- 0:21Speaker 2: Welcome. It is. Very cool. Yes. Thank you for having me.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Excited to have you here.
- 0:24Speaker 1: And we've got a beautiful concert coming up October 24th,
- 0:27Speaker 1: America the Beautiful.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Yes.
- 0:29Speaker 1: And let's talk a little bit about this concert. Have
- 0:31Speaker 1: you done this particular show before or is this the
- 0:34Speaker 1: first time?
- 0:34Speaker 2: This is the first time we've done this particular show.
- 0:36Speaker 2: So this is our way of celebrating America's 250th.
- 0:40Speaker 3: I love that.
- 0:41Speaker 2: And it's a really unique way that we're doing it.
- 0:43Speaker 2: So it's going to be American music roots. So it's gospel,
- 0:48Speaker 2: it's rhythm and blues, it's jazz, it's ragtime. It's going
- 0:52Speaker 2: to be high energy, just a lot of fun. We're
- 0:55Speaker 2: going back to those roots for the music.
- 0:57Speaker 1: I am so excited for this. And I hope that
- 0:59Speaker 1: this opens a door for some new people to be
- 1:01Speaker 1: introduced to the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Because there are probably some people in their mind that
- 1:06Speaker 1: are going, That's not at all what I thought the
- 1:08Speaker 1: symphony was going to be because the stuff you just
- 1:09Speaker 1: mentioned is so different than what I was thinking. But
- 1:12Speaker 1: if this is their first experience, this probably won't be
- 1:15Speaker 1: their last.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Right. This is the perfect way to introduce you to
- 1:18Speaker 2: the orchestra.
- 1:19Speaker 3: It's like a gateway show.
- 1:20Speaker 2: It's a gateway show. Definitely. We do encourage you to experience,
- 1:25Speaker 2: you know, a good old classical symphony concert, of course.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:29Speaker 2: If you've never been to one, this is the perfect
- 1:31Speaker 2: first one to go to.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 1:32Speaker 3: America the Beautiful.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Again, it's October 24th, so it sounds like it's so
- 1:36Speaker 1: far away, but we're going to blink.
- 1:37Speaker 3: Our eyes and it's going to be here.
- 1:38Speaker 2: It's going to be here. Yes.
- 1:40Speaker 1: If somebody would like to get tickets to this, do
- 1:42Speaker 1: they need to be members of the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra?
- 1:45Speaker 1: There's like a whole group they can join to be members.
- 1:47Speaker 1: They need members or do they.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Just buy tickets?
- 1:49Speaker 2: So you can subscribe. There is still time to subscribe.
- 1:52Speaker 2: So we offer concert season packages and that's what we
- 1:54Speaker 2: call you a subscriber.
- 1:56Speaker 3: A subscriber.
- 1:56Speaker 2: So those are still available until opening night, October 3rd.
- 2:00Speaker 2: So we definitely encourage that. You save money that way.
- 2:02Speaker 2: A lot of benefits you don't get from the general
- 2:06Speaker 2: public with subscribing.
- 2:08Speaker 3: And then you're in the club.
- 2:09Speaker 2: And you're in the club.
- 2:10Speaker 3: You're cool.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Yes.
- 2:12Speaker 3: All the cool kids are doing it.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Otherwise, yes, single tickets are on sale. So definitely check

- 2:21Speaker 2: And this concert in particular, America the Beautiful, our lead artist,
- 2:25Speaker 2: Byron Stripling is phenomenal. He oozes this music. His smile
- 2:32Speaker 2: alone will light up the concert hall. He's just full
- 2:34Speaker 2: of joy. He's going to be amazing and fascinating to watch.
- 2:37Speaker 2: He's a trumpet player. He sings and he conducts and
- 2:40Speaker 2: he's doing all three. And he's also bringing Mamie Paris,
- 2:44Speaker 2: a singer who her voice can cut glass. It's so pure,
- 2:47Speaker 2: so powerful. It's going to be an awesome night. Yes.

- 3:02Speaker 1: part of it. And if you've never been to the symphony.
- 3:06Speaker 1: This would be the coolest thing to do to surprise
- 3:08Speaker 1: your loved one and say, guess what we're going to do?
- 3:10Speaker 3: We're going to go to the symphony.
- 3:12Speaker 1: And what a cool first time if you've never done this.

- 3:41Speaker 1: love the convenience of the computer.
- 3:42Speaker 3: That's cool. But there's just something about talking to people
- 3:45Speaker 3: that I like.
