- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, guys, here we are our last break of
- 0:02Speaker 1: the day. It's been a good day. It's been a
- 0:04Speaker 1: fun day. You guys, Yeah, thank you to our listener.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Fore I got your uncle.
- 0:13Speaker 2: You know, today is the first day of Black History
- 0:16Speaker 2: and second day, second day for us, second day, my
- 0:20Speaker 2: first day on the radio.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Fourth I'm at that.
- 0:22Speaker 2: But let me ask you, how do you feel the
- 0:24Speaker 2: state of black people are right now?
- 0:26Speaker 1: What we're dealing with, everything that's going on. How do
- 0:28Speaker 1: you assess that?
- 0:29Speaker 2: Listen to me, I think since this Black History Month,
- 0:33Speaker 2: I'd rather take a different approach. What do you mean
- 0:37Speaker 2: I would like to take the approach or how I
- 0:41Speaker 2: felt as being black? Being black has been one of
- 0:50Speaker 2: my proudest things. I have never ever been ashamed of
- 0:59Speaker 2: being being black. I have worn this crown on my behalf,
- 1:06Speaker 2: on my family's behalf, and whether you all believe it
- 1:10Speaker 2: or not, on behalf of those who look up to me,
- 1:14Speaker 2: who respect me, who consider me a role model, who
- 1:19Speaker 2: I inspire, and I have thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed being black.
- 1:30Speaker 2: I love our survival skills. I love our ability to overcome,
- 1:35Speaker 2: to withstand, to deal with, to grapple, and in spite
- 1:41Speaker 2: of all that we've gone through that's been presented as
- 1:45Speaker 2: challenges in front of us.
- 1:48Speaker 1: We steal the ones, man, We steal the ones.
- 1:54Speaker 2: We are the creators of everything that is cool and
- 1:56Speaker 2: the culture and around the world today. We are the
- 2:01Speaker 2: creators of cool in the culture. We make all sports
- 2:10Speaker 2: that we participate in more exciting.
- 2:16Speaker 1: We are.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Some of the most talented people, as a matter of fact,
- 2:23Speaker 2: the most talented people in all of the entertainment.
- 2:28Speaker 1: And ain't nobody topping us. We are the determining factor,
- 2:40Speaker 1: especially our young people.
- 2:42Speaker 2: We are determining factor on what's cool to wear in
- 2:45Speaker 2: terms of dress. We are the determining factors of what's
- 2:49Speaker 2: cool to do with your hair. Everybody emulates what we
- 2:55Speaker 2: do with our hair. Every Black woman that has been
- 3:02Speaker 2: a Black woman, naturally from birth is the reason why
- 3:09Speaker 2: they chased that look so despiny. Black women have thick
- 3:16Speaker 2: lips already, no botox required. Black women are born with
- 3:23Speaker 2: the round bottoms.
- 3:26Speaker 1: They born with it now.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Bb Elsen came famous, but famous why because everybody won't
- 3:33Speaker 2: that look. White women won't the look, Latino women won't
- 3:38Speaker 2: the looks. They had it mostly with us anyway, But
- 3:41Speaker 2: you look at it, right, now man aging women. They
- 3:44Speaker 2: all trying to get that look. They all want plump lips.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Talked about us having.
- 3:50Speaker 1: That for years, but chased it, chased it, had to
- 3:56Speaker 1: have it.
- 3:58Speaker 2: What't happened to you found a way to get it
- 4:00Speaker 2: done too, so we still it.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Music.
- 4:06Speaker 2: I was telling some young people at my camp one year,
- 4:09Speaker 2: I said, do you know that a lot of white
- 4:13Speaker 2: kids have black kids on their wall, Black men on
- 4:17Speaker 2: their wall, black women on their wall.
- 4:20Speaker 1: They got to.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Beyond ss the basketball players, the football players. I ain't saying,
- 4:24Speaker 2: ain't just some cold white ball players out there too,
- 4:26Speaker 2: that's on the walls. But you see white kids putting
- 4:32Speaker 2: black kids on the wall because you.
- 4:35Speaker 1: All don't really know.
- 4:38Speaker 2: How really powerful and important to the culture you are.
- 4:43Speaker 2: You're so important to the culture that they don't want
- 4:46Speaker 2: y'all to be in the culture no more.
- 4:49Speaker 1: You are so.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Important and relevant to our history that they don't want
- 4:53Speaker 2: y'all to know you are important to the history.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Oh and don't you think it's a twofold reason?
- 5:00Speaker 2: It's number one, say don't so they don't have to
- 5:04Speaker 2: be reminded of what all they did to us. That's
- 5:07Speaker 2: the eradicating the civil rights movement getting rid of affirmative action,
- 5:11Speaker 2: getting rid of history and schools, getting rid of plaques
- 5:14Speaker 2: and stuff on walls, getting rid of the mensional slavery,
- 5:17Speaker 2: so they don't have to be reminded. But the big
- 5:21Speaker 2: reason is so you don't know, so you don't know
- 5:26Speaker 2: how powerful you are, so you don't recognize or remember
- 5:32Speaker 2: the contribution you made to the growth and development of
- 5:36Speaker 2: this country. We're some bad people, man, oh man, we it.
- 5:44Speaker 2: I've been so proud of us. Now listen to me.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Are there's some great non blacks? Of course it is.
- 5:54Speaker 2: We work with them all the time, We associate with
- 5:58Speaker 2: them all the time, and we cool with that, and
- 6:04Speaker 2: we require no apologies for that. You know, our vice
- 6:08Speaker 2: president said, we want an America where white people don't
- 6:13Speaker 2: have to apologize for being white, and the whole crowd erupted.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Black people never asked you to apologize for being white.
- 6:22Speaker 1: What we want you to do is get rid of
- 6:24Speaker 1: the bards.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Who keep the active like because they white, that that
- 6:29Speaker 2: enables them to some form of superiority.
- 6:32Speaker 1: And that's what we talk for all. Steve Harvey contests
