- 0:03Let's talk. Hey weirdos, welcome back to our
- 0:08two Jens. What is up?
- 0:10Happy New year weirdos. Happy New Year, we survived
- 0:132025. OK, we made it.
- 0:15Barely barely. I know y'all are sick too, don't
- 0:18even worry about it. Yeah, we going to do our best to
- 0:20get through this episode without any coughing fits or.
- 0:23Sneezing. But it's cool to sneeze with us
- 0:25because it's fine. It is what it is.
- 0:27All of us were sick but 2025, it was fantastic.
- 0:31It was great. We started this podcast.
- 0:33Y'all are along for the ride. We have a whole year of so much
- 0:37potential. So excited.
- 0:39Let's do this. It's going to be great.
- 0:42But we're back with an episode. A lot's going on in the world.
- 0:45And I wanted to start off with this really strange story that I
- 0:48found on the New York Post. So if we can go to my media,
- 0:52please. So this woman on your screen,
- 0:55this is Gina and that's her child.
- 0:56And if you look really, really closely, the child is not real.
- 1:02But it looks so. Real, right?
- 1:06So real. But this is her child.
- 1:07Gina Kassoff is her name and she is a married mother of five.
- 1:11Real adult children, yeah. Real adult children fully grown,
- 1:16but she has 20 dolls when. You sent me this article.
- 1:21I instantly got the shivers because because I don't like
- 1:24life like dolls. Exactly.
- 1:26And this, this doll, I mean, look at the eyes.
- 1:28Oh my. God, I mean she even has like of
- 1:31some rosacea on her face. Yeah, she's real.
- 1:34This is a real child. So she has 20 real dolls.
- 1:38She calls them reborn dolls. And she has this whole like
- 1:42lifestyle on YouTube and TikTok and Instagram and everything
- 1:45where she just like makes videos where she like tucks them in
- 1:49and. Goes shopping and.
- 1:51It's like harmless. It seems harmless, but it's a
- 1:53little creepy. Tell us how much she makes per
- 1:56year. Per year, though.
- 1:58OK, she has a bunch of haters and stuff, but she's chuckling
- 2:00as she goes to the bank to cash in $200,000 worth of profits for
- 2:05this lifestyle that she's making.
- 2:07I cannot be mad at her. I could hate but.
- 2:11But how much do you make for? You, that's what.
- 2:13I'm saying. I'm saying so.
- 2:15I went into it also because I saw her her TikTok and I
- 2:19remember seeing the the hate in the comments.
- 2:21There was a lot of people being like she's sick she needs to go
- 2:24to therapy did she lose a baby? Like, what is her deal?
- 2:27And I told you I just was freaked out because I don't like
- 2:30life like dolls, period. Gross.
- 2:33But in the article, she brought up a really good point.
- 2:35She did. She did.
- 2:36She talked about how men are allowed to keep their childhood
- 2:42things that they love, video games, D&D, going to Renaissance
- 2:46fairs, doing all these things, these dress up things or
- 2:48whatever, and nobody kind of knocks.
- 2:51Anything for that, right? But she's doing this completely
- 2:55harmless thing, taking care of these children, and people are
- 2:59coming for her like she's kicking puppies.
- 3:01Exactly like. She's not hurting anyone and she
- 3:05also mentioned how she's not wasting products either because
- 3:07like in her videos and stuff she talked about how she has like
- 3:10yogurt and then she makes food. So all the food that she makes,
- 3:14she eats, she goes shopping, she donates the clothes later on and
- 3:17stuff. Harmless people are coming for
- 3:20her. Well, the fact that she makes
- 3:22that much money per year shows me how many Subs she has, right.
- 3:25And so there's so many people around the world because she
- 3:28mentioned that she has children, a lot of children that follow
- 3:31her, But she also has a lot of adults, yeah, who are, like,
- 3:34trying to reclaim their childhood.
- 3:36And they still play with dolls. And so she's not alone out here.
- 3:40In this thing, this niche little part of the lifestyle category
- 3:45of content creation, right? It's fine, in fact.
- 3:48But my thing is, is that she's doing all the same things as
- 3:51like the stay at home content creator moms with real children
- 3:56do. Well then.
- 3:58But. But we're not traumatizing her
- 4:00children. That's what I'm saying, but hers
- 4:02is wrong because. Exactly.
- 4:05Very good point. So I don't know, I think it's
- 4:08fine. It's a little creepy, yes, but
- 4:09it's I think it's harmless. That's her.
- 4:12That's her like. That's her favorite *.
- 4:14That's right, yeah. It's wrong.
- 4:16She has a favorite child, right She.
- 4:18Does she'll take Pippa out by herself?
- 4:20Yeah. What do the other dolls?
- 4:21Think about this and good to know she's not a racist either
- 4:26because she has. I know she's.
- 4:27Got all the different colors, all the doll colors.
- 4:30It's just a rainbow in her own. That's fantastic, but literally
- 4:36just mornings with doll mom it seems very harmless.
- 4:40It does. So I don't have anything against
- 4:42it, I think it's fine. And they also had spoken to a
- 4:46therapist in the article who says that I did not treat her.
- 4:50I haven't talked to her. But saying something like this
- 4:52is perfectly harmless because it hasn't getting to the point that
- 4:56it's affecting her life, you know, where it's like she's
- 4:58ignoring real people in her life or, you know, not going to work.
- 5:02Well, this is her work. This is her job.
- 5:05Cashing $200,000 a year. I'm not mad at.
- 5:08Her, Me neither. So to each her own.
- 5:11I think it's fine. I think it's harmless.
- 5:14Good for her. Those kids are living the life.
- 5:16I'm kind of jealous. Right, they got the best clothes
- 5:18and they don't even know it exactly.
- 5:20So I don't know. I'm not against it, but that's
- 5:23just me. I don't like dolls.
- 5:29Not those dolls. Not those dolls, she.
- 5:31Has 20 of them. And would she say it said it
- 5:34cost between 2 and 10 grand per doll?
- 5:37Per Doll. Yeah, depending on who made it
- 5:39and all of that stuff. Great business for the doll
- 5:41makers, right? I like.
- 5:43To make a couple per year and you're good and you're.
- 5:44Good. So I don't know.
- 5:47Not against it, I mean. It's an it's an artisan.
- 5:49Somebody's making these things by hand.
- 5:51I'm not. I'm not going to fight it.
- 5:53Seriously, if you're pressed, then what's wrong with?
- 5:55You. Yeah.
- 5:56So before, you know, we normally go into, like, this is what's
- 6:00coming out on TV this week. I did want to talk about
- 6:03STRANGER Things for a second. So spoiler alert, you know, we
- 6:08probably will say something spoilery in this little section.
- 6:11So we haven't watched the finale.
- 6:12Go watch it. But I feel really satisfied by
- 6:18the ending. I do, God forbid I do.
- 6:22A lot of people are so pressed about the ending.
- 6:25They hate it. They have so many questions.
- 6:28There were a couple of holes because I mean, it's.
- 6:29Really hard to like. Tie up this big of a universe.
- 6:33So like, I get it, but like it wasn't garbage.
- 6:36It wasn't. I felt really good.
- 6:38I mean the purple rain needle drop almost ended me.
- 6:41I was like, why did you choose? This.
- 6:45Yeah, just. Oh my God.
- 6:47But I do. I felt very satisfied.
- 6:49I love the epilogue at the end. The fact that we know exactly
- 6:52where all the characters are going, where they're living,
- 6:55where they're, you know, and then also the next generation of
- 6:58kids that are going down into that basement to play D&D.
- 7:00Play D&D and it's not. Over, I hope.
- 7:04It's like. Yeah, that's D&D like.
- 7:06No more strangers. Yeah, just just D&D.
- 7:10But I thought it was cute. I thought it was great.
- 7:12I like how they did it like that.
- 7:16Well, spoiler I don't like that 11 is we don't know where she
- 7:22is. We don't know.
- 7:23Believe you choose to believe. You choose to believe.
- 7:26Live in my delulu. Yes, I mean, she's out there in
- 7:29the mountains. She found her three waterfalls
- 7:32and she's there was only two, only saw two, but I also believe
- 7:36that maybe there was one on the other side that we just didn't
- 7:38get to see stop the camera. So she got her.
- 7:41Full fantasy exactly without Mike.
- 7:44Yeah, yeah, Mike is becoming a writer.
- 7:47He's going to sit in a different basement.
- 7:49Becoming a writer. Oh, by the way, I don't know if
- 7:51you've noticed, but he had the the painting that Will painted.
- 7:57It was on the wall when he was writing.
- 8:00So for all the Byler stands. That are just holding on by a
- 8:04thread. By a thread because they had
- 8:07this one random guy in a gay bar with no lines.
- 8:11Is that a zoo Boo? I just hope it wasn't Jeffrey
- 8:14Dahmer. Someone someone got a still and
- 8:18there was a guy like a blonde guy with he looked like glasses.
- 8:21He looked just like him. I was like, are we doing this on
- 8:23purpose? Oh my God.
- 8:25Don't come for Will. Oh my God.
- 8:29And there's no hive mind to tap into like you're.
- 8:32You're done, you're on your own. I hope he just does not meet
- 8:35Dahmer but. But the ending was good and I.
- 8:40Felt good. Yeah, it was good.
- 8:42You know, I tend not to judge things for what I wanted it to
- 8:46be. I let it be what it is and then
- 8:48determine how I felt about it. And I felt really good about it.
- 8:52I I don't feel like I had very many questions.
- 8:55I was just like, oh, oh, OK. You know, it just, it felt, it
- 8:59felt good. Yeah.
- 9:00To see everybody. And I will say Steve's storyline
- 9:04I love the most because he, you know, was the hot guy in school
- 9:08and all this stuff. And he was just like, wait, I
- 9:10love living in this small town. I want to coach children.
- 9:14I want to have six Nuggets, 6 Nuggets.
- 9:17Stop calling them Nuggets. He wants a wife.
- 9:20He's on his hunt for a wife. Really is.
- 9:23Like I don't, I don't hate that. Like there's nothing wrong with
- 9:25loving where you are in life. Exactly.
- 9:27Not everything has to be like I have to go get.
- 9:29This band, exactly. Because that's not just
- 9:32everyone. No, it's not everyone.
- 9:34Yeah, I thought it was cute, so whatever, y'all.
- 9:38OK now we will go through the shows premiering this week, so
- 9:42will Trent season 4 on Tuesday. I love will Trent the Chihuahua.
- 9:49Who this Chihuahua stop? No, you have the media.
- 9:55Miss Betty, I love her. She loves all the greatest
- 9:59little outfits. She's such a well trained dog
- 10:02and I think I read a long time ago I'm sorry if I'm wrong but
- 10:06this. They adopted her like they went
- 10:07and found her. She wasn't.
- 10:08Officially, yeah, she wasn't. Like a trained dog out there
- 10:11that they found her. She's just the sweetest little
- 10:13thing. I love Betty.
- 10:14Does she have an IMDb? You know I don't.
- 10:16Know she should have an IMDb. We should try that.
- 10:19We should check it out. Yeah.
- 10:20Yeah. I love Miss Betty.
- 10:21So anyway, will Trent on Tuesday.
- 10:23Love it, love it, love it on Thursday.
- 10:26Yes, our opinion, the greatest show on on the air right now.
- 10:30It was so. Good the Season 1.
- 10:33Was everything 15 episodes of just back?
- 10:38To back-to-back like it did not let off of our necks.
- 10:42Not at all. It was.
- 10:43So much pressure, yeah. Yeah, I felt it every time.
- 10:46It's like, Oh my God, this is what it's like to even just a
- 10:49little bit of working in emergency services.
- 10:52I could not imagine that. And they did a really good job
- 10:55at showing how it affects people exactly, you know, living and
- 10:58working in this environment because.
- 11:00You're treating humans for things that you're not treating
- 11:03for yourself. Like who's looking out for you?
- 11:05Exactly for your well-being you're dealing.
- 11:07With all this, you saw all those mass casualty patients in the
- 11:11first season. Yeah.
- 11:12And they're like just go home, get 3 hours of sleep and then
- 11:15come back. Come on back.
- 11:16I mean, the mass casualty event happened and then they opened up
- 11:20the ER and they're like, let's clean up all the blood from the
- 11:22ground still on the. Ground like and then.
- 11:24Let's just get going again. It's crazy.
- 11:27So match that out to everybody who works in those environments,
- 11:29because I know I I would, I could not I.
- 11:32Could not. I'd be like, oh girl.
- 11:35She said. I don't know if this is for me.
- 11:36I don't know if this. Is for me.
- 11:38Her mom is about that life, but she's not no.
- 11:40But I did have one question about this guy because.
- 11:45Why did I see you in the trailer in the?
- 11:47Trailer for Season 2. So what are you doing here?
- 11:49If you watch Season 1, you know he should not be here.
- 11:52What is he doing there? I don't know.
- 11:54We'll find out on Thursday. I just don't.
- 11:56Like his face, You know what I mean?
- 11:57I don't. Like his chin.
- 11:59Oh. Yeah, his butt, chin swipe a
- 12:02credit card and that. Also on Thursday is the Hunting
- 12:06Party season 2. So I watched this and it was
- 12:09really, really fun. It's a it's a procedural.
- 12:13There was an like an underground bunker where, you know, serial
- 12:16killers should have been euthanized in real life, but
- 12:21instead they put them in this in this bunker and the bunker
- 12:24explodes and all the serial killers get out.
- 12:25So every episode. Isn't it great?
- 12:28Concept. Every episode is just them
- 12:30looking for these new serial killers.
- 12:32And then I also read that Miss Niecy Nash Betts will be doing a
- 12:36stint on this. Seriously.
- 12:37Yeah, she's coming in as a detective.
- 12:40Yes, Love her. So she's going to bring
- 12:42something really fun to this show.
- 12:44Always, always. And on a Sunday, we have the
- 12:49golden. Globes.
- 12:50The Golden Globes. If you are an award show
- 12:54watcher, this one normally kicks off the season, Yeah.
- 12:57It's the start of the season, Yeah, the.
- 12:58Sunday that we're currently recording on is the Critics
- 13:02Choice Awards. And before we hopped on, I saw
- 13:05that Sinners is killing. So as they should.
- 13:10Be able to see. For sure when we're done, but
- 13:12that's what I saw right before we sat down her.
- 13:15Her. But thank you.
- 13:17I do think we should take a moment to talk about the Golden
- 13:20Globes, all the first time nominees, the best Picture, just
- 13:24drama, because that's all I'm interested in.
- 13:27She's like comedy. Can kick racks they can.
- 13:30Because this is not even that impressive this year.
- 13:32Anyway, so we got Frankenstein, directed by Guillermo del Turro.
- 13:37Great movie. If you haven't watched it,
- 13:39please watch it. It was.
- 13:41I love it. I love I like I that's in our
- 13:45genre already. We were like ready to watch it,
- 13:47but it was so good. The storytelling was great.
- 13:50The costume, which is funny because he was wearing almost
- 13:52nothing for the first half of the movie, but but Kate.
- 13:54Hawley killed it with costumes like it was really really really
- 13:59good. So please go watch that.
- 14:01But yes, Frankenstein that was nominated for best picture.
- 14:04We also have Hamlet by Chloe Zhao.
- 14:08Same chick that did Eternals I believe.
- 14:11Yeah. Absolutely so.
- 14:13Good for her, she's got another one.
- 14:14She wore tennis. Shoes to the Oscars.
- 14:15So she's a queen in my book. Yeah, that's actually.
- 14:18Kind of fire, right? She's like, whatever.
- 14:20I'm gonna be comfortable cuz so. Who's checking for me?
- 14:25And then we also have this movie called It was it was just an
- 14:29accident. So I did my research on this
- 14:31one. Tell me.
- 14:32This one. Was really interesting because
- 14:34it is an Iranian movie and they had to film it in secret due to
- 14:38the context of the movie. So it was like against, you
- 14:44know, certain. Beliefs.
- 14:45And stuff. And this is not the first time,
- 14:47but the director was arrested and sentenced to a year in
- 14:52prison. They appealed and they should be
- 14:54in in court today, the day that we're filming this.
- 14:58But. That's very interesting, right?
- 15:01You know, and This is why art is so important.
- 15:03Like, he was willing. He knew the danger of what he
- 15:06was doing. Even the editor.
- 15:08He talked to the editor. He said you could be banned from
- 15:11your country if you decided to take on this project.
- 15:14They decided to do it. Go forward anyway.
- 15:17I love. It I know.
- 15:19I know I feel like I must watch. Thank you like I.
- 15:22Have to. Know.
- 15:23Absolutely. Yeah, anyway, like.
- 15:25Shout out to them for still making the movie anyway and for
- 15:28them getting the nomination. So yeah, good for them.
- 15:31I know. Next up, this is the director,
- 15:33by the way, OK. Shout.
- 15:35Out to him, shout out to his face.
- 15:38We have sentimental value. This one is a Norwegian film, I
- 15:42believe. So again, international films
- 15:45getting their love. I kind of love it.
- 15:47I have. Been seeing some stuff about the
- 15:49elder scars guard going against one of the younger Scars guards
- 15:52because they're going against each other in certain
- 15:54categories. Seriously.
- 15:55As the lead actor, see. I love that.
- 15:59I love that. Yeah.
- 16:00So. I'm excited to see all that.
- 16:03I mean shout out you know, but looks good anyway.
- 16:08We always get a little excited when we see this.
- 16:10We loved her. We loved it so much, so good.
- 16:14Other than. It just being good.
- 16:16I love seeing horror being represented at award shows
- 16:19because above any other genre, this is the one that is just
- 16:23flat out ignored. Ignored.
- 16:24Yeah, disrespected. It might as well not even be a
- 16:27movie, right? Right.
- 16:28They're just like, whatever, you did something over there.
- 16:31I mean, it was a travesty that Lupita Noongo was not nominated
- 16:35for us. I'm still.
- 16:35Pressed about that, Two people, two different.
- 16:39So we have version two of the same scenario.
- 16:44Let's not do this again and as Michael.
- 16:46B Jordan killed it, OK. His first nomination, too.
- 16:49They're playing two different characters, yes, So let's not do
- 16:52this again. Quit playing.
- 16:54Like. OK, just cause it's horror
- 16:56doesn't mean that it's not storytelling.
- 16:57In fact, it's some of the best storytelling out of there out
- 17:00there. OK, Yeah.
- 17:01Thank you. Anyway, we set our piece, yes.
- 17:03And then last but not least, the Secret Agent.
- 17:06This one is a Brazilian film, so we have 3 international films
- 17:10for Best Picture, for Drama. I love that.
- 17:13I actually love that. I like.
- 17:14That actor, too, Yeah. He was on Civil War, you
- 17:17remember. Oh my God, He.
- 17:19Wasn't civil war another? Movie that really good.
- 17:23That was the one. Dead movie.
- 17:26Really good movie. But y'all ain't.
- 17:30Ready for that conversation. So I figured we should also take
- 17:34time for the first time nominees.
- 17:36I'm only going to focus on the ones that are black.
- 17:38I'm sorry, black. That will be sorted again.
- 17:43Play 2 characters. First time nominee.
- 17:45Love it. Here for him.
- 17:47Next Chase Affinity. I am here for her career
- 17:51honestly, both in fashion and in fashion.
- 17:54She is a fashion icon. I am here for her.
- 17:57Love it. I love her.
- 17:59She's been killed in the press tour, so here for it.
- 18:02Good for her. She's going to.
- 18:03Be on The Handmaid's Tale spin off.
- 18:05Is she? Yeah, she's a lead.
- 18:08Oh, I really need to finish. You do you.
- 18:10Need to hurry up because I'm just like holding my tongue I'm.
- 18:13Sorry, I will catch up, I promise.
- 18:18And then we have Tiana, which you'd had.
- 18:20To choose the one with the ABS I know I.
- 18:22Wanted to take a moment for her ABS because I hate her.
- 18:26She looks so good. Amazing.
- 18:28And the dress she wore to the Critics Choice Award, I know I
- 18:30said it earlier. I really liked it.
- 18:32Really. Yeah.
- 18:32She looked really good in it. I mean she looks good in
- 18:34everything so I mean stop but her.
- 18:35Press story has been really good too with hers, Wayman and
- 18:39Mitchell, I think. Good job, stylist.
- 18:41OK, Next up, please. I don't know where we are.
- 18:45Thank you, Dwayne. Right, we go by his government
- 18:49name. His acting name, huh?
- 18:55Dwayne The Rock Johnson. Mr. Johnson Yep.
- 19:00Yep, he. Got his first nomination.
- 19:02He was almost. Unrecognizable on the character
- 19:04he played, I. Know I saw a still from him and
- 19:07I was like that's actually very impressive.
- 19:08I hope the like cosmetics. Makeup and I hope.
- 19:12They get their flowers because that was actually really
- 19:14impressive, so good for them. Next up, his best friend Kevin
- 19:19Hart. He really is.
- 19:20His best friend, literally. I love.
- 19:22That they got. Nominated in the same year,
- 19:24first time both of them. Oh my God, great.
- 19:26He did it for stand up though, so yeah.
- 19:27For a stand up, I love it. Way to go, Kevin.
- 19:30I know right? And.
- 19:32Then we have this man. I love him.
- 19:35Jamelle. Tillman I love.
- 19:36Him he got. Nominated for severance, right?
- 19:40First time nomination. Good for.
- 19:41Him love it. Cuz I think he won the.
- 19:43Emmy last year. Wait, did he?
- 19:44Really. Yeah, I think.
- 19:45So yeah, he killed it in Severance.
- 19:47He was really, really, he was a stand out sweet.
- 19:51Because I hear good things about that show, like all the time.
- 19:53Anyway, Season. One the way that it ended made
- 19:56my heart want to jump out of my chest.
- 19:58It was one of the most anxiety ridden finales I've ever seen in
- 20:02my life. And for it to be like basically
- 20:04a workplace television show, exactly like.
- 20:07It's all in the same place season.
- 20:08One, they never left the building.
- 20:10It was really good. Good for budget.
- 20:12So good, OK. Last but not least, we have
- 20:16Ashley Walters for adolescents. First time nomination as well.
- 20:20Congratulations. Yes, but we're here for the
- 20:23black folks. I said it.
- 20:27She meant it. There's a lot.
- 20:28Of them first time nominations is crazy for that to.
- 20:32Be all those first time, that's what I'm.
- 20:34Saying crazy, but just real quick, I want to take a time for
- 20:39all of the women LED podcast that got nominated as well.
- 20:43Call of Daddy, Alex Cooper. She's been killing it this year.
- 20:45Like absolutely killing it. She had everybody named Mama up
- 20:49on our show. Really.
- 20:50Everyone okay killed it, love it.
- 20:53Mel Robbins love it. Do your thing, girl.
- 20:56And then good hang Amy Poehler. You know the.
- 20:58Amy Poehler clips that I've seen online have been so great.
- 21:01Seriously, from her show, because I didn't know she had a
- 21:03podcast until recently. Yeah.
- 21:05So I started seeing the clips, and she has such amazing women
- 21:08on there, and she's funny and she draws the funny out of other
- 21:11people. Yeah.
- 21:12So they've been killing it. They deserve their nominations
- 21:15and yeah all. Right.
- 21:17Yeah. So that was good Semi.
- 21:19Goodyear in the Golden Globes. To start it off, all right, for
- 21:27story time this week, I have an am I overreacting?
- 21:30Yes, it is a little bit long, but I chose it because it was
- 21:35really, really interesting and I totally want to hear your
- 21:38thoughts afterwards. OK, I'm.
- 21:39Ready, I mean. All right, am I overreacting?
- 21:43I don't think my boyfriend knows who I am.
- 21:46OK so I don't even know how to start this without sounding like
- 21:49I'm batshit crazy and losing it, but I need to get this out
- 21:52somewhere because I feel like I'm going insane.
- 21:55My boyfriend and I have been together for over a year, we
- 21:58live together. This is someone I should
- 22:00recognize without thinking. A few weeks ago he forgot his
- 22:03phone password, or that's what he told me.
- 22:05His phone locked after a few wrong attempts and he laughed
- 22:08and handed it to me and asked if I could try.
- 22:10I typed it in without hesitating and it unlocked immediately.
- 22:13We joked about it and moved on. I did not think anything of it
- 22:18at the time. Then small things started
- 22:20happening. Nothing dramatic, just wrong.
- 22:23He's always had me saved in his phone as Melissa.
- 22:26It was an inside joke. My name is not Melissa.
- 22:28He never used it seriously. Then one day he called me that
- 22:31just once. No joke.
- 22:33I corrected him and he said sorry.
- 22:35After that, he mostly stopped using my name entirely.
- 22:39I didn't notice at first but now I can't Unsee it.
- 22:41He avoids it. He'll restart sentences or get
- 22:44my attention physically instead of saying my name like he's
- 22:47scared of saying the wrong thing.
- 22:49He also started asking questions that sound caring and
- 22:52thoughtful. Do you still like oat milk or
- 22:54did you switch back? You still hate mushrooms right?
- 22:58You still listen to that podcast?
- 23:00Is he OK? Always still, always checking?
- 23:04At first I thought he was just being attentive, but then I
- 23:06noticed the pauses. If I answer differently than
- 23:09expected, he freezes for half a second.
- 23:11Then he adjusts like he's correcting himself.
- 23:14He's on his phone constantly now, not scrolling, looking old
- 23:17messages, old photos. Sometimes he scrolls all the way
- 23:20back to the start of our relationship.
- 23:22When I asked him what he was doing, he said he was
- 23:24reminiscing, but he doesn't smile.
- 23:27He studies. This is.
- 23:28Creepy. Does he have a twin we don't
- 23:30know about? Here's where.
- 23:32It starts feeling. Genuinely wrong.
- 23:34He started repeating conversations back to me, but
- 23:37not in a normal way. Like I'll tell him something
- 23:40about my day and he'll react normally, laugh, respond, ask
- 23:42questions. Then hours later he'll bring it
- 23:45up and say wait, tell me that part again.
- 23:47When I repeat it, he watches my mouth.
- 23:49Not my eyes, my mouth. Like he's checking timing.
- 23:52Sometimes he nods before I finish the sentence, like he
- 23:55already knows what I'm about to say.
- 23:58Last week we were talking about plans later in the year and he
- 24:00casually said your birthday's before that anyway, right?
- 24:05I said yes and mentioned the date.
- 24:07A few minutes later I saw him typing it into his notes app,
- 24:10not my contact notes. He said he was organizing
- 24:15reminders. That explanation made sense.
- 24:17Everything he says makes sense individually, but that's the
- 24:20problem. Another thing, this is the part
- 24:22I haven't told anyone because it sounds crazy.
- 24:25He started copying me. Not obviously little things, the
- 24:30way I sit, the way I drink water, the way I say certain
- 24:33phrases. Sometimes I'll say something
- 24:35without thinking and later I'll hear him say the exact same
- 24:38sentence out loud, alone, like he's practicing it.
- 24:41He also stopped laughing like he usually does.
- 24:44His laugh doesn't sound the same when his phone isn't near him.
- 24:47He's different, quieter, less confident, like he's missing
- 24:50instructions. When he has it again, it's like
- 24:53he resets. Last night I asked him how we
- 24:55met. He told the story perfectly.
- 24:58Same jokes, same timing. But it felt wrong.
- 25:00Like he wasn't remembering it, like he was reciting it.
- 25:04Later. I checked our old messages.
- 25:06The story matched almost word for word.
- 25:09Seriously. What's wrong with him?
- 25:11That alone shouldn't bother me, but it does now because I
- 25:14realized I didn't hesitate when I unlocked his phone.
- 25:17I knew the password the way you know your own birthday.
- 25:20Ever since then, I can't shake this feeling that his phone is
- 25:22the only place where I exist properly.
- 25:24Like that's where I'm stored. Like without it, he's
- 25:26reconstructing me in real life. So yeah, part of me thinks maybe
- 25:30he doesn't Remember Me. Like actually does not Remember
- 25:33Me. Not in a forgot a detail way,
- 25:35but in a deeper way. Like the memories aren't there
- 25:37and he's trying to rebuild from whatever he still has access to.
- 25:41I keep wondering if it's something medical, a head injury
- 25:43he didn't tell me about, a blackout, something
- 25:46neurological, something he's aware of but trying to manage
- 25:50quietly so he doesn't scare me. That would make sense.
- 25:53That would explain a lot. But then I don't know what to do
- 25:56with the weird parts, the copying, the watching, the way
- 25:58he asked things carefully, like he's afraid of asking the wrong
- 26:01question. Please tell me if I'm
- 26:03overreacting, because I don't feel like I am anymore.
- 26:07I'm concerned. Yeah, exactly.
- 26:10She's. Not overreacting, I'm genuinely
- 26:12concerned. Either he was body snapped and
- 26:17we're living in a sci-fi movie, or he has a medical condition
- 26:21that he just either doesn't know about or isn't telling her I.
- 26:25Chose this to read this one because I read through the
- 26:27comments and almost everybody was like, I had somebody in my
- 26:31life that either changed their personality completely or
- 26:34started losing memories and it's because they had a brain tumor.
- 26:39And so they were telling her to take him to the hospital
- 26:43immediately. And I wanted to read it out
- 26:46there because maybe it's something that somebody was
- 26:49watching, maybe has somebody in their life that's showing little
- 26:52signs of things. And, you know, don't, don't
- 26:55hesitate, like take them to the hospital to get checked out.
- 27:00Because there was another video or something story that I had
- 27:04read before that was similar to this.
- 27:07And before people, the person could come back and do an edit
- 27:10on it, their husband had passed away because they did have a
- 27:14brain tumor. And she waited a little too long
- 27:18to take him to the hospital. So yeah, anybody you know out
- 27:21there who is experiencing anything like this, just take
- 27:23them in. Don't wait.
- 27:25If it's nothing, then hey now you just.
- 27:28Now, you know, but that's genuinely concerning, the fact
- 27:31that he just doesn't know her. But he's trying to hide it and
- 27:35just. Yeah, trying to recall.
- 27:38His memories, I know that's. Scary, actually.
- 27:42It's really. Scary.
- 27:44So sorry to end on a downer, but.
- 27:47Yeah, this show is not the downer.
- 27:49No, but. In a positive note, you can help
- 27:51somebody that you love if maybe you recognize what's going on
- 27:54exactly. Yeah, like, I don't know if
- 27:56y'all remember the last Reddit that we one of the last ones
- 28:02where they wouldn't call an ambulance for their mom, these
- 28:05children, I know all jokes and stuff, but like, call the
- 28:08ambulance, yeah. Please.
- 28:10Call, it's OK. Don't play with people's lives.
- 28:12You know, it's fine, but that's crazy.
- 28:15I know wild now that we're talking about all these things
- 28:19that we're reading, please let us know if y'all are into what
- 28:23we're reading. If you want like crazier more
- 28:25outlandish things like let us know like we want the feedback.
- 28:29Y'all are part of the community now 26.
- 28:31It's going to be. Insane, right?
- 28:33So we. Just we want to.
- 28:35Know and yeah, we love y'all love you.
- 28:38Thank you for tuning in today. Happy New Year's.
- 28:41Peace.
