Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
• 0:06
rooted in Scripture and relevant for today, February 22nd.
• 0:12
Straight paths in a twisted world.
• 0:14
Have you ever felt like you're swimming against the current,
• 0:16
just trying to do the right thing?
• 0:19
Like everyone else is finding faster, easier ways to get
• 0:23
ahead, and you're left wondering if integrity is even worth it
• 0:26
anymore. In a world that celebrates
• 0:29
shortcuts and rewards compromise, choosing what's
• 0:32
right can feel lonely, slow, and even foolish.
• 0:35
But God sees paths very differently than we do.
• 0:39
Proverbs Chapter 11, verses 5 to 6, tells us that the
• 0:43
righteousness of the blameless keeps their way straight, while
• 0:46
wickedness causes people to trip over their own choices.
• 0:50
That's such an important truth. God isn't saying righteous
• 0:54
people never struggle. He's saying that choosing his
• 0:56
way protects you from traps you don't even see.
• 0:59
Yet when you walk in righteousness, your path stays
• 1:02
clear. When you cut corners, those
• 1:05
  shortcuts eventually turn into chains.
• 1:07
So many people think freedom comes from doing whatever you
• 1:10
want, but Scripture says the opposite.
• 1:14
It says the treacherous are taken captive by their own
• 1:16
desires. What feels exciting at first
• 1:19
slowly tightens its grip. But righteousness delivers.
• 1:23
It guards your heart, your future, and your peace.
• 1:26
Psalm 22 brings comfort to this truth.
• 1:29
David says that God was with him from the very beginning, from
• 1:32
the womb, from birth, before he understood anything about life.
• 1:37
God was already present, already faithful.
• 1:40
That means you are not navigating this twisted world
• 1:43
alone. God has been part of your story
• 1:46
longer than your struggles, longer than your doubts, longer
• 1:49
than your mistakes. When life feels unfair and it
• 1:53
seems like others are winning by doing the wrong thing, remember
• 1:56
this. God's path may feel slower, but
• 1:58
it is steady. It may feel harder, but it is
• 2:01
safer. It leads to peace instead of
• 2:04
regret, freedom instead of captivity, and confidence
• 2:07
instead of shame. Doing what's right isn't about
• 2:10
earning God's love. It's about trusting that He
• 2:13
knows where the road leads. When you choose righteousness,
• 2:16
you're choosing clarity. You're choosing protection.
• 2:20
You're choosing a path shaped by a God who has walked with you
• 2:23
since the very beginning and isn't about to abandon you now.
• 2:27
So don't be discouraged if integrity cost you time,
• 2:30
popularity, or comfort. God is guiding your steps.
• 2:34
Straight. Paths in a twisted world are
• 2:36
still possible when you walk with Him.
• 2:38
Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank you for
• 2:41
being with me from the very beginning of my life.
• 2:44
When doing the right thing feels hard or lonely, remind me that
• 2:48
Your way protects and delivers. Help me resist the temptation of
• 2:51
shortcuts that lead to regret. Give me courage to walk in
• 2:55
righteousness, trusting that You are guiding my steps and leading
• 2:59
me toward peace and freedom. I choose your path even when
• 3:02
it's hard because I trust you with my life in Jesus name,
• 3:07
Amen. What if the way you pray changed
• 3:10
because you truly knew who God is?

Proverbs Chapter 11 verses 5 to 6 World English Bible the
• 4:35
righteousness of the blameless will direct his way, but the
• 4:38
wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
• 4:40
The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them, but the
• 4:42
unfaithful will be trapped by evil desires.
• 4:45
Psalm chapter 22 world English Bible for the chief musician set
• 4:50
to the dough of the morning a Psalm by David my God, my God,
• 4:55
why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from helping
• 4:58
me and from the words of my groaning?
• 5:00
My God, I cry in the daytime, but you don't answer in the
• 5:03
night season, and I'm not silent.
• 5:05
But you are holy, you who inhabit the praises of Israel.
• 5:08
Our fathers trusted in you. They trusted and you delivered
• 5:12
them. They cried to you and were
• 5:13
delivered. They trusted in you and were not
• 5:16
disappointed. But I am a worm, and no man a
• 5:19
reproach of men, and despised by the people.
• 5:22
All those who see me mock me. They insult me with their lips,
• 5:25
they shake their heads, saying He trusts in Yahweh, let him
• 5:29
deliver him, let him rescue him, since he delights in him.
• 5:32
But you brought me out of the womb.
• 5:34
You made me trust while at my mother's breasts.
• 5:37
I was thrown on you from my mother's womb.
• 5:39
You are my God since my mother bore me.
• 5:41
Don't be far from me, for trouble is near, for there is no
• 5:44
one to help. Many bulls have surrounded me,
• 5:47
strong bulls of bash and have encircled me.
• 5:50
They open their mouths wide against me, lions tearing prey
• 5:53
and roaring. I am poured out like water.
• 5:56
All my bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax.
• 5:59
It is melted within me. My strength is dried up like a
• 6:02
potsherd. My tongue sticks to the roof of
• 6:05
my mouth. You have brought me into the
• 6:06
dust of death, for dogs have surrounded me.
• 6:09
A company of evildoers have enclosed me.
• 6:12
They have pierced my hands and feet.
• 6:14
I can count all of my bones. They look and stare at me.
• 6:17
They divide my garments among them.
• 6:19
They cast lots for my clothing. But don't be far off, Yahweh.
• 6:23
You are my help. Hurry to help me deliver my soul
• 6:26
from the sword, my precious life from the power of the dog.
• 6:29
Save me from the lion's mouth. Yes, you have rescued me from
• 6:33
the horns of the wild oxen. I will declare your name to my
• 6:36
brothers among the assembly. I will praise you, You who fear
• 6:40
  Yahweh. Praise Him.
• 6:41
All you descendants of Jacob. Glorify him.
• 6:44
Stand in awe of Him, all you descendants of Israel, for He
• 6:47
has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted,
• 6:51
neither has He hidden His face from Him.
• 6:53
But when He cried to Him, He heard.
• 6:55
My praise of you comes in the great assembly.
• 6:57
I will pay my vows before those who fear Him.
• 7:00
The humble shall eat and be satisfied.
• 7:03
They shall praise Yahweh who seek after Him.
• 7:05
Let your hearts live forever. All the ends of the earth shall
• 7:08
remember and turn to Yahweh. All the relatives of the nations
• 7:12
shall worship before you, for the Kingdom is Yahweh's.
• 7:15
He is the ruler over the nation's.
• 7:17
All the rich ones of the earth shall eat and worship.
• 7:20
All those who go down to the dust shall bow before Him.
• 7:23
Even he who can't keep his soul alive, posterity shall serve
• 7:27
him. Future generations shall be told
• 7:29
about the Lord. They shall come and shall
• 7:32
declare His righteousness to a people that shall be born, for
• 7:34
He has done it. Thanks for joining us on Bible
