- 0:44>> Speaker A: Whoa. What have we here?
- 0:47>> Speaker B: Hey, we're already behind schedule. Why did
- 0:50you stop doing it?
- 0:51>> Skylar: I,
- 0:51>> Speaker A: I found something.
- 0:57>> Speaker B: What do you mean you found something? We've only got a
- 1:00couple weeks left to clear this area where the boss man is gonna start
- 1:03cutting our checks.
- 1:04>> Speaker A: I know, I know, but I just. I
- 1:07saw something in the dirt and I figured I should check it
- 1:09out. That's what the camp owner
- 1:12guy said to do, right?
- 1:14>> Speaker B: No, you're right. But it better be good. We can't be
- 1:17shutting down every time we see a shiny rock.
- 1:19>> Speaker A: You should u take a look at this.
- 1:21>> Speaker B: Well, now, this here is an interesting
- 1:24find indeed.
- 1:25>> Speaker A: Do you have any idea what this is? Some
- 1:28carved stick from a hundred years ago?
- 1:30>> Speaker B: Yeah, something like that. There's all sorts of
- 1:33relics that were left behind by the native tribes and early
- 1:36settlers scattered across this island. This here looks
- 1:39like some kind of totem.
- 1:41>> Speaker A: Whoa. any idea how old it is? How much is
- 1:44it worth?
- 1:45>> Speaker B: First of all, asking questions like that is going to get
- 1:48us in trouble. The camp owner owns this land, and
- 1:51therefore anything we find belongs to him. I
- 1:54don't care how much it's worth. You try and keep
- 1:56anything, we are both getting fired.
- 1:59Secondly, I've been working in Construction for
- 2:0123 years. How in the world would I know anything about
- 2:04ancient Native American relics?
- 2:07>> Speaker A: Oh, right. Sorry.
- 2:08>> Speaker B: That's fine. I'm just warning you. Don't go pocketing
- 2:11anything.
- 2:12>> Speaker A: Understood, sir.
- 2:13>> Speaker B: You know, this totem reminds me of the old legend
- 2:16about what happened to the settlers that originally landed on this
- 2:19island.
- 2:19>> Speaker A: A, legend?
- 2:20>> Speaker B: Yeah. You don't know about the lost colony of
- 2:23Roanoke?
- 2:24>> Cameron: No, sir.
- 2:25>> Speaker A: Can't say I've ever heard of it.
- 2:26>> Speaker B: Didn't you listen in history class? This is a
- 2:29famous American mystery. See,
- 2:32a whole group of settlers, some of the first to stepp foot
- 2:35on American shores, tried to settle here on this
- 2:37island. But they didn't have enough supplies to last through the
- 2:40winter. So their leader, a fellow named
- 2:43John White, headed back to England to bring back the
- 2:46necessary stocks the settlers would need. But he
- 2:49got stuck. You see, it took him three years
- 2:52before he was able to get back here. And when he did return,
- 2:55the whole settlement was gone, Not a soul in
- 2:58sight. All he found was the carving on a
- 3:01wooden post that read, grow a toan.
- 3:03>> Speaker A: Whoa. what happened
- 3:06to them?
- 3:07>> Speaker B: Well, if we knew for sure, it wouldn't be a
- 3:10great American myiseery now, would it? With that being
- 3:13said, there's lots of theories out there, like they died
- 3:15of disease or just integrated with the local native
- 3:18tribes. My theory revolves around them all
- 3:21getting wiped out by a Wendigo.
- 3:23>> Speaker A: A wend what?
- 3:24>> Speaker B: A Wendigo. A horrible monster spawned
- 3:26from a person who feasted on human flesh, who couldnt
- 3:29shake the taste to the point any where it became an addiction.
- 3:33Their insatiable hunger for more slowly changing them
- 3:35into a horned monstrosity known as the
- 3:38Wendigo that hunts the forest, seeking out lost
- 3:41campers and hikers who strayed too far from their
- 3:44path.
- 3:45>> Speaker A: Yikes.
- 3:46>> Speaker B: Yikes is right. But that's all myth and
- 3:48legend. We need to get back to work.
- 3:51I'll take this totem back to the camp with me. You keep
- 3:54on digging. You find anything else, just set it
- 3:57aside for the time being. But please try and
- 4:00keep on schedule. Our job is to prep this land
- 4:03for building, not running archaeological
- 4:05expedition.
- 4:06>> Speaker A: Yes, sir.
- 4:16U hello? Is
- 4:19someone there?
- 4:23Hello?
- 4:25Hello? Hey, look, this is an
- 4:28active construction zone. You're really not supposed
- 4:31to.
- 4:33>> Skylar: No
- 4:56M.
- 5:00Welcome everybody to our special annual
- 5:03Monster of the Week Halloween special. One shot.
- 5:06That's a lot of title. But the key thing that you need to
- 5:09know is that the title of this one
- 5:12shot is Terror
- 5:15at Camp Roanoke. Joining me
- 5:17today for this very special one shot, we got
- 5:20Cameron, who you probably all recognize from most of
- 5:23our series. We've got Connor, who has been a
- 5:26guest star on a couple of them and also
- 5:29has been on Bender and Bru,
- 5:32our original series as Brock Lee. And then
- 5:34finally we have Fatty Lumpkins, who has
- 5:37played Keto you'll recognize as Keto from
- 5:40criminals Violet Numis. so welcome all
- 5:43three of you to this very special again, Monster of the Week
- 5:46One shot. Things are going to get spooky. Things are going toa get
- 5:49scary. But before they can get spooky and scary,
- 5:52we need to know what the stakes are. And by
- 5:55that I mean who the heck your characters are that are about to get
- 5:58haunted or otherwise
- 6:00terrified by what I have planned.
- 6:03So starting with Cameron, why
- 6:05not tell me a little bit about your,
- 6:08>> Cameron: Hi, I'm Cameron.
- 6:09>> Skylar: Yes, you are. Cameron, tell me a little bit about your character. Who
- 6:12are you playing? What does he look like?
- 6:14>> Fatty Lumpkins: give me.
- 6:15>> Skylar: Give me a brief description we get.
- 6:16>> Cameron: Do you have my reference sheet?
- 6:18>> Skylar: No, I. Well, yes, I do, probably. Yeah.
- 6:21>> Cameron: My form that I filled out.
- 6:23>> Skylar: No, I don't.
- 6:24>> Cameron: Dang it.
- 6:25>> Cameron: I sent you an eight page thing and then delete it on my
- 6:28end.
- 6:28>> Skylar: As soon as I saw how many pages it was. I just kind of ignore.
- 6:31Okay.
- 6:32>> Cameron: My guy's name is Martin fresh.
- 6:34>> Cameron: Fresh.
- 6:35>> Cameron: He is 37.
- 6:37>> Skylar: Okay.
- 6:38>> Cameron: He works at the local high school.
- 6:40>> Skylar: Okay.
- 6:41>> Cameron: He is the history teacher saying, the
- 6:44form you filled.
- 6:44>> Skylar: Yeah. Oh, yeah. I'm looking right at it.
- 6:46>> Cameron: I'm trying to do it from memory right here.
- 6:48>> Skylar: Yeah, I've had. You meant like you sent me something
- 6:51outside of this. Yes. Okay, so the high school he taught at
- 6:54high school. What?
- 6:55>> Cameron: Yeah.
- 6:56>> Skylar: Just is currently. Yes, but it's summer.
- 6:58>> Cameron: It's summer. Which is why he's picked up this job. Right?
- 7:01You ask that later.
- 7:02>> Skylar: Yeah, I was gonna say that's a question I asked later, but I mean, it's.
- 7:05>> Cameron: His reasoning is pretty simple.
- 7:07>> Skylar: Right.
- 7:07>> Cameron: He needs to pick up some extra work during the summer.
- 7:10>> Skylar: Sure.
- 7:11>> Cameron: So, yeah.
- 7:11>> Skylar: As teachers often do.
- 7:12>> Cameron: Yeah.
- 7:12>> Speaker A: And he's.
- 7:13>> Cameron: So he's going to work.
- 7:13>> Skylar: What does he look like?
- 7:15>> Cameron: Average. Like, think basic
- 7:18white man. Basic white man with
- 7:21a basic haircut and white
- 7:24man haircut. Yeah. And
- 7:26looks like he could blend into.
- 7:28>> Skylar: Any crowd as long as they were white.
- 7:30>> Cameron: Any crowd.
- 7:31>> Skylar: In a crowd. Wow. I don't know. I went to a family.
- 7:34Okay.
- 7:34>> Cameron: New York crowd.
- 7:35>> Skylar: Okay.
- 7:36>> Cameron: not New York's. A little more variety. How
- 7:39about we go with, like, Philadelphia?
- 7:42>> Skylar: You just say anything in the south, probably.
- 7:44>> Cameron: Oh, yeah. Dallas.
- 7:45>> Skylar: Yes. Okay. Fair.
- 7:47>> Cameron: He's in Dallas.
- 7:48>> Skylar: Okay, so, we.
- 7:49>> Cameron: Nowhere. Nowhere near Dallas. Massachusetts.
- 7:52>> Skylar: Okay. Okay.
- 7:53>> Cameron: So that's where we are, right?
- 7:54>> Skylar: no, you're in North Carolina, actually.
- 7:56>> Cameron: Oh, North Carolina works. That probably works really well there.
- 7:59>> Skylar: Yes, absolutely. so tell me about Martin
- 8:02Fresh. What he yearns for, what he
- 8:05is hoping to someday achieve, Whether or not that
- 8:08relates to his job here at camp.
- 8:10>> Cameron: he has a master thesis
- 8:13slash research book. He wants to write about the
- 8:16Aztec empire.
- 8:17>> Skylar: Okay.
- 8:18>> Cameron: Don.
- 8:18>> Skylar: Don't we all. We all love writing about the
- 8:21Aztecs. are there any specific
- 8:24beliefs that he kind of holds to? Anything
- 8:27that he, would be willing to fight for?
- 8:30what's. What's sort of the deeper side of.
- 8:33>> Cameron: I 100% forgot what I wrote for this.
- 8:36>> Skylar: Youisa being fair and kind. He tries his best. Do the right
- 8:39thing. He's very, like, neutral good. Kind
- 8:42of. If we're talking on D and D terms, maybe even lawful good. For
- 8:45the most part.
- 8:45>> Cameron: Yeah. That's probably the best way. Thiscrib.
- 8:47>> Skylar: He's just a good guy. Ye. Generally good guy, which is good.
- 8:50As far as he's a teacher, he'd.
- 8:52>> Cameron: Be more neutral good than lawful good.
- 8:54>> Skylar: Yeah.
- 8:55>> Cameron: But he tries to do the right thing. When presented the
- 8:58option, as far.
- 8:58>> Skylar: As social settings go, just so we can get an idea of Your
- 9:01character going in, like, how does he tend to
- 9:04react to being around other people?
- 9:07Especially if the strangers.
- 9:08>> Cameron: Oh, he's very introverted. but like, if
- 9:11you like sat down to him with him and talked with him,
- 9:14he'd be actually really. He's not like the introvert
- 9:17that can't hold a conversation. He's really good at
- 9:20holding conversations. and he gets interested by
- 9:23talking to people. It's just he's not good at starting them. So he just
- 9:25doesn't. also, I forgot to mention, he has a wife.
- 9:28>> Skylar: Yeah. Ah.
- 9:28>> Cameron: And two kids.
- 9:29>> Skylar: Oh.
- 9:30>> Cameron: So.
- 9:30>> Speaker A: Man.
- 9:31>> Skylar: And the stakes just went up for my character.
- 9:33>> Cameron: Yes. But he's just going to a summer
- 9:35camp where.
- 9:37>> Skylar: Yeah. Oh, yeah. Nothing happens. Yeah, Nothing.
- 9:38>> Cameron: All I wasnna say, he's just gonna have a good time, slice the life
- 9:41and then just leave and go back home to his family.
- 9:44>> Skylar: That's right.
- 9:44>> Cameron: Yeah.
- 9:45>> Skylar: so with that being said, tell me a little bit about his stats
- 9:48as far as from your character she perspective. Tell me a little bit about
- 9:51Martin Fresh. What. What did he take as far as the
- 9:53monster of the week stats? What equipment does he
- 9:56have? What moves does he have? Yes, that's from the
- 9:59basic one.
- 10:00>> Cameron: He has two charm, one cool, one
- 10:02sharp, zero tough, and minus one weird.
- 10:05>> Skylar: Okay, he's not a very weird guy.
- 10:07>> Cameron: Which fair enough.
- 10:07>> Skylar: He's an average dude. Yeah. And he's a teacher he works
- 10:10off of earlier.
- 10:12>> Cameron: Whoops, I did it wrong. I'm zero cool. Cuz he's
- 10:14not cool either. He's a history teacher.
- 10:17>> Skylar: Oh, savage. Savage. All those history teachers out
- 10:20there that.
- 10:20>> Cameron: Are listening and they went. It's tough, but true.
- 10:24my moves are always the victim. Let's get out of here.
- 10:27And what could go wrong?
- 10:28>> Skylar: Okay, nice.
- 10:29>> Cameron: And then my gear is. I have a golf club and
- 10:32a pocket knife.
- 10:33>> Skylar: Okay.
- 10:34>> Cameron: And then I don't need my
- 10:37car. I have a car, but I had to leave it at
- 10:40the bust stay.
- 10:40>> Fatty Lumpkins: So station and drove him inside of the bus seation
- 10:43camp.
- 10:44>> Cameron: So.
- 10:44>> Skylar: Okay, fantastic. well, who knows if that
- 10:47car may come into play at the very end.
- 10:50>> Cameron: My 2018 Honda Civic.
- 10:52>> Skylar: Yeah, your 2018 Honda Civic. Not a sponsor. although
- 10:55I don't know if it. Why would they sponsor us to talk about an
- 10:58older model of their co. Just kind of a
- 11:00liable if you had a do.
- 11:02>> Cameron: Very reliable.
- 11:03>> Skylar: Awesome. Beantastic. Okay, so that.
- 11:05>> Cameron: Wait, you told me that was the slogan for this thing. That's still the
- 11:07reason I'm Dr. Is I. Ah, him.
- 11:09>> Skylar: Roan out. Sponsored.
- 11:12Sponsored. Not sponsored.
- 11:14>> Cameron: Loosely. Sponsored by 2018.
- 11:17Wish it was sponsored by Dale's's
- 11:19ah used car
- 11:21dealership specifically. Come get your
- 11:24Honda Civics today.
- 11:26>> Skylar: You know, the fact that I used Carly dealership would push us
- 11:29to explicitly talk about 2018 Honda Civics really kind
- 11:32of suggests that he has a lot in inventory and that
- 11:35kind of.
- 11:35>> Cameron: Put was expecting a bigger rush.
- 11:39>> Skylar: Whatever the case, let's jump over to Connor.
- 11:41>> Speaker A: Yeah.
- 11:42>> Skylar: Who is your character.
- 11:44>> Cameron: So he went through a bit of a change
- 11:46just between the writing and the sitting
- 11:49down because we had.
- 11:50>> Cameron: We had.
- 11:54>> Cameron: Well, he's not like a fully changes. Anyways.
- 11:57>> Cameron: We got a 20 something year old kid.
- 12:00>> Skylar: Okay. Goes by the name of Soapy Joe.
- 12:03Soapy Joe. Is that his. His. His Christian.
- 12:05>> Cameron: Is that his Christian name or is that his.
- 12:07>> Skylar: That's his.
- 12:08>> Cameron: That's his stage name. The man is a. He's one of
- 12:11those small time conspiracy youtubers.
- 12:14>> Skylar: Oh, very cool.
- 12:15>> Cameron: Got like 50k subs. He had
- 12:18like one viral video.
- 12:19>> Skylar: It's honly prety.
- 12:20>> Cameron: Got like a good amount of following and then
- 12:23it's just stopped at like 50.
- 12:25>> Skylar: I can't wait to hear about what. That, what that one big
- 12:28viral lead. Yeah.
- 12:29>> Cameron: You got like one virus.
- 12:30>> Skylar: Sure it'll come up there.
- 12:31>> Cameron: I'm sure. Yeah, yeah, it was.
- 12:32>> Skylar: Sure it'll come. Yeah.
- 12:33>> Cameron: So he uploaded it to this YouTube channel
- 12:36known as Soapy Joe. Just as like a.
- 12:39Becausez. That's all he had at the time.
- 12:41>> Skylar: Right, right.
- 12:41>> Cameron: He was so. And then it went like mega viral. He
- 12:44has those subscribers and now he's just kind
- 12:46of. He's a conspiracy vlog type
- 12:49guy.
- 12:50>> Skylar: He's okay.
- 12:50>> Cameron: He likes getting out there and going into the weird.
- 12:53>> Skylar: Yeah. Everybody's just waiting for the next viral video. So tell me a little
- 12:56bit about what he looks like.
- 12:59>> Cameron: He looks like.
- 13:02He looks like a guy that,
- 13:05you know, there's kind of a specific look
- 13:08that comes with guys who are super into conspiracy theories.
- 13:11So he's got like the scraggly kind of beard.
- 13:14He's got, you know, the, the baggy
- 13:16clothes that maybe could stand to be washed. You
- 13:19know, it's got the boots, the big baggy like
- 13:22cargo pants. N. He's got like carts, some car, lots
- 13:25of pockets.
- 13:25>> Skylar: Yeah, yeah.
- 13:26>> Cameron: I mean you got to carry all the microphones, the batteries.
- 13:28>> Skylar: I mean that's why I loved cargo pants back when I was in like high
- 13:31ye.
- 13:32>> Cameron: and he's a, you know, he's like a bigger guy, maybe a
- 13:35little bit of a huskier build, but you know, not,
- 13:38not like huge by anyruct of the
- 13:40imagination.
- 13:41>> Fatty Lumpkins: Fatty lumpkin.
- 13:43>> Cameron: Yeah, not like fatty lumpkin hus me know.
- 13:46>> Skylar: Fantastic. Awesome. So what are.
- 13:49Why is he here at the cam? Why did
- 13:52he choose to take this job?
- 13:53>> Cameron: Well he needed a little extra money because you know only
- 13:5650k subs the on the youtubes doesn't really pay a lot.
- 13:59That's o. Yeah. And he figured you know I could use my camera
- 14:01skills. They needed some videography, some photography for the.
- 14:04For the website of the grass of the campground.
- 14:07>> Skylar: So doesn't hit that point. Like he's getting a little bit of ad revenue
- 14:09but he hasn't hit that point on YouTube where he's got sponsors reaching out to him
- 14:12specifically.
- 14:13>> Cameron: Well, he's got sponsors but they're like. They're like really
- 14:16niche, really small sponsors. Like
- 14:19one you might hear of is a quantum bean. So it.
- 14:22It's like a coffee brand for people who are really the conspiracy
- 14:25theories.
- 14:25>> Cameron: But they're like. They're infused us like adrenaline
- 14:28they're in.
- 14:29>> Skylar: They're like they're put in a bag.
- 14:31>> Cameron: They gott say of 400 hertz. It's like this
- 14:34is calibrated 400 hertz. They're open
- 14:37your third eye. They're like those kinds.
- 14:39They're paying him like a hundred bucks so he could
- 14:42probably stand to guess and I video per video.
- 14:45He can. I mean so he's got my pump out videos.
- 14:48>> Skylar: Yeah.
- 14:48>> Cameron: Yeah. So he's like I'm a. I'm gonn go here and then like.
- 14:51>> Skylar: But you got to make sure it's good content.
- 14:53>> Cameron: Well he's gonna be at a camp.
- 14:55>> Skylar: Yeah.
- 14:55>> Cameron: You could just make up conspiracies about.
- 14:57>> Cameron: The camp that what he plans to do is like sneak out
- 15:00at night and maybe like fil himself just like you know
- 15:03those close up where kind of like mountain monsters that
- 15:06show just.
- 15:06>> Cameron: How yah ever pointed up at him.
- 15:08>> Cameron: Like whoa, whoa, whoa. I think there
- 15:11Sasquatch. Yeah, exactly like that. He just does that
- 15:13five times a week and he just burs out money.
- 15:16So that's basically what he is. He's like one of those bigfoot hunter.
- 15:19>> Cameron: Yeah.
- 15:19>> Skylar: Like so as far as like his kind of
- 15:22personal beliefs that he holds close to or whatever
- 15:25the case. Like what's kind of his
- 15:28focus, what's he willing to fight for.
- 15:31>> Cameron: You know, whatever the case he needs views and clicks
- 15:34and engagement. That's all he's. That's
- 15:37all he's looking at. He's desperate.
- 15:40Maybe's the next big hit because he got that hit of
- 15:42virality and he's like, mmm, I just need that one
- 15:45more time. Yeah, I just need it again, man.
- 15:48>> Skylar: Yeah, absolutely. so what made him sort of
- 15:51take this job?
- 15:53>> Cameron: A need for money with which to buy goods and serv. Okay,
- 15:55so it's pretty just straightfor like.
- 15:57>> Skylar: There'S no other, like, added.
- 15:59>> Cameron: I mean, he gets to use his camera. He gets that the outdoors.
- 16:02He does enjoy the outdoors.
- 16:03>> Skylar: It is a pseudo, unsupervised job. That is kind of
- 16:06nice.
- 16:06>> Fatty Lumpkins: Yeah.
- 16:07>> Skylar: So awesome.
- 16:08>> Cameron: Cool, cool, cool.
- 16:09>> Skylar: All right, well, we'll find out definitely more about
- 16:11soi Joe, once things get started. But I want to
- 16:14make sure that we touch on the last individual.
- 16:17fatty lumpkins.
- 16:18>> Speaker B: Who are you playing?
- 16:20>> Fatty Lumpkins: Yeah, fatty here. And I will be playing greieve
- 16:23Gershwin. Greie gershitz.
- 16:27>> Skylar: That's gonna be a.
- 16:28>> Cameron: Can we just call you gershh
- 16:30Gersc.
- 16:31>> Fatty Lumpkins: I would prefer you call me grieve because, that
- 16:34is more of an honor. Because if there's one thing you should know
- 16:37about gree, it is that my idol is Steve
- 16:39Irwin.
- 16:40>> Skylar: Steve.
- 16:41>> Cameron: Oh, you do an Australian accent.
- 16:43>> Fatty Lumpkins: Yes.
- 16:44>> Cameron: Yeah.
- 16:44>> Skylar: Well, yes, let's see.
- 16:47>> Fatty Lumpkins: But we're hearing it. It is ugly.
- 16:49>> Skylar: He'd started doing that every time he was doing his pharmacy
- 16:52stuff.
- 16:52>> Cameron: Good day, ma.
- 16:53>> Fatty Lumpkins: This is n.
- 16:58>> Skylar: Speed is good day, mate.
- 17:00>> Fatty Lumpkins: This is patatty. How can I help you?
- 17:01>> Cameron: It's a start.
- 17:02>> Skylar: Yeah. Why you sound like that?
- 17:05>> Speaker B: I just want my melatonin.
- 17:08>> Skylar: I don't know why they have't called up. It's a like
- 17:11high GR of melatonin.
- 17:12>> Fatty Lumpkins: Yes.
- 17:13>> Skylar: Okay. awesome. So tell me about what
- 17:15greieve looks like.
- 17:17>> Fatty Lumpkins: Yes. So greieve, because he
- 17:20idolizes the late great Steve
- 17:22Irwin, has fully sold out to
- 17:25dressing and acting like Steve Irwin.
- 17:28>> Cameron: We'renounced.
- 17:28>> Skylar: Sponsored by Steve Irwin.
- 17:31>> Fatty Lumpkins: You, no way affiliated with the animal planet or
- 17:34discovery channel for the.
- 17:35>> Cameron: Or the Irwin channel or the irrwin family trust.
- 17:39>> Fatty Lumpkins: But yes, he sports a
- 17:42two piece gray cat or not
- 17:44gray khaki tan shorts with the button up
- 17:47te. And he look did switch up a
- 17:50little bit going with the bandana. Hey, so
- 17:53that's about the little more d dynasty.
- 17:55>> Skylar: Yeah.
- 17:56>> Fatty Lumpkins: The bandana is the Australian flag versus the
- 17:59American flag.
- 17:59>> Cameron: Yeah.
- 18:00>> Fatty Lumpkins: Yes, yes, yes.
- 18:01>> Skylar: Man, he's all in on this. He's like Josiah with British.
- 18:04>> Cameron: Here's the thing. Is he Australian? No.
- 18:08>> Skylar: Oh, has he, has he done anything in
- 18:10particular that he would be really proud of? Something
- 18:13that he is like, oh, yeah, that was me.
- 18:16>> Cameron: That was my thing.
- 18:17>> Fatty Lumpkins: He is A bit of a pacifist. Like he is
- 18:19strictly into this Steve Irwin
- 18:22spirit.
- 18:23>> Skylar: Oh.
- 18:23>> Fatty Lumpkins: Not too harm the animals, but he just wants to learn and
- 18:26haveure appreciate, interact,
- 18:29collect and release.
- 18:31>> Skylar: Yep.
- 18:31>> Fatty Lumpkins: All these animals. So he's always looking for the next big
- 18:34animal. But to date his favorite find is
- 18:37he did come across the inland
- 18:39taipan on a mission trip. And when he did get to
- 18:42go visit Australia.
- 18:44>> Skylar: Oh, he actually has gone.
- 18:46>> Fatty Lumpkins: He has been his Australia
- 18:48more if.
- 18:49>> Cameron: They'Once and that's his whole identity.
- 18:51>> Skylar: Now I'm more than once he's that. He's that
- 18:54girl, from college that went like, and studied abroad and then
- 18:57she came back and she's like, oh man, I am, I
- 18:59am so read.
- 19:01>> Fatty Lumpkins: Yeah. His cover photo on Facebook,
- 19:04YouTube inst or whatever is him holding inland
- 19:06Taian deadllyt snake in all of Australia.
- 19:10Well, double fisting with the can
- 19:12ofaustus Australian.
- 19:14>> Cameron: Yes. Australia. There you go.
- 19:16>> Skylar: All right. Right on. Okay. So, with that
- 19:19being said, does he have a particular
- 19:22achievement now? Now that he's held to taipan, what
- 19:25is, what is next on his list of things that he wants
- 19:28to accomplish with his, his life and
- 19:30his sort of Steve Irwin esque
- 19:33identity?
- 19:34>> Fatty Lumpkins: So yeah, holding all the snakes and stuff, he, his
- 19:37heart is still near and dear to crocodiles
- 19:40and nice, alligators. So he most
- 19:43recently has heard through the YouTube and the
- 19:46Instagram reels that there'this
- 19:48massive alligator in the depths of North
- 19:51Carolina named Big Al. So he is a
- 19:54bigy alligator. That is his next,
- 19:57his next passion project, Dig.
- 19:59>> Cameron: And even I'heard of Big O. Yep. I'm just
- 20:02a history teacher.
- 20:03>> Skylar: Mm You know, doesn't take much to hear about a big
- 20:06alligator for sure. so tell me, why did he
- 20:09choose to take this job at the summer camp then?
- 20:12>> Fatty Lumpkins: So the reason he is twofold. So
- 20:14he had heard that big owl
- 20:17resides in these lakes, swamps,
- 20:20what have you, bodies of water.
- 20:21>> Skylar: Yes.
- 20:22>> Fatty Lumpkins: But his other thing that you should know about Greie
- 20:25Gershwin is that he is estranged from his
- 20:28family. Because if you know anything about famous
- 20:31jazz composers, you're probably familiar with the name George
- 20:34Gershwin. O who is his great, great
- 20:36grandad. The premier jazz
- 20:39musician may have heard of Rhapsody in
- 20:42Blue as was abord.
- 20:43>> Skylar: So dad actually just went into the public domain
- 20:46I think this year.
- 20:47>> Fatty Lumpkins: So I did recognize the name. That's his family name.
- 20:50And jazz music runs in the family,
- 20:53except it does not run through his veins.
- 20:56So rather than pursue a life
- 20:59and musical excellence, he is dizzy
- 21:01chaseasing snakes and crocodiles and his family does not approve
- 21:04of it.
- 21:05>> Cameron: So he was he good at
- 21:08an instrument?
- 21:09>> Fatty Lumpkins: M. He was about as good as Fatty
- 21:12was in high school. Just he played.
- 21:14>> Skylar: Oh.
- 21:16>> Fatty Lumpkins: M. I like that Fatty's referring to.
- 21:18>> Cameron: Himself in the third person.
- 21:20>> Speaker B: Patty in high school drew very the years of
- 21:23class.
- 21:24>> Fatty Lumpkins: So, yes, since he does not have his family's money nor
- 21:27any music scholarships or
- 21:30concerts to bring in funds, he has
- 21:33to work at this shoddy day camp
- 21:35while looking for big L. Ouch.
- 21:37>> Skylar: Don't tell the owner, Willie, that you
- 21:40think it's a shoddy day camp.
- 21:42>> Cameron: I mean, our job is to make it less shaby.
- 21:44>> Skylar: They actually very tr. So, with
- 21:47all of the players introduced, I'll give you a little bit of a
- 21:50background to how this,
- 21:53will go. firstly, you guys are all going
- 21:56to be, bust over to this island,
- 21:59which is the island of Roanoke, right off
- 22:01sort of the, the edge, the eastern edge of
- 22:04North Carolina. And there, there has been a
- 22:07brand new summer camp that was built by
- 22:10Willie, or Mr. Willie, as he likes
- 22:13to be referred to, calling it obviously Camp
- 22:15Roanokak, as would be logical. And you guys have
- 22:18all been hired to prepare this summer
- 22:21camp for the upcoming season. So we're talking like mid
- 22:24June. You guys are getting moved over there. They're going to
- 22:27have campers this next week. It's
- 22:30a whole summer camp, right? It's got all the necessities. They're going to
- 22:33have boats and kayak section. They're going toa have a swimming
- 22:36area. they're going toa have some fishing. They're going toa have
- 22:39like a beach area that's got all kinds of beach games,
- 22:42all that kind of good stuff, that normally would come with a summer
- 22:45camp. And so you guys are going there the week ahead of
- 22:48time to do the final touches to prepare this camp. Now,
- 22:50obviously this camp was built last year. It's
- 22:53technically brand new. Everything in it is brand new. Or at least,
- 22:56the buildings have been renovated. Maybe they're older, but the buildings
- 22:59have been renovated in such a way u to be used for
- 23:02summer camp activities. But of course it had to be
- 23:04winterized and now needs to be de winterized. You guys are
- 23:07going there to get everything all prepped and set up and everything for the campers so that
- 23:10it's ready to go the second they get there. They don't have to wait.
- 23:13So, that's where we're kind ofn toa kick things off.
- 23:16And you're also going toa be hearing some really interesting
- 23:19historical background, some of which is fictionalized
- 23:22obviously, but a lot of all of it is inspired very
- 23:24heavily by the true happenings, that happened at
- 23:27Roanoke Islands, involving the Lost
- 23:30Colony. So you guys can head right over to the first episode where you can
- 23:33hear the history and then we'll jump into the story. So
- 23:36thank you guys for listening. We'll see you over the episode one
