- 0:37facts, and more just for curious kids like you.
- 0:40Today's episode is all about speed and excitement because
- 0:44we're going to explore some of the top fastest cars in the
- 0:47world. If you've ever wondered just how
- 0:49fast a car can go or what makes these cars special, you're in
- 0:54the right place. Buckle up and get ready for a
- 0:56wild ride into the world of super speedy cars.
- 1:10First, let's talk about what makes a car the fastest.
- 1:14When we say fastest car, we're usually talking about the
- 1:18highest speed a car can reach. This is called the car's top
- 1:22speed. Most cars you see on the road,
- 1:24like family cars or school buses, have top speeds much
- 1:29lower than these supercars. For example, a regular car might
- 1:33go about 120 kilometers per hour, or around 75 mph.
- 1:39That's fast enough for highways, but the fastest cars in the
- 1:42world can go more than three times that speed.
- 1:45Now let's start our countdown with some of the fastest cars in
- 1:49the world today. Coming in at #5 is the Bugatti
- 1:52Chiron Super Sport 300 Plus. This car is made by Bugatti, a
- 1:57company in France known for making some of the most powerful
- 2:01and luxurious cars ever. The Char and Super Sport 300
- 2:05Plus can hit a top speed of about 304 mph, which is around
- 2:10490 kilometers per hour. Imagine driving that fast.
- 2:14At that speed, you could go from one end of a soccer field to the
- 2:18other in less than a second. The Char and Super Sport 300
- 2:22Plus has a huge engine with 16 cylinders, and it even has four
- 2:27turbochargers to give it extra power.
- 2:29It uses special tires, special brakes, and even special paint
- 2:34to help it go faster and stay safe.
- 2:36Did you know that at top speed, the Bugatti Char and Super Sport
- 2:40300 Plus would travel almost the length of three football fields
- 2:44in just one second? That's how fast it is at #4 We
- 2:49have the SSC Tuatara. This car comes from an American
- 2:53company called SSC North America.
- 2:56The tuatara has a top speed of about 295 mph or 475 kilometers
- 3:03per hour. The name Tuatara comes from a
- 3:06type of reptile found in New Zealand.
- 3:08But this car is definitely not slow like a lizard.
- 3:12The SSC Tuatara has a super powerful engine with 1750
- 3:18horsepower. That's more than 10 times the
- 3:21power of most regular cars. Its body is made of carbon
- 3:25fiber, which is a strong but very light material, helping the
- 3:28car go even faster. Here's a trivia question for
- 3:32you. What is the main reason car
- 3:34makers use carbon fiber and super fast cars?
- 3:37Is it because carbon fiber is colorful, super heavy, or very
- 3:42light? The answer is carbon fiber is
- 3:48very light. Using lighter materials helps
- 3:51the cars accelerate faster and reach higher top speeds.
- 3:55Coming in at #3 is the Hennessy Venom F5.
- 3:59This car is made in Texas, USA by a company called Hennessy
- 4:04Special Vehicles. The Venom F5 gets its name from
- 4:07the F5 Tornado, which is the fastest and most powerful kind
- 4:12of tornado. This car can reach a top speed
- 4:15of 272 mph or 438 kilometers per hour.
- 4:20The Venom F5 has a twin turbocharged V8 engine and it
- 4:24produces a huge amount of power, 1817 horsepower.
- 4:30The car is also designed to be very aerodynamic, which means it
- 4:34cuts through the air smoothly, reducing drag and making it
- 4:38easier to go fast. Here's a yes or no question.
- 4:41Do you think the Hennessy Venom F5 is faster than the speed of
- 4:45sound? The answer is no, it's not
- 4:51faster than the speed of sound. The speed of sound is about 767
- 4:56mph, so even the fastest cars in the world are still slower than
- 5:01sound waves. Now let's get to #2 the
- 5:04Koenigsegg Jesco Absolu. This car is made in Sweden by a
- 5:08company called Koenigsegg, and it's known for being one of the
- 5:12most advanced supercars ever built.
- 5:15The Jesco Absolu is designed to be as fast as possible, with a
- 5:19super slippery shape and very little drag.
- 5:22It's top speed is estimated to be over 330 mph, or about 531
- 5:28kilometers per hour, but it hasn't been officially tested at
- 5:31its absolute limit yet. The Jesco Absolutes engine can
- 5:35run on special fuel called E85, which is a mix of ethanol and
- 5:40gasoline to produce even more power.
- 5:43The company says that the Jesco Absolute is one of the fastest
- 5:46cars they will ever make. Did you know that the Koenigsegg
- 5:50Just Go Absolut has a rear wing that can change its angle while
- 5:53driving. This helps the car stay balanced
- 5:56at super high speeds. Finally, we reach #1 the current
- 6:01record holder for the fastest production car.
- 6:04That title belongs to the Yong Wong U9 Extreme.
- 6:06Made by BYD. The Yong Wong U9 Extreme is an
- 6:10electric hyper car that set the official record for the world's
- 6:13fastest production car in September 2025 with a top speed
- 6:17of 380. 8 mph or 496 kilometers per hour.
- 6:23It has powerful electric motors and is designed to be as light
- 6:27and fast as possible. It has a special aerodynamic
- 6:31design, which means it slices through the air with almost no
- 6:34resistance. The Yamunyu 9 Extreme is built
- 6:38for setting records. Here's a trivia question for
- 6:40you. Which country is Bugatti, the
- 6:43company that makes the Charan Super Sport 300 Plus based in?
- 6:50The answer is France. Bugatti has been building high
- 6:54speed cars in France for over 100 years.
- 6:57So what makes these cars so fast?
- 7:00There are a few important things.
- 7:02First, they have extremely powerful engines, much more
- 7:06powerful than regular cars. Second, they are made with light
- 7:10materials like carbon fiber or titanium, which help them weigh
- 7:14less. 3rd, their shapes are designed to be aerodynamic, so
- 7:19they move through the air more easily.
- 7:21And 4th, they use super special tires and brakes that can handle
- 7:25the incredible forces at high speeds.
- 7:28Let's do another yes or no question.
- 7:30Do you think any of these cars can drive as fast on regular
- 7:34city roads as they do on a race track?
- 7:39The answer is no, they can't. City roads have speed limits,
- 7:43traffic lights, and other cars, so supercars must go much slower
- 7:48in normal places. Now here's one last trivia
- 7:51question. What is the main job of the
- 7:53tires on a super fast car? Is it to look cool, make the car
- 7:57quieter, or grip the road tightly at high speeds?
- 8:04The answer is to grip the road tightly at high speeds.
- 8:08Without special tires, these cars would not be able to stay
- 8:12safe and in control at such amazing speeds.
- 8:15Let's recap what we learned. Today.
- 8:18We talked about some of the top fastest cars in the world, the
- 8:21Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300 Plus, the SSC Tuatara, the
- 8:26Hennessy Venom F5, the Koenigsegg Jesco Absolu, and the
- 8:31Yong Wang YU-9 Extreme. These cars can reach incredible
- 8:35speeds thanks to powerful engines, lightweight materials,
- 8:39aerodynamic designs, and special tires.
- 8:42They're made by companies in countries like France, the
- 8:45United States, and Sweden. Even though they can go super
- 8:49fast, these cars are mostly used for racing or breaking records,
- 8:53not for everyday driving. And remember, the speed of sound
- 8:57is much faster than any car can go.
- 9:00Thanks for listening to Kick Ass Daily.
- 9:03Keep exploring, keep asking questions, and who knows, maybe
- 9:07one day you'll design the next fastest car in the world.
- 9:10Grab your breakfast. Feeling fine?
