- 0:00We need to answer the call, and this takes courage.
- 0:02We need to stay on the line, and this takes devotion.
- 0:06And we need to call back when the line drops.
- 0:09And this takes audacity.
- 0:13Oh, you said no.
- 0:14Oh, I'm going to ask another way or again or another person.
- 0:29Your soul is calling, but are you answering?
- 0:33Your soul is calling you in this moment, on this day, but are you picking up?
- 0:42You're picking up the phone of your soul calling.
- 0:44You're picking up your soul's calling, but are you staying on the line?
- 0:51You're staying on the line, but are you calling back when the line drops?
- 0:55Babes.
- 0:57Welcome to the Soul Salon.
- 0:58Today we are going to be tapping in to the frequency of answering your soul's calling because you are being invited in this moment to step in with both feet.
- 1:09Are you not?
- 1:10To not have one foot in and one foot out, but to say, oh, I'm plopping both feet on the other side of my dreams.
- 1:15I'm stepping through the portal.
- 1:18I'm stepping into the calling on my heart, the calling on my soul.
- 1:24This vibration of honoring and answering your soul's calling, it is such a powerful energy to be receptive to.
- 1:37And what I notice is either we are not picking up the call, we're saying not this week, or we're saying I'm not the kind of person who gets to, or we're saying I don't have what it takes, I'm going to speak about this with respect to me very soon.
- 1:50Or something a little bit more common, because babes, you've been answering the call.
- 1:53I feel like you've been taking aligned actions that your prior self only thought about.
- 1:57You've actually been embodying them.
- 1:59You're doing incredible.
- 2:00Now the elevator music is playing.
- 2:03We're getting a little bit bored.
- 2:04We're thinking, wait, why is it not happening already?
- 2:08Why is it taking so long?
- 2:09Why?
- 2:10I already posted the videos.
- 2:11I already advertised my event.
- 2:14I already signed up for the comedy open mics.
- 2:18What is, where is the dream dropping in?
- 2:21So the elevator music is playing.
- 2:22Ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba.
- 2:26And we're getting bored of waiting.
- 2:29We're saying, this should have happened by now.
- 2:32This should be my past.
- 2:33Because I've lived this in my dream so many times.
- 2:35Why is it not my reality?
- 2:37Why is it not?
- 2:38What's going on?
- 2:40So many of us, the invitation is to congratulate ourselves for answering the call, but then to devote ourselves to staying on the line.
- 2:49Because that vision has been given to you for a reason.
- 2:53You are envisioning this because you are the perfect channel to create it.
- 2:56No one else can give birth to what is on your heart in the precise manifestation that you can.
- 3:02So when we are showing up, we're taking the actions, we're posting the videos, we're writing these sub stacks, we're writing the book, but it feels like it's not happening fast enough.
- 3:11We need to honor the fact that it is so rare and we are rare souls.
- 3:18I know that you are a rare soul.
- 3:20Okay, you're a rare soul and it is so rare to stay on the line.
- 3:25It is so rare.
- 3:26People try once, they say, oh, they didn't respond to the email.
- 3:29Oh.
- 3:30My video didn't go off.
- 3:32The agent said no.
- 3:33The crowd didn't like me.
- 3:34And they give up.
- 3:36They drop the line.
- 3:37Oh, I guess I'm not supposed to be a singer.
- 3:38Oh, I guess I'm not supposed to be a dancer with no judgment.
- 3:41No judgment because we were conditioned to believe it's not safe to fail.
- 3:45And especially it's not safe to fail in public, which is why I have a video called The Courage to Flop.
- 3:49which is a deep, beautiful capacity that we all need to develop in order to show up for our soul's calling.
- 3:55So we need to answer the call, and this takes courage.
- 3:59We need to stay on the line, and this takes devotion.
- 4:02And we need to call back when the line drops.
- 4:06And this takes audacity.
- 4:09Or, oh, you said no.
- 4:11Oh, I'm going to ask another way or again or another person.
- 4:15So I want to walk you through a step-by-step example of what it means to answer the call and then to stay on the line.
- 4:22So I'm currently working on my first song, actually my first two songs.
- 4:28And the first song, Ghost Town, comes out in November.
- 4:32And it is bringing up so much for me stepping into this music invitation.
- 4:37It's bringing up so many limiting beliefs that I hold about myself.
- 4:41One of the biggest limiting beliefs is I'm not the kind of person who, I'm not the kind of person who gets to be a singer professionally.
- 4:48Those are for people who've been singing for decades.
- 4:51Or that's for that person over there.
- 4:53Or like, I've never known myself to be that.
- 4:56So then how can I now step into it?
- 4:58So all these insecurities of I'm not a good enough singer.
- 5:02There are so many singers out there.
- 5:04Actually, that's less of an insecurity because I'm like, well, what about my soul?
- 5:08It also came here for a reason.
- 5:09We're not gonna, I said this on my live portal, we're not gonna unsubscribe from ourselves.
- 5:15People may unsubscribe when you send the email, but you're not going to unsubscribe from yourself.
- 5:20So answering the call is saying, okay, yes, there is fear, there is doubt, there is perfectionism, there is uncertainty, but I know in my spirit
- 5:30There are songs in me that wake me daily.
- 5:33They keep me up.
- 5:35I'm haunted.
- 5:35I'm like possessed by them.
- 5:37It's not even a lot of people describe songwriting as this cathartic release.
- 5:40And we all have our process and it's all divine.
- 5:42And every project gets to be different.
- 5:44But I experience it as a possession.
- 5:47I'm being possessed.
- 5:48I'm like, okay, well, at some point I need to release this out of my spirit.
- 5:54Okay?
- 5:57Oh my word, that reminds me as we speak about this three-step process of answering the call, staying on the line, and then calling back when the line drops.
- 6:06A divine writer named Ehime Ora who wrote, Ancestors said and also spirits come from water.
- 6:12She's so magnificent, incredible, and sacred.
- 6:15She has this beautiful quote that says, Your body is not a coffin.
- 6:20Okay, so when we stay with all this creativity and we just let it die and sit within us,
- 6:27That's not what our bodies have come here to do.
- 6:31She says, put your work somewhere so that it can live.
- 6:35You know, let me get the exact quote.
- 6:37Okay, so here is the exact quote.
- 6:38These words are by Ehime Ora.
- 6:42You got to resurrect the deep pain within you and give it a place to live that's not within your body.
- 6:52Let it live in art.
- 6:54Let it live in writing.
- 6:56Let it live in music.
- 6:59Let it be devoured by building brighter connections.
- 7:05Your body is not a coffin for pain to be buried in.
- 7:12Put it somewhere else.
- 7:15Your body is not a coffin for pain to be buried in.
- 7:18Put it somewhere else.
- 7:20Hmm.
- 7:21Hmm.
- 7:24Oh, oh, well, you know, it's okay.
- 7:28I threw my phone for anyone who didn't see it and it dropped.
- 7:30That's okay.
- 7:31So the songs are possessing me.
- 7:35That is the call.
- 7:36The call sometimes feels like a haunting.
- 7:39Beyonce's beautiful lyrics.
- 7:40I know if I'm haunting you, you must be haunting me or the opposite.
- 7:45I know if I'm, yes, I think so.
- 7:48I know if I'm haunting you, you must be haunting me.
- 7:53So the call can look like feeling like an idea keeps coming to you and it comes and it comes and it comes and it stays within you like a pearl of your spirit that continues to be kept and protected for years.
- 8:10The call may come in the form of waking up late at night, feeling like you have been taken by something.
- 8:19The call can come in so many different ways.
- 8:24The call could feel like whenever you see someone doing what you want to do, you feel triggered.
- 8:30Because you know that is your future self calling you home to her, him, them.
- 8:36You know that they are a different version of you, but a timeline that you haven't fully aligned to.
- 8:43So answering the call is saying, I say yes.
- 8:46And inviting spirit source, God divine to say, okay, where do you want me to go next?
- 8:51What is my next most aligned action?
- 8:54And often it's not going to make sense.
- 8:57It's not going to be logical.
- 9:00And then your planning mind may try to over plan, over strategize something divine and miraculous that's trying to unfold.
- 9:09The stars are talking to you, babes.
- 9:11But are you listening?
- 9:12Well, the Chani app has got you covered.
- 9:14I am so excited to announce that Chani is officially a sponsor of the Soul Salon podcast.
- 9:19Oh my word, this is so magical.
- 9:21I literally feel like I'm in heaven right now.
- 9:22Chani is your fave's fave astrology app.
- 9:25I fell in love with Chani, the app, the minute.
- 9:28The person, absolutely incredible, absolutely a queen, absolutely phenomenal, sacred.
- 9:32But I fell in love with the app.
- 9:33The minute I downloaded it, it uploaded my birth chart.
- 9:36And then right underneath my birth chart, what were there?
- 9:39Three keys to my strategy chart.
- 9:42I read the first key.
- 9:44Literally, I sat there and I felt like this is reading me fulfilled word for word.
- 9:48Now, I'm not going to tell you what the three keys are.
- 9:49You're going to have to download the app to find out.
- 9:51But I screenshotted it and sent it directly to my bestie, Alex, which is also why I'm so excited to announce that Chani has just launched a brand new feature called Multiple Charts.
- 10:03This allows you to see up to 100 birth charts of your friends, your community, your crushes, your partners in depth.
- 10:09OK, I am so excited for the dreams, desires, challenges and gifts that I'm going to learn about my best friends, about my long distance friends.
- 10:17We are going to now stay cosmically connected because sometimes those chickens are not checking in.
- 10:22Okay, and unlike other astrology apps, Chani is completely AI-free, babes.
- 10:28Every single word was written by a human astrologer.
- 10:31Now, those are values.
- 10:33Those are principles.
- 10:34It's also queer and feminist-led.
- 10:36I mean, what more do I need to say?
- 10:37Chani has already taught me so much about myself, about honoring my Capricorn rising ambition, right?
- 10:43Because the ambition wants to ambush.
- 10:44And I'm so excited for you to become more consciously, cosmically connected to your community through the multiple charts feature and with Chani.
- 10:54Let's find each other in the stars, babes.
- 10:56Download the Chani app at the link below.
- 10:59Now back to today's soul session.
- 11:02So we're going to answer the call.
- 11:05And remember, think of a call.
- 11:07Is there a perfect way to answer a call?
- 11:09You could have it between your ear.
- 11:11You could be lying down.
- 11:13There's no perfect way to answer the call.
- 11:14We just need to pick up.
- 11:16Click that button.
- 11:17Whether your hands are greasy and you feel like, oh, the screen is going to get messed up, you click that button.
- 11:23You click that button.
- 11:24You click that button.
- 11:25You say hello.
- 11:25Okay.
- 11:27And then the call is going to ask something of you.
- 11:30Because your highest receiving comes from your highest giving.
- 11:35When you give, that's also what I'm experiencing with this music process.
- 11:38I was holding myself back and there's still blocks I'm still facing because I'm right at the beginning of this journey, right?
- 11:44I'm allowing you to step into what it's like for someone to crack open from a shell.
- 11:50This is the babiest, babiest step.
- 11:53But what I felt was that everything that I've been seeking to manifest is going to come from me honoring this calling.
- 12:06And it's the same with this podcast.
- 12:08The call came and I remember months and months, who am I to have a podcast?
- 12:13I don't have a PhD that we all have our stories, right?
- 12:15You definitely do not need a PhD to have a podcast.
- 12:18I, even all my favorite podcasts is none of them really have that.
- 12:21But yeah.
- 12:22It's like the voice of conditioning.
- 12:25I need to be qualified by someone outside of myself.
- 12:27This is why we had the permission portal, which you can grab the recording to below.
- 12:32You can purchase the recording to that incredible energetic container where we expanded our permission because when you expand your permission, you expand your life.
- 12:41So many people are walking around with gigantic,
- 12:44dreams and no permission to even lay a brick oh i want to be on a stadium but i'm not even allowed to send an email pitching my music to oh i want to be on a stage oh i want to be a best-selling novelist but i don't even give myself permission to show up imperfectly on a monday because i don't have the perfect block of time and i don't get to write unless i have a specifically two-hour block of saying you know so we're giving ourselves permission
- 13:08Okay, so that is we are answering this call.
- 13:11We are saying yes.
- 13:12We are taking imperfect action.
- 13:14We are not letting the greasy fingers stop us from picking up the phone.
- 13:18We're not allowing the fact that our battery is on 2% to stop us from just picking up the call, which is not a metaphor for a lack of rest.
- 13:25Please rest.
- 13:26Please restore.
- 13:27Please honor your seasons.
- 13:28But we are answering the call.
- 13:30We are answering the call.
- 13:32So I'm answering the call.
- 13:34I'm saying to the music, okay, okay.
- 13:36Use me.
- 13:37I will show up.
- 13:38Then what happens?
- 13:39If you have songs buried in your spirit, what do those songs need?
- 13:42To be finished, to be made, to be created, to be devoted to.
- 13:45So it's then that daily process of devoting myself to ushering and like, what's the word?
- 13:55Giving birth.
- 13:57being a birthing place, being the womb for these songs and allowing them to exist in a finished form.
- 14:04Because one of my sabotaging patterns was that I would start songs, but never finish them.
- 14:09So I would start a verse or I'd start a chorus, but then I'd never allow myself to finish it.
- 14:13Why?
- 14:13Because finishing a creative project takes a lot of courage because then you have to accept that it's actually done.
- 14:20And the divine creativity coach, Amy McNee, who's so powerful and will be a guest on the Salsa Lan.
- 14:26So both of them, Ehime Ora is going to be a guest virtually.
- 14:30And then Amy, it's all in the stars, either virtually or in person.
- 14:34And then Amy is going to be a guest in person.
- 14:37And she speaks about when you say something is finished, it's an act of vulnerability because when it's unfinished, you get to say, oh, but I can still make it better.
- 14:46Oh, but I can still change this.
- 14:48Oh, but I can still change paragraph one.
- 14:49And this with writing for me, this devastates me.
- 14:53My work is never done.
- 14:54It's always in a draft because it takes bravery, courage to say, look, I finished it.
- 15:00It's very vulnerable.
- 15:02So we're honoring the finishing.
- 15:04We're honoring the fact that that's what the call asked.
- 15:08So if you have the call to create a substack movement, we got to be willing to answer the call to write a substack essay.
- 15:15I don't have that call, but if you have that call, then honor that call.
- 15:20Okay, so we're going to take imperfect action because you are so powerful.
- 15:24And the calling has called you specifically at a frequency and level and vibration and volume that it's only calling you.
- 15:30I believe what is in your heart to share, no one can share on your behalf.
- 15:34So we're either going to be the void or we're going to be the vision.
- 15:37We're going to be the absence or we're going to be the commitment.
- 15:41Okay?
- 15:41Okay.
- 15:42So that's answering the call.
- 15:44Now we talk about staying on the line.
- 15:46This looks like following up.
- 15:48So many of you, so many of us are sending emails and never following up.
- 15:51I don't get that.
- 15:53You got to follow up.
- 15:54It's email.
- 15:54No one is like, oh, let me go respond to that email I got four weeks ago.
- 15:59No, you got to stay present.
- 16:01You got to stay like set a reminder on your calendar every week or every other week to follow up.
- 16:06If you want a dream opportunity, act like it, follow up, you know.
- 16:11Like if someone reaches out to you and then you think it's their fault for ghosting.
- 16:15No, it's no one.
- 16:16No one owes me.
- 16:17No, no, no.
- 16:18I follow up.
- 16:19Follow up.
- 16:20If you want to have someone on your podcast, they don't respond.
- 16:22You follow up.
- 16:23You follow up.
- 16:24You follow up.
- 16:24I don't chase.
- 16:25I attract.
- 16:26That's a lie.
- 16:26That's a myth.
- 16:27People who are living their dreams.
- 16:28They did both.
- 16:29I'm so sorry.
- 16:30Like so many of us, these tools are beautiful.
- 16:32It's beautiful language.
- 16:34And like, yes, there is an energy of chasing that I do think is obviously repelling.
- 16:38But there's a balance.
- 16:39Yeah.
- 16:40That could be Kerry Washington speaks about this.
- 16:42She says, like, I'm going to pray for my dream bus to arrive.
- 16:47But as that bus comes closely, I'm also going to run.
- 16:52I'm not just going to say, oh, but God will.
- 16:53No, I'm also going to run.
- 16:55It's a co-creation.
- 16:56That could be my bus, but I got to act like it.
- 16:59So if you know, I know that person is meant to be in my life.
- 17:03Well, I know that.
- 17:04I don't mean romantically.
- 17:05I know that that is also true, but I'm talking about creative collaborations, creative opportunities.
- 17:09I know I'm meant to collaborate with that brand.
- 17:11I know I'm meant to.
- 17:13you know, be in the universe of that person.
- 17:17I know I can help that person with their vision, but they didn't respond.
- 17:20What?
- 17:21Of course they didn't respond.
- 17:22Follow up, follow up, follow up, follow up, follow up.
- 17:25Set a reminder.
- 17:27Every, however frequency you want to follow up and you follow up, babes.
- 17:32I know that for me personally, if you email me, if you don't follow up, you probably won't hear from me.
- 17:37Probably, unless you are Trevor Noah.
- 17:43You're probably not going to hear from me because life is busy and you open the inbox and you're like, I'll respond.
- 17:48And then you forget.
- 17:49It's not even malicious.
- 17:50It's literally just mind, you know, the mind and life.
- 17:55And you have so many priorities.
- 17:57So if you know that what you are reaching out for...
- 18:01isn't their priority, it's yours.
- 18:03So that's why I don't agree if you say, oh, that person or like that opportunity ghosted me.
- 18:08What?
- 18:09Unless they actually did.
- 18:10What?
- 18:10It's not them who needs the opportunity, it's me.
- 18:13So I'm gonna follow up.
- 18:14Follow up like you mean it.
- 18:16Follow up like that's your buzz, okay?
- 18:17And then obviously at a certain point, you can stop following up.
- 18:20But keep following up because that's how you're gonna seal the deal.
- 18:23That's a closer.
- 18:24A closer follows up.
- 18:25People who like think about things and start things, they don't end up closing the deal.
- 18:31Because so many people just don't follow up with anyone.
- 18:34They send a DM, they're like, oh, but I sent it.
- 18:36What?
- 18:37Say what?
- 18:38Okay, anyways, back to soft love.
- 18:40That was a bit of a tougher love frequency.
- 18:43But anyways.
- 18:44You're so divine.
- 18:45I want that opportunity for you.
- 18:46That's why I'm saying it in this way.
- 18:47I'm like, I want that for you.
- 18:48I want what's on the other side of that email.
- 18:50So let's follow up.
- 18:51Let's be the ones who follow up.
- 18:52Okay, so that's staying on the line.
- 18:54Staying on the line is also, oh, this is no longer fun.
- 18:58This is, and then refinding the fun.
- 19:00Staying on the line is,
- 19:02like this isn't as dreamy as maybe the vision board made it seem.
- 19:07So I've had that with this podcast.
- 19:08I'm staying on the line.
- 19:10Like sometimes, you know, I never want to, like I love this podcast so much.
- 19:14And also the law of polarity, there are things about it that are challenging, but I stay on the line.
- 19:19Staying on the line is I'm devoted beyond the fantasy of how it's supposed to feel.
- 19:24So what happens in dating right now is no one is staying on the line because there's so many other people that you could call.
- 19:28So they just drop the line, drop the line, drop the line, drop the line.
- 19:31And so saying on the line is, okay, I'm in it.
- 19:35However long it takes.
- 19:36You know, some of our favorite musicians or writers, they were...
- 19:41doing invisible work for like 10 years before we found out who they were.
- 19:45So that's what staying on the line is.
- 19:48It's they had a calling and they kept showing up.
- 19:52They kept showing up.
- 19:53Jay Shetty speaks about how he would reach out to so many people for his podcast who said no, no, no, no, no.
- 20:02And now what's happening?
- 20:02They're lining up, babes.
- 20:04They're lining up to be on his show.
- 20:05I'm sure now it's like, you know what I mean?
- 20:08So that's an example.
- 20:09He stayed on the line.
- 20:11He stayed on the line.
- 20:11He stayed on the line.
- 20:12He stayed on the line.
- 20:13And every book we've ever read, they stayed on the line because they got the book idea.
- 20:17It felt exciting.
- 20:18Then they actually sat down and wrote the book.
- 20:19And I'm watching my best friend go through this.
- 20:21He's staying on the line.
- 20:22The book dream he's had since he was a child, he's staying on the line.
- 20:25He's showing up for the book.
- 20:27Even when there are seasons of rest, he's coming back.
- 20:30He's recommitting.
- 20:30He's returning.
- 20:31He's returning.
- 20:32The most powerful form of commitment sometimes is recommitment because it's the rare soul who comes back, who says, okay, fine.
- 20:39Yes, I stopped Substack or I stopped music or I stopped writing the book for two months.
- 20:43I took a break.
- 20:44I took a pause, but I'm an artist.
- 20:45My life is the art.
- 20:46I come back with richer perspective, richer understanding and meaning.
- 20:51But people who come back, oh, powerful.
- 20:54Staying on the line.
- 20:56Okay, staying on the line beyond how long you think it makes sense.
- 21:01That is so powerful, babes.
- 21:03Oh my word, your soul is calling, but are you staying on the line when you pick up?
- 21:07Your soul is calling, but are you willing to hold some of the embarrassment of staying on that line?
- 21:14Oh, because staying on the line can be embarrassing.
- 21:16It can lead to so much feelings of shame.
- 21:19Staying on the line is, why are not my videos are not popping off?
- 21:22So for me with this project, I'm like...
- 21:26I know I have a voice that was meant to be heard.
- 21:29Like I have a voice that was meant to be heard.
- 21:30Okay.
- 21:31I know that.
- 21:32And it took me, I didn't always know that.
- 21:34I didn't always know that.
- 21:35Go listen to the first hundred episodes.
- 21:37I didn't always know.
- 21:39This is the breadcrumb of my becoming.
- 21:41Each episode is me talking to myself as well as you.
- 21:44I didn't always know, but now I know.
- 21:46This is a voice that came here to be heard.
- 21:47So then there's 400 views.
- 21:49Now I know.
- 21:49Okay, wait.
- 21:49Okay.
- 21:50Let me just say, I know that for some people, that's so many views.
- 21:53And if those people in a room, that would be amazing.
- 21:56Obviously we grow.
- 21:57And once you've experienced, you know, videos with 200,000 views, then obviously it's a perspective thing.
- 22:04So first of all, the invitation is be grateful that there's 400 at all, because some people have four or two or one and 400 souls is amazing.
- 22:11But then there's also that feeling of like, how is it that I'm not where I know I could be?
- 22:19And then what will many people do?
- 22:20Drop the line.
- 22:21Fine, I guess I just won't have a podcast.
- 22:23Oh, I dropped the line.
- 22:25And there's the comparison and the envy or the fear of like not being good enough.
- 22:28I'm like, what am I doing wrong?
- 22:31Like, do people just not?
- 22:32And I'm like, no, no, no, no, no, because this is my archive.
- 22:35This is my mosaic.
- 22:37Someday, even if this interview or this video has 10 views, someday it's going to have 10 million.
- 22:43Some days it's going to have 10,000.
- 22:45Someday it's going to have 100,000.
- 22:46They're going to add three zeros.
- 22:48Then they're going to add four, then five, then six, because my voice always finds people at its most divine moment.
- 22:55And because I trust people.
- 22:57that the universe wanted to test my devotion because early success doesn't allow you to really see how devoted you are to something.
- 23:06Sometimes you need a period of things going a little bit dry, a little bit cold for you to really know how much you want to stay on that line.
- 23:14In fact, let me read to you about this.
- 23:20Just had to grab the phone from the floor where it fell.
- 23:22Oh, poet.
- 23:23Okay.
- 23:26let me read to you about the gift of not instantly succeeding.
- 23:29For anyone out there who's posting and not getting views or likes, who's, you know, reaching out to agents and they're not saying yes for your book, this is going to put things in a different perspective for you.
- 23:40The Artist's Journey by Kent Nürburne.
- 23:45It's called The Artist's Journey on Making Art and Being an Artist.
- 23:49And this part really stuck with me.
- 23:52It talks about the downfall of early success.
- 23:55So listen to this.
- 23:56Still, we should not be too hungry for success.
- 24:00Early success often contains a false promise.
- 24:05It is full of excitement and immediate passion, but almost unnoticed, it begins to turn your focus to what works rather than to the authenticity of your art.
- 24:23Those who have discovered you want you to replicate what you have already done.
- 24:30Your art begins to harden, to take form too soon.
- 24:36It is an aesthetic binding of the feet, impelling something that still should be growing toward a final form when it should be expanding and flowering.
- 24:50This is one of the great and unappreciated gifts of laboring in anonymity and obscurity.
- 25:00Your work is allowed to mature.
- 25:04You are free to experiment, to try different voices, to put on different artistic identities.
- 25:13It frees you from the pressure of outside scrutiny.
- 25:18And allows you to make mistakes without looking upon them as failures.
- 25:27Yet, working without success requires great strength of character.
- 25:33Working without external success is what he's talking about.
- 25:36Requires great strength of character.
- 25:39You must have faith that there is the spark of authentic talent within you.
- 25:46You must be able to persevere with only the love of your art as a driving force.
- 25:56These are strengths that many people, even people of great talent, simply do not have.
- 26:11Hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm.
- 26:22These are strengths that many people, even of great talent, simply do not have.
- 26:29It takes a deep strength of character to show up when you're the only person in that room, when you're on stage and there's no one in the audience.
- 26:40It takes strength of character that most people don't have and you do have it.
- 26:44You do have it and you will claim it and you are claiming it.
- 26:48You have the strength of character to show up even when it seems like it's not working because you've already seen it worked in the cosmic realm.
- 26:56You've already seen what you've been shown.
- 27:00Let that be your evidence.
- 27:01We don't look to the outer world to be our evidence.
- 27:04We've already sourced it from a higher dimension of reality.
- 27:13So that's what it means to stay on the line.
- 27:15It's a level of commitment and devotion that most people don't have.
- 27:19And that idea that early success can be a downfall.
- 27:21I know that for me with TikTok, I went viral so early in my TikTok journey that sometimes I wonder, had that happened later, would I have had more of that time in that cocoon to develop myself and my voice and not back away due to the fear of success?
- 27:41So we think there's only a gift in early success.
- 27:43Our society tells us, oh, she's only 19 and she's already got a hit.
- 27:47Oh, they're only 21 and they've won a Grammy.
- 27:50Society tells us, oh, look, they're a best-selling author at 20.
- 27:55There's this ageism and this obsession with youth and making it early.
- 27:58What do we see of child stars?
- 28:00They haven't yet developed the vessel to hold all the energy that's coming into them.
- 28:04It's like lottery winners who crumble into despair.
- 28:10So had they had more time to mature, as Kent Nürburne says in this reading, we don't even know how much more they would have actually been able to be in alignment and integrity with the artistic voice.
- 28:23So we're staying on the line.
- 28:24We're doing what most people don't do.
- 28:26We're staying on the line.
- 28:28And then the last step is calling back when the line drops.
- 28:34And it's quite a similar frequency to staying on the line, but it's not allowing someone's no to be a final no.
- 28:40So many of us do this.
- 28:41I once watched this YouTube video of this woman saying that she had a partner boyfriend when she was very young.
- 28:49I can't remember the creator and I don't know how to find her.
- 28:51But she sang in front of him.
- 28:54This is so heartbreaking that this is how we treat each other, hold each other's art and how vulnerable we are.
- 29:01It's so beautiful on one hand, but also devastating on the other, because it means that sometimes even a whiff of rejection completely makes us take ourselves off the island.
- 29:13But she was saying that she loved to sing.
- 29:16And when she was maybe 17, she had an adolescent boyfriend, crush, who she was so into.
- 29:22And she sang in front of him.
- 29:23And he said she was a terrible singer.
- 29:26And she never sang again.
- 29:27For decades, she never sang again.
- 29:29And that story haunts me.
- 29:31It stays with me.
- 29:32Because how many of us can relate to that?
- 29:36We just stopped because someone said we weren't good enough.
- 29:39And I hold her with so much love.
- 29:40I'm not saying all she should have done is stay on the line.
- 29:42I hold it with so much love.
- 29:44I just wish someone else was on the line cheering for her to say, yes, you must sing.
- 29:49You can sing.
- 29:50Please sing.
- 29:52But imagine a world where we believe in ourselves and each other so much that we don't allow anyone to take our music.
- 29:58We don't unsubscribe from ourselves.
- 30:01The story I told at the Permission Portal was every time, every single time I send an email, as anyone with an email list will know, people unsubscribe.
- 30:10And it feels really devastating and embarrassing because it's like, oh, you scroll to the bottom of my words and you said, nope, never want to hear from her again.
- 30:19Never want to hear from her again.
- 30:20And it makes you feel like, am I doing something wrong?
- 30:22Am I being annoying?
- 30:23Am I da-da-da?
- 30:25But I've gotten to a place in my career and creativity where I'm like, I'm never unsubscribing from myself.
- 30:30Because in the past, I might be like, oh, let me not send as many emails.
- 30:34Let me be less A or less B in my emails.
- 30:36Let me not sell in my emails.
- 30:37Let me not be annoying.
- 30:39No, I'm not unsubscribing from myself.
- 30:41I'm not unsubscribing from my vision.
- 30:43And I'm not unsubscribing from the voices that I do know want to hear from me.
- 30:48I'm staying on the line, not just for my own heart, but for the people whose hearts I'm here to serve.
- 30:53So yes, those 400 videos may feel like, oh, that's not good enough.
- 30:57But what about all the people who are waiting to find me?
- 30:59I got to keep showing up so they can find me.
- 31:01You know what I mean?
- 31:03Yes, you do.
- 31:04Okay, so we're answering the calling, meaning we are taking imperfect steps.
- 31:10The only steps that spirit has given us to take are imperfect steps.
- 31:14So we're taking imperfect steps by answering the call.
- 31:17Actually, the first answer to the call is just to acknowledge that there is a call at all and that we want it.
- 31:22Like, I want that.
- 31:23I want that.
- 31:24I want that.
- 31:25I have that desire.
- 31:27And at the permission portal, we spoke about desire and the blocks we have in our own permission to want.
- 31:34So answering the call, honoring the wanting, taking aligned action towards the wanting, staying on the line, staying in the, don't love the idea of a ring, but staying in.
- 31:45the unfolding, longer than it logically makes sense.
- 31:49Because so many of our favorite artists did that.
- 31:51They kept showing up for their writing, for their music, for their speaking, far longer than it made sense to the people around them.
- 31:58Why don't you just give up for their business that they made if it's a loving business?
- 32:03Why didn't you just stop?
- 32:05No, there's no customers.
- 32:06No one's buying.
- 32:07It's not going to work.
- 32:08In fact, something I find so fascinating is there's the Netflix book says that will never work, which is what everyone around him told him.
- 32:18That will never work.
- 32:20That'll never work.
- 32:23That's just never going to... And what did Nelson Mandela say?
- 32:26He said, it always seems impossible until it's done.
- 32:28I think about that once a day.
- 32:29It does.
- 32:30It always seems impossible until it's done.
- 32:32Always.
- 32:33Every time.
- 32:34Because if you, you're a world builder, you are a, because you are something we've never seen before.
- 32:40So of course it seems like you're dreaming too big or you have too many desires, too many passions.
- 32:45It always seems impossible until it's done.
- 32:48So babes, I'd love to hear what was your biggest takeaway, your soul takeaway for answering your soul's calling from today's soul session.
- 32:57Yes, I am going to say, even when I'm writing lyrics, I'm like, how can I say the word soul?
- 33:02Where can the word soul appear?
- 33:04Can it appear again?
- 33:05How many times?
- 33:06I just love it.
- 33:07I love it.
- 33:08We're building the soul world, okay?
- 33:10We're living in an ego world, and I'm trying to co-create a soul world.
- 33:14That's where I'm trying to go.
- 33:15That came to me lyrically, because I'd never said those words before.
- 33:20But the soul world is a world where we all live from our soul, which is what I believe to be heaven on earth, to be paradise found on earth.
- 33:29And so when we're living in an ego world, we have something called beauty standards that have nothing to do with the soul.
- 33:36That's an ego world.
- 33:38The soul knows beauty, the beauty of a poem, the beauty of your mother's smile, the beauty of laughter between friends, the beauty of a sunset.
- 33:45That has nothing to do with what we're being sold to believe is beauty.
- 33:49And I originally learned that idea from a Substack writer called Jessica Dufino, who writes on beauty culture so powerfully and brilliantly.
- 33:56And I think that's so important.
- 33:58Like if we could return beauty to the soul world, oh my goodness.
- 34:03Like if we could live our music and our medicine, live in our hearts, say that hurt my feelings.
- 34:12Say I understand.
- 34:13Say I love you.
- 34:15Say I miss you.
- 34:18Say remember when?
- 34:20If we could reconnect with that soul frequency, I really believe we could recreate the world.
- 34:24So that's also what I'm standing for that.
- 34:26The Soul Salon, the Soul Siblings, we are usherers of a soul world.
- 34:30I really believe that.
- 34:31And if you're still here, babes, we are soul siblings.
- 34:35And we do things together.
- 34:36So please join the Soul Salon Collective.
- 34:39and join our space.
- 34:41People were sharing each other's Instagrams.
- 34:43It was such a vibe.
- 34:44I loved it.
- 34:45I'm so curious what the next portal will be.
- 34:47So join at the link below so you can stay in touch with the frequency and so we can kiki together.
- 34:54And also thank you for witnessing this unfolding because I am stepping into the next vibration of my, an iteration of my soul's calling.
- 35:03This was for me
- 35:04Answer the call that music is providing you.
- 35:07Stay on the line even when it gets challenging.
- 35:09And call back when people say no.
- 35:11Because so much is coming my way that I can't even see.
- 35:14But if I really honor this process...
- 35:17Oh my word, miracles on the other side.
- 35:19Miracles.
- 35:20And you've already seen it.
- 35:21You've already seen the miracles.
- 35:23So we're going to create them.
- 35:24We're going to be them.
- 35:25We're going to become them.
- 35:26I'm sending so much love to you.
- 35:28I'm sending so much love through you.
- 35:31You are divine.
- 35:32You are delightful.
- 35:33You are so generous to the world.
- 35:35And you have absolutely, you have what it takes.
- 35:38Absolutely, you have what it takes.
- 35:41Okay.
- 35:42You have known since you were a little child that you have something so magical inside of you.
- 35:47And society tried to say no, but you said yes.
- 35:50We're saying yes together.
- 35:51Okay.
- 35:52I know shame comes into the room.
- 35:54I know I'm never going to be the one who says I've overcome fear.
- 35:58I've overcome shame.
- 36:00I'm unapologetic.
- 36:02I love that word.
- 36:03I love the idea of it, but I am quite apologetic.
- 36:08And I love, I have a part of me that is unapologetic.
- 36:12And I love her.
- 36:14But I also have a part of me that's like, oh, I'm ashamed.
- 36:19And there is the saying that like when we do that, we keep each other small.
- 36:23But I think when we honor all the voices in us, we make the bar less high for the person on the other side.
- 36:29Because if you think I'm fearless, then you're going to be like, oh, I wish I felt like her.
- 36:33I'm not fearless.
- 36:35I got so many fears.
- 36:36I have 110 episodes basically about fear and the fears that I have.
- 36:40I have so many fears.
- 36:42I'm so afraid, but also I'm like bold.
- 36:44Okay, I'm bold.
- 36:45I'm brave.
- 36:46I'm courageous.
- 36:47I am courage.
- 36:47I'm a courageous woman.
- 36:48That's one thing I know I am.
- 36:49I walk into the fire of fear every single time.
- 36:52I'm going to walk.
- 36:53Okay, I don't do it every single time.
- 36:55But I'm going to walk into the studio of fear before my first song.
- 36:58I stood outside.
- 36:59I remember I'll never forget this moment.
- 37:02about to ring the doorbell of my producer's studio.
- 37:05And I waited and I stood there on this main street in London.
- 37:10And I thought to myself, what the fuck am I doing?
- 37:14Who am I to be doing this?
- 37:16What makes me worthy or deserving?
- 37:20Who am I to be making a song right now?
- 37:22Like whose life is this?
- 37:23I must be pretending.
- 37:25And I was so afraid.
- 37:27I was afraid I wouldn't be good enough.
- 37:28I was afraid my voice wasn't going to be good enough.
- 37:33And I just said yes.
- 37:35I said I'm going in.
- 37:39The word courage came to me.
- 37:42I rang the doorbell and I entered that door and I entered a new life, to be honest.
- 37:48So what door are you waiting behind, waiting to feel ready, waiting to not feel scared?
- 37:54Feel the fear and step in anyway.
- 37:58Feel the fear and answer the call anyway.
- 38:01We're doing that and we're doing it over and over again.
- 38:03Because when you face fear over and over again, it compounds to a place that you cannot currently even imagine.
- 38:10It compounds to a reality that you cannot currently even imagine.
- 38:17Oprah said that her life, it's not even that she dreamed of this life, that her life has surpassed her vision for what she ever thought was possible.
- 38:26And I'm sure it took so much courage for her to keep showing up.
- 38:29And still she's showing up today.
- 38:32So we're going to feel the fear.
- 38:34And we're going to step in.
- 38:35We're going to answer the call.
- 38:37We're going to stay on the line.
- 38:38And we're going to call back.
- 38:39It's a rare soul who does those things.
- 38:42And we are raised souls.
- 38:44Why not us?
- 38:45Honestly, why not us?
- 38:46You see someone on TV, you see someone on a magazine, you see someone on stadium, why not you?
- 38:52Why not you to be in that studio?
- 38:54Why not you to have that podcast?
- 38:55Why not you?
- 38:58Why not you to win that award?
- 39:00Why not you to have that reality, to have that future, to have that relationship?
- 39:05Why not you?
- 39:07Why not us?
- 39:08Why not us?
- 39:09We're miraculous beings.
- 39:12So we claim it.
- 39:14We claim the light that is ours to claim in this life.
- 39:16Okay, I'm sending so much love to you and I'll see you on the next soul session.
- 39:19I love you.
