- 0:30Speaker 2: So to continue to react to breaking news this morning,
- 0:33Speaker 2: we have Brandon Wikert, an independent journalist and analyst of
- 0:37Speaker 2: the Wiker Report the Wiker Brief over on Sebstack. Let
- 0:40Speaker 2: me get the name right. Great to see you, brandonca Man.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Thank you for having me as always.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Yeah, it's our it's our pleasure. Wanted to get you
- 0:46Speaker 2: to react to both. Trump has just made some comments
- 0:50Speaker 2: on Fox News, but also he put this out on
- 0:53Speaker 2: True Social. If we could put this back up onto
- 0:55Speaker 2: the screen, guys here he is threatening to hit Aron again.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Very hard tonight. At some point in the not too
- 1:02Speaker 2: distant future, will be taking carg Island and other oil
- 1:06Speaker 2: infrastructure points and assumed total control of the oil and
- 1:09Speaker 2: gas markets, much like we have with Venezuela. He also
- 1:12Speaker 2: called into Fox and Friends this morning and still threatening
- 1:17Speaker 2: carg Island, but saying he's not sure that the country
- 1:20Speaker 2: has the stomach for such an operation.
- 1:22Speaker 4: Let's go ahead and take a listen to that.
- 1:24Speaker 5: Look, my preference has always been take carg Island. That's
- 1:26Speaker 5: been Brian knows that. I spoke to him a long
- 1:28Speaker 5: time agoint. Lawrence knows it. I spoke to him a
- 1:31Speaker 5: long time ago. I said, my preference would be that
- 1:34Speaker 5: I don't know that America has the stomach for it
- 1:36Speaker 5: to be honest with you and to make a fortune.
- 1:38Speaker 5: But I don't know that America has the stomach. I
- 1:41Speaker 5: think I'd like to see us come home. But we
- 1:43Speaker 5: did it with venezuel and Venezuela has worked out great
- 1:46Speaker 5: for everybody. We've taken millions and millions of barrels of
- 1:49Speaker 5: oil out of Venezuela. We've put them to Houston and
- 1:52Speaker 5: various other places Louisiana where you know refineries that we
- 1:58Speaker 5: have that they are incredible. They're going twenty four hours
- 2:00Speaker 5: a day making a fortune, and you know, I like
- 2:04Speaker 5: that in this case too. But I'm not sure that
- 2:07Speaker 5: America has a long time you know, it's it's a
- 2:11Speaker 5: little longer process something that's a guarantee if I want
- 2:14Speaker 5: to do it, mister Press, not sure the country has
- 2:17Speaker 5: the appetite for it. Does that make sense to you.
- 2:20Speaker 5: I understand where good as it is, by the way,
- 2:22Speaker 5: as good as it is, that's always been my number
- 2:25Speaker 5: one thing. But as good as it is, I'm not
- 2:28Speaker 5: sure the country has the appetite for it. And that's okay.
- 2:30Speaker 5: I understand that.
- 2:31Speaker 2: So brandon your reaction to these new threats from the President.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Well, it's not just the US mility. I'm sorry, the
- 2:38Speaker 3: US population that doesn't have the stomach for what would
- 2:42Speaker 3: be an invasion of Iran. Carg Island is technically part
- 2:46Speaker 3: of Iran, and to take it, quote unquote, you have
- 2:49Speaker 3: to put boots on the ground. It's not just the
- 2:52Speaker 3: people here who don't want this. It's the American military.
- 2:55Speaker 3: The Pentagon has been telling him, mister President, we cannot
- 2:59Speaker 3: guarantee any semblance of success if we land the forces
- 3:03Speaker 3: we currently have deployed to Carg Island and the President,
- 3:07Speaker 3: just like the run up to the war, the President
- 3:10Speaker 3: is not listening to his own hand picked Joint chiefs
- 3:13Speaker 3: of Staff, Generals Dan Raisin Kane was plucked out of
- 3:17Speaker 3: retirement from a very cushy aerospace job making a lot
- 3:20Speaker 3: of money there by Trump to run the Pentagon's military.
- 3:25Speaker 3: You know, they're jcs, and he has been telling them,
- 3:29Speaker 3: mister President, this is not gonna work out, and Trump
- 3:32Speaker 3: is not listening. Trump doesn't care. He's in full blown
- 3:35Speaker 3: LBJ mode. He thinks that landing marines that'll do the trick,
- 3:40Speaker 3: just like LBJ did in sixty five. Ho Chi Minh
- 3:43Speaker 3: will throw down his guns and I can start building
- 3:45Speaker 3: him schools. It's not gonna work. It didn't work then,
- 3:48Speaker 3: it's not gonna work now because this enemy we're fighting
- 3:51Speaker 3: is deeply dedicated to their cause. And you know, our cause,
- 3:56Speaker 3: I'm not really sure what it is. I guess it's
- 3:58Speaker 3: we're trying to make some money. I don't really know
- 4:01Speaker 3: what even our cause is here, but we're gonna land
- 4:03Speaker 3: troops apparently, because when he says we're gonna take Carg,
- 4:06Speaker 3: it's not just a bombardment all right, he's talking about
- 4:09Speaker 3: restarting as that tweet was showing restarting oil production. Just
- 4:14Speaker 3: so everybody understands, carg is deep inside the Straight of Hormos.
- 4:19Speaker 3: The Straight of Hormoves is locked down right now. The
- 4:22Speaker 3: US Navy has barely been able to get any of
- 4:25Speaker 3: its ships through there. So in order to land marines,
- 4:29Speaker 3: you're gonna need to have amphibious landers move into the
- 4:33Speaker 3: very contested Straight of hor Moves, sit there on load
- 4:36Speaker 3: troops and equipment, and it's gonna be Gallipoli, just like
- 4:40Speaker 3: in World War One. If this is it'll be our Gallipoli,
- 4:43Speaker 3: and it's not gonna end well. And I think the
- 4:45Speaker 3: Iranians will probably let them land because this is the
- 4:49Speaker 3: Persian this is the Persian mindset, This is how they
- 4:51Speaker 3: this is what they do, this is what they did
- 4:52Speaker 3: to Crasses. They're gonna let them land, and then they're
- 4:56Speaker 3: gonna wait for us to unload. All of our stuff
- 4:59Speaker 3: gets settled, and and all of a sudden, you're going
- 5:01Speaker 3: to see tens of thousands of shah Head drones every day,
- 5:04Speaker 3: swarm upon swarm. You're going to see swarms of missiles,
- 5:08Speaker 3: you know, landing on these guys. This is going to
- 5:10Speaker 3: be a disaster of unmitigated proportions. So it isn't just
- 5:13Speaker 3: a question of stomach of the American people. It's a
- 5:16Speaker 3: question of the ability of the US military, which is
- 5:19Speaker 3: very limited right now because of the target. And also,
- 5:22Speaker 3: by the way, this is coming from a guy the president.
- 5:24Speaker 3: Neither he nor his sons have ever served, so they
- 5:27Speaker 3: have no connection to what's going to happen for the
- 5:29Speaker 3: families of these troops and these marines when they land
- 5:32Speaker 3: and they get killed.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Yeah, Brandon, you're taking this very seriously, and this is
- 5:36Speaker 1: the big debate now that we've had. We actually just
- 5:38Speaker 1: spoke with Professor Said Morandi from the University of Tehran
- 5:42Speaker 1: on the ground in Tehran. He laughed, Actually, whenever we
- 5:45Speaker 1: read him the truth Social post that he's not taking
- 5:47Speaker 1: it seriously. You are well.
- 5:49Speaker 4: He also said, we want them to come, Yeah, we
- 5:53Speaker 4: want them to come.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Yeah, this is yet I want them to come, he said,
- 5:56Speaker 1: we will.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Remember this is what the North Vietnamese were saying they
- 5:58Speaker 3: wanted in ninety sixty five and Ayodring. They wanted the
- 6:02Speaker 3: Americans to land. They wanted to kill Americans. That's what
- 6:05Speaker 3: they wanted very badly, and we gave it to them
- 6:08Speaker 3: and we killed a lot of them. But guess what
- 6:10Speaker 3: we didn't We didn't win that war. And yeah, so Mirandi,
- 6:14Speaker 3: you know he's he's on the ground. Uh you know,
- 6:17Speaker 3: so he you know, he wants us to land. That
- 6:19Speaker 3: should give us pause. You don't want to do what
- 6:21Speaker 3: your enemy wants. You want to be unpredictable in this way,
- 6:26Speaker 3: not the way Trump's been doing it. But you don't
- 6:27Speaker 3: want to You don't want to follow the pattern that
- 6:29Speaker 3: they're prepared for because that means they've laid enough defenses.
- 6:32Speaker 3: I'm taking it very seriously because Trump has no idea
- 6:35Speaker 3: what the f he's doing.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Well, this is the this is the age old question. Though,
- 6:38Speaker 1: Why don't you think that it's just another negotiating play.
- 6:40Speaker 1: I mean, literally, the day of civilization's end going to
- 6:43Speaker 1: end tonight. We have a ceasefire. Now, obviously the ceasefire
- 6:46Speaker 1: is fake. Two days ago, the White House would have
- 6:48Speaker 1: called his pannikins for saying that. Now Trump just says
- 6:49Speaker 1: it out loud. He's like, it was the most violated
- 6:51Speaker 1: seasefire in history. We agree, sir. We were saying that
- 6:53Speaker 1: too the whole time, while you were also denigrating us.
- 6:56Speaker 1: But Brandon, just walk us through the mindset here, in particular,
- 7:00Speaker 1: you know, with the Israel connection, the lobby, and where
- 7:03Speaker 1: he's being pushed right now, Well.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Let's just start with the baseline here. Every aspect of
- 7:08Speaker 3: the ceasefire has been a fake lie. It's been a lie.
- 7:11Speaker 3: So why assume now that suddenly, oh now, this is
- 7:15Speaker 3: going to be the turning of the corner to serious negotiations.
- 7:18Speaker 3: It is not. Second of all, the issue here now
- 7:23Speaker 3: is the straight of hormoose itself. What does it represent.
- 7:26Speaker 3: It is the basically the jugular of the global economy.
- 7:30Speaker 3: It is twenty percent of the oil, eighteen percent, I
- 7:32Speaker 3: think about eighteen percent of the natural gas, one third
- 7:36Speaker 3: of the world's agricultural supplies, notably urehea and fertilizer. All
- 7:41Speaker 3: of that's choked up right now since basically the beginning
- 7:44Speaker 3: of the war. Trump knows because last week Politico reported this.
- 7:49Speaker 3: All the American oil CEOs trundled up to the White
- 7:52Speaker 3: House on Friday afternoon last week and said, mister President,
- 7:57Speaker 3: we are reaching bottom of the barrel, beginning as early
- 7:59Speaker 3: as July fourth weekend. Happy two hundred and fiftieth anniversary
- 8:03Speaker 3: America and Trump I think is secretly panicking because if
- 8:06Speaker 3: he doesn't get the oil flows restored like now, then
- 8:10Speaker 3: suddenly all of his bs becomes recognized and the whole
- 8:15Speaker 3: economy collapses, and he can't, you know, goose the system
- 8:18Speaker 3: anymore with all of his rhetorics. So I think he's
- 8:20Speaker 3: trying very hard to figure out, how do I restore
- 8:23Speaker 3: the oil flows? So whatever economic pain there is, it's
- 8:26Speaker 3: short lived. And I think his solution here is the
- 8:29Speaker 3: insane one. It's, oh, we're gonna have to take carg
- 8:31Speaker 3: Island and land troops there and restart the oil and
- 8:34Speaker 3: we'll just intercept all that oil and redirect it and
- 8:37Speaker 3: that'll be and we'll do sea control from carg Island.
- 8:41Speaker 3: This is nuts. And also you mentioned the Israeli connection.
- 8:44Speaker 3: What I've been saying this from the beginning. Look, Benjamin
- 8:47Speaker 3: Nett Nyaho does not want a deal, and it's not
- 8:51Speaker 3: even I mean, greater Israel is what they all talk about,
- 8:54Speaker 3: you know, ideologically in the LIQUD Party, but really for
- 8:57Speaker 3: Netan Yahoo, it's baser. Nyaho has to survive politically. He
- 9:02Speaker 3: knows if the wars end, then suddenly the legal system
- 9:06Speaker 3: in Israel comes for him for all the alleged corruption,
- 9:09Speaker 3: and then the political alleged issues start arising because people
- 9:12Speaker 3: are to say, what happened on ten seven. There's never
- 9:14Speaker 3: been a proper accounting within the Israeli system for what
- 9:18Speaker 3: happened on ten seven. So keep the wars going that
- 9:22Speaker 3: Nyaho wins because he can keep deferring that action against him.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Yeah, and he, you know, is facing a sort of
- 9:28Speaker 2: existential threat politically, not that we would expect the new
- 9:31Speaker 2: government to be really that much substantively different from the
- 9:34Speaker 2: way that he's conducted himself, but for him, you know,
- 9:37Speaker 2: he is firmly committed first and foremost to maintaining his
- 9:41Speaker 2: own power and will do whatever he needs to do
- 9:44Speaker 2: to blow up a deal so that he doesn't have
- 9:46Speaker 2: his own political career destroyed. To your point about Trump's
- 9:50Speaker 2: desperation in this moment, which you read as being very
- 9:53Speaker 2: much related to potential imminent economic fallout, I wanted to
- 9:58Speaker 2: get your.
- 9:58Speaker 4: Reaction to this report, sy hirsh if we can put C.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Three up on the screen where he claims to have
- 10:04Speaker 2: spoken with an insider source with extensive knowledge who said
- 10:09Speaker 2: that Trump has contemplated using a low yield nuclear weapon
- 10:16Speaker 2: to destroy some of Iran's underground missile factories. I was
- 10:19Speaker 2: told by someone with extensive knowledge of nuclear weaponry it
- 10:21Speaker 2: was a very scary and very serious moment. President was
- 10:24Speaker 2: depicted at this point to be desperate not to lose
- 10:27Speaker 2: in Iran. His idea was to warn the Iranian leadership,
- 10:30Speaker 2: we are very seriously considering such an escalation. I was
- 10:33Speaker 2: told the President apparently was talked out of any thought
- 10:37Speaker 2: of nuclear escalation. Do you find this plausible? Have you
- 10:41Speaker 2: heard any rumblings similarly in this direction?
- 10:44Speaker 3: You know, it's funny when when your producer asked if
- 10:46Speaker 3: I was available today, I was last night. I was
- 10:50Speaker 3: going to bring this plane to bring this up. You know,
- 10:52Speaker 3: whether you did or not, because this is not the
- 10:55Speaker 3: first time the president of the United States, specifically Donald
- 10:58Speaker 3: Trump has in his two terms, brought up the prospect
- 11:02Speaker 3: of using nuclear weapons. If you remember in twenty sixteen,
- 11:06Speaker 3: and at the time, we all on the right kind
- 11:08Speaker 3: of laughed because it was Joe Scarborough saying it. But
- 11:11Speaker 3: I have the SoundBite. I tweeted it recently Joe Scarborough
- 11:15Speaker 3: in early twenty sixteen, or I'm sorry, early in the
- 11:18Speaker 3: president's first year of his first term. He said that
- 11:20Speaker 3: the President was asking his top advisors, why can't we
- 11:25Speaker 3: just use nukes to end these problems with all these
- 11:28Speaker 3: countries we have, and his advisor's madison them at the time.
- 11:31Speaker 3: We're saying it as the president, that's not what we
- 11:32Speaker 3: use nukes for. So it's very much believable that, in
- 11:37Speaker 3: his desperation and his naivete let's face it, Trump is
- 11:41Speaker 3: a real estate developer from Manhattan turned reality TV star
- 11:46Speaker 3: and playboy. He is not a foreign policy military analyst,
- 11:51Speaker 3: and he doesn't have anybody around him this time who
- 11:54Speaker 3: actually understands this stuff. He's got all the sea pack
- 11:57Speaker 3: you know, rejects. These guys are not These guys are
- 12:00Speaker 3: not able to tell him the truth. So he is
- 12:02Speaker 3: he's flailing, and this is a very scary moment because
- 12:06Speaker 3: he's not wrong when he says, you know, the low
- 12:09Speaker 3: yield nukes would collapse those underground facilities, because that's the
- 12:12Speaker 3: real problem we're facing. We can't knock those out. And
- 12:14Speaker 3: as long as we can't knock those out, they're gonna
- 12:16Speaker 3: in Iran keep popping off your missiles and all this
- 12:19Speaker 3: other stuff. But of course it's also crazy because if
- 12:22Speaker 3: you use low yield nukes to knock these things out.
- 12:25Speaker 3: You've just basically authorized the world to say, Okay, we're
- 12:29Speaker 3: gonna start using low yield nukes for these tactical situations.
- 12:33Speaker 3: What's gonna stop Russia, what's gonna stop China?
- 12:36Speaker 1: They would do it within twenty four hours. Twenty four hours.
- 12:39Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, it's like, this is crazy talk. And
- 12:42Speaker 3: then also, by the way, we can't write off the
- 12:44Speaker 3: possibility that Iran does have some rudimentary nuclear capability. And look,
- 12:50Speaker 3: they might have their own Samson option, you know, Israel.
- 12:53Speaker 3: If Israel's gonna collapse, they have this plan to hit
- 12:55Speaker 3: everybody with their nukes before they fall. Who's to say
- 12:58Speaker 3: Iran hasn't quietly developed similar capability. They would be very
- 13:02Speaker 3: easy for them to send a dirty bomb at least
- 13:05Speaker 3: through their proxies and Hesbala or wherever. And if we
- 13:09Speaker 3: nuke them, they're just gonna nuke somewhere in Europe or
- 13:12Speaker 3: the United States, because hey, it doesn't matter anymore. You know,
- 13:16Speaker 3: we can't discount that. This is not the way to go.
- 13:20Speaker 3: This is this is like we're talking now, you know,
- 13:23Speaker 3: talk about Panikin. I would say the Panikin is the
- 13:25Speaker 3: guy who February twenty seventh, Everything's going relatively well, and
- 13:29Speaker 3: then he decides, oh my gosh, the Iranians are gonna
- 13:32Speaker 3: get They're gonna end the world in two weeks now,
- 13:34Speaker 3: we got to go to World War three. That sounds panicky.
- 13:37Speaker 3: That sounds like a panikin. And I would say that
- 13:39Speaker 3: the president is right now the biggest panikin of the mall.
- 13:41Speaker 4: This sounds like a fool tomame.
- 13:43Speaker 1: It's just it's literally flailing all around.
- 13:45Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, because it's not his war, it's this
- 13:48Speaker 3: is Netanyahuo's war, and he's allowed himself to become the
- 13:50Speaker 3: junior partner.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Right and you know, kind of zooming in on that.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Originally why we had a book before we knew any
- 13:58Speaker 1: of this nonsense happening. Let's put see one up here
- 14:01Speaker 1: on the screen. You did such a good job of
- 14:03Speaker 1: breaking down the ndaa's attempt to further link the United
- 14:08Speaker 1: States military and the Israeli military. There's been an update
- 14:11Speaker 1: to that that the Senate also wants to force the
- 14:14Speaker 1: United States to share sensitive intel with Israel. Can you
- 14:17Speaker 1: break that down for us?
- 14:18Speaker 3: Yeah, And I broke that, you know, I actually did
- 14:21Speaker 3: a separate post US on six twenty two, which is
- 14:23Speaker 3: Intelligence Authorization Act. And actually, I think the more because
- 14:27Speaker 3: I read Pillars Piece last last night. The more I
- 14:30Speaker 3: think about it, the more I'm wondering if the NDAA
- 14:32Speaker 3: thing was kind of a weird feint, because the really
- 14:37Speaker 3: important thing for Israel is the intelligence access. Yeah, they
- 14:40Speaker 3: want the technology and whatnot, that's an added benefit, but
- 14:43Speaker 3: Israel needs access to our intel. And the one thing
- 14:47Speaker 3: I know from talking to guys like doctor Michael Schuyer,
- 14:50Speaker 3: talking to John Kiriaku, talking to a bunch of people
- 14:53Speaker 3: former CIA hands, is the CIA is very serious about
- 14:57Speaker 3: playing keep away. I mean John Radcliff, the Director is not,
- 15:01Speaker 3: but the permanent kind of bureaucrats in CIA, the lifers
- 15:05Speaker 3: are very committed to keeping a lot of the intel
- 15:07Speaker 3: they collect away from Israel because Israel will turn around
- 15:11Speaker 3: and use that intel to disrupt OUR operations in order
- 15:16Speaker 3: for them to gain some kind of leverage elsewhere. We
- 15:18Speaker 3: saw this with Jonathan Pollard. But I think that's six
- 15:22Speaker 3: twenty two of the Intel Authorization Act that already went
- 15:25Speaker 3: through the Senate that May twentieth. Is my understanding is
- 15:28Speaker 3: it got out of the Senate, so now it's waiting
- 15:30Speaker 3: for the next phases of you know, the legislation process,
- 15:34Speaker 3: but nobody really paid attention to it. Everybody was talking
- 15:36Speaker 3: about the NDAA, which is why I went back and
- 15:39Speaker 3: I see that that Paul Pillar went back and was like,
- 15:42Speaker 3: wait a second. The bigger issue here is if you
- 15:45Speaker 3: fuse which is what this calls for, the intelligence sharing.
- 15:49Speaker 3: So it's basically elevating the Massad and Israeli intelligence services
- 15:54Speaker 3: from what's known as a transactional partner, where it's limited
- 15:57Speaker 3: in finite what we give them because we wreckoncognize that
- 16:00Speaker 3: they're an espionage threat, and you elevate them to a
- 16:03Speaker 3: trusted partner on the level of the Five Eyes, so
- 16:06Speaker 3: that's UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and they basically become
- 16:13Speaker 3: like one of the members of the Anglo sphere. Now
- 16:15Speaker 3: I have my own problems with Five Eyes going back
- 16:17Speaker 3: to Russia Gate, but ultimately, ultimately the fact is I
- 16:22Speaker 3: trust the British more than I trust the Israelis when
- 16:25Speaker 3: it comes to intel sharing. I trust the Canadians more
- 16:29Speaker 3: than the Israelis. And we now have that DEA report
- 16:33Speaker 3: claiming that they are a critical counter intelligence threat, which
- 16:38Speaker 3: puts them on the same level as Russian and Chinese
- 16:41Speaker 3: intelligence services. And this act by the Senate, if it
- 16:44Speaker 3: goes through all the way, and I think it might
- 16:47Speaker 3: because nobody's talking about it except me and you and
- 16:49Speaker 3: a couple other people. If this thing goes through Israeli
- 16:52Speaker 3: intelligence is now it's open kimono for the Israeli intelligence.
- 16:56Speaker 3: They don't have to ask anymore. They just gain access.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Crazy crazy to think about, and ties the hands of
- 17:02Speaker 2: a future. You know, the current executive branch probably doesn't
- 17:04Speaker 2: have a problem with this, but ties the hand of
- 17:06Speaker 2: any future, you know, because you see the reckoning that's
- 17:09Speaker 2: happening at the American public. So talk about why this
- 17:12Speaker 2: is happening now.
- 17:14Speaker 3: Yeah, and I mentioned that in my essay too, Which
- 17:16Speaker 3: is that another thing? Because it becomes an Act of
- 17:19Speaker 3: Congress right now, it's an executive agreement, a series of
- 17:23Speaker 3: executive agreements between the United States and the Israelis. So
- 17:27Speaker 3: if a president wants to say, turn off the spickett
- 17:31Speaker 3: a little bit more in intel sharing with Israel, because
- 17:34Speaker 3: of how much of a prevalent counterintelligence threat it is,
- 17:37Speaker 3: they could do that. No must, no fuss, and the
- 17:39Speaker 3: Israelis just have to put up with it. Until the
- 17:41Speaker 3: next president comes in this Senate Intelligence Authorization Act for
- 17:46Speaker 3: next year. If it passes, that takes that capability out
- 17:50Speaker 3: of the president's hand, whoever the president is. So you
- 17:53Speaker 3: bring up the young people on the left very much
- 17:56Speaker 3: no longer pro Israel. The young people on the right
- 17:59Speaker 3: are very skeptic of Israel. Now there's a bipartisan growing
- 18:03Speaker 3: consensus that we need to distance from Israel and rethink
- 18:06Speaker 3: the alliance. And the Israelis are savvy enough to detect that,
- 18:09Speaker 3: and they know that it's the young people, the next
- 18:11Speaker 3: generation that's saying this. So they're trying to lock in
- 18:15Speaker 3: as much of their alliance with the United States, the
- 18:18Speaker 3: twenty Year Memorandum of Understanding for AID. They're trying to
- 18:22Speaker 3: do the NDAA where they have permanent access to the INTEL,
- 18:25Speaker 3: I mean to the defense base. And now with this, basically,
- 18:28Speaker 3: the next president, if it's a Democrat, especially because we
- 18:31Speaker 3: know the Democrats do not want to have any real
- 18:33Speaker 3: ties with Israel except maybe you know, Nancy Pelosi's generation.
- 18:37Speaker 3: But if it's a Democrat that takes power, that Democrat
- 18:41Speaker 3: president now is not going to have the same freedom
- 18:43Speaker 3: of action that the previous presidents had to say, you
- 18:46Speaker 3: know what, Israel, I don't like what you're doing here.
- 18:48Speaker 3: We're going to turn that spiicckett of intel sharing off.
- 18:50Speaker 3: It was now going to be open kimono all the time.
- 18:54Speaker 2: Wild wild stuff going on. Brandon, thank you so much
- 18:57Speaker 2: for your analysis on all of these things, reacting so
- 19:00Speaker 2: quickly to the news that's breaking this morning.
- 19:02Speaker 3: Thanks for having me.
- 19:03Speaker 4: It's our pleasure.
- 19:07Speaker 2: So in the midst of all of this, Trump got
- 19:09Speaker 2: asked yesterday about how this is all working out economically
- 19:13Speaker 2: for Americans. There was a very hot inflation report that
- 19:15Speaker 2: Emily and Ryan covered on the show. And you will
- 19:18Speaker 2: not believe what the President had in response to a
- 19:22Speaker 2: question about this inflation.
- 19:23Speaker 4: Let's take a listen.
- 19:24Speaker 6: You can service to President about the latest inflation number
- 19:27Speaker 6: which came out this morning. Could that be a no?
- 19:29Speaker 7: I love it the numbers.
- 19:32Speaker 1: You know what I really love.
- 19:33Speaker 7: I love the inflation that you know why because as
- 19:35Speaker 7: soon as this war is over, you know, I can
- 19:38Speaker 7: say it now something you didn't know? Do you know?
- 19:41Speaker 7: We've been taking out millions of barrels of oil. Nobody
- 19:46Speaker 7: knows it. You know who doesn't know about it? Iran?
- 19:49Speaker 7: Until right now, we've took out the other night, twenty
- 19:53Speaker 7: two ships late at night with no lights because they
- 19:56Speaker 7: don't have any radar, because we've blasted the crap out
- 19:58Speaker 7: of it. We took out. That's why oil's eighty five
- 20:02Speaker 7: dollars a barrel. I mean, you take a look. Remember
- 20:05Speaker 7: when I did this. I said, look, the one bad
- 20:07Speaker 7: thing will be we hit the best economy we've ever hit.
- 20:12Speaker 7: And I said to my people, had Scott, I had Howard,
- 20:15Speaker 7: I had Pete, I hit all of them. I had
- 20:17Speaker 7: Todd in the room. I said, the one thing we
- 20:21Speaker 7: have to do now. We had just hit the highest
- 20:23Speaker 7: stock market in history, highest four oh one case in history.
- 20:28Speaker 7: Everything was going well, and I said, I hate to
- 20:31Speaker 7: do this to you guys, but Ram's going to have
- 20:32Speaker 7: a nuclear weapon very soon.
- 20:34Speaker 2: So he literally says the numbers were great, and I
- 20:38Speaker 2: love the inflation, and then pivots to talking about this
- 20:43Speaker 2: supposed scheme that is getting some small percentage of barrels
- 20:46Speaker 2: of oil through the.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Straight up I love inflation. Somebody can back that up with.
- 20:51Speaker 1: What else? Did he say? I don't care about I
- 20:53Speaker 1: don't think about Americans. Fine, oh well we have that.
- 20:56Speaker 2: We can do a little trip down memory lane because
- 20:58Speaker 2: This is far from the first in mainly honest actually
- 21:02Speaker 2: but disgusting thing that he has said about the finances
- 21:05Speaker 2: of Americans. So the latest is I love the inflation,
- 21:09Speaker 2: great bumper sticker for Republicans, I think going into the midterms.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Previously he said, well, we can't have childcare because we've
- 21:15Speaker 2: got to pay for these wars. And also, by the way,
- 21:18Speaker 2: I don't think about American's financial situation whatsoever.
- 21:21Speaker 4: This is d one c. Let's take a listen.
- 21:23Speaker 8: Don't send any money for daycare because the United States
- 21:27Speaker 8: can't take care of daycare. That has to be up
- 21:30Speaker 8: to a state. We can't take care of daycare. We're
- 21:33Speaker 8: a big country, we have fifty states, we have all
- 21:36Speaker 8: these other people who are fighting wars. We can't take
- 21:39Speaker 8: care of daycare. You got to let us state take
- 21:41Speaker 8: care of daycare. And they should pay for it too.
- 21:44Speaker 8: They should pay They have to raise their taxes, but
- 21:47Speaker 8: they should pay for it. And we could lower our
- 21:49Speaker 8: taxes a little bit to.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Them to make up.
- 21:51Speaker 8: But it's not possible for us to take care of daycare. Medicaid, Medicare,
- 21:56Speaker 8: all these individual things, they can do it or a basis,
- 22:00Speaker 8: you can't do it in a fidual. We have to
- 22:02Speaker 8: take care of one thing, military protection. We have to
- 22:05Speaker 8: guard the country. But all these little things, all these
- 22:08Speaker 8: little scams that have taken place, all you have to
- 22:12Speaker 8: you have to let states take care of them, Russell,
- 22:14Speaker 8: and you have to do it.
- 22:16Speaker 4: We're are devotiating with Iran and the president.
- 22:18Speaker 2: What extent our American financials has making motivating you to.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Make a kneel, Not even a little bit.
- 22:25Speaker 8: The only thing that matters is when I'm talking about Iran,
- 22:28Speaker 8: they can't.
- 22:28Speaker 5: Have a nuclear weapon.
- 22:29Speaker 8: I don't think about American financial situation.
- 22:33Speaker 5: I don't think about anybody. I think about one thing.
- 22:36Speaker 2: I don't think about American's financial situation. It's incredible he
- 22:40Speaker 2: even has an approval writing in the thirties. At this point,
- 22:42Speaker 2: he's really trying to make himself the most hated president,
- 22:46Speaker 2: perhaps maybe the most hated person in American history.
- 22:48Speaker 1: I think for him what he just I think, I
- 22:51Speaker 1: genuinely think any political skill is gone gone. I think
- 22:55Speaker 1: that this has scrambled him to his core because I
- 22:58Speaker 1: think this is the first time ever very Lbjasque, the
- 23:01Speaker 1: bullshit master, the domestic political comeback kid, multiple time survivor,
- 23:07Speaker 1: got too big for his bridges and stumbled into one
- 23:10Speaker 1: of the most historic strategic disasters in US history. And
- 23:14Speaker 1: then every aspect in fact, we're gonna talk about Epstein.
- 23:17Speaker 1: In both cases they have something in common. Every single
- 23:20Speaker 1: tactic that they tried to use did not work, and
- 23:23Speaker 1: there's a reason for it. I think that reality is
- 23:26Speaker 1: one of the few times. This is one of the
- 23:28Speaker 1: few times reality has truly caught up with him. On
- 23:30Speaker 1: the Epstein stuff. It's like, dude, you and your whole
- 23:32Speaker 1: administration said you were going to release them. Now you're
- 23:34Speaker 1: covering it up. There's just there's no getting around it.
- 23:38Speaker 1: And in fact, as you know, in a preview of
- 23:40Speaker 1: the Epstein story, they were like, well, he's bullshit. I've
- 23:44Speaker 1: seen him survive everything. I'm like, well, why can't he
- 23:46Speaker 1: survive this. It's like, well, he can't survive it because
- 23:50Speaker 1: his name is in it. And he said I was
- 23:51Speaker 1: going to release him, and I think with iron he said,
- 23:53Speaker 1: I'm gonna collapse him. It's gonna be greatvictory. It's gonna
- 23:55Speaker 1: be like Venezuela. We're here over one hundred days later.
- 23:58Speaker 1: It is a disaster. Thirteen Americans are dead. The price
- 24:00Speaker 1: of well, I don't need to go through the whole list. Yeah,
- 24:02Speaker 1: so the only way is that you just deny, deny, deny,
- 24:05Speaker 1: you attack, attack, attack. And I think that what he
- 24:07Speaker 1: has done now has backed himself into this corner where
- 24:10Speaker 1: he has to say this type of insane shit because
- 24:12Speaker 1: it's existential now for him for his legacy. By the way,
- 24:15Speaker 1: that's terrifying because when you say start to say things
- 24:17Speaker 1: like I don't love inflation, I don't think about American's
- 24:20Speaker 1: financial situation, you are post politics in a way because
- 24:23Speaker 1: it's the second term. Ye, you have nothing to worry about.
- 24:25Speaker 1: He doesn't care about them in terms, and he definitely
- 24:27Speaker 1: doesn't care about Jade Vans or Marco Rubio. He can
- 24:29Speaker 1: give two shits about them. He wants his name on
- 24:31Speaker 1: he wants to face on Mount Rushmore. And if he
- 24:33Speaker 1: doesn't corve it it there himself, you know, he thinks
- 24:36Speaker 1: this is the only way he's going to get it.
- 24:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:37Speaker 2: He wants to leave a lasting mark on the world.
- 24:41Speaker 2: And you know that is driving I think a lot
- 24:46Speaker 2: of the way that he whether it's the ballroom or
- 24:48Speaker 2: whether it's trying to remake the entire entire Middle.
- 24:51Speaker 4: East through threat and through force.
- 24:54Speaker 2: That is what he's focused on, and when he tells
- 24:56Speaker 2: you he doesn't think about your financial situation at all,
- 25:00Speaker 2: being honest and just judging by his actions, I think
- 25:03Speaker 2: that is absolutely accurate. Leaves it to, you know, Republicans
- 25:07Speaker 2: to then go out, oh, I know, we didn't mean that,
- 25:10Speaker 2: and now it was taken out of context.
- 25:11Speaker 4: Blah blah blah. So here's the latest iteration of that.
- 25:14Speaker 2: And by the way, I called this the moment Trump
- 25:16Speaker 2: said this, I said, Republicier and get asked about this,
- 25:18Speaker 2: they're going to say, oh, he was taken out of
- 25:20Speaker 2: context by the fake news media. Blah blah blah. Let's
- 25:22Speaker 2: take a listen to what Speaker Mike Johnson has to say.
- 25:25Speaker 1: I cannot I k somebody who's gonna ask me that
- 25:28Speaker 1: it was totally out of context. You know what he
- 25:30Speaker 1: was talking about the last does that voters want to
- 25:32Speaker 1: hear right now?
- 25:33Speaker 9: No, the president is laser focused on the domestic economic situation.
- 25:38Speaker 1: He is working to bring down prices.
- 25:40Speaker 4: He is working to get the straight or re mose
- 25:41Speaker 4: re open.
- 25:42Speaker 9: We have passed legislation, He's used executive orders to get
- 25:45Speaker 9: the cost of living down. Economic tell everybody got their
- 25:48Speaker 9: highest text refunds they've had in their whole lives. They're
- 25:52Speaker 9: getting greater paychecks. There's all sorts of great economic indicators,
- 25:55Speaker 9: but there's still challenges, gas prices among them. So what
- 25:58Speaker 9: he was saying is it's going to be great to
- 26:01Speaker 9: have that number and compare it to what comes next
- 26:03Speaker 9: when we get these situations resolved. That'll be a fun
- 26:05Speaker 9: thing to consider and to compare that.
- 26:08Speaker 1: I mean, we played the whole clip for you just
- 26:10Speaker 1: see you guys now even I mean we literally played
- 26:13Speaker 1: the entire clip, right, Yeah, there's no content. He goes on.
- 26:17Speaker 2: Yeah, he goes on some rant about this, like you know,
- 26:19Speaker 2: operation that they're allegedly doing the straight of hom moves.
- 26:22Speaker 2: He says, he's laser focused on the domestic priorities of Americans,
- 26:28Speaker 2: one of them being reopening the straight up hoorm moves,
- 26:30Speaker 2: which is closed.
- 26:31Speaker 4: Why can anyone remind us why it's closed to begin with?
- 26:34Speaker 4: I mean, just absolutely insane.
- 26:35Speaker 2: And to his point about, oh, well they got a
- 26:37Speaker 2: big tax refund, we'll put Z two up on the screens.
- 26:41Speaker 4: Just the gas price increase.
- 26:43Speaker 2: Alone, Okay, this is we're not talking about groceries and
- 26:45Speaker 2: the overall inflation, just the increase in gas prices have
- 26:49Speaker 2: now wiped down an entire year worth of wage games.
- 26:53Speaker 2: So you know, I think that they were really counting on. Okay,
- 26:57Speaker 2: people are going to get somewhat larger refunds when they
- 27:00Speaker 2: file their taxes. They're going to be able to process
- 27:03Speaker 2: that before the midterms. That's going to provide us with
- 27:05Speaker 2: a political bump and juice the economy, etc. Heading into
- 27:08Speaker 2: this critical political period that is gone. I mean, the
- 27:13Speaker 2: first time you went to fill up your tank during
- 27:15Speaker 2: the Iran war. That's basically out the window. So it's
- 27:18Speaker 2: preposterous that they're still trying to hang their hat on
- 27:21Speaker 2: these minuscule, little refund bumps that they gave to the population.
- 27:24Speaker 1: The data tells the devitating story. January twenty twenty five,
- 27:27Speaker 1: that's literally when Trump took office. That's how average hourly
- 27:30Speaker 1: wage gain is back to. And we know the story
- 27:33Speaker 1: of where things continue to go from here. Right, and
- 27:36Speaker 1: Emily broke it down yesterday. Consumer prices are up four
- 27:38Speaker 1: point two percent. That's just in terms of the way
- 27:41Speaker 1: the Labor Department and all those other people configure the data.
- 27:45Speaker 1: Now just think about we are going you know, it's
- 27:47Speaker 1: June eleventh, starting to see a lot of tourists around
- 27:49Speaker 1: here in Washington. It's just the beginning. So it's the
- 27:52Speaker 1: beginning of tourist season, driving season, flying season. People are
- 27:56Speaker 1: going to go on vacation July fourth, barbecues not even
- 27:59Speaker 1: a month away. They're going to see the beef prices,
- 28:01Speaker 1: They're going to see the drive you know, they're going
- 28:03Speaker 1: to fill up their tank. And I think all of
- 28:06Speaker 1: those things are going to continue to spiral on top
- 28:10Speaker 1: of the already precarious financial situation, and that is just
- 28:14Speaker 1: heading into the midterms. And I think on top of it,
- 28:17Speaker 1: you see a number of other things, like the corruption.
- 28:20Speaker 1: You can't ignore it now at this point, a lot
- 28:22Speaker 1: of people can ignore a lot of corruption whenever shit's good,
- 28:24Speaker 1: when we're all rich, whatever, not whatever. But you get
- 28:27Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Most people can look away and say, ah,
- 28:29Speaker 1: my four oh one case high, So what do I care? Well,
- 28:32Speaker 1: whenever we're not doing so well, let's put.
- 28:35Speaker 3: This up here.
- 28:35Speaker 1: This I couldn't I keep trying to figure this one out.
- 28:39Speaker 1: D four D three sorry. Trump posted yesterday a troop
- 28:43Speaker 1: social post where he said Wow City was ranked number
- 28:47Speaker 1: one in topping m and a advisory market by value
- 28:50Speaker 1: in Q one. Congratulations to Jane f and all of
- 28:54Speaker 1: her great people. They worked really hard, big comeback for City.
- 28:58Speaker 1: This is for Jane Fraser, the chief of City Bank.
- 29:02Speaker 1: Nobody on Wall Street has any idea what this is about.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Apparently the number of whatever he's citing here is not
- 29:07Speaker 2: even true, right, So.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Yeah, so the number is not true. Nobody on Wall
- 29:12Speaker 1: Street has any idea what he's talking about. It came
- 29:15Speaker 1: from somewhere. I just want to know what money change hands,
- 29:19Speaker 1: what phone call for, what purpose? For what deal? For
- 29:22Speaker 1: the Trump family? Is this all behind because it doesn't
- 29:25Speaker 1: just happen. It doesn't just happen. You don't just make
- 29:27Speaker 1: it to the Trumps, you know, true social It's like
- 29:30Speaker 1: whenever he posted about palent here and then put the
- 29:32Speaker 1: stock ticker right there, you're like, okay, all right, Like
- 29:35Speaker 1: I see what's happening here, right, I.
- 29:37Speaker 4: Mean, he's just so out in the open. So the
- 29:39Speaker 4: whole thing is so out in the open.
- 29:41Speaker 2: He just doesn't even care to attempt to hide it
- 29:45Speaker 2: at this point, with you know, his crypto coin being
- 29:47Speaker 2: sort of like the chief money making scheme. The way
- 29:50Speaker 2: his net worth has so had in his second term
- 29:54Speaker 2: is just truly a historic cash grab theft that we
- 30:01Speaker 2: are all witnessing. And you know, yeah, when you're doing well,
- 30:06Speaker 2: I guess maybe you look at that and, oh, that's
- 30:08Speaker 2: not great. But at least you know things are going
- 30:10Speaker 2: better for everybody. He's profiting the most, and his daughter's
- 30:13Speaker 2: getting her private island. But I'm doing okay. But when
- 30:16Speaker 2: you're seeing going to the gas pump every day, like
- 30:18Speaker 2: I cannot afford this, and I cannot make rent, and
- 30:21Speaker 2: I cannot buy steak anymore or chicken anymore.
- 30:25Speaker 4: I'm going to the.
- 30:25Speaker 2: Canned protein section, then yeah, it's going to hit you
- 30:29Speaker 2: a little bit different. And you know, there are some
- 30:32Speaker 2: people in the economy, not just the Trump family, who
- 30:35Speaker 2: are doing extraordinarily well, which again paints a very frustrating,
- 30:42Speaker 2: enraging portrait for your average American. We have this SpaceX
- 30:47Speaker 2: ibo that is happening tomorrow, will start trading and we
- 30:51Speaker 2: can put D four up on the screen here. So
- 30:55Speaker 2: it's going to turn forty four hundred SpaceX employees into millionaires.
- 31:00Speaker 2: It is likely to turn Elon Musk himself into a trillionaire. Okay,
- 31:07Speaker 2: So the at the very very very top end of
- 31:11Speaker 2: the spectrum of you know, the people who are already
- 31:15Speaker 2: wildly wealthy or happen to luck out and get in
- 31:18Speaker 2: on what is very likely a massive AI bubble. Things
- 31:22Speaker 2: are going very well, you know, when you look at
- 31:24Speaker 2: the stock market, all the growth is concentrated in these
- 31:28Speaker 2: few tech stocks that have you know, this valuation. Almost
- 31:32Speaker 2: everybody acknowledges the SpaceX valuations absolutely insane when you look
- 31:36Speaker 2: at what their actual revenue is coming in and the
- 31:39Speaker 2: bet that they're placing here. But every you know, they're
- 31:41Speaker 2: pushing it out to retail to make sure that suckers
- 31:44Speaker 2: can get in when the price is at its highest,
- 31:46Speaker 2: So they're the ones that end up holding the bag,
- 31:47Speaker 2: et cetera if this thing ultimately, you know, goes down
- 31:51Speaker 2: significantly in value, which big IPOs usually do at least initially.
- 31:55Speaker 2: So in any case, you've got quite a quite a
- 31:59Speaker 2: portrait being paid did for the American people, of some
- 32:01Speaker 2: people getting a small handful, including our president, getting wildly
- 32:06Speaker 2: wealthy beyond anyone's comprehension, while you have seen your entire
- 32:12Speaker 2: year's worth of wage gains eaten up at the gas pump.
- 32:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I'm looking at it right now. The
- 32:16Speaker 1: S ANDP is still up as of today, I think
- 32:18Speaker 1: based upon SpaceX expectations, and if I take a look
- 32:23Speaker 1: at some of the other of the indicators of the
- 32:26Speaker 1: European Central Bank, actually this morning just raised interest rates
- 32:29Speaker 1: by a quarter point for the first time I think
- 32:32Speaker 1: since twenty twenty five's or sorry, for the first time,
- 32:34Speaker 1: it's twenty twenty three, which is crazy. So then consider
- 32:37Speaker 1: our own federal Reserve, where the current traders on Wall
- 32:39Speaker 1: Street are betting that they're going to increase interest rates here,
- 32:43Speaker 1: so we're going to have high interest rates, high inflation,
- 32:45Speaker 1: I mean both of those. Does that? And then unemployment
- 32:49Speaker 1: or sorry, the employment because of the way that they
- 32:52Speaker 1: measure it and all that they're making it so that
- 32:54Speaker 1: they're going to continue to try demand destruction, further exacerbating
- 32:57Speaker 1: housing and so much more. But yes, ul screen of
- 33:01Speaker 1: trillionaire multi I mean thousands of new millionaires. This does
- 33:05Speaker 1: not even factor in the open AI and anthropic IPOs, which.
- 33:09Speaker 4: Will both are also coming.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Somewhere around a trillion dollars. I mean, between those three
- 33:15Speaker 1: there will probably be hundreds of new billionaires, tens of
- 33:19Speaker 1: thousands of new millionaires. And when we say million we're
- 33:21Speaker 1: not talking about like one two million. We're talking about
- 33:24Speaker 1: like hundreds of millions of dollars so real estate in Austin,
- 33:28Speaker 1: San Francisco, La, New Year, Like it's going about to
- 33:32Speaker 1: be a bonanza in any of these very high cost
- 33:36Speaker 1: living eras. The yacht market is going to explode like all.
- 33:39Speaker 1: I mean, I feel sick saying all this stuff, but
- 33:41Speaker 1: it's true. True, like high end hotels and you know,
- 33:44Speaker 1: Switzerland and all these other places are going to be
- 33:46Speaker 1: doing gangbusters. But for everybody else, if you're just sitting
- 33:49Speaker 1: there measuring how much it costs to fill up your tank,
- 33:52Speaker 1: like it's getting a lot worse. And yeah, I mean, look,
- 33:54Speaker 1: I don't have to tell you what the ingredients for
- 33:56Speaker 1: that are.
- 33:56Speaker 2: Society, the market for a luxury mega and the market
- 34:02Speaker 2: and the market for spam both going to explode. You know,
- 34:06Speaker 2: buy some dollar general stock, that's it's yeah, it's look,
- 34:11Speaker 2: we already are beyond Gilded Age levels of wealth inequality,
- 34:16Speaker 2: and it matters to people. You know, you cannot have
- 34:18Speaker 2: a functioning society, you can't have a democracy when you've
- 34:21Speaker 2: got trillionaires running around. I mean we've already seen this
- 34:25Speaker 2: with Elon Musk and the amount of money he was
- 34:27Speaker 2: able to casually throw at the Trump campaign and you know,
- 34:30Speaker 2: put a sum on the scales and then be granted
- 34:33Speaker 2: dominion over basically the entire executive branch because of the
- 34:38Speaker 2: money that he funneled into Trump's campaign at a pivotal moment,
- 34:42Speaker 2: you know, we talk about like democracy crisis. There's a
- 34:44Speaker 2: lot more to talk about there too. By the way,
- 34:46Speaker 2: they're looking at banning mail ballots, making it so the
- 34:50Speaker 2: USPS will not deliver mail ballots in states that don't
- 34:53Speaker 2: send in their voter rolls to the federal government. But
- 34:56Speaker 2: when you think more broadly about the democracy crisis, like
- 34:58Speaker 2: you cannot have this level of wealth concentrated, have a
- 35:03Speaker 2: Supreme Court that has said money and speech, and think
- 35:06Speaker 2: that you are going to have any any small d
- 35:09Speaker 2: democratic representation.
- 35:10Speaker 4: And we're already living that.
- 35:12Speaker 1: It's total madness, especially with SpaceX. The ingredients, like you
- 35:15Speaker 1: just said, are completely you know, are all ready to go.
- 35:18Speaker 1: We know exactly where. Well, I don't know. Let's see.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Maybe it'll end just like last time. Maybe it will. Okay,
- 35:24Speaker 1: let's move on to Epstein. Turning down to Epstein, a
- 35:29Speaker 1: lot of Epstein stuff going on in the news behind
- 35:32Speaker 1: the radar. One of them, though actually links to the
- 35:35Speaker 1: Democratic race or the Democratic nominee in Maine. Graham Plattner,
- 35:39Speaker 1: who was asked beause he's been talking quite a bit
- 35:41Speaker 1: about the Epstein files, He's also had his recent sexting scandal,
- 35:45Speaker 1: and So Morning Joe's Mika Persinski tried to link the
- 35:48Speaker 1: two in a recent interview. Let's take a listen.
- 35:51Speaker 4: Let me ask you that this way.
- 35:53Speaker 10: Can can you just talk about the nature of the
- 35:56Speaker 10: sexting in terms of can you call for the release
- 35:59Speaker 10: of the Epstein files and can you call out those
- 36:03Speaker 10: who have abused women and not be conflicted in any way?
- 36:09Speaker 6: Yes, of course. I mean I engaged consensual romantic activities
- 36:15Speaker 6: with adults at an earlier part in my life. That
- 36:18Speaker 6: seems like a fairly normal thing most people do. Going
- 36:21Speaker 6: to an island with billionaires to possibly assault children is
- 36:26Speaker 6: a vastly, vastly different thing.
- 36:30Speaker 1: So yeah, kind of amusing I think there, Crystal.
- 36:33Speaker 2: I mean, can you imagine someone you had a consensual
- 36:37Speaker 2: adult relationship.
- 36:38Speaker 1: Which I'm not condoning you do, that's out of his marriage,
- 36:40Speaker 1: but not the same thing, not the.
- 36:42Speaker 2: Same as an elite pedophile cabal, sex trafficking cabal. I mean,
- 36:47Speaker 2: it's just horrifying that you it's insane. And listen, I'm
- 36:52Speaker 2: a big one into waited this out. Hey, Mika, if
- 36:54Speaker 2: you're going to be the morality police, let's check in
- 36:56Speaker 2: on the timeline of you and your co host relationship here.
- 37:00Speaker 2: I mean, look, people like I don't care live your life,
- 37:03Speaker 2: but if you're gonna go out there, oh my god,
- 37:05Speaker 2: you sexted someone like shouldn't this be career ending? And
- 37:08Speaker 2: isn't this exactly the same as raping a thirteen year old?
- 37:11Speaker 2: How can you have any like absolute insanity? I don't
- 37:14Speaker 2: know what's going on with her. It's kind of interesting
- 37:16Speaker 2: because Joe I watched the whole interview. Joe was actually
- 37:19Speaker 2: seemed like he was sympathetic to Graham. Well, he's always
- 37:21Speaker 2: been antime, me too, has always been I haven't followed
- 37:25Speaker 2: his entire trajectory there.
- 37:27Speaker 4: He made a good reason for me.
- 37:30Speaker 1: Just but in any case, just don't google. No, I'm
- 37:33Speaker 1: gonna say, just don't google internal.
- 37:36Speaker 5: I said it.
- 37:36Speaker 1: I said, just just don't google it.
- 37:38Speaker 4: Anyway.
- 37:38Speaker 2: He's not being a hypocrite here, But he kept signaling
- 37:41Speaker 2: in the interviews like Meeka's gonna have some questions for you,
- 37:44Speaker 2: so in any case, I mean, just complete absurdity, And
- 37:46Speaker 2: I think, you know, just I didn't get to say
- 37:48Speaker 2: my whole piece because Ryan normally covered the Platiner victory.
- 37:52Speaker 4: He got sager more votes.
- 37:55Speaker 2: Than any Democratic Senate nominee in history, more actually, and
- 38:00Speaker 2: there was a whole oh my god, should he drop out?
- 38:02Speaker 2: Maybe Janon Mills is actually going to win?
- 38:04Speaker 4: Blah blah. No, it was a complete and total blowout.
- 38:07Speaker 2: Then the other question was because there was a gubernatorial
- 38:10Speaker 2: primary as well, Oh, maybe everyone's going to vote for
- 38:13Speaker 2: the governor candidates, but they're not going to even vote
- 38:16Speaker 2: in the Senate because they're so upset about these allegations
- 38:19Speaker 2: against Graham and they're so disgusted that they don't have
- 38:21Speaker 2: any other Nope, that didn't happen either.
- 38:23Speaker 4: So it shows you.
- 38:26Speaker 2: How disconnected that view is from what actual voters in
- 38:30Speaker 2: Maine are thinking about all of this and the way
- 38:32Speaker 2: that they're reacting.
- 38:33Speaker 1: That's crazy. I didn't know that. I actually would be
- 38:36Speaker 1: curious to compare that to twenty twenty four, like the
- 38:38Speaker 1: number of votes for him, and then also to consider
- 38:41Speaker 1: like if just those people show up, Yeah, because it's
- 38:44Speaker 1: only so funny, how small man is with one hundred
- 38:46Speaker 1: and fifty thousand votes, and that's seventy two percent. It's
- 38:49Speaker 1: a small state, small state thinking and linking some of
- 38:52Speaker 1: this back to Epstein. Let's put E two up here
- 38:55Speaker 1: on the screen inside the White House freak out over
- 38:58Speaker 1: the Epstein files. Here what we found out. This is
- 39:02Speaker 1: a very long excerpt from a forthcoming book by Maggie
- 39:05Speaker 1: Haberman and Jonathan Swan. It's basically a TikTok of July seventeenth,
- 39:09Speaker 1: twenty twenty five, where what they say President Trump's top
- 39:13Speaker 1: officials filed in the White House situation room. What they
- 39:16Speaker 1: found is that the most senior advisors had gathered without
- 39:19Speaker 1: him to figure out how to gain some measure of
- 39:22Speaker 1: control over a very different kind of crisis threatening to
- 39:24Speaker 1: engulf the presidency, the Epstein Files. Ten days earlier, the
- 39:28Speaker 1: Justice Department and the FBI had jointly released a memo
- 39:32Speaker 1: that bluntly stated that their review had found no client
- 39:35Speaker 1: list of powerful men for whom the notorious pedophile Jeffrey
- 39:38Speaker 1: Epstein had allegedly procured underage girls and young women. And
- 39:42Speaker 1: it was about to get worse. The Wall Street Journal
- 39:44Speaker 1: was preparing the article about Trump's relationship with Epstein, including
- 39:47Speaker 1: the birthday book. They say that JD. Vance took a
- 39:49Speaker 1: seat at the head of the table of the conference room,
- 39:52Speaker 1: and he said, this is a huge problem. A rate
- 39:55Speaker 1: around him, where the White House Chief of Staff, the
- 39:57Speaker 1: White House Council, the Press Secretary, the dept. The Chief
- 40:00Speaker 1: of Staff, the Comms Director, the Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche,
- 40:03Speaker 1: the Associate Attorney General, and the deputy chiefs of Staff
- 40:06Speaker 1: James Blair, Attorney General Pambondi, and FBI Director Cash Battel.
- 40:11Speaker 1: On speakerphone quote, the Vice President appeared panicked. To others
- 40:14Speaker 1: in the room. Some senior officials had the impression Vance
- 40:16Speaker 1: had bought into the darkest theories about Epstein and a
- 40:19Speaker 1: cabal of predators within the country's ruling class. Wiles would
- 40:22Speaker 1: then tell others the Vice President had proved himself to
- 40:25Speaker 1: be a major conspiracy theorist. Another top official said he
- 40:28Speaker 1: had been pounding the Epstein issue since the release of
- 40:31Speaker 1: the memo and was privately pressing for the administration to
- 40:34Speaker 1: release all of the Epstein files. He had even floated
- 40:37Speaker 1: to colleagues in extraordinary pr gambit that the White House
- 40:40Speaker 1: enlists Tucker Carlson to interview Gallaine Maxwell in prison because
- 40:44Speaker 1: it could help the president if Maxwell was willing to
- 40:46Speaker 1: state Trump had not been part of any wrongdoing with Epstein.
- 40:50Speaker 1: He believed that all the files should be released. He
- 40:52Speaker 1: then got an immense amount of pushback from the people
- 40:55Speaker 1: who were loyal to Trump here, including James Blair was
- 40:59Speaker 1: a but he Chief of staff White House. He said,
- 41:02Speaker 1: with all due respect, the communication strategy of this group
- 41:05Speaker 1: got us here. I don't know if that is going
- 41:07Speaker 1: to get us out. And if you're going to go
- 41:08Speaker 1: in front of the press, you've got a lot of
- 41:10Speaker 1: work to do. He began to ask pointed mock questions,
- 41:13Speaker 1: demonstrating how difficult a news conference might be. At President's
- 41:17Speaker 1: former defense attorney, Todd Blanche had a unique perspective. He
- 41:21Speaker 1: was better equipped than anyone else in the room to
- 41:23Speaker 1: weigh the ideas around Trump's personal and political interests, and
- 41:27Speaker 1: he laid out with their best option, which is eventually
- 41:29Speaker 1: what they went to to try and unseal the grand
- 41:31Speaker 1: juries to do this interview with Glaie Maxwell. But what
- 41:34Speaker 1: they point to very specifically is that many of the
- 41:38Speaker 1: people inside of the administration, from Vance, Cash, Betel, and
- 41:41Speaker 1: bong Gino, Bongino especially, who at various points screamed at
- 41:45Speaker 1: Susie Wiles, he said that you fucked this up. You
- 41:48Speaker 1: covered this up. Many of them all wanted more, either
- 41:52Speaker 1: maximum transparency or release. There were two people who pushed
- 41:56Speaker 1: it was Trump loyalists and Donald Trump himself, who was
- 41:59Speaker 1: the most pose at the end of the day to
- 42:01Speaker 1: releasing anything. Turned it into the quote hoax. And then
- 42:06Speaker 1: this is the true crime, in my opinion, is that
- 42:08Speaker 1: all of those people Patel vance, all of the others
- 42:12Speaker 1: fall in line after Trump makes his decision. When what
- 42:15Speaker 1: we know, at least so far from what this TikTok of,
- 42:18Speaker 1: like all of the details of this White House situation
- 42:20Speaker 1: room meeting are. All of them knew this was going
- 42:23Speaker 1: to be a disaster, told Trump it was going to
- 42:25Speaker 1: be a disaster. Trump didn't care. Trump covered it up.
- 42:28Speaker 1: Trump was dragged kicking and streaming, screaming to the Epstein
- 42:31Speaker 1: Files Transparency Act. He goes all out. He opposed everything,
- 42:35Speaker 1: He denied the obvious birthday letter. Look, we all knew
- 42:38Speaker 1: it was real, Like come on, and at the time
- 42:40Speaker 1: they knew it was real before they denied it. And
- 42:42Speaker 1: then Bongino of all honestly, probably the worst because internally
- 42:47Speaker 1: he's screaming and he's losing his head, complaining about the
- 42:49Speaker 1: millions of dollars in podcast revenue and how hard it
- 42:52Speaker 1: is that he lost by going in the administration. Oh
- 42:55Speaker 1: boo hooo, my heartbreaks for you, Dan, and how hard
- 42:58Speaker 1: it is for to not live in Florida. Probably, so
- 43:04Speaker 1: he in the in the administration, he's threatening to quit
- 43:06Speaker 1: and all that over this, he's streaming at the White
- 43:08Speaker 1: House chief of Staff, doesn't quit and now comes back,
- 43:11Speaker 1: he's on his show and he still defends his conduct. Yeah,
- 43:14Speaker 1: from when he's in So come on, Dan, So he
- 43:17Speaker 1: lost all of his integrity, you know, cash but tell
- 43:19Speaker 1: a total joke, even though internally he had, you know,
- 43:21Speaker 1: tried to push back at least somewhat advanced all of
- 43:25Speaker 1: these other guys you know who all were like, oh,
- 43:27Speaker 1: it's going to be a disaster, and then they all
- 43:29Speaker 1: have to come out, fall in line and defend Trump
- 43:31Speaker 1: because Trump is the one who's either afraid or he's
- 43:33Speaker 1: covered some shit up. That's it. That's that you cannot
- 43:36Speaker 1: read this and not come away with the conclusion that
- 43:38Speaker 1: if it were not for Trump himself, that every single
- 43:41Speaker 1: other person basically works for him, was willing to go
- 43:44Speaker 1: for maximum transparency and for release, and they knew it
- 43:47Speaker 1: would be a huge political problem for them, and they
- 43:49Speaker 1: ended up going with it anyways because of Trump. It's
- 43:51Speaker 1: very similar to the Iron situation.
- 43:52Speaker 2: Well, and there was a big divide between people who
- 43:55Speaker 2: were in touch with the online universe and people who weren't.
- 43:58Speaker 2: I mean more or less generational divide, but yeah, Bungino,
- 44:02Speaker 2: Patel and Dvance were the three that are the most
- 44:04Speaker 2: like internet brained, and they were like, this is like,
- 44:07Speaker 2: you guys don't get it. This is the problem and
- 44:10Speaker 2: you can't just brush it away with your normal tricks.
- 44:13Speaker 2: But you know, their sense was like, yes, he can.
- 44:15Speaker 2: He gets away with everything, so why wouldn't he get
- 44:17Speaker 2: away with this? And you know, they were quite stunned
- 44:21Speaker 2: that this continued to be an issue for the base,
- 44:24Speaker 2: that this kept coming up in focus groups.
- 44:26Speaker 4: If we can put media, I did like a you know.
- 44:29Speaker 2: Most explosive revelations blah blah blah from this report, and
- 44:34Speaker 2: they said they talked about how Trump berated Charlie Kirk
- 44:38Speaker 2: over a like focus group that he had done. I
- 44:41Speaker 2: don't remember if we covered that I know we covered
- 44:43Speaker 2: some of the ones that he did, like over the
- 44:45Speaker 2: Iran war, but apparently Trump was furious that Charlie Kirk
- 44:49Speaker 2: had done this. But of course Charlie, being an online
- 44:52Speaker 2: influencer himself, was very much in touch with the fact, like, no, guys,
- 44:56Speaker 2: this is this is a problem. This isn't something I
- 44:58Speaker 2: can just gloss o and maintain any of my credibility.
- 45:02Speaker 2: The second one was Bungino going nuclear over handling the
- 45:05Speaker 2: Epstein files, which we just talked about.
- 45:07Speaker 4: This is interesting too.
- 45:09Speaker 2: Jad Vance tried to broker a fit down with Joe
- 45:11Speaker 2: Rogan for Epstein files clean up. The original idea was
- 45:14Speaker 2: that the then Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche would go
- 45:17Speaker 2: on with Joe Rogan to talk about the files. Rogan
- 45:21Speaker 2: apparently talked to Vance and was like, no, this according
- 45:24Speaker 2: to Jade Vance, no I don't want him, but I
- 45:26Speaker 2: would accept you to come on.
- 45:28Speaker 4: And so jad tried to push himself too.
- 45:31Speaker 2: It's interesting to me, but it is interesting to me
- 45:34Speaker 2: how central they saw Joe Rogan being to their like
- 45:37Speaker 2: attempt to clean all of this up and like using
- 45:40Speaker 2: him as sort of like, you know, how do we
- 45:42Speaker 2: get the bro sphere back on board. I know, we'll
- 45:44Speaker 2: go in with Joe Rogan and then we can launder
- 45:47Speaker 2: what a total disaster all of this is. There was
- 45:50Speaker 2: another media idea here that I really, really really wish
- 45:54Speaker 2: they had gone through with, which is that Jade Vance
- 45:58Speaker 2: pitched a Tucker Carlson interview with Gallaine Maxwell on behalf
- 46:04Speaker 2: of the administration. I don't know what he was thinking
- 46:07Speaker 2: with that particular idea, but I really wish that that
- 46:10Speaker 2: had ultimately happened. Of course, in the end, what they
- 46:12Speaker 2: decided to do was Blanche himself interviewed Gallaine Maxwell with
- 46:16Speaker 2: everyone just looked at what came out of that and
- 46:18Speaker 2: rolled their eyes. And then immediately she gets moved After
- 46:21Speaker 2: she does that and says, oh, no, Trump never did
- 46:24Speaker 2: anything wrong. Then she gets moved to this minimum security
- 46:28Speaker 2: prison where she gets to wander the grounds with her puppy.
- 46:30Speaker 1: Blah blah blahh No, there's some I mean, it's absolutely crazy.
- 46:34Speaker 1: And the reason why I think it's very analogous to
- 46:36Speaker 1: Iran is this is basically how the same thing played
- 46:39Speaker 1: out with Iran. Most of the people who work for
- 46:41Speaker 1: Trump were like, dude, this is bad. So again, we
- 46:44Speaker 1: know this for sure at least from the TikTok to
- 46:47Speaker 1: Maggie Harman and Jonathan Swan. They released the memos or
- 46:50Speaker 1: basically about how it all went down. Inside the situation room,
- 46:53Speaker 1: jad was like, I think it's a bad idea, but
- 46:55Speaker 1: if you want to do it, I'll back you up.
- 46:57Speaker 1: Pete Hegseth, idiot in chief was like, look, whatever you
- 47:00Speaker 1: want to do, you know, rah rah rah, I'll back you.
- 47:03Speaker 1: Didn't really have an opinion the Chief of staff or
- 47:05Speaker 1: the army join the joint chief. He came raising kin.
- 47:10Speaker 1: Daniel Kine was like, look, sir, you know, very muted
- 47:13Speaker 1: about some of the caution, but he had his vice
- 47:15Speaker 1: admiral actually do tell him the truth. He was like, no,
- 47:18Speaker 1: don't do it. It's going to be bad. There's all
- 47:19Speaker 1: these different problems. Trump listens to basically nobody inside of
- 47:23Speaker 1: this in the administration. In terms of the White House.
- 47:25Speaker 1: He is listening to Mark Levin, to BB Net, Yahoo,
- 47:28Speaker 1: to that extraordinary pitch that happened probably in the same
- 47:30Speaker 1: situation room conference room is that we're talking about. Here
- 47:33Speaker 1: he goes from Net and Yahoo, he goes with the
- 47:35Speaker 1: outside brigade, but in both the deciding factor in all
- 47:38Speaker 1: this is Trump himself. But the deciding factor is also
- 47:43Speaker 1: that all of the people who work for him, who
- 47:45Speaker 1: know better, because they are not the president, they have
- 47:48Speaker 1: to fall in line and to support and not support,
- 47:51Speaker 1: just be their cheerleaders in the public to maintain any
- 47:55Speaker 1: access to the king. And that is the biggest problem
- 47:58Speaker 1: I have with this.
- 47:59Speaker 4: Entire The other character in this is Pam Bonding. Oh
- 48:03Speaker 4: my goodness.
- 48:04Speaker 2: So you guys all remember the situation with the influencers
- 48:07Speaker 2: and the Binder Binder Gate where they you know, kaya
- 48:10Speaker 2: Reritschik and.
- 48:11Speaker 4: All these people d C.
- 48:12Speaker 2: Durino are posing with They're oh, I got the Epstein
- 48:15Speaker 2: files and they're like big smiles on their face. Apparently,
- 48:18Speaker 2: according to this, she freelanced that whole thing and was
- 48:21Speaker 2: like oh, her and her staff are like, oh, this
- 48:23Speaker 2: is going to be so epic. You'll see, this is
- 48:26Speaker 2: going to be amazing. It happened on a day when
- 48:28Speaker 2: Kier Starmer was visiting and Trump was going to have
- 48:31Speaker 2: you know, a press of veil with him after that,
- 48:33Speaker 2: and they're like this, all the questions are going to
- 48:36Speaker 2: be about this, like what are you doing? And then,
- 48:38Speaker 2: of course, as we all know, the Binders turned on
- 48:41Speaker 2: to be full of information that was already public. Actually
- 48:44Speaker 2: it was more redacted than what Gawker had published like
- 48:47Speaker 2: a decade ago, and so.
- 48:49Speaker 4: It just ended up being a complete debacle.
- 48:53Speaker 2: These influencers, who are some of the Trump White House's
- 48:56Speaker 2: biggest cheerleaders, they feel like they get completely burned. It's
- 48:59Speaker 2: human aniliating for everyone involved, and no one falls for
- 49:04Speaker 2: the theater. But apparently this was all like her and
- 49:06Speaker 2: her staff's bright idea and just turns into a complete
- 49:11Speaker 2: disaster on every front and further breaks the trust of
- 49:14Speaker 2: you know, some part of the MAGA base that is
- 49:17Speaker 2: looking at this like what are we doing here? Like
- 49:19Speaker 2: you're just engaged in a massive, in our face cover
- 49:23Speaker 2: up of what's going on. You mentioned when we were
- 49:25Speaker 2: talking about Ron before making the connection between these two
- 49:28Speaker 2: issues that Trump just can't actually find his way out of.
- 49:32Speaker 2: Both of them go to kind of like the core
- 49:34Speaker 2: brand that he had created, and that's really why he
- 49:37Speaker 2: can't wiggle out of it the way he seems to
- 49:39Speaker 2: wiggle out of everything else. You know, being a womanizer
- 49:43Speaker 2: and a woman abuser frankly is not really counter to
- 49:45Speaker 2: his brand. Well it's messy, but yeah, that's baked into
- 49:49Speaker 2: the cake.
- 49:49Speaker 4: I get it.
- 49:49Speaker 2: He's you know, ruined, crude, mean, engross and all these things.
- 49:53Speaker 2: But when it comes to his own people, this brand
- 49:56Speaker 2: that he'd established, that he would be the ruffian to
- 49:59Speaker 2: come in and overturn the tables and clean up the
- 50:02Speaker 2: swamp and expose all of the wrongdoers. This's so a
- 50:06Speaker 2: very sort of like QAnon fantasy of what Trump was.
- 50:09Speaker 2: The Epstein files just you could not reconcile. Now he's
- 50:13Speaker 2: doing a cover up. And by the way, he's Jeffrey
- 50:14Speaker 2: Epstein's best riund for a decade with this image and
- 50:17Speaker 2: brand that he had created, you know, on the war stuff,
- 50:20Speaker 2: like from the time that he ran in twenty fifteen
- 50:23Speaker 2: twenty sixteen, he made central to that his supposed opposition
- 50:27Speaker 2: to the Iraq war.
- 50:28Speaker 4: That becomes central to his brand.
- 50:30Speaker 2: In the first administration, I would say he took very
- 50:33Speaker 2: hawkish and potentially dangerous actions, but he always leaned into
- 50:37Speaker 2: this talking point. I didn't start any new wars. When
- 50:40Speaker 2: he runs, he goes out and has all of these
- 50:42Speaker 2: validators of he's going to be this is the peace ticket.
- 50:46Speaker 2: He's going to keep us out of any future wars.
- 50:49Speaker 2: You know, he's going to be totally different than these
- 50:51Speaker 2: neocons that are in the Biden administration.
- 50:53Speaker 4: Blah blah blah. People believed that, and so then when
- 50:56Speaker 4: he comes in and starts.
- 50:58Speaker 2: On his own, you know, of his own, with no
- 51:01Speaker 2: provocation outside of Israel encouraging them to do so, a
- 51:04Speaker 2: disastrous Middle Eastern war. There's just no way that you
- 51:08Speaker 2: can wiggle out of that, that you can bullshit that
- 51:10Speaker 2: you cannot cover up the reality of how counter that
- 51:14Speaker 2: is to what your people thought you were going to
- 51:17Speaker 2: ultimately do.
- 51:17Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, I mean I think that between the Iran
- 51:20Speaker 1: situation and the Epstein situation. Again though what you I
- 51:23Speaker 1: think you also you have to be honest, Like the
- 51:25Speaker 1: truth is is so many of these people took a gamble.
- 51:26Speaker 1: They really did, and I believe that this would happen too.
- 51:29Speaker 1: They believe that the first term, like with the first term,
- 51:32Speaker 1: that the advisors the people there would set policy. Trump has,
- 51:35Speaker 1: for some reason nobody will ever know, has taken a
- 51:38Speaker 1: much more like active control over the policy in the
- 51:42Speaker 1: second term, but with a way worse direction woth with
- 51:45Speaker 1: Iran and with Epstein, And it turns out that they've
- 51:48Speaker 1: had almost zero influence to be honest or counter influence
- 51:51Speaker 1: both on Epstein. I mean, if you think about, like
- 51:53Speaker 1: why did you pick JD in the first place, There's
- 51:55Speaker 1: no reason, like why if you wanted to go to
- 51:58Speaker 1: this direction, pick Rubio, or pick Dug Bergham or saw
- 52:00Speaker 1: another empty suit. Why would you pick somebody who actually
- 52:03Speaker 1: at least somewhat had like a belief system. Why did
- 52:06Speaker 1: you do it? Because would he seem as an internal
- 52:08Speaker 1: like like keep the guy pissing out of the what
- 52:11Speaker 1: is the LBJ quote? It's like, I'd bet I'd rather
- 52:14Speaker 1: have him inside the tent pissing out than outside the
- 52:16Speaker 1: tent pissing in. It's like that's the only reason I
- 52:19Speaker 1: can personally, I.
- 52:21Speaker 2: Think it's because he was willing to go out and
- 52:22Speaker 2: say no, I would not have done what Mike Pence
- 52:25Speaker 2: did on January. But no, he I mean I think
- 52:28Speaker 2: that was I think the fact that I actually think
- 52:32Speaker 2: he liked the fact that Jdvans had been a critic
- 52:35Speaker 2: and that he had been completely cowed because and that
- 52:38Speaker 2: was willing even to go that far and say no, no,
- 52:41Speaker 2: I wouldn't have certified the elections results. I mean, he
- 52:43Speaker 2: had already demonstrated his willingness to basically humiliate himself on
- 52:47Speaker 2: behalf of the president. And I think that was the
- 52:49Speaker 2: that was the critical piece. And then you've got Elon
- 52:52Speaker 2: who it.
- 52:52Speaker 1: Wasn't humiliating one. He won an election, he became the
- 52:55Speaker 1: vice president.
- 52:55Speaker 2: It's humiliating to say that you would not have certified
- 52:58Speaker 2: the election. I mean any sort of prince. Yes, And
- 53:00Speaker 2: he's sort of principle that he had had previously. He
- 53:03Speaker 2: had already demonstrated himself willing to completely and totally abandon.
- 53:07Speaker 2: And then you add to that Elon Musk putting in
- 53:11Speaker 2: a quarter of a billion dollars into the campaign, and
- 53:15Speaker 2: JD was his pick, like he wants him in, and
- 53:19Speaker 2: I think that's how you end up with Jade Vanson.
- 53:21Speaker 2: I don't think it was as clever as strategic of like, oh,
- 53:23Speaker 2: I'd rather have this guy on the inside. But you
- 53:25Speaker 2: know the bottom line is his learning from the first
- 53:28Speaker 2: administration was that the problems were when he was rained in.
- 53:34Speaker 4: That was the issue.
- 53:35Speaker 2: He saw that as being the core problem in his
- 53:37Speaker 2: first administration was that there was any check on anything
- 53:40Speaker 2: that he wanted to do. And so between Project twenty
- 53:43Speaker 2: twenty five and then between his own vetting of who
- 53:46Speaker 2: he would bring into his administration.
- 53:48Speaker 4: He was going to make sure that it was all
- 53:50Speaker 4: people who would just.
- 53:51Speaker 2: Be yes men who he could you know that he
- 53:54Speaker 2: would have the final say that there would be little
- 53:56Speaker 2: to no check on what he wanted to do. And
- 53:59Speaker 2: that is the primary difference in orientation between the first
- 54:03Speaker 2: administration the second one. He's also older. He's also more
- 54:05Speaker 2: out of touch. You know, any sort of like political
- 54:09Speaker 2: magic that he had previously. I still has some of that,
- 54:11Speaker 2: but a lot of that touch is gone because he's
- 54:14Speaker 2: just been so disconnected from the American people for so long.
- 54:17Speaker 4: At this point too, I'd have.
- 54:17Speaker 1: To think about it more because you know, I always thought,
- 54:20Speaker 1: I really, I really look the Elon thing. I take
- 54:23Speaker 1: your point, But one of the reasons that Elon and
- 54:25Speaker 1: David pushed him it had nothing to do with financial
- 54:27Speaker 1: There's no evidence currently that JD was something like driving
- 54:29Speaker 1: doze for us. As far as I know, he thought
- 54:31Speaker 1: it was stupid. But from what I can see currently,
- 54:34Speaker 1: he picked him because of Elon was skeptical of Ukraine.
- 54:36Speaker 1: That was one of the main reasons that David and
- 54:38Speaker 1: Elon pushed him, Like there was a real idea. I
- 54:40Speaker 1: take your point on the election thing, You're probably right
- 54:42Speaker 1: that at the end of the day, it probably is
- 54:44Speaker 1: the one to one thing. Like if you're willing to
- 54:45Speaker 1: say it, that showed you're I just I have no
- 54:48Speaker 1: idea why you would pick somebody who was young, who
- 54:51Speaker 1: was in touch, who actually had a belief system on
- 54:53Speaker 1: Ukraine just to bring them in and then have I mean,
- 54:57Speaker 1: like I said, I maybe it's a strategic thing. Maybe
- 55:00Speaker 1: it's a humiliation Kank Like, I have no idea, Yeah,
- 55:03Speaker 1: but I mean it clearly didn't work.
- 55:04Speaker 4: I mean, he definitely likes that.
- 55:06Speaker 2: I mean, even Marco right, a little Marco right, all
- 55:08Speaker 2: these people. He loves the people who tried to stand
- 55:11Speaker 2: up to him and then you know, are completely cowed. Yeah,
- 55:14Speaker 2: and he loves he loves the humiliation ritual. RFK Junior,
- 55:17Speaker 2: I'm going to make you eat McDonald's on my plane.
- 55:19Speaker 2: I mean truly, like he enjoys that. And so I
- 55:22Speaker 2: think that was actually part of the appeal for JD.
- 55:25Speaker 2: But it has worked out that it has you know,
- 55:27Speaker 2: destroyed him and his ability to be like, you know,
- 55:30Speaker 2: a posture is being anything different from what this the
- 55:33Speaker 2: disaster that this administration has ended up being.
- 55:35Speaker 4: And Trump doesn't even like him Trump likes Marco butter
- 55:38Speaker 4: so crazy.
- 55:39Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, I think it's interesting how things work out,
- 55:43Speaker 1: isn't it. Okay, thank you to everybody who supports the show.
- 55:46Speaker 1: We appreciate. Friday show tomorrow. I'm sure it'll be nuts
- 55:49Speaker 1: with all this bombing, so we'll see then.
