- 0:00Speaker 1: And now Move the Sticks with Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks.
- 0:07Speaker 2: What's up, everybody. Welcome to Move the Sticks a little
- 0:10Speaker 2: midweek edition here, DJ, Bucky and Rhett boys. We've we've
- 0:15Speaker 2: got some some rookie draft business to take care of today.
- 0:18Speaker 1: I felt pretty confident watching, uh, watching my guy Tyler
- 0:22Speaker 1: Warren in the early games, and then uh, things kind
- 0:25Speaker 1: of went downhill for me after that, but I feel
- 0:28Speaker 1: good about that moving forward.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Yeah, uh, Buck, I'm going back through your squad here.
- 0:33Speaker 2: You had Tederoa McMillan did a nice job for you,
- 0:36Speaker 2: Colson Lovelin and Traveon Henderson, so you and RHTT each
- 0:39Speaker 2: end up picking up three. Rhett had Tyler Warren, O,
- 0:42Speaker 2: Marion hamp O, Marion Hampton, Matthew Golden.
- 0:45Speaker 3: Uh.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Nice, nice week for me with a with a little
- 0:47Speaker 2: little combo of ash and genty and a Mecca Buka
- 0:49Speaker 2: got me some points swung for the fences on Elijah Royo.
- 0:54Speaker 2: That didn't work out, but we'll take we'll take the
- 0:57Speaker 2: we'll take the six points by the way of all
- 0:59Speaker 2: those keys. As we're kind of just do a little
- 1:01Speaker 2: mini rookie chat here before we do this week's draft
- 1:05Speaker 2: man a Mecca BUCA. That ain't a flash in the pan.
- 1:08Speaker 2: I said it on Monday, Rhett that I thought, look,
- 1:12Speaker 2: I know they have a first ballot Hall of Famer
- 1:14Speaker 2: in that receiver group, but at this point in time,
- 1:16Speaker 2: with where we're looking at skill sets, I think a
- 1:19Speaker 2: Mecca book is their best weapon.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it's clear, and I think it was.
- 1:24Speaker 1: I mean, the one thing that we kept saying throughout
- 1:26Speaker 1: the draft process is that this kid is going to
- 1:29Speaker 1: be immediate impact just because of the way he handles
- 1:32Speaker 1: his business, the way that everybody talks about him, the professionalism.
- 1:36Speaker 1: That he's going to find a way to make an
- 1:37Speaker 1: impact right away and sure enough touchdown in week one.
- 1:42Speaker 2: He's ready to roll. Harold Fannon had a nice week
- 1:45Speaker 2: last week. So you know, we've got some other rookies.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Bill Krosky, Merritt did a really nice job with Washington.
- 1:51Speaker 2: He's clearly, to me their best running back and I
- 1:53Speaker 2: don't even think it's close. Yeah, Carries are Launyah, he's
- 1:58Speaker 2: going to get the lion's share of the work there
- 2:00Speaker 2: buck any report you got, I don't think we talked
- 2:03Speaker 2: about it yet.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Just the.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Plan for Travis Hunter and what you saw week one.
- 2:09Speaker 4: So what I saw it was he was primarily wide receiver.
- 2:11Speaker 4: He only had a handful of snaps at defensive back.
- 2:15Speaker 2: And what happened.
- 2:15Speaker 4: They were in control of the game, so they're really
- 2:17Speaker 4: leaning on the run, but it was obvious they were
- 2:19Speaker 4: pumping the ball to them. If you can go back
- 2:22Speaker 4: and think about the inn and Oupolis goes way back
- 2:24Speaker 4: when they had Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison Junior and
- 2:26Speaker 4: how they run the little smash concept five yard under
- 2:29Speaker 4: with the corn over top. He got three or four
- 2:32Speaker 4: of those, and you can see one he has terrific
- 2:35Speaker 4: hands in the middle of the field, but two, he
- 2:37Speaker 4: is going to be a primary option for them, particularly
- 2:40Speaker 4: when they're working on the end breaking routes.
- 2:42Speaker 3: So I would be discouraged by the numbers that he
- 2:44Speaker 3: put up thus far.
- 2:45Speaker 2: No, it's encouraging any other rookies league wide that stood
- 2:48Speaker 2: out to you, Rat and we talked about Banks a
- 2:50Speaker 2: little bit. The offensive lineman a nice job with New Orleans,
- 2:53Speaker 2: a great zabel I did some really good things with
- 2:55Speaker 2: Seattle along their front. I don't want to just do
- 2:58Speaker 2: the offensive guys.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Yes, Sejer I thought was as advertised for The Browns
- 3:03Speaker 1: had a really really nice job on defense in this one,
- 3:06Speaker 1: really from front to back right because they limited Jamar
- 3:09Speaker 1: Chase in a big way. Same thing with t Higgins.
- 3:12Speaker 1: I mean, it was Jim Schwartz at that unit really rolling.
- 3:15Speaker 1: But I thought Swessinger has been a big plus for
- 3:17Speaker 1: them in the middle, as we all kind of thought
- 3:19Speaker 1: he was going to be.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Yeah, and going through you know, kind of looking at
- 3:23Speaker 2: those pass rushers, I mean, my eyes immediately went to
- 3:26Speaker 2: you know, I wanted to watch the cutups here and
- 3:29Speaker 2: look at Atlanta and what they were doing. Obviously an
- 3:32Speaker 2: organization that made a nice investment there. James Pearce did
- 3:35Speaker 2: not show up in the box score of zero tackles,
- 3:37Speaker 2: but he made his presence felt in my game. I
- 3:39Speaker 2: thought he had some really nice rushes and I'm excited
- 3:42Speaker 2: to see what he does going forward. So those are
- 3:44Speaker 2: some of the rookies that stood out from Week one.
- 3:47Speaker 2: We've got our We've got our rookie draft now and
- 3:50Speaker 2: I was fortunate to get the first pick last last week.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Bucket looks like it's going to go Bucky Rutting myself
- 3:56Speaker 2: will snake our way back down the rules again. You
- 3:58Speaker 2: need to run him back. You need to you need
- 4:00Speaker 2: a tight end, Buck, you are first up.
- 4:05Speaker 4: So I go first. Because I'm looking at the list.
- 4:06Speaker 4: I was all confused because I saw you then read
- 4:08Speaker 4: to me. But hey, that's cool.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Works for me.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Yeah, you got it.
- 4:11Speaker 3: You're I'm gonna take I'm gonna take the running back.
- 4:14Speaker 2: I believe in him.
- 4:14Speaker 3: I'm gonna take him. I'm gonna go with him right.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Out the gate.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Okay, I just think based off limited availability of limited
- 4:27Speaker 1: depth at the position, I'm gonna go right back to
- 4:30Speaker 1: Tyler Warren here with the Colts. It was a winner
- 4:33Speaker 1: for me last week. I know they got the Broncos
- 4:36Speaker 1: this week, so that'll be a tougher test for Daniel
- 4:38Speaker 1: Jones and company. But I like where things are going
- 4:41Speaker 1: with that position. So give me Warren at number two.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Come on, VJ.
- 4:45Speaker 5: I'm gonna have to take VJ and be like I
- 4:46Speaker 5: got a little Yeah. Let him know, a double little
- 4:49Speaker 5: double team on Tyler Warren. Let him know go elsewhere. Yeah,
- 4:53Speaker 5: help us out there, Buck. I'm going back through the
- 4:56Speaker 5: numbers from last week. So Tyler Warren did have the
- 4:58Speaker 5: most receiving yards of any rookie with eighty eight last week.
- 5:01Speaker 2: So I'll tell you what I'm gonna go. I'm gonna
- 5:06Speaker 2: go with one of Bucki's guys here. I'm gonna go
- 5:08Speaker 2: with Tedoro McMillan with my first pick to you make,
- 5:14Speaker 2: and then I'm going to come back with a Homer pick.
- 5:21Speaker 2: I'm going to come back with Omar and Hampton and
- 5:23Speaker 2: the Raiders on Monday Night to have his coming out party.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Better and better performance this week. Okay, got it? So
- 5:31Speaker 1: that means back to Rhett coming back to me here.
- 5:34Speaker 1: So I'm gonna go. I'm gonna say that Trevion Henderson
- 5:38Speaker 1: gets rolling this week against a listless Dolphins team. So
- 5:42Speaker 1: that's that's where I'm headed on that one.
- 5:44Speaker 6: Okay, Buck, you get double dip here. Okay, So I'm
- 5:50Speaker 6: gonna go. It's tough because yeah, you know what, I'll
- 5:53Speaker 6: double it, so it doesn't matter. Let's go with Lovelin
- 5:56Speaker 6: and let's go with a BOOKA.
- 5:59Speaker 2: I like that, right?
- 6:04Speaker 1: I need a receiver, yeah yeah.
- 6:06Speaker 2: You have a tight end and Warren and you have
- 6:08Speaker 2: a running back in Travon Henderson. You need to get
- 6:10Speaker 2: yourself a wide out. Let's do that.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Let's see what we got here I.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Can give you. I'm gonna just put some names out
- 6:16Speaker 2: there so people know who did what last week. So
- 6:18Speaker 2: if we're just looking at receiving yards for rookies week one,
- 6:21Speaker 2: it was Tyler Warren, Tedoa McMillan, Harold fannin Junior soon
- 6:25Speaker 2: to be my pick a, Mecca Buca, Dylan Samson, Dante Thornton.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Those are the yeah, the guys.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think, I mean, I went Matthew Golden
- 6:38Speaker 1: last week and yeah, banged up, I felt like, but
- 6:42Speaker 1: only caught two.
- 6:43Speaker 2: A lot of mouths defeat in that offense, that's.
- 6:46Speaker 1: True, and those those dudes went off to the other ones.
- 6:50Speaker 1: I think at this point I am going to I'm
- 6:56Speaker 1: gonna go with Travis Hunter.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Oh here we go.
- 7:00Speaker 4: Yeah, not bad, not a bad pick. Game should be
- 7:02Speaker 4: high scoring. She had plenty of opportunities.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Maybe this, I mean, at least the receptions are always
- 7:08Speaker 1: gonna if he if he's getting those short those short passes,
- 7:11Speaker 1: they're gonna try to let him, you know, with the
- 7:12Speaker 1: ball in his hands go. I'm gonna get some some
- 7:14Speaker 1: points there and big one last week, I get defensive
- 7:18Speaker 1: points for him too.
- 7:19Speaker 2: No no, no, no stop, he gets interception, you don't
- 7:23Speaker 2: get any of that because just just just no like
- 7:27Speaker 2: we're not playing fantasy, but what a defensive team or
- 7:30Speaker 2: defensive play? No points? No, I'm in a great area.
- 7:34Speaker 3: You always like.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Area trying to find an edge Buck, I'm gonna go. Yeah,
- 7:41Speaker 2: those years in Boston didn't serve you well? Yeah whatever,
- 7:45Speaker 2: Harold Fanner Junior from me. So Buck, you ended up
- 7:48Speaker 2: with Ash and Genty Colson lovelin a Mecca book. I
- 7:52Speaker 2: like that group. Rhett, you came away with Warren uh
- 7:55Speaker 2: Traveon Henderson hoping for a big bounce back there and
- 7:58Speaker 2: Travis Hunter swinging for the fence for some if that's
- 8:00Speaker 2: a fun watch too, you just sign yourself up for
- 8:02Speaker 2: a fun watch watch him. And then I looked, I'll
- 8:06Speaker 2: be honest, I I drafted in Fantasy League like middle late.
- 8:11Speaker 2: I ended up taking Why am I spacing on my
- 8:14Speaker 2: other receiver for for Carolina? My South Carolina guy? Yeah,
- 8:20Speaker 2: Exaberly get because I'm like, they're gonna you're gonna have
- 8:22Speaker 2: to throw the ball. He's just a year ahead of
- 8:27Speaker 2: where at a Row is coming in. And then you
- 8:29Speaker 2: watch that tape and I'm like, gosh, he can't get
- 8:31Speaker 2: his feet down on the sideline and like he had
- 8:33Speaker 2: two chances to put up some deeper feet down. Man,
- 8:36Speaker 2: he just he just did not negative. So I I
- 8:38Speaker 2: came away from that. If I'm if I'm looking at
- 8:40Speaker 2: that through Bryce Young's lens, I'm like, well, t Mac,
- 8:43Speaker 2: you're getting ready to get a whole lot of balls
- 8:45Speaker 2: coming your way, buddy. So that's why I went in
- 8:47Speaker 2: that direction. Then hero Fanagini a nice uh, A nice
- 8:49Speaker 2: week one, hoping he can bounce.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Uh.
- 8:51Speaker 2: I'll continue to that, I should say in week number two.
- 8:53Speaker 2: So there's our rookie draft. We take a break here
- 8:56Speaker 2: and we got a new thing we're doing here. Every Wednesday,
- 8:59Speaker 2: we're gonna have our coordinator of the week, could be
- 9:01Speaker 2: an offense coidner and defense coordinator. Just highlight somebody did
- 9:04Speaker 2: a nice job and maybe let a little a little
- 9:08Speaker 2: of a secret out on where these guys came from
- 9:10Speaker 2: and how they were developed as coaches. So we'll do
- 9:12Speaker 2: that right after this, all right, every week if you're
- 9:19Speaker 2: if you want to watch tape, by the way, and
- 9:20Speaker 2: you want to see who these creative coaches are and
- 9:23Speaker 2: what they're doing, you want to watch the all twenty two,
- 9:25Speaker 2: I would encourage you to sign up for NFL Plus Premium.
- 9:28Speaker 2: You can check out NFL Pro you can access over
- 9:31Speaker 2: ninety five unique player and team performance stats and the
- 9:34Speaker 2: All twenty two film. So that's available on desktop or
- 9:36Speaker 2: the mobile web. So I would encourage you if you're
- 9:39Speaker 2: kind of a tape junkie, maybe you have an interesting
- 9:42Speaker 2: scouting you want to you want to go down that path,
- 9:44Speaker 2: that's absolutely must have it. It'll be money well spent.
- 9:47Speaker 2: So we're doing this this coordinator of the week and
- 9:50Speaker 2: this week, guys, it's going to be tanner Ingstrand, the
- 9:53Speaker 2: Jets offensive coordinator. This is first year as the OC.
- 9:57Speaker 2: He's he's only five previous years of NFL coaching experience,
- 10:02Speaker 2: so most recently he was a passing game coordinator with Allions.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Think about the brain power they had their twenty three
- 10:06Speaker 2: and twenty four you know, all the success that they
- 10:09Speaker 2: had under Ben Johnson. There if you go through his
- 10:12Speaker 2: history before getting this job as office cordinat with the Jets,
- 10:16Speaker 2: he was with the Lions from twenty to twenty four,
- 10:18Speaker 2: starting as an offensive assistant, working his way up to
- 10:20Speaker 2: the passing game coordinator. He was in the XFL as
- 10:24Speaker 2: inn OC in nineteen and twenty. He was at the
- 10:26Speaker 2: University of Michigan in eighteen and nineteen, and then go
- 10:29Speaker 2: all the way back to the University of San Diego
- 10:31Speaker 2: from five to eight so you kind of see kind
- 10:34Speaker 2: of a Harbaugh thread we even through here. He was
- 10:36Speaker 2: assistant head coach an offensive coordinator from thirteen to eighteen.
- 10:39Speaker 2: There he played at San Diego State for a couple
- 10:43Speaker 2: of years. Before that, he was at Grossmont College. Buck,
- 10:46Speaker 2: do you know what my connection is to Grossmont College?
- 10:48Speaker 2: Have I told you this?
- 10:49Speaker 3: You have not?
- 10:50Speaker 2: So I come out of high school falling through the
- 10:52Speaker 2: cracks recruiting wise, not not a whole lot there. I
- 10:55Speaker 2: ended up getting a couple, you know. I ended up
- 10:57Speaker 2: having like three lower Division one offers. It was Akron
- 11:00Speaker 2: Northeast Louisiana, uh with the other my other one might
- 11:03Speaker 2: just even have been like Montana I think was the
- 11:05Speaker 2: other one at one double A. So I'm trying to
- 11:07Speaker 2: figure out, like, you know what, maybe I'll just maybe
- 11:09Speaker 2: I just go to junior college and I'll just I mean,
- 11:12Speaker 2: I'm just gonna light it up for a year, you know,
- 11:15Speaker 2: I'm going to just throw it all over the place,
- 11:18Speaker 2: and then we just open up to the Pac twelve
- 11:20Speaker 2: and then of the country. You can see what they're
- 11:21Speaker 2: missing here, so gross, my junior college is a junior
- 11:24Speaker 2: college right by my house. Get a hold of the coach.
- 11:27Speaker 2: I thought he's going to be He's just going to
- 11:29Speaker 2: be related to hear from me that I'm willing to
- 11:31Speaker 2: offer my services to come play coach Jordan a coach. Yeah,
- 11:36Speaker 2: I think I'm gonna I think I'm I'll just come
- 11:37Speaker 2: play for you at Gross Mikes. Well, we got this quarterback,
- 11:41Speaker 2: Achilles Smith, So I wouldn't you know, I wouldn't. I
- 11:45Speaker 2: wouldn't encourage you to come. I'm getting turned out by
- 11:48Speaker 2: the junior colleges. It turns out he was a top
- 11:50Speaker 2: five NFL pick, So that was that was good scouting
- 11:53Speaker 2: on his part and a total lack of awareness on mine.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Not to do my homework on that situation. But back
- 11:59Speaker 2: to the converse at hand, bucked it. Were you aware
- 12:01Speaker 2: of anything about tanner Ingstrand before we saw him in
- 12:05Speaker 2: the job he did with the Jets this last week,
- 12:07Speaker 2: which we'll get into it, and how well of a
- 12:09Speaker 2: job he did.
- 12:10Speaker 4: No, Look, I wasn't really aware, and it was fun
- 12:13Speaker 4: kind of funny to me. When Aaron Glynn made the
- 12:15Speaker 4: higher I was like, Okay, where we're going with this house,
- 12:18Speaker 4: this is going to play out? You have Justin Fields,
- 12:21Speaker 4: how is this going to mesh? Have an athlete a quarterback,
- 12:24Speaker 4: how he's going to unlock him? But then you see
- 12:26Speaker 4: the commitment to the running game and Aaron Glenn talked
- 12:29Speaker 4: about how they want to be committed to the running
- 12:30Speaker 4: game and Aaron Glenn talking about how Justin fields athleticism
- 12:34Speaker 4: and dual playmaking ability gave them problems. And then you
- 12:37Speaker 4: look and see how the Jets kind of put the
- 12:39Speaker 4: offense together and even though you have Gary Wilson, they
- 12:41Speaker 4: go and get Mason Taylor and those things. It is
- 12:44Speaker 4: still a run heavy offense. They're able to do it.
- 12:46Speaker 4: And the fact they put up thirty plus points in
- 12:49Speaker 4: the debut, and as we all said on Monday, man
- 12:53Speaker 4: Justin Fields looked like the best that we've seen in
- 12:55Speaker 4: terms of him just being under controlled and knowing exactly
- 12:58Speaker 4: what he's doing.
- 12:59Speaker 3: On top of how you perform like Mantenna did a
- 13:01Speaker 3: nice job.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I think you're you're understanding. You know, when you're
- 13:05Speaker 1: a good offensive coordinator, you're understanding. You know what your
- 13:08Speaker 1: personnel is right and where your strengths and how to
- 13:12Speaker 1: simultaneously accentuate the strengths but cover up the weaknesses. I
- 13:16Speaker 1: think starting out handing the hand of the rock to
- 13:19Speaker 1: Breece Hall a bunch and letting him get rolling. They
- 13:21Speaker 1: had some chunk play. We're ripping off chunk plays early
- 13:23Speaker 1: against the Steelers defense so much. I was like, what
- 13:26Speaker 1: what is going on here?
- 13:27Speaker 2: Now?
- 13:27Speaker 1: I know the Steelers don't have Derek Harmon right now,
- 13:29Speaker 1: but still this should be a defense that can that
- 13:32Speaker 1: can stop the run a little bit better than they did.
- 13:34Speaker 1: And uh, bres Hall went for over one hundred in
- 13:36Speaker 1: this game. And then justin fields running the rock man,
- 13:39Speaker 1: like why why take that stinger out of his game
- 13:42Speaker 1: when it is one of the best things he does
- 13:44Speaker 1: and ends up getting those those two close, those two
- 13:46Speaker 1: tight touchdowns. He runs for five first downs in this game.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Like that's I mean for sitting here on move the
- 13:53Speaker 1: sticks like that is such a big piece of your
- 13:56Speaker 1: offense when you've got a guy that can do that.
- 13:58Speaker 1: And I thought, look, over all, this offense felt way
- 14:02Speaker 1: more in rhythm in this game against the Steelers than
- 14:05Speaker 1: anything we saw in the preseason. I think we were
- 14:08Speaker 1: all kind of said I was nervous to draft Garret
- 14:10Speaker 1: Wilson in fantasy because of how bad everything looked in
- 14:12Speaker 1: the preseason. It's like they couldn't get out of their
- 14:14Speaker 1: own way, they couldn't target him. There was frustration, but
- 14:17Speaker 1: that looked that looked encouraging to me with the way
- 14:21Speaker 1: that they got the most out of Justin Field in
- 14:23Speaker 1: that game. And I think, again, that's a hat tip
- 14:25Speaker 1: to a first time offensive coordinator and play call it.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Yeah. I thought, you know, watching it live, then watching
- 14:31Speaker 2: the tape, you know, was impressive with what they did.
- 14:34Speaker 2: And then you go back and it. Sometimes you watch
- 14:37Speaker 2: the tape and then you go you comb through the
- 14:39Speaker 2: box score and you're like, man, it doesn't really tell
- 14:40Speaker 2: the story. And this time the box score matches exactly
- 14:44Speaker 2: what you saw. And so if you're going to have
- 14:45Speaker 2: a business card as a as an offensive coordinator, I
- 14:49Speaker 2: would think some of these words would be right at
- 14:51Speaker 2: the very very top. It would be we won't be physical,
- 14:54Speaker 2: we want to be explosive, we want to be creative,
- 14:57Speaker 2: we want to be balanced. Like all those things showed
- 15:00Speaker 2: up when you watched it on the tape. Membu played
- 15:02Speaker 2: great at right tackle. This offensive line did a really
- 15:05Speaker 2: nice job. They protect him and he got sacked one
- 15:08Speaker 2: time against a Steelers group with with TJ. Watt and
- 15:11Speaker 2: company in Heigsmith and all the different guys they can
- 15:12Speaker 2: throw at you. So all that stuff was great. If
- 15:15Speaker 2: Gibson doesn't fumble the return, like they win this game.
- 15:19Speaker 2: I mean that was neither the fault of the offense
- 15:21Speaker 2: nor the defense that in that case. But I'd never
- 15:24Speaker 2: seen Justin play that, And I said, use the word
- 15:28Speaker 2: conviction on Monday, just with that level of conviction of
- 15:32Speaker 2: seeing it, letting it rip working, not only you know,
- 15:34Speaker 2: outside working in the middle of the field, through the
- 15:37Speaker 2: ball accurately with you know it was the ball was
- 15:40Speaker 2: jumping out of his hand. You get. Then you mix
- 15:42Speaker 2: in like the naked touchdown, you mix in using his
- 15:45Speaker 2: legs and some of that creativity. But they had when
- 15:48Speaker 2: you go back through it, I talked about balanced. They
- 15:51Speaker 2: had three runners have a carry over fifteen yards. Well,
- 15:54Speaker 2: you know Breese Haall goes for a bucko seven, Justin
- 15:57Speaker 2: had a run of fifteen, Isaiah Davis had a run
- 15:59Speaker 2: of fifteen. Then you look at receivers. They had four
- 16:02Speaker 2: different pass catchers catch a ball over twenty yards, with
- 16:05Speaker 2: Mason Taylor who only getting one hopefully he gets more
- 16:07Speaker 2: as you go along. Tyler Johnson had one, Briest had one,
- 16:10Speaker 2: and Garrett Wilson. So this Jets offense, this dude, there's
- 16:14Speaker 2: a reason why we're trying to do this to highlight
- 16:16Speaker 2: some of these coordinators and get their name out there
- 16:19Speaker 2: and celebrate them a little bit. Because if this is
- 16:22Speaker 2: what it looks like against the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have
- 16:24Speaker 2: as good a defensives, you're going to see Buck. I
- 16:26Speaker 2: don't think there was any fluky about this whatsoever.
- 16:29Speaker 3: No, nothing.
- 16:30Speaker 4: And we know like hick coaches are coming from the
- 16:33Speaker 4: offense side of the ball, particularly those who are not
- 16:35Speaker 4: only able to create these dynamic offenses, but they elevate
- 16:39Speaker 4: the play of the quarterback. And so if we see
- 16:41Speaker 4: Justin Fields play at a ridiculous level and this offense
- 16:45Speaker 4: is giving upon his problems, he's going to be next up.
- 16:48Speaker 3: And so it is great to highlight him be on
- 16:51Speaker 3: the front end of that conversation.
- 16:53Speaker 4: Playing in New York, major media market, a lot of
- 16:56Speaker 4: eyeballs will see him kind of do his deal.
- 16:59Speaker 3: Yeah, he's on a play to kind of set them
- 17:01Speaker 3: up to launch and to distritusfy as.
- 17:03Speaker 2: A new head coach. Yeah, it was impressive.
- 17:08Speaker 3: Man.
- 17:08Speaker 2: I also, I wonder if we look back, because we
- 17:12Speaker 2: celebrated that Detroit Lions offense the last few years with
- 17:15Speaker 2: Ben Johnson, if we look back and see three four
- 17:18Speaker 2: years from now, we have a bunch of head coaches
- 17:20Speaker 2: or coordinators that were all on that one staff that
- 17:23Speaker 2: could end up being a staff that we look at
- 17:25Speaker 2: and go, Okay, gosh. Aaron Glenn now he takes his
- 17:27Speaker 2: whole wing on the defensive side of what they had
- 17:30Speaker 2: going on there. That was pretty special. Ben Johnson has
- 17:32Speaker 2: his little wing of these offensive coaches. You know, I
- 17:36Speaker 2: think we're going to look back and realize how special
- 17:38Speaker 2: of a group that was that they had assembled there.
- 17:40Speaker 2: And it's going to be a challenge for the Detroit
- 17:41Speaker 2: Lions as they've tried to kind of rebuild that coaching staff.
- 17:45Speaker 2: All right, guys, we've got a Thursday nighter. That's a
- 17:47Speaker 2: fun one. We've got Washington and Green Bay. Buck, give me,
- 17:53Speaker 2: give me the Green Bay side of this thing. Here?
- 17:55Speaker 2: What are you looking forward to here? Week number two?
- 17:57Speaker 4: Coming off a big win, Michael Parsons continued impact. We
- 18:00Speaker 4: saw Michael Parson's presence just created opportunities and the limited
- 18:05Speaker 4: times he was on the field for Seaun Gary and
- 18:07Speaker 4: others to create. But not only the guys up front
- 18:10Speaker 4: that he's playing beside, but what it's going to do
- 18:11Speaker 4: to the back end. Being able to sit behind a
- 18:15Speaker 4: dominant pass rusher in Parkins an emerging pass rusher in
- 18:18Speaker 4: Gary Man. You talk about squatting on routs and being
- 18:20Speaker 4: able to be a seaball geftball defense that feast off turnovers,
- 18:23Speaker 4: tips and overthrows. I'm looking to see how this defense
- 18:27Speaker 4: continues to grow and evolve with Michael Parsons.
- 18:30Speaker 3: Being a barrier part of the plan each and every week.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Yeah, that was just that was some of the like
- 18:39Speaker 1: most apparent domination that I have seen from a defensive run,
- 18:43Speaker 1: a defensive front against an offensive line in totality, right,
- 18:47Speaker 1: Packers against the Lions. And it's not like that group
- 18:50Speaker 1: of the Lions is like, you know, bottom of the league.
- 18:53Speaker 1: I know they've got some new PEPs.
- 18:54Speaker 2: They're not what they were last year. And they went
- 18:56Speaker 2: off first site, that's for sure.
- 18:59Speaker 1: For sure, a Glasgow at center rat Ledge in their
- 19:02Speaker 1: right guard. It was that was tough. But I think
- 19:06Speaker 1: you've also, like from the Packers point of point of view,
- 19:08Speaker 1: like again, tip of the cap to Jeff Haffley, like
- 19:11Speaker 1: he's got that group playing playing really well. And if
- 19:14Speaker 1: there was one concern that I had on the Packers
- 19:16Speaker 1: coming in, it was, all right, who's going to be
- 19:17Speaker 1: out there at corner? Like who do we do we
- 19:20Speaker 1: even know the names of the guys that are out
- 19:22Speaker 1: there at corner besides like Keishawn Nixon. But it didn't
- 19:25Speaker 1: even matter, you know what I mean, the way they
- 19:28Speaker 1: were getting after it to manufacture and all that rush
- 19:31Speaker 1: and pressure and penetration, my goodness. And then Edrin Cooper,
- 19:35Speaker 1: holy smokes, he's awesome.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Kray Walker played well too.
- 19:38Speaker 1: He did they that might be that was probably I mean,
- 19:42Speaker 1: you put that right up there with what Fred Warner did,
- 19:44Speaker 1: uh for the for the Niners in terms of best
- 19:46Speaker 1: linebacker play.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Of the week.
- 19:48Speaker 1: Those those dudes were ridiculous. So I think, you know, look,
- 19:51Speaker 1: it's going to be quite a challenge, I think for
- 19:53Speaker 1: the Commanders here on Thursday night. I'm looking forward to being,
- 19:56Speaker 1: you know, in studio for NFL Game Bay kickoff beforehand
- 19:59Speaker 1: where ago for you two hours and fifteen minutes before kick? Nice,
- 20:04Speaker 1: nice beefy.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Pret good that is beefy. Who you got with you
- 20:06Speaker 2: on this thing. Thanks nice.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Yeah, Maurice, Maurice will have a nice Parsons XO for
- 20:11Speaker 1: you that that only Maurice can do. Yeah, it's it's
- 20:17Speaker 1: always unique. Jaydan Daniels zero concern on the wrist, little
- 20:22Speaker 1: ailment that it looked like he was dealing with. According
- 20:24Speaker 1: to dan Quinn, that's great news. I want to see
- 20:26Speaker 1: a little bit more Terry McLaurin and more more Bill
- 20:28Speaker 1: Crosskey Merritt. I think the more that they can they
- 20:30Speaker 1: can get the run game going and eliminate those guys
- 20:33Speaker 1: just coming downhill in the pass rush, they're going to
- 20:36Speaker 1: be better for it.
- 20:37Speaker 2: Yeah, sequel to the movie Kill Bill. Let's feed Bill, Yes,
- 20:40Speaker 2: let's feed get him the rock. I am to me
- 20:43Speaker 2: the matchup in touch on those linebackers. The Green Bay
- 20:47Speaker 2: defense is built to play against the Jayden and Daniels
- 20:50Speaker 2: type offense. Where they want to they want to get
- 20:52Speaker 2: the tight ends, they want to work the middle of
- 20:54Speaker 2: the field. They want to put you in r p oos.
- 20:56Speaker 2: You want to put those backers in a tough and
- 20:58Speaker 2: a bind. They're quick to be able to handle that.
- 21:00Speaker 2: And then when Jade wants to take off and run,
- 21:02Speaker 2: they can run for days and you throw Micah Parsons
- 21:04Speaker 2: into that mix as well. This is going to be
- 21:07Speaker 2: a tough challenge for Washington, so I'm looking forward. I
- 21:10Speaker 2: think it's a fantastic matchup.
- 21:11Speaker 4: Man.
- 21:11Speaker 2: I feel like we've been spoiled here. I mean, let
- 21:14Speaker 2: us start to the NFL season. Week one was awesome,
- 21:17Speaker 2: A great slate of games here starting with this Thursday
- 21:20Speaker 2: night or I cannot wait for this thing to get here.
- 21:22Speaker 2: And it's been fun as we're powering through these episodes
- 21:25Speaker 2: this week. It's been great to be back together. I think,
- 21:27Speaker 2: move the sticks. We're cooking with gas right now.
- 21:28Speaker 3: Boys, we are kicking we gas. It is fun.
- 21:31Speaker 2: I'm ready now. Yeah, it's fun.
- 21:33Speaker 4: I'm rid joining Baldy joined on Mondays, gas popping on
- 21:36Speaker 4: on Thursday.
- 21:37Speaker 2: A lot of cool. Yeah we got may I come on. Yeah,
- 21:40Speaker 2: fired up about that. So we'll have a blast on
- 21:43Speaker 2: that one and then we'll be ready to preview some
- 21:46Speaker 2: stuff as well as we go through Friday's episode. So
- 21:49Speaker 2: that's going to do it for us today. I hope
- 21:50Speaker 2: you guys have enjoyed it. Big, big week for rookies.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Hopefully another impressive week for these young studs ahead and
- 21:56Speaker 2: we'll be here to recap all that next week as well.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Right upon movisticks
- 22:13Speaker 4: Hmm,
