- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Hey guys, welcome to the almost of His podcast. Today.
- 0:08Speaker 2: We have such a treat. We have newlyweds Peter Krause
- 0:11Speaker 2: and Hannah Obbs. Okay, Obbs, Chuck stop.
- 0:18Speaker 3: It was great. And you know what, I do plan
- 0:21Speaker 3: on changing my name to Kraus officially, so it doesn't
- 0:23Speaker 3: even matter.
- 0:24Speaker 2: So thank you for that first answer, because that, of
- 0:27Speaker 2: course is on our rundown of questions. Are you going to.
- 0:29Speaker 3: Change your name?
- 0:30Speaker 2: Have you been dying to change your name your whole life?
- 0:32Speaker 3: I mean I always joked that I wanted to marry
- 0:35Speaker 3: like a Smith or a Jones, like somebody with like
- 0:38Speaker 3: I was like, I need a basic last name because yeah,
- 0:41Speaker 3: stop chuck. Coming from sports broadcasting, it was just like everyone.
- 0:45Speaker 3: That was their first question to me. They were like, quick,
- 0:46Speaker 3: how do we say your name so you're not alone?
- 0:51Speaker 2: That's really well, Krause is a pretty easy name.
- 0:54Speaker 3: Yeah, we nailed that one. Thank you. We didn't get
- 0:59Speaker 3: that one down.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Just congratulations. You guys have had a wild six months.
- 1:06Speaker 2: It was crazy because the last time Peter was on
- 1:08Speaker 2: here it was May twenty twenty five, and he was.
- 1:12Speaker 2: I mean, Hannah just the cutest is absolutely gushing about
- 1:15Speaker 2: you and saying that you guys would be engaged by
- 1:18Speaker 2: the end of the year. But lo and behold, you
- 1:20Speaker 2: were actually married by the end of the year, and
- 1:23Speaker 2: also with child.
- 1:26Speaker 3: Yeah, a little bit of a blood twister.
- 1:28Speaker 4: Then when I put my mind was something I do it? Yeah?
- 1:32Speaker 5: Did you know, I mean, remide, did you know that
- 1:36Speaker 5: this was how it was going to play out when
- 1:38Speaker 5: you were on our show, Peter, Okay, I.
- 1:41Speaker 4: Mean I knew I was going to get engaged in the year.
- 1:42Speaker 6: I didn't think we'd be married within the year, that's
- 1:44Speaker 6: for sure, Okay, Okay, Yes, I didn't think we'd be
- 1:47Speaker 6: pregnant and expecting at the same time.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Okay, but you found out, Yeah didn't you find out
- 1:53Speaker 2: that you were pregnant after the proposal?
- 1:55Speaker 4: Yeah? It was literally like six days later.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:58Speaker 4: Wait, I think it was within semary days.
- 2:01Speaker 3: It was, truly, it was eight days later. On the dot.
- 2:04Speaker 3: I went to one of his workout classes and somebody
- 2:06Speaker 3: was like, you're glowing. It's the engagement glow. And I
- 2:08Speaker 3: was like ooh, and then I was like, eureka, mental note,
- 2:12Speaker 3: I am actually a day late. It was one of
- 2:16Speaker 3: those things. But yeah, we took a pregnancy test, and yeah,
- 2:20Speaker 3: plot twist, total plot twists, but it was it's all
- 2:24Speaker 3: a great timing. We figured it out. I mean, I've
- 2:26Speaker 3: never wanted like a long engagement anyways. I think we're
- 2:28Speaker 3: too old for you know, really that way. Like I
- 2:32Speaker 3: was like, I don't want to be engaged for like
- 2:33Speaker 3: two years, like we don't have time. So that happened,
- 2:38Speaker 3: and you know, I guess it kind of worked out.
- 2:39Speaker 4: I would say it worked out.
- 2:41Speaker 5: Let's have a parenting conversation real quick, one of our
- 2:44Speaker 5: favorite topics I have on the show. In all honesty,
- 2:48Speaker 5: I'm not I don't want to make any assumptions when
- 2:50Speaker 5: you found out. What was the initial emotion. Oh yeah,
- 2:56Speaker 5: we had complete opposite reactions. Just laid down for a
- 3:00Speaker 5: nap and she's like, I'm gonna take a pregnancy test.
- 3:02Speaker 5: I'm like, please don't do it now. I'd really like
- 3:04Speaker 5: to take a nap. I haven't slept in a few days.
- 3:07Speaker 5: And she's like, now now is the time. And so
- 3:10Speaker 5: when she did, uh, take the first one it was positive.
- 3:13Speaker 5: The initial reaction was like, all right, I just relaxed,
- 3:15Speaker 5: take another one, and then it was taking another one
- 3:17Speaker 5: another one, and I just started laughing, like I couldn't.
- 3:19Speaker 4: Help but laugh the whole situation.
- 3:21Speaker 6: He was laughing, and she immediately started crying.
- 3:25Speaker 3: I was like, this is backwards, this is not what
- 3:26Speaker 3: it's supposed to be, Like, oh my god, I was
- 3:28Speaker 3: having a mental breakdown. Funny enough, my best friend who
- 3:33Speaker 3: has kids, had gotten me the pregnancy test, like sort
- 3:36Speaker 3: of as a joke when I moved in with Peter.
- 3:38Speaker 3: So I was like, these are rigged.
- 3:40Speaker 4: Like these.
- 3:44Speaker 3: So I made Peter pianistick.
- 3:48Speaker 4: We learned it was not we had to have all
- 3:51Speaker 4: and I was the control.
- 3:53Speaker 7: That's brilliant.
- 3:54Speaker 4: Yeah, that's brilliant. Was to say I'm not pregnant.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Wow, that's so funny. Okay, So I understand that you
- 4:02Speaker 2: probably were excited about wearing a wedding dress in a
- 4:05Speaker 2: traditional way.
- 4:07Speaker 3: It sounds so stupid, but like you spend your whole
- 4:10Speaker 3: life thinking about what you would look like in a
- 4:11Speaker 3: wedding dress, and then if you search on Pinterest like
- 4:14Speaker 3: pregnancy bride, nothing good comes up, like truly nothing.
- 4:18Speaker 2: So then I was stunning.
- 4:19Speaker 3: It was perfect.
- 4:21Speaker 4: Yeah, it was.
- 4:22Speaker 3: It was just one of those things where I was like, Okay,
- 4:24Speaker 3: I have to re shift everything in my brain that
- 4:26Speaker 3: I thought I would have.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Of course, it was the death of a dream there.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Yes, oh thank you for getting that, because it's like
- 4:32Speaker 3: I felt so silly in the whole process, being like,
- 4:35Speaker 3: I'm not a I can't be like a you know,
- 4:37Speaker 3: a Pinterest bride. But I like once, once it got
- 4:41Speaker 3: to the day of I was like, I honestly couldn't
- 4:43Speaker 3: care less. So that worked out.
- 4:46Speaker 7: You are a Pinterest bride.
- 4:47Speaker 5: So now when people google it, they're going to see
- 4:50Speaker 5: you and they're like, oh, that looks nice, like that
- 4:52Speaker 5: looks good.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Exactly, you are going to show up as one of
- 4:55Speaker 2: the top options.
- 4:57Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, Well thanks guys, I appreciate that.
- 5:00Speaker 5: Hey, yeah, I want to keep going though in this
- 5:02Speaker 5: so you were you were crying. There was like a
- 5:07Speaker 5: lot obviously a lot of emotion. When did it start
- 5:13Speaker 5: to like settle in though? I mean even for you know,
- 5:16Speaker 5: for me, we had been trying, like this was a
- 5:19Speaker 5: planned to have and right now I am sitting next
- 5:22Speaker 5: to my daughter as she throws it looks like cotted
- 5:25Speaker 5: cheese across the floor. But and like even for me,
- 5:30Speaker 5: I was like shocked. We trying and when Jess told
- 5:33Speaker 5: me she was pregnant, was like, whoa, And then all
- 5:35Speaker 5: of a sudden, like it set in and I was
- 5:37Speaker 5: very nervous, like for a long time. So anyways, when
- 5:40Speaker 5: did it set in for you? How did this all
- 5:42Speaker 5: kind of like sift through in your mind?
- 5:46Speaker 6: I mean for me, it went in waves. I think
- 5:48Speaker 6: in the beginning it was just like, Okay, this is
- 5:51Speaker 6: almost unbelievable, so it didn't really hit as real yet.
- 5:54Speaker 6: But then over the next like weeks and months, and
- 5:57Speaker 6: especially once we did the ultrasound and then she started
- 5:59Speaker 6: to have a baby. Like, the more into the process
- 6:02Speaker 6: it's been, the more realistic it gets, the more exciting
- 6:04Speaker 6: I get. But I'm very like I need to see
- 6:07Speaker 6: it and believe it before it like really sets in.
- 6:10Speaker 6: So like if someone says goodbye, Like even I don't
- 6:12Speaker 6: really process the goodbye tolls.
- 6:14Speaker 4: And I go to calm, they're not there.
- 6:15Speaker 6: I was like, oh, so, having a baby for the
- 6:17Speaker 6: first time with no baby bump was I don't know,
- 6:21Speaker 6: hard to understand.
- 6:23Speaker 3: I think it takes men a little bit longer. I mean, Ashley,
- 6:26Speaker 3: you probably get this, like I the minute you get pregnant,
- 6:30Speaker 3: I feel like everything changes, like your body changes and
- 6:32Speaker 3: shifts daily, even if you're not like full blown belly bump,
- 6:35Speaker 3: you're just like you can feel it mentally internally, like
- 6:38Speaker 3: you I feel it in my skin, my everything.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Yes, everything was taken from me. I felt like everything
- 6:47Speaker 2: was stolen.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Yes, I was like, I have acting I've never had.
- 6:50Speaker 3: I haven't had acting in ten years? What is going on?
- 6:53Speaker 3: Like things like that, where he was like, it is
- 6:56Speaker 3: funny to look back on because I did think I
- 6:58Speaker 3: was showing for a long time, where now I can
- 7:00Speaker 3: safely say, I'm like, I'm in my third trimester. I'm
- 7:02Speaker 3: very much showing. But I think that's maybe why it
- 7:05Speaker 3: took him a long time, because to him, I like,
- 7:07Speaker 3: it was no difference, you know, until we felt that
- 7:10Speaker 3: heartbeat and really saw her.
- 7:12Speaker 2: So how did you feel otherwise? Because Jared really couldn't
- 7:18Speaker 2: not know because I threw up for thirty weeks straight. Wow. Yeah,
- 7:25Speaker 2: with our first it was totally different. I had hyper
- 7:27Speaker 2: emesis gravidarium, so it was you know, so it was awful.
- 7:31Speaker 2: And then I totally expected to have it again the
- 7:33Speaker 2: second time because the likelihood is very high, and I didn't,
- 7:38Speaker 2: like I just had like a regular yucky pregnancy, but
- 7:43Speaker 2: I even physically, like I didn't look nearly as honestly heinous.
- 7:50Speaker 2: I looked like a pregnant lady, whereas like beforehand, it
- 7:53Speaker 2: was like is she well? So anyway anyway, not about me?
- 7:57Speaker 2: How did you feel?
- 7:59Speaker 3: No, I get that completely. I I wasn't sick, like
- 8:03Speaker 3: I wasn't throwing up, but I was nauseous. I actually
- 8:05Speaker 3: felt like things would be easier if I would just
- 8:08Speaker 3: if I could just throw up, but I just didn't
- 8:10Speaker 3: have that. But yeah, I wasn't feeling great. I was
- 8:14Speaker 3: definitely hormonal.
- 8:17Speaker 4: There were moments, yeah, I throws.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Where I was like should we even get married now?
- 8:23Speaker 3: Like what should we do? Like just rethinking the entire
- 8:26Speaker 3: thought process of of our lives.
- 8:29Speaker 5: I'm so excited to talk about this because I am
- 8:31Speaker 5: sitting here today Jessica for Christmas. I thought it was
- 8:35Speaker 5: such a good idea to buy her a SPA day
- 8:37Speaker 5: because she does so much well today was that day,
- 8:40Speaker 5: and yet I forgot to block this day off from
- 8:44Speaker 5: all other things. So so we're doing it, and I
- 8:49Speaker 5: now know why Jessica deserved a SPA day because of
- 8:51Speaker 5: the last like even just two hours of my life.
- 8:54Speaker 3: But you're doing great.
- 8:56Speaker 4: You're doing great.
- 8:57Speaker 7: It is It.
- 8:58Speaker 5: Is the coolest thing. It is nothing but fantastic. When
- 9:04Speaker 5: did this whole thing turn into excitement or has it
- 9:06Speaker 5: turned into excitement yet for you?
- 9:09Speaker 1: So?
- 9:09Speaker 6: Oh yeah, I mean NonStop excitement. I think the moment
- 9:14Speaker 6: it's set in for me. I don't know what day
- 9:16Speaker 6: or time that was, but it's like the wedding was great,
- 9:18Speaker 6: but it really like shifted gears to the baby, like
- 9:20Speaker 6: everything's been baby since that point.
- 9:23Speaker 4: The wedding was beautiful and it was amazing. It was perfect
- 9:25Speaker 4: from like start to finish it.
- 9:26Speaker 6: It was just like the baby brings a hole new
- 9:28Speaker 6: excitement to life as a whole, which is so great.
- 9:31Speaker 3: I actually think once we found out it was a
- 9:33Speaker 3: girl was when we really shifted into just like such excitement.
- 9:37Speaker 3: I think the fear went away then because we had
- 9:40Speaker 3: always talked about, you know, we would want a girl first.
- 9:43Speaker 3: I don't know why, but we just both said that,
- 9:45Speaker 3: and so then when we realized it was a girl,
- 9:48Speaker 3: it just felt like such a gift and I was like, Okay,
- 9:50Speaker 3: this is like everything we wanted it's happening. It's just
- 9:53Speaker 3: happening faster than we thought, and that's okay, so just
- 9:56Speaker 3: like rewiring our brains a little bit.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Nice, that's so said.
- 10:01Speaker 4: I just can't wait to hugger. I want to kiss
- 10:03Speaker 4: her and huggers so cute.
- 10:06Speaker 7: You're it's you're going to be broken. You're going to
- 10:09Speaker 7: be absolutely broken. My man.
- 10:12Speaker 4: I'm going to be girl's finger. It's so bad.
- 10:15Speaker 7: It's going to yeah, yeah.
- 10:17Speaker 5: You She's like she she will destroy you in the
- 10:21Speaker 5: best of ways, like a must like mush.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Mus, like solidly not having another kid. But now Ben
- 10:28Speaker 2: says this and I'm like, so I have to gender
- 10:30Speaker 2: select a girl. Oh man, okay, Well, so where when
- 10:39Speaker 2: you found out that you were going to have a
- 10:42Speaker 2: baby and then you're also going to get married and
- 10:44Speaker 2: you said that like you had to change your whole
- 10:47Speaker 2: mentality as far as dress and like kind of planning goes.
- 10:50Speaker 2: What why did you decide to not get married after
- 10:54Speaker 2: having the baby? Did you want to be like traditional
- 10:56Speaker 2: in that sense?
- 11:00Speaker 3: Part of me was just like I knew that once
- 11:03Speaker 3: I had a baby, I wouldn't give a crap about
- 11:05Speaker 3: a wedding.
- 11:06Speaker 2: I just was like so accurate.
- 11:08Speaker 3: Yeah, it was like the only way to do it
- 11:10Speaker 3: is just to do it now. And I'm like traditional
- 11:13Speaker 3: in the sense like I would rather be married before
- 11:15Speaker 3: having a baby, but I wasn't. I didn't want to
- 11:18Speaker 3: like force it and rush it, and so we came
- 11:20Speaker 3: up with like a few dates, and I think the
- 11:22Speaker 3: ones like after the baby. I was just like who cares?
- 11:27Speaker 3: Like the only thing in the way was my ego.
- 11:29Speaker 3: So I was like, am I really going to let
- 11:30Speaker 3: my ego stop us from having a wedding beforehand when
- 11:33Speaker 3: we have time and we can do it, Like like
- 11:35Speaker 3: so what, I'm not going to be this like thing
- 11:37Speaker 3: that I thought I would be, but I was. I
- 11:39Speaker 3: just had to have that talk with myself and I
- 11:41Speaker 3: was like, kind of, who cares? It's like so stupid.
- 11:44Speaker 3: So I think that was honestly the only reason, and
- 11:46Speaker 3: that being the only reason, Like my physical self was
- 11:49Speaker 3: like I was like, can I get over it? And yeah,
- 11:52Speaker 3: So that was it.
- 11:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean we had a lot of conversations about it.
- 11:55Speaker 1: There.
- 11:55Speaker 6: It's like life doesn't stop just because of something that
- 11:58Speaker 6: we have on our schedule, so at some point there's
- 12:01Speaker 6: gonna be something else. And if it was yeah, now
- 12:03Speaker 6: the baby's little and we got to have the baby
- 12:05Speaker 6: involved or baby non involves.
- 12:07Speaker 4: So I just to take care of the baby.
- 12:09Speaker 6: And it's like, well, if you get pregnant again right away,
- 12:11Speaker 6: then do we push off another year. It's like it's
- 12:14Speaker 6: the difference. It's yeah, we're getting married and that's what's
- 12:16Speaker 6: most important. And I actually thought it was more exciting
- 12:20Speaker 6: being pregnant during the wedding because it created a family
- 12:23Speaker 6: unit right.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Then and there just the two of us.
- 12:27Speaker 3: We did have a lot of kids at our wedding.
- 12:28Speaker 3: So many kids, yeah, which was fun because like spoiler alert,
- 12:31Speaker 3: I was obviously caring one, so I was like, we're
- 12:33Speaker 3: going to have like we didn't have bridesmaids or groomsmen. Like,
- 12:35Speaker 3: we were just like, let's have all of our nieces
- 12:38Speaker 3: and nephews in the wedding. So we did that and yeah,
- 12:42Speaker 3: I think that ended up just being so fun, and
- 12:45Speaker 3: it was like it was such a family oriented thing.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Not knowing it would come out like that. I mean,
- 12:51Speaker 3: there was part of me that, like, you know, Peter
- 12:52Speaker 3: was getting fitted first tucks and I was like, lucky,
- 12:55Speaker 3: you you just have to get you know, like you
- 12:57Speaker 3: have no body changes and place. But I mean you
- 13:04Speaker 3: looked great.
- 13:06Speaker 2: You guys both like absolutely stunning, and those pictures were
- 13:09Speaker 2: like I don't even know what to say underneath them.
- 13:10Speaker 2: I'm like, this is just like actually in like home
- 13:14Speaker 2: goods in the frames.
- 13:15Speaker 7: No, that's good, that's good. Actually I like that.
- 13:20Speaker 4: Yeah, it was great funny.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Jared and I were reminiscing on before having kids and
- 13:35Speaker 2: how we used to like plan our dream house and
- 13:38Speaker 2: we were like, the kitchen will look like this with
- 13:41Speaker 2: this kind of hardware. And now you know, you.
- 13:44Speaker 3: Had like all these details and grand plans.
- 13:47Speaker 2: And then you have a kid and you're like, remember
- 13:49Speaker 2: when we cared about the hardware we were going to
- 13:51Speaker 2: put on the cabinets. That's so silly. All I care
- 13:55Speaker 2: about now is that they have a huge open space
- 13:58Speaker 2: for all their toys and like made We'll think about
- 14:01Speaker 2: this when they're in middle school.
- 14:03Speaker 4: Totally.
- 14:04Speaker 6: I mean that was literally the conversation in the wedding itself.
- 14:06Speaker 6: It was just life was going to keep going and
- 14:07Speaker 6: things are going to change.
- 14:08Speaker 4: And priorities will shift. Yeah, well we'll stress about now,
- 14:11Speaker 4: will not matter in six, twelve, twenty four months whatever.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Yeah, so crazy, how much it doesn't ye? Yeah, So
- 14:18Speaker 2: baby moon, honey moon combined?
- 14:21Speaker 4: What are we doing none of the above.
- 14:24Speaker 3: I mean, like we don't have time. Did you guys
- 14:26Speaker 3: all do one? Like I did not do a baby
- 14:28Speaker 3: moon either time.
- 14:28Speaker 5: Now, we did, but we wrapped it around like a
- 14:32Speaker 5: work trip, and so it was just like going to
- 14:34Speaker 5: a cool place and we stayed at a hotel for
- 14:35Speaker 5: two extra days.
- 14:37Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean it was great.
- 14:39Speaker 5: But you know, at the same time, I think when
- 14:42Speaker 5: you get later and later in pregnancy, I think, Ashley,
- 14:46Speaker 5: you know, I don't know. Jessica was kind of like
- 14:49Speaker 5: just wanted to be home. So traveling anyways was like
- 14:51Speaker 5: more inconvenient. Then it wasn't like and it's not like
- 14:55Speaker 5: she can have a cocktail on the beach. It's not
- 14:57Speaker 5: like we can go out late, like you know. Food
- 14:59Speaker 5: was always messing with her in certain ways. So honestly,
- 15:04Speaker 5: I think it was just great for her to be home.
- 15:06Speaker 5: Those were our best memories.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, I second that. I think that if anything,
- 15:11Speaker 2: do like the after baby moon, if you have like
- 15:13Speaker 2: a pair of grandparents that are willing to watch for
- 15:16Speaker 2: four nights once the baby's like four months. We did
- 15:19Speaker 2: do our little Paradise dint there and it was four
- 15:22Speaker 2: months in and.
- 15:23Speaker 3: It was perfect. Oh okay, that's good. I do hear that.
- 15:26Speaker 3: It's easier to travel, Easier to travel than you'd think
- 15:30Speaker 3: with a baby that's under six months. So we're already
- 15:32Speaker 3: planning a few, certainly.
- 15:35Speaker 4: Two trips coming up.
- 15:36Speaker 5: Yeah, Wenona has twenty five flights under her belt and she's.
- 15:39Speaker 7: Eleven months old.
- 15:41Speaker 2: I think my kids were the exact same.
- 15:43Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, okay, all right, you guys make it sound easy.
- 15:46Speaker 3: I feel like, I mean, we my family's in Florida.
- 15:49Speaker 3: I like to go to Florida, so I mean, like,
- 15:51Speaker 3: to us, it's like if we can just pop down there,
- 15:53Speaker 3: and you know, my mom would be thrilled that I
- 15:57Speaker 3: left the baby for a day.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Oh yeah, and you're here in Florida, so you can
- 16:02Speaker 2: actually just drive somewhere close and it'll feel like a
- 16:05Speaker 2: vacation far away. That's perfect. And don't listen to Ben.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Ben has the easiest baby that's ever existed. But I
- 16:12Speaker 2: will tell you, Hannah, whoever told you the six month
- 16:15Speaker 2: period is very accurate because they will fall asleep on
- 16:19Speaker 2: the plane kind of whenever between zero to six months.
- 16:23Speaker 2: But once you get to the six months to two,
- 16:28Speaker 2: that is hell on earth because that's when they don't
- 16:32Speaker 2: want to watch iPad, they won't watch TV yet and
- 16:36Speaker 2: they do not know what in the world to do.
- 16:39Speaker 2: The people will be like snacks or like the spinners,
- 16:42Speaker 2: like yes for two minutes at a time. The rest
- 16:45Speaker 2: of it's like I speak as somebody who is currently
- 16:50Speaker 2: in it, But just a variety of snacks can help, ye, anything,
- 16:55Speaker 2: it doesn't matter how unhealthy it is. Sorry, Peter, So
- 16:59Speaker 2: I know, just.
- 17:00Speaker 3: Give them cookies.
- 17:01Speaker 6: Yeah, and they're also her child and a trusts me.
- 17:04Speaker 4: There's plenty of cookies for those kids.
- 17:06Speaker 3: Yeahs sweets that's like been my only craving. My only
- 17:11Speaker 3: like weird craving is like, uh, the occasional salt and
- 17:14Speaker 3: vinegar anything, and then just like sugar, sweets, candy, sour candy,
- 17:18Speaker 3: regular candy. We had like a candy bar at the
- 17:21Speaker 3: wedding because I was like, this is a seaking bar
- 17:23Speaker 3: I could be at. So I'm gonna just say here
- 17:27Speaker 3: an assortment of different types of candies that I've now
- 17:30Speaker 3: all brought back to Wisconsin because.
- 17:34Speaker 2: I had like a my strange addiction like I wanted
- 17:37Speaker 2: to eat detergent powder detergent both times.
- 17:40Speaker 3: What that means something that's like, yeah.
- 17:44Speaker 2: I had like low iron. It wasn't significantly as low
- 17:48Speaker 2: as you would think if the fact that I really
- 17:52Speaker 2: wanted to eat detergent both times. But okay, so are
- 18:00Speaker 2: there any baby items that people have been suggesting to
- 18:04Speaker 2: you guys? Like what's on the registry? Are you having
- 18:06Speaker 2: a baby shower?
- 18:08Speaker 6: This is a great conversation because it's very different between
- 18:10Speaker 6: the two of lists. Ye, Hannah's got a very long
- 18:15Speaker 6: list of baby items in mind, had like two.
- 18:18Speaker 3: Okay, I just feel like I know more about babies
- 18:21Speaker 3: than Peter Nuts, and so I'm like, this is what
- 18:23Speaker 3: we need. This is But I will say that it's
- 18:26Speaker 3: like it's really easy to get stuck into the weeds
- 18:28Speaker 3: of what people say you need for a baby, and
- 18:31Speaker 3: then it's like you have to just like drop the
- 18:34Speaker 3: crap and be like, I actually don't need the Nike
- 18:37Speaker 3: version of whatever. This is that we went through our
- 18:39Speaker 3: baby list and he was like, why do we have
- 18:42Speaker 3: so many things that are high priced? And I was like,
- 18:43Speaker 3: you're right, like it's kind of silly. So there's a
- 18:46Speaker 3: lot of things that we like mixed from the baby list,
- 18:49Speaker 3: and we luckily have a lot of good friends and
- 18:51Speaker 3: family who are hand me downs. Yeah, Like I don't
- 18:55Speaker 3: even think we need to buy one outfit. Did you
- 18:58Speaker 3: feel that way, like everyone just keeps giving us girl clothes.
- 19:01Speaker 2: I'm like, great, I didn't have that for some reason.
- 19:04Speaker 2: But my sister just had a boy like three days ago.
- 19:08Speaker 2: So now this is the third boy things in almost
- 19:11Speaker 2: four years. So this baby has all the handy downs
- 19:15Speaker 2: and he also has all the handy down equipment, which
- 19:19Speaker 2: is so nice. They barely had to get anything. Yeah, yeah,
- 19:23Speaker 2: so it works out like that.
- 19:24Speaker 6: But sons and clients that have babies around the same,
- 19:28Speaker 6: I guess, like age right, young young babies are toddlers still,
- 19:31Speaker 6: and so we're getting a lot.
- 19:32Speaker 4: Of their stuff.
- 19:32Speaker 2: It's so nice. That's so great.
- 19:35Speaker 4: We're trying to.
- 19:36Speaker 6: Build a business, buy a house, all these things in
- 19:39Speaker 6: life that I spend eight hundred thousand dollars on one
- 19:43Speaker 6: piece of equipment when.
- 19:45Speaker 4: You can just get it from someone else.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Yes, absolutely. And then I was going to say about houses,
- 19:51Speaker 2: because this is my biggest advice to new parents who
- 19:55Speaker 2: like are in that in between, Like oftentimes you'll be
- 19:57Speaker 2: living in an apartment and you'll feel this pressure that
- 20:00Speaker 2: you need to live in a house for a baby,
- 20:03Speaker 2: And my biggest advice is for that first year, absolutely no,
- 20:07Speaker 2: just stay put where you are because the baby does
- 20:10Speaker 2: not take up much space at all at that point,
- 20:13Speaker 2: and you can transform like a little nook for them.
- 20:15Speaker 2: They don't need this instagrammable nursery.
- 20:18Speaker 4: Totally hundred percent.
- 20:20Speaker 3: I have no we have no nursery, and we we
- 20:23Speaker 3: have a you know, a second bedroom that's like lovely,
- 20:25Speaker 3: but it's always been our makeshift office, absolutely costroom and
- 20:29Speaker 3: all of that. So it's like, we're going to put
- 20:31Speaker 3: her stuff in there, but you know, for a while
- 20:33Speaker 3: they sleep with you in the best nut next to
- 20:35Speaker 3: the bed. It's like, it's fine. I once she can
- 20:38Speaker 3: remember what life is like, I will obviously have a
- 20:41Speaker 3: room for her and we'll make sure it's like, you know,
- 20:45Speaker 3: it's great. But I get trying not to fall into
- 20:47Speaker 3: that trap of thinking you need everything because people are like, okay,
- 20:50Speaker 3: I'm you know, I'm thirty weeks right now. So then
- 20:53Speaker 3: people are like, I see on my TikTok algorithm, it'll
- 20:56Speaker 3: be like people who are, you know, thirty three weeks
- 20:58Speaker 3: and they're like, I'm just putting the finishing time just
- 21:00Speaker 3: on the nursery, and I'm like, uh, we're not doing that.
- 21:03Speaker 7: That's okay.
- 21:04Speaker 2: That's like my biggest advice is, don't listen to influencers
- 21:08Speaker 2: when it comes to like having the perfect space put together.
- 21:12Speaker 3: Yeah, it almost needs to be de influenced.
- 21:15Speaker 2: Yes, that's great.
- 21:21Speaker 3: Everyone needs to just do less in the early stage department,
- 21:24Speaker 3: because it's true they don't. I mean, my mom, who's
- 21:26Speaker 3: so excited, is like, Okay, we have a pool. We
- 21:29Speaker 3: gotta like, you know, I have to figure out how
- 21:31Speaker 3: to get the pool. And I'm like, you know, the
- 21:32Speaker 3: baby's not moving mobiles.
- 21:35Speaker 2: A year, Like you're okay, yeah, you are, Okay.
- 21:39Speaker 5: I'm curious though, because we've talked a lot about babies,
- 21:43Speaker 5: what has it been like for the two of you.
- 21:45Speaker 5: I mean, obviously, when you're on here, Peter, you said, hey,
- 21:48Speaker 5: I'm gonna get engaged by into the year. We've talked
- 21:50Speaker 5: about the expedited timeline. We talked about the beautiful wedding.
- 21:53Speaker 5: We talked about the gift and the joy it is
- 21:55Speaker 5: that you will be that you're expecting a little monster.
- 22:01Speaker 5: And but for the two of you as a couple,
- 22:04Speaker 5: I would have to think like this is you've had
- 22:07Speaker 5: to navigate a lot and have more intense conversations than
- 22:12Speaker 5: most you know, pre engaged couples have had, So can
- 22:16Speaker 5: you walk all of us through kind of how you
- 22:17Speaker 5: guys have navigated it, where you stand today and how
- 22:20Speaker 5: you feel like you're a team.
- 22:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I think empathy leads the way. You just got
- 22:24Speaker 4: to be open and.
- 22:25Speaker 6: Understanding and allow space for a lot of challenging conversations
- 22:30Speaker 6: and listen a lot to why someone feels the way
- 22:33Speaker 6: they feel, trying not to interject during those conversations, allow
- 22:37Speaker 6: us one and get out exactly what they need to
- 22:39Speaker 6: get out, and then I just have to sit with
- 22:41Speaker 6: it and process it before I have to like be
- 22:45Speaker 6: the dad in the situation and start trying to like
- 22:47Speaker 6: make decisions. It's actually been really great. It's allowed us
- 22:53Speaker 6: to build a relationship that much stronger, and I think
- 22:55Speaker 6: allowed us to move so fast, so it's easy to
- 22:58Speaker 6: have I guess, challenging conversations when the love between us
- 23:02Speaker 6: with each step just gets stronger and stronger.
- 23:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:04Speaker 6: Like I think on our wedding day, I didn't expect
- 23:07Speaker 6: to feel a change, but I felt a change, like
- 23:09Speaker 6: it really increased.
- 23:11Speaker 4: My love for her.
- 23:13Speaker 6: And then during our wedding, I felt the baby kick
- 23:15Speaker 6: my arm while we were staying there at the altar.
- 23:18Speaker 2: That's so special.
- 23:20Speaker 4: Yeah, ILF like it.
- 23:22Speaker 6: Just it's further proof that this is all right and
- 23:26Speaker 6: there's no reason to question it. And little things will
- 23:29Speaker 6: come up throughout the process and they're not that serious.
- 23:32Speaker 6: We'll deal with them as they come. Yeah, so I
- 23:34Speaker 6: try not to overthink any of it.
- 23:36Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a good way of looking at it. I
- 23:38Speaker 3: think that at the end of the day. It sounds silly,
- 23:41Speaker 3: but I always just have to remind myself, like we're
- 23:43Speaker 3: walking and answered prayers like these are this is what
- 23:45Speaker 3: we wanted and from our life, and again it happened quickly.
- 23:50Speaker 3: So just knowing that these were like this was all
- 23:52Speaker 3: an answered prayer to us and like these things that
- 23:55Speaker 3: we wanted, it's it's so refreshing. But of course there's
- 23:58Speaker 3: a side of me, like I see couples who are like,
- 24:00Speaker 3: you know, I've been together for ten years and it's
- 24:02Speaker 3: so much time together before getting married and before having kids,
- 24:05Speaker 3: and I'm like, oh, that must be really cool, Like
- 24:07Speaker 3: I don't know what that's like. But I also think
- 24:09Speaker 3: the silver lining is that we'll have a little bit
- 24:12Speaker 3: of like I don't even know how to describe it,
- 24:15Speaker 3: like a this sounds bad, but like a selfishness and
- 24:18Speaker 3: a relationship with this new family that we're building, Like,
- 24:22Speaker 3: we'll prioritize making time for each other so much more
- 24:25Speaker 3: because we didn't really have, you know, like years and
- 24:28Speaker 3: years and years of dating before all of this happened.
- 24:30Speaker 3: So I think it will help us, like prioritize each other.
- 24:45Speaker 7: I don't want to give advice, but I do.
- 24:50Speaker 2: I have one next.
- 24:54Speaker 5: But based on my relationship, those two years that Jessica
- 24:58Speaker 5: and I spent as the married couple were magical. They
- 25:01Speaker 5: were They were so fun. They were very free. There
- 25:05Speaker 5: was no responsibilities. It was do whatever you want. But
- 25:09Speaker 5: I mean this when I say it, I think Jessica
- 25:12Speaker 5: would agree. They make zero sense to us now, like
- 25:16Speaker 5: with Winnie in our lives, this is where our life started,
- 25:20Speaker 5: this is when our marriage like started. So yes, they
- 25:24Speaker 5: were fun, they're great, we love them, but they don't
- 25:26Speaker 5: make any sense to us anymore because how in the
- 25:29Speaker 5: world did we survive, like do life without this little
- 25:33Speaker 5: girl and I and I I only say that because
- 25:35Speaker 5: I want I know that temptation will be there to
- 25:37Speaker 5: be like, gosh, you know you know what, uh, we
- 25:42Speaker 5: missed out on that, like that honeymoon phase. But the
- 25:46Speaker 5: honeymoon phase with a child just brings us closer together,
- 25:50Speaker 5: and I wish that for the two of you.
- 25:53Speaker 3: Thank you for saying that. That's great. That's like, it's
- 25:55Speaker 3: that's I I totally visualize that, and I love looking
- 25:59Speaker 3: forward to that idea, that concept because that does seem
- 26:03Speaker 3: so real to me. I see it in my friendships
- 26:05Speaker 3: and like their relationships too.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Yeah, Ben put that really beautifully. I would say, in
- 26:12Speaker 2: my own less beautified way, it does feel like marriage begins.
- 26:20Speaker 2: When the baby comes. There's just like a lot more
- 26:22Speaker 2: like a lot more like communication. I don't know what
- 26:27Speaker 2: it is, just like if the relationship feels more of
- 26:30Speaker 2: like something that you have to like talk through a
- 26:32Speaker 2: lot more, whereas like before it it feels like you're
- 26:36Speaker 2: just like friends having a great time together. You're just
- 26:39Speaker 2: you're hanging out, you're having fun, like everything's off the
- 26:42Speaker 2: seat of your pants. But like it feels like marriage
- 26:46Speaker 2: really like begins then, because I think that almost like
- 26:49Speaker 2: before kids, it's kind of like a continuation of dating. Yeah, yeah, okay,
- 26:55Speaker 2: And then I was also going to say that I
- 26:59Speaker 2: think that when you have only one child, it also
- 27:03Speaker 2: can remain a little bit more like feeling you're gonna
- 27:06Speaker 2: be able to get in more date nights. You know,
- 27:09Speaker 2: grandparents asking them to take care of a one kid,
- 27:12Speaker 2: No deal, they can handle that. Getting a babysitter like
- 27:17Speaker 2: wanting to do that also so cute, so easy, and
- 27:20Speaker 2: then putting one kid to bed and then being able
- 27:24Speaker 2: to watch a movie. Yeah you can do that. You
- 27:27Speaker 2: can eat dinner after you put the baby to bed
- 27:30Speaker 2: and like kind of feel like your nights are normal.
- 27:32Speaker 2: Then you have to and then you're just like where
- 27:34Speaker 2: chickens with our heads cut off.
- 27:36Speaker 3: Wait hell for a part of the ages of your kids,
- 27:39Speaker 3: the two and a half years is very perfect.
- 27:42Speaker 2: It's but like when you're it's the almost he's almost four,
- 27:45Speaker 2: and then the one and a half it's it's definitely
- 27:48Speaker 2: there's like a chaotic period of life. There's just like
- 27:50Speaker 2: no denying that if you have a three and a
- 27:52Speaker 2: one year and a half year old and it's gonna
- 27:54Speaker 2: be nuts.
- 27:54Speaker 3: Sure, I can totally see that.
- 27:56Speaker 6: There's a like a depiction of happiness, or I would
- 27:58Speaker 6: say there's like a chart showing happiness. It shows those
- 28:01Speaker 6: who are single without kids tend to be the least
- 28:04Speaker 6: happy overall. Those who are married with kids tend to
- 28:10Speaker 6: be like the highest peak of unhappiness.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Wait, the highest peak of unhappiness.
- 28:15Speaker 6: Yeah, but then they create it return unhappiness long term.
- 28:19Speaker 6: So it's like it's basically saying that, like when someone
- 28:22Speaker 6: is like early in their relationship, they're young, they have
- 28:24Speaker 6: two kids. There's a lot of stress on that relationship,
- 28:27Speaker 6: that family, the day to day, like there's lack of sleep,
- 28:30Speaker 6: there's a lot of financial stress for a lot of people.
- 28:33Speaker 4: There's just a lot of challenges.
- 28:36Speaker 6: But then having your child grow up in front of
- 28:39Speaker 6: your eyes and seeing the result of all your hard
- 28:41Speaker 6: work results in the highest peak of happiness hands down
- 28:45Speaker 6: by the end.
- 28:46Speaker 2: Interesting, Well, that's when you talk to older people, they
- 28:49Speaker 2: say what part of your life do you wish you
- 28:51Speaker 2: could return and relive, like in just enjoying mode, And
- 28:55Speaker 2: older people usually say that when their kids are little,
- 28:58Speaker 2: like not like necessarily want to brief like before ten
- 29:01Speaker 2: And I thought you were going to say that like
- 29:03Speaker 2: once all your kids reached the age of five, that
- 29:06Speaker 2: was going to happiness.
- 29:08Speaker 6: I don't know when like the change happens, but like
- 29:11Speaker 6: stress hands down, and then it's once things start to
- 29:14Speaker 6: like level off and the kids are growing up and
- 29:17Speaker 6: they're not as I guess, needy of your time and
- 29:20Speaker 6: attention and finances, it's much easier to sit back and
- 29:24Speaker 6: the like see the result of all your hard work.
- 29:26Speaker 6: And I think, like anything in life, when you work hard,
- 29:29Speaker 6: your enjoyment or happiness resulting from that hard work is
- 29:33Speaker 6: so much higher than if it just came to you.
- 29:35Speaker 6: And so your kids are by the hardest thing that
- 29:36Speaker 6: you're ever going to experience in life.
- 29:38Speaker 4: Yeah, and so the result the greatest happiness.
- 29:41Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 29:41Speaker 5: I would also argue that having a kid is hard,
- 29:44Speaker 5: It isn't as bad and hard as what Like, people
- 29:46Speaker 5: are going to start telling you here and Peter, here's
- 29:48Speaker 5: the cool part. And I seem to be so focused
- 29:50Speaker 5: on your relationshipause. I think it's wonderful the things and
- 29:53Speaker 5: the steps that you've taken here. But you're going to
- 29:57Speaker 5: get to fall in love all over again too, Like
- 30:01Speaker 5: it's crazy you have very little to do with the
- 30:04Speaker 5: success of this child for the first few weeks, like
- 30:07Speaker 5: you are.
- 30:08Speaker 7: You're a solid.
- 30:09Speaker 5: Bench player, filling in when you get called into the game.
- 30:13Speaker 5: But there and I know Jared would agree with you.
- 30:17Speaker 2: I called a lot.
- 30:22Speaker 7: Maybe Jared would not agree with me.
- 30:24Speaker 2: With him, he loves being active with that.
- 30:29Speaker 5: But seeing the person you love turn into a mother
- 30:34Speaker 5: is the coolest feeling as a husband, and I that's
- 30:39Speaker 5: that's one hundred percent true across the board. I've never
- 30:41Speaker 5: met a husband who's like, yeah, I saw my wife
- 30:43Speaker 5: as a mother and that was that sucked.
- 30:48Speaker 7: It is.
- 30:50Speaker 5: It is so cool that you get to experience not
- 30:52Speaker 5: only that wedding day where you look down and see
- 30:54Speaker 5: your bride, but also very soon the day you know
- 30:58Speaker 5: you two become parents, because you get like two of
- 31:01Speaker 5: the coolest feelings in the world back to back. And then,
- 31:05Speaker 5: like I said, I wasn't kidding when I said, be
- 31:07Speaker 5: prepared to be rot Everything in your life is going
- 31:09Speaker 5: to change and you are going to be a mushball
- 31:13Speaker 5: for maybe ever now, So have fun.
- 31:17Speaker 3: I always say Peter is like such a smosh to
- 31:19Speaker 3: begin with, Like there's like him having a girl to
- 31:23Speaker 3: me just made sense.
- 31:24Speaker 2: He's such a girl dad. It's like crazy. It's like
- 31:28Speaker 2: crazy only you know spend a number of days in
- 31:32Speaker 2: his presence, but like you just wreak girl dad in
- 31:35Speaker 2: the best way.
- 31:37Speaker 3: It's so true. And he started with like a girl
- 31:39Speaker 3: dog and then me and now an actual daughter. So
- 31:42Speaker 3: it's just like really funny. He's like, I'm surrounded.
- 31:44Speaker 4: Yeah, there's.
- 31:47Speaker 3: Business. Also was like led by a bunch of women,
- 31:49Speaker 3: so like, yeah, let's freaking go. It's happening.
- 31:53Speaker 2: My dad was always surrounded by women and female dogs
- 31:56Speaker 2: as well. Like he didn't even want a boy dog
- 31:58Speaker 2: in the house. No, yeah, so he never craved that.
- 32:01Speaker 2: And you know, my parents are crazy. They they actually
- 32:04Speaker 2: didn't go for a third because they didn't want a boy. No,
- 32:09Speaker 2: they're so now they have three grandsons, which is absolutely hilarious,
- 32:12Speaker 2: and they're obsessed with them. Yeah, I know it goes
- 32:16Speaker 2: all the way, like the Jonas brothers have all all girls.
- 32:19Speaker 3: And they were all see yeah, like him and I
- 32:22Speaker 3: both only have brothers, so we only know what it's
- 32:24Speaker 3: like with boys in the house. So but I always
- 32:27Speaker 3: wanted sisters, and like grew up watching the Kardashians and
- 32:31Speaker 3: was like, you know, wanted I wanted.
- 32:33Speaker 6: That she and her mom are like they're identical twins
- 32:38Speaker 6: and best friends.
- 32:39Speaker 4: And I have a feeling that this daughter is gonna
- 32:41Speaker 4: be exactly the same way. It's like watching triplets.
- 32:45Speaker 3: That's so so sweet. Love you guys, I'm so sweet.
- 32:52Speaker 2: Before we let you guys go, I just have to say, Okay,
- 32:54Speaker 2: So when Peter was on our podcast in May, I
- 32:56Speaker 2: like geeked out Hannah that like you end up being
- 32:59Speaker 2: his wife because you and I met so soon after
- 33:04Speaker 2: my time on the Bachelor, was even before I went
- 33:06Speaker 2: to go film Bachelor in Paradise, but like, we hit
- 33:09Speaker 2: it off at that party, and I followed you and
- 33:12Speaker 2: have been following you on Instagram ever since. So when
- 33:14Speaker 2: I saw the two of you together, I was like,
- 33:17Speaker 2: this world is far too small. You guys met on
- 33:22Speaker 2: dating app?
- 33:23Speaker 6: Yeah, yes, well technically we met in twenty seventeen in
- 33:26Speaker 6: Las Vegas. While I was with you and ben Ban,
- 33:31Speaker 6: myself and Dean were at a pool.
- 33:33Speaker 4: This was so sad, I want to say. It was
- 33:35Speaker 4: that the so weird. I don't know, it doesn't Hollywood.
- 33:38Speaker 2: We were playing Hollywood Hollywood.
- 33:40Speaker 6: Yeah, and we were we were just like out by
- 33:44Speaker 6: the pool and she came up with actually herself to start.
- 33:48Speaker 3: Nobody else would know. This was just like my this
- 33:51Speaker 3: a season of I mean, I just I spent my
- 33:53Speaker 3: entire twenties being like the chronically single friend. And so yeah,
- 33:57Speaker 3: I was on a bachelorette party and I you know,
- 33:59Speaker 3: we so them at the pool, and I was like,
- 34:01Speaker 3: how funny would it be if you know, we're on
- 34:02Speaker 3: a bachelor party we have to go talk to the
- 34:04Speaker 3: guys from bacheloring. It's you know, it's too funny. So
- 34:08Speaker 3: I led the way and yeah, I didn't even like,
- 34:11Speaker 3: I don't remember. I actually didn't remember this. My cousin
- 34:14Speaker 3: whose bachelor party was had to remind me that this
- 34:17Speaker 3: all happened. It was such a nuanced thing, like it
- 34:19Speaker 3: was like, I think we all spoke for like five
- 34:21Speaker 3: minutes at the pool and it was like a funny
- 34:22Speaker 3: story and then we that was it. I don't remember anything.
- 34:26Speaker 2: It wasn't like I'm the single bunch of my friends
- 34:29Speaker 2: and Peter Krause's over there and I'm going to go
- 34:31Speaker 2: like make this happen.
- 34:34Speaker 3: No, I wasn't really going for anything. It just was like,
- 34:37Speaker 3: I don't know, I have no idea why approached. But yeah,
- 34:44Speaker 3: that was a really funny time. There were a few
- 34:46Speaker 3: instances where him and I will talk about how we
- 34:48Speaker 3: were definitely in the same room. We're at the same party, like.
- 34:50Speaker 6: Super Bowls and Miami, New York, Yeah, Las Vegas. Multiple
- 34:55Speaker 6: times where we crossed paths. We just like put our
- 34:59Speaker 6: timelines together really as we probably passed each other at
- 35:01Speaker 6: some point multiple time.
- 35:03Speaker 2: Anybody that want to write a rom com about this,
- 35:07Speaker 2: it's pretty good, which is it is really funny to
- 35:10Speaker 2: think about.
- 35:10Speaker 3: But yeah, like I liked The Bachelor, like I watched
- 35:13Speaker 3: it and it's especially in its peak days, so like
- 35:15Speaker 3: I knew who he was, and even when I saw
- 35:17Speaker 3: him on Rayah all those years later, I was like, oh, yeah,
- 35:22Speaker 3: that's Peter Grass from The Bachelor, Like that's how I
- 35:24Speaker 3: still registered.
- 35:26Speaker 4: It was so so we matched, and she didn't respond
- 35:31Speaker 4: or say anything.
- 35:31Speaker 3: Well because also like what did you say? Did you
- 35:33Speaker 3: start it?
- 35:34Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 35:35Speaker 4: I desaid I and nice to meet you, Like that's it,
- 35:38Speaker 4: Like how's your day? I don't know. I always staying
- 35:40Speaker 4: a conversation and be very simplistic. It's like if I
- 35:42Speaker 4: want meeting, it's nice to hear.
- 35:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I would just say that coming from I don't know,
- 35:49Speaker 3: years of talking to people online. I just like got
- 35:52Speaker 3: over it. So I never cared and I was like,
- 35:54Speaker 3: he lives in Wisconsin. I'm never going to be this man.
- 35:56Speaker 3: So I didn't answer.
- 35:57Speaker 4: And so my rebuttal is why match in the first place?
- 36:00Speaker 2: Yeah, it's so stupid, but that happened a lot.
- 36:03Speaker 3: It's like it's that thing of like you're almost dating
- 36:07Speaker 3: has to do with like the mood you're in. It's bizarre,
- 36:09Speaker 3: like it depends what like with online dating, you're just
- 36:12Speaker 3: like sitting on your couch or sitting in your bed
- 36:14Speaker 3: before you go to sleep, and it fully depends on
- 36:17Speaker 3: your mood. So like, yeah, so Peter for the Bachler,
- 36:19Speaker 3: I was like, oh, he's cute. I remember him so,
- 36:22Speaker 3: but then I didn't want to respond. But then he
- 36:24Speaker 3: came to New York, like.
- 36:27Speaker 6: Coincidentally, so we went for coffee and then coffee out,
- 36:31Speaker 6: like so you message her again and be like, Hi,
- 36:33Speaker 6: I'm actually I'm coming to New York, like let's grab coffee,
- 36:39Speaker 6: And that's when she responded Yeah.
- 36:40Speaker 3: That's when I was like, oh, okay, then this is
- 36:42Speaker 3: probably worth responding to if he's going to be so yeah,
- 36:47Speaker 3: and then that's persistent. Coffee was like it wasn't even
- 36:50Speaker 3: I always say, it wasn't even like the best coffee ever,
- 36:52Speaker 3: Like I wasn't like, oh my god, this is the
- 36:54Speaker 3: best for a date. It was just his follow up afterwards,
- 36:57Speaker 3: like obviously we had a great conversation, but it was
- 37:01Speaker 3: the conversation that happened afterwards, and how he was like
- 37:05Speaker 3: so adamant about seeing me again, and he was just
- 37:08Speaker 3: immediately like different, like he was just the way you
- 37:11Speaker 3: carried yourself, all of it, like it because at first
- 37:14Speaker 3: it's like this seems like it's too good to be true,
- 37:16Speaker 3: like and so many cases are, so you just don't
- 37:18Speaker 3: even get your hopes up anymore. You know. We met
- 37:20Speaker 3: when I was like in my thirties, so I just
- 37:23Speaker 3: I get that thing of like just being over it
- 37:26Speaker 3: and not getting excited. And then when he was like, oh,
- 37:28Speaker 3: I want to come see you again, like I all
- 37:30Speaker 3: that stuff, like, I was like, okay, well you know,
- 37:32Speaker 3: we'll see if that happens. But he just time and
- 37:34Speaker 3: time again was like proving that he was different and
- 37:38Speaker 3: refreshing and and like also very normal, because I didn't
- 37:43Speaker 3: think that he would be normal.
- 37:45Speaker 2: So, Peter, you or did you feel like an instant
- 37:53Speaker 2: something at this coffee?
- 37:54Speaker 7: Oh?
- 37:54Speaker 4: Absolutely?
- 37:56Speaker 6: Watching her walk up, first of all, I was like, wow,
- 37:59Speaker 6: this woman is or just but then just in talking
- 38:02Speaker 6: to her, it was really refreshing to meet someone who
- 38:04Speaker 6: was beautiful and well spoken that was also just down
- 38:08Speaker 6: to earth things to talk to and then basically as
- 38:11Speaker 6: she said, like I had been on good first dates,
- 38:13Speaker 6: and then it was the communication affwards would either die
- 38:16Speaker 6: really fast or it was not. It's like equal and
- 38:22Speaker 6: it's like give and take, whereas this was I would
- 38:24Speaker 6: reach out and she would immediately respond, or even if
- 38:27Speaker 6: it's like literally immediately, but within a good amount of
- 38:31Speaker 6: time she would get back to me, and if it
- 38:33Speaker 6: was a longer period of time, she'd.
- 38:34Speaker 4: Actually say like, oh, I'm so sorry, I was busy,
- 38:37Speaker 4: Like great to hear from you. It just felt like
- 38:39Speaker 4: I was being.
- 38:40Speaker 6: Pursued just as much as I was pursuing her, which
- 38:43Speaker 6: I feel like in the dating world is few and
- 38:45Speaker 6: far between. I can't tell you how many people friends
- 38:48Speaker 6: I talk to that are talking about how they never
- 38:50Speaker 6: hear back. They message once and they just get ghosted,
- 38:53Speaker 6: or they go out on date and they never hear
- 38:55Speaker 6: from someone again. It's like, no one's putting in the effort. Yeah,
- 38:57Speaker 6: and she seemed like she was actually putting in the
- 38:59Speaker 6: effort to get to know me.
- 39:01Speaker 2: It seems like you guys are just mature because like
- 39:04Speaker 2: a lot of the time, there's just no there's no
- 39:06Speaker 2: games here.
- 39:07Speaker 4: Yeah, and that's what we said.
- 39:08Speaker 6: I was like finally a mature, smart, intelligent woman who
- 39:14Speaker 6: was also beautiful, funny, easy to talk to, and charismatic.
- 39:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I had no like rules in dating, Like I
- 39:20Speaker 3: wasn't gonna like not text a guy first or like
- 39:22Speaker 3: any of that. So when he was just like when
- 39:25Speaker 3: you just have to follow the feeling, like if it
- 39:26Speaker 3: feels good, then just keep going, like keep texting it.
- 39:29Speaker 3: Like you just have to be a little like what
- 39:34Speaker 3: am I trying to say? You have to just like
- 39:37Speaker 3: take a chance and like send a stupid text, even
- 39:40Speaker 3: if you're like, oh my god, I'm going to text
- 39:41Speaker 3: him first for the first time, you're like internally screaming,
- 39:44Speaker 3: but just do it, because if it doesn't work out,
- 39:47Speaker 3: it'll very obviously not work out or exactly right. And
- 39:51Speaker 3: we always used to say, like, if this didn't turn
- 39:54Speaker 3: into anything, like this was early stages, just early odds
- 39:56Speaker 3: of like the first few weeks of texting and talking
- 39:59Speaker 3: on phone all the time. After that initial meeting, we
- 40:02Speaker 3: would say, like, if this doesn't work out, it was
- 40:04Speaker 3: purely refreshing meeting you, because it reminded me that like
- 40:08Speaker 3: people that I was looking for, like I wasn't crazy,
- 40:10Speaker 3: like they existed and they were out there and then
- 40:13Speaker 3: yeah and then yeah, we just like completely felt.
- 40:19Speaker 2: I love the story so so much. Also, the maturity
- 40:22Speaker 2: like probably makes for like the ending of your rom
- 40:24Speaker 2: com to like not like, I mean, wonderful for real life,
- 40:28Speaker 2: the best for real life.
- 40:30Speaker 3: Yes, there's no twist, not really not yet.
- 40:36Speaker 2: Okay, guys, well this was so much fun. I could
- 40:39Speaker 2: ask you zillion more questions, but we will let you go.
- 40:44Speaker 2: Congratulations so much on the wedding. It was beautiful and
- 40:48Speaker 2: we can't wait to see your absolutely beautiful child because
- 40:51Speaker 2: the beauty is going to be unreal.
- 40:52Speaker 3: Oh my gosh. Thank you. We're convinced she'll have the
- 40:55Speaker 3: gap too, so I.
- 40:57Speaker 2: Think it'll work. It's don't get racist on that. It's
- 41:00Speaker 2: that's a lot of quality. Yeah, thanks, oving you guys,
- 41:06Speaker 2: Bye bye.
