- 0:01Speaker 1: Well, Michael Goodwin, the best columnist in America. You can
- 0:04Speaker 1: read them every Sunday and every Wednesday in the New
- 0:07Speaker 1: York Post. And all of his columns are up on
- 0:09Speaker 1: the New York Post website. You can go there and
- 0:11Speaker 1: read them. And he's with us now. Michael Goodwin, How
- 0:13Speaker 1: you doing okay?
- 0:15Speaker 2: Mark? Thank you?
- 0:16Speaker 1: Hey? You wrote about the Democrats did a big autopsy
- 0:21Speaker 1: to figure out what went wrong in the election of
- 0:24Speaker 1: twenty twenty four. It is the phoniest, fakest, most ridiculous
- 0:30Speaker 1: non autopsy I've ever seen. What are they thinking?
- 0:34Speaker 2: Well, the one truth is that it was written by
- 0:39Speaker 2: a part time, temporary worker. I mean, this is the
- 0:45Speaker 2: way I guess sort of party the distance itself from
- 0:49Speaker 2: the product. But overall, you're correct, it's a disaster and
- 0:56Speaker 2: it doesn't really point a way to any real solution.
- 1:01Speaker 2: I focused on the one issue that I think it
- 1:05Speaker 2: did get right, and that was that the Tomla Harris
- 1:11Speaker 2: had sunk herself with that video showing her supporting surgery
- 1:18Speaker 2: for transgender criminals, No questions asked, everybody's entitlement, and Donald
- 1:26Speaker 2: Trump turned it into an ad and it's a great
- 1:29Speaker 2: ad in which recounts her words, and then the voiceover
- 1:35Speaker 2: says she is for they them, Donald Trump is for you.
- 1:42Speaker 2: And I think it was a brilliant summation, and to
- 1:46Speaker 2: its credit, the report did go into some detail talking
- 1:50Speaker 2: about how posters have Trump spent so much money running
- 1:55Speaker 2: his ad over and over in the swing states, and
- 1:58Speaker 2: posters agreed. It was very effect.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Yeah, except it looks like they haven't learned their lesson,
- 2:05Speaker 1: you know, with these crazy extremist positions. They're taking even
- 2:08Speaker 1: more of them. They're talking about AOC for the nominee.
- 2:11Speaker 1: It sounds like they're going even further the left. What
- 2:13Speaker 1: are they thinking?
- 2:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree, I mean that you're right to extent,
- 2:19Speaker 2: and they seem not to have learned anything about the
- 2:23Speaker 2: American voters. And I think that it does point up
- 2:27Speaker 2: the fact March as you say, they're moving further and
- 2:31Speaker 2: further left. I mean we see that in New York
- 2:34Speaker 2: right with Hamamdani is kind of dragging Hocal and the
- 2:40Speaker 2: legislature into into his socialism cab and of course Mandanni
- 2:46Speaker 2: on the anti Semitism, I mean that is a that's
- 2:50Speaker 2: a feature of the new left. So yeah, we're seeing
- 2:54Speaker 2: it all the country in the Blue States, the Blue
- 2:57Speaker 2: cities and we'll we'll see how the Democrats do in
- 3:02Speaker 2: the midterm. But also quickly followed by the lineup for
- 3:06Speaker 2: the twenty twenty eight presidential election. Right now, you know
- 3:12Speaker 2: Avin Newsom aoc. I mean, who's going to be their candidate.
- 3:17Speaker 2: It's not a very talent rich field.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Yeah. And why are they talking about redoing our government,
- 3:24Speaker 1: redoing democracy again?
- 3:26Speaker 2: Really?
- 3:26Speaker 1: Electoral college, stacking the Supreme Court, making Puerto Rico and
- 3:31Speaker 1: DC state. Why are they talking so radically?
- 3:36Speaker 2: Well, they want what they want, and apparently the Constitution
- 3:43Speaker 2: stands in their way. The amendments of Free Speaks, all
- 3:49Speaker 2: these things block the total mindset takeover of the far left.
- 3:56Speaker 2: This is a look you and I talk about this.
- 4:00Speaker 2: This is a perilous time for the country. When you
- 4:04Speaker 2: think about just since World War Two, what the world
- 4:10Speaker 2: would look like if America were not the country it
- 4:14Speaker 2: has been strongest military, you know, a beacon for freedom
- 4:20Speaker 2: around the world. If you take all of that away,
- 4:24Speaker 2: what do you have left?
- 4:27Speaker 1: Yeah? You think the fact that Mam Donnie won so
- 4:32Speaker 1: easily in New York is encouraging them, and they don't
- 4:35Speaker 1: realize that's just crazy New York that the rest of
- 4:38Speaker 1: the country's not going to vote for radicals like that.
- 4:42Speaker 2: I think they're playing sort of a long game mark
- 4:47Speaker 2: wherever they can get a win, they'll take it and
- 4:50Speaker 2: go to the bank on it and then move up
- 4:53Speaker 2: the ladder. I mean the way Mam Donnie has convinced
- 4:58Speaker 2: the hocal that she should go along with him. I
- 5:02Speaker 2: mean he's calling the shots in Albany, and she's doing it,
- 5:07Speaker 2: of course, because she believes that's how she'll win her
- 5:11Speaker 2: election in the fall. So that's how it happens, kind of,
- 5:15Speaker 2: one election at a time. The takeover is is proceeding.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Yeah, Hey, when the Deblasio got elected, the radical Deblasio,
- 5:28Speaker 1: he started catering to the billionaires, to the business crowd.
- 5:31Speaker 1: They all got his cell number. He was taking good
- 5:33Speaker 1: care of them. So he pretended to be radical. But
- 5:36Speaker 1: meantime those guys loved them and they made sure he
- 5:38Speaker 1: got reelected. We don't see Mom Donnie following that same path,
- 5:41Speaker 1: do he?
- 5:43Speaker 2: No. I think you're I think you're right that de
- 5:46Speaker 2: Blasio is kind of a fake faith socialist, right. He
- 5:52Speaker 2: liked to sleep in, you know, he didn't know what
- 5:54Speaker 2: to work all that kind of stuff. Give him a
- 5:58Speaker 2: little money you'll get what you want. But I think Mom,
- 6:02Speaker 2: Donnie to that in that regard is a true believer
- 6:07Speaker 2: in the cause. And we see all the different tentacles
- 6:13Speaker 2: of that cause. They're all destructive to the world as
- 6:17Speaker 2: we know it.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Hey, the Israel Day Parade is coming up. Mom, Donnie
- 6:22Speaker 1: looks like he's not gonna go. That's probably a smart decision.
- 6:25Speaker 1: I don't think he should, and I don't think anybody
- 6:26Speaker 1: wants him there, do they. No.
- 6:29Speaker 2: I've just reading a speech this morning from a Rabbi
- 6:34Speaker 2: Mark Schneier on the East Side, and he said, thank you,
- 6:38Speaker 2: thank you for not come. We don't want you. And uh,
- 6:41Speaker 2: you know you're you're out for Judaism, You're not. You know,
- 6:47Speaker 2: little scenario is so ridiculous. So I think I think
- 6:51Speaker 2: the broke, the break with large parts of the Jewish
- 6:55Speaker 2: community is pretty complete. Of course, there there are those
- 6:59Speaker 2: Jews who do support him, and probably some who are
- 7:03Speaker 2: sitting in the middle and in between the two groups.
- 7:06Speaker 2: But yeah, I think it's this issue has not run
- 7:10Speaker 2: its course, that's for sure.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what's funny. He was at the Knicks game.
- 7:14Speaker 1: As soon as the Knicks won last night, he tweeted out.
- 7:17Speaker 1: That's not very socialist, is it too? That's that's not
- 7:22Speaker 1: the real hymn, is it.
- 7:24Speaker 2: No? I look, I think to a certain extent, you know,
- 7:29Speaker 2: he's kind of a creature of his own swamp in
- 7:32Speaker 2: the sense that he he follows, you know, he follows
- 7:37Speaker 2: is whatever whichever way the wind is blowing on certain
- 7:42Speaker 2: certain popular issues. Like all politicians, he wants to be
- 7:46Speaker 2: in the parade. And you know, I once earned someone
- 7:50Speaker 2: to describe a politician's parade watching a politician watches which
- 7:56Speaker 2: way the parade is going in the runs to get
- 7:58Speaker 2: in front of Yeah, and I think gotcha. Of what
- 8:02Speaker 2: he's doing with popular issues like the next I mean,
- 8:05Speaker 2: he can't be against the Knicks right now in New York.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true. Well, Michael Goodwin, great stuff. Your next
- 8:12Speaker 1: column is tomorrow. Michael Goodwin is every Sunday and every
- 8:16Speaker 1: Wednesday in the New York Post and all his columns
- 8:19Speaker 1: are up on the New York Post website. Great talking
- 8:21Speaker 1: to you, and we'll do it again soon. Thanks for
- 8:23Speaker 1: being with.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Us, Mike Pleasure, Mark, thank you.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Take care
