- 0:00Speaker 1: There are stories everywhere you go, some more horrifying than others.
- 0:04Speaker 1: We're here to investigate the stories. This is Ghost Stories
- 0:09Speaker 1: and the Unusual Paranormal Podcasts with your host Joe the
- 0:14Speaker 1: Ghost Guy.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Last time on Ghost Stories and the Unusual Paranormal Podcast,
- 0:19Speaker 2: Joe the Ghost Guy told us about the hauntings of
- 0:22Speaker 2: both of the Buildmore hotels, the one in Miami, Florida
- 0:26Speaker 2: and the other build More Hotel in Los Angeles. What
- 0:29Speaker 2: or where is he going to tell us about next?
- 0:32Speaker 2: Tune in on this week's episode of Ghost Stories and
- 0:35Speaker 2: the Unusual Paranormal Podcast with your favorite paranormal investigator, Joe
- 0:40Speaker 2: the Ghost Guy.
- 0:41Speaker 3: Good morning, Good afternoon, good evening. Where we are across
- 0:46Speaker 3: the country and around the world, you are listening to
- 0:50Speaker 3: Ghost Stories and the Unusual Paranormal Podcast. I am, indeed
- 0:55Speaker 3: your host, Joe the Ghost Guy. How are you today,
- 1:00Speaker 3: in this weekend or actually this week weekdays, this week period. Sorry,
- 1:05Speaker 3: I haven't been on. I've been taking care of things.
- 1:09Speaker 3: I just had surgery on my right arm. Everything went okay.
- 1:14Speaker 3: They just fixed a few things and I had a
- 1:17Speaker 3: to rotator cuff and take a couple of bone spurs
- 1:22Speaker 3: and arthritis out and fix my biceps. So basically I
- 1:27Speaker 3: am now bionic in both arms. It's weird how they
- 1:30Speaker 3: end up doing it, and especially my biceps. They end
- 1:33Speaker 3: up moving it down somehow, and I'm like, wow. So
- 1:37Speaker 3: I'm interested in when I get strength in it, what
- 1:40Speaker 3: it's able to do. But it's taking care of that
- 1:44Speaker 3: and other things. And I hope everyone's having a wonderful
- 1:48Speaker 3: week so far. And I am let you guys know
- 1:53Speaker 3: that the Patreon is up and if you go to
- 1:57Speaker 3: ghost Stories in the Paranormal podcast slash Patreon, you go
- 2:02Speaker 3: on there and you go for free, and if you
- 2:06Speaker 3: end up go the next here, which is only a dollar,
- 2:10Speaker 3: only a buck, and maybe you'd be able to whoever
- 2:16Speaker 3: tributes a buck will be able to be on the
- 2:19Speaker 3: air with me and on a future show. Or I
- 2:22Speaker 3: could also put it like a little, you know, a
- 2:25Speaker 3: little surprise, maybe a little you know, postcard with our
- 2:30Speaker 3: logo and yours Trili's autograph. Also we got shopify, you know,
- 2:35Speaker 3: we got our peril on there, and go over there
- 2:39Speaker 3: and check it out and hopefully be able to get
- 2:42Speaker 3: some swag. And it's not too bad. Oh on today's episode.
- 2:52Speaker 3: This episode was requested by some good friends that listen
- 2:59Speaker 3: to the show, and it wanted me to uh talk
- 3:04Speaker 3: about it. And I was thinking about not going into
- 3:08Speaker 3: this because you know, I try. You know, we've done cryptids.
- 3:12Speaker 3: You know, it's nothing wrong with the cryptids, and they're
- 3:15Speaker 3: all good in general. But this cryptid, it's so vastly
- 3:21Speaker 3: large that he's sort of it's like the white elephant
- 3:25Speaker 3: in the room, and you sort of just try to
- 3:28Speaker 3: squeak by it. But this white elephant decided to back
- 3:32Speaker 3: up and squish me. So I ended up getting landed.
- 3:36Speaker 3: But might as what get it done and over with
- 3:40Speaker 3: and and uh be able to be a giant sign
- 3:45Speaker 3: of relief. That way we could uh move on to
- 3:50Speaker 3: other things. But yes, this story was requested by Ellen
- 3:56Speaker 3: and Roxy rose up in Holebrook, Arizona, and they saw
- 4:00Speaker 3: it and they like to hear it on our podcasts.
- 4:04Speaker 3: So today our story, we are going to the muggy
- 4:10Speaker 3: on Rim up in you know, Arizona. It's up in
- 4:14Speaker 3: the north, it's about northern Arizona. It's it's it's it's
- 4:23Speaker 3: basically hugs the Grand Canyon. This story is basically the cryptid.
- 4:29Speaker 3: This monster is a legendary is seven foot ten tall
- 4:35Speaker 3: seven foot ten inches tall. You know, hair covered all over.
- 4:40Speaker 3: Humanoid often considers Arizona's version of yes, you guessed it,
- 4:47Speaker 3: pickfoot that inhabits the muggy on Rim in the north
- 4:51Speaker 3: central Arizona reported since it's least nineteen oh three. Cryptid
- 4:58Speaker 3: is described to have in red eyes, a foul older,
- 5:02Speaker 3: and blood curling scream, with sightings continuing into the two
- 5:06Speaker 3: thousand and near Paisin and my hometown, Prescot, Arizona. You know,
- 5:12Speaker 3: I was, I was kind of wondering about this, and
- 5:17Speaker 3: you know, there's a location that the creatures associated with
- 5:23Speaker 3: a heavy forested steep train lamogion Rim, especially areas like
- 5:29Speaker 3: wooded canyon Lake and forest Row three hundred. His appearance
- 5:34Speaker 3: described as walking on two lakes, covered in long black
- 5:38Speaker 3: or reddish brown hair except for the face and chest,
- 5:42Speaker 3: and capable of leaving twenty two inch footprints. Sounds like
- 5:46Speaker 3: Shaquille O'Neal out in the woods. You know we've done
- 5:49Speaker 3: cryptids before. I mean, we talked about the skin walkers
- 5:54Speaker 3: lost Dutchman's gold Mine. We haven't really talked about the law.
- 6:00Speaker 3: The Lord Horna might get to that one do what happens?
- 6:06Speaker 3: You have a fair share of urban legends of Arizona,
- 6:10Speaker 3: that's for sure. One of them is the Muggyon Monster,
- 6:13Speaker 3: an ape like creature that is allegedly stocks are stocks
- 6:19Speaker 3: iNTS forest landscape of the Muggyon ram similar to Bigfoot
- 6:25Speaker 3: or bi crypto cryptis. And you know, when I was
- 6:29Speaker 3: trying to dodge this, I mean there's so many vast
- 6:34Speaker 3: you know, bigfoots out there. I mean you got you know, Bigfoot,
- 6:38Speaker 3: a k A. Sasquatch, a bottom of snowman. If you're
- 6:43Speaker 3: in the Himalayas, you got the yetti you know what
- 6:49Speaker 3: have you YETI and you know whatever Canada has as well,
- 6:54Speaker 3: you know you got a lot of them. So I
- 6:56Speaker 3: mean they do a vast train. So we we try
- 7:01Speaker 3: to escape this, but it's like that little white outfit
- 7:04Speaker 3: in the room. You just can't ignore it. So we're
- 7:08Speaker 3: doing it. You know, did you know Arizona has his
- 7:11Speaker 3: very own Bigfoot? Yes, there was, there was talks about it.
- 7:17Speaker 3: We've had. I was when I was living in Arizona
- 7:22Speaker 3: and living in well Skad Junction aka Sligman, Arizona. There
- 7:28Speaker 3: was a lot of people that end up you know,
- 7:32Speaker 3: a lot of a lot of Bigfoot fanatics would go
- 7:37Speaker 3: in there and uh, you know, you ask them what
- 7:41Speaker 3: they're doing. Oh, yeah, well you heard there was a
- 7:44Speaker 3: bigfoot around here. We're gonna go look at it. And
- 7:48Speaker 3: you're like, okay, you know, but somewhere happened to someone
- 7:59Speaker 3: in the stubbying over it or you know, so they
- 8:04Speaker 3: this is a story. You know, this is you you know,
- 8:07Speaker 3: if you're a stick skeptic, you know, you know, it's
- 8:11Speaker 3: take it as fifty to fifty, you know, go with
- 8:13Speaker 3: it or not with it. But apparently someone hurt something
- 8:18Speaker 3: in the uh you know, the dead and night early
- 8:22Speaker 3: in the morning, and he thought it was an animal
- 8:25Speaker 3: and started chasing after it and basically sometimes running after
- 8:29Speaker 3: thought it was a you know, a deer or elk
- 8:33Speaker 3: or whatever. And apparently somehow it didn't see the rock
- 8:38Speaker 3: that was in front of him, and I guess it
- 8:42Speaker 3: stubbed its toe and it ripped the one of his
- 8:45Speaker 3: nails off his toe. And the guy picks it up
- 8:48Speaker 3: and they did, uh you know, he sees it and
- 8:51Speaker 3: showing everyone about it, and uh, you know, some people said,
- 8:55Speaker 3: well you just get it analyze, so he took it
- 8:59Speaker 3: to a analyte place to analyze. I don't know if
- 9:03Speaker 3: it went to somewhere in you know, Tucson or something,
- 9:08Speaker 3: but they analyzed it somehow and it came out like
- 9:14Speaker 3: primate and one percent human, and that pretty much shocked
- 9:18Speaker 3: the world. It's like, you know, the gold rush pretty much.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Oh my god, there is one. Let's go find it.
- 9:25Speaker 3: You know, the rush is on, you know, and you know,
- 9:28Speaker 3: it's like trying to pan gold. And you know, I
- 9:30Speaker 3: think they end up, you know, you know, lost interest
- 9:34Speaker 3: whatever in it. But you know you also got the
- 9:37Speaker 3: skin walkers too. I mean, I know those are real
- 9:39Speaker 3: because I have seen one. I was with my friend
- 9:43Speaker 3: and seen a skin walker. It it literly puts uh
- 9:49Speaker 3: makes makes your spider sense go tingling, real, real crazy
- 9:53Speaker 3: and real intense. This creature was also known as the
- 9:57Speaker 3: Budyard Monster, and the tail promises you leave laying a
- 10:02Speaker 3: wake at night, especially if you're cryptoids give you the creeps.
- 10:07Speaker 3: It may be known as the Mugging Monster. But the
- 10:10Speaker 3: first sighting of the ape like cryptid occurred near the
- 10:14Speaker 3: Grand Canyon. A man only as I. W. Stevens told
- 10:20Speaker 3: the Arizona Republic he saw a humoroic creature with long
- 10:24Speaker 3: white hair and matted beard, reached by its knees. The
- 10:29Speaker 3: monster allegedly had no clothing on and possessed a least
- 10:34Speaker 3: two inch long claws on its town like fingers. Okay,
- 10:39Speaker 3: that's okay, I'm gonna you know, I'm just gonna, you know,
- 10:44Speaker 3: play debunking here. You know. One there's a show that
- 10:49Speaker 3: my friend likes to one of our viewers on hair
- 10:54Speaker 3: likes to watch. It's called Naked and Afraid. You know,
- 10:57Speaker 3: they go somewhere in their naked you know, and they
- 11:02Speaker 3: you know, pretty much go around in the jungle, you know,
- 11:04Speaker 3: Addam and Eve type. What if you know someone that
- 11:10Speaker 3: you know either wants to or running for something or whatever,
- 11:16Speaker 3: you know, strips all of his clothes off, goes bare,
- 11:19Speaker 3: neked and say, I don't know five ten, fifteen, twenty
- 11:26Speaker 3: years or more, don't shower Eve, you know, get a manicure, peticure.
- 11:32Speaker 3: I mean sometimes my nails get you know long, you know,
- 11:36Speaker 3: and I have to trim them there because they, you know,
- 11:39Speaker 3: rip the tone of the my socks all the hell.
- 11:42Speaker 3: And what if it happens to be someone that just
- 11:48Speaker 3: hadn't wants to be in the in the woods neked
- 11:52Speaker 3: and havn't took care of himself for a lot of
- 11:55Speaker 3: years and and did a you know, you know Howard
- 12:02Speaker 3: Hughes did it. He didn't shower, hay or whatever for
- 12:07Speaker 3: upteen you know months or so, and he was like
- 12:10Speaker 3: that where his nails were so long, and his hair
- 12:13Speaker 3: and big old beard and everything. And finally they end up,
- 12:18Speaker 3: you know, trimming him up and everything. This guy could
- 12:21Speaker 3: be like another Howard Hughes and just be a recluse
- 12:24Speaker 3: and you know, just decided to go, you know, barn
- 12:29Speaker 3: at all, and you know, why not be bear in
- 12:32Speaker 3: the woods. You know, thankfully isn't aggressive. It's the last
- 12:40Speaker 3: time in nineteen oh three. Most of the muggy On
- 12:43Speaker 3: Monster sightings are in the dense forest landscape of the
- 12:47Speaker 3: muggy On Rim. This two thousand foot high and trap
- 12:56Speaker 3: as scrapement stretches from northern Yavapai County to the border
- 13:04Speaker 3: of New Mexico. Is ridiculous, is ridiculously scenic, which is
- 13:09Speaker 3: I mean it's rocky or sometimes flat and making a
- 13:15Speaker 3: popular destination for hikers, kimpers, hunters and all those who
- 13:19Speaker 3: love the great outdoors, which does I love you know,
- 13:23Speaker 3: like I said, I was born in Prescott and I
- 13:26Speaker 3: lived you know, around and around there, and growing up,
- 13:30Speaker 3: I always loved camping. Then. The cryptozoologist Don Davis is
- 13:37Speaker 3: a believer. He claims that during the mid he's boy
- 13:41Speaker 3: scout trap uh on a boy scout trip near Paison,
- 13:45Speaker 3: he laid his eyes on a large, hairy creature with
- 13:50Speaker 3: extinct expressionless eyes and a square shaped face and head.
- 13:56Speaker 3: He or no one anyone he has with that day
- 14:00Speaker 3: would be able to explain what they saw, just what
- 14:04Speaker 3: they saw something in those woods. According to and any
- 14:10Speaker 3: doatical reports, the creature was over seven foot tall, walks
- 14:15Speaker 3: upright and amidst a strong pudgean BODYO. It's just a
- 14:19Speaker 3: man that hasn't showered, and of course he's gonna have
- 14:22Speaker 3: a pungent body order I mean, have you I mean
- 14:26Speaker 3: similar to a having a similar smell of a dead
- 14:32Speaker 3: fish or rotting meat that's waiting for not bathing, and
- 14:37Speaker 3: you're gonna smell like a rot fish and stuff monsters,
- 14:41Speaker 3: a llegedly nocturnal omni various omnivarious meat and plants is
- 14:50Speaker 3: territorial and at times aggressive. Would you be if someone's
- 14:54Speaker 3: up vein your area and you know you want them
- 14:59Speaker 3: to get the hell out of there and leave you alone.
- 15:02Speaker 3: It takes a vast inhuman strides and leaves it behind
- 15:05Speaker 3: footprints that measure nearly two feet across. Okay, it's Shaquille O'Neill,
- 15:11Speaker 3: but naked in the uh in the Prescot forest, and
- 15:16Speaker 3: he wants to be left alone and the monsters see.
- 15:20Speaker 3: The Muggia monster is said to be a mimic wildlife
- 15:25Speaker 3: sounds to blend with its surroundings. Report Cells state the
- 15:29Speaker 3: creatures gives off a blood curdling scream like that of
- 15:34Speaker 3: a woman in great peril, though of course these could
- 15:38Speaker 3: easily be called the mountain lions, which also sounds a
- 15:41Speaker 3: bit eerie like a woman's screaming. True, there's so many
- 15:46Speaker 3: sounds in the woods. It's hard to pinpoint what is
- 15:50Speaker 3: what I mean. I've heard some sounds that, you know,
- 15:54Speaker 3: you could be anything from like you know, mount lions
- 16:00Speaker 3: to what have you have, Lena? You know, different different
- 16:07Speaker 3: other sounds, and especially at night, and you never know
- 16:10Speaker 3: whether they're coming from and you know, and it's it
- 16:15Speaker 3: is scary at night. Next time you go up camping
- 16:19Speaker 3: on the rim, keep a watchful eye. You never know
- 16:22Speaker 3: what is watching you. One of the monster's favorite activities
- 16:26Speaker 3: is exploring campsites after dark, and we don't want to
- 16:30Speaker 3: blame it. After all, bears are found of the activity too.
- 16:34Speaker 3: Leftover food is a great reward, I one doubt it.
- 16:38Speaker 3: Of course, you have the bears as well. I mean
- 16:40Speaker 3: black bears pit on where you're at. Mostly black bears
- 16:45Speaker 3: in Arizona, you know. I when I moved here, and
- 16:50Speaker 3: I haven't really seen a bear in Arizona except for
- 16:54Speaker 3: my uncle and up getting one, and I haven't really
- 16:57Speaker 3: seen one since I, you know, and hill I came
- 17:00Speaker 3: up here to Colorado, and I've seen two of them.
- 17:08Speaker 3: One went across the road with me almost nailed it,
- 17:11Speaker 3: and we uh, we had one that decided he wanted
- 17:17Speaker 3: to try to have a midnight snack in or trash can,
- 17:22Speaker 3: and we put a truck cam up there and it
- 17:25Speaker 3: was a younger h bear and I got the top
- 17:30Speaker 3: of him. And what happened was my father ended up
- 17:34Speaker 3: putting like an old radio that didn't work on top
- 17:37Speaker 3: of the trash can, you know, to be thrown out
- 17:40Speaker 3: the next day. And I guess when he hit the
- 17:43Speaker 3: trash can, it fell over and scared the crap out
- 17:46Speaker 3: of him and he bugied and you know, no more
- 17:49Speaker 3: Yogi other than that. I mean, I've seen a few
- 17:55Speaker 3: and it's hard telling there was a wood there is
- 17:58Speaker 3: a wood caring. Let me try that again of the
- 18:02Speaker 3: Muggion Monster. And I was looking at this picture trying
- 18:09Speaker 3: to trying to see what you know, to to look
- 18:12Speaker 3: at it and you know, to describe it to you guys.
- 18:16Speaker 3: And it's kind of weird what it looks like. If
- 18:20Speaker 3: you go to muggyon Monster, Wikipedia shows the what the
- 18:25Speaker 3: wood carving looks like, and it's kind of weird. I mean,
- 18:30Speaker 3: it looks at has like face of a man and
- 18:33Speaker 3: it's got you know, his hair and beard and ever.
- 18:38Speaker 3: It's like kind of white, and it looks like he's
- 18:41Speaker 3: got a mustache that ol Colgan would be jealous of.
- 18:46Speaker 3: I mean, it looked like he's got a handlebar mustache.
- 18:50Speaker 3: I mean it goes all the way down and it's white,
- 18:54Speaker 3: and he's holding a raccoon in his hands. And if
- 19:00Speaker 3: you go to Muggy O Monster, go to Wikipedia page
- 19:04Speaker 3: and look it up, it's it's weird. It's weird wood covering.
- 19:09Speaker 3: And I don't know if he, if the wood carver,
- 19:12Speaker 3: put his own image in it, if what he looked like,
- 19:16Speaker 3: you know, being a bigfoot, but yeah, it's it's kind
- 19:22Speaker 3: of weird. He's holding a raccoon. I don't know if
- 19:25Speaker 3: he's pet in it or about raid up. You know,
- 19:29Speaker 3: you know who knows what he wants to do with it,
- 19:32Speaker 3: But yeah, it's kind of crazy. Same as see whether
- 19:37Speaker 3: it's factor of fiction is now a permanent object within Arizona.
- 19:43Speaker 3: Scientists aren't convinced, though, of administering sightings, either the hoaxes
- 19:48Speaker 3: or general misidentification. Either way, there is a whole host
- 19:54Speaker 3: of origin stories for the monster. Each one is a
- 19:57Speaker 3: word they can't fire tell true. Got to have those
- 20:01Speaker 3: stories for the campfire. I can't just you know, be
- 20:04Speaker 3: there and just have you know, be there with the
- 20:07Speaker 3: s'mores and hot dogs and not have a good tale
- 20:11Speaker 3: or two. So if you ever hear a piercing scream
- 20:16Speaker 3: or come across the set of impossibly white footprints and
- 20:21Speaker 3: the mug yon rim, run far as we run, far away,
- 20:26Speaker 3: never look back. I don't know. Maybe he just wants to,
- 20:31Speaker 3: I mean, being in the woods a long time, you know,
- 20:34Speaker 3: Harry is you know, looking for the Hendersons or something,
- 20:39Speaker 3: and you know Harry wants to make new friends. You
- 20:44Speaker 3: know who knows so you know, do you want to run.
- 20:47Speaker 3: I don't know. Maybe you want to be new pals
- 20:50Speaker 3: with Harry. Harry will help you with the you know,
- 20:54Speaker 3: have a hot dog or ten or so. And the
- 20:58Speaker 3: muggyll Monster just might be looking deep in the woods
- 21:03Speaker 3: waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Like I said,
- 21:06Speaker 3: they want to make it where it's going to kill you.
- 21:09Speaker 3: Like like I said, it may may not. Maybe just
- 21:13Speaker 3: Harry wants a visitor and he's just so bored in
- 21:16Speaker 3: the woods. You know, he wants to meet his new family,
- 21:20Speaker 3: you know, take it or leave it, or at least
- 21:23Speaker 3: or at least he'll raid your food stash. Maybe he's hungry.
- 21:28Speaker 3: I mean, how many times you can get tired of
- 21:31Speaker 3: eat fish all day? And you know, and small creatures
- 21:35Speaker 3: and I mean, heck, I would like to rate up.
- 21:39Speaker 3: I mean, Yogi steals picnic boxes. You know, maybe he
- 21:43Speaker 3: wants to picnic bask for himself. You know, you know,
- 21:46Speaker 3: I can't blame the poor guy got the he got
- 21:50Speaker 3: the idea form Yogi. Who knows? If you ever heard
- 21:55Speaker 3: of the Muggio Monster or perhaps a spot in it,
- 21:59Speaker 3: tell us on the Paranormal Goal Stories at gmail dot
- 22:03Speaker 3: com and a bonus points for a photo if you
- 22:07Speaker 3: allege if you have alleged beast very spine chilling urban
- 22:12Speaker 3: legends in Arizona, well you know that's that's what we have.
- 22:17Speaker 3: And hope you enjoy this story, and I hope that
- 22:22Speaker 3: if you have any stories out there and you want
- 22:25Speaker 3: us to see it, say it on the podcast. You
- 22:30Speaker 3: could email me or email the story to me at
- 22:34Speaker 3: the Paranormal ghost Stories at gmail dot com, and we'd
- 22:38Speaker 3: like to hear from you. And hope everyone has a
- 22:42Speaker 3: good week rest of your week and in a good weekend,
- 22:48Speaker 3: and I will continue and be able to get back
- 22:55Speaker 3: to normal and be able to do what I want
- 22:57Speaker 3: to do. Until then, my friends, stay, stay beautiful, and
- 23:04Speaker 3: stay spooky. Have a nice day.
