  Speaker 4: be embarking on Jeremiah chapter ten. Jeremiah chapter nine. We

  Speaker 4: saw the heartbreak of the nation as they saw that
• 1:48
  Speaker 4: the warnings and the threats of judgment were real. And

  Speaker 4: it's a sobering thing to know that we've ignored the
• 1:58
  Speaker 4: warnings of God to the point where now we have
• 2:02
  Speaker 4: to pay the consequences. The time to get right is over,
• 2:08
  Speaker 4: and a lot of people who stepped into eternity have
• 2:12
  Speaker 4: realized that way too late. Now, since we are still
• 2:17
  Speaker 4: here and have breadth in our lungs, now is the
• 2:20
  Speaker 4: time for us to get it right, to get right
• 2:22
  Speaker 4: with God. And so we finished chapter nine, we are
• 2:26
  Speaker 4: in chapter ten. We're gonna look at idols versus the
• 2:31
  Speaker 4: true in living God. That is what this chapter breaks down.

  Speaker 4: God is always calling us back to a loving relationship
• 2:42
  Speaker 4: with Him and man. He wants our hearts, our devotion.

  Speaker 4: He deserves it the one he created us, and for

  Speaker 4: two he bought us with his own blood. This is

  Speaker 4: how much he desires to have us and to have

  Speaker 4: Here the word which the Lord speaks to you, O

  Speaker 4: house of Israel. By the way, we're in the New

  Speaker 4: King James, that says the Lord, do not lean or
• 5:36
  Speaker 4: do not learn the way of the gentiles. Do not
• 5:40
  Speaker 4: be dismayed at the signs of heaven, for the gentiles
• 5:45
  Speaker 4: are dismayed at them. So what we're talking about here
• 5:50
  Speaker 4: is astrology. Back then, even Abraham was a moon worshiper.

  Speaker 4: And you know that's funny. As I was going through
• 5:59
  Speaker 4: this chap, I was driving and I was just looking.

  Speaker 4: I was looking at the moon coming up right as
• 6:06
  Speaker 4: I was driving to work one morning, and then I

  Speaker 4: started driving around and at the end of the day,

  Speaker 4: I saw the sun kind of coming down, and I

  Speaker 4: was just looking like, why would you worship these things?

  Speaker 4: I mean, I mean they look huge, don't they. I

  Speaker 4: mean the moon looks huge. It does. It was a
• 6:27
  Speaker 4: full moon and we're here on this earth. And just
• 6:31
  Speaker 4: imagine not having the revelation to who God truly is.

  Speaker 4: You would be provoked to worship that thing. You'd be
• 6:40
  Speaker 4: provoked to call out, like you don't. I believe even
• 6:46
  Speaker 4: then people had a revelation of God, they just chose
• 6:49
  Speaker 4: to ignore it because I don't believe that people were
• 6:52
  Speaker 4: just helplessly lost and they couldn't find God. That was
• 6:56
  Speaker 4: a whole point of the nation of Israel, was to
• 6:59
  Speaker 4: point the world to God, to the light right. And
• 7:04
  Speaker 4: even though they kind of failed to be that witness,
• 7:08
  Speaker 4: but they were dismayed at the signs of heaven. Now

  Speaker 4: verse three, because we're gonna got a point, but we'll
• 7:21
  Speaker 4: fall back to that. For the customs of the people's
• 7:25
  Speaker 4: are futile. For one cuts a tree from the forest,
• 7:31
  Speaker 4: the work of the hands of the workmen with an axe.

  Speaker 4: Now they're talking about how senseless it is to build
• 7:44
  Speaker 4: your own God. You cut down a tree from the forest.

  Speaker 4: Right you use you hire an axe. Men, It's almost
• 7:53
  Speaker 4: like going to the store and have them make you
• 7:56
  Speaker 4: a customed god. You know, I like to go to
• 7:59
  Speaker 4: the mall, not a custom of his hot T shirts,

  Speaker 4: you know, to promote the radio station and things like that.

  Speaker 4: Imagine going to the mall and basically say, you know,

  Speaker 4: I need you to create a God for me today

  Speaker 4: that I can worship. Like, what can that God do

  Speaker 4: for you? Right? And it's gonna break it down. In

  Speaker 4: Verse four says you decorate it with silver and gold
• 8:26
  Speaker 4: and fascinate with nails and a hammer so that it
• 8:31
  Speaker 4: may not topple. Now you have to put nails in
• 8:35
  Speaker 4: your God, or else it's gonna fall over. Now, I
• 8:41
  Speaker 4: serve a God that can stand upright, can walk and
• 8:45
  Speaker 4: talk and breathe, and I can call upon his name
• 8:48
  Speaker 4: and he can help me. Right. We need a God
• 8:52
  Speaker 4: that can deliver us and help us and save us,
• 8:56
  Speaker 4: and need to help us go through these issues of life. Now,

  Speaker 4: if you got to hold up your God with a nail,
• 9:04
  Speaker 4: how in the world do you think this God is
• 9:06
  Speaker 4: going to help you? Right? They call out to these
• 9:10
  Speaker 4: items that they've made for help. In verse five, they
• 9:15
  Speaker 4: are upright like a palm tree, and they cannot speak.
• 9:21
  Speaker 4: I'm thankful that we have a God that can speak
• 9:23
  Speaker 4: to our spirits and our hearts. They must be carried
• 9:29
  Speaker 4: because they cannot go by themselves. Do not be afraid
• 9:35
  Speaker 4: of them, for they cannot do evil, nor can they
• 9:39
  Speaker 4: do any good. These people were fearing these objects that
• 9:45
  Speaker 4: they were, they made by man's hand, that cannot carry
• 9:50
  Speaker 4: themselves nor cannot even speak. Now, I do want to
• 9:55
  Speaker 4: say something about not being able to speak. I was

  Speaker 4: watching it video. There was a podcast on YouTube called

  Speaker 4: Life is Spiritual, Very powerful. This African couple, this girl,

  Speaker 4: Erica Mumbasi, I believe if I'm pronouncing her name right,

  Speaker 4: was a devil worshiper and it was it ran in
• 10:22
  Speaker 4: her family, but Jesus delivered her from that. If you

  Speaker 4: can ever look up her testimony, it is great and
• 10:28
  Speaker 4: it is powerful. They're doing a great work in Africa,

  Speaker 4: and my wife and I we enjoy watching their videos. Now,

  Speaker 4: if you can get past her accent, they got a

  Speaker 4: pretty The wife has a pretty thick accent, you know,

  Speaker 4: because she's from Africa. Sometimes I gotta really listen to

  Speaker 4: understand everything that they're saying. But anyway, it's a great podcast. Anyway,

  Speaker 4: they're talking about Elon Musk and this chip coming out

  Speaker 4: with and they showed some clips. There's a guy who

  Speaker 4: made a incision in his uh has an incision like

  Speaker 4: on the side of his forehead because of a surgery

  Speaker 4: he had implanting the chip in his brain. Now, this

  Speaker 4: chip or they implanted it. Actually you know, our brain
• 11:20
  Speaker 4: is electronic, and so they planted it to where people
• 11:26
  Speaker 4: can even watch your thoughts. Come on. Now, it is
• 11:30
  Speaker 4: getting ready for the Beast system, the Antichrist system, where
• 11:35
  Speaker 4: they are going to basically control the whole world. And
• 11:39
  Speaker 4: planting this chip and your brain gives them access for
• 11:44
  Speaker 4: mind control. They know you're if you think of something
• 11:49
  Speaker 4: that is against their system, they'll just shut down your
• 11:51
  Speaker 4: bank account. This guy is bragging. He's talking about he
• 11:55
  Speaker 4: can control his mouse, he can control his computer just
• 11:58
  Speaker 4: with his brain and with this thought. And now they're
• 12:01
  Speaker 4: also saying that this was a part of the brain
• 12:04
  Speaker 4: where you hear from God, where God will speak. See,

  Speaker 4: Satan cannot read our minds. Satan is not all powerful
• 12:14
  Speaker 4: like God is. Satan relies on technology. If you bind
• 12:19
  Speaker 4: this strong man and spoil his house. If you bind
• 12:22
  Speaker 4: these demons and devils that Satan uses, he is rendered helpless.
• 12:27
  Speaker 4: He needs an army right to accomplish his deeds and
• 12:32
  Speaker 4: his tactics. He can't be everywhere once like God can,
• 12:37
  Speaker 4: and so he's using technology. And in the Book of
• 12:41
  Speaker 4: Revelation it says that the mark of the beast will
• 12:44
  Speaker 4: be either on your right hand or on the forehead.
• 12:47
  Speaker 4: And so this chip is out and this Satan is
• 12:50
  Speaker 4: trying to change our DNA because only humans can be saved.
• 12:55
  Speaker 4: That's why if you take the mark, your chances for
• 12:58
  Speaker 4: salvation are gone. Taking on the DNA of Satan, you've
• 13:02
  Speaker 4: taken on his image. Because God created us in his image,
• 13:07
  Speaker 4: and only those who are created in his image can
• 13:10
  Speaker 4: be saved. Those who are created in Satan's image. That's
• 13:14
  Speaker 4: why Satan cannot be saved. And so it's deep. Do

  Speaker 4: not take this mark. But the point I'm trying to

  Speaker 4: make is there's a part in your brain where God
• 13:25
  Speaker 4: speaks to us, and Elon Musk is developing a chip

  Speaker 4: where it cuts that off, where God will no longer

  Speaker 4: be able to speak, and there's a chip that will

  Speaker 4: hinder that and Satan will be able to control and

  Speaker 4: know your thoughts, and who knows, they could probably take

  Speaker 4: your life if they just they could probably hit the

  Speaker 4: delete button, like why would you give that much control

  Speaker 4: to anything other than Jesus, say man, and these things

  Speaker 4: can neither do evil, are good like they're inadamant objects.

  Speaker 4: Why worship them? Verse six? Inasmuch as they there is

  Speaker 4: name is great and mighty. Who will not fear you,

  Speaker 4: O King of Nations? For this is your rife will

  Speaker 4: do Verse seven? For among all the wise men of

  Speaker 4: the nations, and in all the kingdoms, there is none

  Speaker 4: like you. Now he's telling us not to fear these idols.

  Speaker 4: Right then he goes in, and he tells us who
• 14:47
  Speaker 4: is like you? O Lord? You are great, and your
• 14:53
  Speaker 4: name is great and mighty. Who will not fear you,
• 14:56
  Speaker 4: O King of Nations? So right now now the nations
• 15:01
  Speaker 4: are defiant, The nations are brazen against him. The nations
• 15:10
  Speaker 4: mock his name. They do not know what they do
• 15:15
  Speaker 4: on that day of judgment. It says that when Jesus
• 15:20
  Speaker 4: cracks the sky, the nations will mourn because of him.
• 15:25
  Speaker 4: He is the King of nations. The nations will regret
• 15:31
  Speaker 4: every time that they've disrespected him, disregarded him. Who will
• 15:39
  Speaker 4: not fear this great and mighty king. They will see
• 15:42
  Speaker 4: how foolish it was, and how foolish it is to
• 15:47
  Speaker 4: worship these idols that they've made with their hands Verse seven.

  Speaker 4: For who will not fear you, o, King of nations?
• 15:57
  Speaker 4: For this is your rightful duke. From among all the

  Speaker 4: wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms,
• 16:05
  Speaker 4: there is none like you a man. Verse eight. But

  Speaker 4: they are all together dull hearted and foolish. A wooden
• 16:14
  Speaker 4: idol is a worthless doctrine. Now they are dull hearted
• 16:25
  Speaker 4: and foolish. Do you notice the people in this world
• 16:31
  Speaker 4: who worship other gods, these other religions. I notice one
• 16:37
  Speaker 4: thing is like they're not really sharp in their thinking.
• 16:40
  Speaker 4: They're not really sharp in their discernment because they fall
• 16:44
  Speaker 4: for just about anything. Right. You can offer them something
• 16:50
  Speaker 4: very gullible, like once you've been walking in the light,
• 16:53
  Speaker 4: it makes sense to us like, oh, yeah, you know,
• 16:55
  Speaker 4: this ain't ala. You know I would go that way,
• 16:58
  Speaker 4: you know, because we were walking in the light we
• 17:03
  Speaker 4: can see. But people in darkness, they don't know what
• 17:06
  Speaker 4: they worship. So they worship dangerous things and they don't
• 17:10
  Speaker 4: even realize it. Because there's a principle. You become who
• 17:15
  Speaker 4: you worship. You become like the object you worship. The
• 17:20
  Speaker 4: wood is dull, the wood cannot do nothing and cannot speak,
• 17:25
  Speaker 4: is worthless. They can do nothing to help you, and
• 17:30
  Speaker 4: they leave you in a worthless state. Verse nine. Silver
• 17:35
  Speaker 4: is beaten into plates, and it is brought from Tarsius,
• 17:41
  Speaker 4: and gold from you, Paz, the work of a craftsman,
• 17:47
  Speaker 4: and of the hands of a metalsmith. Blue and purple
• 17:53
  Speaker 4: are there clothing. They are all the work of skillful men.

  Speaker 4: God is like saying, look, get some common sense, get
• 18:07
  Speaker 4: some common sense, look at what you're worshiping. Now. Back then,

  Speaker 4: I will have to say people were a little more

  Speaker 4: honest than they are. Now. Let's say, whatever your master
• 18:30
  Speaker 4: passion is, whatever you wake up for in the morning,
• 18:35
  Speaker 4: and whatever you desire you devote your time and telling
• 18:38
  Speaker 4: and treasure to, that is your God. That is who
• 18:42
  Speaker 4: you worship. And so back then, if you worship sex,
• 18:49
  Speaker 4: for instance, if your desire you just wanted to have
• 18:53
  Speaker 4: a sexual life and sexual exploits and this, like you know,
• 18:58
  Speaker 4: things like that, that what you would do is you
• 19:00
  Speaker 4: would go and create an idol and call it Astrath.
• 19:07
  Speaker 4: Astra had was a god of sexual pleasure in that day,
• 19:13
  Speaker 4: and Astra was an idol that had exaggerated sexual parts
• 19:20
  Speaker 4: on it. You know, if you will look it up,
• 19:23
  Speaker 4: you know that was their idol. And so they would
• 19:26
  Speaker 4: build an altar in pray to this astith god so
• 19:30
  Speaker 4: that they can go out and this god will help
• 19:33
  Speaker 4: them live a life of sexual immorality. But nowadays, if
• 19:39
  Speaker 4: you go to somebody and you know, they have a
• 19:42
  Speaker 4: wild weekend and they come to work or whatever, and
• 19:46
  Speaker 4: they're bragging about, you know, all these girls or guys
• 19:50
  Speaker 4: whatever that they you know, slept with, and you'd be like, oh, okay,
• 19:53
  Speaker 4: oh well you worship Astrath and they'd be like, huh,
• 19:57
  Speaker 4: like what are you talking about it? What's an Astra?

  Speaker 4: You know, they don't know, they don't realize that they're
• 20:03
  Speaker 4: worshiping this god. That's the demon that they're worshiping. They've
• 20:06
  Speaker 4: given her life over to. And so this is the
• 20:14
  Speaker 4: reality of idols and idle worship. If God is not
• 20:19
  Speaker 4: if Jesus is not your master passion, then chances are
• 20:27
  Speaker 4: you are worshiping an idol, whether it be being a workaholic,
• 20:33
  Speaker 4: or whether it be alcohol or drugs or whatever. It
• 20:37
  Speaker 4: is that the driving passion, the driving force of your
• 20:41
  Speaker 4: life is your idol. And people are sophisticated today, so
• 20:45
  Speaker 4: they're not gonna go and create a statue and call
• 20:49
  Speaker 4: upon the thing. They're just living that lifestyle. You know.
• 20:52
  Speaker 4: They worship different celebrities, right, and they want to look
• 20:56
  Speaker 4: like their celebrities. Look at how many Michaels Jackson look
• 21:01
  Speaker 4: alikes her out there right verse ten. But the Lord
• 21:07
  Speaker 4: is the true God, He is the living God and
• 21:13
  Speaker 4: the everlasting King. At his wrath, the earth will tremble
• 21:19
  Speaker 4: and the nations will not be able to endure his indignation. Now,
• 21:24
  Speaker 4: whenever you come at a cross, that word indignation in
• 21:27
  Speaker 4: the Old Testament, it is the word that we used
• 21:30
  Speaker 4: in a New Testament for the great tri relation. So
• 21:34
  Speaker 4: the time of great triblation is coming upon us, and
• 21:39
  Speaker 4: the Bible tells us that this will be the worst
• 21:43
  Speaker 4: time ever in history, the worst time ever in history,
• 21:51
  Speaker 4: and it's knocking right at our door. The nations will
• 21:55
  Speaker 4: not be able to endure his indignation. He is a
• 21:59
  Speaker 4: true in a living God. He deserves our devotion. He
• 22:06
  Speaker 4: deserves our worship. He deserves all of that. And so
• 22:10
  Speaker 4: I wanted to fall back when I was talking about
• 22:14
  Speaker 4: they are dismayed by the heavens. Where was that verse at? Yeah,
• 22:22
  Speaker 4: verse I believe too, it was do not learn the
• 22:26
  Speaker 4: ways that the gentiles do not be dismayed, that the
• 22:29
  Speaker 4: science of the heavens for the gentiles are di made
• 22:33
  Speaker 4: at them. You can say that this is basically astrology, right, well,
• 22:39
  Speaker 4: there's a lot of superstition behind it. There's a lot
• 22:44
  Speaker 4: of astrology. And the point I'm trying to make when
• 22:51
  Speaker 4: these first ten verses is this is that you become
• 22:57
  Speaker 4: what you worship. And it's starts as a progression. First,
• 23:04
  Speaker 4: it starts with love, right you want That's why Jesus
• 23:10
  Speaker 4: always wants our heart, always wants our love. He's fighting
• 23:16
  Speaker 4: for it. He's fighting for our hearts just as well
• 23:19
  Speaker 4: as Satan wants us to love our sin. Ultimately, Satan
• 23:23
  Speaker 4: wants us to love self right, and he promises fulfillment,
• 23:31
  Speaker 4: He promises empty. Sin will promise things but then will
• 23:35
  Speaker 4: not deliver. God is the only one who would fulfill
• 23:40
  Speaker 4: and make us whole. And so whatever you love, whoever
• 23:44
  Speaker 4: you love, you begin to serve. Right, Remember when you
• 23:48
  Speaker 4: started dating your spouse, Remember the beginning of that relationship,
• 23:54
  Speaker 4: when you just wanted to serve and please that person
• 23:58
  Speaker 4: because you love them. You wanted to make sure they're good.
• 24:01
  Speaker 4: You wanted to make sure they hate, or you wanted
• 24:04
  Speaker 4: to make sure that they had, you know, something they desired.
• 24:08
  Speaker 4: You know, you wanted to surprise them and bless them. Right,
• 24:14
  Speaker 4: and that should be supposed to be our motivation behind
• 24:19
  Speaker 4: serving God. Sometimes we fall into ruts and we go
• 24:24
  Speaker 4: to church just out of habit or out of tradition,
• 24:28
  Speaker 4: out of some obligation. A lot of people go to
• 24:32
