- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville, Jack Wars fans, welcome in to Duval, Daily Prison of my Gen Jack.com.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Deluga, thanks so much for being here.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: Wednesday, November 19th.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_00]: If you missed the show this morning, yes.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_00]: And back home in the home studio, very excited about that to be quite honest with you.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: Wonderful vacation with family and friends.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_00]: But.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_00]: It's always good to get back and to the flow of things.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: Especially when you love what you do, and I absolutely do love talking Jack's football with y'all.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_00]: So again, really appreciate you being here.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_00]: Right now, we're taking a look at what Liam Cohen had to say at his press conference today, offering some takeaways and analysis.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_00]: I always think that Wednesday is a really good day to do this type of show because Wednesday,
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: is kind of that bridge day between the week prior looking ahead to the week coming up.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: You've had plenty of time to review what happened in the previous game and you're also at a point where you have begun to get ready for the next game for the last couple days.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: So that's why I like to do it on Wednesday and talk to y'all about where Liam Cohen's at.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_00]: So again, that's what we're doing.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all being here.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: Known as to check out jingag.com pick up some new Duval gear.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of good stuff up on the site right now.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: Jingag.com.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: So Jag wars.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: They just beat the chargers.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: If you missed it, if you've been hiding under a rock, yes, the Jack Wars demolished the chargers.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: The Jack Wars unplugged the chargers.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: They shocked the chargers.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever you want to call it, they beat them 35 to six.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: And now what their task with doing is winning again, building some consistency.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_00]: And really, I mean, offensively over the last three weeks.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: Man, they put up some points, haven't they?
- 1:57[SPEAKER_00]: Some of the points against the Texans weren't directly the offense, but I mean as a team putting up some points.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: So it's team that's trying to continue to do that against the Cardinals in the desert week 12.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: Jaguar is trying to get to 7 and 4.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: Currently 7's place in the F.C.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: So they are on the wild card.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: Currently 2nd in the F.C.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: South.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: If the Jaguar's
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: go into this weekend, get it, get it, get it up against teams that they should be, which will preview that game a lot.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_00]: It's not a guaranteed victory by any stretch of the imagination.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: Just ask the Dallas Cowboys a couple of weeks ago.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: But if they go handle business the way they should in the desert, which is a big F, then they've got the Titans.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you're looking at seven and four in the face right there.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_00]: as a fan you can talk about that as a media member you can talk about that as a player you have to focus in a coach one day at a time right but that's where they're at so they're leaving on Saturday to travel wise travel important because
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: deciding when you're going to travel can make a big impact on a lot of different aspects of the operation of the football team.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: So they're traveling Saturday, they're going to do that after they do meetings on Saturday.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: So Liam Cohen said they're only going to have a few things left to do when they actually arrive Saturday and then get ready for the game.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: The game is at four.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: So Jack's playing at four, you know,
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: and it's mountain time, not Pacific time, so it's not this crazy swing and traveling to Arizona isn't the same thing as traveling to San Francisco, but it's still a good little trip out there and what they've done on West Coast trips so far this year is gone out and tried to not really acclimate to the new time zone, try to keep yourself in your same time zone and then that way
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: Now, the one time they didn't do that, they were traveling to the west coast of Europe, traveling east, and they went over to London really early, and
- 4:21[SPEAKER_00]: It didn't work out for them against the Rams for a lot of different reasons, right?
- 4:24[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that this is probably the best way to do it for this football team, for this organization and every organization can do things differently, right?
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: But when they've gone out to the West Coast, when they've traveled West, they've done well so far.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Texans is not West Coast, but Texas is a little bit of a trip.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't finish business out there.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: But the week before that, they traveled to Las Vegas, and they won that football game.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_00]: They played the Rams in London.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: We know how that went.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_00]: The C-Ox was in Jacksonville.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: T-S was in Jacksonville.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: They traveled San Francisco and did a really good job against the San Francisco 49ers.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_00]: They came out and they were prepared for that football game pretty clearly.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: So not a huge sample size on the West Coast, and again Arizona isn't exactly West Coast.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's a similar sort of trip.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_00]: And so that's the plan that they have had so far this year.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: So far this year has worked when traveling out west.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm good with that.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_00]: Now Liam Cohen, he talked about
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: Traimic Bride was asked about Traimic Bride.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, the Jaguars have had their massive share of struggles covering tight ends.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: Brock Bowers comes to mind, but even beyond Brock Bowers, let's look at the Seahawks tight ends, the Rams tight ends.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's Travis Kelsey did some things against them as well.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Ronde Gatston had a big catch down the field.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: They did not like the most productive passing game as we all know.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: The chargers, but covering the tight end has been a struggle for the Jaguars.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: And Liam Cohen talked about, it's a tremendous challenge and trademark bride is versatile.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: And it has a lot of similarities to Brock Flowers.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_00]: They're not the same type of athlete, right?
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: But McBride is an unbelievable player.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: And arguably the most productive tie-dend and football right now, maybe not even arguably.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he's been lights out for the excuse me.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_00]: Cardinals this year, and the guy is score and touchdowns, which that was the one thing he's struggling with earlier in his career was just not being able to find the end zone.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they have figured that out in a big way.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: Traimic ride has seven touchdowns.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: He scored a touchdown in one, two, three, four, five straight games for the Cardinals.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: Dealing with Traimic ride is absolutely going to be one of the keys to the game for the Jaguars and Liam Cohen knows it and he says they're going to have to try to mix up looks a lot, which the Jaguars do mix up looks a lot that hasn't necessarily helped a lot.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: covering these tight ends and try to double at times when you get in the red zone different things like that but that's going to be that's going to be probably the toughest matchup for the Jaguar as he was also asked about you know Josh Sweat who's doing a good job and that's another tough matchup Colleys Campbell as well talked about him being a game record
- 7:33[SPEAKER_00]: They just had their game records meeting this morning where the coaches get together with the team and talk about these are the players that can absolutely destroy the game.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_00]: Kale's Campbell game record on defense and on special teams.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_00]: Jack Span's know all about Kale's Campbell obviously, but he's been one of the most prolific players in terms of being able to block kicks, feel goals, but also as a interior penetrator.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_00]: And Liam, come and talk about it.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_00]: He can swim you.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: and dealing with his length and quickness on the inside, difficult for a lot of interior players.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: If he stalls out, he gets those hands up, he deflects a lot of passes at the line.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_00]: So Kalea's Campbell player that I know Jack Wars fans have won a back in Jacksonville for a long time.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: I've won a back in Jacksonville for a long time.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to be playing against him on Sunday and you just hope the mayor of Saxonville doesn't take it easy.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, he's not going to take it easy, but
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: you know, hopefully he doesn't have one of those Hall of Fame games against the jag wars this weekend.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_00]: Talked about Jacobi Brissette a lot last year and Liam Cohen has kind of an interesting perspective on him because he had to scout basically Jacobi Brissette last year.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_00]: during Tampa Bay's like free agency process, thinking about potentially signing different quarterbacks, bringing in different quarterbacks.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_00]: He did a lot of work on Jacobi, and he thinks Jacobi can really spin it, and he's just professional, you know.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: team oriented guy, and it's just so funny like thinking about Jacobie Brissette's path and you know being at Florida and going from that player that you saw on the field for the Florida Gators who could make some plays and then go to NC State and then have the type of career he's had as one of the better backups and fill in starters and the league over the last several years.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_00]: Jakobu-Berset has been.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: He's doing a pretty good job for the Cardinals.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, Tyler Murray out, the Jaguars are struggling with backup quarterbacks.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to be something the Jaguars really have to try to figure out, attacking that offensive line.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: The Cardinals have been passing the ball a ton since Berset came in.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: Part of that is they don't run the ball very well.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_00]: But Jakobu-Berset, a lot of respect and it'll be interesting, like, does Anthony Campanile
- 9:52[SPEAKER_00]: and Liam Cohen, do they talk more about this quarterback match of the normal because Liam Cohen has such a familiarity with him because of what he was doing last year?
- 10:02[SPEAKER_00]: Kind of an interesting side note.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: Talked about being tested, next man up, it's so true.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: There's been so many guys to step up for this team this year and then the depth being tested this year and really in a lot of ways coming out,
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: and stepping up to the challenge, depth when they have to get on the field.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: Whether that be Danny Sturga would be Jay Green this past week, quit in Morris this past week.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_00]: Johnny Month even having to play a lot more than he was expecting to.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_00]: Austin Tramwell making plays, Tim Jones making plays, Tim Patrick making plays.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: Parker Washington being asked to have a bigger role than he was asked to.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Antonio Johnson obviously playing a lot more
- 10:49[SPEAKER_00]: Buster Brown, they expected him to play a lot, but he immediately got thrust into the line up because of injuries, and then, you know, Christian Brasswell having to be out there.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: Jarring Jones having to be out there.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: The list goes on and on, Colvin Lannon.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that you've ever seen Jaguar's depth do this to go to job, and I think that's the testament of the players, but it's also a testament to the coaching.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I asked him at the end of the press conference, just about the kind of consistency at wide receiver, looking like it's more confident, more consistent the last couple weeks.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: Is there anything to that?
- 11:28[SPEAKER_00]: And he said, yeah, he believed they are building more consistency.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_00]: He definitely agrees with that part.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_00]: probably thinks they have had their confidence, but the consistency is building and the standard and that room is very high.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, you have to tow a fine line in the media.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_00]: You don't want to be too aggressive with your questions, right?
- 11:49[SPEAKER_00]: You want to have a good working relationship with the coach that you're covering.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_00]: with the people that you're covering, and so reading between the lines, if he's talking and agreeing that consistency has been better the last couple of weeks, well, what's been different the last couple of weeks?
- 12:04[SPEAKER_00]: A, you have Jacobi Myers.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_00]: Jacobi Myers, who has been targeted?
- 12:10[SPEAKER_00]: How many times have you been targeted?
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: Over the last two weeks, he has been targeted 10 times.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_00]: He has eight catches.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_00]: And six first downs, I believe.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see here.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I believe you had four first downs this past week and six.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_00]: Here we go.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, he's been targeted nine times, eight catches.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_00]: with six first downs.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_00]: No drops.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_00]: 0% drop rate for Jacobi Myers 100% contestic catch rate.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_00]: Is it always going to be that flat?
- 13:03[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_00]: Is he always going to convert 75% of his targets into first downs?
- 13:12[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_00]: But he's been consistent and he's been consistent throughout his career.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_00]: The other thing is
- 13:21[SPEAKER_00]: You haven't had the two most inconsistent wider severs on the team on the field during this two week stretch.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_00]: Brian Thomas Jr.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_00]: Very inconsistent in a lot of ways this year.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_00]: Drops, you know, believe he's like around 18% drop rate this year.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_00]: That's killer.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_00]: Not running the route with the right timing and pace and intensity.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_00]: that's killer not being able to go over the middle that's killer and then deami brown as well i mean he's only been he's been on the field some but he's only been targeted twice in the last two weeks the two guys that were often leading the jackwars and targets early in the season are no longer doing that in brand-time as junior will get healthy presumably
- 14:19[SPEAKER_00]: get back and have an evaluation period towards the end of the year, but I have no problem with them rolling, moving, you know, obviously no Travis Hunter, but Britain Strange should be back soon.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: Liam Coam wouldn't really comment a lot on the injuries as he usually doesn't.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_00]: We'll get more on the injuries later today when the injury report comes out and we'll talk about the Jaguars and Cardinals injury situation later today.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_00]: We'll also have Club Jaguars tonight at 830 on UCF Jaguars channel.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_00]: Go check it out.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be live.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_00]: Going to be a lot of fun.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_00]: But the point is, if it's Jacobi Parker and Britain strained as your top three target getters, I am good with that with Tim Patrick receiving some targets here.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_00]: Brian Thomas Jr. Diamy.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_00]: You know, the other tight ends and trample, Tim Jones, what, you know, I think the three guys really should be Parker, Jacobi number one, then Parker, those top two receivers, and then Britain.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_00]: Those should be the guys you're trying to throw the football to.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_00]: We'll often the not.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_00]: That's where I'm at.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know how you're feeling about Liam Cohen's press conference feeling about the team heading into week 12.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_00]: Can you believe it's already week 12?
- 15:41[SPEAKER_00]: In the comments section below.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all being here.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe, y'all have a good one.
