.
- 13:45Did we ever get that shirt? Dinosaurs, guns don't kill
- 13:48people. Nothing kills people.
- 13:51I don't think we did. I put it on the list, but I
- 13:54wanted to give some spacing between that and the
- 13:57Transformers. What?
- 13:58Because it's so similar? But it is very funny.
- 14:01The same joke. I guess we're talking about Lamb
- 14:04before Time 3. So John made it sound in that
- 14:09episode like people shipping fictional characters was
- 14:14something that other people did. But to be clear, as someone
- 14:19who's known John for a long time, he loves to ship fictional
- 14:24characters. Really.
- 14:26We started watching the old Green Arrow show Arrow together
- 14:31and there's 2 characters, Felicity and Diggle.
- 14:34Felicity was the love interest for the main character but John
- 14:39needed her to be shipped with someone else.
- 14:43I don't know how many videos he sent me from YouTube.
- 14:47Finn and Ray from Star Wars, all of their scenes set to some love
- 14:53song because they had to. OK, JJ Abrams shipped them in
- 14:58the first movie and then they changed directors twice, so I
- 15:01didn't. Know not a ship.
- 15:02If it's the writer's idea, then it's Canon.
- 15:05That's right guys. JJ Abrams was my fan fiction.
- 15:09I think everyone was anticipating there was going to
- 15:12be a lot more romantic YouTube compilations of Finn and Ray.
- 15:16John, you often look at romantic compilations of characters.
- 15:21Just the ones he's shipping. Yes, and I do think it is
- 15:25something that your everyday person does, right listeners?
- 15:28John, I'm not hearing anybody. They're saying yes in a couple
- 15:33months time. Yeah, all of his spy hard votes
- 15:36are saying yes, right? Now you know what, with how
- 15:40popular we're getting, maybe people are shipping us.
- 15:42No, no. No, John.
- 15:45You need to think those through, John.
- 15:47Who would they be shipping? I didn't.
- 15:49I'm getting shipped with AI. I'm not talking about with each
- 15:55other, I'm saying someone might want to ship me with another
- 15:58celebrity. OK, name 3.
- 16:01Three other celebrities. Name three celebrities that you
- 16:04think it would be plausible that one of our listeners would ship
- 16:08you with. Well, I'm probably too old to be
- 16:11shipped with any of the chipettes.
- 16:17I think the chip hats are about as old as you are.
- 16:21So something that I appreciate about the Land Before Time 3
- 16:24Episode 2 that doesn't normally come out in this podcast is that
- 16:27we hold back the curtain a little bit on cannibalism jokes.
- 16:32Yeah, we were really breaking the glass ceiling on that one.
- 16:36It's real subtle. John, just so you know, the chip
- 16:39hats were first introduced in 1983.
- 16:41Sorry, Tim Sage. Exactly.
- 16:44Yeah, Tim, anything you want to tell us about any YouTube
- 16:47couple? It's not shipping if it's
- 16:50cannons. Yes.
- 16:54I love a good cannibal joke and John hates them so anytime the
- 17:00one sneaks through the cracks I'm a big fan.
- 17:03Speaking of sneaking through the cracks, Tim also loved my poop
- 17:06joke in that episode. It's true, that one, I laughed.
- 17:10Pretty. Hard.
- 17:12That was pretty good, right? How?
- 17:17How He falls from grace. John, I like the fact that you
- 17:22are laughing at that poop joke and.
- 17:24Nobody else it was. So good.
- 17:28OK, the LEM Before Time episode is also the episode where Kai
- 17:33traded in his scoring cookies officially for his new system.
- 17:40And I was going to talk about scoring later in the podcast,
- 17:43but this one's so topical that I'm going to talk about Kai's
- 17:46scoring right now. Kai told us he would review each
- 17:50episode as Bob Marley and predict what the ghosts of past,
- 17:55present and future would think of movies.
- 17:59Neither of those things happen. Look away, I forgot that I did
- 18:02this in this episode. Not only did we not see any
- 18:05ghostly predictions, but I don't know if you know who Bob Marley
- 18:09is. Bob Marley.
- 18:12Yes, he sings. No woman, no cry.
- 18:17I'm leaving. You guys can do the.
- 18:20Rest of the series without me. Oh my goodness.
- 18:24Feels like I'm talking about a paperweight again.
- 18:28I'm so tired already so. We'd be done here.
- 18:30Can we be done? So we did miss a good
- 18:34opportunity because we talked about all this Christmas talk
- 18:37and then I put it in my notes, even to circle back to for the
- 18:40Christmas episode. I didn't open my notes in time,
- 18:43I guess. So missed opportunities I guess.
- 18:46Chance I remember you feeling quite fondly of Chomper in Land
- 18:50Before Time 5. You felt like Chomper could have
- 18:53his own spin offs, maybe in some different movie genres.
- 18:56So I said that. You did?
- 18:58Oh no chance you love Chomper this episode.
- 19:01I don't remember. That love, love, love.
- 19:05Was that an impression for a lot of more time Chomper?
- 19:09Sitting in the tree. I'm the shipper now.
- 19:17Anyways, I invited our controversial guest AI to come
- 19:21up with a list of Chomper movie mashups.
- 19:25Are we thinking like Chomper in Men in Black?
- 19:27Is that what this kind of thing is?
- 19:29Yeah, it gave me 15 ideas. I'm just going to read the top
- 19:334. OK, we've.
- 19:34Got best? Or top as in.
- 19:37The yeah. What are the top four?
- 19:39The first ones that came back with or your favorites.
- 19:42Oh my favorites. We've got the Chomper games.
- 19:45In a harsh future, young dinosaurs are forced into
- 19:49survival trials, and Chopper becomes an unlikely symbol of
- 19:53rebellion. OK, the silence of the Chomp.
- 19:59The Quiet Valley is terrorized by mysterious disappearances,
- 20:04and all clues point to a predator no one suspects.
- 20:07The T Rex, The sharp tooth. No one suspects that.
- 20:11No spike. Yeah, it's definitely Spike in
- 20:14the end. Yeah, Spike is the murder.
- 20:18We've got a few good dinosaurs. Chomper defends a fellow Dino
- 20:22accused of attacking the herd, uncovering a conspiracy that
- 20:26shakes the valley. My top pick is the ROM option.
- 20:30It's called you've got tail. No, no, I wonder.
- 20:37Crime. Chomper navigates awkward long
- 20:39distance love after forming a bond with a pen pal, Dino from
- 20:43beyond the Great Valley. I think I say beyond the grave
- 20:46I. Am not convinced that John found
- 20:49these through AI. What are you suggesting?
- 20:52Some popular fanfics out there of Chomper finding out that
- 20:57Littlefoot killed his. Parents, do you think this was
- 21:01on the Dark Web of Land Before Time wiki?
- 21:04Or that you wrote it on the Dark Web of Land Before Time wiki.
- 21:07Possibly my favorite moment from the Land Before Time episode was
- 21:11when I brought up the AI battles between the characters and Kai's
- 21:16like well Petrie's obviously going to win.
- 21:19I'm like, first one would die, Petrie.
- 21:23Going from our most controversial guest to our most
- 21:28controversial episode, John, we're eight months past it at
- 21:33this point. Looking back, what do you have
- 21:37to say about Spy Hard? Fries, I did actually rank all
- 21:42the episodes in terms of my preference.
- 21:45Where did Spy hard land on that? Probably 9th.
- 21:51Wow, I appreciate your honesty. I appreciated the idea of you
- 21:57guys watching it and getting to hear you talk about the
- 22:00suffering you went through and getting to laugh at that.
- 22:03That was fun. Probably what bumped it down to
- 22:059th place was that it also grieved you guys an opportunity
- 22:08to talk about how much you dislike referential humor.
- 22:12OK, John, you hated this one. Tell us about lunatics.
- 22:16Yeah, half the episode was about Space Jam 2.
- 22:19That's true. I did appreciate that we got to
- 22:22meet the other side of chance. What's up fam?
- 22:26It's me. My alter ego, you feel me?
- 22:30Yo, what's good? What is good dog?
- 22:33But those were my most memorable moments.
- 22:36Everything else I have to say about lunatics, I already said
- 22:39it in the episode. All right, so after Lunatics, we
- 22:42came in with Witches. We've long said if we watch a
- 22:46good movie, we have a hard time making a good episode.
- 22:51But Witches was a great episode, and we've already established
- 22:55it's like a 95 or something on Rotten Tomatoes, so it throws
- 23:01that concept out the window. And I think it's just because
- 23:04it's weird. Yeah, it's crazy.
- 23:07Yes. The concept of it, the world
- 23:09that they built, the universe that it happens in, there's just
- 23:13so many. Well, if that's true, then does
- 23:15that mean this is true? We got to riff on that world
- 23:18building a lot. My number one take away is
- 23:22there's so many times I could have been abducted as a kid by
- 23:25someone who didn't have purple eyes.
- 23:28Oh, OK, I'll. Follow you.
- 23:30You don't have purple eyes? You were looking at all the
- 23:33wrong people. Yeah, false flag.
- 23:36I was given the rules. I didn't know no one else was
- 23:40playing by them. And for all we know, by the time
- 23:43you get into the late 90s, witches could have been wearing
- 23:46colored contact lenses, I like to think.
- 23:49They know it's unfair. That feels like cheating.
- 23:52One of the witches would suggest it at one of their board
- 23:55meetings and then they'll head which would laser beamer with
- 23:58her eyes. Yeah, their laser beams can't go
- 24:01through the colored contact. It's like a cyclops situation.
- 24:04I do feel like the witches finally gave us the answer of
- 24:09who our weirdos are. Or we've been saying all this
- 24:11time, lookout for weirdos, but we.
- 24:13Found them. Yeah.
- 24:15What does that even mean? What do we do with weirdos once
- 24:18we found them? Except snakes and chocolates
- 24:21from them. That's OK.
- 24:23Who gives a kid a snake and thinks do it for come down from
- 24:29your tree house, I'll give you a big snake.
- 24:32I mean, the chocolate clearly wasn't working, so she had to
- 24:35think of something. I like to think that there's
- 24:38different forms of education within the witches and some just
- 24:41aren't that learned in their witchy ways.
- 24:44This is a great Valley situation.
- 24:46Yeah, the haves and have nots really.
- 24:49That witch is from District 12. Of the Chomper games, Yeah,
- 24:53after the witches came the Chipmunk adventure and my
- 25:00shipped love interest. I feel like the episode was
- 25:05mostly Tim defending his nostalgia.
- 25:09And where the heck did that Penguin pendant photo?
- 25:13Come from We also learned a lot about illegal diamond trade.
- 25:18Their strategies are so outlandish that no one would
- 25:21think to look for the Dinos in a sunken ship for a windmill.
- 25:26John, look for the Dinos. That's what I heard too.
- 25:30He was trying to sneak dinosaurs into another episode.
- 25:33Subliminal messaging. Look at the prehistoric tongue.
- 25:36Later in the podcast, John's just.
- 25:38Going to be like Dinos, Dinos, Dinos.
- 25:42OK, so Miracle on 34th St. Revisiting that episode, I had
- 25:46an epiphany. Dylan Mcdermott's character is
- 25:50named Brian. Does Brian owe Kris Kringle life
- 25:55debt or something? Yeah, it's like kind of insane.
- 25:59You'll do anything you won't know.
- 26:00Today. But someday I will once again
- 26:02get in trouble with the law, and I need you to be.
- 26:05There, I'm not just talking about the legal battle, I'm
- 26:08talking about how he is going out of his way to mess up his
- 26:11relationship with his girlfriend and his future daughter over to
- 26:17Santa Claus. He does so much stuff to get her
- 26:22to believe in Santa. Is it one of those situations
- 26:25where it's when the sun shines and the ice melts like the
- 26:28shadow, calling back an old favor?
- 26:30The sun is shining, but the ice is slippery.
- 26:33Oh yeah, but. Ice, Ice.
- 26:34Slippery. There, here we go.
- 26:36I was just surprised that more than one of you had the idea
- 26:39that Santa manipulated some hygiene products so that they
- 26:45would end up having a baby. We used the word condom in the
- 26:48previous episode. OK, OK, You're the one who said
- 26:51it. And you were surprised that we
- 26:53came to the obvious conclusion? Yeah, it's kind of hard to not
- 26:58think that. Chance you will be happy to hear
- 27:01there's a TikTok of that Oh. Yeah, that's what I want my
- 27:05digital footprint to be. I I hate that episode, but I
- 27:09also love it just a little bit. I was playing by the rules and
- 27:14you guys weren't. Chance was a biased judge and
- 27:19dad was talking about dinosaurs. It's like the law and Order
- 27:24intro. There are people who apprehend
- 27:26the suspects and then there are lawyers and dinosaurs.
- 27:31That was one of my favorite moments of the whole season.
- 27:35Kylan was taking it very, very seriously, and every so many
- 27:41sentences Tim would pretend like he was saying something relevant
- 27:44to what Kai was saying, but it would turn into a reference to
- 27:48the Jurassic Park movie. And in a certain part, Tim
- 27:53starts speaking. Kai hasn't even heard him say a
- 27:55few words. And Kai's just like stop.
- 27:57Talking about dinosaurs. Yeah, hold on to your stockings.
- 28:04Ho ho ho didn't say the magic word.
- 28:09It's so good. Clever girl with the Raptor
- 28:12wrapping the present. All right, let's talk about
- 28:16Elmo. Let's address the Elmo in the
- 28:19room. We know that our demographic
- 28:21varies, so every once in a while you need to do an episode for
- 28:26the Cool Kid 1 Ticket to Elmo, please.
- 28:30Here's my favorite joke. I also like the quote when Kim
- 28:38was like John and Josh thought they were making fun of the
- 28:40movie and then they had to blow raspberries and the movie's like
- 28:44hold my beard. There is also a ticket for that
- 28:48part. Blowing raspberries is so gross
- 28:52I can't even somebody needed to get.
- 28:55Fired. Sure.
- 28:57OK, OK. Mandy Patinkin.
- 28:59What's the bad guy's name in this movie again?
- 29:01Kylan, use your clicky. Keys.
- 29:03Look it up. I'm not on my computer right
- 29:05now. I know it's completely out of
- 29:07context, like it was at a different episode, but one of my
- 29:10favorite moments from this whole season was Kai's.
- 29:12I'm looking it up. Huxley.
- 29:16Huxley, there it is. Huxley, yes.
- 29:20Looking it up, yeah, Huxley eyebrows think are a symbiotic
- 29:28relationship. Yeah, they're like face mites.
- 29:32What do you think they eat the bugs in his eyebrows?
- 29:35Well, they are his eyebrows. They.
- 29:36Eat his dead skin. Well I was thinking maybe they
- 29:38eat the sleep in his eyes or something like that.
- 29:42So something more nightmare fuelish than they could.
- 29:44Have a big ego? Your head gets bigger.
- 29:47Those are there to eat the excess head that's growing.
- 29:51Well, that's pretty good. Is this a metaphor for Kai
- 29:54because he's the Huxley guy? I don't know why you called me
- 29:57Huxley. I don't know we.
- 29:59I thought it was funny. It genuinely has nothing to do
- 30:02with me. I mean, Chance did assign mean
- 30:05things to everyone that yeah. Yeah, I just think it's funny.
- 30:09So in small soldiers they try and give this concept like the
- 30:15Gorgons survived against this army of 1000 commandos, but we
- 30:23know. Oh.
- 30:23Hold on, Dad. One second.
- 30:24One second. It was so confused.
- 30:30Yes, sorry. We know the Gorgons.
- 30:35We know that Chip Hazard goes to the department store and comes
- 30:38back with hundreds of commandos. Presumably that store didn't
- 30:43sell just Commandos. So did they massacre?
- 30:46Them. Yeah, I think that means that
- 30:48they murdered a lot of things off screen, yeah.
- 30:51Where's that story? So I put Small Soldiers as my
- 30:55least favorite episode of the season.
- 30:57Reason being, yeah, I felt like we just explained the movie.
- 31:03Yeah, we didn't really joke about the movie, which I think
- 31:06explains it's such a short runtime for a podcast episode
- 31:09because we didn't really joke. That's interesting.
- 31:11I also don't regard it as one of our better episodes this season,
- 31:15and often you can tell that by runtime.
- 31:19If there are good jokes, I'll leave them in and let the time
- 31:23stretch out. I'm pretty sure that's the
- 31:25shortest this episode of the season, and it's because once I
- 31:29cut everything that wasn't instrumental or a joke, there
- 31:34wasn't much left. Yeah.
- 31:35I think it was just because there's so much going on in the
- 31:38world, but not much to talk about.
- 31:40In the real. World Relation.
- 31:42In the world of toy soldiers. You mean like shipping chip
- 31:46hazard with bazooka anyways? I just feel like Chip, Hazard
- 31:51and Archer need to make up. Make up or make up?
- 31:54Yeah, make up, make up. Whenever we do these seasons in
- 31:58review, I find that we rarely have things to talk about when
- 32:02we get to the really recent episodes because they haven't
- 32:04really had time to percolate and see new things yet.
- 32:08But. That's fair.
- 32:09We did just have our 50th episode.
- 32:12Any thoughts on that? I would say the 50th episode was
- 32:15my least favorite of this season.
- 32:18I think the first half is pretty good, but the second-half, when
- 32:20we start talking about these random episodes we watched,
- 32:23Small Soldiers at least has the benefit of cohesion, whereas
- 32:27this one is kind of all over the place.
- 32:29And as a guy who watched all the episodes we were talking about,
- 32:33it felt difficult to follow. So I couldn't imagine just being
- 32:36somebody who did not have the luxury of seeing the episodes of
- 32:39the shows we were talking. About it did feel like an issue
- 32:42of quantity over quality because we were bouncing around to so
- 32:46many things. And I think Captain Planet and
- 32:49maybe even Sonic were so good that they deserved maybe their
- 32:52own episodes, but just had to kind of cram that into a couple
- 32:56minutes. But echoing what Chan said
- 32:58earlier, Kais aggressive keystrokes as well as Kai
- 33:02getting unhinged when it came to talking about the commercials at
- 33:06the end, those were the highlights for me.
- 33:08I agree. And that brings us to our most
- 33:10recent episode and that is Ewoks.
- 33:14I know that everyone hated these movies, but they made for a
- 33:20great episode. I had a lot of fun.
- 33:22Yes, the Ewoks episode. It was so perfect for making fun
- 33:26of these movies that the episode just pretty much wrote itself.
- 33:30Yeah. And we were able to follow along
- 33:32with the movie, but because the movie's so outrageous and funny,
- 33:35it's asking to be made fun of. I had a little bit less of an
- 33:38enjoyable time just because I was haunted by my second movie
- 33:42experience. Never again.
- 33:44Watch a second movie again. I'm not doing this podcast
- 33:48anymore. We only watch sequels.
- 33:50I can't do it. Yeah, ask me to watch just the
- 33:54second one. I'm fine.
- 33:56I'll do first and third, the first and third.
- 33:59I don't know if this stuff is going to make it into the cut of
- 34:01this episode, but I did research into that.
- 34:04You walks after that you walk episode stuff I should have done
- 34:08beforehand. It sounds like George Lucas
- 34:12wrote the movies because he had a new daughter and he was using
- 34:17his imagination and telling stories that he thought would be
- 34:21good stories for her that. Fence.
- 34:23You were wrong, George. I laughed you out of the writing
- 34:27room. Yeah.
- 34:28I did do that. I enjoyed the idea of Wicked
- 34:31being a serial killer that Syndal later learns about.
- 34:36It's amazing. Chance I really liked how when
- 34:39we were talking about the giant, you were getting really hyped up
- 34:42about the idea that this giant might have really big
- 34:45architecture and then you got really sad and it was just a
- 34:48dining room table I'm. Still sad about that.
- 34:52I really like good world building my.
- 34:54Only question for you is what did you expect from Ewoks
- 34:58caravan Courage? I don't know.
- 35:01I keep getting my hopes up and keep realizing that's a bad
- 35:04idea, yeah. You shouldn't have hopes and
- 35:07dreams. Here Jazz.
- 35:09This podcast is filled with misery.
- 35:13Yeah. Kylin, are you OK?
- 35:15You need to take a break. I got called out for calling of
- 35:19Bob Marley. Yeah, I need a break.
- 35:22We'll give you 5 minutes talking about things that were different
- 35:27in season 4. This is the first season where I
- 35:30watched it with none of you. The only thing I watched with
- 35:34you was the Saturday morning cartoons for the 50th episode
- 35:38Chance. And I didn't watch together
- 35:40once. Oh wow.
- 35:41So that means I can no longer keep tabs on Sleepy Sleepy
- 35:46Chance. We don't actually know if he's
- 35:50watched any of these movies or if he's just going off AI
- 35:54summaries. My wife told me recently she got
- 35:57a call from John asking if I've been sleeping through a movie.
- 36:04I was doing a little bit of reconnaissance for this episode.
- 36:08And what did you find, John? Your wife is willing to lie for
- 36:12you. Oh my God, but.
- 36:14The thing that I was expecting you to say there was my wife
- 36:18says I'm very good at staying awake in movies, but you're
- 36:22actually saying that so. That's.
- 36:24Because every single episode, at a certain point, you begin to
- 36:29lose it, lose consciousness, yeah.
- 36:33Sure. Well, we're razzing on chance.
- 36:37I already took some time to embarrass Kai this episode about
- 36:40his scoring, so we need to talk a little bit about chances,
- 36:43scores. Oh.
- 36:45Goody. Just like previous year's
- 36:47chance, I'm breaking it down as to what you gave a 0123 or 42,
- 36:54so here goes. You gave 10 this year to Spy.
- 36:58Hard no notice. That movie sucks.
- 37:02I love it, I love it. No, you don't.
- 37:05Not the movie. You're suffering.
- 37:08Bulk of the movies landed in one Free Willy, 2 Dino Riders, Land
- 37:15Before Time, 5 Elmo and Grouchland and the Ewoks.
- 37:20I do think some of those things suck more than others, but none
- 37:24of them as bad as Spyhard so no notes.
- 37:27You gave 2 twos this year, 1 to Lunatics and the other two The
- 37:34Chipmunk Adventure. I think that that's fair.
- 37:37Those are better than the movies that you gave ones to.
- 37:40Thank you for threes. You gave 2 as well, one to
- 37:45Witches and one to Miracle on 34th St., which both queer
- 37:50holiday movies and so it makes sense that they are threes.
- 37:53You gave one for this season. Here comes the other foot.
- 37:58Is it small soldiers? It's small soldiers.
- 38:01Care to explain? I think I gave a pretty
- 38:04apartment description. I have a lot of buddies of mine
- 38:07who really love Hell Divers. Again, I don't think it's for
- 38:11everyone. You could have a really fun time
- 38:13with small soldiers. So it's a great experience, not
- 38:16a good. Experience.
- 38:17I don't regret my decision to put that as a four, not agree
- 38:20with it, but that is my decision.
- 38:22It's better than some of us. Some of us cannot agree with our
- 38:25past selves and our ranking systems.
- 38:27Some of us are the ghosts of Christmas.
- 38:29Bob Marley. Tim putting people on the spot.
- 38:34Do you remember offhand the three movies or TV shows you'd
- 38:38rewatch from this season? I definitely said I would
- 38:41rewatch Chipmunk Adventure. Accurate.
- 38:44I said that I would probably end up watching some Dino riders in
- 38:48the future. Correct.
- 38:50And you've got one more. It would either be Miracle on
- 38:5334th or Small Soldiers is probably small soldiers.
- 38:56It was small soldiers, so maybe that's a four in your books too.
- 39:01Nope. Definitely not.
- 39:03Did you have some other notes on things that were different this
- 39:05year, John? I have some notes on some mind
- 39:09blowing moments. Okay, I've got mind blowing
- 39:14moment. Bing Bing, Bing, Bing, Bing. #5.
- 39:19Yeah, how many are there? John Kyle will do the countdown.
- 39:21No chance is already doing it. Number one.
- 39:24What are those? Watch.
- 39:25Watch Mojo Welcome to watch Mojos John's most mind blowing
- 39:30moments. OK, sorry chance, go ahead.
- 39:31Start with #3 #3 these are similarities between Beast Wars
- 39:39and Dino Riders. Oh, there's so many.
- 39:41Like what? They are the same show.
- 39:44I said that in the episode. I've always liked Beast Wars but
- 39:48by default have to think less of it after seeing Dino Riders
- 39:51because so much is pulled from that.
- 39:54OK, I'm ready for the next one. #2.
- 39:58I discovered that Kylan has never seen the original land
- 40:02before time. Yes.
- 40:03We. Know you introduced him.
- 40:04To it. We'll be watching it in the next
- 40:0610. Yeah, something actually, that
- 40:10is another TikTok chance, one of my favorite lines when you say
- 40:13that you'll have a kid in Grade 5, and I say actually they'll
- 40:17be. Too old for it.
- 40:18They'll be like 30. And chance, the last one, number
- 40:23one, they feel like you have to say #1.
- 40:25The one you've been waiting for or something like that.
- 40:28And now the one you've been waiting for.
- 40:30Like and subscribe if you agree #1.
- 40:34That all four live action chipmunk films Rotten Tomato
- 40:39scores add up to 75%, which is the score the animated movie.
- 40:45That was amazing. Oh, that's so good.
- 40:47And. I just love that we realized
- 40:50that all together at the same time.
- 40:53What a great moment. That's going to be a tik.
- 40:56T.O.K Something else that was different this year is we didn't
- 41:00have an episode meant that was John, you're in a thunderstorm
- 41:06again. Are you putting a wind
- 41:08elemental? Chance that's an eagle.
- 41:11I'll have you now. He's dressed up as an orca.
- 41:14Michael Jackson. In jail.
- 41:18Now I reference the static and the noise.
- 41:21I might have to keep it in the podcast.
- 41:24That's unfortunate you. Just have to.
- 41:26Keep this done. You should know better than
- 41:27that. Normally in our podcast each
- 41:31season there's an episode chosen specifically to grief chance,
- 41:36and we didn't do that this year. So I don't know, do we do all
- 41:43descendants next season is? Do we just rewatch the first one
- 41:47over and over again? Put him in a room with it and
- 41:49just leave him there. Emma says he didn't fall asleep.
- 41:52Oh. That's good to know.
- 41:54Tim, I did want to get an update on the Descendants podcast
- 41:58episode viewership. Are we moving towards our goal?
- 42:01I haven't been keeping track of it.
- 42:03I mean, we're always moving towards it.
- 42:05But something that Chance would be very happy to hear is the Tik
- 42:10Toks that have taken off the most by a long shot.
- 42:14Are all the descendants Tik Toks?
- 42:15Those are huge, and I actually see an uptick in our episode
- 42:22viewership when a descendant's TikTok comes out.
- 42:26Are you saying land before time isn't relating with tik tokers
- 42:29as well? You know what John, you will be
- 42:32happy to hear that Land before time Tik toks get the second
- 42:36most attention. Oh baby chance.
- 42:40I got a bit of a hashtag humble brag over here.
- 42:44I know how Descendants 5 ends. No fire.
- 42:50I know someone who was in the final scenes.
- 42:53Somebody's going to get assassinated by Mickey Mouse now
- 42:57Dad can't keep his mouth shut. Tim, just circling back for a
- 43:00moment. When it comes to callbacks at
- 43:02the end of our episodes, some have really just held on.
- 43:06We've got a couple new introductions this season, but I
- 43:09did count how many times each of them were said.
- 43:12And when it comes to callbacks from previous seasons, there was
- 43:163 callbacks that were mentioned 10 different times.
- 43:19We've got lookout for weirdos, praise Beethoven, and don't
- 43:23forget to breathe in and out at 7 times.
- 43:26We've got adventure, Jamie, Adventure.
- 43:29The new ones that really got some repetition were Have You
- 43:34seen my childhood five times? But farm?
- 43:37Oh no, just once more, is Grandma Grandma.
- 43:40Well, it depends on how many times Chad said.
- 43:43Grandma. Yeah, you said grandma.
- 43:46Lot of signs that's. Probably.
- 43:51More like 1314. And I think you'll wait till I
- 43:54start talking before he'll say it again.
- 43:58OK, I'm going to take the risk constraint.
- 44:01Are you planning on doing? That I think it's my favorite
- 44:04reoccurring joke. But we did take Lookout for
- 44:09Weirdos and put a whole bunch of spins on it this year, like
- 44:12Lookout for Weirdos Who and then fill in the blank that had
- 44:16something to do with the movie we watched.
- 44:18Yeah, there's a couple breakouts this year. 2 tickets to Elmo
- 44:21please. OK, well I guess closing, if
- 44:30someone came up to you 4 years ago and said hey, I want to do 4
- 44:37years of a podcast together. If you had a time machine and
- 44:42you could go back and warn yourself that this is what it
- 44:45was going to be like, what would you say to the version of you
- 44:49that's trying to decide? Keep in mind Kyland and Chance
- 44:53were minors so I don't know how much opportunity they had to say
- 44:56no at that time. As I could.
- 44:57Imagine I would go back in time and be like, hey, you're going
- 45:01to be a part of a podcast. And they'd be like, what does my
- 45:03son look like? You want to marry my wife?
- 45:06I'm like, sorry, it's only podcast related.
- 45:09I don't know how else to explain this.
- 45:11It's a very specific kind of time machine.
- 45:14Hold on chance. What you don't realize is the
- 45:16person time traveling is Finn. Finn comes from the far future.
- 45:21What do you think Finn's going to tell you about the podcast?
- 45:25Dad, watch out. World War 3 happens in 2063.
- 45:29It's all floppies. Yeah, it feels so weird,
- 45:33especially something that was meant to just be like a goof.
- 45:36We would do three times. Dad mentioned it, but episode 3
- 45:39was Fast the Furious 35, which is not.
- 45:42Good. How did he get us back after
- 45:44that? I guess we didn't have a choice
- 45:46and John wasn't there. Yeah, by law.
- 45:50Parental guardian and all that stuff.
- 45:53Yeah, yeah, yeah. I would warn myself don't go
- 45:55through with it because I'll say some stupid stuff every once in
- 45:58a while and it'll haunt me for the rest of my life.
- 46:01No one had brought up paperweight in a long time is
- 46:04my. Pasta bear and I don't.
- 46:05Really know what kind of ghosts would haunt you other than Bob
- 46:08Marley? Shut up.
- 46:10I think that's my new favorite thing.
- 46:13It's like the Nermal all over again.
- 46:16Get the NERMAL. I don't think I can get a tattoo
- 46:19ever because of the nermal. For our listeners, we were at a
- 46:22comic convention once and we were walking past this artist's
- 46:27booth who had all kinds of Garfield tattoos.
- 46:31And I pointed out that one of the characters was Nermal.
- 46:35And the artist was like, you know who Nermal is?
- 46:38Like, that's impressive. We're.
- 46:40Joking that nobody would ever get a nermal tattoo.
- 46:43Yeah. And so chance previously.
- 46:45Says to get a normal. Get the nermal and so Kai, who
- 46:51doesn't like to take risks or do things outside of his comfort
- 46:55zone, was like, am I allowed to? And I'm like, is this a serious
- 46:59conversation because I called his mom he.
- 47:03Said. Is it OK if Kai gets a NERMAL
- 47:06session? And she said yeah, if he wants
- 47:10to. So we were all on board with it.
- 47:12And so for a while, anytime we were trying to coach Kai to do
- 47:16something outside of his comfort zone, the chant would be get the
- 47:20nermal. I genuinely don't think I could
- 47:23get a tattoo because nermal would be on my mind 24/7.
- 47:29Or you could just come in and get the NERMAL.
- 47:30Yeah, get the Nermal tattoo, get it out of the way, and then you
- 47:33can get whatever tattoo and I get.
- 47:35It get the nermal. Tattoo shop right on your
- 47:37forehead. It would be like one of those
- 47:39dragon tattoos in the middle of your back.
- 47:41That's like a big thing that's supposed to be a bragging.
- 47:43Dragon with a nermal head, is that what you say?
- 47:47You want normal reaching around you, so like arm and the rest of
- 47:52them on your back. Is he hugging me?
- 47:56I guarantee. You would be so memorable to
- 47:59that tattoo artist. Hey, can I get a full body
- 48:03tattoo? Oh cool.
- 48:04What do you want to you know, the Gray cat from Garfield?
- 48:08I mean, it's still better than the John Arbuckle.
- 48:11I think that would be the worst tattoo.
- 48:15OK, but John Arbuckle. No, I think John Arbuckle's in
- 48:18the social strata at least. If you have a small I.
- 48:22Think people would assume you have a Gray Garfield fanfic
- 48:26character on you like an OC. All our fans now are shipping
- 48:29Kai and Nirmal. No, you brought it up the.
- 48:34Shipping. Yeah, when can I leave the?
- 48:39Podcast. You had mentioned prior that
- 48:44you've got a ton of options for T-shirts.
- 48:47I was wondering, did you want to workshop any of those with us
- 48:50live here? Like, tell you what I have in my
- 48:53notes and see if any of them should be made into a shirt.
- 48:57Yeah, there's a long list here in the.
- 49:00Land before a time episode there was that one quote at some point
- 49:04someone says. But of course there are no butt
- 49:07braids and. That's the whole thing.
- 49:12Okay, go on. Well, that didn't make the list,
- 49:15shockingly. Okay, I've got 1 here from
- 49:20Chance in season 1. It says if a potato was put to
- 49:25your head, I don't know what kind of shirt that would be, but
- 49:28I just, it's really funny. Some of us are allergic to
- 49:32potatoes. That's yeah, that's a.
- 49:34Real Here's another quote from Season 1 Learning English so you
- 49:39can make Clint Eastwood impressions in front of a forest
- 49:42of eyeballs. What episode was that from?
- 49:46It's room quest for Camelot. It does.
- 49:51The stupid chicken learns English so that he can make
- 49:55Clint Eastwood impressions, and the only one there to hear it
- 50:00are forest eyeballs. Still doesn't make sense.
- 50:04I've got 1 here, a scavenger hunt in a manure pile.
- 50:09Oh yeah, that's. It that's my kind of joke that
- 50:11like metaphorical for bullying nostalgia.
- 50:14This is a really good one. I tried to make a shirt out of
- 50:18it but it just didn't come together so this is a spoiler.
- 50:21This is a shirt that could actually happen.
- 50:24It says don't step in the dark water.
- 50:26My parents said land before time 5 is down there.
- 50:30I want that. John, you would actually wear
- 50:33it, yes, as opposed to that. I make heavy.
- 50:38Yeah, that's it. I'm fearless.
- 50:40I make heavy eggnog jokes. I don't know what that means.
- 50:46I've got 1 here when you're trying to eat an egg and you
- 50:48just can't get your break. Oh, it's almost a fun.
- 50:52And so for you, Tim, it's like how do you find the right image
- 50:56that goes? With it, yeah, yeah, there's a
- 50:57couple good ones here. Like the text is also a big
- 51:00issue like the don't go into the dark water land before time is
- 51:04down there. That's a really.
- 51:05Long quote. To just have some.
- 51:07Very quickly, yeah. Like, here's some really good
- 51:10ones, but none of them have really materialized into shirts.
- 51:13Not my Oredon. I sold grandma and set ray guns
- 51:19to dentures. I feel like set ray guns to
- 51:23dentures, that's totally doable. What would you do as the image?
- 51:26John, I think I had those wind up teeth.
- 51:29We should just take an old 50s comic panel of adventures of
- 51:33space, then replace the text with set lasers to dentures.
- 51:37All right. John kind of hinted at it the
- 51:40other day. I didn't want to have the
- 51:42conversation until I had asked, Are we coming back for Season 5?
- 51:46It's. A good question.
- 51:48I still. Haven't done Speed racer.
- 51:51OK, so. You're going to come back.
- 51:53Until we do Speed Racer, no. Yeah, once we do Speed Racer,
- 51:59I'm out of here. We have to set up a.
- 52:00Contract for the next season. Next season must have clutch
- 52:05power. What you're saying is you want
- 52:07to put it up for another vote? No, I said.
- 52:10Must. So what I was thinking is we put
- 52:14the three losers from last season into this season and we
- 52:17do another voted episode and whichever one wins gets a spot
- 52:22in this season and the rest get pushed to next season.
- 52:25No, that's awful. Scared of losing?
- 52:29Spy heart again. Revenge of the Bots.
- 52:36Tim, I feel like you were going to be in a Hallmark movie coming
- 52:40up here sometime soon, so hoping we could watch that.
- 52:42Whatever. Happened.
- 52:43To that oh, Chelsea is in town next month and she said we're
- 52:48hanging out with Mel, so I can ask Mel to her face, I guess.
- 52:52Her. Oh.
- 52:53If you need references, just put us on the phone.
- 52:56Yeah, I think he's pretty cool. Elbow, please.
- 53:03You know, every season we've been throwing in like gimmick
- 53:06episode. And so I have a couple of ideas.
- 53:09They're not all equally good, but I had one idea where we
- 53:13somehow include the audience like Elmo does in his movie or
- 53:19like Dora the Explorer does. But obviously we're not going to
- 53:23be doing it live, so you don't actually have an audience.
- 53:26But we can just imagine that when Tim uploads the podcast a
- 53:30month later, people will be blowing raspberries in their car
- 53:33for something happening in the episode.
- 53:37John, I want you to take that silence very personally.
- 53:42That was a really long silence. We're going to edit that out,
- 53:47are you? I just want you to really sit in
- 53:49that. Wow, yeah, I think our
- 53:52experimental episodes are really fun, but they all suck every
- 53:57time. It's true.
- 53:59Here's my other thought. This one I feel like has more
- 54:02legs. I brought it up before we could
- 54:04do an ashamed nostalgia episode. Yeah, guilty pleasures, right?
- 54:08Yeah, something that we enjoyed watching but would never really
- 54:13want anyone to ever know that we were.
- 54:15Talking Elmo. So I'm kind of nuclear.
- 54:18That guy's already done. I'm just all things in life and
- 54:22I've lost all care about Elmo. What's the other thing?
- 54:25Minecraft YouTube videos we're not.
- 54:27Doing those on this book. Yeah, I know.
- 54:29We. Have just as much chance of
- 54:30doing Skibity toilet. Really.
- 54:33You think? So I'm down.
- 54:34I would totally. It isn't that I got to watch 3
- 54:38hours of Skibity content with chance, I'd do it.
- 54:41I do agree with you John. I think that the embarrassed
- 54:44nostalgia episode. Has tons of merit.
- 54:48I think it's an awesome idea. I just don't love the name in
- 54:51secret. I have been workshopping a
- 54:53better name and I haven't come up with 1 yet, so I think that
- 54:56we need to massage that a little bit.
- 54:58Wasn't there another nostalgia one that we wanted to do but
- 55:01just couldn't get the name right and so we gave up?
- 55:03We tried bully my family podcast.
- 55:07Yeah. That's and we gave up on that
- 55:09because our theme song was so terrible.
- 55:13He was out of key. Jared again is our ad.
- 55:17Sure. I'll put it at the end of this
- 55:19just to remind people why they don't want to listen to our
- 55:22podcast. Keep in mind this is far worse
- 55:26than our regular theme song. What do you mean?
- 55:29Keep in mind they would have had to listen to the normal one at
- 55:31the start of this. And floppy explosion noise I'm.
- 55:36Just saying that I feel good about the original and the
- 55:39repressed, but this third one's pretend that we didn't make it.
- 55:43Yeah, it was one of those things where the other ones came
- 55:46together so easily. We threw together the first song
- 55:51in less than an hour. We came back and we did the
- 55:54Repressed Nostalgia 1, and it was just super easy.
- 55:57You just switched from a major key to a minor key and we
- 56:01knocked it out. Then this one went so poorly
- 56:04that we've never tried again. Well, the gimmick was that you
- 56:08just made it sound bad, so I see why.
- 56:12Yeah, well, John said bullying doesn't feel good, so the song
- 56:16shouldn't be good either. Bullying our listener is fine.
- 56:20Jazz. OK, well, am I cueing that song
- 56:24now? Are we heading out?
- 56:26See you guys next year. Don't forget to breathe in and.
- 56:29Out. Ramon.
- 56:33Again. Ramon.
- 56:36Still looking for her? Still looking for her.
- 56:42All right, look out for weirdos. John, do you have anything?
- 56:46Nope, Nope. Nothing really.
- 56:49Mr. Michael Jackson. Yeah, he's haunted to his core.
- 56:52He's already said two tickets to Elmo please in his real life so.
- 57:02Wishing we had our favourites to watch, instead we're forced to
- 57:07watch trash.
