Talking about amazing things in our community. 00:00:47:14 - 00:00:49:05 MAK Yeah. Go for it. 00:00:49:06 - 00:01:05:01 Courtney Okay. So, Josiah, he helped someone from the train tracks in Hope sound. And so he was recognized for that, for his bravery, bravery and selfless actions. I can't speak, really. 00:01:05:02 - 00:01:13:15 MAK Just went into action. You know, nobody asked him to do. But he saw somebody in need and and helped out, young lady. Out. 00:01:13:16 - 00:01:15:15 Courtney Yes. So kudos to him. 00:01:15:18 - 00:01:15:25 MAK Yes. 00:01:15:26 - 00:01:22:17 Courtney That was very good. Thank you sir. And then we also had Donald Adamson from Parks and Recreation. 00:01:22:19 - 00:01:23:19 MAK I loved hearing this. 00:01:23:20 - 00:01:27:18 Courtney It was his 40 year retirement, which is amazing. 00:01:27:20 - 00:01:44:29 MAK Yeah, I loved hearing and how they spoke about him, you know, and then how he in turn spoke about his tenure here, but quietly shaping and caring for parks and facilities and recreational areas throughout our community. And it just it was so lovely and touching. 00:01:45:00 - 00:01:50:13 Courtney Yeah. He was like something needed to be done. I would just go and do it and yeah. 00:01:50:15 - 00:01:53:27 MAK Talk about a a lovely man and a work ethic. Yes. Yeah. 00:01:53:28 - 00:02:02:17 Courtney And then we had a special presentation from the Four Club. It was a video produced by them about protecting our land. 00:02:02:19 - 00:02:23:07 MAK Yeah. So they produced the video and they were actually in the video as interviewers or interviewees and, you know, obviously protecting our lands as something near and dear to our heart. And I think that that's going to be running on our, our TV channel. 20 channel. 00:02:23:08 - 00:02:23:23 Courtney Yes. 00:02:23:24 - 00:02:27:26 MAK So check it out. Yeah. It's cool. 00:02:27:29 - 00:02:44:03 Courtney Then it came to Commissioner comments. Yes. And the board directed staff to bring an agenda item forward towards a one year moratorium or pause. Yes, on hyperscale data centers in unincorporated Martin County. 00:02:44:04 - 00:03:03:13 MAK Yeah. So that's something that'll come back to the board. And they also reconsidered an action that had taken place on a at a previous meeting on August 11th. And that was a department quasi judicial hearing, not a hearing, but it was an. 00:03:03:16 - 00:03:05:23 MAK What would you call that? 00:03:05:25 - 00:03:07:23 Courtney I would call. I feel like I would call it a hearing. 00:03:07:24 - 00:03:20:03 MAK Okay. Well, then it was a hearing. You heard it here first. Anyway, they reconsidered that action. And so staff is reaching back out to that that resident about about the issue. 00:03:20:05 - 00:03:46:11 Courtney Awesome. Yeah. And then there were two consent agenda items that were pulled for further discussion. One of them was the local housing assistant plans and Martin County's ship program, which is the state Housing Initiative partnership program. Yes. And so those were pulled. They want to do a new presentation. 00:03:46:12 - 00:04:04:08 MAK Yeah. They wanted to hear more about it instead of just approving on consent. So Michelle Miller, the director, gave a presentation, talked about them. The board ended up approving those, but they also asked her to come back and do some more detailed presentation. Yes. 00:04:04:10 - 00:04:05:26 Courtney And then the next one. 00:04:05:27 - 00:04:31:07 MAK Oh yeah. This was an MOU between the University of Florida Gators. And wait, I didn't hear clapping. No. Okay. Moving on. Between the University of Florida, the Martin County Board of County Commissioners, and that's really for the IFAs program, which is educational programs. They do training, they do workshops. We're always sharing information about those in the show notes and on our social. 00:04:31:08 - 00:04:40:04 MAK So that was just a memorandum of understanding about between the two parties and what that agreement looks like, what the parties are each responsible for. 00:04:40:10 - 00:05:06:10 Courtney Cool. Yeah. And then we also had some appointments made for boards and committees, and that was for the Value Adjustment Board, Industrial Development Authority Board and Hobe Sound Jensen Beach in Rio. Oh my Rio neighborhood advisory board which is our the Naches. Yeah, I can't help, but I do it wrong every time. 00:05:06:10 - 00:05:06:20 MAK You do. 00:05:06:21 - 00:05:07:19 Courtney But it's okay. 00:05:07:20 - 00:05:08:01 MAK It's. 00:05:08:06 - 00:05:09:03 Courtney I'll try to be better. 00:05:09:05 - 00:05:24:25 MAK It's endearing to me. Then we went on to department quasi judicial stuff. The board received and filed a request for an approval of a PUD, and adopted a final site plan for the Martin Commerce Park. Awesome. Yes. 00:05:24:28 - 00:05:41:19 Courtney And then some department items. So the board adopted the library, came and did a presentation on their long range service plan. And it kind of helps guide staff in the operations events services. And so that was adopted for 2027 through 2029. 00:05:41:22 - 00:05:43:06 MAK I love hearing from the library. 00:05:43:07 - 00:05:46:26 Courtney I know they do such great stuff. They really do. A lot of our departments do though. 00:05:46:29 - 00:05:58:27 MAK They do. So we always give special love to library. I know, I'm just saying what else? Board received and filed and oh updated. Parks and recreation permitting for special events. 00:05:58:28 - 00:05:59:15 Courtney Yes. 00:05:59:16 - 00:06:07:27 MAK A guide and also the event request form. Right. So just got a little information about that from Kevin Abate the Parks and Rec director. 00:06:07:29 - 00:06:24:20 Courtney Yes. And then the board also approved ELOC had a new list, which is our environmental land acquisition Oversight Oversight Committee. Thank you. And they approved their list of recommended properties for potential acquisition, which was pretty cool. 00:06:24:22 - 00:06:25:08 MAK It was. 00:06:25:10 - 00:06:25:17 Courtney I thought. 00:06:25:17 - 00:06:43:26 MAK It was a pretty big meeting. We had a lot of public comment about the data centers, and the commissioners were ready to talk. I mean, we're ready to talk about it and wanting to talk about it anyway. So chambers was filled. And I always love that interaction. 00:06:44:02 - 00:06:52:26 Courtney Yeah. Yeah. And so our next board meeting is September 15th. And that also will be the first budget hearing. 00:06:52:27 - 00:07:05:08 MAK Right. So we have other agenda items coming up on that board meeting. But also yes. Yeah. So pay attention. Yeah. Yeah. Oh you can just tune in to us. That's true. We'll give you the scoop on the back end. 00:07:05:10 - 00:07:13:00 Courtney Yes. So yeah, that's all we got.
