- 0:03[SPEAKER_00]: We're your hosts.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_00]: My name is Phoebe and my name is Caroline and today We are back again with another pretty little punch ball y'all hopefully you're enjoying these because if you're not You're probably a boy with us, but that's that would be crazy for you not to be enjoying these.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: That would be actually crazy No one's ever been annoyed with us No, I don't I literally that is what's so different about you and me.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_00]: It's like
- 0:26[SPEAKER_00]: relatable in some ways, but mostly we're different because no one's ever been annoyed with that.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_00]: No, not in our family, not in our personal lives, especially in our listeners at all, not each other even.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_00]: I'm happy you've never been annoyed with me.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, period.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_00]: End of time.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_01]: I wanted to tell you that I wasn't going to clip from Salt Lake where the gout dick one or no, no, it was Bronwyn and Heather where they were like, I guess we'll just wait for our next public thrashing.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_00]: You did send that to me.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I wanted to send it, but I thought better, no, you did and you said literally us.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: Or you said, like, kind of us or something like that.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: It's okay, it's you at all the time, I just think it's extra funny that you literally don't remember doing it You have a thought that you might want to do it and you're like, nah, but you fully did I think sometimes I don't add it and I guess actually when it's like when I'm laying on the couch When I'm horizontal on the couch grazing out of me on scrolling on my phone I mean, I'll send every night is all the time on Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, it says though I'm like a little bit toasted Like in everybody's story, responding to everybody's story
- 1:40[SPEAKER_01]: That is one of those sensations as a human that is, honestly, when you get into, you don't even have to be drunk, but when you do, when you even have a social high and you're on Instagram, like, responding whatever, that is like,
- 1:58[SPEAKER_01]: You, the hangover that you got in the morning, even if you're not drunk or you don't not, is the like, oh my god.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what's worse.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: Like the post hang out, you know, they call it posty app clarity, post social media antics, clarity.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: Same thing as a hangover and hangs out.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's just like, what have I done, sweet Jesus, what have I done?
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: Fives.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: And it makes me think, can you imagine every morning of Mona Van der Waals life waking up and like first split second having the, oh, I fucking God, what, what's next?
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: And I said, I'm really feels awesome.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_01]: I think the only time she's ever felt that.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_01]: there's two instances.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_01]: One, they after she had her and with her car.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_01]: I think that one she might have had given that some pause.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_01]: That one might have been a tough one to wake up too.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_01]: And the second is like maybe if there was a night.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, there's three.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe there was a night where she couldn't quite remember which phone she.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: Oh God.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_01]: In the third night.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_01]: And we actually saw the exact moment this happened was when a left their dropped their phone.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_01]: after Hannah hit A with her car and the phone falls out of the pocket and I come to me or doesn't want to come and like jump her basically.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_01]: No, we see A come back to the car looking for the phone or like getting back in the car and like doing like the dad pat of all their pockets.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_01]: And then they start like punching the top of the car.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: Let's still angry.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: And this is why we need to see look you do remember some stuff about the show.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: I just watched that.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: There we go.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: There it is.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: Today guys we're going to go through and highlight some of our all time favorite episodes.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: And I I at first thought we would just do top three is but that proved to be way too difficult.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: So I do some honorable mentions.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: But we're going to go through what happened, why there are favorites, what was significant, and dive back into some of this.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: And I mean, some of these episodes were literally chock-full of just bonkers moments that I'm going to be remiss, not sure you visit.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, well, do you want to start?
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: Do you want me to start?
- 4:09[SPEAKER_01]: I'll start because I think that I'm a very good place to start and that's what the pilot was.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, I'm not that, sorry, didn't mean that.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's just because I was going to do the pilot and I was like, one of us is going to do it and if one of us doesn't, then one of us will still mention it.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_01]: But like, the pilot is a perfect episode of television and I don't know how many times we have to say it, but like truly, I think we said it the first time we ever did it was just like,
- 4:31[SPEAKER_01]: We go through every girl.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's the perfect ratio of like getting the general story and then also having just a little bit of each girl's story But still not enough like you're still asking questions about what why did a text Hannah Person food makes you fast.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_01]: Why did it?
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: It's good.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_01]: Why is why does Emily want to make it out?
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: It's right.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's just what?
- 4:52[SPEAKER_00]: It's like talking like that.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think it's also, it does such a good job of giving you the exposition that you need and then creating the questions that they know they're going to be answering in the next few episodes.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: So they're like perfectly positioning certain lines to make you scratch your head and just offer that little bit of foreshadowing.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: That's a huge moment, obviously.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there's so many tie-ins.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: It's also got the perfect amount of drama and like action like we get the romance.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: You get this in a demon's area moments.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: Let me see, for them, for them, the Charlie's funeral, which is a crazy way to be ending it.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: Then we get that amazing ending with Willden in the song.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_00]: Detective Willden, is that right?
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like I've lost it.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_01]: No, that was it.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think you can lose that.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_00]: You know what, you're so good.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_00]: That's like a ton of rich bones.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, my bones, thank you.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: And even if you ever do lose it, it's going to be like, when Mariah Carey lip synced at the Vanguard Award.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever that means, what does that mean?
- 5:57[SPEAKER_01]: Why just mean like we're never gonna at home or I actually lost it.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, Moriah knows.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, oh, we don't have to know.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: Or do you think no one told me me?
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: No one told me me that you lost it actually and they just turned on the vocals and let her like sheet list you's fully singing but her mic was off.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: And though like if you were close enough, you're like wait, what is that?
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: Like you're a little bit of like horrible noise.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh, I saw the most like so this video today this little edit of weight for it of Ariana Grande and it was hers a kid singing her little wicked thing.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_01]: That video first thing you wicked and then there's that interview where she's like on Victoria's maybe it was even the 30th night war.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: Oh wicked is very different but that's the one but then there's one where she's younger and they're like would you ever do wicked and she like can't control how quickly she knocks her head.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: He's like in which of the two would you play and she's like
- 6:48[SPEAKER_01]: But then she kind of went into alphabet territory for a little bit, which I'm always like that was a video for singing was your was your boss Wizard of Oz, Wizard of Oz, right after Mac died And I the whole not the whole video obviously so much of it is obviously just about her, but I did have this moment of like She has had so much tragedy in her life and I do there's part of you as like imagine how happy and proud Mac Miller would be
- 7:17[SPEAKER_01]: to be seen her at this point in her life.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: Imagine seeing her be nominated for an Oscar for wicked of all things.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know that like she made him listen to that over and over and they would like a lot of people.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, for sure.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: And so just, you know, it's so, oh, anyway, back to that's by the way, we'll come back to Wicked in just a few moments, but Elamoc Numbers, version, production, so that's, you know what I'm talking about.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: We will be revisiting.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: And you trying to explain that?
- 7:51[SPEAKER_00]: Kind of impossible had to be there how you had to be there go listen to the app I don't know what to tell you and this is a great opportunity for anyone who's like Listening now or it's like, oh, I really want to like hear the origin story of element memories green hands or something like that We're revisiting a few of our favorites.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_00]: I'm oh mentioned will drop the lore and here So you can just go back you'll have that episode names you can go listen
- 8:11[SPEAKER_00]: you're welcome.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the pilot really is a perfect, perfect episode of television.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: I love how it opens.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_00]: Every photo from the pilot feels so nostalgic and like, oh my gosh.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_01]: the early seasons and I think most of my mentions are from like the seasons one and two me too feel like because it feel it has the same feel to it as go more girls so just the way it looks yeah so nostalgic and wonderful and I think they were still the only reason I think this is because they talked about this on the glee pod cast with Kevin
- 8:51[SPEAKER_01]: her last name served with you.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_01]: And they were talking about how their show is one of the last ones to be filmed on film.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_01]: And they were like, we can tell the exact moment we switched to digital.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_01]: And the way the things looked differently.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_01]: And because this is 2009, English started around the same time, I'm thinking there's a chance that this was also filmed on film.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_01]: And it's just like, I know it's expensive, guys.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but it looks so much
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I just, it gives, if you're doing a show that really is, is relying on the season fall, I think film is a must.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_01]: I do think that the summer I turned pretty would have killed.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_00]: That would have been gorgeous in film as well, but, but again, I still think like, because there's something so cozy about the grain and whatever, and that's where I feel like the fall.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why, like, even though the third Santa Claus is my favorite,
- 9:46[SPEAKER_01]: right back to Santa Claus.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_01]: The first and second.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_00]: Stay give you that nostalgic.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_01]: The same thing how a wean town.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I know it's exactly what I'm thinking.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_00]: It gave us a cozy holiday safe.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_01]: And then it's probably also partially because those kinds of movies and those seasons are like.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_01]: more memorable than maybe this season that came out in the spring or the summer, so they feel like we're attaching it to the holidays and everything like that.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, anyway.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_00]: I also just think with pretty little liars, like, you know, there's been a lot of discourse online about
- 10:21[SPEAKER_00]: did Marlene try to outdo Sarah Shepard did she try to you know make her version of the story better than Sarah's and it's like this is a detestiment to it's just a real story you know they mean like the world that Sarah Shepard created here the books that she wrote the character she created
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: That's where the magic really is and that is what was able, like they caught that magic put it into those first two seasons and then it allowed them to continue on for five more seasons without necessarily recreating exactly that feeling but just because they started off so strong with that and it's like I don't I think it's such a testament to Sarah and like it would be cool if in like
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: Again, we've said this about a original sin before.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was just too close and it didn't need to be pretty little iris, but especially it was just like two There hasn't been enough distance from the original show.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_01]: I really think that in like 15 or 20 years The equivalent of ABC family whatever it is then will be a they it would be cool to see them actually maybe tackle the books
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that would it would be me or again.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: I do like the idea of doing like a feature film sort of thing, but it's like, yeah, these are not mutually exclusive.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, sorry, sorry.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_00]: I do feel if original sin had not been branded pretty little liars.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: It might have had more legs and might have gone farther.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: I agree.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_00]: It's because they've really tried to like latch on to the pretty little liars fan, based on we were like, well, that's not what that is.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_00]: Like this is like slasher 80s, whatever.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think we loved about pretty good layers, you know?
- 12:01[SPEAKER_01]: Especially the fans that are really putting their time and energy into the show.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: They're protective of the source material.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_01]: So it was like, well, we will be here for it.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_01]: But the things that everybody got most excited about was like, a radly mention.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_00]: Or adventure.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Dr. Sullivan.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I'm just like you guys kind of you didn't have to.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, even if they had just made the same thing happen with perfectionists.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and Ravens would.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't watch either of it.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_00]: Isn't like, and raising wood, we do not talk about enough.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: I raise and wood was like actually just such a missed opportunity.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_00]: Don't you think?
- 12:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's just like, yeah, I think that they kind of...
- 12:45[SPEAKER_01]: Not in my world, not not where I'm going to be.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_01]: Not in my world, not in the world I'm living in, but like it did kind of probably taint part of the story.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like the fact that Emerson ends up where it ends up.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's just like,
- 13:01[SPEAKER_00]: Why is it worth taking the risk of like I just come up with something completely different and never or never have Sorry you guys will hate this or never have emissing happen.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 13:14[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry never have it be realized to give Emily somebody that is gonna love her the way she deserves to be loved and isn't attached to all this fucking you're just trauma bonded and then they get divorced like
- 13:25[SPEAKER_00]: Emily deserves better.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_01]: Like Emily just repeated the get the short end of the second that way and just because she ended up with Ali doesn't mean she got the best person, you know I don't even mean like I For me that my issue with the divorce more so is like it could've just been like we never see Emily You are plenty of significant others that we never see in the show very much and yeah and or I don't know it doesn't have to be Allison.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I know she's the one that signed on to it, but like yeah
- 13:55[SPEAKER_01]: There was enough time where it was like everybody was I don't think they could have been able to plan it like we're gonna have perfectionists So let's not make MSN happen.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_00]: I think it was because I think if Shay Mitchell said yes, they would have been like, how yeah, I think so, too But the God that of what I mean, I just sort of love to know what that conversation was like, because why You know, I'm always trying to first Weird anyway, um, okay, do you have anything else to add or the pilot?
- 14:23[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_00]: Well, we don't need to do this inopsis for that one because we literally just did it, but are we doing synopsis for the others?
- 14:31[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see how it goes.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_00]: What's your next one?
- 14:35[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_00]: I'll go.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_00]: I'll try to go as much in order as they can.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_00]: Where's my other one?
- 14:44[SPEAKER_00]: Where's my other one?
- 14:47[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, um season one episode 10 keep your friends close.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_00]: Let me tell you guys a little bit about this this episode Okay, this is the one where we get Camp Mona and I actually when I was first choosing my favorite episodes Every single one was like super Mona Center, so I did add in some others, but like
- 15:08[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_00]: She is my favorite character through and through besides Hannah, but like for a completely different reason.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_00]: It's sort of like the same way that I love um, Broadway and in real house, I just all like city, and I also love uh, like a Brittany or an Angie, and it's like, I don't, I'm not comparing them in any way.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_00]: My love for them is completely just like, they can both, they cannot do my favorites.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 15:31[SPEAKER_00]: Not really Brittany, but you know what I mean?
- 15:32[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying that.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know who would hate what I'm about to say the person that's about Brittany is kind of entering into the space Lisa occupied First of all one through four for iconic one liner is in like full delusion that just works exactly and it's just like it's campion.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's funny and she
- 15:56[SPEAKER_01]: isn't fucked up the way that Lisa is I did for we forgot to mention on Tuesday the part of the episode where Whitney is talking and Brittany comes over to Whitney and gives her a hug.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_01]: Whits says not ready for it yet but we got to talk through this and then when you bring me up to what he says okay but like I still would like in college for the dick sucking comment.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_00]: and everyone goes, what the heck everyone's been like it's just, and that is where it's like, there's not a malicious bone in Britney's body, which is what makes her so likable, whereas if Lisa, I'm like, you're iconic, but you're a mean girl.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I don't think Britney's a mean girl.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think she, you know what I mean?
- 16:44[SPEAKER_00]: Like, she's genuinely, she got a heart of gold.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_00]: Like, and that's part of why I can root for her, and like, like, her on my show.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_00]: On my show.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, so back to Mona.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_00]: But that's sort of how I feel about like the Mona versus Hannah of it all.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I'm not, I don't love them for the same reason.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: So they can both do my favorite.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_01]: Right, exactly exactly.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_00]: So Mona invites every single girl, all the liars, to her party.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_00]: And let's not forget the moment when she gives the girls the invitations.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_00]: And they're like basically squatting it out of her hand.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not fucking going to that.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Arya May is well throw up.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_00]: Are you my little throw up and say what makes you think I would come to your party like it's sensors like the woods like there They're like not happening in hand.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_00]: I was like come on guys like I really think it's great that she invited you I want my two friend groups to merge and this is like a sad episode for Hannah because she realizes that she can't have one without having any other She can't have Mona without having her BFFs to like it's I mean she can't have one and the other I mean it's always like the sea saw their friendships.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_00]: Okay
- 17:40[SPEAKER_00]: So, the party ends up being a scavenger hunt for A, so the girls now all have to go and I love the idea that Mona was like, okay, the girls were not overjoyed at getting my invitations, and I wasn't planning on making this an A event, but like I need to ensure they'll be there, they are the egg girls of the school, they are whoever wants talking about, okay, it's a scavenger hunt bitches, and like that's how she gets them there, like that.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_01]: Well, Ann never forget how she disinvites him.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I'm getting, oh, I'm getting there.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_00]: Um, sorry.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_00]: So this is also when we get the poor marins, uh, literally poor marins thing.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_00]: And it's known as birthday monas like, come on, we're skipping school and going shopping and going to reef ghost and Hannah's like,
- 18:17[SPEAKER_00]: Mona, we're fucking broke, and Ashley gives her her last $100 bill, and it's the episode where Ashley steals the money from us as a potter.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_00]: So that's a crazy fucking episode.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_00]: Arya is in her single mom who works two jobs, Sarah, because Ella's Audi, and so Arya is like doing all the laundry.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, yes, I do the cooking, yes, I do the cooking environment.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, can you help me?
- 18:37[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, little dad!
- 18:38[SPEAKER_00]: Byron!
- 18:39[SPEAKER_00]: Like she has had it with Byron.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_00]: Um, we get the Ian Spencer flashback in the kiss reveal.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_00]: We find out that they had a relationship.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_00]: We didn't find that out until then.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_00]: Um, no last area out and Ezra starts freaking out and being so fucking pissed off about it.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_00]: And this is also in Ezra's poem.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, let's say called B 52. 26.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_00]: gets published in R.A.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_00]: every day and then storms in his classroom and noils in there.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_00]: Hannah has to blow Mona off because the cops show up to the school to question her, so she doesn't get to go to lunch with her, so that's why Mona unenvite her.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_00]: And Mona also shirts a rumor that she got liposuction and they have a girl come up to Hannah and say who is your doctor?
- 19:18[SPEAKER_00]: Do you have recommendation?
- 19:20[SPEAKER_01]: Just make it pop, show it up.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_01]: Mona makes a peculiar comment where she says, I was having three almonds a day, and you were getting lipos.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, Mona, you were a fat camp with me.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_00]: Mona, all the flash packs I've seen of you, you just look like a freaking nerd.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_00]: But you're, you're gonna shrimp, not gonna lie.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_00]: Like a shrimp that was getting stuffed in lockers, puny lie.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, you're puny to be honest.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_00]: So Ella has her fucking green payment moment.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_00]: In this episode, we have a lot going.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_00]: And we get the close-up of Ella and says they're like, holding Arias and she just fucking has the baby.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, I've been painting a lot.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I've got my groove back.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I love it.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_00]: I love my own space.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_00]: And it's like, don't lie.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_00]: Even painting what?
- 20:06[SPEAKER_00]: Your body with green paint for what?
- 20:09[SPEAKER_00]: the local community theater nationals were a bucket they said we couldn't have a local unpaid national tour community production of wicket but they lied because they don't want it pretty little eyes and that side of the show's amazing that's what it's like do the impossible you know what I mean then we also get Toby gets arrested he gets like framed and like he gets stuck at the right because Emily tells everybody and also does everybody the general was like fully molesting Toby we also find out in this that Spencer's 16 years old
- 20:37[SPEAKER_00]: which tells me that when the e-in thing happened, she's either 14 or 15.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_00]: They like try their hardest never to lay common on how old the girls are, and this episode they let us know, hey, spends a 16 and I was like, god, maybe you shouldn't have the cat should get that one to yourself.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_00]: I should get that one to the writer's room.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_00]: How is this not going to be one of my favorite episodes ever?
- 21:01[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's so good.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_00]: Can't Mona, it's in the blue outs.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_01]: Lame of the episode isn't just can't not.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I didn't even say it's right.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_00]: Mona hits Hannah with her car and we get it together.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_00]: I see you moment in the window when also, and I was looking for some discourse online about this episode.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_00]: And a lot of people were like, OK, but can we talk about how all of the girls, even Hannah, who was disinvited from this party, are searching for a clues.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_00]: They are like doing a scavenger hunt there.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_00]: get a lipson by the way, know us throughout, and she said yes.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_00]: So now you're too tired too.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_00]: You're too.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_01]: You're actually too timing now as well, which is in its way.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_01]: Or is exactly who we say she is?
- 21:44[SPEAKER_00]: Like, she is such a male-centered character, whether it's her dad or a asra or an older, whoever.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_00]: And we're herself and her master.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_00]: And really, then she says she's like, she's a self-centered or male-centered.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, absolutely.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_00]: She could just feel more comfortable in like a men's button down than I do like lingerie.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_00]: Like she's like a men's button down on like some crew socks like I think I don't know the sex years I was right that my brain every time they're having like conversations we never see like real friendship conversations between the four of them are you talking and Emily's role in her eyes but you're talking work work now I love that because yeah me too anyway so I think that episode is amazing and you know one thing I keep getting confused in my head is I keep seeing the image of Mona driving the car as I
- 22:29[SPEAKER_00]: in tandem with how do we not see a hit by the car how do we not see it well that's after that's why oh right no no I mean how did they not see it what the headlights they probably have those fucking LED headlights that you can't see shit with right right right the the high be right but also I'm like Hannah people thought that reference last week thank you do you ever commented that what right right
- 22:55[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't you ever had a crispy cream.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, someone did like that one.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_00]: Um, one more thing to like Hannah You're my girl and I'm not trying to victim blame You froze you froze you look you know girls in the girls were like Hannah get out of like every home It's again, but I am like okay, are you jumping jump and grab Hannah and pull her out of the oh, you weren't there only Are you?
- 23:17[SPEAKER_00]: Well, are you?
- 23:18[SPEAKER_00]: I was kind of the one that I would have been comfortable with getting hit
- 23:22[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just saying if someone had two, I'm just saying if someone had two, I'm just saying if someone had two, I'm just saying if someone had two, I'm just saying if someone had two, I'm just saying if someone had two, I'm just saying if someone had two, I'm just saying if someone had two, I'm just saying if someone had two, I'm just saying if someone had two, I'm just saying if someone had two, I'm just saying if someone had two, I'm just saying if someone had two, I'm just saying if someone had two, I'm just saying if someone had two, I'm just saying if someone had two, I'm just saying if someone had two, I'm just saying if someone had two, I'm just saying if someone had two, I'm just saying if someone had two, I'm just saying if someone had two, I'm just saying if someone had two, I'm just saying if someone had two, I'm just saying if someone had two, I'm just saying if someone had
- 23:44[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, do you know please will you be there?
- 23:46[SPEAKER_00]: Please can you be there?
- 23:47[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, you're gonna eat your cameo.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_01]: I just looked on Cameo again for the dinner putterscotch.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_01]: Oops!
- 23:53[SPEAKER_01]: Not there.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_00]: What is she up to these days?
- 23:55[SPEAKER_00]: Watch her just being a normal last one.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's what she's actually an FBI agent.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_00]: And that's how we can't find her.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_00]: Of course.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I just love any episode that also has a little bit of a glam aspect, which the blowout tent, I mean, doesn't get much more glam than that.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_00]: So epic.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_01]: My next one is going to be the naked truth episode 2019.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_01]: This is when we find out that Emily has a projector in her chest.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, with the nude of Kate, Hannah's evil steps and stuff.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so Hannah, Kate's come to school and she decides to, I actually don't know if this is all fully this episode, but I wanted to pick an episode where Kate isn't it?
- 24:43[SPEAKER_01]: So that, like, we can just talk about this whole thing, where Kate decides to send a Photoshop nude picture for herself.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_01]: to everybody in the school, somehow from Hannah's home.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_00]: The fact that this wasn't A. Also, I know, it was, it was like, I'm sorry, this lightning really strike the same tweet, tweet.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_00]: It's lightning really strike the same tweet twice.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but like that's why she's having his voice.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_00]: Because why is this happening?
- 25:15[SPEAKER_00]: Anna, when like she's already being stopped, it's like a mess right now.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_00]: You need her to do it too.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_01]: There are two universal truths that you realize when you go back and watch the show.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_01]: Hannah gets the shorten to the stick every every everything that happens to her is worse tenfold than what it is and almost never her phone and two the other universal truth that you find is that Arya is as bad as you think she is.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, anytime you like you try to go into an episode and you're like I'm gonna give Arya the benefit of the dowel.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm just so like I'm so used to being Caroline having to get on a microphone and be mean about this girl.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, I'm gonna watch it from an objective perspective.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and then
- 25:53[SPEAKER_01]: You are watching it from an objective perspective, and she's still the meanest, rudist, no selfish person alive.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, I mean, she really is the truth is, are you didn't have to be a to be the worst character in the biggest villain on the show?
- 26:10[SPEAKER_00]: She still is, even though it wasn't her.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_00]: Don't argue about that.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_00]: You can't win.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_01]: What else happens in this episode?
- 26:17[SPEAKER_01]: Let me see.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, this is where Arya thinks that Holden, um, oh, because this, okay, this whole episode is when they do that weird thing where they, it's like that truth thing where they're all locked in the school for however long and Ashley Marin and Kate Smallmer having to help host Jason is like confronting VV about being, oh my god, Peter's son and then there's all that happening and then we get that scene where Caleb is in the same room with
- 26:48[SPEAKER_01]: I think Ari, it's also in this room in Jenna and Noel, and Jenna mentions getting slapped by Hannah, and Caleb goes, Mrs. Hastings, are we telling the whole truth?
- 26:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's just the version of who's we want to remember.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_01]: It's like he goes and then Mrs. Hastings, and then he finishes and he goes, and hey Jenna, this is Caleb speaking.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_00]: I love when they do that, but I just love how hard Caleb rides for his bitch complimentary.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_00]: I, I love it.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_00]: Like, he, it's non-stop, and it's another one of these episodes.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if it's when I chose or if it's an honorable mention, but...
- 27:27[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no, I did choose it where he like from the fucking get go you guys he shows up for Hannah the only reason that he was ever with Spencer is because Hannah didn't want him like that because he thought that because she was engaged and he thought that there was no hope he wasn't like with Spencer after he and Hannah broke up.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_00]: It was like not until he came back and found out she was engaged just saying and if I have to tell myself to sleep at night, and that's just what I have to tell myself.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_01]: And then we get a, we get a little montage of what everybody was writing and they're invisible ink markers and that's where we see the infamous, the infamous my parents are a literate.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, now now seven seasons and knowing what we know who wrote that actually who wrote that.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_00]: Emily?
- 28:17[SPEAKER_00]: No, Emily's not writing that about Wayne.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I think it's Arya, I think it's going to save the Arya wrote that because she's like honestly, I can't believe my dad's a professor, Hollis.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_00]: I understand my mom's a history teacher because she can't fucking read her right, like, oh my god.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, not that history.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_00]: He just came here right, but it's more, it's more, it's more, it's more, it's more, it's more, it's just all, it's that Arya said, not me as Arya said.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and she's just like, oh, if only like my parents would get it, they'd get what I'm going through.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_00]: They'd get me and my boy toy being together.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_00]: If they were
- 28:51[SPEAKER_00]: So I'll be saying like because me and Ezra like put us together, wow, whoo, whoo, head explodes magic made sparks fly, shows on your back.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_00]: That's not what he's just about to answer, huh?
- 29:02[SPEAKER_00]: He's like, we're together, and when we're doing wordplay, it's like, oh my god, all the eras got stuck out of the room, I'm late headed, like that's how it feels.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_00]: I never felt like that out of family dinner with him, I remember that.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_00]: Or don't even get to start out like, so my, I've never even heard my talk before and he just grunts and steal shit by the way.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that was him.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, if anything is gone missing in your house, it's time my kid brother.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_01]: What else happens is episode will we get?
- 29:29[SPEAKER_01]: Um,
- 29:31[SPEAKER_01]: We get the the step up when when Ashley Marin is like step up a few of her had XYZ happen and she and Emily will like take two steps because like she's been bullied twice or whatever and Ashley goes Emily one step at a time
- 29:46[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, in this.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_01]: He's a Sasha.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_01]: And then Emily is one of these moments where she, like, one of those very few moments, especially early Emily where she decides to like stick it to the man and she's like, and Mr. Tamburalli, the principal at the time, is standing there and she's like, people in this school feel uncomfortable and like, oh, this stuff.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_01]: And then Mr. Tamburalli goes, Emily, a word.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_01]: And then Emily goes over to Mr. Tamburalli.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, have you ever thought, taken a second to think that maybe
- 30:19[SPEAKER_01]: And it's funny because that's kind of what Emily I think is mainly talking about, and it's because this is around the time that A framed them with a shovel.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_00]: Wait, that is so funny because it reminds me the other moment later when Hannah and Emily are learning the dance and the beauty page and textures like, this is not for people like you and Emily's like, and what the fuck does that mean?
- 30:45[SPEAKER_00]: And Ellie's like, oh, so funny, I love when they liked that.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_01]: And that, that then leads Mona to help Emily blackmail the principle.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_00]: Right, of course.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_00]: Because it's like, that is what you would do, and that's the way she blackmail your principle.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_01]: Totally totally.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_01]: Let me just make sure I covered everything that really matters, that really matters.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_01]: Um, well, obviously we end up finding out that this was a Photoshop picture of Kate because we see Kate lift up her flash everybody and we're not that good And what's what's sweet about Anna is that she didn't even mean it in terms of like no BMI she meant it in terms of You have a birthmark.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you're birthmark like they shit.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_00]: What did I just quit?
- 31:32[SPEAKER_00]: Super star.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_00]: Have you seen it?
- 31:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, you should have seen you reenact and did you see the video over an A-Rap saying she's basically never seen any movie except Twilight
- 31:47[SPEAKER_01]: No, how's that video?
- 31:48[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_00]: How is it?
- 31:50[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_00]: Go fuck yourself.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_00]: How is literally anything relevant that we talked about this whole day?
- 31:54[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_00]: But I've been confused about it.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_00]: Because I just was like have you seen it and I'm thinking about how people are roasting her because they're like, and this is why her music sounds like that.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_00]: And this is like, oh my god.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_00]: This is so embarrassing for her to admit.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_00]: She doesn't seem to be these movies.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_00]: Like it's not cool or not.
- 32:08[SPEAKER_00]: But the parents will be like, sure.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_00]: Super.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_01]: The most likeable, she's ever been, is when she did that celebrity substitute.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: Have you seen it?
- 32:17[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, substitute now.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_01]: There's the same guy who does recess therapy.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_01]: He does this thing called celebrity substitute, where a celebrity will come in and substitute to class.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's a little thing.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_01]: Not like for real, but like kids will come in and then they'll make a kid from the version of one of their songs, so leave me alone, they did.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_01]: And she is, and she's really good with the kids, because here's why people like we're nay are good with kids because they treat kids like adults and kids love that kids are obsessive and you just act like they're like one of you and they will warm up to you immediately this is the moment you go, how
- 33:02[SPEAKER_00]: They're like okay, you're weird.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_00]: Like that's like Zola just like Zola with with Deluca and guys not a man, of course.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I mean something I'm working on with Anthony Because he doesn't really know how to talk to kids and so it's like I'll come out But I do see that if he's able to if he's able to nail it if he's able to just actually add the knee
- 33:21[SPEAKER_00]: I know, but he wants them to like him so bad and he like tries and it comes so natural, but I'm like I spend a lot It's like it comes very naturally to me and he'll be like oh great now you're the favorite and I'm like well Yeah, and I probably was gonna be anyway because I'm a girl and and I just know like what kids like Like I know what I know what to bring up like if I like to say as your hair looks like Elsa and do like a pop demon hunters and pretty much the favorite person
- 33:48[SPEAKER_01]: Honey Hill, so yeah, and then um yeah, we have to find out that Kate's a fucking liar And then the next episode after this is when so or no, it's actually when they're all sitting there after Hannah realizes that she's a birthmark on her right side She goes does anybody have that picture and Emily was yeah, I have right here Before the words are even out And oh, it's actually my background wait, you don't want me to say that.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, um, I think Emily might have it
- 34:19[SPEAKER_01]: All right, it's like I saw Emily staring at it during class earlier, but the way we we we see this The ambush is it's a classic bathroom reversal because normally the girls are the ones getting snuck up on in the bathroom But this time it's Hannah and Kate and then already a box out of the stall Because in Emily say hey can I borrow your phone?
- 34:38[SPEAKER_01]: Are you anxious?
- 34:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, just give me a second once I'm done recording this conversation
- 34:46[SPEAKER_00]: And they all like slam up with the bathrooms and all the words oh, it's so good.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_00]: They mean business.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_00]: What can I say?
- 34:51[SPEAKER_00]: They mean business.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, that's that person.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, that's good.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_00]: That's one of the deep code.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_00]: Kind of a deep code.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_00]: Well, this one is not going to be a deep code.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_00]: This one is probably pretty obvious and it wouldn't be shocked if you did it too, but our season two finale on mass.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_00]: Did you do it too?
- 35:07[SPEAKER_00]: Mine two.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_00]: How could it not be?
- 35:09[SPEAKER_00]: It is genuinely like,
- 35:11[SPEAKER_00]: I know we get a zillion A reveals and we haven't gotten to the ultimate reveal.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this is the ultimate.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_00]: It could have stopped after season four.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, like season five, I guess.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like, because this A, Mona as A and then the aftermath of Mona as A is television gold.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_00]: Like, it is so good.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_00]: Janelle Parish absolutely kills it as both A, Mona and regular Mona.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_00]: And then rather, you know, all the different versions of Mona that we see.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_01]: that scene where she is sitting in the in the police department out of words and she says the the liars are going to go home and leave their windows open and the doors unlocked.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_00]: Don't they know that's what we want?
- 35:54[SPEAKER_00]: So this episode, I guess there are a ton of references to Hitchcock's Psycho.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_00]: which I didn't realize is one of Arlene King's favorite movies, so there are references throughout, but this episode specifically, a shower for sure.
- 36:07[SPEAKER_00]: Where we have the shower scene, the motel, uh, Mona's horror, all that the very end.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_00]: Pretty herald.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, creepy heralds, and this one guys.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_00]: And also, one of my honorable mention ones, I think, or is it?
- 36:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think it's my honorable mention when it's where Mona like tells everybody that she thought creepy hero was enter her after like they've met at the last was resort and like she turned him down.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_00]: So he got a job at Rosewood High School and now he's stalking her, but so she knows everybody he's so good.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, there are a bunch of these references in that ending mode, uh, Mona log.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, the ending mode, a log is one of those.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_00]: It's like a reference.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_00]: Um, it's also a really big Melmo suspicious episode which we happen to love.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_00]: This whole thing takes place obviously our masquerade ball Where we know the Melissa's gonna be dressed as the black swan when Hannah kind of looks like Hillary dolphin another story.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_00]: I loved Hannah's whole luck I loved all the girls like and now is this now that's homecoming where Emily is like in the maze, right?
- 37:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, when Toby gets some.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, yeah, yeah, those always went together for me.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_00]: So this is the one where like they're really there because they believe that Melissa is a they believe she's a black swan.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_00]: They're trying to find her at this mastery dance.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously wordplay with the title being unmasked of course with that capital.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, we love to see it.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_00]: And we see Spencer and Mona heading out, and they go to the last words, Resort, and Spencer finds the A-layer.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_00]: And this is our first, I think our first real glimpse, I'm not just like a piece of the A-layer, but the entire thing, realizing it's at the last word's motel.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_00]: And then Mona walking in behind Spencer, and we just get that awesome shot of Spencer's face.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_00]: And what does it like, did you find any gum,
- 37:46[SPEAKER_00]: What is it?
- 37:47[SPEAKER_00]: What is the line?
- 37:48[SPEAKER_01]: They walk in and they're both like hanging out in there for a while where they're looking through all this stuff together.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_01]: And then, Mona, eventually off hit it.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's just trying to notice things.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because we're sweaters and things like that, but she's not putting it together yet.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_01]: And then Mona offers her a piece of gum.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_01]: And Spencer says no.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_01]: And then she really, she starts to be like, wait, maybe this is Mona.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_01]: And then she's like, actually can't I have that.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_01]: And Mona has to go back to the car for more.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yes.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_01]: And she says, I found the gum.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_00]: So good.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_00]: Spencer then gets knocked out by Mona.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_00]: We love a Mona.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_00]: It always sucks.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_01]: It always forgot that that happened.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_01]: I know, I know, but it's so good.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_00]: I know.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_01]: And not that I would ever be in a villainous position where I would have to knock someone over the head with anything.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_01]: How are you so sure they're going to wake back up?
- 38:38[SPEAKER_00]: That's not my question.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_00]: How do you not kill them?
- 38:41[SPEAKER_01]: How do you not guarantee me?
- 38:42[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know my own strength.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_00]: I know it clearly.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, but beloved never got it before, but monopropi has.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_00]: Mona's actually probably tested it to see how hard she can hit for them to at least go unconscious but not die.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 38:55[SPEAKER_00]: But also, this is a scene I remember us saying we wanted more of.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_00]: I want to see how then Mona got Spencer into that car because I know Spencer's dead weight.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_00]: She's like 100% muscle.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_00]: I know that she was not easy to drag into that car, Mona, and get her damn seat belt on.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_00]: And then they wake up in the car and Spencer and Mona's driving and not to make it that awesome shot of Mona through the windshield that I always picture with the Hannah being hit scene.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_00]: and I love I mean Spencer being smart calling but just such a heartbreak for Hannah and we almost get Hannah running in Amona which is in Amona screams yeah and then Mana falls off the cliff fucking crazy and and then what yeah does end with her at the PlayStation it's such a good reveal they did it so many episodes perfect and they can't imagine watching it
- 39:43[SPEAKER_01]: Like, in real time, not knowing.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I'm not going to go back.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think I really locked in after this.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I think I was old enough that I could be like, actually watching that.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_01]: So I think I knew that it was Mona.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think I ever got that like unadultered.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_00]: Ah, that's a bummer.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_00]: I wish I had like wipe my brain.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't just go watch the first two seasons.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_01]: But the closest thing you can get is just watching it with someone who's never seen the show.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_00]: True, true.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_00]: Or doing a podcast where you get to just like really expand on these moments and make them brand new.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_00]: I guess, but you're never going to get that high again.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's true, true.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I feel about it because this is one of your episodes you want to mention an honorable mention one.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_01]: Um, for whom the bell tolls, I believe that's the season one finale, and that's when E&I's.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, um, that one's cooking creepy.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_00]: That was one that really gave me the creeps, because you see his body hanging and then his body is gone.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_00]: And then all the girls and I fucking liars in the police go to the church.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_01]: And this is where we meet Jackie Molina, of course, of course we meet Jackie Molina and what else should we go here.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_01]: break up.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, look, break up.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, wait for my phone.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_01]: No, but then, but then, I think it's, it's the, it's the aftermath of that.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_00]: And then we see when Lucas brings Caleb back in the car, which like you love so much, but let's not forget that that's when Lucas decided he was going to take all Caleb's money and gamble it away.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_00]: Lucas was not trying to be creepy at that time.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_01]: No, it was sweet.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, and then Emily's like, oh my god, I'm moving to Texas, can't believe it.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_01]: And this is where we meet Logan Reed from for my last episode and forgot who he is again.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_01]: Melissa and Spencer got into a car accident and the only reason I love this episode so much and why it made the list.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_01]: And it is an honorable mention.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_01]: I think now that I'm really reading into it, but
- 41:47[SPEAKER_01]: Um, is the way that they do the last scene, it mirrors the way that the last scene or the pilot is, where they're outside of the church.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's a different church, but it's meant to be the same one.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's just the pilot church is different.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_00]: It's not the same song.
- 41:59[SPEAKER_00]: It's not the same song.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_01]: And they're coming out and then Barry, the cop comes out and he's like,
- 42:06[SPEAKER_01]: There's no body is this a prank.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, he's so mad.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_00]: He's so mad.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_01]: And there's like everyone's in and you see Melissa kind of like turn around and like everyone's like sorry.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_00]: These girls are pretty little liar's a
- 42:31[SPEAKER_00]: Mom would have had a field day with these girls like if the issue is like, and now I have a fake body.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_01]: Like, oh my god mom would say she hates them, but she would be like wanting us to go to their parties or like befriended one of the moms which mom would our mom be friends with Ashley and Pam
- 42:49[SPEAKER_00]: I think in VV, yeah, I mean, Ella is not even on the list.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_00]: She's not even on Mom's radar, really.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_01]: And when she is, when they run into each other at the coffee tree, it's not enjoyable for either of them.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_00]: No, no.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_00]: And Ella also can't stand our mom.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_00]: I think I'm gonna say VV Pam and Ashley, but more so, Pam and Ashley.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_00]: Cause I just think VV doesn't have that much time for friends.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_01]: Right, but VV can hang VV like every time she's like, yeah, if she's if she gets it and Pam if Pam mom and Ashley are going to get dinner Yeah, and it comes up that VV's free.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_00]: They're like can VV tag along to mom and also of course I feel like I feel like they'll even like put her in the group text, but they also have a separate room text It's just mom Ashley and Pam you know what I mean and then because also like Emily and Hannah so that makes no sense but then like
- 43:44[SPEAKER_00]: They also have a group next to the VV were like, they'll put out the field but sometimes they're like, it's just gonna be us girls But then well, but I bet VV gets really a drum can talk so much shit on daddy Hastings that they're like, well We could just use a little bit T-times tonight.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to Hula hands and we're inviting VV Imagine this shit she talks about the deal of emphasis.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_00]: Oh
- 44:04[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it would be rich and in the art of the day that he learned it says.
- 44:07[SPEAKER_00]: Guys, is that point of truth?
- 44:08[SPEAKER_00]: Has heard the scene, if these walls could talk, if these walls could talk, if these could talk, no, literally, literally, I bet some of the conversations that that booth has already heard have been akin to what it would be if a farm armor meeting.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, certainly.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_00]: But I do.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_00]: I do 100% think you're right.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_00]: And she and Pam are probably the most like.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_00]: Then they're the most aligned, I think, yeah.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_00]: We're parenting style in every later, later, later, later, later.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_00]: We'd be like, so careful.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_00]: Just to be clear.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_00]: OK, well, I'm going to go into my final favorite, OK?
- 44:42[SPEAKER_00]: And then we'll go through a few honorable mentions if you have time.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_00]: season two episode six never letting go.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_00]: Our fashion show from hell.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_00]: There's episode is also just one of those classic ones in my mind.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_00]: I just love it.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_00]: So we get a few things.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_00]: Number one, we start on that scene with all the girls in the bed sharing secrets in Hannah tells the girls for the first time that she kissed Caleb, but she's not calling him her boyfriend yet.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_00]: And this is the episode where
- 45:10[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they're just some of the beginning phases of their romance, and he still shows up for her because she tells him basically do not show up with this fashion show Don't cut it so Caroline coded like she's like don't come don't come and then he goes anyway, and he's all dressed up
- 45:26[SPEAKER_00]: He's all just up in the knee walks her home and like he doesn't even supposed to be there like and she's having such a rough night because her dad is back in town fully cheating on Whatever his woman's name is Kate's mommy and he's like messing with Ashley Marins head and Hannah's like get the fuck out of my house I'm the man of this house now get out like I don't do this right mom.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna do this to me and don't Show up my fashion show, but he does
- 45:50[SPEAKER_00]: Arya this has been Arya and Jason are like will they won't they vibes which is inappropriate but weird and he like checks her when she's with the girls and she's like I am We'll be right back And she goes and like gets in his car with him and it's yes.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_01]: So weird Yeah, and this is either this is either and this is right after they they rekindle at the basketball Yeah, it is.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry imagine if one of the girls had to look out their window Arya and see you get into Jason's car
- 46:16[SPEAKER_00]: you fucking psycho.
- 46:17[SPEAKER_01]: So there's going to be like, why can't you ever just date in our age group?
- 46:21[SPEAKER_00]: The girls are already talking about you in Ezra and they're like, is this for real?
- 46:24[SPEAKER_00]: And now this spends just going to be like, you just don't get it.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_00]: You just don't get it.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, she's like, older man, I'm sorry, when you're a little bit more mature, like, Arya and I are.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you'll get it, order a matter more attractive for that reason.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_01]: And then Spencer goes to hang out with Arya later and she's like, I just like, this is why I just like hang out with you more sometimes.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_00]: This is why you and I, I mean, they're my, look, they're my besties, they're my besties for the resties.
- 46:44[SPEAKER_01]: But you're my girl.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_00]: But you're my, you're my, you're my soul name, you're like my soul sister.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, we're, we're just more aligned.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_00]: We just got each other and Arya's like, I've been saying that girl.
- 46:52[SPEAKER_01]: I've been saying that.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_01]: And I like don't care for them as much as you do.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_00]: She goes, you're the only motherfucker in the city.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_00]: You can handle these men's.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_00]: That's what she says.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Arya is going to a lower concert on October there.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_00]: Just like us, just like us.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_00]: I love him people comment they're like, oh my god, this is me realizing we were at the same era's show tour.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_00]: Era's tour.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_00]: Whoa.
- 47:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, if you go back and look at that episode, where we talked about going, people are commenting like, this is me finding out we were at the same one.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, which is kind of fun.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_00]: So if anyone's going to lower, tell us.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_00]: So Jessie then asked all the girls to read for lunch and it's like that awkward thing You're like they actually just he's not the currently a regular person in her lives that they're seeing So it's that awkward thing of like what the fuck and they all get a little bit of a moment is your dead daughter Yeah, so it's so weird in the girls feel so weird about it and at this time I think they still think that A is Alice in so they're like feeling extra weird and Jess gave them all the dresses that Ali had picked for them when she was alive
- 47:46[SPEAKER_00]: This is also, we get Emily and Samara and like some extreme chemistry between them.
- 47:51[SPEAKER_00]: We get the moment of Emily changing and Samara's like watching her in the mirror and helping or if there's straps, whatever, and it's like, can we just live in that romance for a little bit and instead of what we actually get in season two?
- 48:01[SPEAKER_00]: Then we get just a classic moment of Hannah dancing in the kitchen with her headphones on, which are some of my favorite Hannah moments.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_00]: I love to see my girl carefree living her best life, but she does get interrupted by her nasty faller.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_00]: And so obviously the girls put on the dresses, they walk the fashion show, and as they're walking, the gorgeous memorial photo of Allison in the back is replaced by like horrifying, heavy metal music.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's all red, there are flames, and over all these faces, it says evil, bitch, monster.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_00]: None of them is crazy.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_00]: And like, Jesse is obviously so horrified, but like, could you imagine for real?
- 48:40[SPEAKER_00]: That's so crazy.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_00]: And of course, the girls are on stage for it.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_00]: And they don't move.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_00]: And they just step mostly.
- 48:46[SPEAKER_00]: Arya stays up there.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, oh, this is like my moment.
- 48:50[SPEAKER_00]: At least I get a lot of moments.
- 48:52[SPEAKER_00]: I think she's got plenty.
- 48:53[SPEAKER_00]: I just have one.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_00]: And then they get the text from a saying my dresses, my game, my rules.
- 48:59[SPEAKER_00]: We also get no trying to blackmail Arya for like one of the first times, because he shows up with the disc that Mona had switched off because Mona was running me event and he shows up backstage and he's like, I can fucking ruin you and your friends with this and then Jason comes in, takes it out of his hands, breaks it in half and is like, say the fuck away from my girl.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_00]: and knows like your weird Montgomery is weird.
- 49:20[SPEAKER_00]: It's all weird.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_00]: It's all the first episode where you really see the rivalry between Mona and Spencer, which is obviously one for the ages.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_00]: They're rivalry rivals that of Allison and Spencer.
- 49:32[SPEAKER_01]: Don't you think, when Spencer lunged across that table?
- 49:35[SPEAKER_00]: That is one of my own or a little mention episodes here.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_00]: It's not this one, you know, right?
- 49:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I was just saying Jen was talking about their rival.
- 49:44[SPEAKER_00]: There is a moment where it's meant you're like, what desperately wants to get physical with Mona in this episode, when she realizes that Mona is like taking control of this entire event.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_00]: We also get one of the best songs in the Pretty Little Lyrs soundtrack playing for the second time.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_00]: Flaught.
- 49:57[SPEAKER_00]: It played in the first episode when Hannah is stealing sunglasses.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_00]: It's the don't.
- 50:01[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_00]: No, you won't, yes it is, don't you won't know what I'm talking about in Emily or in the bedroom.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_00]: It's also, I think it starts when Hannah's leaving.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_00]: It's not playing when Hannah's in the mall.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's something, no it's that, do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do
- 50:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_00]: Are those things happening simultaneously?
- 50:35[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_00]: This is also the first time we get Tresume product placement, fun fact.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't realize this before this episode.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_00]: They were doing all their Tresume ads in the commercial breaks and they were having Mona and Hannah in character doing the ads.
- 50:49[SPEAKER_00]: Which I want to find some of those on YouTube because I can't.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh, we didn't even mention from the season two finale.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_01]: that's when because I was thinking of other times we hear the same song and that's when we find one of my thoughts.
- 51:07[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you're right.
- 51:08[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, my God.
- 51:09[SPEAKER_00]: We can really forget that.
- 51:10[SPEAKER_00]: Wait, that's an unmasked.
- 51:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because when they're coming back from the police station, they're like, oh my gosh, we're gonna have such a good night here.
- 51:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was like aze out of here.
- 51:19[SPEAKER_01]: And then it's some of shame it was best acting.
- 51:21[SPEAKER_00]: No, it actually gives it to you, runs up at her mom.
- 51:24[SPEAKER_00]: And it's that moment who we're like, Pam is like, not on board at this time.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_00]: And she's trying to kill her.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_00]: This is gonna like, like, kill Emily.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_00]: Her love for her daughter supersedes whatever like prejudice she's feeling in that moment.
- 51:34[SPEAKER_00]: And she just is like there for Emily and Emily.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_00]: Falls into her arms, and it's just like so reminiscent of obviously when we found out about Ali's body and like you said the same It's a that call back as powerful What am I honorable mentions?
- 51:49[SPEAKER_00]: was season three episode 15, Mona Mania.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_00]: This is when I realized I had too many Mona episodes.
- 51:55[SPEAKER_00]: It's my favorites, but that's the one where Spencer loses the academic season three.
- 52:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's crazy that that story was Spencer so early.
- 52:03[SPEAKER_00]: Spencer doesn't really start doing drugs until a fourth season really, right?
- 52:06[SPEAKER_00]: That shouldn't she go as far end of third, and she's in Bradley beginning a fourth.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but this is when, but the why is she going so crazy right now?
- 52:17[SPEAKER_00]: I think because Mona just goes back.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_00]: But no, but she, no, I think that is what it is because Mona has just come back and they're like, how the fuck are you at school?
- 52:25[SPEAKER_00]: Mona's and I'll have to use a phone.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_00]: She's like literally not allowed to use a phone.
- 52:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but she's like, when you Mona's come back and relax with her.
- 52:32[SPEAKER_01]: That's when Spencer starts going fucking crazy.
- 52:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's this.
- 52:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but I think she's or she must be on drugs.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think she's like a no sleep.
- 52:40[SPEAKER_00]: This is when she has her moment with Andrea.
- 52:42[SPEAKER_00]: Oh.
- 52:44[SPEAKER_00]: I was thinking this is the one where she like does like strip.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's fitting with Andrea.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_00]: But then ran as long that takes her.
- 52:51[SPEAKER_00]: To the decathlon when she's supposed to be going somewhere else.
- 52:54[SPEAKER_00]: And that's when she attacks.
- 52:56[SPEAKER_00]: Mona.
- 52:56[SPEAKER_00]: She must already be right beyond it.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe.
- 52:59[SPEAKER_00]: But she tries to buy it from Andrea and Andrew's like girl.
- 53:01[SPEAKER_00]: What the fuck?
- 53:02[SPEAKER_00]: So I just feel like.
- 53:04[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, I needed to double-check that time.
- 53:06[SPEAKER_00]: That's also where we get, so that's where we get, Spencer literally throwing her catapulting her body over the table and choking Mona out on the ground, which is such a crazy, it's so good.
- 53:19[SPEAKER_00]: And then this is where we find out Mona has her hair old story, and this one.
- 53:23[SPEAKER_00]: It's also where, don't forget, like, the pipe bomb that went off during the race at the school that Lucas did over it.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_00]: And Meredith tries to pin it on the girls.
- 53:31[SPEAKER_00]: And this is when we find out about Ali and Byron and I think like shortly after this Meredith starts Oh, and this is a three is when it's just drugging area Oh, yeah, that's like the worst thing that happened to you get over it Other than being groomed She liked that apparently she's married him
- 53:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it's true.
- 53:51[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, guys.
- 53:52[SPEAKER_00]: That's just what happened.
- 53:53[SPEAKER_01]: She would probably say the same thing.
- 53:54[SPEAKER_01]: She is married to him.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 53:56[SPEAKER_01]: There's a trying to have a kid, you guys.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_01]: They were just trying to have a kid.
- 53:59[SPEAKER_00]: Hello.
- 54:00[SPEAKER_00]: Hello.
- 54:00[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 54:01[SPEAKER_00]: Other honorable mentions from you.
- 54:03[SPEAKER_01]: My other one was going to be welcome to the doll house.
- 54:07[SPEAKER_00]: I know that was on my list as well and I do think guys we are going to do a doll house episode but that requires like a lot of thought for us to get you how you do it.
- 54:15[SPEAKER_00]: And we're also going to do a never ending November episode.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_00]: Which also requires a lot of thought.
- 54:21[SPEAKER_00]: So those ones are coming but that doll house episode.
- 54:24[SPEAKER_00]: There's so much build up to it.
- 54:25[SPEAKER_01]: You guys see them getting taken from the van as close as feeling that we got to what we got when we first saw the A layer layer of the first time.
- 54:34[SPEAKER_01]: Because it's like, you really have to take a second to take it all in that they're in.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_00]: And they said we love that bone as alive.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 54:42[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, this should have been on my list.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_00]: This should have been actually on my list.
- 54:44[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's that's where we find out because they think it's Allison.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_00]: She's all dressed up like, ah, like Allison.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, well, this isn't one of my favorites, but I did like honorable mention moments.
- 54:55[SPEAKER_00]: Season five episode 21.
- 54:56[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna give you the title.
- 54:57[SPEAKER_00]: I want you to guess if you can guess what I'm referencing like what I'm getting at.
- 55:00[SPEAKER_00]: The title's bloody L.
- 55:04[SPEAKER_01]: Is it when Spencer puts your bag down at all?
- 55:07[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be fun.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_00]: Spencer's coming.
- 55:09[SPEAKER_00]: Got his Spencer's bag and Oxford.
- 55:12[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that is so fucking funny.
- 55:14[SPEAKER_00]: And Spencer says that someone look, I didn't eat a crayon.
- 55:17[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just dealing with some oversized toiletries right now.
- 55:19[SPEAKER_00]: I thought she got hers at all.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_00]: Another one that's on my honorable mention.
- 55:24[SPEAKER_00]: Do you have any more on yours?
- 55:26[SPEAKER_01]: No, that covered all mine.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I have a comment.
- 55:28[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I could think, but I was kind of overwhelmed thinking, trying to think through.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_00]: Gen, you really hard to think about.
- 55:33[SPEAKER_00]: So if you think of any as we're talking, you know, there are fewer boring episodes than there are.
- 55:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 55:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 55:39[SPEAKER_00]: And the episodes that would make this way.
- 55:40[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, no, these are actually jam packed.
- 55:42[SPEAKER_00]: Like these, like, it's like, there seems like there'll be one big thing that you'll remember from the episode, but then they're actually like six other really big things that happen.
- 55:50[SPEAKER_00]: They just don't stand out as much.
- 55:51[SPEAKER_00]: reality bites me season one episode five, which is one of our episodes that people really like, but that's where Spencer steals the AP Russian history essay, which I just do love that episode.
- 56:02[SPEAKER_00]: It's such a good golden onion.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_00]: It's such a good Hastings dynamic episode.
- 56:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's also like for Spencer to do this when Melissa is so fucking mad at her, because it's right after Melissa's wedding gets caught off because of Spencer and Ren.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_00]: And it's when Melissa goes, what about the florist?
- 56:17[SPEAKER_00]: Do I have to make that call?
- 56:18[SPEAKER_00]: It's like right after that, and Spencer's like, I'd rather eat where I'm one in, and she won't have breakfast in the kitchen.
- 56:23[SPEAKER_01]: She goes to the trash can with each, like, bridal and style.
- 56:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's one month.
- 56:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's one month.
- 56:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's one month.
- 56:29[SPEAKER_00]: There are a lot of Spencer.
- 56:31[SPEAKER_00]: Since she's like, I'm gonna leave, and they're like, no, you'll stay it.
- 56:34[SPEAKER_00]: It's so giving Georgia code.
- 56:35[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you're gonna leave.
- 56:36[SPEAKER_00]: No, you're gonna stay here.
- 56:37[SPEAKER_00]: And you're gonna be where I'm not one anymore.
- 56:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 56:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's like I'm not hugging a slot.
- 56:42[SPEAKER_00]: Melissa is about to get physical.
- 56:44[SPEAKER_00]: It's sort of a disease.
- 56:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.
- 56:46[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what she has.
- 56:47[SPEAKER_00]: And so Melissa is saying, I don't want to catch anything.
- 56:49[SPEAKER_01]: And VV says something off the cuff.
- 56:51[SPEAKER_01]: She's like,
- 56:52[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever she, whatever she has, you probably were on there.
- 56:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but yeah, it's a pretty big amount.
- 56:57[SPEAKER_01]: There's a little sharing lips.
- 56:58[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 57:00[SPEAKER_00]: But that episode is just so good.
- 57:02[SPEAKER_00]: And it's the one where, oh, it's also the one where Spencer Ren comes to the house and Spencer leaves to drive him back wherever and she comes back and A has the plan on.
- 57:12[SPEAKER_00]: The quick step and she wrote and jungle red on the mirror.
- 57:16[SPEAKER_00]: And then she films the girls from inside Spencer's closet, which is such a creepy fucking moment.
- 57:20[SPEAKER_00]: I remember that scared the shit out of me.
- 57:23[SPEAKER_00]: Other honorable mention would be the Lady Killer season 3 episode 12.
- 57:26[SPEAKER_00]: Can you guess?
- 57:27[SPEAKER_00]: Is that about Jenna?
- 57:31[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's about Emily.
- 57:33[SPEAKER_00]: Mostly.
- 57:35[SPEAKER_00]: Famously one of our favorite things to say about our girl and any girl that has that has developed this This is when Emily kills me.
- 57:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, the skin of a killer.
- 57:45[SPEAKER_00]: It's what Emily gets the skin of a killer Color house.
- 57:49[SPEAKER_00]: That is such a crazy episode.
- 57:51[SPEAKER_01]: We find out that he's actually my as another good action She mentioned well in Ashley Benson.
- 57:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, yes, Toby's revealed as a member of the 18 and that one also
- 57:59[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I believe Emily's the first liar to kill somebody.
- 58:03[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's crazy.
- 58:04[SPEAKER_00]: What are the odds?
- 58:05[SPEAKER_01]: But I love that scene where you see Mona walking back and to radally and she turns around and like she's in her little outfit and she's like, no, she's like being cute and then Toby turns around.
- 58:14[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that was like, oh, now it was maybe one of my first heart breaks probably.
- 58:18[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.
- 58:19[SPEAKER_00]: Well, then obviously the episode with Spencer after this crying in the rain, banging on his door.
- 58:25[SPEAKER_01]: So good.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_01]: I also in Bona inside eating the eating the lasagna that Spencer made for Toby, and it's going to be so good.
- 58:33[SPEAKER_01]: I love episodes like that where it starts or we see Hannah sobbing at the, we don't know what happened.
- 58:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 58:38[SPEAKER_01]: And like Emily looks like shell sharks always see.
- 58:41[SPEAKER_01]: We don't know who's dead.
- 58:42[SPEAKER_01]: And then we have to watch the whole episode.
- 58:43[SPEAKER_01]: I love that.
- 58:45[SPEAKER_00]: My final honorable mention is season two episode 13.
- 58:48[SPEAKER_00]: The first secret.
- 58:50[SPEAKER_00]: It's where we meet Lady G. It is our first Halloween episode and even another honorable mention quickly say that say that.
- 58:58[SPEAKER_01]: No, you talk about it.
- 58:59[SPEAKER_00]: Sure.
- 59:00[SPEAKER_00]: So good.
- 59:00[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, we get.
- 59:02[SPEAKER_00]: the rivalry between Ali and Jenna, where are they both go as Lady G and they look horrible.
- 59:08[SPEAKER_00]: They look at their social media to go and they look horrific.
- 59:10[SPEAKER_00]: And then Ali is like in Knowles house or something or someone tries to like it's not on the house, but doesn't she like,
- 59:17[SPEAKER_01]: She thinks they're in the world.
- 59:19[SPEAKER_01]: She's like she thinks that she's doing a prank with no one then we go back to the party and they're all these Baby face masks around and she's like no, you scared the hell out of them.
- 59:28[SPEAKER_01]: He's like no, sorry I had my brother took the car for a beer run like sorry.
- 59:32[SPEAKER_00]: I
- 59:33[SPEAKER_00]: It's been there.
- 59:33[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, nice because he comes up like a apologetic.
- 59:35[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, sorry.
- 59:37[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry.
- 59:37[SPEAKER_00]: I just scared about that.
- 59:38[SPEAKER_00]: Your friends like you won.
- 59:38[SPEAKER_00]: I would you by the way, so mean.
- 59:40[SPEAKER_00]: Don't ever do that to your friends.
- 59:41[SPEAKER_00]: But it's what she's like sitting down there, right?
- 59:43[SPEAKER_00]: And they come down and I'm like, how could you fucking do this to us?
- 59:45[SPEAKER_00]: Like that's just like ketchup.
- 59:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, yes, yeah, evil fucking evil.
- 59:51[SPEAKER_01]: My last one I mentioned is the perfect storm.
- 59:54[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, the bottle up.
- 59:55[SPEAKER_00]: That is one of your all-time phase.
- 59:56[SPEAKER_00]: That is that one takes me back in such a specific way for some reason.
- 1:00:00[SPEAKER_00]: Like
- 1:00:02[SPEAKER_00]: I love my voice, guys.
- 1:00:12[SPEAKER_01]: You were just no.
- 1:00:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't like Arya's musical prowess.
- 1:00:17[SPEAKER_01]: We really get that moment of Azra, I seen them sing and he's like, who is he?
- 1:00:22[SPEAKER_00]: And he's covered in where he's soaking what?
- 1:00:23[SPEAKER_00]: He's just been out of here again.
- 1:00:25[SPEAKER_00]: And he's in the doorway and she's like, and then it was like, something's going on.
- 1:00:32[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, I see what's going on like, I love when VV was into the library after world then has just outed Emily to the girls and VV says, um, it looks to me like you're talking to minors without a lawyer.
- 1:00:48[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god, and this is the time that I fucking love VV.
- 1:00:51[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, social justice warrior.
- 1:00:52[SPEAKER_01]: She's the best and then we see that we see the broken memorial at the end and we're like who's shoes are fucked up And we think it's Emily right.
- 1:00:59[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's Emily and then I think we find out it's Luke it's in that episode But what's what I think is your company about that episode is the way all of it looks like it's pouring That's like the inside of the school already looks so warm in toast to your eyes But then paired with the flashbacks.
- 1:01:14[SPEAKER_01]: We get of Emily and Allison and it has that filter over it like all the flashbacks
- 1:01:18[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I think it's their first kiss, too, right?
- 1:01:20[SPEAKER_00]: And that we see in the library, yeah.
- 1:01:23[SPEAKER_00]: And it's, oh, that's such a good, such a good episode.
- 1:01:26[SPEAKER_00]: I love it.
- 1:01:28[SPEAKER_00]: And I love the honestly, the looks of the girls stand out a lot to me and that.
- 1:01:31[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like I can see what they were all wearing.
- 1:01:33[SPEAKER_00]: Like I like just that, it's just brilliant.
- 1:01:36[SPEAKER_00]: It's just so good.
- 1:01:37[SPEAKER_00]: Who shows up at the school and like freaks someone out, a mom, Ella?
- 1:01:40[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, because I, because it was, oh, as was,
- 1:01:44[SPEAKER_01]: I think, are you just like, um, mom?
- 1:01:47[SPEAKER_00]: Can you help?
- 1:01:47[SPEAKER_00]: What are you doing here?
- 1:01:48[SPEAKER_00]: What are you doing here?
- 1:01:49[SPEAKER_00]: How are you doing?
- 1:01:49[SPEAKER_00]: This is sort of my, my spot.
- 1:01:51[SPEAKER_00]: What do you, my hang out spot?
- 1:01:51[SPEAKER_00]: What are you doing here?
- 1:01:53[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not old enough for the brew yet.
- 1:01:54[SPEAKER_00]: Just kidding.
- 1:01:55[SPEAKER_00]: Um, anyway, so, okay.
- 1:01:57[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure there are a million episodes that deserve to be on the list that we forgot.
- 1:02:01[SPEAKER_00]: So definitely comment and let us know what you are favorite episodes are.
- 1:02:04[SPEAKER_00]: If we missed any, or if we missed any moments in our favorite episodes that like,
- 1:02:08[SPEAKER_00]: where I can't either in the show or in our retelling of the shows because that was one thing that I had fun as I was like sifting through episodes trying to figure out what I wanted to talk about today.
- 1:02:17[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, I just cracking up thinking about all the fucking world building.
- 1:02:22[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I'm like, this isn't actually part of the episode, but if we're going to talk about our favorite episode that we also created, that we had a hand in creating,
- 1:02:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like L.A.
- 1:02:31[SPEAKER_00]: Montgomery and her not so dark community local on paid production of like it, like of course.
- 1:02:36[SPEAKER_00]: So the show really like when you look at it back like this, it just is such a good show, it really is.
- 1:02:43[SPEAKER_00]: And I can't, it also just makes me excited, like thinking back on all these episodes and like it feels like we talked about them so long ago, but also five minutes ago, and I just can't wait to see like what worlds within worlds we will have in gossip girl.
- 1:02:59[SPEAKER_00]: I keep sings because it's a girl fall post and I'm like what Blake's just posted for the um 18 18 years which is crazy 18 years is crazy.
- 1:03:09[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder if they'll do depending on a 20 year depending on how things go in the next couple of years you know what I'm gonna say is No, I don't I just mean in terms of like laden on the carpet.
- 1:03:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah Kind of throwing shade things like that and I love them both.
- 1:03:25[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, what's she?
- 1:03:26[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 1:03:26[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I heard.
- 1:03:27[SPEAKER_00]: I don't feel like she was.
- 1:03:29[SPEAKER_00]: I will say guys Baldonny has has potentially angered this with these.
- 1:03:35[SPEAKER_01]: He's not looking particularly respect for women.
- 1:03:37[SPEAKER_00]: No, not really.
- 1:03:38[SPEAKER_00]: And kind of hasn't been from the start.
- 1:03:40[SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, all right.
- 1:03:42[SPEAKER_00]: So that is our favorite episodes.
- 1:03:46[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure you miss some, but
- 1:03:48[SPEAKER_00]: That's what we got for today.
