- 0:00Speaker 1: I'm exhausted really.
- 0:03Speaker 2: In fact, my friend Becky yesterday, who also had a
- 0:07Speaker 2: graduating senior, said, why didn't we all take Monday off
- 0:12Speaker 2: because it has been a whirlwind of graduation this weekend.
- 0:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:18Speaker 1: So, uh, and I actually just sent you another picture.
- 0:20Speaker 3: Well I'm sure glad my kids are dumb.
- 0:24Speaker 2: So, So Thursday was baccalaureate.
- 0:29Speaker 3: Wow, which, uh what does that mean again? I don't recall.
- 0:33Speaker 2: It's it's a religious ceremony associated with graduation.
- 0:39Speaker 1: It's it's like a prayer service. They did it at
- 0:42Speaker 1: the cathedral.
- 0:43Speaker 4: We did, I mean I went to public school and
- 0:45Speaker 4: we didaureate.
- 0:48Speaker 2: And the cathedral which they've they've done a lot of
- 0:52Speaker 2: renovations there.
- 0:53Speaker 1: It's just beautiful. Even if you're not Catholic. You should
- 0:56Speaker 1: go there and check it out.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Is it's beautiful even if you're not Catholic.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, it's you know, it's it's beautiful for everyone.
- 1:04Speaker 2: So that was Thursday, and we had dinner at Salton Olive,
- 1:08Speaker 2: which I hadn't been there before. It was very very
- 1:11Speaker 2: good food, walked over the cathedral head baccalaureate.
- 1:14Speaker 1: So that's that night.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Nice Friday, we had two graduation parties and another graduation.
- 1:24Speaker 1: So my nephew Declan graduated.
- 1:26Speaker 2: From eighth grade and they had a celebration for that
- 1:31Speaker 2: and the graduation which I saw very important sports and
- 1:35Speaker 2: amy there oh because they had a family member graduating.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Lots of lots of Catholic and.
- 1:42Speaker 2: As as Ed said when he was here, there's it's
- 1:44Speaker 2: hard to know when to stand up and sit down
- 1:46Speaker 2: and all.
- 1:47Speaker 5: Yeah, just follow along exactly.
- 1:50Speaker 2: And in the programs usually they will write please stand,
- 1:53Speaker 2: please sit.
- 1:54Speaker 1: They try to help people out that.
- 1:56Speaker 3: It's not so I'm too tired to uh.
- 2:00Speaker 2: So, eighth grade graduation and two parties on Friday Saturday.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Another two parties.
- 2:10Speaker 2: And these are in people's houses that are catered, that
- 2:14Speaker 2: have activities, and so you're you're competing with all these
- 2:18Speaker 2: other students that are having graduation parties. So my susans now,
- 2:25Speaker 2: just like, you know, you gotta do something different. Does
- 2:27Speaker 2: everybody get a taco truck or you know, you gotta
- 2:29Speaker 2: you gotta change it up a little bit. So my
- 2:32Speaker 2: sister Carrie and I had the party together because we
- 2:36Speaker 2: have two children.
- 2:37Speaker 1: That have been.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Have done everything together since before they were born. My
- 2:43Speaker 2: sister and I had our baby shower together because we
- 2:46Speaker 2: were both pregnant at the same time. These kids have
- 2:48Speaker 2: done soccer together, they've they they got baptized together, every
- 2:54Speaker 2: little thing. So we did their graduation party together. And
- 2:58Speaker 2: my niece wanted a mechanical bull.
- 3:02Speaker 5: At the party. It was requested.
- 3:05Speaker 2: She said, can we can we rent a mechanical bull
- 3:07Speaker 2: for the party?
- 3:08Speaker 5: Okay?
- 3:09Speaker 3: Would you make people sign waivers?
- 3:11Speaker 1: So I'll tell you all about it.
- 3:13Speaker 3: So I'm sure, glad. I don't care about social social things.
- 3:19Speaker 2: If you got x ninety six dot com slash live,
- 3:21Speaker 2: you can see Mohammed and his cousin on the mechanical bull.
- 3:26Speaker 2: And we were the only mechanical bull party out of
- 3:28Speaker 2: all the graduation parties, really were the only one.
- 3:33Speaker 4: I wonder how many mechanical bulls are available for well,
- 3:36Speaker 4: I looked because I.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Googled mechanical bull rentaled near me, and there are a
- 3:41Speaker 2: few of them. This one's called Eddie's wild Ride, and
- 3:48Speaker 2: apparently they have. Grandpa's grandpa decided to get a mechanical
- 3:54Speaker 2: bull for his grandson because his grandson wanted to learn
- 3:56Speaker 2: how to ride a mechanical bull. And well that's logical, yeah,
- 4:00Speaker 2: but you know they don't use it all the time,
- 4:03Speaker 2: so may as well make some money with it when
- 4:05Speaker 2: when the grandson isn't practicing. So they rented out. And yes,
- 4:10Speaker 2: you do have to sign waivers for it.
- 4:15Speaker 1: So if you go to mind, if you go to
- 4:19Speaker 1: x n I six dot com.
- 4:21Speaker 3: That's making me sick just to watch it.
- 4:23Speaker 1: You can you can see me writing mechanical Yeah, that's
- 4:30Speaker 1: all right. Uh. The kids loved it. They had a ball.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Aren't you proud of me for getting on there and
- 4:37Speaker 1: doing it?
- 4:38Speaker 3: I don't, I don't. I really am so glad.
- 4:41Speaker 4: I don't feel any any need to compete socially with anybody.
- 4:45Speaker 1: I'm not competing socially. The hardest part about.
- 4:49Speaker 2: The mechanical bullet getting on it?
- 4:52Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I think, Yeah, how do you do? Is
- 4:54Speaker 3: there like a stool?
- 4:55Speaker 2: And I am grateful for my mom took this video
- 4:59Speaker 2: and I am grateful that she did not uh send
- 5:02Speaker 2: me the part of the film where I was trying
- 5:05Speaker 2: to wrestle myself phone.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Oh, I'd like to see you try and get off well.
- 5:10Speaker 2: And so they asked me, do you want to be
- 5:12Speaker 2: thrown off or do you want me to stop it?
- 5:14Speaker 1: I said, please stop it.
- 5:16Speaker 3: I don't want to be because it can go. It
- 5:18Speaker 3: can go? What much harsh?
- 5:19Speaker 1: Oh yeah, they were, they were going, I was.
- 5:22Speaker 5: Going to ask if this, if you went any higher
- 5:25Speaker 5: up on the setting.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Now, so I'm higher than some other people did, but
- 5:30Speaker 2: I am not. I am not on the highest setting
- 5:34Speaker 2: of it. But I was pretty proud of myself.
- 5:36Speaker 1: I didn't fall off. I stayed on eight seconds, just
- 5:41Speaker 1: like the pros.
- 5:42Speaker 5: Just like the Yeah, exactly, just like the pros.
- 5:46Speaker 6: You're going to retire this radio thing and become a
- 5:49Speaker 6: become a professional bull riders bull rider.
- 5:52Speaker 2: We also had this pizza truck. They're called Dang Brothers.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Pizza Dang d A n G.
- 5:59Speaker 2: And they have a fire truck that is I don't
- 6:03Speaker 2: have a picture of that.
- 6:04Speaker 1: They have a fire truck that's converted into a pizza oven.
- 6:08Speaker 2: So they pull up in this fire truck and they
- 6:12Speaker 2: bake pizzas in a wood like.
- 6:14Speaker 1: They have stacks of wood.
- 6:15Speaker 2: They have a wood burning pizza stove in the fire truck,
- 6:19Speaker 2: which seems weird that you're making fires in.
- 6:21Speaker 1: A pizza truck a fire truck, but it was delicious.
- 6:25Speaker 2: But before the party, my sister called me and she said,
- 6:28Speaker 2: we have a problem. I said, what's the problem, and
- 6:30Speaker 2: she said, your son posted on snapchat the party details.
- 6:35Speaker 1: And she was worried that, you know, everybody.
- 6:38Speaker 4: In the neighborhood, everybody in the neighborhood is going to
- 6:41Speaker 4: come for pizza the address.
- 6:44Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean it was. It was well.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Attended, but I mean, I mean people didn't just no,
- 6:52Speaker 2: it wasn't strangers, it was, but.
- 6:56Speaker 1: It rained.
- 6:58Speaker 2: We were outside, and you know, we have beautiful weather
- 7:01Speaker 2: the whole time, you know, for weeks and weeks, and
- 7:04Speaker 2: then the one day you want to have a mechanical
- 7:07Speaker 2: bull graduation party, it rains.
- 7:09Speaker 1: But it was. It was.
- 7:10Speaker 2: It was clear for part of it. But I am exhausted.
- 7:16Speaker 2: I have not slept much the last few days. I
- 7:19Speaker 2: mean it's been It's been super fun. And then after
- 7:22Speaker 2: this party, all the kids went to boondocks. They rent
- 7:25Speaker 2: out boon Docks and close it down for the night,
- 7:27Speaker 2: and they stay all night at boondocks.
- 7:29Speaker 3: Really, yes, they stay all night.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:34Speaker 2: And they were asking for chaperones for that, and I'm like,
- 7:37Speaker 2: I can't think of anything I would like to do
- 7:39Speaker 2: less than chaperone. Yeah, A bunch of high school graduates
- 7:44Speaker 2: all night at boondocks so.
- 7:46Speaker 1: I hats off to whoever the parents are that did that.
- 7:49Speaker 4: You know, when I was a kid graduating from high school,
- 7:52Speaker 4: I wouldn't want it.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Wouldn't have wanted to do any of.
- 7:54Speaker 1: That mechanical bull, none of that.
- 7:57Speaker 3: None of that.
- 7:58Speaker 4: I would not I would not have wanted to have
- 8:00Speaker 4: anything to do with any of that. If somebody had said,
- 8:02Speaker 4: here's what we could do for your graduation, which they didn't.
- 8:06Speaker 4: You know, they gave they gave me a polaroid camera
- 8:08Speaker 4: and said, I'm glad you graduated.
- 8:10Speaker 3: But I mean, you know you want to do this?
- 8:12Speaker 3: You want to No, No, I don't. What do you
- 8:14Speaker 3: want to do?
- 8:15Speaker 4: Well, I'd like to get a bottle of wine and
- 8:18Speaker 4: hang out with my girlfriend, which is what I did,
- 8:21Speaker 4: a bottle of wine, and yeah, for high school graduation.
- 8:25Speaker 6: Because we've got one of my nephews is graduating this weekend,
- 8:29Speaker 6: and there was some debate as to whether there was
- 8:31Speaker 6: going to be a party or something, and so Sue
- 8:37Speaker 6: asked me, did your mom do anything for you for graduation?
- 8:41Speaker 5: She bought me a sweater vest.
- 8:42Speaker 3: See, there you go.
- 8:44Speaker 5: That was it, hoping that I would wear it to church.
- 8:47Speaker 5: You know, that was the That was the ploy.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Maybe it's a Catholic thing because when I graduated from
- 8:56Speaker 2: Catholic school, this was back in the eighties, we had
- 9:01Speaker 2: a party with the parents and it was a drinking
- 9:05Speaker 2: party for the parents with the parents, like like they
- 9:10Speaker 2: had a beer bong there that kids were doing with
- 9:13Speaker 2: their parents, which you.
- 9:14Speaker 3: Drink ale our good liquor?
- 9:15Speaker 2: Are you a big mulchair, which to me now is crazy,
- 9:20Speaker 2: Like we had alcohol at this party, but we had
- 9:22Speaker 2: it behind a table, and we had people manning the
- 9:25Speaker 2: table to make sure adults were getting the drink and
- 9:28Speaker 2: the kids weren't getting it. I can't fathom like hosting
- 9:32Speaker 2: a party like I attended a graduation where it was
- 9:36Speaker 2: encouraged and what.
- 9:37Speaker 4: I used to I used to drink with one of
- 9:39Speaker 4: my high school girlfriend's mothers. Like I'd go to her house,
- 9:45Speaker 4: my girlfriend's house, and her mother would say, oh, Billy,
- 9:48Speaker 4: it's nice to see you. Would you like some scotch?
- 9:51Speaker 4: And I'd sit down and drink scotch with her mother.
- 9:53Speaker 3: I did.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Kid's a lot more good to learn how to handle
- 9:56Speaker 2: a bottle of liquor instead of an algebra problem.
- 9:58Speaker 4: Kerry and I are graduated high school graduation. This is
- 10:02Speaker 4: we got the kind of graduation, uh, presence and party
- 10:06Speaker 4: that that the poor people get. I got a camera.
- 10:10Speaker 4: They gave me a camera. Wow, I got a sweater
- 10:14Speaker 4: a little better than a sweater basket. Yeah, I was,
- 10:18Speaker 4: and they kept telling me, we've got you a really
- 10:20Speaker 4: nice graduation. I thought it was a car, and I thought,
- 10:22Speaker 4: I thought, did they maybe they got me a car?
- 10:26Speaker 1: No, did you ever know anybody they got a car graduation?
- 10:30Speaker 4: Oh?
- 10:30Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, there were there were rich kids in my school.
- 10:33Speaker 4: You know. They either got the car and graduation or
- 10:36Speaker 4: when they got back for their from their mission.
- 10:39Speaker 6: Now see, my my friend Brandon was promised a car
- 10:41Speaker 6: when he got back from his mission. Go on the mission.
- 10:43Speaker 6: We'll get your car when you get back. Well, while
- 10:45Speaker 6: he was gone, the Derry went bankrupt. Sorry he didn't.
- 10:51Speaker 3: He didn't get a car. No Camaro for you.
- 10:54Speaker 6: He immediately became an atheist. It was the damnedest thing
- 10:57Speaker 6: I've ever seen.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Somebody says, did Gina pay for Catholic school? Are you
- 11:00Speaker 2: asking if I got a voucher?
- 11:02Speaker 6: No?
- 11:02Speaker 1: I did not get a voucher. I paid. Not only
- 11:05Speaker 1: did I pay.
- 11:05Speaker 2: For Catholic school, I could have gotten a discount. The
- 11:08Speaker 2: Catholic discount, and I didn't.
- 11:10Speaker 5: The Catholic Why didn't you.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Because I think that's for people that have a harder
- 11:16Speaker 2: time affording it, and I didn't, So I paid full
- 11:18Speaker 2: I paid full Catholic price. And when I went to
- 11:22Speaker 2: Catholic school, I worked at a part of my tuition
- 11:26Speaker 2: and Mary Claire worked at the school.
- 11:28Speaker 1: That's how we did that.
- 11:29Speaker 5: So the Catholic markup, yeah,
