- 0:28SPEAKER_01: So I was talking to Morton the other day.
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: I was in K Mage.
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: And he said, I walked in and he said, Welcome.
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: Welcome.

- 0:42SPEAKER_01: I'm O'Brien.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: I'm Doug.
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: And it is episode 230, 230.
- 0:47SPEAKER_08: Try 30.
- 0:50SPEAKER_08: Toe turdy.
- 0:53SPEAKER_08: Toe tardy.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: Too turdy.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: Um.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: What a Super Bowl.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: It was weird, man.
- 1:01SPEAKER_01: It was weird.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: And it was like, you know, probably like maybe a quarter into it, I was like, you know, people always talk about it being rigged.
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: And I I honestly don't think it is rigged.
- 1:18SPEAKER_09: But Well, here's my look, uh it it it looked, it was it was going one of two ways.
- 1:25SPEAKER_09: It was either overcorrection.
- 1:27SPEAKER_09: Which it it seemed like it seemed like really big overcorrection.
- 1:31SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 1:31SPEAKER_09: But what I think it really was is that the Eagles proved that the Emperor wasn't wearing no clothes.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 1:39SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:40SPEAKER_09: Because they hadn't played the Eagles this season.
- 1:42SPEAKER_09: They haven't played the Eagles since 2023.
- 1:44SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 1:45SPEAKER_09: So we hadn't seen, you know, they they had we had they had nothing to go on.
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 1:50SPEAKER_09: And they just freaking wrecked them.
- 1:53SPEAKER_09: Annihilated them for sure.
- 1:54SPEAKER_09: Wrecked.
- 1:55SPEAKER_09: I mean, Mahomes looked like a rookie quarterback out there.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:58SPEAKER_09: I mean, they were all over him.
- 1:59SPEAKER_09: They were like on him like underwear.
- 2:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: I gotta wonder, you know, because there's there's bets placed on this, and and and Kansas City was far the favored uh you know.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: Um so I I don't want to say it's rigged, um, because I'm glad Philadelphia won, to be honest with you.
- 2:22SPEAKER_09: Yeah, but based on that play, I mean, did they have a really bad night?
- 2:28SPEAKER_09: Was Philly just on their game, or should they have not been there?
- 2:31SPEAKER_09: Have they been carried the whole season?
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 2:34SPEAKER_09: Because they did not play well at all.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: I mean, zero.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: Kelsey got like what, four receivers?
- 2:42SPEAKER_09: He had 39 yards.
- 2:43SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 2:44SPEAKER_09: 39 yards.
- 2:45SPEAKER_09: Yep.
- 2:45SPEAKER_09: The whole game.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: And it was, you know, no question the Eagles were on fire.
- 2:52SPEAKER_01: Jalen Hurts deserved the MVP.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: MVP, man.
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: Man, that was that was he played so well.
- 2:57SPEAKER_09: Between him and uh Barkley, man.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: I mean, they were putting up another five.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: Even Barkley didn't get a lot as much as he got during the regular season.
- 3:04SPEAKER_09: Well, no, but I mean, still.
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:07SPEAKER_09: He got more than Kansas or uh the uh Kansas City.
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:11SPEAKER_09: You know what I mean?
- 3:12SPEAKER_09: It was just crazy.
- 3:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:13SPEAKER_01: What a crazy game.
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: It was a crazy game.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: Uh commercials.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: What'd you think of the commercials?
- 3:17SPEAKER_09: I didn't watch any of them.
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:18SPEAKER_09: I was watching online, so I didn't see any of the commercials.
- 3:21SPEAKER_09: They weren't great.
- 3:21SPEAKER_09: I mean, it was that they were weird.
- 3:23SPEAKER_09: There was a lot of weird commercials.
- 3:25SPEAKER_09: I'm sure.
- 3:25SPEAKER_01: You know, just you know, because a lot of people watch for the commercials, and and I don't watch for the commercials, but sometimes I enjoy them.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: There's a lot of weird ones.
- 3:33SPEAKER_01: It was just we watched it and we're like, what the heck was that?
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: You know?
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: So anyway.
- 3:38SPEAKER_09: Well, there's not, you know, they're they're I don't think they make the commercials like they used to.
- 3:43SPEAKER_09: No.
- 3:43SPEAKER_09: I think it's just more like time fillers.
- 3:46SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 3:47SPEAKER_01: $8 million apiece.
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I know.
- 3:49SPEAKER_01: For 30 seconds.
- 3:50SPEAKER_09: Why would you I don't know.
- 3:51SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 3:52SPEAKER_09: You can do a lot more more with, you know, eight million dollars.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: For eight million dollars, I would I would take whatever business I have, the logo, just put it on there for 30 seconds.
- 4:03SPEAKER_09: Buy this.
- 4:05SPEAKER_09: We should have bought a spot.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 4:07SPEAKER_09: Listen to O'Brien and Doug, and that's it.
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: Oh, I'll tell you what, uh, not to get off topic, but um I was informed today that a bunch of my high school kids now follow the podcast.

- 4:26SPEAKER_01: Um, a very, very popular uh teacher at the school was talking about starting a podcast.
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: Um and um so they said Mr.
- 4:36SPEAKER_01: Mosier has one.
- 4:38SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: And I was like, well, he does?
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 4:41SPEAKER_01: So they sent him links to my to our podcast, and uh I don't know if he's gonna reach out and you know find out how to do it or or what, but his podcast would be fun to listen to, no matter what he does.
- 4:59SPEAKER_01: He's like uh he's like a history teacher uh slash you know what?
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: I don't even know what he teaches, to be honest with you.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: History, social studies, maybe.
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: Um but he's one of those guys that he just has is is is dripping with um charisma.
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: What well I was gonna say charisma, but it's not even charisma.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: He's just like a little He's just so fast and Chatterbox?
- 5:29SPEAKER_01: You can't understand a word he's saying because he talks so fast.
- 5:33SPEAKER_01: But he's like full of knowledge and just spits it out and it's just the way he is.
- 5:41SPEAKER_01: His podcast would be kind of fun to listen to.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: Fun to try to listen to.
- 5:46SPEAKER_09: Well, don't you have an option of slowing it down?
- 5:48SPEAKER_09: Yeah, you do.
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: You'd probably have to because you talk so fast.
- 5:53SPEAKER_01: But it's good, it's all good.
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: You know, I'm sure he'd be great.
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: So but yeah, I f I found out that uh, oh yeah, we hope you, you know, and we're your biggest fans, and we're your 39th listener.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: 39th listener?
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: It's about time! Woo! If uh one of them told me today that he followed uh our Instagram page.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: I'm like, oh, we we haven't emptied uh about to say we haven't done anything on that.
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: I've been with that for quite a while.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: He's like, Yeah, I know.
- 6:15SPEAKER_01: I know, yeah, but that's okay.
- 6:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so uh anyway.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: Um Mr.
- 6:20SPEAKER_01: Bragdon wanted me to ask you about the halftime show.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: What'd you think of Kendrick Lamar?
- 6:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: I terrible.
- 6:27SPEAKER_09: It was terrible halftime show.
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: It was boring.
- 6:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, there's nothing to it.
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: And I couldn't understand a word he was saying, for one.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: Does it really matter?
- 6:34SPEAKER_01: No, but you know, it was just and then we start talking just briefly in the hallway about our favorite halftime shows.
- 6:42SPEAKER_01: Do you have a favorite?
- 6:44SPEAKER_01: Well, definitely Michael Jackson or Prince.
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: I was gonna say I have two.
- 6:51SPEAKER_01: Um and Prince is one of them.
- 6:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:54SPEAKER_01: Prince was that was amazing.
- 6:55SPEAKER_09: That was awesome.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: Um, and that was real rain, too.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah?
- 6:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 7:00SPEAKER_01: Uh, but you two, right after 9-11.
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 7:04SPEAKER_01: You know, where they waved the names up there and they had he had the American flag in his jacket and stuff like that.
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: That was cool.
- 7:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:10SPEAKER_01: I mean, that was that was a good halftime show.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: But let's get some and I don't mean to say it like this, but let's get some musical talent in there.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: Not that I would just settle for some talent.
- 7:20SPEAKER_01: Not well, you know, not that they're not musically talented.
- 7:22SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 7:23SPEAKER_01: They're not.
- 7:24SPEAKER_01: I don't I don't know.
- 7:25SPEAKER_08: I don't know about that.
- 7:27SPEAKER_08: Well, but it's just terrible, man.
- 7:29SPEAKER_08: I mean, even the dancing sucked.
- 7:31SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah.
- 7:32SPEAKER_08: I mean, pfft, I could do that.
- 7:34SPEAKER_08: And I can't dance to save my life.
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: We gotta get away from I think we have to get away from now.
- 7:42SPEAKER_09: Last year was cool with like with like Dre and Snoop and Eminem and all.
- 7:46SPEAKER_09: That was a cool one.
- 7:47SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 7:48SPEAKER_09: I actually enjoyed that one.
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: I did too.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: And this one was just awful.
- 7:52SPEAKER_01: But I want like people that are I know, and I know you really can't actually play your instruments really because it's so such a quick setup.
- 8:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean you're in a quick tear down.
- 8:04SPEAKER_01: So and it's and and to get the sound uh set up that quick, I think is probably not feasible.
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: Um but boys, it would be nice to have like a band playing.
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: Like like actually playing.
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: Or something.
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: Or something.
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:18SPEAKER_01: You know?
- 8:18SPEAKER_01: Um Pat was telling me that his favorite was Aerosmith and Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake.
- 8:25SPEAKER_01: That was okay.
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: I like Aerosmith.
- 8:27SPEAKER_01: I don't remember that one.
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: And and the Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake.
- 8:30SPEAKER_01: Well, they came out and they did walk this way with with him, with with uh Aerosmith.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: Um I don't remember.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: So it was it was good.
- 8:37SPEAKER_01: I mean it was it was better than we've had in the past ten years.
- 8:40SPEAKER_09: Oh, well, any anything would be better than what we've had.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: So yeah.
- 8:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:44SPEAKER_01: So anyway.
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: Um but I'm glad the Eagles won.
- 8:47SPEAKER_09: I'm glad uh Well, at least the uh three-peat talk is over.
- 8:51SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 8:51SPEAKER_01: Kansas City got their butt handed to them.
- 8:53SPEAKER_09: Uh oh man, that was just that was just like in fine, in fine fashion.
- 8:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:58SPEAKER_09: Um that uh Eagle player, Cooper Dejean.
- 9:03SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 9:04SPEAKER_09: It's his birthday.
- 9:05SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 9:06SPEAKER_01: There was two of them that had a birthday, wasn't it?
- 9:07SPEAKER_09: I don't know, but I only know he got a pick six on his birthday at the Super Bowl.
- 9:11SPEAKER_09: How awesome is that.
- 9:13SPEAKER_09: I'm sorry.
- 9:13SPEAKER_09: That's a young kid, too.
- 9:14SPEAKER_09: Twenty two, man.
- 9:15SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah.
- 9:15SPEAKER_09: I mean, just he he he's a rookie.
- 9:17SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 9:17SPEAKER_09: And here he is in the Super Bowl.
- 9:19SPEAKER_09: Gets a pick six in the Super Bowl.
- 9:20SPEAKER_09: I mean, that's just like Yep.
- 9:22SPEAKER_09: Yeah, baby.
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 9:24SPEAKER_01: No, it was it was good.
- 9:25SPEAKER_01: We uh we started at my mother-in-law's, it was her uh 80th birthday last week, and so we we had a little uh little get together, cake and ice cream and pizza.
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: Uh not in that order.
- 9:36SPEAKER_01: That goes well.
- 9:37SPEAKER_01: Not in that order.
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: Um and then we watched a little bit of the Super Bowl, and then we came back here.
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: And uh my um son's girlfriend got to see uh another side of him because every time the Which son and which girlfriend Finn and Hannah.
- 9:50SPEAKER_01: So she she she sat on the couch and was was actually you know kind of quiet for Hannah.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: You know, I don't know if she she had had a long weekend anyway with the with the cheering team and she's a cheerleader.
- 10:00SPEAKER_01: She's a cheerleader.
- 10:01SPEAKER_01: I didn't know that.
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: And uh so she's sitting there quietly, and every time the Eagles m made a play, which were there were a lot, yeah, he'd stand up and just scream.
- 10:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you know, yeah.
- 10:12SPEAKER_01: And she'd just look at me like better to see it now.
- 10:18SPEAKER_09: Still has nothing on me.
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 10:20SPEAKER_01: Oh, this is true.
- 10:22SPEAKER_01: He's got a lot to learn.
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: This is true.
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: This is true.
- 10:24SPEAKER_01: This is true.
- 10:25SPEAKER_01: Um so uh what else was it?
- 10:28SPEAKER_01: Oh uh the news about the syndicate.
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: What do you think of that?
- 10:34SPEAKER_09: We made the news?
- 10:35SPEAKER_01: Our n no no, our next gig.
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: Oh not our next gig, but our our the one that we just booked.
- 10:40SPEAKER_09: Oh, the Allstate, yeah.
- 10:43SPEAKER_01: That's pretty cool.
- 10:43SPEAKER_01: It's pretty cool because that's one, you know, that's one thing that um I mean I go to Allstate.
- 10:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 10:50SPEAKER_01: Uh what it what Allstate Music Festival is, is it's a it's a professional development um two or three days for teachers, music educators, but it's also where uh the top musicians, student musicians, high school student musicians from around the state uh gather and they learn music both in the band and in the choir.
- 11:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:17SPEAKER_01: And they put on this uh these amazing concerts, amazing concerts.
- 11:22SPEAKER_01: Um they we music teachers take their kids down there and they're in rehearsals for two days straight, two or three days.
- 11:29SPEAKER_01: And then they put this this uh concert on on Saturday.
- 11:32SPEAKER_01: But for their entertainment, you know, to get break up the monotony, they have these performances.
- 11:38SPEAKER_01: And you know, they've had the National Guard uh band there, they've had um they've had singers uh there.
- 11:45SPEAKER_01: I think they've had comedians in the past, but maybe not, I don't know.
- 11:49SPEAKER_01: Um But sometimes it's really good and sometimes it's just kind of oh this was this was okay.
- 11:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:56SPEAKER_01: You know, and so we got asked to play uh Friday night, which is I thought it was Thursday.
- 12:03SPEAKER_01: Was it Thursday?
- 12:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:04SPEAKER_01: I thought it was Friday.
- 12:06SPEAKER_08: Pretty sure it was Thursday.
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: Well, it may it may be Thursday.
- 12:10SPEAKER_01: Uh I will find out for sure.
- 12:12SPEAKER_01: But it's what's cool about it, one of the things that's cool about it, is um these kids are a great audience.
- 12:23SPEAKER_01: Well, they're musicians, they're musicians, right?
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 12:26SPEAKER_01: They are a great audience, they will support you no matter what whether you mess up.
- 12:31SPEAKER_01: Um but uh it should be a blast.
- 12:40SPEAKER_01: Oh, let's see.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: There it is.
- 12:45SPEAKER_01: You're right, Thursday evening.
- 12:47SPEAKER_01: But it's in the Collins Center, which that's pretty impressive.
- 12:50SPEAKER_01: That's a fantastic.
- 12:52SPEAKER_09: Yeah, that's like an amazing that'll probably be the greatest building we've ever played.
- 12:56SPEAKER_01: Greatest venue we've ever played, guaranteed.
- 12:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:59SPEAKER_01: Uh the the acoustics in that room are unbelievable.
- 13:02SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I can't wait.
- 13:03SPEAKER_09: It's gonna be fun.
- 13:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: So it's gonna be foon.
- 13:05SPEAKER_01: So I'm excited about that.
- 13:07SPEAKER_01: Um I was, you know, I was excited about it because it's it's it's time away.
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: I get to I get to go down by myself.
- 13:14SPEAKER_01: Actually, I won't be by myself, I have to bring a student.
- 13:16SPEAKER_01: But uh just one.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: But he's gonna go and stay on the d in the dorms and I get a hotel room.
- 13:22SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 13:22SPEAKER_01: So, you know, it's just kind of fun to get away for a little bit to of course go to Bull Moose and things like that.
- 13:29SPEAKER_01: No, no.
- 13:30SPEAKER_08: Why would you know that?
- 13:31SPEAKER_08: You silly.
- 13:32SPEAKER_01: But now it's even more fun because I get to play Thursday night, so I'm excited.
- 13:36SPEAKER_01: Uh, which means I have to bring my amp in the uh company car.
- 13:40SPEAKER_09: So it'll be fun.
- 13:41SPEAKER_09: The company car?
- 13:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we have to I have to take a school van down.
- 13:45SPEAKER_09: Well, you called it a company car.
- 13:48SPEAKER_09: Well, I believe Is the school a corporation now?
- 13:50SPEAKER_09: I know they have their own wildcat boss, you know.
- 13:54SPEAKER_01: Which doesn't get used very often.
- 13:55SPEAKER_09: Which is surprising, but not surprising at the same time.
- 13:58SPEAKER_01: Well, every time they try and take it, uh it breaks down.
- 14:00SPEAKER_09: That's what I heard.
- 14:02SPEAKER_09: Uh apparently you got it, you know, from uh Mary Smith.
- 14:06SPEAKER_01: Who Mary um you know the uh uh Rodney's on uh on Main Street, the restaurant?
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: Uh his widow, Mary, she's the one who gave us the money for the not us, gave the town.
- 14:19SPEAKER_01: That used to be remember when we had wasn't it the the the the town bus?
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: Yes, it was a connector bus.
- 14:25SPEAKER_09: Oh yeah, the connector that's what they called it.
- 14:26SPEAKER_01: And uh uh so they had these bus stops that they they uh arranged around around town.
- 14:33SPEAKER_01: Um and they didn't realize that you have to pay for gas.
- 14:37SPEAKER_01: You know, and and so that was not sustainable for the city.
- 14:41SPEAKER_01: So they I don't know if they they must have donated it or I don't know what they did.
- 14:44SPEAKER_09: They were probably like, here, take it.
- 14:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:47SPEAKER_09: Because we can't put gas in it.
- 14:48SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 14:49SPEAKER_09: And only one person a day rides it.
- 14:51SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 14:52SPEAKER_01: So and the school district uh wrapped it, so it looks really nice.
- 14:56SPEAKER_09: I mean, it looks good, but I mean, you know, it's like putting uh pearl on pigs, you know.
- 15:01SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 15:02SPEAKER_01: Well, we t I think they they take it to like local look well, to like across town, you know, uh rivals.
- 15:09SPEAKER_09: Oh sure, yeah.
- 15:10SPEAKER_01: I don't think they take it.
- 15:11SPEAKER_09: Because I don't think Caribou has a special bus.
- 15:13SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 15:14SPEAKER_01: I don't think they take it downstairs anymore.
- 15:15SPEAKER_01: They call it big blue downstairs?
- 15:16SPEAKER_01: I mean downstate.
- 15:18SPEAKER_09: I don't know if you could fit it in here.
- 15:20SPEAKER_01: I think they call it big blue.
- 15:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, big blue.
- 15:23SPEAKER_01: So um, but yeah.
- 15:26SPEAKER_01: So that'll be fun.
- 15:28SPEAKER_01: I I have I get to take a uh caravan.
- 15:32SPEAKER_01: You know, uh a uh Dodge caravan or whatever.
- 15:34SPEAKER_01: Ah speaking of luxury.
- 15:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I know, right?
- 15:38SPEAKER_01: But uh, you know, I pack all my equipment in the back, so it'll be good.
- 15:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it'll be good.
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: Um I went to KmH the other day and picked up some more vinyl.
- 15:48SPEAKER_01: Just because I could.
- 15:49SPEAKER_09: I just got new vinyl too.
- 15:51SPEAKER_01: Did you get?
- 15:51SPEAKER_09: What'd you get?
- 15:52SPEAKER_09: I got the 60th anniversary of John Cole Train's A Love Supreme.
- 15:56SPEAKER_09: Isn't that what I bought you for your birthday?
- 15:59SPEAKER_09: This is the 60th anniversary edition.
- 16:01SPEAKER_09: Oh, what's different?
- 16:02SPEAKER_09: The vinyl is diamond.
- 16:05SPEAKER_09: It's clear, it's clearer, it's like diamond.
- 16:07SPEAKER_09: They call it diamond vinyl.
- 16:09SPEAKER_09: That's cool.
- 16:10SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah.
- 16:10SPEAKER_09: So I have two now.
- 16:12SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 16:13SPEAKER_01: I have um actually, were these here?
- 16:17SPEAKER_01: No, these weren't here when I uh we did the podcast last time.
- 16:21SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 16:22SPEAKER_01: Maybe they were, but I didn't bring them in.
- 16:23SPEAKER_01: Uh no, we never talked about them.
- 16:24SPEAKER_01: No, we didn't talk about them.
- 16:25SPEAKER_09: Okay, so uh see Brian Adams.
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: So this is uh um Brian Adams album that I did not have.
- 16:32SPEAKER_01: I had had this on cassette.
- 16:34SPEAKER_01: Um and this is cuts like a knife.
- 16:37SPEAKER_09: Ah.
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: Um great album, obviously.
- 16:40SPEAKER_01: It looks like the guitar is coming out of his butt.
- 16:42SPEAKER_01: It does a little bit.
- 16:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it does a little bit.
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: This is This definitely cuts like a knife because it feels like a knife going up my butt.
- 16:49SPEAKER_01: 1983.
- 16:49SPEAKER_01: This is the one before Reckless.
- 16:51SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 16:51SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: Um, so this has um this time, everything is alright.
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: Obviously, cuts like a knife.
- 16:59SPEAKER_01: Straight from the heart, which, you know, when I was a kid, I always thought that straight from the heart was Rod Stewart.
- 17:05SPEAKER_09: Straight from the Heart.
- 17:07SPEAKER_09: Well, he does have kind of a Rod Stewarty voice, yeah.
- 17:10SPEAKER_01: Um I think those are the only like big big singles from it.
- 17:15SPEAKER_01: It's a great album, though.
- 17:16SPEAKER_01: So I got that.
- 17:18SPEAKER_01: And of course, I got another journey album that I did not have on final.
- 17:24SPEAKER_01: I'm just taking off these price tags right now.
- 17:26SPEAKER_09: So uh somebody doesn't see how much you bought paid for that?
- 17:30SPEAKER_01: I you know, you can't go wrong at KMH, really.
- 17:33SPEAKER_01: Um but yeah, I'm just taking them off.
- 17:37SPEAKER_01: So this is Journey Journey's Frontiers, uh, which I think is from the same year, actually, is it?
- 17:44SPEAKER_09: Yes, yeah, it's gotta be early 80s.
- 17:47SPEAKER_01: Yep, 1983.
- 17:48SPEAKER_01: Uh Separate Ways, obviously.
- 17:50SPEAKER_01: Uh Send Her My Love, another single.
- 17:53SPEAKER_01: Uh After the Fall was a single, Faithfully.
- 17:56SPEAKER_01: Um, and the whole second side is all album cuts.
- 18:00SPEAKER_01: There was no singles from the second side.
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: But one of my favorite journey albums, actually.
- 18:05SPEAKER_09: Um I think I have that myself on vinyl.
- 18:09SPEAKER_01: This was Vanessa's.
- 18:10SPEAKER_09: Oh, yeah.
- 18:12SPEAKER_01: Sorry, Vanessa.
- 18:14SPEAKER_09: We have it now.
- 18:14SPEAKER_01: We have it now.
- 18:16SPEAKER_01: So uh Saka! And by that I mean we buy it's it's it's what did he call it?
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: Gently loved vintage vinyl or something.
- 18:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, gently loved.
- 18:26SPEAKER_09: Yes.
- 18:26SPEAKER_09: Ooh, synchronicity.
- 18:28SPEAKER_01: Synchronicity from the police.
- 18:29SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: Um, I have a uh a couple of police albums, but I did not have this one.
- 18:35SPEAKER_01: So uh now I do.
- 18:37SPEAKER_01: Nice! Um obviously that's great album.
- 18:41SPEAKER_01: I want to say, what is the year on this one?
- 18:44SPEAKER_01: 83.
- 18:45SPEAKER_01: Is it 83 too?
- 18:46SPEAKER_01: I think I bought all albums from 1983.
- 18:48SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 18:49SPEAKER_09: How weird is that?
- 18:50SPEAKER_09: That is kismet.
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: I know, right?
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: I have an I have one more to share, and I want to say it's from around the same time.
- 18:58SPEAKER_01: Okay, to be honest.
- 19:00SPEAKER_01: Uh so is that synchronicity?
- 19:02SPEAKER_01: And this one.
- 19:04SPEAKER_08: Ah, Rick Springfield.
- 19:06SPEAKER_01: So this Rick Springfield.
- 19:07SPEAKER_01: This was a very discounted one because nobody likes Rick Springfield anymore, apparently.
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: Um but this one is Living in Oz.
- 19:17SPEAKER_01: Uh, great album, which again I had on cassette um years ago.
- 19:23SPEAKER_01: This is from 1983.
- 19:28SPEAKER_01: Well, there you go.
- 19:29SPEAKER_01: How weird is that.
- 19:31SPEAKER_01: Apparently, it's the 83 class of '83.
- 19:35SPEAKER_01: I did not, I did not even plan that.
- 19:37SPEAKER_01: It must have just been calling out to me.
- 19:39SPEAKER_01: Uh, Human Touch is on this, Affair of the Heart.
- 19:43SPEAKER_01: Uh Souls.
- 19:46SPEAKER_01: I think Souls um was a minor minor hit for Rick Springfield.
- 19:49SPEAKER_01: But uh, yeah.
- 19:51SPEAKER_01: Great uh, great album, Living in Oz.
- 19:53SPEAKER_01: Of course, he's from Australia, so that's what he's talking about.
- 19:57SPEAKER_01: Um Tim Pierce, the guitar uh wizard who has his own um YouTube channel and uh does lessons and things like that.
- 20:06SPEAKER_01: He's all over this album and uh uh was a was Rick Springfield's guitar player for quite a long time.
- 20:12SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 20:13SPEAKER_01: So um actually he was the guitar player.
- 20:16SPEAKER_01: I re I've told you that story about the concert that I saw.
- 20:21SPEAKER_01: Well, Rick Springfield is the one that made me want to be a musician.
- 20:23SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 20:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 20:24SPEAKER_09: Yeah, he was the Yeah, yeah.
- 20:26SPEAKER_01: He was a guitar player in that concert.
- 20:27SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 20:27SPEAKER_01: So uh really, really great guitar player.
- 20:30SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 20:30SPEAKER_01: And uh does a lot of great uh lessons on uh online.
- 20:35SPEAKER_01: You should subscribe.
- 20:36SPEAKER_01: Um speaking of new acquisitions, you got the new Dream Theater.
- 20:44SPEAKER_01: I did.
- 20:44SPEAKER_01: What's the name of it again?
- 20:45SPEAKER_01: Parr Parasomnia.
- 20:48SPEAKER_01: Parasomnia.
- 20:49SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 20:49SPEAKER_01: Alright, so give us a review.
- 20:51SPEAKER_01: It's great.
- 20:53unknown: Done.
- 20:54SPEAKER_01: What do you mean, Tony the Tiger?
- 20:57SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 20:58SPEAKER_09: That's my time.
- 20:59SPEAKER_09: No, it's it's a really great album.
- 21:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:01SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 21:01SPEAKER_09: It's very uh I would not recommend listening to it at night.
- 21:05SPEAKER_09: Why?
- 21:06SPEAKER_09: It's a bit creepy.
- 21:07SPEAKER_09: Really?
- 21:08SPEAKER_09: Yeah, well, all that has to deal with uh like nightmares and stuff like that.
- 21:13SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 21:14SPEAKER_09: Like the last song is called the Shadow Man Incident.
- 21:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:17SPEAKER_09: Well, you know you know you know the paranormal uh phenomenon of the Shadow Man.
- 21:22SPEAKER_01: Not really.
- 21:23SPEAKER_09: It was like the Hat Man, uh it's a it's a demonic entity that appears.
- 21:27SPEAKER_09: It's sometimes it's just a black, like blacker than black outline of a man.
- 21:33SPEAKER_09: Sometimes he wears a hat, sometimes he doesn't, uh, just appears.
- 21:37SPEAKER_09: I've never heard of that.
- 21:38SPEAKER_09: Oh yeah, it's very creepy.
- 21:39SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 21:39SPEAKER_09: So so the whole song is very creepy, but it's such a cool song.
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: It's like twelve and I'm gonna ask you, what's the shortest song on the album?
- 21:46SPEAKER_01: Do you know?
- 21:47SPEAKER_09: I think the first song, Into the Arms of Morpheus, and that's like six minutes.
- 21:51SPEAKER_09: You know?
- 21:51SPEAKER_09: I think it's yeah, the whole the whole album.
- 21:53SPEAKER_09: There there's eight songs, and the whole album is an hour and eleven minutes.
- 21:57SPEAKER_09: Wow.
- 21:58SPEAKER_09: If that tells you anything.
- 21:59SPEAKER_09: Wow.
- 21:59SPEAKER_09: So yeah.
- 22:00SPEAKER_09: I think the last song, the Shadow Man incident, is probably the longest one.
- 22:03SPEAKER_09: I think it's like clocks in like 17, 18, 19 minutes.
- 22:07SPEAKER_09: That's crazy.
- 22:07SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 22:08SPEAKER_09: So but it's all all all the songs are great.
- 22:11SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 22:12SPEAKER_09: There's not there's not one that I would skip.
- 22:14SPEAKER_01: Do you have one that's your favorite?
- 22:17SPEAKER_01: Probably can't probably think of the titles at the time.
- 22:19SPEAKER_09: Well, like Midnight Messiah is great.
- 22:21SPEAKER_09: Um is there one that we can listen to that if we can Well, I mean, it's a dream theater song, so it would be half the podcast.
- 22:28SPEAKER_01: Well, no, we don't won't play the whole thing.
- 22:30SPEAKER_09: No, but I mean uh Midnight Messiah is great.
- 22:34SPEAKER_09: Um Deeper Sleep is great.
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: Is Midnight the Midnight Messiah is not the single that we played, is it?
- 22:40SPEAKER_09: No, that was um Oh that cover is creepy.
- 22:44SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah.
- 22:44SPEAKER_09: The whole Well, that's not the cover.
- 22:46SPEAKER_01: That's not?
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: No.
- 22:48SPEAKER_01: Um what is it?
- 22:50SPEAKER_09: T What?
- 22:51unknown: T.
- 22:52SPEAKER_01: If that wasn't the cover, what was it?
- 22:53SPEAKER_09: Well, I don't I don't see it.
- 22:54SPEAKER_09: Because it's got a that's it's it the cover, the cover is uh like a woman in a night dress, and it's she's like in a big room and there's a bed.
- 23:01SPEAKER_09: That's not it.
- 23:02SPEAKER_09: I think that's just the single.
- 23:04SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 23:04SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 23:06SPEAKER_01: That is kind of creepy.
- 23:13SPEAKER_09: Of course, it's a dream theater song, so there's a very long intro.
- 23:17SPEAKER_01: So I should skip it or no.
- 23:20SPEAKER_01: That's why I want a trapped.
- 23:25SPEAKER_09: Oh I wanna I wanna Yeah, you don't wanna you don't wanna skip too much because it really when it kicks in, it kicks in.
- 23:33unknown: I'm gonna trapped.
- 23:39SPEAKER_03: It's gonna go forever.
- 23:40SPEAKER_03: Get out of there.
- 23:55SPEAKER_09: Like that.
- 23:56SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 24:00SPEAKER_01: Does Mike Portnoy write all the words?
- 24:04SPEAKER_09: I don't know.
- 24:04SPEAKER_09: I don't know if he does a Neil Pure thing or not.
- 24:07SPEAKER_01: Because well, at least on this it says uh drums and lyricists.
- 24:10SPEAKER_01: Mike Portnoy.
- 26:13SPEAKER_09: Well, like I said, the whole album is creepy because it it it is it's it's it's basically a concept album of like like the beginning of The Arms of Or Morpheus.
- 26:23SPEAKER_09: It's it's it it comes in like a guy is like coming home from work.
- 26:27SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 26:27SPEAKER_09: Because it's got like a city soundscape going on behind him.
- 26:30SPEAKER_09: He comes in, you can hear him like getting ready for bed and gets into bed, and also the music starts, and then it starts getting that and then it that kind of there's like times where he like wakes up you know in the in the album and you know you could like hear the bed creaking and stuff like that.
- 26:45SPEAKER_01: That's kind of neat though.
- 26:46SPEAKER_09: I mean it is it's a neat album.
- 26:47SPEAKER_09: The whole album is neat, but it it all deals with like different, you know, it's all has to do with like nightmares and you know because parasomnia is has to deal with the abnormal sleep behaviors.
- 26:59SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 26:59SPEAKER_09: So it just makes sense.
- 27:01SPEAKER_01: Uh so I don't know much about dream theater.
- 27:03SPEAKER_01: I just know John Petrucci and Jordan Rudess Rudess.
- 27:07SPEAKER_01: Um and of course Mike Portnoy.
- 27:09SPEAKER_01: I mean I know them as musicians.
- 27:10SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 27:10SPEAKER_01: You know, I follow Jordan Rudess and uh I follow all of them on Instagram.
- 27:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 27:15SPEAKER_01: Um but I don't know much about Dream Theater.
- 27:17SPEAKER_01: I know you had you had told me, you know, what what if I if if uh somebody wanted to get into Dream Theater, what album to start with?
- 27:23SPEAKER_01: You had to we already talked about that.
- 27:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 27:25SPEAKER_01: But James LeBrie was not always their vocalist.
- 27:28SPEAKER_09: No, they've they've had a couple over the years.
- 27:30SPEAKER_01: Do you know any of the other ones?
- 27:31SPEAKER_01: I don't I don't know.
- 27:32SPEAKER_09: I don't really I just like I just like Dream Theater and and Mike Portnoy.
- 27:36SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 27:36SPEAKER_09: And then when Mark Mangini was the uh drummer, yeah.
- 27:40SPEAKER_09: I like those guys.
- 27:40SPEAKER_09: Yeah because they're they're fantastic drummers.
- 27:43SPEAKER_01: Right, right.
- 27:43SPEAKER_09: But uh that's the only reason I really started listening to Dream Theatre is because of those guys.
- 27:47SPEAKER_09: Because I love the drumming.
- 27:49SPEAKER_09: Because it's it it's like it's like rush on crack.
- 27:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 27:51SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 27:52SPEAKER_01: Well I'm listening to James LeBrie's vocals, and if I remember, I I remember hearing a dream theater album from the past, I don't know how long ago.
- 28:00SPEAKER_01: Uh and not the whole album, just a couple songs.
- 28:03SPEAKER_01: But the vocalist was more oper almost like a Jeff Tate.
- 28:08SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 28:09SPEAKER_01: I don't know who that would be who that would be, but it was more operetic sort of or like uh Bruce Dickinson or something like that.
- 28:17SPEAKER_01: This guy's vocals are kind of creepy.
- 28:20SPEAKER_09: Yeah, and I th but I think that goes along with the whole uh concept of the album.
- 28:24SPEAKER_09: Not that I not that it doesn't work, I just you know just kind of But I think this guy is the original uh Dream Theater Vocalist?
- 28:31SPEAKER_09: Really?
- 28:31SPEAKER_01: So he so he came back?
- 28:32SPEAKER_01: I think.
- 28:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 28:33SPEAKER_09: Don't don't quote me on that, but yeah.
- 28:34SPEAKER_01: Well, I'm not gonna look it up.
- 28:36SPEAKER_09: So okay, that's fine.
- 28:37SPEAKER_09: Uh but yeah, it's the whole album is just great.
- 28:39SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 28:39SPEAKER_09: I mean, I li uh the minute I downloaded it, I started listening, I listened to it like three times right straight through.
- 28:45SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 28:45SPEAKER_01: And it was just it was awesome.
- 28:48SPEAKER_01: Cool?
- 28:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 28:49SPEAKER_01: Um what else?
- 28:51SPEAKER_01: Oh, so you were listening to a podcast on the way here.
- 28:53SPEAKER_09: Well, no, I was listening to uh Sirius XM.
- 28:56SPEAKER_09: I was listening to the Real Jazz channel.
- 28:58SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 28:59SPEAKER_09: And uh I was listening, uh I don't know if you know who Christian McBride is.
- 29:04SPEAKER_09: Nope.
- 29:04SPEAKER_09: He's a jazz bassist and band leader.
- 29:06SPEAKER_09: Okay, he's really great.
- 29:07SPEAKER_09: He does this interview show on uh Sirius XM and he was interviewing Quincy Jones.
- 29:13SPEAKER_01: I was like, oh wow, this is interesting.
- 29:15SPEAKER_01: Obviously an older interview.
- 29:16SPEAKER_09: Yeah, it was a definitely an older interview because he was talking Quincy was talking about he was working with Tony Bennett, and I was like, oh yeah, and of course he's he's passed on now.
- 29:26SPEAKER_01: Right, right, right.
- 29:26SPEAKER_09: But he said some really interesting things in it that it really caught my attention.
- 29:30SPEAKER_09: He was talking about, well, he's talking about working with Michael Jackson on the whiz and stuff like that.
- 29:35SPEAKER_09: And then and then he and then he somebody it was like an open forum, like people could ask him questions, and he and they were like, oh, what are you doing now?
- 29:43SPEAKER_09: And he was like, Oh yeah, I'm working with Tony Bennett, and he's also I'm working with Joe Pesci, and I went, Well, Joe Pesci.
- 29:49SPEAKER_09: Well, that's this is what he said.
- 29:51SPEAKER_09: This is his exact words.
- 29:52SPEAKER_09: He says, Joe Pesci is one of the best jazz singers I ever heard.
- 29:56SPEAKER_01: And I went, Well, whoa! I bet you didn't know.
- 30:00SPEAKER_01: Uh I knew this from my my DJ days.
- 30:05SPEAKER_01: Uh let me see if I can find it.
- 30:13SPEAKER_01: Alright, that's what I thought.
- 30:14SPEAKER_01: Let's see.
- 30:15SPEAKER_01: You know this song, actually.
- 30:21SPEAKER_01: This is an oldie from the 60s.
- 30:26SPEAKER_09: And that's all Anna's Moore says.
- 30:28SPEAKER_09: She's not from the 60s.
- 30:31SPEAKER_01: The peppermint twist?
- 30:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 30:32SPEAKER_01: Joey D and the Starlighter.
- 30:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 30:34SPEAKER_01: That's Joe Petch.
- 30:35SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 30:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 30:35SPEAKER_01: Did you know that?
- 30:36SPEAKER_09: I I think I heard that, but that's not Joe Petchy stingy.
- 30:42SPEAKER_09: No.
- 30:43SPEAKER_09: But he's in.
- 30:44SPEAKER_06: There he is.
- 30:47SPEAKER_09: Yeah, you can definitely tell him.
- 30:52SPEAKER_01: Actually, wait, no.
- 30:54SPEAKER_01: That's not Joe Petti.
- 30:56SPEAKER_01: He is in the band though.
- 31:04SPEAKER_09: I think that is him.
- 31:06SPEAKER_09: You think so?
- 31:06SPEAKER_09: I think so.
- 31:09SPEAKER_09: I don't think it's the other guy.
- 31:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't think it's definitely not the tall guy.
- 31:13SPEAKER_01: Uh let's see.
- 31:15SPEAKER_07: It was just the fact that Quincy Jones is.
- 31:22SPEAKER_07: Rock and roll combination.
- 31:23SPEAKER_01: 1956, actually.
- 31:25SPEAKER_06: With two truck drivers, a helper, a color matcher for an ink factory, and an aluminum awning installer.
- 31:34SPEAKER_07: Where have you played your rock and roll music?
- 31:37SPEAKER_00: Local journeys and Catholic youth organizations in it.
- 31:40SPEAKER_00: Catholic youth organizations.
- 31:52SPEAKER_01: Oh, is he playing?
- 31:53SPEAKER_01: I don't I don't know which one uh uh Joe Pesci.
- 31:56SPEAKER_09: Kind of looks like him.
- 31:57SPEAKER_01: You think you think he was singing?
- 31:59SPEAKER_09: I don't know.
- 32:00SPEAKER_09: Well, I mean when quit when Quincy Jones says that you're the greatest drazz singer he's ever heard, that you take notice, man.
- 32:07SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 32:07SPEAKER_09: You know what I mean?
- 32:08SPEAKER_09: Because it's Quincy Jones.
- 32:10SPEAKER_09: He's worked with everybody.
- 32:11SPEAKER_09: I mean, this dude, I mean, I only listened for like half an hour on the way up here, but he dropped so many freaking names.
- 32:18SPEAKER_09: I couldn't keep up.
- 32:19SPEAKER_09: Like he was talking about going to the Vatican with Bono.
- 32:23SPEAKER_09: I'm like, what the f what the You know, he's just like, oh yeah, I mean, Bono went to the Vatican, we had an audience with Pope John Paul, and I'm like, what the f what?
- 32:35SPEAKER_09: And then he said something else which was really interesting.
- 32:37SPEAKER_09: He said that uh somebody asked him about uh synthesizers.
- 32:41SPEAKER_09: I was like, oh no, we didn't have synthesizers back then.
- 32:44SPEAKER_09: And then he said, you know, if you know music, if you don't know music, the you're working for the machine.
- 32:52SPEAKER_09: If you know music, the machine works for you.
- 32:54SPEAKER_09: And I went, Wow.
- 32:56SPEAKER_09: I was like, that's deep.
- 32:57SPEAKER_09: That's cool.
- 32:58SPEAKER_09: He said he he because he said, like, uh, you know, Herbie Hancock, he can make anything work.
- 33:04SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 33:05SPEAKER_09: The machine doesn't work for him, you know, you know.
- 33:07SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 33:07SPEAKER_09: It just he comes out of his finger.
- 33:09SPEAKER_09: It comes out of his finger.
- 33:10SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 33:10SPEAKER_09: If you don't know music, then the machine's doing all the work.
- 33:13SPEAKER_09: But if you know music, you the machine works for you.
- 33:16SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 33:17SPEAKER_09: So I thought I thought that was just like, wow, that is awesome.
- 33:21SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 33:22SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 33:22SPEAKER_09: So it was it was a really interesting interview.
- 33:24SPEAKER_09: He said, you know, he was just it was just very fascinating.
- 33:27SPEAKER_01: You know, most people think of well, most people that aren't kind of in the business think of Quitzy Jones uh in in kind of tandem with Michael Jackson.
- 33:36SPEAKER_01: You know, because that's where he, you know, thriller.
- 33:38SPEAKER_01: You know, he was a producer of the show.
- 33:40SPEAKER_09: Well, he did all he did off the wall, he did all those things.
- 33:42SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 33:42SPEAKER_01: But people don't think about that, you know.
- 33:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 33:45SPEAKER_01: Um he did so much more.
- 33:46SPEAKER_01: He wrote the soundtrack to Roots.
- 33:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 33:49SPEAKER_01: You know, I mean he's a composer.
- 33:50SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 33:51SPEAKER_01: Well, I should say was a composer.
- 33:52SPEAKER_09: I mean, I mean he he Oh yeah, he knows music inside an out.
- 33:55SPEAKER_09: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 33:56SPEAKER_09: I mean he was talking about different, you know, you know, oh yeah, you're gonna do this, and I'm like, wow.
- 34:00SPEAKER_09: I mean, this dude I mean this dude forgot more about music than most people know.
- 34:05SPEAKER_09: Yeah you know what I mean?
- 34:06SPEAKER_09: Yeah so it it was just a really fascinating uh interview.
- 34:09SPEAKER_01: That's cool.
- 34:09SPEAKER_01: So um so what I've noticed, I was looking for something in uh Ultimate Classic Rock uh to talk about.
- 34:18SPEAKER_01: But what I the only thing that I really noticed, there's nothing really big to talk about.
- 34:23SPEAKER_01: Um but uh I forgot the name of the uh thing we use for mixtape.
- 34:33SPEAKER_01: Oh, oh no, I know I didn't.
- 34:34SPEAKER_01: I got it.
- 34:35SPEAKER_01: Um the only the one the one takeaway I have from looking at um Ultimate Classic Rock is it's soon to be the end of an era.
- 34:51SPEAKER_09: Oh, that was the other thing he said, uh Quincy Jones said.
- 34:54SPEAKER_09: He said in this interview, uh in this interview, he was like, We're ten months, ten months to a year away from the total collapse of the record industry.
- 35:03SPEAKER_01: Oh wow, and how old how old was this industry?
- 35:05SPEAKER_09: I have no idea.
- 35:06SPEAKER_09: That's that I'd have no idea.
- 35:07SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 35:07SPEAKER_09: It's gotta be he's not wrong.
- 35:09SPEAKER_09: Yeah, he wasn't wrong.
- 35:10SPEAKER_09: He wasn't wrong at all.
- 35:11SPEAKER_09: The way he was talking about, he was just like, you know, people, you know, somebody was like, Yeah, well, you know, i the internet is getting music to everybody.
- 35:20SPEAKER_09: He's like, Yeah, but they're not paying for it.
- 35:22SPEAKER_09: You know, these bass players, producers, engineers, they got kids to feed, they gotta send them to school.
- 35:27SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 35:27SPEAKER_09: If they're not getting, you know, people they're not getting paid.
- 35:30SPEAKER_01: People don't care.
- 35:31SPEAKER_09: Yeah, and that's exactly what he said.
- 35:33SPEAKER_09: He said, people don't care about them.
- 35:34SPEAKER_09: No, they don't.
- 35:35SPEAKER_09: They just want free music.
- 35:36SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 35:36SPEAKER_09: And I was like, preach, Quincy.
- 35:39SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 35:39SPEAKER_09: You know?
- 35:40SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah.
- 35:40SPEAKER_09: That was like awesome, man.
- 35:41SPEAKER_01: You know, be people just want what they want and they'll they'll take it if they can get it.
- 35:44SPEAKER_09: Yeah, you know.
- 35:45SPEAKER_09: And that's exactly what he was saying, right?
- 35:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 35:47SPEAKER_09: He said the internet is great, but people are stealing music left and right.
- 35:50SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 35:51SPEAKER_09: And people that are making the music are getting paid for it.
- 35:54SPEAKER_01: No, when I say it's uh soon to be the end of an era, all of these heritage artists are announcing tours.
- 36:04SPEAKER_01: Um I mean, it's great that they're still doing it.
- 36:07SPEAKER_01: Peter Frampton's going on tour.
- 36:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 36:09SPEAKER_01: He's just about dead.
- 36:13SPEAKER_01: Uh and I don't mean that in a in a nasty way.
- 36:16SPEAKER_01: He's he's got health problems.
- 36:18SPEAKER_01: He's suffering, he suffers from a bunch of different things.
- 36:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 36:20SPEAKER_01: Uh Paul McCartney.
- 36:22SPEAKER_09: It's sad that he has to keep touring.
- 36:23SPEAKER_09: Exactly.
- 36:24SPEAKER_09: Because he has to, yes.
- 36:25SPEAKER_09: He's gotta make money.
- 36:26SPEAKER_09: He can't make anyone in any other way in the music industry anymore.
- 36:29SPEAKER_01: Uh Paul McCartney is is still going, but you know, that's Yeah, but he's a robot.
- 36:34SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 36:34SPEAKER_01: He was just at the Super Bowl.
- 36:35SPEAKER_01: And I mean he's he's 80, what, 82, 83?
- 36:38SPEAKER_09: And just he's gotta be 82.
- 36:40SPEAKER_01: He's he's uh just just still killing it every time.
- 36:43SPEAKER_01: Pat Benatar and Neils Geraldo are announcing a new tour.
- 36:46SPEAKER_01: And they're still married, man.
- 36:47SPEAKER_01: That's wonderful.
- 36:48SPEAKER_01: It's amazing.
- 36:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 36:49SPEAKER_01: Patty Smith announces a 50th anniversary tour of horses.

- 37:01SPEAKER_09: Oh yeah.
- 37:01SPEAKER_01: Is she still playing with him?
- 37:02SPEAKER_01: Because uh this current tour that she did not play with him because there was like um she had an obligation to something else.
- 37:09SPEAKER_09: Well, I think something with her uh Orionthe was playing for Yeah, she was doing something with her with her solo uh solo career.
- 37:16SPEAKER_01: So uh Doobie Brothers.

- 39:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 39:03SPEAKER_01: So um they are re Oh, so it's definitely they are reuniting.

- 39:47SPEAKER_01: I you know, the people are just they're in and I've skipped I skipped all the all the people that have died because there's a bunch of articles of of legendary musicians, maybe not like the the name that you know in the band, yeah.
- 40:00SPEAKER_01: But like the keyboard player who obviously contributed to the music, but they passed away.
- 40:06SPEAKER_08: Well there's these people are in their sixties, seventies, eighties?
- 40:09SPEAKER_01: Right, yeah.
- 40:10SPEAKER_01: David Johansson, um uh who is Buster Poindexter.
- 40:14SPEAKER_01: Right.

- 40:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 40:19SPEAKER_01: Um but it's just it's you know that that phrase, end of an era.
- 40:24SPEAKER_01: You know, once these guys are gone, once we lose McCartney and Clapton and you know, all these guys that we worshipped uh when you know, as we grew up.
- 40:35SPEAKER_09: Well, I'm just gonna stop listening to music.
- 40:38SPEAKER_01: No, you're not.
- 40:39SPEAKER_01: No.

- 40:46SPEAKER_01: That's true, neither do I.
- 40:48SPEAKER_09: So, I mean it's not gonna change it's not gonna change my listening habits because I'm gonna listen to the same things I've been listening to.
- 40:53SPEAKER_01: I'm still listening to Van Halen.
- 40:54SPEAKER_09: Yeah, Van Halen, I'm listening to Metallica, you know.
- 40:57SPEAKER_01: I'm still listening to Clapton.
- 40:59SPEAKER_09: Rush, you know, I'm listening to all the, you know, the guys that aren't doing anything anymore.
- 41:02SPEAKER_09: Uh that's all I'm listening to now.
- 41:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 41:03SPEAKER_09: I'm not I'm not I'm not searching out new music.
- 41:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 41:06SPEAKER_09: Or nude artists.
- 41:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 41:08SPEAKER_01: I mean, I kind of am, but well speaking of that, have you listened to Mineral King?
- 41:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, well I showed I showed it to you.
- 41:15SPEAKER_01: We listened to it on the There's a band that's on that I found on Instagram um that I think is pretty cool.
- 41:22SPEAKER_01: Uh and I don't think you got a great I didn't think I gave you a great taste of of their stuff.
- 41:27SPEAKER_01: Because we were driving back from a gig last week and I said, Oh, I was tired and uh you need to listen to this.
- 41:34SPEAKER_01: So I put on a couple songs and and I don't know their music well enough uh to pick out a good one uh yet.
- 41:42SPEAKER_01: Uh but Mineral King is a band that I found on Instagram.
- 41:46SPEAKER_01: Um and I think they're from California or Colorado or something like that.
- 41:51SPEAKER_01: I think they're from California.
- 41:53SPEAKER_01: Uh but uh kind of a bunch of dorky guys that make very prog rock slash pop music with big harmonies, but it's r it's mixed and played really, really well.
- 42:08SPEAKER_01: Uh I'm not gonna play any right now, but i i if you get a chance, go look up Mineral King.
- 42:13SPEAKER_01: Uh I don't think you'll be disappointed if you like that kind of music.
- 42:16SPEAKER_01: It's it's good stuff.
- 42:17SPEAKER_01: And I'm gonna I don't know, I might pick pick up some of their music and and know some of the songs so I can say, oh yeah, listen to this song.
- 42:26SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 42:26SPEAKER_01: You know, uh, because I haven't had a chance.
- 42:28SPEAKER_01: Because we consume music in such a different way these days.
- 42:31SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 42:32SPEAKER_01: You know, it's so sad.
- 42:33SPEAKER_09: Well it's not like you're gonna hear it on the radio or exactly.
- 42:35SPEAKER_09: You're not.
- 42:36SPEAKER_01: You're not.
- 42:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 42:38SPEAKER_01: So uh let's do well, you know, let's do this.
- 42:44SPEAKER_09: Is it time already?
- 42:46SPEAKER_09: I think so.
- 42:48SPEAKER_09: I hear the music.
- 42:52SPEAKER_09: Oh, oh, oh, oh, it's coming.
- 42:55SPEAKER_09: It's coming.
- 42:57SPEAKER_09: Get ready.
- 43:17SPEAKER_01: Alright, so we messed up last week.
- 43:18SPEAKER_01: No, that not the last week, the week before.
- 43:20SPEAKER_01: Week before, yeah.
- 43:21SPEAKER_01: So we have a we have a uh past.
- 43:26SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 43:26SPEAKER_01: No, no, we have a present.
- 43:28SPEAKER_01: We have a present.
- 43:29SPEAKER_01: And we're gonna have a future.
- 43:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 43:31SPEAKER_01: Today.
- 43:31SPEAKER_01: We have no past.
- 43:32SPEAKER_01: We have no right, because yeah.
- 43:34SPEAKER_01: I'm confused.
- 43:36SPEAKER_09: Well, it was very confusing here for a while.
- 43:38SPEAKER_09: That's what happens when you leave out a crucial part of the game.
- 43:42SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 43:42SPEAKER_01: So we're eating it.
- 43:43SPEAKER_01: We're trying to get back on track.
- 43:45SPEAKER_01: So we have a question.
- 43:47SPEAKER_01: Did we answer a question last week?
- 43:49SPEAKER_01: We didn't.
- 43:50SPEAKER_01: Well, we're answering it right now.
- 43:51SPEAKER_01: We're answering it right now.
- 43:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 43:52SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 43:53SPEAKER_01: That's right.
- 43:53SPEAKER_01: We asked it last week.
- 43:55SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 43:55SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 43:56SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 43:57SPEAKER_09: So So the question for this week.
- 44:00SPEAKER_09: You only get one make out song for the rest of your life.
- 44:04SPEAKER_09: What it I was gross.
- 44:06SPEAKER_09: I know.
- 44:07SPEAKER_09: What is it?
- 44:09SPEAKER_09: Alright, so.
- 44:10SPEAKER_09: Have you heard from Larry?
- 44:11SPEAKER_09: Yes, I have.
- 44:12SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 44:12SPEAKER_09: Cousin Larry has weighed.
- 44:16SPEAKER_09: Excuse me.
- 44:19SPEAKER_09: Alrighty.
- 44:22SPEAKER_09: Okay, so.
- 44:25SPEAKER_09: I think he's busy because he didn't he hadn't gotten back to me yet.
- 44:28SPEAKER_09: So he was uh so it was very short.
- 44:31SPEAKER_09: Gotta go with Marvin Gaye, sexual healing.
- 44:34SPEAKER_09: Oh, wow.
- 44:36SPEAKER_09: So that was cousin Larry's pick.
- 44:39SPEAKER_01: Alright, let's get uh let's get a little bit of uh Marvin Gar.
- 44:44SPEAKER_09: That's not Marvin Gaye.
- 44:46SPEAKER_09: That is not Marvin Gay.
- 44:47SPEAKER_09: I've seen Marvin Gaye.
- 44:48SPEAKER_09: That's not Marvin Gay.
- 44:50SPEAKER_09: You're not Marvin Gay.
- 44:51SPEAKER_09: Oh, that is Marvin Gaye.
- 44:56unknown: Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up.
- 45:02SPEAKER_01: Jeez, I don't know how you beat this.
- 45:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 45:09SPEAKER_01: I thought of mine tonight as you walked in, and um, it's not gonna beat this one, that's for sure.
- 45:16SPEAKER_09: The only other one I think that could beat this one would be the the other Marvin Gay song.
- 45:22SPEAKER_08: I can't hold it button longer.
- 45:26SPEAKER_01: Oh, let's get it on.
- 45:27SPEAKER_01: Let's get it on.
- 45:27SPEAKER_01: Let's get it on.
- 45:28SPEAKER_01: I don't get that in it.
- 45:33SPEAKER_01: Oh man, come on.
- 45:36SPEAKER_09: Cousin Larry chose well, man.
- 45:38SPEAKER_01: Really any Marvin Gay song.
- 45:40SPEAKER_09: Yeah, really.
- 45:42SPEAKER_01: Oh, that song.
- 45:42SPEAKER_01: Hold on.
- 45:43SPEAKER_01: Not to distract.
- 45:45SPEAKER_01: But you're gonna.
- 45:48SPEAKER_01: You said you mentioned let's get it on, but what about what about this one from Marvin Gay from 1976?
- 45:56SPEAKER_01: Song called I Want You.
- 46:00SPEAKER_09: Well, we're we're obviously leaving out the king of makeout music, Barry White.
- 46:05SPEAKER_01: This is true.
- 46:05SPEAKER_01: So anyway, that's not his choice.
- 46:09SPEAKER_01: His choice, Larry's choice was sexual healing.
- 46:11SPEAKER_01: Sexual healing.
- 46:12SPEAKER_01: This one popped in my head, but this isn't my choice either.
- 46:14SPEAKER_01: What's your choice, Doug?
- 46:15SPEAKER_09: Well, my choice is I I went jazzy again.
- 46:17SPEAKER_09: Okay, it's a song called In a Sentimental Mood by John Coltrane and Duke Ellington.

- 47:11SPEAKER_09: That's what the song's for, man.
- 47:14SPEAKER_09: Just saying.

- 47:25SPEAKER_01: Alright.
- 47:26SPEAKER_01: In a sentimental mood.
- 47:28SPEAKER_01: Duke Ellington and John Coltrane.
- 47:30SPEAKER_01: I like that.
- 47:31SPEAKER_01: Great, great song.
- 47:32SPEAKER_01: I still think sexual healing is the winner too.
- 47:34SPEAKER_01: Oh, I I totally agree.
- 47:35SPEAKER_09: Because uh I but I I gotta I gotta hear what you chose.
- 47:40SPEAKER_09: Kenny G.
- 47:42SPEAKER_09: Really.
- 47:47SPEAKER_09: There's only one problem with this.
- 47:48SPEAKER_09: Kenny G has never made out with anyone.
- 47:59SPEAKER_09: This is uh um um What is the name of the song?
- 48:03SPEAKER_09: Some bird?
- 48:03SPEAKER_09: Silhouette.
- 48:04SPEAKER_09: Silhouette, okay.
- 48:05SPEAKER_09: I was way off end.
- 48:07SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, I know what you're thinking though.
- 48:09SPEAKER_09: Uh Songbird.
- 48:14SPEAKER_09: Songbird, that's what I'm thinking of, yeah.
- 48:16SPEAKER_01: Maybe I should have chosen that one, but hold on.

- 48:29SPEAKER_01: Maybe this is the one I was thinking of.
- 48:31SPEAKER_01: Maybe.
- 48:34SPEAKER_01: Can I switch?
- 48:36SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna move it.
- 48:38SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna go with this one.
- 48:38SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 48:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 48:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 48:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 48:42SPEAKER_09: This is the one I would have chosen if I was gonna choose Jenny Kenny G.
- 48:45SPEAKER_01: This is the one that I was thinking of.
- 48:47SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 48:47SPEAKER_01: And I thought it was on the silhouette album, so I just typed in Kenny G's silhouette.

- 55:09SPEAKER_09: Dig It.
- 55:10SPEAKER_09: Dig It.
- 55:11SPEAKER_09: You dig it.
- 55:11SPEAKER_02: I'll dig it.
- 55:13SPEAKER_09: Credited to all four Beatles, Dig It started as a fledgling song by John called Can You Dig It?
- 55:20SPEAKER_09: Which consisted of variations of the title being sung over a riff.
- 55:24SPEAKER_09: The version released on Let It Be was an excerpt from a much longer jam in which all the Beatles made uplines on the spot.
- 55:32SPEAKER_09: Hence the shared composer credit.
- 55:34SPEAKER_09: There was a lot of time spent hanging around reading reading newspapers when they recorded, which might account for the reference references to the FBI and CIA.
- 55:48SPEAKER_09: Oh, hold on.
- 55:56SPEAKER_09: Transcripts of studio conversations reveal George talking about blues guitar's B.B.
- 56:00SPEAKER_09: King and distinguishing him from fellows blues fellow blues man Freddie King.
- 56:05SPEAKER_09: Matt Busby was the heroic manager of Manchester United, one of England's most successful soccer teams.
- 56:13SPEAKER_09: That's it.
- 56:14SPEAKER_09: That's it?
- 56:14SPEAKER_09: That's it.
- 56:31SPEAKER_01: Sometimes I think I smoke too much dope.
- 56:36SPEAKER_01: This is this is just like let's record.
- 56:40SPEAKER_09: What are we gonna we're I don't know, let's just play these three chords.
- 56:43SPEAKER_09: Yeah, basically, that's all it is.
- 56:44SPEAKER_09: Making stuff up.
- 56:50SPEAKER_09: Matt Busby right there.
- 56:52SPEAKER_02: Dig it.
- 56:53SPEAKER_02: Dig it.
- 56:54SPEAKER_02: Dig it.
- 56:57SPEAKER_01: Well there you go.
- 56:58SPEAKER_01: Dig it.
- 56:58SPEAKER_01: I dig it.
- 57:00SPEAKER_01: I pretty much dig anything the Beatles do.
- 57:02SPEAKER_01: Just about.
- 57:03SPEAKER_09: Except hello, goodbye.
- 57:05SPEAKER_09: No, I dig that.
- 57:06SPEAKER_09: Well, you do, I don't.
- 57:06SPEAKER_09: I know you don't.
- 57:07SPEAKER_09: I just don't like it.
- 57:09SPEAKER_01: Alright.
- 57:10SPEAKER_01: I don't like it.
- 57:10SPEAKER_01: It is time.
- 57:12SPEAKER_01: I have an album.
- 57:15SPEAKER_01: Uh so.
- 57:17SPEAKER_01: Let the guessing begin.
- 57:19SPEAKER_01: Is it a band?
- 57:22SPEAKER_01: Technically.
- 1:00:17SPEAKER_01: Kenny Wayne Shepard.
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_01: Kenny Wayne Shepherd.
- 1:00:20SPEAKER_01: Yes, this is an album from the Kenny Wayne Shepherd band.
- 1:00:25SPEAKER_01: I don't know if we've done this or not.
- 1:00:27SPEAKER_01: Uh How I Go.
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_01: Have we done this?
- 1:00:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah, me, man.
- 1:00:32SPEAKER_01: Well, we're gonna find out how I go.
- 1:00:35SPEAKER_01: Uh this album rock.
- 1:00:39SPEAKER_01: Um.
- 1:00:41SPEAKER_01: I'll just play a couple tracks from it.
- 1:00:44SPEAKER_01: Uh one one thing I like about Kenny Wayne Shepherd, I like a lot about Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and yes, he is married to Mel Gibson's daughter.
- 1:00:50SPEAKER_09: Well, I didn't know that.
- 1:00:51SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:00:52SPEAKER_01: Um, is he's been doing a lot because when he f when he first came out in his teenage years in the 90s, he didn't sing.
- 1:01:02SPEAKER_01: He had another guy singing, and he played guitar.
- 1:01:05SPEAKER_09: Oh, that's right, I forgot about that.
- 1:01:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:01:08SPEAKER_01: And then he put out kind of a alternative album, uh, n not as bluesy, and he sang on it and people didn't like it.
- 1:01:17SPEAKER_01: So he got gun shy about singing.
- 1:01:20SPEAKER_01: So he hired Noah Hunt uh uh again, um, and Noah Hunt became the lead singer of the band.
- 1:01:27SPEAKER_01: But in in probably the last 15 years, 20 years, all the stuff that he's put out, he's had at least half the album uh has been him singing.
- 1:01:39SPEAKER_01: And it's pretty pretty darn good.
- 1:01:42SPEAKER_01: Um this one, uh, however, is This is only the second time we've done Kenny Wayne Shepard.
- 1:01:47SPEAKER_01: I hope it's not this album, but that's okay if it is.
- 1:01:50SPEAKER_01: Um This one is Noah Hunt.
- 1:01:52SPEAKER_01: This one's from 2011.
- 1:01:54SPEAKER_01: This is Never Looking Back.
- 1:03:04SPEAKER_01: Uh, this is another great song.
- 1:03:06SPEAKER_01: Come on over.
- 1:03:09SPEAKER_01: This one I believe is Kenny's thing.
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_01: I could be wrong though.
- 1:03:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I am wrong.
- 1:03:31SPEAKER_01: Uh I do want to play this uh 'cause they're speaking of the Beatles.
- 1:03:44SPEAKER_01: The white owl, right?
- 1:03:46SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:04:09SPEAKER_01: Alright, so that's all Noah Hunt on vocals.
- 1:04:17SPEAKER_01: Can't remember if this is Noah or Kenny Wade.
- 1:04:27SPEAKER_01: Noah Hunt.
- 1:04:31SPEAKER_01: That's what it's called Show Me the Way Back Home.
- 1:04:49SPEAKER_01: I was like, what a cool I mean this is so much you know, Noah Hunt is kind of a so much a part of this band.
- 1:05:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah that's what he's on the cover with Kenny Wayne Shepherd.
- 1:05:05SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 1:05:05SPEAKER_01: The back cover.
- 1:05:14SPEAKER_01: Alright, I'm not gonna get this one is this is Kenny Wayne singing.
- 1:05:18SPEAKER_01: This is a great song.
- 1:05:19SPEAKER_01: It's called Cold.
- 1:05:22SPEAKER_01: Which it has been lately.
- 1:05:24SPEAKER_09: Oh yeah.
- 1:05:27SPEAKER_06: It's cold enough in here.
- 1:05:30SPEAKER_09: Okay, not th not where I thought it was gonna go.
- 1:05:32SPEAKER_09: After that intro.
- 1:05:33SPEAKER_05: If I was bringing.
- 1:05:36SPEAKER_05: If I was bringing it.
- 1:05:38SPEAKER_05: I really love this song.
- 1:05:40SPEAKER_06: It's like a frozen steel.
- 1:05:43SPEAKER_06: It's some kind of dream.
- 1:05:46SPEAKER_06: Watchin' you leave it.
- 1:06:26SPEAKER_01: So he's been singing a lot more lately, which I think is great, because that's that's a great song.
- 1:06:30SPEAKER_01: And the So the last one I'm gonna play for you is another one that he sings.
- 1:06:34SPEAKER_01: Uh and it's a ballad.
- 1:06:35SPEAKER_01: Uh it's called Who's Gonna Catch You Now?
- 1:06:38SPEAKER_05: Every time you fell, I was there to catch you.
- 1:06:48SPEAKER_05: Every time you call, I picked up the phone.
- 1:06:58SPEAKER_06: I threw you the lifeline.
- 1:07:02SPEAKER_06: Every time you started thinking Are you ready to do it alone?
- 1:07:11SPEAKER_04: Who's gonna go out and find you when you're lost down and die?
- 1:07:21SPEAKER_04: Who's gonna be the voice that tells you?
- 1:07:28SPEAKER_04: Everything's all night.
- 1:07:31SPEAKER_04: Who's gonna be the white?
- 1:07:35SPEAKER_01: Great harmony then.
- 1:07:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:07:41SPEAKER_04: Tell me who.
- 1:07:45SPEAKER_04: Who's gonna catch you now?
- 1:07:51SPEAKER_01: See, I just think it's a great album.
- 1:07:53SPEAKER_01: The album is called How I Go.
- 1:07:55SPEAKER_01: Uh, and it's from 2000, what did I say?
- 1:07:58SPEAKER_01: 2011.
- 1:07:59SPEAKER_01: 2011, yes.
- 1:08:01SPEAKER_01: Uh the Kenny Wayne Shepherd band.
- 1:08:04SPEAKER_01: Um just great stuff.
- 1:08:07SPEAKER_01: Uh I think I've said I've talked about this before, but I won a big Kenny Wayne Shepherd uh contest.
- 1:08:11SPEAKER_09: You want him as good one of his guitars.
- 1:08:14SPEAKER_01: I won a Kenny Wayne Shepherd guitar, which I and then you sold it.
- 1:08:17SPEAKER_01: I sold it.
- 1:08:18SPEAKER_01: Like a dummy.
- 1:08:19SPEAKER_01: Because I am stupid.
- 1:08:20SPEAKER_01: Big dummy dummy head.
- 1:08:22SPEAKER_01: But I still use I so the package included uh the guitar.
