- 0:01And the growth of a person, we came, there you go.
- 0:06We came to a little cough. And that little cough we dealt
- 0:09with cavort, cavort of rabbi, cavort of parents, cavort of
- 0:13elders. And now a little cough.
- 0:15We started last week another topic that's literally one of
- 0:19the most significant topics in life.
- 0:21And that is the topic of cough, which is Cos anger.
- 0:25So there are two things to talk about comes anger, what it does
- 0:28to you and what it does to other people.
- 0:30So we saw it last week with all the heavy stuff, how someone
- 0:35who's gets angry, it's if he serves idols, someone who who
- 0:41gets angry is failing the test of life.
- 0:44When we test people, we test them how they are with their
- 0:48money, with their anger, right? Because, so, because, so,
- 0:51because, so one of the main ones are how they are when they get
- 0:54angry. Anger is the defining factor for
- 0:57many people and who you are while I'm moving around, says
- 1:01Lord, don't get angry so that you don't sin.
- 1:05Anger is considered someone is often angry, they're considered
- 1:09they have a door open to sin. Why is anger so bad and why do
- 1:13we have so many sources the anger so terrible?
- 1:16The reason is because anger destroys during those periods of
- 1:20time. When someone gets angry, they
- 1:22literally destroy their own life and we compare it with us that
- 1:26we're saying is it's considered the worst sin.
- 1:29Why is angry say the worst sin? Because while a person is in the
- 1:32fit of rage, nothing holds them back.
- 1:35And that's why you can say the words call me *** All sorts of
- 1:40gehenam are available to this person.
- 1:43Why? Because they have a lot of
- 1:45things that they would do. Regular person has a sound mind.
- 1:49A regular person thinks clearly. Yeah, of course, your judgment
- 1:53can be messed up a little bit at times.
- 1:55You can be confused, you can be convinced, you can be off.
- 1:59But anger is a position which a person does not want to be in
- 2:03because that's a position that I'm not here.
- 2:06And if I'm not here, I can say things I would never say, I can
- 2:10do things I would never do. I can react in ways I would
- 2:13never react. And that's considered for myself
- 2:16completely going off the rails. That's a significant issue with
- 2:20anger. That's why anger is considered
- 2:21this $3 to destructive right The way he says it.
- 2:26Madaj says Vamru Hakkas missile catamaur kas removes vision.
- 2:33What do you mean removes your vision?
- 2:34This point it removes your ability to see.
- 2:36You cannot see things clearly. You you pride yourself in being
- 2:40a very clear sound mind and body.
- 2:43Then comes anger takes you away. Vamu call a quest anyone who's
- 2:48angry listen to this Imharamu. If he's wise, it says he loses
- 2:54his wisdom Hakmato hakmato me select a minute.
- 2:57He loses that wisdom then not view.
- 2:59If he's a prophet, he's unable to be a prophet.
- 3:02Who's the classic example of this concept?
- 3:05The classic example to this degree.
- 3:07This degree is Moshe. I've been Moshe.
- 3:10I've been got angry a few times for real reasons.
- 3:13By the way, Moshe didn't gain you for no reason.
- 3:15We we found the yes, he's considered the most unknowable
- 3:18man alive. So if he ever in history, so if
- 3:21he got angry, it was for a reason.
- 3:22And when he got angry, he forgot the halacha, he forgot the
- 3:26Mosheben who was the most sit out tonight.
- 3:28He's the one who brought down the Torah and he himself forgot
- 3:32the halacha, forgot that Torah during the periods of time that
- 3:36he got angry because when someone is angry, they're not
- 3:38here. Literally, it's a mental state
- 3:41that our brain goes into which takes our brain away from being
- 3:45us. And so the first part of this
- 3:48topic is a person should realize all the only one you're hurting
- 3:53when you get angry is yourself. Forget the other people for now.
- 3:56When a person gets into a fit of rage, they're losing themselves.
- 3:59Is there a time for one to get angry?
- 4:02There are times that a person should get upset.
- 4:05There are times that a person should get, you know, show their
- 4:07seriousness. Hardly ever should you get
- 4:09angry. It's not really a sign that
- 4:11should ever be on your radar. The way that our bomb says and
- 4:15our bomb says, we have a rule well known that our bomb call me
- 4:20dot, a person should be dead at M saye.
- 4:23A person should always be in the middle of the road.
- 4:25It shouldn't be an extreme. When it comes to the top of
- 4:28anger, that's the one one topic of Allah kas MI Dada aiadam or
- 4:34that's such a terrible trait that a person should distance
- 4:38themselves to the other extreme. Try in any way you can to train
- 4:42yourself to avoid anger. That doesn't mean you can't get
- 4:46upset. It doesn't mean things cannot
- 4:48bother you. It just means you do not want to
- 4:51have that switch, the switch that turns you off, that switch
- 4:55you want to get out of your system.
- 4:57Why? Because it ruins your own life.
- 4:59You can function as a beautiful person and just those few
- 5:02moments in a week, in a month, in a year, those few moments are
- 5:06the parts that you have to spend your entire life fixing up.
- 5:09And the parts that really can destroy a relationship, can
- 5:13destroy a business, can destroy your mind, can destroy your
- 5:16emotions, those few moments. That's why you do not want to
- 5:19have that switch. It's part of our wiring that
- 5:21that switch exists. It's part of our job to do
- 5:25whatever we can to train ourselves.
- 5:27As a side point, how do you train yourself?
- 5:30The best way to train yourself on this is patience, some degree
- 5:34of time, which means something. Usually anger is a reactionary
- 5:38thing, not something that's built up.
- 5:40I mean, it could be built up, but it's not something that
- 5:42just, you know, it just happens like this.
- 5:44Something happened and now you're very, very upset and you
- 5:47go train yourself to figure out a way to pause.
- 5:51If you can pause or you get upset, sure.
- 5:54But this fit of rage will be under your control.
- 5:58And if you could have control just to hold back from that full
- 6:01version of anger, that full wrist, you have that control and
- 6:06you're saving yourself from this entire world, a world of
- 6:09destruction, a world of relationships that are broken
- 6:12all the time, a world of unbelievable, you know, life
- 6:15fixing things up. You can save yourself from that.
- 6:18And you figure out a way to get that pause bind, just to pause.
- 6:22It doesn't mean you can't have a reaction.
- 6:24It does not mean. Can't you channel your anger to
- 6:26positive? If you're in a reactionary mood
- 6:29now you're actually very you're not in control.
- 6:31It's the same as drunk 'cause so and and cause so.
- 6:35Same way a person is intoxicated and no control.
- 6:38So to someone is angry. If they allow themselves to get
- 6:42to that point and they do not have a means to get off, then
- 6:46they really can't. You wish you could guide it to
- 6:48good For me, it's. Motivation.
- 6:50A lot of times it's motivation, 'cause I don't get angry, I'm
- 6:52just going to get motivated by. If you're a person in a position
- 6:56who is thinking while you're angry, if you're able to get to
- 6:59the point that you're thinking motivation or you're thinking
- 7:01channeling, what you're saying to yourself is I'm not really in
- 7:04that fit of rage. The real fit of rage is no, no
- 7:07area for brain. The whole point, the whole issue
- 7:09with this topic is that it's an area that a regular fine human
- 7:13being can be taken off of this planet.
- 7:16And that's the problem with it. It's because you want to remain
- 7:19here. You do not want to be a person.
- 7:20I, I don't like ever, honestly speaking.
- 7:23I don't drink. I drink, I drink, I'm putting,
- 7:26that's it. I don't really drink and even
- 7:27bring, I'm not allowing myself to get too far.
- 7:30Really honestly, why at this point in time, I'm scared.
- 7:34I don't want to be in a position that I'm not in control.
- 7:37I can't handle it. I don't want to be ever say
- 7:39something that I that I can't take back.
- 7:41I don't want. I really don't.
- 7:43Because of that, you never see me in that position.
- 7:45Anger is the exact same thing. It's an area of our existence
- 7:50and it's out of our control now. We can't stop that position.
- 7:53We're there. It just comes, we have to figure
- 7:56out a way to pause ourselves to slow it down right before it
- 7:59comes. And if you can find that
- 8:01mechanism, maybe it's your own history, which means maybe
- 8:05you've been that road before and you've seen what it did to you
- 8:07and now you say to yourself, I don't want to do it.
- 8:10Or you look at that other person and you saw him get angry and
- 8:13you look what happened to their life.
- 8:14We'll look what happened to our relationship because they're
- 8:16angry and that is what they use, is what you use as your
- 8:20motivation to figure out a way or maybe, yes, maybe in your
- 8:23mind. You say, I always want to
- 8:24produce, I never want to destroy.
- 8:27And this is the one area of my life that if I allow it to
- 8:30exist, it'll be destructive. So instead, I tell myself in
- 8:34advance, I'm a builder, I'm a positive person in general, but
- 8:38I also get angry. I'm going to use those
- 8:40situations as a means to fuel me.
- 8:44If you say that in advance, then your response will possibly be
- 8:47fuel. You'll be upset, no question
- 8:49about it. You'll be turned off.
- 8:51They'll use it as fuel, but you won't allow yourself to get to
- 8:55that point. That point is a position you
- 8:58never want to be in. So he said one second, what
- 9:01about the fact that you have children, you have employees,
- 9:04you have people who need to be told that they're wrong and they
- 9:07make mistakes, or worse than that, they do things that are
- 9:09wrong. Forget mistakes, the things that
- 9:11are wrong and now you want to rebuke them, You want to respond
- 9:15to them, you want to react, he says clearly.
- 9:18Never allow it to be a real reaction.
- 9:22If you want to react, you want it to be productive.
- 9:24Even if you want to get upset, your chosen or your employees,
- 9:27the goal is production by your employees.
- 9:29The overall theme is let's make money, right?
- 9:32So if your goal is production, then you have a right to react.
- 9:35But again, with the productive nature, which means you show
- 9:38them that you're upset, but you're not really upset inside
- 9:41or better yet by your children. This really applies by your
- 9:45children. We all know it.
- 9:46We love to say that we don't get angry at our children.
- 9:48We love to say at that point, everyone loves to say it.
- 9:50It's not true. People get angry at their
- 9:52children. They get frustrated with their
- 9:53children all the time. Children cannot frustrate you.
- 9:56They know how to push the buttons, right?
- 9:57You're raising them. It's a constant process, a
- 9:59development process, and they can frustrate you.
- 10:02So what do you do with this point?
- 10:03Are you telling me I can't get angry?
- 10:05Think about the net, the overall goal.
- 10:08What is the overall goal of raising our children?
- 10:10If the children La Lena do not turn out the way we want, then
- 10:14that's something that we're not happy with.
- 10:16The overall goal with raising children is an overall positive.
- 10:19We want to produce, we want them to produce.
- 10:22We want them to represent us world.
- 10:24We want our future to be bright. We want all of that.
- 10:27So now if I allow myself to get angry and a destructive means
- 10:31toward my children, then what am I doing?
- 10:34Just destroying, not building. But if I wire myself in a way
- 10:37that I recognize every inch of my life needs to be productive,
- 10:42including getting upset at my children.
- 10:44I wanted to be productive. So then he says, get angry at
- 10:47them with show them anger by yourself.
- 10:50You should not be angry, which means so that show them, you
- 10:54know, discipline, show them that you're upset.
- 10:56Put them in the corner where it used to be in my day, whatever
- 10:58it was, it used to be the belt. Then it was the corner.
- 11:00Whatever it is today, today is probably a hug.
- 11:03Whatever version you have, show them that.
- 11:06All right, show them that. Show them that thing, make that
- 11:10your face. But in reality, you do never,
- 11:13never want to have that mindset of wrath.
- 11:17Now, it's very hard to wire yourself this way, but it's
- 11:20fully worth it. I want to just switch gears for
- 11:24one second to the other part of this topic.
- 11:26The other part of this topic is called Que peda Captainut.
- 11:30Captainut is someone who gets upset, not angry, which means an
- 11:34intimidating person. I'll tell you personally, my
- 11:37least favorite person in the world is the person who's
- 11:41intimidating. Why is my least favorite person?
- 11:44Because you can't function around such a person.
- 11:46All you want to do is get away. If you have a boss that's
- 11:50intimidating, all you're doing is trying to avoid meeting him.
- 11:53And in the end, it ruins, it takes the whole air out of the
- 11:56room and it ruins the ability to have proper communication and
- 12:00productivity. And if you have a parent who is
- 12:02intimidating all the children, grandparents, I say this about
- 12:05grandparents all the time. My humble opinion about
- 12:08grandparents, should they discipline?
- 12:09Yes. And make sure you don't become a
- 12:12child parent, grandparent that the grandchild doesn't want to
- 12:15be around. Because if that's the case, they
- 12:16just won't be around them because they have that choice.
- 12:19Parents, they don't have that choice.
- 12:20Grandparents, in a certain sense, the grandchildren have
- 12:23that choice. And if you're an intimidating
- 12:25person, and by the way, we're all inclined to be intimidating.
- 12:29We want to give over our presence.
- 12:30We want to give over our feelings and our beliefs, and
- 12:34we're inclined to be intimidating.
- 12:36Realize, if you're intimidating, you are ruining the room.
- 12:39It's the most unbelievably destructive nature that a person
- 12:43could have by being intimidating.
- 12:45I think about this all the time. I know if I had to deal with
- 12:47someone that's intimidating for me, I run circles.
- 12:49I, I run around that person and I don't talk to them directly
- 12:53and it takes away from me so much productivity because I have
- 12:57to now deal with the other person.
- 12:59I can't talk to them directly. I have to tip toe what I say to
- 13:02them. And you know what it could have
- 13:04been I dealt with something recently that if I could just be
- 13:07open with the person, it would have speed up the process so
- 13:11much faster. But it's a certain entire person
- 13:13that I'm careful around. If you have to be careful around
- 13:16that person, you've broken down the means of communication and
- 13:20you've broken down the flow of building.
- 13:22You know, we make fun of the modern day.
- 13:24We just made fun of modern day parenting, modern day
- 13:27communication. That's one area the modern day
- 13:29got right, which is the more you have communication, the better
- 13:33you are in every area. You take coaching and sports,
- 13:36you take parenting, grandparents, teachers to
- 13:39students today, thank God, communication is so much
- 13:42stronger. And because communication is so
- 13:45much stronger, you've shortened that distance, which is a
- 13:49distance that you have. And you had a teacher in the old
- 13:51days, right? You had a teacher in the old
- 13:53days. You were scared of them.
- 13:55By being scared of them, maybe you acted better.
- 13:57But if you need to have a relationship with that teacher
- 13:59that was out the window, you can have a relationship because it
- 14:01was scary, intimidating. Give a parent that's
- 14:04intimidating. How could you have a
- 14:05relationship with a parent that's intimidating?
- 14:07You'd rather not see them. That's the reality.
- 14:09You'd rather not be around them. And maybe that allowed you to
- 14:12copy them and to learn from them, yes, but it did not allow
- 14:15you to communicate. And the same thing is true with
- 14:17the boss and the worker. If you have, if you're an A
- 14:21boss, an employer who the workers are scared of, what do
- 14:25they do? They're talking behind your
- 14:26back, They work around you. They don't talk to you directly.
- 14:30And then that means that connection and building is gone.
- 14:33Whereas if you have someone who's casual with you, who's
- 14:37nice to you, who's loose around you, then automatically you're a
- 14:43building team. There's no separation and
- 14:45there's no destruction. And these are the two points.
- 14:48Anger. The first part of this class
- 14:51destroys yourself. The only the main person anger
- 14:55ruins is ourselves. We think we get angry at other
- 14:58people. We can be tough on them.
- 14:59You're ruining your own self and you get angry.
- 15:02Being intimidating ruins other people doesn't ruin yourself.
- 15:06Ultimately it does, but it ruins other people because the other
- 15:08people cannot communicate with you, they can't talk to you, and
- 15:12they can't really fall properly. Matil Emma to bring fear on your
- 15:17home is considered one of the worst me thought a person can
- 15:20have. For a husband to walk into the
- 15:22house and the wife was scared of him.
- 15:24For a wife to walk into the house.
- 15:26And yes it's even possible this way too and the husband is
- 15:29scared of her for a child to walk into the house and now the
- 15:32child is scared of their parents or even vice versa.
- 15:34These types of traits are Matil, Emma and you suck the air out of
- 15:39the room, you've ruined the means of communication and
- 15:42you've taken away the beautiful flow a person can have in their
- 15:45relationships for no reason other than the fact that you
- 15:49think of being intimidating. Now let me tell you the honest
- 15:50truth about all intimidating people.
- 15:52The humble opinion, just the final part because I've been
- 15:55around a lot of them. I'm the type of guy personally
- 15:58that I used to be. I can be easily intimidated.
- 16:00Used to be. If I have a person that's scary,
- 16:03they they just have me locked into a corner.
- 16:05I can't function around them. I can't talk to them and I'm
- 16:08like a little sheep. Over time, I've worked on myself
- 16:12enough to not be intimidated anymore by these people because
- 16:15of the following reason and this is the most important thing and
- 16:18that is been around a lot of them intimidating people in my
- 16:21life life. Most of them do not have so much
- 16:25going on. Most of them use the
- 16:27intimidating factor as a cover for what they really are, which
- 16:32is insecure. Not so much going on.
- 16:35They need a little boost to the ego and they have a whole world
- 16:38that they're building. The entire world is this image.
- 16:41It's not that they have so much going for them and therefore
- 16:45they can give over this demeanor of I'm such a confident and
- 16:49boring person and you have to work around me.
- 16:51No, no, they have so little going for them, and therefore
- 16:54they wrap themselves in this costume and this image of
- 16:59strength, insecurity, slash confidence.
- 17:02It's a sketch. And because of that, they make
- 17:04other people scared solely for the reason that that's how they
- 17:07exist. If you remove this demeanor,
- 17:10then these people would really be nothing.
- 17:13That's most intimidating people. So if you're going to be an
- 17:15intimidating person, recognize the fact that initially it's an
- 17:18awesome feeling. It happens to be for these
- 17:21people, Balagava, these arrogant people.
- 17:23It's an awesome feeling. Everyone's scared of them.
- 17:25Everyone's going over to them. Everyone's making sure to only
- 17:28say nice things to them. If all they get is nice things
- 17:31all day, it means they're intimidating.
- 17:32That's what it means because people are scared.
- 17:35They turn them off. They got them upset to wrong
- 17:38them, to cross them. It starts off awesome, but it
- 17:41ends up as I always think what would be if you took away from
- 17:45that intimidating person his thing, if it's his wealth, if
- 17:50it's his position, his leadership in the company and he
- 17:54took that away. Just if you just stripped that
- 17:56person of that position, what would happen?
- 17:59Would he have friends or people like him?
- 18:02Well, if he's a nice guy, yes, I understand that that positions
- 18:06make bring more people. I understand now.
- 18:07Now you can't be a fool to say that without the position will
- 18:10be in the exact same position. That's fine, but would people
- 18:12like him? If yes, he's a great guy.
- 18:15If no, then he's a sketch. He's this guy.
- 18:18Why? Because then he's all demeanor,
- 18:20no reality. And our job is to realize that
- 18:24if you're going to be an intimidating person, you're
- 18:26rooting it for the people around you and you're really revealing
- 18:29your true colors, which is really revealing the fact that
- 18:32we're insecure. So someone who's nice, someone
- 18:35who's easy, I'm going to tell you something.
- 18:38I close at this point. They're really great people.
- 18:42The real Gadolin, the really great people had none of this.
- 18:46This is a modern day sketch. They're a really great people.
- 18:50They were easy, they were nice. You know, all the books about
- 18:53the Gadolin have the fact that they dealt with the small
- 18:56people. They dealt with the Hazi case.
- 18:58They had Hazi cases around them all the time.
- 19:01All the time. They had a a nephew that wasn't
- 19:04well or a cousin that wasn't well or a student that brought
- 19:07them out or stolen by the table. It was difficult all the time.
- 19:10And all they had were their children who were trying to get
- 19:13rid of these people that they are bothering us.
- 19:15He. Never got angry.
- 19:17Right. Rob never got angry at his wife.
- 19:18Exactly. His one wife was.
- 19:19It was a problem. That's true.
- 19:21And there's so many examples throughout history of regular of
- 19:25great people who had these strange people around them and
- 19:29they never would say a word. Why?
- 19:31Because they were easy. And then you have the people who
- 19:34are working on perfecting their image and now clean, perfect,
- 19:40they always seem like they're pristine in the position of
- 19:43power. It's all a phony and a sketch
- 19:46within you and I, you take that shell away and it's all a
- 19:50sketch. Why?
- 19:50Because a really great person would not be in that perfect
- 19:54persona. You can't perfect it.
- 19:56It's really a sketch. And a person has to be wary of
- 19:59the fact that as I grow, as I build, I got to be careful.
- 20:03That I'm not, you know, getting it, letting it get to my head.
- 20:06And I'm not trying to build this intimidating way.
- 20:09If I do and kids can't talk to me and how these people can't
- 20:12talk to me and regular people are scared of me that I'm doing
- 20:16something wrong because I'm allowing it get to get in my
- 20:18head. I'm changing who I am.
- 20:20Our job is to realize never be an intimidating person because
- 20:25you take the air out of the room and you destroy it for other
- 20:27people. And ultimately you destroy it
- 20:29for yourself because your relationships go down the
- 20:31window, go out the window, the communication is gone and the
- 20:36ability to build real building is gone.
- 20:39So fear and intimidation, these two things that are impressive
- 20:43about anger and intimidation, 2 things that are strong, they're
- 20:46really all signs of weakness and the signs of destruction of our
- 20:49persons. We have to avoid them.
- 20:51And of course, that's the idea some of this.
