- 0:07Speaker 1: Hey, this is Danielle Harris from some of the Halloween
- 0:10Speaker 1: movies and you are listening to Movie Meltdown.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Good evening.
- 0:26Speaker 3: The following feature has been rated R by the Motion
- 0:29Speaker 3: Picture Association of America. It is intended for mature audiences
- 0:34Speaker 3: and parental discretion is advised.
- 0:36Speaker 4: Our nuclear reactor pumping out one million kilowatts of power.
- 1:06Speaker 5: To provide more cooling in the containment chamber.
- 1:08Speaker 6: To your sentinels, we have a rebound. Anyway, his new
- 1:11Speaker 6: book is called The Devil Walks Among Us.
- 1:13Speaker 5: It's available somewhere. Please welcome Dr. Samuel Loomis.
- 1:19Speaker 2: The Devil Walks Among Us.
- 1:48Speaker 5: What's up? Welcome to Movie Meltdown. I'm Brian.
- 1:50Speaker 7: I'm Nora.
- 1:51Speaker 8: And I'm Phillip.
- 1:52Speaker 5: And Happy Halloween!
- 1:53Speaker 2: Happy Halloween!
- 1:54Speaker 5: It is a big Halloween party. It actually kind of
- 1:57Speaker 5: is this time. Normally it's just a very fancy Halloween episode.
- 2:01Speaker 5: But this time, things have changed slightly. Very quickly, actually.
- 2:05Speaker 5: And now it's become a whole Halloween party. It's true. So,
- 2:08Speaker 5: you can hear Dead Man's Party going. You know it's
- 2:10Speaker 5: a good Halloween party if Dead Man's Party is somewhere
- 2:12Speaker 5: in the background going on right now. But this is
- 2:16Speaker 5: the most special episode ever. Obviously. Because we've spent a
- 2:23Speaker 5: long time. Seems like 20 years. A long time. Years
- 2:26Speaker 5: in our head, at least. Years and years hearing about
- 2:28Speaker 5: a certain character that, um... Usually we just get updates,
- 2:33Speaker 5: which has become my favorite. I don't know if this
- 2:35Speaker 5: person knows it, but there's a running update of like,
- 2:38Speaker 5: at what point did this poor bastard walk into the
- 2:40Speaker 5: room while you were watching some god-awful movie? And then
- 2:42Speaker 5: we have to be like, what the hell is this?
- 2:45Speaker 5: So that person is actually here. That's why we know
- 2:48Speaker 5: it's a party. Nora, would you like to introduce this character?
- 2:52Speaker 7: Oh, drum roll, please.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Drum roll, please. It's my husband. It's Pierce.
- 2:58Speaker 9: Hi, everyone.
- 3:00Speaker 6: Thanks for having me on. I love the podcast. And yes,
- 3:04Speaker 6: the horror movies that Nora makes me watch, some of
- 3:07Speaker 6: them are really bad.
- 3:09Speaker 5: But some of them are really good.
- 3:11Speaker 6: So I think you have a good slice of the range.
- 3:16Speaker 5: Telling them, I suppose. We know how bad most of
- 3:20Speaker 5: them are. We're the other idiots that are watching them
- 3:22Speaker 5: with her. But Those other characters out there, hopefully. Actually,
- 3:26Speaker 5: I just heard from someone today about our previous episode,
- 3:30Speaker 5: and they went, yeah, I can't get through She-Beast. They went,
- 3:35Speaker 5: I'm just going to listen to the show for the wrap-up.
- 3:37Speaker 5: I'm like, well, I mean, we had fun with it,
- 3:39Speaker 5: so you're coming out in the better on this deal, really,
- 3:42Speaker 5: because that was not the best of this movie ever.
- 3:46Speaker 7: It's special.
- 3:47Speaker 5: I think that's what I said. I was like, we
- 3:48Speaker 5: actually had fun with it because it's so ridiculous. More
- 3:51Speaker 5: so than some of the other sad and sorry ones.
- 3:54Speaker 5: So sometimes maybe we're saving you guys out there. Maybe
- 3:57Speaker 5: you'll just watch enough of it to go, oh no,
- 4:00Speaker 5: I didn't have sense enough to turn this off. Whereas
- 4:02Speaker 5: we don't, so we can give you the overview once
- 4:06Speaker 5: you turn it off like a normal human being.
- 4:08Speaker 7: It's a public service.
- 4:10Speaker 2: You're welcome.
- 4:13Speaker 5: So, I guess, following suit with every Halloween episode we've
- 4:18Speaker 5: ever had, Candy... Yay. So you supplied green candy first
- 4:22Speaker 5: and foremost. Yes.
- 4:23Speaker 7: Ghoulish green.
- 4:25Speaker 5: But I also threatened to bring more ghost toast. So
- 4:28Speaker 5: there you go. Yay. Because Pierce hadn't had any ghost
- 4:31Speaker 5: toast that I know of.
- 4:32Speaker 8: You're missing out.
- 4:33Speaker 6: Oh, I've heard descriptions.
- 4:34Speaker 5: So there you go. And then this one I saw yesterday.
- 4:38Speaker 5: I was like, we've done some of these tastings before.
- 4:41Speaker 5: But I have not seen the Monster Mash special edition
- 4:45Speaker 5: of these Jelly Bellies.
- 4:46Speaker 8: Oh, God.
- 4:47Speaker 5: Now, I don't think any of them are supposed to.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I know.
- 4:51Speaker 5: They're kind of weird. And yet, this is about as many.
- 4:54Speaker 5: This small bag is about as many as I ever need.
- 4:57Speaker 5: And I still probably won't get through all these. So
- 4:58Speaker 5: according to this, Caramel Corn, bitchin'. Green Apple. Jewel Grape Soda.
- 5:07Speaker 5: Jewel Orange. Wild Blackberry. I'm on board so far.
- 5:13Speaker 6: What's up with Juul?
- 5:15Speaker 5: Is this sponsored by a soda company or something? I'm
- 5:18Speaker 5: not familiar with. We can bust into these. Maybe they're
- 5:24Speaker 5: on board with them. Kids, not only do you need candy,
- 5:28Speaker 5: you also need to do a little inhaling on this.
- 5:31Speaker 6: We have lots of things that we put our name on.
- 5:33Speaker 8: I'm both relieved and disappointed by the flavor offerings because
- 5:37Speaker 8: these are very.
- 5:38Speaker 5: Yeah, there's no like earwigs.
- 5:40Speaker 8: There's no like brains.
- 5:42Speaker 5: Yeah. We've done most of the other ones we've done
- 5:45Speaker 5: that are usually like, this tastes like zombie. And I'm like, no,
- 5:49Speaker 5: that really wasn't the thing. This tastes like zombie.
- 5:52Speaker 8: Was it the Skittles we had a couple years ago?
- 5:54Speaker 5: The Skittles was a zombie flavored one that I'm using quotes,
- 5:57Speaker 5: flavored one that really was more like rotting cabbage or something.
- 6:01Speaker 7: It was not a good one.
- 6:02Speaker 5: Version.
- 6:03Speaker 1: And it was one of those where it was regular
- 6:04Speaker 1: flavored ones and so you didn't know unless you ate one.
- 6:08Speaker 5: Because I think one of us got regular flavors and
- 6:10Speaker 5: we were like, no, these are great! And the other went,
- 6:12Speaker 5: oh god! So they sucker you in.
- 6:15Speaker 7: That was not fun.
- 6:16Speaker 5: So there's the food options, but I told you I
- 6:19Speaker 5: was borrowing your refrigerator. We also have a beverage. I
- 6:24Speaker 5: didn't get tons because I didn't know any of them.
- 6:25Speaker 5: A paper bag, I see. Well, like a true wino.
- 6:29Speaker 8: I keep it in a paper bag.
- 6:31Speaker 5: I'm thinking about it. But when I saw this, I
- 6:33Speaker 5: was way too excited, mostly about the label. A bottle
- 6:37Speaker 5: of blood. So I, back in the olden days, was
- 6:42Speaker 5: a sucker for some Jones soda. We're not sponsored by Jones,
- 6:45Speaker 5: but if they want to give us money, I'm all
- 6:47Speaker 5: for it. But I saw this yesterday and was like,
- 6:49Speaker 5: a bottle of blood with a big vampire face on it.
- 6:52Speaker 5: I'm on board. So if you want to get us
- 6:56Speaker 5: fancy glasses, or we can all just swig out of
- 6:58Speaker 5: the same bottle, whichever.
- 7:00Speaker 6: Blood chalice.
- 7:01Speaker 5: Since the wedding, we have 8,000 glasses.
- 7:05Speaker 10: That's true.
- 7:05Speaker 5: You did say you got a little bit of glassware.
- 7:10Speaker 8: Blood sucker.
- 7:11Speaker 6: That's super cool. I remember Jones from... I mean, they
- 7:14Speaker 6: were the only ones that had like a green, like
- 7:17Speaker 6: artificial green and artificial blue soda. And as a kid,
- 7:19Speaker 6: it's like, yes, that's what I want.
- 7:21Speaker 8: This is, I mean.
- 7:23Speaker 5: It's very bloody.
- 7:24Speaker 8: It's almost blood-like. I mean, like the blood that you
- 7:27Speaker 8: pour off your steak.
- 7:30Speaker 5: Just what we're going for. Also busting into these jelly
- 7:34Speaker 5: bellies here. So let's see. What do I end up with?
- 7:40Speaker 2: Oh, hell yeah.
- 7:40Speaker 5: I think there's some candy.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:44Speaker 7: Do I need to get the bottle opener?
- 7:46Speaker 5: No. I think it's a twist off. Am I pouring it?
- 7:52Speaker 6: Would you?
- 7:54Speaker 5: Please? I'm busy having candy corn flavored jelly beans.
- 7:58Speaker 6: How's that?
- 8:01Speaker 10: Interesting?
- 8:02Speaker 5: I'm going with interesting. I like candy corn, which I
- 8:05Speaker 5: know nobody likes candy corn, but they're all wrong.
- 8:09Speaker 8: I don't know what flavor this is, but I'm enjoying it.
- 8:11Speaker 10: Which one?
- 8:12Speaker 8: It's the golden one.
- 8:15Speaker 5: Seems like that'd be pumpkin, but I don't think we
- 8:16Speaker 5: had a pumpkin option. Thank you.
- 8:18Speaker 8: Oh, it is vaguely orangey.
- 8:20Speaker 6: Okay, so I got a caramel corn one.
- 8:23Speaker 5: I got the purple-y one.
- 8:25Speaker 8: Thank you, Nora.
- 8:25Speaker 5: You're welcome. Thank you.
- 8:28Speaker 6: I'm going to pass on the caramel corn, I think.
- 8:31Speaker 5: Now, are we all going to drink this at the
- 8:33Speaker 5: same time like some sort of blood ritual so we
- 8:35Speaker 5: can be initiated into this cult? We've long been a cult,
- 8:39Speaker 5: so you've just been roped in now. I hope you're happy.
- 8:42Speaker 6: I am very, very happy. Sucker.
- 8:45Speaker 5: He fell right into our trap.
- 8:48Speaker 6: No, thanks for bringing these. I'm like, I'm super curious.
- 8:51Speaker 8: Those are good. Those are really good.
- 8:53Speaker 5: That was the test run last time when we were like, look,
- 8:55Speaker 5: they've already got candy out for Halloween.
- 8:57Speaker 6: I literally, well, we were listening to the episode and
- 8:59Speaker 6: I literally screamed in the car and be like, what?
- 9:01Speaker 5: I like ghost toast. And she was like, ha ha.
- 9:05Speaker 8: Are we supposed to clinky clinky?
- 9:06Speaker 5: Are we clinking? All right, this is official.
- 9:10Speaker 6: Thanks for having me on, guys.
- 9:11Speaker 5: Blood sacrifice.
- 9:13Speaker 6: It doesn't taste like blood.
- 9:14Speaker 8: I don't get much of.
- 9:15Speaker 5: A flavor at all. Not enough iron, really.
- 9:18Speaker 8: I like the.
- 9:19Speaker 5: Flintiness that you get from normal blood.
- 9:22Speaker 1: It's supposed to be like cherry?
- 9:26Speaker 6: Yeah, I think it's just like a strawberry?
- 9:28Speaker 8: It has a stronger scent than it does flavor.
- 9:30Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Red?
- 9:31Speaker 7: It's red.
- 9:33Speaker 5: That's why I didn't buy a whole six pack. I
- 9:35Speaker 5: didn't know that we wanted to sit here drinking it
- 9:36Speaker 5: the whole time, but we definitely needed to test it.
- 9:39Speaker 1: It's not bad.
- 9:41Speaker 8: I don't hate it.
- 9:41Speaker 6: No, it's super good.
- 9:42Speaker 7: It just doesn't.
- 9:43Speaker 6: It tastes like much. Well, yeah.
- 9:45Speaker 5: It's not as much flavor as I expected, actually.
- 9:49Speaker 7: Let's see.
- 9:50Speaker 1: I got a purple.
- 9:52Speaker 5: You test the purple, and then we'll come up with
- 9:54Speaker 5: more ridiculous things. Ooh, the purple's good.
- 9:57Speaker 6: Purple is good.
- 9:59Speaker 7: That is caramel corn.
- 10:02Speaker 5: I don't know what to do with it.
- 10:02Speaker 8: There's something about popcorn-flavored candy.
- 10:05Speaker 5: Yeah, because I kind of like the idea of the
- 10:08Speaker 5: popcorn when it's the basic version. But then every time
- 10:10Speaker 5: I'm like, I don't know. Shouldn't I just go make popcorn?
- 10:13Speaker 8: Well, my tongue says, yes, this is popcorn. But my
- 10:16Speaker 8: brain says the texture's all wrong.
- 10:18Speaker 5: This is weird and chewy. This is confusing me. All right,
- 10:21Speaker 5: the other ongoing Halloween party, festivities, activities type thing. So,
- 10:27Speaker 5: as usual, we've been doing our representations of ourselves.
- 10:32Speaker 8: Have we?
- 10:33Speaker 5: I wasn't going to bother bringing them, but I made
- 10:35Speaker 5: some modifications. So, Nora's was probably the biggest one, so
- 10:40Speaker 5: I thought she'd be excited to see. Yes, I'm talking
- 10:43Speaker 5: about Legos, like always.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Yay!
- 10:45Speaker 5: So, not only are you a witch, but you got
- 10:48Speaker 5: a whole witch outfit this year. Including, if you'll notice,
- 10:51Speaker 5: there's a frog in your pocket. Oh, my old friend. Phillip,
- 10:57Speaker 5: I decided you needed a more piratey shirt. Yes. And
- 11:02Speaker 5: I think I found a different hat, too. So, you're
- 11:07Speaker 5: even more piratey than usual.
- 11:08Speaker 8: Ooh, it's a fancy pirate hat.
- 11:12Speaker 5: Mine, I went as realistic as real life because I
- 11:16Speaker 5: was like, Back in the day, I would have put
- 11:18Speaker 5: on a whole big outfit and worn it around all day,
- 11:20Speaker 5: but now I'm just, I don't have the patience for
- 11:23Speaker 5: it anymore. So I'm sticking with my skeleton hoodie action.
- 11:26Speaker 5: So I didn't put much effort in and that seems
- 11:29Speaker 5: about right.
- 11:30Speaker 6: It's classic.
- 11:31Speaker 8: Very Crypt Keeper.
- 11:32Speaker 5: And then I had no idea until a few hours
- 11:34Speaker 5: ago that we had another party in this party. And
- 11:38Speaker 5: normally it took, like it took a long time to
- 11:40Speaker 5: piece together these random goings on for our three. So
- 11:43Speaker 5: the fact that I came up with this, I'm shocked
- 11:45Speaker 5: as well as it turned out. But you also get
- 11:47Speaker 5: to be a cowboy, Pierce. Oh! So, I don't know
- 11:51Speaker 5: how accurate I am, but considering I didn't have any
- 11:55Speaker 5: outside options, I just had to go with what I
- 11:57Speaker 5: could find. It's not too far off.
- 11:59Speaker 8: It's a spitting image of you.
- 12:01Speaker 1: It's not too.
- 12:01Speaker 5: I was kind of like.
- 12:02Speaker 6: Wow.
- 12:03Speaker 5: By the end, I was like, you're just going to
- 12:04Speaker 5: get a helmet, I guess. You can be Darth Vader
- 12:06Speaker 5: and have a giant helmet on. But I came with
- 12:08Speaker 5: that guy, and I went, oh, you know, not too
- 12:11Speaker 5: far off. Yeah, he's like Wyatt Earp.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:13Speaker 5: And I figured, I didn't know if you wanted that
- 12:15Speaker 5: many bandoliers, but you got them. You can keep like
- 12:18Speaker 5: cell phone and keep other crap in there too. So
- 12:23Speaker 5: one of.
- 12:23Speaker 7: Your favorite, tell me your favorite movie.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 12:26Speaker 6: My favorite, my, one of my favorite movies is tombstone.
- 12:30Speaker 8: Okay.
- 12:30Speaker 5: Like it is awesome. I think you and everyone's dad
- 12:33Speaker 5: in America.
- 12:34Speaker 6: I'm telling you, I'm a product of the nineties. Like
- 12:36Speaker 6: that is definitely like nineties. It's one of those friendly movies.
- 12:40Speaker 5: You can't like as much as there are times when
- 12:43Speaker 5: I'm like, it's just kind of your standard Western type thing.
- 12:45Speaker 5: But if you go back and watch it, those performances,
- 12:48Speaker 5: specifically Val Kilmer, is ridiculous.
- 12:52Speaker 6: Doc Holliday, he's the best.
- 12:53Speaker 5: But even Michael Biehn, who hit and miss, you never
- 12:56Speaker 5: know what you're going to get from him in a movie,
- 12:57Speaker 5: but he's really good in that.
- 13:00Speaker 8: It's surprising.
- 13:01Speaker 5: Look, there we are, trick-or-treating.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Look at us.
- 13:04Speaker 5: But, see, that was the other thing. I was like,
- 13:05Speaker 5: normally we've got a spooky house, which is still sitting
- 13:08Speaker 5: there by the door, so I'll put us back there later.
- 13:10Speaker 5: But there's a spooky house we'll be, you know, hanging
- 13:12Speaker 5: out by. Going on our pumpkin ride. What are those
- 13:16Speaker 5: tractor things they do? Hayride? Hayride! That's a thing. I
- 13:20Speaker 5: don't leave the house much. So, yeah, we'll be hanging
- 13:24Speaker 5: out and doing our hayride. But the other thing, I
- 13:26Speaker 5: don't think we've ever done this before. So we've definitely
- 13:30Speaker 5: hung out with Scooby before.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Aww.
- 13:33Speaker 5: But... We've never had the full-on Mystery Machine. Whoa. So
- 13:37Speaker 5: now I've decided the other guys got super rich with
- 13:40Speaker 5: that company, and they all retired. Scooby's like, look, it's
- 13:43Speaker 5: the Scooby gang. I got to do my own thing.
- 13:45Speaker 5: So he and the Mystery Machine came along, and now
- 13:48Speaker 5: we're the new Scooby gang. So there you go. We're
- 13:51Speaker 5: hanging out in the Mystery Machine with Scooby.
- 13:54Speaker 6: So is Scooby driving before he met us?
- 13:57Speaker 5: I don't trust me doing it. So unless one of
- 13:59Speaker 5: you wants to claim it, Scooby's in charge.
- 14:03Speaker 7: That's fine with me.
- 14:04Speaker 5: So once again, Halloween traditions continue. I've always been a
- 14:09Speaker 5: fan of props on an audio format. Obviously, because that's
- 14:13Speaker 5: all I do.
- 14:14Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 14:15Speaker 5: And I did bring the Scooby zombie because, you know. Fun.
- 14:21Speaker 7: Is that not the bet?
- 14:22Speaker 5: That is pretty awesome. It's totally of his stylings. The
- 14:25Speaker 5: color scheme's perfect from the show. It's really nice work there, guys.
- 14:30Speaker 5: We also need to be sponsored by Legos, I'm just saying.
- 14:33Speaker 10: Please.
- 14:34Speaker 5: So, the only other thing in our continuing update saga,
- 14:38Speaker 5: because normally you would have come up the walkway and
- 14:42Speaker 5: you could have seen the progress of the pumpkin patch. Oh, yeah.
- 14:45Speaker 5: But because we reversed things and we're a slightly different
- 14:48Speaker 5: location now, I have to show you what's going on
- 14:51Speaker 5: out there I was going to take one today, but
- 14:53Speaker 5: it's been like pounded with rain for two days straight.
- 14:56Speaker 5: So I figured I better go with one from before
- 14:59Speaker 5: that happened. So I'm assuming if you're listening, you know,
- 15:05Speaker 5: but if not, there's a pumpkin patch I put inside
- 15:07Speaker 5: of my house out front like a psychopath. So here's
- 15:12Speaker 5: what it currently looks like.
- 15:14Speaker 7: That looks promising.
- 15:15Speaker 6: Yeah, that looks great.
- 15:16Speaker 8: That looks very sincere.
- 15:17Speaker 5: It's giant leaves that have completely overtaken that area.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:22Speaker 5: And so far, not a pumpkin in the.
- 15:24Speaker 7: Well, there are weird flowers, which I'm like.
- 15:27Speaker 5: Did the pumpkins show up where the flowers are? I
- 15:30Speaker 5: don't know.
- 15:30Speaker 6: Yes, I think that... What am I, a farmer?
- 15:32Speaker 10: I don't know.
- 15:32Speaker 6: The flowers die and then the pumpkins come out.
- 15:34Speaker 5: The pumpkin shoots out and becomes a sentient being and
- 15:37Speaker 5: attacks people or something like that.
- 15:39Speaker 6: I think eggplants do that, too.
- 15:40Speaker 10: I don't know.
- 15:41Speaker 6: I'm not a botanist.
- 15:42Speaker 5: I just know emojis, and that's not what that means
- 15:44Speaker 5: at all.
- 15:46Speaker 7: I feel like you're the closest out of all of
- 15:47Speaker 7: us to be a botanist.
- 15:49Speaker 6: I don't know anything about plants.
- 15:50Speaker 5: I have a pumpkin patch.
- 15:54Speaker 6: We have had one successful plant outside. And that's you.
- 15:58Speaker 8: Is it that big tree?
- 16:01Speaker 1: In the back corner.
- 16:03Speaker 8: See, I was making a joke. It was here before
- 16:07Speaker 8: you guys got here.
- 16:08Speaker 5: I can't see around the tree.
- 16:10Speaker 7: I'm tired.
- 16:12Speaker 6: Slow on the uptake on that one.
- 16:17Speaker 5: It wasn't a good joke anyway so props out of
- 16:22Speaker 5: the way um i guess our normal go-to have you
- 16:25Speaker 5: seen anything creepy lately in this halloween season yes.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Should i go first oh sure oh we should have
- 16:34Speaker 1: picked one for you yeah think of something okay well
- 16:38Speaker 1: i'm gonna.
- 16:38Speaker 5: Steal this one at some point he walked in and
- 16:41Speaker 5: went what the hell are you watching.
- 16:43Speaker 7: We watched the movie Oddity.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Anyone's heard of that?
- 16:48Speaker 7: How recent is this? It just came out, yeah.
- 16:52Speaker 5: Maybe, yeah.
- 16:52Speaker 7: And it just came on streaming.
- 16:54Speaker 6: You will love it.
- 16:55Speaker 10: It's great.
- 16:55Speaker 5: It is absolutely what you want. Oh, yeah.
- 16:57Speaker 1: It's like a very neat little ghost story that has
- 17:04Speaker 1: some humor in it.
- 17:04Speaker 5: I don't know if I heard about it or not.
- 17:06Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Um, it's about this woman who gets murdered in her
- 17:10Speaker 1: house that she's renovating and her twin sister is like
- 17:13Speaker 1: blind and also kind of psychic and is trying to
- 17:16Speaker 1: like kind of get justice for her killing.
- 17:19Speaker 5: Maybe I haven't heard about this.
- 17:21Speaker 7: And she has this giant wooden mannequin.
- 17:24Speaker 5: That's not creepy at all.
- 17:25Speaker 8: That would be right at Brian's alley.
- 17:27Speaker 5: See, yeah, you guys told me it was weird. It's
- 17:28Speaker 5: not weird. That lady has one too.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:30Speaker 6: Well, it's definitely like, I don't know, psychological.
- 17:33Speaker 7: Well, yeah, because she owns an oddity shop, so that's
- 17:35Speaker 7: why it's called Oddity.
- 17:36Speaker 2: See?
- 17:37Speaker 5: Will someone give me one of those?
- 17:38Speaker 7: Yeah. And it's really fun.
- 17:40Speaker 1: And the director is Damian McCarthy, who.
- 17:44Speaker 6: He did that one other one.
- 17:45Speaker 1: He did a movie called Caveat, which is also very...
- 17:49Speaker 1: But yeah, he's a great director. He's really good at
- 17:53Speaker 1: very slow tension building. And then there are four or
- 17:57Speaker 1: five jump scares that... made me yell out every single
- 18:00Speaker 1: time i really didn't see him coming.
- 18:03Speaker 6: And all the supernatural horrifying things and there are like
- 18:06Speaker 6: i don't know they're scary looking too right because there's
- 18:09Speaker 6: like i don't know caveat i didn't i wasn't quite
- 18:12Speaker 6: as scared by the monsters and stuff that were in
- 18:15Speaker 6: there in quite the same way i don't know it
- 18:17Speaker 6: was awesome you'll love it it's really fun.
- 18:20Speaker 1: It's a great tight little spooky fun.
- 18:23Speaker 6: We actually tried watching it again last night, but I
- 18:25Speaker 6: think I only made it about halfway through.
- 18:26Speaker 7: Yeah, we started it again last night.
- 18:30Speaker 5: So that one's yours. It was so good, you slept
- 18:33Speaker 5: through it. Which is every review of a movie for
- 18:35Speaker 5: me these days. All I do is turn it on
- 18:38Speaker 5: and go, wait, where did I? No, I was not
- 18:40Speaker 5: at this point. What the hell happened? Oh, sleeping again.
- 18:44Speaker 5: Have you seen anything? I have.
- 18:47Speaker 8: I watched Sleepaway Camp Parts 2 and 3. lucky to
- 18:52Speaker 8: back i don't know about that.
- 18:55Speaker 5: I remember having a it might have come after the
- 18:59Speaker 5: there was a period where i was like a bunch
- 19:00Speaker 5: of the things that had a little weird following that
- 19:03Speaker 5: i was like i don't think i've seen that so
- 19:05Speaker 5: i started going through trying to like check these off
- 19:07Speaker 5: the list and at one point sleepaway camp was something
- 19:10Speaker 5: i hadn't seen and i was not prepared and then
- 19:13Speaker 5: i watched it was like holy shit And then it
- 19:15Speaker 5: was like, but there's more. So I think I watched
- 19:18Speaker 5: at least two and three. I know they've done a
- 19:21Speaker 5: four and I think later another recent.
- 19:24Speaker 8: I have no idea.
- 19:25Speaker 5: Add on.
- 19:25Speaker 8: I feel like I'm returned to sleep.
- 19:27Speaker 5: But I remember, yeah, two and three were within years
- 19:30Speaker 5: of the first one. So how do you feel about
- 19:33Speaker 5: those movies?
- 19:34Speaker 8: Hey, I enjoyed the hell out of both of them.
- 19:37Speaker 5: That's how I remember it. I don't remember details at all,
- 19:39Speaker 5: but I remember enjoying them and not quite as much
- 19:42Speaker 5: of a shock value as the first one.
- 19:44Speaker 8: Part two, definitely not the same shock value. They try to...
- 19:50Speaker 8: to keep it kind of serious like the first one,
- 19:52Speaker 8: but the silliness creeps in real quick. And then part
- 19:55Speaker 8: three is just silly from start to finish. It gets
- 19:58Speaker 8: to the point where she starts making one-liners after every
- 20:01Speaker 8: single kill.
- 20:03Speaker 5: Look, if Freddy has taught us anything, that's how you
- 20:06Speaker 5: do it.
- 20:07Speaker 7: Poor Angela.
- 20:08Speaker 8: But they're so.
- 20:11Speaker 8: Like in part two you almost well at the end
- 20:13Speaker 8: of part one I felt sorry for Angela in part
- 20:16Speaker 8: two I'm like no she's just no she's a horrible
- 20:18Speaker 8: person I was like she's just a basket case and
- 20:20Speaker 8: in part three it's like yeah whatever I'm just gonna
- 20:22Speaker 8: sit back and.
- 20:23Speaker 5: Watch at this point I mean if there's no Judy
- 20:26Speaker 5: anymore we're just wasting our time without Judy there's no Judy.
- 20:33Speaker 7: I should have been Judy for Halloween this year.
- 20:35Speaker 5: I mean, if you've got a pony-o, you can do
- 20:37Speaker 5: it right now.
- 20:37Speaker 7: And a t-shirt that just says Judy. Which is my
- 20:41Speaker 7: favorite thing.
- 20:42Speaker 5: Such an awesome look. Movie-wise, I was just looking at it,
- 20:49Speaker 5: and I was like, what have I watched? Most of
- 20:51Speaker 5: it wasn't horror. I mean, unless you're counting that new
- 20:54Speaker 5: Crow movie, which... If you were listening, I just talked
- 20:58Speaker 5: a whole lot about that one. But, by the way, Gorefest.
- 21:01Speaker 5: Don't know if anyone knew that going in, but in
- 21:03Speaker 5: case you were wondering, should I watch that? If you
- 21:05Speaker 5: want to see some gory shit. Yeah, The New Crow. Really?
- 21:10Speaker 2: Who knew?
- 21:11Speaker 5: Not at all. I don't understand. This is what I
- 21:13Speaker 5: went on about forever, but if they would have just
- 21:15Speaker 5: not called it that, everybody would have been fine.
- 21:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:18Speaker 5: Like, it's just that all you did was piss off
- 21:21Speaker 5: the fans. Like, it doesn't, I don't know why they
- 21:24Speaker 5: think it has name recognition anyway this far in. Like,
- 21:26Speaker 5: either you're a fan or you don't care. Right. So,
- 21:29Speaker 5: it's one or the other. You're not cashing in on
- 21:31Speaker 5: a whole new Gen Z crowd that cares about it. Like,
- 21:34Speaker 5: they don't, they weren't there when the comic came out,
- 21:37Speaker 5: so they're not old school fans. What are you doing? So, yeah,
- 21:39Speaker 5: if they just would have given it a different title.
- 21:41Speaker 6: The Crow.
- 21:42Speaker 5: Pulling Redemption, you know, something.
- 21:44Speaker 6: Crows.
- 21:45Speaker 5: Yeah, something else.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:47Speaker 5: It would have been different because it's a totally different story,
- 21:50Speaker 5: but yeah, stylistically very different in the gore factor because
- 21:55Speaker 5: it is pretty bloody. Gotta say, gotta say. So there's that.
- 22:00Speaker 5: But the other one I was thinking, I was watching
- 22:02Speaker 5: this the other day and I was like, I wonder
- 22:04Speaker 5: if Nora has been tempted by this. I don't know
- 22:06Speaker 5: if you even have this channel, but, um, I know
- 22:09Speaker 5: you're not into the Marvel world, but Agatha all along
- 22:12Speaker 5: is very witchy.
- 22:13Speaker 7: I've seen, yeah. I'm not a Marvel person, but I'm.
- 22:16Speaker 8: Like, that'd be fun.
- 22:17Speaker 5: I knew that, but I was wondering because it's so
- 22:20Speaker 5: sort of detached. I mean, it's got a tie in,
- 22:23Speaker 5: it's direct tie into WandaVision, but again, I was watching
- 22:27Speaker 5: it going, if you didn't see anything, how much would
- 22:30Speaker 5: you like not give a shit and just watch it
- 22:31Speaker 5: because you're watching witchy stuff? Because it's, All kinds of witchies.
- 22:35Speaker 5: It's a very modern era. If you were a witch,
- 22:37Speaker 5: what would you be like? Where would you be? What
- 22:39Speaker 5: would your job be? What would you have to do
- 22:42Speaker 5: to try to pretend like you're a normal person? Yeah,
- 22:45Speaker 5: it's some interesting stuff thrown in there. So I'm several
- 22:49Speaker 5: episodes in, and I'm just hoping it doesn't... They've done
- 22:53Speaker 5: weird things with their other series. I'm like, don't be Loki.
- 22:56Speaker 5: Don't be Loki. Because Loki just became nonsense. Like, it
- 22:59Speaker 5: was just... Cool visuals that make absolutely no sense for
- 23:03Speaker 5: 45 minutes. Enjoy! I'm like, guys, it does look cool.
- 23:08Speaker 5: What are we doing here? Why am I watching this bullshit? So,
- 23:12Speaker 5: no offense. I like Hiddleston and all, but that show
- 23:16Speaker 5: had so minimal payoff for the ridiculous amount of time
- 23:20Speaker 5: they devoted to it.
- 23:22Speaker 6: I think it was a critical mass of just Marvel
- 23:25Speaker 6: media kind of all coming together.
- 23:27Speaker 5: And I don't think... Feige still got his name attached
- 23:31Speaker 5: to everything. But I'm like, I don't think they know
- 23:32Speaker 5: what to do anymore. So like, they're just like, we
- 23:35Speaker 5: got to the end point. Now it's been years and
- 23:38Speaker 5: we still don't know how to recover. Like we spent
- 23:41Speaker 5: a decade building up to this and then we did it. Great.
- 23:43Speaker 5: Everybody loved it.
- 23:44Speaker 3: Oh shit.
- 23:45Speaker 5: Now what do we do? Like, so that's been years
- 23:48Speaker 5: now of them going, well, what do we do now?
- 23:50Speaker 5: And like, there's been so many misfires of like, this
- 23:52Speaker 5: will work. Nope. This will work.
- 23:54Speaker 6: Nope.
- 23:54Speaker 5: So this one's at least interesting so far, but yeah,
- 23:59Speaker 5: super witchy.
- 24:00Speaker 7: Is that on Disney Plus?
- 24:02Speaker 5: Yes. Don't worry, they're hiking their prices. So in case
- 24:05Speaker 5: you were thinking, I don't know if I have enough
- 24:07Speaker 5: for that. It costs more now.
- 24:09Speaker 7: Yeah, that's one that we don't have.
- 24:11Speaker 5: We're, I don't know. I feel like we've totally, this
- 24:14Speaker 5: is just random real world complaints. We're right back where
- 24:17Speaker 5: we were. Like the whole idea before was like cutting
- 24:20Speaker 5: the cable. We're getting free of all these horrible things
- 24:23Speaker 5: they do to us on regular TV, paying for cable.
- 24:26Speaker 5: I'm like, okay, but now. You have to have at
- 24:28Speaker 5: least 17 different streaming services to see the things you
- 24:31Speaker 5: want to see. And then on top of that before,
- 24:33Speaker 5: like with your pay cable products, like your Showtimes and
- 24:36Speaker 5: HBOs in the beginning, that was the whole pitch was like,
- 24:39Speaker 5: no commercials. This is the greatest thing ever. Every one
- 24:42Speaker 5: of them has commercials. I know. Like Hulu just changed it.
- 24:46Speaker 5: Disney's now starting to change it. Netflix just changed it.
- 24:49Speaker 5: I was like, at least, I mean, points to Netflix.
- 24:51Speaker 5: Normally they don't have a whole lot of great stuff,
- 24:53Speaker 5: but like third, what I've watched of it when they
- 24:55Speaker 5: switched over, it's really quick. Like they're maybe 30 seconds
- 24:59Speaker 5: and they're out of the way and you're good for
- 25:01Speaker 5: quite a while, if not your whole half hour show.
- 25:03Speaker 5: So they're at least quick on there. But yeah, I mean,
- 25:08Speaker 5: at what point are we just right back where we were?
- 25:10Speaker 5: Because I feel like we're already there. Oh, yeah.
- 25:13Speaker 6: Someone's just going to consolidate and it's going to be like,
- 25:15Speaker 6: this is the greatest thing since cable television.
- 25:18Speaker 5: But we already had that. So now I'm trying to
- 25:21Speaker 5: decide what's the next thing that's going to come in
- 25:24Speaker 5: and be like, we're going to be so much better
- 25:25Speaker 5: than this option. Are they beaming it straight to our brain?
- 25:30Speaker 8: They come to your house and they act out the show.
- 25:32Speaker 5: Now that might be interesting.
- 25:34Speaker 8: I would pay $ 14. 99 a month.
- 25:35Speaker 5: That would be... You have to clear out the rumpus
- 25:39Speaker 5: room so they go, all right, come on in. Now, Loki, go!
- 25:44Speaker 5: This is going to look really bad.
- 25:46Speaker 7: Just a guy with glow sticks.
- 25:50Speaker 5: Those aren't even good horns. Yeah. Better horns. This looks terrible.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Like, that's just my life with peers. He just comes
- 25:59Speaker 1: out from another room.
- 26:00Speaker 5: Glow sticks. Everywhere you go, glow sticks.
- 26:05Speaker 8: I have no problem believing that. Like, I think I
- 26:09Speaker 8: just assumed that anyway.
- 26:10Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 26:11Speaker 5: I can see. Yeah, I can see.
- 26:13Speaker 6: Yeah, I am the loudest thing in this house.
- 26:15Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 26:16Speaker 1: And Nelson lives here.
- 26:17Speaker 5: Yeah, that's saying a lot. I think you're throwing down
- 26:20Speaker 5: the gauntlet with Nelson. He might take you out today.
- 26:22Speaker 6: He's over there.
- 26:23Speaker 5: He's in some rumble.
- 26:27Speaker 7: I don't know a moment's peace.
- 26:30Speaker 5: That seems right, actually.
- 26:32Speaker 6: All right.
- 26:35Speaker 5: Anything else before we get rolling? The next phase of
- 26:38Speaker 5: the party. Because it really is a fancy gathering where
- 26:42Speaker 5: we're going to watch the movie.
- 26:44Speaker 6: Oh, I can't wait. What is the name of the actor,
- 26:47Speaker 6: the lead actor's name in this movie?
- 26:49Speaker 2: Oh.
- 26:50Speaker 5: I went to double check on how to say his
- 26:53Speaker 5: last name. Dasmulchian? It's something. Hold on here. Let me
- 26:59Speaker 5: find it.
- 27:00Speaker 6: Because Nora and I have been watching a lot of these,
- 27:02Speaker 6: what do you want to call them? Documentaries?
- 27:04Speaker 5: Dasmulchian. I think is the way it's supposed to be.
- 27:08Speaker 5: David Dasmulchian.
- 27:09Speaker 1: Oh.
- 27:11Speaker 7: Yeah, and Shudder, they're doing like a.
- 27:13Speaker 1: horror's greatest so every week they put out like you
- 27:16Speaker 1: know it's like Japanese horror like giant monsters or horror
- 27:21Speaker 1: comedies or Stephen King adaptations so with the little talking
- 27:26Speaker 1: head interview things and he's.
- 27:28Speaker 6: He's like all over it oh really yeah yeah for
- 27:30Speaker 6: sure so I don't know what horror scholarship slash popular
- 27:34Speaker 6: you know figureheads.
- 27:36Speaker 5: Are we should get to him yeah after the movie
- 27:39Speaker 5: because there is reasons that he's in this movie yeah
- 27:42Speaker 5: so All right. Awesome. Let's go watch Late Night with
- 27:46Speaker 5: the Devil. That's what it says on the screen over there.
- 27:49Speaker 6: Oh, I'll make popcorn.
- 27:50Speaker 2: Oh!
- 27:51Speaker 5: Yes! This is a party.
- 27:54Speaker 1: See y'all later.
- 27:55Speaker 8: I am so glad my internet went out.
- 27:58Speaker 5: Monsters do have their place. In the zoo.
- 28:02Speaker 6: In your nightmares.
- 28:04Speaker 11: In the deep.
- 28:05Speaker 3: In your favorite horror movies. but not in your living room,
- 28:12Speaker 3: on your TV. Don't let pay TV be the monster
- 28:21Speaker 3: in your living room. Pay TV and cable TV companies
- 28:24Speaker 3: are seeking the right to charge you for the very
- 28:27Speaker 3: programs you now get free. If you want to stop
- 28:30Speaker 3: pay TV and save free television, sign the petition in
- 28:33Speaker 3: the lobby of this theater. Let your lawmakers know how
- 28:37Speaker 3: you feel in the fight against pay TV and cable TV. Friday,
- 28:46Speaker 3: a Halloween special starring Paul Lynn. Turning myself on. And
- 28:50Speaker 3: his special guests, Tim Conway, Florence Henderson, Donny and Marie Osmond,
- 28:54Speaker 3: Pinky Tuscadero, and the Incredible Kids. All on the Paul
- 28:59Speaker 3: Lynn Halloween special.
- 29:00Speaker 9: Friday on ABC.
- 29:02Speaker 6: It's time for Sofa Theater. We are back in five, four, now.
- 29:13Speaker 3: Here's Mr.
- 29:14Speaker 1: Midnight, Jack Dallow.
- 29:19Speaker 11: Oh, good evening, night owls, and thank you for allowing
- 29:22Speaker 11: me into your living rooms once again. Well, night owls,
- 29:27Speaker 11: we've got a heck of a show in store for
- 29:28Speaker 11: you tonight, and I'm very excited for you to see.
- 29:31Speaker 5: It all unfold before your very eyes. I really hope
- 29:33Speaker 5: you love it.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Gosh, I hope you love it.
- 29:35Speaker 5: Please love it.
- 29:36Speaker 2: Please love it. Please love it.
- 29:40Speaker 11: I'm trying to host the national syndicated talk show and
- 29:42Speaker 11: i'm trying to help you keep it on the air
- 29:46Speaker 11: we all know how important it is to keep our
- 29:48Speaker 11: sponsors and affiliates happy but in my humble opinion there
- 29:50Speaker 11: is only one person who really matters in this whole
- 29:53Speaker 11: darn crazy business.
- 29:57Speaker 6: And that is you our viewer.
- 30:01Speaker 5: You're meddling with things you don't understand.
- 30:03Speaker 1: Whoa!
- 30:03Speaker 11: Now, as you know, here on Night Owls, we think
- 30:06Speaker 11: it's very important to keep an open mind. Please welcome Dr.
- 30:11Speaker 11: June Ross Mitchell and Lily, the young subject of the book,
- 30:15Speaker 11: Conversations with the Devil.
- 30:16Speaker 5: I really don't think it's a good idea, Jack. It's
- 30:18Speaker 5: becoming more unpredictable. That's a good thing. That's why we
- 30:21Speaker 5: still do live TV.
- 30:22Speaker 11: Ladies and gentlemen, please stay tuned for a live television
- 30:25Speaker 11: first as we attempt to commune with the devil.
- 30:37Speaker 6: Lily, can you hear me?
- 30:46Speaker 8: Good to see you again, Jack.
- 30:47Speaker 1: Lily, return to me.
- 30:52Speaker 5: This isn't about ratings anymore.
- 30:53Speaker 11: No one's going anywhere.
- 30:54Speaker 5: How could you let it happen, Jack? How could you
- 30:56Speaker 5: let it happen? Please be warned.
- 30:58Speaker 3: Anyone with young children in the room... You're.
- 31:01Speaker 11: About to see.
- 31:02Speaker 6: You okay, Jack?
- 31:03Speaker 11: Is profoundly disturbing and shocking.
- 31:21Speaker 8: Here comes the devil. Oh, here comes the devil. Oh,
- 31:26Speaker 8: here comes the devil.
- 31:28Speaker 10: Oh, the devil with the devil, says I.
- 31:30Speaker 5: Look out for the devil. Look out for the devil.
- 31:34Speaker 8: Look out for the devil.
- 31:37Speaker 10: Oh, the devil with the devil says aye.
- 31:39Speaker 4: You're so afraid of old man Satan, now why don't
- 31:42Speaker 4: you stop your hesitating? You're gonna be a long time dead,
- 31:46Speaker 4: so the devil with the devil says aye.
- 31:49Speaker 10: You're always giving me the dickens, telling me that life's
- 31:52Speaker 10: no easy pickings.
- 31:53Speaker 4: But just as long as I have fun, why the
- 31:56Speaker 4: devil with the devil says aye. You can have your
- 31:59Speaker 4: social teas and bingo.
- 32:01Speaker 10: For your fun.
- 32:03Speaker 4: But the things I like to do, you stop me
- 32:06Speaker 4: one by one. Now even if you make me stronger,
- 32:10Speaker 4: that ain't gonna make me live no longer. So even
- 32:13Speaker 4: if I go to.
- 32:16Speaker 10: The devil with the devil says hi.
- 32:18Speaker 5: Look out for the devil, look out for the devil.
- 32:20Speaker 10: Oh, the devil with the devil says hi.
- 32:27Speaker 5: I'm loaded up on apple cider and popcorn, so I'm
- 32:30Speaker 5: ready to go.
- 32:31Speaker 8: Speaking of which, put in that cattleman seasoning. I thought there.
- 32:36Speaker 5: Was something there.
- 32:38Speaker 6: It's the move, and it's vegan.
- 32:41Speaker 7: There's not actually beef in it.
- 32:42Speaker 6: There's no cattle in it.
- 32:43Speaker 8: There's not an actual cattleman.
- 32:44Speaker 5: There's no cattleman ground up in there. It's not human meat.
- 32:48Speaker 6: It's the human note.
- 32:51Speaker 5: So, we're back in this week's technically for real sofa
- 32:55Speaker 5: we actually sat on a sofa and watched it which
- 32:58Speaker 5: i used to do this show was actually built on
- 33:01Speaker 5: that move right there and i don't understand how it
- 33:04Speaker 5: happened every week it was every week and we did
- 33:08Speaker 5: the show the watch the movie part the whole movie
- 33:12Speaker 5: wrap-up part like every week i don't understand how that
- 33:15Speaker 5: happened because now i'm exhausted just thinking about it so
- 33:19Speaker 5: It's a special occasion when we get to do that again.
- 33:21Speaker 5: So I'm glad.
- 33:22Speaker 8: Very comfy couch.
- 33:23Speaker 5: Yeah. We got to settle in.
- 33:24Speaker 8: But it did because I was about to take a nap.
- 33:28Speaker 8: A very pleasant nap.
- 33:30Speaker 5: They're still after the show.
- 33:31Speaker 3: Well.
- 33:32Speaker 5: We're going to wrap up and go lay down on
- 33:33Speaker 5: the couch. See you later. It's so good.
- 33:37Speaker 7: It's a good couch.
- 33:39Speaker 5: So, yes. This week's very special Halloween episode of Sofa
- 33:42Speaker 5: Theater Feature is Late Night with the Devil. Exactly. The
- 33:49Speaker 5: year is 2023. The directors are Cameron... Is it Carnes? C-A-I-R-N-E-S.
- 33:56Speaker 6: Carnes?
- 33:57Speaker 9: Canes? And Colin.
- 33:59Speaker 5: So I'm assuming they're related of some sort. They both
- 34:02Speaker 5: have that last name.
- 34:04Speaker 12: And the plot, according to IMDb, a live television broadcast
- 34:10Speaker 12: in 1977 goes horribly wrong, unleashing evil into the nation's
- 34:14Speaker 12: living rooms.
- 34:16Speaker 5: Spoiler alert, we're going to run the hell out of
- 34:18Speaker 5: this movie.
- 34:18Speaker 8: I wouldn't say it went horribly wrong.
- 34:22Speaker 5: Depends on what you're looking for in a TV show.
- 34:24Speaker 5: I think it was quite entertaining, so isn't that really
- 34:26Speaker 5: what we were looking for?
- 34:27Speaker 1: I think it went about the way that you'd think
- 34:29Speaker 1: it would probably go.
- 34:31Speaker 5: Are you not entertained? That's what it's all about. Sweep week,
- 34:35Speaker 5: damn it. So, I knew of this. I didn't know
- 34:41Speaker 5: a ton. Again, I kind of avoided a ton of
- 34:44Speaker 5: learning about it. I was just like, I like that guy.
- 34:47Speaker 5: Sounds creepy. I'll be up for it at some point.
- 34:50Speaker 5: And here we are. So how familiar with the concept
- 34:53Speaker 5: were you going into this?
- 34:56Speaker 1: Yeah, we saw it when it came out a few
- 34:57Speaker 1: months ago. And then right after we watched it, we
- 35:00Speaker 1: watched Ghostwatch from BBC, which is a great little companion
- 35:05Speaker 1: piece because that was kind of the real life situation,
- 35:09Speaker 1: I guess, that they based it on.
- 35:11Speaker 7: Which, for those who don't know.
- 35:13Speaker 5: There's a lot of real things that they're borrowing from
- 35:16Speaker 5: this spot.
- 35:17Speaker 7: Ghostwatch was.
- 35:18Speaker 1: It was a TV movie that they played on air
- 35:22Speaker 1: on the BBC that was made to look like a
- 35:25Speaker 1: real broadcast by the BBC.
- 35:28Speaker 5: So it had a nice War of the Worlds reaction?
- 35:30Speaker 7: Yes.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Well, especially because when they aired it, two things went wrong.
- 35:36Speaker 1: One was that Um, another TV movie had ended a
- 35:40Speaker 1: little bit late. And so the original disclaimer of this
- 35:44Speaker 1: is a TV movie got cut. And so it just
- 35:47Speaker 1: went straight into it.
- 35:48Speaker 3: Nice.
- 35:49Speaker 1: And the other thing that happened was they had set
- 35:51Speaker 1: up a hotline that like the number flashes while you're
- 35:54Speaker 1: watching it all throughout the broadcast. And it was supposed
- 35:58Speaker 1: to play a message that was like, this is not.
- 36:00Speaker 7: Real, don't worry.
- 36:02Speaker 1: And instead, the phone lines were so overloaded that when
- 36:05Speaker 1: people called, they just got a busy signal instead. Wow.
- 36:08Speaker 1: So people were calling in to be like.
- 36:10Speaker 5: It was an amazing outcome. It sounds fantastic. What was it, Ghostwatch?
- 36:13Speaker 1: Yeah, and so the whole situation is they're going to
- 36:16Speaker 1: the most haunted house in England and live broadcasting from
- 36:20Speaker 1: there while they investigate.
- 36:22Speaker 7: And of course, it gets spookier and spookier, so.
- 36:25Speaker 5: i've heard about it for years but yeah i have
- 36:27Speaker 5: not watched it so.
- 36:29Speaker 1: I love that highly recommend yeah it's great we should
- 36:31Speaker 1: oh yeah you guys stay after and we'll just watch.
- 36:34Speaker 5: That while we're in the background yeah as we're curled
- 36:37Speaker 5: up on the couch.
- 36:38Speaker 1: There but so i love the like meta-ness of the
- 36:40Speaker 1: whole live tv that's what i.
- 36:43Speaker 5: Like because in in getting ready for this i saw
- 36:46Speaker 5: it described as like found footage yeah and i was
- 36:49Speaker 5: like oh i didn't i was like yeah i guess
- 36:53Speaker 5: but i'm like it's not your normal shaky cam bullshit
- 36:55Speaker 5: like it's set up like a tv show which we're
- 36:58Speaker 5: used to watching i watch more late night shows than
- 37:00Speaker 5: most people my whole life so it's like i'm so
- 37:03Speaker 5: used to that being a format i don't even think
- 37:05Speaker 5: of it like it's a reality television bullshit like it
- 37:08Speaker 5: is set up like a formatted television show so we're
- 37:12Speaker 5: actually you really comfortable with that idea so i yeah
- 37:15Speaker 5: it doesn't register that way to me which is maybe
- 37:17Speaker 5: why i liked it as much yeah it doesn't have
- 37:20Speaker 5: your normal shaky cam we're going in a haunted house
- 37:23Speaker 5: come with me like following them around anywhere it's on
- 37:26Speaker 5: a set we're in the specific camera locations and that's
- 37:30Speaker 5: all we really need and yeah it all.
- 37:32Speaker 1: Works really well i forgot about the part at the
- 37:36Speaker 1: very beginning where they kind of do the recap of
- 37:39Speaker 1: And I'm like, I don't know if that was the
- 37:40Speaker 1: best way they could.
- 37:41Speaker 2: Have done that.
- 37:41Speaker 5: I mean, you need some of those pieces. Yeah. So
- 37:44Speaker 5: it would be like you'd have to start working more
- 37:46Speaker 5: in throughout the story if you didn't do the whole,
- 37:49Speaker 5: here's the spiel at the beginning of all that stuff.
- 37:52Speaker 6: Is everybody, you know, like is everybody affected by what,
- 37:56Speaker 6: if it was not just like a found master tape,
- 37:59Speaker 6: it's like, does it bring up the idea that everybody
- 38:01Speaker 6: in the United States that would have seen this show
- 38:04Speaker 6: is affected by the contents of what was in that show?
- 38:08Speaker 8: Well, that was my question, because they don't tell you
- 38:10Speaker 8: what happened after it aired.
- 38:11Speaker 5: Right, right.
- 38:12Speaker 6: So was the master tape like, that's it?
- 38:15Speaker 5: I mean... We're assuming it was being taped and not
- 38:19Speaker 5: going out live. He wasn't touting it like it was
- 38:23Speaker 5: a live thing, and they kept going to break.
- 38:24Speaker 8: Yeah, that's where I was confused.
- 38:27Speaker 5: This would only be a tape that if they decide
- 38:29Speaker 5: to put it out to weirdos on the internet like us...
- 38:32Speaker 5: Because that stuff kind of does get out, actually. In
- 38:35Speaker 5: the age of the internet, there are many things that
- 38:37Speaker 5: I'd heard about that I thought I'd never see, and
- 38:39Speaker 5: now I've seen. I'm like, oh, Jesus, no wonder they
- 38:41Speaker 5: didn't put this stuff out. So, yeah, everything sort of
- 38:44Speaker 5: makes its way out on the internet once it's in existence.
- 38:48Speaker 5: So this is pretty much how it would work. We'd
- 38:50Speaker 5: eventually be watching the footage. So I guess that's what
- 38:55Speaker 5: it was. The master tape leaked. We've seen it, people.
- 38:58Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 38:58Speaker 6: All right. Well, apparently in 1977, there was live TV.
- 39:03Speaker 5: Yeah, there was. But usually, I don't think Johnny didn't
- 39:07Speaker 5: go directly out live because Lord knows what, Sammy Davis Jr.
- 39:11Speaker 5: would come on and do something awful. They'd have to
- 39:14Speaker 5: run a deal. Because even Saturday Night Live became not
- 39:17Speaker 5: live because somebody was going to say the F word.
- 39:20Speaker 5: So they had that seven second delay that they built in.
- 39:23Speaker 5: They were like, okay, as soon as they say it,
- 39:24Speaker 5: we can bleep them out. Even though technically it's live,
- 39:28Speaker 5: it's also delayed just enough for us to catch whatever
- 39:31Speaker 5: horrible thing they say. So, yeah, I don't know. That
- 39:35Speaker 5: part was kind of interesting. And the fact that you
- 39:39Speaker 5: said in 1977, they were so specific. The reason it's
- 39:44Speaker 5: in 1977, I'm like, you could have just made this
- 39:46Speaker 5: story happen because guess what?
- 39:47Speaker 7: It's fake.
- 39:48Speaker 5: No, they specifically made it because there's only one Halloween
- 39:53Speaker 5: that falls on a Monday that would have been the
- 39:55Speaker 5: beginning of Sweeps Weeks in the entirety of the 70s
- 39:58Speaker 5: and it was 1977. I was like, you could have
- 40:01Speaker 5: just said that. We weren't going to check. Even dorks
- 40:03Speaker 5: like us wouldn't have bothered checking. But yeah, they did
- 40:06Speaker 5: the research to go, this is the only Halloween Monday
- 40:11Speaker 5: in the 70s. Like, it all falls on 1977.
- 40:12Speaker 1: I was like, wow.
- 40:12Speaker 5: Dang. That's... You guys went to some extra work for
- 40:18Speaker 5: that one. Good for you. But it also reminded me, again,
- 40:27Speaker 5: watching late night television as long as I have, it's
- 40:30Speaker 5: been a while since I've had a good Billy Carter joke.
- 40:34Speaker 5: They've really gone out of style these days. I don't
- 40:36Speaker 5: know why.
- 40:37Speaker 12: Before there was Roger Clinton, we had Billy Carter.
- 40:43Speaker 5: Roger clinton exactly like i know who that is but
- 40:47Speaker 5: again you had the butt of the joke that became
- 40:49Speaker 5: like the go-to for late night television like there's always
- 40:52Speaker 5: somebody to make jokes about so yeah i like that
- 40:55Speaker 5: they were just realistic enough that like yeah yeah billy
- 40:58Speaker 5: carter jokes that's what it's all about man so i
- 41:04Speaker 5: don't know where else do you want to dive into
- 41:06Speaker 5: this i.
- 41:07Speaker 8: Don't know my brain's still processing yeah yeah you really
- 41:10Speaker 8: just got hit with it well yeah it usually takes
- 41:12Speaker 8: me a day or two to that's.
- 41:14Speaker 5: Why i don't do these also as time's going on
- 41:17Speaker 5: i sort of like the extra processing time just to
- 41:19Speaker 5: wrap my head around some of these crazy movies so
- 41:22Speaker 5: yeah because i'm.
- 41:22Speaker 8: Sure i'll be in the car on the way home going.
- 41:24Speaker 5: Wait a minute you know what we did need a
- 41:30Speaker 5: couple extra logos at the beginning of They were a
- 41:33Speaker 5: little upset that we didn't get six or eight.
- 41:34Speaker 10: Who made what?
- 41:35Speaker 1: I think it was eight or nine different productions.
- 41:38Speaker 5: How many hands are in the pocket?
- 41:41Speaker 6: I love communal work, but what do you do? Is
- 41:44Speaker 6: it just a various paper that you sign?
- 41:47Speaker 8: I feel bad for every studio that is involved. That
- 41:52Speaker 8: wasn't the one that had the animated.
- 41:53Speaker 5: Yeah, the animated horror characters were badass.
- 41:57Speaker 6: Who was that again?
- 41:58Speaker 5: I don't even remember. Good Fiend? Yeah, I think that
- 42:02Speaker 5: was it.
- 42:02Speaker 6: Well done.
- 42:04Speaker 5: That should be at the front of every movie.
- 42:05Speaker 1: Right.
- 42:06Speaker 6: Can't you condense the other ones? Good Fiend and Friends?
- 42:09Speaker 5: Just a list that scrolls by, and these guys too,
- 42:12Speaker 5: but mostly Good Fiend.
- 42:13Speaker 8: I have to say that tops the one that was
- 42:15Speaker 8: at the end of Buffy. With the little alien.
- 42:21Speaker 5: Yeah. We don't like him anyway. Buffy I like. That guy.
- 42:26Speaker 5: Now we have reason to be.
- 42:27Speaker 8: Like, I wasn't trying to bring that up.
- 42:29Speaker 5: Well, I was saying, though, that is his production company
- 42:32Speaker 5: because then it was on Angel and it was on
- 42:34Speaker 5: whatever else he tried to do after that. And then
- 42:38Speaker 5: slowly we've worked him out of the scenario. Just bring
- 42:42Speaker 5: back Buffy.
- 42:42Speaker 2: Come on now.
- 42:45Speaker 7: Doug Jones.
- 42:48Speaker 5: The Gentleman.
- 42:49Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 42:49Speaker 5: The gentleman himself.
- 42:51Speaker 7: Yeah, that episode, The Gentleman, about those tall, scary guys.
- 42:56Speaker 6: He's a tall, scary guy. Very true.
- 42:59Speaker 5: But he's so nice.
- 43:00Speaker 1: I know.
- 43:00Speaker 5: He's so sweet. Not scary as a person. He's very
- 43:05Speaker 5: scary in most of his creatures. But yeah, not so
- 43:08Speaker 5: scary as a regular dude. He is very tall. And skinny.
- 43:13Speaker 5: But cuddly. If you get anywhere... Oh, see, I have.
- 43:17Speaker 5: If you get anywhere near him, you will be cuddled, so.
- 43:20Speaker 8: Well.
- 43:20Speaker 5: Fair warning.
- 43:21Speaker 8: That's just great.
- 43:22Speaker 6: I want to be cuddled by Doug Jones.
- 43:25Speaker 5: That can be arranged.
- 43:26Speaker 7: Maybe one day.
- 43:27Speaker 5: Well, just get in the room with him. It'll happen.
- 43:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 43:32Speaker 7: So....
- 43:35Speaker 5: Aside from cuddling... Again, this is tied to a lot
- 43:39Speaker 5: of specific things. There is a weird... And it was
- 43:44Speaker 5: only in thinking about it, I was like, no, this
- 43:45Speaker 5: was at the same time. So again, not that big
- 43:48Speaker 5: a deal for the outside world, but I had weird
- 43:50Speaker 5: connections with two different pieces of this movie. And then
- 43:53Speaker 5: I was like, wait, those happened at the same thing.
- 43:56Speaker 5: So our David Lead guy was actually in a movie
- 44:01Speaker 5: that I went to the film festival to cover, if
- 44:04Speaker 5: we're pretending like I'm an actual show.
- 44:06Speaker 2: And.
- 44:08Speaker 5: Talk to the director. It's actually a really good movie
- 44:10Speaker 5: called Animals. And if you want to watch something depressing
- 44:13Speaker 5: about people trying to get off drugs, it's really well made.
- 44:17Speaker 5: It's terrific acting and directing, but it's not a cheery movie.
- 44:22Speaker 5: But I remember that's one of the first times I
- 44:24Speaker 5: recognized him by name. He's been around for a long time.
- 44:27Speaker 5: He's in The Dark Knight, for God's sake. I forgot
- 44:29Speaker 5: he's one of the cops in The Dark Knight.
- 44:31Speaker 8: Oh, that's right.
- 44:32Speaker 5: At the very beginning, right? Yeah, he's in there with
- 44:34Speaker 5: the Joker in the Dark Knight. What? Oh, man. I
- 44:36Speaker 5: didn't remember that until today when I started to look.
- 44:38Speaker 5: I was like, what else do I know him from?
- 44:40Speaker 5: He's been in tons of stuff. Yeah. But yeah, Animals
- 44:43Speaker 5: was the first one. And when they did the showing
- 44:48Speaker 5: of the movie and then they did a Q &
- 44:49Speaker 5: A kind of thing afterward, he was actually shooting whatever
- 44:52Speaker 5: his next thing was. So he couldn't physically be there.
- 44:55Speaker 5: He zoomed in. Which I was like, that's kind of cool.
- 44:58Speaker 5: Most people would be like, tough luck, can't do it.
- 45:00Speaker 5: He bothered to actually zoom in for the entire Q
- 45:03Speaker 5: & A and answer questions from weirdos in the audience.
- 45:05Speaker 5: So yeah, I have virtually been in the same room
- 45:08Speaker 5: with him. Pretend, sort of. But he was live talking
- 45:13Speaker 5: to us, so that was kind of cool.
- 45:14Speaker 1: I've seen him in various more horror documentary things, actually
- 45:20Speaker 1: talking about horror.
- 45:21Speaker 7: I feel like I haven't seen him acting in.
- 45:25Speaker 6: I mean, the Batman thing just like turned the light on.
- 45:27Speaker 6: I totally know exactly.
- 45:29Speaker 5: The biggest thing he's in, he's part of the little
- 45:32Speaker 5: crew in Ant-Man. So there's like Ant-Man and his three
- 45:35Speaker 5: guys that break into stuff with him. He's one of
- 45:37Speaker 5: the three guys. He has a crazy accent. Oh. So
- 45:40Speaker 5: he's like doing kind of a bit. Like that's the thing.
- 45:43Speaker 5: He's so like immersed in that weird character. Like you're like,
- 45:45Speaker 5: oh yeah, that guy. Like doesn't sound like him at
- 45:48Speaker 5: all because he's doing a crazy accent. But yeah, so
- 45:51Speaker 5: he's been in all three of those Ant-Man movies as
- 45:53Speaker 5: like this... way over here side character, but that's probably
- 45:57Speaker 5: the most mainstream thing people would probably know him from.
- 45:59Speaker 8: I haven't been in any of the Ant-Man movies.
- 46:01Speaker 5: Why not?
- 46:02Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 46:03Speaker 9: God.
- 46:05Speaker 1: Well, I'm glad he.
- 46:06Speaker 6: I'm sorry, my mind is being blown right now.
- 46:08Speaker 5: I'm telling you, he's been in a lot of stuff,
- 46:11Speaker 5: but he's just not like a household name, and maybe
- 46:13Speaker 5: that's because nobody knows how to say his last name.
- 46:16Speaker 5: That David something. Anyway, that guy. I like that guy.
- 46:20Speaker 8: So you're talking accents, and where is he from? What
- 46:24Speaker 8: sort of accent does he have?
- 46:26Speaker 5: He literally is from America.
- 46:29Speaker 6: He's from Kansas.
- 46:30Speaker 5: Yeah, he's the most American you can get. What's his background?
- 46:34Speaker 8: I do not care anymore.
- 46:36Speaker 5: But I will, while we're figuring out his old school days,
- 46:40Speaker 5: he is like super geek and like horror aficionado. Like
- 46:44Speaker 5: that is even what the directors were saying why they
- 46:47Speaker 5: came on board with him for this role. It's like
- 46:49Speaker 5: he was already kind of in the running and then
- 46:51Speaker 5: when they like Looked him up, he's like, they're reading
- 46:55Speaker 5: an article in Fangoria that's written by him. He's writing,
- 47:00Speaker 5: he was going over all the horror hosts from back
- 47:03Speaker 5: in the day. He's the one writing the article about
- 47:05Speaker 5: horror hosts. So it's like, yeah, he's that level of dorkiness.
- 47:08Speaker 5: Good for him. And then he's written, he's a writer
- 47:11Speaker 5: in general, but he's also written his own comic that
- 47:14Speaker 5: was horror themed. And then, I don't know, I've seen
- 47:18Speaker 5: him on.
- 47:20Speaker 5: I don't love Sven Gulli, but I love the idea
- 47:23Speaker 5: of what they do there. And yeah, one of the
- 47:27Speaker 5: clips I saw him in, he's wearing one of his shirts.
- 47:28Speaker 5: So I'm pretty sure he's been on there before and
- 47:30Speaker 5: they've done interviews with him. But also there's a reference
- 47:33Speaker 5: in there that like his parents are watching and Berwyn,
- 47:37Speaker 5: which is the running joke in Svengoolie that they all
- 47:40Speaker 5: say the stupid name every time they mention Berwyn.
- 47:43Speaker 8: What is that anyway?
- 47:44Speaker 5: It's a city. It's a small town that one of the...
- 47:47Speaker 5: I think the chicken character is from there or something,
- 47:50Speaker 5: but every time... Anything comes up, they play that. Again,
- 47:53Speaker 5: that's part of my issues with Suniguli.
- 47:55Speaker 6: He is also apparently in the music video for Passion
- 47:59Speaker 6: Pit's Constant Conversations. Well, there you go.
- 48:03Speaker 1: 2012.
- 48:03Speaker 5: That's how hip he is.
- 48:03Speaker 7: I love that song.
- 48:05Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 48:06Speaker 8: This picture of him that I just clicked on is
- 48:09Speaker 8: quite dreamy.
- 48:10Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 48:11Speaker 8: He just looked kind of like a dork.
- 48:12Speaker 5: He's a handsome man.
- 48:14Speaker 8: What do you want?
- 48:15Speaker 1: Apparently he's Iranian, by the way. So that's where the last.
- 48:18Speaker 5: Name comes from. Kansasian.
- 48:20Speaker 6: I was going to say, Kansasian?
- 48:21Speaker 7: His father was Iranian.
- 48:24Speaker 5: So, Dastmalchian?
- 48:26Speaker 7: Dastmalchian.
- 48:28Speaker 6: Dalmatian?
- 48:29Speaker 5: Sounds like Kansas to me. I would love it if
- 48:32Speaker 5: it was Dalmatian. It's so close.
- 48:33Speaker 1: All of that to say, I think he does a
- 48:35Speaker 1: really great job as the lead character. And I want
- 48:38Speaker 1: to see him get more lead roles like that.
- 48:40Speaker 5: Yeah, you can see him in character, but also you
- 48:44Speaker 5: can see he really is drawn to horror enough that
- 48:46Speaker 5: it doesn't come off. fake, he's super into this kind
- 48:50Speaker 5: of stuff.
- 48:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 48:51Speaker 5: I think that's why he was so immersed in this role.
- 48:54Speaker 1: Well, I guess he was like an executive producer on
- 48:57Speaker 1: it also.
- 48:59Speaker 7: I thought his name on there.
- 49:00Speaker 8: He's in a movie called Angry Video Game Nerd the Movie.
- 49:04Speaker 6: Oh.
- 49:05Speaker 5: Yeah. Like I said, he's been working quite a while.
- 49:07Speaker 8: Seems fitting.
- 49:08Speaker 5: He's been working for quite a while.
- 49:10Speaker 7: Relatable.
- 49:10Speaker 8: Oh, he's in Blade Runner. The new one.
- 49:13Speaker 5: I was going to say, wow, he must have been
- 49:17Speaker 5: a kid. But the other weird, because it was weird
- 49:20Speaker 5: that I sort of almost ran into him virtually, but
- 49:23Speaker 5: that same weekend, that same film festival, they premiered a
- 49:29Speaker 5: movie there that was An Honest Liar, which, by the way,
- 49:34Speaker 5: freaking awesome.
- 49:35Speaker 8: Watch it.
- 49:36Speaker 5: But it is a documentary about the amazing Randy. Yes.
- 49:40Speaker 5: Who is who the Carmichael character is based on. And
- 49:43Speaker 5: his entire, like it's almost word for word. Like his
- 49:46Speaker 5: entire life, he started out as like a magician and
- 49:50Speaker 5: like he did all kinds of crazy tricks. And then
- 49:53Speaker 5: just turned a corner and was like, no, you guys
- 49:55Speaker 5: are screwing people over. And like devoted the rest of
- 49:58Speaker 5: his life to just busting people that were scamming people.
- 50:01Speaker 5: That were doing spoon bending and all of that crazy
- 50:04Speaker 5: shit that caught on in the 70s. And like he
- 50:06Speaker 5: spent the whole rest of his life just kind of
- 50:09Speaker 5: busting people and so much so that there was a
- 50:12Speaker 5: reward offered.
- 50:13Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 50:13Speaker 5: That he did that exact same bit of like, I
- 50:15Speaker 5: will give you this amount of money. All you have
- 50:17Speaker 5: to do is prove it in my circumstances, not in
- 50:20Speaker 5: your shady circumstances. Under controlled situation, make your paranormal thing happen.
- 50:26Speaker 5: Here's the money. Nobody ever did it. So there was a, yeah,
- 50:30Speaker 5: that documentary. He was there that weekend. Old man that
- 50:35Speaker 5: he was at that point. This was like 2014, I think.
- 50:38Speaker 5: And he was an old guy by then. And yeah,
- 50:42Speaker 5: he was there, did an amazing Q & A. And
- 50:45Speaker 5: I do have a picture of me with him. So
- 50:48Speaker 5: I ran into the amazing Randy while he was still around.
- 50:51Speaker 5: So that's pretty amazing.
- 50:52Speaker 7: Yeah, I remember I saw that documentary.
- 50:53Speaker 5: It's really good. It is really good. So go watch
- 50:57Speaker 5: An Honest Liar after you watch this movie because it's
- 51:00Speaker 5: very good. But it was strange that both those were
- 51:03Speaker 5: the same weekend. I just thought that was weird. Like,
- 51:06Speaker 5: I thought about it. I was like, oh, yeah, that.
- 51:08Speaker 5: And that. And I went, wait, isn't that the same year?
- 51:10Speaker 5: I'm pretty sure it was. So I thought that was
- 51:13Speaker 5: very strange. Interesting. But that leads a lot into the
- 51:16Speaker 5: whole Amazing Randy versus the Carmichael aspect of this. Because
- 51:21Speaker 5: it's a huge portion of it. It's like it's the
- 51:24Speaker 5: only way all of this stuff really unfolds. Goes horribly,
- 51:28Speaker 5: horribly wrong.
- 51:29Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 51:29Speaker 5: Like, had he not been there that night, would it
- 51:31Speaker 5: have been a normal show? I don't know. I don't
- 51:35Speaker 5: know that you were destined for a normal show, but
- 51:37Speaker 5: it certainly got dialed up quite a few notches by Carmichael.
- 51:42Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 51:43Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 51:44Speaker 6: Somebody wiggling a $ 100, 000 check in your face is also
- 51:47Speaker 6: sort of offensive. Just be like, come on, man.
- 51:49Speaker 5: Oh, I don't think so. Well, don't say you don't
- 51:52Speaker 5: need his money, because the last guy that said I
- 51:54Speaker 5: don't need his money... Immediately started convulsing.
- 51:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 51:58Speaker 8: And then died.
- 51:59Speaker 5: And then died. I should have just asked for the money.
- 52:02Speaker 8: But yeah, anybody who wants to, anyone who wants to
- 52:04Speaker 8: wave $ 100, 000 in my face, feel free. I'll listen. I'll
- 52:09Speaker 8: listen to your turn.
- 52:09Speaker 5: I'll just go along with it. What gets me that check?
- 52:12Speaker 6: Okay, cool.
- 52:13Speaker 1: Yeah, that was a very irresponsible. parapsychologist whatever her title.
- 52:18Speaker 5: Was choices were made is this the return of mental
- 52:21Speaker 5: illness girl yes.
- 52:23Speaker 1: Paranormal edition yeah uh don't be her guardian well.
- 52:28Speaker 5: I'm gonna say she did sort of adopt her right
- 52:31Speaker 5: i was like i feel like that's a pretty great
- 52:33Speaker 5: you're probably not supposed to be waiting i.
- 52:35Speaker 8: Think in the 70s people just adopted kids.
- 52:38Speaker 5: Probably true based on tv shows i've seen different strokes
- 52:41Speaker 5: yeah everybody just adopts whoever they want it's all good Yeah, that's.
- 52:45Speaker 1: What we call dual relationships, and they are not allowed.
- 52:48Speaker 5: According to this movie, it's fine.
- 52:51Speaker 7: If someone's a client, but then you also... For example, we.
- 52:54Speaker 1: Have a foster care program, but employees aren't allowed to
- 52:58Speaker 1: be foster parents for the kids in our foster care
- 53:00Speaker 1: program because they're clients there.
- 53:02Speaker 5: What if you really like that puppy, though? You want
- 53:03Speaker 5: to take it home?
- 53:04Speaker 7: You can't.
- 53:05Speaker 5: You can't.
- 53:05Speaker 7: You've got to quit your job, I guess.
- 53:07Speaker 2: Okay.
- 53:07Speaker 7: And people have done that.
- 53:08Speaker 5: If you're that committed.
- 53:09Speaker 1: To a child, I suppose.
- 53:10Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 53:11Speaker 1: Although I don't know why he would be committed to
- 53:12Speaker 1: the sole survivor of a satanic cult house explosion who
- 53:18Speaker 1: speaks like a demon.
- 53:19Speaker 5: Yeah, that was another one that was like, I'm like,
- 53:22Speaker 5: I'm watching the footage they're showing. I'm like, so like Waco?
- 53:25Speaker 5: And then if you read, it's like, yeah. So like
- 53:28Speaker 5: basically they based it on. So take the 70s Anton
- 53:31Speaker 5: LaVey bullshit that was going on and then cram it
- 53:33Speaker 5: into the Waco, busting them and burning things down. And
- 53:37Speaker 5: it's pretty much what we end up with. So yeah.
- 53:39Speaker 7: That, yeah, there is a lot going on.
- 53:41Speaker 5: There was a lot of things borrowed from in this.
- 53:43Speaker 5: I kind of liked it because it was just subtle enough.
- 53:45Speaker 5: They didn't make it about these things.
- 53:47Speaker 8: They just sort of stole.
- 53:50Speaker 5: From reality and were like, yeah, these are things that
- 53:52Speaker 5: were going on at that time and we just took
- 53:53Speaker 5: from them all.
- 53:54Speaker 7: Yeah, because the Bohemian Grove.
- 53:58Speaker 5: That's a real thing.
- 54:00Speaker 1: Not to sound like a conspiracy theory.
- 54:03Speaker 5: Did you read the rundown on it, though?
- 54:05Speaker 7: Yeah, I listened to a podcast about it before.
- 54:07Speaker 5: That's just extra dorky.
- 54:08Speaker 7: Yeah, it's wild.
- 54:10Speaker 6: Can we have a poor person's version of that?
- 54:12Speaker 8: Yes, we can.
- 54:13Speaker 6: Just like, I don't know, Magbar or something.
- 54:17Speaker 8: Grover from the Muppets would be our mascot.
- 54:20Speaker 5: And then we'll like... I'm on board with this already.
- 54:21Speaker 6: And then we'll take over the decisions of like, I
- 54:24Speaker 6: don't know, local neighborhood councils or something.
- 54:27Speaker 5: Yeah, neighborhood advisory board.
- 54:29Speaker 8: We would have to start small.
- 54:31Speaker 5: Isn't this the group that Fred Flintstone was in? The
- 54:33Speaker 5: Water Buffaloes or something?
- 54:34Speaker 8: The Royal Order.
- 54:35Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 54:36Speaker 8: And the Grand Poobah.
- 54:37Speaker 5: Him and or the Honeymooners because it's the same show essentially.
- 54:40Speaker 5: They both had that same little group that they would
- 54:43Speaker 5: go off to and have their little man meetings, which
- 54:45Speaker 5: is always weird if you ask me.
- 54:47Speaker 7: Oh, is that what like.
- 54:50Speaker 7: It's not like the Lions Club.
- 54:52Speaker 1: What are those just like random old people clubs?
- 54:55Speaker 8: Well, you got the Moose Lodge, you got your Kiwanis,
- 54:57Speaker 8: you got your Knights of Columbus, you got your Eagle Oddfellows.
- 55:00Speaker 10: Yes, all of them.
- 55:01Speaker 5: I don't trust any of those, by the way.
- 55:03Speaker 7: Yeah, all of those.
- 55:05Speaker 5: How odd do you got to be, man?
- 55:07Speaker 7: Are those poor people bogeymen?
- 55:08Speaker 8: No one's knocking on my door to ask me to
- 55:10Speaker 8: be an Oddfellow.
- 55:10Speaker 6: Right, you sink them out.
- 55:12Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 55:13Speaker 3: Right?
- 55:13Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 55:14Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 55:15Speaker 8: Then you got your Freemasons. You got your.
- 55:18Speaker 7: Oh, yeah.
- 55:18Speaker 8: That's as far as I know.
- 55:19Speaker 5: It's a little more secretive. So the Bohemian Grove, it
- 55:22Speaker 5: gives the address of where they're located in California here.
- 55:25Speaker 8: Well, that's no fun anymore.
- 55:27Speaker 5: The membership boasts several politicians, including three presidents of the
- 55:31Speaker 5: United States, industrialists, and other noted figures. One of the
- 55:35Speaker 5: Grove's real founders was... This guy's name. the author of
- 55:39Speaker 5: several horror stories, and the cynical Devil's Dictionary, the Grove's rituals,
- 55:44Speaker 5: which have been described as falling between occult and kitsch,
- 55:48Speaker 5: include frequent images of owls. So it wasn't even like
- 55:51Speaker 5: they came up with an offshoot version. They just stole
- 55:53Speaker 5: the owls.
- 55:54Speaker 7: Yeah, have you seen the picture? I looked it up earlier.
- 55:56Speaker 7: There's a picture of the giant owl statue, and.
- 55:59Speaker 5: It's, like, really creepy.
- 56:00Speaker 6: I wrote in my notes, cute owl.
- 56:02Speaker 5: I mean, yeah. Owls are cool.
- 56:04Speaker 6: I mean.
- 56:05Speaker 5: If you're going to sucker somebody into joining your club,
- 56:06Speaker 5: why not have a giant owl?
- 56:07Speaker 1: Yeah, that's like the actual 30-foot owl statue.
- 56:10Speaker 8: Yeah, that's not creepy at all. Now that it's, because
- 56:14Speaker 8: I read about it years ago and it was.
- 56:16Speaker 5: Still like, ooh.
- 56:17Speaker 8: They had like one or two grainy photos. And now
- 56:21Speaker 8: that it's got like its own Wikipedia page.
- 56:23Speaker 2: I know.
- 56:24Speaker 8: And you can find the address.
- 56:25Speaker 5: I don't care anymore. This isn't cool. This is just
- 56:27Speaker 5: Scientology now. I know where that place is located too.
- 56:30Speaker 5: I don't want to go there either.
- 56:33Speaker 7: Yeah. And apparently it's pretty lame. They just get together
- 56:36Speaker 7: and do, like, plays.
- 56:37Speaker 5: Yeah, that's the thing.
- 56:39Speaker 1: It's not even, like, human sacrifice or anything.
- 56:41Speaker 6: That's how they control the country? Through plays?
- 56:44Speaker 5: That's enough. They want to lull them into sleep? Here's
- 56:47Speaker 5: a really bad play. That's why I hate everything.
- 56:51Speaker 8: Because.
- 56:52Speaker 5: Hypnotize you.
- 56:54Speaker 8: The secret societies are just a bunch of idiots drinking
- 56:57Speaker 8: beer and... Saying, how about we raise gasoline prices?
- 57:01Speaker 5: That's all it is. Bastards.
- 57:05Speaker 8: Probably not.
- 57:06Speaker 5: That's pretty lame. So, would you go to this show?
- 57:16Speaker 5: Were it real?
- 57:18Speaker 8: Oh, the show we just watched?
- 57:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 57:20Speaker 5: I mean, if you didn't know what was going to
- 57:22Speaker 5: happen and they were like, ooh, we're going to do
- 57:24Speaker 5: this spooky Halloween edition of this show that you like.
- 57:27Speaker 8: If I knew it was going to be a Halloween edition, yes.
- 57:29Speaker 8: Because what I saw in this show and the clips
- 57:33Speaker 8: that they were talking about and how Carson was ahead
- 57:37Speaker 8: of them in the ratings, I probably would have just
- 57:39Speaker 8: watched Carson.
- 57:41Speaker 5: I mean, Carson was pretty good.
- 57:43Speaker 7: Although after the... chair thing with Lily.
- 57:47Speaker 5: Would you have been like, well, time to go.
- 57:49Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what I would be like. Okay.
- 57:50Speaker 5: I'm not going to stay here. Just a couple more
- 57:55Speaker 5: years and Letterman will be on. It's fine.
- 57:57Speaker 6: You wouldn't have left after the projectile vomit of the
- 57:59Speaker 6: black ichor from Christmas.
- 58:01Speaker 5: I mean, that guy left, so you're not going to
- 58:03Speaker 5: get hit with it anymore. As long as you don't
- 58:05Speaker 5: get hit with black goo, it's fine.
- 58:07Speaker 7: Yeah, that's true.
- 58:08Speaker 8: You know, in movies like this, they never comment on
- 58:11Speaker 8: the smell of the vomit. And regular vomit stinks. I'm
- 58:15Speaker 8: sure we've all been around.
- 58:16Speaker 5: I don't like it.
- 58:17Speaker 8: Vomit, yeah. I'm getting queasy talking about it.
- 58:21Speaker 7: Yeah, you're right. I bet that.
- 58:23Speaker 8: The black goo vomit has to stink.
- 58:27Speaker 5: Maybe.
- 58:28Speaker 6: Black licorice smell, maybe.
- 58:30Speaker 5: Then I'm being bored. Wait a minute. You've got me back.
- 58:32Speaker 5: There's only one in 10 or 20 people that's on
- 58:35Speaker 5: board with that, but I am one of those. I'll
- 58:39Speaker 5: take it. That's how you get sucked right into the
- 58:42Speaker 5: dark side there.
- 58:44Speaker 8: I do love black licorice.
- 58:45Speaker 5: Satan shows up and he's just like, hey, I've got
- 58:48Speaker 5: some licorice for you.
- 58:49Speaker 6: That's all he has for you to eat.
- 58:50Speaker 7: I'm good with that.
- 58:53Speaker 5: I'm like, all right, let's make this happen. Do I
- 58:55Speaker 5: get that check and some licorice? Because I'm on board.
- 58:59Speaker 5: You won me over.
- 59:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 59:05Speaker 5: Mr. Riggles. It's another one of those that several... variations
- 59:11Speaker 5: i mean your go-to is your captain howdy obviously yes
- 59:14Speaker 5: but i remember and this was not even late night
- 59:18Speaker 5: this was well again we get those little clips at
- 59:20Speaker 5: the beginning where he looks like he's turned into geraldo
- 59:23Speaker 5: so Along those lines, somewhere in the middle there, I'm
- 59:26Speaker 5: guessing in the 90s, there was one that I don't
- 59:29Speaker 5: know if I was actually, I feel like I watched
- 59:32Speaker 5: the entirety of the episode. So I don't know if
- 59:34Speaker 5: I taped it because I had a job. I didn't
- 59:36Speaker 5: like hang around the house watching daytime television. It's usually
- 59:39Speaker 5: got awful. And this is no exception. I don't even
- 59:41Speaker 5: remember which one it was, though. I don't remember if
- 59:43Speaker 5: it was a Geraldo or.
- 59:45Speaker 8: If it was who the hell it was. I'm thinking
- 59:46Speaker 8: that it was Donahue.
- 59:48Speaker 5: It might have been, because Donahue led the pack on
- 59:50Speaker 5: that stuff. Like, he was legitimately good at one time,
- 59:52Speaker 5: and then just went, fuck it, ratings. Like, he just
- 59:54Speaker 5: started doing that same garbage that everybody else did. But
- 59:57Speaker 5: there was one that was, they had a girl on there,
- 1:00:00Speaker 5: and hers was Mr. Bojangles.
- 1:00:03Speaker 6: Oh.
- 1:00:03Speaker 8: I think that was.
- 1:00:04Speaker 5: And Mr. Bojangles, like, lived inside of her, and took
- 1:00:07Speaker 5: over and did things when she, when it came about.
- 1:00:11Speaker 5: and she had no control and she didn't really remember
- 1:00:14Speaker 5: but she knew it was that I'm awake but I'm
- 1:00:16Speaker 5: not awake kind of a thing and Mr. Bojangles came
- 1:00:19Speaker 5: along and I was just like holy shit this is.
- 1:00:21Speaker 8: Pretty weird well according to my mom in the early
- 1:00:25Speaker 8: 70s who.
- 1:00:26Speaker 5: Has been possessed by a Satan demon oh.
- 1:00:28Speaker 8: Hang on just shut your whore mouth.
- 1:00:32Speaker 13: I mean I I wouldn't put it past her no
- 1:00:35Speaker 13: I wouldn't either no her sister this was the early
- 1:00:39Speaker 13: 70s and her sister was three or four And would
- 1:00:42Speaker 13: just sit there and have conversations through the radiator vents.
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: Nice.
- 1:00:47Speaker 8: Yeah, like one side of conversations. And people would be like,
- 1:00:51Speaker 8: who are you talking to? And her response was, I'm
- 1:00:53Speaker 8: talking to Mr.
- 1:00:54Speaker 6: Mop.
- 1:00:55Speaker 5: So this Mr. thing is... It's a thing.
- 1:00:58Speaker 8: There's something to it.
- 1:00:59Speaker 6: It's a thing.
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: What?
- 1:01:00Speaker 5: Okay, a ghost watch.
- 1:01:01Speaker 8: Well, they would be like, who's Mr.
- 1:01:03Speaker 5: Mop?
- 1:01:04Speaker 8: And she'd be like, well, he's my friend. He's dead.
- 1:01:06Speaker 8: He lives down there.
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 1:01:09Speaker 5: Was she talking to the furnace? Because then we're back
- 1:01:12Speaker 5: to Black Coat's daughter.
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:01:14Speaker 5: And then just hang out and talk to the furnace.
- 1:01:15Speaker 6: It's fine.
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: Well, in Ghostwatch, the ghost is Mr. Pipes, and they
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: call him that because he talks to them through the
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: clinking in the water pipes.
- 1:01:24Speaker 5: Everyone's insane. How about that?
- 1:01:26Speaker 8: That's just the Brits being silly.
- 1:01:28Speaker 7: Like, this is too coincidental. I don't know.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: I don't think I ever talked to... I'm trying to
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: think if my nieces were ever creepy and talked to ghosts.
- 1:01:35Speaker 5: I'm sure they are.
- 1:01:36Speaker 8: Kids are creepy.
- 1:01:36Speaker 7: It's a given.
- 1:01:38Speaker 8: But what does a demon have to do to rise
- 1:01:40Speaker 8: to the ranks of captain above mister?
- 1:01:43Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, is that the thing? The rest of
- 1:01:44Speaker 5: them are all just mister, but he actually entered into
- 1:01:47Speaker 5: some sort of demon military unit and became captain.
- 1:01:50Speaker 8: Well, that would make you, in the British Navy, mister
- 1:01:52Speaker 8: would make you the first mate.
- 1:01:54Speaker 5: Swabby. Nobody wants to be Swabby Demon.
- 1:01:59Speaker 7: Mr.
- 1:02:00Speaker 6: Mop.
- 1:02:01Speaker 5: Mr. Mop gets to work. Clean up. There's a lot
- 1:02:04Speaker 5: of black goo. Somebody coughed up over there. Clean that
- 1:02:07Speaker 5: shit up.
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: I just want to know where is the female representation
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: of the demon?
- 1:02:11Speaker 5: Why is it on Mr.
- 1:02:11Speaker 7: It's the 70s, so she would have been like, uh, Miz.
- 1:02:14Speaker 7: That's Mizg.
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: It's a parallel. There's only male demons and there's only
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: men allowed at Bohemian Grove.
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: Aha!
- 1:02:27Speaker 5: The women are there to die. Because that is the weird, again,
- 1:02:32Speaker 5: real world part of it. If you go back, it's
- 1:02:35Speaker 5: like they, where were the breakdowns on the years? The
- 1:02:38Speaker 5: footage they're showing of him or when he got involved
- 1:02:41Speaker 5: in that was 1969. The wife dies in 1976.
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:02:47Speaker 5: The folklore thing says if you make a deal with
- 1:02:50Speaker 5: the devil, you get seven years. And then he comes
- 1:02:53Speaker 5: to collect.
- 1:02:54Speaker 7: They thought of everything.
- 1:02:55Speaker 5: They really kind of, like, more than I expected. For
- 1:02:57Speaker 5: something that you're just watching a thing live going on,
- 1:03:01Speaker 5: you wouldn't think they'd be able to insert all these
- 1:03:03Speaker 5: details in there. But they kind of do. Like, it's
- 1:03:06Speaker 5: really well done.
- 1:03:07Speaker 7: I like that.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: I remember after I watched it the first time, people
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: were saying that you could spot the wife in the background.
- 1:03:14Speaker 5: Yeah, I kept looking this time, too, because I saw that.
- 1:03:17Speaker 5: I mean, you definitely see in the very obvious ones,
- 1:03:19Speaker 5: but supposedly there's several other inserts along the way that
- 1:03:23Speaker 5: must be super quick, because it's not real obvious.
- 1:03:25Speaker 7: I missed them.
- 1:03:26Speaker 8: I wasn't watching it for it.
- 1:03:27Speaker 5: I was watching 4.1 in particular, and I didn't see it.
- 1:03:30Speaker 8: I was watching it for the glitches, because every time
- 1:03:33Speaker 8: it glitched, something would happen.
- 1:03:34Speaker 5: Then it's just Fight Club. Yeah. And it's just Brad
- 1:03:37Speaker 5: Pitt doing creepy things and showing porn. Work some porn
- 1:03:41Speaker 5: in here. Come on now.
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: It is fun how they also mess with the aspect
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: ratio at different points.
- 1:03:49Speaker 7: Like when it's the TV camera.
- 1:03:52Speaker 8: Oh, and then like the behind the scenes.
- 1:03:53Speaker 5: Because you have the guy wandering around with the regular
- 1:03:56Speaker 5: camera because you see him run away at one point.
- 1:03:59Speaker 5: But he had like a shoulder cam that he's doing
- 1:04:02Speaker 5: like the black and white footage versus the studio cam.
- 1:04:06Speaker 6: So yeah.
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: I mean, yeah.
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: You can tell that this movie was made by people
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: who really like horror.
- 1:04:12Speaker 5: And know a lot about it. And know the format. Yeah,
- 1:04:14Speaker 5: that's the thing. I was like, it really structured. So
- 1:04:17Speaker 5: much so, maybe the thing I was most impressed with
- 1:04:20Speaker 5: was the going to commercial cards. Because I've always been fascinated. Because, like, again,
- 1:04:25Speaker 5: Tonight Show had a version of those, but they were
- 1:04:27Speaker 5: pretty generic. But you get to, like, late night. Like,
- 1:04:30Speaker 5: Letterman's were awesome. epic and like weird and ridiculous but
- 1:04:33Speaker 5: there were always new ones conan's like pretty good and
- 1:04:36Speaker 5: then that's what i was gonna say and then the
- 1:04:37Speaker 5: next phase was then conan did it and he did
- 1:04:39Speaker 5: kind of that same thing they were just as weird
- 1:04:41Speaker 5: as letterman's but totally different but there were always new
- 1:04:45Speaker 5: ones like it's not like you saw the same ones
- 1:04:47Speaker 5: every week like maybe later you get one back but
- 1:04:50Speaker 5: it'd be like a month or two down the line
- 1:04:52Speaker 5: you might get a repeat for the most part every
- 1:04:54Speaker 5: night of the week every time they went to a
- 1:04:56Speaker 5: commercial it was a different artwork and And I'm like,
- 1:04:59Speaker 5: I was fascinated that they had that. It was different
- 1:05:01Speaker 5: every time. It was like, it was that attention to detail.
- 1:05:04Speaker 5: I was like, these dorks also know late night television
- 1:05:06Speaker 5: and that's impressive. So yeah, just for the late night accuracies,
- 1:05:11Speaker 5: I'm on board with this.
- 1:05:14Speaker 7: The band was rocking.
- 1:05:15Speaker 5: Yeah. They were very relaxed. I guess that was the
- 1:05:18Speaker 5: seventies aspect because you start out, they're all still wearing
- 1:05:20Speaker 5: suits and stuff. So by the time you get the, again, Letterman,
- 1:05:23Speaker 5: they're just like, ah, just show You guys know what
- 1:05:25Speaker 5: to do.
- 1:05:26Speaker 6: Well, unfortunately, Miss Cleo something, who was supposed to perform.
- 1:05:31Speaker 8: Yeah, we never got bumped.
- 1:05:32Speaker 10: I know.
- 1:05:33Speaker 5: What a job that would be, though. Like, I got
- 1:05:35Speaker 5: a job in this movie. I'm in a window that
- 1:05:37Speaker 5: pops up on a TV show that doesn't exist, and
- 1:05:40Speaker 5: I don't perform. So, I'm in the movie.
- 1:05:44Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:05:46Speaker 5: I still got paid. I was just like, wow, for you,
- 1:05:49Speaker 5: the character, and the actress.
- 1:05:50Speaker 8: But I mean, it's kind of fitting because since she
- 1:05:54Speaker 8: got bumped from the show, she may as well get
- 1:05:55Speaker 8: bumped from the movie.
- 1:05:56Speaker 5: I think you do get paid either way. So even
- 1:05:59Speaker 5: if you get bumped, you still get your check.
- 1:06:00Speaker 6: That's the best acting job.
- 1:06:02Speaker 5: You don't have to do anything. But being on there,
- 1:06:06Speaker 5: just the second you look, look, there I am. There
- 1:06:08Speaker 5: I am.
- 1:06:09Speaker 7: I survived.
- 1:06:10Speaker 5: I'm not a non-dead one. Just me and David hanging
- 1:06:14Speaker 5: out for the sequel.
- 1:06:15Speaker 8: I just wonder if that character five years later at concert,
- 1:06:19Speaker 8: she's about to perform the song. she would have performed
- 1:06:22Speaker 8: that night and she'd been like, I almost did this
- 1:06:24Speaker 8: and I would have been killed.
- 1:06:26Speaker 5: No, I think it would have to be like super serious.
- 1:06:28Speaker 5: She'd come out like one spotlight. She'd be like, it
- 1:06:30Speaker 5: was five years ago tonight. I was going to do
- 1:06:33Speaker 5: this very song. And then she just kind of, that's
- 1:06:35Speaker 5: how you bring in the audience. You really work up
- 1:06:37Speaker 5: that angle. And I think she could ride that for years.
- 1:06:43Speaker 5: I do want that now though. I want to come
- 1:06:45Speaker 5: back in like five years. And then he's in an
- 1:06:48Speaker 5: asylum somewhere for having stabbed a 13-year-old girl on potentially television,
- 1:06:54Speaker 5: on tape at least.
- 1:06:54Speaker 8: I'm very curious as to what happened after that.
- 1:06:57Speaker 5: And then she's the only other one, so she comes
- 1:06:59Speaker 5: to visit him in the asylum. She's like, I still
- 1:07:01Speaker 5: didn't get to do my song.
- 1:07:04Speaker 8: You said you'd have me back at a later date.
- 1:07:06Speaker 5: Carson won't call me back.
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: This is terrible.
- 1:07:10Speaker 5: Dude, that's our only people left for the sequel.
- 1:07:12Speaker 7: That would be a fun sequel. I'd watch that.
- 1:07:16Speaker 6: Why Mr. Riggles? I get, like, why, but, like... Well,
- 1:07:20Speaker 6: you have, like, the overall god, Satan, as Abraxas, right?
- 1:07:27Speaker 6: Abraxas sounds menacing, foreign, or whatever. And then you have Mr. Pipes,
- 1:07:33Speaker 6: which is like... Well, Mr.
- 1:07:34Speaker 8: Riggles, in this case, is talking to a young kid, so.
- 1:07:38Speaker 6: Well, I guess so.
- 1:07:39Speaker 8: I mean, I know I'd rather have, like.
- 1:07:43Speaker 8: Mr. Yo-Yo as opposed to Satan. I can't even think.
- 1:07:50Speaker 8: Satan's played out at this point.
- 1:07:52Speaker 5: They're fun, but they're also just menacing enough. Captain Howdy
- 1:07:58Speaker 5: is creepy.
- 1:07:59Speaker 8: There's something about that to.
- 1:08:01Speaker 5: A child that you're like, ooh, no. That's how you
- 1:08:04Speaker 5: know Dee Snider is awesome because he told us to
- 1:08:06Speaker 5: stay away from Captain Howdy. The real hero of the
- 1:08:10Speaker 5: story is Dee Snider. It's always Dee Snider.
- 1:08:12Speaker 7: Dee Snider.
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: But also she, like, presumably at least had been living
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: with the cult of Abraxas.
- 1:08:19Speaker 5: For some time.
- 1:08:20Speaker 7: So, like, you already know who that is.
- 1:08:23Speaker 6: It's like, it's a lesser demon. It's just like, and
- 1:08:25Speaker 6: they just never wrote that down?
- 1:08:26Speaker 5: I mean, he's just leading you there anyway, right? Once
- 1:08:30Speaker 5: you come on board with the lesser demon, it's like
- 1:08:32Speaker 5: a pyramid scheme. You know, then you got to get
- 1:08:33Speaker 5: up to the next guy. And, like, eventually maybe you'll
- 1:08:36Speaker 5: be Grand Poobah, but that's years and years from now.
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:08:41Speaker 5: It's a long way to get to that station. Again,
- 1:08:43Speaker 5: maybe there's hierarchy. Maybe there's an Admiral Jimmy somewhere. You
- 1:08:47Speaker 5: got to get higher levels and status in this structured
- 1:08:51Speaker 5: demon world.
- 1:08:52Speaker 6: Demon community college to get to middle management.
- 1:08:54Speaker 8: Admiral Jimmy.
- 1:08:55Speaker 5: Admiral Jimmy coming at you.
- 1:08:57Speaker 8: General Slippin' Slide.
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: Also, I don't know how anyone could look at her
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: and not be like, oh, this is not good.
- 1:09:08Speaker 5: Points to that little girl.
- 1:09:09Speaker 8: Are you talking about free possession?
- 1:09:11Speaker 5: Either way. As soon as she comes on.
- 1:09:13Speaker 8: Yeah, that's what I meant.
- 1:09:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:09:15Speaker 7: They're like, oh, she's so cute.
- 1:09:16Speaker 5: And I'm like, really? I mean, yes, that's why it works.
- 1:09:20Speaker 5: Like she seems just cute enough that you're like, oh.
- 1:09:23Speaker 8: Nothing seems innocent.
- 1:09:24Speaker 5: It changes halfway in. I'm like, she's, no way, something.
- 1:09:29Speaker 7: Like the way she's just staring at the camera immediately.
- 1:09:31Speaker 5: I'm like, oh, that's not good. She's not possessed at all.
- 1:09:34Speaker 5: What are you talking about?
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: Guardian lady, you should be like, maybe next Halloween we
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: need to do some more work.
- 1:09:41Speaker 6: Yeah, what's up with that? Oh, my God.
- 1:09:43Speaker 5: The worst.
- 1:09:44Speaker 6: I know.
- 1:09:45Speaker 5: June.
- 1:09:46Speaker 10: June.
- 1:09:46Speaker 6: Why are you saying you think Jack's handsome? Like, what
- 1:09:49Speaker 6: is that? That's just ammo. That's demon ammo.
- 1:09:52Speaker 7: Yeah, don't tell the girl that.
- 1:09:53Speaker 6: Yeah, seriously.
- 1:09:55Speaker 5: Well, that was one of those, again, super subtlety. Because, like,
- 1:09:57Speaker 5: I'm watching it that first time, and I'm like, I'm
- 1:10:00Speaker 5: assuming they're involved? Because... they are really close. Yeah. When
- 1:10:05Speaker 5: they go back, because he's relatively close with the producer guy.
- 1:10:08Speaker 5: Everybody else, I watched it this time, and he's like,
- 1:10:10Speaker 5: he's a pretty good foot away from everybody having a conversation.
- 1:10:13Speaker 5: They're really close to each other. Oh, yeah. I'm like,
- 1:10:16Speaker 5: this is, I'm assuming a subtle, hey, guess what's going
- 1:10:20Speaker 5: on here? Yeah. Because that's what was going on. So
- 1:10:23Speaker 5: I was like, well, see, other than the weird producer,
- 1:10:25Speaker 5: which again, he's sort of in bed with in his
- 1:10:27Speaker 5: own weird way. So yeah, it's like their little dynamic
- 1:10:30Speaker 5: is kind of interesting too, that he just keeps sort
- 1:10:33Speaker 5: of egging them on and keeping everybody out of the way.
- 1:10:37Speaker 3: So, yeah.
- 1:10:37Speaker 7: I'm just like, what do your dates look like?
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: Because who's going to be the babysitter to that child
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: so you.
- 1:10:42Speaker 7: Can go out to Applebee's?
- 1:10:43Speaker 5: Are you saying you're signing up? Volunteering for that one.
- 1:10:47Speaker 7: I'm a good babysitter, but no thank you.
- 1:10:49Speaker 5: I want to watch Lily. She seems fun.
- 1:10:51Speaker 8: I feel like you'd have no problem watching a possessed
- 1:10:54Speaker 8: child that you knew was possessed.
- 1:10:56Speaker 5: Just be like, stop it. Flinging holy water. Stop flinging.
- 1:11:00Speaker 5: Get over here.
- 1:11:01Speaker 7: Turning off the TV.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: You don't stop levitating.
- 1:11:05Speaker 5: Ingrid is her name. She's pretty damn impressive, I have
- 1:11:09Speaker 5: to say.
- 1:11:09Speaker 7: Who, June or the girl?
- 1:11:11Speaker 5: No, the little girl. Ingrid Torelli?
- 1:11:14Speaker 7: Yeah, she's a creepy little.
- 1:11:15Speaker 5: She's impressively creepy. Trying to see what else she has
- 1:11:19Speaker 5: been in. Let's see. Stuff I don't know. Bloom TV series.
- 1:11:28Speaker 5: Five Bedrooms TV series. South Jersey Horror Podcast? Wait a minute.
- 1:11:34Speaker 5: We got to invite her on.
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:11:36Speaker 5: Well, there you go.
- 1:11:37Speaker 7: If she did South Jersey, she can do ours.
- 1:11:39Speaker 5: Come on, you crazy demon child. Come on the show.
- 1:11:43Speaker 5: But yeah, she is really good because it's not just the,
- 1:11:47Speaker 5: it's like it's the little sort of weird version of
- 1:11:50Speaker 5: her at the beginning before the possession, after the whole display,
- 1:11:54Speaker 5: and then just her like, like everything is different after that.
- 1:11:58Speaker 5: Like she's constantly looking at the camera. She's kind of like,
- 1:12:02Speaker 5: by the time worms are spilling out of him and
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: she's laughing. Yeah. She's just like, you guys are being
- 1:12:06Speaker 5: so silly. I was just like, because she doesn't see anything,
- 1:12:11Speaker 5: because she's not easily susceptible, because there's a demon living
- 1:12:15Speaker 5: inside of her. So they are just being silly. Yeah.
- 1:12:18Speaker 5: None of this is really happening. But if you want
- 1:12:19Speaker 5: to see something happen, hang on a minute. I got
- 1:12:22Speaker 5: you guys covered. Yeah. So yeah, I think she's pretty impressive.
- 1:12:28Speaker 5: Commanding the whole rest of that movie. You've got way
- 1:12:32Speaker 5: more notes. What do you got?
- 1:12:33Speaker 8: I hate when these movies are good because we don't.
- 1:12:35Speaker 7: Have anything to talk about.
- 1:12:37Speaker 6: Well, I will say that I wrote one of my
- 1:12:40Speaker 6: favorite quotes in this movie was from Leo, right? Leo
- 1:12:43Speaker 6: the producer. Whenever Christo was first like, I got psychic
- 1:12:50Speaker 6: attacked or whatever, and I had to sit down. And
- 1:12:53Speaker 6: they cut to commercially. Leo comes out and he's like,
- 1:12:56Speaker 6: hey man, you look like you could use a bourbon.
- 1:12:58Speaker 6: And he's like, no, just water. He's like, water?
- 1:13:01Speaker 5: In this place? I'll see what I can do.
- 1:13:04Speaker 6: Yeah, and he just never gets water, right? I don't
- 1:13:06Speaker 6: think he ever got that water.
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: He did.
- 1:13:08Speaker 5: He died.
- 1:13:09Speaker 6: Did he get it?
- 1:13:09Speaker 5: Eventually, right before he keeled over. Right.
- 1:13:12Speaker 6: But yeah, he died.
- 1:13:13Speaker 5: Well, again, there's a very Kreskin thing. Like, everybody is
- 1:13:18Speaker 5: almost like a direct contact, one step over from a
- 1:13:21Speaker 5: real world person of like, He was a late night sensation.
- 1:13:24Speaker 5: He went on and would do his goofy bits and
- 1:13:27Speaker 5: like people totally bought into him for years, even though
- 1:13:30Speaker 5: that's the kind of stuff that Randy was out to bust.
- 1:13:33Speaker 5: Oh yeah.
- 1:13:34Speaker 6: That whole thing with a cold reading or whatever that
- 1:13:37Speaker 6: Christos did.
- 1:13:37Speaker 5: What was the guy's name?
- 1:13:38Speaker 6: Crossing over with John.
- 1:13:39Speaker 7: Oh yeah.
- 1:13:40Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:13:41Speaker 8: John Edwards. I know it wasn't actually John Stamos.
- 1:13:44Speaker 5: I would watch John Stamos.
- 1:13:46Speaker 6: He's on the yogurt.
- 1:13:47Speaker 5: Yeah. That's what all the celebrities do when they get old.
- 1:13:51Speaker 5: They're like, oh, I've got to digest this shit.
- 1:13:53Speaker 7: John Edward.
- 1:13:55Speaker 6: John Edward. Is he alive?
- 1:13:57Speaker 5: Ghost killed him.
- 1:13:59Speaker 7: I hope not.
- 1:13:59Speaker 5: Yeah. Demon possession.
- 1:14:02Speaker 7: Yes, he is still alive.
- 1:14:04Speaker 8: What's that one my mom likes? The Long Island Medium.
- 1:14:07Speaker 5: Miss Cleo?
- 1:14:08Speaker 7: Yes, Long Island Medium.
- 1:14:09Speaker 5: Did she call Miss Cleo? No, she didn't. Damn it.
- 1:14:12Speaker 8: If anyone did, I kind of figured she would. She
- 1:14:16Speaker 8: wasn't going to pay the.
- 1:14:17Speaker 5: No, I figured then I can just picture your dad
- 1:14:19Speaker 5: getting the bill being, what the hell is this?
- 1:14:22Speaker 8: No, they would have just blamed it on me.
- 1:14:23Speaker 5: That's true. And everybody would have bought it.
- 1:14:26Speaker 8: I would have been like, I understand, but I didn't.
- 1:14:29Speaker 5: I agree. I would have blamed it on me too,
- 1:14:31Speaker 5: but it sucks.
- 1:14:32Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:14:34Speaker 5: It does seem like something I would have done, but
- 1:14:36Speaker 5: I didn't this time.
- 1:14:39Speaker 6: Are you looking up things about John Edward?
- 1:14:41Speaker 5: I am.
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: Because his daughter is now an actress.
- 1:14:45Speaker 7: She's like 17.
- 1:14:47Speaker 5: Anyway. Anyway. Not important.
- 1:14:50Speaker 6: That was the vibe.
- 1:14:54Speaker 5: I do, again, of the other weird little ridiculous tie-ins
- 1:14:58Speaker 5: of how relatively tight this is for a movie that's
- 1:15:00Speaker 5: not really story-based officially on a normal plane of existence.
- 1:15:05Speaker 5: The fact that they, for each of the people, were
- 1:15:08Speaker 5: kind of setting up what was going to happen. So
- 1:15:11Speaker 5: much so that early on with the Randy guy, he
- 1:15:16Speaker 5: says he's all wax no wick. he gets burnt and
- 1:15:24Speaker 5: right before it happens the the sidekick guy's like hey
- 1:15:28Speaker 5: my wife likes my head right on yeah and he
- 1:15:31Speaker 5: gets snapped his head gets spun right.
- 1:15:33Speaker 7: Around so what about june then.
- 1:15:36Speaker 5: June gets her throat slit yeah i mean she's holding
- 1:15:40Speaker 5: that necklace out the whole time so she's just kind
- 1:15:42Speaker 5: of asking for it really yeah but there's probably a
- 1:15:45Speaker 5: line there too really probably Like everybody gets sort of
- 1:15:49Speaker 5: taken out, but they're planting those seeds along the way.
- 1:15:52Speaker 5: I'd be like, Oh yeah, guess what? That is what
- 1:15:55Speaker 5: I was hoping, like going into it the first time.
- 1:15:58Speaker 5: And like, I do like the way we ease into this,
- 1:16:02Speaker 5: that it is just present. Once you get past the
- 1:16:04Speaker 5: little prologue, like we just come onto the TV show
- 1:16:08Speaker 5: and that's what we're watching. And it's, weird and awkward
- 1:16:11Speaker 5: but it's like it's still doing kind of normal things
- 1:16:14Speaker 5: till you get to projectile vomiting and even then it's
- 1:16:16Speaker 5: like people do that like you hear weird stories like
- 1:16:19Speaker 5: weird things happen in the world so it's like all
- 1:16:22Speaker 5: right that was gross but still it's just kind of
- 1:16:24Speaker 5: edging its way along there and it like slowly builds
- 1:16:28Speaker 5: even at the point of like the fact that the
- 1:16:30Speaker 5: demon possession levitation isn't the finale it's the midway point
- 1:16:35Speaker 5: where things kind of start to get real So, yeah,
- 1:16:38Speaker 5: it's like the fact that that's right in the middle,
- 1:16:40Speaker 5: like it's still building from there. And I was like,
- 1:16:43Speaker 5: I hope because I was really like I was enjoying
- 1:16:47Speaker 5: it so much that I was like, don't just get
- 1:16:49Speaker 5: to the end and cut the static and piss me
- 1:16:52Speaker 5: off because nothing happens. If we're going this slow edging
- 1:16:55Speaker 5: our way into something big happening, I want a bloodbath.
- 1:16:58Speaker 5: I don't want everybody on stage murdered and damned if
- 1:17:01Speaker 5: they didn't come through for me. So I was like, yes.
- 1:17:04Speaker 5: So I am very glad that they didn't like just
- 1:17:08Speaker 5: sort of half-ass it and like, cause there's so many
- 1:17:11Speaker 5: of those that are like, especially like more of your
- 1:17:13Speaker 5: up and coming filmmakers because then it's also like, ooh,
- 1:17:17Speaker 5: it was my creative way to end it. You're like,
- 1:17:19Speaker 5: Or it's the cheap way to end it and it
- 1:17:22Speaker 5: makes it suggestive. But really, you just didn't have to
- 1:17:24Speaker 5: shoot anything. So I'm like, this one, they shot crazy
- 1:17:27Speaker 5: over-the-top deaths and possession and the head splitting open and
- 1:17:31Speaker 5: I kind of loved all of it. It's so much fun.
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: And then you get the weird psychological.
- 1:17:38Speaker 5: We hit our 2001, 2010 gonna talk to a space child.
- 1:17:45Speaker 5: Because the bed thing kind of reminded me of the
- 1:17:47Speaker 5: crazy old footage you know like when it cuts away
- 1:17:52Speaker 5: those are my favorite and i mean that i don't
- 1:17:55Speaker 5: mean that at all uh my least favorite part of
- 1:17:57Speaker 5: every space movie at some point has to become psychological
- 1:18:00Speaker 5: and go off on some weird tangent in somebody's brain
- 1:18:03Speaker 5: and so we get that in 2001 and they come
- 1:18:06Speaker 5: back to it in 2010 and it's like it felt
- 1:18:09Speaker 5: like that almost but at least this one was grounded
- 1:18:11Speaker 5: like it's this was the real thing like we just
- 1:18:14Speaker 5: saw it's not out of left field it's like It
- 1:18:16Speaker 5: actually is tied to the plot, so I don't mind it.
- 1:18:19Speaker 5: In fact, I kind of liked it. Again, I was
- 1:18:21Speaker 5: afraid it was still going to end right there, and
- 1:18:23Speaker 5: I'm like, but I kind of want to see what
- 1:18:24Speaker 5: else is going on here. Especially when it comes back around,
- 1:18:27Speaker 5: and not only is he having the dream sequence where
- 1:18:31Speaker 5: he's stabbing his wife, but he actually stabbed a girl
- 1:18:34Speaker 5: as they're filming it for television.
- 1:18:37Speaker 6: So am I correct in understanding that when Jack went
- 1:18:41Speaker 6: to Bohemian Grove, he wanted to be the biggest TV star?
- 1:18:45Speaker 6: And that's the, okay.
- 1:18:46Speaker 8: I think so, yeah.
- 1:18:47Speaker 5: Again, they really don't spell any of that, which I
- 1:18:50Speaker 5: sort of like, too. Like, they give you all the pieces,
- 1:18:52Speaker 5: but they're like, we're not gonna give you everything. They're
- 1:18:55Speaker 5: just like, here's all the things. Here's probably what happened. So,
- 1:19:00Speaker 5: guess who's dead now? Like, he's gonna be the biggest
- 1:19:03Speaker 5: star in the world after this. Everybody's gonna be talking
- 1:19:06Speaker 5: about him. That is very true.
- 1:19:07Speaker 8: They did call that out.
- 1:19:09Speaker 6: Mm-hmm.
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: I wonder if it's supposed to be like the vengeful
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: ghost of his wife or if it's like the demon
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: taking the form of his wife just to torture him
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: even more.
- 1:19:21Speaker 5: I felt like it was more of that. Like they
- 1:19:23Speaker 5: really did seem like they were playing up the, we're
- 1:19:26Speaker 5: going to use this image that is just the most
- 1:19:29Speaker 5: horrifying thing you've seen in your life. And we're just
- 1:19:31Speaker 5: going to, that's going to be our representation. We're going
- 1:19:34Speaker 5: to keep coming back with this.
- 1:19:35Speaker 8: I do think the wife really was trying to protect him.
- 1:19:38Speaker 5: And like they genuinely seem like they loved it what
- 1:19:41Speaker 5: little it's all of them together like i don't feel
- 1:19:44Speaker 5: like that was fake but he was still willing to
- 1:19:46Speaker 5: put her like i don't know how much it was
- 1:19:49Speaker 5: on paper this is what's gonna happen yeah you have
- 1:19:51Speaker 5: to know when you're entering into that group and willing
- 1:19:54Speaker 5: to do whatever to be successful you're putting her at
- 1:19:58Speaker 5: risk and he did that yeah so yeah she would
- 1:20:01Speaker 5: have a little reason to be pissed but i do
- 1:20:03Speaker 5: feel like they do they did at least have a
- 1:20:05Speaker 5: genuine relationship.
- 1:20:06Speaker 8: She seemed pretty understanding about it, actually.
- 1:20:08Speaker 5: Even towards the end there, she's just like, well, I'm
- 1:20:10Speaker 5: dying now.
- 1:20:11Speaker 8: What are you doing, man?
- 1:20:12Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:20:13Speaker 5: I hope you get good ratings on this because I'll
- 1:20:14Speaker 5: be dead in a week. Let's make this work. Come
- 1:20:17Speaker 5: on now.
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: Congratulations on your TV show.
- 1:20:20Speaker 5: Good going.
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: I'd be so mad at you if you sold your
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: soul to my life.
- 1:20:28Speaker 5: Sold our soul to.
- 1:20:30Speaker 7: Be a really good lawyer.
- 1:20:32Speaker 5: Well, based on this, they don't really care. Who can
- 1:20:35Speaker 5: I take?
- 1:20:36Speaker 6: You would sign it with me though, right?
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: What?
- 1:20:38Speaker 3: What?
- 1:20:38Speaker 6: Like a joint agreement?
- 1:20:40Speaker 5: Is there a joint application?
- 1:20:42Speaker 7: To sacrifice myself so you could.
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: Be a lawyer?
- 1:20:44Speaker 5: No, no.
- 1:20:45Speaker 6: We could be.
- 1:20:45Speaker 7: No, no.
- 1:20:46Speaker 8: That'd be so lame.
- 1:20:47Speaker 5: But a fancy TV lawyer.
- 1:20:49Speaker 7: A lawyer actor.
- 1:20:50Speaker 5: We could have those cool commercials.
- 1:20:54Speaker 6: I would sacrifice you to become Judge Judy.
- 1:20:58Speaker 8: You know, I would too. I'm not even married to her.
- 1:21:01Speaker 5: There you go, honey.
- 1:21:02Speaker 8: They're like, we're going to take your friend Nora. I'm like, well,
- 1:21:04Speaker 8: but I get it to be on TV, right?
- 1:21:06Speaker 5: I mean, you don't really even have to be involved
- 1:21:08Speaker 5: in the law. They let Steve Harvey have a judge show,
- 1:21:11Speaker 5: and he doesn't have anything to do with anything. Oh, what?
- 1:21:13Speaker 8: They let Gary Busey have that damn judge show.
- 1:21:17Speaker 5: Yeah, he does animal arbitration.
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: What?
- 1:21:20Speaker 5: Really, you don't have to do any training.
- 1:21:22Speaker 8: Gary, you see, Pet Judge is, I believe, what it's called.
- 1:21:25Speaker 7: Oh, my God.
- 1:21:25Speaker 5: Basically, just sell your soul to the devil. He'll give
- 1:21:27Speaker 5: you whatever you want.
- 1:21:28Speaker 7: Well, Gary, he absolutely has sold his soul to the devil.
- 1:21:31Speaker 5: If so, he went about it all wrong. He didn't
- 1:21:33Speaker 5: sell it for that much, though. went about it the
- 1:21:36Speaker 5: wrong way.
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: But it's one of those like oh what's the like
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: monkey's paw things right like everything that you ask for
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: they give you the worst version of.
- 1:21:45Speaker 5: That's now what was i just watching because i was
- 1:21:47Speaker 5: just sitting i used that as my example oh is
- 1:21:50Speaker 5: this monkey pollen like we just got monkey paw like
- 1:21:54Speaker 5: so yeah i assumed whatever the hell i was just
- 1:21:56Speaker 5: watching was gonna do that yeah yeah i assume that
- 1:21:59Speaker 5: with most things now like oh it was the one
- 1:22:02Speaker 5: that was on it was actually on singly But it
- 1:22:05Speaker 5: was one I hadn't seen. It was some sort of
- 1:22:06Speaker 5: weird 70s made-for-TV movie that was like Trilogy of Terror,
- 1:22:10Speaker 5: but came afterwards. And there's one where she uses some
- 1:22:14Speaker 5: sort of witchcraft thing to bring her child back, and
- 1:22:17Speaker 5: he don't come back right. But yeah, watching that, I
- 1:22:21Speaker 5: was like, I think we just got monkey-pawed on this one.
- 1:22:24Speaker 8: I think great title for a movie, He Don't Come
- 1:22:26Speaker 8: Back Right.
- 1:22:27Speaker 5: He Don't Come Back Right. It only plays well in
- 1:22:29Speaker 5: the South.
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: Sure.
- 1:22:31Speaker 8: That's what we're going for.
- 1:22:31Speaker 5: We're going for the old school days where you just
- 1:22:33Speaker 5: picked a market. We're just drive-ins and grindhouse right in
- 1:22:36Speaker 5: this general vicinity of the country and make all our money.
- 1:22:40Speaker 8: The North, the East, the West, they can have their
- 1:22:42Speaker 8: whatever they.
- 1:22:45Speaker 6: Want.
- 1:22:46Speaker 5: Fancy Johnny Carsons and whatnot.
- 1:22:49Speaker 6: They can have their high real estate prices.
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: And their good health outcomes.
- 1:22:54Speaker 8: And their full sets of teeth.
- 1:22:57Speaker 5: Yeah. Wait, how's that work? Hold on.
- 1:23:00Speaker 6: We have Grindhouse.
- 1:23:02Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:23:03Speaker 7: We have Gary Busey Pet Judge.
- 1:23:07Speaker 5: This is all coming together, actually. Now that I think
- 1:23:09Speaker 5: about it. We might be in some sort of demon
- 1:23:12Speaker 5: realm right now, actually.
- 1:23:13Speaker 8: I'm pretty sure we have been.
- 1:23:14Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm pretty sure.
- 1:23:15Speaker 8: Ever since we turned on the Hadron Collider. Well, that
- 1:23:19Speaker 8: could explain a lot. Well, somebody, I saw a meme
- 1:23:21Speaker 8: about that the other day, and I was like, I
- 1:23:23Speaker 8: can't even argue with this. Because it's like, all of
- 1:23:26Speaker 8: their things made the list of, like, This happened, this happened,
- 1:23:29Speaker 8: this happened, and it all happened after they turned this on.
- 1:23:33Speaker 5: That's what I think a lot of what goes on now.
- 1:23:35Speaker 5: It's like when I think, again, dork watching movies and whatnot,
- 1:23:39Speaker 5: so many years and years of future-looking things that were
- 1:23:44Speaker 5: almost satirically making fun of how things are going to be.
- 1:23:49Speaker 5: We are so far beyond the bullshit that they came
- 1:23:51Speaker 5: up with. I was like, you guys had no idea
- 1:23:54Speaker 5: what you were talking about. You can't make fun of
- 1:23:57Speaker 5: things that are as ridiculous as the real world that
- 1:23:59Speaker 5: we live in. So, demon dimension. I think that's where
- 1:24:03Speaker 5: we are. Yeah.
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:24:07Speaker 6: Poor Gus, man.
- 1:24:09Speaker 8: Yeah, Gus didn't do anything. He just, he tried to,
- 1:24:12Speaker 8: he got pooped on the whole movie.
- 1:24:13Speaker 5: It's the sidekick's life, man. You're Ed McMahon's, you're, what
- 1:24:17Speaker 5: was Conan?
- 1:24:18Speaker 6: Andy Rink.
- 1:24:19Speaker 5: Andy. I love Andy. I still see him on stuff now,
- 1:24:21Speaker 5: but I think that was your whole gig forever. Like,
- 1:24:24Speaker 5: he just showed up and was like, yeah yeah he
- 1:24:26Speaker 5: just because that's why i thought it was interesting with
- 1:24:29Speaker 5: paul shaffer at least he had a job like he
- 1:24:31Speaker 5: was still the sidekick but he had work to do
- 1:24:33Speaker 5: the whole night like whereas like your ed and andy
- 1:24:36Speaker 5: like they were just they just sat there on the
- 1:24:38Speaker 5: couch like it seemed like the worst job it's like
- 1:24:41Speaker 5: every once in a while especially andy because he's funny
- 1:24:43Speaker 5: he'd get a good line in there but ed just
- 1:24:46Speaker 5: he was just dead weight man like no offense he
- 1:24:48Speaker 5: seemed like a nice enough guy but like didn't bring
- 1:24:52Speaker 5: anything to the show he just like laughed at old
- 1:24:54Speaker 5: Johnny's jokes and I was like this is really your
- 1:24:56Speaker 5: whole life like it's sad but at least Andy had
- 1:25:00Speaker 5: some good one-liners every once in a while but he
- 1:25:01Speaker 5: still had nothing to do he just had to sit
- 1:25:03Speaker 5: on a couch all day and like yeah sidekick it's
- 1:25:07Speaker 5: a weird.
- 1:25:07Speaker 7: Job Gus played the theremin.
- 1:25:11Speaker 5: I do love anything with a theremin.
- 1:25:12Speaker 6: I was going to say, I think I have a
- 1:25:14Speaker 6: theremin here somewhere.
- 1:25:15Speaker 5: How do you not be sure? Can we play with
- 1:25:18Speaker 5: it right now?
- 1:25:19Speaker 6: I think it's down in the basement. It's probably in
- 1:25:22Speaker 6: the basement.
- 1:25:22Speaker 8: Unless it was a wedding gift that you just never
- 1:25:24Speaker 8: took out of the box.
- 1:25:26Speaker 5: Which, first of all, what's the box look like on
- 1:25:27Speaker 5: the theremin? Because I kind of want to see that, too.
- 1:25:29Speaker 10: I just, I don't know.
- 1:25:31Speaker 5: I assume it's just, I'm holding my hands up for
- 1:25:34Speaker 5: you guys.
- 1:25:35Speaker 6: It's very annoying.
- 1:25:37Speaker 5: You're obviously not playing it right alright.
- 1:25:39Speaker 6: Alright one moment if I can't see it if I
- 1:25:41Speaker 6: can't see it immediately then.
- 1:25:44Speaker 5: We'll have to wait while he's going to go get
- 1:25:47Speaker 5: murdered in the basement if you're also while we're discussing
- 1:25:53Speaker 5: awesome documentaries while we're discussing awesome documentaries the theremin documentary
- 1:26:01Speaker 5: is badass by.
- 1:26:02Speaker 7: The way there's a documentary about theremin oh yeah He.
- 1:26:05Speaker 5: Was ridiculously smart and ahead of his time, but like
- 1:26:09Speaker 5: most people that are crazy, super smart inventors, out of
- 1:26:13Speaker 5: his mind on some level.
- 1:26:15Speaker 8: Insane genius.
- 1:26:16Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah. Mad scientist. He is the running gag that
- 1:26:20Speaker 5: is all of these guys, except Edison, because he just
- 1:26:23Speaker 5: stole everything. Jerk.
- 1:26:25Speaker 3: Asshole.
- 1:26:25Speaker 5: I'm a Tesla man. I'm sorry. That's a crazy genius.
- 1:26:29Speaker 8: He came up with all kinds of stuff. I ran
- 1:26:31Speaker 8: pelts myself.
- 1:26:33Speaker 5: What else did he come up with?
- 1:26:34Speaker 8: Billy's dad from Gremlins.
- 1:26:39Speaker 5: I mean, if you like toothpaste squirted on you, he's
- 1:26:44Speaker 5: got a thing for you. He's a gadget man. But
- 1:26:49Speaker 5: he's got personality. He's a very.
- 1:26:53Speaker 8: Are we talking about Tesla or Hoyt Exton at this point?
- 1:26:56Speaker 6: No, Hoyt.
- 1:26:57Speaker 5: Tesla, I feel like that was the problem. That was
- 1:27:00Speaker 5: the difference. Like, he was a super genius and would
- 1:27:03Speaker 5: come up with ideas, didn't know how to interact with people,
- 1:27:06Speaker 5: didn't know how to put in paperwork. Edison, on the
- 1:27:09Speaker 5: other hand, knew how to employ a bunch of other
- 1:27:11Speaker 5: people to do his shit, knew how to fill out
- 1:27:13Speaker 5: the paperwork and stole all his ideas.
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: Oh.
- 1:27:16Speaker 6: Ladies and gentlemen, I have no idea where the theremin is.
- 1:27:19Speaker 5: Damn it!
- 1:27:20Speaker 7: It's probably in the office or something.
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: How did we lose the theremin?
- 1:27:25Speaker 5: There's the quote of the episode.
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: How did you lose them?
- 1:27:29Speaker 8: You guys are making me have so many questions about theremins.
- 1:27:33Speaker 5: I'll find it.
- 1:27:34Speaker 8: And it's not practical questions like how do they work,
- 1:27:37Speaker 8: but it's things like how do you forget you have one?
- 1:27:40Speaker 5: How do you lose it?
- 1:27:42Speaker 6: Years ago, a friend of mine in Japan gave it
- 1:27:45Speaker 6: to me. Because, like, he thought I was kind of
- 1:27:47Speaker 6: weird hippie guy.
- 1:27:48Speaker 5: I mean, you're weird.
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: We are.
- 1:27:50Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:27:51Speaker 6: And, like, well, now he gave me this theremin. And it's, like,
- 1:27:54Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 1:27:55Speaker 5: It's really small. It doesn't take much because it's not
- 1:27:57Speaker 5: physically a thing so much.
- 1:27:59Speaker 6: Yeah, it's fun. It comes with, like, a little stick
- 1:28:01Speaker 6: you can turn a dial. It's very old school looking.
- 1:28:04Speaker 5: It does have some, like, arms sticking off of it.
- 1:28:06Speaker 5: So maybe you're hanging coats on it in the other
- 1:28:08Speaker 5: room and you just don't even know it. It's like, oh, yeah,
- 1:28:10Speaker 5: there it is. This is miniature.
- 1:28:12Speaker 6: Okay, you remember, like, old, like, RC cars back in
- 1:28:15Speaker 6: the day where the antenna is just like you could
- 1:28:17Speaker 6: kind of just bend it in half and it's done forever.
- 1:28:20Speaker 6: It's like that.
- 1:28:22Speaker 5: It sounds awesome. You're just selling me more. I'll find it.
- 1:28:27Speaker 6: I'll find it and I'll send it with Nora.
- 1:28:29Speaker 8: I feel like Nora's less worried about it than Brian.
- 1:28:35Speaker 5: Well, we're definitely making her play it then.
- 1:28:37Speaker 6: Yes, I'll teach you.
- 1:28:40Speaker 7: We also have the music note thing.
- 1:28:42Speaker 6: I need to put new batteries in the music note thing.
- 1:28:44Speaker 8: What's the music note thing?
- 1:28:45Speaker 6: It's like a theremin.
- 1:28:47Speaker 5: What a ripoff. This is the Edison invention. What can
- 1:28:52Speaker 5: I scam someone and steal their stuff?
- 1:28:54Speaker 6: I did find that one down there, but I tried
- 1:28:55Speaker 6: to play it.
- 1:28:56Speaker 7: You can open its mouth and it's like.
- 1:28:59Speaker 8: And then it has a little, like.
- 1:29:00Speaker 7: I'll go grab it.
- 1:29:02Speaker 5: I'll go grab it.
- 1:29:03Speaker 6: This is really easy.
- 1:29:04Speaker 8: Well, not if the batteries are dead. You're just gonna.
- 1:29:06Speaker 5: He's just teasing us now.
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: The Nora and Pierce tour of weird musical instruments in
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: our house.
- 1:29:13Speaker 7: We have a few.
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: His mom, for his birthday, I think, got him, like,
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: a steel drum. Oh, yeah.
- 1:29:23Speaker 7: But it's huge and really inconvenient. I can see that being.
- 1:29:26Speaker 5: More along his lines than the theremin, really. I have
- 1:29:31Speaker 5: seen one of those, actually.
- 1:29:33Speaker 8: I want this to go away.
- 1:29:34Speaker 5: I have seen one of those.
- 1:29:37Speaker 8: It's the disturbing pastel color palette.
- 1:29:41Speaker 6: There's a great YouTube video of somebody playing Bring Me
- 1:29:45Speaker 6: to Life by Evanescence.
- 1:29:49Speaker 5: It's the Muppety face that should win you over, really.
- 1:29:52Speaker 5: I love it. It's very Muppety.
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: It's so cute.
- 1:29:55Speaker 8: Well, I think it's the way that Pierce has to
- 1:29:57Speaker 8: squeeze its head.
- 1:29:57Speaker 5: Yeah, that's what he does to Nelson, too. This is
- 1:30:02Speaker 5: also true.
- 1:30:02Speaker 6: Where are you?
- 1:30:04Speaker 7: Hey, buddy.
- 1:30:05Speaker 6: Yeah, he's fine.
- 1:30:08Speaker 7: Nelson, did you like the movie?
- 1:30:10Speaker 5: He's like, I'm possessed by a demon.
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: Screw you guys.
- 1:30:12Speaker 8: I like the popcorn you guys kept drinking.
- 1:30:15Speaker 6: But yes, poor Gus.
- 1:30:17Speaker 7: Poor Gus.
- 1:30:18Speaker 6: Sorry, guy. There you go. All he was doing was
- 1:30:21Speaker 6: trying to be nice.
- 1:30:22Speaker 5: Shut up and do your job. I think that's what
- 1:30:24Speaker 5: they told him. And you see what happened.
- 1:30:27Speaker 8: Do as you're told is the exact quote.
- 1:30:30Speaker 5: I mean, that producer guy seems pretty accurate, actually. Like,
- 1:30:34Speaker 5: he got shit done. He was not likable. He was
- 1:30:37Speaker 5: not good to be around. But everything kept happening because
- 1:30:40Speaker 5: he said, shut up and do that, shut up and
- 1:30:42Speaker 5: do that. It didn't. confirmed dead? Or was he alive?
- 1:30:47Speaker 5: I mean, we didn't really see him get killed, so
- 1:30:49Speaker 5: he might have run out of the building.
- 1:30:50Speaker 6: So he's the actual hero of the story.
- 1:30:53Speaker 5: Well, since he made everything happen, maybe not. He's the
- 1:30:57Speaker 5: instigator of this story. Shut up and go do that
- 1:31:00Speaker 5: thing so we can get more ratings. Have we hit
- 1:31:03Speaker 5: all our points on this?
- 1:31:04Speaker 8: I don't know, probably. Again, most of the movies we've
- 1:31:12Speaker 8: been watching lately, I have hated and hated you guys
- 1:31:15Speaker 8: for making me watch them.
- 1:31:16Speaker 5: That's really what we're here for.
- 1:31:18Speaker 8: Because I remember that last movie, I just went off.
- 1:31:21Speaker 5: And yet you still enjoyed it. Yeah, you liked that
- 1:31:24Speaker 5: one more than the last couple.
- 1:31:25Speaker 8: Well, I was having a thing.
- 1:31:27Speaker 5: Well, that's just life at this point. I live in
- 1:31:30Speaker 5: that thing now.
- 1:31:31Speaker 7: Having a thing.
- 1:31:32Speaker 5: I don't like it.
- 1:31:33Speaker 8: No, I actually enjoyed this movie, and I don't feel
- 1:31:35Speaker 8: like I need to talk to you guys about it.
- 1:31:37Speaker 8: You were there. You saw it.
- 1:31:38Speaker 2: Nope.
- 1:31:39Speaker 5: I don't know what you're talking about. We didn't watch
- 1:31:41Speaker 5: a movie. We just stared blankly at the screen for
- 1:31:44Speaker 5: an hour and a half.
- 1:31:44Speaker 6: What are you talking about? I do have one thing
- 1:31:46Speaker 6: I would like to say. I don't know, and this
- 1:31:49Speaker 6: show has taught me, that I don't really know the
- 1:31:51Speaker 6: practical how hypnotism works. Because the little swirly thing on
- 1:31:57Speaker 6: the screen seemed like something out of Scooby-Doo.
- 1:31:59Speaker 2: Right?
- 1:32:00Speaker 6: That is the classic. Which makes it awesome. Right. So
- 1:32:04Speaker 6: do y'all know how hypnotism works? And was it accurate?
- 1:32:09Speaker 8: I don't know enough to say. It must have worked
- 1:32:12Speaker 8: because I saw the worms come out of the guy.
- 1:32:15Speaker 5: See, I was thinking that when I watched it that
- 1:32:17Speaker 5: first time. I was like, well, we all got hypnotized
- 1:32:19Speaker 5: because I'm guessing you guys saw the worms too, so...
- 1:32:21Speaker 5: It's true. It worked on us.
- 1:32:25Speaker 7: I mean, I... Do you.
- 1:32:27Speaker 8: Okay.
- 1:32:29Speaker 7: I do.
- 1:32:29Speaker 8: I mean, I saw hypnotism.
- 1:32:32Speaker 5: It is a thing that people totally... do and other
- 1:32:36Speaker 5: people buy into so it is a working system one
- 1:32:40Speaker 5: way or the other whether it's real or not i
- 1:32:42Speaker 5: don't fully know i do know someone that they were
- 1:32:47Speaker 5: they may be listening if you're listening i need to
- 1:32:49Speaker 5: get the story from you because they were involved with
- 1:32:51Speaker 5: someone who did hypnotism and i want to know if
- 1:32:54Speaker 5: it's real i want to know their side of being
- 1:32:57Speaker 5: With someone who was a hypnotist.
- 1:32:59Speaker 7: We have.
- 1:33:00Speaker 5: How much of the real story can you tell me
- 1:33:02Speaker 5: of what was going on in this? Because they did
- 1:33:04Speaker 5: it like for a job.
- 1:33:06Speaker 8: What I will say is I went to see a
- 1:33:08Speaker 8: hypnotist one time and he told us, he said, look,
- 1:33:12Speaker 8: some of the more susceptible people in the audience that
- 1:33:15Speaker 8: don't get called up, you may look over and they
- 1:33:18Speaker 8: may be doing some of the stuff that people on
- 1:33:20Speaker 8: stage are doing. And I'm like, okay, whatever. Well, at
- 1:33:22Speaker 8: one point he's got all these people on stage. And
- 1:33:24Speaker 8: they're supposed to be conducting an orchestra. And my date
- 1:33:28Speaker 8: like elbows me in the ribs and points to her
- 1:33:31Speaker 8: friend that we were there with. And she was sitting
- 1:33:33Speaker 8: in her seat with her head like to her side
- 1:33:35Speaker 8: but conducting the orchestra. So there must be something to it.
- 1:33:41Speaker 5: So you came with her. She wasn't a plant. You
- 1:33:44Speaker 5: actually knew this person.
- 1:33:45Speaker 8: I actually knew the person. She wanted to be hypnotized
- 1:33:49Speaker 8: because she had been told about the show. And the
- 1:33:52Speaker 8: finale was all the people that were on stage, they
- 1:33:57Speaker 8: were instructed to have, quote unquote, the best orgasm of
- 1:34:00Speaker 8: their entire lives.
- 1:34:01Speaker 5: Isn't that how every show ends, actually?
- 1:34:03Speaker 8: She knew about that part of it, and that's why
- 1:34:05Speaker 8: she wanted to get on stage so badly.
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:34:08Speaker 5: I have so many questions.
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:34:10Speaker 5: Sounds like she just needs to get away.
- 1:34:12Speaker 7: She did.
- 1:34:13Speaker 5: She did.
- 1:34:14Speaker 8: And she would also have been the first person to.
- 1:34:16Speaker 5: All right. Well, I mean, I'm right there with you,
- 1:34:19Speaker 5: but I just don't have access to a hypnosis show,
- 1:34:22Speaker 5: I suppose.
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: Did he use like the swirly spiral thing or what?
- 1:34:27Speaker 8: He made a big, he made a big, point about
- 1:34:30Speaker 8: how that's just you know that's a traditional thing but
- 1:34:33Speaker 8: it's just all for like show i think it looks
- 1:34:35Speaker 8: really cool yeah it looks amazing it gives it gives
- 1:34:38Speaker 8: the audience something to see that the other people are focusing.
- 1:34:41Speaker 5: That is kind of what was going on with the
- 1:34:43Speaker 5: sarah squirm show she was doing a weird spinny thing
- 1:34:46Speaker 5: on the screen behind us so we might have been
- 1:34:49Speaker 5: hypnotized i'm sure we were i did feel like i
- 1:34:52Speaker 5: saw gross things it wasn't worms exactly but equally if
- 1:34:57Speaker 5: not more disturbing so i feel like.
- 1:34:59Speaker 8: I was violated in so many ways yeah.
- 1:35:02Speaker 5: This is what happens when you're not in control of
- 1:35:03Speaker 5: your brain anymore well i mean i never really was
- 1:35:07Speaker 5: you got a point anyway but it is one of
- 1:35:13Speaker 5: those things there are so many people that do it
- 1:35:16Speaker 5: in one way or another whether it's those people that
- 1:35:18Speaker 5: are trying to treat it seriously and are like trying
- 1:35:22Speaker 5: to get you to stop smoking, versus the people on
- 1:35:24Speaker 5: stage making you have a fake orgasm. So it's like,
- 1:35:28Speaker 5: where did we land? This is a big range here.
- 1:35:31Speaker 5: How much of this are we buying into?
- 1:35:33Speaker 8: Well, this guy did both. That's weird. That was his
- 1:35:38Speaker 8: day job, was to get people to stop smoking, lose weight, etc., etc.,
- 1:35:44Speaker 8: But where he brought in the real money was he'd
- 1:35:46Speaker 8: do these shows like two or three times a month.
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: I feel like there should be some kind of code
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: of ethics of like a hypnotist.
- 1:35:54Speaker 8: You would think so.
- 1:35:55Speaker 7: If you could like control people's brains.
- 1:35:57Speaker 5: Is there at least a show out there busting them?
- 1:36:00Speaker 5: Is there an Amazing Randy that's out there busting just
- 1:36:03Speaker 5: the hypnotists that are out there doing their dumb shows?
- 1:36:05Speaker 5: Because I want to watch that.
- 1:36:07Speaker 7: Yeah, where's that YouTube thing?
- 1:36:08Speaker 5: I'm sure there's 28 of them out there right now.
- 1:36:13Speaker 5: And I'll watch and go like, I don't want to
- 1:36:14Speaker 5: see this.
- 1:36:15Speaker 7: This is terrible.
- 1:36:15Speaker 5: Look at the production value on this. This is terrible.
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, from a brain science point of view,
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: there's EMDR, which is a type of therapy, which is
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: like eye movement desensitization and rapid something. Because I wrote
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: a grant to get the equipment.
- 1:36:34Speaker 7: To bring into our place.
- 1:36:35Speaker 5: When do we get our grant money, by the way?
- 1:36:37Speaker 5: I keep asking for it.
- 1:36:38Speaker 7: You have to be a 501c3.
- 1:36:39Speaker 5: I am, as far as they know.
- 1:36:42Speaker 7: No, I have to have the paper.
- 1:36:44Speaker 5: I've got somebody on the inside. What does the paper
- 1:36:47Speaker 5: look like?
- 1:36:47Speaker 8: I'll make one.
- 1:36:48Speaker 5: We can print anything.
- 1:36:50Speaker 7: It's a letter from the IRS.
- 1:36:52Speaker 8: So I just need letter IRS.
- 1:36:54Speaker 2: IRS.
- 1:36:55Speaker 8: Great.
- 1:36:55Speaker 5: Remember that. Put that at the top. Stamp that on there.
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: But EMDR. So what it is, it's a really interesting thing.
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: It's like this little light bar that blinks and the light.
- 1:37:08Speaker 5: Kind of moves back and forth. I think I bought
- 1:37:10Speaker 5: one of those because I like the flashy lights. And
- 1:37:13Speaker 5: I was going to use it in a fake machinery thing,
- 1:37:16Speaker 5: which is what I like to build. There you go.
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: And you get the person to just watch it. you know,
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: focus on it. And it's supposed to be really good
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: for processing traumatic events because they'll do that and then
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: talk about what happened. And for some reason, it, like,
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: makes your brain, like, get over it faster.
- 1:37:34Speaker 8: I'm not talking.
- 1:37:37Speaker 7: To my therapist about this. It's real.
- 1:37:39Speaker 1: There's a lot of actual scientific.
- 1:37:41Speaker 5: Evidence about it. There's a lot of ways that all
- 1:37:45Speaker 5: of these things in your brain could work if you're
- 1:37:48Speaker 5: doing them the right way. Most people are just doing
- 1:37:50Speaker 5: them for profit. Again, where are the ethics? How do
- 1:37:54Speaker 5: you have somebody that's controlling this? Where's the hypnotism police?
- 1:37:59Speaker 5: They're like, keeping track of these things.
- 1:38:01Speaker 8: Isn't that that Cheap Trick album?
- 1:38:03Speaker 5: I think so.
- 1:38:05Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 1:38:06Speaker 5: There's a reason they're not together anymore.
- 1:38:08Speaker 8: They're still together.
- 1:38:10Speaker 5: After that album, they didn't want to be around each
- 1:38:13Speaker 5: other anymore.
- 1:38:13Speaker 8: They're still quite together.
- 1:38:15Speaker 5: I thought at least the one guy didn't want anything
- 1:38:17Speaker 5: to do with it.
- 1:38:17Speaker 8: They fired their drummer, but not really at the same time.
- 1:38:21Speaker 5: I don't know. I don't trust any of this. no
- 1:38:26Speaker 5: you're thinking of dream warriors dream warriors was their album
- 1:38:30Speaker 5: with freddy on the lead vocals and yeah actually i
- 1:38:33Speaker 5: have that freddy album by the way it's not.
- 1:38:35Speaker 6: Very does that band with the guitar with like 800
- 1:38:37Speaker 6: necks on it.
- 1:38:39Speaker 8: He just well he had one of those too which
- 1:38:41Speaker 8: one are we talking about freddy or cheap trick yes
- 1:38:46Speaker 8: He has a guitar in the shape of himself.
- 1:38:48Speaker 5: Yeah, there's the one that's legs. And then I think
- 1:38:50Speaker 5: he does have one that's like five or six necks.
- 1:38:52Speaker 8: He's got one that's like four on each side.
- 1:38:54Speaker 5: What?
- 1:38:57Speaker 8: He's got one that's like, it is literally like six
- 1:39:00Speaker 8: necks because he starts up here. And then by the
- 1:39:02Speaker 8: end of the song, he's down at the.
- 1:39:04Speaker 5: Novelty is fun and all, but that seems like more
- 1:39:06Speaker 5: trouble than it's worth.
- 1:39:07Speaker 2: What?
- 1:39:13Speaker 10: So.
- 1:39:14Speaker 5: What have we learned from this?
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: Don't bring your adopted demon child on to TV.
- 1:39:23Speaker 8: How about you just don't adopt a demon child?
- 1:39:25Speaker 7: That too.
- 1:39:26Speaker 5: Stay away from children. There's your first step. That takes
- 1:39:29Speaker 5: care of things. But if you're going to, just try
- 1:39:31Speaker 5: to keep them away from demons.
- 1:39:32Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:39:33Speaker 5: Tell them to stop talking to the pipes or the
- 1:39:35Speaker 5: duct work. Just tell them to quit having conversations with
- 1:39:40Speaker 5: dead people, ghosts, random demons, or the devil himself. Yeah,
- 1:39:44Speaker 5: all of these are bad ideas.
- 1:39:46Speaker 6: We shouldn't date a television host, right?
- 1:39:49Speaker 5: Well, from what we've seen, it usually doesn't go well.
- 1:39:54Speaker 5: If you're fine with being the other woman, even though
- 1:39:58Speaker 5: you're the married one, that's usually how it goes. I'm
- 1:40:02Speaker 5: not sure if it goes the other way. We'll have
- 1:40:04Speaker 5: to check with Taylor and see. She's about the only
- 1:40:07Speaker 5: one on late night anymore, so we'll see if she
- 1:40:09Speaker 5: starts having like six dudes on the side, but Maybe
- 1:40:12Speaker 5: it just happens when you become a lady.
- 1:40:14Speaker 8: I think so.
- 1:40:14Speaker 5: Gotta start cheating on people, that's how it goes.
- 1:40:17Speaker 7: And don't sell your wife's soul to the devil.
- 1:40:21Speaker 8: Was that a collateral sale, though? You're really hung up
- 1:40:25Speaker 8: on that.
- 1:40:26Speaker 5: I feel like Pierce is in trouble now, and I
- 1:40:29Speaker 5: don't think he did anything, but he's gonna be paying
- 1:40:31Speaker 5: for it for the rest of the day? I feel
- 1:40:35Speaker 5: like it's different.
- 1:40:36Speaker 6: If I sell my soul to the devil and you
- 1:40:38Speaker 6: are collateral sale versus I sell your soul to the devil.
- 1:40:41Speaker 5: What if he really goes over the paperwork well? Like
- 1:40:44Speaker 5: fine-tooth comb.
- 1:40:45Speaker 8: I would think he would. Do you read your iTunes agreement?
- 1:40:48Speaker 6: No.
- 1:40:48Speaker 5: I didn't think so.
- 1:40:49Speaker 8: No.
- 1:40:51Speaker 5: That's the real devil right there. The devil is the iTunes.
- 1:40:56Speaker 5: Apple is run by Satan, right? That's why he's dead.
- 1:40:58Speaker 5: He sold his soul to Satan. Holy shit. We pieced
- 1:41:00Speaker 5: this together.
- 1:41:01Speaker 8: It's either run by or is Satan. I can't figure out.
- 1:41:04Speaker 5: Both. After seven years, he handed it over to Satan.
- 1:41:07Speaker 6: Well, maybe I can negotiate with him, Satan.
- 1:41:09Speaker 5: I figure he can find a loophole.
- 1:41:11Speaker 7: I'd be so pissed. If you get me killed.
- 1:41:15Speaker 8: No, no, no.
- 1:41:16Speaker 5: He'll bring you back. He'll bring you back.
- 1:41:18Speaker 1: Monkey Paul style.
- 1:41:21Speaker 7: You got monkey pawed.
- 1:41:23Speaker 5: You're totally getting monkey pawed.
- 1:41:24Speaker 6: I feel like we've talked about this. It's like if
- 1:41:26Speaker 6: you haunt me, it wouldn't really be like that big
- 1:41:28Speaker 6: of a deal.
- 1:41:29Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 1:41:29Speaker 1: I've said if I die before you, I'm going to
- 1:41:31Speaker 1: haunt you.
- 1:41:31Speaker 6: And it's just like you're quietly sitting and reading a book.
- 1:41:34Speaker 5: In fact, it might be better because the things you're
- 1:41:38Speaker 5: doing now are way more trouble than once you're the
- 1:41:41Speaker 5: ghost version of you. It's like, I can deal with that.
- 1:41:43Speaker 6: Now if it's the other way around, it's over for you.
- 1:41:46Speaker 7: Yeah, you'd be knocking stuff over.
- 1:41:49Speaker 5: Playing theremin badly all day.
- 1:41:52Speaker 8: Just be like, I just got five minutes of quiet time.
- 1:41:56Speaker 6: You just died.
- 1:41:59Speaker 5: Give me some peace for God's sake.
- 1:42:01Speaker 7: Give me like a week before you come back.
- 1:42:08Speaker 5: All right. Well, we don't have to roll anything. And
- 1:42:12Speaker 5: by the way, we skipped one. So for those of
- 1:42:14Speaker 5: you that are on the edge of your seat waiting
- 1:42:16Speaker 5: for whatever the hell that long hair movie was that
- 1:42:19Speaker 5: we've already forgotten the title of it. Yes. We'll get
- 1:42:21Speaker 5: back to that.
- 1:42:21Speaker 8: Why'd you point at me just because I forget the
- 1:42:23Speaker 8: title of all of them?
- 1:42:24Speaker 5: That's true. I also pointed to her. But in general... Yeah,
- 1:42:28Speaker 5: but you meant me.
- 1:42:29Speaker 2: Yeah, mostly.
- 1:42:29Speaker 8: You were trying to.
- 1:42:30Speaker 2: But.
- 1:42:32Speaker 5: You're lucky to remember it when we're sitting at the
- 1:42:34Speaker 5: table talking about it.
- 1:42:35Speaker 8: I have no idea what we watched.
- 1:42:36Speaker 5: Exactly. My point is made. So we and everyone, and
- 1:42:42Speaker 5: my other joke was no one's on the edge of
- 1:42:43Speaker 5: their seat. No one cares. So don't worry, person that
- 1:42:47Speaker 5: doesn't exist, worried about what our next episode is. We'll
- 1:42:50Speaker 5: get back to that one after the holidays. I'm assuming
- 1:42:53Speaker 5: every year we just go into holiday break. And normally
- 1:42:57Speaker 5: we don't know about the middle step, but since last
- 1:43:00Speaker 5: year we had a brand new one. centered around a
- 1:43:04Speaker 5: very specific Thanksgiving holiday? Are you up for that? I
- 1:43:09Speaker 5: didn't hear terrible things, actually. Not that I'm thrilled with
- 1:43:12Speaker 5: that director.
- 1:43:13Speaker 8: But it took me a minute.
- 1:43:16Speaker 5: We didn't do the Thanksgiving one that came out last year. Oh, yeah,
- 1:43:18Speaker 5: we could do that. We talked about it.
- 1:43:20Speaker 8: But didn't we watch a Thanksgiving movie last year?
- 1:43:21Speaker 6: We did.
- 1:43:22Speaker 5: But we didn't do the new one. We picked one
- 1:43:24Speaker 5: from a million years ago like we normally do. Because
- 1:43:27Speaker 5: normally they don't make, you know, they make Christmas movies
- 1:43:30Speaker 5: all the damn time. They make Halloween movies all the
- 1:43:32Speaker 5: damn time. It's only every once in a while you
- 1:43:34Speaker 5: get a Thanksgiving movie.
- 1:43:35Speaker 8: Stick getting there.
- 1:43:36Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, we've hit them all. That's why I
- 1:43:38Speaker 5: was like, oh, there's a new one. Good, because otherwise
- 1:43:40Speaker 5: we're out.
- 1:43:41Speaker 8: You get your Thanksgiving and your Thanksgiving 3. We've seen it.
- 1:43:44Speaker 5: We've got that other one.
- 1:43:45Speaker 8: And Nora's still pissed off. Oh, no, I don't blame her.
- 1:43:49Speaker 5: Three is a crime against humanity.
- 1:43:51Speaker 8: Did you see the Thanksgiving 3?
- 1:43:52Speaker 6: I had to watch all of them.
- 1:43:55Speaker 7: I don't think you finished it, though.
- 1:43:57Speaker 5: You should. I would have understood.
- 1:43:58Speaker 6: It's terrible.
- 1:43:59Speaker 5: I am usually on board with just watch whatever movie,
- 1:44:01Speaker 5: finish it, it's fine. That is a terrible, terrible movie.
- 1:44:05Speaker 6: There was like a modern one. What was that one?
- 1:44:08Speaker 6: It's like a modern Thanksgiving.
- 1:44:11Speaker 7: Oh, I think last year we did Pilgrim.
- 1:44:12Speaker 5: We did Pilgrim. Is that what it was called?
- 1:44:14Speaker 7: That's a fun one.
- 1:44:15Speaker 5: That's from the last couple years.
- 1:44:16Speaker 6: That one was crazy, dude. It came up in my house.
- 1:44:19Speaker 5: Get out of here man.
- 1:44:20Speaker 8: That was basically the purge but with pilgrims.
- 1:44:25Speaker 5: Historical reenactors I don't trust historical reenactors.
- 1:44:30Speaker 6: Anyway surprisingly showing up at your house.
- 1:44:32Speaker 5: Be like please leave that.
- 1:44:34Speaker 8: Just taught me that if you invite pilgrims in they
- 1:44:36Speaker 8: won't leave.
- 1:44:38Speaker 5: Like hippies once they get into your property man you're screwed.
- 1:44:43Speaker 6: Namaste right here.
- 1:44:47Speaker 5: I got rights. It's going to take months to get
- 1:44:50Speaker 5: me out of here. So say it's the pilgrims. So
- 1:44:56Speaker 5: if you want, then we know what we're watching next month.
- 1:44:58Speaker 5: So we can do that. I'm kind of curious again,
- 1:45:02Speaker 5: because I don't have high hopes for that director in general,
- 1:45:06Speaker 5: but I heard somewhat decent things. So I kind of
- 1:45:08Speaker 5: want to see where they meet in the middle. So
- 1:45:11Speaker 5: then we know what we're watching and I'm assuming we
- 1:45:13Speaker 5: know where we're going on the next holiday.
- 1:45:15Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:45:17Speaker 5: No one's fighting it. I mean, we're in the middle
- 1:45:20Speaker 5: of a series, for God's sake. Are we not coming
- 1:45:22Speaker 5: back for part three?
- 1:45:23Speaker 8: I have no idea what you're talking about.
- 1:45:26Speaker 5: You don't know what holiday comes after Thanksgiving?
- 1:45:28Speaker 1: No.
- 1:45:30Speaker 5: We do need to get you a calendar at least.
- 1:45:33Speaker 7: Oh, Silent Night, Deadly Night.
- 1:45:34Speaker 5: That's where we are. We're midway into that series. Oh,
- 1:45:38Speaker 5: there's like five at least. Yeah, there's like five in
- 1:45:42Speaker 5: a remake maybe. I can't remember.
- 1:45:44Speaker 8: I've been told three is better than two.
- 1:45:47Speaker 6: Well, two.
- 1:45:48Speaker 5: I was kind of looking forward to two because of
- 1:45:51Speaker 5: the horrible reputation. I was like, no, I need to
- 1:45:54Speaker 5: see how bad this is because I had not seen
- 1:45:56Speaker 5: that one, nor have I seen three. So I want
- 1:45:58Speaker 5: to see what we're.
- 1:46:00Speaker 7: Getting ourselves into i mean yeah two was something.
- 1:46:04Speaker 5: Two is impressive that it came out it was in
- 1:46:07Speaker 5: theaters for god's sakes even though 45 minutes of it
- 1:46:11Speaker 5: was reused footage from the first movie oh.
- 1:46:14Speaker 1: I have seen that exactly yeah i.
- 1:46:17Speaker 5: Have seen that one and it was like half holiday
- 1:46:19Speaker 5: class weird it's just Again, mostly it's like an experiment
- 1:46:25Speaker 5: of like, could they do this? Look, they did do this.
- 1:46:27Speaker 5: Hobby Damned. It's way more interesting than a good movie.
- 1:46:31Speaker 6: Was it a success?
- 1:46:32Speaker 5: I don't think so. But they made a three and
- 1:46:35Speaker 5: a four. It doesn't take much to be successful enough
- 1:46:39Speaker 5: to nudge you into, especially as we moved into straight
- 1:46:41Speaker 5: to video world. You could get anything made once you
- 1:46:44Speaker 5: got straight to video.
- 1:46:45Speaker 8: Those movies came out as home video was starting to
- 1:46:49Speaker 8: take off.
- 1:46:50Speaker 5: Yeah. And the first one became a big thing because
- 1:46:55Speaker 5: of home video. Because it got shut out in the
- 1:46:57Speaker 5: theaters because of all the protesting.
- 1:46:59Speaker 8: Because, oh, Santa's not supposed to kill people.
- 1:47:01Speaker 1: What?
- 1:47:03Speaker 5: Whiny baby.
- 1:47:04Speaker 6: We lived in Puritan times.
- 1:47:06Speaker 5: Exactly. Pilgrims right there. Santa kills all the time.
- 1:47:10Speaker 8: Really?
- 1:47:10Speaker 5: Watch any movie.
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: Everyone in the studio audience in the movie we just
- 1:47:14Speaker 1: watched was cheering on seeing the devil.
- 1:47:17Speaker 7: So yeah.
- 1:47:18Speaker 5: I mean, if we wanted to do that, like we
- 1:47:20Speaker 5: just had one where Santa was killing people. Like one
- 1:47:24Speaker 5: of the new silly ones was Santa being an asshole.
- 1:47:27Speaker 5: Like two years ago that we could watch this year
- 1:47:30Speaker 5: if we wanted to. And then there's another one coming
- 1:47:32Speaker 5: out this year that's like Santa gets kidnapped and The
- 1:47:34Speaker 5: Rock has to go save him.
- 1:47:35Speaker 10: I don't know.
- 1:47:36Speaker 5: I mean, again, if you're going to set boundaries, like,
- 1:47:38Speaker 5: why are you allowing this other nonsense to get made? But, yeah,
- 1:47:42Speaker 5: Violent Night was the one I just thought of. That
- 1:47:45Speaker 5: one seems like it should piss people off and nobody cared.
- 1:47:48Speaker 5: And then now Santa gets kidnapped and Captain America and
- 1:47:51Speaker 5: The Rock have to go find him. And it looks
- 1:47:54Speaker 5: pretty dumb. But, I mean, I'm not saying I'm not
- 1:47:56Speaker 5: going to watch it. I have low standards, obviously. You
- 1:48:00Speaker 5: guys have seen what I watched.
- 1:48:01Speaker 8: You know, the sad thing is for years I've been
- 1:48:03Speaker 8: working on, in my head, the treatment to a Santa
- 1:48:06Speaker 8: Gets Kidnapped movie. And if someone wants to give me
- 1:48:10Speaker 8: $ 40 million to make it, because it's got some.
- 1:48:13Speaker 5: I mean, this is what Tim Burton said one time.
- 1:48:17Speaker 5: And then Disney showed up and went, okay, that's true.
- 1:48:19Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:48:20Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:48:21Speaker 8: Because this does have Talking Reindeer.
- 1:48:23Speaker 9: Nice.
- 1:48:25Speaker 8: Tommy Lee Jones is the voice of.
- 1:48:29Speaker 5: You're going to have to hurry up on this one. Yeah,
- 1:48:32Speaker 5: I know. She's not getting younger.
- 1:48:34Speaker 1: But there's AI.
- 1:48:34Speaker 8: Anyway, if somebody was to give me $ 40 million, I've
- 1:48:37Speaker 8: got a rad Santa Gets Kidnapped movie.
- 1:48:39Speaker 5: Somebody get Tommy Lee Jones to talk into a thing
- 1:48:42Speaker 5: and just say all the words. Because at this point,
- 1:48:45Speaker 5: there are. They have just started pitching that. There's five
- 1:48:49Speaker 5: or six different celebrities that have gone into whichever AI
- 1:48:54Speaker 5: group is in charge of the world now and is like,
- 1:48:57Speaker 5: you can now get like their version of your Siri
- 1:49:00Speaker 5: or whatever, like all of the things talking to you
- 1:49:04Speaker 5: can be like Scarlett Johansson. Cause that's, she will be
- 1:49:06Speaker 5: the ultimate GPS. Now that, I mean, who doesn't, who
- 1:49:10Speaker 5: doesn't want to get on board with Snoop?
- 1:49:12Speaker 6: Like you can't.
- 1:49:12Speaker 8: When did he become America's sweetheart?
- 1:49:14Speaker 5: He really kind of is like, he just, you can't
- 1:49:17Speaker 5: fight it.
- 1:49:18Speaker 8: Like when I was in high school, he was hated
- 1:49:20Speaker 8: by parents and now he's, He's at the Olympics.
- 1:49:24Speaker 5: He's adorable. He's adorable. He's like an animated character, but
- 1:49:27Speaker 5: he's just an old stoner dude now. And you're just like, oh,
- 1:49:30Speaker 5: look at him. He's adorable.
- 1:49:32Speaker 8: My dad should not give a shit about Snoop Dogg
- 1:49:36Speaker 8: or Martha Stewart. But you put the two of them together,
- 1:49:39Speaker 8: and he's happy.
- 1:49:40Speaker 5: Who's done more time? It ain't Snoop.
- 1:49:43Speaker 6: One's an actual fellow.
- 1:49:46Speaker 5: It ain't Snoop. It's not the one involved with Death
- 1:49:49Speaker 5: Row Records. It's the other one. By the way, he
- 1:49:53Speaker 5: now owns that. I don't think I realized that. Good
- 1:49:56Speaker 5: for him.
- 1:49:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:49:57Speaker 5: He's on the boys pitching that. He's like, I started there.
- 1:50:00Speaker 5: I got signed on to it. Now I own it.
- 1:50:02Speaker 8: That is impressive.
- 1:50:03Speaker 5: It is.
- 1:50:03Speaker 8: I'm more impressed by the stuff that he coaches his
- 1:50:07Speaker 8: grandson's football team.
- 1:50:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:50:10Speaker 5: He talks about being a girl dad. He's so involved
- 1:50:13Speaker 5: with his daughters that I'm like, this is why people
- 1:50:16Speaker 5: have to love you. He can't fight Snoop.
- 1:50:18Speaker 10: I mean.
- 1:50:19Speaker 5: That's the horror movie we need to make.
- 1:50:21Speaker 6: You can't fight Snoop Dogg.
- 1:50:23Speaker 1: He actually has a Snoop Dogg's hood of horror that
- 1:50:26Speaker 1: I watched when I was in high school.
- 1:50:27Speaker 3: That's true.
- 1:50:27Speaker 5: We should work that in somewhere down the line.
- 1:50:29Speaker 7: Yeah, we'll put that on the list.
- 1:50:30Speaker 5: Somebody put that on the list.
- 1:50:31Speaker 6: So, Tales from the Hood?
- 1:50:32Speaker 5: Is that what it is, or is that different? That's
- 1:50:33Speaker 5: an iced tea on that one. So, of your rap
- 1:50:36Speaker 5: horror movies, there are several. There's a lot, actually. There's several.
- 1:50:40Speaker 5: They did other Tales from the Hood later. There was
- 1:50:43Speaker 5: the main one, but then they did one that was
- 1:50:45Speaker 5: straight to screaming. Yeah.
- 1:50:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:50:48Speaker 5: So, it's a market.
- 1:50:49Speaker 6: Updated Tales from the Hood.
- 1:50:51Speaker 7: I think they're like just... Yeah, just.
- 1:50:53Speaker 5: Like a year or two ago. There's another one, yeah.
- 1:50:56Speaker 5: They keep making them.
- 1:50:57Speaker 6: Why am I thinking these were all in the 90s?
- 1:50:59Speaker 5: They started there. They feel like they should be. Which
- 1:51:04Speaker 5: makes me think maybe this experiment won't work. But, you know,
- 1:51:07Speaker 5: we can put it on the list. What do we know? Yeah.
- 1:51:10Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:51:11Speaker 5: I think we've covered most things.
- 1:51:13Speaker 8: I think we stopped talking about the movie like a
- 1:51:14Speaker 8: half hour ago.
- 1:51:15Speaker 5: I know, but it's a Halloween party, so we got
- 1:51:17Speaker 5: a lot of things to talk about.
- 1:51:18Speaker 8: I'm all hopped up on candy.
- 1:51:21Speaker 6: I know.
- 1:51:21Speaker 5: I'm going to eat one of those green Snickers, and
- 1:51:23Speaker 5: it's all going to be a real party now.
- 1:51:27Speaker 2: Anything else?
- 1:51:28Speaker 8: The green Snickers are no longer frozen.
- 1:51:30Speaker 5: Well, I got a freezer. I'm just kidnapping your Snickers.
- 1:51:34Speaker 7: Please do.
- 1:51:35Speaker 6: I just wanted to say thank you for letting me
- 1:51:37Speaker 6: come on and invade your show.
- 1:51:39Speaker 5: I'm glad you were here. You have survived is what
- 1:51:41Speaker 5: you're saying? You're okay?
- 1:51:43Speaker 6: No, it was a really great time. And if y'all
- 1:51:47Speaker 6: ever want to do it again, I'm happy to join.
- 1:51:48Speaker 6: And if not, I know that like... I'll be seeing
- 1:51:52Speaker 6: y'all in the near future anyways.
- 1:51:53Speaker 8: That was Pierce and Nora high-fiving, not someone smacking.
- 1:51:59Speaker 5: Nora smacked him and said, shut up. I'll tell you
- 1:52:02Speaker 5: when you can be on the show.
- 1:52:03Speaker 8: I can't wait to come back.
- 1:52:05Speaker 5: You'll be on when I tell you.
- 1:52:06Speaker 8: You'll wait to come back.
- 1:52:08Speaker 6: You can call me Gus.
- 1:52:10Speaker 7: You'll be my Gus.
- 1:52:12Speaker 5: Oh, your neck's going to get broken. Well, that's the thing.
- 1:52:17Speaker 5: I think we enjoy having you on, but it could
- 1:52:19Speaker 5: be a little too much time for you, so you
- 1:52:22Speaker 5: can make that call.
- 1:52:23Speaker 7: You can come on any time.
- 1:52:26Speaker 8: Or we just get rid of Nora.
- 1:52:28Speaker 7: Well, maybe you just switch us out. Yeah, we'll be interchangeable.
- 1:52:33Speaker 5: Tag team. Tag me in.
- 1:52:35Speaker 1: So if I'm ever like, I just want to stay
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: home and take a nap, you go.
- 1:52:37Speaker 5: No, we're just coming over here to the couch where
- 1:52:39Speaker 5: you'll be napping.
- 1:52:40Speaker 2: That's true.
- 1:52:41Speaker 5: Not the first time you've laid over there and podcasted.
- 1:52:43Speaker 6: It's record on top.
- 1:52:46Speaker 5: I think that's a different podcast. But would probably be successful.
- 1:52:53Speaker 6: But thanks, guys.
- 1:52:54Speaker 5: It was a really good time. You can get roped
- 1:52:56Speaker 5: in as often as you're up for it. I think
- 1:52:58Speaker 5: that's the key. When are you really up for it?
- 1:53:02Speaker 5: Sooner or later, most people come to their senses. You're like, yeah,
- 1:53:05Speaker 5: I got things to do. Duped. I think he's been duped.
- 1:53:12Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:53:13Speaker 5: Well, otherwise, that about does it. We will return next time.
- 1:53:16Speaker 5: Same geek feed. Thanks for listening.
- 1:53:18Speaker 1: Bye.
- 1:53:18Speaker 8: Bye, everybody.
- 1:53:20Speaker 5: Bye.
- 1:53:20Speaker 7: Happy Halloween.
- 1:53:21Speaker 8: Happy Halloween.
- 1:54:08Speaker 5: Speak of the devil, he's no wind of mine.
- 1:54:15Speaker 2: The time from him is when we go.
- 1:54:39Speaker 5: To hell.
- 1:55:20Speaker 1: There's a better way We are here to win.
- 1:55:25Speaker 2: You Thank you.
- 1:57:27Speaker 6: Look how offensive that gourd is.
- 1:57:28Speaker 8: That is inappropriate.
- 1:57:31Speaker 6: It looks like Nessie back there, but when you pull
- 1:57:32Speaker 6: it out, it's just like you.
