Al-Shabaab & the Minnesota Taxpayers, University Declares ‘Whiteness’ a Pandemic plus Texas Takes Aim at Terror Week In Review · The 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson

0:01
Speaker 1: Welcome.
0:01
Speaker 2: It is Verdict with Ted Cruz Weekend Review, Ben Ferguson
0:04
Speaker 2: with you, and these are the stories that you may
0:06
Speaker 2: have missed that we talked about this past week. First up,
0:09
Speaker 2: the largest funder of the terrorist organization Al Shabab apparently
0:15
Speaker 2: is the American taxpayer.
0:17
Speaker 1: How did this happen? We'll explain it in just a moment.
0:21
Speaker 2: Also, whiteness is apparently a pandemic so dangerous that one
0:26
Speaker 2: university says it's a major study point that we have
0:30
Speaker 2: to talk about. And finally, Texas designates the Muslim Brotherhood
0:35
Speaker 2: a terrorist organization and the President follows suit. It's the
0:40
Speaker 2: Weekend Review and it starts right now. There is a
0:44
Speaker 2: story that broke that is should make every American angry,
0:49
Speaker 2: and that is this story of the largest funder of
0:53
Speaker 2: Al Shabab turns out to be an Al Shabab is
0:57
Speaker 2: a tarist organization, a smalling terarist organation, is actually the
1:01
Speaker 2: Minnesota taxpayers. Now that may just seem like a weird
1:05
Speaker 2: headline to people, but what we're witnessing is tax hours
1:10
Speaker 2: funneling directly to the Islamic terrorist organization. And it's been
1:14
Speaker 2: going on at numbers that were clearly warning signs when
1:18
Speaker 2: Joe Biden was president in the amount of funds that
1:21
Speaker 2: were leaving Minnesota, and no one seemed about an eye
1:25
Speaker 2: or no one seemed to care that this was happening.
1:28
Speaker 2: Break it down for everybody that doesn't know anything about this.
1:32
Speaker 3: Well, this is a story that's really at the intersection
1:34
Speaker 3: of two issues that matter enormously. Number one is waste,
1:38
Speaker 3: fraud and abuse in government, and we see that at
1:40
Speaker 3: the federal government, we see that at the state level,
1:43
Speaker 3: particularly in big blue states. But secondly, the rise of
1:46
Speaker 3: radical Islam in America, and it's dangerous, it is threatening
1:49
Speaker 3: our liberty, and it is spreading. It's spreading often with
1:52
Speaker 3: the enthusiastic cheerleading of Democrat elected officials. This story is
1:57
Speaker 3: right at the intersection of both of them. And so
1:59
Speaker 3: the City Journal reported I'm just going to read a
2:02
Speaker 3: portion of this article because it really is. It's a
2:04
Speaker 3: stunning report, and it begins the largest funder of al
2:08
Speaker 3: Schebab is the Minnesota taxpayer. How some of the state's
2:11
Speaker 3: welfare funds ended up in the hands of a terror group.
2:15
Speaker 3: Minnesota is drowning and fraud. Billions in taxpayer dollars have
2:18
Speaker 3: been stolen during the administration of Governor Tim Waltz alone.
2:22
Speaker 3: Of course, Tim Waltz was Kamala Harris's nominee to BVP.
2:26
Speaker 3: Democrat state officials overseeing one of the most generous welfare
2:30
Speaker 3: regimes in the country are asleep at the switch, and
2:33
Speaker 3: the media, duty bound by progressive pietes, refused to connect
2:37
Speaker 3: the dots. In many cases, the fraud has allegedly been
2:40
Speaker 3: perpetrated by members of the Minnesota sizeable Somali community. Federal
2:45
Speaker 3: counter terrorism support sources confirm that millions of dollars millions
2:51
Speaker 3: in stolen funds had been sent back to Somalia, where
2:54
Speaker 3: they ultimately landed in the hands of the terror group
2:56
Speaker 3: Al Schebab. One confidential source put it quote, the largest
3:01
Speaker 3: funder of Al Shabab is the Minnesota taxpayer. Our investigation
3:05
Speaker 3: shows what happens when a tribal mindset meets a bleeding
3:08
Speaker 3: heart bureaucracy, When imported clan loyalties collide with a political
3:13
Speaker 3: class too timid to offend, and when accusations of racism
3:16
Speaker 3: are cynically deployed to shield criminal behavior. The predictable result
3:21
Speaker 3: is graft, with taxpayers left to foot the bill. If
3:25
Speaker 3: you were designed to design a welfare program to facilitate fraud,
3:28
Speaker 3: it would probably look a lot like Minnesota's Medicaid Housing
3:32
Speaker 3: Stabilization Services program. The HHS program, the first of its
3:35
Speaker 3: kind in the country, was launched with a noble goal
3:38
Speaker 3: to help seniors, addicts that disabled in the mentally ill
3:41
Speaker 3: secure housing. It was designed with quote low barriers to
3:45
Speaker 3: entry and quote minimal requirements for reimbursement. Nonetheless, before the
3:49
Speaker 3: program went live in twenty twenty, officials pegged its annual
3:52
Speaker 3: estimated price tag at two point six million dollars. Cost
3:56
Speaker 3: quickly spiraled out of control. In twenty twenty one, the
3:59
Speaker 3: program and paid out more than twenty one million dollars.
4:02
Speaker 3: By the way, it was projected to be two point
4:04
Speaker 3: six million. In the following year, annual cost shot up
4:07
Speaker 3: to forty two million, then seventy four million, then one
4:11
Speaker 3: hundred and four million. On August first, Minnesota's Department of
4:14
Speaker 3: Human Services moved to scrap the HHS program, noting that
4:18
Speaker 3: payment to seventy seven housing stabilization providers had terminated this
4:23
Speaker 3: year due to credible allegations of fraud. Joe Thompson, then
4:27
Speaker 3: the acting US Attorney for the District of Minnesota, when
4:30
Speaker 3: even further saying the vast majority, let me repeat that
4:33
Speaker 3: the vast majority of the HHS program was fraudulent. On
4:39
Speaker 3: September eighteenth, Thompson announced criminal indictments for HHS fraud against
4:43
Speaker 3: Maktar Hassan Aiden, Mustafa daib Byli, Khalid Ahmed daib Ab
4:49
Speaker 3: de Fita, Mohammed Mohammad, Christopher Adisoli Falad. By the way, Ben,
4:56
Speaker 3: you try to go through those names, yeah, I'm.
4:58
Speaker 1: Going to pass on that. Great job. I give you
5:00
Speaker 1: a B plus on that.
5:01
Speaker 3: Okay, six of whom, according to the US Attorney's Office,
5:05
Speaker 3: are members of Minnesota Somali community. Thompson made clear that
5:08
Speaker 3: this is the first round of charges for HSS fraud
5:12
Speaker 3: that his office will be prosecuting most of these cases.
5:15
Speaker 3: Unlike a lot of medicare fraud, medicaid fraud nationally aren't
5:18
Speaker 3: just over billing, Thompson said a press conference announcing the indicements.
5:22
Speaker 3: These are often just purely fictitious companies solely created to
5:27
Speaker 3: defraud the system. And that's unique in the extent to
5:31
Speaker 3: which we have that here in Minnesota. Thompson said. Many
5:33
Speaker 3: of the firms enrolled in the program operated out of
5:36
Speaker 3: dilapidated storefronts or run down office buildings. The perpetrators often
5:40
Speaker 3: targeted people recently released from rehab signed them up for
5:43
Speaker 3: Medicaid services they had no intention of providing. He noted
5:47
Speaker 3: many of the owners of companies engaged in HHS fraud
5:50
Speaker 3: had other companies through which they built other Medicaid programs,
5:53
Speaker 3: such as the EIDBI Autism Program, the Adult Rehabilitative Mental
5:59
Speaker 3: Health Services Program, the Integrated Community Services Program, the Community
6:03
Speaker 3: Access for Disability Inclusion Program PCA Services, and other Medicaid
6:08
Speaker 3: waivered services. What we see are schemes stacked upon schemes,
6:14
Speaker 3: draining resources meant for those most in needs. It feels
6:18
Speaker 3: never ending. I have spent my career as a fraud prosecutor,
6:22
Speaker 3: and the depth of the fraud in Minnesota takes my
6:25
Speaker 3: breath away.
6:27
Speaker 2: You read that and you just think about how much
6:30
Speaker 2: money this is that not only was stolen from the taxpayers,
6:34
Speaker 2: and they go into how much it kept growing and
6:37
Speaker 2: growing and growing these programs, but it's obvious that people
6:41
Speaker 2: knew there was fraud. Then you find out it's going
6:44
Speaker 2: to a terrorist organization, and so we're funding the terrorist organization.
6:49
Speaker 2: How the hell do people not go to jail for this?
6:52
Speaker 3: Well, they are a number of people are being prosecuted.
6:54
Speaker 3: But you know what is striking is not just was
6:57
Speaker 3: their massive fraud, but the massive fraud God was funding terrorism.
7:01
Speaker 3: Here's what the City Journal continues saying. Perhaps the most
7:04
Speaker 3: surprising aspect of the Somali fraud story is the scale,
7:07
Speaker 3: with total costs running into the billions of taxpayer dollars,
7:12
Speaker 3: that raises the question what happened to all that money?
7:16
Speaker 3: The Somali fraud rings have sent huge sums and remittances
7:20
Speaker 3: or money transfers from Minnesota to Somalia, according to reports,
7:24
Speaker 3: and estimated forty percent of households in Somalia get remittances
7:28
Speaker 3: from abroad. In twenty twenty three alone, the Somali diaspora
7:33
Speaker 3: sent back one point seven billion dollars, more than the
7:38
Speaker 3: Somali government's budget for that year. Our investigation reveals for
7:43
Speaker 3: the first time that some of this money has been
7:46
Speaker 3: directed to an even more troubling destination, the al Qaeda
7:49
Speaker 3: linked Islamic terror group Al Shabab. According to multiple law
7:54
Speaker 3: enforcement sources, Minnesota's Somali community has sent untold millions through
8:00
Speaker 3: a network of jualas informal clan based money traders that
8:05
Speaker 3: have wound up in the coffers of al Shabab. According
8:09
Speaker 3: to Glenn Kerns, a retired Seattle Police Department detective who
8:12
Speaker 3: spent fourteen years on a federal Joint terrorism task force,
8:16
Speaker 3: the Somalis ran a sophisticated money network spanning from Seattle
8:20
Speaker 3: to Minneapolis, and we're routing significant amounts of cash on
8:24
Speaker 3: commercial flights from the Seattle airport to the Huala networks
8:28
Speaker 3: in Somalia. One of these networks, Kerns discovered, sent twenty
8:32
Speaker 3: million dollars abroad in a single year. So this is
8:36
Speaker 3: money that's coming from the Minnesota taxpayers. It is going
8:40
Speaker 3: through the Somalia Somali community in Minnesota back to Somalia
8:45
Speaker 3: on the order of magnitude of one point seven billion
8:48
Speaker 3: dollars a year, and millions of those dollars were flowing
8:52
Speaker 3: directly to Al Shabab, an al Qaeda linked major terrorist organization.
8:56
Speaker 3: That this is tragic, it is shocking. And and by
9:00
Speaker 3: the way, I'm curious, have you seen it on CNN, No, NBCCBS.
9:05
Speaker 1: Nope, none of them, none of them touching it.
9:07
Speaker 3: MSNBC, no, Washington Post, New York Times, Nope, you would
9:11
Speaker 3: think that would be news.
9:12
Speaker 1: I also look at.
9:13
Speaker 2: The amount of money and how quickly it grew. That's
9:16
Speaker 2: something else that I do think is interesting. Here is
9:19
Speaker 2: how I mean you want to talk about warning signs center,
9:23
Speaker 2: there was clear warning signs, like very very clear warning
9:29
Speaker 2: signs that this was happening, and and yet no one
9:35
Speaker 2: in government seemed to stop, pause or ask a question.
9:39
Speaker 2: That part, also to me is just like is it
9:43
Speaker 2: always unlimited funds?
9:44
Speaker 1: Is that how it's now? In government? And whatever?
9:46
Speaker 2: You start just keep making it grow and double and
9:49
Speaker 2: triple in size year after year after year, and spending
9:52
Speaker 2: and and no one's like, hold on a second, this
9:54
Speaker 2: doesn't add up this many kids with autism that doesn't
9:57
Speaker 2: seem normal. Well, how much it went doubled from last
9:59
Speaker 2: year the year before the year before that. I mean,
10:01
Speaker 2: there's a clear line here of like red flags that
10:05
Speaker 2: no one seemed to care about.
10:06
Speaker 3: Well, and it's worth remembering Tim Waltz is not someone
10:09
Speaker 3: at the fringe of the Democrat Party. Tim Waltz is
10:12
Speaker 3: who Kamala Harris thought should be Vice President of the
10:14
Speaker 3: United States. Presumably Kamala thought that she should he should
10:18
Speaker 3: succeed her and become the president of the United States.
10:22
Speaker 3: And Tim Waltz like many Democrats, but what but Waltz's
10:26
Speaker 3: is worse than many of them. Just look the other way,
10:28
Speaker 3: just turned a blind eye. And one combination. It's a
10:32
Speaker 3: combination of a number of factors. One piece of it
10:34
Speaker 3: is just the left wing view that the more money
10:37
Speaker 3: you're giving away in welfare the better. And so it
10:40
Speaker 3: doesn't matter how much it grows. If you're giving a
10:43
Speaker 3: million dollars this year, they wanted to be two million,
10:45
Speaker 3: then four, then six, then eight and twelve. They want
10:48
Speaker 3: it to grow without any any consideration about number one,
10:52
Speaker 3: bankrupting the state and the taxpayers, but number two about
10:56
Speaker 3: the impact of spending all that money trapping people independency.
11:00
Speaker 3: But a second component of it, it's not just dependency.
11:03
Speaker 3: Dependency assumes someone's actually getting well for payments. It is
11:07
Speaker 3: also bleatant fraud. And there is unfortunately a network of
11:12
Speaker 3: corruption where many of those engage in fraud are also
11:16
Speaker 3: writing checks to elect Democrats. And if you look at
11:20
Speaker 3: the Somali community in Minnesota, it is a major voting
11:23
Speaker 3: network that votes for Democrats in Minnesota, and so at
11:27
Speaker 3: the end of the day, the Democrats, when it comes
11:29
Speaker 3: to buying votes, shoveling this cash into this maw of fraud,
11:35
Speaker 3: even though the taxpayers were being robbed and the money
11:38
Speaker 3: was going to a radical Islamic terrorist organization. If you're
11:42
Speaker 3: a Democrat, it made political sense on some level because
11:46
Speaker 3: you got money and you got votes. And it is
11:49
Speaker 3: astonishing that there's not do you know of a single
11:52
Speaker 3: Democrat denouncing this. No, I mean that's a striking thing.
11:57
Speaker 2: Now, if you want to hear the rest of this conversation,
11:59
Speaker 2: you can go back and listen to the full podcast
12:02
Speaker 2: from earlier this week. Now onto story number two center.
12:07
Speaker 2: Finally on the show, let's deal with a major problem.
12:11
Speaker 1: It's huge.
12:13
Speaker 2: A university is now warning of a quote unquote whiteness pandemic.
12:19
Speaker 2: Not a problem, but a pandemic, a whiteness pandemic. This
12:23
Speaker 2: is coming from the University of Minnesota. I'll let you
12:27
Speaker 2: take it from there.
12:29
Speaker 3: Yeah, I got to say this is going to piss
12:30
Speaker 3: you off. Are you white?
12:33
Speaker 1: Then?
12:33
Speaker 3: Apparently you are an evil, noxious scourge on America. You
12:37
Speaker 3: are a pandemic, You are a virus, you are a disease,
12:40
Speaker 3: and woke leftists are going to re educate the whiteness
12:43
Speaker 3: right out of you. Like I wish I were making
12:46
Speaker 3: this up. Like when I say these words, you sound
12:51
Speaker 3: like a lunatic. You sound like you're wearing like a
12:53
Speaker 3: tinfoil hat, and you believe in conspiracy theories. But I
12:57
Speaker 3: want to read to you from a website from the
13:00
Speaker 3: University of Minnesota, by the way, the state website. This
13:03
Speaker 3: is all right. Here's what the website says. Quote. What
13:08
Speaker 3: is the whiteness pandemic? Racism is an epidemic that can
13:13
Speaker 3: also be considered a pandemic given its large cross national
13:16
Speaker 3: proportion and spread. However, there is another pandemic lurking behind
13:21
Speaker 3: and driving the racist pandemic, the whiteness pandemic. Whiteness refers
13:27
Speaker 3: to culture, not biology. The centuries old culture of whiteness
13:31
Speaker 3: features color blindness, in other words, not being a racist.
13:34
Speaker 3: That is the whiteness pandemic. Passivity, and white fragility were
13:40
Speaker 3: all covert expressions of racism common in the United States.
13:44
Speaker 3: Naming the whiteness pandemic shifts our gaze from the victims
13:47
Speaker 3: and effects of racism onto the systems that perpetrate and
13:51
Speaker 3: perpetuate racism. Starting with the family system. In other words,
13:55
Speaker 3: families are racist. If you believe in families, if you
13:58
Speaker 3: believe in a mom and dad raising kids, loving kids.
14:01
Speaker 3: That is, the family system is part of the whiteness pandemic.
14:06
Speaker 3: At birth, young children growing up in white families begin
14:10
Speaker 3: to be socialized into the culture of whiteness, making the
14:14
Speaker 3: family system one of the most powerful systems involved in
14:18
Speaker 3: systemic racism. That this is open. We hate families is
14:22
Speaker 3: what the University of Minnesota is saying. And okay, what's
14:26
Speaker 3: the next section? Quote? How do we halt and reverse
14:31
Speaker 3: the whiteness pandemic? If you were born and raised in
14:35
Speaker 3: the United States, you have grown up in the whiteness pandemic,
14:39
Speaker 3: and you can play a role in halting or reversing
14:41
Speaker 3: this pandemic, especially if you are white, because of the
14:45
Speaker 3: power and privilege you hold in this racialized society. If
14:49
Speaker 3: you were socialized into the culture of whiteness during your childhood,
14:53
Speaker 3: it is not your fault, but as an adult, it
14:55
Speaker 3: is now your responsibility to self reflect, to re edge
15:00
Speaker 3: kate yourself and act. If you are a white adult,
15:05
Speaker 3: anti racist action involves an ongoing process of self reflection
15:09
Speaker 3: in order to develop a healthy, positive white identity while
15:13
Speaker 3: encouraging courageous anti racist parenting slash caregiving. What utter and
15:21
Speaker 3: complete garbage, what racist leftist communist drek. And this is
15:27
Speaker 3: the University of Minnesota. By the way, Look, there are
15:30
Speaker 3: like great people in Minnesota, They're great people in every state,
15:34
Speaker 3: and yet these people are racist radicals. And this is
15:39
Speaker 3: what they're indoctrinating our children with.
15:42
Speaker 2: Not only the indoctrinary children, but this is where a
15:44
Speaker 2: lot of our dollars are tax hours go, which is
15:47
Speaker 2: the other frustrating part that this is what they're indoctrinating
15:49
Speaker 2: them with.
15:51
Speaker 3: Undoubtedly. And by the way, our podcast on Monday, so
15:55
Speaker 3: we do this podcast three days a week, Monday, Wednesday,
15:57
Speaker 3: and Friday. Our podcast on Monday talked about what is
16:02
Speaker 3: the number one funder of Al Chebab, the Radical Islamics
16:11
Speaker 3: terrorist group, And the answer, terrifyingly enough, is the taxpayers
16:15
Speaker 3: of the state of Minnesota. So in Minnesota has a
16:18
Speaker 3: huge Somali community. Somalis have invaded the state of Minnesota's
16:23
Speaker 3: how you elect Ilhan Omar who actively is anti American
16:28
Speaker 3: racist radical, embraces and supports radical Islamic terrorists, and the
16:35
Speaker 3: Somali community sends billions every year back to Somalia, and
16:42
Speaker 3: millions of that money sent back ends up directly in
16:46
Speaker 3: the pockets in the coffers of al Shabab, and it
16:49
Speaker 3: is the Minnesota state taxpayers. So we detailed this on Monday,
16:54
Speaker 3: how welfare fraud, fraudulent collection of welfare payments, an entire
17:02
Speaker 3: welfare system set up seemingly on the face of it
17:06
Speaker 3: to encourage fraud, to facilitate fraud, is resulting in Minnesota
17:10
Speaker 3: taxpayers sending millions of dollars to radical Islamic terrorists. This
17:15
Speaker 3: is the same ideology, like what do you do if
17:22
Speaker 3: you happen to be a white kid at the University
17:24
Speaker 3: of Minnesota. You show up and be told by the way,
17:28
Speaker 3: you're just you know, you're seventeen, eighteen year old kid.
17:31
Speaker 3: You show up as a freshman, and if you're white,
17:34
Speaker 3: you're told you're a pandemic, you're a virus. And the
17:38
Speaker 3: only answer is re educate yourself because who you are,
17:43
Speaker 3: who America is. And understand this screed against quote anti
17:47
Speaker 3: whiteness is also a screed against America. That these Marxists
17:52
Speaker 3: hate the United States of America, They hate the Constitution,
17:55
Speaker 3: they hate our freedoms. And this garbage that is anti racism,
17:59
Speaker 3: this garbage that is DEI, this garbage that says we
18:03
Speaker 3: must institutionalize, by the way, the fix for the anti
18:07
Speaker 3: for the whiteness pandemic is to discriminate against anyone who
18:11
Speaker 3: is white, is to institutionalize racism. And that is grotesque,
18:15
Speaker 3: it is wrong. It is contrary to the fourteenth Amendment
18:19
Speaker 3: of the Constitution, which protects provides the equal protection of
18:23
Speaker 3: the law to all people are regardless of race. It
18:26
Speaker 3: is contrary to the founding notions of this country. The
18:29
Speaker 3: Declaration said, we hold these truths to be self evident,
18:33
Speaker 3: that all men are created equal, not some, not just
18:37
Speaker 3: white people, not just black people, not anyone. All men
18:40
Speaker 3: and all women are created equal, That they are endowed
18:42
Speaker 3: by their creator with certain unvailable rights, that among them
18:45
Speaker 3: are life liberty in the pursuit of happiness. That's what
18:48
Speaker 3: this country was built on. And these Marxists who have
18:51
Speaker 3: taken over our institutions hate that notion, and this kind
18:56
Speaker 3: of garbage is being spewed to our children and being
18:59
Speaker 3: used to brainwash our children at a massive rate.
19:04
Speaker 2: I tell this all the time to parents when they
19:05
Speaker 2: ask be careful where you send your kids to college,
19:08
Speaker 2: because they could be indoctrinated to literally hate this country.
19:12
Speaker 1: This is another exam.
19:13
Speaker 3: And to hate you exactly, to hate their mom and dada.
19:16
Speaker 3: But by the way, what I just read the family system,
19:20
Speaker 3: they are attacking families. They're telling your kids family is evil.
19:25
Speaker 3: That's what Marxists believe.
19:28
Speaker 1: As before.
19:29
Speaker 2: If you want to hear the rest of this conversation
19:31
Speaker 2: on this topic, you can go back and dow the
19:34
Speaker 2: podcast from earlier this week to hear the entire thing.
19:37
Speaker 2: I want to get back to the big story number
19:40
Speaker 2: three of the week.
19:40
Speaker 1: You may have missed.
19:42
Speaker 2: This is something that you've been talking about for a while. Yea,
19:45
Speaker 2: designating the Muslim Brotherhood is a terrorist organization and Texas
19:49
Speaker 2: is now taking a big step. I think this is
19:51
Speaker 2: going to be a great example for the rest of
19:53
Speaker 2: the country and talk about how big of a victory
19:56
Speaker 2: this is in Texas leading the way.
19:58
Speaker 3: Well, it's a big victory. Let me tell you about
19:59
Speaker 3: what Texas did and I'm going to take it more
20:02
Speaker 3: broadly into the national fight over designating the Muslim Brotherhood.
20:05
Speaker 3: So Texas this week declared care and the Muslim Brotherhood
20:08
Speaker 3: is terrorist groups preventing land purchases. Let me read from
20:11
Speaker 3: Fox News. Texas Governor Greg Abbott designated the Council on
20:15
Speaker 3: American Islamic Relations CARE and the Muslim Brotherhood as foreign
20:19
Speaker 3: terrorist and transnational criminal organizations Tuesday, preventing both groups from
20:25
Speaker 3: obtaining land in the Lone Star state. Abbot said the
20:29
Speaker 3: statement that he made the move as quote, the Muslim
20:31
Speaker 3: Brotherhood and CARE have long made their goals clear to
20:35
Speaker 3: forcibly impose Sharia law and establish Islam's mastership of the world.
20:41
Speaker 3: The actions taken by the Muslim Brotherhood and CARE to
20:43
Speaker 3: support terrorism across the globe and subvert our laws through violence, intimidation,
20:47
Speaker 3: and harassment are unacceptable. Today I designated the Muslim Brotherhood
20:53
Speaker 3: in CARE as foreign terrorist organizations and transnational criminal organizations.
20:58
Speaker 3: These radical extremists are not welcome in our state and
21:01
Speaker 3: are now prohibited from acquiring any real property interest in Texas.
21:06
Speaker 3: A proclamation signed by Abbot claims that CARE quote is
21:09
Speaker 3: an Islamist organization that, according to the FBI, was founded
21:13
Speaker 3: as a front group for HAMAS and its support network
21:17
Speaker 3: in the United States. It added that quote CARE and
21:21
Speaker 3: its members have repeatedly employed, affiliated with and supported individuals
21:25
Speaker 3: promoting terrorism related activities, including Gasan Elashi, a founding member
21:32
Speaker 3: of the Texas Branch for Care and treasurer of the
21:34
Speaker 3: Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development charity quote, who
21:38
Speaker 3: was sentenced to a total of sixty five years in
21:41
Speaker 3: prison for financing terrorism in two thousand and nine. The
21:45
Speaker 3: proclamation also states that Hamas was quote formed in nineteen
21:49
Speaker 3: eighty seven as the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood,
21:52
Speaker 3: and that activities of the Muslim Brotherhood branches have similarly
21:55
Speaker 3: been eliminated or prohibited by the governments of Austria, by
21:59
Speaker 3: b K, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab
22:02
Speaker 3: Emirates in light of the Muslim Brotherhood encouraging terrorism or
22:06
Speaker 3: attempting to destabilize these countries. Look, this is real leadership
22:11
Speaker 3: from the State of Texas. It is what the federal
22:13
Speaker 3: government should be doing. The Muslim Brotherhood, I believe, is
22:16
Speaker 3: unquestionably a terrorist organization, and we have yet to designate them,
22:21
Speaker 3: as Governor Abbott noted, many other countries on Earth have,
22:24
Speaker 3: and I believe the United States during the Trump administration
22:27
Speaker 3: we're going to do this. I've introduced legislation literally for
22:30
Speaker 3: ten years to make this happen at a federal level.
22:32
Speaker 2: So what has been the hold up there? For people
22:34
Speaker 2: that are new to this subject we talked about before.
22:36
Speaker 2: Maybe they missed an episode. How the hell is it
22:38
Speaker 2: so hard to get the Muslim Brotherhood to be declared
22:42
Speaker 2: to terrorist organization through the US government?
22:44
Speaker 1: What is the hold up? Yeah? You mentioned this is
22:46
Speaker 1: like a decades long fight.
22:47
Speaker 3: Now, so for five consecutive congresses, I've introduced legislation designate
22:52
Speaker 3: the Muslim Brotherhood. The hold up, We got very close
22:55
Speaker 3: during the first Trump administration. I thought we were going
22:57
Speaker 3: to get it done during the first Trump administration. The
23:00
Speaker 3: resistance was from the deep state at the State Department,
23:04
Speaker 3: the career bureaucrats there. And I'll tell you the old
23:07
Speaker 3: versions of the legislation. The way I wrote it, it
23:10
Speaker 3: was top down. What does that mean? It directed the
23:12
Speaker 3: State Department to designate the Global Muslim Brotherhood, which is
23:16
Speaker 3: the big umbrella organization's a terrorist organization. Here's the argument
23:20
Speaker 3: the career employees a State made. They said, look, there
23:23
Speaker 3: are lots of different affiliates of the Muslim Brotherhood. We
23:26
Speaker 3: cannot definitively prove that every one of the affiliates meets
23:29
Speaker 3: the statutory criteria for being a terrorist organization. That's how
23:33
Speaker 3: they stopped it from happening in Trump one. So in
23:37
Speaker 3: Trump two, I rewrote the legislation and instead of being
23:40
Speaker 3: bottom down or top down, I rewrote it to be
23:43
Speaker 3: bottom up. And so what the legislation currently says is
23:47
Speaker 3: it says that the State Department should designate every one
23:51
Speaker 3: of the Muslim Brotherhood affiliates for which the evidence is
23:54
Speaker 3: clear and unequivocal as terrorist organizations. For example, Hamas Hamas
24:00
Speaker 3: the Muslim Brotherhood in Palestine. It is indisputable that Hamas
24:03
Speaker 3: is a terrorist organization. They carried out October seventh, murdered
24:07
Speaker 3: twelve hundred Israelis, raped and murdered women and little girls.
24:11
Speaker 3: Hamas is unquestionably a terrorist organization. That's true of multiple
24:15
Speaker 3: Muslim Brotherhood affiliates. What my new legislation said is designate
24:19
Speaker 3: those affiliates, and then it directs the State Department to
24:23
Speaker 3: designate the Global Muslim Brotherhood because it gives money to
24:26
Speaker 3: those affiliates, and so designate the umbrella Organization for material
24:31
Speaker 3: support of for giving money to unquestionable terrorist organizations. Now
24:37
Speaker 3: part of the reason I think we're going to get
24:38
Speaker 3: this done is that chain of reasoning. There's not a
24:41
Speaker 3: step in that reasoning that is assailable. The deep state
24:45
Speaker 3: can't fight that.
24:46
Speaker 1: Yeah, but at.
24:47
Speaker 3: The end of the day, let me tell you this
24:49
Speaker 3: is not going to be a fight. I think that
24:51
Speaker 3: is won legislatively. So I've introduced the legislation. I tried
24:55
Speaker 3: very very hard in this Congress to get a Democrat
24:57
Speaker 3: to support me. I will tell you I talked to
25:00
Speaker 3: numerous Democrats. They said no, they said no. Look, the
25:03
Speaker 3: Democrat Party is very afraid, unfortunately, of disturbing the pro
25:09
Speaker 3: Hamas wing of their party in the House. The companion
25:14
Speaker 3: legislation of my legislation has four Democrats on board, so
25:17
Speaker 3: we do have some Democrat support. I was able to
25:20
Speaker 3: get one Democrat, so John Fetterman is supporting me. So
25:22
Speaker 3: the legislation is Cruz Fetterman. It is bipartisan.
25:26
Speaker 2: By the way, can we just pause there and just
25:27
Speaker 2: talk about how cool that is.
25:29
Speaker 1: The more that.
25:31
Speaker 2: We have interacted, that you've interacted with John, the more
25:33
Speaker 2: respect I really do have for him as a Democrat,
25:35
Speaker 2: the way he stood up to his party on the shutdown. Look,
25:38
Speaker 2: there are some places where you don't win races. I
25:42
Speaker 2: never thought I would say I am thankful for John
25:44
Speaker 2: Fetterman and his leadership in the Senate when he.
25:47
Speaker 1: Was first elected.
25:48
Speaker 2: I got to tell you, he may be the biggest
25:50
Speaker 2: surprise in the last decade for me of a true
25:54
Speaker 2: Democrat statesman that is willing to come to the table
25:59
Speaker 2: on saane issues like the government shutdown or like this.
26:03
Speaker 2: And I think when this happens, we as conservatives should
26:06
Speaker 2: take that moment and say job well done to Senator Fetterman.
26:09
Speaker 2: I'm really impressed because there's a lot of issues.
26:12
Speaker 1: He says.
26:12
Speaker 2: Politics are a side. I don't care the heat I'm
26:14
Speaker 2: going to get from my party for this. I'm gonna
26:16
Speaker 2: do the right thing. We used to have a lot
26:18
Speaker 2: more of that in politics.
26:20
Speaker 3: Yeah, it used to be much more commonplace. When I
26:23
Speaker 3: showed up in the Senate thirteen years ago, there was
26:26
Speaker 3: such a thing as moderate Democrats. They largely don't exist. Actually,
26:31
Speaker 3: someone before that was Kirson Cinema. Kierson Cinema was elected
26:35
Speaker 3: from Arizona. When she came in, there was not a
26:38
Speaker 3: whole lot of reason to believe she would be a moderate.
26:40
Speaker 3: And I will say, Kirsten, I really like Kirsten, she
26:43
Speaker 3: stood up to her party. She demonstrated real courage, and
26:46
Speaker 3: you know what happened. The Democrats chased her out of
26:48
Speaker 3: the party. Both Cinema and Joe Manchin, who were the
26:50
Speaker 3: only two Democrats who said no to eliminating the filibuster,
26:54
Speaker 3: the Democrats chased both of them out of the party.
26:56
Speaker 3: They said, we don't want any dissent. You must obey
26:59
Speaker 3: the dictates to the radical left. Well, John Fetterman got elected,
27:03
Speaker 3: and listen, you and I both did not support him
27:07
Speaker 3: when he was running for the Senate. To begin with,
27:09
Speaker 3: he was a Democrat and his prior record as Lieutenant
27:13
Speaker 3: governor of Pennsylvania gave little reason to think that he
27:16
Speaker 3: would be anything other than a left wing Democrat. That's
27:19
Speaker 3: certainly what I anticipated. He has astonished me. I like
27:23
Speaker 3: John personally. He obviously during the campaign suffered a stroke.
27:28
Speaker 3: He had had serious medical issues. It was very difficult.
27:32
Speaker 3: His mind could not process the spoken words. So when
27:35
Speaker 3: he was newly elected, you would talk to him, but
27:38
Speaker 3: he would carry around an iPad that translated the words
27:42
Speaker 3: that are being said into texts, and he would have
27:44
Speaker 3: to read the iPad because it was just one of
27:46
Speaker 3: the consequences of the stroke that when you talk to him,
27:49
Speaker 3: his brain was operating, but the input of the oral
27:53
Speaker 3: spoken word did not make it through. I will say
27:57
Speaker 3: his health has improved significantly. He's now able to have
28:00
Speaker 3: a conversation and engage. So the aftermath of the stroke
28:04
Speaker 3: thankfully has gotten better. But Fetterman has shown real courage
28:08
Speaker 3: and standing up to his party on the shutdown. He
28:11
Speaker 3: stood up to Schumer and said this shutdown is stupid.
28:13
Speaker 3: We need to end the shutdown. And on Israel, the
28:16
Speaker 3: level of courage he has shown by saying the Prohamas
28:19
Speaker 3: wing of our party is wrong. It is terrible, and
28:22
Speaker 3: I John Fetterman, are proud to stand with Israel. It's
28:25
Speaker 3: been heroic. And I got to say he's been demonized
28:28
Speaker 3: by his own party, the Democrats.
28:32
Speaker 1: They treat him terribly.
28:33
Speaker 3: The Republicans of the Senate treated much better than the
28:35
Speaker 3: Democrats do.
28:36
Speaker 1: Well and not only demonize him. This goes back to
28:38
Speaker 1: his civility.
28:39
Speaker 2: He had a fall this past week and Democrats were
28:43
Speaker 2: cheering his fall before we even knew like his health. Now,
28:47
Speaker 2: he put up a picture of himself. I was glad
28:49
Speaker 2: to see he's gonna be okay. But like, it just
28:51
Speaker 2: tells you about how much if you don't get in
28:53
Speaker 2: line with the Democratic Party. It didn't matter if you
28:55
Speaker 2: names Fetterman or Schumer at this point or Nancy Pelosi like,
28:59
Speaker 2: it is off with your heads and Democratic Party as
29:02
Speaker 2: a leadership perspective from them, they are done with you
29:05
Speaker 2: if you are not going to extreme left on every issue.
29:09
Speaker 3: So Bennett's worse than that. When Fetterman newly arrived in
29:12
Speaker 3: the Senate, the Democrats all assumed he would just be
29:15
Speaker 3: a left wing reliable vote, and so you had all
29:17
Speaker 3: the Democrats putting out statement, He's fine, his health is
29:20
Speaker 3: not a problem. And as I said, the stroke had
29:22
Speaker 3: very real and limiting effects on him. I mean it
29:25
Speaker 3: was significant, but every Democrat defended him. And then as
29:30
Speaker 3: his health started to get better, Yep, he was willing
29:33
Speaker 3: to buck the Democrats. And if you disagree with the
29:36
Speaker 3: Democrat party line on even one issue, but especially on
29:39
Speaker 3: an issue like the current Democrat party's embrace of Hamas
29:43
Speaker 3: and their anti Israel animis, they turned on him viciously.
29:48
Speaker 3: And I got to tell you there have been dozens
29:50
Speaker 3: of articles written with quotes from Democrat senators, Democrat staffers
29:55
Speaker 3: just doing everything they could to shive him, to say,
29:59
Speaker 3: to to actually attack his mental capability and say, oh,
30:02
Speaker 3: he's not able to do the job. The irony is
30:06
Speaker 3: they attacked him once he had improved significantly, was recovering.
30:09
Speaker 3: But yet, in their view, the unforgivable sin was daring
30:14
Speaker 3: to deviate from what every other Democrat was saying. And
30:18
Speaker 3: I view Fetterment as the exception that proves the rule.
30:22
Speaker 3: That being said, this legislation to designates the Muslim Brotherhood
30:26
Speaker 3: at the national level at Cruz Fetterment to pass, we
30:30
Speaker 3: would need sixty Senators. That would mean we would need
30:33
Speaker 3: at least seven Democrats. I have no indication that seven
30:37
Speaker 3: Democrats are likely to support this. I'm going to try.
30:40
Speaker 3: I'm going to keep pressing it. We'll see, we'll put
30:42
Speaker 3: it for a vote. I would love to have that
30:45
Speaker 3: bipartisan support, but as of now, I've not been able
30:49
Speaker 3: to get any other Democrats urging it.
30:51
Speaker 2: I mean, when you were in for Senate, you know,
30:53
Speaker 2: several years ago, did you ever think you would govern
30:58
Speaker 2: in a body work with a group people. You can't
31:00
Speaker 2: even get agreement on a designating a terrorist organization a
31:04
Speaker 2: terrorist organization?
31:06
Speaker 3: Oh look, partisan politics has always been part of Washington.
31:10
Speaker 3: That being said, it's gotten much much worse. And actually
31:14
Speaker 3: President Trump. When President Trump got elected in twenty sixteen,
31:18
Speaker 3: it broke the heads of the Democrats. Their minds are melted.
31:21
Speaker 3: They just hate him, and so there's much less middle ground.
31:25
Speaker 3: But anyway, my strategy on the Muslim Brotherhood legislation is
31:29
Speaker 3: not necessarily to pass it through Congress. So though I'd
31:31
Speaker 3: love to, I'm going to continue trying to pass it
31:33
Speaker 3: through Congress, but it is instead to build the public
31:37
Speaker 3: case for this so that the Trump administration does so unilaterally.
31:41
Speaker 3: They have the authority to do so. There's noiceput it.
31:43
Speaker 3: As I said in Trump One, we almost got it done,
31:46
Speaker 3: and I believe that President Trump will do so. I
31:49
Speaker 3: think he'll do so probably in the next year. I
31:53
Speaker 3: was in the White House just a couple of weeks ago.
31:55
Speaker 3: I talked with the President directly about designating the Muslim Brotherhood.
32:00
Speaker 3: I have met with Seb Gorka, who is the senior
32:03
Speaker 3: official in the National Security Council who's handling this issue.
32:06
Speaker 3: As I've talked with Seb about it, I believe the
32:09
Speaker 3: Trump administration will do it this time. I think the
32:11
Speaker 3: fact that we redesigned it to be bottom up is
32:14
Speaker 3: going to make it much harder for the deep state
32:16
Speaker 3: to oppose it. And I want to commend Greg Abbott
32:19
Speaker 3: in the state of Texas because Texas is designating the
32:22
Speaker 3: Muslim Brotherhood and Care as well, really helps for building
32:26
Speaker 3: the momentum. The whole purpose of the legislative push is
32:29
Speaker 3: to build the momentum to pride the air cover for
32:33
Speaker 3: the Trump administration to do so, and I think that's
32:35
Speaker 3: going to happen all right.
32:37
Speaker 2: I also want to bring up CARE, and this is
32:39
Speaker 2: another aspect of this legislation in Texas. Make it clear
32:45
Speaker 2: it's not just the Muslim Brotherhood, it's also Care. This
32:48
Speaker 2: one's a little bit more of a complicated organization. Break
32:51
Speaker 2: that down why they're also getting on the list.
32:53
Speaker 3: Yeah, it's not actually that complicated. I mean Care is
32:56
Speaker 3: a domestic organization. They had previously been implicated in supporting Moss,
33:00
Speaker 3: supporting other terrorist organization. Let me read a story from
33:04
Speaker 3: the New York Post. It's entitled Muslim group Care cutting
33:07
Speaker 3: one thousand dollars checks for anti Israel agitators who have
33:11
Speaker 3: been disciplined by colleges. And here's what The New York
33:13
Speaker 3: Post reported anti Israel agitators who spread disruption at US
33:17
Speaker 3: colleges and were punished by authorities were awarded checks for
33:22
Speaker 3: one thousand dollars by a Muslim nonprofit. The Post has
33:25
Speaker 3: learned the money was given to students who faced penalties
33:28
Speaker 3: for leading pro Palestinian protests before and after the Hamas
33:32
Speaker 3: attack on Israel on October seventh, twenty twenty three. According
33:35
Speaker 3: to a bombshell report by the Network, Intagent Research Institute
33:39
Speaker 3: and the Intelligent Advocacy Network, the cash was awarded from
33:43
Speaker 3: a Quote Champions of Justice fund set up by a
33:46
Speaker 3: California chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations CARE
33:51
Speaker 3: as an institutional endorsement. The report claims in California, the
33:56
Speaker 3: largest arm of the CARE web of nonprofits affiliates in
33:59
Speaker 3: San Francis on Los Angeles raised more than one hundred
34:02
Speaker 3: thousand dollars in donations for the campus radicals, while the
34:07
Speaker 3: main group solicited sixty four thousand dollars in red donations.
34:11
Speaker 3: Record show the money was then offered as interest free
34:15
Speaker 3: loans and grants of one thousand dollars to students who
34:18
Speaker 3: lost scholarships, housing or other support because of their advocacy.
34:22
Speaker 3: According to carer's website, this is you have care. Literally,
34:26
Speaker 3: you want to know why you had anti Semitic protests
34:28
Speaker 3: on college campuses. I've been saying from the beginning, follow
34:32
Speaker 3: the money. There's learning money behind me.
34:34
Speaker 1: Follow the money.
34:36
Speaker 3: The tents all matched, and it's because this is being
34:39
Speaker 3: funded and this is being funded by Islamist this is
34:42
Speaker 3: being funded by communists, this is being funded by foreign nations,
34:45
Speaker 3: this is being funded by left wing billionaire donors who
34:50
Speaker 3: frankly want to undermine America. And so Texas designating care
34:53
Speaker 3: as well, that's a big step forward.
34:56
Speaker 2: Also, as always, thank you for listening to Verdict with Sentner,
35:00
Speaker 2: Ted Cruz, Ben Ferguson with you don't forget to deal
35:03

Speaker 2: have you as a listener to again the Ben Ferguson
35:12
Speaker 2: podcasts and we will see you back here on Monday morning.
