- 0:03Speaker 1: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from Al Salvador
- 0:07Speaker 1: accused of murdering a Texas man of Venezuelan charged with
- 0:11Speaker 1: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 0:15Speaker 1: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 0:19Speaker 1: Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christy nom the United States
- 0:23Speaker 1: Secretary of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted illegal border
- 0:28Speaker 1: crossings are at the lowest levels ever recorded, and over
- 0:31Speaker 1: one hundred thousand illegal aliens have been arrested. If you
- 0:35Speaker 1: are here illegally, your next you will be fined nearly
- 0:39Speaker 1: one thousand dollars a day, imprisoned, and deported. You will
- 0:43Speaker 1: never return. But if you register using our CBP home
- 0:46Speaker 1: app and leave now, you could be allowed to return legally.

- 0:57Speaker 2: Be protected sponsored by the United States Department of Homeland Security.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Man.
- 1:01Speaker 4: So it's a question first statement, that's all that.
- 1:05Speaker 5: So there's a couple of niggas every generation that wasn't
- 1:08Speaker 5: supposed to make it out.
- 1:09Speaker 4: But the code of naked.
- 1:12Speaker 6: When I get to speaks like a coded language, said,
- 1:15Speaker 6: I strengthen all the stolen greatness. Why side sluss and
- 1:18Speaker 6: now no my demonstration.
- 1:25Speaker 3: I mean for me watching nip studying Nip, I knew
- 1:29Speaker 3: how important all money in was from everything. He always
- 1:33Speaker 3: talked about them in every every part, every rap like no.
- 1:35Speaker 3: So it's like, in order to tell a story, you
- 1:39Speaker 3: have to go to the foundation Black sam Man, Cobby
- 1:43Speaker 3: and Hoggie and Packed Man, like these people are integral
- 1:47Speaker 3: parts of the Nipsey Hustle story. But also it's like
- 1:52Speaker 3: it shows that the marathon really continues, right because even
- 1:56Speaker 3: though he's not here, they're still here and they're all
- 1:59Speaker 3: in the visually doing things to carry the flag.
- 2:03Speaker 5: Crazy, right, And we were, you know, talking to a
- 2:07Speaker 5: a friend of ours about the people that we wanna
- 2:10Speaker 5: sit down with, and we expressed the young memphers obviously
- 2:12Speaker 5: at the top of the list.
- 2:13Speaker 7: But I wonder what black Son's doing right now, like
- 2:23Speaker 7: saying the man, appreciate, thank you for the hospitality, brother, appreciate.
- 2:27Speaker 4: You many appreciate that full circle moment. My god, Yes, sir,
- 2:31Speaker 4: so I.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Wanna talk about the evolution man we're on Melrose, Congratulations
- 2:35Speaker 3: on this beautiful story that's about to open soon. So
- 2:38Speaker 3: how's this failed transitioning from the T shirt shop to
- 2:42Speaker 3: being on Melrose and having the state of the art facility, Like,
- 2:44Speaker 3: how's that transition for you?
- 2:47Speaker 6: It's good just uh knowing where we where it came from,
- 2:51Speaker 6: and the vision hustle, Fat's the whole team everything trying
- 2:59Speaker 6: to build the brand, you know, before we really knew
- 3:01Speaker 6: what it was, to tryna figure something out legit. So
- 3:06Speaker 6: it feel good yea. Yeah, to be able to you know,
- 3:09Speaker 6: have the brick and mortar that we you know what
- 3:12Speaker 6: I'm saying, we own we we we own it. We
- 3:14Speaker 6: building it out and hopefully y'all willing to be open soon. Know,
- 3:18Speaker 6: definitely definitely feel good just to continue and get it,
- 3:22Speaker 6: like get it cemented and get and get a brick
- 3:25Speaker 6: and mortar location back open.
- 3:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:26Speaker 8: So let' let's talk about that cause you mean, from
- 3:28Speaker 8: slaw some Tea's the first brick and mortar right to
- 3:31Speaker 8: the Marathon stow to On in Clan shaw Toil, now.
- 3:33Speaker 4: That we're here talk about their points of that.
- 3:35Speaker 8: We see a lot of people doing e commerce, right
- 3:38Speaker 8: but you you you're pretty adamant about having the brick
- 3:40Speaker 8: and mortar talking about the importance of having Now yeah, I.
- 3:42Speaker 6: Think, uh that's a lesson from Bro from Hustle. Uh,
- 3:46Speaker 6: just really lacing me and I explain it really to
- 3:49Speaker 6: the whole team, just the importance and his vision as
- 3:52Speaker 6: far as like having a place that you can come
- 3:55Speaker 6: touch and feel that you have to come experience like
- 3:59Speaker 6: he he was saying retail. You know, you you gotta
- 4:02Speaker 6: own the retail and you gotta be able to you know,
- 4:05Speaker 6: make it special an and and build it out like
- 4:08Speaker 6: he would tell us to his uh you know, his
- 4:10Speaker 6: version of the san Rio MM like the Marathon store.
- 4:13Speaker 6: Like if you wanna come tap in with anything that
- 4:15Speaker 6: he's doing, marathon products, clothing, the only place you can
- 4:19Speaker 6: get it from is the actual brick and mortar store.
- 4:22Speaker 6: And that's where he was, you know, pressing for the
- 4:25Speaker 6: longest and you know, and and and that's what that's
- 4:28Speaker 6: what we following. That's that's that's the that's the blueprint,
- 4:32Speaker 6: I think even for when we was first getting going.
- 4:35Speaker 6: You know, people tryna get wholesale and us tryna go
- 4:37Speaker 6: wide and have it on different He like nah, nah, nah,
- 4:40Speaker 6: Like don't do that, just keep it tight, break and mortar.
- 4:44Speaker 6: They gotta go to the online or they gotta come
- 4:45Speaker 6: to the Marathon store. And so you know, I didn't
- 4:48Speaker 6: fully understand it at first, but little by little I
- 4:51Speaker 6: start seeing the genes in that. And that's why f
- 4:54Speaker 6: for me, it's important just to you know, stick to
- 4:56Speaker 6: the script. And Hustle was visionary, like he wanted to
- 4:59Speaker 6: eventually have t in Marathon stores and his goal was
- 5:04Speaker 6: to have he he like, man, when I wh when
- 5:06Speaker 6: I dropped a project, I wanna put out a hundred
- 5:08Speaker 6: thousd I wanna send a hundred thousand to each of
- 5:10Speaker 6: my stores strategically located. He said, I'm shipping. I'm I'm
- 5:13Speaker 6: shipping a million every time first day, And so we
- 5:16Speaker 6: was just looking like okay, so.
- 5:18Speaker 3: So yeah, yeah, so talk about the experience, cause we
- 5:22Speaker 3: on the rooftop. My understanding, it's gonna be like I
- 5:25Speaker 3: can see that Jacuzzi.
- 5:26Speaker 4: Nice, we'll get but.
- 5:30Speaker 3: You're gonna have TVs and they gotta you got a
- 5:32Speaker 3: studio downstairs, so it's not just a regular store, right,
- 5:35Speaker 3: So how important is that for you to create an
- 5:37Speaker 3: experience for the customer.
- 5:39Speaker 6: Yeah, the experience is important. And once again that's Hustle
- 5:42Speaker 6: him telling us like, uh, you know when I go
- 5:44Speaker 6: to a supreme, you know they got the skateboard ramp
- 5:46Speaker 6: in the middle. He like, man, I wanna be the
- 5:48Speaker 6: first store that got you know, uh uh a studio,
- 5:51Speaker 6: full functional studio in there. And he telling us the design.
- 5:55Speaker 6: So we did it exactly. We got the guy that
- 5:58Speaker 6: built Hustle Studios and know the demn near like family
- 6:01Speaker 6: to us. He always he came in put his touch
- 6:03Speaker 6: on it, and uh that's in there. We we we
- 6:06Speaker 6: gonna park the Brink truck in the middle of.
- 6:08Speaker 4: The legendary truck that's de yeah.
- 6:11Speaker 9: Yeah, and uh a.
- 6:11Speaker 6: Lot a lot, a lot of the little small details
- 6:13Speaker 6: that's important to us that we tryna make sure when
- 6:18Speaker 6: when downstairs opens up. But for now, this rooftop is
- 6:22Speaker 6: kind of gonna be like private shopping m you know
- 6:25Speaker 6: what I'm saying. If you wanna come through, we still you.
- 6:27Speaker 6: You still can get some of the new things that
- 6:28Speaker 6: we dropping and you maybe host events for the team
- 6:31Speaker 6: all money and team up here and those small things
- 6:34Speaker 6: with the cannabis. But that's what this space was. You know,
- 6:37Speaker 6: Hustle was always into some fly rooftop shit. So w
- 6:40Speaker 6: W when we seen this we like, alright, this is
- 6:42Speaker 6: this is something Bro would have came in and and
- 6:44Speaker 6: caught his bounce right here. He would have loved this.
- 6:45Speaker 6: So m you know, when we up here, we feel good.
- 6:48Speaker 6: It's clean. Like you said, we got the jacuzie there.
- 6:50Speaker 6: That shit came w W with that spot. As soon
- 6:52Speaker 6: as we seen it, we like, alright, we taking it.
- 6:54Speaker 3: This, this is.
- 6:55Speaker 6: It and yeah you know it's it's it's a little
- 6:59Speaker 6: by little man. We been we we been working on
- 7:00Speaker 6: this shit for a minute.
- 7:01Speaker 3: How mean how many? How long?
- 7:02Speaker 6: Since? Probably two thousand and twenty and uh through COVID, Yeah,
- 7:07Speaker 6: through c through we had to get permits and all
- 7:08Speaker 6: that through through COVID shut down and uh just you know,
- 7:12Speaker 6: self financing it, trying to get it done. But we
- 7:14Speaker 6: we damned there like ninety percent to the finish line.
- 7:16Speaker 6: So it's gonna be good.
- 7:19Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 7:20Speaker 8: So obviously the the first store, legendary store. One of
- 7:24Speaker 8: the visions for NIP was to have people come to
- 7:26Speaker 8: Grenshaw because it became a landmark. What what are the
- 7:28Speaker 8: plans for the vi uh the s the original marathon.
- 7:31Speaker 6: So original Marathon store for us, it's important. Uh, that's
- 7:34Speaker 6: that's gonna turn into the Neighborhood NIP Foundation. Mm so
- 7:38Speaker 6: the whole lot. You know, we still gonna keep the
- 7:41Speaker 6: original Marathon store there, but it's not gonna be like
- 7:43Speaker 6: anything for for for for sale or like business. Is
- 7:47Speaker 6: just strictly nonprofit Neighborhood NIP Foundation. I wanna bring back
- 7:51Speaker 6: to back the ninety tapping with Dave and have that
- 7:54Speaker 6: for the kids to come. You know, maybe like once
- 7:56Speaker 6: a week, two times a week on the weekends or something.
- 8:01Speaker 6: Have 'em teachers volunteer or we hire some teachers, h
- 8:03Speaker 6: get get you know, get some lessons in and for
- 8:06Speaker 6: that you earn a little studio time. Have a studio
- 8:08Speaker 6: in there, have him teach the kids how to uh
- 8:10Speaker 6: do music and uh you know, we got the barbershop there,
- 8:13Speaker 6: how to free haircuts, feed 'em, get 'em some clothes
- 8:17Speaker 6: and they had you know, and that that for me
- 8:19Speaker 6: is important on Crenshaw and Sloss. So that's the goal,
- 8:22Speaker 6: you know, that's it. That's in the that's in the plans.
- 8:24Speaker 4: Yeah, So how do how do we end up here?
- 8:25Speaker 9: Right?
- 8:26Speaker 8: So we're in mail Rows obviously a long way from Crenshaw, Right,
- 8:29Speaker 8: How did how did we end up and choose this location?
- 8:31Speaker 6: Specifically, I think, uh, for us, store number two was
- 8:36Speaker 6: always important that we came you know, like to fair
- 8:40Speaker 6: Facts or mail Rows. And I think when we were
- 8:43Speaker 6: about to open the first store, the goal kind of
- 8:45Speaker 6: cause cause a lot of shit that was going on.
- 8:47Speaker 6: We like, man, we need to go get we needed
- 8:50Speaker 6: to go move to shop. But Hustle wanted to make
- 8:52Speaker 6: sure he opened the first one on Crenshawn Sloss. And
- 8:54Speaker 6: so for all of us to plan with store number two,
- 8:57Speaker 6: we coming, we coming on Mailros or or fair Facts.
- 9:01Speaker 6: So in looking for you know, a ah a a
- 9:04Speaker 6: a new spot, we were all up and down Fairfax.
- 9:09Speaker 6: Nobody would least to us, and you know, rock Nation
- 9:13Speaker 6: tapped in with us and and and lint to state
- 9:15Speaker 6: they like top real estate person. So he came in.
- 9:17Speaker 6: He like, look, i'm'a find y'all building. So he ended
- 9:20Speaker 6: up saying, my boy got this building. He's finna move,
- 9:23Speaker 6: he's tryna sell it. It's it's it's closer towards Labret.
- 9:26Speaker 6: So like, nah, we wanna kind of be uh uh
- 9:28Speaker 6: uh by Fairfax. He like, trust me, just just just
- 9:30Speaker 6: pull up and come check the spot out. So I'm
- 9:32Speaker 6: like alright, So we pull up downstairs. I wasn't really sold.
- 9:35Speaker 6: But as soon as I walked upstairs, you know, like
- 9:38Speaker 6: I told y'all seen like the vision, he had the
- 9:39Speaker 6: elevator in here, he had to jacuzzie on the rooftop.
- 9:43Speaker 6: I'm amazed, like, man, what the fuck's So we like
- 9:46Speaker 6: we like, nah, this is you know, this is God,
- 9:48Speaker 6: like this this is us. And then he was selling it.
- 9:50Speaker 6: Damn there like half off. So we was like, alright,
- 9:53Speaker 6: this is you know, through through through all the months
- 9:55Speaker 6: and months and months of searching and getting turned down,
- 9:58Speaker 6: you know, I understood why it was s cause this
- 10:00Speaker 6: was meant for us at this time.
- 10:02Speaker 3: So so you own you owned the building? Yeah? Yeah,
- 10:04Speaker 3: how important is that to as opposed to Lisa.
- 10:07Speaker 10: Uh.
- 10:08Speaker 6: For me, it's important. You know when I say we
- 10:10Speaker 6: own it, it's in the kids, it's in it's in
- 10:12Speaker 6: Hustle kids names, you know, and and they trust funds
- 10:17Speaker 6: so when they get older, you know, this is something
- 10:21Speaker 6: that they father worked for and that they own. So
- 10:23Speaker 6: that's important for me. And then also just having brick
- 10:26Speaker 6: and mortar once again, the reinforcement Hustle told us and
- 10:30Speaker 6: taught us just through the ups and downs of you know,
- 10:33Speaker 6: of of whatever with business or brands. You know, whether
- 10:36Speaker 6: your shit is booming online and slows down. Just having
- 10:39Speaker 6: that brick and mortar and being able to pass it
- 10:41Speaker 6: down through the family. I think it's important and uh
- 10:45Speaker 6: that to me, that's the importance of us actually owning
- 10:47Speaker 6: this this property.
- 10:48Speaker 3: And in real estate play right, like it's gonna go
- 10:50Speaker 3: up in value. That's one hundred percent gonna happen. This
- 10:53Speaker 3: This is like Fifth Avenue, New York. Like there's no
- 10:55Speaker 3: way that you own real estate here and it doesn't
- 10:57Speaker 3: appreciate over the course of time.
- 10:58Speaker 6: Yeah, the uh just to what you're saying without saying
- 11:01Speaker 6: it like that, but you brought it up the p
- 11:02Speaker 6: The property has doubled already since sin since we since
- 11:05Speaker 6: we got it.
- 11:05Speaker 3: Yes, uh w why y why do you think you
- 11:07Speaker 3: are trouble? Cause for me, I would think that they
- 11:10Speaker 3: would wanna least to you guys y'all from LA And
- 11:13Speaker 3: the name is so big. As soon as the door
- 11:15Speaker 3: is open, it's gonna be a line wrapped around the block.
- 11:17Speaker 3: So I'm I'm actually surprised that you had trouble.
- 11:19Speaker 6: Right, you know, it was al I I It's I.
- 11:22Speaker 3: It was.
- 11:22Speaker 6: It's always a lot attached to it. I don't know
- 11:24Speaker 6: exactly a hundred percent, but I feel like, you know,
- 11:27Speaker 6: they was like, nah we not not not not over here.
- 11:30Speaker 6: So but every like I said, everything happened for a reason.
- 11:34Speaker 6: You know, I was mad at the PO at the time,
- 11:36Speaker 6: but I feel like it was part of the you
- 11:38Speaker 6: know it it's without without getting turned down, we would
- 11:41Speaker 6: have never yet. Yeah, a hundred percent h fact.
- 11:44Speaker 4: So as I feel like.
- 11:47Speaker 8: You have a responsibility in a sense to carry the
- 11:49Speaker 8: blue playing carry carry the torch for the family name.
- 11:51Speaker 5: How important is it is a team? Cause we never
- 11:54Speaker 5: COLLI obviously we got how you hear how.
- 11:56Speaker 8: I was in point when you and leaning on them
- 11:58Speaker 8: when you tryna kept uh create decision is about the
- 12:01Speaker 8: business side, right or or are they intercal in there?
- 12:03Speaker 8: Are you integal in their in their endeavors as well?
- 12:06Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 12:06Speaker 6: I think I think for us, you know, it's to
- 12:09Speaker 6: hustle away. Anytime hustle went out and a A and
- 12:14Speaker 6: and and put something down, he always reached back, involved me,
- 12:18Speaker 6: reached back, involved, facts, reached back, definitely involved. You know
- 12:21Speaker 6: the whole all money in team Cobby Pack, Hoggy Stone,
- 12:27Speaker 6: and I think they all eer the whole team hustlers anyway,
- 12:32Speaker 6: since you know, since I was younger, you know what
- 12:36Speaker 6: I'm saying, when we was trying to get money. Ever,
- 12:37Speaker 6: the whole team, Cobby been having money spots. You know
- 12:41Speaker 6: what I'm saying. We always looked up to Cobby as
- 12:42Speaker 6: a grinder and so he always had his shit going.
- 12:45Speaker 6: Pack always was a young niggas grinding, and I think
- 12:49Speaker 6: number one, that's why the synergies with Nip Hoggy. Same thing.
- 12:52Speaker 6: Hogy was a young nigga in a in a whip.
- 12:54Speaker 6: I think he couldn't even he wasn't even supposed to
- 12:56Speaker 6: be driving, you know what I'm saying. You know what
- 12:59Speaker 6: I'm saying. So ah, the whole team is hustlers, and
- 13:03Speaker 6: I think we all took you know, advice and inspiration
- 13:09Speaker 6: you know from Hustle and UH and vice versus. He
- 13:12Speaker 6: came and his team was strong and and so you know,
- 13:16Speaker 6: anything that we can do to help always. You know,
- 13:19Speaker 6: they got their own clothing brands, they got they own
- 13:21Speaker 6: you know, studios, they own movements, websites and and shit booming.
- 13:27Speaker 6: And you know, once we get this open, you know,
- 13:31Speaker 6: my my my goal is obviously collabs or anything we
- 13:35Speaker 6: can do to help you know, the the individual brands. Uh,
- 13:38Speaker 6: we're here to do you know as Hustle always do,
- 13:40Speaker 6: they always would do. You know, we gonna continue.
- 13:43Speaker 3: So what's the what's the corporate structure here? Cause I
- 13:45Speaker 3: know a lot of people who don't see what goes
- 13:47Speaker 3: on behind the scenes. But we met JP and I'm
- 13:49Speaker 3: sure there's other people that's involved. Yeah, you wanna talk
- 13:52Speaker 3: about that, like the different people in the their responsibilities.
- 13:55Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, a hundred percent to the As far as
- 13:57Speaker 6: the marathon team, the who the whole all money in
- 14:03Speaker 6: team and the whole team is it is, it is
- 14:05Speaker 6: highly involved and they tap in. But as far as
- 14:07Speaker 6: like the every day marathon team, that's JP, that's Adam
- 14:13Speaker 6: myself and you know, as far as like designing the
- 14:21Speaker 6: seven days a week, trying to figure out sourcing, online financing,
- 14:28Speaker 6: just that's the team that's just every day putting in
- 14:30Speaker 6: everything for this for for this brand. As far as
- 14:34Speaker 6: like tryna get it open and get it to the
- 14:36Speaker 6: next level. So you know, since day one, you know,
- 14:41Speaker 6: uh when when when a and you know facts is
- 14:44Speaker 6: no longer here, but his family is a I I
- 14:47Speaker 6: I is a part owner in the Marathon clothing and
- 14:49Speaker 6: the Marathon as as a brand with us. So every
- 14:53Speaker 6: step of the way, you know, we we we gotta
- 14:55Speaker 6: make sure that they come in with us. And you
- 14:57Speaker 6: know when we open this store, they kids and they
- 14:59Speaker 6: family know too it this is this is y'all, this
- 15:01Speaker 6: is this is part owned by y'all. Two and uh,
- 15:03Speaker 6: this is something that your father, you know, sh struggle
- 15:07Speaker 6: for and sacrifice for. So not to belong with it.
- 15:11Speaker 6: But when you talk about the the the the the
- 15:15Speaker 6: the Marathon team. As far as the ownership, there's nip Fats, JP,
- 15:22Speaker 6: Adam and myself.
- 15:24Speaker 3: Mm W talk about the marathon. There's different branches, right,
- 15:28Speaker 3: the marathon o G. The the m the cannabis side, yeah,
- 15:31Speaker 3: the clothing side. What what encompasses the whole situation?
- 15:36Speaker 6: I think the the brand that you know, Hustle created
- 15:40Speaker 6: the brand. Think I talked about it before. Uh, the
- 15:46Speaker 6: the the Marathon mixtape was the first time when I
- 15:48Speaker 6: heard it, and you know, I'm fresh out hustles killing
- 15:53Speaker 6: 'em in the streets. Bullets ain't got no names. Uh
- 15:56Speaker 6: you know, we think with a volume one and two,
- 15:58Speaker 6: I'm first hearing it, I'm like, uh, nigga, we don't
- 16:00Speaker 6: everywhere we so you know, I'm I'm how I'm I'm
- 16:03Speaker 6: high energy. I'm like, bro, you it's it's a rap
- 16:05Speaker 6: when you got it. And and and we put our
- 16:07Speaker 6: volume three, and as nipp is working on the next project,
- 16:10Speaker 6: he's like, uh, this next one, i'm'a call the Marathon mm.
- 16:14Speaker 6: And so I'm like, what nah, nah nah?
- 16:16Speaker 9: What do you man?
- 16:16Speaker 6: We gonna run bullets? Ain't got no names to volume tens, Like,
- 16:20Speaker 6: don't like what you talking about?
- 16:21Speaker 4: We don't, right?
- 16:21Speaker 6: He like, nah, nah, bro, trust me And him and
- 16:25Speaker 6: JP had been tapping in a lot and reading books
- 16:28Speaker 6: on branding, and you know, JP was taking photos, black
- 16:30Speaker 6: and white photos, and he was really you know, creating
- 16:33Speaker 6: logos and so he laid the vision off, you know,
- 16:36Speaker 6: to us, and that created the Marathon brand. And I
- 16:39Speaker 6: didn't fully understand it at that point, but when the
- 16:41Speaker 6: project came out, seeing how wide it went, and I seen,
- 16:44Speaker 6: like he said, he he like, man, I don't like
- 16:46Speaker 6: the energy at the shows. You know, we hopping off
- 16:49Speaker 6: of stages, getting into fights with niggas, shootouts and every
- 16:52Speaker 6: like that. Ain't that that That's not the energy your
- 16:55Speaker 6: nigga wanna bring. I wanna bring like inspiration and so
- 16:58Speaker 6: I didn't fully understand it. But once the project came
- 17:01Speaker 6: out and I start seeing the difference, I start seeing
- 17:06Speaker 6: people coming with resumes, people coming in and tell 'em, bro, like, Man,
- 17:08Speaker 6: I'm in college. I'm staying in college cause of your message.
- 17:11Speaker 6: And you know, I said, that's th that's the point
- 17:14Speaker 6: where I said, oh, this, you know, bro, this is genius.
- 17:17Speaker 6: And from that came the Marathon Continues mixtape, and you know,
- 17:22Speaker 6: the clothing brand. Tryna figure out what to call the
- 17:25Speaker 6: clothing brand came Marathon Clothing and you know, like you say,
- 17:30Speaker 6: Marathon og and just that those are the branches that
- 17:33Speaker 6: came from, you know, from the Marathon brand.
- 17:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:36Speaker 8: I mean, one one of the things you know obviously
- 17:39Speaker 8: that y'all made known was Crenshaw, Right, So we talked
- 17:43Speaker 8: about the bulls having no names.
- 17:45Speaker 4: We talked about the Marathon mixtape, but talk about the.
- 17:47Speaker 5: Importance of when cr that Crenshaw mixtape and the business
- 17:50Speaker 5: plan behind that hit the streets and and and what
- 17:52Speaker 5: it was like going through at that time.
- 17:55Speaker 6: I think for me, I I remember when I first
- 17:58Speaker 6: got out Hustle and Adam was doing the MySpace, you know,
- 18:02Speaker 6: and I didn't know what that exactly was, but they
- 18:05Speaker 6: like they finna start build, start building a touring, and
- 18:10Speaker 6: you know, they getting uh versus and getting booked for shows.
- 18:13Speaker 6: And I remember Adam like, man, everybody on this MySpace
- 18:17Speaker 6: keep asking about this Crenshaw crew neck that nip war
- 18:20Speaker 6: in the Hustle in the House video, like everybody talking
- 18:23Speaker 6: about where can I get it? So I'm fresh, I'm
- 18:25Speaker 6: like fresh out, Like hold on, huh. So I'm like, alright,
- 18:27Speaker 6: that's what we gonna do. So me and Fats immediately
- 18:30Speaker 6: just went and tried to recreate the crew necks and
- 18:34Speaker 6: from that the Crenshaw hoodies and we started seeing the
- 18:41Speaker 6: the everybody was on on on the sweater. So I'm like, alright,
- 18:44Speaker 6: we gonna try to get the shot back. And we
- 18:47Speaker 6: got the shot back and moving forward, you know, Hustle
- 18:50Speaker 6: obviously anytime we would do anything, he taking it and
- 18:53Speaker 6: putting it on, putting it on every video, putting it on,
- 18:56Speaker 6: and just making that shit go out of here like
- 18:59Speaker 6: gold record. Everybody wanted 'em and we started seeing but
- 19:02Speaker 6: we were like, you know, how do we take it
- 19:05Speaker 6: to the next level? And I think when the crunch
- 19:08Speaker 6: All mixtape came out to me from looking back at it.
- 19:12Speaker 6: That was the next level cause it was a different font.
- 19:15Speaker 6: It was the old school boys in the hood fund
- 19:20Speaker 6: you know. Him and JP did the photo and JP
- 19:23Speaker 6: created it. I U or pulled it. I think JP?
- 19:25Speaker 6: You you you sent it? You sent it to us
- 19:29Speaker 6: or you?
- 19:30Speaker 11: I said, why don't we why haven't we flipped this yet?
- 19:32Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 19:33Speaker 12: Yeah, May made perfect saying something like this happened in
- 19:36Speaker 12: your neighborhood.
- 19:37Speaker 3: Yep.
- 19:37Speaker 12: I'm like, and it's another variation of the logo and
- 19:40Speaker 12: the hustle is the one that took ownership. And it's like,
- 19:43Speaker 12: this is what the mixtape's gonna be called. And i'm'a
- 19:44Speaker 12: word on the on the cover and this is gonna
- 19:47Speaker 12: be the the design that's attached to this project. Oh yeah,
- 19:53Speaker 12: I didn't.
- 19:54Speaker 11: You know, it's so many thing I could.
- 19:56Speaker 12: Speak about, but you know Sam s speak, you know,
- 19:58Speaker 12: hits it right on the head.
- 20:00Speaker 3: So we were talking talking about Brandon before you when
- 20:02Speaker 3: you guys in the office. We was talking and everything
- 20:05Speaker 3: is just so iconic with the flag. The color scheme
- 20:11Speaker 3: is it's like Nike, like there's certain brands. When you
- 20:14Speaker 3: see it, it's like you just want to buy it
- 20:17Speaker 3: just to wear it. Like, you know what I mean,
- 20:18Speaker 3: because it means something. How is that point in putting
- 20:21Speaker 3: that play together? Like whose idea was it to have
- 20:23Speaker 3: the flag and have the red and white and have
- 20:26Speaker 3: it looked the way that it looked, because it's actually
- 20:30Speaker 3: very very iconic feel to it.
- 20:33Speaker 12: That's the offspring of Hustle and I having conversations about
- 20:36Speaker 12: rebranding and turning the you know, his brand and everything
- 20:40Speaker 12: he represents on his head, you know. Now the bull
- 20:44Speaker 12: thing got on the name series is you know, like
- 20:46Speaker 12: Sam said, was a classic. It's undisputable, and it was
- 20:50Speaker 12: important to lay that foundation so people know like where
- 20:53Speaker 12: he's coming from and the realities of where he's coming from.
- 20:56Speaker 12: He's never wanted to glamorize it, of course, but just
- 20:58Speaker 12: to express it, you know, and it's raw format and
- 21:03Speaker 12: give people an update that what's happening in the streets
- 21:05Speaker 12: of la because there had been so many other versions
- 21:07Speaker 12: prior to it that were to nostalgic and felt like
- 21:10Speaker 12: something that was borrowed from the past, and so we're
- 21:13Speaker 12: coming with the marathon brand. He wanted everything to be
- 21:16Speaker 12: brand new, So I'm coming and coming up with the
- 21:18Speaker 12: box logo, a marathon box logo. The flag you alluded to,
- 21:23Speaker 12: we took. We borrowed from Life Magazine. That's where the
- 21:27Speaker 12: reference is from.
- 21:28Speaker 8: I was looking at him like, because I know the
- 21:29Speaker 8: impact that the supreme thing had on it having a Breakdore,
- 21:32Speaker 8: I was like the box.
- 21:33Speaker 12: They did it too, people on Mayfield, and they caught
- 21:36Speaker 12: they actually referenced from someone else, right, Ours was from
- 21:40Speaker 12: Life Magazine. Because the imagery that we created for the
- 21:43Speaker 12: campaign was in black and white on film when all
- 21:46Speaker 12: of our counterparts and everybody was going digital because it
- 21:48Speaker 12: was more cost effective and it had to you know,
- 21:50Speaker 12: you can upload it a lot quicker. We went the
- 21:53Speaker 12: complete opposite way against the grain, and we went with
- 21:56Speaker 12: blackmore film. And so one of the publications that always
- 22:00Speaker 12: that I brought to the table was Life Magazine, and
- 22:02Speaker 12: so that's where we balled the concept for that. And
- 22:07Speaker 12: then with the flag, that was you know, every movement
- 22:09Speaker 12: has its flag, so we had to have ours.
- 22:11Speaker 11: And so again Hustle.
- 22:13Speaker 12: Hustle always came up with these like really concise and
- 22:16Speaker 12: specific ideas and then he just handed it off to
- 22:18Speaker 12: me for execution, and it always worked out.
- 22:21Speaker 3: Even the color of red, it just popped, like got
- 22:24Speaker 3: talked about that.
- 22:25Speaker 12: Yeah, I would say so, I mean we could have
- 22:28Speaker 12: of course, you know, instinctly people probably felt hustle about
- 22:31Speaker 12: would want to go with blue.
- 22:33Speaker 11: But just read and white just pops out.
- 22:35Speaker 3: I read a book. But it's like a most fast
- 22:38Speaker 3: food restaurants, it's red and yellow. Something about red. It's
- 22:43Speaker 3: an appealing color, like get your appetite, gets your appetite all.
- 22:47Speaker 5: You Wedonald's, Windy's, almost everything.
- 22:50Speaker 3: If you notice every fast food company uses red.
- 22:53Speaker 12: It some capacity also represents passion, you know, like your
- 22:56Speaker 12: heart usually, So there's different colors that that people identify
- 23:01Speaker 12: with different emotions and right, definitely, you know makes sense
- 23:03Speaker 12: far Maybe.
- 23:04Speaker 8: I'm glad you stepped in because I want to talk
- 23:06Speaker 8: about logistics forts that.
- 23:07Speaker 3: Sure.
- 23:08Speaker 8: Obviously Marathon brand has blown up, right Obviously after the
- 23:15Speaker 8: untimely passing of NIP, there was an influx of orders, right.
- 23:19Speaker 4: And what was that process?
- 23:20Speaker 8: Like even now where it's like we have a lot
- 23:23Speaker 8: of inventory to get out, how do we balance it
- 23:25Speaker 8: by order? Like what's the balance when when you when
- 23:27Speaker 8: you're taking inventory in trying to get it out as
- 23:29Speaker 8: fast as possible with the influx of people trying to
- 23:33Speaker 8: get the product.
- 23:34Speaker 11: And we were forced to scale.
- 23:35Speaker 12: I mean we all we naturally wanted to grow and
- 23:38Speaker 12: exponentially little by little by little, but you know, there was,
- 23:42Speaker 12: like you said, an outpour of orders and influx that
- 23:45Speaker 12: you know, it was hard with our existing system that
- 23:48Speaker 12: was completely in house to shift from you know this
- 23:51Speaker 12: the store on Clenchew Slosson out to you know, any
- 23:54Speaker 12: corner of the world that was ordering. So we just
- 23:56Speaker 12: had to We just had to partner with the right
- 23:58Speaker 12: fulfillment team.
- 24:01Speaker 11: Level up on our production.
- 24:03Speaker 12: That that was really pretty much it, you know, just
- 24:05Speaker 12: making sure that we have we had the proper system
- 24:08Speaker 12: in place, you know, to meet it the mass.
- 24:09Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean it's one of those things.
- 24:10Speaker 8: A lot of times people they'll get an influx business,
- 24:13Speaker 8: but they're not ready to scale, right, and so you
- 24:15Speaker 8: have to be prepared to have a system you found
- 24:17Speaker 8: a fulfillment So these are these are things, Yeah, I.
- 24:19Speaker 12: Think we had we had them kind of in our
- 24:21Speaker 12: corner already. A couple of people stepped up and I think,
- 24:24Speaker 12: you know, one of one of the things that the
- 24:27Speaker 12: team is very adaptable, you know, so whatever the circumstance
- 24:30Speaker 12: may be, we fit. We were resourced when we figured
- 24:33Speaker 12: things out and let me speak.
- 24:36Speaker 6: Rock Nation tapped us in with Live Nation MM at
- 24:39Speaker 6: that point, and you know, to what you're saying, it was,
- 24:43Speaker 6: there's no way we could have fulfilled those amount of
- 24:46Speaker 6: orders or even sourced the product, created the product. It
- 24:53Speaker 6: was so many, you know what I'm saying. We the
- 24:55Speaker 6: back end of our website. We used to leave it
- 24:58Speaker 6: like thousands of units. We'll get twenty or a hundred,
- 25:01Speaker 6: we'll go make 'em real quick week turn around when
- 25:04Speaker 6: you have hundreds and hundreds of thousands of orders, yeah,
- 25:07Speaker 6: it's no way. But they tapped us in with Live Nation.
- 25:09Speaker 6: They came in, you know, no contract, nothing, no nothing, free,
- 25:15Speaker 6: took everything that we had, went in, helped us source
- 25:18Speaker 6: everything and fulfill all the orders and got us caught up.
- 25:20Speaker 6: You know, it took it took maybe some months of logistics,
- 25:23Speaker 6: but they the ones, did the heavy lifting and got
- 25:27Speaker 6: us to a point where, you know, everything had either
- 25:30Speaker 6: been f refunded or fulfilled. And then at that point
- 25:36Speaker 6: it was for us to keep scaling and keep figuring
- 25:38Speaker 6: out customer service. You know, we got a new fulfillment center. Uh,
- 25:43Speaker 6: I think we had with them. We th they had
- 25:45Speaker 6: a spot in what L like San Diego. Now we
- 25:48Speaker 6: got it back when Compton. Mmm, we can go there
- 25:51Speaker 6: every day tap in. We got the customer service and
- 25:54Speaker 6: just every day. It's just adding and building it out
- 25:57Speaker 6: and just trying to scale. But it is, it's it's
- 26:00Speaker 6: a full time job.
- 26:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:01Speaker 3: So like talk about the customer service, how is that?
- 26:04Speaker 3: I'm assuming pe most people gave you grace, But how
- 26:07Speaker 3: is that As far as navigating complainants and stuff like that.
- 26:11Speaker 3: I'm sure people you know, like, yeah.
- 26:12Speaker 6: As they supposed you know, w I one thing I
- 26:14Speaker 6: told the team, Look, this ain't gonna be easy.
- 26:16Speaker 9: You know.
- 26:17Speaker 6: We come from hustling. So you know, y at the
- 26:20Speaker 6: end of day, we ain't taking nobody money like you know,
- 26:22Speaker 6: we you gonna get your money back or you gonna
- 26:24Speaker 6: wait until we can fulfill it. And we ain't over
- 26:27Speaker 6: here with our feet up. We en this morning, fuckus
- 26:29Speaker 6: seven days a week. We we we we cutting even
- 26:32Speaker 6: or we losing money to get your shit fulfilled, you know.
- 26:35Speaker 6: And you know it ain't like you know, it's a hustle.
- 26:39Speaker 6: It's not a it's not I it's a marathon. It's
- 26:41Speaker 6: not it's not a sprint, you know. And as and
- 26:43Speaker 6: what we're trying to do is you know, we not
- 26:46Speaker 6: we not owned by no corporation. It's just self finance.
- 26:49Speaker 6: This is you know, this is built from the ground
- 26:52Speaker 6: break by bricks. So you know, for the most part,
- 26:55Speaker 6: people understand and uh, people tapping in and if you can't,
- 26:59Speaker 6: we we get we refunding your bread it shit, this
- 27:02Speaker 6: ain't no, this ain't no heist. And you know what
- 27:04Speaker 6: I'm saying to some real shit, it's not a heist.
- 27:07Speaker 6: And at the end of the day, you know, we
- 27:10Speaker 6: we we we we making progress. You know, little by little,
- 27:12Speaker 6: we got the customer service full full time. We got
- 27:15Speaker 6: the huge facility. You know what I'm saying, we got
- 27:18Speaker 6: we're upgrading all the quality of the products. We t
- 27:20Speaker 6: we really tapping in with more cutting and soap. We
- 27:22Speaker 6: got the brick and mortar that's coming. So I think,
- 27:25Speaker 6: you know, during the process, it's easy for people to
- 27:29Speaker 6: get like, you know, get crazy. You know what I'm saying,
- 27:31Speaker 6: We we understand, listen, just love. But I feel like
- 27:34Speaker 6: when we finally put it together and put the pieces together,
- 27:37Speaker 6: people gonna salute and gonna be like, Okay, I understand.
- 27:40Speaker 3: Yeah that did a collab with Puma. Is there more
- 27:44Speaker 3: collabs like that, cause we see that happening a lot,
- 27:46Speaker 3: whether it's Balinciaga and Adidas or Prada and Adidas, and
- 27:50Speaker 3: a lot of these brands collaborate with each other. Is
- 27:54Speaker 3: that something that you wanna do more?
- 27:56Speaker 6: Yeah, c collabse is good as far as Puma, you know,
- 28:01Speaker 6: with with us, it's it's it's they really close to
- 28:04Speaker 6: our heart because they gave Hustle a they gave Hustle
- 28:08Speaker 6: a deal. And actually our collab is because of Hustle.
- 28:12Speaker 6: Like gotta say, Hustle, Hustle. Hustle went and and and
- 28:14Speaker 6: figured it out for himself and always you know, within
- 28:17Speaker 6: that deal he taught 'em Listen, I appreciate it. But
- 28:20Speaker 6: within my deal, you need to write in once a year,
- 28:23Speaker 6: you have to do a collab with my clothing brand,
- 28:25Speaker 6: with my team, Marathon Clothing. And so he got that
- 28:28Speaker 6: inked into his first deal and so because of that,
- 28:32Speaker 6: you know that that was that was the reason of
- 28:34Speaker 6: our collab with Puma. And then you know, after everything,
- 28:39Speaker 6: they came back to the table and made sure the
- 28:41Speaker 6: kids were set up straight. Had nothing to do with
- 28:46Speaker 6: sales of clothes or or the the the the success
- 28:50Speaker 6: of the capsules just off the top every year. They
- 28:52Speaker 6: hitting the kids and they trust fund, they they they
- 28:55Speaker 6: they did it right for Hustle, and uh, they allowed
- 28:57Speaker 6: us to also do the collapse and do it the
- 29:00Speaker 6: way we wanna do it. It's not about like selling
- 29:03Speaker 6: a lot of units or printing up a lot of
- 29:04Speaker 6: T shirts and going wide and all. This is just
- 29:06Speaker 6: let's do it tasteful. Let's come in with the hustle away,
- 29:09Speaker 6: create pieces that the Hustle actually wore. Bring in Groovy
- 29:13Speaker 6: who designed him for us, and yeah man and yeah,
- 29:17Speaker 6: a hundred percent shout out to Groove Man. He came
- 29:20Speaker 6: in same thing, just passionate. And that collab is' is
- 29:25Speaker 6: 's special. Not to belong with it, but that collab
- 29:27Speaker 6: will Puma, it's special to us. Yeah.
- 29:29Speaker 4: So I in terms of collapse, h how about products?
- 29:32Speaker 10: Right?
- 29:32Speaker 5: Are there new products that that we see that are
- 29:35Speaker 5: coming from the Marathon brand. I know we just dropped
- 29:37Speaker 5: the new the new uh the lion logo, right, so
- 29:40Speaker 5: I got that in us too, that that's actually in
- 29:42Speaker 5: my in my c it's already in my card I
- 29:44Speaker 5: it's on the way to my house. I'm sure sortinly,
- 29:46Speaker 5: but are there more products that you guys envisioned in
- 29:49Speaker 5: the future.
- 29:49Speaker 6: Yeah, a hundred percent. I think JP, you know, JP
- 29:53Speaker 6: be keeping a sharp with the products.
- 29:54Speaker 9: Man.
- 29:54Speaker 6: We just did the money machine, the custom that was
- 29:57Speaker 6: that was one of the NIP ideas and so you know,
- 30:00Speaker 6: always happy for us to bring it, bring it to life.
- 30:02Speaker 6: Now one of them fake money machines that just count
- 30:04Speaker 6: the bills, actual machine that counts the currency and branded
- 30:09Speaker 6: with all money in on it. But yeah, I'll pass
- 30:14Speaker 6: it to JP. He got a lot of a lot
- 30:16Speaker 6: of plans and a lot of ideas for the future.
- 30:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:18Speaker 12: I mean as far as it comes to apparel and products,
- 30:21Speaker 12: I mean just continue wanting to push the envelope and
- 30:25Speaker 12: come with with stuff that, you know, that people want
- 30:29Speaker 12: to use on a daily basis in terms of clothing,
- 30:31Speaker 12: something that's visually appealing, that's comfortable, that's fashionable. I mean,
- 30:37Speaker 12: we we got we got a pretty solid team, always
- 30:40Speaker 12: looking to bring in new designers, you know that bring
- 30:43Speaker 12: fresh perspectives to fashion and to design. But really a
- 30:47Speaker 12: lot of it is inspired by, you know, by Hustle.
- 30:49Speaker 12: He laid the blueprint for so many different things. We
- 30:52Speaker 12: don't try to deviate too far away from that and
- 30:55Speaker 12: go out of our our well, I don't want to
- 30:57Speaker 12: say comfort zone, but just do things that are true,
- 31:00Speaker 12: true to to the marathon brand. You know, we don't
- 31:02Speaker 12: try to swerve it into other people's lanes because they
- 31:05Speaker 12: may be may be more commercially.
- 31:07Speaker 11: Viable or might you might be more lucrative. We just
- 31:10Speaker 11: do things that we feel.
- 31:11Speaker 12: You know, we all as a collective feel comfortable and
- 31:14Speaker 12: we feel excited about and you know, we we we
- 31:17Speaker 12: we take one step at a time.
- 31:18Speaker 3: When when is the the grand opening, the expected expected
- 31:22Speaker 3: grant opening?
- 31:24Speaker 6: Uh Man, honestly, we still working. I think we we close.
- 31:28Speaker 6: We don't have a exact date, but definitely gotta be
- 31:31Speaker 6: uh this year. You know, we we we we we pushing.
- 31:34Speaker 6: We got a lot of ideas and uh things that
- 31:39Speaker 6: we know we have to present before we can't open,
- 31:43Speaker 6: and so all of 'em are being worked on. Uh.
- 31:46Speaker 6: But once we w w once those get built out,
- 31:48Speaker 6: we still wanna come in and really you know, bring
- 31:51Speaker 6: interesting and do some things with the new technology that
- 31:55Speaker 6: he he he he has going and we wanna take
- 31:58Speaker 6: a step back and make sure that when you do
- 32:01Speaker 6: come and it is open, it's y it's an experience.
- 32:03Speaker 6: So there's no, it's no rush. We just wanna make
- 32:06Speaker 6: sure we nail it, get it right.
- 32:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I just that's our guy.
- 32:09Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 32:09Speaker 3: Uh Actually, I'm glad you said that because I know
- 32:12Speaker 3: that Nip had the vision of making it a smart store.
- 32:15Speaker 3: It's technology still a major part. And is you planning
- 32:18Speaker 3: on doing that, making this as a smart store.
- 32:20Speaker 6: Yeah, a hundred percent, hundred percent. It's like exactly what
- 32:23Speaker 6: you're saying. When we finish the build out, we gotta
- 32:25Speaker 6: bring him in and and and let him you know,
- 32:27Speaker 6: yea too. And it's and it's no, it's no rush.
- 32:30Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 32:31Speaker 6: It ain't no rush, Just get it right and then
- 32:34Speaker 6: you know, we'll feel comfortable with you know, opening up.
- 32:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 32:38Speaker 5: So whenever that happens, there's there's a guarantee that that
- 32:41Speaker 5: we will be here to support that that you know,
- 32:43Speaker 5: from New York and from obviously when we any time
- 32:45Speaker 5: we're in La tapping in man it it it's a
- 32:47Speaker 5: it's a true hon a true honor to be here
- 32:49Speaker 5: in your presence and for you to share your space, man,
- 32:51Speaker 5: and your time and the family with us.
- 32:52Speaker 3: Man it, this has been incredible.
- 32:54Speaker 6: Now, I appreciate y'all pulling up.
- 32:55Speaker 9: Well, it's too easy.
- 32:56Speaker 3: I appreciate you brother, thank you many. Just get a
- 32:59Speaker 3: couple of minutes in there. Ye sure. Alright, So this
- 33:15Speaker 3: is a sneak peek. One room. Yeah, tell us, tell
- 33:17Speaker 3: us where we at right now, what's the valve?
- 33:19Speaker 9: Uh?
- 33:19Speaker 6: This is the rooftop. This is like kind of like
- 33:22Speaker 6: private shopping. So while we still getting downstairs renovated, taking
- 33:27Speaker 6: our time with it, we gonna probably within another couple
- 33:31Speaker 6: of weeks open this up like uh, private shopping, so
- 33:34Speaker 6: you can book in time slots. All the new stuff
- 33:37Speaker 6: that we designed and new cutting, so some of the
- 33:39Speaker 6: old classics you can get 'em from here, just to
- 33:44Speaker 6: you know, be able to offer some type of uh
- 33:46Speaker 6: uh brick and mortar location while we wait on the
- 33:50Speaker 6: other the the the main shop to be designed. So
- 33:53Speaker 6: it's some of the new stuff, the classics, the frenchawe,
- 33:56Speaker 6: hoodies shirts, some of the new designs.
- 34:00Speaker 3: Yeah cool. And this is the short set, the the set,
- 34:04Speaker 3: the hoodie set. Yeah, this is new.
- 34:06Speaker 4: Yeah, that's yeah. I'm about to say I haven't seen this
- 34:08Speaker 4: on the side yet.
- 34:10Speaker 5: This is one of those things, so I s I
- 34:12Speaker 5: see the paper planes up there.
- 34:13Speaker 4: You spoke about rock Nation man that that relationship. Talk
- 34:16Speaker 4: about how.
- 34:16Speaker 8: Solid that's been, how important it's been to to the
- 34:19Speaker 8: the development of the marathon.
- 34:20Speaker 6: Yeah, I think just solid people. NIP had a real
- 34:24Speaker 6: close relationship with uh Emory m and you know he
- 34:28Speaker 6: he he brought the situation for uh NIP to be
- 34:34Speaker 6: signed with rock Nation, brought the Puma deal together, and
- 34:37Speaker 6: aside from that, just had a real solid relationship. Like
- 34:41Speaker 6: I met Emory through you know, NIP introducing me to him.
- 34:44Speaker 6: And so I think they aside from business, they just
- 34:48Speaker 6: been there to kind of make sure everything is done correctly,
- 34:52Speaker 6: help out at any time we need uh they a
- 34:55Speaker 6: phone call away, and it also advise, you know, and
- 34:57Speaker 6: and and so been a blessing man any I in
- 35:00Speaker 6: any opportunity, especially with you know, clothing or anything that
- 35:03Speaker 6: they have, they always pass it to us and just
- 35:06Speaker 6: extend the olive treat man. So they definitely been a
- 35:09Speaker 6: hundred percent man and we appreciative.
- 35:11Speaker 3: So is this is this part gonna be once the
- 35:15Speaker 3: store fully opens? Is this gonna be like a VIP
- 35:17Speaker 3: shopping experience. Yeah, yeah, that's what we think. And this
- 35:19Speaker 3: would be once it's open.
- 35:20Speaker 6: It's like you know, somebody d kind of don't wanna
- 35:22Speaker 6: be se be down there or wanna kind of like
- 35:24Speaker 6: get in in and out. Yeah, come up here and
- 35:29Speaker 6: you know do they thing and some of the new
- 35:30Speaker 6: stuff people coming out of town. You wanna get something
- 35:33Speaker 6: that ain't out yet, come up to the top and
- 35:35Speaker 6: get it. You know when y'all put up man, y'all, y'all.
- 35:37Speaker 3: Gotta get go.
- 35:38Speaker 6: We got.
- 35:40Speaker 4: That's crazy.
- 35:41Speaker 8: I just this that uh series just the the released
- 35:44Speaker 8: uh like two weeks ago.
- 35:45Speaker 4: The Flowers. Yeah yeah, yeah yeah, man.
- 35:47Speaker 3: Just so talk about this. We gotta talk about this
- 35:50Speaker 3: before you how what does this mean to you? Six million?
- 35:52Speaker 3: So it got all of the his body, his discography,
- 35:57Speaker 3: you know you saw it from the beginning stages. So
- 36:00Speaker 3: you know, how does that feel to actually have this
- 36:02Speaker 3: this these plaques, platinum goal on the music?
- 36:05Speaker 6: So M it's good because Hustle, you know, deserved it.
- 36:09Speaker 9: Man.
- 36:09Speaker 6: I just wish you know he I I it would
- 36:11Speaker 6: have been while he was here. But f for me,
- 36:13Speaker 6: the most important thing is you know, his daughter and
- 36:15Speaker 6: his son too being able to see this and understand
- 36:18Speaker 6: and for us just you know, it's I it's it's it.
- 36:23Speaker 6: It's it's a good feeling to for Bro to have
- 36:25Speaker 6: his plaques.
- 36:26Speaker 3: You know, Copy to me like the point guard, copy supreme,
- 36:29Speaker 3: the point person. You know what I'm saying. When I
- 36:31Speaker 3: think of all money in he seemed like the point
- 36:33Speaker 3: guard of this situation.
- 36:34Speaker 5: You know, when we try to get this thing done.
- 36:36Speaker 5: The first person that said, you know, shout out to
- 36:38Speaker 5: Dave girls was like you you gotta.
- 36:39Speaker 3: Touch the copy off the bread and talking about you know,
- 36:41Speaker 3: A and B what it stood for, what the plans were, like,
- 36:45Speaker 3: you know, very organized with his thought process, so you
- 36:47Speaker 3: know that that comes from a a high level of maturity.
- 36:50Speaker 5: The fact that you know, we were able to have
- 36:53Speaker 5: access to him, that was incredible.
- 36:55Speaker 9: But his leadership is what's incredible to me.
- 36:58Speaker 5: Like if if Nip is the is the the general,
- 37:00Speaker 5: then I feel like Copy was a lieutenant.
- 37:02Speaker 9: So I want to applaud y'all two for doing what
- 37:04Speaker 9: you're doing. It mean a lot to me, It mean
- 37:07Speaker 9: a lot to the youth, to the kids, everybody that's watching,
- 37:11Speaker 9: and I just want to salute y'all. How y'all y'all
- 37:12Speaker 9: keep going, Man.
- 37:14Speaker 5: I appreciate that bliss no Gucci problems heat money with
- 37:20Speaker 5: Thomas Leavesona.
- 37:25Speaker 4: You don't want these.
- 37:26Speaker 9: Problems do my thing in the kitchen. See that's a
- 37:29Speaker 9: priatex vision.
- 37:30Speaker 3: To where did all money business come from?
- 37:33Speaker 9: So all money businesses is just an extension from all
- 37:36Speaker 9: money in like like how you got cash money and
- 37:40Speaker 9: then y mcmb. So the plan for A and B
- 37:43Speaker 9: was to take A and B and take all the
- 37:48Speaker 9: kids in the neighborhood and do some creativity whatever whatever
- 37:52Speaker 9: it is you want to do. If you do music,
- 37:55Speaker 9: we want to help you push that. If you do art,
- 37:58Speaker 9: we want to help you push that. You make clothes
- 37:59Speaker 9: when it help you push that. So that's that's basically
- 38:02Speaker 9: what AMB was.
- 38:04Speaker 5: So A am B is Is it your brainchild? Or
- 38:07Speaker 5: who who's involved.
- 38:07Speaker 9: In A and B? It's it's it's it's me copy supreme.
- 38:12Speaker 9: This is this is my brand, my business, you know.
- 38:14Speaker 9: And you know I'm a member of All Money in
- 38:16Speaker 9: of course nep right here. You know anything I'm into,
- 38:21Speaker 9: you know, the team is behind me. But this is
- 38:23Speaker 9: solely just me.
- 38:25Speaker 5: Yeah, we we We saw we got a a person
- 38:28Speaker 5: out front that greeted us, Man, I see mom's outside.
- 38:30Speaker 5: Oh yeah, I'm love at the BEA's bumping outside.
- 38:36Speaker 4: So I I the last time.
- 38:38Speaker 9: We came you went here.
- 38:39Speaker 4: I think the so was closed.
- 38:40Speaker 5: It was kind of late in the evening, but I
- 38:41Speaker 5: don't know if you had the spot next door.
- 38:43Speaker 9: No, we didn't, So let's let's talk about that.
- 38:45Speaker 5: Well you got this spot, and he said, let's expand
- 38:47Speaker 5: because now that's not even COVID.
- 38:48Speaker 9: That's that's more in the food space. Yes, it's more
- 38:50Speaker 9: in the food space. So I just thought about, uh,
- 38:54Speaker 9: the different things that we needed around here in the neighborhood,
- 38:57Speaker 9: and uh what was gonna work. And I said, you
- 39:01Speaker 9: know what, we need to, uh build a a restaurant
- 39:03Speaker 9: for our people to where we can you know, and
- 39:06Speaker 9: then we'll have vegan food, uh juices like m you know,
- 39:11Speaker 9: a different type of way to treat our folks. And
- 39:12Speaker 9: you can come here and you can eat good hospitality.
- 39:15Speaker 9: You gonna have that new American soul. You we you know,
- 39:17Speaker 9: we got Mama cooking so so so so so you know,
- 39:20Speaker 9: the food gonna be fire. So y you know, we
- 39:23Speaker 9: we'll we we gonna open up uh boulevard Bobs and
- 39:26Speaker 9: be and more and probably like the next two months,
- 39:30Speaker 9: y'all can come down and y'all can sit and eat
- 39:32Speaker 9: with us.
- 39:32Speaker 3: That's that's unpressib So where where did all money? And like,
- 39:36Speaker 3: who's whose idea was it to come up with all
- 39:38Speaker 3: money in? Cause it's all money and no money out.
- 39:41Speaker 3: That's all money. That's the full, that's the full slogan.
- 39:43Speaker 9: What yes that that is? So you know originally we
- 39:45Speaker 9: the we the slossing boys, cause we coming from Muffle
- 39:48Speaker 9: Crenshaw and Sloughsing and you know Nip just you brainstoring
- 39:52Speaker 9: that wanted to do something different, and you know his
- 39:54Speaker 9: model was like what's that like to be a owner,
- 39:58Speaker 9: to have some ownership and whatever that we was doing.
- 40:01Speaker 9: So it he came up with that slogan all money in,
- 40:03Speaker 9: no money out, and it worked. And everybody from the
- 40:06Speaker 9: team as far as me, Uh, Couzy Capone, bh J Stone,
- 40:12Speaker 9: them see Black Sam, Adam, JP, all of those entities,
- 40:16Speaker 9: everybody is hustlers and they own right. We got a
- 40:19Speaker 9: different type of team, you know. So everybody you know,
- 40:22Speaker 9: like how you see copy like you got nim uh
- 40:26Speaker 9: about two miles down with the clothing store, the restaurant
- 40:29Speaker 9: at the barber shop. You got copy down here with
- 40:31Speaker 9: the clothing store, the restaurant and so on. You know,
- 40:34Speaker 9: so the the model was just different you know, and
- 40:37Speaker 9: everything we do is for the kids to actually see,
- 40:42Speaker 9: take it in and learn from it, cause we all
- 40:43Speaker 9: really come from like a real humble beginning.
- 40:46Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm looking at Monopoly and the way you just
- 40:48Speaker 5: said it, it felt like y'all treated it like the
- 40:50Speaker 5: monopoly board. You got that block, i'm'a take this corner.
- 40:53Speaker 5: You got red, I got green. And then we see this,
- 40:56Speaker 5: this this billion dollar project that bro to see me
- 40:58Speaker 5: the training to talk about the importance of having it
- 41:00Speaker 5: in this location with this new children.
- 41:02Speaker 9: So the train line is actually differ so different for
- 41:06Speaker 9: uh Crenshaw, for for for my whole city. Uh. The
- 41:11Speaker 9: train line runs all the way from I think Lancaster
- 41:15Speaker 9: all the way to the airport. So you it's pretty cool.
- 41:18Speaker 9: It's gonna bring in a lot of business. Uh. And
- 41:21Speaker 9: as you see outside the store, we have new development.
- 41:24Speaker 9: So right now Crenshaw, they're building high rise apartment buildings
- 41:28Speaker 9: and you got guys like me that's smack dead in
- 41:30Speaker 9: the middle of 'em. So w which is cool cause
- 41:33Speaker 9: I'll be able to You can come here and you
- 41:34Speaker 9: can get your clothes, you can come here, you can
- 41:35Speaker 9: get your food, and we right here. But uh, destination
- 41:39Speaker 9: Crenshaw is something that Nip started and you got guys
- 41:42Speaker 9: like Marquise the mayor uh pick up on it, and
- 41:46Speaker 9: everybody got together and and and this is what you see.
- 41:49Speaker 9: You gonna see murals up and down Crenshaw of the
- 41:52Speaker 9: Crenshaw destination. You gonna see Nip. You know, it's just
- 41:55Speaker 9: it's us. It's the new city. It's the new La.
- 41:57Speaker 3: To how talk about that? Cause, like, coming from New York,
- 42:00Speaker 3: when we saw La when we was growing up, it
- 42:04Speaker 3: was Boys in the Hood, right, and all of those
- 42:07Speaker 3: type of movies, right, and then the music of course
- 42:09Speaker 3: Snoop and all of that. So we had an image
- 42:12Speaker 3: of what LA was. But I have a feeling that
- 42:16Speaker 3: it's different now than that image that we had in
- 42:19Speaker 3: the nineties. So growing up in La, how has the neighborhood,
- 42:22Speaker 3: how has the city changed from the nineties to where
- 42:25Speaker 3: we are now twenty twenty three.
- 42:26Speaker 9: Well, it changed. The fashion is totally different, you know,
- 42:30Speaker 9: you know, the kids, the kids dressing a little different.
- 42:33Speaker 9: It's it's it's no khakis and Jerry curls. Like the
- 42:36Speaker 9: movie music. You know that it was like that once
- 42:39Speaker 9: upon a time, you know, but now the kids they
- 42:41Speaker 9: you know, it's it's the youth, and we gotta take
- 42:44Speaker 9: you to them. Like the new youth. I take a
- 42:45Speaker 9: pair of khaki pants, hem them up and put like
- 42:50Speaker 9: my guy desk, though they gonna put an awful lot
- 42:52Speaker 9: of compsworp on they pants or dress they pants up
- 42:55Speaker 9: a different type of way. But you know, we gotta,
- 42:57Speaker 9: you know, everybody need to adapt to the new things,
- 42:59Speaker 9: just because that's what it is. When you got the
- 43:02Speaker 9: younger kids, you gotta let them shine. Mm you know
- 43:04Speaker 9: what I'm saying, cause I remember being a ah a,
- 43:07Speaker 9: a young guy amongst the older older guys, and they
- 43:10Speaker 9: didn't understand when we had our parents taper. You know
- 43:13Speaker 9: what I'm saying, Cause I w cause I came into
- 43:16Speaker 9: the Khaki said, well we was taking our kagis and
- 43:18Speaker 9: go and take 'em to the swap meet and get
- 43:19Speaker 9: 'em taper and kind of whar I'm like, like a
- 43:22Speaker 9: little different, you know. But yeah, times changed, you know
- 43:25Speaker 9: what I'm saying. So you know, we just evolved with
- 43:27Speaker 9: the times, you know what I mean.
- 43:28Speaker 4: So the the marathon continues obviously through young through us.
- 43:31Speaker 8: We you know, we had that conversation earlier, were talking
- 43:34Speaker 8: about that time in between the tragedy to get you
- 43:37Speaker 8: on your feet and say, nah, there's a dream I
- 43:39Speaker 8: have for myself to to expend it t W the vision.
- 43:43Speaker 4: What was that process like during that time for you?
- 43:45Speaker 9: That was a big process. It was a hard process,
- 43:47Speaker 9: a long process. And you know the world felt that. Yeah,
- 43:51Speaker 9: you know, even though this was my brother and my
- 43:54Speaker 9: my twin and I had my own feelings about it,
- 43:57Speaker 9: I had to like take my feelings almost out of
- 44:00Speaker 9: it and take a step back and look at what
- 44:02Speaker 9: the world went through, and and and and it was
- 44:05Speaker 9: crazy because I still would be having conversations with him
- 44:08Speaker 9: as he going like y cause I just know him.
- 44:11Speaker 9: He'll he'll be like, yeah, ain't nobody did it like
- 44:13Speaker 9: this Trump? That's that's how never. So he'll he'll be
- 44:16Speaker 9: like on neighborhood, look how many people on Crunch on
- 44:18Speaker 9: Slaughster liqu what I did? You know what I'm saying,
- 44:21Speaker 9: he'd he'd have been proud for these moments right here.
- 44:25Speaker 9: You know. So it did it mean a lot.
- 44:27Speaker 3: So talk about the other brands, cause everybody has their
- 44:30Speaker 3: own brand and all money in right right, So I
- 44:32Speaker 3: see play playball, that's talk man, talk about that, like
- 44:36Speaker 3: talk about the different the different brands for the different
- 44:38Speaker 3: people that's involved.
- 44:39Speaker 9: So you got you got h amb of course, which
- 44:42Speaker 9: is me. You got uh PBC playball clothing which is
- 44:45Speaker 9: uh pac man, you got twenty five eight which is Jaystone,
- 44:49Speaker 9: You got BBH which is which is my brother China
- 44:52Speaker 9: right there sitting in the back, and a few other
- 44:54Speaker 9: brands that come through as far as my uh uh
- 44:57Speaker 9: uh no load uh with health. You know, just different
- 45:01Speaker 9: type of shit, man, But every everything is it's it's good.
- 45:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 45:06Speaker 8: I when out hear y'all talk, man it there's a
- 45:08Speaker 8: center level of loyalty, but there's a serial level of
- 45:12Speaker 8: ego that has been a race. What did that get
- 45:16Speaker 8: developed as from childhood to manhood? Is that something that
- 45:19Speaker 8: you know you learn right cause when y'all talk, like
- 45:21Speaker 8: when we talk about support, like you can feel it.
- 45:23Speaker 8: I'm looking at the store. Obviously it's A and B,
- 45:25Speaker 8: but you can see everybody's imprison inside of it. And
- 45:27Speaker 8: I would imagine when we go to there, it's it's
- 45:29Speaker 8: pretty much the.
- 45:29Speaker 5: Same thing that where did that level of of selflessness
- 45:32Speaker 5: come from?
- 45:32Speaker 9: Amongst y'all? The goal was just for that because you know,
- 45:37Speaker 9: the LA culture is kind of like uh, segregated from
- 45:42Speaker 9: gangs MM. So you you know, you got guys that
- 45:45Speaker 9: like like me that come from crunch on slosson, and
- 45:48Speaker 9: then you'll have guys that come from another area that
- 45:50Speaker 9: won't necessarily come on this side MM to purchase, to
- 45:54Speaker 9: buy anything. So that's why we use platforms like this
- 45:59Speaker 9: to let everybody know. Everybody is welcome everybody. It don't
- 46:03Speaker 9: matter where you're from, who you are. So we're trying
- 46:05Speaker 9: to bridge the gap from from from the gang violence,
- 46:09Speaker 9: the gang culture and and let everybody see that we
- 46:13Speaker 9: actually we can bridge it. Everybody can come together. That's
- 46:15Speaker 9: why you've seen guys like n C and y G
- 46:19Speaker 9: together and that and that actually works. You know, they
- 46:23Speaker 9: stop a lot of things, you know, and it just
- 46:25Speaker 9: creates a different narrative.
- 46:27Speaker 4: Business has no boundaries.
- 46:28Speaker 9: Brother Dave, how you doing there? Oh for sure, that's
- 46:39Speaker 9: that's a that's a good thing.
- 46:41Speaker 4: It's good.
- 46:42Speaker 9: Should have even told.
- 46:44Speaker 3: To switch on cars. It's good that I'm good man.
- 46:48Speaker 3: You got a couple of words for the camera.
- 46:54Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's beautiful. So all art comes from fans.
- 47:02Speaker 9: It's fan based art, and we uh, you know, we
- 47:07Speaker 9: give him a plateau, We give you, a platform for
- 47:09Speaker 9: you for your art. So a few of these people
- 47:11Speaker 9: came from like fans that was deep, deeply rooted inside
- 47:15Speaker 9: NIP music and what he had going on and what
- 47:17Speaker 9: he was doing.
- 47:19Speaker 3: You know, Dave Groce, we got to introduce him. So
- 47:24Speaker 3: he's actually the person that put this together. Dave. I
- 47:27Speaker 3: think we met like two years ago online, right, something like.
- 47:30Speaker 9: That, A little bit longer.
- 47:31Speaker 13: So you actually pulled up, you put up at vector
- 47:34Speaker 13: in like twenty twenty.
- 47:35Speaker 3: We had a radio had a relationship at that point though.
- 47:37Speaker 3: But so obviously if you watched ey l you probably
- 47:41Speaker 3: seen them more ask civil liabilities. In fact, real estate
- 47:44Speaker 3: developer used to work on Wall Street, neighborhood kid that
- 47:47Speaker 3: moved to New York for twenty years and we debate
- 47:51Speaker 3: about hip hop. We had a very passionate we had
- 47:54Speaker 3: a very passionate debate about hip hop. But good dude.
- 48:01Speaker 3: So when we was putting this together, I reached out
- 48:04Speaker 3: to him and uh, he he was a man of
- 48:08Speaker 3: his word, connected us with Cob and now, yeah, so
- 48:11Speaker 3: wanted to thank you for that. Brother, Nah, for sure,
- 48:13Speaker 3: thank you guys for pulling up.
- 48:15Speaker 13: It's my my brother with doubt and definitely a neighborhood
- 48:19Speaker 13: legends had some.
- 48:21Speaker 3: Form of business right here for the past.
- 48:23Speaker 9: How long, uh two three years?
- 48:25Speaker 3: But before that he had the weed shot here.
- 48:26Speaker 9: Oh yeah, well before that, I I I actually occupied
- 48:29Speaker 9: this this building here and had a uh a dispensary
- 48:33Speaker 9: in two thousand and ten. It was like it was
- 48:35Speaker 9: actually like one of the first dis first dispensaries that
- 48:38Speaker 9: ever touched uh Crenshaw or La and it it did
- 48:43Speaker 9: well like like very well, I know that's you know
- 48:48Speaker 9: y you know so uh it you know, we was
- 48:50Speaker 9: the first one, so so w when we did it,
- 48:53Speaker 9: we didn't know what we had. We were just trying
- 48:55Speaker 9: to do something and one of my partners and it
- 48:57Speaker 9: ended up being uh if I can say probably like
- 49:01Speaker 9: two million in a year, Hmn't that's convince Yeah, so
- 49:04Speaker 9: I see why. I it like it's like it is
- 49:07Speaker 9: now so many people got into that, uh into that game.
- 49:10Speaker 3: Everybody's in the in the weed business now.
- 49:12Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 49:12Speaker 4: Every every every block there's at least one dispensary.
- 49:15Speaker 9: Yeah yeah, well well out here, yes, every block. You know,
- 49:19Speaker 9: we st we started a trend.
- 49:22Speaker 8: Yeah, and I and I feel like maybe this becomes
- 49:24Speaker 8: a new trend, right y. Yeah, So you're putting business
- 49:27Speaker 8: inside of the community. You didn't have to leave the community,
- 49:29Speaker 8: which a lot of times you don't see.
- 49:30Speaker 4: So that the value inside of that.
- 49:32Speaker 9: Yeah, so uh that has a lot to do with
- 49:35Speaker 9: uh just the way we came up, uh mentioning Dave
- 49:40Speaker 9: Victor ninety is a is a big part of that.
- 49:42Speaker 9: The plan was to come to your own city and
- 49:46Speaker 9: buy your buy your own and and uh try to
- 49:49Speaker 9: find other guys that's like myself or like Nip or
- 49:52Speaker 9: like you guys are Dave and other cities and get
- 49:55Speaker 9: them to also purchase property inside of they neighborhood as well.
- 50:00Speaker 3: So what's the plan going forward for amb for you, like,
- 50:04Speaker 3: what's your what's your five year what's your ten year plan?
- 50:06Speaker 9: So so my five year plan is to be in
- 50:08Speaker 9: the big office helping out every kid that we can
- 50:11Speaker 9: find that's interested in business and financial literacy and and
- 50:16Speaker 9: and owning and music of course, because you know music
- 50:19Speaker 9: is our first love. So you know, all the guys
- 50:22Speaker 9: that get jerked around with deals inside of the music
- 50:24Speaker 9: industry come to amb away.
- 50:31Speaker 3: How was it to be? Cause it's like, you know,
- 50:33Speaker 3: it's so crazy, you never really know that, Like how
- 50:36Speaker 3: one Lyric can impact something, and like when Nip, like
- 50:39Speaker 3: when he was like I know Jaystone and copy Supreme
- 50:42Speaker 3: Court relate, Like he's just saying that because you was
- 50:44Speaker 3: his own boy. But millions of people know your name now,
- 50:48Speaker 3: like you know what I'm saying because of that lyric,
- 50:49Speaker 3: including me. So but I used to always do like
- 50:52Speaker 3: even when Nas, I remember Nas, you talked about his
- 50:55Speaker 3: brother Jungle, and then I'm like researching, like who's Jungle?
- 50:57Speaker 3: Or like Jay talking about Emory and who's Emory? Like
- 51:00Speaker 3: that happens a lot in hip hop culture, right, Like
- 51:02Speaker 3: talk about the significance of of Nip as far as
- 51:06Speaker 3: cause he said a lot of different people's names and
- 51:08Speaker 3: different saw him. All of those people have become like
- 51:11Speaker 3: cultural icons on their own. So talk about that.
- 51:15Speaker 9: So first I, you know, I I it's the relationship
- 51:17Speaker 9: first before the music and a and the fame or whatever. Uh.
- 51:23Speaker 9: He just knew we understood we we was we We
- 51:26Speaker 9: all was as is wanting the same pop you know, uh,
- 51:30Speaker 9: same vision, Uh basically just the same type of things.
- 51:35Speaker 9: Like what he thought, I thought, like Jo, like you
- 51:38Speaker 9: and you and your brother right here, like Nip, Nip
- 51:40Speaker 9: can be thinking something and I might say it, or
- 51:43Speaker 9: or he'll be a are are I'll be thinking something
- 51:45Speaker 9: and he might say it, you know, so just wanting
- 51:49Speaker 9: the same.
- 51:50Speaker 5: So I wonder, now, as as you're doing this, you
- 51:52Speaker 5: going through this process and you're building business, you building
- 51:55Speaker 5: it in the community, then the goal is to reach
- 51:57Speaker 5: as many kids as possible. What about the young men
- 52:00Speaker 5: and women that are here right now? How receptive are
- 52:02Speaker 5: they to what's actually happened. I know, obviously it was
- 52:04Speaker 5: such a big loss, but obviously y'all can have character
- 52:07Speaker 5: the flag and doing a nice job with it. How
- 52:08Speaker 5: receptive are they to what's happening?
- 52:11Speaker 9: Uh, everybody is is coming back around. But what NIP
- 52:13Speaker 9: did do was put in men, women, uh, teenage kids
- 52:20Speaker 9: and older people was to actually own your own and
- 52:24Speaker 9: an and go get a business and an and push.
- 52:26Speaker 9: I've never seen this many boutiques or this many uh
- 52:32Speaker 9: Art galleries or different type of businesses by us until
- 52:38Speaker 9: NIP starts speaking about it. And once it it's it
- 52:40Speaker 9: just it changed the mind of the youth, and it
- 52:43Speaker 9: changed the mind of of of of people our age
- 52:45Speaker 9: and made people actually wanna get up and do something. Yea,
- 52:50Speaker 9: you know, and I I believe in that y you
- 52:52Speaker 9: know it's it's actually a good thing. Now. Now all
- 52:55Speaker 9: we gotta do is we all need to just shop
- 52:58Speaker 9: with each other. Yeah, to keep everything as a float.
- 53:02Speaker 8: And that's one of my my favorite lines is that
- 53:05Speaker 8: you know, there there's a few dudes every generation that
- 53:07Speaker 8: wasn't supposed to make it out with the cold, the matrix,
- 53:09Speaker 8: and when they get to speak, it's like a stolen language.
- 53:12Speaker 8: I feel like that's the only we're understanding it.
- 53:14Speaker 5: So that's like when we say financial revolution, Yeah, it
- 53:17Speaker 5: is that because it was the language that's being deciphered
- 53:19Speaker 5: to people in a way that's super understandable.
- 53:21Speaker 9: But now they can go out and execute on it.
- 53:23Speaker 4: That's why I'm glad to hear that that's happening here.
- 53:25Speaker 3: So I know we're gonna do a tour, but before
- 53:28Speaker 3: we head to some different places, I wanna I want
- 53:30Speaker 3: you to just to kind of put it, cause a
- 53:31Speaker 3: lot of people come to LA from out of town,
- 53:34Speaker 3: and you say, even people from LA, tell them why
- 53:37Speaker 3: it's important to patronize and shop in the neighborhood, in
- 53:41Speaker 3: your store with other black owned businesses in Crenshaw, as
- 53:44Speaker 3: opposed to just always going to the Beverly Center. And
- 53:47Speaker 3: mail rolls and noting nothing wrong with that, but like
- 53:50Speaker 3: explain the importance of this, cause, in my opinion, this
- 53:57Speaker 3: should be like one hundred and twenty fifth Street to
- 53:59Speaker 3: haulm right where it's like a million people every single
- 54:03Speaker 3: day there's people walking up and down the street. So yeah,
- 54:06Speaker 3: talk about that a little bit for and it's about
- 54:08Speaker 3: to be like that.
- 54:08Speaker 4: Yeah, demographics gonna be different.
- 54:10Speaker 9: Yeah, it's about to be like that. But the demographics
- 54:12Speaker 9: and yeah, the importance of uh uh that is like
- 54:14Speaker 9: if if if I have a store and all my
- 54:17Speaker 9: people is coming to shop with me and making me grow,
- 54:20Speaker 9: that mean that the people that that's working in the store,
- 54:23Speaker 9: they're also growing. We we we If I got ten
- 54:26Speaker 9: people working here right now and the store is doing
- 54:29Speaker 9: well because I got the whole city back of me,
- 54:32Speaker 9: the ten people that work here, you actually feeding ten
- 54:35Speaker 9: households and probably twenty children. So it mean a lot
- 54:38Speaker 9: to get your people to come shop with you, you know,
- 54:42Speaker 9: and uh, just that alone, it it saved lives, you
- 54:47Speaker 9: know what I'm saying. And to help out uh a ton.
- 54:50Speaker 3: Yeah, And I think it's a misconception that's about, I say,
- 54:52Speaker 3: out of town as people think of la and of
- 54:55Speaker 3: course there's always gonna be crime. There's always issues in
- 54:57Speaker 3: every city. But I think a lot of people have
- 54:59Speaker 3: a very misconceived notion about what they do.
- 55:04Speaker 9: They can't even come they do see let me do
- 55:06Speaker 9: you one thing about la Is you gonna find earners?
- 55:11Speaker 9: What's up?
- 55:11Speaker 5: You ever walk into a small business and everything just
- 55:14Speaker 5: works like the checkout is fast, the receipts are digital,

- 57:01Speaker 1: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 57:04Speaker 1: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from Al Salvador
- 57:08Speaker 1: accused of murdering a Texas. Man of Venezuelan charged with
- 57:12Speaker 1: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 57:16Speaker 1: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 57:20Speaker 1: Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christy Noman, the United States
- 57:24Speaker 1: Secretary of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted illegal border
- 57:29Speaker 1: crossings are at the lowest levels ever recorded, and over
- 57:32Speaker 1: one hundred thousand illegal aliens have been arrested. If you
- 57:36Speaker 1: are here illegally, your next you will be fined nearly
- 57:40Speaker 1: one thousand dollars a day, imprisoned, and deported. You will
- 57:44Speaker 1: never return. But if you register using our CBP home
- 57:47Speaker 1: app and leave now, you could be allowed to return legally.
- 57:51Speaker 1: Do what's right. Leave now. Under President Trump, America's laws,
- 57:56Speaker 1: border and families will be protected.
- 57:58Speaker 2: Sponsored by the United States working the Home Security.
- 58:01Speaker 9: Some of your best people down here in the hood.
- 58:05Speaker 9: You it's some of the friendliest people, some of the
- 58:07Speaker 9: nicest people, the best food, uh great attitudes to where
- 58:12Speaker 9: you'll go uh uh north of uh Crenshaw and get
- 58:17Speaker 9: cussed out in Hollywood or Sunset. You know what I'm saying.
- 58:21Speaker 9: You might find a A A A A A A
- 58:23Speaker 9: butthole towards that way, but find some of the best
- 58:26Speaker 9: people down here in the hood. It's you know, some
- 58:30Speaker 9: of the stories are true. I can't fabricate that, you know. Uh,
- 58:33Speaker 9: it's it's still a lot of gang violence and and
- 58:36Speaker 9: and things that that goes on around that area. But
- 58:39Speaker 9: then you got good people like myself as as you know,
- 58:42Speaker 9: I think I'm a great person. Uh, you can come
- 58:45Speaker 9: down here. You can shop with me, no matter uh
- 58:48Speaker 9: your ethnicity, no matter where you're from, no, no matter
- 58:51Speaker 9: what you can you can come in here and don't
- 58:53Speaker 9: have no money and actually probably leave up with something.
- 58:55Speaker 3: Yeah, don't say that too loud.
- 58:59Speaker 4: What's the location?
- 58:59Speaker 9: What's the location is forty seven O five Crenshaw Boulevard.
- 59:04Speaker 9: Everybody is welcome.
- 59:05Speaker 8: Anybody ad We gonna have it on for sure without that,
- 59:09Speaker 8: I mean, we gonna wear it with honor.
- 59:11Speaker 9: Man.
- 59:11Speaker 4: Like I said, this is a full sucking woman.
- 59:12Speaker 5: For us to be here with you, to be here
- 59:15Speaker 5: to see what's happening that this is, this is amazing.
- 59:17Speaker 5: So we were gonna make sure that we support and
- 59:19Speaker 5: do everything we can to push the brand.
- 59:21Speaker 10: Right.
- 59:21Speaker 9: Yeah, so I wanna shed some light. I got my
- 59:24Speaker 9: cousin loyal right here. Don't move too fast. I got
- 59:26Speaker 9: my love, I got my little cousin loyal right here.
- 59:29Speaker 9: So when I was coming out with the build out.
- 59:31Speaker 9: He was one of the guys that got on the
- 59:33Speaker 9: boy what's that app called that you used to? So
- 59:36Speaker 9: we went on sketch up Pro and we actually built
- 59:38Speaker 9: this whole place out from here to the restaurant O
- 59:42Speaker 9: off nothing. This whole building. Actually, when I came back
- 59:45Speaker 9: and got it, it was burnt completely down. It was
- 59:48Speaker 9: a yeah, it was a fire here. It was burnt
- 59:50Speaker 9: completely down. And and and when I seen the place
- 59:52Speaker 9: going back up for to get we came back down
- 59:55Speaker 9: here and got it. And this is what we did.
- 59:56Speaker 3: So we got the shoes in the ceiling. Yeah.
- 59:59Speaker 9: Right now, that right there is some real la shit.
- 1:00:03Speaker 9: You know what I'm saying.
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: Before we leave, what's this shirt Chris Shaw Slatson over
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: Hills or.
- 1:00:08Speaker 9: Shirt that's done by my I shed some light on
- 1:00:11Speaker 9: my brother China right here black Beverly Hills. So this
- 1:00:16Speaker 9: is one of my business partners right here that put
- 1:00:18Speaker 9: the this together. Matter of fact, he's the one who's
- 1:00:22Speaker 9: going who's running the whole am B store. You know
- 1:00:24Speaker 9: what I'm saying. I know everybody like I say, the team,
- 1:00:27Speaker 9: the team is different. You might see me and think,
- 1:00:31Speaker 9: all right, copy is the one down here doing everything. Now,
- 1:00:33Speaker 9: I got good people like Loyal, I got good people
- 1:00:36Speaker 9: like China. That's that's behind me, and I'm behind them
- 1:00:39Speaker 9: as well, and we and we push and we make
- 1:00:41Speaker 9: these type of things happen.
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: So what's what's black Beverly Hills? What's that means?
- 1:00:44Speaker 9: So Black Beverly Hills, it's this area over here.
- 1:00:47Speaker 14: It's the wealthiest predominant black area in the whole world,
- 1:00:50Speaker 14: and it's been like that since the sixties. So the
- 1:00:52Speaker 14: brand is a representation of the area and it's about
- 1:00:56Speaker 14: uh gentrification and anti gentrification for us to hold on
- 1:01:00Speaker 14: to our homes. So within the brand that I've been
- 1:01:03Speaker 14: doing for ten years, we've been promoting the area. We've
- 1:01:06Speaker 14: been promoting uh black wealth and letting the.
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: Road know about it.
- 1:01:10Speaker 14: So we've had a billboard on Slatting and over Hill,
- 1:01:12Speaker 14: which is one of the streets on the shirt, and
- 1:01:16Speaker 14: it's taken off like it's been in the movie you
- 1:01:18Speaker 14: people je Egos videos and.
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: The bill boy the billboard. It's so crazy that you
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: said that, because we interviewed our people at Hilltop Coffee
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: and they was, I think they're building a coffee shop
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: around here, but.
- 1:01:32Speaker 15: They're forever on the billboard.
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: Yeah, but they told me about that stat as far
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: as being, you know, a pretty wealthy neighborhood for black
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: and now something I didn't know. I wasn't aware of that.
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: So that's interesting to know that.
- 1:02:05Speaker 14: So before like black people or any person of color
- 1:02:08Speaker 14: was over here, there are racial restrictive covenants. So on
- 1:02:11Speaker 14: your titles it basically said do not sell to any
- 1:02:15Speaker 14: black person. Some people still have those things. So once
- 1:02:19Speaker 14: the Brown versus Board everything went through. With that, black
- 1:02:22Speaker 14: people started moving over here, White people moved out. This
- 1:02:25Speaker 14: area turned into ninety percent black, and it stayed like
- 1:02:29Speaker 14: that for very long time. Now, with the train and
- 1:02:32Speaker 14: everything coming in, a lot of people are trying to
- 1:02:34Speaker 14: move back in and.
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: Change the area.
- 1:02:37Speaker 14: So our thing is about holding it down, making sure
- 1:02:41Speaker 14: that people know that this is our area, because there's
- 1:02:44Speaker 14: no area in America called black anything, you know, so
- 1:02:47Speaker 14: black Beverly Hills is a nickname for it, but you know.
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: That stands for wealth.
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: How's the process been, you said, people are trying to
- 1:02:54Speaker 4: come back. Obviously, sometimes when you try to come back.
- 1:02:56Speaker 5: You get priced out right, But there's you know, we
- 1:02:59Speaker 5: could play a role in that making sure that we.
- 1:03:01Speaker 4: Never sell if we have it. But what's what's that
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: process been like as far as real estate? Here, people
- 1:03:05Speaker 4: trying to come back to the neighborhood.
- 1:03:06Speaker 9: They coming, they coming in and that's and that's what
- 1:03:09Speaker 9: we use guys like Day for and these platforms to
- 1:03:14Speaker 9: get all of us to buy. We need to hold
- 1:03:18Speaker 9: on by and keep what we got, you know what
- 1:03:21Speaker 9: I'm saying for a ton of reasons. But but yeah,
- 1:03:24Speaker 9: that's it. Now.
- 1:03:26Speaker 13: There are a lot of a lot of successful professionals,
- 1:03:29Speaker 13: media personalities, entertainers and athletes, view Park and Windsor Hills,
- 1:03:33Speaker 13: the Dons, but there has always been but there has always.
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: Been kind of like black Bear.
- 1:03:38Speaker 4: Yeah, but you Park, windsor Hills always.
- 1:03:41Speaker 13: Kind of hidden the gym and the Dons are going.
- 1:03:43Speaker 9: Crazy, and this is view Park. That's what this area
- 1:03:48Speaker 9: is that we're in.
- 1:03:48Speaker 14: It kind of started off as view Park and then
- 1:03:51Speaker 14: it branched out because Ray Charles built one of his first.
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: Homes over here.
- 1:03:56Speaker 14: So if you ever watched the movie Ray, that's his
- 1:03:58Speaker 14: actual home.
- 1:03:59Speaker 10: Within that and he's from Atlanta.
- 1:04:01Speaker 14: So we got a mixture of people from all over
- 1:04:05Speaker 14: America that have moved over here to build their homes and.
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: That have wealth. So that's it's about holding on to it.
- 1:04:11Speaker 13: I know, you guys get those houses in the hills
- 1:04:13Speaker 13: when you come and if you get being in bel air,
- 1:04:17Speaker 13: so you go up in the dons, it's a neighbor
- 1:04:19Speaker 13: right back here, you get that same you and the
- 1:04:21Speaker 13: city's opposite side, you get like a two seventy.
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: Yeah, because all the streets are.
- 1:04:28Speaker 4: And that's not that's what that's the same area talking about.
- 1:04:32Speaker 9: All right. A lot of people don't know Crenshaw, the
- 1:04:37Speaker 9: man Crenshaw was actually a slave owner, Okay, And that's
- 1:04:42Speaker 9: what I can say about our culture. We big on
- 1:04:44Speaker 9: changing the narrative on anything, like like a word that's
- 1:04:50Speaker 9: been bothering us for years, the n word. We changed
- 1:04:53Speaker 9: that and took it and used it for our own self,
- 1:04:57Speaker 9: just like Crenshaw. We changed the narrative and now we Crenshaw.
- 1:05:01Speaker 4: You got a kid in New York where see a
- 1:05:02Speaker 4: lot of.
- 1:05:02Speaker 9: People, a lot of people didn't didn't know that the
- 1:05:05Speaker 9: man Crenshaw was was actually like a slave owner, you
- 1:05:08Speaker 9: know what I'm saying. And we took that, we embodied that,
- 1:05:11Speaker 9: took it and took it back.
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: How does it feel like you said? People not just
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: in America, all over the world. Crenshaw, that's become synonymous
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: with just hip hop culture. How does that feel being
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: from Crenshaw? Like you, I mean, somebody in Japan wear
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: the your shirt, Like, how does that feel Japan.
- 1:05:29Speaker 9: To love our culture? It's a copy supreme in j.
- 1:05:38Speaker 6: It's a.
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: How'd you get the name? Cobby Supreme?
- 1:05:43Speaker 9: So all right, so out of the neighborhood. You know,
- 1:05:47Speaker 9: my neighborhood is is crips, right, the blue guys, you know. Yeah, So,
- 1:05:54Speaker 9: so originally coming up, they called me g Bob. I
- 1:05:59Speaker 9: don't never tell nobody this story. Oh my god, I
- 1:06:01Speaker 9: can't believe that I'm doing it. But they but they
- 1:06:03Speaker 9: called me g Bob as a kid coming up, and
- 1:06:07Speaker 9: and and since we're crips, they would take the the
- 1:06:11Speaker 9: B and turn it into a C. So it turns
- 1:06:13Speaker 9: into G Cob and from G Cob to copy. And
- 1:06:17Speaker 9: you know, I took the little supreme because I felt
- 1:06:19Speaker 9: like I always been a supreme being, you know, and
- 1:06:22Speaker 9: just put a spin on. As far as the rap music, yeah,
- 1:06:25Speaker 9: there you have it. I can't believe.
- 1:06:32Speaker 5: Origin story origins.
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: That's dope, man. Now, this is vibs man. Like I said,
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: I actually learned something. Every time I come to l A,
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: I learn more and more about the culture. A lot
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: of the stuff that you just said I didn't I
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: wasn't aware of it. So that's that's dope to know.
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: Like I always like to know, Like, you know, you
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: want to enjoy places, but you want to know the
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: history of places as well. You don't want to just
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: come and just you know, just go to st K
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: all the time and catch you the vibes, like you
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: actually want to know, like where did it start, what's
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: the origin? With different people, different things like that. I
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: think you have a better appreciation when you actually have
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: some information as opposed to just being tourist.
- 1:07:08Speaker 5: Yeah, And I think what y'all doing is I mean,
- 1:07:11Speaker 5: it's imperative, right, y'all changing the narrative of what we thought.
- 1:07:13Speaker 5: It's crazy cause we were talking about Boys in the
- 1:07:15Speaker 5: Hood and then Boys and Hood was on like a
- 1:07:18Speaker 5: week before we came here, and I remember at the
- 1:07:20Speaker 5: end Cube had a crnchhaw T shirt on, right, and
- 1:07:23Speaker 5: I was like, Okay, and the image in thirty years
- 1:07:26Speaker 5: after y'all changing, what y'all gonna do with it? Man,
- 1:07:28Speaker 5: It's it's it's incredible, man, so congratulate y'all for doing this.
- 1:07:32Speaker 4: Cla Fresh and Martha stage.
- 1:07:34Speaker 6: On my way to be as I am being w
- 1:07:36Speaker 6: la trying to eat.
- 1:07:37Speaker 9: We away A cold part about me and Nimsey. We
- 1:07:39Speaker 9: went to New York and stayed in the Time Hotel
- 1:07:43Speaker 9: for forty seven days. And the cold part about it
- 1:07:46Speaker 9: is we went in December. Listen to me, I've never
- 1:07:51Speaker 9: been that cold in my life. New York I feel
- 1:07:54Speaker 9: like to me. And they say it's places that's way colder,
- 1:07:56Speaker 9: But I've never felt no cold like New York. You
- 1:08:00Speaker 9: gotta think. Me and Nip jumped off the airplane and
- 1:08:03Speaker 9: khaki shorts and flip flops and jumped off like and
- 1:08:08Speaker 9: went straight to a place called Atrium. And we went
- 1:08:11Speaker 9: straight to Atrium, and we both spent about fifteen hundred,
- 1:08:15Speaker 9: two thousand dollars and got puffy coats, gloves, rags, Beanie America.
- 1:08:22Speaker 4: I couldn't believe how co New York attire.
- 1:08:24Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, we had to hurry up and put it on.
- 1:08:27Speaker 9: But New York actually was good to me and Nip.
- 1:08:30Speaker 9: We met a lot of good people out there. We
- 1:08:33Speaker 9: mexed up with a lot of people. Shout out to
- 1:08:35Speaker 9: Johnny ship's you know, cinematic music, Shikes, Bubbs, a lot
- 1:08:40Speaker 9: of good people, Jim Jones, the whole Dip set, you
- 1:08:44Speaker 9: know what I mean. Santana for sure. You know, everybody
- 1:08:48Speaker 9: out there was smooth man.
- 1:08:50Speaker 3: But I remember Nip was saying that he was out
- 1:08:52Speaker 3: there for a while and did a lot of like
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: promo and all that that was he did that on purpose,
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: so he just wanted to get away from LA for
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: a little bit.
- 1:08:57Speaker 9: Of so you see, see what people don't know about Nip.
- 1:09:00Speaker 9: Nip was really hip hop. See see it's my brother.
- 1:09:04Speaker 9: And I noticed, like Nip knew Nip was like one
- 1:09:07Speaker 9: of the guys that that you know how you got
- 1:09:10Speaker 9: the backpack rappers and things like that, Nip was one
- 1:09:12Speaker 9: of them guys that that that had that as well.
- 1:09:17Speaker 9: And again yeah he did not and I and I
- 1:09:19Speaker 9: remember coming up, I asked him and this was ding
- 1:09:23Speaker 9: like schloss and boy Volume one. I was like, uh
- 1:09:27Speaker 9: because he had dropped the mixtape and it was like
- 1:09:30Speaker 9: he was talking about the hood and and the gang
- 1:09:33Speaker 9: culture real heavy, like I want to be from r
- 1:09:35Speaker 9: n C to the day that I died, like like
- 1:09:37Speaker 9: songs like that, and I and I asked you like, like, Bro,
- 1:09:40Speaker 9: you you think it's gonna be it's we gonna be
- 1:09:42Speaker 9: able to sell uh putting out that expensive type of
- 1:09:46Speaker 9: gang culture music like that. And and his reply was
- 1:09:50Speaker 9: because I knew he knew how to do wrap the
- 1:09:52Speaker 9: other type of way as well. But his reply was,
- 1:09:56Speaker 9: I gotta give it to him braw like this because
- 1:09:59Speaker 9: people don't understand that way. Yeah, like people like put
- 1:10:05Speaker 9: it like this and Scarface movie, we root it for
- 1:10:09Speaker 9: Scarface yea, even though Scarface passed. So that's what Nip
- 1:10:15Speaker 9: kind of meant like it in the music was he
- 1:10:17Speaker 9: had to put it out there like that and grab
- 1:10:19Speaker 9: their attention and then go all the way back and
- 1:10:24Speaker 9: revert and start over to give it to you what
- 1:10:27Speaker 9: you what you needed to hear. So that's why and
- 1:10:30Speaker 9: and and Nip's last UH CDs that he put out.
- 1:10:36Speaker 9: You can hear a l you can hear the evolution.
- 1:10:39Speaker 9: You can hear a lot of uh, don't give up,
- 1:10:43Speaker 9: don't quit, keep going, a lot of Marathon, a lot
- 1:10:46Speaker 9: of TMC, a lot of financial literacy, a lot of
- 1:10:49Speaker 9: Vector ninety, a lot of A and B, a lot
- 1:10:51Speaker 9: of just bring everything together and make it.
- 1:10:54Speaker 4: Solid and name it to victory lab without a doubt all.
- 1:10:58Speaker 9: That, Yeah, without a doubt. He averted back to go
- 1:11:01Speaker 9: get the people. Yeah, you know what I'm saying. But
- 1:11:03Speaker 9: when you come it it'd be hard for a lot
- 1:11:05Speaker 9: of artists to come out, when you from a certain
- 1:11:07Speaker 9: area or certain demographics around here, and come out and
- 1:11:11Speaker 9: and talk and rap about God. Like right now, Kypy
- 1:11:15Speaker 9: Supreme wanted to do a album and it was a
- 1:11:17Speaker 9: gospel album. I probably have one listener, but let me
- 1:11:21Speaker 9: put out an album talking about I wanna kill this
- 1:11:24Speaker 9: nigga and f this b and do all that. It's
- 1:11:28Speaker 9: it's through the roof. He understood that. Yah, So he
- 1:11:31Speaker 9: was like, all right, we gonna give it to him
- 1:11:33Speaker 9: raw and once we once I got their attention, cop,
- 1:11:36Speaker 9: I gotta get him and I gotta tell him the
- 1:11:38Speaker 9: full truth.
- 1:11:38Speaker 4: Yeah, w what was that?
- 1:11:39Speaker 5: Like? I know he talks about the s the the
- 1:11:41Speaker 5: story of him meeting Chuck on Crenshaw and giving him
- 1:11:44Speaker 5: the mixtape and how that changed his life.
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: But you know, feeling that pressure of coming.
- 1:11:49Speaker 5: Up in the in the space after obviously Snoop and
- 1:11:51Speaker 5: Dre and then we had j I had a game.
- 1:11:53Speaker 4: Nick Kendrick was kind of teetering.
- 1:11:55Speaker 5: At that time, did he feel that pressure of like
- 1:11:58Speaker 5: being the next guy out of La.
- 1:12:01Speaker 9: Nip. Nip took everything on the chin, whether if he
- 1:12:04Speaker 9: was or if he he he he wasn't. Nip was
- 1:12:06Speaker 9: like one of them guys that was gonna do it
- 1:12:09Speaker 9: his way. Uh, he was gonna ride his own wave.
- 1:12:13Speaker 9: And and he was gonna figure it out. But I
- 1:12:15Speaker 9: I know the main thing that he wanted to do
- 1:12:18Speaker 9: was tell the people the truth and give it to 'em,
- 1:12:21Speaker 9: if even if he had to give it to him raw,
- 1:12:23Speaker 9: and even if he had to like lose his life
- 1:12:26Speaker 9: behind it, i'm'a give it to y'all. I'm'a let y'all
- 1:12:30Speaker 9: see what this mean. You know, and and everybody need
- 1:12:33Speaker 9: to know this. And and and this is something that
- 1:12:36Speaker 9: he said in one of his reps. Nip coulda left.
- 1:12:40Speaker 9: He did not have to be over here inside the neighborhood.
- 1:12:43Speaker 9: Nip did enough and had enough to leave. But like
- 1:12:47Speaker 9: on his song, he said that go against his vows.
- 1:12:50Speaker 9: He didn't wanna leave us. He didn't wanna leave you, brother.
- 1:12:54Speaker 9: So he said, if I got to, if I got
- 1:12:56Speaker 9: to die right here to wake us all up, then
- 1:12:59Speaker 9: so be Pack.
- 1:13:01Speaker 4: Is dope like another one.
- 1:13:03Speaker 5: You know, you don't really hear these guys speak, but
- 1:13:04Speaker 5: to hear Pack there's a certain level of comments about
- 1:13:08Speaker 5: him that reflected with me, and it was like he's
- 1:13:12Speaker 5: still very much in the situation. Was like he's stuck
- 1:13:16Speaker 5: in the ground and he understands his mission, but it's
- 1:13:19Speaker 5: still pain.
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: From play ball where he said, like you know that's
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: his clothing brand would have originally started out, was like
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: a real gang slinger, like you know, going to somebody
- 1:13:29Speaker 3: hood writing on the walls and like, yo, if you
- 1:13:31Speaker 3: want to do something about and play ball. But it's like,
- 1:13:33Speaker 3: all right, let's take that same negative energy and turn
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: it into something positive.
- 1:13:44Speaker 16: My conscious begging for murders, Polton wym draking my losses
- 1:13:47Speaker 16: made me a savage.
- 1:13:48Speaker 9: Convert me to it.
- 1:13:49Speaker 16: Dammit it be your hommies that deal it to you,
- 1:13:51Speaker 16: to say you you do what back they say you're wrong.
- 1:13:54Speaker 16: That's a contradiction. I can't play the victim was standing on.
- 1:13:57Speaker 16: Then my niggas speaking, nigga's spaking. You gotta see.
- 1:14:01Speaker 4: Alright, pack Man, it's the deal. It's to deal something. Brother.
- 1:14:04Speaker 9: You ain't called him by y'all feeling bro bless.
- 1:14:09Speaker 5: I can't I'll be honest with you. Walk in this
- 1:14:11Speaker 5: this space, you feel inspired?
- 1:14:13Speaker 4: Yeah yeah yeah, prints had it, bro.
- 1:14:17Speaker 3: Now this is a vibe man, this is your studio.
- 1:14:19Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 1:14:20Speaker 3: How long?
- 1:14:20Speaker 9: How long you uh? Going on?
- 1:14:22Speaker 4: Three or four years now?
- 1:14:23Speaker 9: I ain't really I don't even remember, bro, cause I
- 1:14:26Speaker 9: be moving around.
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: What made you?
- 1:14:27Speaker 9: I'll be trying to figure out many suns out signed
- 1:14:29Speaker 9: the least here it might be going on til.
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: What made you want to get your What made you
- 1:14:33Speaker 3: wanna get your own? A lot of artists they just
- 1:14:35Speaker 3: wrint studio time when they need to use the studio.
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: What made you wanna get your own studio?
- 1:14:41Speaker 9: Cause when you go rents rents studio time, that's like
- 1:14:45Speaker 9: you investing in ton studio. We ain't get really invest
- 1:14:48Speaker 9: into yourself. You feel me If you go to another
- 1:14:51Speaker 9: studio where a lot of people don't know. If you
- 1:14:52Speaker 9: go to a lot of another studio record some music
- 1:14:55Speaker 9: and you don't end up paying them been there on
- 1:14:57Speaker 9: the rights to that music, you feel me. So I
- 1:14:59Speaker 9: ain't really wanna run into none of them situations. Something
- 1:15:01Speaker 9: one I might be brother one month and I can't
- 1:15:03Speaker 9: inford those studio time, Like I just come home and record,
- 1:15:06Speaker 9: right here, you feel me. So it was just n
- 1:15:09Speaker 9: it made sense. But I started off recording myself at
- 1:15:12Speaker 9: my house in my room. You feel me. After BH
- 1:15:15Speaker 9: put me on, I uh had a little bs set
- 1:15:19Speaker 9: up in the corner. You feel me, messed up saying
- 1:15:22Speaker 9: no plug ins about seven eight tracks only you feel me?
- 1:15:26Speaker 9: So yeah, I was m I was motivated and inspired,
- 1:15:29Speaker 9: just too funny, get my own, you know, be a
- 1:15:31Speaker 9: man at some point. My my original plan as a
- 1:15:34Speaker 9: younger was just to be a hustler. I just want
- 1:15:36Speaker 9: to grind. You feel me. Wanted some quick money cause
- 1:15:39Speaker 9: I know I ain't never I ain't never planning on
- 1:15:41Speaker 9: getting no job or none. So you do what you
- 1:15:45Speaker 9: taught at time, you feel me, And what I was
- 1:15:47Speaker 9: taught was to hustle. Hustling. DH put up on me,
- 1:15:51Speaker 9: had a little conversation, you feel me, and he like,
- 1:15:54Speaker 9: come to the studio with me when it was done,
- 1:15:56Speaker 9: whenever what whatever it was doing, He like, come to
- 1:15:58Speaker 9: the studio with me around the corner. I'm like, na,
- 1:15:59Speaker 9: I'm straight, I'm finna go to the spot. Get the
- 1:16:02Speaker 9: shit off. He like, nigga, come on, I'm like alright. Fuck.
- 1:16:06Speaker 9: He It probably took him like fifteen twenty minutes to
- 1:16:08Speaker 9: give me out the house to go to the spot.
- 1:16:10Speaker 9: I mean go to the studio. So when I did that,
- 1:16:13Speaker 9: I'm like, I'm stiff. Bro. He got the mic in
- 1:16:16Speaker 9: the corner that the s the the set up JANKI, Bro,
- 1:16:19Speaker 9: I ain't.
- 1:16:20Speaker 3: Got no headfones.
- 1:16:22Speaker 9: We got to be playing real low. And then like
- 1:16:25Speaker 9: he helped me actually do it verse and you know,
- 1:16:27Speaker 9: he talk raft about what was actually doing in the
- 1:16:30Speaker 9: conversation and he played it back. And once he played
- 1:16:33Speaker 9: it back, That's when I'm like, oh, yeah, this shit tight.
- 1:16:36Speaker 9: I gotta get a bar this. So he had the niggas.
- 1:16:39Speaker 9: After that, I took my little real money instead of
- 1:16:41Speaker 9: ridding up. I went to the guitar center. I bought
- 1:16:43Speaker 9: all the cheapest equipment they had. I'm talking about the
- 1:16:46Speaker 9: Michael's probably seventy dollars, the uh pro tools, se no plugins.
- 1:16:52Speaker 9: I bought a stolen MacBook and I'm putting it together, bro.
- 1:16:56Speaker 9: And and yeah, I was a spied after hog he
- 1:16:58Speaker 9: took me to that, you know what I'm saying, took
- 1:16:59Speaker 9: me to the studio and UH, let me get it
- 1:17:01Speaker 9: in for sure.
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: When you meet, when you meet NIP, I.
- 1:17:05Speaker 9: Met Nip see originally cause you're younger, right, yeah, I'm younger.
- 1:17:09Speaker 9: I'm uh, I think I'm more at six seven maybe
- 1:17:12Speaker 9: eight years younger than Nip. I'm thirty one w Nip,
- 1:17:15Speaker 9: like thirty seven thirty right there. Yeah, So I first
- 1:17:19Speaker 9: seen it grinding. That's cause I was coming home from school.
- 1:17:23Speaker 9: I already heard him cause I seen Hi CDs in
- 1:17:24Speaker 9: the store. He feel me, niggas see him float through
- 1:17:27Speaker 9: the hood, past past the block and all that. But
- 1:17:30Speaker 9: really first conversation, it was at a liquor stone with
- 1:17:32Speaker 9: eight thives and sixty and he was filming like a documentary.
- 1:17:35Speaker 9: It mighta been a a video he was. He was
- 1:17:37Speaker 9: with the hemy of a dog. They were like in
- 1:17:40Speaker 9: a beat up Toyota or something with like di recording
- 1:17:43Speaker 9: a video. I think something of the footage on YouTube too.
- 1:17:47Speaker 9: That's when I first like had my first conversation with Nip.
- 1:17:50Speaker 9: And then it's crazy cause the first af after the
- 1:17:52Speaker 9: first time, that's when 'em started seeing each other more.
- 1:17:54Speaker 9: Cause at this point I'm I'm I'm outside now and
- 1:17:57Speaker 9: I'm being to the corners like the running to Nip.
- 1:17:59Speaker 9: Now he feel me. Then we kind of just it
- 1:18:01Speaker 9: was like a natural it. It ain't gonna be like
- 1:18:04Speaker 9: no corny oh, nothing like that. It was just like
- 1:18:07Speaker 9: a natural gravity to it. Like you know when you
- 1:18:09Speaker 9: meet a real nigga, you know, and then when you
- 1:18:11Speaker 9: meet it au a f a a flawed nigga, you
- 1:18:14Speaker 9: like ya, I ain't fucking with a cub, you feel me?
- 1:18:17Speaker 9: But uh man, that's pretty much how I first like
- 1:18:21Speaker 9: my interest, first international nip. Then after that it's being
- 1:18:24Speaker 9: just kind of building like slowly to show you all. Now,
- 1:18:27Speaker 9: nigga said it cauz every day cause I'm getting out more.
- 1:18:30Speaker 9: I'm fourteen fifteen now, so I could really hang out,
- 1:18:33Speaker 9: you know, nick being hanging out. So once I was
- 1:18:35Speaker 9: able to lead a gate and really explore the hood
- 1:18:37Speaker 9: a little bit, that's when I was able to like,
- 1:18:40Speaker 9: you know, run into huss and shit.
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: So like when all money in were you original member?
- 1:18:45Speaker 5: No?
- 1:18:46Speaker 9: Y I wonder I wasn't even think about rapping when
- 1:18:47Speaker 9: they have to all money in thing going. I'm a
- 1:18:50Speaker 9: family music listen to a lot of music, but that's
- 1:18:53Speaker 9: the a question. I wouldn't original member. It just kind
- 1:18:55Speaker 9: of formed that way randomly once A b Ag incroduced
- 1:18:58Speaker 9: me to the mic I'm recording every day now appost
- 1:19:03Speaker 9: were going to the spot. I'm staying in the house
- 1:19:05Speaker 9: recording music. You feel me putting it out, letting it
- 1:19:09Speaker 9: period that Uh, it was one time. I don't know
- 1:19:13Speaker 9: what happened, bro, and they just talking 'em like, yeah,
- 1:19:16Speaker 9: put the all money and stamp on the cover, and
- 1:19:18Speaker 9: that's just how it was. And then after that that's
- 1:19:20Speaker 9: when I know, like, oh yeah, that's what it is.
- 1:19:23Speaker 3: So it was never like in a f like you
- 1:19:25Speaker 3: just it just one day, you just it just happened.
- 1:19:28Speaker 9: It just happened, bro, It just happened naturally, like man,
- 1:19:31Speaker 9: put the all money and step on there. I'm from
- 1:19:33Speaker 9: shout sending to me, oh la, oh god initiation.
- 1:19:40Speaker 3: Yeah, so talk about I was just talking to copy
- 1:19:44Speaker 3: about this, and one thing that's very impressive about you
- 1:19:47Speaker 3: guys is y'all each got your own thing going. Even
- 1:19:49Speaker 3: when I was talking to Black saying, he was like
- 1:19:51Speaker 3: he really wants people to know that, Like, everybody got
- 1:19:54Speaker 3: their own thing going. He's like, you got to play ball.
- 1:19:57Speaker 3: Like the marriage, it's different people doing different things. Y'all
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: all connected, but y'all all staying on your own two feet. Yeah,
- 1:20:05Speaker 3: how important was that? Like was that nips how like
- 1:20:08Speaker 3: who's who's idea was that? To really push that? And
- 1:20:13Speaker 3: and like nobody's dependent on another person. Everybody gotta be
- 1:20:17Speaker 3: independent on a certain line.
- 1:20:18Speaker 9: I think we all just drew that way cause it
- 1:20:20Speaker 9: was never a conversation to where you need to do
- 1:20:22Speaker 9: your own thing, they to do your own thing. We
- 1:20:24Speaker 9: just showed up like that. Mm you feel me just
- 1:20:27Speaker 9: showed up on some play ball shit play uh twenty
- 1:20:30Speaker 9: five eight, you know, blue strip A and B. We
- 1:20:32Speaker 9: just showed up like that. It was already like some
- 1:20:36Speaker 9: was already pressing. We already had it in our minds
- 1:20:39Speaker 9: like it's gonna be all shit everything that we like
- 1:20:42Speaker 9: represent far as like play ball before the music got
- 1:20:45Speaker 9: being pressing play ball. But I come from originals like
- 1:20:48Speaker 9: going to spray paint and other niggas hoods. You feel me,
- 1:20:52Speaker 9: put Roller sixties, put your nine play ball, see what
- 1:20:54Speaker 9: t'all on. That's originally where it came from. But since
- 1:20:57Speaker 9: it's mine, I could do what I want with it.
- 1:21:00Speaker 9: You feel me if I wanna uh take that from
- 1:21:03Speaker 9: gang banging and go into other niggas hoods to put
- 1:21:06Speaker 9: it on a T shirt and push positivity, push ownership,
- 1:21:09Speaker 9: push leadership, you know, stuff like that, And that's what
- 1:21:14Speaker 9: I ended up doing. Put it on the T shirt.
- 1:21:16Speaker 9: It's make some money, you feel me. It's for everybody.
- 1:21:19Speaker 9: It ain't just subject to the hood. Feel me, cause
- 1:21:21Speaker 9: the biggest supporters came a lot from the East coast
- 1:21:24Speaker 9: for so Japan. You feel me. So it was like
- 1:21:29Speaker 9: it c we came like that already, like this what
- 1:21:31Speaker 9: we believed in.
- 1:21:32Speaker 4: It sounds like y'all all hat that natural grunt.
- 1:21:34Speaker 9: That natural. Yeah, it was natural. Yeah.
- 1:21:36Speaker 5: So with that that sense of ownership, was that something
- 1:21:40Speaker 5: just being around became ingreened inside of you.
- 1:21:44Speaker 9: I want a nigga, W know, it's kid, Let me
- 1:21:46Speaker 9: get some chips. Nah, I'm gonna go get fifty cents
- 1:21:49Speaker 9: for my mama, my own tips.
- 1:21:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:21:51Speaker 9: And I've been like that with everything my whole life.
- 1:21:53Speaker 9: You feel me. I don't wanna write another nigga card
- 1:21:56Speaker 9: and theate my own You feel me. Yeah.
- 1:21:58Speaker 5: So when when we walked in, then obviously I said
- 1:22:00Speaker 5: it's a mactally you could feel inspired. But another thing
- 1:22:03Speaker 5: that I noticed is the level of organization.
- 1:22:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:22:06Speaker 5: That tastes discipline right right, So as you're building the
- 1:22:10Speaker 5: playboard brand, right, I I'm looking at I'm like, wait,
- 1:22:13Speaker 5: he's got everything mapped out. This was like, this is
- 1:22:15Speaker 5: the the s W Where did that that level of
- 1:22:18Speaker 5: organization come from? Or again, was that developed or were
- 1:22:21Speaker 5: you watching that the older guys do it and say, alright,
- 1:22:25Speaker 5: they're doing this, but this is how they could do
- 1:22:26Speaker 5: it better. Let me make sure when I get my turn,
- 1:22:28Speaker 5: I ain't gonna do it better right right.
- 1:22:30Speaker 9: So the first real studio I been to was of
- 1:22:35Speaker 9: course NIPS, the all y'all just left from, but it
- 1:22:37Speaker 9: was like a different unit m and I thought it
- 1:22:39Speaker 9: was dope. Man. He had a little closet, you know,
- 1:22:41Speaker 9: soundproof on there. Thought it was dough. He's let us
- 1:22:44Speaker 9: come up there and record. And that's my first time.
- 1:22:48Speaker 9: I really liked to be able to see a real studio,
- 1:22:50Speaker 9: see how I really operate. It was a different feeling
- 1:22:53Speaker 9: opposed to like just being at somebody house recording Gang
- 1:22:56Speaker 9: of Traffic, Ganga Noise Smoked, the type of going off.
- 1:22:59Speaker 9: It was really like a cool little program he had
- 1:23:02Speaker 9: set up up in there. You feel me so, And
- 1:23:04Speaker 9: that's time progressed. I'm going to like I'm seeing Paramount Studios,
- 1:23:09Speaker 9: no name record plant, I'm like, that's what I want,
- 1:23:13Speaker 9: cause you know they used to get the sessions. Then
- 1:23:16Speaker 9: you go to a session. He probably got like a
- 1:23:19Speaker 9: nice fruit ball right there. You feel me? Some cookies.
- 1:23:21Speaker 9: You go to Paramount Studios and tell 'em we want
- 1:23:23Speaker 9: some cookies. They have been the soft bake cookies in there.
- 1:23:25Speaker 4: Mm.
- 1:23:26Speaker 9: It was like a operation in there. It was like
- 1:23:28Speaker 9: a compound. And then I ended up we we did
- 1:23:31Speaker 9: the uh what they call you where you from? Then
- 1:23:34Speaker 9: he took me with 'em to the Snoop Dogg compound,
- 1:23:37Speaker 9: the Inglewood. I'm like, this is a different level. That's
- 1:23:42Speaker 9: a different level. So I was just inspired by that.
- 1:23:44Speaker 9: M like, I gotta get my own now you feel me?
- 1:23:48Speaker 3: Yeah, We was talking to Hoggy and he was telling
- 1:23:52Speaker 3: us that uh Nip used to like give 'em assignments
- 1:23:55Speaker 3: like right down here, six month plan, Yeah, this book,
- 1:23:58Speaker 3: listen to the audio book with the phones on when
- 1:24:00Speaker 3: you fall asleep. Yeah, And he was like he ain't
- 1:24:03Speaker 3: understand it, but he would just do it. Yeah, Like
- 1:24:06Speaker 3: that's kind of even now to this day. Like he
- 1:24:08Speaker 3: uses a white board, he wan he wipes down his
- 1:24:10Speaker 3: vision playing like what are the some of the things
- 1:24:12Speaker 3: that that Nip you know it's stilled in you man.
- 1:24:16Speaker 9: Nigga used to talk so much, bro, and I took
- 1:24:19Speaker 9: it for granted cause I thought we had forever, you
- 1:24:21Speaker 9: know what I'm saying. So it'd be times like they
- 1:24:25Speaker 9: go to the studio or pull up to his house.
- 1:24:28Speaker 9: We'll be talking it up and he getting a gang.
- 1:24:30Speaker 9: But at this point, why he talking As I said,
- 1:24:33Speaker 9: I'm like, you know, I ain't taking advantage of it.
- 1:24:36Speaker 9: Uh all. I'm thinking, like, damn, I got a zip
- 1:24:38Speaker 9: at the house, Bro, I need to you know. And
- 1:24:43Speaker 9: then he watched the documentaries and I don't know what's
- 1:24:45Speaker 9: going on. He might be reading a book. I'm like, ah, nah,
- 1:24:49Speaker 9: I gotta go get some money cause a hood dad
- 1:24:52Speaker 9: later wrong, they can get to you know. I got
- 1:24:55Speaker 9: a little wise and a little older. That's when I
- 1:24:56Speaker 9: started playing attention. I ain't gonna lie to me for
- 1:25:00Speaker 9: yuh nah. I ended up uh catching the case Robberie
- 1:25:03Speaker 9: case didn't bailed me out. We was doing the uh
- 1:25:07Speaker 9: he did the v photo shoot for Victory Lack. The
- 1:25:10Speaker 9: original photo shot bailed me out. I went to the
- 1:25:13Speaker 9: photo shoot and we ended up going to the store
- 1:25:16Speaker 9: to get a suspect and we just had a conversation
- 1:25:20Speaker 9: about the situation on why it happened. It wasn't it
- 1:25:23Speaker 9: to change you feel me? And most rememberable thing I
- 1:25:29Speaker 9: can remember from that conversation he told me, you need
- 1:25:31Speaker 9: to cut the fat off. And the fat was, you know,
- 1:25:34Speaker 9: driving business, getting fresh every day, eating good, drinking liquor
- 1:25:41Speaker 9: getting dreary. You know you it was time to get
- 1:25:44Speaker 9: disciplined that way, God forbid it do happen again. You'll
- 1:25:49Speaker 9: have ten bands put up for some bill. You feel me,
- 1:25:51Speaker 9: You'll have like your your stuff together. You feel me.
- 1:25:54Speaker 9: And that's when I I it im I might I
- 1:25:56Speaker 9: MIGHTA took so long for me to like realize and
- 1:25:58Speaker 9: really put that into play. But that's one of the
- 1:26:01Speaker 9: most important things that Nip taught me and told me.
- 1:26:05Speaker 9: I don't heard when when you bailing me out that day.
- 1:26:07Speaker 5: Yeah, it's interesting cause as you're saying that, when we
- 1:26:10Speaker 5: walked in, you're watching the documentary. Yeah, we sit down,
- 1:26:14Speaker 5: you got the books. Yeah, And so you can feel
- 1:26:16Speaker 5: like the legacy is being passed on. The things you learned,
- 1:26:19Speaker 5: even subconsciously, are happening to you. I wonder what you
- 1:26:22Speaker 5: think of now as your role or being from the neighborhood.
- 1:26:27Speaker 5: What your impact now is for the people that are
- 1:26:28Speaker 5: still there.
- 1:26:29Speaker 9: Man, all I can do really is leave by demonstration,
- 1:26:33Speaker 9: cause I I I got like a lot of good
- 1:26:35Speaker 9: advice from uh older dudes from the hood that's you know,
- 1:26:38Speaker 9: that's that's being did it, but that's done with it.
- 1:26:41Speaker 9: Gave me advice. I'm about hanging in front of the building,
- 1:26:45Speaker 9: about walking to the store. He like, nigga, that kill you. Nigga,
- 1:26:48Speaker 9: get from in front of the building. Man, whatever the sixties, nigga,
- 1:26:51Speaker 9: I'm I'm posting, it's eighth thiven dough.
- 1:26:52Speaker 4: I'm right here.
- 1:26:54Speaker 9: And I don't take that to consideration until you get older.
- 1:26:58Speaker 9: Then you see it happen, you feel me, and then
- 1:27:01Speaker 9: there's only so much you can tell the youngest generation,
- 1:27:04Speaker 9: even my generation. I told people, my generation, my my,
- 1:27:07Speaker 9: my brother's ma. Some of my niggas I grew up
- 1:27:09Speaker 9: with from the sandbox. Come be bored with me at
- 1:27:12Speaker 9: the studio. We might we might be broke. Huh oh,
- 1:27:16Speaker 9: the holes ain't gonna put up. But nigga be safe.
- 1:27:18Speaker 9: And and it's an eggs a route guaranteed, that eggs
- 1:27:21Speaker 9: a rout Cause I seen the demonstration.
- 1:27:23Speaker 3: Obviously the gang culture is part of the nip legacy.
- 1:27:28Speaker 3: You guys, how is that as far as you watching
- 1:27:34Speaker 3: it being portrayed now, because now it's like it's all
- 1:27:38Speaker 3: over the world, it's everywhere. It's commercialized a lot of
- 1:27:43Speaker 3: different ways. What are your what's your thoughts on like
- 1:27:47Speaker 3: hip hop music, gang culture and like that coming together.
- 1:27:53Speaker 9: Don't get me wrong, it's a lot of real niggas
- 1:27:57Speaker 9: from other states. That's part of the gang. Tould you
- 1:28:00Speaker 9: that they adapted from Los Angeles. It's right, and they
- 1:28:03Speaker 9: some jenior real niggas and they do shit by the cold.
- 1:28:07Speaker 9: But the ones who really don't understand and shit and
- 1:28:11Speaker 9: the ain't really came to experience it and stuff like that,
- 1:28:17Speaker 9: it just looked corny f for them, you know what
- 1:28:19Speaker 9: I'm saying. It used to bother me, but now I'm
- 1:28:22Speaker 9: like man to each his own.
- 1:28:24Speaker 3: Do you think do you think it's Do you think
- 1:28:26Speaker 3: it's beneficial for them? For you, for just anybody like I.
- 1:28:30Speaker 3: Do you think that gangs are beneficial? Cause I was talking.
- 1:28:34Speaker 9: About not today. I don't think it is today. Not today.
- 1:28:37Speaker 9: If I knew it's gonna turn out like this, I'll
- 1:28:40Speaker 9: be the same nigga. But not an affiliate. M you feel me,
- 1:28:43Speaker 9: I'll be be the same me without saying Couzin sixty
- 1:28:47Speaker 9: crypt type shit and without that many enemies and shit
- 1:28:50Speaker 9: like that. But I'll be the same stand up, humble, selfless.
- 1:28:53Speaker 9: God you feel me, I'll be the same one. I
- 1:28:56Speaker 9: just you know when like like I said, you know
- 1:28:59Speaker 9: you you you You pick up what you learn and
- 1:29:01Speaker 9: what you see every day every day. It's just like
- 1:29:06Speaker 9: it it's still in you. But it ain't it a
- 1:29:08Speaker 9: it ain't beneficial not today.
- 1:29:10Speaker 5: Yeah, in terms of like even the exposure of it
- 1:29:12Speaker 5: when you're doing business. Obviously you got a brand, so
- 1:29:14Speaker 5: you music is your business.
- 1:29:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:29:17Speaker 5: If you alienate people, then you lose customers.
- 1:29:20Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:29:20Speaker 4: Is that one of those like kind of one of
- 1:29:21Speaker 4: those lessons you learn.
- 1:29:22Speaker 9: It as you would. Yeah, that that's one of I
- 1:29:24Speaker 9: still somebody just ask me about that too recently about
- 1:29:27Speaker 9: uh about ulrightdea I came over with. But they like,
- 1:29:32Speaker 9: oh uh, it's kind of like gonna be a little
- 1:29:36Speaker 9: due to the gang. But it's like the demonstrations, say otherwise,
- 1:29:41Speaker 9: you see when they buying playball clothing and boat from
- 1:29:45Speaker 9: Japan and they flying aready to pick it up or
- 1:29:48Speaker 9: when they getting like four or fire outfits and they
- 1:29:50Speaker 9: for they family in New York, like for a beanie
- 1:29:52Speaker 9: to the sweatpants. You feel me, it say otherwise feel me?
- 1:29:57Speaker 9: So I think like go like as far as like
- 1:30:02Speaker 9: in La, it'll be a little bit of resistance. But
- 1:30:06Speaker 9: when it come to outside the states, outside of like
- 1:30:09Speaker 9: different states and stuff, it'll be beneficial. Reason it being
- 1:30:13Speaker 9: or culture is so powerful to it like that. An
- 1:30:16Speaker 9: they ain't ever experienced it, but they probably know more
- 1:30:18Speaker 9: about it than I do. Mm, you feel megas. They
- 1:30:21Speaker 9: put they put our lifestyle on, do a magnifying glass
- 1:30:23Speaker 9: and look real careful, and they'll find something that we
- 1:30:25Speaker 9: missed and they wanna be a part of that. You
- 1:30:28Speaker 9: feel me, So you gotta think about it. Niggas Cana
- 1:30:32Speaker 9: bought T shirts that said crypt after country or a
- 1:30:36Speaker 9: T shirts that said nineteen sixty after country after states. Uh,
- 1:30:40Speaker 9: it'll be benefitis beneficial as at some degree. But far
- 1:30:46Speaker 9: as the La, Yeah, it ain't go. It ain't gonna
- 1:30:48Speaker 9: fly like that. Yeah, it ain't really no unity out
- 1:30:51Speaker 9: here like that. It's like every now for itself. It's
- 1:30:53Speaker 9: still a doggy dog world out here in La. Yeah,
- 1:30:55Speaker 9: in La, for sure, it's different from the other states.
- 1:30:58Speaker 9: When you go down South, they be I other than
- 1:31:01Speaker 9: when I went that Atlanta. They like this working together,
- 1:31:04Speaker 9: and then out out here is kind of like niggas
- 1:31:08Speaker 9: ain't even gonna speak to you. Nigga probably think you soft.
- 1:31:11Speaker 9: You say what's up? Bro, Nigga probably think you soft.
- 1:31:14Speaker 9: You know what I'm saying, But yeah it, you know it.
- 1:31:17Speaker 9: It's a resistance out here. When it come to like
- 1:31:19Speaker 9: certain merch, ll you gonna hit the ceiling at some
- 1:31:22Speaker 9: point you don't really wanna hit no ceiling. That's when
- 1:31:25Speaker 9: you gotta find time.
- 1:31:27Speaker 3: Hockey man, he's the He's the personality. You could just
- 1:31:30Speaker 3: tell his level of of reverence and respect for nim.
- 1:31:34Speaker 9: And you see nil she's Yates dude, that you gonna
- 1:31:37Speaker 9: account for it. When he said we went to the
- 1:31:39Speaker 9: sanctuary that night, I felt that way.
- 1:31:43Speaker 5: I felt like, this is a prittylege opportunity that nobody's had,
- 1:31:47Speaker 5: but they wanted us to see it because they understand
- 1:31:50Speaker 5: the mission that we're on.
- 1:31:51Speaker 9: Yeah, man, in the back of the back pates or
- 1:31:53Speaker 9: stuffing like well what what up?
- 1:31:55Speaker 5: Yeah listen man, you know, watching the the marathon and
- 1:31:59Speaker 5: and watching y'all your story, man, It's always been super inspirational.
- 1:32:04Speaker 9: But I was talking talk D to uh Copy yesterday
- 1:32:07Speaker 9: and he was saying.
- 1:32:08Speaker 6: Yo, he was my young boy and he pulled you up.
- 1:32:12Speaker 5: So what was it like as a young and watching
- 1:32:14Speaker 5: these guys move around uh in in in the city
- 1:32:17Speaker 5: at the time.
- 1:32:19Speaker 10: Shit shouting dry la at the time, it was crazy.
- 1:32:23Speaker 10: You see what I'm saying, Copy a couple other bras,
- 1:32:27Speaker 10: See what I'm saying. They was like people I looked
- 1:32:30Speaker 10: up to when I was young. See what I'm saying.
- 1:32:32Speaker 10: They was hood. They did what they were supposed to do,
- 1:32:35Speaker 10: but they didn't just steer a nigga like crash out.
- 1:32:40Speaker 10: It's like, you gonna do everything you gotta do, but
- 1:32:43Speaker 10: I'm not just gonna crash you. So I I liked it.
- 1:32:45Speaker 10: That was certain, you know what I'm saying. Older armies
- 1:32:48Speaker 10: and yeah, I kind of like took a little bit
- 1:32:52Speaker 10: of all my bras and like mixed it into my shit.
- 1:32:57Speaker 10: And then I just came with that recipe I.
- 1:32:59Speaker 4: W on of the ad times.
- 1:33:00Speaker 5: Do you think how the older youngins in the neighborhood
- 1:33:04Speaker 5: why they chose you?
- 1:33:06Speaker 9: What th what what you think they saw on you
- 1:33:07Speaker 9: to say? Yo? We gotta grab him and bring him
- 1:33:09Speaker 9: with us.
- 1:33:11Speaker 10: Shit, it wasn't really you know shit, know what I'm saying. Man,
- 1:33:19Speaker 10: It wasn't even like it just it just happened. Like
- 1:33:23Speaker 10: it just happened. Like I'm in the hood doing my shit.
- 1:33:27Speaker 10: They in the hood doing they shit. And you know
- 1:33:29Speaker 10: how it's more or not even like a person could choose.
- 1:33:36Speaker 10: It's more like the energy. Mm, the energy choose you.
- 1:33:39Speaker 10: You know what I mean?
- 1:33:40Speaker 4: Yea, yea yeah.
- 1:33:41Speaker 10: So like I get with Kyby, I'll get with Nip.
- 1:33:43Speaker 10: I get with these type people and the energy connected us,
- 1:33:47Speaker 10: not like I tried to be with them or try
- 1:33:50Speaker 10: to be they little bro, you know what I mean.
- 1:33:53Speaker 10: And the same with them. I feel like the energy
- 1:33:56Speaker 10: connected with them where they like we fuck with little
- 1:33:58Speaker 10: bro and then and it was on from there.
- 1:34:01Speaker 4: Yeah. That that's important.
- 1:34:02Speaker 10: Man.
- 1:34:03Speaker 9: It's similar to our story.
- 1:34:04Speaker 5: And I was telling you, like a lot of people
- 1:34:06Speaker 5: see our team, but they see the young guys with us,
- 1:34:08Speaker 5: and there was always uh a mission of us said
- 1:34:10Speaker 5: like look, if they gonna be the next let's grab
- 1:34:12Speaker 5: and make sure they they always good. So you know,
- 1:34:15Speaker 5: that was one of the things I seen in and
- 1:34:16Speaker 5: that the young crew was like, alright, we gotta do that.
- 1:34:18Speaker 5: But I I seen that in Ja and his crew,
- 1:34:20Speaker 5: you know what I'm saying. So that's how the music translates.
- 1:34:22Speaker 5: But I wanna right now, obviously in the role that
- 1:34:24Speaker 5: you're in, obviously you've grown. You know what, do you
- 1:34:27Speaker 5: feel your role is now to the the younger homies
- 1:34:29Speaker 5: that's still out in the hood, Like do you rope back?
- 1:34:32Speaker 9: Do you mentor them?
- 1:34:33Speaker 5: Like?
- 1:34:33Speaker 9: Are you taking the role now that Waltz was given
- 1:34:35Speaker 9: to you?
- 1:34:36Speaker 10: For sure? Like you know, I feel like we got
- 1:34:40Speaker 10: laid by example, you know what I'm saying. I'm tryna
- 1:34:43Speaker 10: push and get to these levels where I could show
- 1:34:46Speaker 10: my young niggas this shit could be done, just like hussele,
- 1:34:49Speaker 10: what's tryna do with us? And so at myer that
- 1:34:53Speaker 10: goes to just keep going, get bigger, bigger, bigger, so
- 1:34:57Speaker 10: people can from my neighborhood see like cause on my side,
- 1:35:02Speaker 10: niggas don't make it, you know what I'm saying. So
- 1:35:04Speaker 10: they never seen nobody's eather make it. S Nipper was
- 1:35:08Speaker 10: the biggest shit like over there, like you know what
- 1:35:10Speaker 10: I'm saying. So it's like they gotta keep that going
- 1:35:13Speaker 10: cause I know that's what Nip was on. He wanted
- 1:35:15Speaker 10: to like and he went out for that shit. So
- 1:35:18Speaker 10: I respect that. So I'm like, I gotta keep that
- 1:35:20Speaker 10: shit going no matter what. You see what I'm saying,
- 1:35:23Speaker 10: until it's over for me or wherever the fuck. And
- 1:35:26Speaker 10: then it passed on to the young niggas and they
- 1:35:29Speaker 10: didn't learn from what they learned from me, and keep
- 1:35:31Speaker 10: this shit alive, you know what I mean? Where this
- 1:35:34Speaker 10: shit live forever? The marathon' always uh continue.
- 1:35:45Speaker 4: Me me?
- 1:35:49Speaker 10: Yeah, yeah, only smoking given, no pass.
- 1:36:04Speaker 3: Alright, So we in the sanctuary.
- 1:36:07Speaker 10: Yeah, man, that's the way.
- 1:36:08Speaker 3: That's what bro To said.
- 1:36:09Speaker 10: This is the sanctuary.
- 1:36:10Speaker 3: We don't want to we don't let nobody in here.
- 1:36:12Speaker 10: Yeah, it's compound coma.
- 1:36:14Speaker 4: Just what's lasting.
- 1:36:15Speaker 3: So tell me to 'em what what this is? A studio?
- 1:36:18Speaker 10: This is it?
- 1:36:18Speaker 3: This is the original studio.
- 1:36:20Speaker 10: Yeah, it's one of the original studios.
- 1:36:22Speaker 9: You know.
- 1:36:24Speaker 10: That's on our headquarters, keeping this shit going, still going.
- 1:36:29Speaker 11: So I see a little board.
- 1:36:30Speaker 3: You got to move on. Records, you got the clothing,
- 1:36:35Speaker 3: you got the exotics, you got the foundation. So tell
- 1:36:39Speaker 3: us what's what's going on. Let's let's start with the records.
- 1:36:42Speaker 9: So what's going on?
- 1:36:42Speaker 10: With the music side. For you with the music side,
- 1:36:45Speaker 10: I've been like just like focusing in, like working on
- 1:36:50Speaker 10: my craft, being real quiet, just you know, working. So
- 1:36:54Speaker 10: I got some shit. So I got a gang of
- 1:36:56Speaker 10: song I just been stacking 'em, stacking 'em. So now
- 1:36:59Speaker 10: I ain't got to the point where I'm ready to
- 1:37:01Speaker 10: put 'em out cause I've been working on it so long.
- 1:37:04Speaker 10: And yeah, so that's about to come out real soon.
- 1:37:08Speaker 10: I've been tryna just pick through the song, see what
- 1:37:12Speaker 10: I wanna drop first? What should I keep or should
- 1:37:15Speaker 10: I you know what I mean? Shit like that.
- 1:37:18Speaker 3: So you got a like nit fatal experience. Knit actually
- 1:37:22Speaker 3: rapped about it, and you said, when you all got
- 1:37:24Speaker 3: shot in his head, how did that feel? How did
- 1:37:26Speaker 3: that change your life? If anything? Like you know her
- 1:37:29Speaker 3: fifty when you say you got shot at times and
- 1:37:32Speaker 3: it made him work hard. It it changed his whole
- 1:37:34Speaker 3: work ethic, It changed his whole outlook or everything. And
- 1:37:37Speaker 3: that's even his voice changed. And he said, like you
- 1:37:39Speaker 3: really tapped into that kind of made him an artist
- 1:37:42Speaker 3: that he is. Now, How how did that experience you
- 1:37:45Speaker 3: know shape.
- 1:37:45Speaker 10: You shit really just made me understand like this shit
- 1:37:52Speaker 10: is real? Like you could be right there in one minute.
- 1:37:55Speaker 10: And then you gone, like you know what I'm saying,
- 1:37:57Speaker 10: that was that close. I was just chilling and and
- 1:38:00Speaker 10: I was shot bleeding, you see what I'm saying. And
- 1:38:02Speaker 10: I was like, damn, it's it's a rap like you
- 1:38:07Speaker 10: just And I was sixteen at the time, so I
- 1:38:10Speaker 10: was still young. I was like, Damn, it's crazy you shot.
- 1:38:14Speaker 10: You fucked up, you bleeding right now. And I'm like,
- 1:38:19Speaker 10: you see what I'm saying. You worked yourself quick just
- 1:38:21Speaker 10: off a little decision. You made one little decision changed
- 1:38:25Speaker 10: your whole life that fast. And then it it kind
- 1:38:28Speaker 10: of made me realize what like my mom kind of
- 1:38:32Speaker 10: used to tell me she's trying to like prevent that
- 1:38:36Speaker 10: type of shit from happening, you know, but you're a
- 1:38:37Speaker 10: young nigga when you like fifteen sixteen, you don't want
- 1:38:40Speaker 10: to hear that shit. But I remember getting shot, and
- 1:38:42Speaker 10: I'm like, damn, thed that trick myself all of this
- 1:38:47Speaker 10: shit that fast, she said, like nigga, I And then
- 1:38:51Speaker 10: I sit there like damn, And so I was fucked up.
- 1:38:55Speaker 10: They said shit like I couldn't walk or be brained
- 1:38:59Speaker 10: dead like all that type of shit. And when I
- 1:39:04Speaker 10: bounce back from that hustle really kind of grab me up,
- 1:39:07Speaker 10: like you about to do some other shit like and
- 1:39:10Speaker 10: I'm like, come on, man, I'm with that, like let's
- 1:39:13Speaker 10: do something. So that went to that, and then I
- 1:39:16Speaker 10: started just sitting in the studio watching him work and
- 1:39:19Speaker 10: I'm tryna hustle, do a little shit, and I said,
- 1:39:22Speaker 10: be like, bro, this shit born, like how you stay
- 1:39:25Speaker 10: here all day? Like like, bro, you ain't depressed, like
- 1:39:29Speaker 10: looking at these same walls. He wouldn't leave, and I'm like, bro,
- 1:39:33Speaker 10: I'll be back, like I'll feel you, but I'll be back.
- 1:39:36Speaker 10: But then I come back, he's still there. See what
- 1:39:40Speaker 10: I'm saying. So that taught me like this, how you
- 1:39:43Speaker 10: gotta do it. If you wanna do it, you can't leave.
- 1:39:46Speaker 10: Make the food come to you. Make everybody that's in
- 1:39:49Speaker 10: your life come to you if they care. Don't leave.
- 1:39:53Speaker 10: And so hey, I've been following that program, Like you
- 1:39:56Speaker 10: know what's like when.
- 1:39:57Speaker 3: Fifty said more work to piy mahs and then what
- 1:40:00Speaker 3: do you say, Now I know that I'm here for
- 1:40:01Speaker 3: a real reason, like yeah, shot, yeah, hey you said
- 1:40:06Speaker 3: you could have been brained in it, you could have
- 1:40:08Speaker 3: been paralyzed, but you know that's that's that's something that
- 1:40:12Speaker 3: it's actually America for sure.
- 1:40:15Speaker 5: There's a there's a bigger mission, bigger calling on your life.
- 1:40:17Speaker 5: Well you walked in here, you said, Yo, this is
- 1:40:19Speaker 5: the sanctuary. This is why, this is why I get
- 1:40:21Speaker 5: the ideas. And so we we talked about the records.
- 1:40:24Speaker 5: But let's talk about the exotics, you know what I mean.
- 1:40:26Speaker 5: We we we talked to copy yesterday and he was
- 1:40:28Speaker 5: talking about the marijuana industry ten years ago in his
- 1:40:30Speaker 5: vision for it. How'd you get into it? What what's
- 1:40:33Speaker 5: your vision for the growth of your business.
- 1:40:36Speaker 10: Or shit like Originally back in the days, I was
- 1:40:42Speaker 10: known for like having weed, shit like that, the best
- 1:40:45Speaker 10: weed in the neighborhood. Everybody had come to me. And
- 1:40:50Speaker 10: one thing about me, I wanted to get some money
- 1:40:52Speaker 10: cause we didn't have no money. So it wasn't a
- 1:40:55Speaker 10: time you couldn't call me two thirty I'm waking up,
- 1:40:58Speaker 10: three thirty am. I'm waiting up like it didn't matter.
- 1:41:01Speaker 10: Call my phone. You can get some weed. Pull right
- 1:41:04Speaker 10: to the back. I'm coming out. I'm gonna serve anybody
- 1:41:08Speaker 10: for the whole South Central used to come pull up,
- 1:41:11Speaker 10: get the little weed and go on on on and so,
- 1:41:16Speaker 10: like I always was like, and one day a nigga
- 1:41:19Speaker 10: need to take that shit to the next level, see
- 1:41:21Speaker 10: what I'm saying. So now we like and then Nip
- 1:41:25Speaker 10: got this little strand marathon Og. We got the collective
- 1:41:29Speaker 10: of the weed Store. And so now I'm like, shit,
- 1:41:33Speaker 10: this shit turning like legit. Let me turn my not
- 1:41:38Speaker 10: legit life to the legit life. And so sat down
- 1:41:43Speaker 10: with some growers, picked my favorite strands, uh, got my packaging, made,
- 1:41:51Speaker 10: did shit like that, and dropped. So I'm about to
- 1:41:55Speaker 10: do the official drop. I don't know a date, but
- 1:41:57Speaker 10: it's coming. I ain't at the official drop yet.
- 1:42:01Speaker 3: So what's talking about this merch situation? You got a hoodie, yeah,
- 1:42:06Speaker 3: has a a hundred dollar bill on it, and you
- 1:42:09Speaker 3: say that's gonna be that's gonna be a castle that you.
- 1:42:12Speaker 4: Would be dropt and swing.
- 1:42:13Speaker 3: So what's the deal with the merk?
- 1:42:14Speaker 4: What?
- 1:42:14Speaker 9: What?
- 1:42:15Speaker 3: What inspires you to fashion? You seem like you you
- 1:42:17Speaker 3: into fashion. You been in fashion your whole life?
- 1:42:20Speaker 10: Yeah, you know, always been in a fashion Like when
- 1:42:24Speaker 10: I started can afford it? You know, it was Tom
- 1:42:27Speaker 10: and A just have to have to wherever he at.
- 1:42:29Speaker 10: You got that, But yeah, when it got to the
- 1:42:31Speaker 10: point I can afford it. Hell yeah, I wanna put
- 1:42:34Speaker 10: that shit on every day. So like my hoodie what
- 1:42:39Speaker 10: kind of inspired, Like they call me Bluey cause it's
- 1:42:42Speaker 10: like the blue money. Once I got that blue money,
- 1:42:44Speaker 10: it kind of turned me out.
- 1:42:46Speaker 9: I just went bright.
- 1:42:49Speaker 10: And so with my clothing brand, I kind of wanted
- 1:42:52Speaker 10: it to be like kind of like about me and
- 1:42:55Speaker 10: kind of like how I live and what I represent.
- 1:42:59Speaker 10: So I'm in the blue strip. I call myself blue strip. Also,
- 1:43:03Speaker 10: I got a lot of names, so bluey, blue strip
- 1:43:07Speaker 10: all that. So I was like, I gotta put a
- 1:43:10Speaker 10: blue strip on every hoodie. People like, well, you Grady,
- 1:43:13Speaker 10: you gotta s You gonna have to put the money
- 1:43:15Speaker 10: on it too. I was like, shit, fuck it, I'm
- 1:43:17Speaker 10: just gonna have to put the money. And So I
- 1:43:20Speaker 10: had that idea for so long, like I don't know,
- 1:43:25Speaker 10: maybe like ten years some shit like that. I just
- 1:43:28Speaker 10: had the idea like and then recently I was just like, man,
- 1:43:31Speaker 10: won't you bring the fucking idea to life and make
- 1:43:36Speaker 10: the shit happen and put 'em up like and so
- 1:43:39Speaker 10: I went and pulled up on my boy hollered at
- 1:43:42Speaker 10: like Black Sam got some ideas from everybody that I
- 1:43:45Speaker 10: fuck with, bought her who else? I pulled up on
- 1:43:50Speaker 10: couple dudes. You know what I'm saying that I fuck
- 1:43:52Speaker 10: with and I I fuck with that vision or toothfly
- 1:43:56Speaker 10: he got the vertebrate, shut out vertebrae. It's my boy.
- 1:43:59Speaker 10: Uh pulled up, got some ideas and I went to
- 1:44:03Speaker 10: my my dude uh factory and I told him in
- 1:44:08Speaker 10: the concept the idea, gave him a hundred picked the color,
- 1:44:12Speaker 10: came with some artwork, and he brought it to life.
- 1:44:15Speaker 10: See what I'm saying. I hate that one. And I
- 1:44:17Speaker 10: was like, yeah this, yeah, now I could see it now.
- 1:44:22Speaker 10: I'm like, I'm gonna tweak little things, add little tags
- 1:44:25Speaker 10: and worth and then it's just ready to go. I'm
- 1:44:28Speaker 10: just gonna drop it.
- 1:44:30Speaker 5: Hold out mixed teeth to the hundred dollar bill in the.
- 1:44:32Speaker 10: Sweatshirt, shit like that, like some hustle shit.
- 1:44:36Speaker 5: I mean, we got the records, we got the exotics,
- 1:44:38Speaker 5: but most importantly, and I know that meant a lot
- 1:44:40Speaker 5: to you know, the entire Arethone family. It's community. And
- 1:44:44Speaker 5: so you got blue many foundations. So talk a little
- 1:44:47Speaker 5: about what that is and the impact that you can
- 1:44:49Speaker 5: see for.
- 1:44:50Speaker 10: That shit, the Blue Money Foundation. I just want to,
- 1:44:54Speaker 10: like a lot of the funds I get from I
- 1:44:58Speaker 10: don't know, the Clothes and the Mute. I just always
- 1:45:01Speaker 10: want to take a lease, I don't know, ten percent
- 1:45:04Speaker 10: something throwing to the funds the Blue Money Foundation. You
- 1:45:10Speaker 10: know what I'm saying. It's just so like the neighborhood.
- 1:45:13Speaker 10: We got the Nip Hustle Foundation also, so just so
- 1:45:17Speaker 10: the neighborhood, like the kids and the people that's growing
- 1:45:20Speaker 10: up after us when they don't have like backpacks and
- 1:45:25Speaker 10: shit like that for school and all that, the Blue
- 1:45:29Speaker 10: Money Foundation or the Hustle Foundation, we're covering all that.
- 1:45:34Speaker 10: You know, if you really serious needed we got that.
- 1:45:38Speaker 10: If you really serious need a MacBook and you a
- 1:45:41Speaker 10: kid that's in school and you really handling your business,
- 1:45:46Speaker 10: we'll buy you a MacBook. But you need to come
- 1:45:49Speaker 10: on and show the right shit that you've really been working.
- 1:45:53Speaker 10: Go on my pocket and get the MacBook. So what
- 1:45:55Speaker 10: I'm saying, So that's kind of how I want my
- 1:45:58Speaker 10: foundation to be. Just it's about like giving back to
- 1:46:01Speaker 10: the people that really needed.
- 1:46:03Speaker 5: Is that something that's been fundamental and in pretty much
- 1:46:06Speaker 5: everybody's business. It seems like everybody has their own independent thing,
- 1:46:09Speaker 5: although it's a it's a family old money and it's
- 1:46:13Speaker 5: the community give back of foundational principle inside the businesses.
- 1:46:17Speaker 10: Yeah, it is cause you know, like when you come
- 1:46:20Speaker 10: from nothing, you know how it feel to be like
- 1:46:23Speaker 10: I have nothing. I'm sure like we all come from
- 1:46:26Speaker 10: like where it was thirsty. We didn't have no bag
- 1:46:29Speaker 10: to start with. So it was like when I be
- 1:46:33Speaker 10: able to have my bag and you know, do my shit.
- 1:46:36Speaker 10: I think back, like I remember I was like y'all
- 1:46:39Speaker 10: one time, So it's like if I could help y'all
- 1:46:42Speaker 10: take this. I can't give y'all everything, but here take this.
- 1:46:47Speaker 10: You know what I'm saying, to keep going, don't stop
- 1:46:50Speaker 10: shit like that?
- 1:46:52Speaker 3: So how is how is it important for all y'all
- 1:46:55Speaker 3: guys that still like it seem like y'all real, real close,
- 1:46:57Speaker 3: like the whole al moment after the past, Like how
- 1:47:03Speaker 3: important wasn't to just still remain close and be each
- 1:47:06Speaker 3: other the support system. Cause I'm sure everybody got their
- 1:47:08Speaker 3: own issues and everybody deals with things differently, but you
- 1:47:13Speaker 3: know how important was that to still remain as a
- 1:47:15Speaker 3: human even though it.
- 1:47:17Speaker 10: Was no longer here. I feel like it was very
- 1:47:21Speaker 10: important to like keep the squad together, cause it's like,
- 1:47:26Speaker 10: fuck us, this will hustle, build hustle, seeing something in
- 1:47:30Speaker 10: each person where he put this together and you know
- 1:47:33Speaker 10: what I'm saying, and he made a play that's it's like, Okay,
- 1:47:37Speaker 10: I fuck if I like it or not, or if
- 1:47:40Speaker 10: y'all like it, Uh, this hustle play. So if y'all
- 1:47:44Speaker 10: fuck with hustle everybody, we gotta keep this shit together.
- 1:47:48Speaker 10: And so I'm like I always just said i'm'a do
- 1:47:51Speaker 10: my part, and I just do my part and this shit,
- 1:47:55Speaker 10: you know what I mean, whatever the squad need for
- 1:47:57Speaker 10: me or they call 'em whatever, I'm on that it.
- 1:48:02Speaker 3: So what's the what's the vision moving forward? What's what
- 1:48:05Speaker 3: are you most passionate about? You got the music, got
- 1:48:07Speaker 3: the candidates, you got to close, Like what'sh What's what's
- 1:48:11Speaker 3: your number one passion that you believe?
- 1:48:13Speaker 11: Did he one?
- 1:48:14Speaker 10: Umber two? I'm just really tryna like take it there.
- 1:48:20Speaker 10: You see what I'm saying, Like my mission hustle. We
- 1:48:23Speaker 10: used to sit in here and just focus on like
- 1:48:26Speaker 10: taking it there, like doing some shit that never been done.
- 1:48:30Speaker 10: You know what I'm saying, Being like Warren Buffett, but
- 1:48:35Speaker 10: from south Central that never been done. He don't know
- 1:48:38Speaker 10: a nigga that got sixty billion that's from South Central.
- 1:48:43Speaker 10: You see what I'm saying. Shit like that we used
- 1:48:45Speaker 10: to be on and I used to be like, yeah,
- 1:48:47Speaker 10: I'm like, that's sound a tricky hustle, but hey man,
- 1:48:51Speaker 10: I believe it that we could try it.
- 1:48:53Speaker 11: I'm with it.
- 1:48:54Speaker 9: Let's try it.
- 1:48:55Speaker 10: He like, nah, I'm all trust me, bro, let's just
- 1:48:57Speaker 10: stay down. Fuck all that we gonna just s And
- 1:49:00Speaker 10: I'm like, alright, well right here, let's cover. And so
- 1:49:06Speaker 10: to this day, I'm still on that mission, like Warren
- 1:49:09Speaker 10: buffet this shit, go grab that money, go get you
- 1:49:12Speaker 10: sixty billion now, n Like that's them there, Like alright,
- 1:49:16Speaker 10: you did something, cause now you can go turn the
- 1:49:19Speaker 10: everybody up, you can turn the hood up, you can
- 1:49:21Speaker 10: look out. You know what I'm saying. M But if
- 1:49:23Speaker 10: you don't do that, you ain't really done nothing. Like
- 1:49:26Speaker 10: I'm tryna do some shit that ain't been done. That's
- 1:49:29Speaker 10: really the goal. Like I'm tryna take you to a
- 1:49:31Speaker 10: level while I'm scared of myself.
- 1:49:33Speaker 4: Like I L I like that you said that you
- 1:49:34Speaker 4: you wanna take it with nobody's ever going right.
- 1:49:37Speaker 5: So all money in obviously this family, we feel like
- 1:49:40Speaker 5: we're living inside of m Nip's legacy. But I wanna know,
- 1:49:44Speaker 5: as an individual, what do you want your legacy to be?
- 1:49:49Speaker 4: Shit?
- 1:49:50Speaker 10: But our legacy just like just me, like what I
- 1:49:54Speaker 10: live by, you know, I live by the cold. Just
- 1:49:56Speaker 10: stay real to this shit. Don't fold. Don't do the
- 1:50:00Speaker 10: little bulls shit Like even though I come from like
- 1:50:03Speaker 10: some scanners, shit, I don't do bullshit to my folk
- 1:50:07Speaker 10: and like and sound or all that. That's goofy shit
- 1:50:10Speaker 10: to me. Horm rights, we don't do that.
- 1:50:13Speaker 5: And so.
- 1:50:15Speaker 10: Yeah, I just wanna you know, just what the young
- 1:50:20Speaker 10: dads or whoever looking up to this shit and know
- 1:50:23Speaker 10: that like no matter how you start, that ain't how
- 1:50:27Speaker 10: you gotta finish. You can do whatever you really wanna
- 1:50:30Speaker 10: do if you take it there. You know what I'm saying.
- 1:50:33Speaker 10: It is the difference in like winning lusing is like,
- 1:50:37Speaker 10: ain't the one is to win? Like if you never
- 1:50:39Speaker 10: wanna win, you not gonna win.
- 1:50:41Speaker 3: We don't get a chance to write our legacy. You know,
- 1:50:44Speaker 3: nobody gets a chance to write their legacy. Your legacy
- 1:50:47Speaker 3: is written by other people.
- 1:50:48Speaker 9: Y'all.
- 1:50:48Speaker 3: Remember Styles has said this, like only thing that matters
- 1:50:51Speaker 3: when you when they when you die is what they
- 1:50:53Speaker 3: thought of you. And you could tell how great he
- 1:50:57Speaker 3: was because of how what they order from what they
- 1:51:00Speaker 3: think of him. But the one common denominator between every
- 1:51:04Speaker 3: single person that we spoke to, it's how close they
- 1:51:07Speaker 3: hold knit.
- 1:51:08Speaker 5: This is a privilege opportunity that nobody's had, but they
- 1:51:12Speaker 5: wanted us to see it because they understand the mission
- 1:51:14Speaker 5: that we're on.
- 1:51:15Speaker 3: Even though I never got a chance to meet him,
- 1:51:18Speaker 3: I know.
- 1:51:18Speaker 9: Who he was as a person.
- 1:51:19Speaker 3: I know how he was now cause I got a
- 1:51:21Speaker 3: chance to meet the people that were closest to them,
- 1:51:23Speaker 3: and I I I think I have a a full
- 1:51:26Speaker 3: understanding of who he was as a person, how he was,
- 1:51:29Speaker 3: how how the conversation would have been if we weren't
- 1:51:32Speaker 3: able to have that conversation with him. But we did
- 1:51:34Speaker 3: have a conversation with him through the people that he
- 1:51:37Speaker 3: loved the most.
- 1:51:38Speaker 5: Is go back to that first line, like if you
- 1:51:39Speaker 5: would do is that wasn't supposed to make it out,
- 1:51:42Speaker 5: but the cude the language. I felt like Nip was
- 1:51:44Speaker 5: speaking about himself, so but I feel like he was
- 1:51:47Speaker 5: talking about us too, especially in financial education, something that
- 1:51:51Speaker 5: was way over everybody's had, but we decoded the natrix
- 1:51:55Speaker 5: and when we get to speak, it's like.
- 1:51:57Speaker 9: A code of language.
- 1:51:58Speaker 4: We understand the language we speaking.
- 1:52:10Speaker 1: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 1:52:14Speaker 1: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from Al Salvador
- 1:52:18Speaker 1: accused of murdering a Texas man of Venezuelan charged with
- 1:52:22Speaker 1: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 1:52:30Speaker 1: Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christy Noman, the United States
- 1:52:33Speaker 1: Secretary of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted illegal border
- 1:52:38Speaker 1: crossings are at the lowest levels ever recorded, and over
- 1:52:42Speaker 1: one hundred thousand illegal aliens have been arrested. If you
- 1:52:45Speaker 1: are here illegally, your next you will be fine nearly
- 1:52:49Speaker 1: one thousand dollars a day, imprisoned and deported, you will
- 1:52:53Speaker 1: never return. But if you register using our CBP home
- 1:52:57Speaker 1: app and leave now, you could be allowed to return legally.
- 1:53:00Speaker 1: Do what's right.
- 1:53:02Speaker 11: Leave now.
- 1:53:03Speaker 1: Under President Trump, America's laws, border and families.
- 1:53:07Speaker 6: Will be protected.
- 1:53:08Speaker 2: Sponsored by the United States Department of Homeland Security,
