Let's start with something very common: bread. Luna: Bread. I love bread. Lucas: In German, bread is 'das Brot'. Say it with me: das Brot. Luna: Das Brot. Lucas: Perfect. 'Das Brot' is neutral, so we use 'das'. Next: cheese. Cheese is 'der Käse'. Masculine. Luna: Der Käse. I love cheese too. Lucas: Great! And milk. Milk is 'die Milch'. Feminine. Luna: Die Milch. Das Brot, der Käse, die Milch. Lucas: Excellent. Now let's put them in a sentence. If you want to say 'I would like bread', you say 'Ich möchte Brot.' Let's try. Luna: Ich möchte Brot. Lucas: Perfect. 'Möchte' means 'would like'. It's very useful. Now, 'I would like cheese' — Ich möchte Käse. Luna: Ich möchte Käse. Lucas: And 'I would like milk' — Ich möchte Milch. Luna: Ich möchte Brot. Lucas: And if you also want cheese? Luna: Ich möchte Käse. Lucas: And milk too? Luna: Ich möchte Milch. Lucas: You're ready for a shopping trip! Let's do a quick review. What's bread in German? Luna: Das Brot. Lucas: Cheese? Luna: Der Käse. Lucas: Milk? Luna: Die Milch. Lucas: And how do you say 'I would like bread'? Luna: Ich möchte Brot. Lucas: Perfect. You've got it. Remember, practice makes progress. Say these phrases to yourself throughout the day. Luna: Ich möchte Brot, ich möchte Käse, ich möchte Milch.
