- 0:02Speaker 1: Some of the content of Patriots Unfiltered may not be
- 0:04Speaker 1: suitable for all audiences. Listener discretion is advised. Welcome to
- 0:11Speaker 1: Patrick gets Unfiltered. And I just learned that Patriot, I
- 0:16Speaker 1: mean Paul is a sixteen year old dressed up as Tigger, right,
- 0:19Speaker 1: sound like like that's what I do like on Friday nights.
- 0:22Speaker 1: I have a feeling that you wore I have a
- 0:24Speaker 1: feeling you wore the costume other times too. But how
- 0:26Speaker 1: do you how does Bob manage that? The uh, what's
- 0:29Speaker 1: Bob's mustricianist ted Ted Harper called he I was thinking
- 0:34Speaker 1: of Bob Harper. Who's Bob? I don't know, Sorry, I'm
- 0:37Speaker 1: telling the Long Weekend. Arvon's protein is seriously the best
- 0:40Speaker 1: protein I've ever had. What does that mean? I like, way, yeah,
- 0:45Speaker 1: that's now the funniest line you found in the show.
- 0:49Speaker 1: One has Matthew Stafford as a quarterback. The other has
- 0:51Speaker 1: Jimmy garoppoloar I mean, other than the trip plays, I've
- 0:53Speaker 1: never found a lot of stuff that I'm like, Oh,
- 0:55Speaker 1: I really shouldn't mention that. No, you don't really have
- 0:57Speaker 1: ful you don't really have much of an analytical football mind.
- 1:00Speaker 1: That's probably what patience do you need for an under
- 1:02Speaker 1: why a bra I'm wondering. I don't have the time
- 1:05Speaker 1: or patience for why are brought? What patience do you like?
- 1:09Speaker 1: You don't want to borrow soap sab or soap? Okay,
- 1:12Speaker 1: it's more for you, for the hell with you. This
- 1:15Speaker 1: is Patriot's Unfiltered, fueled by Duncan. All right, welcome the
- 1:21Speaker 1: Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here in July at Gillette Stadium,
- 1:26Speaker 1: and uh, it's just the three of us. It's Mike,
- 1:28Speaker 1: it's Paul, It's me and Chris the webmaster in the booth. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:34Speaker 1: we're pulling deep from the bench today, we are. Yeah,
- 1:40Speaker 1: is your mic off? Yeah? I think I don't know.
- 1:42Speaker 1: I can hear you, yeah, yeah, it's a little bit low, man,
- 1:45Speaker 1: I can hear yeah. All right, you guys hearing me.
- 1:47Speaker 1: I can hear you. What are we doing? Yeah? So, um,
- 1:50Speaker 1: what are we doing today? You know? I think we're
- 1:53Speaker 1: gonna just you know, we're gonna try to get water
- 1:55Speaker 1: out of the rock, you know, just try to find
- 1:57Speaker 1: a way to talk through the next two hours. I'm
- 1:59Speaker 1: sure we'll find something. I know they were talking a
- 2:02Speaker 1: lot this morning about Mac Jones, and I think the
- 2:05Speaker 1: Robert Griffin uh comments the other day that we mentioned
- 2:10Speaker 1: have sparked a lot of you know, how is Mac
- 2:12Speaker 1: Jones gonna do this year? Type of talk? And you know,
- 2:17Speaker 1: in all fairness, a lot does ride on that. Let's
- 2:20Speaker 1: face it, absolutely, I mean, it's it's everything for the team.
- 2:23Speaker 1: And as much as I complain about the worries about
- 2:25Speaker 1: the defense and everything like, that's not even really gonna
- 2:27Speaker 1: matter if the offense doesn't take a strong stride forward
- 2:31Speaker 1: on the back of Mac. And I just I think
- 2:33Speaker 1: I'm reaching the point in the off season, know where
- 2:35Speaker 1: It's like anytime the guy throws a pass anywhere across
- 2:37Speaker 1: the USA, you get a social media post like whoa, yeah,
- 2:40Speaker 1: look at that. Look at me? It looks great. How
- 2:43Speaker 1: about you know, if he didn't look great, then you
- 2:45Speaker 1: really need to have problems. Right, So he's doing all
- 2:48Speaker 1: the right things, but you know, let's get the training
- 2:51Speaker 1: camp and see exactly how it looks. How does he
- 2:53Speaker 1: do against this defense I'm so concerned about, like you know,
- 2:56Speaker 1: that putting him up these new weapons, see how those
- 2:58Speaker 1: guys jive and and see how it all comes together.
- 3:01Speaker 1: So I get to this point now where I'm like,
- 3:03Speaker 1: all right, I want a little vacation, but I'm also like,
- 3:05Speaker 1: let's go. Yeah, I'm willing to even just skip training camp.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Let's just get their game Miami and a Sunday morning
- 3:12Speaker 1: pulling in here. Yeah, it's uh, it'll be fine. I mean,
- 3:15Speaker 1: I can't wait two weeks, a few weeks, so we'll talk,
- 3:18Speaker 1: you know, whatever we have on people's mind about the Patriots.
- 3:21Speaker 1: But in other NFL news, um, big trade. I think
- 3:25Speaker 1: you could put it in that category. Baker Mayfield going
- 3:27Speaker 1: over to the Panthers for not much, but it means
- 3:31Speaker 1: a lot for the Panthers, right, because he's going to
- 3:34Speaker 1: be the starter. Correct, I mean I guess, but I
- 3:36Speaker 1: don't know. I mean, you don't know. I mean, do
- 3:38Speaker 1: you feel that great, Sam Donald? I don't know. Yeah,
- 3:42Speaker 1: that's maybe if I knew. This is kind of like
- 3:44Speaker 1: the surprise cut thing. If I knew the answer, I
- 3:46Speaker 1: would tell you, Oh, I I assume that he's going
- 3:49Speaker 1: to be the starter. I do not. Well, wow, okay,
- 3:53Speaker 1: And I'm not like, why would get the one? But
- 3:55Speaker 1: I see it like exactly the same make the same
- 3:57Speaker 1: amount of money, they played to the same level. I
- 4:00Speaker 1: kind of oh, I think he's better. There's no doubt
- 4:04Speaker 1: he's better. But I said to put on a much
- 4:06Speaker 1: better team, right, Yeah, I think I think Mayfield has more.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Let's put it this way, he has more upside. See,
- 4:12Speaker 1: I think the opposite. Really. Yeah, if you're gonna say
- 4:15Speaker 1: one guy's gonna play at his absolute best, Donald is
- 4:18Speaker 1: more talented. Wow, he's bigger. He's more athletic. He definitely
- 4:22Speaker 1: is more athletic. Oh yeah, by a lot. Mayfield can't Mayfield,
- 4:26Speaker 1: that's true, surse. But knock on Mayfield coming out is
- 4:30Speaker 1: he's not an athlete. Huh. He ran a lot last
- 4:33Speaker 1: year Donald early on when they were doing pretty well.
- 4:35Speaker 1: But I said the Paul and for all the Baker
- 4:37Speaker 1: Mayfields out there. Yes, ESPN is doing that programming for
- 4:40Speaker 1: there we go, we two right out here at the
- 4:42Speaker 1: practice fields Gillette Stadium. Come on down and watch Baker
- 4:45Speaker 1: Mayfield verse Sam Donald dead voice come from. I know.
- 4:48Speaker 1: I think good point though, but but I said the
- 4:50Speaker 1: poles in my head. Now, I think Mayfield will be
- 4:52Speaker 1: the starter. But I do like I think that's going
- 4:54Speaker 1: to be an open I believe them when they say
- 4:56Speaker 1: it's an opening propetition. I agree to and that's why
- 4:58Speaker 1: that's why I said it. I think it'll be interesting.
- 5:00Speaker 1: I mean, not that where our eyes are gonna be
- 5:01Speaker 1: on the Patriots, but how do they divide up reps
- 5:03Speaker 1: out there? How do those two guys look at It
- 5:05Speaker 1: will be just a little something on the side to watch,
- 5:07Speaker 1: and then obviously the game will be here too, so
- 5:09Speaker 1: we'll see how they divide up that. And you know,
- 5:11Speaker 1: how do those guys do against the Patriots defense? I guess, um,
- 5:15Speaker 1: Donald is guaranteed like seventeen million this year or something
- 5:18Speaker 1: like that. They both get eighteen nine eight. Guess the
- 5:23Speaker 1: fifty er option. Okay, they were the first and third
- 5:25Speaker 1: overall picks of the same draft, all right, so they
- 5:27Speaker 1: have the same fifty er option. Don't don't you feel
- 5:29Speaker 1: like there's a Demento Patriots universe where they're the two
- 5:32Speaker 1: Patriots quarterbacks, like like, had Mac not been drafted, and
- 5:35Speaker 1: you know, like I mean they will talking about Donald
- 5:37Speaker 1: a couple of years ago, Like, I mean, I'm happy
- 5:40Speaker 1: we have Mac, but it's not hard to imagine a
- 5:42Speaker 1: scenario where we're kind of But you bring up a
- 5:45Speaker 1: good point. There aren't going to be joint practices with
- 5:48Speaker 1: the Panthers here at Gillette this summer, and so we'll assume,
- 5:52Speaker 1: assume we're gonna see both of them in action. Yeah, well,
- 5:55Speaker 1: I mean last year we saw a quarterback competition between
- 5:57Speaker 1: Mac and Cam and now you'll I mean again, eyes
- 6:00Speaker 1: are going to be on the Patriots for sure, But
- 6:03Speaker 1: I don't. I just thought Baker Mayfield was so bad
- 6:05Speaker 1: last year. I still think he's better than what he
- 6:07Speaker 1: did here. But it looked him and Jarvis Landry looked
- 6:10Speaker 1: like they were they were done. They didn't really want
- 6:12Speaker 1: to play football anymore. When they were you know, when
- 6:15Speaker 1: they lost that game here, which was one of the
- 6:16Speaker 1: patriots best games of the season for sure, certainly one
- 6:19Speaker 1: of Max's you know, best couple of throws with that
- 6:21Speaker 1: that Born catch. And yeah, but we'll see, we'll see
- 6:24Speaker 1: how he looks. Yeah, so they gave up a fifth
- 6:27Speaker 1: conditional fourth if he plays, Yeah, you know, if he plays,
- 6:31Speaker 1: I think it's a fourth. So yeah, you know, it's interesting.
- 6:35Speaker 1: We'll tie it always as we do to the Patriots,
- 6:38Speaker 1: as you like to say. Fred. On one of my
- 6:40Speaker 1: shows yesterday, a guy called in and said, should the
- 6:42Speaker 1: Patriots have been in on that for you know, basically
- 6:45Speaker 1: for nothing. You get him for a conditional fifth round pick,
- 6:48Speaker 1: wouldn't he represent a better insurance policy if something were
- 6:51Speaker 1: to happen to Mac? How do you guys feel about that?
- 6:55Speaker 1: I think he's got a personality that wouldn't really jive
- 6:57Speaker 1: in that situation of are you coming in to be
- 6:59Speaker 1: the back? I mean, if I think if they brought
- 7:01Speaker 1: him in, it would all of a sudden, why would
- 7:02Speaker 1: Baker Mayfield want to come here to you know, Okay,
- 7:05Speaker 1: I'm and be resigned to being the backup. I want
- 7:08Speaker 1: to compete for a starting position. And if he came
- 7:10Speaker 1: here that that's what I would read between the lines.
- 7:12Speaker 1: He's coming to compete Baker Mayfield's decision to make as
- 7:14Speaker 1: you once told, No, I know that, but like that
- 7:18Speaker 1: was the only team off I know, but I want
- 7:21Speaker 1: to I want to compete, you know, Like he's young,
- 7:25Speaker 1: he would compete. Yeah, so, but that's but that's the thing,
- 7:28Speaker 1: Like I think the Patriots should be all bought in
- 7:32Speaker 1: on Mac Jones. Mac Jones is our quarterback. If you
- 7:34Speaker 1: have two quarterbacks, you don't have one quarterback. Matt Jones
- 7:38Speaker 1: is our quarterback. Based twenty seven, now, I wouldn't be
- 7:41Speaker 1: interested in Baker Mayfield, but it sounds like for a
- 7:43Speaker 1: different read, I just don't think he's very good. So
- 7:45Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know. What about what about
- 7:47Speaker 1: doing the other way? What if Sam Darnold was available,
- 7:49Speaker 1: would you bring him in? No? I don't. I think
- 7:53Speaker 1: those guys are busts. I think they missed. Okay, yeah, no,
- 7:59Speaker 1: I don't think so. And it's it's got all to
- 8:02Speaker 1: do with what I think of those guys as opposed
- 8:05Speaker 1: to what I think of Mac and the other part
- 8:08Speaker 1: of it is, And you're gonna make fun of me
- 8:10Speaker 1: for this, but it's okay. I'm a big boy. I
- 8:12Speaker 1: can take it. I can take the criticism. I don't
- 8:15Speaker 1: think you need to pay your backup quarterback eighteen point
- 8:17Speaker 1: nine million dollars like, I just don't. That's the starter.
- 8:20Speaker 1: That's fine. I don't think you need a backup making
- 8:22Speaker 1: twenty million dollars. Yeah, what's the saying if you have
- 8:24Speaker 1: two quarterbacks you don't listen? You might want to listen.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Thanks for listening. I was looking at Bake for me fields.
- 8:30Speaker 1: You know now that said, you know there have been
- 8:32Speaker 1: times where a starting quarterback has gone down and back
- 8:36Speaker 1: up a competent backup has come in and led the
- 8:39Speaker 1: team to Jacoby brus the playoffs. I'm not even I'm
- 8:42Speaker 1: talking about competent. Yeah, do you have any um? But
- 8:49Speaker 1: do you think there's all that much difference between backup? Now?
- 8:53Speaker 1: If he was a backup, Sam Darneld was the backup,
- 8:55Speaker 1: Baker Mayfield was the backup, Brian Hoyer's the backup. Do
- 8:58Speaker 1: you feel that much different? Yes? I don't those two.
- 9:03Speaker 1: With Brian Hoyer, Oh, come on, Paul, I think they
- 9:07Speaker 1: all think, oh man, I see, I don't do that.
- 9:11Speaker 1: I don't don't. I don't think you'd win anything with
- 9:13Speaker 1: any of those three guys. Wow. I think the only
- 9:15Speaker 1: difference is I would have I could talk myself into
- 9:18Speaker 1: some optimism of you know, if Baker Mayfield came here,
- 9:21Speaker 1: I could convince myself of, well, he's only twenty seven,
- 9:24Speaker 1: he's still got some football ahead him. Like Yer, I
- 9:26Speaker 1: don't think he's ever going to be more than what
- 9:28Speaker 1: he is, which is fine. And I don't think it's
- 9:30Speaker 1: that much different than what it is. That's in arguable,
- 9:32Speaker 1: and Mike is right that that whole. But I also
- 9:36Speaker 1: think and that Paul's probably gonna jump down my throat
- 9:38Speaker 1: here I think you want. I think the presence of
- 9:40Speaker 1: Bill Belichick helps you with a guy like Baker Mayfield
- 9:44Speaker 1: because when he says, no, this is how we're gonna
- 9:47Speaker 1: do it. Yeah, there's no pushback. Yeah you know, I
- 9:52Speaker 1: promise you I wouldn't. We're gonna coach. We're gonna coach
- 9:55Speaker 1: you this way. This is what we're looking for from
- 9:57Speaker 1: from that. Baker Mayfield's problem, I don't know, but he's
- 10:00Speaker 1: got a big personality. I just think he's a baby. Okay,
- 10:05Speaker 1: but I don't think any take the baby out. But
- 10:08Speaker 1: I think there's been a lot of bibbies that have
- 10:10Speaker 1: come here that have been corralled, Like who Randy Moss.
- 10:14Speaker 1: He's a baby. He has been, He has been a
- 10:16Speaker 1: baby in his past that when they're not winning, Oh
- 10:19Speaker 1: it doesn't matter. He's been a bebbett. He stops trying
- 10:22Speaker 1: when they didn't just like he stopped trying here when
- 10:24Speaker 1: they weren't winning. Corey Dillon was a bad guy, but
- 10:27Speaker 1: he came here and did the same thing here as
- 10:29Speaker 1: he did elsewhere eventually, but not right away. But this
- 10:33Speaker 1: is my point, so like, what do you what is
- 10:35Speaker 1: the coaching fixing If there's immense talent. Shut up, you're
- 10:39Speaker 1: getting production out. If you have immense talent like Randy
- 10:42Speaker 1: Moss and Corey Dillon, you can get a year out
- 10:44Speaker 1: of him, maybe two in Moss's case. That's it. Yeah. Uh.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Do you guys remember were the Patriots was that interest
- 10:52Speaker 1: in Baker Mayfield in the draft? Real? Well, that's why
- 10:54Speaker 1: I wanted to get it to the Patriots. Yeah, um,
- 10:57Speaker 1: because I remember thinking that that they seem to have
- 11:00Speaker 1: interested they called in. It was a caller that that
- 11:03Speaker 1: brought brought the whole Patriots angle up, and he said,
- 11:05Speaker 1: you know, remembering back to the eighteen season, the eighteen draft, Um,
- 11:10Speaker 1: there was a report and it came from an agent
- 11:14Speaker 1: clearly you know, talking about trying to scare anybody to
- 11:18Speaker 1: Patriots strong interest in in Um. I think McDaniels at
- 11:22Speaker 1: the time, if they were that interested, they were going
- 11:24Speaker 1: to give up resources. Now you could get You could
- 11:25Speaker 1: get them for nothing. You don't have to think about
- 11:27Speaker 1: any resources to do it. So wow, Josh McDaniels isn't
- 11:30Speaker 1: here anymore. No, but better were the Patriots interested or not?
- 11:35Speaker 1: Do you think no idea? I really don't. I mean,
- 11:38Speaker 1: I we don't. You're absolutely right, I'm gonna say no, yeah,
- 11:41Speaker 1: I think they were Okay. I think there was. I'm
- 11:44Speaker 1: getting out. I would now to me, it's an easy
- 11:47Speaker 1: it's an easy fix. That was in two thy eighteen.
- 11:50Speaker 1: He had yet to play a game, right, He's played
- 11:53Speaker 1: for the last four years, and it hasn't been very good.
- 11:55Speaker 1: You know. I think at times he has been good.
- 11:58Speaker 1: He's been consistent. Think his record speak for itself. I
- 12:01Speaker 1: mean he's a he's a well five guy on a
- 12:05Speaker 1: very good team. In the same conversation this morning, uh,
- 12:09Speaker 1: they were saying, you know, do you think Trevor Lawrence
- 12:11Speaker 1: is any good? And one of the host was like,
- 12:12Speaker 1: I'm looking at his numbers. He's not as good as
- 12:15Speaker 1: Matt Jones. It's like, oh, come on, that's not what's
- 12:18Speaker 1: all about. No, I'm not talking about numbers. I just
- 12:21Speaker 1: mean he doesn't really win. And I think that Cleveland
- 12:25Speaker 1: in the last two years has been pretty good. I
- 12:27Speaker 1: think there's a chance they're going to be very good
- 12:29Speaker 1: this year, even if Deshaun Watson doesn't play. I think
- 12:32Speaker 1: they can win. That's a good team. I don't think
- 12:36Speaker 1: it's the greatest team, you know, in the AFC, but
- 12:38Speaker 1: I think that's that has that's a team that has talent. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 12:45Speaker 1: I just I think I'm there's something on Mayfield just
- 12:48Speaker 1: the way he carries himself that like he kind of
- 12:50Speaker 1: has a cockiness to him. That might be like Jimmy
- 12:53Speaker 1: conn talking about him when we were talking on Tuesday
- 12:56Speaker 1: about quarterbacks being leaders, and I said pretty much everywhere,
- 12:59Speaker 1: that might be another one that's not a great leader
- 13:01Speaker 1: to you on your side, Baker Mayfield. I don't know
- 13:04Speaker 1: if he's a great leader. Yeah, you know, like the
- 13:06Speaker 1: whole we wanted an adult to play quarterback, so we
- 13:08Speaker 1: signed he wants to feel it, but kind of tries
- 13:14Speaker 1: too hard. And yeah, I just I was not impressed
- 13:17Speaker 1: with him last year. He's had he's had some moments,
- 13:20Speaker 1: but I don't think he's ever really played well. And
- 13:22Speaker 1: you talk about it, you guys make fun of Lamar Jackson. Well,
- 13:26Speaker 1: because there's only one way you can wait. Barry Mayfield
- 13:30Speaker 1: needs to he needs to be playing in a certain style.
- 13:33Speaker 1: They need to be running the ball, they need to
- 13:34Speaker 1: be playing defense, they need to be ahead. Like he's
- 13:37Speaker 1: one of those guys that I don't think you want
- 13:39Speaker 1: him throwing the ball forty times. Yeah, but because he
- 13:42Speaker 1: will make mistake if he's got Nick Chubb and right
- 13:44Speaker 1: Kareem Hunt and it's all running a joku and all
- 13:48Speaker 1: the pieces that they've had. He did have a moment,
- 13:51Speaker 1: but they had a good year or two years ago
- 13:53Speaker 1: and then they blew out Pittsburgh in the playoffs and
- 13:56Speaker 1: they had an opportunity to be Kansas City in the
- 14:00Speaker 1: playoffs that year. It's kind of like Jacksonville a couple
- 14:02Speaker 1: of years ago, teams that kind of flashing the pan
- 14:04Speaker 1: season and then that was kind of it. Yeah, and
- 14:07Speaker 1: I mean they're still okay. They haven't fallen back to
- 14:09Speaker 1: what they were like Jacksonville has. But I don't know.
- 14:13Speaker 1: I think Mayfield will probably beat him out, beat out Donald.
- 14:16Speaker 1: But but I think I do going to be it,
- 14:18Speaker 1: but I think it'll be I think it'll be a competition.
- 14:19Speaker 1: That's why I think out there you're gonna they'll see like, well,
- 14:22Speaker 1: how do they handle it? I mean, I know it
- 14:23Speaker 1: was a skewed with Mac and Cam being out and
- 14:26Speaker 1: then Mac getting like majority of the reps and that
- 14:28Speaker 1: was kind of it. But you know, still I think
- 14:30Speaker 1: we were like Cam gets the first series and then
- 14:33Speaker 1: it's like Mac for sixth series. You know that that
- 14:35Speaker 1: kind of thing that they were doing. How do they
- 14:37Speaker 1: do it? I mean, is it like back and forth?
- 14:38Speaker 1: How do you see it? I mean again, but that's
- 14:42Speaker 1: the kind of stuff that happened after Kim missed the time.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Yeah too, So I don't know. I think that Baker
- 14:49Speaker 1: Mayfield will benefit from the fact that Donald was there
- 14:53Speaker 1: last year and played and they saw him be mediocre
- 14:56Speaker 1: at best. So I think Mayfield will come in with
- 14:59Speaker 1: that sort of newness factor and potential. Yeah, and I
- 15:03Speaker 1: think you'll have a leg up coming in. I agree
- 15:05Speaker 1: with you you two. I think he will ultimately win
- 15:08Speaker 1: the job. But I really don't think there's a huge difference.
- 15:11Speaker 1: I think if you take into consideration just how bad
- 15:13Speaker 1: the Jets have been, I don't think there's been a
- 15:16Speaker 1: huge difference between their performances on the field. Plus, it's
- 15:20Speaker 1: like McCaffrey too, Like who wins the job and then
- 15:23Speaker 1: who's who's starting when McCaffrey gets hurt, And think like
- 15:26Speaker 1: things start off great because McCaffrey's all over the place
- 15:28Speaker 1: and they're giving the ball to and forty times a game,
- 15:31Speaker 1: and it's all going great for Baker Mayfield and Carolina,
- 15:33Speaker 1: and then all of a sudden. Weren't they three and
- 15:35Speaker 1: all at the start last year? Yeah? Yeah, and then
- 15:38Speaker 1: eventually McCaffrey gets hurt. Things change. I saw funny. Mean,
- 15:42Speaker 1: that was like a guy doing his fantasy draft that
- 15:44Speaker 1: It was like, you know, Christian McCaffrey stand and they're
- 15:47Speaker 1: sitting there at the seventh overall pick and being like,
- 15:50Speaker 1: you gotta do it, but your season's gonna be over
- 15:52Speaker 1: like in week four, you know, Like he's that kind
- 15:54Speaker 1: of that kind of fantasy guy that that you have
- 15:56Speaker 1: to take, but you're going to be gritting your teeth
- 15:58Speaker 1: the whole season hoping he doesn't get hurt. What do
- 16:00Speaker 1: you think of Aaron Rodgers tattoo? I just caught a
- 16:03Speaker 1: glimpse of it. I think it's pretty dazzling. It's it's
- 16:06Speaker 1: typical Aaron Rodgers, like Illuminati, all these hidden meanings. You know,
- 16:10Speaker 1: what do you think it looks like? Yeah? Yeah, it's
- 16:13Speaker 1: a lot of a lot of levels. What is it?
- 16:15Speaker 1: I gotta get a better look. I don't know what
- 16:17Speaker 1: there was? Was there like a pyramid and there's a pyramid,
- 16:19Speaker 1: there's the eye, you know, the Illuminati eye. There's like
- 16:22Speaker 1: all these symbols and things. I wouldn't understand. That's the point.
- 16:27Speaker 1: I don't think. Yeah, and I don't even think he does.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Where where is? Where was the local looked like his
- 16:30Speaker 1: forearm and his forearm? Yeah, okay, and this is this
- 16:36Speaker 1: is news because I assume he made it. He well, yeah,
- 16:38Speaker 1: he put it out there. What do you think of
- 16:40Speaker 1: my tattoo? Right? Yeah, because that's what he does. I like,
- 16:43Speaker 1: I'm not a big Aaron Rodgers. I believe me. I'd
- 16:47Speaker 1: respect the talent. I think he's a tremendously gifted quarterback.
- 16:51Speaker 1: I just don't have a lot of interest in him
- 16:53Speaker 1: the person. Yeah, it seems like a not my kind
- 16:56Speaker 1: of guy. It's a display, like you know, somebody really
- 16:58Speaker 1: had like a deep son tattoo that you got. You're
- 17:01Speaker 1: not going out being like hey right, dead family member.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Like now he's got all kinds of things going on.
- 17:09Speaker 1: What does it mean? It's probably a website. What do
- 17:10Speaker 1: you think it means? Yeah, like like our old line.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Do you think, Oh, it means a lot of things.
- 17:15Speaker 1: You know, I guess bad friend, that's not bad. I
- 17:19Speaker 1: guess you know. Beauty's in the eye beholder is Rogers?
- 17:23Speaker 1: Did he actually say that or no? That makes it
- 17:26Speaker 1: even better. That's just me saying that's not a bad,
- 17:28Speaker 1: that's not a bad. You like that. Okay, Well somebody
- 17:31Speaker 1: has somebody has to pick up the slack for Eric, right,
- 17:34Speaker 1: you know, our resident impersonator, our impressions or do you
- 17:37Speaker 1: think Eric is bored? Now? I have no idea. I
- 17:40Speaker 1: hope not, because he says he's never never been bored.
- 17:43Speaker 1: He's never been bored after taking a month off of work.
- 17:46Speaker 1: And it's a good question because I wonder what unemployed
- 17:48Speaker 1: Eric might be like, like, because we've talked about it before.
- 17:51Speaker 1: When you're employed and it's like, well, I gotta I
- 17:53Speaker 1: gotta go to the post office today. That's my day,
- 17:55Speaker 1: Like like you make a whole day out of like
- 17:56Speaker 1: just going to the post office. He probably read every
- 17:59Speaker 1: book ever been published, right or written well as he
- 18:02Speaker 1: written as he finished his book. I hope so, I
- 18:06Speaker 1: hope so sending it out to publishers all right? Eight
- 18:09Speaker 1: five five Pats five hundred is the A ticket hotline
- 18:11Speaker 1: web radio at Patriots dot com is the email address.
- 18:13Speaker 1: I don't know if there's there any other NFL news.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Pretty quiet. These are the dog days of the NFL. Yeah,
- 18:18Speaker 1: this is the time. This is the time. Yeah, that
- 18:20Speaker 1: Mayfield trade was really uh yeah, the only thing going on. Yeah,
- 18:26Speaker 1: just a couple of weeks. I mean, I think the
- 18:28Speaker 1: you know, the pup list will be coming out just
- 18:30Speaker 1: before camp two. That's something maybe think about a little
- 18:32Speaker 1: bit of you know, just James White end up on
- 18:34Speaker 1: that Byron Cowart, Byron Cowart. We haven't seen him in
- 18:39Speaker 1: I would imagine he will. You know, you have to
- 18:43Speaker 1: start out that way, yeah, you know, so do you
- 18:46Speaker 1: always air on the side of caution? You put everybody
- 18:48Speaker 1: that you know is injured on that pup list because
- 18:52Speaker 1: once once, if they're not and they start camp, they
- 18:55Speaker 1: can't go back on it. Yeah, but even guys that
- 18:58Speaker 1: you know, I mean, we saw plenty of mcmill we
- 19:00Speaker 1: saw plenty of of what's his name than the safety
- 19:06Speaker 1: as well as as as peppers. You know, so those
- 19:09Speaker 1: guys coming off of ACL stuff where yeah they were
- 19:12Speaker 1: out there for that, but but are they ready to go?
- 19:14Speaker 1: Oh yeah a lot of times they put them on
- 19:16Speaker 1: the list and then as soon as the conditioning runs
- 19:18Speaker 1: over they take them off. Yeah, you know so, but
- 19:20Speaker 1: I think you know, things could all of a sudden
- 19:22Speaker 1: look pretty different if if McMillan somebody who I feel
- 19:25Speaker 1: like is going to be right in the middle of
- 19:27Speaker 1: it all right out of the gate, you know, if
- 19:29Speaker 1: he were, if he were not quite ready to go,
- 19:31Speaker 1: I mean it appeared that he was. But yeah, I
- 19:33Speaker 1: don't think any of those guys would be candidates for
- 19:36Speaker 1: PUP in the regular season. Like to Fred's point, if
- 19:40Speaker 1: they're if they're not quite on a hundred percent, maybe
- 19:42Speaker 1: they weren't quite ready for the conditioning run, so they
- 19:45Speaker 1: have to start camp on PUP. I don't think like
- 19:49Speaker 1: Peppers or McMillan, I don't think. No, I don't think
- 19:53Speaker 1: those guys are probably candidates. I don't know about James
- 19:55Speaker 1: White because I think that injury is so unique that
- 19:58Speaker 1: it's hard to project that. But but it's like, even
- 20:01Speaker 1: if those new guys are missing time at the beginning camp,
- 20:05Speaker 1: especially on defense, whatever, get some new I think it
- 20:08Speaker 1: would be short that kind of annoying. I think it
- 20:09Speaker 1: would be very quick. I'd be annoyed. Well, you tend
- 20:12Speaker 1: to get annoyed. Had a lot of defensive because you
- 20:15Speaker 1: get yourself so excited about everything. I know that when
- 20:18Speaker 1: something doesn't happen, well, this is what I'm trying. I'm
- 20:21Speaker 1: trying to get myself excited about these new pieces on defense,
- 20:23Speaker 1: and then how am I supposed to get excited if
- 20:25Speaker 1: they're not even out there at the start and you're like, oh,
- 20:27Speaker 1: all right, well we're gonna have I don't know, I mean,
- 20:30Speaker 1: I guess Mac Wilson or somebody in there to start,
- 20:32Speaker 1: but or Howard Harvey long game and those It's just
- 20:35Speaker 1: not things that would make me happy out of the game.
- 20:36Speaker 1: But it was all right. Eight five five pats five
- 20:40Speaker 1: hundred is the a ticket hut line? Eight five five
- 20:42Speaker 1: pats five hundred. Let's go to the phones. Bill will
- 20:46Speaker 1: start it off from DC. What's up? Bill? Hey, everybody? Um,
- 20:52Speaker 1: I have a game for you. Paul Nice. Actually that
- 20:57Speaker 1: a real quick though on that talk about Andrea Tippot.
- 21:00Speaker 1: It kind of got me motivated, and I went back
- 21:03Speaker 1: and looked He's did a great YouTube video of an
- 21:06Speaker 1: NFL NFL films one called answered Your Own Risk, and
- 21:10Speaker 1: I had remembered the athleticism and like the power. I
- 21:14Speaker 1: had forgotten how valance he was like, because the ferociously
- 21:17Speaker 1: Slaneaple down, the throwdowns like he was brutal kee, the
- 21:21Speaker 1: Kennel Bryant throw down, his classic I make fun of
- 21:24Speaker 1: him that all the time he did that to me
- 21:25Speaker 1: in front of PEPSI machine. I asked him how many
- 21:27Speaker 1: times he would how much would you got to find
- 21:28Speaker 1: for that today? And he there's also like multiple times
- 21:34Speaker 1: of him taking Danny White down just to storing him
- 21:37Speaker 1: holding over again. Pretty enjoyable lot. Anyway, here's the game
- 21:44Speaker 1: would you rather game? And we're assuming it's one or
- 21:47Speaker 1: two players. They're young and health face, tight of their powers,
- 21:51Speaker 1: and so this year's roster and for this season, would
- 21:55Speaker 1: you rather have Andre Tippett or Randy Moss? Randy Moss?
- 22:04Speaker 1: I mean, I love Andre Tippett, I love defense, but
- 22:08Speaker 1: they're both Hall of famers. It's a good question. Good question.
- 22:16Speaker 1: I'm gonna say Tippet for this team. Yeah, because you
- 22:18Speaker 1: know put you you're always talking about that, where's that
- 22:22Speaker 1: where's that pressure going to come from? A chance to
- 22:25Speaker 1: get a weapon? And no, but where's that pressure going
- 22:28Speaker 1: to come from? Okay, the answer would be Andre Tippott.
- 22:30Speaker 1: I know, I know, but it's a good question. I
- 22:33Speaker 1: don't think it's a no brainer. I could definitely make
- 22:35Speaker 1: an argument either way. Sure, you know, does does does
- 22:40Speaker 1: mac have the arm to take advantage of a guy
- 22:42Speaker 1: like Randy Moss. It's the smartest receiver. Yeah, he is.
- 22:46Speaker 1: He is. He's really smart. You can go over the
- 22:49Speaker 1: middle too. He doesn't have to always be going deep,
- 22:51Speaker 1: you know, but you're kind of wasting his talents if
- 22:53Speaker 1: you're not sending him. Yeah, I know I went against
- 22:56Speaker 1: the grain a little bit there, but you know, not
- 23:00Speaker 1: that Tip was von Miller. But I think that's like,
- 23:03Speaker 1: you know what Buffalo kindness sees is like we need
- 23:05Speaker 1: that kind of finisher guy. It's just after all this
- 23:08Speaker 1: time of watching kind of so so offensive pieces like
- 23:11Speaker 1: I don't know, just to go back to those special
- 23:13Speaker 1: days of Randy Moss, that that that's something that will
- 23:15Speaker 1: be cool and give Mac a chance to you know,
- 23:18Speaker 1: one of the greatest receivers of all the time. Then
- 23:20Speaker 1: you're really gonna find out. Certainly Moss makes everybody else
- 23:22Speaker 1: better in the receiving corps, you know, because he's going
- 23:24Speaker 1: to draw attention. I feel bad going against Tip though,
- 23:27Speaker 1: that is, but I think Tip does the same thing
- 23:29Speaker 1: on defense. That is true. If if Moss, even if
- 23:31Speaker 1: you can't necessarily take advantage of him to the fullest,
- 23:34Speaker 1: he will open up stuff for others that that's Yeah,
- 23:38Speaker 1: it's a good it's a very good question. Good question,
- 23:40Speaker 1: Good Bill, Good job Bill. All right, next one, Rodney
- 23:44Speaker 1: Harrison or Rodney Harrison. I see a theme here. I'm
- 23:48Speaker 1: gonna say Edelman on this one because of the depth
- 23:51Speaker 1: at safety, not because I think that anybody is Rodney Harrison.
- 23:54Speaker 1: But I think they have four good safeties. Yeah, that's
- 23:56Speaker 1: a good way to put it. I do think that
- 23:58Speaker 1: they could use that kind of physical edge present not edge,
- 24:01Speaker 1: you know, like on the end, but playing with an edge,
- 24:03Speaker 1: and you can get that guy, assuming you can force
- 24:06Speaker 1: a team to punt. There's that. But that atypical Fred snark.
- 24:13Speaker 1: I don't know what you're doing over there. I was
- 24:15Speaker 1: waiting for something. No punts. Discard everybody mostly Fred. I've
- 24:19Speaker 1: never seen that two games against the same team, division
- 24:22Speaker 1: opponent thing. You know that you're like supposed to be beaten.
- 24:24Speaker 1: All right, what's your next one? Oh, gronk cronk? Yeah,
- 24:34Speaker 1: there tight ends a quarterback's best friend, does it all.
- 24:37Speaker 1: He helps the run game, he's a red zone threat,
- 24:40Speaker 1: and he's fun. Yeah, I like fun. See. Mike Evans
- 24:44Speaker 1: had a comment yesterday. He doesn't he doesn't think he's
- 24:47Speaker 1: going to come back. Really. Yeah, he thinks he's done
- 24:49Speaker 1: for good. You're wrong, Evans. I think he's done too anyway,
- 24:55Speaker 1: Is that it? Bill? I da just do it quick quick, yep? Okay,
- 25:03Speaker 1: Troy Brown or Mike Rabel, these are really good, very thoughtful.
- 25:09Speaker 1: I'll say I'll save Rabes. I'm gonna save Rabes on
- 25:13Speaker 1: that one. I'm gonna go. Yeah. I don't really have
- 25:17Speaker 1: any line next. Yeah, what's the next one? Welker or
- 25:25Speaker 1: will Fork? Welker or will Fork? I probably go Welker,
- 25:32Speaker 1: no disrespect, point blank, I'm gonna go Willfork. Yeah, the
- 25:38Speaker 1: stability in the mind, I mean you can make an
- 25:40Speaker 1: argument they certainly could use another big body in the
- 25:43Speaker 1: middle that you know a little surprised that you went with. Well, yeah,
- 25:47Speaker 1: good one, thanks Bill, good one, very good. They're all
- 25:51Speaker 1: great players, so it's tithe and you make it an
- 25:54Speaker 1: argument for the bigger need, right, you know, someone to
- 25:59Speaker 1: stop They're like Seymour, like the Seymour one was who
- 26:02Speaker 1: impacts your teams? Saying positively, Bronk is just so dynamic
- 26:06Speaker 1: and Mike explained it perfectly with his impact on the
- 26:09Speaker 1: running game and the passing game. Yeah, I think it'd
- 26:11Speaker 1: be tough too. If you did a game like that
- 26:13Speaker 1: with outside linebackers versus cornerbacks, like if you did Tip
- 26:18Speaker 1: versus thy Law, you know that they're both because you
- 26:21Speaker 1: have some receiving depth. So but you don't really have
- 26:24Speaker 1: anything great at cornerback or Rivas first Seymour in there
- 26:28Speaker 1: in their prime. Yeah, I think that's tough. See I
- 26:31Speaker 1: thinks I but I would too. I would take the corner. Yeah,
- 26:37Speaker 1: that would take thy Law. I would take yeahs No,
- 26:40Speaker 1: that's on brand free. They don't. They don't have corners, Like,
- 26:43Speaker 1: I'm just going by the depth of what they have
- 26:45Speaker 1: and what I think is more important. Those are the
- 26:47Speaker 1: two spots. So they're lacking depth at both spots. But
- 26:50Speaker 1: to me, you're not gonna lose a lot of games,
- 26:52Speaker 1: you know when the team runs the ball, don't your throat?
- 26:54Speaker 1: Tip and Jude on that? Uh? Marks and Bolton? What's up? Mark? Um?
- 27:01Speaker 1: More dog Days conversation Um on a contention I've been
- 27:07Speaker 1: getting ripped in the Drudge twitter verse and even had
- 27:09Speaker 1: but I've had a pleasant constructive back and forth with
- 27:13Speaker 1: mister Reef on this contention, and that is Roman Romander
- 27:18Speaker 1: Stevenson is the best three down back the Patriots have
- 27:21Speaker 1: drafted since Curtis Martin in ninety five. And if not, who,
- 27:28Speaker 1: well didn't they? They drafted James White, they draft, Well,
- 27:31Speaker 1: he's not really a three down back, right not? No,
- 27:34Speaker 1: I'm sorry, not third down back? I okay, three down
- 27:37Speaker 1: down back? Yeah they drafted? Have they drafted a three
- 27:40Speaker 1: down back since since Curtis market I think Sony Michelle
- 27:45Speaker 1: was supposed to be, but he just he was supposed
- 27:48Speaker 1: to be. We thought he was supposed to be. Okay,
- 27:50Speaker 1: well this guy's better than yeah, Sony Michelle. Yeah, I
- 27:53Speaker 1: need to see more. I just don't think that they
- 27:55Speaker 1: really like Stephen Ridley wasn't really drafted is a three
- 27:58Speaker 1: down back? Vere we three down back? Yeah? Well yeah,
- 28:10Speaker 1: I don't think that they wanted him to be a
- 28:11Speaker 1: huge part of the passing game. Well you can rephrase
- 28:15Speaker 1: it is the most complete back they've drafted since Curtin
- 28:17Speaker 1: Mark Curtis Martin. I mean, I think the potential one year,
- 28:22Speaker 1: the potential might be there. I need to see more
- 28:24Speaker 1: out of him, consistency and especially on third down, you know,
- 28:27Speaker 1: more than just pay a couple of years before we
- 28:30Speaker 1: make that judgment. But I like Stevenson a lot. I'm
- 28:33Speaker 1: with Mark on Stevenson. I am high on him. I
- 28:36Speaker 1: think Damian Harris is, you know, in terms of his
- 28:38Speaker 1: skill set, is is a three down back. I just
- 28:40Speaker 1: think Stevenson's a little bit better. Yeah, he's a little bigger.
- 28:44Speaker 1: I mean, I'd love to see those guys raised. I
- 28:47Speaker 1: think Stevenson surprisingly fast, surprising, more explosive. But I think
- 28:50Speaker 1: you're right, Mike, I think that would surprise some people. Well,
- 28:54Speaker 1: not saying that, I mean he even I mean he's
- 28:56Speaker 1: a little bit different than Martin that he doesn't have,
- 28:58Speaker 1: like Parcel said that Martin and that bush, which was
- 29:01Speaker 1: that like three yard four yard sidestep that almost nobody has,
- 29:07Speaker 1: but but the silly the great ones have And I'm
- 29:09Speaker 1: not saying that Stevenson even has that, but he does.
- 29:12Speaker 1: But he's also twenty pounds bigger, um, and he you know,
- 29:16Speaker 1: he does have a nice little sidestep and then he
- 29:19Speaker 1: you know, delivered the blow. So so not saying he's
- 29:22Speaker 1: a Hall of Famer, but just saying that he is.
- 29:24Speaker 1: He has all the ability to be a three down back. Yeah,
- 29:27Speaker 1: I think he could be a three down back. Yes,
- 29:29Speaker 1: I mean I'm not putting him in anywhere near the
- 29:31Speaker 1: stratosphere of Curtis Martin, who's one of the may maybe
- 29:34Speaker 1: the best five running backs of all time, right, Like
- 29:37Speaker 1: that's not an exaggeration. Yeah, he's one of the one
- 29:41Speaker 1: of a small handful of the best ever. And the
- 29:43Speaker 1: ironic thing or the sad thing is the Patriots. One
- 29:46Speaker 1: of the reasons why the Patriots were okay with him
- 29:49Speaker 1: going is because they thought he was a little injury prone.
- 29:52Speaker 1: There was like this abdomen injury that was questionable, and
- 29:57Speaker 1: he turned out to be one of the more durable
- 30:00Speaker 1: running backs of all time as well. Right, And they
- 30:03Speaker 1: got him in the third wrong because he had an
- 30:04Speaker 1: ankle problem that he missed the whole last year an
- 30:07Speaker 1: ankle injury. Good memory, Mark, You're right, yeah, I mean
- 30:10Speaker 1: do you think, thanks Mark, Do you think the Patriots,
- 30:13Speaker 1: the way that they run their running back room, would
- 30:16Speaker 1: play him enough to give him the opportunity to be
- 30:19Speaker 1: a three down back or is it just there's not
- 30:21Speaker 1: three down backs in this offense anymore, there's only guys
- 30:23Speaker 1: that play roles. I do think they're never used for
- 30:26Speaker 1: three backs. I just don't think they would use one
- 30:29Speaker 1: exclusively throughout the game, right, do you know, yeah that
- 30:32Speaker 1: makes sense. No, No, I know how many times did
- 30:34Speaker 1: you see last year like, oh, it's a Stevenson series now,
- 30:38Speaker 1: like Harris played the first two series and here comes Stevenson. Yeah.
- 30:41Speaker 1: I think both of those guys can be three down guys.
- 30:45Speaker 1: But I think that they're not going to just say
- 30:47Speaker 1: this guy's gonna play seventy snaps on offense today. I
- 30:50Speaker 1: don't think they do that. But do you think that
- 30:52Speaker 1: there's a guy or an argument to be made that
- 30:54Speaker 1: if we did give him seventy percent of the snaps,
- 30:57Speaker 1: he might be the best running back in the league, know, like,
- 31:00Speaker 1: like if you had that kind of guy, Oh, I
- 31:02Speaker 1: think you know, I think this is like, well, we
- 31:04Speaker 1: love you, Marshall, but we're going to keep the rotation
- 31:06Speaker 1: going and Steven's going to start the game. And I
- 31:08Speaker 1: think if they had a guy that they thought was
- 31:11Speaker 1: the special talent, Bill is it? Yeah. Bill was alluded
- 31:14Speaker 1: to it in different ways at different positions. If we
- 31:17Speaker 1: had a guy like that, you know, I think they would.
- 31:19Speaker 1: I just don't think that they would necessarily target a
- 31:21Speaker 1: guy like that. Um, we'll go back to the twenty
- 31:24Speaker 1: eighteen draft, and this is one of my favorite drafts
- 31:27Speaker 1: to pick apart. Everybody focuses because of what happened this
- 31:31Speaker 1: week with Baker Mayfield and Sam down one and three? Right,
- 31:34Speaker 1: who was two? Forget sa Quon Barkley, Yeah, for the
- 31:39Speaker 1: and my form, my mind, one of the worst picks
- 31:42Speaker 1: in recent draft memory. I just don't think that there's
- 31:46Speaker 1: any value in that whatsoever. And like to that point,
- 31:49Speaker 1: I could never see Bill saying this guy is so
- 31:53Speaker 1: special I'm going to take because he knows the durability
- 31:57Speaker 1: problems at that position. Barkley has the talent to be
- 32:00Speaker 1: the second overall pick, right, I don't. I mean, I
- 32:02Speaker 1: think when you've seen him at his at his peak,
- 32:04Speaker 1: you understand completely why he went number two overall. But
- 32:08Speaker 1: that position is just so hard to be durable and
- 32:11Speaker 1: to stay at that level of production. He's done nothing
- 32:14Speaker 1: the last two years. It's just it's just an interesting
- 32:17Speaker 1: thing to think about if a guy, you know, like
- 32:19Speaker 1: Stevenson makes a huge leap years two that year, right,
- 32:23Speaker 1: he was in the top five, He was in the
- 32:26Speaker 1: top five. I think he was two. I think he
- 32:28Speaker 1: went between Yeah, he was Mayfield and Donolds. You're probably right,
- 32:32Speaker 1: And how many games has he played? And you know,
- 32:34Speaker 1: and and again it goes like six hundred yards combined
- 32:36Speaker 1: the last two Like McCaffrey. You know, these guys that
- 32:40Speaker 1: you base your whole offense. Like, so, I understand why
- 32:42Speaker 1: you would want to have a lot of running backs.
- 32:43Speaker 1: I just wonder if you're you're let's go limiting your
- 32:45Speaker 1: breakout opportunities because it's all roll. Let's do a draft
- 32:48Speaker 1: in hidesight, though, Paul, if you knew Curtis Smartin was
- 32:52Speaker 1: going to have the career he had, would you draft
- 32:54Speaker 1: him at number two? Yeah? In nineteen ninety five when
- 32:58Speaker 1: he got drafted, maybe I would have, But I wouldn't today,
- 33:01Speaker 1: not in today's and that that but that's me. That's
- 33:04Speaker 1: a that's a Paul hang up, you know that? Right?
- 33:06Speaker 1: Like I think he's like the classic end of the
- 33:09Speaker 1: first round pick. Now, like we're a team that was close.
- 33:13Speaker 1: They just kind of can spend that on a running back.
- 33:15Speaker 1: I mean I guess he went to number two over Yeah,
- 33:19Speaker 1: there is so interesting. Would you take Curtis Smartin number
- 33:24Speaker 1: two overall in today's NFL? I mean, I'm assuming I
- 33:34Speaker 1: don't need a quarter quarter. I don't need a quarterback.
- 33:36Speaker 1: I might and I knew that he was gonna have
- 33:39Speaker 1: the career he's had. I might yeah, I mean yeah,
- 33:42Speaker 1: feel pretty good about your offensive line too. You put
- 33:44Speaker 1: it that way, like you know he's gonna have there,
- 33:47Speaker 1: like yeah, so not only you know he's gonna be productive,
- 33:49Speaker 1: you know he's gonna be durable, but that but probably,
- 33:51Speaker 1: but that is the danger of taking a running back high.
- 33:55Speaker 1: You're right, you actually convinced me. Like, if you're gonna
- 33:58Speaker 1: say it like that, you know he's gonna do exactly
- 34:01Speaker 1: what he did. Yeah, then how can you um, Anthony
- 34:06Speaker 1: writes in web radio at Patriots dot com. Since there
- 34:08Speaker 1: is almost nothing going on, let's have some interesting Patriots
- 34:12Speaker 1: theme questions. I love the questions. Would you like my favorite?
- 34:16Speaker 1: Would you trade all the losses in Super Bowls in
- 34:19Speaker 1: the Brady era for wins? But the team moved to
- 34:22Speaker 1: Connecticut back when that was a possibility, So it's the
- 34:25Speaker 1: Hartford Patriots winning ten s. Menots out here they would
- 34:30Speaker 1: still be the New England Patriots. Yeah, I'd do it, Yeah,
- 34:33Speaker 1: I do it. Ten super Bowls's be living on the
- 34:35Speaker 1: cape though you'd be living in My life would be different.
- 34:38Speaker 1: I'll give you a funny story when there was a
- 34:41Speaker 1: you know, a good chance they were going to move
- 34:44Speaker 1: to Hartford. I went down to Hartford to kind of
- 34:47Speaker 1: scout it out because I'm gonna have to be living here.
- 34:50Speaker 1: And some walk around the city and five o'clock comes
- 34:54Speaker 1: up and the place just shutters up. So I'm walking
- 34:57Speaker 1: around this like dead zone, like five thirty, and all
- 35:02Speaker 1: these like religious people are walking up to me, Hey,
- 35:05Speaker 1: do you need any help because they assume anyone walking
- 35:07Speaker 1: around the city is just a lost soul. Right, and
- 35:12Speaker 1: it's like six pm. You know, it's not like this
- 35:15Speaker 1: was like one o'clock of the morning. Any anyone walking
- 35:18Speaker 1: around this city at six pm must be a lost soul.
- 35:21Speaker 1: At least let us give you a tie, pencer, please.
- 35:24Speaker 1: But I mean, if you look at it, like so wherever,
- 35:27Speaker 1: I mean, it might be a little different for you
- 35:29Speaker 1: might because you live so close to the stadium, But
- 35:31Speaker 1: like for Fred and I, like we'd never really lived
- 35:34Speaker 1: exceptionally close to here. You know, before you move, you know,
- 35:37Speaker 1: you lived in rent them for years. But like I'm
- 35:40Speaker 1: in Everett, So the stadium to me is was forty
- 35:44Speaker 1: five minutes away, So it becomes you know, I don't know,
- 35:48Speaker 1: seventy minutes away. If it's in Hartford. Like, what's the
- 35:51Speaker 1: difference for me? Yeah, I guess still the New England Patriots.
- 35:54Speaker 1: Now if it moved to like Birmingham, now that's different.
- 35:58Speaker 1: It's not our team anymore. Rights, But that's what I meant.
- 36:02Speaker 1: Did I say, Yeah, you said Birmingham, Alabama? It was
- 36:06Speaker 1: it was that was my bed. It was the Saint
- 36:08Speaker 1: Louis Stallions, wasn't it right? That's why I said Birmingham.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Come on the Birmingham Stallions at USFL. I think it's
- 36:14Speaker 1: a little bit um just loving this location right here.
- 36:18Speaker 1: I mean every time I drive up that hill, I
- 36:20Speaker 1: flashed back to my first time going to that old stadium.
- 36:23Speaker 1: I think you might be though, you might be the
- 36:25Speaker 1: only person in Massachusetts that thinks this is the ideal location.
- 36:30Speaker 1: Like if it was moving out of Boston to Hartford,
- 36:32Speaker 1: that would be different. Yeah, that would be different. But
- 36:35Speaker 1: staying five moving from one like remote outpost to another,
- 36:38Speaker 1: to me, yeah, same same. Would you have traded Tom
- 36:41Speaker 1: Brady to the Jets after the two thousand and seventeen
- 36:44Speaker 1: season for five first round picks let's assume they still
- 36:48Speaker 1: never win a Super Bowl but are in the playoffs. No,
- 36:50Speaker 1: I would not know, not the Jets. I would not
- 36:53Speaker 1: have traded Tom Brady under any circumstances five first round picks.
- 36:58Speaker 1: I wouldn't, but it's tempting. You know my you know
- 37:00Speaker 1: my old one. I would have traded him from Matthew Stafford.
- 37:06Speaker 1: If you could bring back any ex Patriot player to
- 37:09Speaker 1: play for the twenty twenty two season, who would you choose?
- 37:12Speaker 1: Must be a still active player and not Tom still
- 37:16Speaker 1: active Patriot, former Patriot. Yeah, that you would take for
- 37:20Speaker 1: this team? Yeah, still active. Excellent question. Jase Jackson cooks
- 37:27Speaker 1: Cook Jase Jackson. I was gonna say Gilmore, but he's
- 37:32Speaker 1: kind of old now. But I mean, just look at
- 37:34Speaker 1: the positions they need, cornerback, linebacker, outside linebacker. I mean,
- 37:38Speaker 1: I don't think there's any linebackers out there that I
- 37:40Speaker 1: really covet that were former Patriots. Jase Jackson, it's pretty
- 37:45Speaker 1: high on the list. Um, I don't know. Yeah, he
- 37:50Speaker 1: says his choice would be Chandler Jones. Chandler. I would
- 37:55Speaker 1: take Chandler Jones. And finally, do you think a player
- 37:57Speaker 1: like one Rick Meyer, Ryan Lee for example, couple would
- 38:00Speaker 1: have been better in his career if drafted on a
- 38:03Speaker 1: better team or drafted into a competent coaching staff. Another example,
- 38:08Speaker 1: if Mahomes had been drafted in Chicago at number two,
- 38:11Speaker 1: in Trubisky at number ten, is Mahomes still Mahomes? Is
- 38:14Speaker 1: Trubisky better? I think Trubisky's better, but Mahomes is still Mahomes.
- 38:19Speaker 1: I don't think you can be just completely a product
- 38:22Speaker 1: of coaching to be that great. Yeh Tyreek Hill though,
- 38:25Speaker 1: I mean the web, I mean it's hard hard to say.
- 38:30Speaker 1: I mean, like you would have had guys to play
- 38:32Speaker 1: with him. Yeah, and I think he makes those guys personally.
- 38:35Speaker 1: But we'll see. All right, We're gonna take a break,
- 38:37Speaker 1: eat some food. By the way, I don't have an email,
- 38:40Speaker 1: but um, it was who in Canada? But Chris who
- 38:47Speaker 1: what lunch today? For us? It was Pete and in Canada,
- 38:52Speaker 1: Pete and Lancaster into Canada, so I think it's he
- 38:55Speaker 1: also used to go by Pete and Ottawa, if I'm
- 38:58Speaker 1: not mistaken. So Pete, thank you for the lunch. We're

- 49:55Speaker 1: said is that he's more valuable to the Patriots, because
- 49:58Speaker 1: that's right, and that's nothing to do with age. But
- 50:00Speaker 1: at his age, he has less to contribute to another
- 50:03Speaker 1: team at I agree. Then that's why I don't think
- 50:08Speaker 1: because he's old. About two minutes later he was more
- 50:13Speaker 1: valuable to another teams. Why because he is on? You
- 50:20Speaker 1: can't even answer, you know, forget it. It's it's over.
- 50:23Speaker 1: It's okay, so ding ding ding, it's over. Let's move on.
- 50:27Speaker 1: About five minutes later, thanks, ridiculously, this is what happened.
- 50:31Speaker 1: You can't have it. You can't have an argument because
- 50:33Speaker 1: you can't. Thank you. You're not allowed to disagree with Fred.
- 50:36Speaker 1: Thank you. You're not allowed don't disagree. Thank thanks for
- 50:41Speaker 1: giving me credit for that. Don't disagree Fred, I'm sorry.
- 50:44Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Did I hurt your feelings by disagreeing with you?
- 50:47Speaker 1: I'm shot. I don't think I sound like the one
- 50:50Speaker 1: who's upset here. Oh no, oh no, you very much
- 50:54Speaker 1: sound like the one who's upset. That's ridiculous. That's ridiculous,
- 50:58Speaker 1: that's ridiculous. We just like I know, I mean, it's
- 51:02Speaker 1: like it's like I have to put down a vampire.
- 51:04Speaker 1: Exactly bad. That it's silly. That's another great moment from
- 51:15Speaker 1: as we have to say after those great okay, yeah,
- 51:18Speaker 1: not so great. Um. Another fun question comes in on
- 51:23Speaker 1: Web Brady, a Patriots dot com kareem in Boston, UM says,
- 51:27Speaker 1: according to Pro Football Reference, who was the second highest
- 51:31Speaker 1: weighted career approximate value, which is a measure for career success.
- 51:36Speaker 1: The Patriots, uh have drafted behind Tom Brady, so obviously
- 51:41Speaker 1: Tom Brady was the highest. Yeah. No, mccordy. No, it's
- 51:48Speaker 1: someone you'll never guess, and it's a guy who I'll
- 51:51Speaker 1: give you a hinda. They drafted him in the first round,
- 51:54Speaker 1: but he never played for the Patriots. M hm m hmmm.
- 52:02Speaker 1: Patriots drafted the guy in the first round that never played,
- 52:04Speaker 1: and he never played for the team under Belichick. No, oh,
- 52:10Speaker 1: this is year, years and years and years ago. I've
- 52:13Speaker 1: lost interest in fran Tarkington. Okay, he was drafted, but
- 52:17Speaker 1: back then they had the AFL and the NFL, so
- 52:20Speaker 1: he went to the Patriots drafted him, but in the
- 52:23Speaker 1: NFL draft he went yeah, yeah, well that's the that's
- 52:27Speaker 1: what happened with John Morris, the Patriots guy that I
- 52:29Speaker 1: interviewed for my for my game day thing. He was
- 52:31Speaker 1: drafted by the Packers and the Patriots, and he chose
- 52:33Speaker 1: the Patriots. And I was about to write in the
- 52:35Speaker 1: piece like he made the right decision, but that I
- 52:38Speaker 1: was like, did he He could have had a couple
- 52:42Speaker 1: of Super Bowls, but he had a Hall of Fame career. Here.
- 52:45Speaker 1: What do you think Drew Bledsoe falls on this list?
- 52:48Speaker 1: What number? Oh ten? Yeah? Higher ten to twenty four,
- 52:53Speaker 1: lower five five five, So it's pretty good. Interesting guy
- 53:00Speaker 1: who sucks? Yeah, come according to many no, uh, pats
- 53:04Speaker 1: an agawam on the A sticket outline? What's up aat
- 53:08Speaker 1: o gentlemen? Hey Patty? Hey, so Fred? I just I
- 53:13Speaker 1: don't know if you could answer these questions. Had the
- 53:17Speaker 1: Patriots almost moving to Hartford? But if I'm not mistaken,
- 53:21Speaker 1: they were. They were supposed to be like way around
- 53:24Speaker 1: the evening landing section. Correct, Uh, that's where the new
- 53:29Speaker 1: stadium is, right, That's where the Yukon Stadium is, Rechler Field.
- 53:33Speaker 1: Isn't that Adrian's landing? I think that I recall that's
- 53:36Speaker 1: the name of it. The problem there was there were
- 53:39Speaker 1: a lot of contingencies in the deal that they had
- 53:42Speaker 1: with Roland who was the governor at the time, and
- 53:45Speaker 1: part of it, you know, they had to clean up
- 53:47Speaker 1: there was a lot of chemical waste at that site
- 53:50Speaker 1: and it had to be cleaned up by a certain time.
- 53:53Speaker 1: So there were a lot of outs that the Patriots
- 53:55Speaker 1: had that they took advantage of when the time came
- 53:58Speaker 1: when they finally got a little bit of infrastructure money
- 54:01Speaker 1: from the state in Massachusetts. But I think Adrian's Landing
- 54:05Speaker 1: was the name of the location. I think patties that,
- 54:08Speaker 1: I think that sounds right. Yeah, and just um, anyone
- 54:12Speaker 1: that's been to a game in foxbro those that it's
- 54:15Speaker 1: couldn't be a nightmare to get out. But I couldn't
- 54:18Speaker 1: imagine logistically trying to get out of that area of Hartford.
- 54:21Speaker 1: And my last question, I don't think it'd be any
- 54:24Speaker 1: worse than here. I mean here, it'd be better than here,
- 54:27Speaker 1: at least at least in that area. You were on
- 54:30Speaker 1: the intersection of a like three highways. Here it's it's
- 54:34Speaker 1: one or one. That's it. Yeah. I don't know enough
- 54:39Speaker 1: about the area I do to say, yeah, did they
- 54:43Speaker 1: ever have the discussion, And if they had it, it it
- 54:47Speaker 1: was probably measured in nano seconds of moving the team
- 54:49Speaker 1: to Western mass from Field. Um, I'm not sure. I
- 54:53Speaker 1: don't think so. I don't think there was a Providence
- 54:56Speaker 1: was in the running for sure. Um they made a
- 55:00Speaker 1: bid to get never heard of any plan to go west. No, No,
- 55:04Speaker 1: it was Hartford, Providence and of course a couple locations
- 55:08Speaker 1: in Boston that they were talking about. I'm glad they
- 55:12Speaker 1: stuck where they were, Okay, Um, an's a question for
- 55:18Speaker 1: you guys. How different do you think life would be
- 55:20Speaker 1: if the Patriots had eventually built a you know, a
- 55:23Speaker 1: beautiful stadium in Boston. I don't probably similar. I don't
- 55:29Speaker 1: know what would have changed. I don't know. I'm just wondering.
- 55:32Speaker 1: Like it's hard to say they'd be bigger than what
- 55:34Speaker 1: they were when they exactly what they are now, Like
- 55:37Speaker 1: think winning no matter what, I mean, it might it
- 55:40Speaker 1: might have. It might have helped them a little bit,
- 55:42Speaker 1: just the access. I think, you know, maybe uh maybe
- 55:45Speaker 1: a slight slightly bigger draw for a free agent not
- 55:48Speaker 1: having a land in Boston then drive out here. I
- 55:50Speaker 1: don't know. I'm just I mean, you could make the
- 55:52Speaker 1: argument that maybe there's a guy that said Jesson not
- 55:55Speaker 1: even in the city, I don't know, but I can't
- 55:57Speaker 1: imagine it would have hurt in anyway, right, No, I
- 56:00Speaker 1: don't think so. I'm wondering though, Like with you know,
- 56:03Speaker 1: a glitzy city stadium would have been less pressure. But
- 56:07Speaker 1: it's not like they had to look for Tom Brady
- 56:09Speaker 1: and pay a lot of money to get a starting quarterback.
- 56:12Speaker 1: They kind of stumbled on him, So probably things would
- 56:15Speaker 1: be the same. From a winning standpoint, I would think, yeah, yeah,
- 56:19Speaker 1: where was the stadium was? Like one of the spots
- 56:21Speaker 1: was like where that Gillette building is now, like in
- 56:22Speaker 1: the South South That was one area in South Boston. Um,
- 56:28Speaker 1: it's where a lot of cars get dropped off from
- 56:31Speaker 1: overseas and it's like this huge area. They were gonna
- 56:34Speaker 1: take over that space. Yeah that's right. I mean that
- 56:37Speaker 1: traffic would have been right, yeah, right, yeah. Yeah, need
- 56:45Speaker 1: some public transportation too to get to get down there.
- 56:48Speaker 1: I always loved the stories about the free agents that
- 56:50Speaker 1: would say, like, either guys get drafted, they don't know
- 56:52Speaker 1: where New England even is, Like they don't know where
- 56:55Speaker 1: Foxborough is that you know, they're driving through the forest
- 56:58Speaker 1: and all of a sudden they're out here. I always
- 57:00Speaker 1: think some of those are a little yeah, sort of exactly,
- 57:04Speaker 1: like I mean Foxborough No, I mean, why would you
- 57:06Speaker 1: know where Foxborough is? If you are well in New England,
- 57:08Speaker 1: you better know. I think most people six, I think
- 57:12Speaker 1: most people know where New England is, well, you know roughly,
- 57:16Speaker 1: well you know, um, I'll give you know, like we
- 57:19Speaker 1: we know New England. But you know, there's like in
- 57:23Speaker 1: South Carolina there's this area called the Research Triangle, you know,
- 57:28Speaker 1: and like it's well known down there. But like if
- 57:31Speaker 1: you ask somebody up here, you know, where's the Research Triangle?
- 57:34Speaker 1: I don't think they'd know Carolinas, you know, because you're well,
- 57:37Speaker 1: you're well read, Yeah, you're well traveled. But a lot
- 57:41Speaker 1: of these guys aren't well traveled. They knew where they
- 57:44Speaker 1: came from and where they played college football, right and
- 57:46Speaker 1: I and there's no question like if you asked some
- 57:49Speaker 1: guy who got drafted, like where's Foxborough, I'm gonna need
- 57:54Speaker 1: a little more information. Foxborough masks okay, yeah, Northeast. Yes,
- 58:00Speaker 1: I think if you ask someone where New England is, yeah, again,
- 58:04Speaker 1: when I say everybody, right, I'm sure there's somebody. I'm
- 58:07Speaker 1: sure there's somebody that was drafted by the Patriots. That
- 58:10Speaker 1: legitimately didn't know where New England was most people. But
- 58:13Speaker 1: I think most people knew oheast part of the country.
- 58:17Speaker 1: But if you had to pick where the stadium actually
- 58:19Speaker 1: is at a Mapam, Massachusetts, but I'll bet you could do.
- 58:22Speaker 1: And I'll bet you most people who have never been
- 58:24Speaker 1: to New England, if you ask them what states comprised
- 58:27Speaker 1: New England, they may not get that right, they might.
- 58:29Speaker 1: I mean Mike can't get it. Yeah, he's lived here. Um.
- 58:33Speaker 1: It is true though that some of these players who
- 58:35Speaker 1: played it, like Texas in Michigan, they came here with
- 58:38Speaker 1: the old Foxboro Stadium, is like, are you kidding me?
- 58:40Speaker 1: My high school stadiums. Absolutely that that's not exaggerated. I
- 58:45Speaker 1: mean Bledso said that, yeah yeah, and Bledso grew up
- 58:48Speaker 1: in the sticks. Yeah he didn't even play Texas school kids. Yeah. Um.
- 58:54Speaker 1: Sean of Vancouver writes in web radio at Patriots dot Com,
- 58:57Speaker 1: Baker Mayfield traded to the Panthers is all about the
- 59:00Speaker 1: upcoming Watson decision. For me, It's all about October sixteenth
- 59:04Speaker 1: in Cleveland. Will the Patriots faced Brissette Paul? Will this
- 59:08Speaker 1: be another everything always works out for the Patriots scenario?
- 59:12Speaker 1: This one is not really and everything works out for
- 59:14Speaker 1: the patriot scenario, Watson's going to get suspended like that.
- 59:17Speaker 1: That's going to affect everybody exactly, you know what I mean.
- 59:20Speaker 1: I put this on Cleveland for doing this last Oh yeah,
- 59:23Speaker 1: and I haven't listened. I really don't have any problem
- 59:25Speaker 1: with it. And my guess is they kind of expected it,
- 59:28Speaker 1: although he wouldn't have structured the contract the way they did.
- 59:31Speaker 1: I don't think that was an accident. Yeah, so I
- 59:34Speaker 1: think that they knew there was going to be a
- 59:37Speaker 1: huge potential hurdle to go before he was ever going
- 59:40Speaker 1: to get to play for them. But Mayfield doesn't have
- 59:43Speaker 1: anything to do with this. Mayfield was out of the
- 59:44Speaker 1: picture long time ago. I think that could be part
- 59:48Speaker 1: of a little early season hype train maybe if they
- 59:51Speaker 1: can bang out I mean at Packers is me a
- 59:53Speaker 1: tough one. But that little stretch of Lions at Browns Bears,
- 59:59Speaker 1: what do they do for that? Jets? What did they
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: do at Pittsburgh and home against Baltimore? Because if they lose,
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: If they lose those two games, I don't think anybody's
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: going to care about what they do against Detroit Chicago
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: and Watson was Cleveland. There were some big wins last
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: year over the Jets, and I think people learned. Yeah,
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: I think people are much more realistic. I really do.
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: I'm not saying that sarcastically at all. I think there's
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: been a lot of reality in you know. And I
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: haven't heard people saying four and thirteen. I hear people
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: saying what Fred says all the time, you know, eight, nine,
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: ten wins if things fall fall into place. I don't
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: think people were talking about like competing for a buy
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: and winning the division. I haven't heard a lot of
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: that odd from Putnam right sin and he says, for
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: Tamara's sake, I would like to put the soap with
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: a slot idea to rest um the reason soap with
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: a slot will never be made is due to the
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: soap manufacturing process. The shape of a soap is created
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: through molding. The shapes that most easily released release from
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: these molds are rounder soft features, hence the amorphous blob
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: shapes that most soaps have. In order to create a slot,
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: either a special mold would have to be made from
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: which removing the finished soap would be extremely difficult, or
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: the soap would have to be machine after the fact,
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: as we all know, soap is absurdly cheap, so even
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: just the addition of one more process would drive the
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: manufacturing costs of the soap up enough that the consumer
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: wouldn't see any cost saving benefits on their end from
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: not wasting soap. Although I know Fred is stubborn, I
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: hope this is enough reason to give up his dream
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: of slotted soap and maybe start working on a portable
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: sink to wash his hands without getting up from your couch.
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: Us all, it's not about saving money, it's about just
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: not wasting soap. And then you could say all that
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: you're quibbling, but it's just it's the convenience. The second
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: thing is if they can put toys in the middle
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: of soap, they can put a slot. I totally agree
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: with Fred on that. Yeah, I think you do too.
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: I think it's an easy manufacturer. And not all soap
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: is you know, contoured or what what the amorphous? I
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: mean some of them are just regular ivory soap as
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: an example, is just a regular block. I mean, it's
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: easy to put a slot in it, right, right, I
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: think that would be an easy way to man. You
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: could just hollow it out. But I don't like the
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: other reasons that he says why I'm not interested in
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: it at all, Like soap is quote absurdly cheap, Like
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: I'm not looking to you know, cut that, cut that
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: twenty seven cents and half twenty seven with that those
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: little heels of soap that are left that he wants
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: to save because he doesn't want to waste anything, which
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: is amazing given what he does for lunch every day. Um,
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: what are you saving? Man? But and it's also just
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: um piece of mind in that piece of you get
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: to that you get to that heel as Paul called it,
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: or wafer as other people call it. And this eliminates
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: the decision of what do I do. Do I throw
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: it away now and start the new bar, or do
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: I keep trying to get as much now? You don't
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: have to think about it, Just slide it in boom
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: I did when I when I used regular bar soap.
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: Uh that I had two There were two options. One
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: I remembered that I was down to the heel, threw
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: it out and got a new bar. Or two I
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: forgot and if I forgotten, I was in the shower
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: by the time I remembered. Whatever was left on that
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: heel got got it done. I would just find it
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: very satisfying to just slide that in and just know
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: that my I'm I'm done. No decision need it needs
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: to be made. Boy, Why don't you get Pete? There
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: any anybody any listeners from Procter and Gamble listening Pete
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: and Lemonster wants to friends at Procter and Gamble and Gillette.
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: Can can you help out a brother? Cycles? No soap
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: plase uh, Anthony writes it, um, he's from Seattle. Got
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: to thinking the other day when cousin Patty said, quote,
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: you can't go five hundred anymore with seventeen games, and
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: Paul promptly corrected him with Pittsburg somehow managed to. My
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: question is, theoretically, could a team make the playoffs at
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: oo and seventeen? And if so, how would you feel
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: about that team? No, you couldn't. No, No, I couldn't.
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: YEH could? I don't think you can mathematics me personally,
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: I think that the fact that in seventeen attempts, no
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: one could beat you outweighs the fact that you couldn't
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: beat anyone. There's tough games and everyone's schedule and those
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: seventeen games would include all of your toughest games, and
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: not one of them could beat you. If I were
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: a one seed, I wouldn't feel comfortable seeing that team
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: in the playoffs. Okay, so hypothetically, it's not as absurd
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: to think about this as he is. I mean, it
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: could never happen, obviously, But like, what what is that team?
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: Is that a good team or a bad team? That's
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: O in seventeen it's a mediocre one. Yeah, that's what
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: you gotta say. They're not terrible, They're good enough to
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: compete with everybody, not good enough to beat anyone. Yeah,
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: but no one could beat that. It's mediocre. You know
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: what it is. I'll be nice. I'm not gonna tell
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: you what it is off air, right well? Please? So
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: oh it's interesting, just dead. But he's still not gonna
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: get Pete in his soap with a slot. Uh comments
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: he's the guy that gave you the soap. Oh okay,
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: let's still let's get him on the phone. Pete and lemonster,
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: what's up? Pete got Paul? Paul? You're just really soured me.
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: It's a gym and lemonster? Well say it, says Pete
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: on the Yeah, you gotta blame Chris the Webb. I'm sorry, Jim.
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: I'm just going by what I read and and Chris
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: actually wrote in soap with a slot guy, So that's
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: why I said Fred should should talk to him. Yeah,
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: all right, well you know, and I'll even build you up, Paul,
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: because I was literally, are you're going to preface the
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: call with a little bit of soap? One oh one?
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: And I was listening to two Days episode and I
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: decided to chime in. And in the minute I was
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: on air, I heard you guys talking about the soap,
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: and I got to give you kudos for calling my
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: name like a person from Lemonster actually would. So that
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: was great. Okay, So Fred, you're asking about the uh
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: about the little slot, Well, it's not really a slot,
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: per say, It's more of like a wedge, right, oh yeah,
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: on your soap, it's it's it's you know, it's like
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: a little up on the top. Yeah, like soap to
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: coffee table book. Yeah, it becomes a coffee Yeah, it's
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: it's a soap with a soap dish. Yeah. You got
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: to get the wafer down to a certain point and
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: you just mesh it right in there. Little elbow grease
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: and it'll fit right there and it won't break apart
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: at all. Yeah, well you really need I think am
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: ways onto something. But I think they're missing the boat
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: by not making a slot much easier. No elbow grease needed.
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: Just slide it right, you gotta held it. You gotta
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: put some work. Yeah, no, you just got to take
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: it at a certain size and then it'll you know,
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: fit right in there. And just and just for the record,
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: I am not a member of the cult. I am
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: simply a customer, okay, all right, very good though, So
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: you you're a are you just are you a user
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: of the soap or did you just get this descent
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: to us because we were talking about Honest to god,
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: I actually do use it. I'm a combination of the
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: bar soap and uh, I do use the Gael as well.
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: I'm you know, I'm it's it's very fragrant. You're okay
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: with the fragrancy, Yeah, I mean, I actually I don't know,
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: find it kind of neutral, uh if that makes any sense.
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: It's not like, you know, uncented like gory would be.
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: But it's a little, you know, just a little bit okay,
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: all right, I offered m paula bar. He turned it down.
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: I did Tom turn it down. I don't use bars
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: of soap anymore. That's why I turned it down because
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: I'm scoffing at the the the little slot. Yeah, I
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: use bars of soap. Yeah, Hey, no problem, no harm,
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: no foul, Paul, Yeah, all the power to you. Man.
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: Well thanks, thanks a lot, Jim. I appreciate that. I
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: apologize listener interaction for calling you Pete. Yeah, Jim. Um.
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: Let's go to John at Duxbury. What's up John? All gentlemen,
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: how are you doing great? Just the two of you today,
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: three of us. I know it sounds like just me
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: and Paul, but juice is here. I am well, okay,
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: I thought that was going to go a different direction.
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: Zoned out on day seven of Soap of the Slot.
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: Sorry about that, dude. That's a shot. There's There's two
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: things I want to talk to you about. The first
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: thing I want to ask Paul, how does the NFL
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: validate Watson's contract when they know he intentionally tried to
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: circuit circumvent any financial penalties. I don't know how that
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: goes through. Well, it's not that the team did it.
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: If the team doesn't agree to do it that way.
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: Guilt the fact that he's tried to structure the contract
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: like that, No, I don't think so. I think that
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: the team could just as easily have said we want
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: to spread it out. It benefited the team too, right,
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: but nobody ever takes that shot money but the first year,
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: have you ever seen a contract like that? Oh? Yeah,
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: so Brady had it. So John is here. They did
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: it for Brady when he got suspended in two sixteen. Yeah,
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: so John, is your point that they knew something was
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: coming down, so that's why they did it. The answers, Yes, yeah, exactly. Yeah,
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: well that's exactly my point. Yeah, but it benefited who's
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: going to be suspended, so he didn't want to get
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: penalize the amount of money you should have been right.
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: So then so then the next question from that is
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: is that an emission of guilt? No, and you could
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: argue both sides of that. I don't think it has
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: anything to do with with guilt or no guilt. I
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: think it has to do with what's best for the team.
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: And they obviously they set it up that way because
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: it benefited them. But but I could make it, but
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: you could say, if Watson came to them with indisputed
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: evidence that I'm going to be innocent, they wouldn't need
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: to do that. No, but I think that there was
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: a reason for the team. I don't have the contract
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: in front of me, so I can't tell you what
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: it is. But my guess is it lowered the cap
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: number in year one and that's what they wanted. That's
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: my guest. I don't have it in front of me. All. Yeah,
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: but that's why the team did it, that's all. Like,
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: this is not like some big charity, like the team
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: said we're gonna do this to take care of the shop.
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: That maybe that helped them. Maybe that helped them convince
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: them to make the trade. And because remember when Watson
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: was sort of fielding offers from everybody, Remember it was
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: like Carolina, there was some talk of Miami, and all
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: of a sudden Cleveland came in. Well maybe this was
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: one of the things they used to win ticeon. Oh,
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: no doubt. So, like, what's wrong with that? You need
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: to get your guy? Yeah yeah, Okay. The other thing
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: is I want you guys all to voice your opinions
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: on this. Is I want you to tell me your
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: favorite sports nicknames. I'm going to give you three of them,
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: Miss Insiston. Way back was and wave him in Camp?
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: It was wave him home, Wendell you ruined the last one,
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: but all three of those are excellent. I like it
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: wa wave I'm in cam. I meant excuse me, you
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: could be right. You could be right on that one.
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: I like the way back wad it was good. Who's
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: that one? John Waden? What they get rid of? Oh? Yeah, no,
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: John's right? He was? He thanks boy? All right? Billy
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: white Shoes Johnson was always one of my favorite nicknames.
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: What was the vander Holyfields? The real deal, the real deal? Yeah, um,
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: the goat, Tom Brady, the goat go well he earned that.
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: But yeah, prime time? What about prime time? Is that
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: a good What's an all time one? That's an all
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: time one? That's a really good one. Um? I think
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: who else? I like how we had all negative ones?
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: Two tall Gentle. Yeah, that's a famous one. Yeah, I
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: don't know, I have to think about it. The Snake
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: Kenny Stabler, snake, you know. Yeah, hockey nickname is always
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: just to just take his last name and put yeah,
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: puty and then and then if it has a y,
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: you take the while take it off. Um Todd writes
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: in from North Carolina. Moving forward with paul statement that
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: a team needs stars and it is best to have
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: a superstar, I have a couple up follow up. I
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: have a couple follow up questions. One, how many stars
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: on defense do you need to overcome a superstar less offense?
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: Think eighty five Bears. I mean you need a I
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: mean you need a game changer for sure. I mean
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: that's you know, look at look at the Ravens defense
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: in two thousand that won it like that, you know,
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: I mean there's just silent everywhere and guys that can overcome.
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: But I think he needed some kind of balance. It
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: can't be so one side. Yeah, and again I'm glad
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: this didn't go in this direction. Like I'm not telling
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: you that you can't. Like, there's no way you can
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: win other than doing it this way. There's a million
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: different ways to win. There are allion exceptions to every rule. Recently,
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: we had the twenty fifteen Broncos when with a defensive
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: dominant team like it can happen, Yeah, it can happen,
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: but it was an immensely talented defense to the To
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: the emailer's point, how many stars do you need on
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: offense to overcome a superstar less defense so you can't
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: you can't stop the other team? Yeah? Two or three?
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: I mean you have a great quarterback. I mean, if
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: you have the quarterback and then you you have the offense,
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: so now you're in every game. Now you have a
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: chance to win every game whether your defense is good
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: or not. But do we have an example of a
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: team who just had an absolutely lousy defense in one
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: at all? I mean the eleven Patriots came pretty close.
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: I'd argue the Chiefs a couple of years ago. Yeah, okay,
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: but you know the numbers would probably tell you that
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: that defense was pretty good, right. It's just like some
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: of the Patriots defenses that over the years were you
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: know last year, Yeah the Patriots finish on defense last
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: year fourth? Yeah, you know it's they didn't force a
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: punt in two games. I haven't heard that. Fred told me.
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: I see this year as a team with no superstars,
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: but maybe a few stars on both sides of the ball.
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: This is why I think the team is going to
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: go nine and eight, or, if really lucky, ten and seven,
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: but with no playoff run. I just think you really
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: need a couple guys, at least at least two guys
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: to emerge and be I don't have to be stars,
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: but they have to be plus playmakers and big moments
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: that they're the guys who get the job done. I agree,
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: you know, I think that's I think you have to
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: have guys that the other team needs to game plan
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: for sure. I mean, and as you're you know, if
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: you're having good games and you know, geez, this guy's
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: a problem. I mean, I think Barnmore is a guy
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: that more and more is this season progresses, and probably
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: already offensive lines are gonna say, this guy's a handful.
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: We have to be kind of aware of him, you know,
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: not to say that that you can't stop him if
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: you want. But that's where I think it comes with
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: the counterpunches and all right, they're gonna go up, they're
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: gonna circle Jude On and they're gonna circle Barmore and
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: then they're gonna say what else? What else is there? Yeah,
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: And they're circling those guys because they're the best of
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: what the Patriots have. Like, I think those guys could
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: be on other teams and they wouldn't be guys that
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: are getting circles. Yeah, well, I mean I have hope
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: that Barmore could be But I have hope. I agree
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: with you, jud because I got your circle right, right,
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: And you know they had good defenses, you know, and
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: he's been a good player, right, you know we need
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: to be aware of him. Yeah, we all knew Matthew
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: Judon was before the Patriots signed him. It's not like
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: he was a stiff. He was. He's a good player,
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: and I still think he's a good player. But like
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: nothing that happened last year, said oh Man that they
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: whipped on him. No, I think he's a good player, right.
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: Roger and Saint Louis quick game. Pick one of the
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: group of three Spielberg movies, Jurassic Park, Raiders, The Lost Dark,
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: or Jaws Raiders. I could take Raiders, but I Chaws
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: this Jaws, Yeah, I Jaws was good, but Raiders, like
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: it just made me feel good to you know the song,
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: It's like, wow, this is what this is what going
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: to the movie should be like, you know, gangster movies,
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: good Fellas, Godfather one, or Casino good Fellas. I'm gonna
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: go Godfather one, but that's tough, but good good Fellas
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: and Godfather, Casino I didn't really like as much. I
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: like Casino, but it wasn't as good as the other two.
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: I would go Godfather too, It's just too classic depressing
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: Boston movies. The verdict Spotlight or Mystic River. Mystic River.
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: Mistic River was a tremendous movie. Was so dark, tremendously dark. Yeah,
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: I felt so bad at the end. I did too,
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: Oh my god. But I'll tell you another one. Manchester
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: by the Sea. I heard that, Oh my god, you
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: want to feel bad after a movie. I heard that's
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: really tough to watch. I've never seen it. That's a
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: kind of movie that. That was a great movie, but
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: I never ever want to see it again, you know.
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: Or it was so sad. My Way Gone, Baby Gone
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: would be kind of in for me. In that dark Boston.
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: That was a movie. When it was over, you like
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: really felt bad about yourself. Yeah. But that Mystic River, Yeah,
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: it was just like you walk out of the theory,
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: you're just drained. Yeah. Yeah, he was so good in that. Yeah,
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: he's good in everything he does. Really. Um And finally,
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: sports movies, Rounders, Moneyball, Jerry Maguire, Rounders. I think I
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: saw him round really Yeah, I brought that up a
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: couple of times on the show, just talking about Edward
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: Norton and just he's such a great you just want
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: that's the guy. Guy you want to be friends with them. Yeah,
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: you really try hard to be friends with them, but
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: he just doesn't let you be his friend. Yeah. Well,
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: and everything compared it to the town, you know with
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: with Jeremy jem same kind of guy. It's my buddy.
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: I love this guy, but he's ruining my life. Nat
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: and DC writes in surprise that none of you, especially Fred,
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: have been watching the HBO show Barry. It is, without
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: a doubt, the best thing on television for the last
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: few years. Bill Hayter plays a neurotic hitman enough set
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: I have him s. I remember reading the script when
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: when they first made it and thinking it was really
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: funny and being intrigued, and I still thought about going
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: back to it, But this is the first time anybody's
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: really highlighted it for me. But he's awesome, and yeah
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: I heard he goes like acting classes, and yeah, I
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: don't know where it goes after the pilot, but but
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: I really enjoyed reading it. Maybe I should give it
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: a try. Anyway, a lot has been made a match
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: performance down the stretch. Do we think he hit a
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: wall because of the length of the season in draft process,
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: did he hit a wall? I mean, I think Paul
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: touched on that last time. I mean I don't think
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: it was necessarily Max wall. Maybe maybe a little bit,
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: but the team hit the wall. And I don't think
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: he was ever in a position really to be successful.
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: It wasn't like, oh hey, we came out, the defense
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: got to stop. You know, it's a chance for the
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: Mac to put up some points early on. It was
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: like other offense came out, they went right down the field,
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: they scored, were in seven zip. You know, Mac maybe
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: puts a little drive together, they screw up, they punted.
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: The other team scores is fourteen nothing. And I do
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: think there was some signs that he hit a little
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: bit of a wall. I think that was part of it.
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: I think it's part of it for all rookies. I
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: think it happens all the time. The one thing that
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: I would say I don't think gets any attention or
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: not nearly enough, is how much, if any of the
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: drop in production had to do with how he was defended.
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: Like after you know, eight ten, twelve weeks, teams said, Okay,
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: this is what they're doing. Yeah, and they don't like
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: this is the whole thing about it. I don't think
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: they have guys that throw any fear into you offensively, like,
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: all right, we can do these, these kinds of blitzes
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: will work. These kinds of blitzes. He's gonna pick them
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: up and he's gonna he's gonna make the quick throw
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: and he's gonna get it out to the back in
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: time to move the chains and we don't have to
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: really worry about anything getting over our heads because they
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: don't do that. And then we can slam down. You know.
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: It's kind of like the whole oh nine thing. You know,
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: you take away welcome underneath and slim you're double moss
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: over the top and where we go. Yeah, I see
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: the indie game, and that was with Brady. The indie
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: game a little bit of an inflection point where it
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: felt a little bit like kind of overmatched, like we
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: just couldn't match the energy that Indie brought into that game.
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: And that was and that was really just an okay
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: teen too. I felt like very similarly about Miami, and
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: I know everybody chucks up Miami to Brian Floor as
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: well as he's so good and he knows what I
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: think everybody did that. Everybody down the stretch did what
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: Miami did. To your point, it was the same pattern
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: in the two Buffalo games, the Indie game and in
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: the Miami game. It was the same pattern, right with
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: a little interstitial of hey, we just hammered the Jags
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: by fifty. Pat says about lousy defenses that wanted all
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: the O six colts historically bad run d and past
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: defense wasn't that good either. I'm glad he brought that
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: out because that was what I was thinking about. I
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: was gonna be find that exact team. But I think
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: that that's another example of just like sometimes it's not
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: about when you look back at the stats of where
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: they ranked, like that defense was getting hammered and then
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: Bob Sanders came back and now they're good and they
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: played great four games. Who helped them when the mistaken
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: for Booker McFarland, who got the run defense sort of
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: you know, uh improved and Bob Sanders, I think, played
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: four games in the regular season something absurd like, and
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: that's a Player of the Year. That's why it's just
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: so hard and so much of you know, trying to
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: go back and say how good were these teams, It's
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: like it's it's sometimes it's just teams, and I would
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: say not even sometimes like a lot of the time,
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: it's just the team that really starts to click and
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: it all comes and whatever they did during the regular season,
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: you know, it doesn't really matter. I mean, I think
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: even the eleven Patriots team, I wasn't expecting them to
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: be able to compete all the way to the Super Bowl,
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: especially against the Ravens team, but you know, they made
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: enough plays. Paul's guys sterling more with that great you know,
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: past defense. Of course, so I could, but you know,
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: it's just I think he gets so caught up in
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: like the stats and the rankings of how good this
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: defense was last year and they were, oh they were
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: the sixth defensive devio. It's like it's just specific games.
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: How did they play, Did they make the big plays
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: when it came down to the make or break plays.
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: They're the team that made it. Nothing about the regular
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: season and how they their third down defense or their
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: rushed defense, you know, dvo way, none of that really matters.
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: And that's how you play too, you know. It's I agree.
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: I think the six Colts had a bad defense and
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: they won it all. But in the playoffs the defense
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: wasn't bad. And I'm I don't have all the specifics
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: in front of me chions, I guess like a couple
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: of years ago against Kansas City, you know, Kansas City,
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: I don't think it was a great defense, but I
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: bet you they played pretty well down the stretching in
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: the playoffs. Because it's hard to win when one side
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: of the ball is really really wretchedly bad. It can happen,
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: but it's hard to win when one side is just
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: really really bad. And how many people went into the
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: six champion AFC Championship halftime and we're like, this Colts
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: defense sucks. We're rolling them. It's twenty one to whatever six,
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: like real, you know, like if you look at how
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: the points were scored in that game. Well, but but
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: I'm saying like, if you're going to that game thinking
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: that that's a bad defense, then you feel like we're
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: in pretty good shape, like this is, you know, but
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: that's not what it was. This is. Then all of
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: a sudden, they kick in, they start making some plays,
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: and we know how they sealed it. They got the picks,
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: so they really didn't get all those points off of
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: the defense, and they had like a lock that I
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: get the specifics of how they score. I just want
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: I just wanted to show you that I knew. You're like, oh,
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: are they going to kick in now and get the
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: stops that they need to get Peyton Manning back. I mean,
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: of course, just like when I make Mike's eyes bug
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: out of his head, I was like, how does you
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: remember these things? We both have some weird memories of
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: that that season. Matt writes in um, did you guys
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: see the Chris Sale incident last night? He trashed the
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: Woe Socks locker room after a bad rehab start. How
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: much longer do you do the Socks put up with
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: his huge contract and injuries. They have shipped off guys
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: in the past, like Beckett, but that was with theo
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: as GM. That's ridiculous. We were talking about that before
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: the show. I think they would ship them off if
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: they could. It's like such nonsense, you know, tearing up
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: somebody else's you know, cuts clubhouse, Like what are you doing? Right?
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: I know, what are you doing? But like you kind
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: of a guess it's a new stadium, it's a new team,
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: like you're just there to rehab and where I mean
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: walk five straight guys or something like that. Last night.
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: I get why he's mad. But and you guys know me,
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: I mean, I'm a baby, like I could never I
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: mean I would like absolutely like getting get back to
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: the dugout and like slam my glove into the but
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: like back and like, you know, knock a phone off
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: like Big Poppy didn't in Baltimore that you know, several
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: years ago, like the last time he was a consistent
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: effective pitcher in the major leagues, Like I feel like
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: it was like four or five years ago, right eighteen? Maybe, yeah,
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: it's I still feel like he's a relic of what
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: you talk about, Paul, where like don't let guys go
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: through the cycle twice and you got starting pitchers going
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: three innings. Like it feels like he's still that old
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: school like we need seven eight innings out of you,
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: like you know, and you don't get him, But I
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: don't know. I that was. I think he's had a
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: he's think he's had a really good career. I think
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: he's he's wearing down. He's a he's a small guy,
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: you know. I know he's tall, but he's very thin.
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: Doesn't help, you know, I think the wear and tear
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: is is taking its toll. He's a he's a thin guy. Great,
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: I mean great career. Speaking of baseball, I know that
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: one cares no but Red Sox Yankees heating up right?
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: I thought we're gonna talk about Aaron Judge. No, wow,
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: you know, is there any chance we could get him
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: the Red Sox? Why not? I don't know that much
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: about bait, but I saw some speculation I heard. I
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: think they have somebody who lives in New York to
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: say they're gonna pony up for him. Oh they will,
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: But I don't think there's any chance the Red Sox
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: would be there if they don't. I don't think there's
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: anything I think that beyond. I think whatever you pay him,
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: it's a bargain because the marketing dollars that you make
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: because he's on your team. He's such a presence. Oh
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: my god, just a giant. Another one being wasted in Anaheim.
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: Get him in La well, you know, it's great, it's great.
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: You need to send mat a note to make sure
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: he clips that, you know what I mean, the LA
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: Dodgers or New York I would bet you are LA
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: listeners right now. Got a kick out of that because
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: it's kind of like it's the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim,
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: like you got all that in there. Yeah, yeah, but like, yeah,
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: Otani is unbelievable, unbelievable and like Trout perform him right,
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: like these guys who were kind of toiling down there.
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: But Otani's even more. Yeah, because of the just the
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: the oddities of pitching, like he had um there was
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: a forty strikeouts in four games the last four he
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: had the long and nowhere and runs um the the
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: the long line of a stat of he had the
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: starting pitcher with x amount in a stolen base in
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: the same Like just it's ridiculous what he does. It's ridiculous. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: he's He's a gift and baseball needs to, you know,
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: take advantage of that. But I just love, I mean,
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: he is everything. I mean, I mean, I think Aaron
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: Judge is made for the Yankees. Like I can't hate
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: Aaron Judge even though he's a Yankee, like because of
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: their tradition. Do you see that? But boy, would I
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: love to have him on the red side. Did you
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: see that controversy with the billboard by Fenway with Derek
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: Jeter on it no promoting some sort of I don't
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: even know what it was, but they were talking about
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: it on the news. What is it with the billboards
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: and around here? You know? Because the Dirty Little Secrets
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: is not that expensive. Yeah, to have something on a
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: billboard and now that they rotate because they're all like
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: electronic billboards, so it's not like, you know, you need
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: to get the guy up there with the you know,
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: the PA. You just type it in it. Yeah, you
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: just type something like you see like uh in like
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: communities like they'll like advertise like you know, sign ups
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: for like youth football beyond a root one billboard and Peabody. Yeah,
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: you know, stuff like that. It's interesting. It's not that expensive.
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: Let's go to Melvin and tennessee what's up. Melvin was
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: going on, Hey, hey, hey, I got two things nothing related.
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: Number one top Gun the first one like two weeks ago,
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: and then I want to go see the recently and
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: y'all y'all have not seen it. I have. That's great,
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: I've seen it. I love it. Yeah, I was, man,
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: had you not seen the original Tale comed before? No,
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: I'm not really a movie first, I don't know originally,
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: but what was you? What was you? What were you
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: like better? Which one you like better? Oh? Two, it
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: wasn't even close. That's not definitely like too better, that's
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: not why are you like? No, but if you're watching
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: him now, I agree with you. There's no comparison, like
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: the cinematography, like the reality of the flying scenes, the effects.
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: You can't you couldn't do that in mid eighties. No,
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: but the mid eighties movie was great at the time.
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: Now you know what you can do. Yeah. It's like saying, like,
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: you know, Ted Williams wouldn't have been able to hit today,
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: you know, think he's gonna compete with these guys like
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: yeah Christian, Yeah, yeah, now you would Yeah yeah, Okay.
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: And then the second thing I was gonna say was, um,
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: I'm sure y'all have talked about this before, but what's
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: the oldest sitcom that you are like like to still like?
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: I was a big I love Lucy, I love that,
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: I love Lucy, the couple love the Sign one of
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: the years old oldest sitcom that I like. I'm gonna
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: say the odd couple for me, but there's a lot
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: of them. You know. When I was a kid, and
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: it's still on, like one of those crazy cable the Munsters.
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: Monsters was always I was like a big muster fit.
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: Now I watch it this like, boy, I was an idiot.
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: You were a kid, I know. Um I was Brady,
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: but I think Brady Bunch. Love the Brady Bunch. I'll
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: guarantee you I've seen every single episode at least ten times.
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: But it's gonna be on now that you watch, right.
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: Oh he he just said just that you've ever watched,
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: not one that you watched now, that's old. Hell. I
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: still watch. I love Lucy, I loved, I Love Lucy.
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: I was not a big fan. I was so when Fred.
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: When Fred and I were young, Um, locally in Boston
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: they had like Channel fifty six and Channel thirty eight. Best,
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: you know, in fifty six had like syndicated shows before
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: syndicating shows was the thing, right, you know, And that's
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: when you'd watch Gilligan's Island. Ye I was on that
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: one too. That's you know, Brady Bunch. But I'm old
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: enough to watch Gilligan's Island when it was at night
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: Prime TC. I never saw that. I never saw the
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: Brady bunch of Gilligan's Island. Oh I did first run?
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, what are those only things? That's probably
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: where I watched them all then yep, yeah, no, I
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: watched all those first run Yeah. Yeah, first days of TV.
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: But the Odd Couple, Um, the Odd Couple was always
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: on thirty eight UM and used to get other episodes
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: when when you got cable you got w P I
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: X Yeah eleven eleven alive in New York? What time
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: did they run Mash on? Mash was always on? Um,
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: you know one of those channels, thirty eight MASH would.
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: I feel like it was always on it like my
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: bedtime when I was a kid, Like that song would
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: come Fred. Fred probably loved Mash. I loved Mash, loved
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: Mash classic. Yeah, so well written. Fred would be a
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: Mash guy ensemble acting great stuff. Yeah, those old enough,
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: the early days of television. Yeah, I you know, Paul
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: and I grew up in front of that TV did
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: Yeah you know, I was kids today they grew up
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: with their kids today aren't gonna be able. I mean,
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: I guess kids are going to connect over like old
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: social media stuff. But like kids today, it's hard. There's
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: so many shows you remember this, you know, like when
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: they get to be our age, it's like remember that
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: influencer with the food, you know, And though like you
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: think they're gonna be talking about like episodes of Modern
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: Family the way we talked about episodes of Seinfeld. Right,
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: maybe something they don't watch, right, maybe maybe maybe something
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: like that. Maybe those they're gonna be, but you think
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: they're gonna be repetitively watching like we did, like Appointment TV. Yeah,
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: you know Odd Couple for me, and it seems Paul
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: that was Appointment TV. The passwords. The episode of the
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: Odd Couple is one of the funniest things in TV
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: you'll ever see. Yeah, I mean I had to watch that.
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: I had to watch when I was a kid, Brady Bunch,
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: you know. You it was on at whatever night, it
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: was at eight o'clock or eight, and you had to watch.
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: And I would say that that mid to late seventies,
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: you know, and Fred will make fun of me because
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: I'll venture offensive shows that he probably scoffed and made
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: fun of. Probably, Yeah, like different strokes and facts of life. Definitely,
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: you know, stuff like that. I would watch. I would
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: watch Facts of Life. I loved, Yeah, I watched that.
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: I watched those those together different strokes, so those kind
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: of like paireds sometimes together, I think. Yeah, I think
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: they were both NBC shows. Yeah, well Paul liked the
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: Golden Girls. So yeah, the Golden Girls isn't bad. But
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: I never really like that, was never really into that.
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: But the Golden Girls is a funny show. Oh it's
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: very funny, but it's not my That's where that's where
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: Mitch Hurwitz, who I've talked about before, did Arrested. That's
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: he was like one of his first shows I think
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: he wrote on was like a staff writer for Golden Girls.
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: I mean, it's like a lot of those shows. You
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: look and you're like, there's so many talented young writers
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: that were you wouldn't think of Golden Girls is like
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: a breeding ground of all these like future comedic geniuses,
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: but it was. But it's so funny, Like I make
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: fun of those shows the way they're written. It's like
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: set up line, set up line, big laugh, huge laugh,
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: and then it goes back. I've developed such an appreciation.
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: But I mean, I like I said, I watched Brady
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: Bunch and all that stuff growing up. Never was like
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: when I went to LA was like, oh I want
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: to work in sitcoms. I just kind of ended up
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: in it. But getting to watch Two and a half
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: Men and appreciate the art of it and how it's
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: kind of closer to a stage play. It gets a
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: bad rap. People think that they shoot this like thing
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: in a bubble, it's completely quiet, and then they just
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: plug in laughs at their whim like there is an
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: audience there they are trying to get laughs. Did they
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: pump it up sometime? Sure, but there's definitely like, like
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: you said, that joke didn't work and everybody huddles up.
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: Who's got bop bopap? You know? Trading jokes? And I
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: mean just how quick those guys are. It's crazy. Yeah,
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: town mounted people. Uh, let's go to Nick in Manchester, UK.
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: What's up Nick? Hello guys. It's been a while since
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: I ranking, but I have been listening. Well, thank you. Um.
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: I wanted to talk about Matt Patricia and whether he's
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: evolved as a coach. We'll see whether he's improved as
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: a coach. Yeah, I mean last year, you know, from
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: what we know, he didn't really coach a lot. You know,
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: he's more of a was that not to do with
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: his Lions payoff that he wasn't allowed to coach, Perhaps
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: because he spent he spent time with Ernie, didn't he He
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: He spent loads of time yea, yep, yep. And he
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: spent a lot of time down in the personnel department yea.
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: With all these spending time with earning, being away and learning,
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: you know, maybe he's improved as a coach and maybe
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: we'll see a bit more from him in a bit
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: more successful. Yeah, I don't know. I think it's hard
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: to tell. Yeah, it's hard hard to tell. I mean
- 1:34:59Speaker 1: how to I mean, how does the offense do? How
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: did the offensive line? Who's he talking to? What's he doing?
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: I mean you got to figure out what he's even
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: doing before I think you can. You can judge, but
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: I don't have to guess. Like, as a coach, the
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: experience of being a head coach, I would think that
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: makes you a better coach. You know. I don't know
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: how it's going to translate here and what he's currently doing.
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: But it's hard to say that he got worse. I
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: don't think he got I just don't think he was
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: a very good coach. I think you know, and I've
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: said this before, whether it's Patricia or Um Judge, the
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: experience of being a head coach in the NFL helps you, yeah,
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: overall and having a having a hand in everything as
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: a head coach and you know, having to do all
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: those things now instead of you know, just kind of
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: being isolated on on your specific position group. So but
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: we'll see how it pays off and what changes from
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: both Judge and Patricia are instituted on the offense. Thanks
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: for the call, Nick, don't be a stranger. Eldredge in
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: North Carolina. Hey Eldred, Hey Fellers. I would, but I'm
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: at a job site and message we don't want you
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: getting in trouble. Okay, it's not worth it, especially at
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: job saying it's not worth it. Ruffians my favorite titcom
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: I still look at it guns. It's not a sick
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: toom but okay, yeah yeah. But James Arnz, do you
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: know who his brother is and who was also in
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: a what's that? I think? No? No, Desi Arnz was
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: not James nes our nest right his brother. His brother
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: was also on a long running hour show drama UM
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: and his name was Peter Graves, that was James. They
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: were brothers. I should not realize that. Yeah, and he
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: was on mission impossible, Mission impossibly. I'll watch it every
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: night and then when it comes home. Yeah, you know,
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: But like I said, but Paul, we talked, we talk
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: about Randy Yellow. I'm like, I wasn't gonna say nothing,
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: but yeah, he quit. He quit that third year. About
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: that stuck to you because they face him out the
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: offense if you want to, you know, get that record.
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: But I still have him back. If they said to
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: human tip it, I still have him back on the offense.
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: At least you got a chance. Try to out of
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: school somebody. Okay, you know, why can't you? But that's
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: all I got. But I love to show. I love listening.
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: Yet what y'all said special off season? Yeah, football subject offseason.
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: But that's fine too, all right, But I'm just waiting
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: to August nineteenth when he comes to Carolina because I'm
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: gonna be there for that game. I'm gonna see but
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: that the preseason game. Okay, all right, sounds good? All right, yea,
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: were good one, Thanks, Aldred. He's gonna be here, right,
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: he knows it's here. Yeah, I don't know, maybe not.
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: He shows up at an empty stadium. I just want
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: to make sure he seems like an informed Patriot fan.
- 1:37:46Speaker 1: But let's see one from Stratford writes in UM, he says,
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: there are soap scrub pouches that you can slide a
- 1:37:57Speaker 1: brand new bar of soap into so you can use
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: the bar of soap until it's completely dissolved. They are
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: cheap and many to pick from. Here's a link for
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: the search on Amazon. Okay, Now, this is an interesting concept.
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: A slot in something else. It's a pouch pouch, so
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: you put the bar of soap in there, and it
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: doesn't matter if it becomes a wafer. You know, while
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: it's a wafer, you can put another bar of soap
- 1:38:20Speaker 1: in there as long as you gotta lather. Why do
- 1:38:21Speaker 1: you care? Now? You know? We did have another email, UM,
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: and I don't know if I could find it. UM. Yes,
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: here it is. This is from James. Doesn't say whorries
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: from Eric would not like that. He says, I'm on
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: a trip and decided it was finally time to get
- 1:38:40Speaker 1: an official toiletry bag and accessories for next time. In
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: my research of travel items, I was searching for a
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: Lufa alternative, as Lufa's breed bacteria easily and dry slowly. Now, Paul,
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: you're a big Lufa. I am not. Oh I thought
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: you said you use Lufa. My hands stretch, Okay, so
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: watch out for the bacteria. It definitely doesn't smell great. Uh.
- 1:39:07Speaker 1: He also stumbled on a product that solves the leftover
- 1:39:09Speaker 1: soap problem a thousand times better than soap. Donuts, Ladies
- 1:39:14Speaker 1: and gentlemen, there exists exfoliating pouches, so he's saying the
- 1:39:18Speaker 1: same thing made to be filled with soap, so all
- 1:39:20Speaker 1: the leftover nubbins can be thrown in there with a
- 1:39:24Speaker 1: regular bar so you don't have to wait in voila
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: perfect soap utilization and delightful exfoliation, providing the solution to
- 1:39:31Speaker 1: Fred's fever dreams of lost cleaning potential. Oh and go Patriots.
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: But here's the thing. The reason why I wanted to
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: read this is because whether it's loofez or this pouch,
- 1:39:43Speaker 1: wouldn't you get the same bacteria build up you should? Right?
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: Or maybe the soap kills it. Well, that's that's the
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: other part of it. Anti bacterial soap. Yeah, soap, But
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: the pouch thing is interesting. I don't. I don't use
- 1:40:00Speaker 1: that stuff. But everybody else in my family does they
- 1:40:03Speaker 1: have lufas. Yeah, I will say, I don't think I've
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: ever heard my wife's scream quite as loud as when
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: my kids were in the bath and one of them
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: reached to grab my hanging lufa like she was not
- 1:40:14Speaker 1: that they were going to touch this, this lufa that
- 1:40:17Speaker 1: you know that I used every day. So yeah, the
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: uh a lot of bacteria. I think it gives me
- 1:40:22Speaker 1: as sophia when I dressed up as the Golden Girls
- 1:40:24Speaker 1: won Halloween with a bunch of the basket of the
- 1:40:27Speaker 1: guys I coach baseball with. You know, I think we're
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: seeing a trend here. Yeah, dressing up Halloween and cosplay
- 1:40:36Speaker 1: once again. Cos Wait a minute, didn't you have an
- 1:40:38Speaker 1: incident with a mascot as well? Um, that wasn't me
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: dressing up? No, I know, but like there's something about
- 1:40:45Speaker 1: cosplay with you. No, I think it's sexual dressing. But no,
- 1:40:51Speaker 1: I think that. I think we need to sit down.
- 1:40:55Speaker 1: I think we need to sit you down in the
- 1:40:57Speaker 1: psychiatrists chair and and do a little an a costume. Yeah,
- 1:41:01Speaker 1: do you ever go as Drew? You never dressed up
- 1:41:03Speaker 1: as true. No, no, you know me, well, yeah, don't
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: you think that that was late? That was late in
- 1:41:08Speaker 1: late in the time, I didn't even feel all that comfortable,
- 1:41:12Speaker 1: like going to Patriots games and putting a shirt on,
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: like and I was like, twenty go, he'd go bear chested.
- 1:41:20Speaker 1: Now I did it. I had. I had a Drew shirt.
- 1:41:23Speaker 1: I had a home and away Drew shirt, and I did.
- 1:41:25Speaker 1: I did with him to games. I'm not gonna be
- 1:41:27Speaker 1: a fraud after the fact, but I always did feel
- 1:41:30Speaker 1: kind of wonky about that good fit though, you know,
- 1:41:35Speaker 1: it makes you feel like you're part of the team
- 1:41:37Speaker 1: a little bit. Um Brendan writes in from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
- 1:41:42Speaker 1: What foods or food would you have on your death plate?
- 1:41:47Speaker 1: Who that's a good one. Steak and ravio, steak and
- 1:41:51Speaker 1: Ravioli's yeah, not necessary. I mean like the foods that
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: I liked the best I could. Yeah, definitely. I would
- 1:41:57Speaker 1: have steak, a nice a beautiful ribbi steak, no problem,
- 1:42:02Speaker 1: mashed potatoes, sour cream and butter clam showder. I would
- 1:42:07Speaker 1: go baked potato, a nice blue cheese salad that sounds
- 1:42:09Speaker 1: good in a beer. I'd be thinking all about the dessert.
- 1:42:13Speaker 1: No red wine with that that Ribbi be thinking about
- 1:42:16Speaker 1: the dessert that would be really like the steak could
- 1:42:19Speaker 1: be fine, but I think the dessert would be would
- 1:42:21Speaker 1: be the hard one. Maybe something from an ice cream
- 1:42:24Speaker 1: smuggler there and Eastan. It's my favorite ice cream pie,
- 1:42:27Speaker 1: ice cream pie. I do love that ice cream pie.
- 1:42:32Speaker 1: It's like an Oreo cookie basse, it's not too thick
- 1:42:34Speaker 1: ice cream cake. Well, there's a difference between cake and
- 1:42:36Speaker 1: the pie. Pie is the small one with just like
- 1:42:38Speaker 1: one layer, so you just it's not too much. With
- 1:42:41Speaker 1: a cake, You've got like the chocolate cake in the middle,
- 1:42:44Speaker 1: so you maybe have like two layers of ice cream. Okay,
- 1:42:46Speaker 1: so the pie is just the deep deep dive. I'm sorry.
- 1:42:49Speaker 1: I didn't want to take you down this way, but hey,
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: I like my I like my ice cream, like your pie.
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: I like my pies like pie, don't we all? Um?
- 1:42:59Speaker 1: Big pie eater? Are you? I mean? Not real pie,
- 1:43:02Speaker 1: just ice cream? Holy cross? You got that reputation? Um,
- 1:43:07Speaker 1: how do you? Yeah? Well, apple pie and whatnot like
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: those of your favorite apple pie is my favorite dessert.
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: I don't I'm not a big I'm not a huge
- 1:43:16Speaker 1: dessert person. I see I am, but I'm not a
- 1:43:18Speaker 1: big pie. But but I do love apple pie, like
- 1:43:22Speaker 1: blueberry pie, like cherry pie. I like lemon meringue. Hate
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: pecan pie, really hate it. Key line is good. I
- 1:43:31Speaker 1: can have a cheesecake like cheeseca or I'm not crazy,
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: it's just some people they have to have the ice cream.
- 1:43:38Speaker 1: I don't need that pecam pie. I think you need
- 1:43:40Speaker 1: at least whip creamer ice pie. Um Bill and Vista, California.
- 1:43:45Speaker 1: What are your favorite sitcom finales? Mine has to be
- 1:43:49Speaker 1: The Office. I don't know if I've made it to finale. Yeah,
- 1:43:53Speaker 1: I've never seen it. I mean the only sitcom finale
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: I can really remember is mash Well, you have to
- 1:44:00Speaker 1: remember Seinfeld. Oh yes, of course I would put mash
- 1:44:04Speaker 1: above it. It's just I just think it's hard. How
- 1:44:07Speaker 1: do you end a sitcom? Because it's just they just
- 1:44:09Speaker 1: make you laughing a little contain thing, and it's almost
- 1:44:12Speaker 1: a possible task, like tell a touching story at the end,
- 1:44:16Speaker 1: like Cheers was was pretty good? Yeah, I don't. I
- 1:44:19Speaker 1: never got like Sam walking out at the end, that
- 1:44:24Speaker 1: iconic click. See that work? And not even the Cheers
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: I think was it? Think it's really heart but like
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: it's really hard to do a finale of a popular
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: sit like, oh yeah, everybody complains every time. Yep. I
- 1:44:37Speaker 1: think it's a hard thing to do, and it's hard
- 1:44:38Speaker 1: to like do something like Game of Thrones where it's
- 1:44:40Speaker 1: a drama. There's all kinds of storylines that you just
- 1:44:43Speaker 1: have to wrap up like you sitcom, you don't have
- 1:44:44Speaker 1: to wrap anything. I think mash work because it was, yeah,
- 1:44:48Speaker 1: it was in a war and then the war ends
- 1:44:51Speaker 1: specific so the show ends. So it was kind of
- 1:44:53Speaker 1: a natural ending, you know, Yeah, wasn't it, Like I'm
- 1:44:58Speaker 1: not a huge match guy. I mean obviously know the
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: show of the premise, But didn't um one of them
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: die on the way home? Yeah? Yeah, the colonel died
- 1:45:10Speaker 1: or was McCain stevenson. Somebody died now McClean Stevenson was early.
- 1:45:14Speaker 1: They replaced him. Oh that's right, he left for his
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: own show, somebody. You're right, somebody did die on the
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: way home and that was that wasn't the last episode. Okay,
- 1:45:21Speaker 1: it wasn't, no, right, but that was an episode that
- 1:45:23Speaker 1: was really sad. Like they're in the operating room and
- 1:45:25Speaker 1: the guy comes in and announces it and they're like
- 1:45:28Speaker 1: they got to keep operating on people. But they're all like,
- 1:45:31Speaker 1: you know, ready to cry. And I think it was
- 1:45:33Speaker 1: McClean Stevenson. That's when he when he left to do it.
- 1:45:36Speaker 1: When he left, he died on his way home. It
- 1:45:39Speaker 1: was a plane accident. Yeah that's hard. What a hard
- 1:45:42Speaker 1: show to balance of that? Yeah, like, well that's speed,
- 1:45:45Speaker 1: writes in he says, um, I'm with you on Mash.
- 1:45:48Speaker 1: In the movie, the funeral scene encapsulates the absurd combo
- 1:45:51Speaker 1: of humorous in Maudlin with an incredibly beautiful acoustic rendition
- 1:45:55Speaker 1: of suicide is Painless. But in the TV show Go Rewatch,
- 1:45:59Speaker 1: he's in eight, episode seventeen called Heal Myself. It'll Niagara
- 1:46:04Speaker 1: falls down your face. I think that might be the
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: one we're talking about. I don't know, m yeah, I
- 1:46:10Speaker 1: always I did find it interesting that there sort of
- 1:46:13Speaker 1: was a little run on that, you know, like Mash.
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: You know, Hogan's Heroes, like you know, like the the
- 1:46:23Speaker 1: grandparents of the time to be like, you know, war
- 1:46:26Speaker 1: was nothing to make oh make light of. I'll tell
- 1:46:28Speaker 1: you a story. We're what my friends and I are
- 1:46:31Speaker 1: sitting around watching Hogan's Heroes and my father who was
- 1:46:34Speaker 1: in World War Two, comes in, he goes, there's nothing
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: funny about a German prisoner of war camp and just
- 1:46:39Speaker 1: walks out and we're like, oh, I didn't even know
- 1:46:43Speaker 1: that story. Oh yeah, I can totally totally understand that.
- 1:46:46Speaker 1: But yeah, there were shows that, you know, that combine
- 1:46:50Speaker 1: the seriousness of war with a comedy tody plus time.
- 1:46:53Speaker 1: Now do you remember the at the time, there wasn't that.
- 1:46:57Speaker 1: I think the ratings. I think the ratings were in
- 1:46:59Speaker 1: Hogan's Hero's Favorite, But do you remember the show that
- 1:47:01Speaker 1: competed in the same genre as Hogan's Heroes? F Troop?
- 1:47:05Speaker 1: Now that was way before Hogan's really I think, so, yeah,
- 1:47:09Speaker 1: I'm gonna look it up later. I don't know McHale's Navy.
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, yea, yeah, yeah, yep, yep. I should
- 1:47:14Speaker 1: have gotten that McHale's name. Kale's Navy was Hogan's Heroes
- 1:47:17Speaker 1: for the Navy, Right, Um, Barry's Let's see A person
- 1:47:22Speaker 1: writes in I second Barry, It's so good a lot
- 1:47:26Speaker 1: of os. If Bill Hayder doesn't sell you on it.
- 1:47:29Speaker 1: Henry Winkler gives the performance of his life throughout the
- 1:47:33Speaker 1: three seasons there are only eight episodes per season, and
- 1:47:36Speaker 1: there are twenty five minute episodes, so it's an easy binge.
- 1:47:40Speaker 1: This last season is sure to clean up during the
- 1:47:43Speaker 1: next Awards season. Twenty five minutes. There's a car chase
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: scene that maybe the best I've ever seen. Huh wow,
- 1:47:49Speaker 1: I'm people are selling me on Barry. I mean, well,
- 1:47:53Speaker 1: I gotta tell you, he just kind of sold me
- 1:47:55Speaker 1: on eight episodes of twenty five minutes teach right. I
- 1:47:59Speaker 1: could do that Saturday right, easily digestible. I think I
- 1:48:04Speaker 1: might do it after after I get my eighteen Yeah,
- 1:48:06Speaker 1: of course, I think I got to do The Boys
- 1:48:08Speaker 1: next though. That's the next season of The Boys. That
- 1:48:11Speaker 1: the Boys are awesome. Yeah, but they like released them
- 1:48:14Speaker 1: not all at once right now. They're once a week.
- 1:48:16Speaker 1: So now I feel like I've I like the Boys.
- 1:48:21Speaker 1: That is an outrageous, serious, ridiculous I'm excited. I just
- 1:48:26Speaker 1: I've been in Stranger Things, Land and Yellowstone and all that.
- 1:48:30Speaker 1: Um Scott writes in from Cape Cod all right, long
- 1:48:34Speaker 1: time listener, occasional emailers since the Brian Morey days and
- 1:48:38Speaker 1: everyone in between. Never missed a show. Wow wow, I
- 1:48:42Speaker 1: love the offseason topics from Cereal to soap in a
- 1:48:45Speaker 1: dent to the best TV shows with a dent to
- 1:48:48Speaker 1: the best TV shows. And I like your reaction to
- 1:48:51Speaker 1: my top three TV show list, especially Fred and Matt. Well,
- 1:48:55Speaker 1: Matt's not here today, but if Chris wants to join in,
- 1:48:58Speaker 1: he can. Number one by a mile. Person of interest.
- 1:49:03Speaker 1: Never seen an epithet. I think that's a network. Yeah,
- 1:49:05Speaker 1: drama started as a CBS procedural. What's a procedural? D
- 1:49:12Speaker 1: you know what they're going through? Like, Oh, okay, I think,
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: and sneakily turned into a science fiction masterpiece. Wow, I
- 1:49:19Speaker 1: was not aware of that show. I definitely didn't stay
- 1:49:20Speaker 1: with it long enough for that. But I think I know,
- 1:49:23Speaker 1: I think I know the show that they're talking about. Okay,
- 1:49:26Speaker 1: Number two Marvel's Agents of Shield, seven Seasons of Goodness
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: that he never saw that either. And finally number three, Uh,
- 1:49:37Speaker 1: it's only this low because it was canceled way too soon. Firefly,
- 1:49:42Speaker 1: but great while it lasted. Yeah, I know that one.
- 1:49:44Speaker 1: I'm familiar with that. I think they made a movie
- 1:49:46Speaker 1: or two off of it. But yeah, that's honorable mention,
- 1:49:50Speaker 1: he says the expanse I haven't seen any of this.
- 1:49:54Speaker 1: I know that's why it's so like, I wonder if
- 1:49:57Speaker 1: Scott watches Law and Order and like the ones that
- 1:49:59Speaker 1: everybody else watches, or is he like a guy that
- 1:50:02Speaker 1: watches ones that seems like he's on the network drama
- 1:50:06Speaker 1: kind of tip. Yeah, but I've never seen a person
- 1:50:11Speaker 1: of interest or any That's what I mean with like
- 1:50:13Speaker 1: the kids today, there's just so many shows. You feel
- 1:50:15Speaker 1: so much pressure on people like have you seen this?
- 1:50:17Speaker 1: And you haven't even heard of it before? You feel bad?
- 1:50:19Speaker 1: There's too much content? Yeah, yeah, we're in the content.
- 1:50:22Speaker 1: YEA thought i'd save you the trouble fres little trivia?
- 1:50:26Speaker 1: Ready ready, Paul or you are? I am ready. I'm
- 1:50:30Speaker 1: just finding out that f Troupe came after McHale's name
- 1:50:32Speaker 1: after I know they weren't the same time, were roughly
- 1:50:34Speaker 1: the same time, and the one that came the latest
- 1:50:38Speaker 1: was Hogan's Heroes. Okay, yeah, um, but they all basically
- 1:50:45Speaker 1: kind of overlapped. That's how it works, right, what's his name?
- 1:50:48Speaker 1: Which one the star of Hogan's here killed himself? Right, Crane?
- 1:50:52Speaker 1: He had serious issues? Yeah? Um? What season was the
- 1:50:58Speaker 1: first ever to play? Or what I can't read today?
- 1:51:02Speaker 1: What team was the first ever to play in five
- 1:51:05Speaker 1: Super Bowls in a single decade. New England later tied
- 1:51:09Speaker 1: that record. But what team was the first to do it? Dallas?
- 1:51:13Speaker 1: Dallas is correct, seventy seventy one, seventy five, seventy seven,
- 1:51:17Speaker 1: and seventy eight. That's a dynasty. Uh. Who is the
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: only player in NFL history to win three Super Bowls
- 1:51:27Speaker 1: with three different teams? Three Super Bowls with three different teams?
- 1:51:37Speaker 1: We mentioned one that a guy that won with two
- 1:51:39Speaker 1: different teams. We know Brady did. Dean Sanders who we
- 1:51:42Speaker 1: talked about before, Bronk, He's not the answer. Matt Millen
- 1:51:50Speaker 1: eighty and eighty three with the Raiders, eighty nine with
- 1:51:52Speaker 1: San Francisco, and ninety one with Washington. That's a really
- 1:51:58Speaker 1: good trivia question because it's a it's a famous enough
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: player that it's not like, uh, yeah, what's the Gilbert
- 1:52:06Speaker 1: quarterback that's the only guy that went to five Gilburgh? Yeah,
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: he went to five Super Bowls in a row because
- 1:52:11Speaker 1: he was the backup with the Bills for like four
- 1:52:13Speaker 1: years and then he went to San Diego. I think right, like,
- 1:52:17Speaker 1: no one ever even heard of the guy. What team
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: has lost the most playoff games in NFL history team
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: has lost the most. It's another good question, Pittsburgh. I'm
- 1:52:30Speaker 1: gonna say Minnesota. Minnesota's correct. They've lost thirty and the
- 1:52:37Speaker 1: team next to him lost twenty nine. That's Dallas. Gotta
- 1:52:41Speaker 1: make it a lot. That's and Minnesota was famous for
- 1:52:45Speaker 1: losing the Super Bowl all the time, so I figured
- 1:52:47Speaker 1: that means they had to be in a lot of games.
- 1:52:49Speaker 1: But grant, yeah, only two quarterbacks have lost three championship
- 1:52:54Speaker 1: games versus a specific quarterback. Tom Brady is one of them,
- 1:52:58Speaker 1: losing three times to to Peyton Manning six, fourteen and fifteen.
- 1:53:02Speaker 1: Who is the other? It was actually thirteen and fifteen?
- 1:53:07Speaker 1: Who the other? Bow? I remember? Only two quarterbacks have
- 1:53:12Speaker 1: lost three championship games versus a specific quarterback championship somebody
- 1:53:19Speaker 1: lost to the Bills. No, um, is this the last one? No,
- 1:53:26Speaker 1: there's one more after this to the next one. Because
- 1:53:30Speaker 1: who was the last player to win the Super Bowl
- 1:53:33Speaker 1: the same year he was named season MVP, The last
- 1:53:38Speaker 1: quarterback to win? Last players necessarily a quarterback to win
- 1:53:42Speaker 1: the Super Bowl the same year he was named season MVP,
- 1:53:46Speaker 1: Mark Moseley, No I got nothing, Kurt Warner. Going back
- 1:53:55Speaker 1: to the other one has any guesses. How about if
- 1:53:59Speaker 1: I give you the decades or eighties lost the same
- 1:54:04Speaker 1: three it's pretty good. Forty nine ers. We love him,
- 1:54:10Speaker 1: We love the guy that the guy lost to you
- 1:54:13Speaker 1: and me. Paul Elway. Yeah, so who lost to him
- 1:54:17Speaker 1: three times in championship games? Bernie, I thought they only
- 1:54:21Speaker 1: had two though the drive. Yeah, and then the next
- 1:54:25Speaker 1: year they fumbled. He says this three, I don't know.
- 1:54:29Speaker 1: We'll trust him. Um, let's see. Ben in New York
- 1:54:35Speaker 1: writes in you guys have to watch Kidding. It stars
- 1:54:38Speaker 1: Jim Carrey. He's like a mister Rogers, but his outside
- 1:54:41Speaker 1: life is falling apart. And now we're coming up with
- 1:54:45Speaker 1: shows that I've never even I haven't heard that one, really,
- 1:54:47Speaker 1: yeah kidding, I've never heard of it, Jim Carrey, he's
- 1:54:51Speaker 1: like a big guy. I even heard of it. It
- 1:54:53Speaker 1: just shows you how much money is. Like the streaming
- 1:54:56Speaker 1: stuff now, like these shows now like they have like
- 1:54:59Speaker 1: the best of the well, Amazon's coming out with like
- 1:55:01Speaker 1: Lord of the Rings, like they're gonna have a whole
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: So I'm really gonna lose you guys for good. Yeah,
- 1:55:07Speaker 1: you're not a big Lord of the Rings guy. Yeah,
- 1:55:10Speaker 1: I liked it. I watch Stranger Things for you guys.
- 1:55:13Speaker 1: I thought that was just watching it for us. That's
- 1:55:16Speaker 1: all you guys talk about. So I was I was
- 1:55:18Speaker 1: an Olive brand. I sold that one to you though,
- 1:55:20Speaker 1: because my kids, my kids, baby. Yeah, well the eighties
- 1:55:23Speaker 1: of it all. I mean, there's a really thought that
- 1:55:25Speaker 1: I would like it, and I would say I like it.
- 1:55:29Speaker 1: I don't love it. I like it fair Chris with
- 1:55:32Speaker 1: a T, I A N. Will end with his email.
- 1:55:34Speaker 1: He says, I was very young, but the finale of
- 1:55:37Speaker 1: Family Ties always stuck with me. Cast members were called
- 1:55:40Speaker 1: out individually to the applause of the audience. Clapping, hugging
- 1:55:44Speaker 1: and waving by all the cast members and crew was cool.
- 1:55:47Speaker 1: You could tell it was a very emotional moment for them.
- 1:55:50Speaker 1: And he says, you need to watch Rounders. It's all
- 1:55:53Speaker 1: timer Teddy KGB is an absolute classic. Paul the Man
- 1:55:59Speaker 1: his money should watch that one. Fred, you would like
- 1:56:01Speaker 1: I can't believe give me the premise. It's just a
- 1:56:03Speaker 1: kind of a poker movie. It's Matt Damon. He's real
- 1:56:05Speaker 1: good at poker, um, you know, and his his best
- 1:56:08Speaker 1: friend Ish like just got out of jail. I might
- 1:56:10Speaker 1: be misremembery some of the deals. But Edward Norton is
- 1:56:12Speaker 1: the best friend and they're just kind of in this
- 1:56:14Speaker 1: world of gambling. They get into trouble, constantly getting him
- 1:56:17Speaker 1: in the hole. You know, he's trying to just get
- 1:56:18Speaker 1: out and start his life and and and get things
- 1:56:20Speaker 1: going with his girl. And yeah, you know, but no
- 1:56:24Speaker 1: you're not far off though. That's you know, I mean, yeah,
- 1:56:27Speaker 1: but more wholesome. But it's you know, but it's fun
- 1:56:30Speaker 1: and yeah, John Malkovich is is Teddy KGB. Right, Yeah,
- 1:56:33Speaker 1: it has a terrible, terrible Rucker accent, like worse than
- 1:56:37Speaker 1: I just sounded. All right, Well, listen, that's it for
