- 0:02SPEAKER_00: Hello, everyone.
- 0:03SPEAKER_00: Welcome back to another great episode of Truth Be Told.
- 0:06SPEAKER_00: My name is Mickey.
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: I'm your host today, and joining me is my co-host Bethany.
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: And we are going to dive back in to talking about the Word of God.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: And that's what Truth Be Told is all about.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: We are a platform, basically, a um a podcast where we like to open up the Word of God and just share what it says in the Bible.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: So I encourage you today, if you don't have a Bible, get your Bible, get it out, and have it in your hands, be ready to go.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: And follow along with us.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: Bethany and I always like to make sure that we let you know that we like to take all of our information from the Word of God.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: This isn't our information.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: This isn't Google information.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: This isn't like AI searching.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: This is actual biblical, truthful information from the inspired word of God.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: Bethany and I also both like to use the King James Bible.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: We have our own personal um reasons for that, which one of these days we'll get into a topic on discussing different types of Bibles.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: But if you don't have a King James Bible, that's okay.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: Just get the Bible out, read it along with us, and just follow along.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: And if you have questions, you know, make sure you just put them in the notes and give back to us.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: But today we're going to continue on with a topic that we just we started discussing.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: This is going to be part two.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: And um, we are talking about forgiveness and why it's so important.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: So the topic of our conversation today is why forgiveness.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: And I'm going to say hello to Bethany and let her come on in and let her recap what we talked about last week, and then we will um dive right in and start um opening up the word and let's just get into it.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: Bethany, how are you doing today?
- 1:45SPEAKER_02: Wonderful.
- 1:46SPEAKER_02: Great to be here.
- 1:47SPEAKER_02: Yes, um, for a recap of previous episode of part one, we talked about why we need forgiveness, and I believe it's so important that we understand why.
- 2:12SPEAKER_02: There's so many topics that we need to understand the why of them, and forgiveness is as important or maybe even more important than other topics, and so why we need forgiveness, and we went back to Genesis, Genesis chapter three, and verse six specifically, before that time there was no need for forgiveness because Adam had not done anything wrong, and so he there was no need for God to forgive him, and yet once Genesis 3.6 occurred, then there was that need, and so in today's episode, we're gonna continue to talk about why forgiveness and we're going to talk about why we need to forgive each other.
- 3:41SPEAKER_02: What is the importance of doing that?
- 3:47SPEAKER_02: And so I'm looking forward to discussing that.
- 3:52SPEAKER_02: And um so Mickey, would you like me to pray and then we can get started?
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: Yes, that'd be great.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 4:04SPEAKER_02: All right, let's go on and pray, dear Lord.
- 4:08SPEAKER_02: I thank you once again for this time.
- 4:14SPEAKER_02: We have to discuss this very important topic of why we need forgiveness, what is so important about it, and in this episode specifically why it's important for us to forgive each other.
- 4:42SPEAKER_02: What does the Bible say about that?
- 4:44SPEAKER_02: And so I pray, Lord, that you would speak through, Mickey and I.
- 4:50SPEAKER_02: But it's not of ourselves that we do this, it's because you've given each of us a mission, I believe, to speak truth, speak your truth, encourage people.
- 5:13SPEAKER_02: And so I pray that you take this time and use it for your honor and glory and speak to those who watch and listen to this, however, they need what we have to share.
- 5:31SPEAKER_02: So we thank you for it in Jesus' name.
- 5:34SPEAKER_02: Amen.
- 5:35SPEAKER_02: Amen.
- 5:38SPEAKER_02: And so now we're going to look at some scripture here.
- 5:47SPEAKER_02: And like I mentioned, we're going to discuss why it's important for everyone to forgive others.
- 6:07SPEAKER_02: Why, you know, maybe you think, well, it's no big deal.
- 6:16SPEAKER_02: Well, let's see what the Bible says.
- 6:20SPEAKER_02: And so to start, we're going to start in Matthew chapter six.
- 6:28SPEAKER_02: And Matthew chapter six is in the middle of what is commonly referred to as the Sermon on the Mount when Jesus was teaching um those who were there at that time.
- 6:49SPEAKER_02: Um, very detailed, very um worthy of our learning, if that makes sense.
- 7:04SPEAKER_02: And so Matthew chapter 6, verses 14 and 15 are the two verses I want to focus on.
- 7:16SPEAKER_02: And they are in the midst of when Jesus is teaching on various things.
- 7:26SPEAKER_02: And so I will read verses 14 and 15.
- 7:36SPEAKER_02: Verse 14.
- 7:40SPEAKER_02: For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly father will also forgive you.
- 7:49SPEAKER_02: And then verse 15.
- 7:51SPEAKER_02: But if ye forgive men, if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your father forgive you, forgive your trespasses.
- 8:12SPEAKER_02: I don't think you can get much more plain, much more clear than that.
- 8:27SPEAKER_02: Why is it important to forgive one another?
- 8:33SPEAKER_02: Because if we don't verse fifteen is talking that God won't forgive us, and that's something we need to remember the importance of forgiving one another.
- 9:01SPEAKER_02: And later on in this episode, we're gonna look at some verses that talk about you know how often we need to forgive.
- 9:16SPEAKER_02: Do we just forgive, you know, one and done?
- 9:23SPEAKER_02: No, no, it we can't do that, it's not enough.
- 9:31SPEAKER_02: And so, Mickey, what are your thoughts on this?
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: Um, like you said, it's pretty plain.
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: Um, it's pretty black and white.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: There's no um, even though it's written in red in our Bible, it's pretty black and white.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: So no pun intended there.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: But yeah, um the the the verbiage is very, very clear to what the expectation is.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: And um a lot of times we want to be forgiven, but we don't want to forgive others.
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: And we need to understand that if we're worthy of forgiveness, so are others.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: We all have that worthiness.
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: And God wants us to know that and recognize that that we can't just be asked to be forgiven and not not have a desire to forgive someone else.
- 10:20SPEAKER_00: And it's important that we do that.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: And it can be really hard, it can seem difficult, it's it can seem um even unjust or unfair at times when you have when you have you are to forgive someone that you really are not wanting to forgive.
- 10:32SPEAKER_00: Because if somebody has done something wrong or has wronged you or hurt you in a way that you have a hard time forgiving, it really is um really is important to learn how to forgive that person.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: Even if, even if they don't ask for your forgiveness, it's important to forgive them anyway.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: Even if they don't ask for it, require, even if they don't even want your forgiveness, you should still forgive them anyway.
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: Um, I know we mentioned a little bit last week on this topic because we barely touched on it a little bit, but there's so much freedom for yourself in forgiveness when you forgive someone that has hurt you or done done something wrong to you, um, no matter what the circumstance or the situation is.
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: And there are situations, you know, where um sometimes two people play a part in it.
- 11:24SPEAKER_00: And sometimes when you forgive the other person, you can also forgive yourself for the part that you were involved in it.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: So it it's a whole realm of what to do, but the scripture is very simple and very clear on what to do.
- 11:41SPEAKER_00: If we want to be forgiven, we must forgive others.
- 11:45SPEAKER_00: We must do it.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: Why would God forgive us if we're not able to forgive someone else?
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: Why why would he, you know, why would why would we why would we think we were um you know uh worth more than someone else's worth's worth?
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: Our worth is the same to God.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: So He He's not a respecter of persons.
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: That's why that's that's another reason why that it's a it's a requirement of us to be able to forgive so that he can forgive us.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: Because he wants us to understand that he loves me just as much as he loves you, and he loves you just as much as he loves me.
- 12:24SPEAKER_00: And therefore it has to be it has to be equal.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: He's not just gonna forgive me and not me be for you know forgiving of others.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: That's not just, that's not just in his eyes.
- 12:35SPEAKER_00: So I think it's really important as we dive into this lesson to keep that in mind and just keep that plain in the back of your head.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: You know, you know, what is the reason why for forgiveness?
- 12:44SPEAKER_00: Why, why do we have to be accountable?
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: If we want restoration in our life, if you want, if you're struggling in an era of your life and you really need restoration, start forgiving.
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: You will see freedom happen in your life, unbelievable freedom that'll come come your way.
- 13:02SPEAKER_00: You have to be able to forgive.
- 13:05SPEAKER_00: It's important.
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: So that's just my take on that scripture.
- 13:09SPEAKER_00: And um, I can't wait to see where else we're headed with this.
- 13:13SPEAKER_02: Yes, yes, that's wonderful.
- 13:21SPEAKER_02: Um, consider to remember.
- 13:26SPEAKER_02: You know, it what we're talking about is not just for here and now, it's for us to remember for us to hold on to when situations come.
- 13:52SPEAKER_02: What are we gonna remember?
- 13:55SPEAKER_02: I would hope it would be something like this.
- 14:01SPEAKER_02: Now, Satan, he doesn't want us remembering these episodes, he doesn't want us remembering what Christ has done for us.
- 14:18SPEAKER_02: And yet God wants us to remember, and so let's dictate this, like I say, beyond here and now, and so our next scripture we're gonna look at is in Matthew chapter eighteen.
- 14:47SPEAKER_02: And I have um some great study tools that I use um for this podcast and other things that I do, and one of those tools allows me to look at similar verses to verses that I'm studying, and as I was studying Matthew chapter six, this verse in Matthew chapter 18 was a similar verse to it, and so we don't have time to read the whole passage.
- 15:48SPEAKER_02: Um but I would like to highlight that in verse 21, Matthew 18, 21, it gives us what I call the setting of this passage, and then verses twenty-two through thirty-five is the context of verse thirty-five.
- 16:24SPEAKER_02: Um Mickey, I I'm just planning to read verse thirty-five.
- 16:33SPEAKER_02: But if you would like to read some of the passage to give them more context, that's fine.
- 16:44SPEAKER_02: Um, but we notice in verse 35, it says, So likewise shall my heavenly father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not everyone, his brother, their trespasses, and I bring that verse up because I find the phrase where it talks about from their hearts, and to me that that's in about, you know, have there ever been times where someone has asked you for forgiveness and you verbally have said it, but in your heart, in your mind that hasn't been the case, and so that's why I find verse thirty five so interesting that we need to remember that it's not just what we say verbally, it's what's in our hearts, what's in our minds.
- 18:24SPEAKER_02: Are we being truthful?
- 18:28SPEAKER_02: Or are we just saying what the other person is wanting to hear?
- 18:36SPEAKER_02: I mean, how many times have there been situations where someone is demanding forgiveness, demanding that someone say they forgive them?
- 18:54SPEAKER_02: And so the person says they forgive, but maybe they don't actually mean that they forgive.
- 19:09SPEAKER_02: And so we need to be careful about that too, because God does know He knows what we say verbally, He knows what we think, He knows what's in our heart.
- 19:31SPEAKER_02: He knows if things don't line up, and so to me, that's very convicting, very needing to be remembered.
- 19:53SPEAKER_02: So, Mickey, what are your thoughts, or would you like to further?
- 20:03SPEAKER_00: Well, with it with chapter 18, it's about um Peter's talking to Jesus and he's asking him how how how much, how many times do I have to forgive a person?
- 20:15SPEAKER_00: How many times do I have to continue to forgive them?
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: And I and there's two things I think he's referring to.
- 20:22SPEAKER_00: Um one, I think he's referring to repeatedly asking to forgive him because he's having a hard time forgiving the initial um accusation that happened.
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: So he's he's having a battle in his own mind in how many times do I have to forgive this, forgive this person for their sin because you know I'm so bothered by it.
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: The other thing is the if the brother um is still doing the sin against him continually, how many more times do you forgive him?
- 20:49SPEAKER_00: So I think that's where this question comes from.
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: I think it's a two-part question that Peter is talking about in this parable of the unforgiving servant.
- 20:57SPEAKER_00: But a servant, you know, the the the story is about a servant that is forgiven and a possible debt by the king, but yet the king turns around and punishes another individual for a lesser debt, which doesn't seem fair.
- 21:13SPEAKER_01: No.
- 21:14SPEAKER_00: So it's interesting how, but we we ourselves do that.
- 21:19SPEAKER_00: We'll allow someone else to sin against us gravely and forgive them right away, but we'll hang on to the smallest of smallest things that we should be letting go of.
- 21:28SPEAKER_00: And I don't know about you, but I've done it many times.
- 21:30SPEAKER_00: And this this chapter is such a really good chapter, um, which we'll go into this probably in another episode, but um it's it's a really about your heart posture um with Peter, and he asks such a good question.
- 21:46SPEAKER_00: How often um shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him?
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: He asks that in 21.
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: And Jesus answers, and he says, until this, he says in 22, I say not until.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Thee unto seven times, but until 70 times seven.
- 22:04SPEAKER_00: That's a lot of forgiveness.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: That seems like an abundant amount of like almost too much.
- 22:10SPEAKER_00: Like, why would we have to forgive that many times?
- 22:14SPEAKER_00: That's what it takes.
- 22:16SPEAKER_00: We we live in a world of such darkness and such evil and such um unforgiveness that it takes us having to do this over and over and over again for us even to get what we're doing it for.
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: What's the meaning behind it?
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: What's its purpose?
- 22:33SPEAKER_00: What's its value?
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: Why does why does that guy get off?
- 22:37SPEAKER_00: Why does that guy run a red light and doesn't get a ticket?
- 22:39SPEAKER_00: And I'm the one who gets pulled over.
- 22:41SPEAKER_00: That's the kind of sometimes that's the kind of sin we look at.
- 22:43SPEAKER_00: And then we're we're asking the cop, why aren't you punishing them?
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: Why are you just punishing me?
- 22:48SPEAKER_00: Because we feel singled out.
- 22:50SPEAKER_00: Well, no, we just happen to be the one that got caught.
- 22:52SPEAKER_00: It was our number that got drawn that day.
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: It's probably, you know, more than likely it wouldn't even be anything personal.
- 22:58SPEAKER_00: We take everything so personally.
- 23:00SPEAKER_00: We're so offended by the littlest of things.
- 23:02SPEAKER_00: And so we have to ask people continually, or we need to be mindful continually, how to forgive people.
- 23:09SPEAKER_00: When you get cut off, I remember a little story I'll share with you real quickly.
- 23:13SPEAKER_00: A story I was driving with my grandmother down the street, and she's a really, really um devout Christian.
- 23:21SPEAKER_00: And um she doesn't swear and and she doesn't she doesn't say mean things or say horrible things normally.
- 23:28SPEAKER_00: Normally.
- 23:29SPEAKER_00: So we're driving, and this guy, she she was always terrified to drive anyway.
- 23:33SPEAKER_00: She wouldn't ever drive unless I was with her because she was just scared.
- 23:37SPEAKER_00: She's a scaredy cat.
- 23:38SPEAKER_00: Anyway, driving down the road, just a regular road, not not a highway.
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: And a c a car pulled pulled in front of her and cut her off.
- 23:47SPEAKER_00: And she got scared.
- 23:49SPEAKER_00: She reacted out of being scared, but she yelled out, You jerk.
- 23:53SPEAKER_00: And I started laughing because I was like, I'd never heard my grandma talk like that before.
- 23:57SPEAKER_00: And it shocked me for one.
- 23:59SPEAKER_00: And she said, and immediately, immediately started asking God to forgive her.
- 24:06SPEAKER_00: Oh, God, forgive me.
- 24:07SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry, Lord.
- 24:08SPEAKER_00: He's probably not a jerk.
- 24:09SPEAKER_00: Maybe he's having a bad day.
- 24:10SPEAKER_00: Maybe he's just in a hurry.
- 24:12SPEAKER_00: Maybe he's got to be somewhere that I don't have to be.
- 24:14SPEAKER_00: I mean, she had all of these reasonings in her mind why she needed to ask for forgiveness.
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: And me on the other side, sitting in the car going, No, grandma, he was a jerk.
- 24:23SPEAKER_00: He cut you off because I was disagreeing.
- 24:25SPEAKER_00: I was thinking, no, that wasn't very nice of him.
- 24:27SPEAKER_00: He could have caused us to get in a wreck, and even though he didn't, and yada yada yada.
- 24:32SPEAKER_00: And I was just shocked that she went right into prayer immediately and asked God to forgive her for talking so bad about this guy that cut her off.
- 24:40SPEAKER_00: And here I was thinking, no, you were right with what you said the first time around.
- 24:44SPEAKER_00: But and then I got but I got convicted.
- 24:46SPEAKER_00: I was convicted of it because she was and she was doing saying everything out loud.
- 24:51SPEAKER_00: And it convicted my heart because I was thinking, oh man, that guy is a stupid jerk.
- 24:55SPEAKER_00: You know, and I was like really, really, you know, agreeing with her.
- 24:58SPEAKER_00: And then when she started asking for forgiveness, it made me start thinking about, you know, maybe his situation, maybe maybe we don't understand their situation.
- 25:07SPEAKER_00: But we react to the situation and we don't always react appropriately.
- 25:13SPEAKER_00: We just act however.
- 25:15SPEAKER_00: And even that needs to be forgiven, asked to be forgiven.
- 25:18SPEAKER_00: We need to ask God, hey, help us in that area.
- 25:21SPEAKER_00: And it sounds silly.
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: It sounds like, well, why would you have to be forgiven because you called somebody a jerk because they cut you off?
- 25:27SPEAKER_00: Because that's not a very nice thing to do.
- 25:30SPEAKER_00: It's just the right thing to do.
- 25:32SPEAKER_00: It really is.
- 25:33SPEAKER_00: And in this parable, with Peter talking to Jesus and asking him, like, how many times?
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: And he's like, 70 or 70 times, or he says, seven times, but until 70 times seven.
- 25:46SPEAKER_00: So that many times is how many times we have to forgive.
- 25:49SPEAKER_00: And that's a lot of lot of times to think that we have to forgive someone.
- 25:53SPEAKER_00: But a lot of times, I'm going to ask this question, and I really want you to think about it.
- 25:58SPEAKER_00: When you when you say, Oh, what I forgive them.
- 26:01SPEAKER_00: I forgive them.
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: And then something happens and something stirs the pot and that resurfaces.
- 26:08SPEAKER_00: If they're forgiven, would it be resurfacing?
- 26:12SPEAKER_00: Would it be stewing and festering back up inside you if it was really, truly, honestly forgiven?
- 26:19SPEAKER_00: And then we have to do what?
- 26:20SPEAKER_00: We have to ask for forgiveness again, right?
- 26:23SPEAKER_00: And I think that that's what this is referring to, too, in that that aspect, because we need to, we don't let go.
- 26:31SPEAKER_00: When we we say, oh, I'll forgive you, but I will never forget, you know.
- 26:36SPEAKER_00: And sometimes I think we need to understand when God forgives us, guess what He does?
- 26:40SPEAKER_00: He does forget.
- 26:42SPEAKER_00: It's no longer there.
- 26:43SPEAKER_00: We're the ones that keep bringing it up, bringing it to the surface.
- 26:48SPEAKER_00: And we need to let that go because it ends up, we end up being tortured over it.
- 26:52SPEAKER_00: We torture ourselves over stuff.
- 26:55SPEAKER_00: And I've had situations where spirit spiritually and emotionally, I was tormented because you know I had a hard time struggling with forgiving someone.
- 27:04SPEAKER_00: I really did not feel it was justifiable that they should be forgiven, you know.
- 27:09SPEAKER_00: And but who am I to, with the things that I've done in my life, expect God to forgive me if I can't forgive them?
- 27:17SPEAKER_00: So it's really important that we understand the the content of this this chapter is the the setting in the content is you know, Peter talking to Jesus and talking about the parable of the unforgiving servant.
- 27:29SPEAKER_00: And just so that we understand the this the what where about the scripture where it's coming from, but also what you're reading in um what was it, 30 we go clear to 35?
- 27:42SPEAKER_00: Because I've jumped up.
- 27:43SPEAKER_00: I jumped up.
- 27:44SPEAKER_00: It says, so likewise shall my heavenly father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not everyone, his brother, their trespasses.
- 27:54SPEAKER_00: We need to not pick and choose who we forgive.
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: We don't get to cherry pick.
- 27:59SPEAKER_00: This is this is an actual really good example of somebody considering to cherry pick in the Bible.
- 28:06SPEAKER_00: And it's a great reference to that.
- 28:08SPEAKER_00: We we don't get to pick who we forgive, we just need to do it.
- 28:12SPEAKER_00: The Bible, the scripture that you just read before does not say anywhere about going in and just picking and choosing who you want to forgive.
- 28:21SPEAKER_00: Or the ones that, you know, oh, they didn't forgive, or they didn't do something so bad that I can't forgive them, but they did something so bad I can't forgive them.
- 28:29SPEAKER_00: And that's we need to not have that long line drawn.
- 28:32SPEAKER_00: We need to just forgive all across the board, no matter what, from the smallest to the biggest.
- 28:38SPEAKER_00: Because we will not find any peace and contentment in our heart if we don't do that.
- 28:44SPEAKER_00: If we want that restoration, we have to forgive, forgive, period, if that makes any sense at all.
- 28:51SPEAKER_00: Chapter 18 is a very deep chapter, there's a lot to it.
- 28:55SPEAKER_00: And um again, we'll, you know, probably have to come back to that, but um, not to go on a tangent there, but I think it's important to understand that you know, kind of the content of the of that chapter and what it's talking about, and why it's important that, you know, why is Peter asking how many times do we have to ask for this forgiveness and why?
- 29:14SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 29:15SPEAKER_00: And again, that goes back to the why.
- 29:17SPEAKER_00: He's asking, and God makes it really clear again.
- 29:21SPEAKER_00: Not only do you have to do it, but this is sometimes how many times it's gonna take you to get the job done.
- 29:26SPEAKER_00: So, kind of like redoing it over and over and over again.
- 29:28SPEAKER_00: You it becomes redundant, but it's necessary until there's true repentance and forgiveness, it's still there.
- 29:38SPEAKER_00: It's still deep in deep within you.
- 29:40SPEAKER_00: You need to keep on asking God for that forgiveness until you let it go.
- 29:47SPEAKER_00: I think that that repetition of forgiveness is what slowly breaks down the pain that was brought on, and it breaks it away bit by bit, so you can just let it go a little bit at a time.
- 30:01SPEAKER_00: And it would be so much greater if we could just forgive right then and there, but we know that we don't.
- 30:06SPEAKER_00: God knows that we don't.
- 30:08SPEAKER_00: He already knows that we don't.
- 30:09SPEAKER_00: That's why he gave us this, you know, if you have to do it 70 times seven, do it that many times.
- 30:14SPEAKER_00: Keep on forgiving until until you get it right, or until you you truly feel like you've forgiven that person.
- 30:22SPEAKER_00: It's it's important.
- 30:23SPEAKER_00: So, anyway, with that little tangent that I went on, um, I know that you have some more scripture to share with us.
- 30:31SPEAKER_02: Yes, that was very thought-provoking, and um we would be wise, I believe, to remember that.
- 30:43SPEAKER_02: And you know, with these episodes that we do, you don't just need to listen to them once.
- 31:01SPEAKER_02: You can go back over and over and over again, and I do believe that the Lord would give you something more each time, and so um don't feel like well I can just watch this once and it'll be you know go back, listen to it again.
- 31:49SPEAKER_02: According to God's word.
- 31:54SPEAKER_02: When you have something that is it would be very wise to consume that on a regular basis, so that I know what the truth is and so now another scripture that is similar to what Matthew says is Mark Mark Eleven.
- 32:49SPEAKER_02: Mark eleven, twenty-four twenty-six Actually twenty-five and twenty-six.
- 33:05SPEAKER_02: My apologies.
- 33:07SPEAKER_02: So verse twenty-five.
- 33:13SPEAKER_02: Jesus is speaking, and when you stand for him, forgive.
- 33:24SPEAKER_02: If ye have art against any, that your father also which is in heaven, may forgive you your trespasses.
- 33:38SPEAKER_02: Verse twenty says, but if ye do if ye do not forgive, neither will your father which is in heaven, forgive your trespasses.
- 33:53SPEAKER_02: And even though that is similar to what Matthew says, notice there the contents of it.
- 34:10SPEAKER_02: It's talking about you know, if if you pray when you pray, you forgive.
- 34:31SPEAKER_02: And if you verse twenty says, Don says that if you don't, neither will your heavenly father, and so it is somewhat repetitious, but it also is bringing to light something else that you know you may be doing like praying when you have that art, maybe doing prayer time and you're thinking about something that someone did right then and there you forgive, you don't hold on to it.
- 35:36SPEAKER_02: Never forget that Satan wants to keep you as far away from God as possible.
- 35:44SPEAKER_02: Satan wants to keep you as far away as possible from forgiving.
- 35:52SPEAKER_02: Satan wants you to hold on to grudges.
- 35:58SPEAKER_02: Satan wants you to keep that pet in your stomach.
- 36:06SPEAKER_02: That pet where you just maybe you're angry about something or whatever it is.
- 36:17SPEAKER_02: But there's not freedom.
- 36:22SPEAKER_02: There's not freedom in holding on to things.
- 36:27SPEAKER_02: The freedom comes with forgiveness.
- 36:32SPEAKER_02: I've experienced it.
- 36:37SPEAKER_02: And so it's it truly is a dream when we understand what forgiveness is and what it means to forgive others, not just from a you know, God will forgive us, but from a physical and an emotional place.
- 37:18SPEAKER_02: And so that to me, that truly is encouraging and uplifting.
- 37:25SPEAKER_02: And Vicky, what are your thoughts on that?
- 37:31SPEAKER_00: Um, well, again, like you know, like like you said, there is a little bit of, you know, it does seem like it's a little bit repetitious, but um when we think about it, it's um it's reciprocal, you know, it needs to be reciprocal.
- 37:50SPEAKER_00: Um we're receiving God's forgiveness.
- 37:56SPEAKER_00: Um if we refuse to forgive, you know, he's just not gonna forgive us.
- 38:02SPEAKER_00: Like I said, you know, um God doesn't have to forgive us anyway.
- 38:08SPEAKER_00: Think about it, he doesn't have to forgive us at all.
- 38:10SPEAKER_00: Um, but standing and praying praying requires letting go of the grudges.
- 38:17SPEAKER_00: And um it it unblocks um our our heart's reception to God's grace.
- 38:30SPEAKER_00: That's what it does.
- 38:30SPEAKER_00: It unblocks it.
- 38:32SPEAKER_00: Um, that unforgiveness.
- 38:34SPEAKER_00: It it opens the doors, like you said, it brings things to the light.
- 38:38SPEAKER_00: Forgiveness really does bring things to the light.
- 38:43SPEAKER_00: And all those grudges that we hold against people, um no matter how big or how small, um, it it really allows the enemy to keep peace at bay for our lives.
- 38:58SPEAKER_00: And we're miserable.
- 39:00SPEAKER_00: Have you ever been around someone who's just miserable?
- 39:03SPEAKER_00: And have you ever wondered wonder what wonder what broke that person's heart?
- 39:07SPEAKER_00: Wonder what hurt that person.
- 39:08SPEAKER_00: I've been around people, and some people are not evident.
- 39:14SPEAKER_00: They, they, they, they're just happy, go lucky, cheerful, cheerfree all the time, whatever.
- 39:19SPEAKER_00: Um, so it's not as apparent, but there are some people that are just very apparent that they are just hurt.
- 39:26SPEAKER_00: They carry their hurt right on their sleeve and their grudges and their unforgiveness and their what it, they're they're just miserable people.
- 39:35SPEAKER_00: And I don't know if you can relate to what I'm talking about here.
- 39:39SPEAKER_00: It makes me really sad when I see people like that.
- 39:43SPEAKER_00: And it makes me also question my myself, do I look like, do I ever look like that?
- 39:49SPEAKER_00: Do I ever, you know, and I'm sure at times um when I was going through something, uh, you know, the trials and tribulations that we face, I wonder if if if that was how I came across to people carrying around that grudge, if that's how miserable I looked when I see people looking miserable and just unhappy.
- 40:13SPEAKER_00: And they're unsettled.
- 40:14SPEAKER_00: Something is not settled in their life.
- 40:17SPEAKER_00: When Jesus went to the cross, he settled it all.
- 40:22SPEAKER_00: There's nothing left to settle.
- 40:24SPEAKER_00: We need to let go.
- 40:25SPEAKER_00: You can't hold on to the grudges.
- 40:27SPEAKER_00: He paid the ultimate price for everything.
- 40:30SPEAKER_00: We can't go back and fix everything.
- 40:32SPEAKER_00: We and we can't expect someone else to fix what they've broken in us.
- 40:37SPEAKER_00: It's not possible.
- 40:40SPEAKER_00: I've walked a very broken life my entire life.
- 40:43SPEAKER_00: I've had a lot of letdowns, I've had a lot of hurt, I've had a lot of abuse, I've had a lot of things happen in my life.
- 40:49SPEAKER_00: And I could walk around like some of the people that I see walking around and just be completely miserable.
- 40:56SPEAKER_00: I could be.
- 40:58SPEAKER_00: I could hold on to that forever if I wanted to.
- 41:01SPEAKER_00: But what good would that do me?
- 41:04SPEAKER_00: What kind of life would I live if I just carried that everywhere?
- 41:08SPEAKER_00: You know, we talk about the baggage and we talk about the dump truck, and you know, we've talked about these things in past episodes.
- 41:15SPEAKER_00: And when we talk about forgiveness, if you're holding on to something that you need to forgive, all you're doing is piling more and more and more onto your luggage that you're carrying around with you for a long time.
- 41:28SPEAKER_00: And some people it's for a long, long, long time.
- 41:31SPEAKER_00: I know people that still hold grudges from their childhood and they're in their 60s and 70s, 70 years old, you know, and they're still hanging on to something that happened when they were 10 or 11 or 12, you know.
- 41:46SPEAKER_00: And it might have been a pivotal time in their life where something drastic happened and it changed their outlook and their perspective on things, but they don't have to stay there.
- 41:56SPEAKER_00: You don't have to stay in that misery.
- 42:00SPEAKER_00: It's a choice that we make.
- 42:02SPEAKER_00: Forgiveness is a choice.
- 42:04SPEAKER_00: When God sent his son to die for us, that was a choice he made for the entire world to forgive all of us as rotten as we are.
- 42:14SPEAKER_00: And there are some rotten people.
- 42:16SPEAKER_00: I know there's times I've been rotten, and I know there's times that I see people and I think, man, they are really rotten.
- 42:22SPEAKER_00: And I try not to judge, but I mean, but it, you know, it's pretty evident.
- 42:26SPEAKER_00: There's some you know, things that are evident that you think, man, that's a pretty terrible thing to do, you know, or pretty way to be, or you know, it that's kind of sad.
- 42:37SPEAKER_00: But if we want God's grace and we want um to be able to walk in his peace, we have to open up our heart and be willing to get rid of the roadblocks.
- 42:50SPEAKER_00: And that road, one of those roadblocks is unforgiveness.
- 42:53SPEAKER_00: It's a huge stronghold in people's lives.
- 42:56SPEAKER_00: It keeps people right where the enemy wants us to be kept.
- 43:01SPEAKER_00: The enemy is dancing all over that.
- 43:04SPEAKER_00: He is celebrating, he is enjoying every bit of your misery.
- 43:09SPEAKER_00: Think about that.
- 43:13SPEAKER_00: When we walk and we act and we behave that way, and we just hold grudges and we don't forgive one another, and we're just rotten to one another, the enemy celebrates that.
- 43:23SPEAKER_00: And you know what it does to God?
- 43:25SPEAKER_00: It breaks his heart.
- 43:28SPEAKER_00: Because God is of love and peace, he's not of hate and malice, and you know, there's a lot of people out there that honestly can say um they they they can say that their retaliation, they want to retaliate against somebody that's done something to them.
- 43:51SPEAKER_00: And when I hear somebody say that about someone, I literally start praying for the the person that they're talking about, because whatever they're Did that was so so horrible to the person that wants to retaliate against them.
- 44:04SPEAKER_00: It probably seemed at the time pretty rotten or pretty bad.
- 44:09SPEAKER_00: And I I end up praying, and I end up praying for both of them, but I pray for the one that the person is seeking retaliation against.
- 44:17SPEAKER_00: Because I wonder if they really know how much what they did was effective to that person.
- 44:24SPEAKER_00: Did it was it communicated?
- 44:26SPEAKER_00: Did they discuss it, you know?
- 44:28SPEAKER_00: And we leave a lot of things left said undone.
- 44:31SPEAKER_00: And a lot of people just go, oh, they blow it off.
- 44:34SPEAKER_00: Oh, excuse me.
- 44:35SPEAKER_00: But instead of blowing it off, we need to um be paying attention to what it is that we're we're asking for forgiveness for.
- 44:47SPEAKER_00: You know?
- 44:48SPEAKER_00: And it's funny because um I know people that that say, I'm sorry all the time for everything.
- 44:54SPEAKER_00: Oh, I'm sorry.
- 44:55SPEAKER_00: Oh, I'm sorry.
- 44:56SPEAKER_00: Oh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, oh I'm sorry.
- 45:00SPEAKER_00: That's not forgiveness, by the way.
- 45:03SPEAKER_00: You gotta be careful.
- 45:05SPEAKER_00: It's gotta be truthful and meaningful.
- 45:09SPEAKER_00: Your words have to have merit, they can't just be words.
- 45:13SPEAKER_00: We we toss words around, you know, like it's nothing sometimes.
- 45:18SPEAKER_00: And we need to be very careful and mindful of that.
- 45:20SPEAKER_00: And God knows when we're being truthful, He knows the truth already.
- 45:25SPEAKER_00: He knows if you're honestly forgiving someone or if you're not.
- 45:29SPEAKER_00: That's why we need the 70 times seven times to forgive people, because sometimes it's hard to let that go.
- 45:34SPEAKER_00: It's hard to really, when someone says sorry to you, sometimes it's really hard to accept that apology.
- 45:41SPEAKER_00: Sometimes I, you know, I'm just like, you know, whatever.
- 45:44SPEAKER_00: But um especially if they do it again and again and again, you know, but if we take that as something against us and not something that they're going through, we're missing half the equation.
- 46:04SPEAKER_00: We have to think about what's causing them to do what they're doing, as well as you know, what's happening to us when it's being done.
- 46:11SPEAKER_00: There's a lot to it.
- 46:13SPEAKER_00: But just being able to forgive, being like, you know what, I get it, you know, you're probably having a bad day, you're acting this way, you're doing this, you're whatever.
- 46:21SPEAKER_00: I forgive you for that.
- 46:24SPEAKER_00: God will give you the peace for that.
- 46:27SPEAKER_00: If we do that, it unblocks that road barrier to having an open heart and receiving God's grace.
- 46:39SPEAKER_00: And I think it's really important, especially that's you know, Matthew 11, um, 25 and 26.
- 46:45SPEAKER_00: That's what it's saying.
- 46:45SPEAKER_00: We need to make sure that we are we are letting go of grudges.
- 46:52SPEAKER_00: We're not hanging on, we don't need to hang on, we need to just forgive.
- 46:56SPEAKER_00: Because the unforgiveness is what starts building up the blocks that we need to knock down.
- 47:01SPEAKER_00: Those are the strongholds that need to come down.
- 47:05SPEAKER_00: So I hope that makes sense.
- 47:10SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 47:12SPEAKER_02: Another not revoking thing, I believe, that we really need to take time.
- 47:26SPEAKER_02: Yes, we have responsibilities.
- 47:30SPEAKER_02: Yes, days are busy in that, but what is going to matter in eternity?
- 47:47SPEAKER_02: So now we just have a few more scriptures to look at, but all these scriptures that we're sharing, they tie in with each other, and so I believe it is important for us to really consider is how important it is to be truthful, to be understanding.
- 48:24SPEAKER_02: And so let's look now at Colossians, Colossians chapter three, and verse 13.
- 48:36SPEAKER_02: And guess I know these scriptures that we're looking at, they are um somewhat you know on their own, and yet they are all of them within a greater context of things, and so I encourage you to study them for yourself and ask the Lord what He wants you to see.
- 49:17SPEAKER_02: You know, we can be sharing the things that the Lord has shown us from these different passages, and that but what he has shown us and what he has for you may be different, and so that's that's why it's important to study for yourself.
- 49:45SPEAKER_02: So Colossians chapter three and verse 13.
- 49:53SPEAKER_02: The verse says, forbearing one another and forgiving one another.
- 50:01SPEAKER_02: If any man have a quarrel against any, even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
- 50:14SPEAKER_02: And to me that is one of the most powerful, encouraging verses on the importance of forgiveness.
- 50:27SPEAKER_02: I think also of Ephesians 432, and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God, for Christ's sake, has forgiven you.
- 50:45SPEAKER_02: Why is it so important to forgive one another?
- 50:52SPEAKER_02: Because God forgives us.
- 50:57SPEAKER_02: That's why instead of holding on to things, instead of refusing to forgive, we need to be obedient because God forgives us.
- 51:26SPEAKER_02: And I I believe Mickey mentioned something to that effect already, but yes, this verse along with others is encouraging, it's not demanding per se, it's encouraging, it's letting us know.
- 52:00SPEAKER_02: Okay, if you do this, then this will happen.
- 52:05SPEAKER_02: But if you don't do this, then this is what you cannot spread.
- 52:14SPEAKER_02: And so, Mickey, what are your thoughts on that verse?
- 52:21SPEAKER_00: Well, with Colossians, you know, Paul instructs the church to bear with one another, but he wants us not only to not are we to only bear with one another, but we're also supposed to not be complaining, and we're supposed to be forgiving as freely and readily as Christ forgave us.
- 52:38SPEAKER_00: So it's important that we just keep that in mind.
- 52:40SPEAKER_00: If if we look at it like that, like you know, hey, we we need to just stop complaining, you know.
- 52:46SPEAKER_00: I mean, sure we're gonna have some things that we disagree with and we could talk about that and work through and whatever, but do we have to complain about everything?
- 52:53SPEAKER_00: I know people that complain about everything.
- 52:57SPEAKER_00: Drives me nuts, okay.
- 53:00SPEAKER_00: And it's just like, geez, you know, find something better to do with your time.
- 53:04SPEAKER_00: You know, I don't have a problem saying that to certain people, but other times, you know, it's legitimate complaining if there's a reason to complain about something.
- 53:13SPEAKER_00: Um, but also even even in that, just make sure your heart is open to be forgiving to it as well.
- 53:20SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, it's annoying, yeah, it's it's it's a nuisance.
- 53:23SPEAKER_00: Um just like parents with their kids, you know, we have to continually correct and correct and correct and correct.
- 53:31SPEAKER_00: If we were so busy correcting and not understanding that they're children, that it's that everything that they do as a child is a forgivable offense, honestly.
- 53:43SPEAKER_00: Children are forgivable offenses, I think.
- 53:46SPEAKER_00: Um we we just need to be mindful, like God says to be childlike.
- 53:51SPEAKER_00: We have to have the the the mind of a child.
- 53:55SPEAKER_00: And um it's it's not always easy to do as adults.
- 54:01SPEAKER_00: And sometimes we find ourselves complaining more.
- 54:03SPEAKER_00: We just need to be careful as as we you know dive in these scriptures today.
- 54:08SPEAKER_00: We need to make sure that um as offenses come our way, we need to know how to handle it according to how God would handle it.
- 54:19SPEAKER_00: What you know, like that phrase, what would Jesus do?
- 54:22SPEAKER_00: What would Jesus do?
- 54:24SPEAKER_00: That's why he gave the message on the mount.
- 54:27SPEAKER_00: That's why he gave us all of that information.
- 54:30SPEAKER_00: And he talks about forgiveness.
- 54:32SPEAKER_00: Forgiveness is not something he left out of that conversation.
- 54:35SPEAKER_00: That was a great teaching moment for Jesus, and he wanted us to learn how to forgive one another because it's crucial, it's an important part of who we are and what we do.
- 54:48SPEAKER_00: We must forgive every single time, every time.
- 54:53SPEAKER_00: Even if it's hard, even if we don't want to, even, and you know, one time my grandmother said something to me that really my grandmother was very wise.
- 55:01SPEAKER_00: She was a really good Christian, like I said, had a lot of wisdom.
- 55:05SPEAKER_00: And um, she would just say things.
- 55:08SPEAKER_00: And one time she said that she had a hard time forgiving someone.
- 55:12SPEAKER_00: I won't go into the story because it's personal, but she had a hard time forgiving someone, but she asked God to help her to forgive that person because she knew that on her own she couldn't forgive the person, but with God she could, and that was powerful to me because she knew how hurt she was by this person's offense, what this person had done.
- 55:35SPEAKER_00: But she knew through Christ that he was still forgivable, but it was gonna take Christ in helping her get through it because what she did was admit, she admitted her weakness, and God pulled through with his strength, and he was she was able to forgive.
- 55:55SPEAKER_00: And God does that.
- 55:56SPEAKER_00: If you're having trouble forgiving someone, ask God to help you do it.
- 56:01SPEAKER_00: He already knows your heart, he knows why you're hurt, he knows why you're mad, he knows why you, you know, whatever the situation is, he already knows.
- 56:10SPEAKER_00: And if you're really struggling with it, ask him to help you because with him it can be done.
- 56:17SPEAKER_00: If you're going at it by yourself, that might be why you're having trouble, you know, getting to that, to the to the bottom line of things.
- 56:25SPEAKER_00: Need to be really mindful of that.
- 56:28SPEAKER_00: So keep that in mind.
- 56:29SPEAKER_00: You know, there's a lot, there's a there's a lot today that we're telling you to keep in keep in mind, but um the scripture is is so powerful, and and it's just really important that we're using it the way God wants us to use it.
- 56:46SPEAKER_00: Need to act the way Jesus acted.
- 56:50SPEAKER_00: If we did that, the world would be such a better place if people just acted like Jesus.
- 56:56SPEAKER_00: I I remember telling someone one time, well, they said, How would you know?
- 57:00SPEAKER_00: And I said, Well, how do you don't know?
- 57:02SPEAKER_00: You don't know because you're not you have not tried it.
- 57:04SPEAKER_00: Have you tried it?
- 57:05SPEAKER_00: Have you tried acting like Jesus?
- 57:07SPEAKER_00: Have you tried living a life like Jesus?
- 57:09SPEAKER_00: Have you tried you know behaving and and doing the things that Jesus says to do?
- 57:13SPEAKER_00: Have you tried it?
- 57:15SPEAKER_00: You know that expression, don't knock it until you try it.
- 57:17SPEAKER_00: Well, you know, sometimes that's that there's a lot of truth to that.
- 57:21SPEAKER_00: You know, a lot of people go, well, how do you know that's gonna work?
- 57:24SPEAKER_00: Well, how do you not know it's gonna work unless you try it?
- 57:27SPEAKER_00: You know, you we fail only when we don't get up and move forward.
- 57:33SPEAKER_00: That's the only time we really fail.
- 57:35SPEAKER_00: Because we didn't make the attempt to at least try.
- 57:39SPEAKER_00: We need to forgive people, we need to forgive one another.
- 57:42SPEAKER_00: That's all we can do.
- 57:44SPEAKER_00: Sometimes they won't even speak to you, sometimes they won't even talk to you, sometimes they still have nothing to do with you.
- 57:48SPEAKER_00: Just keep praying for them.
- 57:49SPEAKER_00: God can soften their heart, God can do the softening, he'll do the footwork if you just do what you're supposed to do on your end.
- 57:59SPEAKER_00: So it's important.
- 58:01SPEAKER_00: So we're supposed to forgive freely.
- 58:02SPEAKER_00: Colossians 3 13 is about forgiving freely, and it's important that that we you know we do that.
- 58:10SPEAKER_00: Um, but I think we have what one more I think we have one more scripture.
- 58:17SPEAKER_00: Okay, I thought we had wasn't sure how many more.
- 58:19SPEAKER_00: I knew we had a couple.
- 58:22SPEAKER_02: So now we go to Luke seventeen, and you know verse one of Luke seventeen gives us the answer as to why why were there offenses?
- 58:58SPEAKER_02: Yes, it it just go back to Genesis three Genesis three six was I believe the start of deaning forgiveness.
- 59:27SPEAKER_02: But let me read Luke seventeen, verse one.
- 59:37SPEAKER_02: Then said he unto his disciples, and again, this is Jesus during his earthly ministry, talking to his disciples and to others who were around during this time, then said he unto his disciples, It is impossible what the offenses will come there, you go even Jesus knew that and so if you're wondering why am I going to do this?
- 1:00:40SPEAKER_02: Why why did that person do this?
- 1:00:49SPEAKER_02: Remember Luke 17, 1 if you have to, maybe write it out.
- 1:00:58SPEAKER_02: Write out the verse, put it somewhere you see every day to remind you that offenses will come, that there's nothing, you know, no escaping until eternity.
- 1:01:24SPEAKER_02: But the verse does not does not stop there.
- 1:01:28SPEAKER_02: The verse goes on and says, but woe unto him to whom they come.
- 1:01:43SPEAKER_02: We do have choices.
- 1:01:49SPEAKER_02: Satan's attacks are every day.
- 1:01:53SPEAKER_02: There's no escaping them.
- 1:01:57SPEAKER_02: But we don't have to give in to them.
- 1:02:01SPEAKER_02: We don't have to give in to the father of lies.
- 1:02:11SPEAKER_02: And then go to verse three.
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_02: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him, and if and if he repent, forgive him.
- 1:02:34SPEAKER_02: And then verse four, and if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day, turn again to thee, saying, I repent, thou shall forgive him.
- 1:03:09SPEAKER_02: So we learned from that those verses that being offended or being having something happen against us unavoidable.
- 1:03:34SPEAKER_02: It will happen.
- 1:03:37SPEAKER_02: But then we also learn how often, like Mickey mentioned earlier, how often do we need to forgive?
- 1:03:52SPEAKER_02: If notice that it's talking about if they repent, if they've asked for forgiven, then we are to forgive.
- 1:04:07SPEAKER_02: We are not to hold on to it.
- 1:04:14SPEAKER_02: And so let's remember that.
- 1:04:26SPEAKER_02: In this world, there are going to be offenses.
- 1:04:36SPEAKER_02: We have a choice.
- 1:04:38SPEAKER_02: Are we going to forgive or are we gonna hold on to it?
- 1:04:43SPEAKER_02: And holding on to it does not hurt the other person.
- 1:04:50SPEAKER_02: Holding on to it hurts us.
- 1:04:54SPEAKER_02: And why would anyone choose to hold on to something causing them to be visible, causing them to be, you know out of sorts.
- 1:05:20SPEAKER_02: And so yes, we do need to be mindful.
- 1:05:32SPEAKER_02: We've said it a lot on this episode, but it is critical, I believe, that we remember sometimes.
- 1:05:43SPEAKER_02: And when it comes to the Bible, the Bible is full of things to remember.
- 1:05:54SPEAKER_02: And so, Mickey, what are your thoughts on this?
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_00: I was just looking at the scripture, and it's it's funny how we talk about you know the multitude of times.
- 1:06:11SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, like he's talking about in in in Luke, about you know, if someone sins against you seven times in a single day, it seems like a lot of times for someone to sin against you.
- 1:06:24SPEAKER_00: That's a lot.
- 1:06:25SPEAKER_00: Um, I can see someone getting really frustrated with that, especially in the world we live in today.
- 1:06:32SPEAKER_00: But still, God requires us to forgive anyway.
- 1:06:36SPEAKER_00: We have to at the remote at the end of the day do what God requires us to do.
- 1:06:44SPEAKER_00: We are required to love one another, and if we can't forgive someone, are we truly loving one another?
- 1:06:52SPEAKER_00: And I believe a lot of a lot of forgiveness, a lot of the reason there's the need for forgiveness is because we lack, when we we have animosity and we hold grudges, we don't love the way that we should love because we have something holding us back from loving unconditionally.
- 1:07:10SPEAKER_00: God is an unconditional lover.
- 1:07:13SPEAKER_00: We are the ones that put things conditionally.
- 1:07:17SPEAKER_00: So important.
- 1:07:18SPEAKER_00: So if someone does something seven times in one day, which seems to me like I would probably lose my mind.
- 1:07:26SPEAKER_00: I mean, I don't know.
- 1:07:27SPEAKER_00: I don't know how nice I would be at the end of the end of that day with that person if they were continuing to do it.
- 1:07:35SPEAKER_00: But after all said and done, even if they still continue to do it, I would still be required to forgive them and love them anyway.
- 1:07:42SPEAKER_00: And like I mentioned before, sometimes when somebody does something against us, it's we're not the reason they're doing it.
- 1:07:52SPEAKER_00: It's their their issue.
- 1:07:53SPEAKER_00: It's something that they're going through, something they're struggling with.
- 1:08:00SPEAKER_00: Sometimes we are punching bags for people that are going through stuff and it comes across the wrong way.
- 1:08:10SPEAKER_00: And it's easy to get offended by that.
- 1:08:13SPEAKER_00: I mean, nobody wants to be anybody else's punching bag because they're having a bad day, but sometimes it happens.
- 1:08:18SPEAKER_00: When we bounce stuff off from people because we don't know any other avenue or we don't have any other way of taking care of the situation, we end up hurting people.
- 1:08:32SPEAKER_00: And that's part of us being human, I believe.
- 1:08:36SPEAKER_00: Because none of us are perfect.
- 1:08:39SPEAKER_00: We're all gonna struggle in that area.
- 1:08:41SPEAKER_00: I've struggled in that.
- 1:08:42SPEAKER_00: There's times that I had to go back and ask my daughter or my daughters and my sons.
- 1:08:48SPEAKER_00: One time I was in a real foul mood, just a real foul mood.
- 1:08:52SPEAKER_00: My son said something to me, and I just wasn't very nice to him.
- 1:08:56SPEAKER_00: I just said something really mean.
- 1:08:58SPEAKER_00: And I right after I said it, it was kind of funny because right after I said it, I thought to myself, well, why would I say something like that when I really don't believe that about my son?
- 1:09:06SPEAKER_00: Because I, you know, said something pretty rude about my son.
- 1:09:10SPEAKER_00: He laughed.
- 1:09:11SPEAKER_00: He thought it was funny because he was shocked, he was shocked that I said it because it wasn't something that I would normally say to him.
- 1:09:18SPEAKER_00: He literally laughed.
- 1:09:19SPEAKER_00: He thought, man, mom must be really having a moment if she's gonna say that to me and he just started laughing.
- 1:09:24SPEAKER_00: But it hurt my feelings.
- 1:09:26SPEAKER_00: I was hurt for it.
- 1:09:28SPEAKER_00: And I I went up to him and I gave him a hug, and I apologized because I didn't mean it.
- 1:09:32SPEAKER_00: It just came right out right out my fat mouth at that moment.
- 1:09:35SPEAKER_00: I was just in the mood, having a bad day, and I blurted it out without even filtering in my mind what I was saying.
- 1:09:44SPEAKER_00: I didn't even take time to think about it.
- 1:09:48SPEAKER_00: I just allowed it to happen.
- 1:09:50SPEAKER_00: We have to be careful.
- 1:09:53SPEAKER_00: Now, my son, who knew me well enough to know that I don't normally talk like that or act like that or whatever, he knew something had to be off because I just didn't do those things.
- 1:10:04SPEAKER_00: And when I did, he knew there had to be some reason behind it.
- 1:10:07SPEAKER_00: But again, he was shocked and started laughing because he just wasn't expecting me to say that.
- 1:10:12SPEAKER_00: And when I apologized, he he even laughed while I apologized because he was like, What in the world?
- 1:10:18SPEAKER_00: But I knew I needed to apologize, I knew I was in the wrong.
- 1:10:21SPEAKER_00: And sometimes I know that we know that we're in the wrong when we do stuff, but we have pride issues and we don't want to admit that we were wrong.
- 1:10:29SPEAKER_00: And sometimes that's why people hold grudges against us because we should have apologized.
- 1:10:34SPEAKER_00: We were in the wrong, and we don't want to take accountability for what we do.
- 1:10:39SPEAKER_00: We have to stand up for what we do.
- 1:10:42SPEAKER_00: We need to focus on who we are, what we're doing, and how we're responding to people.
- 1:10:50SPEAKER_00: That'll reduce so much stress in people's life if we just start doing that alone.
- 1:10:55SPEAKER_00: We have to be mindful, the Bible says, mindful of what we're doing.
- 1:11:03SPEAKER_00: And that's why it says in um 1 Corinthians, we need to take every thought captive, every thought captive, and take it to the knowledge of God and make sure that it's correct by Him before we use that thought for any other purpose.
- 1:11:20SPEAKER_00: For whatever it's whatever that thought is that comes into our mind.
- 1:11:24SPEAKER_00: We need to take it to the knowledge of God, and we need to get it examined.
- 1:11:28SPEAKER_00: It's basically taking it to the doctor and be like, is this thought okay?
- 1:11:33SPEAKER_00: Or do I need some help over here?
- 1:11:35SPEAKER_00: And I know I've had many thoughts where I didn't go take it to the doctor, I just went and took it on my own accord.
- 1:11:43SPEAKER_00: And it doesn't always pan out that well.
- 1:11:46SPEAKER_00: We need to take our thoughts to the word and knowledge of God because he wants us, he wants to help us do things correctly.
- 1:11:55SPEAKER_00: Because if he could stop us before we get to the point where we hurt somebody else, he would rather do that, honestly.
- 1:12:00SPEAKER_00: And he's willing to do that if we're willing to take the time to do that process.
- 1:12:06SPEAKER_00: And it's not an easy process to do.
- 1:12:11SPEAKER_00: We're used to allowing our thoughts just to be like on a on a movie reel, they just go, they don't stop.
- 1:12:16SPEAKER_00: And sometimes when the movie jams up or stops, and then we have to figure out what all this mess is that we made because we just let it keep playing on and on.
- 1:12:24SPEAKER_00: We don't even take take heed to what is really happening.
- 1:12:27SPEAKER_00: And it's important that we stop and think about it.
- 1:12:29SPEAKER_00: Like I said in our other episode, you know, sometimes we have to stop and smell the roses, take a break, do some self-evaluation and self-searching.
- 1:12:42SPEAKER_00: It's not always other people that have wronged us.
- 1:12:46SPEAKER_00: Sometimes we do things that allow people to wrong us because of what we've done.
- 1:12:52SPEAKER_00: Gotta look at the whole picture.
- 1:12:56SPEAKER_00: And I think it's important.
- 1:13:00SPEAKER_00: I mean, I don't know that I've ever tried to need to be forgiven seven times in a day against one person and one individual at all.
- 1:13:08SPEAKER_00: I think I don't know.
- 1:13:09SPEAKER_00: I I I would hope that I have never done that in my lifetime.
- 1:13:13SPEAKER_00: At least if I have, no one has ever told me.
- 1:13:15SPEAKER_00: But I I mean, if I when I think about that scripture right there, about how he says if someone does it even seven times in a single day, we have to continue.
- 1:13:25SPEAKER_00: I don't know, my nerves might be a little bit shot at the end of that day.
- 1:13:29SPEAKER_00: I might be ready to put, you know, like a throat punch or a chokehold on somebody, like just a little bit, you know, just to get, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:13:36SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I'm feeling a little bit like that's enough.
- 1:13:39SPEAKER_00: Okay, like let's put the brakes on here.
- 1:13:42SPEAKER_00: So I I think that you know, it I can see why we have to continually continue to continually forgive people because um it is we have habits that are repetitious, and as most people know, you cannot change a habit in an instant.
- 1:14:03SPEAKER_00: It takes time.
- 1:14:04SPEAKER_00: Just like getting in the habit of prayer, getting in the habit of worship, getting in the habit of reading your Bible.
- 1:14:12SPEAKER_00: Same thing when you have a bad habit, getting out of the habit, it takes that time.
- 1:14:17SPEAKER_00: You have to take time.
- 1:14:19SPEAKER_00: And that's why it's important to take it to God.
- 1:14:22SPEAKER_00: God will help you through that.
- 1:14:24SPEAKER_00: God will help you through it.
- 1:14:26SPEAKER_00: And so I encourage that.
- 1:14:27SPEAKER_00: You know, get seek out God, seek out his word, um, work on your heart posture.
- 1:14:34SPEAKER_00: And then when somebody does sin against you seven times in one day, you won't want to punch them in the throat.
- 1:14:39SPEAKER_00: You'll be able to go, you know what, okay, that's enough.
- 1:14:42SPEAKER_00: We're done.
- 1:14:42SPEAKER_00: I'll forgive you, but we're done.
- 1:14:44SPEAKER_00: Okay, you know, you you you you'll be able to handle it without overreacting or doing something that that's going to be even more offensive.
- 1:14:53SPEAKER_00: So it's a great scripture to consider.
- 1:14:57SPEAKER_00: It really does make you think about some stuff.
- 1:15:01SPEAKER_00: And I don't know about you, but there's times when I've had to rebuke a few people.
- 1:15:07SPEAKER_00: I'm just, you know, enough is enough, and you know, rebuking must come.
- 1:15:12SPEAKER_00: But usually, you usually anytime I've ever rebuked anybody, I was led by Holy Spirit to do it.
- 1:15:18SPEAKER_00: It wasn't just just something that came out my mouth because I was like, oh, you know, um, we got to be careful when we're rebuking because we want to make sure it's Holy Spirit-led and not um pride or power that we think that we have that we don't have.
- 1:15:35SPEAKER_00: You know, the ownership of sometimes we take ownership when we don't have ownership.
- 1:15:39SPEAKER_00: So we need to be very mindful.
- 1:15:41SPEAKER_00: Um, if we're doing it for our own self-gratification, it's for the wrong reason.
- 1:15:44SPEAKER_00: If we're doing it because that person needs to be freed and Holy Spirit needs to intervene, then that's that's proper rebuking.
- 1:15:53SPEAKER_00: So I don't know if you've encountered that, Bethany, but it's real important that we do understand that.
- 1:16:00SPEAKER_00: But I hope that makes sense because I know that for myself, I I just hope that I've never been the person that has gone to that extreme.
- 1:16:11SPEAKER_00: You know, I really do.
- 1:16:13SPEAKER_00: So that's it's it's a really good meditative scripture to look at.
- 1:16:19SPEAKER_00: Um so that way it can be a good time to do some self-evaluating, some soul searching for yourself.
- 1:16:32SPEAKER_00: Start dissecting what's really going on in your heart, what's really going on in your mind, what's really going on in your body, you know.
- 1:16:39SPEAKER_00: Um, and there could be a lot of variables to that.
- 1:16:42SPEAKER_00: So it's important that, you know, we are self-checking our, you know, what we're doing and check it to the word of God.
- 1:16:48SPEAKER_00: Second Corinthians, take every thought captive to the knowledge of God, whatever it is, and see where it lines up.
- 1:16:56SPEAKER_00: And if it's not lining up, figure out how to line it up.
- 1:17:00SPEAKER_00: And I know forgiveness is a is a huge part of that.
- 1:17:04SPEAKER_00: So, okay, I will stop.
- 1:17:06SPEAKER_00: I'm going on another tangent, so it's your turn.
- 1:17:13SPEAKER_02: Yes, so as we wrap up this episode, one final scripture to encourage, and that is first John 1 9.
- 1:17:33SPEAKER_02: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
- 1:17:51SPEAKER_02: To God, he's ultimately the only one that can forgive us.
- 1:18:02SPEAKER_02: And so, yes, when we do things against one another, that is and we go to the person and ask for forgiveness.
- 1:18:21SPEAKER_02: That is a form, but ultimately going to God, being completely cleansed from all unrighteousness.
- 1:18:35SPEAKER_02: Again, that's not just a verse for becoming a Christian, that's a verse for every day.
- 1:18:47SPEAKER_02: I do believe, and so to encourage and strengthen you be obedient to that verse.
- 1:19:00SPEAKER_02: Because there is a wonderful promise attached to it.
- 1:19:05SPEAKER_02: What are we doing?
- 1:19:07SPEAKER_02: Are we confessing our sins?
- 1:19:11SPEAKER_02: Because if we're not confessing obliged, and so we need to take a message, we need to ask us.
- 1:19:47SPEAKER_02: And so Mickey Do you have thoughts on that or final thoughts?
- 1:19:55SPEAKER_00: Well, like you said, um, in closing, um this is a really good place to wrap up, actually, because confessing our sins is is is so important.
- 1:20:06SPEAKER_00: And there are so many Bible Bible promises that God has offered to us.
- 1:20:11SPEAKER_00: And in order for us to have them and for God to fulfill his promises to us, we have to do certain specific things.
- 1:20:21SPEAKER_00: And confessing our sins is one of them.
- 1:20:23SPEAKER_00: When you start confessing your sins, I'm gonna tell you what happens.
- 1:20:27SPEAKER_00: And and and Bethany, jump in anytime if you need to.
- 1:20:30SPEAKER_00: When you start confessing your sins, okay, God will start revealing things to you.
- 1:20:38SPEAKER_00: He'll not only reveal things that need to be forgiven, but he'll reveal things that need to be worked on in your life.
- 1:20:45SPEAKER_00: When you just confess your sins.
- 1:20:48SPEAKER_00: Even if it's nonchalantly, like, oh, well, Lord didn't mean to do that.
- 1:20:51SPEAKER_00: Sorry, well, you know, and there's times when I talk to God and I'm very serious, and there's times when I talk to God like, oops, I did it again, God, you know, oh, forgive me, okay?
- 1:21:00SPEAKER_00: And you know, God knows.
- 1:21:01SPEAKER_00: But I'm asking him to forgive me regardless.
- 1:21:05SPEAKER_00: And there's sometimes when I do that that God will bring it back to the surface just to help me work on work through it, work through something that I keep doing, keep messing up on.
- 1:21:17SPEAKER_00: If I feel the need to ask for forgiveness for it, then I already have felt the need to be forgiven.
- 1:21:25SPEAKER_00: And I already know that it was unrighteous.
- 1:21:29SPEAKER_00: It was an act of unrighteousness if I'm asking for forgiveness.
- 1:21:33SPEAKER_00: And I need help to correct that behavior.
- 1:21:36SPEAKER_00: And I think that God starts the cleansing process there when we do that.
- 1:21:42SPEAKER_00: When as soon as we start asking for you know forgiveness, or we ask and we confess our sins, that's how the cleansing process starts.
- 1:21:52SPEAKER_00: And if we want to be cleansed, like I said in the very beginning of this episode, that sin is gone forever.
- 1:21:59SPEAKER_00: It doesn't, he doesn't put it on the back burner and be like, well, in case she does it again, I'm gonna pull out the card of how many times she's done it.
- 1:22:08SPEAKER_00: God doesn't do that.
- 1:22:11SPEAKER_00: It's it's crazy how unconditional He is compared to how conditional we are when it comes to faithfulness, righteousness, godliness, even cleanliness.
- 1:22:24SPEAKER_00: When you think about how dirty our sin is, how bad it is.
- 1:22:28SPEAKER_00: Can you imagine the laundry pile of our sins?
- 1:22:31SPEAKER_00: If we didn't take them to God, I mean we'd be we'd be wallowing in it for days, probably, you know.
- 1:22:37SPEAKER_00: We need to understand once we have asked God to forgive that sin, it's no longer there.
- 1:22:42SPEAKER_00: That doesn't mean we may not do it again, but the sin that we initially did is no longer there.
- 1:22:48SPEAKER_00: We are forgiven for it.
- 1:22:51SPEAKER_00: And we have to believe in it.
- 1:22:53SPEAKER_00: Yes, we have to believe that he forgives us.
- 1:22:56SPEAKER_00: That's a huge part of it.
- 1:22:58SPEAKER_00: A lot of times we confess our sins, but we don't believe God is actually forgiving us.
- 1:23:05SPEAKER_00: And I think sometimes that keeps us in our sin when we don't believe that God is actually able to forgive us for that sin.
- 1:23:14SPEAKER_00: I think so, I think it keeps us stuck there.
- 1:23:17SPEAKER_00: We have to believe that he has forgiven us for that sin.
- 1:23:22SPEAKER_00: And it's not, let me just say this too: it's not if and when he feels like it's, it's instantly.
- 1:23:29SPEAKER_00: When you ask, it's done.
- 1:23:32SPEAKER_00: It's finished.
- 1:23:33SPEAKER_00: You know why?
- 1:23:34SPEAKER_00: Because Jesus already paid the price on the cross for the sin.
- 1:23:40SPEAKER_00: And what did he say on the cross?
- 1:23:44SPEAKER_00: It is finished.
- 1:23:46SPEAKER_00: It's done.
- 1:23:48SPEAKER_00: We have to believe in God's word and his promises.
- 1:23:51SPEAKER_00: If we want freedom, if we want to walk upright and righteous, we need to believe in who God the Father is and who Son, who Jesus the Son is the Son, the Holy Spirit is.
- 1:24:04SPEAKER_00: Because if we're not believing and understanding that, we're selling ourselves short.
- 1:24:12SPEAKER_00: And God would have came and sent his son for nothing if we don't believe in it.
- 1:24:17SPEAKER_00: We have to believe in it.
- 1:24:19SPEAKER_00: I was talking to a person the other day that was talking about um a lot of people believe that Jesus is just a prophet, and that makes me really sad.
- 1:24:31SPEAKER_00: And then I know this will be a topic for another day, but one thing I want to enlighten you with is Jesus wasn't just a prophet, he was a savior.
- 1:24:40SPEAKER_00: No other prophet was a savior.
- 1:24:43SPEAKER_00: If you flip the coin to what Jesus actually did and what God did, there's no other prophet that did that.
- 1:24:55SPEAKER_00: And he did it because he loves us and he forgave us.
- 1:25:00SPEAKER_00: So the least we could do is try to forgive one another and ask for forgiveness of our own sins and walk in that uprighteousness.
- 1:25:09SPEAKER_00: That doesn't mean when we sin and we ask for forgiveness, that doesn't mean that we're perfect.
- 1:25:16SPEAKER_00: That means we're we're walking in uprightness because that's what God requires us to do.
- 1:25:22SPEAKER_00: God already said we are all sinners.
- 1:25:24SPEAKER_00: We will all be sinners till the day we die.
- 1:25:27SPEAKER_00: None of us will be without sin.
- 1:25:28SPEAKER_00: Not one person on the earth will be without sin.
- 1:25:33SPEAKER_00: But the difference between righteousness and unrighteousness is what you do with it.
- 1:25:38SPEAKER_00: The confession of sin, the repentance, and the forgiveness that comes along with it.
- 1:25:44SPEAKER_00: The cleansing comes.
- 1:25:46SPEAKER_00: Accept the cleansing.
- 1:25:48SPEAKER_00: Be cleansed today.
- 1:25:49SPEAKER_00: If anything, get clean.
- 1:25:53SPEAKER_00: Just be clean.
- 1:25:54SPEAKER_00: Like when you take a shower, it's so good.
- 1:25:56SPEAKER_00: It feels so good when you get out of the shower, you're just like, oh, it just feels so amazing.
- 1:26:00SPEAKER_00: Allow God to cleanse you, allow God to work in and through your life.
- 1:26:04SPEAKER_00: So this was another really good and deep episode.
- 1:26:08SPEAKER_00: There's a lot to it.
- 1:26:10SPEAKER_00: Um, a lot of scriptures.
- 1:26:12SPEAKER_00: There are a lot of connecting scriptures to this topic.
- 1:26:16SPEAKER_00: A lot.
- 1:26:17SPEAKER_00: But there's also a lot of good reason for it.
- 1:26:20SPEAKER_00: Because Jesus died for it.
- 1:26:22SPEAKER_00: Jesus died.
- 1:26:24SPEAKER_00: So we need to forgive one another.
- 1:26:26SPEAKER_00: We need to be forgiven of our own sins.
- 1:26:30SPEAKER_00: And here's the other thing with that.
- 1:26:32SPEAKER_00: There's no shame in that.
- 1:26:35SPEAKER_00: There's no shame in that.
- 1:26:37SPEAKER_00: If you're afraid to ask for forgiveness because of that shame, because there's shame in the forgiving part of it, that's that's a heart posture problem, and that needs to be corrected and that needs to be cleansed.
- 1:26:48SPEAKER_00: Let God do the cleansing work in you.
- 1:26:49SPEAKER_00: Ask God to help you, like my grandmother did.
- 1:26:53SPEAKER_00: She knew she was struggling, she knew she couldn't forgive, but she knew through Jesus Christ she could.
- 1:27:00SPEAKER_00: And she did, she was able to do it.
- 1:27:02SPEAKER_00: So I just want to encourage you today.
- 1:27:04SPEAKER_00: And like Bethany said, if you didn't catch everything that we said, go back and listen.
- 1:27:09SPEAKER_00: Go back, take notes, um, highlight your Bible, write it down, hang it up.
- 1:27:14SPEAKER_00: Um, study it.
- 1:27:17SPEAKER_00: Study the Word of God.
- 1:27:18SPEAKER_00: Just get in and read it and see what it's doing for you.
- 1:27:22SPEAKER_00: See what God does for you.
- 1:27:25SPEAKER_00: It'll change you.
- 1:27:26SPEAKER_00: It changes your perspective, it changes how you treat people.
- 1:27:30SPEAKER_00: If you're kind of a mean person, you're not very nice, one of those crotchety, crotchety people that just are always cranky, whatever you want to call it, if if that's you, read the word of God and let's see that trans that that transition will happen.
- 1:27:44SPEAKER_00: There's a transformation that will come along with reading the scripture.
- 1:27:49SPEAKER_00: There's times when, you know, you know, I we all have struggles.
- 1:27:54SPEAKER_00: We all have done things, said things, acted out, misbehaved, whatever.
- 1:28:00SPEAKER_00: We all have done it.
- 1:28:02SPEAKER_00: No one is alone in this.
- 1:28:05SPEAKER_00: Not one person.
- 1:28:06SPEAKER_00: So there is no shame.
- 1:28:09SPEAKER_00: So I just encourage you today to just spend 10 minutes.
- 1:28:14SPEAKER_00: Just spend 10 minutes with God today.
- 1:28:18SPEAKER_00: And ask him to forgive you of your sins.
- 1:28:20SPEAKER_00: Even if you don't know what those sins are, it's okay.
- 1:28:23SPEAKER_00: He knows.
- 1:28:25SPEAKER_00: He knows what they are.
- 1:28:27SPEAKER_00: And if he and if if you really and if you want to be reminded of those sins, ask him.
- 1:28:32SPEAKER_00: Ask him to show you, to help you, to work on work on those areas of your life.
- 1:28:37SPEAKER_00: He'll do that too.
- 1:28:38SPEAKER_00: So anyway, Bethany, do you have anything else to say in closing?
- 1:28:42SPEAKER_00: Because that was a great episode.
- 1:28:44SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:28:45SPEAKER_02: Um just, you know, if you are struggling with self-condemnation, realize that that is not from God.
- 1:29:09SPEAKER_02: Realize that that is from Satan.
- 1:29:13SPEAKER_02: And who is Satan?
- 1:29:18SPEAKER_02: One of Satan's characteristics is that he is the father of lies.
- 1:29:29SPEAKER_02: John eight forty-four tells us that.
- 1:29:32SPEAKER_02: And so I'm here to tell you that whatever Satan would bring up to you, please, please, please, don't believe.
- 1:29:57SPEAKER_02: Because when we believe the things that Satan says, we're believing the father of lies over the one who created us.
- 1:30:27SPEAKER_02: And to me that that's quite convicting when I think about it.
- 1:30:36SPEAKER_02: And so just be mindful.
- 1:30:50SPEAKER_02: It's so important.
- 1:30:52SPEAKER_02: Be mindful of who you are believing.
- 1:31:00SPEAKER_02: Be mindful of what you are believing.
- 1:31:06SPEAKER_02: Because the only source of truth is the word of God.
- 1:31:15SPEAKER_02: Yes, there may be other things out there that may sound like the truth, but the word of God is the only source of truth.
- 1:31:34SPEAKER_02: And so that's what I have to share.
- 1:31:41SPEAKER_00: That was really good.
- 1:31:42SPEAKER_00: Um and and very mindful.
- 1:31:44SPEAKER_00: I think that um again, wrapping this up, that um we are all forgivable and we all have the ability to forgive.
- 1:31:55SPEAKER_00: That's why we're talking about this.
- 1:31:58SPEAKER_00: And um we don't want to listen to the enemy.
- 1:32:02SPEAKER_00: We want to give credit where credit's doing that's to God.
- 1:32:06SPEAKER_00: Um, because the enemy can't forgive you and won't forgive you, and doesn't forgive you.
- 1:32:13SPEAKER_00: So if you're seeking forgiveness, make sure you know the one that you're seeking it from.
- 1:32:20SPEAKER_00: It's important to know that.
- 1:32:21SPEAKER_00: So, anyhow, this has been a little bit long of it, long episode, and I apologize for that, but it's been wonderful.
- 1:32:27SPEAKER_00: The scripture's been really good.
- 1:32:28SPEAKER_00: We could talk about this all day.
- 1:32:30SPEAKER_00: Um, we could talk about the Bible all day because God is just that good.
- 1:32:33SPEAKER_00: He's good all the time.
- 1:32:35SPEAKER_00: Um, He loves us, and um He loves you guys.
- 1:32:39SPEAKER_00: And I want to say thank you guys for listening and being a part of this podcast because it means a lot to us.
- 1:32:44SPEAKER_00: Please make sure you like, follow, and share.
- 1:32:46SPEAKER_00: And if you have any questions or any concerns or have need for prayer, just reach out to Bethany or I and we'll pray with you.
- 1:32:52SPEAKER_00: Um be happy to pray with you at any time that we can.
- 1:32:55SPEAKER_00: And um just um if you have any questions, just feel free to jot them down and send them our way.
- 1:33:01SPEAKER_00: We'll be glad to answer anything they have.
- 1:33:02SPEAKER_00: And again, Bethany has a lot of um um in her website, she has a lot of studies that you can do.
- 1:33:10SPEAKER_00: And they're really, really good.
- 1:33:11SPEAKER_00: They're very thought-provoking.
- 1:33:12SPEAKER_00: She puts a lot of time and work into them, and um they really help you get through some of the scripture if you're not sure how to follow along or where to look, because she does that kind of that homework for you.
- 1:33:23SPEAKER_00: She's really good about doing that.
- 1:33:25SPEAKER_00: Same with these episodes, she brings a lot of the scripture to the table.
- 1:33:29SPEAKER_00: Um, and I really appreciate that as well.
- 1:33:31SPEAKER_00: And so, anyway, with that being said, I hope that you all have a wonderful and blessed day.
- 1:33:36SPEAKER_00: Um, and hey, if you think about it, just just forgive someone today.
- 1:33:40SPEAKER_00: Forgive someone who done something today that uh that upset you or hurt your feelings or made you mad, or maybe someone looked at you funny.
- 1:33:47SPEAKER_00: Who knows?
- 1:33:48SPEAKER_00: Just forgive them.
- 1:33:49SPEAKER_00: Just just practice forgiving one another.
- 1:33:51SPEAKER_00: Make it a practice, okay?
- 1:33:53SPEAKER_00: We want to we want to help you.
- 1:33:54SPEAKER_00: And we just want you to know that we love you, we care about you, and we just want to share the truth because that's what this podcast is about is the truth being told.
- 1:34:01SPEAKER_00: So y'all take care.
- 1:34:02SPEAKER_00: You have a blessed day, and we'll talk to you again in the next episode.
