- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Almost Famous podcast with her radio Welcome
- 0:05Speaker 1: to Almost Famous The O G s Our first episode,
- 0:09Speaker 1: So Our O G Episode of Being O G S
- 0:12Speaker 1: with Me, Bob Guiney and Trista Sutter, the Queen of
- 0:16Speaker 1: the O G s of the entire Bachelor franchise and
- 0:19Speaker 1: the world in general. Hi, Trista, Oh, Hello, my my
- 0:25Speaker 1: Bachelor Bob, my Bachelor O G. Bob Guinea who um
- 0:30Speaker 1: likes to introduce himself as Guinea like the pig, Guinny
- 0:33Speaker 1: like the pig. Well, you know, it's funny because you know,
- 0:36Speaker 1: you come off a show like The Bachelor, and you know,
- 0:38Speaker 1: I always thought that I was, you know, world famous
- 0:40Speaker 1: long before I was on that show. Unbeknownst to me,
- 0:42Speaker 1: no one knew who I was. So, you know, they
- 0:45Speaker 1: find out your name and it's a weird last name
- 0:47Speaker 1: like mine, you know, g U I N E Y,
- 0:49Speaker 1: and they're always like, how do you pronounce your last name?
- 0:52Speaker 1: And so I would say Guinea and they'd be like,
- 0:54Speaker 1: or is it guiny? So I just took the whole
- 0:56Speaker 1: steam out. I'd be like Guinea, like the pig. So
- 0:59Speaker 1: may we move forward? Maybe we move forward, Let's get
- 1:02Speaker 1: away from Guiny? So any who I digressed, welcome to
- 1:05Speaker 1: our first show. That's right. I'm so excited. I'm so
- 1:09Speaker 1: excited to be kind of reconnecting with you after all
- 1:12Speaker 1: these years. I mean, obviously we've stayed in touch, um
- 1:15Speaker 1: kind of through social media. So thanks to social media
- 1:18Speaker 1: for coming along after we were on TV. But it's
- 1:22Speaker 1: so nice to reconnect. And so how did you I
- 1:25Speaker 1: want to talk about kind of how we got into
- 1:27Speaker 1: the show. I mean, I've talked. I know you have to.
- 1:30Speaker 1: I'm sure I've been asked this a billion times and interviews,
- 1:34Speaker 1: but for anybody knew who's turned tuning in and wants
- 1:37Speaker 1: to kind of hear where we got started. How well,
- 1:40Speaker 1: actually I should probably start with my origin story because
- 1:42Speaker 1: my story leads into your story. Um, okay, So I
- 1:47Speaker 1: was in Miami at the time. I was working as
- 1:51Speaker 1: a pediatric physical therapist, and I was a Miami heat dancer,
- 1:54Speaker 1: and of course when I got on the show, that's
- 1:56Speaker 1: all that they put, you know, Miami heat dancer. I
- 1:58Speaker 1: wasn't a pediatric physical theory this my grad school UM
- 2:01Speaker 1: had no burying on who I was. Anyway, So I
- 2:06Speaker 1: was at home after a busy day at work. I
- 2:08Speaker 1: was watching Extra and I remember um Lacy Pemberton, who
- 2:14Speaker 1: was the casting director at the time. I think she
- 2:16Speaker 1: actually might still work with the show, or did until
- 2:19Speaker 1: very recently. But she was on Extra talking about how
- 2:23Speaker 1: they were doing this new reality show and I had
- 2:25Speaker 1: watched road Rules and Real World UM and loved those shows.
- 2:31Speaker 1: And I was like, huh, you know my ears perked up,
- 2:34Speaker 1: and she was like, well, you well, you'll get to travel,
- 2:37Speaker 1: you'll get to meet people, hopefully find a love connection.
- 2:41Speaker 1: And I didn't really care about the loved Nick connection
- 2:43Speaker 1: at that point. I mean, I was kind of in
- 2:45Speaker 1: a rut at that point in my life and I
- 2:47Speaker 1: wanted something new and exciting. But really the most exciting
- 2:51Speaker 1: part to me was just getting to go out to
- 2:54Speaker 1: l A and and travel and make new friends. So
- 2:58Speaker 1: I ended up applying online, which they still do now
- 3:02Speaker 1: so that hasn't changed, although I know that they go
- 3:05Speaker 1: to they create different events in different cities and try
- 3:08Speaker 1: to get people to eliminate their friends exactly. So I
- 3:13Speaker 1: applied online and then they wrote back and you know, said,
- 3:16Speaker 1: we we like what you sent in, um, just the
- 3:19Speaker 1: basic application. We you send it more. Of course, you
- 3:22Speaker 1: have to send in this like twenty page application and
- 3:24Speaker 1: then a video. And I remember my video being I had, Um,
- 3:29Speaker 1: I didn't do anything fancy. I'm pretty sure you didn't either,
- 3:32Speaker 1: but you can tell that story. So I said, okay,
- 3:36Speaker 1: there you go. Never mind. So, um, I had my laundry,
- 3:43Speaker 1: UM was ironing board, my irony boards set up, and
- 3:46Speaker 1: back in the day, you didn't have cameras on your phones.
- 3:49Speaker 1: I had a video camera that I set up on
- 3:52Speaker 1: my laundry, my ironing board and just said, hey, I'm
- 3:55Speaker 1: Trisdren and this is what I look for in a guy.
- 3:58Speaker 1: I think it'd be really fun to be on the show.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Blah blah blah. It was so basic, so basic, so nothing.
- 4:05Speaker 1: And then they set me out to l A and
- 4:07Speaker 1: I met Um. I call him Mr Big because my
- 4:10Speaker 1: CLIs is a very big personality, and he said you're
- 4:15Speaker 1: my star, and um he put me on the first
- 4:18Speaker 1: season of The Bachelor, and the rest is history. I mean, yeah,
- 4:22Speaker 1: I guess the history is I was the runner up
- 4:25Speaker 1: on The Bachelor, and then they asked me to be
- 4:27Speaker 1: the bachelorette. So there, So now leading into your story,
- 4:31Speaker 1: how did you get started on the show. Yeah, Well,
- 4:34Speaker 1: first of all, I love that story. And I think that,
- 4:37Speaker 1: you know, thank god you were the runner up, because
- 4:39Speaker 1: had you been the final choice of that show, the
- 4:43Speaker 1: world would be a different place for both of us.
- 4:45Speaker 1: I think, you know, no, you think you know. I mean,
- 4:49Speaker 1: my children wouldn't exist exactly. Isn't that weird? Just like
- 4:52Speaker 1: butterfly effect type of thing. I love those kind of movies,
- 4:55Speaker 1: like The Sliding Doors, same same, yeah. So I you know, Um,
- 5:00Speaker 1: I was a touring musician, signed a record deal right
- 5:03Speaker 1: out of college play football college and um and it
- 5:06Speaker 1: was a touring musician. And I decided at one point,
- 5:09Speaker 1: I'm like, man, we were touring actually with Matchbox twenty.
- 5:12Speaker 1: We were the opener, and I came to the realization
- 5:14Speaker 1: that we were not going to be journey like I
- 5:16Speaker 1: thought we were. I thought we were a journey at
- 5:18Speaker 1: the time. And I'm like, this isn't working out. You know,
- 5:21Speaker 1: I'm like almost twenty, I'm twenty nine. What's going on
- 5:24Speaker 1: in my life? You know? So I wrote some songs
- 5:27Speaker 1: for a movie called The Truth About Cats and Dogs,
- 5:29Speaker 1: which had Janine Garoffalo and Uma Thurman in it. And
- 5:32Speaker 1: I got this publishing advance, and I bought a mortgage company,
- 5:35Speaker 1: or bought into mortgage company partnership with another guy. But
- 5:39Speaker 1: to be fair, it's not like what you think of
- 5:41Speaker 1: the mortgage companies today. This was like a franchise type
- 5:44Speaker 1: of mortgage companies. So essentially I was the mortgage burger
- 5:48Speaker 1: king guy, right, so you know that. It was like
- 5:51Speaker 1: there was like several throughout the country. I only owned
- 5:53Speaker 1: one anything. Um, it was not what I liked, that
- 5:57Speaker 1: was not passionate about it. I wasn't having fun. But
- 6:00Speaker 1: I hired a great team around me, and that team, um,
- 6:03Speaker 1: they basically uh submitted my information to the Bachelor without
- 6:07Speaker 1: me knowing it. And um, I was actually oddly enough,
- 6:11Speaker 1: I had just had reconstructive knee surgery and then I
- 6:14Speaker 1: had I blew my achilles out right before uh they
- 6:18Speaker 1: called me. And so I'm crutching around the office. I
- 6:20Speaker 1: get a call from Lacey Pemberton and I think, you
- 6:23Speaker 1: know this part of the story, but I have no
- 6:25Speaker 1: idea how my phone rings, but it's you know, Lacey Pemberton,
- 6:28Speaker 1: and she's like, Hi, yes, this Bob Bob Guinea And
- 6:32Speaker 1: that's how her voice sounded in my head. Anyway, By
- 6:34Speaker 1: the way, I use that same voice when I impersonate
- 6:36Speaker 1: my wife um, but it's like, you know, yes, I
- 6:39Speaker 1: really do. She's like, why did your voice go down
- 6:41Speaker 1: when you impersonate me. I'm like I don't know, but
- 6:44Speaker 1: it's like, you know, hi, this is lazy and I'm like, oh,
- 6:46Speaker 1: I'm sure it is Lacy if that's your real name,
- 6:49Speaker 1: and that's exactly my response, and um, I just think
- 6:52Speaker 1: it's someone messing with me, you know. So I crutch
- 6:54Speaker 1: around the office to see who's giggling, and nobody's getting on.
- 6:57Speaker 1: I'm like, wow, these guys are good, you know. So
- 6:59Speaker 1: I had up having this long conversation with her and
- 7:02Speaker 1: I just basically said, you know, um. She goes, well,
- 7:04Speaker 1: we know we'd like you to make do you know
- 7:06Speaker 1: have you watched the show? And I said, I haven't
- 7:07Speaker 1: really watched it. I do I know of it, And
- 7:09Speaker 1: she's like, have you do you know who Trista is
- 7:12Speaker 1: because you were the first time up until that point,
- 7:16Speaker 1: I mean, you were the first bachelor at obviously, but
- 7:17Speaker 1: they let us know who it was that was gonna
- 7:19Speaker 1: be the Beschel and then yeah, and then I was
- 7:23Speaker 1: the first bachelor that everyone knew who I was before,
- 7:26Speaker 1: Like they knew it was going to be me before
- 7:28Speaker 1: they even cast the show, right, And so I'm like,
- 7:31Speaker 1: you know know what you know? I I do know her,
- 7:33Speaker 1: you know. She's like, what do you think. I'm Michael,
- 7:35Speaker 1: She's very beautiful. And she goes, well, we need you
- 7:37Speaker 1: to do a video submission as to why you think
- 7:40Speaker 1: Trista should pick you. And I said, yeah, and I'm
- 7:42Speaker 1: not doing that, and she goes, what I know and
- 7:45Speaker 1: I know I'm not gonna be the fact guy in
- 7:46Speaker 1: your blooper. Real thanks, I'm like, uh, I put on
- 7:49Speaker 1: like twenty five pounds in the last six months with
- 7:51Speaker 1: a couple of legs surgeries. I'm like, I'm good, you know,
- 7:54Speaker 1: thank you. Though I have a lovely day. I'm sure
- 7:55Speaker 1: it's gonna be a wonderful show. I can't wait to watch.
- 7:57Speaker 1: So about a week goes by, she called me back.
- 8:01Speaker 1: She's like, I can't get you off my mind. I
- 8:02Speaker 1: need to meet you. I'm gonna fax you over a
- 8:05Speaker 1: thing to fill out that will yeah, and it's like
- 8:08Speaker 1: a thermal paper like the you know. So I fill
- 8:11Speaker 1: out this form, they fly me onto l a um,
- 8:15Speaker 1: it's much like you. I was kind of like, oh
- 8:16Speaker 1: my god, this is crazy and ended up. I ended
- 8:20Speaker 1: up actually so the interview process. You know, they want
- 8:23Speaker 1: you to have a suit and tie, and I have one.
- 8:25Speaker 1: It's in it's in my hotel room. But I'm in
- 8:28Speaker 1: the hot tub, hanging out, meeting girls, singing Journey songs
- 8:30Speaker 1: at the top of my lungs, and uh, that's when
- 8:33Speaker 1: they they pulled me out of the pool and they're basically, hey, idiot,
- 8:36Speaker 1: come here, we're gonna interview you right now. So I'm
- 8:38Speaker 1: in a shorts and a T shirt. Yeah for a
- 8:41Speaker 1: shirt and the T shirt. I get interviewed by Sally
- 8:43Speaker 1: and Selsano, who of course went on to such great
- 8:45Speaker 1: things as Tina Tequila and Jersey Shore and many many more. Um.
- 8:50Speaker 1: But she interviews me and we just cracked up for
- 8:52Speaker 1: about an hour and a half and there, and at
- 8:54Speaker 1: the end of it, they're like, well, you know, have
- 8:56Speaker 1: you have you put any thought into what you're gonna
- 8:58Speaker 1: say to Trista And I'm like, no, I you know,
- 9:00Speaker 1: I guess you guys let me know if I should
- 9:01Speaker 1: have to think about that, and they think about it,
- 9:03Speaker 1: You're gonna meet her. And it was like, that's how
- 9:05Speaker 1: I got cast on the show. Yeah, pretty crazy, that's amazing.
- 9:10Speaker 1: I love that story. Such a good story. I mean,
- 9:13Speaker 1: it's crazy that it's been so long. It feels like
- 9:16Speaker 1: to me another lifetime, you know, it really does, especially
- 9:21Speaker 1: when we do interviews for anybody and they're kind of
- 9:23Speaker 1: few and far between, you know now, But if we
- 9:26Speaker 1: do any interviews, it's like, oh, yeah, that was our life,
- 9:29Speaker 1: that's how we met. I know, it was crazy. I
- 9:31Speaker 1: remember the first night when I was so I so
- 9:34Speaker 1: I get cast on the show and they put us
- 9:36Speaker 1: up in uh, I think it's a shared in Universal.
- 9:38Speaker 1: I think that's where we were. There were different hotels
- 9:41Speaker 1: because Ryan was at the Lodge something. What was it
- 9:45Speaker 1: called Sportsman's Lodge? That was it? Yeah, that was that
- 9:50Speaker 1: was where they put me for the interview process. But
- 9:53Speaker 1: when when we came up for the show, and that's
- 9:56Speaker 1: why I thought, I was like, and that's what we
- 9:57Speaker 1: used to film the show Blind Date. Do you remember
- 9:59Speaker 1: that show where like a little oh my gosh, of
- 10:01Speaker 1: course and that place was sketch at best. Yeah. So
- 10:05Speaker 1: I remember I remember checking into that place on the interview,
- 10:08Speaker 1: going does this show even have a budget? Like one
- 10:10Speaker 1: is going on here? Not back then, not at all.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Not I think I called you a budget. But yes,
- 10:15Speaker 1: at the Shart Universal. When the car picked me up,
- 10:17Speaker 1: I was like, well, I guess I'll probably be back
- 10:21Speaker 1: tonight because I remember thinking to myself, there's no way,
- 10:23Speaker 1: you know, all these dudes are and you know, I remember,
- 10:26Speaker 1: I remember the pictures of the guys and everybody's like,
- 10:28Speaker 1: you know, buff and flexing, and I had never been
- 10:31Speaker 1: fatter in my life, and I'm like, well, I'll definitely
- 10:33Speaker 1: be coming home tonight. So I did it shows how
- 10:38Speaker 1: wonderful your taste is, my friend? Oh yes, of course.
- 10:41Speaker 1: And I remember you doing the Irish jig at the pars. Yeah,
- 10:44Speaker 1: you know that that usually happens when I have a
- 10:46Speaker 1: few cocktails, and I was, who have any cocktails that night? God? Well,
- 10:51Speaker 1: that was the old school version of the show, right
- 10:53Speaker 1: where it was basically like everyone shows up, we have
- 10:57Speaker 1: little finger appetizers that no one's really supposed to eat,
- 11:00Speaker 1: and then we just keep filling you with booze. And
- 11:02Speaker 1: that was, by the way, they still do that. That
- 11:06Speaker 1: is not old. That is still happening to Oh my gosh. Yeah,
- 11:10Speaker 1: that was so fun. And I remember I remember following,
- 11:13Speaker 1: so you know, I was one of the I was
- 11:14Speaker 1: the first limo and I remember, you know, so I
- 11:17Speaker 1: was there hanging out for quite some time, and that
- 11:18Speaker 1: takes as you know, more than anyone what the processes there.
- 11:22Speaker 1: And I had a I had a lot of fun
- 11:24Speaker 1: in there by myself, you know. Then was like my
- 11:27Speaker 1: little limo of guys and was Ryan and the limo
- 11:29Speaker 1: with you. I think Ryan was, Yeah, Ryan was Jamie
- 11:32Speaker 1: blythe was um, myself, I mean, you know. And so
- 11:37Speaker 1: we're all in there hanging out and got our limo,
- 11:39Speaker 1: got along great, like we were all like buddies. And
- 11:43Speaker 1: that was the thing about that show too, which I
- 11:44Speaker 1: thought was so great, was you know, um it was
- 11:47Speaker 1: obviously long before social media and long before people knew
- 11:51Speaker 1: that they were going to be kind of uh you know,
- 11:55Speaker 1: uh portrayed in a certain way, I guess the best
- 11:57Speaker 1: way to put it. We were buddies. I mean that
- 12:00Speaker 1: show was like we were like I mean, I remember thinking, God,
- 12:03Speaker 1: I love these guys. And it wasn't like a bromance.
- 12:06Speaker 1: It was like we are genuinely going to be friends.
- 12:08Speaker 1: And so many of us still are to this day,
- 12:11Speaker 1: you know. And it was never like a caddy thing
- 12:13Speaker 1: with the majority of us, there was you know, there
- 12:15Speaker 1: was a coarse The exception in that house, I believe,
- 12:19Speaker 1: you know, poor Russ, poor Russ got the got the
- 12:21Speaker 1: shoe the short of the stick on that one. But
- 12:23Speaker 1: you know, everybody else got along great and was very
- 12:26Speaker 1: and even to that end, I think even Russ was
- 12:28Speaker 1: was a nice guy and was very social. You know,
- 12:31Speaker 1: he was just he was just there with a purpose,
- 12:33Speaker 1: you know, and well he came with the Tiffany bracelet
- 12:37Speaker 1: and all of you were like, oh yeah, yeah exactly,
- 12:42Speaker 1: like how dare you bring a Tiffany bracelet? And and
- 12:45Speaker 1: like what do you call it? One? Up me? You know?
- 12:49Speaker 1: Now you know who knows? Now he would have rode
- 12:51Speaker 1: in on a horse or done something else that, you know,
- 12:53Speaker 1: spectacular as they do these days. The rest of us
- 12:55Speaker 1: just got out of the car and we're like, Hi,
- 12:57Speaker 1: oh my god, you're beautiful hard exactly. It was like
- 13:02Speaker 1: dear in headlines. He didn't even remember his name. I know.
- 13:05Speaker 1: It was so fun, But I remember that whole experience
- 13:08Speaker 1: so well, it was like it was yesterday. Is that
- 13:20Speaker 1: how you remember it with Alex Michelle too. You know,
- 13:24Speaker 1: it's really hard for me to remember back that far,
- 13:27Speaker 1: but but but I do remember it being like, uh,
- 13:32Speaker 1: you know, kind of a crazy. It was. It was
- 13:35Speaker 1: not kind of it was a crazy situation that I
- 13:37Speaker 1: had never been in before. I hadn't you know, I
- 13:40Speaker 1: had done some things with local TV for the Miami Heat,
- 13:45Speaker 1: but nothing on this scale. And so yeah, you get
- 13:49Speaker 1: out of the limo and walk up and and there's
- 13:52Speaker 1: and at that point in time, they weren't very quiet
- 13:55Speaker 1: about the cameras being in your face. Like now, I
- 13:57Speaker 1: feel like they do a really good job probably And
- 14:00Speaker 1: I haven't been there to see filming, um really in
- 14:05Speaker 1: recent years, but I would assume that they're really good
- 14:08Speaker 1: about kind of keeping it hidden so that you don't
- 14:12Speaker 1: know they're there. You know, that plays too more of
- 14:14Speaker 1: you being able to be yourself and and act naturally.
- 14:18Speaker 1: So I don't remember them being very quiet about it.
- 14:22Speaker 1: You know, they were just all gawky. You know, all
- 14:24Speaker 1: the cameramen call gawky around you and um, and yeah,
- 14:30Speaker 1: it was crazy. I did say, like a couple of
- 14:33Speaker 1: minutes ago that they didn't tell me who it was,
- 14:36Speaker 1: but that's not true. They showed us pictures of Alex
- 14:40Speaker 1: and they they showed us like kind of like told
- 14:42Speaker 1: us about who he was. That he went to Harvard.
- 14:46Speaker 1: I think Harvard or Stanford one of those, and you
- 14:49Speaker 1: know he had traveled and YadA, YadA, YadA, um and
- 14:53Speaker 1: so on paper he looked great. And then you know,
- 14:56Speaker 1: I ended up developing u a connection with him that
- 15:01Speaker 1: was kind of shocking to me because I really honestly
- 15:05Speaker 1: didn't I was very skeptical that it could happen. I mean, please,
- 15:09Speaker 1: at this point in time in in the world of
- 15:12Speaker 1: reality television, it was, um, Mike had done a show
- 15:17Speaker 1: called Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire? Right, so he
- 15:22Speaker 1: exactly Darva Conger and this guy was supposedly a millionaire,
- 15:28Speaker 1: but they found out afterwards that he really wasn't like,
- 15:31Speaker 1: he wasn't very successful. Um. So, all these ladies are
- 15:35Speaker 1: there on on a stage I think with maybe an audience,
- 15:41Speaker 1: um maybe not an audience, I don't remember, but anywhere
- 15:44Speaker 1: there there were all these ladies and this guy and
- 15:48Speaker 1: and they basically got married after meeting him that day.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Um Darva married this guy. I can't even remember what
- 15:56Speaker 1: his name was. So it was that show and it
- 15:59Speaker 1: develop up into the Bachelor, and he thought, let's let's
- 16:02Speaker 1: do this like not on a stage, but over a
- 16:07Speaker 1: specific period of time and take away their phones and
- 16:10Speaker 1: their computers and all their connections to the outside world
- 16:15Speaker 1: and see if we can make something happen. And so
- 16:18Speaker 1: at that point in time, I was super skeptical and
- 16:20Speaker 1: I just thought, I just I'm there for fun, Like
- 16:24Speaker 1: I just I just want to meet these girls and
- 16:27Speaker 1: hang out with this guy, and maybe, you know, I'll
- 16:29Speaker 1: show them who I am and be true to myself
- 16:33Speaker 1: and then if we developed something, then great. And it
- 16:36Speaker 1: ended up happening to where we actually forged a strong connection.
- 16:40Speaker 1: And then in the end, I actually um asked him.
- 16:45Speaker 1: I think two days before the final Rods ceremony, we
- 16:47Speaker 1: were on our final date, and I said, so, who
- 16:50Speaker 1: are you going to pick? Like totally put him on
- 16:52Speaker 1: the spot, and of course he said you Like He's like,
- 16:54Speaker 1: oh you of course, of course duh um. But I
- 16:58Speaker 1: went into the Final Rods ceremony completely thinking that I
- 17:01Speaker 1: was going to be getting engaged that day, and then,
- 17:05Speaker 1: thank the Lord above, I was not his chosen one.
- 17:10Speaker 1: And as I was watching the finale of the show, um,
- 17:15Speaker 1: you know, a few months later, Flice calls me and
- 17:18Speaker 1: he's like, Hey, would you ever consider being the bachelorette?
- 17:20Speaker 1: And yes, for sure, because at that point in time,
- 17:24Speaker 1: you know, you get to know the producers so well.
- 17:27Speaker 1: You spoke about Sally and Salsano, she was on my season.
- 17:30Speaker 1: We had a great connection, Jason Carbone, Lisa Levinson, Mike Flice,
- 17:34Speaker 1: all of them and your handlers and all of that.
- 17:38Speaker 1: You you become really bonded with these people. I mean,
- 17:40Speaker 1: you show so much time with them and really your
- 17:43Speaker 1: deepest darkest thoughts, you know, um deepest lightest thoughts, however
- 17:47Speaker 1: you want to say that, and you know, you get
- 17:50Speaker 1: really close with them. So I I became really close
- 17:53Speaker 1: with them, and I thought, you've got ABC, a major
- 17:57Speaker 1: television network, scouring the country for guys that I would
- 18:01Speaker 1: never be able to meet on my phone. And that
- 18:05Speaker 1: was just my thought. And thank god it was you,
- 18:09Speaker 1: you guys, because I don't know if I could have
- 18:12Speaker 1: dealt like there's so much drama these days. I don't
- 18:14Speaker 1: know if I could have dealt with that, like you
- 18:16Speaker 1: guys had to the point where I remember showing up
- 18:19Speaker 1: for a date and I feel like whoever was coming
- 18:23Speaker 1: on the date, I don't know if it was a
- 18:24Speaker 1: group date or what the guy and you guys were
- 18:26Speaker 1: I'm sure you were joking, and I say you I
- 18:28Speaker 1: don't know if you were particularly on this date or
- 18:30Speaker 1: on this particular date, but they wanted to stay home
- 18:34Speaker 1: and like hang out with each other instead of come
- 18:36Speaker 1: on the date. I think I know what you're talking about.
- 18:40Speaker 1: So I remember you showing up to pick someone up
- 18:43Speaker 1: for a date. And Jamie Blythe and I were playing
- 18:46Speaker 1: basketball down on the on the basketball court, and I
- 18:48Speaker 1: remember this vividly, and all of a sudden, I see
- 18:51Speaker 1: cameras like shuffling, like you said, they were not stelf
- 18:54Speaker 1: like they are now. That was just like, you know,
- 18:56Speaker 1: and here they come out of the basketball cart and
- 18:59Speaker 1: I'm like, something's up, you know, and like I think
- 19:01Speaker 1: we might be in trouble. But we were shootings and
- 19:03Speaker 1: Jamie was an amazing basketball player, and I love to
- 19:05Speaker 1: play basketball, and all of a sudden, there you are,
- 19:07Speaker 1: and you look beautiful. I remember, you know, you're like
- 19:09Speaker 1: standing up on the balcony and you look down you
- 19:11Speaker 1: go hey fellas, and we're like, oh hey, try still,
- 19:14Speaker 1: what's up? And you're like, aren't you gonna, you know,
- 19:18Speaker 1: come on up here and and say hello. And we're like, well,
- 19:21Speaker 1: you're you're going on some other dass. I mean, we're
- 19:24Speaker 1: playing up and I remember that, and I remember you
- 19:27Speaker 1: leave for the date, and I remember they come down
- 19:29Speaker 1: and the producers come down there, like hey, idiot, like
- 19:31Speaker 1: what are you doing? And I'm like what, Like, you know,
- 19:34Speaker 1: she's here, you should be up there, you know, getting
- 19:36Speaker 1: some face time with And I'm like, dude, I'm sweating
- 19:38Speaker 1: my ass off. She's she's going on a date with
- 19:41Speaker 1: you know, five dudes. I wasn't one of the ones
- 19:43Speaker 1: she picked for this day, and I don't know what
- 19:44Speaker 1: I'm supposed to be. And it was so funny because
- 19:47Speaker 1: I would have never thought that that was what I
- 19:48Speaker 1: was supposed to do. But now when you watch the show,
- 19:50Speaker 1: you do notice they're all gathered around, you know, the
- 19:54Speaker 1: bachelord of the bachelor coming and they're like, hey, have
- 19:55Speaker 1: a great night, you guys. You know, we'll see you
- 19:57Speaker 1: later or whatever. They tell you you're gonna sit here
- 20:01Speaker 1: on the couch, and you're gonna sit here on the couch, sonny.
- 20:04Speaker 1: Oh no, it's very I I feel like that part
- 20:07Speaker 1: of it can be very produced, like you know, who's
- 20:10Speaker 1: where and what are they talking about, or at least
- 20:13Speaker 1: what's the start starting conversation? That is so funny. I mean,
- 20:17Speaker 1: I didn't mean to call you out, but I love it.
- 20:20Speaker 1: I love that stuff. I remember. I remember so many
- 20:23Speaker 1: fun like little moments like that and then and it
- 20:25Speaker 1: is kind of interesting and I'm sure, I'm sure we
- 20:26Speaker 1: can get into it too. But how much the experience
- 20:28Speaker 1: probably changed from your time on The Bachelor too, when
- 20:31Speaker 1: you were the bachelorette, other than being the lead. It's like,
- 20:34Speaker 1: you know, I remember saying to the producers at one point,
- 20:36Speaker 1: I was like, look, I understand you guys are shooting
- 20:39Speaker 1: a TV show, just don't let the joke beyond me,
- 20:41Speaker 1: Like tell me what you want me to do. And
- 20:43Speaker 1: I get it. And so they would literally be like, okay, Bob,
- 20:46Speaker 1: Debbie and Brenda hate Randa, so we're gonna sit them
- 20:49Speaker 1: on a couch together, and we want you to come
- 20:51Speaker 1: and grab Randa and take her out on the verandah
- 20:54Speaker 1: and you know, kiss her. I'm like, okay, yeah, all right.
- 20:59Speaker 1: So you know, here they are, you know, very uncomfortably
- 21:03Speaker 1: and awkwardly like ready to kill each other and like,
- 21:05Speaker 1: pardon me, Rondnick and I steal you for a second.
- 21:07Speaker 1: And then you know, you sit in the thing and
- 21:09Speaker 1: you look up when the girls are looking at you,
- 21:11Speaker 1: and you can see their filming them, and you know,
- 21:13Speaker 1: I'm it's like, so, how's your day and we're gonna kiss,
- 21:16Speaker 1: you know, just oh they do that nowadays, that's for sure,
- 21:25Speaker 1: but I feel like when it was my season, it
- 21:28Speaker 1: was really kind of hard. So going from the Bachelor
- 21:31Speaker 1: to where there's a guy and twenty five girls, right,
- 21:34Speaker 1: and the guy looks all manly and studley. He's got
- 21:37Speaker 1: all these women fighting for him, and then cut to
- 21:40Speaker 1: the Bachelorette and the media starts rolling out about how
- 21:45Speaker 1: I'm going to be the bachelorette, and I remember I
- 21:47Speaker 1: got cut to shreds before the seat he hasn't even
- 21:50Speaker 1: started because by particular people, I mean not by everybody.
- 21:53Speaker 1: And there were a lot of supportive people in the media,
- 21:55Speaker 1: but there were a lot of people that were like,
- 21:58Speaker 1: a girl and twenty five guy is like, how is
- 22:01Speaker 1: that going to look? She is going to look like
- 22:02Speaker 1: a complete slut, And and they pinned that to me
- 22:07Speaker 1: before I even even showed up. It was horrible, Like
- 22:11Speaker 1: the double standard was very much alive back in the day,
- 22:15Speaker 1: and I feel like now and that's why going into it,
- 22:20Speaker 1: because the media had come out before I obviously started
- 22:23Speaker 1: taping the show. We've we've laughed about this moment a
- 22:27Speaker 1: lot in that there were moments where I mean, I
- 22:30Speaker 1: kissed four guys, four guys on my season, and I
- 22:34Speaker 1: was very thoughtful about it because I was like, people
- 22:39Speaker 1: already think I'm going to look like a slut, so
- 22:41Speaker 1: I better make sure that I don't look like a slut,
- 22:43Speaker 1: so you know. And and so the funny thing that
- 22:48Speaker 1: we've laughed about is the part with Jamie Blythe and
- 22:50Speaker 1: the we went on we went on a what do
- 22:53Speaker 1: you call the crab? Well, you tell the story, actually,
- 22:56Speaker 1: because you're way better at it. It is one of
- 22:58Speaker 1: my favorite stories. And I tell this story kind of
- 23:00Speaker 1: a lot. But so, yeah, we're on a group date. Uh,
- 23:02Speaker 1: and Trista of course is there, and we go to
- 23:05Speaker 1: the beach. Of course you're there at your show. We
- 23:07Speaker 1: go to the beach. And I remember two specific things
- 23:11Speaker 1: about that season. One, I remember, um, and this is
- 23:15Speaker 1: a sad thing to remember, but I remember you you
- 23:18Speaker 1: had a friend who got injured or or lost your
- 23:20Speaker 1: lives in my cousin in a go karting accident or
- 23:23Speaker 1: something like that. And one of our dates was on
- 23:24Speaker 1: go carts and you were just like what he died.
- 23:27Speaker 1: He died in a go karting accident. And so I
- 23:29Speaker 1: got there and I was like boo hooing, like yeah,
- 23:32Speaker 1: this is not okay, I can't do this. And I
- 23:35Speaker 1: ended up doing it, but yeah, it was not a
- 23:39Speaker 1: great play. They can't seem to plan some of these
- 23:42Speaker 1: dates as well as they could have. And the other
- 23:43Speaker 1: one U was and I had one of these on
- 23:46Speaker 1: my season two, but was that you don't like shellfish.
- 23:49Speaker 1: And this particular date that we were on, this group
- 23:51Speaker 1: date that we were on, five guys in the limo
- 23:53Speaker 1: with Trista and we're out on the beach and it's like,
- 23:56Speaker 1: you know, as as as they always do trias, like
- 24:00Speaker 1: look what I prepared for us, and it's like a
- 24:02Speaker 1: clam bank buried in the sand. You know, it's like
- 24:04Speaker 1: steaming me. And and the look on your face was like,
- 24:07Speaker 1: you know, I'll be having some chicken nuggets, you know.
- 24:10Speaker 1: And anyway, the producers come at that point in time,
- 24:13Speaker 1: they didn't They didn't feed you before you ate on
- 24:17Speaker 1: the show, while you until you did. Yeah, you really did,
- 24:19Speaker 1: like that was your time to eat because you sure us,
- 24:21Speaker 1: I'll work gonna get anything before after and it was
- 24:23Speaker 1: gonna be balanced with a heavy, you know, a heavy
- 24:26Speaker 1: balanced diet of booze. So I remember that. When of
- 24:29Speaker 1: the producers comes over me, he's like, hey, Bob, um,
- 24:32Speaker 1: listen man. So you know, Trista is wondering why you
- 24:35Speaker 1: haven't tried to kiss her and uh, and I'm like really,
- 24:39Speaker 1: he goes, yeah, I go. So she walked up to
- 24:41Speaker 1: you and just randomly said, God, I just don't know
- 24:43Speaker 1: why Bob hasn't tried to kiss me. He's like, yeah,
- 24:47Speaker 1: you realize it's the first date I've been on with her, right,
- 24:49Speaker 1: like this is my first day. And he's like, yeah, yeah,
- 24:52Speaker 1: I realized that, and she's she realizes it too, buddy,
- 24:54Speaker 1: and I'm like, okay, so you're telling me that Trista
- 24:57Speaker 1: walked up to you and was like, gosh, I'm on
- 24:58Speaker 1: a group date with five of random dudes on a
- 25:01Speaker 1: beach and I really want Bob to try to make
- 25:04Speaker 1: out with me. That's what That's what she told you.
- 25:05Speaker 1: And he's like absolutely, and he hands me like two
- 25:08Speaker 1: coronas and I go, awesome, I'll drink these because I'm
- 25:11Speaker 1: not going out there. I'm not trying to make out
- 25:12Speaker 1: with her. And he's like, I'm like, yeah, dude, I'm
- 25:14Speaker 1: not doing that. I'm like, are you kidding me? I'm like,
- 25:16Speaker 1: first of all, she never said that to you. Secondly,
- 25:18Speaker 1: what I'm like, I'm gonna go out there and like
- 25:19Speaker 1: just randomly lean in. I'm like, and we haven't even talked,
- 25:22Speaker 1: like no, you know, other than the first night at
- 25:24Speaker 1: the mansion. So anyway, I go, I walk away, and
- 25:27Speaker 1: I come back and I'm like, you know, and I
- 25:29Speaker 1: thought of something else. I'm like, hey, you know what
- 25:31Speaker 1: I will do. I'll go out and hang with her,
- 25:33Speaker 1: you know, I just don't don't expect me to try
- 25:35Speaker 1: and make out with her. So I go to tell
- 25:36Speaker 1: him this, and he's like, no, look, look and I look,
- 25:40Speaker 1: and there's Jamie, poor Jamie on the beach. Literally. As
- 25:43Speaker 1: I look, he's like leaning in and you give him
- 25:45Speaker 1: the tombs still, you give them hivesman, You're like, nope, no,
- 25:48Speaker 1: what are you doing? And I remember just laughing hysterically
- 25:52Speaker 1: from where I was my little vantage point, you know,
- 25:55Speaker 1: thinking of course Jamie would do it, you know. Yeah,
- 25:59Speaker 1: I even little gulble. Oh my god, it was so
- 26:04Speaker 1: but yeah, no, I remember that. I remember James. I mean,
- 26:08Speaker 1: I don't remember. I don't know the backstory, of course,
- 26:10Speaker 1: but um, but I remember Jamie coming up to me
- 26:14Speaker 1: and saying, hey, you know, would you mind if I
- 26:16Speaker 1: gave you a kiss? And it was really sweet of him.
- 26:19Speaker 1: He was being a total gentleman to even ask. But
- 26:23Speaker 1: but I was like, yeah, maybe just down the cheek.
- 26:26Speaker 1: I mean, that actually is super embarrassing to me that
- 26:29Speaker 1: I was like, maybe on the cheek. I just hate
- 26:31Speaker 1: being put in that kind of situation. It's so weird.
- 26:37Speaker 1: I mean I didn't know him at all, and I
- 26:40Speaker 1: really was like, and now they're like, oh, yeah, we
- 26:43Speaker 1: just met, let's kiss, or some of the girls or
- 26:46Speaker 1: guys get out of the limo and plant one right
- 26:49Speaker 1: on the Bachelor of the Bachelorette, like right out the gate.
- 26:52Speaker 1: And I just I guess I was even though I got, um,
- 26:56Speaker 1: I met my husband and got engaged on a reality show,
- 26:59Speaker 1: I am more traditional in that sense. And there, you know,
- 27:02Speaker 1: give me a little bit more time before I'm making
- 27:05Speaker 1: out with you. I know, Well, let's okay, so let's
- 27:07Speaker 1: talk about the differences between our time and the time. Now.
- 27:11Speaker 1: I think that was a big one that you just said. Right,
- 27:12Speaker 1: they they're going for it right out of the gates,
- 27:14Speaker 1: whereas we were I think a little. I mean I
- 27:17Speaker 1: was the kissing bandit, bachelor, I bandit. Yeah, he's got
- 27:21Speaker 1: he's got a title, you guys. Actually, I think he's
- 27:23Speaker 1: probably got a plaque in his house somewhere. I do somewhere. Yeah,
- 27:26Speaker 1: it's in the kids, whom I keep it right in
- 27:28Speaker 1: the nursery, you know. But yeah, so I remember, you know,
- 27:32Speaker 1: I was the guy that was like the kissing bandit.
- 27:34Speaker 1: But that but now knowing how the show works and
- 27:36Speaker 1: knowing how they approached me to kiss you, you know,
- 27:39Speaker 1: I I at the time, I remember thinking, oh my god,
- 27:41Speaker 1: all these girls are just like trying to kiss me.
- 27:43Speaker 1: I mean, this is so crazy, and you know, realizing
- 27:46Speaker 1: it now that it was kind of like the producer's going, you,
- 27:48Speaker 1: Bob really would like to kiss you should go out
- 27:50Speaker 1: to Yeah, I'm positive that was the case. But you know,
- 27:54Speaker 1: other than that, and it's part of it's part of
- 27:56Speaker 1: the way the show is. Like I feel like the
- 27:59Speaker 1: people on the show feel like they are falling behind
- 28:03Speaker 1: if they don't kiss them exactly the gate, you know. Yeah,
- 28:07Speaker 1: I mean you watch the pretty religiously right, you see.
- 28:10Speaker 1: You you've seen pretty much every season because you get
- 28:13Speaker 1: asked about it all the time. And I used to
- 28:15Speaker 1: too when I was doing the Today Show stuff. I
- 28:16Speaker 1: would get asked about it all the time, and so
- 28:18Speaker 1: I was a little more militant about watching it. But
- 28:20Speaker 1: I remember thinking to myself that everybody was more aggressive,
- 28:23Speaker 1: everybody was more you know, not just from the kissing perspective,
- 28:27Speaker 1: but you know, I see myself, you know, marrying you,
- 28:30Speaker 1: and it's like you just you know, so I always
- 28:33Speaker 1: think of that, you know, So it seems a little
- 28:35Speaker 1: bit more. The steaks are a lot higher. It seems.
- 28:47Speaker 1: I have watched every season of every show, every spin off, whatever,
- 28:52Speaker 1: just because it kind of it's kind of like my family.
- 28:55Speaker 1: I feel like I've said this, um, I've said this
- 28:59Speaker 1: for but I feel very maternal towards everyone in a
- 29:02Speaker 1: way because they call me the fairy godmother, you know,
- 29:07Speaker 1: so they're like my little god babies. Anyone who's really
- 29:11Speaker 1: been on the show, even though I don't know even
- 29:13Speaker 1: half of the cast, m but I mean, there's been
- 29:16Speaker 1: a lot of people over the years. In fact, I
- 29:18Speaker 1: would love to know that number. How many people have
- 29:21Speaker 1: been on the show, you know what I mean? How
- 29:24Speaker 1: many people's lives have been changed by the show because
- 29:30Speaker 1: half of Instagram's lives have been changed. Half of instagram
- 29:35Speaker 1: most people's kids have been changed. I know that right,
- 29:39Speaker 1: well that I think that brings up a good point.
- 29:41Speaker 1: Social media, like it was not around when we were filming.
- 29:45Speaker 1: It was not a thing. The only thing that that
- 29:48Speaker 1: did exist were what do they call them, um chat rooms?
- 29:54Speaker 1: Yet no, there they were four like um message boards
- 29:58Speaker 1: that's what they were. They message boards and UM they
- 30:03Speaker 1: were on like the ABC site. So ABC dot com
- 30:07Speaker 1: had message boards on their site and then everyone would
- 30:11Speaker 1: go there and basically just spill their guts and say
- 30:15Speaker 1: what they thought and not hold anything back. So it
- 30:17Speaker 1: was basically like social media now, but it was not
- 30:21Speaker 1: in It was the precursor to social media. And was
- 30:25Speaker 1: there Facebook, my Space? Oh my gosh, that's hysterical. Um. Yes,
- 30:30Speaker 1: So you know those things existed, but we didn't have
- 30:34Speaker 1: camera phones. Like I said before, we couldn't take pictures
- 30:37Speaker 1: like everything and everything that was happening, So we weren't
- 30:42Speaker 1: documenting like the behind the scenes stuff you know. We
- 30:46Speaker 1: had it was on vhs like when they So my
- 30:49Speaker 1: mom was traveling a lot to um to China, and overseas,
- 30:53Speaker 1: and they would actually send her VHS tapes of of
- 30:58Speaker 1: the show so that she could watch it. Um, but
- 31:01Speaker 1: we had VHS tapes, like you couldn't stream, you couldn't
- 31:04Speaker 1: like if you didn't watch the show that night, then
- 31:08Speaker 1: I don't know that you could watch it, you know
- 31:10Speaker 1: what I mean, because they didn't have to wait, right,
- 31:13Speaker 1: you had to have the VHS tape. My brother in
- 31:15Speaker 1: law had t VOW at the time. Remember he vowed
- 31:19Speaker 1: the season and my wife actually asked if if she
- 31:22Speaker 1: could watch an episode of it one time and he
- 31:24Speaker 1: hooked up his t VOW and all this kind of
- 31:26Speaker 1: snuff was like and he was just like, I'm sorry,
- 31:28Speaker 1: I can't figure this out anymore. I mean it's on
- 31:30Speaker 1: there somewhere, you know. Well he did actually, um, maybe
- 31:35Speaker 1: like five years ago something like that. Ten years ago,
- 31:39Speaker 1: they put it on ABC under like a reboot like
- 31:44Speaker 1: tab or something like that, to where you could watch
- 31:47Speaker 1: the old seasons. And I'm like horrified, like no, please, no,
- 31:53Speaker 1: I know my hair was so bad back then. I
- 31:55Speaker 1: have no idea. It was like my head so I
- 31:59Speaker 1: was like, my hair was so curly and this natural
- 32:02Speaker 1: it wasn't you know. Over the home perm um, and
- 32:06Speaker 1: I got to the point where I was like, people
- 32:09Speaker 1: would see my hair before they even saw me, and
- 32:12Speaker 1: they would confuse me with your millionaire, you know, I
- 32:14Speaker 1: was like that Ovin guy. They'd be like, is actual
- 32:16Speaker 1: millionaire or bachelor pop? You know? And so I just
- 32:19Speaker 1: got I just like brush cut my hair and then
- 32:20Speaker 1: it grew back kind of straighter, which is interesting. You know,
- 32:23Speaker 1: I don't know how, well, Hey, the show helped you
- 32:26Speaker 1: help your hair? Yeah, I didn't. I didn't mean as
- 32:28Speaker 1: much relaxer anymore. Maybe it was all the chlorine from
- 32:33Speaker 1: the hot tubs, because that's definitely something that's one thing
- 32:37Speaker 1: the show was. Yeah, exactly, it was and still is
- 32:41Speaker 1: hot tubs. I mean, I I wonder how many hot
- 32:44Speaker 1: tubs have been. What's the weirdest place they set up
- 32:47Speaker 1: a hot tub for you, whether between the Bachelor or
- 32:49Speaker 1: the bachelorte, what's the weirdest place that there was a
- 32:51Speaker 1: random hot tub on a houseboat in Seattle? Oh that
- 32:57Speaker 1: is kind of It was good. That was the steamy
- 32:59Speaker 1: scene with me and Ryan. Um, it was our like
- 33:02Speaker 1: fantasy so it was our yeah, our fantasy sweet date
- 33:06Speaker 1: we went to Seattle. So the budget has changed one
- 33:11Speaker 1: of my fantasy sweet dates was Jackson Hole, Wyoming. I'm like,
- 33:16Speaker 1: not only go to Bangkok for the entire you know,
- 33:18Speaker 1: they're all over the countryside of Thailand. The whole crew goes,
- 33:21Speaker 1: you know, I know. Yeah, we were in Seattle on
- 33:25Speaker 1: a houseboat and there was a hot tub on the houseboat,
- 33:28Speaker 1: so we were basically floating in you know, whatever that
- 33:32Speaker 1: body of water is. I don't remember what is that
- 33:35Speaker 1: body of water in Seattle. Um on a houseboat and
- 33:38Speaker 1: making out in a hot tub, because that's what you
- 33:40Speaker 1: do on The Bachelor, the you know, I like it. Yeah,
- 33:46Speaker 1: it was actually a great night, great night. My weirdest
- 33:49Speaker 1: hot tub pop up hop tub location was Kelly Joe
- 33:54Speaker 1: and I were in Alaska. We went to Alaska, which
- 33:56Speaker 1: was actually a pretty cool exotic date, like from one
- 33:58Speaker 1: of those we end up on a asia and doing
- 34:00Speaker 1: all this kind of stuff. But it was the day
- 34:02Speaker 1: after and I know, you know this story, but the
- 34:04Speaker 1: day after my allergic reaction to Alaskan king crab legs,
- 34:07Speaker 1: and so I was a little puffy, little swollen, and uh,
- 34:13Speaker 1: We're out doing you know, whatever we do on the date,
- 34:16Speaker 1: and then all of a sudden we randomly happened across
- 34:18Speaker 1: the hot tub at the base of this mountain, and
- 34:20Speaker 1: reason yes, And it's not what you think, because you know,
- 34:23Speaker 1: they do have hot tubs in those locations that are
- 34:26Speaker 1: amazing because they're actually hot. This one was like an
- 34:30Speaker 1: above ground, you know, hot tub that they fancied into
- 34:34Speaker 1: this little thing, and because the fact that they wanted
- 34:37Speaker 1: to make sure that audio wouldn't get ruined. It was
- 34:41Speaker 1: lukewarm water at Best in Alaska in the winter, and
- 34:45Speaker 1: we have to climb into this tub and it's not
- 34:47Speaker 1: like you climb in and you're like, oh the steam.
- 34:49Speaker 1: You climb in and you're like, does anyone have like
- 34:51Speaker 1: a scuba suit? And the bubbles can't run. You know,
- 34:55Speaker 1: that's one of the things you don't realize. I can
- 34:57Speaker 1: watch it from but there's no bubbles because the audio
- 34:59Speaker 1: will get wracked. And we were in this hot tub
- 35:01Speaker 1: for probably like fifteen minutes, and the whole time we're
- 35:03Speaker 1: both just like, please, guys, can we can we can
- 35:06Speaker 1: we go in the gondola, you know, can we do anything?
- 35:09Speaker 1: It's freezing, it's really cold. It's actually funny that you
- 35:13Speaker 1: say that because on this season with Clayton and Gabby
- 35:16Speaker 1: who's from Denver. They had a hot tub in the
- 35:20Speaker 1: middle of their hike, and because I live in Colorado,
- 35:23Speaker 1: all I was thinking was where the hell did this
- 35:27Speaker 1: hot tub come from? Like, you know, I'm thinking behind
- 35:30Speaker 1: the scenes, like how did they get this hot tub here?
- 35:32Speaker 1: And maybe it was like there's a you know where
- 35:36Speaker 1: you park your cars to go on the hikes. Maybe
- 35:39Speaker 1: it's like right by that. Um, but I was like,
- 35:42Speaker 1: I want to know if there's really a hot tub
- 35:44Speaker 1: somewhere out there, like on a hike somewhere I want
- 35:46Speaker 1: to go. I need to know this. Yeah, it was
- 35:49Speaker 1: so funny. I always thought that was so it was
- 35:51Speaker 1: always like, guys, I mean, maybe we do something different
- 35:54Speaker 1: this time besides a hot tub and champagne. And I'm
- 35:56Speaker 1: not a champagne guy either, so that was always tough
- 35:59Speaker 1: for me, you know, to have that going to so totally, no,
- 36:03Speaker 1: you have to do champagne. You have to do a
- 36:05Speaker 1: toast at everything. Hey, I want to bring up something
- 36:09Speaker 1: that actually is toastworthy in Bachelor Nation. That just happened.
- 36:13Speaker 1: Um Andy Dorphin, who I know you you love her
- 36:17Speaker 1: just as much as I do. She just got engaged
- 36:20Speaker 1: and I'm so happy for her, Um, it seems like
- 36:25Speaker 1: this guy. His name is Blaine Heart, I mean Andy Hart.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Is that not like a soap opera name or like
- 36:31Speaker 1: a right? Um. She surprised her at the beach, and
- 36:39Speaker 1: actually surprised her in an even bigger way in that
- 36:42Speaker 1: he he um planned it. Sorry, I couldn't figure out
- 36:46Speaker 1: the word plan um planned it. Yeah, that's what happens
- 36:49Speaker 1: when you become a mother poof words to Spanish um
- 36:53Speaker 1: mom brain um. But he planned it with all of
- 36:57Speaker 1: her family and friends. So he had them all waiting
- 36:59Speaker 1: back at their house after he proposed, and they came
- 37:02Speaker 1: in and I just I'm so so so happy. She's
- 37:05Speaker 1: such a sweetheart, and I love hearing that because, you know,
- 37:08Speaker 1: it was one of those things. I mean, she's she's
- 37:10Speaker 1: had a couple you know, New York Times bestsellers and
- 37:13Speaker 1: everything else, basically about the single life, right Like she
- 37:15Speaker 1: was kind of like, this is it right? And she
- 37:18Speaker 1: you know, I mean it was kind of like she
- 37:19Speaker 1: was sort of committed to that single life. So it's
- 37:21Speaker 1: really cool that she felled somebody, and you know, she's
- 37:24Speaker 1: a she's a really cool I'm really really happy for her.
- 37:26Speaker 1: That's awesome. I am too I love her. I I
- 37:29Speaker 1: and I also I wonder if there will be a
- 37:31Speaker 1: new book coming out when she gets married. It was
- 37:34Speaker 1: about the single life and single life. Now it's about
- 37:37Speaker 1: married life, So maybe she come out with the married
- 37:39Speaker 1: life book. Interesting would be interesting for sure. Now you
- 37:43Speaker 1: mentioned Clayton season, which I did not watch, but I
- 37:45Speaker 1: know at the end of Clayton's season, Um, they talked
- 37:49Speaker 1: about that. You mentioned Gabby and what was There's two brachels,
- 37:53Speaker 1: the other girl, Rachel. Two bachelorettes this season, which I
- 37:58Speaker 1: know Ashley and Ben have talked aked about a lot
- 38:00Speaker 1: on here. But I'm really excited because I feel like
- 38:06Speaker 1: there's been some chatter about whether or not the Bachelor
- 38:09Speaker 1: will survive for that much longer. And I feel like
- 38:14Speaker 1: they need to change things up, you know, they need
- 38:17Speaker 1: to make things more interesting for people. The ratings haven't
- 38:20Speaker 1: been fantastic. Um. I mean, I will always be one
- 38:24Speaker 1: of the readings because I'm always going to watch, but UM,
- 38:26Speaker 1: I know that's not for everybody. And and I think
- 38:29Speaker 1: it's really cool that they're going to actually have two bachelorettes.
- 38:32Speaker 1: I mean, I do worry that it will set things
- 38:37Speaker 1: up to be disastrous because I believe what they are
- 38:40Speaker 1: doing is, um, the girls are going to be dating
- 38:43Speaker 1: the same pool of guys. Oh wow, So it's gonna
- 38:46Speaker 1: be like guys or thirty guys and these two girls
- 38:50Speaker 1: and these two girls. And I don't know how it
- 38:52Speaker 1: will work. If like the girls will put in their
- 38:56Speaker 1: priority of who they want to go on a date with,
- 38:58Speaker 1: and then maybe the two girls have the same guy
- 39:01Speaker 1: as a priority. Will there be an awkward two on
- 39:03Speaker 1: one with the girls, Like, I don't know. I I
- 39:06Speaker 1: wonder how it's gonna work, But I do think it
- 39:08Speaker 1: will get people talking, and maybe that will bring up
- 39:11Speaker 1: some ratings and keep keep them on the air for longer.
- 39:14Speaker 1: Who knows. I just I just have to say that
- 39:17Speaker 1: I love Gabby and Rachel. I think that they are
- 39:20Speaker 1: both so articulate. I mean, you didn't see the season, um,
- 39:24Speaker 1: but Gabby, so I won't. I won't get into the
- 39:28Speaker 1: whole story. The people here know what happened basically, Um,
- 39:31Speaker 1: but she stood up for herself in such an articulate way,
- 39:38Speaker 1: uh that I just I'm so excited for her, Like
- 39:43Speaker 1: she just she put him in his place and didn't
- 39:47Speaker 1: let him step all over her. And and I was
- 39:50Speaker 1: so proud of her. I've I feel like I met her.
- 39:53Speaker 1: So she was a Denver Bronco cheerleader and Blakeslee was
- 39:56Speaker 1: a junior Denver Bronco cheerleader. They had this little program
- 39:59Speaker 1: with the little girls. Yeah, they get to dance with
- 40:01Speaker 1: the Bronco cheerleaders. And so I don't know if I
- 40:05Speaker 1: met her or met her from Afar, but um, I'm
- 40:08Speaker 1: really excited for her. And Rachel just seems like she's
- 40:11Speaker 1: got it all put together. They like, they are both
- 40:14Speaker 1: beautiful girls, but I think even more so, they are
- 40:18Speaker 1: willing to talk about their feelings, which I think is
- 40:20Speaker 1: so important when you are the lead. I think they
- 40:23Speaker 1: are ready for a relationship. I think that they're Gabby
- 40:27Speaker 1: is hysterical, um and and I I love that. So
- 40:32Speaker 1: I'm I'm really excited about this season. Maybe you'll watch? Yeah, well,
- 40:38Speaker 1: well because I will, well only because I shouldn't say
- 40:41Speaker 1: only because yes, I will, and also because I heard
- 40:44Speaker 1: all those great things about them, um, you know, and
- 40:46Speaker 1: it made me actually bummed that I didn't watch the season,
- 40:50Speaker 1: because I you know, I it was kind of funny
- 40:52Speaker 1: when the promo came out for Clayton's season, I was like, oh,
- 40:54Speaker 1: my god, it's like Jesse Palmer times too, like Jesse
- 40:57Speaker 1: and there and they like almost the same height, the
- 41:00Speaker 1: same I mean, it was kind of twins. Yeah, totally.
- 41:04Speaker 1: It's kind of like, wow, that is really crazy. But
- 41:06Speaker 1: it was one of those things where it was like,
- 41:07Speaker 1: you know, um, I heard about the girls standing up
- 41:09Speaker 1: to Clayton and about them both kind of standing their
- 41:11Speaker 1: ground and you know, really sort of establishing who they were,
- 41:15Speaker 1: and I think that that's going to be awesome because
- 41:18Speaker 1: you know, let's let kid ourselves, right, It's totally a
- 41:20Speaker 1: different ballow wax. When you're on the other side of
- 41:21Speaker 1: that flower, you're the one handed it out, it's a
- 41:24Speaker 1: it's a different thing. And I mean you and I
- 41:26Speaker 1: both we've talked about this a bunch, but we were
- 41:28Speaker 1: so worried about hurting anyone's feelings and trying to be
- 41:31Speaker 1: cautious and you know everything else. So I mean, I
- 41:34Speaker 1: really it's pretty amazing. Yeah. I think they both have
- 41:37Speaker 1: a really good heart. I mean I remember the first
- 41:40Speaker 1: night I was crying because I was like, oh my god,
- 41:43Speaker 1: how can I let these guys go when I don't
- 41:44Speaker 1: even know them, Like, I feel really bad, And it
- 41:47Speaker 1: just got worse from there, so you really have to
- 41:49Speaker 1: have be a strong UM person to be able to
- 41:52Speaker 1: really kind of get through it. UM. Okay, so I
- 41:55Speaker 1: think this was amazing. How much fun was this? Right?
- 41:58Speaker 1: And I love it? I absolutely love it so much fun.
- 42:00Speaker 1: Not a bad first episode. I think it was fun.
- 42:03Speaker 1: I mean I want we want you guys to chime
- 42:06Speaker 1: in though, So we would love for you to chime
- 42:08Speaker 1: in on the Instagram account for almost Famous. UM it's
