- 0:13Speaker 1: Podcast Network. I am Chad Millman of the Action Network.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Today I'm joined as always by my co host, my companion,
- 0:21Speaker 1: my compadre, my BFF, professional better Simon Hunter ellosim.
- 0:27Speaker 2: In Chad, how are we doing, dude?
- 0:31Speaker 1: We got a lot to talk about. Because they've started
- 0:34Speaker 1: posting Rookie of the Year odds in the NFL. There's
- 0:38Speaker 1: already some Saquon Barkley props up. You and I are
- 0:43Speaker 1: both loving the NBA Playoffs, which we are going to
- 0:47Speaker 1: talk about because my favorite betting theory that I have
- 0:52Speaker 1: written about since I lived in New Jersey, going back
- 0:56Speaker 1: almost twenty years, the zig zag theory is in play
- 1:02Speaker 1: and prices are moving off of the Nix, Celtics and
- 1:06Speaker 1: thunder Nuggets. We haven't even gotten to the other games yet.
- 1:10Speaker 1: As you know, we also hear at the Favorites receive
- 1:13Speaker 1: loads of listener feedback and questions throughout the year. So
- 1:18Speaker 1: like we did back in March, we're going to go
- 1:21Speaker 1: through some of your very best questions. Let me remind
- 1:26Speaker 1: everybody at Real Chad Melman, the YouTube page is live.
- 1:33Speaker 1: We're gonna be throwing up clips from the show, not
- 1:36Speaker 1: necessarily the ones that we throw up on Action Network YouTube.
- 1:40Speaker 1: We're gonna have opinions on breaking news. We're gonna have
- 1:43Speaker 1: stories from the book. I'm reporting about old school gambling,
- 1:47Speaker 1: new school gambling, all the good, good stuff from the
- 1:51Speaker 1: betting world. Check it out. Subscribe like at real Chad Milman.
- 1:58Speaker 1: All right, Simon, NBA plaffs zig zag theory is in
- 2:05Speaker 1: full effect. There's so much to unpack from last night.
- 2:10Speaker 1: The Celtics blowing a twenty point lead to the Knicks,
- 2:14Speaker 1: the Nuggets coming from eleven down with four minutes left,
- 2:17Speaker 1: last second shot by Aaron Gordon to beat the Thunder.
- 2:19Speaker 1: The number one seeds in three of the four series
- 2:23Speaker 1: now no longer have or the top seeds in three
- 2:26Speaker 1: of the four series. Celtics, Thunder Calves all lost home
- 2:32Speaker 1: court advantage, Nuggets Wolves still be played. I'm loving the
- 2:38Speaker 1: NBA plass. You know I love the NBA. I'm an
- 2:40Speaker 1: avid watcher. I think I've watched just about every game
- 2:43Speaker 1: I can stay up for, including those that I can't
- 2:46Speaker 1: even tremendous.
- 2:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I think Evan had an amazing tweet about it
- 2:52Speaker 3: that it was the first time two teams in the
- 2:54Speaker 3: NBA that were plus nine dogs both won outright on
- 2:57Speaker 3: the same day in twenty five years, which is just
- 3:01Speaker 3: even if you're not an NBA fan, you're gonna be
- 3:03Speaker 3: hearing about the NBA today because that's what people are
- 3:05Speaker 3: gonna be talking about because that's just something so rare,
- 3:07Speaker 3: and people watching it know how rare it is, because
- 3:10Speaker 3: it's like, Okay, both those teams were kind of in
- 3:12Speaker 3: bad spots, playing teams that have been hyped up that
- 3:15Speaker 3: are very young, and the Grizzly Vets one. And that's
- 3:18Speaker 3: what's so fun about the NBA, right It's like you think,
- 3:21Speaker 3: these young teams, like you know, Oklahoma City getting all
- 3:23Speaker 3: this love, isn't the team, but.
- 3:25Speaker 2: You can't, you can't tap into the championship pedigree.
- 3:28Speaker 3: So yeah, the the Knicks Boston series right now, Chad's
- 3:32Speaker 3: is the probably the highest talked about series that the betters,
- 3:35Speaker 3: So I would say the masses the chalk are all
- 3:40Speaker 3: going to go heavy now on this Boston series. But
- 3:43Speaker 3: surprisingly professional betters, a lot of guys I respect, are
- 3:46Speaker 3: doing the same thing. Like it's moved now from obviously
- 3:49Speaker 3: minus nine hundred to them being minus two forty minus
- 3:52Speaker 3: two fifty a lot of books, so I get why
- 3:55Speaker 3: they're doing it, Like that's a lot of value to
- 3:57Speaker 3: move off one game in historically bad shooting night. So
- 4:00Speaker 3: it's it pains me to root for Boston. But when
- 4:03Speaker 3: there's money involved, Chad, we root for the money. So yeah,
- 4:05Speaker 3: I'm gonna take a position on Boston in the series
- 4:07Speaker 3: price but Duch just following the smart money the guys
- 4:10Speaker 3: I respect, But deep down I think we're all kind
- 4:13Speaker 3: of rooting for this next team.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Right, this is a really fun story.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm always conflicted. Like I love watching Jalen Bronson,
- 4:20Speaker 1: I love watching Josh Hard. I've got a soft spot
- 4:23Speaker 1: for Tibbs, for Tom Tinodeou just because he's from New Britain,
- 4:29Speaker 1: which is, you know, twenty minutes from where I live
- 4:31Speaker 1: in Central Connecticut. He coached the Bulls and like got
- 4:35Speaker 1: him back to respectability after that era, that post Jordan,
- 4:40Speaker 1: post Pippin era with Derek Rose, with Joe Kim Noah,
- 4:45Speaker 1: like with lu Al Dang. That was a really fun
- 4:48Speaker 1: era and Tibbs was great for that team and had
- 4:52Speaker 1: him playing really well and got him to the playoffs
- 4:54Speaker 1: and made them contenders. So and he's just so gruff
- 4:57Speaker 1: and miserable looking. I love watching him when they were
- 5:00Speaker 1: last night by twenty, like I've never actually, I've watched
- 5:04Speaker 1: a lot of Knicks games, Bulls games with Thibodeaux as
- 5:09Speaker 1: the head coach, and the fact that at one point
- 5:12Speaker 1: he just threw up his arms after they were down twenty,
- 5:14Speaker 1: and I'm like, I've never seen the guy actually look
- 5:18Speaker 1: exasperated because they were losing. I've seen him look exasperated
- 5:22Speaker 1: because they weren't playing good defense, or because they did
- 5:25Speaker 1: something stupid, and the fact they turned that around. Look,
- 5:29Speaker 1: I think the Celtics lost that game as much as
- 5:31Speaker 1: the Knicks won that game. And as I was watching
- 5:35Speaker 1: it last night, it's infuriating to watch it, and you
- 5:38Speaker 1: could do a freeze frame of almost every single time
- 5:42Speaker 1: the Celtics were down the court, and it's five guys
- 5:44Speaker 1: standing outside the three point line, one guy trying to
- 5:48Speaker 1: beat another guy off the dribble in a mismatch, and
- 5:51Speaker 1: then taking a step back three and banging it off
- 5:54Speaker 1: the back of the iron. They had one play where
- 5:56Speaker 1: Drew Holliday cut to the basket, Tatum hit him, he
- 6:01Speaker 1: got a layup that that was like the only time
- 6:05Speaker 1: Joe Miszula would stand on the sideline and they'd show
- 6:08Speaker 1: him like doing his hand gestures and finger gestures like
- 6:10Speaker 1: he's calling a play. What fucking player are you calling?
- 6:14Speaker 1: Everybody knows the only play is we're gonna shoot a
- 6:16Speaker 1: step back three after dribbling the clock down to five
- 6:19Speaker 1: seconds left in the twenty four second clock. It just
- 6:22Speaker 1: makes no sense to me. It was actually infuriating to watch,
- 6:26Speaker 1: and I don't even like the Celtics. It was just
- 6:29Speaker 1: so frustrating.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Yeah, but it's be interesting if they actually overadjust or
- 6:34Speaker 3: they didn't stay the course because they had a lot
- 6:37Speaker 3: of open threes. Honestly, watching that game, so it's like,
- 6:40Speaker 3: you know, Dad's basketball right some nights it's just not
- 6:42Speaker 3: doesn't bounce your way. And that's what it felt like
- 6:44Speaker 3: to me watching the game. It feels like Boston is
- 6:47Speaker 3: way superior in many ways compared to the Knicks.
- 6:49Speaker 2: So once again, I bet it. I bet Boston.
- 6:53Speaker 3: But like, deep down, I'm hoping what you're saying is true, Chad,
- 6:56Speaker 3: that this is like just one of those NBA series
- 6:59Speaker 3: where the Knicks just staying at every game and when
- 7:02Speaker 3: it comes down to at the end of the game.
- 7:03Speaker 3: We see it every time teams, some certainties get tight,
- 7:06Speaker 3: other players step up, and you know, like you said,
- 7:09Speaker 3: it feels like that momentum right now is on the
- 7:11Speaker 3: knick side.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Well, look, the I mentioned in the intro, the zig
- 7:17Speaker 1: zag theory, which is one of my favorite betting phrases,
- 7:22Speaker 1: you know, as someone who loves the romanticism of the
- 7:26Speaker 1: language and the Damon runyanesque phrases of betting, zig zag
- 7:32Speaker 1: is as good as it gets. And I remember when
- 7:34Speaker 1: I was first introduced to the idea, you know, honestly
- 7:38Speaker 1: twenty years ago. I remember Bob Scuccy, you know, Scooch,
- 7:43Speaker 1: Simon's predecessor as co host of the podcast UH subject
- 7:49Speaker 1: of the Odds, former bookmaker at the Start US now
- 7:52Speaker 1: overseeing BOYD Gaming bookmaking operations. He told me about the
- 7:58Speaker 1: zig zag theory during the NBA playoff one year and
- 8:01Speaker 1: I was completely taken with it. Essentially, the theory says,
- 8:06Speaker 1: you bet on the team that lost the night before
- 8:11Speaker 1: or the game before in an NBA playoff series. The
- 8:14Speaker 1: trick has always been that bookmakers know this, They know
- 8:18Speaker 1: professional betters are going to do this, so even if
- 8:22Speaker 1: the team lost, they would shade the line in their direction.
- 8:27Speaker 1: So you weren't really getting any value as a better
- 8:31Speaker 1: because the bookmakers knew everybody who was a professional is
- 8:33Speaker 1: going to pile in on the team that had just
- 8:36Speaker 1: lost the game. So the Celtics now, and in this
- 8:40Speaker 1: by the way, in the first round, the NBA's zigzag theory,
- 8:46Speaker 1: which was basically teams coming off a straight up loss
- 8:50Speaker 1: in the first round, finished twenty three to twelve against
- 8:54Speaker 1: the spread in their next game. That is the best
- 8:57Speaker 1: mark for any opening round in the past twenty years.
- 9:02Speaker 1: So now we look at this game with the Celtics
- 9:04Speaker 1: and the Knicks, and also the Thunder and the Nuggets.
- 9:08Speaker 1: The Celtics opened at nine. That number immediately got bet up,
- 9:15Speaker 1: so the bookmakers couldn't shade it enough.
- 9:20Speaker 2: The Calves and Pacers, ever got bet up as well, and.
- 9:22Speaker 1: The Calves and Pacers got bat and the Nuggets and
- 9:23Speaker 1: the Thunder got bet up. I don't think the Celtics
- 9:27Speaker 1: will change one bit of their strategy because this is
- 9:31Speaker 1: what they've done all years. Shoot literally fifty three pointers
- 9:35Speaker 1: a game, and they're going to look and say, we
- 9:38Speaker 1: make five of these three pointers. We're not having this conversation.
- 9:43Speaker 1: They're going to rationalize and justify. I still might take
- 9:49Speaker 1: the Celtics in minus ten.
- 9:53Speaker 2: I mean, I'm with you.
- 9:54Speaker 3: It's it's it's tempting because you just know it's a
- 9:58Speaker 3: game in which you just said, if they just make
- 10:00Speaker 3: one basket, right, that was the difference in that game.
- 10:03Speaker 2: And that's why I.
- 10:04Speaker 3: Love NBA in so many ways, where it's this long
- 10:07Speaker 3: ass game where it always comes down to one or
- 10:08Speaker 3: two plays that decide the entire thing.
- 10:11Speaker 2: That's great.
- 10:14Speaker 1: If they had drawn up one freaking play at the
- 10:17Speaker 1: end of overtime or the end of regulation, they might
- 10:20Speaker 1: have won that game. That was a big difference. Like
- 10:23Speaker 1: Tibbs drew up a brilliant play on the out of
- 10:27Speaker 1: bounds to get Jalen Brunt in the ball and a
- 10:29Speaker 1: wide open look. The Celtics couldn't get a shot off
- 10:33Speaker 1: at the end of regulation and then their only option
- 10:37Speaker 1: was a lob, a cross court lob that Mikail Bridge
- 10:40Speaker 1: is basically bullyball of Jalen Brown and got the ball
- 10:45Speaker 1: and ended the game. It was It was a coaching
- 10:48Speaker 1: blood bath for the next and in addition to Jalen
- 10:51Speaker 1: Brunson just being mister Clash. It was great, totally great,
- 10:56Speaker 1: loved it. Can't wait for the playoffs to continue. Right,
- 11:00Speaker 1: here's the question. We're going to get into the questions
- 11:02Speaker 1: a little bit. We've talked about this a lot on
- 11:05Speaker 1: the podcast so far. Home field advantage has never been
- 11:09Speaker 1: lower in the NFL. If you owned an NFL team, Simon,
- 11:14Speaker 1: would you value home field advantage? That's the first question
- 11:18Speaker 1: I think yes or no, Yes, okay, you would. What
- 11:22Speaker 1: steps would you take to take full advantage to optimize
- 11:30Speaker 1: home field advantage?
- 11:32Speaker 3: I mean, there's a lot of ways you can attack it,
- 11:34Speaker 3: but the biggest one to me will always be attacking
- 11:37Speaker 3: what the strength is of your home field with the
- 11:39Speaker 3: players are looking at and bringing in and you know,
- 11:43Speaker 3: you can say what you want about why the Bills
- 11:45Speaker 3: drafted Josh Allen from Wyoming, but a lot of the
- 11:49Speaker 3: stuff you heard is he's big, like Ben Roethlisberger at
- 11:52Speaker 3: big hands. He was used to playing out in the
- 11:55Speaker 3: elements like he did in college, did well planing out
- 11:58Speaker 3: in those type elements, and the Bill's mindset was, we're
- 12:01Speaker 3: bringing him in here because he kind of fits what
- 12:03Speaker 3: we need in this the location we play at, like
- 12:05Speaker 3: we need a guy who can throw through these strong
- 12:08Speaker 3: wins late in the year. And you know, holds on
- 12:11Speaker 3: the ball and bad element, bad weather, and is big
- 12:13Speaker 3: and strong, just like Ben Roethlisberger was.
- 12:16Speaker 2: So you know, it's certain teams attack it. You know.
- 12:19Speaker 3: Another one that jumps out to me will always be
- 12:21Speaker 3: Drew Brees bringing him down to the Saints in New Orleans.
- 12:24Speaker 3: Like he is the perfect type of quarterback to play indoors, right,
- 12:27Speaker 3: not the strongest arm when there's no win, no type
- 12:30Speaker 3: of rain, anything like that, and he's indoors. He's perfect
- 12:32Speaker 3: pain manning. Think about those years of the Colts.
- 12:35Speaker 2: It was. It was perfect.
- 12:36Speaker 3: Like he hated playing outdoors, playing with the wet ball.
- 12:39Speaker 3: So yeah, I just think it's interesting. There's certain teams
- 12:42Speaker 3: that do adjust to and attack it in different ways
- 12:44Speaker 3: where you know, my view of it is, I agree
- 12:47Speaker 3: with that home field's dying in many ways, and there's
- 12:50Speaker 3: certain teams though that it feels like it's not right.
- 12:53Speaker 3: I feel like the Eagles have an advantage at playing
- 12:55Speaker 3: at home. I feel like the Lions had an advantage
- 12:57Speaker 3: of plane at home. There's certain teams that I do
- 13:00Speaker 3: think that does matter to you where I think we
- 13:02Speaker 3: both agree, right, Chad, the Rams and the Chargers, do
- 13:05Speaker 3: they really have any type of home field.
- 13:07Speaker 2: No.
- 13:07Speaker 3: So I do agree with a lot of this stuff
- 13:09Speaker 3: that there's some certain teams that, yeah, there is literally zero.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Difference playing on the home or on the road for
- 13:15Speaker 2: those teams.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Well, look, I feel like there's strategic value that you're
- 13:20Speaker 1: talking about, and that's to me what makes the real difference,
- 13:24Speaker 1: the ability to control your crowd to play to your advantage.
- 13:28Speaker 1: The Saints did it with Drew Brees. Peyton Manning did
- 13:31Speaker 1: it with the Colts. The stadium would be so quiet
- 13:36Speaker 1: when they were on offense. You could hear in the
- 13:39Speaker 1: press box. Peyton Manning called the plays right because he understood,
- 13:45Speaker 1: and the crowd understood, like they were very knowledgeable football fans.
- 13:50Speaker 1: They had been trained. And I think that you cannot
- 13:55Speaker 1: intimidate football players with noise anymore. I would say, you know,
- 14:02Speaker 1: create the kind of environment that Steve Balmer has created
- 14:06Speaker 1: at the new Stadium arena that the Clippers play at,
- 14:10Speaker 1: because he's got all the fans that are basically standing
- 14:13Speaker 1: the whole time. But that's real intimate and you're in
- 14:17Speaker 1: the player's grill while they're shooting free throws. I don't
- 14:22Speaker 1: think you're going to be able to do that in
- 14:24Speaker 1: a football environment if you turn it into something that
- 14:27Speaker 1: is akin to soccer. You go to the stadiums in
- 14:30Speaker 1: the EPL, and you know, you've got the flags that unfurl,
- 14:34Speaker 1: that are going from top of the stadium to bottom
- 14:38Speaker 1: of the stadium, and people are standing the whole time. Hey,
- 14:40Speaker 1: you're never going to get Americans to do that, like
- 14:43Speaker 1: stand the entire time. There's too much sitting, there's too
- 14:47Speaker 1: much dead time, Like, there's not enough sort of discipline
- 14:53Speaker 1: to get an entire stadium to do what they do
- 14:56Speaker 1: in the EPL. But I also think football players just
- 15:00Speaker 1: aren't going to be intimidated by that. I guess just
- 15:02Speaker 1: not part of the culture. They're not going to care.
- 15:05Speaker 1: It's not going to matter.
- 15:07Speaker 2: They're not.
- 15:07Speaker 3: I mean, you hear more players get intimidated by the
- 15:09Speaker 3: moment then more so than the stadium.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Right, they talk about that a lot.
- 15:13Speaker 3: And yeah, like you know, I don't think anyone go
- 15:17Speaker 3: when Dallas built that new stadium. I don't think anyone
- 15:19Speaker 3: went down there when they were all struck, right, they
- 15:21Speaker 3: weren't not playing well because they had a bigger screen
- 15:23Speaker 3: in the middle of the field to look up at
- 15:25Speaker 3: jumbo tron.
- 15:26Speaker 2: So I'm with you Chad.
- 15:27Speaker 3: It's times have changed though, but like I still do
- 15:30Speaker 3: think there is advantage to certain teams where you know,
- 15:34Speaker 3: Buffalo build an indoor stadium, it just feels like it's sacrilege.
- 15:37Speaker 3: Like I just thinking of the games we've had of
- 15:40Speaker 3: them having these January games or these late December games
- 15:44Speaker 3: up in Buffalo. My favorite game ever will always be
- 15:46Speaker 3: that Patriots game where Belichick ran the ball fifty times.
- 15:50Speaker 3: I think Mac Jones threw it twice, and it was just, yeah,
- 15:53Speaker 3: I hope they're not building interstateum matter. I hope you're right.
- 15:56Speaker 3: It's just it just seems like every day I hear
- 15:58Speaker 3: different stories about what's going on Buffalo. Just to me,
- 16:00Speaker 3: Buffalo outdoors in the cold, I love everything about it.
- 16:04Speaker 3: It's just one of my favorite football venues. That And
- 16:06Speaker 3: you know, you have the same thing with the Bears.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Like the Bears never having a guy throw for over
- 16:10Speaker 3: four thousand yards has a lot to do with their
- 16:13Speaker 3: stadium and just the way the location of it is
- 16:16Speaker 3: where their team, their team that's never drafted that big
- 16:18Speaker 3: arm quarterback, they always just lent it to. We're a
- 16:21Speaker 3: running back first organization. We've been that way for a
- 16:24Speaker 3: whole history because where we play, so a lot of
- 16:26Speaker 3: teams do lean into what they've been historically.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Yesterday, I was procrastinating and so I went on TikTok,
- 16:34Speaker 1: which is what I like to do. And in my
- 16:38Speaker 1: TikTok feed, maybe the longest TikTok I've ever seen was
- 16:44Speaker 1: a rebroadcast basically of past summer All and John Madden
- 16:51Speaker 1: calling the first round playoff game, the first playoff game
- 16:56Speaker 1: between the in nineteen eighty five seasons. So it was
- 16:59Speaker 1: January nineteen eighty six between the Bears and the Giants,
- 17:02Speaker 1: and it was about twenty below at Soldier Field that day.
- 17:07Speaker 1: I was at the game. It was like January fifth,
- 17:10Speaker 1: nineteen eighty six, and it was gloryus. How much fun
- 17:18Speaker 1: it was. And like in the broadcast, Brett Musburger is
- 17:23Speaker 1: opening it and talking about the weather and showing the
- 17:30Speaker 1: scoreboard saying, don't let frost bite bite. You go to
- 17:35Speaker 1: these stations if you feel uncomfortable for relief. And I
- 17:41Speaker 1: remember being bundled up. I remember like where I was sitting.
- 17:43Speaker 1: I remember the plays that were happening in front of me.
- 17:46Speaker 1: It was magical, totally totally magical. That's the advantage, like
- 17:52Speaker 1: handling the elements. I don't think there's anything a crowd
- 17:54Speaker 1: can do. I think it's about strategically drafting, right. I
- 17:57Speaker 1: think it's about how a quarterback can control the crowd.
- 18:00Speaker 1: And I think it's about the elements. Those are the things.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Those are the things I would try to build into
- 18:03Speaker 1: home field advantage. Agree all right, Offensive and rookie Offensive
- 18:09Speaker 1: and defensive Rookie of the Year markets are up at FanDuel.
- 18:13Speaker 1: At least, I'm going to lift a couple of them
- 18:18Speaker 1: for you. Offense Ashton Gent plus two seventy, cam Ward
- 18:24Speaker 1: plus three eighty, Travis Hunter plus seven fifty. I have
- 18:29Speaker 1: an immediate opinion.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I've only made two bets.
- 18:33Speaker 3: I immediately you obviously know I love cam like board,
- 18:36Speaker 3: I'm all about Tennessee.
- 18:38Speaker 2: I grabbed that one immediately.
- 18:39Speaker 3: I just think he should be the odds on favorite
- 18:41Speaker 3: in my opinion. The next one might check a little bit.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Hampton. I grabbed him for the Chargers. I just love
- 18:47Speaker 2: I love the spot.
- 18:48Speaker 3: The opportunity, and the fact that you know it's it's
- 18:51Speaker 3: never the one that everyone thinks is coming right. There's
- 18:53Speaker 3: always sometimes the outside guy, and this feels like a
- 18:57Speaker 3: nice spot for him. And our run first type of
- 19:00Speaker 3: offense that you know, if he hits this, give me
- 19:03Speaker 3: an absolute mega player for them going forward.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Like he just seems like it's a horriball guy. He's
- 19:08Speaker 2: going to try.
- 19:09Speaker 3: To feed this running back, even though I know they
- 19:10Speaker 3: have other guys there. The fact they took him in
- 19:13Speaker 3: the first round, that pick that they did. Historically guy's
- 19:16Speaker 3: taking the first round are usually the guy coming right out.
- 19:19Speaker 2: So I like that. I like that value at fourteen
- 19:22Speaker 2: to one.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, look, it makes sense. It's what Harbaugh
- 19:25Speaker 1: is trying to build in Los Angeles with that team.
- 19:31Speaker 1: I saw this great clip the other day. I think
- 19:33Speaker 1: it might have been on Rich Eisen show. Harbut said
- 19:36Speaker 1: he shot up in the middle of the night and
- 19:40Speaker 1: said to himself, I've got to get Justin Herbert into
- 19:44Speaker 1: the Hall of Fame. He said, If I get Justin
- 19:47Speaker 1: Herbert into the Hall of Fame, then everything we were
- 19:50Speaker 1: hoping to do we did. If he's going to get
- 19:53Speaker 1: into the Hall of Fame, he's probably got to win
- 19:54Speaker 1: a couple of Super Bowls. If we're going to win
- 19:56Speaker 1: super Bowls, we've got to build a team like X,
- 19:58Speaker 1: Y and Z right and so, so he is thinking
- 20:01Speaker 1: so big picture and so intensely about justin Herbert. He's
- 20:05Speaker 1: waking up in the middle of the night to get
- 20:09Speaker 1: this guy into the Hall of Fame. I think you're
- 20:11Speaker 1: not wrong. It starts with running a much better offense
- 20:16Speaker 1: and controlling the ball and not putting in the position
- 20:19Speaker 1: where he has to be scrambling at the end of
- 20:21Speaker 1: a game with a shitty offensive line and trying to
- 20:24Speaker 1: get the ball downfield. But I immediately saw cam Warden
- 20:28Speaker 1: and was like, if he's not the shortest ohs, then
- 20:32Speaker 1: I'm betting him.
- 20:34Speaker 2: And I also go back to the Herbert point.
- 20:36Speaker 3: I think Harville just needs to get that first playoff
- 20:38Speaker 3: win then then maybe start thinking getting the.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Herbert to the Hall of Fame.
- 20:42Speaker 3: All right, that's that's pretty insane that Herbert Herbert Hall
- 20:45Speaker 3: of Fame talk. The guys in year five or six
- 20:47Speaker 3: doesn't have a playoff win yet. But yeah, for me, Chad,
- 20:50Speaker 3: I'm with the award. It just feels like the easy
- 20:53Speaker 3: bet right now. Right this is such a QB award,
- 20:56Speaker 3: like for anyone else to get it, it really has
- 20:59Speaker 3: to be a down year for the Cobs and I
- 21:02Speaker 3: just like we talked about why I love Tennessee at
- 21:04Speaker 3: plus eight hundred eight to one to win their division.
- 21:07Speaker 3: It's like a week division on a team that has
- 21:10Speaker 3: a pretty good defense, that has weapons offense, The offensive
- 21:13Speaker 3: line improved every week last year. It's it's all there.
- 21:17Speaker 3: If cam wor can come in and just take that
- 21:19Speaker 3: next step. Like we've seen these you know, we've seen
- 21:22Speaker 3: CJ come out and do it. We saw Jane Daniels
- 21:24Speaker 3: do it. I get it, like we're not gonna have
- 21:25Speaker 3: one of these guys every year. But this just lines
- 21:28Speaker 3: up with cam Ward here where it's like he's falling
- 21:29Speaker 3: into a nice spot if he's comfortable, Like you just said,
- 21:33Speaker 3: this is this feels like crazy odds. So I really
- 21:36Speaker 3: liked that we're getting him not as number one, it's
- 21:38Speaker 3: the number two in the value.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I actually started to like the idea of Tennessee
- 21:46Speaker 1: a little bit more. Yeah, to win that division.
- 21:49Speaker 2: Look at that division.
- 21:50Speaker 1: But it also lines up. You know, it's funny. Someone
- 21:53Speaker 1: commented in the YouTube comments on at Route Real Chad
- 21:56Speaker 1: moment at Real Chad, No.
- 21:59Speaker 2: It's a lace. You're going to YouTube comments.
- 22:02Speaker 1: Well, you know what I get like alerts when people comment,
- 22:05Speaker 1: And so I looked at it, but they were they
- 22:07Speaker 1: were coming after us because we said we liked the
- 22:10Speaker 1: Patriots as value to win the AFC East. And of course,
- 22:15Speaker 1: like it might have been Matt Mitchell like just coming
- 22:18Speaker 1: after me.
- 22:18Speaker 2: But you know, I said the top, the Bills deserve
- 22:21Speaker 2: to be a big, huge favorite, that they're by far
- 22:23Speaker 2: the best team in that division.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Yeah, the Bills, you know, defensive line has improved, whatever
- 22:27Speaker 1: it was. And I was like, look, I'm not saying
- 22:30Speaker 1: the Bills aren't great. I'm just saying if you look back,
- 22:34Speaker 1: every year, there is always a surprise division winner, and
- 22:39Speaker 1: the formula tends to be first or second year quarterback,
- 22:43Speaker 1: first or second year coach. Right, think about the Giants
- 22:47Speaker 1: with Brian Dayball. Think about what the Texans with CJ.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Shroud and Demico Ryans. Think about the Bengals a few
- 22:59Speaker 1: years go, right when it was Joe Burrow and Zach Taylor.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Think about like every single year there is always a
- 23:06Speaker 1: surprise and it always ends up being something in that pattern.
- 23:10Speaker 1: We liked it for Vrabel and Drake May, but just
- 23:13Speaker 1: easily be cam Ward and Brian Callahan, which in a
- 23:18Speaker 1: much weaker division.
- 23:19Speaker 3: Yeah, and let it be known now I'm going to
- 23:21Speaker 3: have ten times the amount of money on Tennessee divisional odds,
- 23:25Speaker 3: and I will on the Patriots ods. We're just saying
- 23:27Speaker 3: in that spot, we thought the Patriots are good value
- 23:29Speaker 3: because what Chad just outlined year two jump quarterback head coach,
- 23:34Speaker 3: that combo, we're hoping for the best. If you want
- 23:38Speaker 3: to play it safe, we said it, throw the bills
- 23:40Speaker 3: and whatever type of parlay you want to make divisional odds,
- 23:43Speaker 3: there's nothing wrong with throwing the Bills in there. They're
- 23:46Speaker 3: by far the best team in that division and there
- 23:48Speaker 3: should be minus two to fifty rare the hell they
- 23:50Speaker 3: were at the when we were talking about them.
- 23:53Speaker 1: All right, question about defensive Rookie of the year, this
- 23:56Speaker 1: one's fun. Abdua Carter plus two fifty, Jalen wo plus
- 24:01Speaker 1: seven hundred, Travis Hunter plus one thousand, and then it
- 24:06Speaker 1: goes on and on and on. Anyone on the board
- 24:09Speaker 1: that I didn't mention just now because I've got an opinion.
- 24:12Speaker 3: Like Mike Green and Johat Campbell could be guys that
- 24:14Speaker 3: could be great. Like you know, Mike Green is someone
- 24:17Speaker 3: that has a ton of talent, obviously a ton of bagage.
- 24:19Speaker 3: You can google look it up. Why he did fall
- 24:21Speaker 3: to the Ravens. We've seen the Ravens do this all
- 24:23Speaker 3: the time, Right, they take a guy who's got issues,
- 24:26Speaker 3: tons of talent, straighten them out. He's gonna fit right
- 24:28Speaker 3: into that defense. He could be an absolute stud and
- 24:31Speaker 3: a steel for that team. And same with Campbell Man.
- 24:34Speaker 3: If this kid is legit playing the number two linebacker
- 24:37Speaker 3: for the Eagles, or if he ends up being an edge,
- 24:39Speaker 3: he could be a stub. But for to me, each
- 24:41Speaker 3: had just a value. How do you not take Walker
- 24:44Speaker 3: like this kid is an absolute stud on a defense
- 24:47Speaker 3: that has zero pass russ ability In Atlanta they're one
- 24:51Speaker 3: of the worst worst d end groups and all the NFL.
- 24:55Speaker 3: They're instantly getting a guy who could have been a
- 24:57Speaker 3: top ten pick, ton of raw of talent. If he
- 24:59Speaker 3: goes there and he's incredible, I get why he's at
- 25:03Speaker 3: number two, like him being the second odds on favorite
- 25:06Speaker 3: ahead of Travis Hunter. To me, that's price right by
- 25:08Speaker 3: the sportsbooks, But I think there's still value there. I
- 25:11Speaker 3: have a closer plus five hundred plus seven hundred plus
- 25:13Speaker 3: seven to fifty a couple different books.
- 25:15Speaker 2: I'll take that by on Walker Travis Hunter.
- 25:18Speaker 1: Tend to one dude come on. Think about it. Think
- 25:24Speaker 1: about it. Jalen Walker will have to be so brilliant.
- 25:29Speaker 1: He'll need double digit sacks, and he'll need to be
- 25:33Speaker 1: in a position where that team is getting so much
- 25:38Speaker 1: spotlight and playing in a Marquee game at least once
- 25:41Speaker 1: or twice, and his highlights are all over social media.
- 25:46Speaker 2: He's in the right division for it, though you'd agree,
- 25:48Speaker 2: right the Saints, the Panthers, and the Bucks.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Well, what I would say about that is that he's
- 25:53Speaker 1: not because he's not a guy who automatically his team
- 26:00Speaker 1: is going to be playing in primetime games right right, right,
- 26:03Speaker 1: So he's going to need a viral campaign where every
- 26:07Speaker 1: week it's like when Micah Parsons was blowing up and
- 26:10Speaker 1: you're like, oh my god, look at what this guy
- 26:11Speaker 1: is doing. Oh my god, look at what this guy
- 26:13Speaker 1: is doing. Travis Hunter, if he plays twenty five percent
- 26:17Speaker 1: of the time on defense and let's say he gets
- 26:22Speaker 1: four picks, all right, all of those are going to
- 26:27Speaker 1: be all over social media. All of those are going
- 26:29Speaker 1: to lead Sports Center with Scott Van Pelt, all of
- 26:33Speaker 1: those are going to be discussed. Everybody wants to see.
- 26:38Speaker 1: It's a narrative.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Award, don't do not bet Travis Hunter for defense.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Ten to one. People are going to want that.
- 26:47Speaker 2: There's no way. I just don't think he's gonna play
- 26:50Speaker 2: enough for you. I get what you're saying, but.
- 26:53Speaker 3: It's just I don't know, I get like from from
- 26:57Speaker 3: your point of view, though, this is going to probably
- 26:58Speaker 3: be the most beat guy, and the fact that the
- 27:01Speaker 3: books are just keeping.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Him at plus a thousand should scare you off.
- 27:05Speaker 3: Because this he's got a really diehard fan base that
- 27:07Speaker 3: are Bettingham right now. And you know, it's gonna be
- 27:11Speaker 3: interesting where we're at in August where the books report
- 27:14Speaker 3: where the money is on these different spots.
- 27:16Speaker 2: I really think the public's gonna hammer that. From your
- 27:19Speaker 2: same point of view.
- 27:20Speaker 3: Of just you know, he could win this award, but yeah,
- 27:23Speaker 3: someone just said in our chat, the cornerbacks just don't
- 27:25Speaker 3: win it. And he really has to be, you know,
- 27:30Speaker 3: one of the most hyped up unicorns we've ever had
- 27:32Speaker 3: coming to the sport.
- 27:33Speaker 2: I mean, like I.
- 27:34Speaker 3: Told you, I will forever hold I don't want a
- 27:37Speaker 3: bad enouth to people because they want our show. But
- 27:38Speaker 3: comparing him to Aatani to me, was the dumbest thing
- 27:41Speaker 3: I've ever heard of my life. Like one guy is
- 27:43Speaker 3: built like the biggest freak I've ever seen in person.
- 27:47Speaker 3: I don't think people understand how huge Otani is and
- 27:49Speaker 3: how jacked he is, and he's playing a.
- 27:51Speaker 2: Non contact sport.
- 27:53Speaker 3: Trastunter is, you know, skinny as hell playing a contact
- 27:57Speaker 3: sport trying to play both sides. Again, it's just not
- 28:01Speaker 3: going to happen. I'm telling you, it's not going to happen.
- 28:03Speaker 3: So yeah, I get where Chad's coming from. I just
- 28:06Speaker 3: I wouldn't do it. There's just so much has to
- 28:08Speaker 3: go your way and it just never happens. Cornerbacks never
- 28:11Speaker 3: win this award because the jump from college, let alone
- 28:14Speaker 3: the Big twelve, to being in the NFL playing corner
- 28:18Speaker 3: it's so extreme.
- 28:19Speaker 2: I just I can't see him winning this award.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Travis Hunter tend to one. Honest to god, he gets
- 28:26Speaker 1: four picks and makes you know, three highlight wheth he
- 28:30Speaker 1: plays on defense. People are fucking suckers. They just don't are.
- 28:33Speaker 2: It's true.
- 28:34Speaker 1: The voters are suckers. Everyone wants to be validated for
- 28:38Speaker 1: saying I'm with you. I think it's idiotic to be
- 28:41Speaker 1: saying this guy, to be having conversations about this guy
- 28:44Speaker 1: playing aggressively both ways, but they took it so seriously
- 28:49Speaker 1: in the draft coverage, they talked about it so much.
- 28:53Speaker 1: One guy was saying, I forgot who it was. Was like,
- 28:56Speaker 1: it's actually easier to do it in the NFL because
- 28:59Speaker 1: there's fewer plays. It was just like people are trying
- 29:02Speaker 1: to will this to be a thing. Travis Hunter like
- 29:06Speaker 1: at ten to one, someone wants to make this happen.
- 29:09Speaker 1: And when someone wants to make something happen in the NFL,
- 29:12Speaker 1: fucking happens.
- 29:15Speaker 2: That's true.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Favorite stadium arena you've been in, and the stadium you've
- 29:23Speaker 1: never been in that you would love to travel to
- 29:26Speaker 1: for a game.
- 29:27Speaker 3: I mean, I'll be biased, like Citizens Bank Park. I
- 29:30Speaker 3: just it's a very special place for me. And you know,
- 29:33Speaker 3: I'm a big Phillies fan, and I see the VET
- 29:37Speaker 3: would be number one as an old Eagles fan. Great
- 29:39Speaker 3: memories of being in the VET in the nineties, tons
- 29:42Speaker 3: of losing. I was there for that Tampa game in
- 29:44Speaker 3: the freezing cold as well, where it was guaranteed we're
- 29:47Speaker 3: going to beat Tampa.
- 29:48Speaker 2: They don't win in the cold, and a pick six
- 29:50Speaker 2: by Barber and it was all downhill from there. So yeah,
- 29:54Speaker 2: for base.
- 29:54Speaker 3: Being a fan base, you know, Eagles fan, I would say,
- 29:57Speaker 3: that's that's really special for me a team.
- 30:01Speaker 2: I can't believe I'm going to say this.
- 30:02Speaker 3: It's It's probably the best ballpark I ever went through,
- 30:05Speaker 3: just being nostalgic as a little kid. Was Yankees Ballpark,
- 30:08Speaker 3: Like when I was a kid going there, you know, knowing.
- 30:11Speaker 2: All the history.
- 30:13Speaker 3: I feel like there was a wall with all the
- 30:14Speaker 3: different players pictures on it, and there was like some
- 30:18Speaker 3: Hall of Fame walk through in there and just all that.
- 30:20Speaker 1: It's called Monument Park.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Yeah, so that was in the old Yankee Stadium.
- 30:23Speaker 3: It was just crazy thinking back to that, and then
- 30:26Speaker 3: I guess Stateium. I want to go to Chad knows Cubs.
- 30:30Speaker 3: I wanted to go there when we were in Chicago.
- 30:31Speaker 3: I wanted to catch a game. It's always been on
- 30:33Speaker 3: my bucket list. I'm just never in Chicago when they
- 30:36Speaker 3: either Cubs were playing at home or like, it just
- 30:38Speaker 3: doesn't line up right. So that's that's still my number one.
- 30:41Speaker 3: I just got to get the Wrigley at some point
- 30:44Speaker 3: in my life.
- 30:45Speaker 1: You know what, You and I we got to go
- 30:49Speaker 1: to a day game at Wrigley. Seriously, because I went
- 30:53Speaker 1: to Chicago. I'll make it work the the you know,
- 30:56Speaker 1: I'm going to talk right about this in the book,
- 30:57Speaker 1: But the guy who invented the point spread lived in
- 31:01Speaker 1: Chicago and spent so many days at Wrigley Field for
- 31:08Speaker 1: day games, betting with his neighbors that he was sitting
- 31:11Speaker 1: next to. And so you know, and now the Cubs
- 31:17Speaker 1: they've got a DraftKings sportsbook at Wrigly and I want
- 31:22Speaker 1: to go to the game and sit in stands. You
- 31:25Speaker 1: should come with me as a better Uh, it would
- 31:28Speaker 1: be really fun. Wriggly for sure. I feel like you
- 31:35Speaker 1: can't answer this question without count accounting for sort of
- 31:41Speaker 1: the emotional elements.
- 31:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Go look Wriggly in the World Series when they beat
- 31:49Speaker 1: the Indians and it was they were down three to
- 31:54Speaker 1: two and heading back to Cleveland. That's going to be
- 31:59Speaker 1: as good as it gets, right, being a soldier field
- 32:03Speaker 1: for the playoffs for the eighty five season, for that
- 32:06Speaker 1: Giants game and then the Rams, like, that's brilliant. It's
- 32:10Speaker 1: never going to be topped being at the old Chicago
- 32:12Speaker 1: Stadium when Michael Jordan would have it rocking. Of course,
- 32:17Speaker 1: like other people might not feel that way, but I'm
- 32:19Speaker 1: going to feel that way. I would say the best
- 32:22Speaker 1: one I've ever been in, not emotionally connected, has to
- 32:26Speaker 1: be Death Valley at LSU easily the most electric, exciting
- 32:33Speaker 1: in stadium experience I've ever had.
- 32:36Speaker 2: I was a game, who were they playing?
- 32:40Speaker 1: Twenty twelve night game Saturday night against Alabama. Wow, Bama
- 32:46Speaker 1: was one, LSU was five or something.
- 32:49Speaker 2: To score nine to six. Those were like the nine six, twelve.
- 32:51Speaker 1: Ten years Bama won like on the last drive of
- 32:55Speaker 1: the game, a comeback. I had been there for ESPN,
- 32:59Speaker 1: the magazine we used to these issues called one Day,
- 33:01Speaker 1: one Game, where we would cover the whole issue would
- 33:06Speaker 1: be dedicated to everything it takes to pull off this
- 33:10Speaker 1: huge event. So we were at the tailgate, we were
- 33:14Speaker 1: in the locker room. We were in the Crimson Tide
- 33:18Speaker 1: locker room. When they're hanging up the uniforms. We've got
- 33:22Speaker 1: a sort of photo booth set up with fans who
- 33:24Speaker 1: come through. Actually behind me on the wall you can
- 33:27Speaker 1: see like some of the pictures that we took from that,
- 33:32Speaker 1: I'm right in front of it. But that one right
- 33:33Speaker 1: there is from the very end of the game, after
- 33:39Speaker 1: LSU had lost. That was two fans just sitting there
- 33:44Speaker 1: alone at the top of the stadium because they were
- 33:46Speaker 1: so dejected. That was the last page of the magazine
- 33:50Speaker 1: for that issue. But jeez, that that was insane and
- 33:55Speaker 1: the stadium. I'd want to go to Wembley for a
- 34:01Speaker 1: for a football match. How do you not want to
- 34:03Speaker 1: go to Wembley for a football match?
- 34:06Speaker 2: That's pretty good.
- 34:07Speaker 3: I mean I've been to Manchester for a match like
- 34:10Speaker 3: that was obviously life changing.
- 34:13Speaker 2: But yeah, it's as an American.
- 34:15Speaker 3: I tell anyone that ever asked me, if you can
- 34:17Speaker 3: get to a football match, any club really does not matter.
- 34:22Speaker 3: Just get in there, get with the fans, have a
- 34:25Speaker 3: couple of drinks, and get singing. It's just it really
- 34:27Speaker 3: changed your perspective as an American fan going over to England
- 34:30Speaker 3: seeing a match.
- 34:31Speaker 1: Uh oh. Our listeners are like this one. What is
- 34:35Speaker 1: one food you'd love to make your co host eat?
- 34:41Speaker 1: Are you ready? Do you want to know what mine is?
- 34:43Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 34:45Speaker 1: I think you'd love it. I'd like you to have
- 34:48Speaker 1: cottage cheese.
- 34:50Speaker 2: I'm already out with but I think I can make
- 34:53Speaker 2: some type of cottage.
- 34:54Speaker 1: I think I can make it completely edible for you. Okay,
- 34:59Speaker 1: it's cottage cheese. And there's like a brand called good
- 35:04Speaker 1: cottage cheese, and it's delicious. It's thicker, so it's not
- 35:08Speaker 1: like runny like your nineteen seventies cottage cheese that comes
- 35:13Speaker 1: with peaches. You put some date caramel in there. You
- 35:16Speaker 1: know what date caramel is. No, Oh, my god, dad,
- 35:19Speaker 1: caramel is the best. You take the dates, you take
- 35:21Speaker 1: out the pits. You pour boiling water over the dates.
- 35:25Speaker 1: You let them sit for fifteen minutes. You take them out,
- 35:28Speaker 1: you put them in a blender. You put in half
- 35:30Speaker 1: a can of coconut milk, a little cinnamon, a little vanilla.
- 35:34Speaker 1: You blend it and you've got like this creamy, delicious,
- 35:39Speaker 1: healthy sweetener. You put a spoonful of date caramel in there,
- 35:44Speaker 1: and you take some roasted nuts and you uh, and
- 35:48Speaker 1: then you put like an apple or some blueberries or raspberries,
- 35:52Speaker 1: any kind of fruit you like, and you mix it up. Simon,
- 35:55Speaker 1: It's it's freaking heaven. It's so good and very healthy breakfast.
- 36:02Speaker 2: All right, So I'm gonna go to complete ops away.
- 36:03Speaker 3: I was trying to think, what, like, I have a
- 36:06Speaker 3: couple of different foods that are my go to as
- 36:08Speaker 3: a guy who's a bigger guy. We have every bigger
- 36:09Speaker 3: guy's sad food what food we go to and we're sad.
- 36:12Speaker 2: So whenever we have a bad.
- 36:13Speaker 3: Losing day on this show, especially when we do our
- 36:15Speaker 3: Sunday night shows, as soon as I hop on here,
- 36:18Speaker 3: this is seriously the low of lows, I'll door dash
- 36:22Speaker 3: from Cinabun and I will get a cinnabun. And that's
- 36:25Speaker 3: why I would love to see Chatty an eight hundred
- 36:27Speaker 3: thousand calories cinnabun with just pure sugar, nothing, nothing healthy,
- 36:32Speaker 3: and it just cooked by some seventeen year old and
- 36:35Speaker 3: some mall somewhere. That's just terrible. I would love to
- 36:37Speaker 3: see you eat a cinnamon which I absolutely love.
- 36:40Speaker 1: By the way, you know what's crazy. You just mentioned
- 36:43Speaker 1: it was your sad food. It was my sad and
- 36:47Speaker 1: lonely food too. Back in the day. So when I
- 36:51Speaker 1: when I was writing The Odds, which was the best
- 36:55Speaker 1: selling book I did about sports betting, you know, in
- 36:59Speaker 1: the early twoth I would be in Vegas for multiple
- 37:06Speaker 1: days on end, and then I'd take a red eye
- 37:09Speaker 1: back from Vegas to New York. I usually on Sunday
- 37:12Speaker 1: nights at the I'd like go straight from the sports
- 37:15Speaker 1: book to the airport and I'd hop on the plane,
- 37:21Speaker 1: but it would be getting late, and there weren't a
- 37:24Speaker 1: lot of things that were open then, and so the
- 37:27Speaker 1: saddest food you could have is the cinnabon on the
- 37:33Speaker 1: way to your gate, just getting through security at mccaren Airport.
- 37:38Speaker 1: And I would sit there in the under the fluorescent
- 37:42Speaker 1: lights two hours before my plane left, because I was
- 37:46Speaker 1: stuck in no man's land and it's a red eye
- 37:49Speaker 1: and I'm having this sinnabon and it's just filling me
- 37:53Speaker 1: up and making me sick. And then I got to
- 37:56Speaker 1: go take out my contacts and walk onto the plane blind,
- 37:59Speaker 1: and I I got to try to fall asleep. And
- 38:01Speaker 1: the next day I gotta go to work. I'd land
- 38:04Speaker 1: and have to go right to work, take a bus
- 38:05Speaker 1: from freaking Newark Airport into the city. That was my
- 38:10Speaker 1: saddest meal. You're right, I'm with you.
- 38:13Speaker 3: Let's say you've never hit rock bottom until you're trying
- 38:15Speaker 3: to send him on your PLUSK fork just snaps in
- 38:17Speaker 3: half because.
- 38:17Speaker 2: It's such an ultimate process. Sure, cooking the heater for
- 38:21Speaker 2: three days.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Why can't they just make the fork stronger at the cinema?
- 38:25Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 38:26Speaker 1: It's so true, all right, there are some season long
- 38:30Speaker 1: Saquon Barkley markets available, Simon specifically you any thoughts on
- 38:38Speaker 1: any markets that are available, you know, can he break
- 38:42Speaker 1: the season rushing record or anything that you want to
- 38:47Speaker 1: take a look at.
- 38:48Speaker 3: Yeah, Like, again, this is my job people as a fan,
- 38:51Speaker 3: obviously I want Saquan to have great things happened to him.
- 38:54Speaker 2: He crossed the most dangerous.
- 38:56Speaker 3: Number in all football chat he crossed the two K number,
- 38:59Speaker 3: and we have his store of data to back it
- 39:00Speaker 3: up where it's it's never good. And you know, my
- 39:04Speaker 3: mindset of it is, this guy is the freak of freaks.
- 39:06Speaker 3: He left some yards on the field that he could
- 39:09Speaker 3: have easily got way more yards than he even did.
- 39:11Speaker 3: And he's only going to get better year two behind
- 39:14Speaker 3: this offensive line, and it should be great. But we've
- 39:18Speaker 3: seen the numbers, like if you want to bet against it,
- 39:20Speaker 3: you're gonna make money long term betting against.
- 39:23Speaker 2: The player after rushing for two K.
- 39:25Speaker 3: So my mentality of it, I mean it sucks to
- 39:27Speaker 3: be negative, is I'll take all of his unders.
- 39:30Speaker 2: It's just it's just the way you have to do it.
- 39:32Speaker 3: It's all of it's gonna be peaked value at this point,
- 39:35Speaker 3: it's going to be an easy bet for most public.
- 39:38Speaker 2: Betters, but I would say, just run it from far away.
- 39:41Speaker 3: It's just gonna be, you know, a number bumped up
- 39:44Speaker 3: too much to ever have value on it. So yeah,
- 39:47Speaker 3: I hate to be the negative one, but I'm down
- 39:49Speaker 3: obviously on Saquon.
- 39:50Speaker 2: Coming to this upcoming season.
- 39:53Speaker 1: Breaking New y sovereignty, winner of the Kentucky Dribby will
- 40:00Speaker 1: not be running in the preetness. I don't have any
- 40:03Speaker 1: other information. I only have what's in the chat from
- 40:07Speaker 1: what I assume is Gifford, who was also telling me
- 40:11Speaker 1: that the game I referenced LSU Alabama AJ McCarran to TJ. Weldon.
- 40:19Speaker 1: I think it was a screen to win the game
- 40:22Speaker 1: twenty one seventeen. I'll also say my other sad food.
- 40:25Speaker 1: When I was in high school and my girlfriend broke
- 40:28Speaker 1: up with me a week after prom because she wanted
- 40:31Speaker 1: to date a dude who she had always had a
- 40:34Speaker 1: crush on, who had just broken up with his girlfriend
- 40:36Speaker 1: and she always wanted dat him before they graduated. She
- 40:38Speaker 1: was a year older little Frozen Sarah Lee cheesecakes, and
- 40:47Speaker 1: I was eating them on top of my covers on
- 40:50Speaker 1: a trundle bed in my tidy whities watching Saturday Night
- 40:54Speaker 1: Live when my parents came home from being out and
- 40:59Speaker 1: my dad walked into my room and saw me and
- 41:02Speaker 1: looked at me and said, she dumped you. Huh said yeah.
- 41:07Speaker 1: He said that was like that looks like it hurts,
- 41:11Speaker 1: and then he left.
- 41:12Speaker 2: God, I wish Barry was my dad.
- 41:14Speaker 1: Dude, you know Barry, you know Barry.
- 41:17Speaker 2: He's the best.
- 41:19Speaker 1: Oh my god. Barry also in that room, stayed with
- 41:24Speaker 1: me all night after I was puking while drinking Jack
- 41:28Speaker 1: Daniels to celebrate getting into Tulane University, and then made
- 41:33Speaker 1: me get up at six am to go work at
- 41:35Speaker 1: the pharmacy where I had a weekend job, and I
- 41:39Speaker 1: had a seven am shift and they sent me home
- 41:43Speaker 1: about two hours later because I couldn't keep anything down.
- 41:45Speaker 1: Oh god, Oh yeah, Barry, he was one for the
- 41:48Speaker 1: work ethic. All right, last question before we get out
- 41:53Speaker 1: of here, hold on wordd I lost it here for
- 41:55Speaker 1: a second. Oh this was the best one. Shdor Sanders?
- 41:58Speaker 1: Will Dor Sanders be the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns? Really,
- 42:05Speaker 1: the market is who will be the starting quarterback for
- 42:08Speaker 1: the Cleveland Browns? Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Uh, Dylan Gabriel,
- 42:13Speaker 1: Dr Sanders. Who are you betting on right now?
- 42:17Speaker 2: I mean, how do you not bet Flacco?
- 42:20Speaker 3: It just feels like he's the type of guy who's
- 42:21Speaker 3: played the offense before, knows what to do, and he'll
- 42:24Speaker 3: have a step up in all these young kids fighting for,
- 42:26Speaker 3: you know, the positions behind him. I feel like, as
- 42:29Speaker 3: much I want to make it Sanders that I just
- 42:32Speaker 3: he would really have to wow them right away, Chad.
- 42:34Speaker 3: So yeah, for me, I'll go boring, I'll go Joe.
- 42:37Speaker 3: Flacco just feels like he's gonna have a leg up
- 42:39Speaker 3: on all of them because you know, he's just seen
- 42:41Speaker 3: it all and that's just that's a big deal, especially
- 42:44Speaker 3: where you know these guys not only a they're playing
- 42:46Speaker 3: for you know, the number two, number three job. Someone's
- 42:49Speaker 3: gonna lose their job, right They're not carrying four guys
- 42:51Speaker 3: into the season, So yeah, it's I can't see Kenny
- 42:55Speaker 3: Pickett beaten out Flacco, but I could see Sanders go
- 43:00Speaker 3: for his money because I do think he has a
- 43:01Speaker 3: ton of talent.
- 43:03Speaker 1: Oh, I think this is Shador sanders job to lose.
- 43:08Speaker 1: He is gonna come in.
- 43:09Speaker 3: Do you see the video of the team when they
- 43:11Speaker 3: drafted him, the GM and the coach.
- 43:13Speaker 1: They didn't look happy, no, but they're gonna be. If
- 43:17Speaker 1: de Door Sanders is coming in, he's gonna fight for
- 43:19Speaker 1: that job. He's gonna win that job. He's gonna be
- 43:20Speaker 1: the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns. They got nothing
- 43:23Speaker 1: to lose. They're not gonna win anything with Joe Flack,
- 43:25Speaker 1: or they're not gonna win anything with Kenny Picky. You
- 43:28Speaker 1: might as well find out now. Is shud or Sanders
- 43:30Speaker 1: going to be the guy or are you gonna tank
- 43:32Speaker 1: immediately to go into the next year and get one
- 43:35Speaker 1: of these quarterbacks that everyone says is sort of gonna
- 43:37Speaker 1: make up a much better quarterback class. I think it's
- 43:40Speaker 1: gonna be Sugar Sanders love it. I think Kenny Pickett's
- 43:44Speaker 1: gonna get cut. All right. Simon and I will return
