- 0:26Speaker 4: What's up, America. I am Rich Valdes Valdez with ans
- 0:30Speaker 4: at Rich Valdez on all of the social media. You're
- 0:32Speaker 4: liberty loving Latino Amigo, seventeen blocks from Madison Square Garden
- 0:37Speaker 4: in New York City. Blessed to be here with you
- 0:40Speaker 4: each and every evening. Welcome to the program, and we're
- 0:43Speaker 4: going to get into all sorts of stuff right now
- 0:45Speaker 4: because wow, today Monday, man, it was crazy. The weekend
- 0:49Speaker 4: was lit and not in a good way. Our voice line,
- 0:51Speaker 4: by the way, eight seven seven Valdez one. If you
- 0:53Speaker 4: want to chime in or leave us a message, feel free.
- 0:55Speaker 4: And I want to start with the heinous attack on
- 0:58Speaker 4: Hanukkah over the weekend. Like I said, it's Monday. Friday
- 1:01Speaker 4: was slow, but today's moving fast, folks. My heart is
- 1:06Speaker 4: broken for our Jewish brothers and sisters. Down in Sydney, Australia.
- 1:09Speaker 4: Father and son duo radicalized ISIS inspired terrorists opening fire
- 1:14Speaker 4: on a beautiful Hanukkah by the Sea celebration at Bandai Beach.
- 1:18Speaker 4: Fifteen innocent people were murdered, Families lighting Manora's kids, enjoying
- 1:22Speaker 4: the festival of Lights, and these cowards turn it into
- 1:25Speaker 4: a bloodbath. Anti Semitic terrorism, plain and simple, the worst
- 1:29Speaker 4: attack on Jews in Australia ever. You know, As an
- 1:35Speaker 4: American of Puerto Rican heritage, coming from Brooklyn, I was
- 1:40Speaker 4: raised on family and faith and fighting for what's right. Maam, wella,
- 1:44Speaker 4: my grandma used to pray the rosary and pray to
- 1:47Speaker 4: a little statue. She had called it in Nina de
- 1:51Speaker 4: Prague right, and it was another one Labdakri. I don't
- 1:55Speaker 4: know what these were all called in English, otherwise I
- 1:57Speaker 4: would tell you, and she'd be right to be praying
- 2:01Speaker 4: to them right about now. This isn't just senseless violence.
- 2:04Speaker 4: This is evil targeting Jews because they're Jews. In twenty
- 2:08Speaker 4: twenty five, while the world still pretends that October seventh
- 2:12Speaker 4: didn't happen, and anti Semitism is just a surging coincidence,
- 2:19Speaker 4: it's not. And listen to this. Australian leaders are now
- 2:23Speaker 4: getting ready to start talking about tightening gun laws, as
- 2:27Speaker 4: if they needed to have stricter gun laws for what,
- 2:31Speaker 4: like the bad guys follow the gun laws. Wow, the
- 2:34Speaker 4: whole thing is just crazy. But this is what they
- 2:36Speaker 4: do each and every time, right, Whenever the bad guys
- 2:39Speaker 4: do something like this, they blame the gun instead of
- 2:41Speaker 4: the bad guy. Criminals and terrorists always follow laws, right
- 2:45Speaker 4: of course, sarcasm alert. Listen, you guys are my radio
- 2:49Speaker 4: Familia and miamigos Valdez VIPs. I love you people, but
- 2:54Speaker 4: that's like blaming the aro condules for making you gain
- 2:59Speaker 4: weight instead of you admitting that ate the whole pot. Right, Listen,
- 3:03Speaker 4: if you eat all the rice and chickpeas, that's on you,
- 3:05Speaker 4: it's not on the rice and chickpeas, and it's definitely
- 3:07Speaker 4: not on the pot. Now. Critics of this type of
- 3:13Speaker 4: policy of the lefts insanity. They're right to criticize. I
- 3:19Speaker 4: think you know, we've got years and years and years
- 3:22Speaker 4: of appeasing extremists. Bea whatever. Let's say, let's see be
- 3:27Speaker 4: at the border policy being soft on that being a
- 3:32Speaker 4: pro crime, progressive, that's coddling the criminals, like we see
- 3:36Speaker 4: in many of our big cities, letting the radicals slip through.
- 3:40Speaker 4: The Left seems to have an obsession with tolerance. They've
- 3:44Speaker 4: never met a terrorist, a criminal, any type of devian
- 3:49Speaker 4: that they didn't love. It's crazy. So now the intolerant right,
- 3:56Speaker 4: because they love tolerance, the intolerant is now fueling global hate,
- 4:01Speaker 4: plain and simple. The Israeli intelligence people have warned about
- 4:06Speaker 4: Iranian linked networks months ago. They were ignored, of course.
- 4:10Speaker 4: And here in America, President Trump lit the minora at
- 4:13Speaker 4: the White House and calling out the anti Semitism that's
- 4:19Speaker 4: been creeping into Congress. And all I could say is
- 4:23Speaker 4: this is a scary time to be a Jew, right
- 4:27Speaker 4: And the reality is they're going after the Jews because
- 4:29Speaker 4: they're small.
- 4:30Speaker 5: Right.
- 4:30Speaker 4: When it ran attacks the Jews, what do they say.
- 4:33Speaker 4: They say that they are the little Satan and that
- 4:37Speaker 4: the big Satan is the United States. So it's only
- 4:40Speaker 4: a matter of time before they come after us, and
- 4:42Speaker 4: they will, I tell you, interesting times, really is. I mean,
- 4:48Speaker 4: the conflict has always existed, but it seems to be exacerbated.
- 4:53Speaker 4: Excuse me anyway, I want to get into you know,
- 4:59Speaker 4: besides the squad and their pals are saying a few
- 5:03Speaker 4: other things. But before I get into the clips, I
- 5:06Speaker 4: want to thank God for our heroes, right, because it
- 5:09Speaker 4: was a hero, a bystander that tackled one of the
- 5:11Speaker 4: gunmen that was shooting at these people in Bondai Beach
- 5:14Speaker 4: in Sydney, Australia. I think we need more of that spirit,
- 5:18Speaker 4: willing to give of yourself.
- 5:19Speaker 6: Right.
- 5:19Speaker 4: The Bible says no greater love can a man show
- 5:22Speaker 4: than laying his life down for a friend. I believe that,
- 5:28Speaker 4: and we need more of these everyday people, everyday heroes
- 5:31Speaker 4: standing up, not waiting for the government to come and
- 5:33Speaker 4: save the day, because they're not going to come and
- 5:35Speaker 4: save the day anyway. Let's move on shifting gears on
- 5:38Speaker 4: the home front. President Trump just designated fentanyl a weapon
- 5:42Speaker 4: of mass destruction. But before I get into the clip
- 5:46Speaker 4: of President Trump and the fentanel and the mass destruction
- 5:48Speaker 4: and all that, I want you to hear something that
- 5:51Speaker 4: President Reagan said about the Jewish people. I think it's
- 5:56Speaker 4: appropriate for such a time.
- 5:57Speaker 7: Hanaka is symbolic of the Jewish struggle to resist submission
- 6:01Speaker 7: to tyranny and to sustain its spiritual heritage. No people
- 6:07Speaker 7: have fought longer, struggled harder, or sacrificed more to survive,
- 6:12Speaker 7: to grow, and to live in freedom than the people
- 6:16Speaker 7: of Israel. We appeal to people everywhere to open their
- 6:18Speaker 7: hearts and to raise their voices in support of our
- 6:22Speaker 7: brothers and sisters. Together, let us pray that the warm
- 6:27Speaker 7: lights of Hanikah will spread the spirit of freedom and
- 6:31Speaker 7: reach comfort and sustain every person who is suffering.
- 6:35Speaker 4: Tonight, that's President Ronald Reagan. He says, no people have
- 6:39Speaker 4: suffered more than the Jewish people, and he prays for
- 6:43Speaker 4: their comfort, and I join him. While he's nearly departed,
- 6:46Speaker 4: President Reagan, the sentiment lives on. Absolutely, we have to
- 6:52Speaker 4: pray for the Jews. Sadly, there's been an increase, I'm
- 6:57Speaker 4: going to say, or an unmasking one or the other
- 7:00Speaker 4: of people that love to hate the Jews. They love it.
- 7:04Speaker 4: They go out of their way to make jokes, they
- 7:06Speaker 4: go out of their way to just be hateful. And
- 7:14Speaker 4: this is problematic because it's counterintuitive to Christianity. If that's
- 7:21Speaker 4: your worldview. If it's not, then it's not. But that
- 7:25Speaker 4: is mine, and I try to make it more of
- 7:28Speaker 4: my world view each day, and the last thing I
- 7:31Speaker 4: want to do is hate any people group right the
- 7:34Speaker 4: same way when I see something that think is over
- 7:36Speaker 4: the top. With a critique on radical Muslims, I think
- 7:40Speaker 4: you should be able to criticize radical Muslims all you want.
- 7:44Speaker 4: But I think sometimes people don't clarify between radical Muslims
- 7:48Speaker 4: and regular Muslims Muslims, and they think that every last
- 7:51Speaker 4: Muslim is a terrorist, that when push comes to shove,
- 7:54Speaker 4: they're going to use takia, this ability to lie in
- 7:57Speaker 4: the name of their faith, and that it's not the
- 8:00Speaker 4: religion of peace but a religion of war. And while
- 8:03Speaker 4: the theological roots of this may be true in how
- 8:06Speaker 4: Muhammad started this religion, far be it from me to
- 8:10Speaker 4: judge each and every person that claims to be inadherent
- 8:14Speaker 4: why And I'll tell you why, because I can't even
- 8:17Speaker 4: do that with Christianity. In Christianity, there's always going to
- 8:22Speaker 4: be people that missed the mark and hopefully ask for
- 8:26Speaker 4: forgiveness and try better in Jesus' name. However, maybe they don't,
- 8:29Speaker 4: maybe they get stuck in sin. The Bible's clear on
- 8:32Speaker 4: what we do with people like that if they're in
- 8:35Speaker 4: your church and you know you're part of your fellowship.
- 8:38Speaker 4: I guess eventually, after a good counsel, you kind of
- 8:40Speaker 4: disassociate yourselves the words of Christ. The read letter here
- 8:44Speaker 4: is forgive seven times seventy rits. I don't want to preach,
- 8:48Speaker 4: but what I'm trying to say is that's really our call.
- 8:53Speaker 4: Excommunication may be something that can be a thing, but
- 8:58Speaker 4: the main thing we're supposed to do is love. Love
- 9:01Speaker 4: conquers all it right, it's the It covers a multitude
- 9:05Speaker 4: of sin. Anyway, I bring that up because they needed
- 9:09Speaker 4: more love in Sydney, Australia. Sadly this attack brutal as
- 9:14Speaker 4: it was. I got a clip of somebody who was
- 9:17Speaker 4: there when the shooting happened, eye witness, a guy named Lad.
- 9:21Speaker 4: Listen to this. Vlad is a first responder, all right ahead,
- 9:27Speaker 4: play of tape.
- 9:28Speaker 7: Bludge all over his.
- 9:32Speaker 8: So I was with my son eight years old. I
- 9:36Speaker 8: pushed him to the ground and I fell on top
- 9:37Speaker 8: of him. And then there's another security you got Fromsajsa
- 9:43Speaker 8: was hitting the shoulder and fell on top of me.
- 9:47Speaker 8: The shooting was going on five minutes non stop.
- 9:51Speaker 2: How many gunshots.
- 9:52Speaker 4: Do you think will fir it in that fight?
- 9:54Speaker 8: Probably fifty sixty gunshots.
- 9:56Speaker 4: It was non stop, and the whole time you were
- 9:58Speaker 4: lying on top of your eight year son.
- 10:01Speaker 8: And then I was trying to give it first day
- 10:04Speaker 8: to the guy because he was bleeding profusely, sir.
- 10:06Speaker 4: Which guy?
- 10:06Speaker 2: A guy?
- 10:06Speaker 9: Next year?
- 10:07Speaker 8: Security guy that was shot? Yes, And then once the
- 10:11Speaker 8: shooting stop, I went out tried to help people. But
- 10:14Speaker 8: I'll tell you one thing I got. The scandal's there,
- 10:17Speaker 8: and I'm gonna go home and I'm gonna light them
- 10:19Speaker 8: up because we must light up and keep the show going.
- 10:23Speaker 8: We're not afraid.
- 10:24Speaker 4: And in this video he is lifting up his hand
- 10:27Speaker 4: to show the blood dripping from his hands. Now, I
- 10:31Speaker 4: want to clarify this guy didn't work there. He wasn't
- 10:34Speaker 4: a guard there. He happens to be a guard, had
- 10:37Speaker 4: left work, picked up his kid and went to this
- 10:39Speaker 4: festival and then try to save another guard while he
- 10:42Speaker 4: was there helping his kid out. Crazy story, right, I mean,
- 10:46Speaker 4: doing everything he can to save somebody's life. I can't help,
- 10:49Speaker 4: but A thank people that are heroes like this, and
- 10:51Speaker 4: B think to myself, we have to call out problems
- 10:55Speaker 4: when we see them. My issue is not with Muslims
- 10:58Speaker 4: or Islam per se. My issue is with these radicals.
- 11:03Speaker 4: And I've seen in the past, not very often, but
- 11:06Speaker 4: we've seen radical Christians who will go to abortion clinics
- 11:09Speaker 4: and blow them up. That's his radical I've seen. I
- 11:11Speaker 4: haven't seen them killing people because they won't convert, or
- 11:14Speaker 4: killing people because they think they're infidels. Now, it's true,
- 11:17Speaker 4: if you have a religion that truly calls for the
- 11:20Speaker 4: death of infidels in modern day and modern time, in
- 11:24Speaker 4: modern interpretation, then hereston we got a problem. I even dietho.
- 11:30Speaker 4: But I don't think that the majority of Muslims are
- 11:35Speaker 4: trying to kill me. I don't believe that for a second.
- 11:38Speaker 4: I do think the majority of radicalized Muslims are out
- 11:42Speaker 4: to kill everyone that disagrees with them. This is a
- 11:46Speaker 4: fundamental part of the faith. And not because I'm saying it,
- 11:48Speaker 4: or because I'm some sort of Islamic expert I'm not,
- 11:51Speaker 4: or not because I spoke with doctor Rudy Jasser or
- 11:53Speaker 4: Zudi Jasser excuse me, from the American Islamic Forum for Democracy. No,
- 12:00Speaker 4: but because I'm listening to this man, this man who
- 12:05Speaker 4: has taken to the streets of Sydney, Australia to speak
- 12:09Speaker 4: specifically about this stuff. He's a former Muslim himself. His
- 12:14Speaker 4: name is Armand Navabi, and he's walking through the streets
- 12:18Speaker 4: of La Kemba in Sydney, Australia, asking locals if it's
- 12:22Speaker 4: okay to criticize Islam, and he gets some very interesting responses,
- 12:27Speaker 4: very strong ones. I might add, listen to this, Hey.
- 12:29Speaker 9: At some point there's going to be this is more
- 12:32Speaker 9: goal and every Muslim is goal. You think established Sharia
- 12:34Speaker 9: law on earth, okay, But when there is Sharia law
- 12:37Speaker 9: on earth, then somebody like me should be killed because
- 12:40Speaker 9: I am immortad. It's up to the iman. But un
- 12:44Speaker 9: Islamic law, it says that I should.
- 12:46Speaker 4: Be just clarifying, he says. These words he's saying are
- 12:49Speaker 4: translated on the screen in front of me. He says
- 12:52Speaker 4: that I'm an apostate, right because he left Islam. The
- 12:55Speaker 4: man he's speaking to says kind of like, it's not
- 12:59Speaker 4: up to me, it's up to the council, the Sharia law,
- 13:01Speaker 4: the Islamic council.
- 13:03Speaker 6: He killed.
- 13:04Speaker 9: So you think that's okay in the Sharia law, that's
- 13:06Speaker 9: what I followed. But do you think that's fair for me. Like,
- 13:10Speaker 9: let's say you're right, I'm wrong. Do you think it's
- 13:12Speaker 9: fair to kill me because I got the conclusions right wrong?
- 13:15Speaker 9: If sharia a law states that, then it should be
- 13:17Speaker 9: fair for me. There's always a safe haven for you
- 13:21Speaker 9: under Sharia law.
- 13:22Speaker 4: Hold on, excuse me. So now he's telling him to
- 13:26Speaker 4: his face. He says, listen, if Sharia law says we
- 13:30Speaker 4: got to kill you because you don't want to be
- 13:32Speaker 4: a Muslim anymore, then hey, that's what I signed up for.
- 13:36Speaker 4: I'm good for that. Now. I respect his ability, choice, desire,
- 13:43Speaker 4: whatever word you want to use, to follow Sharia law
- 13:47Speaker 4: to pursue his faith. However, the pursuit of my faith
- 13:52Speaker 4: doesn't get in his way, but the pursuit of his
- 13:56Speaker 4: faith ultimately will kill me as an infidel. Where I'm
- 14:00Speaker 4: going with this, Go ahead, play the tape.
- 14:03Speaker 9: Oh, because you said Sharia law on everywhere on Earth,
- 14:05Speaker 9: so there's not going to be any safe haven for
- 14:07Speaker 9: me if it all earth, if Islam dominates.
- 14:11Speaker 4: If this were a funny meme, this is where you'd
- 14:13Speaker 4: see Chris Tucker going, or yeah, I think it's Chris
- 14:15Speaker 4: Tucker right, Ah, gotcha. You have to see the guy's face.
- 14:19Speaker 4: He's like, Hm, you got a point there. It means
- 14:21Speaker 4: we are going to kill everybody. Hmmm. Doesn't even look
- 14:24Speaker 4: like the guy answering the questions is comfortable with that idea.
- 14:27Speaker 4: Go ahead, all of earth.
- 14:29Speaker 9: That's the plan. And so where I would where would
- 14:32Speaker 9: be very safe haven in Islam? But that would be
- 14:36Speaker 9: by force, then, wouldn't it if if if, if my
- 14:39Speaker 9: only safe haven is by Islam, and if I don't
- 14:41Speaker 9: go back to Islam, punishment is death.
- 14:44Speaker 8: So there's two choices, Slam all death.
- 14:46Speaker 4: There's two choices, Islam or death. Wow, now that this
- 14:51Speaker 4: was an eye opening take right, Islam or death. That's
- 14:56Speaker 4: coming from a man on the street interview of a
- 14:59Speaker 4: guy who was mining his own business. Doesn't look like
- 15:02Speaker 4: a radical crazy person to me, just doing his shopping,
- 15:06Speaker 4: going about his day to day stuff. Stops to do
- 15:07Speaker 4: an interview with a guy with a camera, do a
- 15:09Speaker 4: man on a street interview, and the conclusion that he
- 15:12Speaker 4: comes to is there's two choices, Islam or death. This,
- 15:17Speaker 4: my friends, is something I've never heard posited to me
- 15:22Speaker 4: as often as I hear it now. This is something
- 15:25Speaker 4: in long form discussions with friends of mine from Syria
- 15:29Speaker 4: that are Islamic. I've arrived at that. They've always kind
- 15:32Speaker 4: of downplayed as well, you know what I mean, that's
- 15:34Speaker 4: the old way. We get along with everybody. We're peaceful.
- 15:38Speaker 4: To their credit, I've always gotten along with them, and
- 15:40Speaker 4: they've always been peaceful. But to hear this man say, well,
- 15:43Speaker 4: there's no two ways about it. Just as me as
- 15:45Speaker 4: a Christian, I believe that I am part of a
- 15:47Speaker 4: absolutist faith, one true God, Jesus the Christ, he has
- 15:51Speaker 4: the same right to believe what he believes. Only one
- 15:54Speaker 4: of us can truly be right, but only one of
- 15:56Speaker 4: us wants the other guy dead. I want to see
- 15:58Speaker 4: his soul in heaven living eternally with our Lord. By
- 16:02Speaker 4: the way, Wednesday, we're gonna have Jake Lang joining the show.
- 16:05Speaker 4: You might know Jake Lang. I interviewed him when he
- 16:07Speaker 4: was in jail for January sixth. He's back out. He's
- 16:10Speaker 4: teamed up with Valentina Gomez in Texas doing a march
- 16:13Speaker 4: over there against the what's he's calling the Islamification of
- 16:18Speaker 4: the West. So don't miss that. More to come straight ahead.
- 16:22Speaker 4: Brown University gets shut up Summer's suspecting that it's for
- 16:25Speaker 4: the same reasons. Don't go anywhere.
- 16:27Speaker 1: I'm rich Feldes, this is America, this is America. He's brown,
- 16:36Speaker 1: he's bald, and he's breaking it down.
- 16:39Speaker 4: Oh he's still has some what's his day, rich Felds?
- 16:43Speaker 4: All right, he goes, welcome back, by the way. That
- 16:46Speaker 4: woman that you hear there, that's Cardi B. And we
- 16:49Speaker 4: got a clip of Cardi B that we're gonna play
- 16:51Speaker 4: maybe to tomorrow. But I want to get into that now.
- 16:54Speaker 4: I also want to get into this attack that occurred
- 16:57Speaker 4: in Brown University. This is another why I didn't even
- 17:01Speaker 4: know if people were still in school this late in
- 17:02Speaker 4: the game. But yes, people are still in school taking
- 17:04Speaker 4: finals in their geopolitical course, foreign affairs, etc. Let me
- 17:10Speaker 4: tell you very very very scary time. That's all I
- 17:13Speaker 4: could say. I have a kid in college, actually only
- 17:15Speaker 4: one now. The other one's graduated, and I'm glad that
- 17:18Speaker 4: she's done. I can't wait for my little one to
- 17:20Speaker 4: be done. Because going to college was once a place
- 17:24Speaker 4: for parents to be so joyful to say, oh my gosh,
- 17:28Speaker 4: look at all the great things that have happened. My
- 17:30Speaker 4: kid's doing so good. And now it's kind of like, yeah,
- 17:33Speaker 4: I hope whatever they're studying, pays them enough to pay
- 17:36Speaker 4: all the bill here. And we've gone from that now
- 17:41Speaker 4: to a place where now we're like, oh, I just
- 17:43Speaker 4: hope they don't get hurt. I hope they're not attacked
- 17:45Speaker 4: in a campus brawl or shot at by some lunatic
- 17:49Speaker 4: on a campus. A'lla Charlie Kirk or I'll what's going
- 17:53Speaker 4: on here with this Ella Wood? I mean, just really
- 17:56Speaker 4: really wild, is the best way to put it.
- 18:00Speaker 10: This colonel managed to establish any condition between the suspects
- 18:04Speaker 10: and the university. Why did the suspect talk at the university?
- 18:07Speaker 11: So that's whole part of the investigations that we're conducted.
- 18:09Speaker 11: And again it's complex, and we want to make sure
- 18:11Speaker 11: that once we have at the appropriate time and give
- 18:14Speaker 11: the accurate information, we'll be able to provide that information
- 18:17Speaker 11: for you. And that answer, Gray John.
- 18:18Speaker 12: Colonel, the person of interest is that the same individual
- 18:22Speaker 12: that we saw on the surveillance video released.
- 18:25Speaker 11: So again I'm not going to speculate. I want to
- 18:27Speaker 11: be made sure that if I give you an answer,
- 18:29Speaker 11: is grounded on facts, and so we getting to that point,
- 18:32Speaker 11: but it's going to take time. Detective work is not
- 18:35Speaker 11: something that you can answer or solve within a minute.
- 18:38Speaker 11: It takes time, and we have to make sure that
- 18:40Speaker 11: we have the right evidence in order to prosecute somebody properly.
- 18:42Speaker 4: So in the time since this attack has occurred, we've
- 18:47Speaker 4: literally seen a whole lot of nothing. Now, look, I'm
- 18:50Speaker 4: not here to beat up the Rhode Island Comps. I'm
- 18:53Speaker 4: just saying, not a lot of cameras, not a lot
- 18:55Speaker 4: of anything. Apparently this thing happened. There was some trans
- 18:59Speaker 4: Muslim kid that they said did it. Apparently he didn't
- 19:01Speaker 4: work out. There was another guy, I think, a white guy.
- 19:04Speaker 4: He didn't work out. They have all these people of interest,
- 19:07Speaker 4: but nothing yet. No, maybe that's part of the strategy.
- 19:09Speaker 4: But we live in the microwave society. We live in
- 19:11Speaker 4: the microwave generation. Something happens today. I want to know now.
- 19:15Speaker 4: I want to know asap what's going on. Why don't
- 19:18Speaker 4: we know who this killer is? Right? It took what
- 19:21Speaker 4: three days thirty three hours to get the Charlie Kirk killer.
- 19:24Speaker 4: A whole bunch of people think they made it up.
- 19:26Speaker 4: They don't believe it's that guy because people are dissatisfied
- 19:29Speaker 4: with whatever they get. Honestly, we live in a new
- 19:32Speaker 4: world in a world where people just no longer participate
- 19:36Speaker 4: in the facts or in the truth, because it's hard
- 19:39Speaker 4: to tell what the facts and the truth are. A
- 19:41Speaker 4: friend of mine sent me a video of a woman,
- 19:46Speaker 4: an older woman, cute, older lady, right older, like I
- 19:49Speaker 4: don't know, sixty something, with a little, tiny dog, and
- 19:52Speaker 4: she's in her driveway and the caption on the video
- 19:56Speaker 4: says woman gets caught on cold case kidnapping after twenty
- 20:02Speaker 4: five years. Two cops roll up county sheriffs wearing like
- 20:05Speaker 4: green fatigues and they're like, ma'am, you're so and so.
- 20:08Speaker 4: She's like, yeah, what's going on? She's a very sweet
- 20:10Speaker 4: Edie mcclerk type of person. And they're like, oh, it's
- 20:13Speaker 4: time for you to come with us, ma'am. And she's
- 20:15Speaker 4: all like, what what did I do? What's going on?
- 20:17Speaker 4: Blah blah blah, And they're like, well, the detectives will
- 20:19Speaker 4: be here in a moment. They'll let you know what's
- 20:20Speaker 4: going on. All I could think to myself was who
- 20:23Speaker 4: on the left is going to take this video and
- 20:25Speaker 4: turn it into an anti Ice video saying that those
- 20:29Speaker 4: guys are Ice and now they're arresting American citizens happens
- 20:32Speaker 4: all the time. We see that type of crazy happen
- 20:35Speaker 4: all the time. So I understand where this fatigue comes from,
- 20:38Speaker 4: the fake news fatigue. But at some point we have
- 20:41Speaker 4: to develop our own media literacy and say, hey, look,
- 20:45Speaker 4: I know everything I hear and see isn't real. But
- 20:48Speaker 4: the minute you throw out the baby with the bathwater,
- 20:51Speaker 4: when you say everything I see and hear is fake,
- 20:54Speaker 4: everything that's happening isn't really happening, then we've now abandoned reality.
- 21:01Speaker 4: It's a dystopian way of looking at the world, and
- 21:06Speaker 4: I'm going to say it's there's no end to it.
- 21:08Speaker 4: It's a bottomless pit. I argue this with my brother
- 21:11Speaker 4: all the time, and it always comes down to, all right,
- 21:13Speaker 4: you believe what you want to believe. I believe what
- 21:14Speaker 4: I want to believe. Well, that's always where it started, right.
- 21:16Speaker 4: We all have our right to be entitled to whatever
- 21:19Speaker 4: belief system we want. But it is a nice place
- 21:23Speaker 4: to live in when you could say good morning and
- 21:25Speaker 4: somebody doesn't say, what do you mean morning? How do
- 21:27Speaker 4: you know it's morning? How do you know this is
- 21:28Speaker 4: an illusion? How do you know it's not the cloud ced?
- 21:30Speaker 4: How do you know that that's not the camtrails making
- 21:33Speaker 4: it look like a hologram of the sun when it's
- 21:35Speaker 4: really nighttime. Because aliens are controlling everything, and the aliens
- 21:39Speaker 4: are funded by the Jews. That's the type of crazy
- 21:42Speaker 4: I hear a lot of so a lot of speculation
- 21:44Speaker 4: about President Trump making an announcement on Wednesday night from
- 21:48Speaker 4: the Oval Office, from the White House talking about I'm
- 21:51Speaker 4: going to presume the economy, foreign policy, and domestic policy,
- 21:57Speaker 4: but summer saying this is it. He's going to end
- 22:00Speaker 4: anounced the all the arrests. This is why Dan Bongino's
- 22:02Speaker 4: speculating that he might be stepping down, et cetera, et cetera,
- 22:05Speaker 4: et cetera. We'll know more about that tomorrow and Wednesday.
- 22:09Speaker 4: Bottom line is we have to live and traffic and
- 22:13Speaker 4: deal in the truth. We have to get to a
- 22:16Speaker 4: place where we can agree on what truth is because
- 22:19Speaker 4: we're not there. He used to be just a left
- 22:22Speaker 4: Now it's everybody in the party, outside of the party,
- 22:25Speaker 4: in the movement, outside of the movement. You've got people
- 22:28Speaker 4: that in one breath will tell you I think Hillary
- 22:31Speaker 4: Clinton was executed for her crimes along with John McCain,
- 22:34Speaker 4: who they call no name, along with George H. W. Bush,
- 22:39Speaker 4: who they call Timberwolf, along with the host of other people.
- 22:42Speaker 4: They were all executed at Guantanamo Camp X Ray gitm
- 22:47Speaker 4: Okay super So now we're doing all of that, it's
- 22:50Speaker 4: all done with a wink and a nod in order
- 22:53Speaker 4: to drain the swamp and eradicate the deep state. Yet
- 22:56Speaker 4: despite all that being done, you've got President Trump continually
- 22:59Speaker 4: in the the bullseye. Literally, like on the thirteenth of
- 23:03Speaker 4: July two years ago, or I should say last year.
- 23:06Speaker 4: It's not twenty six. Just yet they still try to
- 23:08Speaker 4: put him in jail. They're still trying to do it.
- 23:10Speaker 4: They're still going to try and I peach him in
- 23:11Speaker 4: a couple of months if they can get their way
- 23:13Speaker 4: in the next eleven months. So I don't know if
- 23:16Speaker 4: I buy that that story. I don't think I'm buying it.
- 23:19Speaker 4: Are you Let me know what you think. Leave a
- 23:21Speaker 4: comment on the social media at rich Valdez and if
- 23:24Speaker 4: you want to leave a message or try and call
- 23:25Speaker 4: us if we're doing the show live when you call,
- 23:28Speaker 4: happy to put your call through eight three three four
- 23:31Speaker 4: eight two five three three seven eight three three four Valdez.
- 23:34Speaker 4: Matter of fact, we're gonna do some of those calls
- 23:36Speaker 4: straight ahead. Don't go anywhere.
- 23:38Speaker 1: This is America. This is America.
- 23:47Speaker 3: Barah in glaz or primal nomrodos Bara, Rich valdez E
- 23:53Speaker 3: s nos America.
- 23:55Speaker 4: Awara all right, and he goes, welcome back, Rich Valdesk
- 24:00Speaker 4: in your company. And I want to test out our
- 24:03Speaker 4: new phone line eight seven seven Valdesk. That's valdesta an
- 24:07Speaker 4: as the number one, eight seven seven Valdesk one. And
- 24:11Speaker 4: we're going to do that right now. If you want
- 24:13Speaker 4: to join the program, go right ahead. If you don't
- 24:16Speaker 4: get through, leave a message. And I want to start
- 24:19Speaker 4: off with our homegirl from Jersey. She's called the show before.
- 24:23Speaker 4: She is a regular and we love to hear from her.
- 24:25Speaker 4: Melissa from West New York, New Jersey in the building,
- 24:28Speaker 4: go right.
- 24:28Speaker 13: Ahead, Hey, how are you? How you doing? I am wonderful,
- 24:32Speaker 13: Thank you, wonderful, wonderful, great show. I wanted to actually
- 24:36Speaker 13: discuss the emotional support animal being brought to the nightclub
- 24:40Speaker 13: in Miami.
- 24:41Speaker 4: Oh, isn't that a crazy story? This person? You know,
- 24:46Speaker 4: not only did they bring the animal, but they snuck
- 24:48Speaker 4: the animal in to the nightclub and when they were
- 24:52Speaker 4: getting searched. The bouncer decided to say, hey, look, you
- 24:55Speaker 4: can't really have that here, and the gators snapped at
- 24:58Speaker 4: the bouncer. That's how this person go got caught.
- 25:02Speaker 13: Yeah, that was kind of my whole point, Like, you know,
- 25:04Speaker 13: I think they're taking this emotional support thing a little
- 25:06Speaker 13: too far.
- 25:07Speaker 6: Yeah you think, you know?
- 25:09Speaker 13: And furthermore, how is this good for the animal?
- 25:11Speaker 6: Honestly?
- 25:12Speaker 13: Like there' supposed be an emotional support animal and you know,
- 25:15Speaker 13: of course, of course the alligator reacted the way that
- 25:18Speaker 13: it did. You know, it knows it's being snuck in.
- 25:20Speaker 13: But furthermore, a nightclub, you know, think about the that
- 25:24Speaker 13: could have happened with that it's nighttime, and what emotional
- 25:27Speaker 13: support did exactly did they think this guy needed at
- 25:29Speaker 13: night in lub right, where's the where's the sport here?
- 25:33Speaker 4: Yeah? Well, I think you know, people who use these
- 25:36Speaker 4: emotional support animals, I find what they typically are doing
- 25:40Speaker 4: is they're lonely, right, and because they're lonely, they've decided
- 25:44Speaker 4: to say, you know what, I'm gonna bring this animal,
- 25:46Speaker 4: whether it's a dog or whatever animal they have, and
- 25:51Speaker 4: it makes them feel like I can conquer the world.
- 25:54Speaker 4: That's otherwise scary to me, and I understand the purpose
- 25:57Speaker 4: behind it, I don't know if I agree with it.
- 25:58Speaker 4: I've seen a lot of people bringing pets into places
- 26:01Speaker 4: we've never seen pets before, like grocery stores, on flights
- 26:05Speaker 4: with little you know, badges on their little harness saying
- 26:08Speaker 4: emotional support animal listen, you know, to each their own.
- 26:12Speaker 4: But it's just very new. I mean, being a kid
- 26:15Speaker 4: from the late seventies, I can't think of ever going
- 26:18Speaker 4: to the mall and seeing somebody walking around with a
- 26:20Speaker 4: dog on a leash or a cat on a leash
- 26:22Speaker 4: or something like that. But yet today there's people even
- 26:25Speaker 4: with other types of animals unleashes.
- 26:28Speaker 13: Yeah, absolutely, but I think there's you know, it's supposed to,
- 26:31Speaker 13: you know, kind of like lower anxiety and things like that.
- 26:34Speaker 13: I just feel like the nightclub is a place that
- 26:37Speaker 13: maybe most people who have anxiety aren't prone to going.
- 26:40Speaker 13: So I'm kind of like, I'm kind of torn. I
- 26:42Speaker 13: feel like this is not a real emotional support animal.
- 26:45Speaker 13: Not downing the emotional support animal thing, but I feel
- 26:48Speaker 13: like this one, you know, I hope you get in
- 26:50Speaker 13: a little bit of trouble for this one, just you know,
- 26:52Speaker 13: for the sake of you know, exactly like you said,
- 26:54Speaker 13: people who really need it and stuff like that. And
- 26:55Speaker 13: I'm making like a Marco Reivent right.
- 26:58Speaker 4: And again I don't know if if they were were
- 27:00Speaker 4: doing that or not. I mean, this could have been
- 27:03Speaker 4: a situation of somebody that was super anxious and you know,
- 27:07Speaker 4: really really felt like they needed this gator. To me,
- 27:10Speaker 4: it speaks more to the delicate mental health situation that
- 27:15Speaker 4: we have in our country where people, you know, think, man,
- 27:18Speaker 4: I can sneak my gator into the club because who
- 27:22Speaker 4: knows this might have, you know, and I'm trying to
- 27:24Speaker 4: play it out of my own mind here. Just imagine,
- 27:26Speaker 4: you know, you're like, man, I am, I'm staying home
- 27:28Speaker 4: on a Friday night because why I'm I can't get
- 27:32Speaker 4: a date. I don't know where to go. I don't
- 27:33Speaker 4: want to go to the bar. All right, I'm going
- 27:35Speaker 4: to go to a bar that has a little bit
- 27:36Speaker 4: of a dance floor, but I don't want to go
- 27:38Speaker 4: without you know, Gary the Gator. So I'm going to
- 27:41Speaker 4: put Gary the cater down my pants. And when the
- 27:43Speaker 4: bouncer thinks that I'm smuggling in a rifle, snappy, snap snap,
- 27:47Speaker 4: there goes the bouncer's finger. I mean, it just it's
- 27:49Speaker 4: a crazy story no matter how you look at it.
- 27:52Speaker 4: And I think this emotional fragility that we're seeing people
- 27:56Speaker 4: all too often, our younger generations, millennials and Gen X,
- 28:00Speaker 4: gen Z rather, uh, it's happening all too often, and
- 28:04Speaker 4: it's to me, it's it's very scary. Melissa.
- 28:07Speaker 13: Absolutely, I'm a little scared too. Next to emotional support animals,
- 28:10Speaker 13: is going to be a pit bull or something like that. Again,
- 28:13Speaker 13: I'm thinking cuddly little support animals. And maybe that's my
- 28:16Speaker 13: fault for just, you know, being so narrow minded.
- 28:18Speaker 4: But maybe we put we put a little leash on
- 28:20Speaker 4: a rat, right.
- 28:22Speaker 13: Well, you know, why not scared a bunch of people off, now,
- 28:24Speaker 13: you know, you know, I mean maybe you feel like,
- 28:26Speaker 13: you know, they didn't need to defend themselves and any
- 28:28Speaker 13: something that's going to defend themselves and maybe a cuddly
- 28:30Speaker 13: little animal is not going to do that for them.
- 28:32Speaker 13: I'm trying to think outside the box here.
- 28:33Speaker 4: Yeah, Well, speaking of the box. On other news, there's
- 28:37Speaker 4: people that likely could use emotional support animals, like the
- 28:41Speaker 4: people that are shooting up college campuses, yelling a lot
- 28:44Speaker 4: acbar and this guy shooting people up in Australia. This
- 28:51Speaker 4: to me, some people will say it's a manufactured media crisis.
- 28:55Speaker 4: I would say there's always been violence, But would you
- 28:58Speaker 4: agree or disagree that there's seems to be a little
- 29:00Speaker 4: bit more of this radical Islamic terrorist type of violence
- 29:05Speaker 4: going on globally.
- 29:08Speaker 13: Yeah, I mean, I think maybe there's part of it
- 29:10Speaker 13: is like maybe we didn't hear about everything all the time,
- 29:12Speaker 13: and it's affecting us here, you know, in the United
- 29:15Speaker 13: States a little bit more, and we're more aware because
- 29:17Speaker 13: there's more focused on other things going on around the
- 29:22Speaker 13: world that maybe are bringing attention to just everything together.
- 29:25Speaker 13: It's just been it's just been Yeah, I mean, you know,
- 29:29Speaker 13: I mean I don't know how to go about like
- 29:31Speaker 13: the Brown shooting especially, you know, because there's always been,
- 29:36Speaker 13: you know, you know, a call for to do something
- 29:39Speaker 13: about the you know, the actual school shooting because the
- 29:41Speaker 13: affects our children and things like that, and so it's
- 29:43Speaker 13: always like, does it go to the mental health crisis,
- 29:46Speaker 13: does it go to two different things as a go
- 29:49Speaker 13: you know, I think that one touches so many different
- 29:52Speaker 13: subjects as well, too, like gun violence, you know, just
- 29:56Speaker 13: overall safety and for our children in our schools, and
- 29:59Speaker 13: you know, things like that. I just, you know, I
- 30:01Speaker 13: have to figure that it all comes together in one point.
- 30:04Speaker 14: You know.
- 30:05Speaker 13: I'm just being able to get a lot more coverage
- 30:07Speaker 13: for things I don't think that we did before.
- 30:10Speaker 4: Yeah. Well, sadly, I think we're in a place where
- 30:13Speaker 4: people want to do harm where people should ought to
- 30:17Speaker 4: be safe. Right, So they're like, Hey, I'm going to
- 30:20Speaker 4: go while somebody's at college and start shooting, or I'm
- 30:23Speaker 4: going to go to a school and start shooting where
- 30:25Speaker 4: I know nobody else has a gun and I'm the
- 30:27Speaker 4: bad guy with the gun, and with any luck, there
- 30:29Speaker 4: won't be any good guys with guns to stop me,
- 30:32Speaker 4: and I'll be able to get my way. And it's unfortunate,
- 30:35Speaker 4: but it seems to be the trend. And I think
- 30:38Speaker 4: the only you know, I can't say there's a solution
- 30:41Speaker 4: to fixing the depravity of one's heart, but there is
- 30:45Speaker 4: a mitigating factor, which is add more people with guns,
- 30:50Speaker 4: because ultimately, you know, people do like to rob banks
- 30:53Speaker 4: because they keep a lot of money in them. But
- 30:55Speaker 4: when you have banks that have armed guards, there's that
- 30:59Speaker 4: much of a chance that you're going to rob that bank.
- 31:02Speaker 4: And if you have schools with more security or harden
- 31:06Speaker 4: these you know, these soft targets a little bit more,
- 31:08Speaker 4: you're going to see less of this type of thing.
- 31:10Speaker 4: Do we eradicate violence from the hearts of the evil? No,
- 31:13Speaker 4: that we can't do, But we can take a couple
- 31:16Speaker 4: of steps, I hope, and I think from you know,
- 31:19Speaker 4: being doing a little bit more to protect our most
- 31:21Speaker 4: vulnerable people, especially when they're at school unarmed.
- 31:25Speaker 13: I can't say I disagree. And I also feel like,
- 31:27Speaker 13: you know, you know, a lot of it has to
- 31:29Speaker 13: do with like mental health, because it seems like, you know,
- 31:31Speaker 13: anywhere there's like good things or joy, it would appear
- 31:34Speaker 13: like that's where they want to target, like you mentioned.
- 31:36Speaker 13: But also it seems feel like you can't really narrow
- 31:40Speaker 13: down like outside of you know, maybe you know, maybe
- 31:44Speaker 13: looking it backround.
- 31:45Speaker 6: And stuff like that.
- 31:45Speaker 13: But a lot of times there hasn't been anybody who
- 31:47Speaker 13: has any kind of like mental health issues in their background.
- 31:50Speaker 13: Sometimes it has been, sometimes there has been. But I
- 31:53Speaker 13: can't disagree. I don't have a problem with guns. You know,
- 31:55Speaker 13: people again are definitely not going to think twice if
- 31:58Speaker 13: there's somewhere that they're so they know that they're done
- 32:01Speaker 13: and they know they're going to get You know, even
- 32:02Speaker 13: if they may be successful, they at least not going
- 32:05Speaker 13: to come out completely successful. They're not going to come
- 32:07Speaker 13: out on farmed at least.
- 32:08Speaker 4: Yeah, makes sense to me. Now, Melissa, final question before
- 32:11Speaker 4: I let you go. What are you thinking of our
- 32:14Speaker 4: new bumper music and our new format? How are you
- 32:17Speaker 4: enjoying it?
- 32:19Speaker 14: I like it.
- 32:20Speaker 13: I like it. It's very upbeat, energetic, goes along with
- 32:22Speaker 13: your energy, and so I'm really enjoying it.
- 32:24Speaker 4: Definitely outstanding. Well, God, bless you, Merry Christmas.
- 32:27Speaker 13: Talk to you, Thank you, God bless nice thing to
- 32:30Speaker 13: you and thank you Merry Christmas.
- 32:31Speaker 4: Amen. Now I mean continue with your thoughts her cause
- 32:35Speaker 4: your reactions online, the voicemails, everything else. And I want
- 32:40Speaker 4: to go to al. Al has given us a call
- 32:42Speaker 4: from Sam Bernardino, California. Al let's go for it.
- 32:46Speaker 6: Hey, rich Al Martinez Second one, California. And there's a
- 32:50Speaker 6: great story about during Crocodile Dungee that he brings a
- 32:53Speaker 6: crocodile into the bar and they won't let him do it.
- 32:56Speaker 6: So then Crocodile Dundee wants to prove that it's a
- 33:00Speaker 6: It so he puts the bar on the table and
- 33:03Speaker 6: he opens up the mouth and he makes it try
- 33:06Speaker 6: to close, and he won't do it. In the bar,
- 33:08Speaker 6: he goes, no, that's not gonna work. So then crocodile
- 33:12Speaker 6: duh what do you call it, grabs the Elliott opens
- 33:18Speaker 6: it up. He pulls out his torriso and he puts
- 33:22Speaker 6: it in the crocodile's mouth, and he still won't buy it.
- 33:26Speaker 6: So the bar t he goes, I'm sorry, that's not
- 33:28Speaker 6: gonna work. You gotta get out of here. And then
- 33:30Speaker 6: all of a sudden, crocodile then he stands up and
- 33:32Speaker 6: he goes, anybody in this bar want to try this?
- 33:35Speaker 6: And this kid in the back raises his hand. He says, I.
- 33:40Speaker 4: Think we lost al I really wanted to see what
- 33:43Speaker 4: happened with crocodile Dundee and the choriso and everything else
- 33:48Speaker 4: that was going on. When this guy raised his hand,
- 33:50Speaker 4: I was really curious. All right, man, try to keep
- 33:54Speaker 4: it to a minute. I'm not sure if you get
- 33:55Speaker 4: more than a minute on this new system. You got
- 33:58Speaker 4: to get those comments, concigns. But I appreciate the call. Brother,
- 34:01Speaker 4: godspeed to you. Marry Christmas. What's that we got him back. Okay, great,
- 34:06Speaker 4: I'll go right ahead.
- 34:07Speaker 14: Rich, to finish the joke. Uh cuarking on the ask
- 34:10Speaker 14: for volunteer. Guy in the back raises his hand. He says,
- 34:14Speaker 14: I'll do it, but if you promise not to hit
- 34:17Speaker 14: me on top of the head.
- 34:20Speaker 6: Aloha and man.
- 34:22Speaker 4: Well, Aloha and malaca MICKI to you too, al And
- 34:26Speaker 4: I know I messed that up. I'm no Elvis, but
- 34:28Speaker 4: thank you brother Mahaalo to you. Merry Christmas for at
- 34:31Speaker 4: least Navidad. I'm glad we're able to get him back.
- 34:34Speaker 4: And I got a couple more stories for you. Don't
- 34:36Speaker 4: go anywhere.
- 34:38Speaker 1: This is America.
- 34:49Speaker 3: The forty fifth President Donald Trump thinks it's an honor
- 34:53Speaker 3: to speak with Rich Valdes.
- 34:55Speaker 6: Oh, very good, Rich.
- 35:00Speaker 4: The honor is all yours. Conservative talk with a dash
- 35:05Speaker 4: of sofrito. Now here's Rich Valdez, all right, and he goes,
- 35:09Speaker 4: welcome back. It's Rich valdesk keeping your company over here.
- 35:13Speaker 4: And I want to bring you some somber news. Somber
- 35:16Speaker 4: to many Meadhead from the famous All in the Family show.
- 35:21Speaker 4: I used to watch that growing up. Archie Bunker Meathead
- 35:24Speaker 4: says that you know he was always at odds with
- 35:27Speaker 4: Archie bunker Well, the actor portraying Meathead, was murdered. Rob
- 35:32Speaker 4: Reiner murdered, and we have a report from Fox News.
- 35:36Speaker 4: I want you to listen to this.
- 35:38Speaker 12: A short while ago, we got that update from the
- 35:40Speaker 12: Los Angeles District Attorney and the police chief who said,
- 35:44Speaker 12: the deaths of Robin Michelle Reiner here are quote heartbreaking
- 35:47Speaker 12: and deeply personal for this entire city. And today the
- 35:51Speaker 12: officials announced charges against the Reiners son, Neck.
- 35:56Speaker 15: These charges will be two counts of first degree murder
- 36:00Speaker 15: with a special circumstance of multiple murders. He also fauses
- 36:05Speaker 15: a special allegation that he personally used a dangerous and
- 36:09Speaker 15: deadly weapon, that being a.
- 36:11Speaker 12: Knife and disturbing. New details have been emerging about what
- 36:16Speaker 12: happened in the hours before police say the Hollywood icon
- 36:19Speaker 12: and his wife were killed in their home. According to TMZ,
- 36:23Speaker 12: Rob Michelle and Nick Reiner attended comedian Conan O'Brien's holiday
- 36:27Speaker 12: party the night before the couple was found, where Nick,
- 36:30Speaker 12: their son, was reportedly acting strangely and later got into
- 36:34Speaker 12: an argument with his dad. TMZ also reporting the thirty
- 36:37Speaker 12: two year old checked into a Santa Monica Hotel around
- 36:40Speaker 12: four am on Sunday, and is said to have left
- 36:43Speaker 12: blood on the bed and in the shower, and photos
- 36:47Speaker 12: show Nick Reiner being arrested about fifteen miles from the
- 36:50Speaker 12: crime scene near downtown LA some six hours after his
- 36:54Speaker 12: parents' bodies were found, reportedly with multiple stab wounds. Reiner
- 36:59Speaker 12: is being represented by celebrity attorney Alan Jackson, who was
- 37:02Speaker 12: spotted entering the family's property today. Jackson says his client,
- 37:06Speaker 12: who has a history of drug abuse and mental illness,
- 37:10Speaker 12: was waiting to be medically cleared to be transferred to
- 37:13Speaker 12: court to face charges. Meanwhile, tributes to Reiner continued to
- 37:18Speaker 12: pour in from those who worked with him over his
- 37:20Speaker 12: five decades in Hollywood.
- 37:24Speaker 3: Rob was like a.
- 37:24Speaker 4: Father to me.
- 37:25Speaker 12: Everything I have is because of Rob Reiner.
- 37:27Speaker 4: It's just a sad, shocking day.
- 37:29Speaker 7: The making of.
- 37:30Speaker 4: That movie was one of the best experiences that I've
- 37:34Speaker 4: ever had on a set.
- 37:37Speaker 7: He was so fun.
- 37:39Speaker 5: Rob literally saved my career and really put me back
- 37:43Speaker 5: on track in a way that was so important and
- 37:47Speaker 5: rewarding in my life.
- 37:50Speaker 12: And Nick Reiner faces life in prison with auparole or
- 37:54Speaker 12: the death sentence here in California.
- 37:56Speaker 4: Brett Again, that's a report from Fox News, and you
- 38:03Speaker 4: heard the voices there of fellow actors like James Woods
- 38:06Speaker 4: and Kevin Bacon and others that you know, pouring out
- 38:11Speaker 4: their support for Rob Reiner. And I was never a
- 38:16Speaker 4: big fan other than his work in Archie Bunker. And again,
- 38:19Speaker 4: my fandom for Archie Bunker was really for Carol O'Connor.
- 38:26Speaker 4: And that's not to slight this man. I mean, nobody
- 38:27Speaker 4: deserves to die. I'm just, you know, saying I'm not
- 38:30Speaker 4: very incredibly knowledgeable on mister Reiner's career other than I
- 38:34Speaker 4: know he's always been rather antagonistic towards Republicans, and that's
- 38:38Speaker 4: that's what I know him for as being a Hollywood liberal.
- 38:42Speaker 4: But the bigger issue here, I think is that he
- 38:45Speaker 4: was murdered by his son. His wife was murdered by
- 38:50Speaker 4: her son, and these bodies were found by their surviving daughter.
- 38:57Speaker 4: Talk about an absolute disaster, absolute nightmare, horror, you know,
- 39:04Speaker 4: right before the first night of Hanukkah, right on Christmas.
- 39:07Speaker 4: I mean, just I have no worries other than that,
- 39:11Speaker 4: young ladies in my prayers. I think all of America
- 39:16Speaker 4: needs to be in all of our prayers right now.
- 39:18Speaker 4: For mental health and the issues that people are facing.
- 39:21Speaker 4: I don't know if it's drug addiction or what, but
- 39:24Speaker 4: whatever it is, we've got to get a handle on things.
- 39:27Speaker 4: And look, we can't stop evil. I always remind myself
- 39:29Speaker 4: of that. It's a sad truth, right, evil can't be stopped.
- 39:36Speaker 4: But I think we can try to let our light
- 39:39Speaker 4: shine enough to maybe affect some of those people in
- 39:43Speaker 4: a positive way. On a lighter note, Rob Reiner was obviously,
- 39:49Speaker 4: you know, famous for this particular role of playing Mike Stivick,
- 39:54Speaker 4: also known as Meathead on the show All in the Family.
- 39:59Speaker 4: He didn't like it. He didn't like the name Meathead.
- 40:01Speaker 4: He didn't like it in this show, and apparently he
- 40:03Speaker 4: didn't like it in real life, which I think is
- 40:04Speaker 4: kind of like a art imitating life type of thing.
- 40:07Speaker 4: That's pretty funny, right. It adds a little bit of
- 40:10Speaker 4: humor to this. And he talked about how he'd been
- 40:12Speaker 4: typecast by this one famous role that he'd played where
- 40:19Speaker 4: he is Meethead and he was meeting the Queen of
- 40:22Speaker 4: the Princess of England at the time, and they were like,
- 40:25Speaker 4: hey me, Dad, and I thought that was pretty funny.
- 40:27Speaker 4: Listen to this.
- 40:28Speaker 2: We went to a royal premiere when Harry I could
- 40:31Speaker 2: win the Nobel Prize and would say, Meathead wins Nobel.
- 40:34Speaker 2: We went to a royal premiere when Harry Metsallion in
- 40:37Speaker 2: London and we're walking up this red carpet to me
- 40:40Speaker 2: Princess Diana, and I got I got meat heeaded a
- 40:43Speaker 2: couple of times with a with a with a British accent.
- 40:45Speaker 2: Hey Meadhead, as you go with Meathead, you know it's
- 40:48Speaker 2: a Copney accent.
- 40:49Speaker 10: They meet it.
- 40:52Speaker 4: You can't tell me that's not funny, that's hysterical. Hey, hey, madhead, Maidhead,
- 40:57Speaker 4: you say, let me go ahead play to say.
- 40:59Speaker 3: Most memory roles in television history, a kind that most
- 41:03Speaker 3: actors would kill for. But the name doesn't have much
- 41:06Speaker 3: to do with who he is today.
- 41:08Speaker 10: It's like dopy to me. Now, it's like dopy. I mean,
- 41:11Speaker 10: it's like it's so far away from who I am
- 41:15Speaker 10: that I find it odd. It's just odd, I mean,
- 41:17Speaker 10: And yet I understand people have that association with me
- 41:20Speaker 10: so that they're gonna call me that, But I mean,
- 41:23Speaker 10: it is so far away from who I am.
- 41:25Speaker 3: And who he is is one of the most powerful
- 41:28Speaker 3: men in Hollywood, A forty six year old studio books.
- 41:32Speaker 3: He lives comfortably with his second wife, photographer Michelle Singer,
- 41:35Speaker 3: and their two sons in a house that once belonged
- 41:38Speaker 3: to Henry Fonda. His films have ranged from mock rock
- 41:42Speaker 3: documentaries to court room dramas, from fairy tale to romantic comedy.
- 41:47Speaker 3: But if there's a trademark to a Reiner film, it's
- 41:51Speaker 3: a main character who usually has something in common with
- 41:54Speaker 3: Rob Reiner.
- 41:56Speaker 4: So again, that's the clip from sixty Minutes. That's, by
- 42:00Speaker 4: the way, from sixty Minutes. In nineteen ninety four. They
- 42:04Speaker 4: mentioned he was forty six years old. In fact, Rob
- 42:07Speaker 4: Reiner was seventy eight years old at the time of
- 42:08Speaker 4: his murder on Sunday. And it's a shame to see,
- 42:14Speaker 4: obviously anybody get killed, especially with their wife, especially by
- 42:17Speaker 4: their own son, especially found by their daughter. I mean,
- 42:21Speaker 4: just again, the whole thing is horrific. And I don't
- 42:25Speaker 4: have a lot of words, and it's rare that I
- 42:27Speaker 4: don't have words, but this is one of those things.
- 42:29Speaker 4: I don't wish this on the people that I dislike,
- 42:31Speaker 4: I don't wish it on my enemies, I don't wish
- 42:33Speaker 4: on anybody. It's a horrible thing. I'm sorry that it
- 42:36Speaker 4: happened to him, and I pray it doesn't happen to
- 42:39Speaker 4: anybody else. But it does shed a light on what
- 42:45Speaker 4: we face. And President Trump actually waited on this, and
- 42:50Speaker 4: he took some heat for his comments as well. Check
- 42:53Speaker 4: this out.
- 42:56Speaker 7: She was a number of Republicans have denounced your statement
- 43:00Speaker 7: on True Social after the murder of Rob Reiner.
- 43:03Speaker 9: Do you stand by that post?
- 43:04Speaker 16: Well, I wasn't a fan of his at all. He
- 43:06Speaker 16: was a deranged person as far as Trump is concerned.
- 43:09Speaker 16: He said he liked he knew it was false effect.
- 43:13Speaker 16: It's the exact opposite that I was a friend of Russia,
- 43:17Speaker 16: controlled by Russia. You know, it was the Russia hoax.
- 43:19Speaker 16: He was one of the people behind it. I think
- 43:22Speaker 16: he heard himself in career wise, he became like a
- 43:25Speaker 16: deranged person Trump derangement syndrome. So I was not a
- 43:29Speaker 16: fan of Rob Reiner at all, in any way, shape
- 43:32Speaker 16: or form. I thought he was very bad for our country.
- 43:34Speaker 6: Yeah, President, a number of Republics.
- 43:39Speaker 4: So that's President Trump said. I think it was a
- 43:41Speaker 4: matter of fact. I think some people are freaking out
- 43:44Speaker 4: about what he said. And I guess, uh, you know,
- 43:47Speaker 4: call me the biased part of the minority. I always
- 43:51Speaker 4: thought I was in the majority. But I think if
- 43:56Speaker 4: you are respectful, I don't think he was disrespectful in
- 43:58Speaker 4: what he said. I think he could have turned on
- 44:02Speaker 4: some theatrics. Sure do I think he should have. No,
- 44:06Speaker 4: I think he was very matter of fact. Number one,
- 44:09Speaker 4: this was not a press conference about Rob Reiner. He
- 44:11Speaker 4: answered the question, all right. He was there talking about
- 44:14Speaker 4: a bunch of different things. And obviously it's a press conference,
- 44:17Speaker 4: so it's wide ranging. But ultimately, you know they're saying
- 44:22Speaker 4: his truth social post was a little rough, and I'll
- 44:25Speaker 4: read it to you. Maybe it was. You'd be the judge,
- 44:30Speaker 4: he says. And I'll do this in my Trump voice.
- 44:33Speaker 4: And again, I'm not a professional Trump impersonator, but I
- 44:35Speaker 4: have a good time doing a little bit of Trump.
- 44:38Speaker 4: I try to practice the menderisms. And a very sad
- 44:41Speaker 4: thing happened in Hollywood last night. Rob Reiner, a tortured
- 44:46Speaker 4: and struggling but once very talented movie director and comedy star,
- 44:50Speaker 4: has passed away together with his wife Michelle, reportedly due
- 44:54Speaker 4: to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding
- 44:58Speaker 4: and uncurable affliction. They mind crippling disease as Trump derangement syndrome,
- 45:04Speaker 4: sometimes referred to as TDS. He was known to have
- 45:08Speaker 4: driven people crazy by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump,
- 45:14Speaker 4: with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump
- 45:17Speaker 4: administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with
- 45:22Speaker 4: the golden Age of America upon us perhaps like never before.
- 45:27Speaker 4: May Rob and Michelle rest in peace. Now, this is
- 45:32Speaker 4: what they're asking the question about. I think his answer
- 45:38Speaker 4: here was a lot more respectful. Would I have put
- 45:48Speaker 4: out this tweet? Likely not that way. I think the
- 45:51Speaker 4: first part and the end part are good. It's the
- 45:53Speaker 4: middle that I think is a little bit tough. When
- 45:57Speaker 4: he goes into the TDS. You know, I might have
- 45:59Speaker 4: said things like, you know, it's unfortunate what happened to him,
- 46:03Speaker 4: despite him being a very vocal critic of mine and
- 46:06Speaker 4: me not being a fan of his. I don't wish
- 46:09Speaker 4: it's not anyone, you know, kind of what I did say.
- 46:12Speaker 4: But that doesn't mean that Trump is now somehow unworthy
- 46:14Speaker 4: of anything. He can't be president. He's not a good
- 46:17Speaker 4: human being, none of those things. I mean, if anybody's
- 46:20Speaker 4: going to give him. Some counsel, maybe it's Pastor Paul White,
- 46:23Speaker 4: that might say, you know, President Trump, we want to
- 46:25Speaker 4: operate within the fruit of the spirit, love, kindness, gentleness, meekness. Right,
- 46:30Speaker 4: these are challenges for me too, so I relate on
- 46:34Speaker 4: that front. But do I think that this is something
- 46:39Speaker 4: to stop the presses? Listen to what President Trump said.
- 46:42Speaker 16: Now.
- 46:43Speaker 4: Meanwhile, we've got so many interesting things going on with
- 46:47Speaker 4: the with the what's the word blockade, that's the word,
- 46:54Speaker 4: the blockade of the Maduro ship, and so many other
- 46:58Speaker 4: things that are happening right, Progress, albeit extremely slow, I think,
- 47:03Speaker 4: being made with Russia and Ukraine, and maybe it's you know,
- 47:07Speaker 4: progress by President Trump's definition, maybe not by everybody else's.
- 47:10Speaker 4: I will conceive that point too. I think that little
- 47:14Speaker 4: by little we're seeing Zelenski come to reality with the
- 47:17Speaker 4: fact that this is a war that likely cannot be won.
- 47:24Speaker 4: I have been of the opinion that Ukraine should give
- 47:27Speaker 4: it all they've got and we should support them, and
- 47:29Speaker 4: we did. Write President Trump sold them all the weapons
- 47:31Speaker 4: that they needed. I think they have everything they need.
- 47:34Speaker 4: The problem is Russia has support and money and apparently
- 47:39Speaker 4: an unending supply of men, and I think that when
- 47:44Speaker 4: it comes to attrition, they win the war. So I
- 47:48Speaker 4: don't know where this ends. If anybody thinks that we're
- 47:52Speaker 4: going to eliminate Russia, I don't think that's happening. If
- 47:56Speaker 4: anybody thinks that we're going to dethrone Putin, it doesn't
- 47:59Speaker 4: seem that's gonna happen. You know, at first I thought
- 48:02Speaker 4: maybe Zelenski would send in his equivalent of Sealed Team
- 48:05Speaker 4: six and try and take out the president. That didn't happen.
- 48:10Speaker 4: So what is the strategy? Doesn't seem like there is one.
- 48:14Speaker 4: Looks like the upper hand little by little is being
- 48:17Speaker 4: gained by President Putin, President Zelenski losing ground. At some point.
- 48:23Speaker 4: You've got to make a deal, right, this is a
- 48:25Speaker 4: deal that they're trying to make. You can make the
- 48:27Speaker 4: deal in your favor when you have hand, as they
- 48:30Speaker 4: say in Seinfeld, When you don't have hand, you know
- 48:34Speaker 4: you don't have especially the upper hand. When does My
- 48:37Speaker 4: dad would say that Chabat, you're screwed. So what are
- 48:40Speaker 4: you gonna do? You got no choice but to make
- 48:42Speaker 4: a deal. But it seems like the Europeans are doubling down,
- 48:46Speaker 4: saying no, we're with Zelenski. Then they're saying, no, we're
- 48:49Speaker 4: not with Zelenski. You know, we're kind of signaling that
- 48:51Speaker 4: they'd want to pull out. Listen, I think at the
- 48:55Speaker 4: end of the day, and I don't know how long
- 48:57Speaker 4: this day is, but we've got to get to the
- 48:59Speaker 4: end of it soon. The killing has to stop. The
- 49:02Speaker 4: killing has to stop, and whatever it is that reasonably
- 49:05Speaker 4: makes sense to get there, we got to get there.
- 49:08Speaker 4: I know that's easy for me to say and not
- 49:10Speaker 4: to enact. I get that, but we'll get an update
- 49:14Speaker 4: on that. I'm going to invite General Blaine Holt to
- 49:16Speaker 4: join the program, have him call in, and I've been
- 49:20Speaker 4: in touch with him, I just haven't had him on
- 49:22Speaker 4: the show. He's been busy doing a little traveling and whatnot.
- 49:25Speaker 4: But I want to get his intake on that. As
- 49:27Speaker 4: the former Deputy Representative to NATO and Air Force General,
- 49:30Speaker 4: he always has a unique insight for that region of
- 49:32Speaker 4: the world. And again, rip to Carl, excuse me, Rob
- 49:39Speaker 4: Reiner who was murdered by his son, and his wife
- 49:43Speaker 4: who was murdered by her son, and to the young
- 49:45Speaker 4: woman their daughter who found their bodies absolutely horrible, and
- 49:51Speaker 4: my condolences and prayers are with the family. Now, straight ahead,
- 49:56Speaker 4: I want to talk about the state of the media.
- 50:02Speaker 4: Just a couple of articles I saw that are pretty interesting.
- 50:04Speaker 4: It's some news that came out about a deal with
- 50:08Speaker 4: actually two deals that were made by a big company,
- 50:12Speaker 4: and a couple of Christmas traditions. As we get closer
- 50:15Speaker 4: and closer to at least now, I want to share
- 50:18Speaker 4: some of that with you as well. So keep it
- 50:20Speaker 4: locked right here, folks, it's Rich Valdez. Don't go anywhere.
- 50:22Speaker 1: This is America. This is America.
- 50:40Speaker 4: He's making podcasting great again.
- 50:43Speaker 1: This is America with Rich Valdez.
- 50:48Speaker 4: All right. I mean he goes welcome back, welcome back,
- 50:52Speaker 4: welcome back. That's like a what's that welcome back?
- 50:55Speaker 10: Donter?
- 50:56Speaker 4: Hey, I like this song, but I feel like it's
- 50:58Speaker 4: a little long. Me I get. Let's start bringing that
- 51:02Speaker 4: one down. Here we go, see how that works.
- 51:05Speaker 12: Thank you.
- 51:06Speaker 4: So I want to get into some of its discussion
- 51:09Speaker 4: here about the media, right I saw this article. It
- 51:14Speaker 4: was a couple of months old, but it popped up
- 51:16Speaker 4: in my feed and let me see if I could
- 51:19Speaker 4: find it right now on my desktop very quickly. I
- 51:22Speaker 4: doubt I can. I probably close it whenever I need
- 51:24Speaker 4: something it's it's always because I've opened it and then
- 51:26Speaker 4: I've closed it. But it was in Fortune magazine. And
- 51:33Speaker 4: look at this. Here we go broadcast TV in no
- 51:37Speaker 4: man's land as younger viewers flocked to streaming and boomers
- 51:40Speaker 4: turn to Fox News. So apparently TV networks are doing
- 51:44Speaker 4: so badly that there's not much left for them to do. Now,
- 51:49Speaker 4: this is a very interesting take, right, because I'm come
- 51:56Speaker 4: you know, I come from radio, excuse me. And in radio,
- 52:00Speaker 4: the old joke is radio is dying, Radio is dying,
- 52:03Speaker 4: and the answer is always, you know, the death of
- 52:08Speaker 4: radio came when TV started. And guess what Radio is
- 52:11Speaker 4: still around. It's still alive and well despite not going
- 52:16Speaker 4: I mean it went HD, but that didn't make a difference.
- 52:18Speaker 4: It went satellite. That made some difference, but no major difference. Right.
- 52:22Speaker 4: The reality is AM radio FM radio, getting in your
- 52:25Speaker 4: car and turning on that little box for free that
- 52:27Speaker 4: plays commercials and talk and music. That little thing still
- 52:32Speaker 4: works today like it did one hundred years ago, and
- 52:35Speaker 4: that's fantastic. Radio is terrific. However, TV is a little different,
- 52:41Speaker 4: and the saving grace of radio is the fact that
- 52:44Speaker 4: you could hear it in your car and that you
- 52:47Speaker 4: can bring small portable radios in different places. Right, you
- 52:51Speaker 4: can just take it with you. You hear lots of
- 52:53Speaker 4: people talking about when I was a kid listen to
- 52:55Speaker 4: ball games on a small transistor radio. Now, what's interesting
- 53:01Speaker 4: about all this? Excuse me? What's interesting about all this
- 53:06Speaker 4: is that radio also is pairing down in a certain way,
- 53:11Speaker 4: while it's also exploding exponentially in other areas. So, for example,
- 53:16Speaker 4: most radio companies have switched from calling themselves radio to
- 53:21Speaker 4: calling themselves audio. I'll start with a company called radio
- 53:25Speaker 4: dot com, right, Odyssey. I used to work for Odissey
- 53:28Speaker 4: WPHT twelve ten, Philadelphia. They changed their main logo. They
- 53:35Speaker 4: got rid of their website, radio dot com. They didn't
- 53:37Speaker 4: want it anymore. Radio dot com was their website, and
- 53:41Speaker 4: they changed it to audisse Au dac y Right. Why
- 53:48Speaker 4: They explained that at the time, but had something to
- 53:51Speaker 4: do with audio. And that's the new name of the company, Odyssey. Now,
- 53:58Speaker 4: I don't think that was in a great marketing plan.
- 54:01Speaker 4: I think radio dot com is a better way because, ultimately,
- 54:05Speaker 4: my opinion, whether you're watching TV on your cell phone,
- 54:10Speaker 4: on your iPad, through a streaming television, through cable or
- 54:16Speaker 4: through broadcast. Everybody pretty much says they're watching TV. I
- 54:22Speaker 4: think even the young people. Now, if you're very very young,
- 54:25Speaker 4: you might say I saw it on TikTok, or I
- 54:29Speaker 4: saw it online, or I don't know, I saw right,
- 54:34Speaker 4: because maybe they don't give attribution the same way. But
- 54:37Speaker 4: for the most part, it's TV and radio. Whether it's
- 54:43Speaker 4: podcast or streaming or those things, is still radio, I believe. Now.
- 54:49Speaker 4: I understand that there's a lot of people that take
- 54:51Speaker 4: exception to podcasting and digital and streaming and things like that.
- 54:55Speaker 4: I understand that has a lot to do with one's
- 54:57Speaker 4: age and the facility of use, right, the ease of use.
- 55:03Speaker 4: Many people like me. You get in the car your radio.
- 55:06Speaker 4: You got six preset stations, once for traffic and weather,
- 55:10Speaker 4: once for the music you like, one's for your favorite
- 55:12Speaker 4: talk station, once for your second favorite talk station, right,
- 55:15Speaker 4: and so on and so forth. I get that, and
- 55:18Speaker 4: I love that, and I do the same thing. What
- 55:22Speaker 4: is different now? I'm gonna tell you about a couple
- 55:25Speaker 4: of conversations I've recently had with some dear friends, old
- 55:29Speaker 4: radio friends, colleagues of mine, and one of them works
- 55:34Speaker 4: for a large company, and I guess I could say
- 55:39Speaker 4: and right, fox News Radio And he said, oh, you know,
- 55:43Speaker 4: we're called Fox News Audio now. And I said, oh, okay,
- 55:47Speaker 4: Well what are you doing over at Fox News Audio
- 55:49Speaker 4: these days? And he said, Oh, we're doing a lot
- 55:51Speaker 4: of YouTube videos. And I thought, huh, that's interesting. So
- 55:56Speaker 4: the radio division of the biggest cable news player in
- 56:00Speaker 4: America is doing a lot of YouTube videos. Now, does
- 56:06Speaker 4: this mean that they're missing the mark? Does this mean
- 56:10Speaker 4: that they're losing money? I'd say no on both accounts.
- 56:15Speaker 4: What I'd say is that it means that they've figured
- 56:18Speaker 4: out that listening habits of many listeners have changed. It
- 56:26Speaker 4: doesn't mean all and it doesn't mean it's permanent, and
- 56:28Speaker 4: it doesn't mean it's a zero sum game either. That
- 56:31Speaker 4: doesn't mean people are gonna stop listening to their preset
- 56:34Speaker 4: stations in their car, but it does mean that some might,
- 56:38Speaker 4: and that some might be me. I can tell you
- 56:41Speaker 4: this because there's a few radio shows that I like. Right.
- 56:47Speaker 4: I've had him on the show before, Mark Simone. He's
- 56:50Speaker 4: a New York radio host, local host WR seven ten AM.
- 56:54Speaker 4: I like Mark Simone's show when I can I listen
- 56:57Speaker 4: to it. I like Levin's show when I can I
- 57:02Speaker 4: listen to that, But I can tell you the truth
- 57:06Speaker 4: that I don't listen to either of them on my
- 57:09Speaker 4: car radio. But I listen to both of them through
- 57:14Speaker 4: my car radio by pressing the button on the side
- 57:18Speaker 4: of my iPhone and saying, Siri play seven to ten
- 57:23Speaker 4: WOR or Siri play one oh five point nine WML
- 57:30Speaker 4: to listen to Mark Levin. And I find that's so
- 57:37Speaker 4: easy for me. It goes right through because my phone's
- 57:40Speaker 4: already connected via Bluetooth, and I get the digital clear
- 57:45Speaker 4: signal without the little bit of static. Now, I used
- 57:48Speaker 4: to be a fan of the static that goes with
- 57:51Speaker 4: the AM radio. You know, it's a little bit. It
- 57:54Speaker 4: just sounds radio ish if you pass you know, certain
- 57:57Speaker 4: big concrete buildies. Yeah, you know, it's annoying, but you
- 58:03Speaker 4: get used to that, right because it's it's a I'm radio.
- 58:06Speaker 4: But when that doesn't happen, I'm old enough to remember
- 58:10Speaker 4: when I used to drive through the Lincoln Tunnel, I
- 58:13Speaker 4: would lose radio. Now I don't why, because of streaming
- 58:18Speaker 4: and things like that, And of course now they've put
- 58:19Speaker 4: different antennas and whatnot repeaters down there. So I bring
- 58:24Speaker 4: all that up to say that while people are going
- 58:30Speaker 4: to continue listening to actual physical radios, whether it's in
- 58:34Speaker 4: their car and their house or in their job, there
- 58:38Speaker 4: are still entire industries where people are creating digital radios
- 58:42Speaker 4: so that people can listen to digital radio programs like
- 58:45Speaker 4: this one and others where they can hear it a
- 58:49Speaker 4: when they want to, or B if it's streamed online,
- 58:53Speaker 4: they can do that. That's Part A now Part B video.
- 58:57Speaker 4: It came as no surprise to me that my other
- 59:00Speaker 4: friend from a big major market talk radio station told
- 59:05Speaker 4: me that they had launched a big initiative to start
- 59:08Speaker 4: putting every host you know on TV if you will,
- 59:12Speaker 4: or on camera, you know, think of the Russia Limbaudito
- 59:15Speaker 4: cam for every single radio show. And it did so
- 59:21Speaker 4: well that they pulled the plug on it. And they
- 59:24Speaker 4: only they stopped live streaming every show on video because
- 59:29Speaker 4: they found that it was cannibalizing their live stream. And
- 59:34Speaker 4: I thought to myself, there's two ways of looking at
- 59:36Speaker 4: that problem. A as a problem and B as an opportunity.
- 59:40Speaker 4: Number One, if you have a device that is becoming
- 59:45Speaker 4: increasingly easy to use to listen to things, right, I
- 59:49Speaker 4: have a radio in my kitchen, and I have a
- 59:52Speaker 4: radio in my car. If I'm in my backyard, I
- 59:56Speaker 4: cannot hear the radio unless I get a sm all
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: one and bring it outside one of my cool see
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: crane radios. Now, if I don't do that, or if
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: the battery's not going right or whatever, I'm done right.
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: But I can always play it on my phone, play
- 1:00:12Speaker 4: it on the iPad, that type of thing. Right. Plus
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: there's Alexa, So these things are are real. Now. The
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: station that I'm talking about, this major market station, they
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: decided to stop using their you know, one hundred percent
- 1:00:27Speaker 4: live stream of every show and going with just using
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: that video to promote clips online through social media so
- 1:00:34Speaker 4: that people would listen to the show. Fine, and I
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: think in their opinion, they figured, we are fixing the
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: problem of people not live streaming us or tuning in
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: live on radio. But the reality is it wasn't cannibalizing it.
- 1:00:51Speaker 4: It was just adapting to the updated usage patterns of
- 1:00:56Speaker 4: many listeners. And when you're a young radio host like me,
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: I have to look at the trends in the future.
- 1:01:04Speaker 4: I have to realize that the fact that I don't
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: put myself on YouTube every day, or my network or
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: my former network doesn't put me on YouTube is something
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: that will come back and bite me in the long run.
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: And that's where you know, constructing or crafting a contract
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: that allows you to do all of those things is
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: very important for the longevity of your own career and
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: for the continued messaging of you through your platform. So
- 1:01:35Speaker 4: that being said, listen to this. There is some news
- 1:01:38Speaker 4: today or yesterday or whatever. It was the fourth largest
- 1:01:44Speaker 4: cable company in the United States, Newsmax Television. They just
- 1:01:49Speaker 4: re signed a deal with YouTube. YouTube TV the premium
- 1:01:58Speaker 4: the subscription part of YouTube where you can watch premium channels.
- 1:02:02Speaker 4: It's almost like Amazon Prime right again, Amazon Prime, just
- 1:02:06Speaker 4: look at Amazon Prime started out as something you paid
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: for every month so you can have cheap shipping. Then
- 1:02:11Speaker 4: it had Prime Video. Now it's a whole thing where
- 1:02:14Speaker 4: they've launched their own TV shows, it's their own network,
- 1:02:17Speaker 4: they have their own movies. You've got Apple TV doing
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: the same thing. And now another big deal. Let me
- 1:02:26Speaker 4: see if I could find this one. This one's even better. iHeartMedia.
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: So that's iHeart used to be iHeartRadio, right and they
- 1:02:35Speaker 4: still have iHeartRadio as a brand, but iHeartMedia includes their
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: podcast division, their streaming division, and now their video podcast division.
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: And who are they partnering with? Netflix? Probably the biggest
- 1:02:49Speaker 4: streaming video company in the world. So now iHeartMedia is
- 1:02:53Speaker 4: now partnering with Netflix for video podcast distribution. How about that?
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: iHeartMedia is entered into an exclusive video podcasting partnership with
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: Netflix for some fifteen of its video podcasts to be
- 1:03:07Speaker 4: available on Netflix in early twenty twenty six. How's that?
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: So the millions or I should say tens of millions right,
- 1:03:16Speaker 4: Roku tv has something like ninety million subscribers, Netflix buries them.
- 1:03:23Speaker 4: So with Netflix being the biggest fish in the pond
- 1:03:29Speaker 4: and iHeart now scoring their video podcasts there, do you
- 1:03:33Speaker 4: think Iheart's sitting back going I wonder what's gonna happen
- 1:03:36Speaker 4: to the ratings on radio? I wonder what's gonna happen
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: to people streaming the audio? No, of course not. They're
- 1:03:43Speaker 4: doing this because they realize that there's a need for
- 1:03:46Speaker 4: people who want to watch people who are already in
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: the Netflix ecosystem that are like, hey, I'd like to
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: watch some iHeart. Right, the other day, I was listening
- 1:03:56Speaker 4: to an iHeart talk radio show through Roku tv just
- 1:04:00Speaker 4: because I happened to be watching TV, I hit the
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: back button, I saw the ROCUD channel. I went out
- 1:04:05Speaker 4: over to the iHeart, and I just it was convenient,
- 1:04:08Speaker 4: it was there, and it was easy, and I listened
- 1:04:10Speaker 4: to what I wanted to listen to. So I say
- 1:04:13Speaker 4: that to say I am not an early adopter or
- 1:04:16Speaker 4: some sort of techy young guy, I'm really not. I'm
- 1:04:19Speaker 4: a very old soul for a young guy that loves
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: talk radio. But I realize that there are generations coming
- 1:04:26Speaker 4: behind me, and there are generations that have already come
- 1:04:31Speaker 4: that are quicker to adopt than I am, and they
- 1:04:35Speaker 4: are very apt when it comes to streaming digital when
- 1:04:39Speaker 4: it comes to doing that. In fact, the term cord
- 1:04:42Speaker 4: cutter not even used anymore. But most people I know,
- 1:04:45Speaker 4: I don't know about you, and maybe it's a good
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: call on topic for tomorrow's show. Most people I know
- 1:04:51Speaker 4: don't even pay a cable bill anymore. They pay three
- 1:04:55Speaker 4: or four subscriptions on streaming services like Hulu or Netflix
- 1:04:58Speaker 4: or Amazon Prime or some other streaming service that they use,
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: and that's it. And they probably spend forty fifty or
- 1:05:07Speaker 4: sixty dollars a month as opposed to the one hundred
- 1:05:10Speaker 4: or one hundred and twenty one hundred and sixty dollars
- 1:05:12Speaker 4: a month they used to spend on their optimum TV
- 1:05:15Speaker 4: or their spectrum cable, And that, to me is the
- 1:05:19Speaker 4: way the future is going to go. Why Because every
- 1:05:22Speaker 4: time you get a new update on your phone, it's
- 1:05:24Speaker 4: to accommodate more Internet. The video ability has taken over.
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: Instagram was once an app that sold for a billion
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: bucks when I first sold because it was for photo sharing.
- 1:05:38Speaker 4: People still put photos on Instagram, but it's dominated by
- 1:05:41Speaker 4: video YouTube dominated by video. Have you been on Facebook lately?
- 1:05:47Speaker 4: Dominated by video? Why? Because we can all consume and
- 1:05:52Speaker 4: process massive amounts of video at the same time without
- 1:05:56Speaker 4: buffering issues anymore. So now the question becomes who's watching TV?
- 1:06:04Speaker 4: I watched my news on my iPad. I rarely even
- 1:06:07Speaker 4: watch the TV in my living room. And again, I'm
- 1:06:09Speaker 4: just saying that that happens to be my life. So
- 1:06:12Speaker 4: I think that that is indicative of a shift, not
- 1:06:15Speaker 4: one that's permanent. I mean it's permanent, but not one
- 1:06:18Speaker 4: that is all encompassing. It doesn't mean that people are
- 1:06:22Speaker 4: going to give up on TV entirely, and it doesn't
- 1:06:24Speaker 4: mean that people are going to give up on radio entirely.
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: I would not want that or expect that, but it
- 1:06:28Speaker 4: does mean there are a lot of people that are
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: looking for new ways to consume, just like electric cars.
- 1:06:35Speaker 4: Who thought that that was going to be a thing.
- 1:06:37Speaker 4: Now most of you know somebody, at least one somebody
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: that has a Tesla, that has a Rivian that has
- 1:06:44Speaker 4: an electric Beamer or one of the other electric cars.
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: So that being said, we are going to be navigating
- 1:06:53Speaker 4: those waters as well and launching a streaming show. And
- 1:06:58Speaker 4: I'm excited to talk about it more as we get
- 1:07:00Speaker 4: closer and closer to our launch, which will be in
- 1:07:03Speaker 4: early twenty twenty six. But these are the reasons why.
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: Because of the iHeartMedia partnerships with Netflix, because of the
- 1:07:11Speaker 4: Newsmax partnership with YouTube TV, one of their biggest carriage deals,
- 1:07:17Speaker 4: not even a TV network, right, So that is the future.
- 1:07:23Speaker 4: A cable company sees the light and says, hey, we're
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: not talking about running this through coactual cable anymore. We're
- 1:07:30Speaker 4: talking about streaming this over the internet with the giant
- 1:07:34Speaker 4: in streaming YouTube TV. So I just wanted to bring
- 1:07:38Speaker 4: that up because all of us need to be aware
- 1:07:41Speaker 4: of the coming changing trends in how we consume our news, information, entertainment,
- 1:07:48Speaker 4: and honestly, how we get together each night for our
- 1:07:51Speaker 4: town hall conversation. So that's all I've got for now.
- 1:07:54Speaker 4: I'll share the Christmas traditions with you on the next episode.
- 1:07:57Speaker 4: And of course I bid you ado by saying that
- 1:08:00Speaker 4: we have to stand for something. If we stand for nothing,
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: will fall for anything. And the only thing necessary for
- 1:08:06Speaker 4: evil to triumph is for good people like you to
- 1:08:09Speaker 4: sit there and do nothing. I start approxima, Take care,
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: good night, and God bless you America. I'm Rich Valdez.
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: This is America.
