Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: He had a grave from the UK goot morning to
- 0:01Speaker 1: hear hither Andrew great use. Pope Francis as out of
- 0:05Speaker 1: hospital but needs two months off.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Yes, the eighty eight year old has been discharged. He
- 0:12Speaker 2: was pictured and offered a blessing the window or on
- 0:17Speaker 2: a very small sort of balcony at the Gamelli hospital
- 0:20Speaker 2: in Rome where he's being treated. He was admitted there
- 0:23Speaker 2: on the fourteenth of a long stage, some five weeks
- 0:26Speaker 2: there and during that time we now know he had
- 0:29Speaker 2: what's been described as two very critical episodes where according
- 0:32Speaker 2: to doctors, his life was in danger, though we now
- 0:36Speaker 2: understand he was never actually intubated that's the tube into
- 0:39Speaker 2: the throat, but always remained alert and orientated. But nevertheless,
- 0:44Speaker 2: I think this shows just how poorly the Pope has
- 0:46Speaker 2: been And yeah, this couple of months off, the doctors
- 0:51Speaker 2: are basically ordering because he he still sounded pretty pretty poor.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Earlier this month there was an audio recording and his
- 0:58Speaker 2: voice there was really pretty restless. So needs a lot
- 1:01Speaker 2: of rest and recuperation. And there will be plenty around
- 1:05Speaker 2: the world celebrating his release from hospital today.
- 1:09Speaker 1: All right, Yeah, good luck with that. Though. Pope Francis
- 1:11Speaker 1: is a man married to his job and he wants
- 1:13Speaker 1: to work, but he should take two months off for
- 1:15Speaker 1: his own health. Now every Uber driver in the UK
- 1:19Speaker 1: will now be eligible for twenty hours of free child kit.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Why well, it's meant to try and encourage and recruit
- 1:28Speaker 2: more staff, particularly more female drivers. Now Here in the UK,
- 1:34Speaker 2: childcare is incredibly expensive. In fact, it's so expensive that
- 1:38Speaker 2: many mothers actually don't return to the workforce because they
- 1:41Speaker 2: think they'll be worse off because the cost of childcare
- 1:44Speaker 2: outweighs their net earnings for the job they're doing. And
- 1:48Speaker 2: so this is an attempt by Uber to try and
- 1:50Speaker 2: get more women in. And what they're saying is they
- 1:53Speaker 2: will allow people to use an app which means they
- 1:57Speaker 2: can book nannying and baby sitting. Now, twenty hours of
- 2:02Speaker 2: free childcare doesn't sound like a lot, and I suppose
- 2:04Speaker 2: it isn't, but it is something that they believe really
- 2:07Speaker 2: will help steend. The tie up caught quite a few
- 2:10Speaker 2: webs in and around London and it is always men,
- 2:13Speaker 2: so Uber trying to attract more women drivers. There are
- 2:16Speaker 2: one hundred thousand Uber drivers in the UK and their
- 2:19Speaker 2: unions or at least a union which represents some of
- 2:22Speaker 2: those drivers said this is really a cynical pr stunt.
- 2:26Speaker 2: They said they should pay the drivers more, not fiddle
- 2:29Speaker 2: around the edges with incentives like this, and say, according
- 2:33Speaker 2: to some anyway, that their wages have fallen in the
- 2:36Speaker 2: year despite prices being increased for customers. So yeah, the
- 2:41Speaker 2: union really playing this down Uber saying it's a great scheme,
- 2:44Speaker 2: and certainly one or two of the drivers that they
- 2:46Speaker 2: put forward to speak of saying, yeah, it is going
- 2:48Speaker 2: to make life much easier.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Good stuff, Goan and I thank you for more. From
- 2:52Speaker 1: earlier edition with Ryan Bridge.
