Lexington’s trash pickup’s got a holiday twist—due to July 4th falling on a Saturday, Friday collections move to Wednesday, July 1st. It’s not the first adjustment this year, with Juneteenth and severe weather already throwing curveballs. Even recycling got sidelined June 23rd after rain caused mechanical issues at the center, sending recyclables to landfill. But relief’s on the way: regular schedules resume Monday, July 6th.
