Latest / NORMAL GAYS Podcast / Woke TikTok therapist MELTS DOWN over “conversion therapy” Supreme Court case!
Transcript
- 0:00There are kids in 30 states who just got a little less protected
- 0:03today, and the people who did that to them dressed it up in
- 0:06the Constitution and called it freedom.
- 0:08It is not freedom. It's a license to hurt children.
- 0:12We are so. I hate like the doom of every
- 0:16tik toker like they just sell fear but we are so.
- 0:20That's just the theme of every video.
- 0:21It's like. Everything is like is like shut
- 0:24up, go outside, get some. Hey guys, welcome to Normal
- 0:29games. Subscribe to our channel OH.
- 0:32My God. All right, go ahead.
- 0:34Welcome to normal games where we take on insanity.
- 0:36I'm Brad Palumbo here with. The parks and hey guys, what are
- 0:39we talking about today? Conversion therapy?
- 0:41Did you go through it? No.
- 0:43I didn't either, although I kind of feel like I want.
- 0:47Did you say I want? To well, I would like to have
- 0:49the experience for two reasons. I'm totally I and any let me
- 0:55just finish what I'm saying. First reason is I think that I
- 0:58would do really well at debating the counselors.
- 1:02Second reason is that it seems like any gays that go through
- 1:05conversion therapy and then become influencers capitalize
- 1:08very much on the fact that they went to conversion therapy.
- 1:11And I feel like I'm missing a check because of it.
- 1:14So I also want to say in an episode before this, I did say I
- 1:18wanted to lie more, so I just lied.
- 1:21You could just watch Bonnie Blue explicit content and that could
- 1:24be your conversion therapy. Would work.
- 1:28Oh my God. So we're talking, We're making
- 1:30light of this, but obviously it's a very serious subject and
- 1:33we should be clear. We're going to talk about the
- 1:35Supreme Court case and like the crazy over the top meltdowns
- 1:37over it. But we should be clear about
- 1:39what we're talking about when we're talking about conversion
- 1:41therapy. Historically that included
- 1:43things like electroshocks, like shocking the gay out of people
- 1:47and aversion therapy and lots of treatment and that kind of
- 1:51thing. And I have always believed that
- 1:52should be banned for for especially for minors should not
- 1:56be ever subjected to that. But the Supreme Court case.
- 1:59Wasn't did you say especially for minors, Yes, for everyone.
- 2:03I have a harder time as a libertarian with the idea that
- 2:06if you're a grown ass adult and you want to subject yourself to
- 2:10pseudo scientific treatments, I have a hard time rationalizing
- 2:14why you shouldn't be allowed to. If you are fully informed that
- 2:17they don't work and you want to do it, I don't know, but for me
- 2:20it's. That's like, but at that point
- 2:22you like have a defective brain. What?
- 2:25Do you mean? So it's kind of like our
- 2:26responsibility to step in and say, hey, this decisions bad.
- 2:29It's like if a Down syndrome person wanted to like.
- 2:31Oh my God. You wanted to make a decision
- 2:33that they shouldn't make. Do you know what I mean?
- 2:36Like that, if you want to shock yourself straight, like you kind
- 2:39of you. Might be a little.
- 2:40Crazy. You might you might need us to
- 2:42make the decision for you. Oh, OK.
- 2:44Anyways, OK. James Fishback.
- 2:46I am a tyrant. I'm just an ethical 1.
- 2:49Anyway, we're not talking about that.
- 2:52That's not what this case. Is we're not talking about down
- 2:54synonym people. It's about no or Electro
- 2:57shocking gaze. It's about talk.
- 2:59The case is about talk therapy. It's about whether you can talk
- 3:03to a therapist about your gender identity or being gay, and
- 3:08they're allowed to talk you about it to you without only
- 3:11affirming it and saying yes, keep being gay.
- 3:14Yes, your gender identity is true and correct because these
- 3:17states like Colorado pass laws that very explicitly said you
- 3:22can't even talk to a patient as a therapist, as a counselor
- 3:27about their gender identity unless you affirm it, or about
- 3:31their sexuality unless you you can talk about it if you affirm
- 3:34it. Which is a clear.
- 3:35Cut. It's a yeah.
- 3:36It's a clear cut push on. Viewpoint.
- 3:39Viewpoint discrimination. Against the 1st Amendment
- 3:42anyway. So this, the Supreme Court ruled
- 3:44against this these these laws and they're not not.
- 3:46Necessarily, they pushed it back.
- 3:49I was about to say they're being sent back, but they did find
- 3:51that they're subject to strict scrutiny, which means they are
- 3:54likely to, yeah. Anything subject to strict.
- 3:57It's not when I say they ruled against, it's not what the
- 4:00Colorado's attorneys wanted, No. So that's what I mean when I say
- 4:03ruled against. But you are correct that they
- 4:05didn't strike down the laws. They sent them back to lower
- 4:07courts for review. But they did specifically say
- 4:09that some parts of the law were valid, like shock therapy and
- 4:12stuff like that. So when people, it's just very
- 4:14important that you make that distinction, that the part of
- 4:16the law that they are getting back to the courts was
- 4:19specifically on talk therapy. It was not on actual conversion.
- 4:23But there's been so much misinformation about.
- 4:25This I know. And.
- 4:26I also wonder, under these laws, what's the point of getting a
- 4:30diagnosis of gender dysphoria if the doctor can't even question
- 4:33if you have it? Yeah.
- 4:35Well, it's not a diagnosis at that point.
- 4:36It's just. Right, so it's like the IT it
- 4:40renders doctors and psychiatrists obsolete.
- 4:43Might as well. Just talk to your AI.
- 4:44It's a fun. Operates well, it operates.
- 4:46It operates like ChatGPT, like you're not a bad person for
- 4:49cheating on your wife. You weren't just exploring your
- 4:51sexual boundary, correct? Yeah, and you weren't getting
- 4:54this. You.
- 4:54Were you were reacting to their emotional abuse?
- 4:58That they were giving you all your therapists could be is just
- 5:00chat. That's what they're.
- 5:01Asking you no, but that's the thing.
- 5:02It's like, it really makes you beg the question like, like,
- 5:05what are these? What's the point of having a
- 5:07doctor as the middle man between these prescriptions?
- 5:10Because they're operating under the assumption that nobody,
- 5:12absolutely no trans person, can go to a doctor and have the
- 5:18possibility that their gender dysphoria isn't actually
- 5:21present. Or that these people don't even
- 5:22have gender dysphoria. Or that it's transient, a doctor
- 5:26can't even determine. Hey, this might be stemming from
- 5:29another comorbidity that you have.
- 5:31Maybe we should wait before you chop your tits off.
- 5:34If you work separating under the assumption that there is no such
- 5:37thing as a patient that exists like that, you are insane.
- 5:41But the other thing I was just saying about this, then we
- 5:44should probably get into the actual video we're reacting to
- 5:48is that these therapists, I'll just tell you why I agree with
- 5:52this ruling. In a nutshell, if a three-year
- 5:55old is brought to a therapist and says my gender identity is a
- 5:59cupcake, I identify as a cupcake.
- 6:02It is literally illegal under these laws for the therapist to
- 6:06say you're not a cupcake, you're a little boy.
- 6:09Now let's talk about why you're feeling like a cupcake, right?
- 6:13But to actually not literally any action that does not affirm
- 6:18a gender identity. And they have no clear cut
- 6:21definition. Of gender identity.
- 6:22Gender identity is whatever you identify as.
- 6:25You could say my gender identity is cat my cat self and they
- 6:30literally have to affirm that or not.
- 6:33At this point just let him act like I don't even care.
- 6:36I don't care. Oh, so now we're going to watch
- 6:39a crash out video from therapy Jeff on TikTok, a woke therapist
- 6:44Because you know, we love woke therapist out here.
- 6:46Delusional. They're really doing God's work
- 6:50to pay our bills and he. We'll put his user on screen.
- 6:53He has 3,000,000 followers. He's.
- 6:54Very big. I've seen some of his videos,
- 6:57occasionally I'll agree with one, but like a lot of times
- 7:01it's just there's this like psychology behind the woke like
- 7:06very left person that's like so coddling and detached from
- 7:11reality. Especially therapist.
- 7:13Especially therapist, everything is therapy speak and it's so
- 7:17diluted from what is actually happening.
- 7:20And not only just like probably their patients life, but just in
- 7:23the world in general because they're so afraid of stepping on
- 7:26people's feelings that it's like like I, I don't know, I feel
- 7:29like they're like the worst people on the planet.
- 7:31Like I'd rather hang out with Jeffrey Dahmer.
- 7:33Oh my God, that might be a slight.
- 7:35I might give him a finger to chew on.
- 7:38He's one of the old people. That's not what I thought you
- 7:40meant. Oh, EW, no, no, I'm not the
- 7:44eight people that means it's probably.
- 7:46People, all right, we're deleting that.
- 7:48Please just blur all of that with the bleep mouth.
- 7:51And everything true. I wonder what his fart smelled
- 7:53like. Like a nose?
- 7:54Disgusting. Part that's absolutely
- 7:59unacceptable. If you want me to stop saying
- 8:01stuff like this, join as a member.
- 8:03We're going to be reacting to 5. Nights you'll probably say a lot
- 8:07more stuff like this. Game that we're going to play
- 8:09where Stephen Hawking can chase you and try to perform things to
- 8:14you on Epstein Island. We're going to do an unhinged
- 8:17video for our weekly members only support our content.
- 8:20Hit the join button link in the description.
- 8:21Also, just subscribe a lot of you.
- 8:22Watch, I hope I get Stephen Hawking.
- 8:24I'd rather get him than Epstein. Hardly do, but so much damage.
- 8:28Like, if you're really being essayed by like Epstein, Trump
- 8:31or Stephen Hawking, wouldn't you rather it be Stephen Hawking?
- 8:36What the? What's he going to do, drool on
- 8:40you? How are we 8 minutes and 20
- 8:42seconds in? The second, I'm sorry.
- 8:44We're going to watch the therapy video.
- 8:49We're so cooked. The Supreme Court ruled today
- 8:52that banning conversion therapy for kids is a free speech
- 8:55violation. I am sorry, what?
- 8:58Who's free speech? The therapists, Not the child's.
- 9:01The adult with the license? The constitutional protection?
- 9:03The kid getting psychologically dismantled on that couch does
- 9:07not What the free speech. OK, you know what that means in
- 9:11this context? A grown adult with a license
- 9:15sits across from a kid, a kid who didn't choose to be there,
- 9:18whose parents sent them there, and tells them that they're
- 9:21broken every. Week OK, I actually agree
- 9:24because in kids it is child abuse and I do think that the
- 9:29state has a vested interest in preventing child abuse however.
- 9:33But not all of it. Some forms of it, you can't form
- 9:36it. But exactly that's my point.
- 9:38There is a line that gets drawn where you have to accept the
- 9:44risk that is associated with the freedom that we are granted
- 9:48under our constitution. There is risk associated with
- 9:50any type of freedom that you get.
- 9:52The more free a country is, the more risk there is that people
- 9:55are going to abuse it. And specifically with free
- 9:57speech and raising kids like you can.
- 10:01Unfortunately under you can say a lot of things to your kids
- 10:04that would be considered abusive, but also the state can
- 10:09regulate speech, they just have to do it from a neutral
- 10:12perspective. And they clearly did not in
- 10:14this. Case they're allowed to regulate
- 10:15speech from healthcare providers.
- 10:16If did you read Kagan's they are her her concurrence.
- 10:20But it's subject to a strict scrutiny and it can't have a
- 10:22blatant viewpoint discrimination.
- 10:24Well, it's not subject to strict scrutiny if it doesn't have a
- 10:27blatant viewpoint discrimination.
- 10:28So Colorado could go back and rewrite the law and say you're
- 10:31not allowed to talk about changing sexuality either way,
- 10:34you're not allowed to affirm it or whatever.
- 10:36They could do it in a way that is viewpoint neutral and it
- 10:39wouldn't can be under strict screen.
- 10:40That's interesting because that's the other telltale sign
- 10:42that this is not some like evil right wing court ruling. 2 of
- 10:46the. Democrats, right?
- 10:47And specifically if you read Kagan's concurrence, she's
- 10:50laying out to Colorado this is what you need to do to regulate
- 10:54this practice. And I honestly agree with her
- 10:57more than the Republican justices because I do think it
- 10:59is child abuse. Well, I don't, but like which?
- 11:02So for me telling a child who says they're transgender,
- 11:05they're not in. Fact.
- 11:06I'm focused on the gay kids. OK, but that's actually.
- 11:09It's still talk therapy. The heart of the case, though,
- 11:11is actually not that, and the. They talked a lot about
- 11:14homosexuality though. I guess I'm more focused on the
- 11:17gender identity aspect. And I think what you're saying
- 11:20is even if they went through that view, I think the therapist
- 11:22should in fact be able to not affirm a child's.
- 11:26That's the issue is that the law is so vague that it is clearly
- 11:29viewpoint discrimination. But if Colorado went back and
- 11:32said this is what you are not allowed to talk about in on both
- 11:35sides of the issue. You can't confirm as a therapist
- 11:38what you support and what you don't.
- 11:39But this is what you're not allowed to talk about or not
- 11:41allowed to say they Colorado could get could get away, I
- 11:44guess if. They were to say that you can't
- 11:47affirm or deny a child's gender identity as a therapist is what
- 11:51you're describing. Yeah, something along those
- 11:53lines, But it it would take a lot of thought to become neutral
- 11:56in this position. It it's that they were always
- 11:58going to lose this case because the law is so blatantly skewed.
- 12:01Yeah, and gender identity being a part of it makes it a lot of
- 12:03I. Agree.
- 12:04I I think for if, if these laws should never have been lumped
- 12:08together as gender identity and sexual orientation because
- 12:11they're so different and that your sexual orientation.
- 12:14It's not. A doctor doesn't have to.
- 12:16A doctor has to diagnose you with gender dysphoria and also
- 12:19like being gay. Gender identity, to the extent
- 12:21that's even a meaningful concept, but something like
- 12:23gender dysphoria can change. That's obviously true.
- 12:29Not really. Not often, and not through not
- 12:31through pressure. There wouldn't be a way to prove
- 12:34in court that sexuality can't change.
- 12:37Can never change, I think. I think you can show that the
- 12:39conversion therapy programs as they've existed do not.
- 12:42Work. Yeah, those don't work.
- 12:44But to say that sexuality doesn't subconsciously change?
- 12:47I'm not saying it literally never changes for anyone, but
- 12:50what I'm saying is obviously gender identity is a fluid
- 12:53concept. There are millions or thousands
- 12:55upon thousands of people who at one time felt like they maybe
- 12:58identity to fight a different way and then no longer do.
- 13:01So the idea that it's going to be illegal to push back on that
- 13:05or question that as a therapist, because the actual people with
- 13:08gender dysphoria, very persistent gender dysphoria, a
- 13:11therapist pushing back on their identity is not going to make it
- 13:14go away or dissuade. No, like Blair White, if Blair
- 13:17had been to a therapist as a child, who knows, maybe Blair
- 13:19did and she had said, I feel like a girl, I feel like, and
- 13:23the therapist was like, no, you're a boy.
- 13:24You're you're a boy because she's actually got gender
- 13:28dysphoria. It wouldn't have gone away,
- 13:31right? So I think a therapist should be
- 13:32allowed to push back on. A child and their pushback isn't
- 13:35normally you're a boy. Their pushback is what are these
- 13:38other things happening in your life?
- 13:39That Why do you feel that way? Like what's going on there?
- 13:42My issue, You know, you can be a boy and still be feminine,
- 13:45right? Like, yeah.
- 13:47I mean, my issue with this is that if gender and all of that
- 13:51conversation was not in Colorado's law because it.
- 13:54Was just about. It was just about sexuality.
- 13:56There is a way for Colorado to write this law and it will be.
- 13:59It will not be put under strict scrutiny by the courts.
- 14:01And then they could get away with it because you're allowed
- 14:03to regulate speech. The problem?
- 14:05You're allowed to regulate professional.
- 14:06Professional speech, correct? Well, there's always a little
- 14:09bit of. I mean.
- 14:12You can't like, regulate speech. You have a lot.
- 14:14More. You have a lot more correct, but
- 14:17the difference here, and I think legally speaking the the
- 14:20difference between gender and sexuality is that sexuality is
- 14:24no longer in the DSM. It is not a mental illness.
- 14:28A therapist doesn't have to diagnose you with being gay.
- 14:32You have to go off what the patient says.
- 14:34So if you wrote a law and said you're not allowed to affirm or
- 14:37deny a patient's sexuality, you just have to accept what the
- 14:40patient tells you, that would be very different than gender
- 14:43dysphoria because a doctor has to affirm or deny it to give you
- 14:46a diagnosis. It's a diagnosis that has
- 14:48criteria. It's.
- 14:49Both correct, and if it has criteria there are people who
- 14:51are not going to fit it. Crazy take.
- 14:54That's transmedicalism about according to them.
- 14:56Let's let therapy Jeff crash out a little more.
- 14:58That's the speech we're protecting.
- 15:01That's not two people having a debate.
- 15:03That's not a difference of opinion.
- 15:05That's an adult with authority over a child telling that child
- 15:09they're wrong for existing, and we just made that legal.
- 15:12He's focusing on, well, he's focusing on the gay argument,
- 15:15and this is just such. But also that's not telling them
- 15:19they're broken and they're wrong for existing is not the same
- 15:22thing as anything. I I would say it is.
- 15:26That's what conversion therapy is.
- 15:27That if you're telling them they're wrong for existing.
- 15:30As a gay person, yes. If you're telling someone
- 15:33they're wrong for that, it's wrong.
- 15:34To be they don't use those exact verbiage.
- 15:36But if being gay is fundamental to who you are, saying that it
- 15:40is wrong is saying that being that you existing as you
- 15:44actually are is wrong. I don't I think though that
- 15:47that's he's making it sound like they are telling you you
- 15:50shouldn't exist. You know how they say like 9
- 15:53are. Existing I'm about to live out.
- 15:55Oh my God, it's giving us woke king.
- 15:57I'm sorry, because that's exactly what they're saying.
- 16:01And you're saying that? If you were saying being gay is
- 16:03wrong to a gay person, you were telling me that my existence is
- 16:06wrong, yes. That one aspect of it not you
- 16:09categorically as a human. Well, one aspect of it, a very
- 16:13big one, it cannot be changed. If you were going to say that
- 16:16white that whiteness is wrong, you are saying that my existence
- 16:20is wrong, but having white skin is wrong.
- 16:24Well, it is. We've learned that.
- 16:27Well, now he's the woke one. Do you understand what I'm
- 16:30saying? I do.
- 16:30Understand what you're saying, but I think.
- 16:32I don't think we cat we should categorize fundamental parts of
- 16:35who we are and give grace to somebody saying this major part
- 16:39of you is wrong and then say, well, they're not saying you
- 16:42shouldn't exist. They're just saying, you know,
- 16:45maybe they'll say your hand is ugly, chop it off.
- 16:47You know what I mean? Like that's but they're.
- 16:48Not saying you shouldn't exist, they still want you to you.
- 16:51Shouldn't exist in in a natural state.
- 16:54You should try to. They want you to be different
- 16:56than how you are, but the same way if like, yes, yeah, but
- 16:59that's not the same as saying you shouldn't exist.
- 17:01It well existing implies that it is a natural state of being if
- 17:07you want to change something that is fundamental to the
- 17:09person. I get what you're saying, but it
- 17:13just feels like a caricature, like you're not telling them if
- 17:16he just. Said that might not be their
- 17:18intention. OK, that might not be their
- 17:20intention because they think that it can be changed.
- 17:22So their intention is not to have you cease to exist, but the
- 17:26reality of it. And the reality of them saying
- 17:29that who you are is wrong is them saying they don't want you
- 17:32to exist because even though they don't believe it's a
- 17:34fundamental part of who you are, I.
- 17:35Think they want you to make different in some of these
- 17:38cases, and this is where it gets complicated.
- 17:41They're actually not trying to in the law also says the
- 17:43original Colorado law says they can't even advocate that you
- 17:46change your practices. They can't even say like well,
- 17:50you should abstain from acting on your same sex attractions.
- 17:54Well, that's. Different and so part of what
- 17:57I'm saying is a lot in a lot of these cases they may not be
- 18:01telling you this is actually an issue within Christian world
- 18:04where some of these Christian communities take the approach
- 18:07that being same sex attracted is not sinful and is.
- 18:12But acting on it is. But you should choose to not act
- 18:16on it. And in that case, I think
- 18:17they're definitely not telling you that you're you shouldn't
- 18:20exist anyway. We're getting to show up on
- 18:22this. We should probably keep going.
- 18:24Yeah. Such a cool place we live in.
- 18:26You know what else is speech? A doctor telling a patient they
- 18:29don't need chemo when they do. We regulate that.
- 18:32We regulate harmful speech from licensed professionals
- 18:35constantly. Because when you're in a
- 18:37position of clinical authority over someone.
- 18:40Sorry, but he's. That's correct.
- 18:42This is true, but he's but the. Law is not written in a neutral
- 18:45tone. It is neutral to say that a
- 18:47patient shouldn't get chemo or that a patient should get
- 18:50chemotherapy if they have cancer, because it's objectively
- 18:54true. It's not the same thing as.
- 18:56It's not the same as. Oh, you're not allowed to tell a
- 18:58male patient that they're male? Yeah, yeah, that's very
- 19:02different. I'm focusing more on the gay
- 19:03part but. I guess I focused more on the
- 19:06gender part because I think that's like way way way more
- 19:10frequent and common now is therapists interacting with
- 19:13children discussing gender identity.
- 19:15I. Think a lot of.
- 19:16Times. Less We focus a lot on the
- 19:18gender stuff, but gay people get dragged down with it and I think
- 19:22it's important that we don't. I just wish they were separate
- 19:25together. I think I wish they were
- 19:26separate. I just don't think it's OK to
- 19:28accept gay people getting ripped down with these other craziness.
- 19:32That's the effect of putting them in the same law.
- 19:34Yeah, I know, I know. Your words aren't just words.
- 19:37They're interventions. They have effects.
- 19:39We hold you accountable for those effects.
- 19:43I'll just. Say one thing so the position of
- 19:45Colorado, for example, would also allow a state to pass a non
- 19:49viewpoint neutral. So a viewpoint explicit law that
- 19:52says it's illegal for a counselor to affirm a trans
- 19:56identity correct. And are they OK with that?
- 19:59I'm I wouldn't do not. Think I can see Tennessee doing
- 20:01that. Right.
- 20:02But I think that the counselors have a right to 1st Amendment
- 20:06expression about their viewpoint on this contentious, evolving
- 20:10issue. He doesn't.
- 20:11He thinks the only difference between that is that.
- 20:13I mean I guess everybody can concoct evidence to support
- 20:16their opinions but like their argument would be well we have
- 20:20clinical evidence to prove that non affirmation isn't good for
- 20:25them or something like. That well one, but that's
- 20:26actually not true and sure, so the other side thinks they have
- 20:29clinical evidence that it's not. I'm saying everybody comes up
- 20:32with their own evidence. That's.
- 20:33The problem with saying well, like with a free speech issue,
- 20:35you can't really say, well, there's evidence on this side
- 20:37because it's like judges are supposed to interpret the
- 20:40Constitution and the law, not settle which side has stronger
- 20:43evidence. Sure, but evidence does make
- 20:48things subject, or does make very subjective things lean a
- 20:52little bit more objective. Specifically with his cancer
- 20:55example. Yes, I do agree.
- 20:56But to conflate something like gender medicine with something
- 21:00that is so highly criticized and unstudied?
- 21:02And sometimes in these comparisons, it's just such a.
- 21:05Different model with just not apples to.
- 21:07Apples No. Facts.
- 21:10Except now, except for this, we have the research too. 10s of
- 21:14thousands of participants kids who went through conversion
- 21:17therapy have significantly higher rates of depression,
- 21:20anxiety and side attempt. So the problem is here.
- 21:24He's conflating. Gay conversion.
- 21:27Therapy. And he's convert conflating
- 21:29studies of treatments with talk therapy, which is what the case
- 21:33is about. You do not have the studies he
- 21:35just described applied to talk therapy about gender identity.
- 21:39And people who were. Talk therapy about sexuality.
- 21:41And the people who went through those treatments, guess what?
- 21:45Those treatments are now still banned in Colorado because the
- 21:47Supreme Court didn't say that those are allowed.
- 21:50Yeah, it's just you'd think that even if it was interesting, I
- 21:53saw a couple comments on this video being like, hey, supporter
- 21:55here, but like this isn't accurate to the case and this
- 21:58and that, and like you'd think they would just even understand
- 22:02the thing they're talking about more.
- 22:03No, what I've realized is anybody who is successful on
- 22:06social media has to either be purposefully ignorant or
- 22:09willfully or not purposely. Except for us.
- 22:13Well, that's why we only have 50,000 subscribers, yeah.
- 22:16Beside attempts, we are not debating this.
- 22:18The data is there. The court just decided it
- 22:20doesn't matter as much as the therapist's right to keep doing
- 22:24it. Bonkers.
- 22:26And by the way, this dropped on Transgender Day of Visibility.
- 22:29Oh. My God, what?
- 22:31You want the Supreme Court not to do their jobs because it's
- 22:33transgender? Day because of this like holiday
- 22:35y'all made-up five years ago. I'm sorry.
- 22:37They're not. Going to issue a rolling.
- 22:39This is so. Stupid, but they're I mean, this
- 22:41is so dumb. That's just a quirk of the
- 22:42calendar and they're not going to reschedule when court Supreme
- 22:46Court opinions are issued because of a holiday.
- 22:48This is actually something funny that we do this in the opposite
- 22:52direction. Like sometimes MAGA people will
- 22:53get upset about a quirk of the calendar, like Joe Biden, I
- 22:58think in his last year's president's declared trans
- 23:01visibility day or something on Easter and they got offended.
- 23:05But it was. Just it changes.
- 23:07Every year Easter changes every year, and there's just a set
- 23:09date for that day, so we just proclaimed that day.
- 23:11When I was like in my independent, like I don't know
- 23:14where I fall, I was like a year into being an independent and I
- 23:17remember seeing that and be like MAGA kind of crazy.
- 23:19Like it was just, it's just dumb.
- 23:21Like you, you're getting all worked up over a quirk of the
- 23:23calendar and it's ridiculous. So I it's This is also.
- 23:26That kind of the same thing. 8 justices, 1 dissent.
- 23:30Jackson, the only one who said out loud that states have always
- 23:33been able to regulate what licensed professionals do to
- 23:36patients. I do want to pause on that and
- 23:38say that that is intention with Justice Jackson and other
- 23:42liberal justices ruling about whether states could ban gender
- 23:47transition treatments where in those cases, and those were
- 23:51about actual treatments, not talk, not First Amendment.
- 23:55She completely agreed that she completely disagreed that states
- 24:00had the power to regulate medical treatments to minors.
- 24:03I remember that I think there might be a different legal
- 24:05reason as to why she. Doesn't there is OK, it is more
- 24:08complicated. I always refrain to like have
- 24:11strong opinions on the court unless I've read it because I
- 24:13just feel like it's very complex.
- 24:15But it's just interesting that he's suggesting, like what he's
- 24:20suggesting here, that everyone else just doesn't believe the
- 24:23ability the state has the ability to regulate medical
- 24:26procedures, though they do. They do.
- 24:28And that delivering harm through language doesn't make it not
- 24:32harm. She was right.
- 24:34That is such dumb claptrap because like.
- 24:36Yes, she was right. But she was also wrong.
- 24:38Because that's not what this case is arguing.
- 24:40That's arguing viewpoint discrimination.
- 24:42Right. But also this idea that, well,
- 24:44if you deliver harm through language, then it's regulatable.
- 24:48That's not a word, but you know what I mean.
- 24:50OK, well then free speech no longer exists because then a lot
- 24:53of people think that your words are harmful in lots of contexts
- 24:56and ways. I find this video harmful.
- 24:59The harm has to be quantifiable and have overwhelming evidence
- 25:03to support it. And right now, unfortunately, it
- 25:06is viewpoint discrimination because the majority of people
- 25:09don't believe that you can just walk in and say you identify as
- 25:11a cat. If everybody believed that, this
- 25:14wouldn't be viewpoint. I feel well actually even if 2%
- 25:18of society didn't, it would still be.
- 25:20Sure, but I'm saying when there is an overwhelming sentiment of
- 25:23something being wrong, it's not. I don't think we would have the
- 25:27same result as that the. Court.
- 25:29Maybe not, but I feel quantifiably harmed by his
- 25:31words. Because it wouldn't be the
- 25:33government trying, sure, yeah, so.
- 25:35But it wouldn't be the government trying to enforce a
- 25:37viewpoint on the population because they already held it.
- 25:41I get what you're saying, yeah. And she was alone, so that's
- 25:45great. There are kids in 30 states who
- 25:48just got a little less protected today.
- 25:50And the people who did that to them dressed it up in the
- 25:53Constitution and called it freedom.
- 25:55It is not freedom. It's a license to hurt children.
- 25:59We are so. I hate like the doom of every
- 26:02tik toker like they just sell fear porn but we are so.
- 26:06That's just the theme of every video.
- 26:08It's like. Everything is like is like shut
- 26:11up, go outside, get some sorry. I just, I do think people focus
- 26:16on the negative things happening all the time.
- 26:18And it's like even from this guy's perspective, it's still
- 26:23been like never been better in human existence other than maybe
- 26:27five years ago to be gay, right? Like it's still the world is
- 26:30still a better place and becoming a better place in a lot
- 26:33of ways. Lots of good things are
- 26:34happening too. This this whole doom and gloom
- 26:36obsession. And this is not just a woke
- 26:39thing. Like you see this everywhere.
- 26:41Civilization is doing different this election.
- 26:43We don't pass this bill. It's like, take a deep breath.
- 26:46But The thing is if if we actually recognize how good
- 26:48everything is, people get bored. Yeah, well you have to create
- 26:52trouble in. Order to appreciate good things.
- 26:54That's just like human psychology.
- 26:56I get it. But but also like that's.
- 26:57For dishonesty. We're bragging on him but like I
- 26:59should probably take a note out of his book because me just
- 27:02giving factual like explanations flops.
- 27:05I get no views. But doing this kind of shit gets
- 27:08you 3,000,000 followers a pair. Yeah.
- 27:09So I'm just going to start telling everybody that.
- 27:12When you say the other video, I'm just gonna start.
- 27:14Lying. I'm gonna lie more.
- 27:15Yeah, well, I've actually committed to that bit.
- 27:18I'm not. You're not.
- 27:19Allowed to I need to learn how to lie a little bit for my own
- 27:22success. I can't ruin every opportunity I
- 27:24have because I tell somebody that they look like I have to
- 27:28lie. I think it's funnier when you
