- 0:04SPEAKER_01: This is The Opinionated Ogre Podcast,
- 0:06SPEAKER_01: your weekly rampage through current events with a little snark,
- 0:09SPEAKER_01: a bit of foul language, and a lot of strong opinions.
- 0:12SPEAKER_01: They're in new episodes every Thursday,
- 0:13SPEAKER_01: and they're not safe for work or polite company of any kind whatsoever.
- 0:16SPEAKER_01: I am your podcast host, The Opinionated Ogre, and this is my co-host, Florida Woman.
- 0:22SPEAKER_01: Hello, Florida Woman.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: Good morning, everybody.
- 0:26SPEAKER_01: How are you doing this week?
- 0:27SPEAKER_01: I'm good.
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: Excellent.
- 0:29SPEAKER_01: So you watched a little bit of Press Secretary Kate Zachariah.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: How do you pronounce her name?
- 0:35SPEAKER_01: Is it Zachariah or Zachariah?
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: I'm never going to be bothered to even learn it because she'll be gone soon.
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, she's going to pull a Scaramucci.
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: She's terrible at this job.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: I love how we used to count people's stays in the White House by Scaramucci's during
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: the first term.
- 0:53SPEAKER_01: This is she's she's not.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: I mean, yeah, I'm sure she's good at something looking like Ivanka.
- 1:01SPEAKER_01: But what's weird about her?
- 1:05SPEAKER_01: Well, one thing weird about her,
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: it's like she said she's a lawyer,
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: but she hasn't passed the bar anywhere in the United States.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: And now we're finding out that she allegedly passed the bar while she was in China.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: But it's illegal for foreigners to take the bar in China or practice law.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 1:21SPEAKER_01: And she's very well connected to China for some reason.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: And now she's the press secretary, which is odd.
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: It's odd for us, but it's perfectly normal for this White House.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: Nothing suspicious.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: It's about the slightest.
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: And, you know,
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: these are the people like if if Democrats even meet with someone from China,
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: they scream treason, treason, treason for a year straight.
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: And now it's just like, oh, you've got one of them working in the White House and it's fine.
- 1:45SPEAKER_01: It's no problem.
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: She has access to all sorts of stuff, you know, classified information.
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: Don't worry.
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: It's all good.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: Ignore that.
- 1:52SPEAKER_01: Don't pay attention.
- 1:53SPEAKER_01: Nothing to see here.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: So just remember,
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: don't dare call treason when it's a republic committing it,
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: because that's how the saying goes, right?
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: That's how it goes?
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: I don't think so,
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: but I guess we're going to have to go with that,
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: because that's the America we
- 2:08SPEAKER_01: live in.
- 2:08SPEAKER_01: That's definitely how it is now.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: This is the recording for Thursday,
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: October 15th, 2026, and we have a lot to get to on 118 of the Ogpod.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: Are we ready to do this?
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: Hell yeah.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: All right, then let's get to it.
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: It's time for the Ogre Nation news updates.
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: Go Bills.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: Donald Trump has gone full traitor right before the midterms,
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: which is a really bold choice for him.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: His brain seems to be leaking out of his ears faster than normal.
- 2:42SPEAKER_01: But by now, you know that he made this deal to buy diesel from Russia.
- 2:49SPEAKER_01: Which is.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: Isn't that against the law?
- 2:52SPEAKER_01: It's literally against the law.
- 2:53SPEAKER_01: This isn't like, you know, we just have informal sanctions.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: Sanctions are not a suggestion.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: These are actual laws that have been passed and were signed by Trump.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: So, he's buying 300 tons of fuel from the murderous Russian dictator.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: Who's at war with our country.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: We're not calling it a war, but Putin's been trying to topple the United States for decades.
- 3:29SPEAKER_01: And we're giving him money now.
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: 300,000 tons.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: Sounds like
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: We have the third largest population in the world.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: Three.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: 300 tons of fuel, we will go through that in 12 hours.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: We use twice that much a day.
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: Never mind the fact that we're one of the largest countries in the world,
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: we're also one of the top fossil fuel consumers of the world.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: So, that's really literally 12 hours worth of diesel fuel for us.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: Paul Krugman did the math.
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: And he was like, how much do we use a day?
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: That's half.
- 4:16SPEAKER_01: What the hell?
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: But it's $400 million going to Putin.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: Which he desperately needs.
- 4:23SPEAKER_01: Trump plans to buy another 500,000 tons in November and
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: then another million tons sometime right after that.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: So that's another one and a half to two billion dollars to Russia.
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: That's assuming.
- 4:36SPEAKER_01: Trump doesn't start paying him extra just because.
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: And clearly, this is a financial lifeline to Putin.
- 4:43SPEAKER_01: The Russian economy has been under enormous strain for years between
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: The various sanctions from pretty much everybody on the planet,
- 4:55SPEAKER_01: the war that's been going absolutely horrendously for Russia.
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: This is going on, what, four years now?
- 5:03SPEAKER_01: I believe it's been four years.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: So that's going terribly.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, 2022, I think.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Russia's been just burning through money left and right
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: and their economy is not built for this in any way, shape or form.
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: But they need money from someplace and China's not going to just start pumping in tons of money.
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: But we are now.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: We're giving them billions of dollars for fuel that we're going to burn through in just days.
- 5:31SPEAKER_01: But this is money that they desperately, desperately need.
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: And The fact that Trump made this deal weeks ago and didn't announce it tells you
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: that, one,
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: he knew he was doing something illegal and he needed to keep it from the public
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: because Trump cannot keep his mouth shut about Michael Tracy?
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: Are you in the room?
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: Is Michael Chasey here?
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: What?
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: No, I'm sorry.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: He's too busy trying to debunk the Cornell 7 rape case.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: What?
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: That's what he does for a living.
- 6:27SPEAKER_01: He's got to pander to his audience of mediocre white rapists.
- 6:31SPEAKER_01: So this is where we are now.
- 6:34SPEAKER_01: We're literally funding a country that's directly working to topple our government.
- 6:40SPEAKER_01: And Trump demanded an energy ceasefire from both Russia and Ukraine.
- 6:47SPEAKER_01: And the idea here Both countries have been completely decimating infrastructure
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: in each of the countries.
- 6:54SPEAKER_01: Now, Russia is bombing electric and gas infrastructure in Ukraine.
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: Not like they're...
- 7:02SPEAKER_01: I don't know how much gas and oil Ukraine produces,
- 7:05SPEAKER_01: if any at all,
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: but they've been shutting down their civilian infrastructure,
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: which is a war crime,
- 7:10SPEAKER_01: by the way,
- 7:11SPEAKER_01: but they've been doing it in order to put people out in the cold during
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: a brutal winter.
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: They've been doing this every fucking year.
- 7:17SPEAKER_01: The fact that Ukraine is still standing is a testament
- 7:19SPEAKER_01: to how much those people don't give a flying fuck about Russia and they're willing
- 7:23SPEAKER_01: to put up with it in order to tell Russia to go take a walk off a long cliff.
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: It's been really surprising, to be honest with you.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: I thought Ukraine would have fallen years ago, and they're still fighting.
- 7:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and part of it is they know what's going to happen if Russia takes over their country.
- 7:41SPEAKER_01: They know this is an existential—Russia will kill them.
- 7:46SPEAKER_01: They will just simply kill them, and they will be living in a fucking never-ending nightmare.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: It's like, well, we either keep fighting.
- 7:52SPEAKER_01: We either fight and die now or we die slowly later.
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: OK, not much of a choice.
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: But so on the other hand, Ukraine is not blowing up civilian infrastructure.
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: They're not blowing up, you know, the oil and heating and electric.
- 8:06SPEAKER_01: So people go cold.
- 8:07SPEAKER_01: They are blowing up Russia's ability to pump and refine and deliver gas and oil
- 8:13SPEAKER_01: to other countries,
- 8:15SPEAKER_01: which has been very strategic in crippling Russia's petro economy.
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: This is their only real source of money because Russia doesn't produce anything
- 8:25SPEAKER_01: of value besides maybe vodka, okay?
- 8:29SPEAKER_01: So they've been very, very smart about this.
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: Russia has been losing hundreds of billions of dollars.
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: And they can't afford to keep going like this.
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: They need that money,
- 8:40SPEAKER_01: which is why all of a sudden Trump is very,
- 8:43SPEAKER_01: very concerned about Ukraine bombing the shit out of Russia's energy infrastructure.
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: The Opinionated Ogre.
- 9:10SPEAKER_01: I have to wonder if that was partially the idea behind us attacking Iran in the first place.
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: And we knew they were going to close the Shade of Hormuz.
- 9:22SPEAKER_01: We knew that was going to happen.
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: And if that did, it was going to drive.
- 9:25SPEAKER_01: I mean, there's no way that came from Trump.
- 9:27SPEAKER_01: He's not smart enough.
- 9:29SPEAKER_01: Putin's smart enough, though, and he is exactly that country.
- 9:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, have we forgotten that?
- 10:10SPEAKER_01: We don't talk about that.
- 10:12SPEAKER_01: We're literally still, we're giving money to the country that's helping kill our own troops.
- 10:18SPEAKER_01: But, you know, that's not a big deal.
- 10:20SPEAKER_01: The press doesn't really want to talk about that.
- 10:22SPEAKER_01: That's not really a big thing.
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: But this is absolutely fucking ridiculous.
- 10:25SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 10:26SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 10:42SPEAKER_01: The problem is Russia is also attacking Ukrainian energy infrastructure still.
- 10:50SPEAKER_01: So he's going to have a really hard time justifying cutting off the sales to Ukraine
- 10:55SPEAKER_01: and saying, well, they're doing this.
- 10:57SPEAKER_01: It's like, yeah, but what?
- 10:57SPEAKER_01: You're still going to be buying it from them?
- 11:00SPEAKER_01: Of course he will.
- 11:01SPEAKER_01: How do you justify it?
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: You can't.
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: If both sides are ignoring your demands for a ceasefire,
- 11:08SPEAKER_01: you can't only punish Ukraine and reward Russia without everything.
- 11:13SPEAKER_01: So, at
- 11:17SPEAKER_01: some point, it's absolutely going to happen.
- 11:21SPEAKER_01: Trump is going to declare Ukraine a national security threat and he's going
- 11:25SPEAKER_01: to start sending weapons and money.
- 11:28SPEAKER_01: He's not going to be buying diesel.
- 11:30SPEAKER_01: He's going to start sending weapons and money directly to Russia in order to,
- 11:34SPEAKER_01: and this is what you're going to be listening for, secure the peace.
- 11:39SPEAKER_01: That's the phrase you're going to be listening for.
- 11:41SPEAKER_01: He's going to say he's a national security threat.
- 11:42SPEAKER_01: We have to help Russia end this war in order to secure the peace.
- 11:47SPEAKER_01: All it's going to be is treason.
- 11:49SPEAKER_01: Trump is a Russian asset.
- 11:50SPEAKER_01: Half the Republican Party is on board with this.
- 11:52SPEAKER_01: The other half is actually really hostile to the idea because they're like Reagan Republicans.
- 11:57SPEAKER_01: Republicans in that sense, they're incredibly hostile to Russia.
- 12:01SPEAKER_01: But the other half, I have been bought and paid for by Russia for years.
- 12:06SPEAKER_01: This is who they fucking are.
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: This is who the Republican Party is.
- 12:10SPEAKER_01: And unless they get together with Democrats and they push Trump out,
- 12:15SPEAKER_01: we're going to have to deal with this for the next two fucking years
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: of Trump just selling our country out and working directly for fucking work.
- 12:23SPEAKER_00: Well, that's something to look forward to.
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: Can't wait.
- 12:26SPEAKER_00: Well, speaking of Trump,
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: last week the Trump regime announced the military was going to put Nadal Hassan
- 12:33SPEAKER_00: to death via firing squad.
- 12:35SPEAKER_00: Hassan is a former U.S.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: major who served as an Army Medical Corps psychiatrist,
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: which is pretty disturbing if you consider his history.
- 12:44SPEAKER_00: He opened fire on the Fort Hood Army Base in 2009, murdering 13 and injuring 32.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: In 2013,
- 12:53SPEAKER_00: he was sentenced to death for the massacre and has been in a military prison
- 12:58SPEAKER_00: in Leavenworth since then because the U.S.
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: military hasn't executed a soldier since 1961.
- 13:05SPEAKER_00: Of course, the Trump regime loves killing people.
- 13:09SPEAKER_00: So last Monday,
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell announced Secretary Loti recommended Hassan be
- 13:17SPEAKER_00: killed by firing squad.
- 13:19SPEAKER_00: Trump approved the request.
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: And by the way,
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: this announcement was made on Twitter because apparently that's the platform
- 13:25SPEAKER_00: that we use to announce very serious, serious decisions to
- 13:30SPEAKER_01: the American people.
- 13:31SPEAKER_01: Well, that's where all the best Nazis are, so.
- 13:33SPEAKER_00: The U.S.
- 13:34SPEAKER_00: military has not killed a soldier by firing squad since 1945,
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: when Private Eddie D.
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: Slavic was executed in France for desertion during World War II, since 1945.
- 13:48SPEAKER_00: Two days after Parnell's announcement,
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: the U.S.
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: Army announced it decided that Hassan's execution should happen during
- 13:55SPEAKER_00: the holiday season on December 3rd.
- 13:58SPEAKER_00: Ho, ho, ho!
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: Merry Christmas!
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: I actually had missed all of this last week
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: and only found out what my best friend informed me during a phone call.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: She said, this is so barbaric.
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: Next thing you know, they're going to air it on television.
- 14:13SPEAKER_00: And then we hung up.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: And well,
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: a few hours later,
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: I was sending her an announcement
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: because that's exactly what these super Christians want to do.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: You know, a little Yule blog and, you know, some public execution.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: That sounds like fun for the holiday season.
- 14:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, this is straight up fucking, this is straight up running man shit.
- 14:33SPEAKER_01: It's like, no, murder on TV, just for fun.
- 14:36SPEAKER_01: Gotta entertain the masses.
- 14:38SPEAKER_00: Well, the same day the military announced the execution date,
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: Hegseth told far-right podcaster Jack, how do you say his name?
- 14:48SPEAKER_01: Basobiec.
- 14:48SPEAKER_00: Basobiec.
- 14:48SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah, no, he was definitely way into it.
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: Especially his own.
- 15:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah, exactly.
- 15:14SPEAKER_00: Hassan, by the way,
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: is in a wheelchair because he was paralyzed when police shot him after the massacre.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: The Trump regime is going to look super, super,
- 15:24SPEAKER_00: super tough when it executes a prisoner by firing squad who's in a wheelchair.
- 15:29SPEAKER_01: I'll bet you $5 they make him stand up somehow.
- 15:33SPEAKER_00: They bring in like a piece of wood and they like...
- 15:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: they strap him up somehow so he's not in a wheelchair because they know
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: the optics of that are going to be ridiculous.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: While Hegseth is giddy with excitement over the possibility of a public execution,
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: the army was reportedly caught completely off guard.
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: Of course, because, you know, 1945.
- 15:57SPEAKER_00: And why wouldn't they be?
- 15:59SPEAKER_00: This isn't normal.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: And more importantly, it's against army regulations.
- 16:03SPEAKER_00: The only people who are supposed to be at military executions are The families of
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: the victims, the lawyers for the defendant, their family, and then officials.
- 16:17SPEAKER_00: One army officer who's had multiple deployments to the Middle East told CNN, quote,
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: When we do public executions,
- 16:28SPEAKER_00: the generational harm caused by allowing troops in uniform to stand in front of
- 16:32SPEAKER_00: a man in a wheelchair and watch him get shot to death is irreparable.
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: Even Vice President J.D.
- 16:38SPEAKER_00: Vance was skeptical,
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: telling the media he didn't know if it would actually happen,
- 16:42SPEAKER_00: and, quote, I'm not going to be watching it.
- 16:44SPEAKER_01: But he doesn't have enough of a fucking spine to speak up
- 16:47SPEAKER_01: and say maybe we shouldn't do this, because of course he won't.
- 16:49SPEAKER_01: Right, of course not.
- 16:50SPEAKER_00: No.
- 16:51SPEAKER_01: So much for his fucking Catholic face.
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: I have to laugh because, you know, he's not a real Catholic.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: No, he really isn't.
- 16:58SPEAKER_00: Trump spoke in support of the public execution on Friday and then
- 17:02SPEAKER_00: in true Trump fashion got the details wrong saying 14 people had been murdered.
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: And yes,
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: I know that it's just one more than what was actually murdered at Fort Hood,
- 17:11SPEAKER_00: but it just shows you that he just doesn't care to learn about anything.
- 17:16SPEAKER_01: And if Joe Biden got that wrong, it would be front page news.
- 17:19SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: But by the weekend,
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: Trump was casting doubt in whether or not
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: the live-streamed execution would actually happen,
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: saying, quote, They are making a determination about that, but he will be killed.
- 17:30SPEAKER_00: I really don't care how he goes as long as he goes.
- 17:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah, apparently a lot of people,
- 17:36SPEAKER_01: like Republicans,
- 17:37SPEAKER_01: came up, went up to him and said, this is a really bad fucking idea.
- 17:40SPEAKER_01: It's like, you know, they don't mind the execution.
- 17:42SPEAKER_01: The live streaming part,
- 17:45SPEAKER_01: they're telling him it's really going to make a lot of people really,
- 17:48SPEAKER_01: really fucking uncomfortable.
- 17:49SPEAKER_01: Even on our side, this is a very, very bad fucking idea.
- 17:52SPEAKER_01: Don't do it.
- 17:53SPEAKER_00: Well, experts are telling parents to get their children ready for this because
- 17:57SPEAKER_00: if it happens, it's going to be everywhere.
- 18:00SPEAKER_00: It's going to be pushed out on social media.
- 18:03SPEAKER_00: I mean, and what are they going to do?
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: Censor it on social media when the government approves this?
- 18:09SPEAKER_01: Well, even then, you know they won't on Twitter.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 18:13SPEAKER_00: And the thing is,
- 18:13SPEAKER_00: is like, yeah,
- 18:15SPEAKER_00: Republicans are against it too,
- 18:17SPEAKER_00: because even if you are pro-death penalty,
- 18:20SPEAKER_00: a public execution is fucking barbaric and it's not something we do.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: And that's, it's not a, it's not an execution, that's a lynching.
- 18:27SPEAKER_01: That's the lynching.
- 18:28SPEAKER_01: The idea is to make it a big old sport for everyone's enjoyment.
- 18:32SPEAKER_01: That's not about justice.
- 18:34SPEAKER_01: It's not even about retribution, right?
- 18:36SPEAKER_01: It's about making sure everyone gets to see it and have a good time.
- 18:41SPEAKER_01: I know you've seen these, the pictures of all the smiling white people.
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: Yes, you know.
- 18:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's what they're going for.
- 18:50SPEAKER_01: And if this guy was white, I guarantee they would not be doing this.
- 18:53SPEAKER_01: No, not at all.
- 18:55SPEAKER_01: If this was a white Christian who went on a killing spree,
- 18:59SPEAKER_01: they would not be trying to do this in public execution.
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: There are already reports that soldiers are asking for religious exemptions so that
- 19:05SPEAKER_00: the military won't call them up to be part of the firing squad.
- 19:08SPEAKER_00: Michael L.
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: Weinstein,
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: the founder of Military Religious Freedom Foundation,
- 19:13SPEAKER_00: the Military Religious Freedom Foundation,
- 19:15SPEAKER_00: told the Washington Sun that
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: at least six service members have approached his organization about exemptions
- 19:21SPEAKER_00: and he expects up to 180 more.
- 19:24SPEAKER_00: Now, it's important to understand.
- 19:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well, let me
- 19:28SPEAKER_01: think about that.
- 19:28SPEAKER_01: I'm a little curious about why anyone would need an exemption.
- 19:32SPEAKER_01: Wouldn't they just be asking for volunteers?
- 19:35SPEAKER_00: No, they would definitely.
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: It would be orders.
- 19:37SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: Because the military doesn't ask for volunteers.
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: They...
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: They order you to do something and you
- 19:44SPEAKER_01: do it.
- 19:44SPEAKER_01: But for something like this, it's like... And for everything.
- 19:47SPEAKER_01: Just get a volunteer.
- 19:49SPEAKER_01: That way you don't have to worry about if the person wants to do it or not.
- 19:52SPEAKER_01: In this particular instance where someone might have a moral objection to it,
- 19:55SPEAKER_01: it's like, no, we don't have to worry about that.
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: This is a little outside their usual duties.
- 20:00SPEAKER_01: Make it a volunteer mission.
- 20:01SPEAKER_00: Well, so it's important to understand that none of this is set in stone
- 20:05SPEAKER_00: because Hassan still has appeals and he could have this whole thing delayed.
- 20:10SPEAKER_00: Also,
- 20:10SPEAKER_00: the courts have previously ruled against allowing the public to view executions
- 20:15SPEAKER_00: when media members have asked to broadcast them.
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: Because apparently the media has previously asked for an execution to be broadcast,
- 20:22SPEAKER_00: which is weird.
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: Ew.
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: The fact that the Trump regime is even trying to terrorize the country with
- 20:28SPEAKER_00: a live-streamed execution is wild.
- 20:31SPEAKER_00: Violent extremists are the only people who execute people via live-stream.
- 20:36SPEAKER_00: We actually saw a lot of this during the war on...
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that wasn't great.
- 20:39SPEAKER_00: Yay, social media.
- 20:58SPEAKER_00: And I was a child, really, when the war on terror started.
- 21:01SPEAKER_00: So the first execution I ever saw online was of a government contractor from Orlando.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: And I was like a teenager.
- 21:09SPEAKER_00: And I was like, yikes.
- 21:10SPEAKER_00: And it stays with me.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: So I was like 15 or 16.
- 21:15SPEAKER_00: I'm 41 now.
- 21:17SPEAKER_00: We can't be doing this to our children anymore.
- 21:19SPEAKER_00: Several terrorists, domestically and abroad, have live-streamed mass shootings.
- 21:24SPEAKER_00: The Trump regime wants to be just like them.
- 21:26SPEAKER_00: Of course, we all know that they're terrorists anyways.
- 21:29SPEAKER_00: We should also point out,
- 21:30SPEAKER_00: this is exactly the kind of shit that we would expect from a fascist regime.
- 21:36SPEAKER_00: Their supporters will eat this violent propaganda up.
- 21:39SPEAKER_00: It doesn't matter how much psychological harm it's going to do.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: Including
- 21:43SPEAKER_01: their own children.
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: Including to their own children because, hey, the enemy deserves to die, right?
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: We've already seen these people killing immigrants in the street.
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: The next logical step is to start killing prisoners on television.
- 21:57SPEAKER_00: It helps them desensitize the American people.
- 21:59SPEAKER_00: If nothing shocks us, there won't be any backlash.
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: We're much less likely to rise up.
- 22:06SPEAKER_00: We kind of see this with mass shootings at schools.
- 22:09SPEAKER_00: How often do we go out and protest mass shootings at schools anymore?
- 22:13SPEAKER_00: And they happen all the time.
- 22:14SPEAKER_01: It's just a thing now.
- 22:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's just normal.
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: They keep taking it further and further.
- 22:21SPEAKER_00: That's why it's so important that we all use our voices to object to this.
- 22:24SPEAKER_00: We all have to speak out against it.
- 22:26SPEAKER_00: I don't care if you are pro-death penalty.
- 22:30SPEAKER_00: Or against the death penalty.
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: We should all protest public executions.
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: This isn't the fucking Salem Witch Trials, guys.
- 22:38SPEAKER_00: Which, by the way, they weren't burning witches.
- 22:40SPEAKER_00: They were burning women.
- 22:42SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 22:43SPEAKER_00: Nadal Hassan is a...
- 22:45SPEAKER_00: I'm
- 22:50SPEAKER_00: against the death penalty even as the daughter of a murdered parent,
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: but I can understand why people would want him to be put to death,
- 22:57SPEAKER_00: but it's not about him.
- 22:59SPEAKER_00: It's about what the regime is doing to our country and how we can protect ourselves
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: and our children.
- 23:05SPEAKER_00: They always say save the children.
- 23:07SPEAKER_00: Well, okay.
- 23:09SPEAKER_01: Now is a perfect opportunity to do that.
- 23:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and it's not like there's some way to prevent kids from watching it.
- 23:16SPEAKER_01: Once you put it online like that, that's it.
- 23:19SPEAKER_01: It's on there.
- 23:20SPEAKER_01: Social media is not going to scrub these images.
- 23:24SPEAKER_01: It'll just be accessible.
- 23:25SPEAKER_01: You'll be able to find it.
- 23:26SPEAKER_01: And that's part of why they're doing it.
- 23:29SPEAKER_01: They want to teach people that it's okay to kill bad people, yada, yada, yada.
- 23:36SPEAKER_01: And mind you, you know...
- 23:38SPEAKER_01: Four years from now,
- 23:39SPEAKER_01: when there's a Democrat in the White House,
- 23:41SPEAKER_01: if President, blah, blah,
- 23:43SPEAKER_01: whoever,
- 23:44SPEAKER_01: the Democrat,
- 23:45SPEAKER_01: wanted to publicly execute a white nationalist that shot up a school and killed
- 23:51SPEAKER_01: a bunch of kids,
- 23:52SPEAKER_01: people would be like,
- 23:53SPEAKER_01: oh, that guy killed They don't want that kind of execution publicized.
- 23:55SPEAKER_01: They don't want that kind of execution for people to see
- 23:59SPEAKER_01: because that's their people being executed.
- 24:02SPEAKER_01: They don't want that.
- 24:03SPEAKER_01: They want brown people.
- 24:15SPEAKER_01: They want those people being executed, not their people.
- 24:20SPEAKER_01: The Trump regime will never do a public execution of a right-wing extremist.
- 24:25SPEAKER_01: Never.
- 24:26SPEAKER_01: Or at least not a right-wing Christian.
- 24:28SPEAKER_01: It'll always be Yeah, she had one in the ad and they lost their minds.
- 24:51SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 24:52SPEAKER_01: It's like, why are you showing white men?
- 24:54SPEAKER_01: You should be showing black women.
- 24:55SPEAKER_01: It's like, guys, when you're doing a racism, you can't say the racism out loud.
- 25:02SPEAKER_01: You have to be more subtle than that, guys.
- 25:04SPEAKER_01: But they were so fucking mad because she was targeting them,
- 25:09SPEAKER_01: not the people that they think are all on welfare.
- 25:13SPEAKER_01: And it's like, well, yeah,
- 25:14SPEAKER_01: there's some black people on there,
- 25:15SPEAKER_01: but there's also an awful lot of white people on there.
- 25:18SPEAKER_01: Especially in a state that's overwhelmingly white.
- 25:21SPEAKER_01: So because she was only talking about her state.
- 25:24SPEAKER_01: So this is it's all about racism, even the death penalty.
- 25:28SPEAKER_01: Everything's with racism with these guys.
- 25:30SPEAKER_01: So, all right, let us move on.
- 25:33SPEAKER_01: Otherwise,
- 25:34SPEAKER_01: we will be here all day just talking about what animals these Republicans are
- 25:38SPEAKER_01: with their bloodlust.
- 25:39SPEAKER_01: Let us move on to, wow, we have just two weeks left of this one.
- 25:44SPEAKER_01: And probably a recap for the week or two after.
- 25:47SPEAKER_01: But for now, it is time to move on to the Midterm Massacre.
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: So according to MS Now,
- 26:04SPEAKER_00: there are now five red state governorships under threat of flipping
- 26:08SPEAKER_00: and one red state blue governor in danger of flipping back.
- 26:13SPEAKER_00: Democrats are currently ahead in Iowa and Ohio, according to 50 Plus One.
- 26:18SPEAKER_00: The races in Nevada,
- 26:19SPEAKER_00: Texas, and Georgia are also close, though the GOP candidates have narrow leads.
- 26:24SPEAKER_00: We've come within striking distance in Georgia in the last two races.
- 26:29SPEAKER_00: But unfortunately, Republicans of the state cheated.
- 26:31SPEAKER_00: Remember when, what was his name?
- 26:33SPEAKER_00: Stacey Adams.
- 26:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Stacey Adams was running, and it was Brian Kemp, right?
- 26:37SPEAKER_01: He was the- He was the Secretary of State running for governor,
- 26:41SPEAKER_00: and just somehow- And he didn't recuse himself as Secretary of State.
- 26:45SPEAKER_00: And then all these voters got thrown off the polls.
- 26:49SPEAKER_00: It's very weird.
- 26:50SPEAKER_00: Totally unexpected.
- 26:52SPEAKER_00: So hopefully we'll get across the finish line this time.
- 26:54SPEAKER_00: I have hope because John Ossoff is also running.
- 26:59SPEAKER_00: So I'm hoping that we get both.
- 27:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's going to have some long coattails there.
- 27:05SPEAKER_00: Fingers crossed.
- 27:06SPEAKER_00: Rob Sand,
- 27:07SPEAKER_00: the Democratic candidate in Iowa,
- 27:09SPEAKER_00: is nine points ahead of the Republican candidate there.
- 27:12SPEAKER_01: Jesus Christ.
- 27:14SPEAKER_00: Crazy.
- 27:16SPEAKER_00: It's one of our best shots to flip a governorship.
- 27:19SPEAKER_00: And then in Ohio,
- 27:21SPEAKER_00: Republican and Doge OG Vivek Ramaswamy made the race competitive for Democrats.
- 27:30SPEAKER_01: He made it competitive in the sense of he was terrible.
- 27:33SPEAKER_01: He shouldn't have been there.
- 27:34SPEAKER_01: And a regular candidate probably would just want to ran away with it.
- 27:36SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 27:37SPEAKER_00: The tech bro did not even live in Ohio.
- 27:40SPEAKER_00: He moved there just to run for governor because he thought he could win there.
- 27:43SPEAKER_01: Definition of carpetbagger.
- 27:46SPEAKER_00: Southerners love to use that term.
- 27:48SPEAKER_00: The Democratic candidate, Amy Acton, is pulling four points ahead.
- 27:53SPEAKER_00: She actually used to work for the Republican governor.
- 27:56SPEAKER_00: She was appointed to something.
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: Take what you can get.
- 28:00SPEAKER_00: We take what we can get in red states, man.
- 28:02SPEAKER_00: In Kansas, Republicans could take back the governorship after eight years of Democratic rule.
- 28:08SPEAKER_00: Sadly, Governor Laura Kelly is term limited.
- 28:11SPEAKER_00: One wonders, though,
- 28:12SPEAKER_00: if the people of Kansas are ready to take that plunge again,
- 28:15SPEAKER_00: because former Republican Governor Sam Brownback was so single-mindedly focused
- 28:21SPEAKER_00: on his far-right,
- 28:22SPEAKER_00: pro-corporate, anti-everybody else economic agenda, he trashed the state.
- 28:27SPEAKER_00: He trashed it so badly that people started calling it Brownbackistan.
- 28:32SPEAKER_00: Which I totally forgot about until you mentioned it in the notes.
- 28:36SPEAKER_00: And his own party rebelled.
- 28:38SPEAKER_00: Even his fellow Republicans thought that maybe living in a state without electricity
- 28:42SPEAKER_00: and running water might be a bit too much.
- 28:44SPEAKER_00: He was so bad.
- 28:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, when your own party says, you know what?
- 28:49SPEAKER_01: No, we can't do this.
- 28:51SPEAKER_01: You're destroying everything and our kids have to live here too.
- 28:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he was so bad.
- 28:56SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
- 28:57SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 28:58SPEAKER_01: Speaking of terrible, Musk,
- 29:00SPEAKER_01: Elon Musk, like Trump, is pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into the midterms.
- 29:06SPEAKER_01: Musk is just pouring his own money in.
- 29:09SPEAKER_01: Trump is using his super PAC.
- 29:10SPEAKER_01: I forget what it's called.
- 29:12SPEAKER_01: They're both trying to save the GOP majority.
- 29:15SPEAKER_01: Between the two of them, they've dropped in like half a billion dollars.
- 29:18SPEAKER_01: But they started way too late.
- 29:21SPEAKER_01: And it's not clear that they could do anything except maybe keeping the bloodbath
- 29:26SPEAKER_01: from becoming an apocalypse.
- 29:27SPEAKER_01: So maybe a minor apocalypse instead of an extinction event?
- 29:31SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 29:32SPEAKER_01: So...
- 29:33SPEAKER_01: What were they waiting for?
- 29:34SPEAKER_01: What the fuck were they waiting for?
- 29:37SPEAKER_01: Partly, they were waiting because of arrogance.
- 29:39SPEAKER_01: Because they were like, we don't have to do anything.
- 29:42SPEAKER_01: We're Republicans.
- 29:43SPEAKER_01: We control everything.
- 29:44SPEAKER_01: Blah, blah, blah.
- 29:45SPEAKER_01: But also, the polling only got...
- 29:48SPEAKER_01: The Opinionated Ogre.
- 30:13SPEAKER_00: And you know that 30% is really the people who are part of the cult.
- 30:17SPEAKER_00: The ones who are like, they have their car wrapped in.
- 30:21SPEAKER_00: There's a car around here that's wrapped in Trump as Rambo.
- 30:24SPEAKER_01: But like three months ago,
- 30:26SPEAKER_01: that number was 37%, where it was like, oh, I'll never go lower than 37%.
- 30:30SPEAKER_01: The Professional Left Podcast,
- 30:32SPEAKER_01: which is one of the ones I listen to regularly,
- 30:34SPEAKER_01: they call that the Sarah Palin pool, right?
- 30:38SPEAKER_01: It was like 37%.
- 30:39SPEAKER_01: They'll never go lower than 37%,
- 30:41SPEAKER_01: but now they went through the Sarah Palin floor where there's 30%, 32%, 31%.
- 30:50SPEAKER_01: They're down there,
- 30:51SPEAKER_01: and if things keep getting worse,
- 30:54SPEAKER_01: and they They're even more pissed off at Republicans because while Trump has a cult,
- 31:09SPEAKER_01: The Republican Party does not have a cult.
- 31:12SPEAKER_01: They have trained their voters to hate Democrats, but not necessarily love Republicans.
- 31:20SPEAKER_01: So they'll never vote for a Democrat,
- 31:22SPEAKER_01: but they'll stay home and not vote before they'll,
- 31:26SPEAKER_01: you know, they won't go in and vote for a Republican.
- 31:29SPEAKER_01: They'll just stay home.
- 31:30SPEAKER_01: Although I have to say, I did read something today and I have to go back and go through it.
- 31:36SPEAKER_01: The data center thing, the whole thing about data centers is pissing off Republicans so much.
- 31:44SPEAKER_01: That some of them are voting for Democrats,
- 31:47SPEAKER_01: which is insane to hear to say that out loud because they've been conditioned
- 31:53SPEAKER_01: for 50 years that Democrats are literally the children of Satan himself.
- 32:03SPEAKER_01: They literally believe that we kill and eat babies,
- 32:06SPEAKER_01: that we're pedophiles who kill and eat children,
- 32:08SPEAKER_01: and they're still willing to vote for us over Republicans because of
- 32:12SPEAKER_01: the data center thing.
- 32:14SPEAKER_01: See how angry people are about that.
- 32:17SPEAKER_01: And yet Trump goes out there and says, I love data centers.
- 32:19SPEAKER_01: And it's like, oh my fucking God, you've got to be shitting me.
- 32:22SPEAKER_01: So, all right.
- 32:23SPEAKER_01: Anyway, back to what we were talking about.
- 32:26SPEAKER_01: So another reason that Trump and Musk waited until The absolute last minute
- 32:33SPEAKER_01: to start pouring in half a billion dollars into
- 32:35SPEAKER_01: the midterms is they thought their various schemes to rate the elections were going
- 32:41SPEAKER_01: to work.
- 32:41SPEAKER_01: They thought gerrymandering was going to deliver them the House.
- 32:44SPEAKER_01: That didn't work out at all.
- 32:46SPEAKER_01: Controlling mail-in ballots would eliminate millions of votes.
- 32:50SPEAKER_01: That didn't work out.
- 32:51SPEAKER_01: There's still this vain hope that the military is going to seize ballots
- 32:55SPEAKER_01: and shut down polling sites.
- 32:56SPEAKER_01: But with the polling this heavily against Republicans, that's a problem.
- 33:02SPEAKER_01: Like we've explained over and over and over again, A stolen election has to appear plausible.
- 33:10SPEAKER_01: Sending the military or the FBI or Department of Homeland Security to grab
- 33:14SPEAKER_01: the ballots in multiple states while claiming voter fraud
- 33:19SPEAKER_01: across multiple elections That's not going to appear even slightly legitimate.
- 33:27SPEAKER_01: It will appear as exactly what it is.
- 33:30SPEAKER_01: A fascist regime stealing elections it lost.
- 33:34SPEAKER_01: And that won't work.
- 33:36SPEAKER_01: No one's going to accept it.
- 33:38SPEAKER_01: And you have to have that fig leaf of plausibility.
- 33:42SPEAKER_01: And it disappears when you do it that way.
- 33:45SPEAKER_01: So now the corrupt morons have to pour a ton of money into the midterms
- 33:51SPEAKER_01: And hope they can fire their way out of this mess.
- 33:53SPEAKER_01: They dug a huge, massive hole for themselves.
- 33:56SPEAKER_01: But they can't.
- 33:57SPEAKER_01: And we'd love seeing that for them and them setting money on fire, especially Trump.
- 34:03SPEAKER_01: If he blows half of his rather So, boo-hoo.
- 34:22SPEAKER_00: So sad.
- 34:23SPEAKER_00: Well, speaking of Trump, he's making farmers' lives even harder ahead of the midterms.
- 34:28SPEAKER_00: So nice of him.
- 34:36SPEAKER_00: The government invested nearly $5 billion into renewable and energy-efficient products.
- 34:53SPEAKER_00: It helped fund more than 19,000 energy projects undertaken by small businesses and farmers.
- 35:01SPEAKER_00: That's a massive amount of projects taken on by farmers and small businesses.
- 35:07SPEAKER_00: You know, that probably really props up the local economies.
- 35:10SPEAKER_00: The projects included everything from solar and wind power to manure biodigesters,
- 35:17SPEAKER_00: which sounds really gross.
- 35:18SPEAKER_00: I wonder what they do.
- 35:19SPEAKER_01: Hmm.
- 35:21SPEAKER_01: One wonders.
- 35:24SPEAKER_00: Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins claimed solar projects were taking farmland
- 35:29SPEAKER_00: needed for crops.
- 35:30SPEAKER_00: Personally,
- 35:31SPEAKER_00: I find this hilarious,
- 35:34SPEAKER_00: especially since we can all see with our eyeballs what developers like Trump
- 35:39SPEAKER_00: and others are doing.
- 35:41SPEAKER_00: What are they using the farmland for?
- 35:43SPEAKER_00: I don't know what it's like in Virginia,
- 35:45SPEAKER_00: but in Florida,
- 35:46SPEAKER_00: they're taking the farmland and building master communities like
- 35:50SPEAKER_00: where you have Three acres of land and 100 houses
- 35:54SPEAKER_00: and they're all like four feet apart.
- 35:56SPEAKER_00: Or, you know, huge, huge apartment building complexes.
- 36:01SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 36:01SPEAKER_00: That's what's happening to our farmland here.
- 36:03SPEAKER_00: It's really a big problem in Florida.
- 36:07SPEAKER_00: I don't know what it's like in other states,
- 36:08SPEAKER_00: but it's not solar farms that are taking our farmland.
- 36:12SPEAKER_00: But I digress.
- 36:13SPEAKER_00: Over two-thirds of the energy grants have gone to districts held by Republicans.
- 36:17SPEAKER_00: Oof.
- 36:19SPEAKER_00: So that spells more bad news for the GOP.
- 36:22SPEAKER_00: Good fucking riddance.
- 36:23SPEAKER_01: Now, one thing about the whole, oh, they're taking up our farmland.
- 36:28SPEAKER_01: There are big, large swaths of farmland that farmers are paid not to use.
- 36:35SPEAKER_00: Yes, that too.
- 36:38SPEAKER_01: It's a supply and demand issue, right?
- 36:39SPEAKER_01: If too many people are producing tomatoes,
- 36:41SPEAKER_01: then you can't sell the tomatoes enough to make a profit on what you've made.
- 36:53SPEAKER_01: Okay,
- 36:56SPEAKER_01: so the government literally pays farmers to not use large chunks of their fields
- 37:02SPEAKER_01: across the country in order to crop up the price of various crops.
- 37:07SPEAKER_01: And I know that sounds...
- 37:08SPEAKER_01: These projects were a perfect solution if...
- 37:23SPEAKER_01: If I have 500 acres of field and 200 of it,
- 37:29SPEAKER_01: you don't want me to use 200 acres of it, convert it to a solar farm.
- 37:34SPEAKER_01: Now I don't have to use it to grow crops and it's not wasted.
- 37:37SPEAKER_01: It's not just sitting there.
- 37:39SPEAKER_01: The government doesn't have to pay me money for it.
- 37:42SPEAKER_01: Now it's generating revenue and it's helping the power grid in general.
- 37:48SPEAKER_01: It was the perfect solution for this problem because we have a ton of farmland.
- 37:55SPEAKER_01: Not all of it we need.
- 37:56SPEAKER_01: I mean, depending on the state, obviously, right?
- 37:58SPEAKER_01: But like out in the Midwest, there's a ton of farmland.
- 38:01SPEAKER_01: They don't need all of it all the fucking time.
- 38:04SPEAKER_01: We grow a lot of corn.
- 38:05SPEAKER_01: We don't necessarily need Right.
- 38:07SPEAKER_00: And we're already suffering, which is becoming a real, real problem.
- 38:23SPEAKER_01: If we have to move the farmland to some other parts,
- 38:25SPEAKER_01: those farmers, well,
- 38:27SPEAKER_01: they need to do something with their no longer useful farmland,
- 38:31SPEAKER_01: solar farms, wind farms.
- 38:33SPEAKER_01: It's perfect, especially out in the Midwest where there's lots of sun, lots of wind.
- 38:37SPEAKER_01: But of course, Republicans don't want that because of their insane ideology.
- 38:43SPEAKER_01: It's perfect for the farmers.
- 38:44SPEAKER_01: It's perfect.
- 38:45SPEAKER_01: Never mind the environment.
- 38:48SPEAKER_01: It's perfect for the farms and it's perfect for the economy.
- 38:51SPEAKER_01: Because every year we use more and more electricity.
- 38:55SPEAKER_01: This is a perfect solution.
- 38:57SPEAKER_01: And Republicans are doing everything possible to cripple our growing energy economy,
- 39:04SPEAKER_01: aside from the whole economics.
- 39:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 39:08SPEAKER_00: Plus, if you think about it, we invest upfront.
- 39:11SPEAKER_00: They build a solar farm, right?
- 39:13SPEAKER_00: And then instead of the government paying them to not use that land every year,
- 39:18SPEAKER_00: it's the private power companies that are paying them for their own land.
- 39:22SPEAKER_00: Why is this complicated?
- 39:26SPEAKER_00: That's common sense.
- 39:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, the economics of it work out fantastic.
- 39:31SPEAKER_01: And these are like, oh, we're the party of the economy.
- 39:35SPEAKER_01: And it's like, you don't act like it.
- 39:37SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 39:37SPEAKER_01: Now, moving on to Texas, James Tallarico is freaking out Republicans.
- 39:44SPEAKER_01: He's doing so well,
- 39:45SPEAKER_01: and Ken Paxton,
- 39:46SPEAKER_01: his idiot opponent,
- 39:48SPEAKER_01: is doing so poorly, we are seeing levels of panic that are unusual.
- 39:53SPEAKER_01: Even for the party of creepy weirdos that is the Republican.
- 39:56SPEAKER_01: They've been throwing all kinds of stupid nicknames at Tallarico for months.
- 40:00SPEAKER_01: I don't even know half of them because none of them have stuck.
- 40:03SPEAKER_01: They've been trying to suggest that he's trans somehow and that happens.
- 40:07SPEAKER_01: But, you know, James Tallarico is the one that's actually secretly gay.
- 40:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 40:23SPEAKER_01: Anyway, last week,
- 40:25SPEAKER_01: Tallarico got the flu and he stepped off the campaign trail so he wouldn't collapse
- 40:29SPEAKER_01: while campaigning and probably so he wouldn't spread it around
- 40:32SPEAKER_01: to everyone around him.
- 40:33SPEAKER_01: And the right went absolutely apeshit with all sorts of stupidity.
- 40:38SPEAKER_01: Some right-wing tool named Nick Sorter.
- 40:53SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 40:54SPEAKER_01: But he whipped up fake,
- 40:56SPEAKER_01: quote unquote,
- 40:56SPEAKER_01: evidence that Tallarico was in a mental hospital in Ohio, I think it was.
- 41:01SPEAKER_01: And right-wing influencers tried to run with this story,
- 41:04SPEAKER_01: but it was nuked from orbit almost instantly.
- 41:08SPEAKER_01: Instantly, because the evidence was so clearly fucking fake.
- 41:12SPEAKER_01: It was AI genetics, like a voicemail shit.
- 41:15SPEAKER_01: The whole thing blew up in their faces so fucking fast,
- 41:19SPEAKER_01: and it all just reeked of absolute desperation.
- 41:22SPEAKER_01: Personally, I hope Sorter gets sued for libel.
- 41:25SPEAKER_01: But anyway,
- 41:26SPEAKER_01: what's really going on here is that Ken Paxton is
- 41:29SPEAKER_01: the single worst candidate they could have picked.
- 41:32SPEAKER_01: But Trump wanted him because he,
- 41:35SPEAKER_01: Paxton, is just as corrupt and scummy The Opinionated Ogre, opinionatedogre.com.
- 41:53SPEAKER_01: Two years ago, they were selling the lie that they were unstoppable and fascism was inevitable.
- 41:58SPEAKER_01: Now they're going to lose the Senate seat in the once untouchable Texas
- 42:01SPEAKER_01: while losing control of the House,
- 42:03SPEAKER_01: the Senate,
- 42:03SPEAKER_01: several governorships,
- 42:04SPEAKER_01: and hundreds of state seats in every single corner of the country.
- 42:10SPEAKER_01: So much for the thousand-year rights.
- 42:12SPEAKER_00: So we're going to pause here a minute and talk about the violence at Trump's rally
- 42:16SPEAKER_00: on Monday night.
- 42:17SPEAKER_00: Two protesters,
- 42:19SPEAKER_00: a woman, and later a man were beaten up by the crowd while Trump cheered them on.
- 42:23SPEAKER_00: And the rest of the audience laughed and roared approval.
- 42:26SPEAKER_00: I didn't know about this until this morning.
- 42:28SPEAKER_00: And then I watched the video and I was appalled.
- 42:30SPEAKER_00: It reminded me of 2016 when the protesters were being punched in the face and stuff
- 42:35SPEAKER_00: at his rallies and
- 42:37SPEAKER_01: USA, USA.
- 42:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah,
- 42:39SPEAKER_00: which is so gross.
- 42:41SPEAKER_00: It's like the most performative patriotism I've ever seen in my life.
- 42:46SPEAKER_00: And the thing is, he's not a candidate.
- 42:49SPEAKER_00: He's the president of the United States.
- 42:51SPEAKER_00: Could you imagine if a Republican was beaten up at one of Obama's rallies for
- 42:59SPEAKER_00: a candidate and then Obama cheered it on?
- 43:03SPEAKER_01: It would be a nonstop scandal for the next six months.
- 43:07SPEAKER_01: There would be demands for his impeachment and removal.
- 43:09SPEAKER_00: It's straight up Nazi shit.
- 43:12SPEAKER_00: They use violence to intimidate the public into obedience,
- 43:15SPEAKER_00: but there's zero chance that will work here.
- 43:17SPEAKER_00: We've mentioned this before.
- 43:19SPEAKER_00: America has a lot of myths about itself, some true, some not.
- 43:23SPEAKER_00: But one of the most treasured myths that we...
- 43:26SPEAKER_00: React very violently to is tyranny.
- 43:29SPEAKER_00: The Proud Boys tried to go all brown shirt and that went very badly for them.
- 43:34SPEAKER_00: Neo-Nazis have to show up unexpectedly or massive crowds
- 43:38SPEAKER_00: of counter protesters show up to chase them away.
- 43:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 43:41SPEAKER_01: Like every time,
- 43:42SPEAKER_01: every time the Neo-Nazis announced that they're going to be someplace,
- 43:45SPEAKER_01: there's a huge crowd of people waiting for them.
- 43:47SPEAKER_01: So they have to like kind of pop out of a U-Haul and surprise everybody.
- 43:51SPEAKER_01: Like no one expects the Spanish Inquisition.
- 43:53SPEAKER_01: Sorry.
- 43:53SPEAKER_01: But they, they,
- 43:56SPEAKER_01: This is the only way they can do it without a huge fucking counter rally showing up
- 44:01SPEAKER_01: and chasing away.
- 44:01SPEAKER_01: Like I've seen that a couple of times.
- 44:03SPEAKER_01: Like one time I went to,
- 44:07SPEAKER_01: fuck, I forgot where it was, but I went to what was supposed to be a Nazi rally.
- 44:11SPEAKER_01: And when I got there, there were several hundred people who were not Nazis.
- 44:17SPEAKER_01: And I couldn't actually find,
- 44:19SPEAKER_01: by the time I actually found where the Nazis were supposed to be,
- 44:22SPEAKER_01: the police had already escorted them away.
- 44:25SPEAKER_01: Because there were only a couple of them,
- 44:27SPEAKER_01: maybe a dozen or so,
- 44:29SPEAKER_01: and there were hundreds of other people looking to surround them and chase them off.
- 44:34SPEAKER_01: So the police had to escort them away.
- 44:36SPEAKER_01: And the thing that always annoys me about that is,
- 44:40SPEAKER_01: The people who got beat up at this rally, they got arrested.
- 44:44SPEAKER_01: The people who attacked them did not.
- 44:47SPEAKER_01: And that is not how it works anywhere else.
- 44:51SPEAKER_01: Like a couple of weeks ago, a fucking Nazi showed up.
- 44:55SPEAKER_01: That guy got arrested.
- 45:18SPEAKER_01: But not the neo-Nazi.
- 45:20SPEAKER_01: And it's always the same way.
- 45:22SPEAKER_01: If you show up at one of their rallies and you get beat up, you get arrested.
- 45:26SPEAKER_01: They show up at one of our rallies and get beat up, we get arrested.
- 45:29SPEAKER_01: We're the only ones that ever get arrested.
- 45:31SPEAKER_01: It's never them.
- 45:33SPEAKER_00: It's always the same.
- 45:34SPEAKER_00: And when they did get arrested for,
- 45:37SPEAKER_00: I don't know, scaling the walls of the Capitol building, they were given pardons.
- 45:42SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 45:44SPEAKER_01: But on the day it happened, a lot of them got arrested.
- 45:47SPEAKER_01: They were sent home.
- 45:49SPEAKER_01: That's true.
- 45:51SPEAKER_01: Thank you for being massive crimes.
- 45:52SPEAKER_01: Bye.
- 45:53SPEAKER_00: But if it had been Black Lives Matter scaling the Capitol.
- 45:58SPEAKER_01: They didn't even get a chance to do that.
- 46:00SPEAKER_01: When Black Lives Matter protested, they showed up with heavily armed SWATs.
- 46:05SPEAKER_00: Heavily armed.
- 46:06SPEAKER_01: They hadn't even done anything and they were ready to shoot everybody.
- 46:10SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 46:10SPEAKER_00: And this time they were just like, you know, cops on bikes.
- 46:15SPEAKER_01: Now, this new wave of mega violence, right?
- 46:19SPEAKER_01: It is similar to what was going on in 2016, right?
- 46:22SPEAKER_01: Because there hasn't really been this kind of violence in between, right?
- 46:26SPEAKER_01: At Trump rallies.
- 46:27SPEAKER_01: But the difference is, is back in 2016, They were angry and they felt ascended, right?
- 46:34SPEAKER_01: It's like, you know, Trump is on the rise.
- 46:36SPEAKER_01: We're taking back America, yada, yada, yada.
- 46:39SPEAKER_01: So they were angry and they felt empowered to beat up protesters because this is it, right?
- 46:45SPEAKER_01: This is their time.
- 46:47SPEAKER_01: They could do whatever they want.
- 46:48SPEAKER_01: They're free to be the monsters that they've always wanted to be.
- 46:53SPEAKER_01: This time is different.
- 46:54SPEAKER_01: This time they're losing.
- 46:57SPEAKER_01: They know they're losing.
- 46:59SPEAKER_01: They had their shot at the brass ring twice.
- 47:03SPEAKER_01: Twice they had their shot at the brass ring and they blew it both fucking times.
- 47:08SPEAKER_01: They're about to get curb stomped in two weeks.
- 47:12SPEAKER_01: And yeah, they're going to try to overthrow the results.
- 47:15SPEAKER_01: They're going to try and steal the election.
- 47:17SPEAKER_01: That shit is not going to fucking work.
- 47:20SPEAKER_01: And they all fucking know it.
- 47:22SPEAKER_01: This is going to They're going to get stumped.
- 47:25SPEAKER_01: And what they're afraid of is that losing means accountability.
- 47:37SPEAKER_01: And nothing scares mediocre,
- 47:40SPEAKER_01: racist white people more than being held accountable for what they've done.
- 47:45SPEAKER_01: They're terrified of what Democrats,
- 47:48SPEAKER_01: even if Democrats only do milquetoast investigations,
- 47:53SPEAKER_01: so much corruption is going to spill out.
- 47:57SPEAKER_00: Merrick Garland, are you in the room with us?
- 48:00SPEAKER_01: I'm channeling Merrick Garland.
- 48:02SPEAKER_01: I will slowly investigate.
- 48:05SPEAKER_01: But there's so much rot that even poking the surface,
- 48:10SPEAKER_01: it's all going to come spilling out like a fucking ton of maggots.
- 48:14SPEAKER_00: Like a boil.
- 48:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 48:16SPEAKER_01: And they know it.
- 48:17SPEAKER_01: They know that even just a minor cursory glance at what they're doing is going
- 48:23SPEAKER_01: to reveal more than they want to know about.
- 48:26SPEAKER_01: And people are already mad about the corruption that we see at And just even taking
- 48:32SPEAKER_01: a peek under the hood is going to reveal a hundred times more,
- 48:36SPEAKER_01: much less if Democrats start going hard.
- 48:40SPEAKER_01: It's going to be a thousand times,
- 48:42SPEAKER_01: a million times more worse than anything we can imagine so far.
- 48:46SPEAKER_01: And that's what they're afraid of because accountability terrifies Magalit.
- 48:51SPEAKER_01: They hate accountability because accountability is for other people, never for them.
- 48:57SPEAKER_00: All right, let us move on to
- 48:59SPEAKER_01: headlines for short of
- 49:03SPEAKER_00: I'm never saying it again.
- 49:06SPEAKER_01: Sorry.
- 49:06SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 49:08SPEAKER_01: Back in July,
- 49:09SPEAKER_01: there was news that Kash Patel was going to visit Russia and have a nice chat with
- 49:14SPEAKER_01: the FSB, which is weird.
- 49:16SPEAKER_01: I know that's a successor to the notoriously murderous and corrupt KGB.
- 49:21SPEAKER_01: And His trip would just so happen to land just a few weeks before the midterms.
- 49:25SPEAKER_01: Nothing odd about that, right?
- 49:27SPEAKER_01: It is a little strange that it didn't make more front pages.
- 49:29SPEAKER_01: But there's no way,
- 49:32SPEAKER_01: absolutely no way,
- 49:34SPEAKER_01: Kash Patel,
- 49:35SPEAKER_01: who's an election denier,
- 49:36SPEAKER_01: who has also made it clear he's willing to use the FBI to interfere
- 49:39SPEAKER_01: with midterm elections,
- 49:40SPEAKER_01: would be going to Russia to coordinate efforts to disrupt the November election or
- 49:45SPEAKER_01: to hand over sensitive information that Russia could use to attack the integrity of
- 49:48SPEAKER_01: the vote.
- 49:49SPEAKER_01: That can't happen.
- 49:50SPEAKER_01: After all, Paul Manafort, one of Trump's earliest campaign people.
- 49:54SPEAKER_00: Oh, man, I forgot all about him.
- 49:57SPEAKER_01: I didn't.
- 49:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he definitely 100% did not hand polling data over to Russia,
- 50:03SPEAKER_01: which totally 100% did not allow them to target Americans with disinformation
- 50:07SPEAKER_01: in 2016.
- 50:08SPEAKER_01: That totally didn't happen.
- 50:10SPEAKER_01: Just ask Michael Tracy.
- 50:11SPEAKER_01: He'll tell you.
- 50:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 50:14SPEAKER_01: Cash Patel would never,
- 50:16SPEAKER_01: ever do something like that on behalf of the Trump regime in order
- 50:19SPEAKER_01: to leave no digital footprints that could be traced.
- 50:21SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 50:22SPEAKER_01: Just as a side note, these people are all fucking traitors.
- 50:25SPEAKER_01: And when the regime falls, and it will, they should be arrested, tried, and then hung.
- 50:31SPEAKER_00: Nuremberg them all.
- 50:32SPEAKER_01: Nuremberg them all.
- 50:33SPEAKER_00: So, I shot another person last week.
- 50:36SPEAKER_00: We're super shocked about it.
- 50:38SPEAKER_00: This time,
- 50:39SPEAKER_00: they opened fire on a man in New York City while he had his five-year-old child in
- 50:42SPEAKER_00: the car.
- 50:43SPEAKER_00: 28-year-old Oscar Belgall was shot on Thursday afternoon, escorted.
- 50:48SPEAKER_00: Sound familiar?
- 50:48SPEAKER_00: Amazing.
- 50:49SPEAKER_00: These fucking people.
- 50:50SPEAKER_00: They're just animals.
- 51:15SPEAKER_00: Well, that's exactly what they did to Wilbur Rafael Garces Perez in Austin, Texas last month.
- 51:21SPEAKER_00: And he had to be re-hospitalized.
- 51:23SPEAKER_00: Remember, he was shot in the back and then suffered paralysis on one side of his body.
- 51:28SPEAKER_00: And they had to re-hospitalize him because he couldn't even walk.
- 51:31SPEAKER_01: Didn't they just leave him laying on the floor?
- 51:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 51:35SPEAKER_00: Immigration advocates have pointed out that the ICE agent looked like
- 51:38SPEAKER_00: a construction worker or a bank robber.
- 51:42SPEAKER_00: He was wearing all black with a reflective construction vest on,
- 51:46SPEAKER_00: like the orange ones, and carrying a long gun.
- 51:49SPEAKER_00: He literally looked like a bank robber from a movie.
- 51:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they just ran up on the guy's car.
- 51:54SPEAKER_01: He had no idea what was going on.
- 51:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah, just ran up on his car.
- 51:58SPEAKER_00: DHS claimed that he had gang ties and was involved in the shooting of
- 52:02SPEAKER_00: an off-duty ICE agent in Central Park.
- 52:04SPEAKER_00: As usual, they haven't provided any evidence of that.
- 52:07SPEAKER_00: It's true that he has a criminal record, but that doesn't fucking matter.
- 52:11SPEAKER_00: In this country, we don't gun And you know what?
- 52:13SPEAKER_00: If we start using that standard, do we get to start shooting Proud Boys?
- 52:16SPEAKER_00: I feel like that's not the case.
- 52:31SPEAKER_00: No, don't be silly.
- 52:32SPEAKER_00: So a federal judge has blocked his deportation for now.
- 52:36SPEAKER_00: But as we say every single week,
- 52:38SPEAKER_00: and we said five minutes ago,
- 52:40SPEAKER_00: when it falls,
- 52:41SPEAKER_00: and it will, we have to go through every file and... Nuremberg them all.
- 52:45SPEAKER_00: Nuremberg them all.
- 52:46SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 53:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, all year.
- 53:02SPEAKER_01: He's at it again last week when he tweeted some crazy fucking screed
- 53:05SPEAKER_01: about Somalian immigrants causing,
- 53:07SPEAKER_01: quote, violence, murder, and mayhem and demanding people, quote, fight back.
- 53:12SPEAKER_01: None of that's happening, of course.
- 53:14SPEAKER_01: None of that is fucking happening.
- 53:15SPEAKER_01: This is the same, you know.
- 53:16SPEAKER_01: All the cities are burning to the ground and that old nonsense.
- 53:19SPEAKER_01: Now,
- 53:20SPEAKER_01: Representative Omar is a particular target of Trump's because she's a black woman
- 53:24SPEAKER_01: who isn't afraid of him.
- 53:25SPEAKER_01: And she calls him out on his bullshit and lies and corruption all the fucking time.
- 53:30SPEAKER_01: Trump hates women.
- 53:31SPEAKER_01: He hates black people and he hates people smarter than him.
- 53:35SPEAKER_01: And Omar is all three.
- 53:37SPEAKER_01: So the regime,
- 53:38SPEAKER_01: of course,
- 53:38SPEAKER_01: is trying to fabricate a case so they can strip Omar of her citizenship
- 53:42SPEAKER_01: because she came here as a kid and deport her.
- 53:46SPEAKER_01: It won't.
- 53:46SPEAKER_01: And it worked for Hillary Clinton, so...
- 54:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, exactly.
- 54:12SPEAKER_01: And the DOJ has really strict guidelines about doing this sort of thing
- 54:16SPEAKER_01: within 60 days of an election, specifically as to not influence the vote.
- 54:20SPEAKER_01: Comey, James Comey, ignored this in 2016, and here we are doing it again.
- 54:25SPEAKER_01: We upheld We'll see you next time.
- 54:45SPEAKER_01: I've written about this before.
- 54:46SPEAKER_01: Trump shattering another norm,
- 54:48SPEAKER_01: another taboo, is going to haunt Republicans for a very, very long time.
- 54:54SPEAKER_01: The GOP is by far the more corrupt party, filled with literal traitor.
- 55:02SPEAKER_01: They have been able to hide behind the norms of one party not investigating
- 55:06SPEAKER_01: the other for decades unless the crime is particularly egregious.
- 55:10SPEAKER_01: And even then, they barely get investigated.
- 55:12SPEAKER_01: Now, that's all gone.
- 55:15SPEAKER_01: They burned that away.
- 55:17SPEAKER_01: They threw it out the window.
- 55:18SPEAKER_01: And now it's just going to be open season on all the bullshit that they do.
- 55:22SPEAKER_01: When the regime falls, we keep saying it will.
- 55:26SPEAKER_01: Republicans are going to howl.
- 55:33SPEAKER_01: It's normal now, quote unquote.
- 55:35SPEAKER_01: Trump made it normal to use the DOJ to persecute your political enemy.
- 55:40SPEAKER_01: That Republicans will have committed actual crimes won't matter to
- 55:44SPEAKER_01: the This is just what we do as a country now, right?
- 55:48SPEAKER_01: However,
- 55:49SPEAKER_01: it's going to make a huge difference when it actually gets to the courts
- 55:54SPEAKER_01: because unlike Trump's made-up investigations into Democrats,
- 55:59SPEAKER_01: Republicans Do commit felony after felony after felony.
- 56:04SPEAKER_01: And when the evidence is put in front of a jury, Republicans are going to go to prison.
- 56:09SPEAKER_01: They should be very worried about this.
- 56:10SPEAKER_01: And you know how much they're going to be worried by how loudly they scream
- 56:15SPEAKER_01: about getting back to normal when Trump is gone.
- 56:19SPEAKER_01: The screaming is going to shatter eardrums in Australia.
- 56:23SPEAKER_01: And Democrats, they better fucking ignore it if they know what is good for them.
- 56:29SPEAKER_01: Because no one is going to be interested in getting back to normal.
- 56:34SPEAKER_01: They're going to be interested in Nuremberg fucking trial.
- 56:37SPEAKER_01: That's what we're going to be interested in.
- 56:39SPEAKER_01: Not business as usual or looking forward for the good of the nation.
- 56:43SPEAKER_01: We are going to want Nuremberg trial.
- 56:45SPEAKER_01: These people have to go to fucking prison.
- 56:47SPEAKER_00: So in episode 116,
- 56:49SPEAKER_00: we told you about Trump violating the Hatch Act by running political ads dedicated
- 56:53SPEAKER_00: to himself.
- 56:54SPEAKER_00: He's
- 56:55SPEAKER_01: such a twit.
- 56:56SPEAKER_00: They were public service announcement, even though they were 2024 ads repackaged.
- 57:01SPEAKER_00: But, you know, whatever.
- 57:02SPEAKER_00: U.S. District Judge Jennifer Rocon,
- 57:06SPEAKER_00: we'll go with that,
- 57:07SPEAKER_00: ordered the Department of Homeland Security to cancel the rest of
- 57:09SPEAKER_00: the $20 million ad buy and prohibited the regime from restarting the campaign.
- 57:14SPEAKER_00: They had ads going out that night, and she said, no, they're not going out.
- 57:19SPEAKER_00: They were sued.
- 57:20SPEAKER_00: The regime was sued by a litany of nonprofits and at least one Democratic candidate in Alabama.
- 57:26SPEAKER_00: Over the ads, but they claimed that they intended to stop running the ads soon.
- 57:31SPEAKER_00: However, the judge's order prohibited them from doing any more at all.
- 57:36SPEAKER_00: And it's great that the judge stopped the ads from airing,
- 57:39SPEAKER_00: but Democrats still have to investigate this.
- 57:41SPEAKER_00: Because as Ogre just said, we can't just get back to normal.
- 57:45SPEAKER_00: They have to be punished for violating the law.
- 57:48SPEAKER_00: We are all so sick and tired of watching this shit and watching them get away
- 57:53SPEAKER_00: with everything they do.
- 57:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's it's fucking crazy.
- 57:57SPEAKER_01: I mean, Trump just cut down 500 fucking trees.
- 58:00SPEAKER_01: My God, crazy.
- 58:02SPEAKER_01: A judge said, do not cut any trees down.
- 58:05SPEAKER_01: And then he went and did it anyway, because once you do it, it's done.
- 58:08SPEAKER_01: You can't put the tree back up.
- 58:10SPEAKER_01: So sorry, my bad.
- 58:12SPEAKER_01: And no one's going to go to jail for it.
- 58:14SPEAKER_00: And remember, I told you that he was probably going to cut down the cherry trees there.
- 58:17SPEAKER_01: I'm sure he, well, the cherry blossoms.
- 58:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 58:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 58:21SPEAKER_01: I'm sure he wants to.
- 58:22SPEAKER_01: If he didn't cut some of them down,
- 58:23SPEAKER_01: I'm sure he's going to order them to do it because he's an asshole
- 58:27SPEAKER_01: and he doesn't care.
- 58:28SPEAKER_01: It's like everything he does is designed to hurt the public.
- 58:32SPEAKER_01: He wants to hurt the public because they don't like him.
- 58:35SPEAKER_01: We don't like him.
- 58:36SPEAKER_01: So therefore, he's going to make them suffer.
- 58:39SPEAKER_01: And that's one of the ways he'll do it.
- 58:40SPEAKER_01: He'll just turn the golf course into a tacky,
- 58:42SPEAKER_01: tacky, shitty golf course and then make it exclusive instead of public.
- 58:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 58:46SPEAKER_00: And that's the thing about, I mean,
- 58:47SPEAKER_00: I don't live in DC,
- 58:48SPEAKER_00: but from what I understand is that it's a really popular birding trail.
- 58:52SPEAKER_00: Well, it used to be.
- 58:54SPEAKER_00: And the public uses it for all sorts of things,
- 58:56SPEAKER_00: running, jogging, taking their kids through there, golfing.
- 59:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 59:01SPEAKER_01: It's a really nice area.
- 59:03SPEAKER_01: So of course he wants to destroy it because why have nice things
- 59:06SPEAKER_01: when you can have Not nice things.
- 59:08SPEAKER_00: Tacky things.
- 59:08SPEAKER_00: He's going to make a Panera.
- 59:10SPEAKER_00: It's going to be a Panera, a really tacky Panera patio.
- 59:15SPEAKER_00: I actually think Panera's patios are nicer than what Trump's done.
- 59:20SPEAKER_00: Actually.
- 59:21SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 59:22SPEAKER_01: Let us move on to some good news.
- 59:24SPEAKER_01: Trolls be gone.
- 59:26SPEAKER_01: Now, you may or may not have noticed.
- 59:29SPEAKER_01: I mean,
- 59:29SPEAKER_01: I haven't seen it on Substack and I'm not really on other social media platforms,
- 59:33SPEAKER_01: but you may have noticed your social media platform of choice has been much quieter
- 59:36SPEAKER_01: and If that's the case for you, all due credit to Ukraine.
- 59:52SPEAKER_01: And just like that,
- 59:59SPEAKER_01: a huge amount of automated computer traffic from Russia went dead,
- 1:00:03SPEAKER_01: and a whole lot of people immediately noticed traffic
- 1:00:05SPEAKER_01: to right-wing websites plummeting, and a whole lot of trolls went poof.
- 1:00:09SPEAKER_01: There's some dispute of whether this is actually happening or not,
- 1:00:13SPEAKER_01: but an awful lot of people reporting the level
- 1:00:16SPEAKER_01: of harassment has virtually disappeared.
- 1:00:19SPEAKER_01: I haven't noticed it, but I don't get that kind of troll storm on Substack.
- 1:00:24SPEAKER_01: I get trolls, but I don't get troll storms.
- 1:00:27SPEAKER_01: So since Republicans rely heavily on the perception of public support
- 1:00:32SPEAKER_01: for their most racist and misogynistic bullshit and having the majority
- 1:00:36SPEAKER_01: of their public support vanish right before the midterms is potentially
- 1:00:41SPEAKER_01: a huge problem.
- 1:00:43SPEAKER_01: Without the amplification of Russian bots to manufacture the appearance
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_01: of widespread support,
- 1:00:49SPEAKER_01: what little shreds of momentum they had,
- 1:00:52SPEAKER_01: not that there was much to begin with,
- 1:00:53SPEAKER_01: is going to disappear and burning through half a billion dollars on ads.
- 1:00:58SPEAKER_01: Is not going to move that needle one fucking inch, which is very, very, very sad.
- 1:01:05SPEAKER_01: Now, people have been trying to point out that just because a whole lot
- 1:01:10SPEAKER_01: of fake Russian Support has disappeared does not mean
- 1:01:15SPEAKER_01: that there is no actual real support.
- 1:01:19SPEAKER_01: Like Trump has millions of psychotically devoted cult members at his beck and call.
- 1:01:26SPEAKER_01: That's true.
- 1:01:27SPEAKER_01: That hasn't And we're going to have to deal with these people for decades
- 1:01:32SPEAKER_01: after Trump is dead and gone.
- 1:01:43SPEAKER_01: That amplification, which is one of the reasons I really, really, really want Russia to fall.
- 1:01:50SPEAKER_01: If their government topples and they get replaced by someone less hostile,
- 1:01:55SPEAKER_01: they lost a huge benefactor when Viktor Orban Bond disappeared
- 1:01:59SPEAKER_01: because he was funneling a lot of money and support towards global fascism.
- 1:02:04SPEAKER_01: Russia is another huge benefactor for global fascism.
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_01: Without it, the global movement takes a huge fucking hit.
- 1:02:13SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 1:02:16SPEAKER_01: One last thing here.
- 1:02:17SPEAKER_01: When this is all over,
- 1:02:19SPEAKER_01: a large part of why the fascist coup to overthrow the United States
- 1:02:23SPEAKER_01: of America will have failed is because these people are really,
- 1:02:26SPEAKER_01: really fucking stupid.
- 1:02:29SPEAKER_01: Two weeks ago,
- 1:02:29SPEAKER_01: we told you about Senator Eric Schmidt clowning himself trying to catch Jack Smith
- 1:02:34SPEAKER_01: in a perjury trap.
- 1:02:35SPEAKER_01: We also mentioned that Trump had signed a grand AI declaration
- 1:02:39SPEAKER_01: about superintelligence and yet somehow misspelled the word United.
- 1:02:44SPEAKER_01: Substack, Substack, The Opinionated Ogre, opinionatedogre.com
- 1:02:59SPEAKER_01: They
- 1:03:06SPEAKER_01: ran them in Portland, Oregon,
- 1:03:09SPEAKER_01: because we live in the stupidest fucking timeline,
- 1:03:12SPEAKER_01: and fascists are just the dumbest fucking people imaginable.
- 1:03:16SPEAKER_01: So, keep going, guys.
- 1:03:18SPEAKER_01: You're doing great.
- 1:03:20SPEAKER_00: They really fucking Well, on to self-care of the week.
- 1:03:24SPEAKER_00: And I guess I will go first.
- 1:03:25SPEAKER_00: Yay!
- 1:03:26SPEAKER_00: So I had a bestie day on Saturday morning.
- 1:03:30SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 1:03:30SPEAKER_00: We went to the Dollar Tree to buy Halloween decorations for a party
- 1:03:33SPEAKER_00: that my best friend is throwing for Halloween.
- 1:03:36SPEAKER_00: Then we went to the farmer's market with...
- 1:03:40SPEAKER_00: When we went in,
- 1:03:40SPEAKER_00: I thought her strategy to eat the samples at the farmer's market was actually weird.
- 1:03:47SPEAKER_00: But it was actually a really good idea because by the time we made our way back
- 1:03:52SPEAKER_00: to their samples with our actual cart, we did impulse buy.
- 1:03:55SPEAKER_00: And then after the farmer's market,
- 1:03:57SPEAKER_00: we went to this really cute little local coffee shop and she bought us lattes
- 1:04:01SPEAKER_00: and cannolis.
- 1:04:02SPEAKER_00: I'm not a cannoli fan, but these were banging.
- 1:04:06SPEAKER_01: They're so hard to find good ones.
- 1:04:08SPEAKER_00: They were like the shell was crisp and not stale.
- 1:04:14SPEAKER_01: More soggy, which is even worse.
- 1:04:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the filling was really good.
- 1:04:18SPEAKER_00: It was actually so good.
- 1:04:20SPEAKER_00: I would go back and buy them again.
- 1:04:21SPEAKER_00: And I have never been like, oh, let me go buy a cannoli.
- 1:04:26SPEAKER_01: Mrs. Ogre loves cannolis.
- 1:04:28SPEAKER_01: She loves them.
- 1:04:30SPEAKER_01: Finding good ones is so hard out of here.
- 1:04:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they were really, really good.
- 1:04:34SPEAKER_00: I was very impressed with them.
- 1:04:38SPEAKER_00: The coffee shop was cute.
- 1:04:39SPEAKER_00: Then we came back to my house and printed spooky pictures and put them in frames
- 1:04:43SPEAKER_00: for Halloween decorations.
- 1:04:45SPEAKER_00: And then on Monday, I watched the motherfucking Buffalo Bills beat the LA Rams.
- 1:04:52SPEAKER_00: We won 37 to 34 in overtime, but it was not an easy win, let me tell you.
- 1:04:57SPEAKER_01: Oh my God, the text from you was hilarious.
- 1:05:03SPEAKER_00: I think I sent him a message at like 1130 at night.
- 1:05:07SPEAKER_00: And I was like, this fucking team.
- 1:05:09SPEAKER_01: It was so fucking funny.
- 1:05:11SPEAKER_01: I saw it the next morning.
- 1:05:12SPEAKER_01: I was like, huh, that's interesting.
- 1:05:15SPEAKER_00: And then I sent him another one that said, ah, nevermind.
- 1:05:17SPEAKER_00: They won.
- 1:05:20SPEAKER_01: It was, it was, it was 1130 PM, this fucking team.
- 1:05:26SPEAKER_01: And then 17 minutes later, I fucking love this team.
- 1:05:30SPEAKER_01: I was like, wow, that is some, that is some real, that is some real whiplash right there.
- 1:05:38SPEAKER_00: Listen, guys, my team is like all day.
- 1:05:41SPEAKER_00: I'm like, my team is going to play.
- 1:05:43SPEAKER_00: My team is going to play.
- 1:05:44SPEAKER_00: My team is going to play.
- 1:05:45SPEAKER_00: My team is going to play.
- 1:05:46SPEAKER_00: And then I'm sitting there watching the game like,
- 1:05:48SPEAKER_00: oh, my God, what's happening to my life right now?
- 1:05:53SPEAKER_00: Oh, my God.
- 1:05:55SPEAKER_00: And then at the end, Josh Allen runs.
- 1:05:58SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, we won.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you got that.
- 1:06:01SPEAKER_01: That was like some real bipolar shit going on.
- 1:06:02SPEAKER_01: I was like, whoa.
- 1:06:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:06:07SPEAKER_00: I think I posted something on Instagram that said, relaxes stressfully.
- 1:06:17SPEAKER_00: But yeah, it's crazy.
- 1:06:18SPEAKER_00: It was a good game because the Rams are one of the best teams in the league.
- 1:06:23SPEAKER_00: They are a Super Bowl contender.
- 1:06:25SPEAKER_00: There's been a lot of talk about them.
- 1:06:27SPEAKER_00: So it wasn't like we were playing some, you know, it's not, I don't.
- 1:06:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we were playing a really good team.
- 1:06:36SPEAKER_00: I mean, the Rams coaches often called one of the best coaches in the NFL.
- 1:06:41SPEAKER_00: So it was a very good game.
- 1:06:43SPEAKER_00: One thing that I didn't mention in my notes, I did watch a movie.
- 1:06:47SPEAKER_00: This week, it was called White Man Walking.
- 1:06:50SPEAKER_00: It's on Amazon Prime.
- 1:06:51SPEAKER_00: I highly, highly recommend watching it.
- 1:06:54SPEAKER_00: It's about this white guy who after the George Floyd murder,
- 1:06:59SPEAKER_00: he was like, hey, what can I do to support the black community?
- 1:07:02SPEAKER_00: So what he decided to do was walk, I think, 1,500 miles in two months.
- 1:07:08SPEAKER_00: It's a lot of walking.
- 1:07:09SPEAKER_00: I'm proud when I get in six miles.
- 1:07:11SPEAKER_00: He was walking like 25 miles a day.
- 1:07:13SPEAKER_00: It's wild.
- 1:07:14SPEAKER_00: His feet were crazy.
- 1:07:16SPEAKER_00: His feet look gross.
- 1:07:17SPEAKER_00: They show them on the documentary.
- 1:07:20SPEAKER_00: So he was walking 1,500 miles with a Black Lives Matter shirt on.
- 1:07:25SPEAKER_00: And the way that white people reacted to the shirt,
- 1:07:28SPEAKER_00: the way that the N-word rolled off of their tongues,
- 1:07:32SPEAKER_00: I was like, I do highly recommend watching it and then play it at Thanksgiving
- 1:07:40SPEAKER_00: for like your racist cousins and uncles who don't think that racism exists anymore.
- 1:07:45SPEAKER_01: If only if only I talk to any of them.
- 1:07:47SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 1:07:48SPEAKER_01: Go Bills.
- 1:07:49SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 1:07:50SPEAKER_01: Saturday.
- 1:07:50SPEAKER_01: Speaking of sports, Jordan played soccer.
- 1:07:53SPEAKER_01: We had like Special Olympics soccer.
- 1:07:56SPEAKER_01: Your wife sent me a picture.
- 1:07:57SPEAKER_01: He looked so cute.
- 1:07:58SPEAKER_01: It was it was it was cute.
- 1:08:00SPEAKER_01: He was definitely the MVP of his games.
- 1:08:03SPEAKER_01: He scored more goals than pretty much everyone on both teams combined,
- 1:08:06SPEAKER_01: both games that he played.
- 1:08:08SPEAKER_01: And it wasn't that he was a ball hog or anything.
- 1:08:10SPEAKER_01: It's just he was the only kid there who knew how to dribble the ball and kick it
- 1:08:13SPEAKER_01: into the net, which surprised me.
- 1:08:15SPEAKER_01: He surprised the shit out of us.
- 1:08:16SPEAKER_01: We know Jordan loves to play basketball.
- 1:08:19SPEAKER_01: He loves to play basketball.
- 1:08:22SPEAKER_01: We had not seen him play soccer before.
- 1:08:25SPEAKER_01: Clearly, he does it in school.
- 1:08:27SPEAKER_01: So clearly, he's been learning to play in school.
- 1:08:30SPEAKER_01: And he was up there on the field by himself doing drills.
- 1:08:34SPEAKER_01: And we're watching him.
- 1:08:35SPEAKER_01: I'm like, you know, he is doing that.
- 1:08:38SPEAKER_01: Because I've seen people drill before,
- 1:08:41SPEAKER_01: like kicking the ball up and down,
- 1:08:43SPEAKER_01: not up and down, but back and forth and putting one foot up, another foot up.
- 1:08:46SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, huh, Jordan's not very coordinated, but he's doing that pretty well for Jordan.
- 1:08:52SPEAKER_01: And then he's...
- 1:08:53SPEAKER_01: He just ran the ball down the field.
- 1:08:55SPEAKER_01: Not fast, because Jordan doesn't run quickly.
- 1:08:58SPEAKER_01: Even though he's 6'1", he doesn't run.
- 1:09:01SPEAKER_01: He jogs.
- 1:09:03SPEAKER_01: But he drilled it down, he dribbled it down the field, and then he kicked it into the net.
- 1:09:08SPEAKER_01: Over and over and over.
- 1:09:09SPEAKER_01: And it was just like, son of a bitch.
- 1:09:11SPEAKER_01: He knows how to kick.
- 1:09:11SPEAKER_01: Like, I can't do that.
- 1:09:13SPEAKER_01: I can't dribble the ball for more than like 10 feet without losing control of it at all.
- 1:09:17SPEAKER_01: But he was the same thing on the stage.
- 1:09:19SPEAKER_01: She was like, I can't do that.
- 1:09:20SPEAKER_01: And it's like, but Jordan can.
- 1:09:21SPEAKER_01: So we were like, yay, Jordan.
- 1:09:23SPEAKER_00: Well, you know, clearly Jordan has a Latino soccer gene.
- 1:09:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:09:28SPEAKER_01: And I mean, clearly he got it from me and it skipped a generation because I don't got it.
- 1:09:33SPEAKER_01: But now we were supposed to go to the Renaissance Fair on Sunday.
- 1:09:38SPEAKER_01: But the last time we went, it was raining and it was a mud pit.
- 1:09:41SPEAKER_01: And apparently it's just been raining almost every single weekend.
- 1:09:44SPEAKER_00: Oh, it's been rainy.
- 1:09:46SPEAKER_00: It's been so rainy.
- 1:09:47SPEAKER_00: It might be.
- 1:09:48SPEAKER_00: Is it this weekend, too?
- 1:09:49SPEAKER_00: Because it's not raining this weekend, I don't think.
- 1:09:51SPEAKER_01: Well, we can't go.
- 1:09:52SPEAKER_01: Like the tickets are all sold out months in advance.
- 1:09:55SPEAKER_01: So.
- 1:09:56SPEAKER_01: Um, the place was just, like,
- 1:09:58SPEAKER_01: I saw a video,
- 1:09:59SPEAKER_01: someone took a video of what it looked like,
- 1:10:00SPEAKER_01: someone who works there, and it's just rivers of mud.
- 1:10:04SPEAKER_01: So they canceled it, so we didn't get to go.
- 1:10:07SPEAKER_01: We played Dungeon of Dragons instead, and that night we watched The Avengers.
- 1:10:10SPEAKER_01: Since Anastasia is like really into chewing her way through the MCU movies.
- 1:10:17SPEAKER_01: Like last night, you know, the recording is on Wednesday.
- 1:10:19SPEAKER_01: So last night was Tuesday.
- 1:10:20SPEAKER_01: We watched Iron Man 3 and she's just like, what's next?
- 1:10:24SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, oh, yes.
- 1:10:25SPEAKER_01: Woohoo!
- 1:10:26SPEAKER_01: She's into it.
- 1:10:26SPEAKER_01: Monday night,
- 1:10:27SPEAKER_01: I took Anastasia into DC to the Warner Theater and we watched My Hero Academia
- 1:10:32SPEAKER_01: in concert.
- 1:10:33SPEAKER_01: That's an anime and they just took clips from the show and they played the music
- 1:10:38SPEAKER_01: with a live orchestra and the band and whatnot.
- 1:10:40SPEAKER_01: If you've never seen anything in concert, like any movie or show, you are missing out.
- 1:10:49SPEAKER_01: This started a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away with Star Wars in concert.
- 1:10:56SPEAKER_01: As far as I know,
- 1:10:56SPEAKER_01: that was like the first time they had done that,
- 1:10:59SPEAKER_01: where they took a movie, played the movie, and had a live orchestra play the music.
- 1:11:04SPEAKER_00: There's Romeo and Juliet is coming out and Donna wants to go see it.
- 1:11:08SPEAKER_01: Yes, I actually am taking Anastasia to see that.
- 1:11:11SPEAKER_01: It's going to be in March.
- 1:11:13SPEAKER_01: Her birthday's in February, and we're going to go see that.
- 1:11:16SPEAKER_01: It's the 1996 Romeo and Juliet, the one with Leonardo DiCaprio.
- 1:11:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I thought about going to see it.
- 1:11:22SPEAKER_01: Oh my God, that movie's amazing.
- 1:11:23SPEAKER_01: Have you seen the movie?
- 1:11:24SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
- 1:11:25SPEAKER_01: Oh my God, I love the movie.
- 1:11:26SPEAKER_01: So getting to watch that in concert is going to be fantastic.
- 1:11:30SPEAKER_01: But they do anime, they do sci-fi, they do rom-coms.
- 1:11:35SPEAKER_01: I wanted to get Lila and June tickets to go see Love Actually.
- 1:11:40SPEAKER_01: That's one of the best movies ever.
- 1:11:41SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 1:11:43SPEAKER_01: I've never seen it, but I know Lila loves that movie.
- 1:11:45SPEAKER_01: And it's like,
- 1:11:45SPEAKER_01: that would be such an awesome date night for them to go see that down in Richmond.
- 1:11:51SPEAKER_01: And I have to figure that out, whether or not she can actually make it or not.
- 1:11:55SPEAKER_01: But They do this for all sorts of movies.
- 1:11:59SPEAKER_01: Mostly it tends to be sci-fi and anime,
- 1:12:02SPEAKER_01: but they do other stuff like, again, Romeo and Juliet, Love Actually.
- 1:12:07SPEAKER_01: It's not just niche genres.
- 1:12:10SPEAKER_01: They do all sorts of stuff.
- 1:12:11SPEAKER_01: So if you have an opportunity to go see something,
- 1:12:15SPEAKER_01: a movie that you like,
- 1:12:16SPEAKER_01: that you're like,
- 1:12:17SPEAKER_01: I love that movie,
- 1:12:18SPEAKER_01: and you get a chance to see it in concert,
- 1:12:20SPEAKER_01: you absolutely should go see it in concert.
- 1:12:23SPEAKER_01: It's amazing.
- 1:12:24SPEAKER_00: Didn't you bring Jordan to see something in concert?
- 1:12:28SPEAKER_00: A television show or movie or something in concert?
- 1:12:31SPEAKER_01: No, no.
- 1:12:32SPEAKER_01: We took him to see the Imagination Movers, but that was the actual guys up on stage.
- 1:12:37SPEAKER_01: That's what it was.
- 1:12:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we haven't taken him to one of these things in concert.
- 1:12:41SPEAKER_01: We haven't seen one of those yet.
- 1:12:44SPEAKER_01: If we do, we would definitely...
- 1:12:45SPEAKER_01: If they did Dora the Explorer in concert, I would definitely take him to see that.
- 1:12:49SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, I love Dora the Explorer.
- 1:12:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he still watches that.
- 1:12:53SPEAKER_01: They did Yo Gabba Gabba in concert.
- 1:12:56SPEAKER_01: I would absolutely take them to go see Yo Gabba Gabba in concert,
- 1:12:59SPEAKER_01: but until we find something, we will.
- 1:13:02SPEAKER_01: They're doing Pepper Pig.
- 1:13:03SPEAKER_01: Pepper Pig's going to have something in the theater in a couple of months,
- 1:13:06SPEAKER_01: so we're probably going to take them to go see Pepper Pig because he's like,
- 1:13:10SPEAKER_01: whatever.
- 1:13:12SPEAKER_01: He's still stuck in the stuff he watches.
- 1:13:14SPEAKER_01: He's still stuck at five or six years old, but...
- 1:13:18SPEAKER_00: My best friend, as you know, she's an RBT who's going to school to be a BCBA.
- 1:13:22SPEAKER_00: And we were talking about this the other day.
- 1:13:23SPEAKER_00: And we were talking about how a lot of parents with adult kids
- 1:13:27SPEAKER_00: who have autism are like, oh, all he wants to do is watch SpongeBob.
- 1:13:31SPEAKER_00: And she's like, we like what we like.
- 1:13:33SPEAKER_00: Let him watch SpongeBob.
- 1:13:35SPEAKER_00: As long as he's not masturbating to SpongeBob, it's fine.
- 1:13:37SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 1:13:38SPEAKER_01: It's just whatever they want to watch, whatever they want to watch.
- 1:13:41SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 1:13:43SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 1:13:43SPEAKER_01: What are you going to do?
- 1:13:44SPEAKER_01: All right.
