Lucas: Today, we're finishing a meal at a restaurant. You've eaten, you've enjoyed, now you need to pay. Luna: Oh, the moment of truth. I need to ask for the bill. How do I say that? Lucas: You say: ሂሳቡን እባክህ. That's the bill, please. Luna: ሂሳቡን እባክህ. Say it again slowly? Lucas: ሂሳቡን... እባክህ. The first word is 'bill', the second is 'please'. Luna: ሂሳቡን እባክህ. Got it. And if I want to ask if they take credit cards? Lucas: You say: ክሬዲት ካርድ ትቀበላላችሁ? That means 'Do you accept credit cards?' Luna: ክሬዲት ካርድ ትቀበላላችሁ? That's a mouthful. Break it down? Lucas: Sure: ክሬዲት ካርድ is 'credit card', then ትቀበላላችሁ is 'do you accept?' Luna: ክሬዲት ካርድ ትቀበላላችሁ? OK. And if I'm paying cash? Lucas: You say: ጥሬ ገንዘብ እከፍላለሁ. That's 'I pay cash.' Luna: ጥሬ ገንዘብ እከፍላለሁ.
